Lyrek Convicted in Armed Resistance Case | Minneapolis News
Matthew Lyrek’s violent standoff with deputies outside a Dollar General ended in his arrest and eleven felony charges — including assault — after he pulled a gun on officers during a routine takedown. With multiple warrants and a history of evading law enforcement, Lyrek allegedly threatened to shoot cops just weeks before. Deputies used tasers, then bean bag rounds, to subdue him — and found four guns on him and over 29,000 rounds at his home. Sentencing is set for September 17.
