Transcript
- 0:10Speaker 1: Okay, you bozos out there, this is Stephen Chiodo, and
- 0:12Speaker 1: you're listening to Movie Meltdown.
- 0:25Speaker 2: It's showtime.
- 0:26Speaker 3: The following feature has been rated R by the Motion
- 0:29Speaker 3: Picture Association of America.
- 0:30Speaker 4: It is intended for mature audiences and parental discretion is advised.
- 0:35Speaker 2: Our nuclear reactor pumping out one million kilowatts of power.
- 1:11Speaker 5: I now declare this frickin' idiot convention open!
- 1:24Speaker 6: What's up and welcome to Movie Meltdown. I'm Brian.
- 1:26Speaker 2: I'm Misty. And I'm Jay.
- 1:30Speaker 6: And we are once again in a vehicle.
- 1:31Speaker 7: We've decided to give the road trip Officially on the
- 1:35Speaker 7: road version.
- 1:37Speaker 6: Another shot. I'm a boom girl. We are in the car.
- 1:41Speaker 7: Misty's operating as boom girl with the mic for both
- 1:44Speaker 7: her and Jay.
- 1:45Speaker 6: She's pretty excited about this new job.
- 1:47Speaker 8: It's not fuzzy at all like the ones you see
- 1:48Speaker 8: on TV.
- 1:49Speaker 6: Well, those are high dollar ones. We're poor.
- 1:51Speaker 2: Nor does it have a stick.
- 1:53Speaker 6: I'm sorry. Your arm is the stick.
- 1:56Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:57Speaker 8: We had to pull over off the side of the
- 1:58Speaker 8: road and get a stick. It wouldn't be the first time. What?
- 2:04Speaker 6: You just want to go play in the random crap
- 2:06Speaker 6: on the side of the highway.
- 2:07Speaker 8: Not in particular.
- 2:09Speaker 6: And dead things and poke them with a stick or
- 2:11Speaker 6: whatever it is you do. Yeah, I do that. So,
- 2:16Speaker 6: we are on the road to some random convention in Indianapolis, so.
- 2:20Speaker 7: Whose name shall not be mentioned, apparently. So, yeah, with that, um,
- 2:25Speaker 7: we can get into geek activities. Do you want me
- 2:27Speaker 7: to go or do you have stuff or.
- 2:29Speaker 6: You can go first.
- 2:30Speaker 7: Uh, I don't have a ton that I haven't already
- 2:32Speaker 7: talked about, um... You guys should have a backlog, because
- 2:35Speaker 7: it's been a while. I'm here every week, so I
- 2:36Speaker 7: have to go, God, I haven't watched anything since last week. So,
- 2:40Speaker 7: thinking the one movie, I was kind of... There's still
- 2:44Speaker 7: that ongoing list that everybody has, but as a geek,
- 2:48Speaker 7: you start going, God, I can't believe I haven't seen that.
- 2:51Speaker 6: Or you listen to people talk about it, and you're like.
- 2:52Speaker 8: One friend hasn't seen Casablanca yet.
- 2:54Speaker 6: See, that's what I'm saying.
- 2:55Speaker 7: It's like, there's stuff that you even want to see,
- 2:57Speaker 7: but you just haven't gotten around to it. So, I
- 3:00Speaker 7: finally got one of those this past week. I watched
- 3:04Speaker 7: The French Connection, which I had been wanting to watch
- 3:08Speaker 7: forever and just had not gotten around to it for
- 3:10Speaker 7: one reason or another. I don't know why, but I'd
- 3:12Speaker 7: always meant to watch it and just hadn't gotten around
- 3:15Speaker 7: to it.
- 3:15Speaker 8: I don't think I know enough about the concept of
- 3:17Speaker 8: it to really carry it.
- 3:19Speaker 6: It's pretty good.
- 3:20Speaker 7: Again, I think it's almost built up so much as
- 3:24Speaker 7: the type of movie it is and everything. And I've
- 3:27Speaker 7: heard so much about one specific scene, basically.
- 3:30Speaker 6: The car chase. So they, they, you know, they, all
- 3:33Speaker 6: that stuff was sort of built up.
- 3:34Speaker 7: So I got there and I think it was a
- 3:35Speaker 7: little different than I expected, but still kind of amazing
- 3:40Speaker 7: in its own weird way.
- 3:41Speaker 9: I don't know.
- 3:42Speaker 7: I just kind of like like weird, especially like city
- 3:46Speaker 7: based crime dramas in the seventies, like seventies was just
- 3:49Speaker 7: such a weird, different feel. Especially for, like, those, you know,
- 3:54Speaker 7: anything they set in New York or a big city
- 3:56Speaker 7: and anything that's, like, centering around a cop or, you know,
- 4:00Speaker 7: one of those situations.
- 4:01Speaker 6: There seem to be a lot of those. But, I
- 4:03Speaker 6: don't know, they just have their own feel.
- 4:05Speaker 7: And I think just the country at that time had
- 4:08Speaker 7: its own feel and the movies definitely reflect it.
- 4:10Speaker 6: So it was kind of cool just seeing that.
- 4:12Speaker 8: I usually really don't like those kinds of things.
- 4:15Speaker 6: You're wrong.
- 4:17Speaker 8: No, I don't. You say it like crime.
- 4:21Speaker 2: What does it look like?
- 4:22Speaker 6: Like crime movies or cop movies?
- 4:25Speaker 8: I don't really like crime or that kind of movies.
- 4:28Speaker 8: I like horror movies. And that just seems boring to me.
- 4:31Speaker 8: Most movies in the 70s just end up pissing me off.
- 4:35Speaker 2: I do. You piss me off. Whatever. Why are you
- 4:39Speaker 2: living with me then? Because you pay the bills. I
- 4:44Speaker 2: think I've seen The French Connection, but.
- 4:45Speaker 6: I can't remember.
- 4:46Speaker 2: I might have.
- 4:46Speaker 6: It's Gene Hackman.
- 4:47Speaker 2: Might have been a long time ago.
- 4:49Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 4:50Speaker 7: And that's kind of what's, I mean, if it just
- 4:52Speaker 7: was handed to anybody, well, I mean, it's got a
- 4:55Speaker 7: good director, too.
- 4:55Speaker 6: It looks good. But Gene Hackman, like, relatively, well, again,
- 5:00Speaker 6: he was one of those that was always kind of old.
- 5:01Speaker 7: Like, he started off 40. But this is, like, the
- 5:04Speaker 7: young 40-year-old Gene Hackman. And he's still, like, you forget
- 5:09Speaker 7: because you kind of see him in older roles, but
- 5:11Speaker 7: you forget he was kind of a badass when he
- 5:13Speaker 7: was young. Like, he was, even if he didn't physically
- 5:15Speaker 7: fit the roles, like, he just had such an attitude
- 5:18Speaker 7: and would just, like, and mouth off to anybody and
- 5:21Speaker 7: just like in the old movies he just punched people
- 5:23Speaker 7: in the face and like and that's I mean here
- 5:25Speaker 7: he's like a he's a kind of a loose cannon
- 5:28Speaker 7: cop in the 70s and he's just like shaking people
- 5:30Speaker 7: down and smacking people around and like kind of does
- 5:33Speaker 7: whatever the hell he wants and it's it's really interesting
- 5:36Speaker 7: seeing Gene Hackman in general do that but especially like
- 5:40Speaker 7: him in that era when he was still kind of
- 5:42Speaker 7: a badass and known for doing these unconventional roles I'm
- 5:47Speaker 7: not buying.
- 5:48Speaker 8: It Like I said, most movies from the 70s, I
- 5:52Speaker 8: don't like the feel of it. They always feel just like,
- 5:54Speaker 8: I don't know. They all have the same feel.
- 5:58Speaker 6: Too gritty.
- 5:59Speaker 8: But not in a fun way. It just seems like, ugh.
- 6:01Speaker 6: See, I don't know. I like the grittiness of them.
- 6:04Speaker 7: Again, I don't think I want to live there in
- 6:06Speaker 7: the real world, but within the context of watching the movie,
- 6:09Speaker 7: I like the weird tone that it has and the
- 6:13Speaker 7: grittiness and the fact that everything is, everybody's kind of
- 6:17Speaker 7: out to get them, especially in something like this. You
- 6:19Speaker 7: watch him like, And everybody is against him because he's
- 6:22Speaker 7: a cop. So everybody he meets on the street, he
- 6:24Speaker 7: just assumes is, you know, up to something, on drugs,
- 6:27Speaker 7: you know, selling something, stealing something. I mean, he just,
- 6:30Speaker 7: everybody is like an enemy to him except for the
- 6:34Speaker 7: few people that, you know, he works with.
- 6:36Speaker 6: And even half of those guys he kind of hates.
- 6:38Speaker 7: Again, being that kind of cop, you know, like he
- 6:41Speaker 7: rubs everybody the wrong way. So he's got, actually, Roy
- 6:44Speaker 7: Schreider is his partner. So it's kind of a cool
- 6:47Speaker 7: watching those two together, too. They've got kind of a
- 6:50Speaker 7: A good chemistry with both of them, especially back in
- 6:53Speaker 7: the 70s.
- 6:54Speaker 6: It's kind of both of them at their peak. I
- 6:55Speaker 6: don't know.
- 6:57Speaker 7: It's fun watching them together. But, yeah, even the other
- 6:59Speaker 7: cops kind of hate them. So it's one of those kind.
- 7:03Speaker 2: Of cop movies.
- 7:04Speaker 8: Yeah, I don't like cop movies.
- 7:07Speaker 6: I don't know what to do with you.
- 7:08Speaker 2: There are certain ones I can sit through. Some of
- 7:10Speaker 2: them kind of get boring. But, I mean, you know,
- 7:12Speaker 2: old cop movies like, you know, Serpico, stuff like that.
- 7:15Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 7:15Speaker 7: That was one of them I was thinking, like the
- 7:17Speaker 7: early Dirty Harry, Serpico.
- 7:19Speaker 6: It's like that kind of stuff is just kind of awesome.
- 7:21Speaker 2: Yeah, but I mean that's kind of, maybe it's because
- 7:23Speaker 2: we kind of grew up watching that. Well, snuck around
- 7:28Speaker 2: and watched as kids, you know, not necessarily got to
- 7:32Speaker 2: actually watch it when our parents were around. But I
- 7:34Speaker 2: mean every once in a while the edited version would
- 7:36Speaker 2: come on TV and you would sit and watch it.
- 7:40Speaker 2: More or less just watched it for the violence.
- 7:43Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 7:43Speaker 2: Just wanted to see people get blown away.
- 7:45Speaker 7: Well, in this one, its main big selling point, and
- 7:49Speaker 7: that's the thing, it is like the car chase scene.
- 7:50Speaker 6: And the car chase is cool.
- 7:52Speaker 7: It's not what I expected because I'm used to modern day, well,
- 7:55Speaker 7: probably more like 80s car chases where it's a car
- 7:58Speaker 7: chasing a car. He's trying to catch a guy on
- 8:01Speaker 7: a subway. He's chasing a subway car in a car.
