- 1:02Speaker 1: having a great holiday season. But before we can make
- 1:05Speaker 1: our resolutions and create our vision boards for 2024, one
- 1:08Speaker 1: of our favorite guests returns, David Yontep from Behind the
- 1:12Speaker 1: Velvet Rope podcast. He's joining us to take a look
- 1:15Speaker 1: back at some of the high highs of celebrity news
- 1:18Speaker 1: in 2023 and some of the very low lows. It
- 1:21Speaker 1: was the year of reality. Reckoning, Scandival, Taylor and Travis,
- 1:24Speaker 1: scoring an heiress tour ticket, Rihanna's Super Bowl performance and
- 1:28Speaker 1: the announcement of her surprise baby, celebrity legal trials, celebrity divorces.
- 1:32Speaker 1: Some shockers in there, Kevin Costner, Hugh Jackman, Joe Jonas
- 1:35Speaker 1: and Sophie Turner, Sofia Vergara and Joe. I'm still waiting
- 1:40Speaker 1: to see if Kim and Kroy still really go through
- 1:42Speaker 1: with it. The Ozempic craze, the much-anticipated spare memoir by
- 1:48Speaker 1: Prince Harry, And then the other memoirs that followed, like Brittany's,
- 1:52Speaker 1: Jada Pinkett Smith, John Stamos, Barbara Streisand, Henry Winkler, and Paris.
- 1:57Speaker 1: Did anyone know she actually had a memoir that came out?
- 2:00Speaker 1: I didn't until I researched this. Barbie and so much more.
- 2:03Speaker 1: So today we're giving out awards to the biggest stories.
- 2:06Speaker 1: and people of 2023. So get ready to gossip with
- 2:09Speaker 1: us on our year-end review. If it happened in the
- 2:12Speaker 1: celeb world, we are here to dish about it. Happy
- 2:15Speaker 1: New Year to all of our listeners at Misunderstood. And
- 2:18Speaker 1: now please enjoy the Misunderstood Awards of 2023 with David Yontes.
- 2:55Speaker 2: Thank you so much for joining me again to wrap
- 2:58Speaker 2: up 2023.
- 2:58Speaker 3: How are you? I mean, we have a major crossover
- 3:03Speaker 3: going on here behind the velvet rope and the misunderstood, Rachel.
- 3:07Speaker 3: You could tell podcast, come on now. Is there any
- 3:10Speaker 3: other way you'd want to end your year, Rachel?
- 3:12Speaker 2: Absolutely not.
- 3:13Speaker 1: So we want to bring you guys the biggest roundup
- 3:17Speaker 1: of 2023, everything that we think made a difference. So
- 3:22Speaker 1: we're hosting the awards, so to speak, of 2023.
- 3:26Speaker 2: And we should get right into it, David, right?
- 3:28Speaker 1: I just actually want to ask you before we start
- 3:30Speaker 1: our awards, um, for you personally, what was the best
- 3:33Speaker 1: part of your year?
- 3:36Speaker 3: Um, Oh, God.
- 3:37Speaker 2: I mean, I have no.
- 3:41Speaker 3: Feelings and emotions. So, I mean, look, the podcast, business-wise,
- 3:45Speaker 3: had the best year yet, you know? So let's have
- 3:49Speaker 3: another year like I did this year. And, you know,
- 3:52Speaker 3: I bought an apartment in the city. And, like, look,
- 3:54Speaker 3: this was a good year, right? Like, things are good.
- 3:57Speaker 3: I have no real complaints this year. And what about you?
- 4:01Speaker 3: I mean, nothing major happened, but I bought an apartment
- 4:03Speaker 3: in New York, and I had a great year with
- 4:05Speaker 3: the podcast.
- 4:06Speaker 2: That's amazing. Well, to answer your question for me, I mean,
- 4:09Speaker 2: I started my podcast this year. We started the very end.
- 4:13Speaker 1: Of March and we quickly became one of the top
- 4:19Speaker 1: podcasts in the country, Canada and Australia.
- 4:22Speaker 2: And, you know, I'm so excited about that.
- 4:24Speaker 1: I feel so thankful for all of our listeners who have,
- 4:27Speaker 1: you know, believed in me and my guests. And, you know,
- 4:31Speaker 1: so I'm just really, really thankful for that. And I'm
- 4:33Speaker 1: really looking forward to the next year to see what
- 4:35Speaker 1: else happens.
- 4:36Speaker 3: And, you know, not to be shady, but my listeners
- 4:38Speaker 3: have PTSD every time they hear a dog bark. So
- 4:41Speaker 3: we welcome your dog. They are having a little PTSD here,
- 4:45Speaker 3: my listeners, but we won't get into that. It's always
- 4:48Speaker 3: nice to see you, Rachel. Look, I got to be
- 4:50Speaker 3: a little shady here. Come on. But congratulations and welcome
- 4:52Speaker 3: to the podcast game. We're thrilled to have you.
- 4:54Speaker 2: Thank you. Thank you very much. All right.
- 4:56Speaker 1: Well, before one more thing I wanted to ask you about,
- 5:00Speaker 1: what was your favorite thing? sponsor of the year. I
- 5:04Speaker 1: know that as podcasters, we get to sample a lot
- 5:09Speaker 1: of different sponsors. Do you have a couple that you
- 5:12Speaker 1: thought were your most exciting for you?
- 5:14Speaker 3: Well, no one really believes. Like I, right now, Oak Essentials,
- 5:20Speaker 3: I love a good facial product. No one believes how
- 5:24Speaker 3: much I love Oak Essentials. And I think, yeah, Oak Essentials.
- 5:29Speaker 3: And for me, listen, I, you open my refrigerator, any
- 5:33Speaker 3: of my refrigerators, and I literally have thousands of bubbly.
- 5:37Speaker 3: Before bubbly was a sponsor. This is the, and bubbly
- 5:40Speaker 3: became a sponsor. So now I get free bubbly, but
- 5:43Speaker 3: I really was drinking. Like if you open my refrigerator,
- 5:45Speaker 3: it's like all the grapefruit right here. It's a very
- 5:47Speaker 3: OCD refrigerator. All the, it's every colors right there. So,
- 5:51Speaker 3: and Oak Essentials for the face is the best facial
- 5:54Speaker 3: product possible.
- 5:55Speaker 2: Okay, good. I like that.
- 5:56Speaker 1: For me, I was really impressed with One Skin, which
- 5:59Speaker 1: I know you had also.
- 6:02Speaker 2: I love it.
- 6:02Speaker 1: I use it all the time and now I'm buying
- 6:04Speaker 1: it and I'm buying it for Christmas gifts for people.
- 6:07Speaker 1: I've been really impressed with Factor meal service, which I
- 6:11Speaker 1: thought was great.
- 6:11Speaker 2: They have amazing shakes. You know, I get a lot
- 6:13Speaker 2: of meal services. And then for me, I wanted.
- 6:15Speaker 1: To give a shout out to a friend of mine
- 6:17Speaker 1: who owns a company called Miami Gorgeous Beauty. Have you ever,
- 6:23Speaker 1: Miami Gorgeous Tan, have you ever used that tanning?
- 6:25Speaker 3: Lotion.
- 6:26Speaker 2: Okay. I'm going to show you what the bottle looks like.
- 6:28Speaker 2: It's phenomenal. And you basically, she sends you a mitt
- 6:32Speaker 2: and you can do, I live in Florida now.
- 6:34Speaker 1: I don't even go in the sun because I use
- 6:36Speaker 1: her tanning stuff. All the celebrities use it. All the
- 6:38Speaker 1: housewives use it. They always promote it, but it actually works.
- 6:41Speaker 2: And it's amazing. And I've never had like weird streaks.
- 6:45Speaker 1: I literally crave it and live for it. So like
- 6:48Speaker 1: that to me is the product of the year.
- 6:50Speaker 3: And now you made me think of one more thing
- 6:52Speaker 3: because you said clean and healthy living. AquaTrue water purifier.
- 6:56Speaker 3: Believe it or not, I have a weird phobia of
- 6:59Speaker 3: drinking tap water. So AquaTrue, their filter, their osmosis process
- 7:04Speaker 3: is bad. Really, it's like the cleanest filtration. I know
- 7:08Speaker 3: you think this is crazy, but I'm excited by a
- 7:10Speaker 3: water filter. Yes, AquaTrue.
- 7:13Speaker 2: Amazing.
- 7:14Speaker 1: And my code for all my things is understood. What
- 7:16Speaker 1: is your code if people want to order through you?
- 7:19Speaker 3: Velvet. I tell people, whatever you're thinking you need, don't
- 7:22Speaker 3: buy it. Just DM me because I got something for everybody.
- 7:25Speaker 2: Exactly.
- 7:26Speaker 3: Honey love. Okay, go on. We have awards to give out, sweetie.
- 7:30Speaker 2: We do. All right, let's get right into it. So David,
- 7:33Speaker 2: drum roll.
- 7:35Speaker 1: What do you think was the biggest comeback of 2023?
- 7:39Speaker 3: And let's just say for people listening, this isn't just Bravo.
- 7:41Speaker 3: This is pop culture, anything. My biggest comeback, I cannot
- 7:46Speaker 3: help it. It is Bravo. Here I am saying that. R-H-O-S-L-C,
- 7:50Speaker 3: Salt Lake City Housewives. The first season was great. The
- 7:54Speaker 3: second season was good. The third season was one of
- 7:56Speaker 3: the worst seasons in Housewives history. It was horrible. I
- 8:01Speaker 3: could barely watch it. I didn't watch it. I didn't
- 8:03Speaker 3: even want to watch season four. Everyone agrees this season
- 8:07Speaker 3: of Real Housewives of Salt Lake City is, how could
- 8:09Speaker 3: you go from horrible to one of the best shows
- 8:13Speaker 3: on TV? It is so good. My biggest comeback goes
- 8:16Speaker 3: to Real Housewives of Salt Lake City.
- 8:19Speaker 2: Okay, amazing.
- 8:20Speaker 3: What about you?
- 8:21Speaker 1: I would say it's a comeback for the Bachelor franchise.
- 8:26Speaker 1: I thought it was pretty spectacular that they did the
- 8:28Speaker 1: Golden Bachelor.
- 8:29Speaker 2: Have you seen the Golden Bachelor?
- 8:31Speaker 3: I have not seen it, but I have to tell you,
- 8:33Speaker 3: the ratings were through the fucking roof. It's a huge hit.
- 8:37Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a huge hit. I actually watched it. I
- 8:39Speaker 2: watched it with my daughter. And she was like, Mom,
- 8:42Speaker 2: you should be on this. And I'm like, I'm not 65,
- 8:46Speaker 2: you know?
