- Lucas: Välkommen tillbaka, everyone. This is Learn Swedish with Fexingo, episode 88. Luna: Hej hej! I'm ready to learn some Swedish for travel. Last episode we did ice cream... now I'm thinking about my next trip. Lucas: Perfect timing. Today we'll cover checking in at the airport. Super useful if you're flying within Sweden or abroad. Luna: Oh, I love that. I actually have a flight coming up. This is going to be so practical. Lucas: And hey, if you find these episodes helpful for your travels, know that we keep the show ad-free thanks to listeners who support us at buy me a coffee dot com slash fexingo. Luna: Yeah, totally. It's a small way to keep this going and help us make more episodes like this one. Lucas: So at check-in, you'll say 'Jag har en bokning' — I have a booking. Let's hear it: Jag har en bokning. Luna: Jag har en bokning. That's nice and straightforward. Lucas: Exactly. 'Jag har' means I have, 'en bokning' a booking. Try it again. Luna: Jag har en bokning. Lucas: Great. Now the agent might ask 'Kan jag få se ditt pass?' — Can I see your passport? 'Kan jag få se' is can I see, 'ditt pass' your passport. Luna: Kan jag få se ditt pass? That's a whole question. Let me try: Kan jag få se ditt pass? Lucas: Perfect. And you answer 'Här är mitt pass' — Here is my passport. 'Här är' here is, 'mitt pass' my passport. Luna: Här är mitt pass. So simple. Här är mitt pass. Lucas: Yes. Now you'll get your boarding pass and they'll tell you 'Vilken gate?' — Which gate? 'Vilken' which, 'gate' gate. It's the same word in Swedish. Luna: Vilken gate? Okay, that's easy. Gate is gate. Lucas: And finally they say 'Trevlig resa!' — Have a nice trip! 'Trevlig' means nice or pleasant, 'resa' trip. Luna: Trevlig resa! That's so nice. I'd love to hear that. Lucas: Let's put it all together. Imagine you're at the check-in counter. You say: Jag har en bokning. Luna: Jag har en bokning. Lucas: The agent: Kan jag få se ditt pass? Luna: Här är mitt pass. Lucas: Agent gives you the boarding pass and says: Vilken gate? Luna: Maybe I don't know, so I just say 'Tack' and look at the board. Lucas: And they finish with: Trevlig resa! Luna: Trevlig resa! I want to use that. So what do I say back? Just 'Tack'? Lucas: Exactly. 'Tack' or 'Tack så mycket'. Let's practice the full exchange from your side one more time. Luna: Okay. Jag har en bokning. Här är mitt pass. Tack. Trevlig resa? No, that's what they say. Lucas: Right. So you: Jag har en bokning. Then: Här är mitt pass. Then maybe: Tack. And they say: Trevlig resa! That's it. Luna: Got it. Jag har en bokning. Här är mitt pass. Tack. Love it. Lucas: And to wrap up, a quick recall. How do you say 'I have a booking'? Luna: Jag har en bokning. Lucas: Can I see your passport? Luna: Kan jag få se ditt pass? Lucas: Here is my passport. Luna: Här är mitt pass. Lucas: Which gate? Luna: Vilken gate? Lucas: Have a nice trip. Luna: Trevlig resa! Lucas: Perfect. Now you're ready for check-in. Practice these and next time you fly, you'll sound like a pro. Tack för idag, and see you next episode! Luna: Hej då! Trevlig resa!