- 8:05Speaker 6: And it's like, it's an L. Is he in the subway? No,
- 8:08Speaker 6: I mean, he's on the street in a car.
- 8:09Speaker 2: He's on the street, yeah.
- 8:10Speaker 6: The other guy's trying to get away on the subway.
- 8:12Speaker 2: If it was modern day, he would be chasing the
- 8:15Speaker 2: subway in a car through the subway.
- 8:19Speaker 7: Well, no, he's mostly on streets. And it's like an L,
- 8:21Speaker 7: so it's like riding above. And he's like trying to
- 8:24Speaker 7: keep in sight of, you know, which one he's chasing
- 8:26Speaker 7: and ramming.
- 8:27Speaker 6: And that's the thing.
- 8:28Speaker 7: Once it got started, I was like, eh, it's not
- 8:30Speaker 7: as big a deal. And then as you get into it,
- 8:32Speaker 7: I'm like, okay, yeah.
- 8:34Speaker 6: He's just like... Beats the hell out of that car.
- 8:37Speaker 2: What car is he driving? Is it like a Maverick
- 8:39Speaker 2: or something?
- 8:40Speaker 6: Well, that's the thing. It's not even his car.
- 8:43Speaker 2: He commandeers it?
- 8:44Speaker 6: He flags down some guy. He's like, I need a car.
- 8:46Speaker 2: And just beats the fuck out of it. I'm in
- 8:49Speaker 2: the police business. I'm commandeering your car.
- 8:52Speaker 6: I'm going to go destroy your car. Hand it over.
- 8:54Speaker 6: So that's fun. And yeah, as you get into it,
- 8:57Speaker 6: you see, because it's got a lot of stuff done.
- 8:59Speaker 2: POV.
- 9:00Speaker 6: From a car.
- 9:01Speaker 7: Careening into things so it's like that's kind of cool
- 9:04Speaker 7: and I don't think people would see again when I
- 9:06Speaker 7: started putting it into perspective I was like at that
- 9:08Speaker 7: point you had like bullet. But other than that, like,
- 9:11Speaker 7: you didn't have a lot of car... We hadn't gotten in... Yeah,
- 9:15Speaker 7: it's like we hadn't gotten into that, like, run of 80s, like, over-the-top, gratuitous,
- 9:20Speaker 7: stupid car chasing that we're used to.
- 9:22Speaker 6: So this was still.
- 9:23Speaker 2: Sort of a new thing for people, so... Anytime I
- 9:25Speaker 2: think about the cops commandeering cars, I always think back
- 9:28Speaker 2: to So I Married an Axe Murderer, where he said,
- 9:31Speaker 2: I'm gonna have to commandeer your car, and the guy goes, no,
- 9:33Speaker 2: you're not. He goes, I'm a cop. I need to
- 9:36Speaker 2: take this vehicle, and he goes... i happen to know
- 9:38Speaker 2: for a fact that you cannot commandeer my vehicle he
- 9:42Speaker 2: just argues with the cop to the point where the
- 9:44Speaker 2: cop's like can you please give me a.
- 9:45Speaker 7: Ride see you think eventually that's gonna have to happen
- 9:49Speaker 7: yeah somebody will just be like i don't i don't
- 9:51Speaker 7: think i want to do.
- 9:52Speaker 6: That so that's most of what I've been watching.
- 9:58Speaker 7: The only other thing, and I was going to see
- 9:59Speaker 7: if you'd seen it, another one of those that I,
- 10:03Speaker 7: actually I even taped this thing.
- 10:04Speaker 6: I remember when it was on TV. It was the
- 10:06Speaker 6: biggest deal in.
- 10:07Speaker 7: The world at the time. And I taped it as
- 10:09Speaker 7: one of those, I think I wasn't going to be
- 10:11Speaker 7: home or I was working or whatever the hell I
- 10:13Speaker 7: was doing. And I taped it and just never went
- 10:15Speaker 7: back and watched it. So now I'm watching The Stand.
- 10:18Speaker 2: Oh, yeah.
- 10:19Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 10:20Speaker 8: Dude, I love Corin Nemec.
- 10:22Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 10:22Speaker 7: Once I got to him on the run down there,
- 10:24Speaker 7: I was like, oh, shit.
- 10:25Speaker 6: Hell, yes. Misty's going to be all about this.
- 10:27Speaker 8: I've seen that, but it's been years. My favorite part was,
- 10:30Speaker 8: I like the other guy better, though.
- 10:31Speaker 6: The guy.
- 10:34Speaker 8: Who played Max.
- 10:34Speaker 2: Hedrell was in it.
- 10:36Speaker 6: Oh, Matt Brewer, I think. Matt Brewer, I think.
- 10:38Speaker 2: I love it.
- 10:39Speaker 8: Me and my mom, we used to watch that. Have
- 10:41Speaker 8: you watched.
- 10:42Speaker 6: The whole thing?
- 10:43Speaker 8: No.
- 10:44Speaker 6: That's the thing.
- 10:44Speaker 7: I hardly ever get a chance to watch it, and
- 10:46Speaker 7: it's freaking long. So I'm only about a fourth in.
- 10:48Speaker 7: I'm that first night in of the miniseries.
- 10:51Speaker 8: Oh, then you haven't got to the, my life for you.
- 10:55Speaker 9: No.
- 10:56Speaker 2: Oh, my God.
- 10:57Speaker 6: I don't remember anything of the stand.
- 11:00Speaker 2: Molly ringwald in the stand yeah unfortunately that might have
- 11:04Speaker 2: been the only reason why i watched it because i
- 11:05Speaker 2: had the hots for molly see.
- 11:06Speaker 7: I was the opposite i think that's what deterred me
- 11:09Speaker 7: for a while i was like but.
- 11:11Speaker 6: Gary sinise is awesome but molly ringwald's in it i
- 11:14Speaker 6: don't know.
- 11:14Speaker 8: And corin nemig i love me some corin nemig he's
- 11:18Speaker 8: so i follow him on the twitter now which i hate.
- 11:21Speaker 7: The twitter yeah i'm still not really big on twitter
- 11:24Speaker 7: it's useful on occasion but It's not fun, really.
- 11:27Speaker 8: I'm on there just so I can follow people like
- 11:29Speaker 8: Corin Nemec and Norman Reedus and Sean Patrick Flannery. But yeah,
- 11:36Speaker 8: Corin Nemec, he's so dreamy. He's kind of nerdy in
- 11:38Speaker 8: that movie.
- 11:39Speaker 6: He's super nerdy in that movie.
- 11:40Speaker 2: Oh yeah, very greasy.
- 11:42Speaker 8: His hair has that nice little matted down greasy look
- 11:45Speaker 8: to it.
- 11:45Speaker 9: Hell yeah.
- 11:47Speaker 2: Yeah, it's a long book.
- 11:48Speaker 8: I read the book once. I remember it had 1,038 pages.
- 11:50Speaker 8: It's the longest book I've ever read in my entire life,
- 11:54Speaker 8: and I can't guarantee it made a goddamn bit of sense.
- 11:56Speaker 6: It's a long damn book. It's a long damn miniseries.
- 12:00Speaker 8: My mom got so mad at me because she was
- 12:01Speaker 8: trying to record it when it was on TV, and
- 12:04Speaker 8: apparently I changed the channel on the VCR to MTV
- 12:07Speaker 8: so that when it kicked on to record the stand,
- 12:10Speaker 8: it ended up recording. This was back when MTV actually
- 12:13Speaker 8: played music videos. So, yeah, it was, like, I might
- 12:17Speaker 8: have been, like.
- 12:20Speaker 6: You were taping Headbangers Ball, don't lie.
- 12:22Speaker 8: What was the beach party thing that they always had?
- 12:25Speaker 8: Dan Cortez? I think it was when Simon Rex was on.
- 12:27Speaker 8: Wasn't Simon Rex a VJ for a while?
- 12:30Speaker 6: I don't remember. This was a while ago, though, so,
- 12:33Speaker 6: I mean, I don't know.
- 12:34Speaker 8: Oh, whatever. I don't know. I was still in elementary school.
- 12:39Speaker 8: And I recorded MTV instead of her stand, and she
- 12:42Speaker 8: was not.
- 12:43Speaker 2: Too happy with me.
- 12:45Speaker 6: I would guess not.
- 12:46Speaker 8: But, yeah, I remember liking the stand.
- 12:50Speaker 6: Again, I think I went in with low expectations.
- 12:54Speaker 7: So once I got in there and I got the tone,
- 12:56Speaker 7: I was like, oh, well, I do like anything that's,
- 12:58Speaker 7: you know, post-apocalyptic. So it's like once we get into
- 13:02Speaker 7: everything's already falling apart in the world, I'm like.
- 13:04Speaker 6: Okay, this is pretty cool now.
- 13:06Speaker 8: I remember liking it, but it's been forever since I've
- 13:08Speaker 8: seen it.
- 13:09Speaker 7: And I do really like Gary Sinise. He's just a
- 13:12Speaker 7: good actor. It's funny now that he just does a
- 13:15Speaker 7: procedural cop show, and that's probably where a lot of
- 13:17Speaker 7: people know him from more than anything else, but he's
- 13:19Speaker 7: a damn good actor.
- 13:21Speaker 6: And that was really early on.
- 13:22Speaker 7: I was talking to somebody at work, and I sat
- 13:25Speaker 7: there trying to go, okay, did I know? I was like,
- 13:27Speaker 7: I'm pretty sure this was pre-Forrest Gump, but I sort
- 13:30Speaker 7: of knew.
- 13:31Speaker 6: Who he was, so I had to check. Way pre-forrest.
- 13:34Speaker 7: It's no it's like that same year but it hit
- 13:37Speaker 7: right before that yeah so nobody knew him as lieutenant
- 13:39Speaker 7: dan yet but it was it was like it was
- 13:43Speaker 7: like the beginning of that year i guess when the
- 13:45Speaker 7: stand came out so i.
- 13:46Speaker 2: Could have sworn that the stand came out like a
- 13:49Speaker 2: couple years before um.
- 13:53Speaker 7: Forrest gump no see that's the thing i was thinking
- 13:55Speaker 7: it was early 90s it's like mid 90s so it's Yeah.
- 13:58Speaker 6: It's weird.
- 13:59Speaker 2: Well, I totally can't remember nothing.
- 14:01Speaker 6: Well, we know that.
- 14:02Speaker 8: Are you sure it was midnight? I was pretty sure
- 14:05Speaker 8: that I was still in elementary school.
- 14:08Speaker 6: That's the thing.
- 14:08Speaker 7: I think it just seems older. Well, we still live
- 14:11Speaker 7: in the apartment complex.
- 14:13Speaker 6: It's like 94. I was 14.
- 14:17Speaker 2: IMDB it real quick.
- 14:20Speaker 8: I'm pretty sure I was still in elementary school.
- 14:23Speaker 6: Look it up.
- 14:24Speaker 2: Settle this debate once and for all. I don't know
- 14:27Speaker 2: about getting my phone back out. It's in my lap. Oh, God.
- 14:33Speaker 2: Brian already looked it up. We're good to go.