- 8:47Speaker 3: Like, come on.
- 8:48Speaker 1: But I thought it was such a great idea to
- 8:50Speaker 1: have someone who's older, who has lost a loved one,
- 8:55Speaker 1: you know, to really see them find love. It really
- 8:57Speaker 1: gave people hope. And I thought it was not only adorable.
- 9:00Speaker 1: Everyone was like, oh, it's so cute. It really, I mean,
- 9:02Speaker 1: it was really romantic and loving.
- 9:04Speaker 2: And it was just.
- 9:05Speaker 1: I was rooting for the guy and I didn't I
- 9:07Speaker 1: don't even watch The Bachelor, you know, so I thought
- 9:10Speaker 1: since like, you know, season one or two. So I
- 9:13Speaker 1: thought it was a comeback for the franchise. I thought
- 9:15Speaker 1: it was a great idea for them to do that.
- 9:16Speaker 1: I hope they continue to do that. And I hope
- 9:19Speaker 1: it continues to be a success. This holiday season, I
- 9:24Speaker 1: plan to spend quality time with my friends, my daughter,
- 9:28Speaker 1: get cozy on the couch, watch a ton of movies,
- 9:30Speaker 1: drink lots of hot chocolate. One thing I won't be
- 9:33Speaker 1: doing is spending time at the grocery store checkout line.
- 9:35Speaker 1: When you sign up for HelloFresh, you get farm fresh,
- 9:38Speaker 1: pre-proportioned ingredients and seasonal recipes delivered right to your doorstep.

- 10:15Speaker 5: The car is beautiful. Where did you end up going
- 10:18Speaker 5: for it?
- 10:18Speaker 6: This exclusive place that Dad has connections with. They have
- 10:21Speaker 6: more cars for more dealerships than like anywhere else.
- 10:24Speaker 5: You have to put me in touch. What's it called?
- 10:26Speaker 4: It's Dune ADL.
- 10:28Speaker 5: Where?
- 10:30Speaker 4: Dune ADL. There's an accent on the E.
- 10:34Speaker 5: Do you mean.
- 10:34Speaker 4: Yes, I got it on Dundale Cars.
- 10:36Speaker 3: Lift? Please.
- 10:38Speaker 5: You going past Kimmage?
- 10:39Speaker 2: Oh, Kimmage. No.
- 10:41Speaker 4: Dundale Cars.
- 10:42Speaker 7: You couldn't possibly go anywhere else.
- 10:44Speaker 3: Free platter.
- 10:46Speaker 1: And I cannot wait to put it out. It makes
- 10:48Speaker 1: it look like I did it on my own, which
- 10:49Speaker 1: I kind of did by organizing it, right? But I mean,
- 10:52Speaker 1: the food that came was so fresh and delicious and
- 10:54Speaker 1: it looks amazing. I cannot wait to taste it. I've
- 10:57Speaker 1: also used Green Chef in the past, which is now
- 11:00Speaker 1: owned by HelloFresh. And with a wider array of meal
- 11:02Speaker 1: plans to choose from, there's something for everyone. I love
- 11:05Speaker 1: switching between the brands and now my listeners can enjoy
- 11:08Speaker 1: both brands at a discount with me. One other thing
- 11:11Speaker 1: I want to add is it's really fun to do
- 11:13Speaker 1: these with someone because you can actually stand in the kitchen, talk.
- 11:17Speaker 1: That's where all the kind of communication happens, especially around
- 11:20Speaker 1: the holidays. And making these meals together has been so fun.

- 11:58Speaker 3: And I think Golden Bachelorette should be coming next. I
- 12:01Speaker 3: think it's right around the corner. I feel it.
- 12:03Speaker 1: Well, you know, I'm going to be 50 in a year,
- 12:06Speaker 1: so maybe they'll do, you know, I'm on their radar.
- 12:09Speaker 3: Let me submit your name. Now, you do have competition
- 12:12Speaker 3: because when she was on this podcast, Luann de la Sepsis,
- 12:14Speaker 3: she would like to also be thrown into the mix.
- 12:16Speaker 3: So between the two of you, I'm going to back
- 12:19Speaker 3: one of you. Okay, fine.
- 12:22Speaker 1: Okay, number two, biggest downfall of 2023.
- 12:27Speaker 3: I swear I have things on my list that are
- 12:28Speaker 3: not Bravo. My biggest downfall is Bravo, Bethany Frankel. I'm sorry.
- 12:33Speaker 3: I'm so... Where is the reality reckoning? I think Bethany
- 12:38Speaker 3: is just confused. I don't dislike her. She's still so smart. And, like,
- 12:43Speaker 3: I have such a complicated relationship with Bethany. But I
- 12:46Speaker 3: just think she's throwing so, like... Take your $ 120 million,
- 12:51Speaker 3: which apparently you got from selling Skinny Girl, and go
- 12:53Speaker 3: live your life. Why are you even trying? I think
- 12:56Speaker 3: she's throwing so much stuff at the wall and none
- 12:59Speaker 3: of it is making sense. And where is the reality reckoning?
- 13:02Speaker 3: We both had Mark Derrigos on our podcast. We love him.
- 13:05Speaker 3: Where is it? Have you heard anything about the reality
- 13:08Speaker 3: reckoning lately? I haven't.
- 13:10Speaker 2: I really have not.
- 13:11Speaker 1: I did hear at the end that they signed some
- 13:13Speaker 1: deals about, you know, making it a safer environment for
- 13:16Speaker 1: people who didn't feel safe. But beyond that, I think
- 13:20Speaker 1: it flopped. I did have a lot of people on
- 13:21Speaker 1: my show that talked about how they wanted to be
- 13:24Speaker 1: a part of it. And I did have a number
- 13:25Speaker 1: of people that said they were happy with the position
- 13:27Speaker 1: they were in. These are current Bravo people. stars that
- 13:31Speaker 1: were saying, you know, how, you know, they did not
- 13:34Speaker 1: see what this big reckoning was. You know, I had
- 13:37Speaker 1: Chef on from Southern Charm, who was really happy with
- 13:42Speaker 1: the place he was in. Kelly Dodd even said that
- 13:45Speaker 1: she never saw any of that stuff. If people want
- 13:47Speaker 1: to drink, they drink on their own accord. If they
- 13:49Speaker 1: want to act like an idiot and make bad decisions,
- 13:51Speaker 1: they can't come back later and blame production for it. So,
- 13:55Speaker 1: you know, as somebody who's been on a reality show,
- 13:57Speaker 1: and has seen it edited after the fact, you know,
- 14:00Speaker 1: they can only edit so much.
- 14:02Speaker 2: You have to give them what you give them, right?
- 14:04Speaker 2: So I don't know. I think people should be more
- 14:07Speaker 2: responsible for their actions. I think what.
- 14:08Speaker 1: Happened with the scandal situation was different because there was
- 14:12Speaker 1: a lot of bullying and shaming in situations like that.
- 14:16Speaker 2: So I think that is a more dangerous.
- 14:18Speaker 1: Situation than what we're talking about, like the everyday person
- 14:22Speaker 1: who feels like they can cry wolf after the fact
- 14:24Speaker 1: because they acted dumb and got naked on camera.
- 14:27Speaker 3: My opinion. I agree. Who's your biggest downfall?
- 14:31Speaker 1: Oh, well, OK, so this is not a Bravo star.
- 14:34Speaker 1: I don't know if you're familiar with this woman. Do
- 14:35Speaker 1: you know who Ruby Frank is? She is the YouTuber,
- 14:38Speaker 1: the mom influencer from eight passengers.
- 14:40Speaker 2: She was arrested and pled guilty of child abuse, starving
- 14:44Speaker 2: her children and physical torture. She was a huge star.
- 14:49Speaker 1: She had millions of followers, talked about her parenting styles. And,
- 14:53Speaker 1: you know, she was finally arrested and she pled this
- 14:56Speaker 1: week guilty.
- 14:57Speaker 2: And it's a huge story of people.
- 14:59Speaker 3: I saw that.
- 15:01Speaker 1: But for me, that was the biggest downfall because it
- 15:03Speaker 1: shows you that people that have a platform can be
- 15:05Speaker 1: very dangerous and you should not always follow their advice
- 15:08Speaker 1: because here exhibit that you have someone who is now
- 15:11Speaker 1: going to be in jail for a very long time
- 15:13Speaker 1: and has lost her kids.
- 15:14Speaker 2: That's crazy to me.
- 15:15Speaker 1: So, you know, people in the spotlight are not always
- 15:19Speaker 1: good people.
- 15:20Speaker 3: You have a woman who actually abused her children. I
- 15:23Speaker 3: have Bethany Frankel. Our minds are in different places, but
- 15:26Speaker 3: very well. And I do know who that is, shockingly.
- 15:29Speaker 2: Yeah. Okay.
- 15:30Speaker 6: All right.
- 15:30Speaker 2: Number three, the most overrated story or person of 2023.
- 15:35Speaker 3: I mean, I assume we have the same person here,
- 15:39Speaker 3: Ariana Maddox, overrated, everywhere, overhyped. Is that yours too?
- 15:44Speaker 2: Yeah, that is mine too, for sure.
- 15:46Speaker 3: Thank you.
- 15:48Speaker 2: I also had Bethany Frankel. You know, why do we
- 15:52Speaker 2: think that we care about every thought that comes into
- 15:54Speaker 2: her head? I don't know. You know, literally every post
- 15:58Speaker 2: is something that she wants us to care about. Now, listen,
- 16:01Speaker 2: a lot of people do care.
- 16:02Speaker 1: They are influenced by her, but there are a lot
- 16:04Speaker 1: of people that have their own opinion, like me, that
- 16:07Speaker 1: think we don't need to hear about every single thought or,
- 16:10Speaker 1: you know, angry feeling she has. But the Arianamatic thing,
- 16:15Speaker 1: you know, to me, that was so overdone. And the
- 16:18Speaker 1: fact that she, you know, went through something as a
- 16:20Speaker 1: victim and And then got what? Movie deals, TV deals,
- 16:26Speaker 1: Dancing with the Stars.
- 16:27Speaker 3: She's headed to Broadway to play Roxy Hart in Chicago now.
- 16:32Speaker 1: I just I don't get it. I'm not sure why
- 16:34Speaker 1: I get that at all. And I think it's actually ridiculous. So,
- 16:38Speaker 1: you know, the fact that Raquel, Rachel, whatever her name is,
- 16:41Speaker 1: didn't come back.