- 14:35Speaker 7: I can look it up again while you tell your story. So, yeah,
- 14:40Speaker 7: that was most of it. I'm still a quarter of
- 14:43Speaker 7: the way in, so I've still got the whole rest
- 14:45Speaker 7: of destruction and fighting and the evil forces coming about.
- 14:50Speaker 8: And my life for you!
- 14:53Speaker 6: I'll wait for that patiently.
- 14:55Speaker 8: I love that movie. I love that. I love Corin
- 14:57Speaker 8: Nemec and I love Matt Furr in that movie. Is
- 15:01Speaker 8: it our turn?
- 15:02Speaker 6: Yeah, you come up with stuff.
- 15:04Speaker 8: Okay.
- 15:04Speaker 2: What did we watch?
- 15:05Speaker 8: Did we watch anything?
- 15:06Speaker 2: Well, last night we watched Dark Passenger. No, Dark Passage.
- 15:10Speaker 2: I mean, sorry, Dark Passage.
- 15:12Speaker 8: We've been watching a lot.
- 15:13Speaker 2: Of Dexter, too. Again, Dexter.
- 15:15Speaker 6: That's what I was thinking. I was like, hey.
- 15:16Speaker 2: Dark Passage with Humphrey Bogart and Lauren McCall.
- 15:19Speaker 6: That's that cool situation Dexter's got going on.
- 15:22Speaker 9: Yeah, that's great.
- 15:23Speaker 6: It's a good movie. Excellent movie.
- 15:26Speaker 2: We just happened to be flipping through channels and were
- 15:28Speaker 2: kind of lazy on a Friday night and ended up
- 15:30Speaker 2: on KET and they were playing KET 2 and they
- 15:34Speaker 2: were playing old movies and I like old movies. I
- 15:38Speaker 2: see you like old movies. I like old movies too. Yeah.
- 15:42Speaker 6: That won you right over, didn't it?
- 15:44Speaker 2: So anyways, we watched it.
- 15:45Speaker 8: It was great.
- 15:45Speaker 2: It was a good movie. I thought it was pretty good.
- 15:47Speaker 2: What did you say? It was like one of the
- 15:49Speaker 2: first POV movies shot.
- 15:51Speaker 8: Most of the beginning of it was shot off from
- 15:54Speaker 8: Humphrey Bogart's character's perspective. I don't know if it would
- 15:59Speaker 8: ruin it to tell why they changed perspective pathways there.
- 16:04Speaker 2: Yeah, maybe. I would just, I don't know, not so much.
- 16:08Speaker 2: I would just say it's just about him pretty much
- 16:13Speaker 2: escaping San Quentin.
- 16:16Speaker 8: Because they think he killed his wife.
- 16:18Speaker 2: Yeah, and somebody's framing him for a bunch of other murders,
- 16:22Speaker 2: and it's just him on the run. And then he
- 16:24Speaker 2: meets Laura McCall, who kind of went to his trial,
- 16:29Speaker 2: and she thinks he's innocent. She's probably one of the
- 16:32Speaker 2: only handful of people that think he's innocent. And she
- 16:35Speaker 2: kind of takes him in and helps him out. It's
- 16:37Speaker 2: a good movie.
- 16:39Speaker 8: And he has to try to figure out who actually
- 16:41Speaker 8: killed his wife. And that ends badly.
- 16:44Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 16:45Speaker 7: The funny thing is I haven't paid attention to what
- 16:48Speaker 7: was on TV in quite a while now, but I
- 16:49Speaker 7: did flip through and saw that was on and probably
- 16:52Speaker 7: would have watched it, but it had already started. It
- 16:54Speaker 7: was already, like, well in that, like, halfway point.
- 16:56Speaker 6: So, like, fine then, never mind.
- 16:58Speaker 2: I think we came in right at the beginning, so
- 17:00Speaker 2: we may have missed it.
- 17:01Speaker 8: We missed the prison break, I think.
- 17:03Speaker 2: Yeah, we may have missed the first five minutes of it, but,
- 17:05Speaker 2: you know, sometimes I can... I mean, you knew what
- 17:08Speaker 2: was going on within the first couple seconds of the movie, so.
- 17:12Speaker 8: a big fan of the the perspective shot though like
- 17:15Speaker 8: walking around like you're humphrey bogart i didn't like that
- 17:17Speaker 8: the actors were like talking to me because they're talking
- 17:19Speaker 8: to the character and they're like looking right at you
- 17:21Speaker 8: and i'm like don't look at me yeah that made
- 17:27Speaker 8: me a little bit uncomfortable laura mccall was super hot
- 17:30Speaker 8: then so to be my super geeky uh they did
- 17:34Speaker 8: an episode of tales from the crypt where they did
- 17:36Speaker 8: it as humphrey bogart remember that and.
- 17:39Speaker 7: It was all pov they they it Again, they were
- 17:41Speaker 7: just trying to do it. I'm sure now seems horrible.
- 17:45Speaker 7: It probably looks horrible.
- 17:46Speaker 2: Well, it was one of the beginning stages of CGI.
- 17:48Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 17:49Speaker 2: You just saw his face in the mirror.
- 17:50Speaker 6: In the mirror and a couple other reflections.
- 17:52Speaker 7: I was trying to remember what that was from. Tales
- 17:54Speaker 7: from the Crypt, yeah. I think it's Robert Zemeckis did
- 17:57Speaker 7: that episode. Yeah, I had got it mixed up with,
- 18:00Speaker 7: what was it?
- 18:02Speaker 2: Creepshow. I couldn't remember which one it was from.
- 18:04Speaker 7: It was one of the mid-run, I think, of Tales
- 18:07Speaker 7: from the Crypt.
- 18:08Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 18:08Speaker 2: Yeah, it was.
- 18:09Speaker 6: It's kind of that same thing.
- 18:10Speaker 7: It was a cool idea, but I don't know that
- 18:12Speaker 7: it plays out, especially since I haven't seen it in years.
- 18:15Speaker 7: I'm sure now it would not hold up technically.
- 18:18Speaker 2: Probably not.
- 18:18Speaker 6: But it's a cool idea.
- 18:19Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 18:20Speaker 8: But then I got sad because I was trying to, well,
- 18:22Speaker 8: we turned it on. It had already started, so I
- 18:24Speaker 8: didn't know what it was. So I was trying to
- 18:25Speaker 8: look it up and find out more stuff about it.
- 18:26Speaker 8: And I ended up looking up, you know, more bio
- 18:29Speaker 8: stuff on Humphrey Bogart. Because I don't think he was
- 18:31Speaker 8: ever really an attractive man. So I was trying to
- 18:32Speaker 8: figure out if he was ever hot. I found his bio,
- 18:35Speaker 8: and I was reading about how he died and everything.
- 18:37Speaker 8: And it was just so depressing because he ended up
- 18:39Speaker 8: getting esophageal cancer from, like, all that smoking and alcohol.
- 18:43Speaker 8: And by the time he died, he only weighed 80 pounds.
- 18:46Speaker 8: That is just.
- 18:47Speaker 2: He's the same height as me. Well, just a little
- 18:49Speaker 2: bit taller than me, but 80 pounds? Jeez, that's like
- 18:52Speaker 2: half my body weight.
- 18:53Speaker 6: Yeah, that is not good.
- 18:56Speaker 2: I mean, guys back then weren't, I mean, you didn't
- 18:57Speaker 2: have like, I don't know, guys nowadays and guys... You
- 19:00Speaker 2: didn't have cancer warning. Well, yeah. I mean, they just
- 19:04Speaker 2: don't look the same. I mean, guys back then, they
- 19:05Speaker 2: looked rugged. They had to work. I mean, there were
- 19:09Speaker 2: a few office jobs that guys worked at, most of them.
- 19:13Speaker 2: I mean, they were rugged back then. They had to
- 19:16Speaker 2: do shit.
- 19:16Speaker 8: You didn't have the metrosexual pretty boys you have today.
- 19:19Speaker 6: No, you didn't.
- 19:20Speaker 2: And a majority of people smoked because back then... It
- 19:24Speaker 2: was cool. Well, not so much cool. It was just
- 19:26Speaker 2: everybody did it and nobody knew the health hazards of it.
- 19:28Speaker 2: A lot of people drank.
- 19:30Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 19:30Speaker 2: I mean, I know older guys that I grew up
- 19:34Speaker 2: with that lived in the neighborhood with me that started
- 19:36Speaker 2: smoking when they were like eight, you know? Or guys
- 19:39Speaker 2: that were drinking when they were 12. I mean, that's
- 19:41Speaker 2: just the way they were back then. They didn't have
- 19:45Speaker 2: so much a ban on cigarettes and stuff like that.
- 19:48Speaker 6: So, I don't know.
- 19:49Speaker 2: Good news. easier for them to get them.
- 19:51Speaker 7: You think back, it's like, most of the big leading
- 19:54Speaker 7: men at that point really weren't, like, pretty boy. You know,
- 19:56Speaker 7: they weren't the kind of guys who now would catch on, but, yeah,
- 20:00Speaker 7: your Humphrey Bogarts and, like, Clark Gables, I mean, they're just,
- 20:03Speaker 7: they're kind of badass and they're kind of, like, they're, like,
- 20:09Speaker 7: They were. They were rugged and they were, you know,
- 20:11Speaker 7: kind of badass guys. And that's what I guess they wanted.
- 20:13Speaker 7: They were in action movies and, you know, gangster movies.
- 20:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, you've got to look at people and,
- 20:19Speaker 2: you know, I mean, you look at what's hot now
- 20:20Speaker 2: and look at what was hot back then.
- 20:22Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 20:22Speaker 2: You know, I mean, you look at women back then.
- 20:24Speaker 2: I mean, God, women back then were gorgeous, you know.
- 20:27Speaker 8: But you didn't have to be.
- 20:29Speaker 2: But you didn't have to be, yeah. And there was
- 20:30Speaker 2: a certain attitude that went around with it. It's like...
- 20:33Speaker 2: Most of the time when you turn on TV nowadays,
- 20:36Speaker 2: you know, maybe it's just me, but most women I
- 20:38Speaker 2: do not find attractive anymore. The whole, you know, the
- 20:43Speaker 2: plastic face and the hair and stuff like that. It's like.
- 20:45Speaker 6: Definitely not that breed.
- 20:47Speaker 8: No.
- 20:47Speaker 7: And a lot of the other ones, even if they
- 20:49Speaker 7: are attractive, are almost interchangeable. Especially with, like, well, actors
- 20:54Speaker 7: and actresses.
- 20:54Speaker 6: I think, you get that way.
- 20:55Speaker 7: It's like, they all kind of have the same general
- 20:58Speaker 7: generic look, I guess, so they can cast them in whatever...
- 21:01Speaker 7: But at the same time, they're all forgettable and interchangeable.
- 21:04Speaker 2: And there's the over-sluttiness and shit like that. I don't know,
- 21:09Speaker 2: you know? No more classy dames.
- 21:13Speaker 6: Definitely not like there used to be back in the day.
- 21:16Speaker 8: Yeah, it was an interesting movie.
- 21:18Speaker 2: I mean, I guess. It was pretty good.
- 21:21Speaker 10: I was tired.
- 21:23Speaker 1: You know?
- 21:24Speaker 6: I'm sorry.
- 21:26Speaker 2: I get engrossed in old movies a lot of times.
- 21:31Speaker 2: There's certain movies that I don't really, it's like I
- 21:33Speaker 2: wouldn't normally go, hey, I need to rent this movie.
- 21:36Speaker 2: But if I sit down and it's on, I get
- 21:40Speaker 2: sucked into it. And then I get really sucked into them.
- 21:44Speaker 6: I think old movies are like, it was kind of
- 21:45Speaker 6: that same thing.
- 21:46Speaker 7: It's like I kept meaning to, of mine earlier, it's
- 21:49Speaker 7: like I kept meaning, and once I was into it,
- 21:51Speaker 7: I was like, man, this is awesome. Just like looking
- 21:53Speaker 7: at the visual style and being in that time and.
- 21:55Speaker 6: Place, you know.
- 21:56Speaker 8: Yeah, I mean.
- 21:57Speaker 2: I mean, people complain about movies nowadays. That's fine. You
- 22:00Speaker 2: know what? Go back and watch some old movies that
- 22:02Speaker 2: you've never seen before.
- 22:04Speaker 6: There's a ton of them.
- 22:05Speaker 2: There's a ton of them, and good actors and actresses.
- 22:08Speaker 2: None of this fucking Jessica Alba and her damn wooden
- 22:13Speaker 2: acting shit. No Megan Fox. No Megan Fox.
- 22:17Speaker 8: Wait, who?
- 22:17Speaker 9: No LaBouffe.
- 22:18Speaker 2: No Toe Thumbs. None of that bullshit.
- 22:20Speaker 8: Who the hell is.
- 22:20Speaker 6: This Megan Fox character?
- 22:22Speaker 2: I'm just saying.
- 22:23Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 22:24Speaker 7: I was listening to an old episode recently, and it's
- 22:28Speaker 7: funny because we'll probably see him here today, but I
- 22:31Speaker 7: remember it was just when they dumped Megan Fox from
- 22:34Speaker 7: the third Transformers movie.
- 22:36Speaker 6: And Mikey called in.
- 22:38Speaker 7: Metal Mikey called in and was like, I'm telling you,
- 22:41Speaker 7: give it a year, you won't see or hear from
- 22:43Speaker 7: this girl again. Seriously, what's the last thing she's turned
- 22:47Speaker 7: up in that got any actual attention?
- 22:49Speaker 8: She did that one movie with.
- 22:52Speaker 7: The angel thing nobody ever saw that I don't think
- 22:55Speaker 7: I ever I don't think I ever would have heard
- 22:56Speaker 7: about it except you saw in the trailer yeah that's.
- 22:58Speaker 2: The point where you get the desperation where it's like
- 23:00Speaker 2: I'll take my clothes off please just put me in
- 23:03Speaker 2: a movie.
- 23:03Speaker 7: You know But seriously, it's like she got dropped from
- 23:07Speaker 7: Transformers 3, Jonah Hex tanked, and that was it. She
- 23:10Speaker 7: has not had nobody like Jennifer's body. Jonah Hex came along,
- 23:14Speaker 7: nobody like that.
- 23:15Speaker 6: And then that was it. They'd had, you know, enough
- 23:17Speaker 6: strikes from her that she was out.
- 23:19Speaker 7: And when's the last time anybody's paid any attention to her?
- 23:24Speaker 6: I haven't, again, I haven't even heard that. She's not
- 23:26Speaker 6: even a news enough.
- 23:27Speaker 8: Is he having Brian Austin Green's baby?
- 23:31Speaker 6: Well, there's her punishment right there.
- 23:32Speaker 2: Well, the thing is, nowadays, it's like, people are hot,
- 23:35Speaker 2: they're hot for a second.
- 23:37Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 23:37Speaker 2: You know?
- 23:38Speaker 8: You don't have the lasting star quality.
- 23:40Speaker 2: No, you don't. You don't have the lasting star quality
- 23:43Speaker 2: like they did back then. You know, you just had,
- 23:45Speaker 2: you had people and they were stars for a long
- 23:47Speaker 2: time and you put them in a lot of different movies. Nowadays,
- 23:49Speaker 2: it's like you use them for one or two movies
- 23:51Speaker 2: and then it's on to the next hot one.
- 23:53Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 23:53Speaker 7: I mean, you're, it's, It's an amazing span if somebody
- 23:56Speaker 7: stays in, you know, the A-list movies for ten years.
- 23:59Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 23:59Speaker 6: If you're one of those kind of actors, yeah, you
- 24:01Speaker 6: better start cashing in. Exactly.
- 24:03Speaker 7: Because once you get old, they just retire you and
- 24:07Speaker 7: you get bit parts.
- 24:08Speaker 6: No, you've got to play people's parents. Yeah. You're certainly
- 24:11Speaker 6: not going to get a leading role at that point.
- 24:12Speaker 2: Yeah, you end up playing people's moms.
- 24:14Speaker 8: Mm-hmm.
- 24:15Speaker 6: It happens pretty damn quick.
- 24:16Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 24:17Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 24:18Speaker 2: I think, what was it? There was a movie coming
- 24:20Speaker 2: out with Mila Jovovich and she's somebody's mom. And I
- 24:23Speaker 2: was like, oh man, come on.
- 24:26Speaker 6: You're supposed to be kicking zombies in the head.
- 24:27Speaker 2: I know. That movie comes out next week. I'm so excited.
- 24:32Speaker 2: I'm so excited. I don't give a fuck if it
- 24:34Speaker 2: sucks or not or if you don't like the franchise
- 24:36Speaker 2: or not. I like it and that's all that matters.
- 24:39Speaker 10: They're fun.
- 24:40Speaker 8: I mean, yeah, they're not going to win any Oscars
- 24:42Speaker 8: or anything, but they're good.
- 24:43Speaker 2: They're fun.
- 24:44Speaker 8: And Mila's still, oh my gosh, she's still so hot.
- 24:46Speaker 6: It's ridiculous. I think they've gotten more fun as they've
- 24:49Speaker 6: gone along.
- 24:50Speaker 2: She's a huge nerd, too, and that's a big plus.
- 24:53Speaker 11: You know?
- 24:57Speaker 6: Anything else you've watched?
- 24:59Speaker 8: I watched Bedlam, which I'm sure nobody else has watched.
- 25:03Speaker 8: It's one of those British issues.
- 25:05Speaker 2: It's okay.
- 25:05Speaker 8: It wasn't as good as Misfits or....
- 25:09Speaker 2: The fades the fades.
- 25:10Speaker 8: Was awesome it was it was all right it's it's
- 25:14Speaker 8: way too convoluted to get into so i won't even
- 25:16Speaker 8: bother but it was okay so either check that out
- 25:20Speaker 8: or don't.
- 25:21Speaker 2: So there's the recommendation oh yeah while uh while you
- 25:25Speaker 2: guys were gone to the fair uh and not seeing
- 25:29Speaker 2: uh Skid Row.
- 25:31Speaker 6: Sebastian Bach. Fuck that rain.
- 25:33Speaker 2: Sebastian Bach. I stayed at home and ate vegetable soup
- 25:37Speaker 2: and watched Where Eagles Dare with Clint Eastwood.
- 25:41Speaker 8: You watched the movie with him? He came over to
- 25:43Speaker 8: our house?
- 25:45Speaker 6: It was an empty chair, so it's the same thing.
- 25:47Speaker 2: But fucking damn, that movie is fucking awesome. You want
- 25:50Speaker 2: to see a bunch of people get shot? Clint Eastwood
- 25:53Speaker 2: kills the most amount of people, I think, in any
- 25:55Speaker 2: fucking movie. In that movie. There's nothing but him just
- 25:58Speaker 2: shooting Nazis through the whole damn movie. It's a great movie.
- 26:01Speaker 2: It's an awesome movie. I'm not going to go into it.
- 26:06Speaker 2: Just rent it and watch it. It's a good old movie,
- 26:10Speaker 2: especially if you like war movies, which I do.
- 26:14Speaker 6: Very cool.
- 26:15Speaker 8: Let's talk for a second about this here Sebastian Bach
- 26:19Speaker 8: show that did not happen. Oh.
- 26:22Speaker 2: Oh, good God almighty.
- 26:23Speaker 8: I love the fair.
- 26:24Speaker 2: I ain't gonna lie.
- 26:25Speaker 6: I love the fair.
- 26:25Speaker 8: I love the fair food.
- 26:26Speaker 9: I love.
- 26:28Speaker 2: I hate the fair.
- 26:29Speaker 8: I know you do, boyfriend. Which is why we did
- 26:30Speaker 8: not attempt to drag you along.
- 26:32Speaker 7: Yeah, I forgot the year before when you were miserable.
- 26:35Speaker 7: And then I was like, oh, yeah, I guess we
- 26:37Speaker 7: don't want to make him go, huh?
- 26:39Speaker 6: No, you don't.
- 26:39Speaker 2: Because there's too many people there and I don't like it.
- 26:42Speaker 6: And they're extra ghetto people.
- 26:44Speaker 8: He becomes a pissy bitch. But we went because I
- 26:48Speaker 8: was excited because... I love me some Sebastian Bach. I
- 26:51Speaker 8: know he's a fucking retard. I know he's an absolute
- 26:53Speaker 8: fucking idiot. If you actually listen to him talk, you know.
- 26:56Speaker 9: He's just.
- 26:57Speaker 6: He's special.
- 26:58Speaker 8: He's very special. But I love me some Skid Row.
- 27:01Speaker 8: I love Sebastian Bach when he sings. I think he
- 27:04Speaker 8: has one of the most amazing.
- 27:08Speaker 2: He's got a good voice.
- 27:09Speaker 7: Yeah, he's got an amazing and powerful voice for that
- 27:13Speaker 7: type of music.
- 27:14Speaker 8: He can do so many things. He's done Broadway. He's
- 27:17Speaker 8: done playing out rock and roll. We saw him as Jesus.
- 27:20Speaker 2: For God's sake.
- 27:21Speaker 6: Yeah, we did.
- 27:22Speaker 8: He got fired for being too much of a rock star.
- 27:25Speaker 2: How do you get fired for being a rock star
- 27:27Speaker 2: if you're Jesus? I mean, Jesus in a way, he
- 27:30Speaker 2: kind of was a rock star at that time. How
- 27:32Speaker 2: do you get any bigger than that?
- 27:34Speaker 8: Apparently they didn't approve of his air guitar.
- 27:38Speaker 6: Jesus might have done air guitar. You don't know.
- 27:41Speaker 7: He was sort of a breaking character, and his normal
- 27:44Speaker 7: dorkiness was coming through.
- 27:45Speaker 8: But vocally, he was amazing. He does have, I think,
- 27:49Speaker 8: one of the most amazing voices in rock.
- 27:51Speaker 6: He was no Carl Anderson. No, Carl, he was amazing.