- 16:42Speaker 2: Because she felt so shamed about what she did why
- 16:45Speaker 2: why are we shaming this girl if they're on reality
- 16:47Speaker 2: tv this is part of what happens it's like and
- 16:50Speaker 2: i get it i've been in that situation right um
- 16:53Speaker 2: but like this is crazy to me that this girl
- 16:56Speaker 2: feels like she has no friends and she's the villain
- 16:59Speaker 2: um and everyone else gets to live a great life
- 17:01Speaker 2: and get paid for it i just think that's absolutely
- 17:04Speaker 2: wrong i do.
- 17:06Speaker 3: I'm a little Ariana, like I'm a little Ariana Dow.
- 17:09Speaker 3: I mean, I wish her great success. She's had great success.
- 17:12Speaker 3: A good friend of mine, Lala Kent said, plenty of
- 17:14Speaker 3: us get cheated on and don't become God. I'm going
- 17:17Speaker 3: to stand for that one. It's a little overexposed for me.
- 17:21Speaker 2: Lala Kent said no now about her?
- 17:23Speaker 3: Well, on the trailer for next season, Lala has this quote,
- 17:28Speaker 3: you know, plenty of people get cheated on until become God.
- 17:30Speaker 3: Lala's now backtracked and said that was edited out of context.
- 17:34Speaker 3: I don't really know how it could be edited out
- 17:36Speaker 3: of context, but I'm going to go with Lala on
- 17:38Speaker 3: this one.
- 17:38Speaker 2: Well, I'm just I can actually see how these girls
- 17:41Speaker 2: are going to start to get jealous of the fame.
- 17:44Speaker 2: that Ariana is getting from this.
- 17:47Speaker 1: At first, I think they all were excited to be
- 17:49Speaker 1: on that bandwagon with her. But now that they see she's,
- 17:52Speaker 1: you know, her trajectory is completely different than theirs, I
- 17:55Speaker 1: think they're going to be not supporting it as much.
- 17:58Speaker 3: I agree. What else you got for me?
- 18:02Speaker 2: Number four, couple of the year.
- 18:05Speaker 3: Couple of the year. Believe it or not, this is
- 18:07Speaker 3: not Bravo. My couple of the year is hands down
- 18:11Speaker 3: one of the king of the twinks, Mr. Timothy Chalamet
- 18:14Speaker 3: and Miss Kylie Jenner. I am so here for this.
- 18:18Speaker 3: I think he is so hot. I think she is
- 18:21Speaker 3: so hot. I mean, this just shouldn't work. It makes
- 18:25Speaker 3: no sense. At first, you're like, this is such a
- 18:28Speaker 3: great publicity thing. It's great for him, you know, with
- 18:31Speaker 3: like a Kardashian. He's a real actor. He's like everywhere
- 18:35Speaker 3: now because of Willy Wonka. It's great for her. It
- 18:38Speaker 3: looks good for both of them. I think this is real.
- 18:40Speaker 3: I'm like, you've convinced me it's been going on this long.
- 18:44Speaker 3: Kylie and Timothee Chalamet.
- 18:46Speaker 2: What's their age difference?
- 18:50Speaker 3: I mean, I think they're right around the same age.
- 18:52Speaker 2: Why?
- 18:52Speaker 3: You think he's younger than her?
- 18:54Speaker 2: I know.
- 18:55Speaker 1: I think she's... We forget because of all the work
- 18:57Speaker 1: she's had done. She's very young. So I'm curious if
- 19:00Speaker 1: he's in his 30s or if he's still in his 20s.
- 19:03Speaker 1: To me, he's been around so long, I feel like
- 19:05Speaker 1: he's a little bit older. But no, I mean, I
- 19:08Speaker 1: don't think it's not real. I think it's a real romance. I... No,
- 19:12Speaker 1: I guess I'm here for it.
- 19:13Speaker 2: I like it.
- 19:14Speaker 1: I mean, I... Quite frankly, I think it brings credibility
- 19:17Speaker 1: to her. You know, he's he's somebody that we see
- 19:21Speaker 1: as like a credible actor. He's been on a lot
- 19:23Speaker 1: of things and he happens to have a hit movie
- 19:24Speaker 1: out right now in Willy Wonka. So I think that's
- 19:27Speaker 1: pretty cool that, you know, it's not just a reality
- 19:30Speaker 1: star or an actor or a musician that we normally
- 19:33Speaker 1: see these people with our basketball player. You know, he's
- 19:36Speaker 1: like a real, real actor. You know, like she's not
- 19:40Speaker 1: into the list.
- 19:42Speaker 3: Yeah, he's like A-list. He's the real deal. I mean,
- 19:45Speaker 3: she snuck into the premiere, you know, snuck just went incognito.
- 19:48Speaker 3: Chris was Jenner was there with her. They snuck out
- 19:51Speaker 3: to not distract from him, you know, because we know
- 19:53Speaker 3: a Kardashian distracts from everything. And I'm just so here
- 19:57Speaker 3: for this. Yeah, I'm here for it.
- 19:59Speaker 2: That's a good one. OK, I have three.
- 20:02Speaker 5: The car is beautiful. Where did you end up going
- 20:05Speaker 5: for it?
- 20:05Speaker 6: This exclusive place that Donna's connections with. they have more
- 20:09Speaker 6: cars for more dealerships than, like, anywhere else.
- 20:11Speaker 5: You have to put me in touch. What's it called?
- 20:13Speaker 4: It's Dunediel.
- 20:15Speaker 5: Where?
- 20:17Speaker 3: Dunediel.
- 20:18Speaker 4: There's an accent on the E.
- 20:21Speaker 5: Do you mean.
- 20:21Speaker 4: Yes, I got it on Dunediel Cars.
- 20:23Speaker 2: Lift?
- 20:24Speaker 3: Please.
- 20:25Speaker 5: You going past Kimmage?
- 20:26Speaker 2: Oh, Kimmage. No.
- 20:28Speaker 4: Dunediel Cars.
- 20:29Speaker 7: You couldn't possibly go anywhere else.
- 20:33Speaker 1: Well, I mean, this is an answer that I think
- 20:35Speaker 1: people should think. Barbie and Ken. I mean, that was
- 20:39Speaker 1: the couple of the year for people that really got
- 20:40Speaker 1: into that movie. They've made, you know, like these vintage
- 20:45Speaker 1: books about Barbie.
- 20:46Speaker 2: And Ken now. I mean, the whole Barbie and Ken
- 20:47Speaker 2: thing has come back.
- 20:48Speaker 3: It was a movement.
- 20:50Speaker 2: Yeah, it was a movement.
- 20:52Speaker 1: The pink movement, you know, is still going. Obviously, we
- 20:55Speaker 1: just have to mention it, Travis and Taylor. I mean,
- 20:58Speaker 1: how many times did you watch her run off the
- 21:01Speaker 1: stage and run into his arms and kiss him?
- 21:04Speaker 3: Just once.
- 21:06Speaker 2: You did?
- 21:07Speaker 3: Just once for me, yeah.
- 21:08Speaker 1: Well, I watched probably 25 times. And everybody I know
- 21:12Speaker 1: watched it over and over again. And we, you know,
- 21:14Speaker 1: as a nation, probably.
- 21:17Speaker 2: As a world, I think are so invested in their relationship.
- 21:21Speaker 1: And are really rooting for him. My daughter walks around.
- 21:24Speaker 1: in a Kelsey jersey, and we watch football now. Instead
- 21:29Speaker 1: of Roblox, she plays football games on her thing, and
- 21:33Speaker 1: she's 11. I think that's really amazing, the impact that
- 21:36Speaker 1: this relationship has had, and I really hope that in
- 21:40Speaker 1: 2024 that they do not break up because I really
- 21:42Speaker 1: hope this is it for her.
- 21:43Speaker 2: They seem both equally successful.
- 21:47Speaker 1: They have their own personalities of why people love them,
- 21:49Speaker 1: and we're rooting for both of them, so I think
- 21:51Speaker 1: that they are the couple of the year. Another one
- 21:54Speaker 1: I think is really interesting is Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively,
- 21:57Speaker 1: because they are best friends with Taylor and they've been
- 22:02Speaker 1: seen a lot lately, but I think people really love
- 22:04Speaker 1: them because they're both so attractive and whatever, but they
- 22:06Speaker 1: really have stood out as people that like are supportive.
- 22:09Speaker 2: Um, you know, they're just couple goals every single year.
- 22:13Speaker 2: They're adorable. They're good parents.
- 22:16Speaker 1: Um, and what I don't think people realize is that
- 22:18Speaker 1: Taylor has been so close with them for many years
- 22:21Speaker 1: that some, one of her songs is named after, or
- 22:25Speaker 1: has all three of their kids in the song. So
- 22:28Speaker 1: I think it's called Betty and that's the name of
- 22:30Speaker 1: one of her kids.
- 22:30Speaker 2: So I didn't realize this until I got, I went
- 22:32Speaker 2: down in the rabbit hole of the whole thing. But anyways,
- 22:35Speaker 2: I think they're a couple.
- 22:36Speaker 3: And they're billionaires now with the sale of Mint Mobile.
- 22:41Speaker 3: And by the way, my Bravo, if I was going
- 22:43Speaker 3: to name a Bravo couple of their underdogs, Danielle Oliveira
- 22:47Speaker 3: and Southern Hospitalities, Joe Bradley, new couple alert, but my
- 22:51Speaker 3: money's on them for 2024 under the radar, but wishing
- 22:56Speaker 3: them well.
- 22:57Speaker 2: Okay, I like that. Most dysfunctional relationship of the year.
- 23:01Speaker 2: I think this is obvious.
- 23:02Speaker 3: I mean, is there, do I have to even say
- 23:05Speaker 3: the words? The trash, the pure trash that is Kim
- 23:08Speaker 3: and Croy. Trash. I'm sorry.
- 23:10Speaker 2: It's terrible.
- 23:12Speaker 3: Like, trash.
- 23:14Speaker 1: Well, you know, at some point it's like people are
- 23:16Speaker 1: upset for you because you broke up, but then the
- 23:18Speaker 1: way they behave.
- 23:19Speaker 2: No one cares anymore. No one cares.
- 23:22Speaker 1: No one wishes the best for either one. No one
- 23:24Speaker 1: blames one over the other because they both have just
- 23:27Speaker 1: seemed so terrible about this whole thing.
- 23:29Speaker 2: They're poor kids.
- 23:30Speaker 1: Um, And we don't know anymore if things are for
- 23:33Speaker 1: reality TV because they're so poor and they're trying to
- 23:35Speaker 1: get a show or if they really are just toxic,
- 23:38Speaker 1: disgusting people. So I really think they're dysfunctional and they
- 23:41Speaker 1: should not be watched.