- 27:54Speaker 6: He was amazing.
- 27:56Speaker 8: But, you know, I think he has one of the
- 27:58Speaker 8: best voices, and I was so excited when we get there. And,
- 28:01Speaker 8: of course, it's nice and beautiful when we get there.
- 28:03Speaker 6: Mm-hmm.
- 28:04Speaker 8: We get into the fucking stadium. Before we even find seats,
- 28:08Speaker 8: they come over with a loudspeaker. Uh, we're expecting storms,
- 28:11Speaker 8: so everybody has to get out. They kicked everybody out
- 28:16Speaker 8: of their seats. People have been waiting for hours to
- 28:18Speaker 8: get their seats, so that was not a happy crowd. Mm-hmm.
- 28:21Speaker 8: So we were like, well, I don't want to stand
- 28:23Speaker 8: around with all these fucking obnoxious, drunk, unhappy people.
- 28:25Speaker 2: So we walked around the fair a little bit longer.
- 28:27Speaker 8: Hours roll by. Oh, they're not going to cancel the show.
- 28:31Speaker 8: They're not going to cancel. They've never canceled the show.
- 28:34Speaker 8: They're just a little bit longer.
- 28:37Speaker 7: After Misty repeatedly was bugging old ladies at information booths.
- 28:40Speaker 8: Dude, they need to fucking know shit.
- 28:41Speaker 7: Which, you know you're hardcore if Misty's going up to
- 28:44Speaker 7: talk to them. Because she's antisocial as you get.
- 28:46Speaker 8: How?
- 28:47Speaker 6: I want to know what's going on with Sebastian Bach.
- 28:49Speaker 7: Look, 80-year-old lady, tell me all about Sebastian Bach.
- 28:51Speaker 2: Dude, they stick these old people in these booths that
- 28:54Speaker 2: don't have a fucking clue what's going on. They give
- 28:56Speaker 2: them a schedule. And then they said, okay, if anybody
- 29:00Speaker 2: has any questions, give them the... And just repeat. Just
- 29:02Speaker 2: regurgitate the fucking schedule. Yeah. Stick some people in a
- 29:06Speaker 2: damn booth that know what the hell they're doing. Not
- 29:07Speaker 2: these old people who are like, I don't know where
- 29:10Speaker 2: to do something.
- 29:11Speaker 8: Well, listen, for their benefit, they were giving us the
- 29:15Speaker 8: information that was given to them. So it's not like they...
- 29:18Speaker 8: Didn't know. They were just telling us what they'd already
- 29:20Speaker 8: been told.
- 29:21Speaker 2: It was nothing.
- 29:21Speaker 8: Yeah, it was a whole bunch of.
- 29:23Speaker 6: No, it was.
- 29:24Speaker 8: Oh, 9.30 it'll start. 9.30 it's definitely gonna start. And
- 29:26Speaker 8: then 9.30 rolls around.
- 29:27Speaker 9: Oh, no, no, no.
- 29:28Speaker 2: 10 o'clock.
- 29:29Speaker 8: 10 o'clock it's definitely gonna start.
- 29:31Speaker 9: No, no.
- 29:31Speaker 8: 10.15. We're still waiting. We're standing there. It's like a
- 29:35Speaker 8: lightning and thundering and shit no 10 30 they're definitely
- 29:38Speaker 8: gonna let you in at 10 30.
- 29:40Speaker 2: 10 20 they kicked us out raining cats and dogs
- 29:43Speaker 2: and I was busy watching Clint Eastwood blow the fuck
- 29:46Speaker 2: out of Nazis.
- 29:46Speaker 8: We were standing around with drunk, annoyed people.
- 29:50Speaker 2: That was fun. Yeah.
- 29:52Speaker 8: But yeah, they kicked us out. What do you mean
- 29:54Speaker 8: let's wait for the rain to let up? They were like, no,
- 29:55Speaker 8: you have to get out now. You have to close
- 29:57Speaker 8: these doors. I'm like, motherfucker. It's fucking raining out. It's
- 30:02Speaker 8: pouring down. You're worried about Sebastian Bach getting struck by lightning,
- 30:06Speaker 8: but oh, let Misty get struck by lightning.
- 30:08Speaker 2: That's what it fucking is.
- 30:11Speaker 8: But I love the fair. They had some disgusting shit
- 30:13Speaker 8: there this year.
- 30:14Speaker 2: They had the.
- 30:15Speaker 8: Buffalo-style chicken on raspberry cream-filled donuts, and I'm sorry, but
- 30:20Speaker 8: that sounds fucking disgusting.
- 30:22Speaker 6: I don't know what you're talking about.
- 30:24Speaker 2: I don't know what's up with the fair the past
- 30:26Speaker 2: couple years, but it looks like they're just trying to out-gross.
- 30:30Speaker 2: And I don't know, basically it's like the Kentucky state fair.
- 30:33Speaker 2: How fat can we make our people? Can we give
- 30:36Speaker 2: somebody a heart attack here? Cause I think that's really
- 30:39Speaker 2: what they're going for is they're trying, they're trying to
- 30:41Speaker 2: make somebody die of, you know, some kind of blockage
- 30:46Speaker 2: in the middle of the fair. That way they could say, yes,
- 30:49Speaker 2: we have accomplished what we have set out to do
- 30:51Speaker 2: with our Krispy Kreme grease filled donuts. Um, hamburgers and
- 30:57Speaker 2: whatever else fried things they've got if they if if
- 31:00Speaker 2: they can think of it they'll stick a stick up
- 31:02Speaker 2: it and fucking fry it and then give it to
- 31:04Speaker 2: you that's basically what they do there you.
- 31:07Speaker 7: Know it's getting to that point when like over with
- 31:09Speaker 7: the condiments you know ketchup mustard here's some napkins here's
- 31:12Speaker 7: the paddles to jolt you back to life when you
- 31:15Speaker 7: drop on the ground next.
- 31:16Speaker 6: To the place.
- 31:19Speaker 8: I bought a hamburger and I'm still not entirely sure
- 31:24Speaker 8: it was actual meat I think it was Soylent Green
- 31:27Speaker 8: Soylent Green.
- 31:28Speaker 6: Is fair people that's.
- 31:30Speaker 8: What happens to the ones that die there they just
- 31:33Speaker 8: turn them into food recycle reuse they had deep fried
- 31:37Speaker 8: girl scout cookies too which could have been good I
- 31:39Speaker 8: don't know.
- 31:39Speaker 7: I think every time I go, it's like I start working.
- 31:43Speaker 6: Because I can never find a good option of what
- 31:45Speaker 6: to eat. But I want to eat something stupid and fair-like.
- 31:48Speaker 6: Because you're there.
- 31:48Speaker 7: That's the whole point of being there is to eat stupid,
- 31:51Speaker 7: fair food. But it's like a process of elimination. So
- 31:55Speaker 7: this year was check off the list. Don't eat chili
- 31:57Speaker 7: cheese fries for dinner. You get fried Kool-Aid this year?
- 32:01Speaker 7: Specifically fair-grade chili cheese fries. Because it's a great idea
- 32:06Speaker 7: in our fat American ways. Yes, I like chili cheese fries.
- 32:10Speaker 7: But this was, like, straight out the can of Hormel.
- 32:13Speaker 2: Oh, good God.
- 32:13Speaker 6: With, like, nacho cheese, like, dipped out of the bucket.
- 32:17Speaker 6: It was crap. And the fries weren't even good, so.
- 32:20Speaker 2: Remember Creepy Sean? He used to eat cans of Hormel
- 32:23Speaker 2: chili right off, right out of the damn can. He'd
- 32:25Speaker 2: heat it up on his car, on the engine, and
- 32:27Speaker 2: eat it right out of the can. What a freak.
- 32:30Speaker 6: He's just trying to be weird at that point.
- 32:32Speaker 8: But anyways, I love the fair. I'm still disappointed that
- 32:34Speaker 8: I did not get a fucking yardstick.
- 32:37Speaker 6: You're one of those people. Those yardstick people.
- 32:41Speaker 2: Thank God they quit giving the yardsticks out.
- 32:43Speaker 8: They didn't. They just weren't giving them to me. I
- 32:45Speaker 8: saw a shit ton of people carrying yardsticks.
- 32:47Speaker 2: They were all old people. They only give them to
- 32:49Speaker 2: old people.
- 32:50Speaker 8: No, there was a couple young'uns there I saw.
- 32:52Speaker 2: They stole them from old people.
- 32:54Speaker 6: Pushed them down. Took the yardstick.
- 32:56Speaker 8: But yeah, I love the fair. Let's get back to
- 32:58Speaker 8: something else we watched.
- 32:58Speaker 2: What else did we watch?
- 32:59Speaker 8: We've been catching up with Dexter. We watched season three
- 33:01Speaker 8: of Dexter. We're very behind. We're on season three and
- 33:05Speaker 8: we just started season four.
- 33:06Speaker 2: Did we ever talk about Sherlock? Did we ever talk
- 33:10Speaker 2: about that? I don't even remember the last time we've
- 33:12Speaker 2: been on the damn show.
- 33:13Speaker 6: I think you said you were watching it, yeah.
- 33:14Speaker 2: Okay, we finished that. That was awesome.
- 33:19Speaker 11: Mr.
- 33:19Speaker 2: Cumberpatch is awesome as Sherlock. I know they've got a
- 33:22Speaker 2: new Sherlock coming to the U.S. Which kind of really
- 33:27Speaker 2: just looks sucktastic and stupid.
- 33:30Speaker 6: Everybody seems to say that.
- 33:31Speaker 2: Well, I mean, they're trying to... Basically, they're watching... I
- 33:34Speaker 2: guess TV now watches BBC, and they're like, well, what
- 33:37Speaker 2: can we copy from the British and then try to
- 33:38Speaker 2: put our cool American spin on it and make it
- 33:41Speaker 2: all wacky?
- 33:41Speaker 8: They made this one totally different. They put Lucy Liu
- 33:44Speaker 8: as John Watson. Is she Joan Watson?
- 33:46Speaker 6: No, I think she's Jane or Joan. Yeah, I think
- 33:48Speaker 6: she is Joan.
- 33:49Speaker 2: Which, you know, okay. I guess that's kind of a
- 33:52Speaker 2: cool idea, but, you know, sometimes... Ideas just need to
- 33:55Speaker 2: be left alone, you know? It's okay if you're writing
- 33:58Speaker 2: something new, but it's damn Sherlock, man. Keep it fucking Sherlock.
- 34:03Speaker 2: Don't fucking go off and, hey, let's do this. You
- 34:05Speaker 2: know what would be cool? I like Johnny Lee Miller.
- 34:08Speaker 6: That's Sherlock Holmes.
- 34:08Speaker 2: He's got tattoos, and he's kind of wacky.
- 34:11Speaker 8: He just looks stupid, and he looks obnoxious.
- 34:13Speaker 6: That's the thing. He's playing it really weird. I like
- 34:16Speaker 6: Johnny Lee Miller.
- 34:16Speaker 7: He can pull in really good stuff.
- 34:18Speaker 6: Yeah, he's good in hackers.
- 34:19Speaker 2: That's about it.
- 34:21Speaker 7: Well, wait until you get a little further into Dexter.
- 34:23Speaker 7: He's actually pretty good in a couple of seasons.
- 34:25Speaker 2: I don't think he can be any better than naked
- 34:27Speaker 2: John Lithgow. There's so much man-ass in that that I
- 34:31Speaker 2: really did not.
- 34:31Speaker 6: Need to see.
- 34:32Speaker 8: Like three episodes in.
- 34:35Speaker 2: John Lithgow is on the top of my list of
- 34:37Speaker 2: guys I don't need to see naked.
- 34:38Speaker 6: Nobody's hotter than John Lithgow.
- 34:41Speaker 2: He is quite fucking psychotic, though.
- 34:43Speaker 6: He's amazing in that season.
- 34:45Speaker 8: I'm hating Quinn, though. I was pretty excited to see
- 34:48Speaker 8: him at first because I love Desmond Harrington because Wrong
- 34:51Speaker 8: Turn was fucking awesome and I loved the hell out
- 34:53Speaker 8: of that movie. So I'm like, ooh, it's Desmond Harrington.
- 34:56Speaker 2: He's an ass. yeah he's kind of always like he's
- 35:00Speaker 2: kind of a little bit of a dick but i
- 35:01Speaker 2: mean he's your normal dick cop i mean that's the
- 35:04Speaker 2: role he plays he pretty much.
- 35:06Speaker 6: Nails it yeah he doesn't really get much better he's
- 35:08Speaker 6: just kind.
- 35:09Speaker 2: Of like that yeah but i mean he he plays
- 35:11Speaker 2: the role good i.
- 35:12Speaker 7: Think yeah you just don't like him as a character
- 35:15Speaker 7: but he does a good job at it no but
- 35:17Speaker 7: that doesn't mean anything there's been tons of really good
- 35:19Speaker 7: actors uh that have played characters that i just fucking
- 35:22Speaker 7: despise you know And then that ends up hurting them
- 35:27Speaker 7: in other things that they act in.
- 35:29Speaker 2: For like a long time, I saw something, I don't
- 35:31Speaker 2: even remember what it was, that had Christopher Walken in it.
- 35:35Speaker 2: And he was so good in that role that I
- 35:37Speaker 2: just fucking hated him in real life. And it took
- 35:39Speaker 2: me a real long time to get over that and
- 35:42Speaker 2: actually like Christopher Walken again.
- 35:44Speaker 9: Nice.
- 35:45Speaker 2: I don't remember what the movie was, but it was
- 35:48Speaker 2: in Pulp Fiction, I think, was by the time I
- 35:49Speaker 2: got around to where I was like, you know, Christopher
- 35:51Speaker 2: Walken's not a bad guy. I mean, he hit a
- 35:53Speaker 2: hunk of metal up his ass for, like, I don't
- 35:54Speaker 2: know how many years, so he can't be all that bad.
- 35:56Speaker 8: Do you think he really carried it around for several
- 35:59Speaker 8: years in preparation for the role?
- 36:01Speaker 2: I think some actors actually go to an extreme, so
- 36:03Speaker 2: I would say probably yes, Christopher Walken is nutty enough
- 36:06Speaker 2: he probably shoved a watch up his ass for a
- 36:07Speaker 2: while just to get prepared for the role.
- 36:09Speaker 11: Okay.
- 36:14Speaker 6: You never know with actors. They get hardcore about their
- 36:17Speaker 6: intense preparation.
- 36:19Speaker 13: Yeah.
- 36:20Speaker 2: Some of them make you call them by the character
- 36:22Speaker 2: name for the entire time of the movie.
- 36:24Speaker 8: I heard that What's-His-Face is really bad about that. Daniel Day-Lewis,
- 36:28Speaker 8: doesn't he go apeshit nuts about shit?
- 36:30Speaker 6: He's pretty intense, yeah.
- 36:31Speaker 2: I heard that when he was playing Abraham.
- 36:32Speaker 8: Lincoln in the new movie, he actually had to be
- 36:34Speaker 8: addressed as Abraham Lincoln.
- 36:35Speaker 6: And when we're done, you have to shoot me in
- 36:38Speaker 6: the head.
- 36:38Speaker 2: Yeah. That'd be awesome.
- 36:41Speaker 8: I don't know.
- 36:42Speaker 2: Well, I heard like Russell Crowe, you know, on, what
- 36:45Speaker 2: was it, Master and Commander? Was that the ship movie?
- 36:47Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 36:48Speaker 2: Where they made everybody actually go out on a ship
- 36:51Speaker 2: and they all actually had jobs and they had to,
- 36:54Speaker 2: you know, they all had to sew their own shit.
- 36:58Speaker 8: I thought when Daniel Day-Lewis was in, what was that
- 37:00Speaker 8: one movie where he was in a wheelchair?
- 37:01Speaker 2: My Left Foot or some shit like that. I had
- 37:03Speaker 2: to watch that in school.
- 37:03Speaker 8: Didn't they actually, he actually made them push him around
- 37:06Speaker 8: in a wheelchair all the time during the entire filming
- 37:08Speaker 8: of the movie.
- 37:08Speaker 6: Possibly.
- 37:09Speaker 2: I think I would have broken his leg.
- 37:11Speaker 11: Just so.
- 37:12Speaker 2: You want to feel how it is?
- 37:13Speaker 6: Okay, here. Okay, but leave his left foot alone.
- 37:16Speaker 9: Crunch.
- 37:16Speaker 6: Leave his left foot alone.
- 37:18Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 37:20Speaker 2: There you go. Now you know.
- 37:21Speaker 8: I don't think we watched anything. Oh, we probably did.
- 37:24Speaker 8: Now I probably remember it in about ten minutes.
- 37:26Speaker 6: More than likely.
- 37:30Speaker 2: I can't think of anything.
- 37:31Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 37:32Speaker 2: I mean, I think the last thing we finished up
- 37:34Speaker 2: on was Supernatural, and then we went right into Dexter.
- 37:39Speaker 2: And that was about it.
- 37:41Speaker 8: You want Supernatural Walking Dead, didn't you?
- 37:43Speaker 2: Yeah, yeah, whatever.
- 37:44Speaker 6: I can't remember.
- 37:46Speaker 8: Thanks for going to watch V so I can prepare
- 37:47Speaker 8: to meet Mark Singer. I love Mark Singer.
- 37:52Speaker 2: Yeah, V, I hope it lives up to, and I
- 37:55Speaker 2: probably know it won't, the way it was from what
- 37:59Speaker 2: I remember as a kid. Because I remember seeing it
- 38:01Speaker 2: when it came on, and I thought it was just
- 38:03Speaker 2: the coolest thing.
- 38:04Speaker 8: Yep.
- 38:06Speaker 2: Which now I'll probably go back and just be like, oh,
- 38:08Speaker 2: this sucks.
- 38:10Speaker 7: It's been that long since I've seen it, I think.
- 38:13Speaker 7: I'm kind of worried myself. At the time, it was
- 38:16Speaker 7: the coolest thing around.
- 38:18Speaker 2: Do you remember the TV show The Master?
- 38:21Speaker 6: Yeah yeah i mean i remember as a kid oh
- 38:25Speaker 6: yeah yeah and.
- 38:26Speaker 2: Shoko sugi i mean i remember as a kid that
- 38:30Speaker 2: coming on tv and just thinking that was the coolest
- 38:32Speaker 2: fucking thing ever i did too yeah we're in the
- 38:34Speaker 2: middle of ninja mania so everybody was a ninja and
- 38:37Speaker 2: i had like as a kid i had the ninja
- 38:39Speaker 2: suit and the fucking boots and we lived out in
- 38:41Speaker 2: the middle of nowhere and i ran around and You know,
- 38:44Speaker 2: hacked up trees and, you know, stupid... Caught shit on fire. Yeah,
- 38:47Speaker 2: caught shit on fire, you know.
- 38:50Speaker 11: So.
- 38:50Speaker 2: Ninja vanish! Ninja set the entire field on fire! Great,
- 38:54Speaker 2: now Ninja's in trouble.
- 38:55Speaker 6: Ninja, oops.
- 38:57Speaker 2: Ninja's in trouble with the fire department.
- 38:59Speaker 6: But... And that's another story.
- 39:02Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 39:03Speaker 14: But, uh.
- 39:03Speaker 2: I don't know, you know, you go back and watch
- 39:05Speaker 2: some of those shows. Like, I tried to go back
- 39:08Speaker 2: and watch Airwolf. I still like Airwolf.
- 39:12Speaker 8: But....
- 39:13Speaker 2: I guess now maybe it's, I don't know, it's kind
- 39:19Speaker 2: of like video games with me. I remember playing video
- 39:22Speaker 2: games and I was just like, God, this is fucking awesome.
- 39:24Speaker 2: I got to go back and play this. And it's
- 39:26Speaker 2: the same with shows. I get in the middle of
- 39:27Speaker 2: it and I'm like, dude, I've already done this. Why
- 39:30Speaker 2: am I doing this again? And then I just kind
- 39:32Speaker 2: of lose interest in it.
- 39:33Speaker 6: So I don't know.
- 39:35Speaker 8: Nice.
- 39:36Speaker 6: That's what I'm afraid of.
- 39:38Speaker 7: There's so many of them that I thought were awesome
- 39:40Speaker 7: that I'm pretty sure if I went back and watched now,
- 39:43Speaker 7: I would lose a lot of respect for it.
- 39:45Speaker 8: Well, I've never seen V, so you're going to have to.
- 39:48Speaker 2: Just suck it up and watch it with me. I
- 39:50Speaker 2: don't remember a whole lot from V. I just remember
- 39:59Speaker 2: thinking that it was really cool, and I think I
- 40:00Speaker 2: liked the outfits, and It was.
- 40:03Speaker 6: A cool look, especially for the time. We hadn't seen
- 40:05Speaker 6: a lot of the other stuff.
- 40:06Speaker 2: No, and it had... I think Robert Englund was in it,
- 40:09Speaker 2: wasn't he?
- 40:10Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 40:10Speaker 2: And he was the quirky alien that was trying to
- 40:13Speaker 2: be human.
- 40:13Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 40:14Speaker 2: Never could get the sayings and, you know.
- 40:19Speaker 6: He was the one good one on our side. He
- 40:22Speaker 6: was the dorky alien.
- 40:22Speaker 2: There's a huge thing that you aren't supposed to know
- 40:25Speaker 2: about that I'm not going to say about. It was
- 40:27Speaker 2: real big, and then you found out about it, and
- 40:29Speaker 2: you were like, oh my god, this is the craziest
- 40:31Speaker 2: thing ever. Yeah, can't tell you about it, but you'll
- 40:34Speaker 2: figure it out as we go along, if you don't
- 40:36Speaker 2: already know.
- 40:37Speaker 6: It was pretty crazy.
- 40:38Speaker 2: It's pretty crazy. It's the whole thing of them, we
- 40:41Speaker 2: come in peace, we come in peace, and then you
- 40:42Speaker 2: find out what they're actually there for, and you're like,
- 40:45Speaker 2: oh shit.