- 23:42Speaker 2: Like no one should care what they're doing. Wasn't she
- 23:44Speaker 2: just on some show recently?
- 23:47Speaker 3: She just filmed The Surreal Life, which is not out yet,
- 23:51Speaker 3: where the rumors were that she was going after Tom
- 23:53Speaker 3: Hanks' son, Chet Hanks. Listen, I understand 9-1-1 has to
- 23:59Speaker 3: come if you call 9-1-1. But, like, at what point
- 24:02Speaker 3: do you care? Like, they call 9-1-1 every... How many
- 24:05Speaker 3: times have you called 9-1-1 in your life? Like, I
- 24:08Speaker 3: think maybe never for me. Maybe by mistake once. I mean,
- 24:12Speaker 3: they call 9-1-1 every other time. day you can call
- 24:16Speaker 3: 9-1-1 by mistake you're looking at me like I'm crazy
- 24:18Speaker 3: um you're just like you're like oh shit how did
- 24:21Speaker 3: I dial 9-1-1 you know like you sit on your
- 24:23Speaker 3: phone like a butt dial you're like oh my god
- 24:26Speaker 3: but yeah they call 9-1-1 ever the children call 9-1-1
- 24:29Speaker 3: it's like I don't think there's I don't think I've
- 24:31Speaker 3: ever seen a more dysfunctional couple in my life possibly.
- 24:35Speaker 1: Right okay another another couple I think um should be
- 24:39Speaker 1: up for the nomination would be Will Smith and Jada
- 24:41Speaker 1: Pinkett I mean, how many times is she going to
- 24:44Speaker 1: emasculate this poor guy?
- 24:45Speaker 2: And how many times is he going to take it?
- 24:47Speaker 2: So I just, you know, I'm done watching them as well.
- 24:51Speaker 3: I don't even understand them at all, really, what's going
- 24:54Speaker 3: on now. I mean, we had the slap and it
- 24:56Speaker 3: was like, OK, you're sticking up for the love of
- 24:57Speaker 3: your life and they're together forever. And then all this
- 25:00Speaker 3: comes out. She has to sell a book. And apparently
- 25:03Speaker 3: it's all a sham, which people said for a minute.
- 25:05Speaker 3: But it's yeah, I'm like, there's so many claims that
- 25:08Speaker 3: she has that I just am so confused by everything
- 25:11Speaker 3: coming out of Jada's mouth. Yeah.
- 25:13Speaker 2: All right. Well, so we're going to move on from that.
- 25:15Speaker 2: All right. I like this one.
- 25:16Speaker 1: Most inspiring person of 2023.
- 25:20Speaker 3: For me, another non-problem. So proud of myself. For me,
- 25:23Speaker 3: it is Shannon Doherty. Listen, I don't listen to podcasts.
- 25:26Speaker 3: Hers is the only one I'm listening to. I mean,
- 25:28Speaker 3: besides yours and mine, of course. She has a new podcast,
- 25:31Speaker 3: Let's Be Clear with Shannon Doherty. Look, I mean, she
- 25:34Speaker 3: has stage four breast cancer, which then spread to her brain,
- 25:38Speaker 3: which is now in the bones. she went to so
- 25:42Speaker 3: many fan conventions this year. Now, okay, if you're a
- 25:44Speaker 3: Shannon Doherty and you go to these fan conventions, you
- 25:47Speaker 3: do leave with a huge chunk of change in your pocket.
- 25:50Speaker 3: But I really feel that she is, I mean, she's
- 25:54Speaker 3: doing that for the fans and getting paid a ton
- 25:56Speaker 3: at the same time, but she's changing the face of cancer.
- 26:00Speaker 3: You know, she's really like, You don't I'm not sick
- 26:05Speaker 3: at the moment. I mean, just because I have this,
- 26:07Speaker 3: I feel great today. I feel great yesterday. I feel
- 26:09Speaker 3: great tomorrow. So she's living her life and working and
- 26:13Speaker 3: just kind of, you know, it's all authentic at this point.
- 26:17Speaker 3: There's nothing for a soundbiter to get in the press.
- 26:19Speaker 3: Mind you, her podcast is in the press every other
- 26:21Speaker 3: hour on the hour because she's. Yeah, because she's speaking
- 26:25Speaker 3: the truth about so many things. Like, I mean, things
- 26:28Speaker 3: that I guess I thought we all knew, like Alyssa
- 26:30Speaker 3: Milano got her fired from Charmed. I thought we all
- 26:32Speaker 3: knew that, but apparently not. It was a huge story
- 26:35Speaker 3: this week. So, I mean, there's no soundbite. There's no, like,
- 26:38Speaker 3: let's get back at Alyssa. You're telling the truth because
- 26:41Speaker 3: why not at this point?
- 26:43Speaker 1: Yeah, I think it's really a great way to have
- 26:47Speaker 1: her final say, right? Her story come out and she
- 26:50Speaker 1: can do it in a way where she feels like
- 26:51Speaker 1: people can listen. They cannot listen. She doesn't have to
- 26:53Speaker 1: spend years writing a book, but she can just talk.
- 26:56Speaker 1: I mean, does she have guests or she's just kind
- 26:58Speaker 1: of saying her thoughts.
- 26:59Speaker 2: On her podcast?
- 27:00Speaker 3: No, she has guests. Her second guest was Holly Marie
- 27:03Speaker 3: Combs from Charmed, who then said, I will tell you
- 27:06Speaker 3: that I was called in and they told me that
- 27:08Speaker 3: Alyssa Milano was going to sue for a hostile work
- 27:12Speaker 3: environment and said it's either her or me. And they
- 27:15Speaker 3: were backed into a corner and they had to fire Shannon,
- 27:17Speaker 3: which probably would never fly today in 2023, but.
- 27:22Speaker 3: Soon to be 2024. But so, yeah, I mean, but
- 27:24Speaker 3: I just think like the fact that she is, you know, look,
- 27:28Speaker 3: a lot of people with this type of diagnosis would
- 27:30Speaker 3: sit home and just say, I'm counting my final days.
- 27:37Speaker 3: And she's inspiring.
- 27:38Speaker 1: He's an absolute, absolute inspiration for people who think their
- 27:42Speaker 1: life is over when they are diagnosed with cancer. She
- 27:45Speaker 1: is forging on telling her story, making sure that her
- 27:48Speaker 1: words get out there.
- 27:49Speaker 2: Um, and you know, living like, uh.
- 27:52Speaker 1: You're living every day for today, which by the way,
- 27:54Speaker 1: we all should, cause we're all going to die at
- 27:56Speaker 1: some point.
- 27:57Speaker 2: Right.
- 27:57Speaker 3: And I say that all the time. Yeah.
- 27:59Speaker 1: But we don't know if we have two years, five years,
- 28:01Speaker 1: just cause we weren't diagnosed with something. You know, it's a,
- 28:04Speaker 1: it's a really good lesson in that you should live, um,
- 28:08Speaker 1: every day to its fullest. I know that's like very cliche,
- 28:10Speaker 1: but it is true. We can't, we can't just assume
- 28:13Speaker 1: we're going to live till we're.
- 28:13Speaker 3: 85, 90 years old. I say that all the time.
- 28:16Speaker 3: I agree with you. So I agree.
- 28:18Speaker 5: All right.
- 28:18Speaker 2: For me, my most inspiring person of the year is
- 28:21Speaker 2: Maya Kowalski. You know, I talk about this story.
- 28:25Speaker 1: All the time with you on my show with everyone,
- 28:27Speaker 1: but she is the girl that at 10 years old
- 28:30Speaker 1: was taken to the hospital by her parents.
- 28:33Speaker 2: She had been diagnosed with a disease that.
- 28:37Speaker 1: Needed treatment with ketamine and And when they went to
- 28:40Speaker 1: the hospital a year later, after she relapsed, the hospital
- 28:43Speaker 1: did not believe her parents called in child protective services.
- 28:47Speaker 1: They took over for three months. She wasn't allowed to
- 28:49Speaker 1: see her mother and her mother ultimately killed herself. And
- 28:53Speaker 1: they have spent the last few years trying to get
- 28:56Speaker 1: in front of a judge and a jury, you know,
- 28:59Speaker 1: trying to get a trial going to to sue John Hopkins.
- 29:03Speaker 1: And I think last month, Now, she won. She won
- 29:07Speaker 1: her case. Her story was heard. People finally believed her.
- 29:11Speaker 1: She won $ 220 million, I think another $ 60 million in.
- 29:15Speaker 2: Some sort of award.
- 29:16Speaker 1: And she's suing again for something else unrelated, but for
- 29:22Speaker 1: things that happened when she was in the hospital. So
- 29:25Speaker 1: I'm going to be having her on as a guest
- 29:26Speaker 1: in the new year with her lawyer.
- 29:28Speaker 2: I am just obsessed with that story.
- 29:30Speaker 1: It's such a true story about somebody's experience and how
- 29:34Speaker 1: they felt like they did not have a voice all
- 29:36Speaker 1: these years and they were not believed. And I thought
- 29:38Speaker 1: it was just so unbelievable. There's a Netflix documentary called
- 29:42Speaker 1: Take Care of Maya. Everyone should see it. But it's
- 29:44Speaker 1: so hard to watch because it's so upsetting and it
- 29:47Speaker 1: just sheds light to, you know.
- 29:50Speaker 5: The car is beautiful. Where did you end up going
- 29:53Speaker 5: for it?
- 29:54Speaker 6: This exclusive place that Donna's connections with. they've more cars
- 29:57Speaker 6: for more dealerships than like anywhere else.
- 29:59Speaker 5: You have to put me in touch.
- 30:00Speaker 4: What's it called? It's Dunaidial.
- 30:03Speaker 3: Where?
- 30:05Speaker 5: Dunaidial.
- 30:06Speaker 4: There's an accent on the E.
- 30:09Speaker 5: Do you mean.
- 30:10Speaker 4: Yes, I got it on Dundale Cars.
- 30:11Speaker 3: Lift? Please.
- 30:13Speaker 5: You going past Kimmage?
- 30:14Speaker 4: Oh, Kimmage.
- 30:15Speaker 2: No.
- 30:17Speaker 7: Dundale Cars. You couldn't possibly go anywhere else.
- 30:20Speaker 1: It happens in hospitals and how much power they have
- 30:24Speaker 1: to to make decisions that may or may not be
- 30:28Speaker 1: good for you.
- 30:28Speaker 3: So I mean, that's what they thought that like the
- 30:32Speaker 3: mother was abusing her. That's what it was.