- 40:46Speaker 8: Dude, you're getting too close to what it might be.
- 40:48Speaker 2: Hush up.
- 40:50Speaker 9: Okay.
- 40:52Speaker 8: Do we have anything else to talk about, or are
- 40:53Speaker 8: we good?
- 40:55Speaker 2: Lollipop Chainsaw. I played through that. That's a pretty fun game.
- 40:59Speaker 8: You gave up, and I had to win the level
- 41:01Speaker 8: for you.
- 41:01Speaker 2: I have a short tolerance for video games nowadays.
- 41:05Speaker 6: I definitely do.
- 41:07Speaker 2: But, yeah, I'm going to get through there, and then
- 41:09Speaker 2: I'm like, you know what? My thumbs hurt, my back hurts,
- 41:11Speaker 2: and I want to go lay down.
- 41:12Speaker 8: You were like, I can't get past this level. Fuck
- 41:15Speaker 8: this game.
- 41:15Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 41:17Speaker 6: That was James Gunn, isn't it? So there's your dorky
- 41:19Speaker 6: movie thing.
- 41:20Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, it's a good game, and it's fun
- 41:23Speaker 2: to play. The only complaint I have about that game
- 41:26Speaker 2: is there's not enough save levels. So you could be
- 41:30Speaker 2: playing for like an hour, die, and then it takes
- 41:33Speaker 2: you all the way back to the beginning of the
- 41:35Speaker 2: level that you started at an hour and a half ago.
- 41:37Speaker 6: This is why I don't play games anymore. You're like,
- 41:40Speaker 6: God damn it, fuck!
- 41:42Speaker 8: It really was an hour and a half. It was
- 41:44Speaker 8: like 20 minutes.
- 41:45Speaker 2: Felt like an hour and a.
- 41:46Speaker 6: Half to me.
- 41:48Speaker 8: I beat it the first time I went through it.
- 41:50Speaker 2: Yeah, well, it's because I had the controller warmed up
- 41:52Speaker 2: for you.
- 41:54Speaker 8: That should have been a hindrance because you've got your
- 41:55Speaker 8: sweaty little mitts all over me.
- 41:57Speaker 2: The butt is slippery.
- 41:59Speaker 11: Whatever.
- 41:59Speaker 2: I kicked its ass.
- 42:02Speaker 6: You did?
- 42:04Speaker 8: The game's pretty awesome. It is incredibly fun. You can
- 42:07Speaker 8: kill a lot of zombies and you do a lot
- 42:09Speaker 8: of high kicks and there's pom-poms.
- 42:12Speaker 2: It is awesome. I love that game.
- 42:14Speaker 8: But yeah, it is James Gunn and I love me
- 42:15Speaker 8: some James Gunn.
- 42:16Speaker 2: He is fantastic.
- 42:18Speaker 8: He has weird feet.
- 42:20Speaker 11: What?
- 42:20Speaker 2: He has weird feet. Oh, I thought you said he
- 42:22Speaker 2: had weird feet. I was like, what are the pictures
- 42:25Speaker 2: of his feet floating around on the internet?
- 42:28Speaker 6: I'm sure there are. Alright, so just to not leave
- 42:31Speaker 6: people hanging, what's it say?
- 42:33Speaker 2: I have to read that.
- 42:36Speaker 6: What do I have to read? The Stay in 1994.
- 42:38Speaker 6: The Stay in 1994.
- 42:39Speaker 8: Do I have to read the description.
- 42:40Speaker 6: Or are we good? No, you were asking that a year.
- 42:42Speaker 6: Do you not remember already?
- 42:43Speaker 8: Yeah, but I already looked it up and I forgot
- 42:45Speaker 8: to tell you.
- 42:47Speaker 6: Jesus Christ.
- 42:50Speaker 7: That's what I'm saying. It just feels like it was
- 42:53Speaker 7: older than that. It's like some of those other things.
- 42:55Speaker 7: You remember it more of like... It's almost like an
- 42:58Speaker 7: 80s thing, but you.
- 43:00Speaker 9: I don't know.
- 43:00Speaker 6: I think we're just mixing it up with the day after.
- 43:02Speaker 6: Another weird 80s shit. But no, it's 94. I like
- 43:04Speaker 6: that movie.
- 43:05Speaker 8: What? The day after.
- 43:07Speaker 9: Okay.
- 43:08Speaker 6: Yeah, it had a cool.
- 43:10Speaker 2: Tank in it. There's nothing I like about that movie.
- 43:14Speaker 6: All the death and destruction. It makes it more fun. Oh,
- 43:17Speaker 6: okay then.
- 43:17Speaker 8: Oh, yeah.
- 43:20Speaker 2: God, that was so depressing. I remember seeing that as
- 43:21Speaker 2: a kid, just thinking, I am never going to make
- 43:24Speaker 2: it to even C20. I'm never going to have sex.
- 43:28Speaker 7: That's what I'm saying. We were so worked up into
- 43:31Speaker 7: a frenzy at that point in time.
- 43:32Speaker 11: I swear.
- 43:33Speaker 2: I mean, at that point, I was pretty much convinced
- 43:35Speaker 2: I wasn't even going to make it out of high school.
- 43:36Speaker 6: Yeah, that's pretty much what it felt like. That's why
- 43:39Speaker 6: you sucked so bad at it?
- 43:40Speaker 2: Yeah, I was like, why fucking try? I'm going to
- 43:42Speaker 2: die anyways. We're going to die in a nuclear war.
- 43:46Speaker 2: You know? There was no reason to try. Maybe that's why...
- 43:50Speaker 2: I don't know. Maybe that's why we all just kind
- 43:52Speaker 2: of didn't care.
- 43:53Speaker 6: I'm telling you. That's what happened.
- 43:56Speaker 9: All right.
- 43:57Speaker 7: If we're done with the Geek Week, we can wrap
- 44:01Speaker 7: it up for now. Take a break here, and we'll
- 44:03Speaker 7: see what happens at the old convention.
- 44:08Speaker 15: I only want to say.
- 44:14Speaker 11: If there is a way.
- 44:19Speaker 15: Then take this cup away from me.
- 44:24Speaker 10: For I don't.
- 44:27Speaker 15: Want to taste this poison.
- 44:31Speaker 12: Feel it burn me.
- 44:34Speaker 9: I have changed.
- 44:37Speaker 2: I'm not as sure as when they started.
- 44:42Speaker 15: Then I want it.
- 44:49Speaker 2: Popcorn freshly popped and buttered.
- 44:51Speaker 4: Look good?
- 44:53Speaker 15: Sure it looks good and it tastes even better.
- 44:56Speaker 5: Get some now.
- 44:57Speaker 9: It was a night like any other night. Then something happened.
- 45:04Speaker 12: Did you see that?
- 45:10Speaker 9: Something different. It's the shooting star. Why here? Why now?
- 45:22Speaker 9: Why clowns? They've been knocking them dead all over the universe.
- 45:38Speaker 2: What are you gonna do?
- 45:40Speaker 13: Knock my block off?
- 45:45Speaker 9: Soon they'll be doing it at a theater near you.
- 45:50Speaker 4: Killer clowns from outer space.
- 46:04Speaker 9: Killer clowns from outer space. It's crazy.
- 46:11Speaker 5: Isn't it rich?
- 46:13Speaker 12: Are we a pair?
- 46:22Speaker 5: Me here at last on the ground And you in
- 46:29Speaker 5: midair Send in the clowns Isn't it bliss? Don't you approve?
- 46:49Speaker 5: One who keeps tearing around and one who can't move.
- 47:02Speaker 5: But where are the clowns? Send in the clowns.
- 47:11Speaker 1: All right, we're here with the Chogo Brothers. I guess,
- 47:14Speaker 1: where were you guys from, first off? No, we were
- 47:17Speaker 1: born in the Bronx. We're from the East Coast. Born
- 47:19Speaker 1: in the Bronx, raised on Long Island, Deer Park, Long Island.
- 47:22Speaker 7: And what was your original interest in art or movies,
- 47:28Speaker 7: or how did you get into it initially?
- 47:30Speaker 14: Actually, the first thing was, you know, monster movies. King Kong,
- 47:34Speaker 14: Mighty Joe Young, Send Voyage to Sinbad.
- 47:36Speaker 1: Yeah, a lot of the stop-motion films of the 50s
- 47:38Speaker 1: and 60s really got us into monster movies.
- 47:41Speaker 7: And then was there a point when you felt like
- 47:44Speaker 7: you wanted to move into that or was it just
- 47:45Speaker 7: something you sort of did as a hobby when you
- 47:47Speaker 7: were kids?
- 47:49Speaker 1: Well, Stephen has said that it was an extension of play.
- 47:51Speaker 1: We used to play with our play dinosaur sets. We
- 47:53Speaker 1: used to do monsters. We used to play in the woods,
- 47:55Speaker 1: always running from, we'd recreate the monster movies. When we'd
- 47:59Speaker 1: go into the woods, you know, we'd be army men,
- 48:01Speaker 1: you know, running away from dinosaurs. And then when our
- 48:03Speaker 1: family got a Super 8 movie camera, we started, you know,
- 48:07Speaker 1: playing with the camera, telling stories and making movies.
- 48:09Speaker 14: Yeah, we always wanted to make movies without really knowing
- 48:11Speaker 14: what that meant because we're from the East Coast. It
- 48:13Speaker 14: wasn't really, it's not a business, not an industry there. So,
- 48:16Speaker 14: you know, we just figured out how to do it ourselves.
- 48:20Speaker 7: I think that's how most kids start out, just, yeah,
- 48:22Speaker 7: kind of wanting to do it and not knowing how.
- 48:24Speaker 6: Was there any stop motion with the Super 8 at
- 48:26Speaker 6: that point?
- 48:26Speaker 1: We were experimenting with stop motion with a camera that
- 48:29Speaker 1: didn't have a single frame button on it, so we
- 48:32Speaker 1: were taking four and five frames. Animation wasn't what we
- 48:35Speaker 1: were seeing on television, so we were disappointed. Yeah, we
- 48:37Speaker 1: didn't know if we were doing it right. Then we
- 48:40Speaker 1: got a tripod, then we pushed the button really faster,
- 48:42Speaker 1: and then we got pseudo-single-frame animation. Then we made puppets.
- 48:46Speaker 1: We had clay figures, and we tried to make Harry
- 48:49Speaker 1: Hasen type films in Rankin and Bass, one of those
- 48:50Speaker 1: holiday specials back in the 60s. We were doing that
- 48:53Speaker 1: kind of puppet work as well.
- 48:55Speaker 6: Very nice.
- 48:56Speaker 7: So I guess what was your initial crossover into the
- 48:59Speaker 7: professional end of it?
- 49:01Speaker 8: Well.
- 49:03Speaker 1: I went to school for illustration. Edward went to school
- 49:06Speaker 1: for theatrical design and lighting. Stephen went to school for cinematography, animation,
- 49:11Speaker 1: and photography. And Stephen wound up getting a job in
- 49:18Speaker 1: the film industry before anybody. he went down to Washington D.C.