- 30:34Speaker 1: They thought the mother had Munchausen's by proxy and was
- 30:38Speaker 1: claiming her daughter was sick to make herself look better.
- 30:42Speaker 2: Um, but honestly, David, you have to see this, this, uh, documentary. Yeah.
- 30:47Speaker 3: And then the mother killed herself. What? Cause they wouldn't
- 30:49Speaker 3: let her see the child.
- 30:51Speaker 2: Yeah. For three months to let her see the child
- 30:54Speaker 2: in the fight. The day she killed herself, there was
- 30:56Speaker 2: a tribe.
- 30:57Speaker 1: There was a, they got in front of the judge and,
- 30:59Speaker 1: The judge is like, no, I'm going to keep this going.
- 31:02Speaker 1: And the lawyer said, well, can can Miss Kowalski just
- 31:05Speaker 1: give her daughter a hug?
- 31:07Speaker 2: And the judge said no.
- 31:08Speaker 1: And that evening she went home and she hung herself
- 31:12Speaker 1: in the garage.
- 31:12Speaker 2: I mean, it's a terrible story. So, yeah. So I
- 31:16Speaker 2: feel so happy.
- 31:17Speaker 1: I mean, of course, it doesn't bring her mother back,
- 31:19Speaker 1: but I'm so happy for the family, for the for
- 31:22Speaker 1: the father. Um, for Maya, for her brother, they've been
- 31:25Speaker 1: through so much and, um, you know, they deserve the best.
- 31:28Speaker 1: So that to me is my, the most inspiring person
- 31:31Speaker 1: of the year.
- 31:31Speaker 3: All right.
- 31:33Speaker 2: Number seven, breakout star this year.
- 31:36Speaker 1: Who was your favorite person that kind of came out
- 31:39Speaker 1: of nowhere?
- 31:40Speaker 3: I mean, I don't know about my favorite person. I
- 31:43Speaker 3: don't even know if I really care about this person,
- 31:45Speaker 3: but to me, the breakout star that is everywhere. It
- 31:48Speaker 3: proves your point. You basically gave this one away for
- 31:50Speaker 3: me earlier, and I'm not kind of making a joke,
- 31:53Speaker 3: but not really. As a self-respecting gay man, Travis Kelsey,
- 31:57Speaker 3: lots of us have never heard his name in our
- 32:00Speaker 3: entire life before. I don't know a Travis Kelsey from
- 32:03Speaker 3: Lamar Odom. You know, if Lamar wasn't on, I don't
- 32:05Speaker 3: know any sports people. I never heard of the guy before. Chiefs, this, that.
- 32:10Speaker 3: I don't know. I don't care. Certainly know him now.
- 32:13Speaker 3: Travis Kelsey is my breakout star of the year. To
- 32:16Speaker 3: your point, your daughter is wearing his freaking shirt.
- 32:19Speaker 2: Yeah. Yeah. Him. It's funny.
- 32:21Speaker 1: Like, a lot of people say that he was nobody
- 32:23Speaker 1: and Taylor made him.
- 32:26Speaker 2: But I don't think that's the case. He was, you know,
- 32:28Speaker 2: in the Super Bowl last year. Everybody knew him. He
- 32:30Speaker 2: had a reality show. Yeah. made about him and dating.
- 32:33Speaker 2: So he's obviously been on the map, just not on
- 32:36Speaker 2: our map, not on our radar.
- 32:38Speaker 3: He was on watch what happens with Ramona. Yeah.
- 32:41Speaker 2: Yeah. Crazy.
- 32:42Speaker 1: So he's been a star in someone's orbit before ours,
- 32:46Speaker 1: but I agree.
- 32:47Speaker 2: I did not know who he was, but I think
- 32:49Speaker 2: he's a great guy. I love his humor. I think
- 32:51Speaker 2: he's adorable and I really want him to succeed. So
- 32:54Speaker 2: I like that.
- 32:55Speaker 1: Um, Okay, for me, I had a couple. I can't decide,
- 32:58Speaker 1: but I'll pick two. This guy, I think, has been
- 33:01Speaker 1: around a little bit, but I think this year he
- 33:03Speaker 1: really broke out of his shell. Bowen Yang from Saturday
- 33:09Speaker 1: Night Live. His George Santos impression killed it. I think
- 33:13Speaker 1: that he's one of the best on Saturday Night Live
- 33:15Speaker 1: right now, and I'm really happy to see that. I
- 33:17Speaker 1: remember I watched the first night he was on, and
- 33:19Speaker 1: I was nervous for him.
- 33:20Speaker 2: You could tell how nervous he was. And now I
- 33:22Speaker 2: think he's great. Do you know who he is?
- 33:24Speaker 3: Yeah, Fire Island. He had the whole movie, Fire Island.
- 33:27Speaker 3: He had a great year, yeah.
- 33:30Speaker 2: Yeah, I think he's great.
- 33:31Speaker 1: And then an ode to you, because, you know, I
- 33:33Speaker 1: don't do a lot of reality TV stars, but I
- 33:35Speaker 1: think the new housewife of New York, Bryn Whitfield, became
- 33:39Speaker 1: a breakout star. Obviously, we did not know who she was.
- 33:43Speaker 1: And now people love her, love her, hate her, whatever
- 33:46Speaker 1: it is. She is on people's radar. So I thought
- 33:48Speaker 1: she was an interesting breakout star.
- 33:50Speaker 3: And people, the shoes, her shoes, the Louboutins, they got
- 33:53Speaker 3: stuck in the elevator at BravoCon. They went, I mean,
- 33:56Speaker 3: she has a moment at BravoCon that people will be
- 33:58Speaker 3: talking about for years. So she certainly knows how to
- 34:02Speaker 3: get attention that burn with you.
- 34:03Speaker 1: And I will tell you, I saw a dress on
- 34:05Speaker 1: her from some sort of random clip and I stalked
- 34:08Speaker 1: the internet trying to find the dress that she was wearing.
- 34:11Speaker 1: And I actually tracked it down and bought it. It
- 34:13Speaker 1: just came to my house. So again, I don't actually.
- 34:16Speaker 2: Watch the housewives of New York, but I definitely know
- 34:18Speaker 2: who she is. And I, I she's in my mind
- 34:21Speaker 2: a little bit. So good, good job. All right. One
- 34:24Speaker 2: to watch in 2023. headed to 2024.
- 34:27Speaker 1: But like, who's the person that you think is on
- 34:30Speaker 1: the radar right now that's going to break out in 2024?
- 34:34Speaker 3: This is literally no, it's a breakout. So nobody is
- 34:38Speaker 3: going to know what I'm talking about, I don't think.
- 34:39Speaker 3: But do you know the Betchef It's such a, it's
- 34:44Speaker 3: the Betch Chef. The Instagram handle is, it's QCP, and
- 34:48Speaker 3: this guy's name is Gianluca Conte. You have to watch it.
- 34:52Speaker 3: He wears this apron that says Betch, and he's also
- 34:55Speaker 3: really hot, so you see the whole body. But he
- 34:57Speaker 3: has like 2 million followers on Instagram, and he does
- 34:59Speaker 3: like a thing, and he's like Betch, and he cooks,
- 35:02Speaker 3: and he just, look it up right now. If anyone
- 35:04Speaker 3: knows what I'm talking about, I've been obsessed with this. Like,
- 35:07Speaker 3: it's not just because he's hot. It's really, he cooks.
- 35:10Speaker 3: He's like, today we're going to make pasta. And it's just,
- 35:13Speaker 3: the videos are so great. And they're so interesting. And
- 35:16Speaker 3: I mean, literally, he has like 2 million followers. And
- 35:18Speaker 3: it's becoming, it's like, it is, it's way more of
- 35:21Speaker 3: a thing now than it was like 12 months ago.
- 35:23Speaker 3: I think he's the one to watch. Look up the Instagram.
- 35:26Speaker 3: It's QCP. I'm going to look it up.
- 35:28Speaker 2: I have no idea what I'm talking about.
- 35:31Speaker 3: I mean, it's like I'm like no one's going to
- 35:33Speaker 3: know what I'm talking about. But like it's it's yeah,
- 35:36Speaker 3: the Instagram is it's QCP has two point two million followers.
- 35:40Speaker 3: He has sponsorships and he it's not just like he's
- 35:42Speaker 3: like today we're going to make a sob. And it's
- 35:44Speaker 3: not just all Italian, but they're really it's cooking. It's
- 35:49Speaker 3: like he's he's a cooking influencer. He just did an
- 35:52Speaker 3: ad for Ramsey. And it's really interesting. He's also part
- 35:56Speaker 3: of next models. He has a side gig. That's the
- 35:58Speaker 3: one I'm putting my money on. Okay.
- 36:00Speaker 1: For me, one to watch in 2024 who came into
- 36:03Speaker 1: my radar in 2023. Well, I have one that I
- 36:06Speaker 1: really like. We both, I think, had her on our show.
- 36:09Speaker 1: Meredith Lynch. She's an Instagram influencer. She always has something
- 36:15Speaker 1: to say. A couple people have sent her cease and desist.
- 36:19Speaker 1: Bethany Frankel. I think Rachel Zoe. And she always is like...
- 36:25Speaker 1: one foot ahead of the story. I really like her.
- 36:28Speaker 2: I think she's interesting. I think her takes on things
- 36:30Speaker 2: are interesting. What are your thoughts on her?
- 36:34Speaker 3: Listen, I loved her. I had great chemistry with her.
- 36:36Speaker 3: And you know how that is. Just because someone's whatever,
- 36:38Speaker 3: you can't tell how the chemistry is. Great chemistry when
- 36:41Speaker 3: she came on my show. Listen, she puts in the work.
- 36:44Speaker 3: You know what I mean? These deep dives she does,
- 36:46Speaker 3: it's no joke. Her T's are crossed and her I's
- 36:51Speaker 3: are dotted. I'm like, man, that takes dedication. So I'm
- 36:55Speaker 3: a huge Meredith fan. I love her. Yeah.
- 36:58Speaker 1: You guys can check her out on both of our
- 37:00Speaker 1: podcasts to hear what she talks about. For me, I
- 37:03Speaker 1: think it's a little different than what she talks about
- 37:05Speaker 1: with you. We talk about our stories of grief. She,
- 37:08Speaker 1: you know, she lost her mother. We talk about her
- 37:10Speaker 1: life and how she got to where she is. And
- 37:12Speaker 1: then we do get into some of the deep dives.
- 37:14Speaker 1: I think on your show, you guys get more into
- 37:16Speaker 1: the pop culture, deep dive stuff.
- 37:19Speaker 3: Bethany, the Zoe. And we did some recapping of Jersey
- 37:22Speaker 3: and Beverly Hills. You know, anyone that wants to recap
- 37:24Speaker 3: can come on my podcast any day.
- 37:26Speaker 2: Go on.
- 37:27Speaker 1: And then another person heading into 2024, Renee Rapp.
- 37:31Speaker 2: Do you know this name? No.
- 37:33Speaker 1: I didn't think you would, but she starred on Broadway
- 37:36Speaker 1: in Mean Girls in the musical. She's the breakout star
- 37:39Speaker 1: from Sex Lives of College Girls, and she released her
- 37:41Speaker 1: album and now stars in Mean Girls the movie as
- 37:45Speaker 1: Regina George. So I know some casting directors who think
- 37:49Speaker 1: she is going to be a huge star.
- 37:51Speaker 2: She already is, but, like, In mainstream news, I think
- 37:54Speaker 2: we are going to know her name in 2024. So
- 37:57Speaker 2: remember that name, Renee Rapp.
- 37:59Speaker 1: We'll revisit this next year, and you'll tell me if
- 38:02Speaker 1: you have now heard of her and you know.
- 38:04Speaker 3: Who I'm talking about. Let me file that away. Yes.
- 38:07Speaker 6: Okay.
- 38:08Speaker 1: Most shocking pop culture event of 2023.
- 38:12Speaker 3: I have two. I have a Bravo and a non-Bravo.
- 38:14Speaker 3: My Bravo is, you know, the Roni reboot. I keep
- 38:18Speaker 3: going back to this. Like, it is in retrospect, what's
- 38:22Speaker 3: the big deal? But we rebooted a whole franchise. We
- 38:25Speaker 3: fired everyone and started over. It's like, that's a big deal.
- 38:28Speaker 3: Remember when that was announced, that everybody was being fired
- 38:31Speaker 3: and we were starting over? The Roni reboot, to me,
- 38:33Speaker 3: is a big— it' s shocking.
- 38:35Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, I agree. What was your second one?
- 38:39Speaker 3: And then just non-Bravo related, to announce the 32nd from
- 38:43Speaker 3: Mars tour, Jared Leto, who is still fucking hot as
- 38:47Speaker 3: hell in his 50s, climbs the Empire State Building. What
- 38:51Speaker 3: the fuck? Do you realize this? Jared Leto climbed the
- 38:54Speaker 3: Empire State Building. Like, for real.
- 38:57Speaker 2: I don't even know what you're talking about. I'm going to.
- 38:58Speaker 3: Have to look this up. 30 seconds from Mars was
- 39:02Speaker 3: going on tour. And to announce the tour, I don't
- 39:04Speaker 3: know how. I mean, you're Jared Leto. Yeah, you have
- 39:06Speaker 3: a team and you get permission. And he literally, he
- 39:09Speaker 3: himself climbed the Empire State Building. I would never want
- 39:13Speaker 3: to do this, but he did it. So there you go.
- 39:17Speaker 3: That's kind of shocking. First person ever, apparently.
- 39:20Speaker 2: Yeah. OK. I had three.
- 39:23Speaker 1: Obviously, Matthew Perry dying. I think that was a huge
- 39:25Speaker 1: shock for a lot of people. Rihanna announcing her pregnancy.
- 39:30Speaker 1: during the Super Bowl halftime show. Not really announcing, but showing.
- 39:33Speaker 1: I think that was like in the press within.
- 39:37Speaker 5: The car is beautiful. Where did you end up going
- 39:40Speaker 5: for it?
- 39:41Speaker 6: This exclusive place that Dad has connections with. They have
- 39:43Speaker 6: more cars for more dealerships than like anywhere else.
- 39:46Speaker 5: You have to put me in touch. What's it called?
- 39:48Speaker 4: It's Dune ADL.
- 39:50Speaker 5: Where?
- 39:52Speaker 3: Dunediel.
- 39:53Speaker 4: There's an accent on the E.
- 39:56Speaker 5: Do you mean.
- 39:57Speaker 4: Yes, I got it on Dunediel Cars.
- 39:58Speaker 2: Lift, please.
- 40:00Speaker 5: You going past Kimmage?
- 40:01Speaker 2: Oh, Kimmage. No.
- 40:04Speaker 4: Dunediel Cars.
- 40:05Speaker 7: You couldn't possibly go anywhere else.
- 40:07Speaker 1: And it's, I remember myself watching and being like, what's happening?
- 40:11Speaker 1: So I thought that was a pretty big deal. And
- 40:13Speaker 1: then I added Amy Roebuck and TJ Holmes, their morning
- 40:17Speaker 1: TV affair and how they got fired. I thought that
- 40:19Speaker 1: that was pretty interesting. And now I believe I've heard
- 40:22Speaker 1: that they're starting a podcast. So they're still going strong.
- 40:26Speaker 1: And did you hear? Their exes dating each other, which
- 40:29Speaker 1: I don't really know if that's true. Maybe there was
- 40:31Speaker 1: a picture of them shot together. I haven't seen that,
- 40:33Speaker 1: but yeah. I'm not convinced that that's a real piece
- 40:37Speaker 1: of gossip, but we will see, I guess, in 2024.
- 40:41Speaker 3: Little Andrew Shue from Melrose Place. I don't know about
- 40:44Speaker 3: that one. It makes no sense, but yes, that's what
- 40:46Speaker 3: they say.
- 40:48Speaker 2: Biggest letdown of 2023. Great.
- 40:51Speaker 3: The biggest letdown for me is maybe if you take
- 40:54Speaker 3: Jersey out of it, maybe if you take Beverly Hills
- 40:56Speaker 3: out of it, all the housewife franchises, it's not what
- 40:59Speaker 3: it used to be. I'm let down by pretty much
- 41:02Speaker 3: every franchise of housewives. I feel we've got to get,
- 41:06Speaker 3: I don't know. I don't know. Listen, things run its course, right?
- 41:10Speaker 2: You want to see some new casting. You want to
- 41:12Speaker 2: see some new storylines. What is it that you feel
- 41:14Speaker 2: like is missing?
- 41:15Speaker 3: I mean, that— look, maybe we're just in a different phase
- 41:20Speaker 3: of life, like Survivor's been on for how many years? Bachelor,
- 41:25Speaker 3: Housewives is like in its 18th, 17th season from RHOC,
- 41:29Speaker 3: from when it started. That's like 20 years. Maybe there's nothing.
- 41:33Speaker 3: I mean, I want to just feel excitement or— You know,
- 41:37Speaker 3: I mean, we had moments with Kathy and Aspen and
- 41:39Speaker 3: Lisa Rinna, but right now today, housewives, the whole thing
- 41:43Speaker 3: for me is a letdown and that there are great seasons.
- 41:47Speaker 3: I think Salt Lake is having the best season, but overall,
- 41:51Speaker 3: it's not what it used to be. And I'm not
- 41:53Speaker 3: sure if we can get that back on track, but
- 41:56Speaker 3: I would like to. What about you?
- 41:59Speaker 1: For me, I would say everybody getting on board to
- 42:03Speaker 1: have Britney's conservatorship end, and then she started to spiral
- 42:08Speaker 1: after that. I think that that was a big letdown.
- 42:11Speaker 1: I think we all thought that we were going to
- 42:13Speaker 1: see this free Britney new person. that is able to
- 42:19Speaker 1: talk for herself and be normal. And then it was
- 42:23Speaker 1: the complete opposite. She was exactly like she had been before,
- 42:27Speaker 1: but got even crazier.
- 42:28Speaker 2: I mean, I still don't understand. And I'm not even
- 42:30Speaker 2: saying this to be funny. With all that money and
- 42:33Speaker 2: the fact that you're on your Instagram so much, why
- 42:36Speaker 2: can't she invest in a good set of hair extensions?
- 42:39Speaker 2: And why has a.
- 42:40Speaker 1: Hair extension company not come to her and said, let
- 42:43Speaker 1: us help you? Same thing with her eye makeup, you know,
- 42:46Speaker 1: her sensible shoes. Like, there are so many ways. She's
- 42:49Speaker 1: always in a bathing suit or underwear. Let's get her
- 42:51Speaker 1: some brand deals. And then the whole thing with the knives. Like,
- 42:54Speaker 1: why was a Cutco knife deal not made? Like, I
- 42:57Speaker 1: just feel like she's missing opportunities left and right. She's
- 42:59Speaker 1: not this hustling girl that, you know, we all want
- 43:03Speaker 1: her to be. I'd love to see her back performing.
- 43:06Speaker 1: I've seen her perform in Vegas. You know, her music.
- 43:09Speaker 2: I still listen to her music in my car when
- 43:11Speaker 2: I'm driving and I sing along. I mean, I love Britney.
- 43:14Speaker 2: So I want the best for her.
- 43:15Speaker 1: But I think we all were let down because we
- 43:17Speaker 1: saw there is some mental health issues going on.
- 43:20Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 43:21Speaker 1: And then in the Bravo sphere, I would say another
- 43:24Speaker 1: letdown was what was it called?
- 43:25Speaker 2: Shitty Creek. What was the thing with Luann and Sonia?
- 43:29Speaker 3: Crappy Lake.
- 43:30Speaker 2: Crappy Lake.
- 43:31Speaker 3: Welcome to Crappy Lake.
- 43:33Speaker 2: Did you watch it? I didn't even know what came out.
- 43:36Speaker 3: It came out. It's coming. It's gone. You know what's
- 43:39Speaker 3: really good, actually, is Real Housewives Girls Trip New York version.
- 43:42Speaker 3: It's shockingly fun. Okay.
- 43:46Speaker 2: Well, you know, I don't know. Was it good? Did
- 43:50Speaker 2: you like it? Shitty Creek? Whatever.
- 43:52Speaker 3: I mean, Luann is my girl, so I always hesitate
- 43:55Speaker 3: when I....
- 43:58Speaker 2: I want her to succeed. I thought that, you know,
- 44:01Speaker 2: if you and I did it, I think we'd have
- 44:02Speaker 2: a lot of fun, but you.
- 44:04Speaker 3: Know, maybe the second season could be you and me. Yeah,
- 44:07Speaker 3: that's right.
- 44:08Speaker 2: Okay. Favorite TV show of 2023.
- 44:12Speaker 3: Selling sunset. Sorry.
- 44:14Speaker 2: Oh, I like that one. I do like that.
- 44:16Speaker 3: So good. I, for everyone who hangs on every word
- 44:19Speaker 3: I say with Bravo, forget it. Go and watch selling sunset.
- 44:22Speaker 3: There you go. Start at season one, watch it all.
- 44:25Speaker 2: Okay, have you seen Jury Duty?
- 44:29Speaker 3: It's funny. I know somebody who was actually in it,
- 44:33Speaker 3: who's been on my podcast, Trisha LaFont. She's a lawyer.
- 44:37Speaker 3: I had her on, I think, to cover Jen Shah's
- 44:40Speaker 3: stuff way back. I've not seen it, but I've heard
- 44:45Speaker 3: it is literally phenomenal.
- 44:46Speaker 1: Okay, for those of you that need something to watch
- 44:49Speaker 1: this break, you should definitely.
- 44:51Speaker 2: stream jury.
- 44:52Speaker 1: Duty it's so good it's about a guy a regular
- 44:55Speaker 1: guy who's called into jury duty he doesn't realize that
- 44:57Speaker 1: it's completely fake it's reality tv everyone is an actor
- 45:01Speaker 1: and um you know it's what happens when things start
- 45:05Speaker 1: to break down it's really good so i thought that
- 45:07Speaker 1: was terrific i'm also a huge love is blind fan
- 45:10Speaker 1: i had a couple people from the show on i've
- 45:12Speaker 1: always been a fan i'm.
- 45:13Speaker 2: I want to be on the show. I want them
- 45:15Speaker 2: to have a show with, again, a little bit older
- 45:17Speaker 2: of a crowd, people who have kids, people who are
- 45:20Speaker 2: single that want a second chance at love. I think
- 45:22Speaker 2: it's great. I believe in the concept of meeting somebody
- 45:25Speaker 2: behind a door. So I like it. What do you say?
- 45:28Speaker 3: Well, you know, this is how things are greenlit in Hollywood.
- 45:31Speaker 3: You know how the biz works. Now that, to your point,
- 45:34Speaker 3: The Golden Bachelor is such a success, we might have
- 45:36Speaker 3: Love is Blind and all these other love shows might
- 45:39Speaker 3: start skewing older, having a golden version.
- 45:42Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean, I don't think it needs to be
- 45:44Speaker 1: a golden version for something like that. But, you know,
- 45:46Speaker 1: for someone who's been divorced, they could be in their
- 45:49Speaker 1: late 30s, 40s, 50s. That's the time when you're ending
- 45:52Speaker 1: your first relationship. You get a lot of people getting
- 45:55Speaker 1: divorced in their late 30s, early 40s.
- 45:57Speaker 2: And then they're trying for something new. They dated for
- 45:59Speaker 2: a while. They haven't found anything.
- 46:00Speaker 1: They have quote unquote baggage because they, you know, are
- 46:03Speaker 1: hung up on old relationships or they have kids or,
- 46:06Speaker 1: you know, whatever their baggage is that other people see
- 46:09Speaker 1: that as. And they just have not been able to
- 46:11Speaker 1: find the right one. They're a different person than they
- 46:13Speaker 1: were when they were 20, when it was kind of carefree.
- 46:16Speaker 1: Now your life is about paying bills and, you know,
- 46:19Speaker 1: dealing with the mortgage and dealing with, you know, your
- 46:21Speaker 1: home homeowner stuff and, dealing with kids' school, and it's
- 46:24Speaker 1: less sexy.
- 46:25Speaker 2: Than it is when you're in your 20s.
- 46:26Speaker 1: So I would love something like that because I think
- 46:30Speaker 1: it would be perfect for me because I have a
- 46:31Speaker 1: hard time finding a guy in a normal way.
- 46:34Speaker 2: So would you do it if they had a gay version?
- 46:38Speaker 3: Yeah, why not? I mean, I'm a little wary of
- 46:42Speaker 3: meeting someone without seeing them, but sure, let's go for it.
- 46:47Speaker 3: Why not? Right.
- 46:48Speaker 2: Okay, last couple questions here.
- 46:49Speaker 1: Who is your best guest of 2023 that we should
- 46:54Speaker 1: all listen, go back and listen to that podcast episode?
- 46:57Speaker 3: I mean, listen, probably my second biggest hit of the
- 47:01Speaker 3: year was your and my friend, Bo Dietl. That's probably
- 47:05Speaker 3: my second biggest hit. thing of the whole year. But
- 47:08Speaker 3: my number one real breakout moment, I don't know if
- 47:11Speaker 3: breakout moment is the right word when you're in your
- 47:13Speaker 3: fourth year, but one of my favorite guests and probably
- 47:15Speaker 3: one of the biggest moments was Juicy Joe Giudice. We
- 47:18Speaker 3: love Joe Giudice, Teresa's ex. He's such a gentle bear.
- 47:23Speaker 3: He's so sweet. And he's a hard guest to get.
- 47:26Speaker 3: And he, look, I mean, the man went through, he
- 47:29Speaker 3: was in ice before being deported. Like, this is like,
- 47:32Speaker 3: you talk about real life stuff. I love Juicy Joe.
- 47:36Speaker 3: He's my best favorite guest of the year.
- 47:38Speaker 1: Okay. So my favorite guest, I mean, I have a ton.
- 47:42Speaker 1: I have so many. I'm guest driven. So I have
- 47:45Speaker 1: a guest twice a week with a different story about
- 47:48Speaker 1: a different topic that, I will say for your listeners,
- 47:52Speaker 1: the biggest guest who I love, I'm still friends with,
- 47:54Speaker 1: I talk to him a couple times a week, is
- 47:56Speaker 1: Mike Shuhat from the Shaws of Sunset. Now, people love
- 47:59Speaker 1: to hate on this guy, but that's the perfect opportunity
- 48:01Speaker 1: for him to come on my show and talk about
- 48:03Speaker 1: why he's misunderstood. He tells a lot of bombs. He
- 48:08Speaker 1: talks about bombshell stories. He talks about his arrest, the
- 48:12Speaker 1: domestic violence accusations. He talks about why the show was canceled. Um,
- 48:16Speaker 1: he talks about his time on the show, how he
- 48:18Speaker 1: got on the show. It was one of my best episodes.
- 48:21Speaker 1: It's he's very good. And just so you guys know,
- 48:23Speaker 1: he's starting a podcast. It's going to, um, drop in
- 48:26Speaker 1: January of 2024, I guess I'm going to be a
- 48:29Speaker 1: guest on a show eventually in the first couple, um, episodes,
- 48:32Speaker 1: I think, but I really like him as a person.
- 48:35Speaker 1: I know some people have a hard time with him,
- 48:37Speaker 1: but when you get to know him, I think that
- 48:38Speaker 1: you will really like him. So Anyway, that was one
- 48:41Speaker 1: of the guests that I thought you would appreciate. The
- 48:44Speaker 1: second one I want to talk about is my guest.
- 48:47Speaker 2: His name is Jay Godfrey. He owns a place called
- 48:50Speaker 2: New Shama.
- 48:51Speaker 1: The reason I'm bringing that up, it was, again, one
- 48:53Speaker 1: of my top episodes, but it's about ketamine as a
- 48:56Speaker 1: treatment for depression and PTSD. And why that's important now
- 49:00Speaker 1: is because they're saying that part of the cause of
- 49:03Speaker 1: death for Matthew Perry was because he used ketamine and
- 49:06Speaker 1: ended up drowning. So I'm going to actually do a
- 49:10Speaker 1: repeat of my episode with Jay Godfrey on January 1st
- 49:15Speaker 1: because it was such a good episode.
- 49:17Speaker 2: It breaks down what ketamine is, what happens... when you
- 49:20Speaker 2: abuse it, what.
- 49:21Speaker 1: Happens when you use it in a positive way. Um,
- 49:24Speaker 1: and he has a treatment clinic in New York where
- 49:26Speaker 1: you can go sit in and for, you know, an hour,
- 49:29Speaker 1: get this ketamine treatment and change your life kind of,
- 49:32Speaker 1: and then leave. So we break all that down. I
- 49:34Speaker 1: ask all the questions I know you want to ask
- 49:37Speaker 1: about it. And, you know, I just think it's such
- 49:40Speaker 1: a good episode. So I hope people listen to it
- 49:42Speaker 1: and they can go back and listen to it in
- 49:43Speaker 1: the past or they can listen to, you know, it'll
- 49:46Speaker 1: be on the top of my list for January 1st.
- 49:50Speaker 3: No one loves a good repeat more than me. I
- 49:52Speaker 3: love issuing my repeats. There's so much lost on the
- 49:54Speaker 3: back feed. When you get to like thousands of episodes,
- 49:56Speaker 3: you got to issue those repeats. I'm all about it.
- 49:59Speaker 2: It's so true.
- 50:00Speaker 1: So people shouldn't look at, at repeats. That's something like, Oh,
- 50:02Speaker 1: we don't want to put out new content.
- 50:04Speaker 2: Not at all. We just love our content so much.
- 50:06Speaker 2: We want people.
- 50:07Speaker 3: They're lost. Yeah.
- 50:08Speaker 1: That weren't listeners back then to hear what we were
- 50:11Speaker 1: doing because, you know, some of those episodes, like I
- 50:13Speaker 1: did one of my first two episodes or three episodes with,
- 50:16Speaker 1: was with Perez Hilton and, Some of the stuff that
- 50:19Speaker 1: comes out of his mouth is so interesting, you know,
- 50:22Speaker 1: because he got canceled for a while there. And he
- 50:25Speaker 1: really talks about taking ownership of that.
- 50:27Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 50:27Speaker 2: There are so many good things that I love in there.
- 50:29Speaker 2: So is there a guest that you want in 2024?
- 50:33Speaker 3: I mean, this question is so hard because it's like,
- 50:36Speaker 3: are we living in reality or are we just living
- 50:38Speaker 3: in like anything is possible? Because if we're living in
- 50:41Speaker 3: anything is possible, Madonna. That's who I would like.
- 50:45Speaker 6: Okay.
- 50:45Speaker 2: In reality, who do you want in 2024?
- 50:48Speaker 3: Isn't that a good question? You know, probably I'd go
- 50:53Speaker 3: to Beverly Hills Housewives, maybe like Erika Jayne. a Kyle
- 50:59Speaker 3: Jane probably.
- 51:00Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 51:01Speaker 3: But I think I would take Erica probably out of
- 51:03Speaker 3: all of them. I've had Sutton.
- 51:05Speaker 2: I was going to say, have you ever had Sutton?
- 51:07Speaker 3: I like her. I've had Sutton. Like a lot of
- 51:09Speaker 3: times I've had crystal Erica, just cause like, I feel
- 51:13Speaker 3: Erica really is in this type of setting.
- 51:16Speaker 6: Honest.
- 51:16Speaker 3: If you can believe that I'll probably get hate for
- 51:18Speaker 3: saying that, but I feel like Erica would be like
- 51:21Speaker 3: a real honest interview. Okay.
- 51:24Speaker 2: Okay.
- 51:25Speaker 3: But Madonna, really.
- 51:27Speaker 6: Okay.
- 51:27Speaker 2: For me, I would like Conrad Murray. He is the
- 51:31Speaker 2: doctor who was held responsible for killing Michael Jackson.
- 51:35Speaker 1: He has come out and said over the years that
- 51:38Speaker 1: it was not his fault that he left the room
- 51:40Speaker 1: to take a call from his girlfriend. And Michael, who
- 51:44Speaker 1: had not fallen asleep from the propofol, upped the amount.
- 51:47Speaker 1: And he didn't know because he wasn't in the room.
- 51:50Speaker 1: But there are so many questions to ask this guy.
- 51:53Speaker 2: Listen, I... I grew up on Michael Jackson. I love
- 51:57Speaker 2: Michael Jackson. I want to know what happened to him.
- 51:58Speaker 1: And I'd love to talk to the guy who was
- 52:00Speaker 1: in the room with him when he died or was present.
- 52:03Speaker 2: You know, so to me, that's a huge guest.
- 52:06Speaker 3: I believe my team has reached out to him before,
- 52:08Speaker 3: like two years ago. And I believe if you have 50,000
- 52:11Speaker 3: that you can wire him, he will be your guest tomorrow.
- 52:14Speaker 2: That is true. Actually, myself did talk to him last year.
- 52:18Speaker 1: Started my podcast, he and his people. And they said
- 52:22Speaker 1: that he would do it for 50,000. You are correct.
- 52:25Speaker 3: There you go.
- 52:25Speaker 2: I don't pay my guests. I don't know if you do.
- 52:28Speaker 2: I don't think you do.
- 52:30Speaker 1: We don't need to people that want to come on
- 52:32Speaker 1: and tell their story or promote whatever business they're promoting
- 52:35Speaker 1: or show want to come on and talk. And when
- 52:37Speaker 1: you pay someone, it takes the conversation a little bit.
- 52:40Speaker 1: So I, I do not believe in doing that.
- 52:42Speaker 3: Me either.
- 52:43Speaker 2: So we'll see what happens. All right. Last question. What
- 52:47Speaker 2: do you want to see happen in pop culture in 2024?
- 52:49Speaker 2: I would like Cher to.
- 52:50Speaker 3: Go on tour.
- 52:55Speaker 2: Ooh, that's a good one.
- 52:56Speaker 3: She has the new Christmas album. She just did so
- 52:58Speaker 3: much press. I mean, this woman, you would think she
- 53:02Speaker 3: was 20. She literally was in every country plugging this
- 53:06Speaker 3: Christmas album. Number one Christmas album. She's now the only
- 53:10Speaker 3: person that has had a number one song in seven decades.
- 53:14Speaker 3: I just feel Cher wants to be back out there
- 53:18Speaker 3: and do another residency in Vegas forever. Like I want,
- 53:22Speaker 3: this is like, this was like a little catnip for me.
- 53:25Speaker 3: I want some share in my life for 2024. And
- 53:29Speaker 3: I hope Housewives gets better. What do you hope?
- 53:32Speaker 2: Maybe they'll announce a new show for the Housewives, you know,
- 53:35Speaker 2: like a new area. I'm in Palm Beach. You're in
- 53:39Speaker 2: the Hamptons.
- 53:41Speaker 3: Should we do a Palm Beach Hamptons Housewives? Yeah.
- 53:45Speaker 2: I mean, I think that they're ready for like a
- 53:47Speaker 2: new place.
- 53:48Speaker 3: Franchise.
- 53:49Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 53:49Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 53:50Speaker 1: You know, I think that I'd like to see some
- 53:53Speaker 1: exciting marriage announcement, you know, proposal like.
- 54:00Speaker 2: Jewel is now dating. What's his name?
- 54:04Speaker 3: Tom Brady.
- 54:05Speaker 2: No, from Yellowstone. And I'll think of his name in
- 54:10Speaker 2: a second, but he.
- 54:11Speaker 3: I don't know why I said Tom Brady. No.
- 54:13Speaker 2: Who's the guy from. Oh, my God. You guys listeners
- 54:17Speaker 2: know who I'm talking about.
- 54:17Speaker 3: But anyway, I don't watch Yellowstone.
- 54:20Speaker 1: Well, do you watch, you know, he just broke up
- 54:22Speaker 1: with his wife and it was, you know, she wanted
- 54:26Speaker 1: $ 200 million.
- 54:27Speaker 3: Kevin Costner.
- 54:28Speaker 2: Yes, thank you. Oh, my God.
- 54:30Speaker 3: See, I knew it was one of the major bachelors
- 54:32Speaker 3: that just got, I see I was close with Tom Brady,
- 54:34Speaker 3: but yes. Yeah.
- 54:35Speaker 1: That would be fun to have like some big wedding
- 54:38Speaker 1: or Travis and Taylor. I would love to see that
- 54:40Speaker 1: proposal happen. So maybe a proposal will happen for you
- 54:43Speaker 1: and I, not together.
- 54:45Speaker 3: Maybe, but we would have to start dating someone like
- 54:47Speaker 3: right now, probably like today.
- 54:49Speaker 1: Well, listen, folks, people that have no hope, you never
- 54:53Speaker 1: know what's going to happen on any given day. You
- 54:55Speaker 1: can wake up and your life can change. You can
- 54:56Speaker 1: run into somebody at the supermarket. So never give up hope.
- 55:00Speaker 1: 2024 can be a great year. You can get married.
- 55:02Speaker 1: You can change your job. You can, you know.
- 55:05Speaker 2: I don't know. Something exciting can happen. It's always on
- 55:07Speaker 2: the horizon. So don't give up. What are you doing
- 55:10Speaker 2: for New Year's, David?
- 55:12Speaker 3: Believe it or not, I'm going to be in the
- 55:14Speaker 3: Hamptons and I'm going to go to Tudor El Jorno,
- 55:17Speaker 3: which is just on Main Street. Like it's that's the
- 55:20Speaker 3: place to go. And it will be like a party,
- 55:22Speaker 3: but casual. And I'm going to walk home like I'm
- 55:25Speaker 3: OK to stay home for New Year's. What are you doing?
- 55:28Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm not really a New Year's person. I'm going
- 55:30Speaker 1: to be in Palm Beach. My best friend is coming
- 55:33Speaker 1: to visit me from New York, Tim, and we are
- 55:37Speaker 1: going to have a really fun time.
- 55:39Speaker 3: Are you staying in?
- 55:41Speaker 2: No, I think I'm hoping he will convince me to
- 55:44Speaker 2: go out and do something fun. So he's my gay
- 55:48Speaker 2: friend from New York. He always makes it more fun
- 55:50Speaker 2: when he's around. We've shared a whole history of stories
- 55:53Speaker 2: and fun parties and things for, you know, I don't know,
- 55:57Speaker 2: probably 20 years now.
- 55:58Speaker 1: So it'll be fun to share this year with him.
- 56:01Speaker 1: And you never know what's going to happen. So we're
- 56:03Speaker 1: going to pray for some magic and love this year
- 56:07Speaker 1: and good things to happen with our podcast. So I
- 56:10Speaker 1: wish you the best of luck. And, you know, oh,
- 56:13Speaker 1: do you have one New Year's resolution you want to
- 56:15Speaker 1: tell me about?
- 56:18Speaker 3: Just to like, I mean, I'm already doing this, but
- 56:21Speaker 3: really just like, Don't care. Like, nothing matters. Like, it's true.
- 56:26Speaker 3: Nothing really matters, as Madonna says. All you need is
- 56:29Speaker 3: your health. Nothing else matters. Everything else just rolls off you. Like,
- 56:34Speaker 3: it doesn't matter. You can come in. Listen, Rachel, you
- 56:38Speaker 3: can't control people's actions. You can only control your reactions.
- 56:41Speaker 3: So whatever happens, if it's not health-related, who the fuck cares?
- 56:46Speaker 3: I live by that, but that is my New Year's
- 56:48Speaker 3: resolution to stay to that. What is yours?
- 56:50Speaker 1: For me, I had a great guest on who was
- 56:52Speaker 1: talking about being present in the moment.
- 56:54Speaker 2: And being open to things. And for me, a lot
- 56:56Speaker 2: of the reason why I haven't maybe met the right
- 56:59Speaker 2: person or jumped on some opportunities is because I'm a
- 57:02Speaker 2: little bit closed off. When you go to the supermarket,
- 57:04Speaker 2: do you have a hat on? Are you looking down?
- 57:06Speaker 2: Are you not trying to talk to people?
- 57:07Speaker 1: You know, that's kind of how I walk through my
- 57:09Speaker 1: life because I like my life. I have my little,
- 57:13Speaker 1: you know, life all compacted together, but I need to
- 57:16Speaker 1: make myself more available and approachable. And I think that
- 57:21Speaker 1: would help me in a lot of aspects of my life.
- 57:23Speaker 1: And I think it would just make me happier maybe. So,
- 57:27Speaker 1: you know, anyways, I think that for me, my resolution
- 57:30Speaker 1: is to just be more present in situations where I'm
- 57:34Speaker 1: more approachable.
- 57:35Speaker 3: So, yeah. Put your phone down, be present for those
- 57:38Speaker 3: in front of you. Yes, that is right.
- 57:41Speaker 1: All right, David, thank you so much. I am so
- 57:44Speaker 1: happy that I had you in my life for 2023.
- 57:46Speaker 1: I'm looking forward to having you in my home in
- 57:49Speaker 1: Florida in 2024. And so we can do a live
- 57:52Speaker 1: podcast together, but I wish you the best. I love
- 57:55Speaker 1: you dearly and happy new year.
- 57:59Speaker 3: This is to you. See you soon.

- 58:42Speaker 5: The car is beautiful. Where did you end up going
- 58:45Speaker 5: for it?
- 58:45Speaker 6: This exclusive place that Dad has connections with. They have
- 58:48Speaker 6: more cars for more dealerships than like anywhere else.
- 58:51Speaker 5: You have to put me in touch. What's it called?
- 58:53Speaker 4: It's Dunaidial.
- 58:55Speaker 3: Where?
- 58:57Speaker 4: Dunaidial. There's an accent on the E.
- 59:01Speaker 5: Do you mean.
- 59:01Speaker 4: Yes, I got it on Done Deal Cars.
- 59:03Speaker 3: Lift, please.
- 59:04Speaker 5: You're going past Kimmage?
- 59:06Speaker 3: Oh, Kimmage. No.
- 59:08Speaker 7: Done Deal Cars. You couldn't possibly go anywhere else.