- 49:21Speaker 1: and started working with a stop motion animation studio yeah
- 49:25Speaker 1: we did a clay actually the first clay animated feature
- 49:28Speaker 1: it was called I Go Pogo based on Walt Kelly's
- 49:30Speaker 1: Pogo comic strip it was all clay animation and we
- 49:33Speaker 1: produced it back in the late 70's in Washington D.C.
- 49:36Speaker 1: when that film was finished Charlie and I worked on
- 49:39Speaker 1: that We went to California. Ed met us maybe about
- 49:43Speaker 1: a year or two later on, and we started producing
- 49:45Speaker 1: films and doing special effects in Los Angeles. And I
- 49:48Speaker 1: joined them a couple of years later.
- 49:50Speaker 14: And mainly, it's funny, when you move to California, they
- 49:53Speaker 14: don't let you just make movies. So we had to
- 49:56Speaker 14: make a living by using our art talents. And we
- 49:58Speaker 14: started doing effects and props and other people's projects, TV, movies, commercials.
- 50:05Speaker 7: So there was never a plan early on to team
- 50:08Speaker 7: up together... as kids and made it happen?
- 50:11Speaker 1: Oh, it's really funny. We made films together as kids,
- 50:14Speaker 1: Stephen and I. Edward was a little younger at the time.
- 50:17Speaker 1: But Edward pursued it after we were older. Edward was
- 50:20Speaker 1: pursuing filmmaking too. So it was just natural that we
- 50:23Speaker 1: came together. I think we always felt that we'd be
- 50:25Speaker 1: making films together. I pursued illustration. I was working in
- 50:30Speaker 1: news graphics in Manhattan... while Stephen went down to Washington.
- 50:34Speaker 1: When we went to California... We realized that this is
- 50:37Speaker 1: what we wanted to do, and it was something we enjoyed,
- 50:41Speaker 1: and we were living our dream.
- 50:43Speaker 6: It's interesting, too.
- 50:44Speaker 1: When we came to California, it just kind of epitomized
- 50:49Speaker 1: what it is. We were storytellers from way back when,
- 50:51Speaker 1: so we really had to create our career in California
- 50:54Speaker 1: in order to do movies.
- 50:58Speaker 7: As kids, some brothers have issues getting along. Was there
- 51:02Speaker 7: something like that? Did you guys still have normal... Brother arguments?
- 51:07Speaker 1: What do you mean by normal? What have you heard?
- 51:10Speaker 1: Have you heard that we're called the Kyoto Brawlers?
- 51:14Speaker 9: Exactly.
- 51:15Speaker 1: You're always saying that. That's what people believe now. We
- 51:18Speaker 1: never fight. We always get along. Shut up and give
- 51:20Speaker 1: me the microphone, god damn it. The thing is, we
- 51:24Speaker 1: argued as kids playing. As an adult, you argue when
- 51:29Speaker 1: there's differences of opinion. The fights that we've had were
- 51:33Speaker 1: creative arguments over things like whether the sea monkey should
- 51:36Speaker 1: be wearing shoes or should have webbed feet. And, you know,
- 51:40Speaker 1: we get into some heated arguments about it. It's silly.
- 51:42Speaker 1: When you look back on it, it's kind of silly.
- 51:44Speaker 6: Those are good arguments, actually. You go back, way.
- 51:47Speaker 1: Back, on the internet now, you can see one of
- 51:50Speaker 1: our old films, The Beast from the Egg. And on
- 51:53Speaker 1: the tail end, you can see Kyoto Brothers Productions logo.
- 51:56Speaker 1: So way back in the 60s, we were still talking
- 51:58Speaker 1: about Kyoto Brothers Productions.
- 52:00Speaker 6: That's what's really funny.
- 52:01Speaker 1: We did Kyoto Mation for another Kyoto Brothers production, and
- 52:05Speaker 1: it's really funny. We have a sign here that says
- 52:07Speaker 1: Kyoto Brothers Productions. We have a company that has a
- 52:11Speaker 1: great reputation in Hollywood, Kyoto Brothers Productions. So, yeah, you know,
- 52:16Speaker 1: I think we did have it planned. Oh, yeah, I
- 52:18Speaker 1: can remember when I was in high school. I was
- 52:21Speaker 1: entering film festivals, and we lived in Deer Park, Long Island,
- 52:25Speaker 1: but our address was 158 Park Avenue. I used to
- 52:29Speaker 1: throw the 158 off, and I used to put Kyoto
- 52:31Speaker 1: Brothers Park Avenue, Deer Park, Long Island, because our dad
- 52:34Speaker 1: worked at the post office, and I knew he would
- 52:36Speaker 1: get to us.
- 52:37Speaker 6: I guess it started off pretty early on, and we're
- 52:40Speaker 6: involved in Vincent.
- 52:42Speaker 1: Well, Stephen was actually.
- 52:45Speaker 1: Contacted by Tim Burton, this young animator at Disney. And
- 52:50Speaker 1: he had this idea to do a stop-motion thing, and
- 52:53Speaker 1: he'd heard that Steven did stop-motion.
- 52:55Speaker 8: Oh, yeah.
- 52:55Speaker 1: It was actually one of our first jobs when we
- 52:57Speaker 1: came to California.
- 52:58Speaker 6: It was in the early 80s.
- 52:59Speaker 1: Got a call from these guys at Disney. We called
- 53:01Speaker 1: them the Disney Boys. Rick Heinrichs, his production designer partner,
- 53:06Speaker 1: and Tim Burton. And he showed me these storyboards. from
- 53:10Speaker 1: what was supposed to be an illustrated book, like an
- 53:11Speaker 1: Edward Gorey-type book with Vincent's story. And then we worked
- 53:14Speaker 1: together and collaborated, and Rick Heinrichs made the puppets. I
- 53:18Speaker 1: did the stop-motion and cinematography with our old DP friend,
- 53:21Speaker 1: Victor Avdolov, from our Pogo film. And that was very
- 53:25Speaker 1: early Tim Burton, but it was a really wonderful, wonderful
- 53:27Speaker 1: little film.
- 53:28Speaker 6: It's one of my favorite short films. It's amazing.
- 53:30Speaker 14: And then we were fortunate enough to work with Tim
- 53:32Speaker 14: again on Large Marge and Pee-wee's Big Adventure, his Fairytale
- 53:37Speaker 14: Theater episode.
- 53:39Speaker 1: A bunch of things along the way. And we were
- 53:41Speaker 1: supposed to... He handed us the storyboards for this film
- 53:44Speaker 1: called Beetlejuice. He wanted us to do the effects in that,
- 53:47Speaker 1: but we were busy doing our film, Killer Clowns from
- 53:50Speaker 1: Outer Space.
- 53:52Speaker 6: Well, before we get that far, I did want to
- 53:54Speaker 6: go into Large Marge.
- 53:56Speaker 7: I have to say, I think that is one of
- 53:57Speaker 7: the defining moments in every kid's life at that point,
- 54:01Speaker 7: and probably generations now.
- 54:03Speaker 8: That.
- 54:04Speaker 6: I was not prepared for Large Marge.
- 54:07Speaker 1: We really feel pleased that it is one of the
- 54:10Speaker 1: plum parts of that film, and it's great to be
- 54:13Speaker 1: a part of it. It was a great sequence and
- 54:15Speaker 1: a great gag.
- 54:16Speaker 2: It was really fun.
- 54:17Speaker 1: It was pure Tim Barton. You know, his timing, he
- 54:21Speaker 1: had that gag. He came to us because he didn't
- 54:23Speaker 1: know how he was going to pull it off. Now
- 54:25Speaker 1: they do it with some kind of crazy CG morph,
- 54:27Speaker 1: but actually we built a clay head. We did a
- 54:30Speaker 1: casting of the actress, and Stephen did a clay press,
- 54:33Speaker 1: and then we dressed it with makeup. Oh, yeah, we
- 54:36Speaker 1: had the wig that the actress wore, and we had
- 54:39Speaker 1: her wardrobe. We tried to bring as many real, live
- 54:42Speaker 1: elements to it, but the real trick was that what
- 54:44Speaker 1: made the clay look a little bit more lifelike was
- 54:46Speaker 1: the fact we put makeup on it.
- 54:48Speaker 2: Wow.
- 54:48Speaker 6: And creepy.
- 54:49Speaker 11: Yeah.
- 54:51Speaker 7: Well, that's, yeah, I think that's why that works so
- 54:53Speaker 7: well is, you know, it's a weird moment that catches
- 54:55Speaker 7: you off guard, but it's also so well done.
- 54:57Speaker 6: So that's, yeah, very good. So then I guess into
- 55:01Speaker 6: Killer Klowns.
- 55:02Speaker 7: Where did that concept originally come from?
- 55:05Speaker 1: Well, Stephen asked himself a question, what was the scariest
- 55:08Speaker 1: thing that you could see? Yeah, so for me, I
- 55:11Speaker 1: imagine driving up a lonely mountain road and having a
- 55:14Speaker 1: car pass by, and when I looked to see who
- 55:16Speaker 1: was driving, it's a clown. I mean, for me, a
- 55:18Speaker 1: clown being where it's not supposed to be was pretty freaky.
- 55:21Speaker 1: And then from there, we built the concept from outer space. Yeah,
- 55:25Speaker 1: the fact that if you looked at what if the
- 55:26Speaker 1: clown next to you wasn't in a car? Well, then
- 55:29Speaker 1: it would have to be from outer space. Anyway, it's
- 55:32Speaker 1: really funny. The reason we actually were entertaining... a film
- 55:37Speaker 1: like killer clowns is no one was interested in doing
- 55:39Speaker 1: our stop motion features which are expensive and time consuming
- 55:43Speaker 1: we heard that people were looking for low budget ideas
- 55:46Speaker 1: that could be done with guys in suits so we
- 55:48Speaker 1: said well what are people afraid of you know what
- 55:50Speaker 1: this clown this scary clown idea would be great and
- 55:53Speaker 1: we developed it.
- 55:55Speaker 7: It's still an unconventional idea how did it go trying
- 55:58Speaker 7: to pitch it to studios.
- 56:00Speaker 14: It's funny actually um We had a friend who had
- 56:04Speaker 14: a friend who had just gotten a line of credit
- 56:07Speaker 14: to produce motion pictures. So we went in with a
- 56:09Speaker 14: 20-page treatment, one sheet of artwork that Charlie had done,
- 56:14Speaker 14: a clown holding a puppet gun overlooking a sleepy town,
- 56:18Speaker 14: and then Steven had done a sculpture of the similar
- 56:21Speaker 14: clown image. Went in to pitch it to Trend World Entertainment,
- 56:24Speaker 14: Motion Diamant, pitched it, sold it in the room. We didn't...
- 56:29Speaker 14: Take it anywhere else. Our very first motion picture pitch,
- 56:33Speaker 14: we sold.
- 56:33Speaker 6: It in the room. That's impressive.
- 56:35Speaker 1: With a synopsis. It wasn't even a first draft screenplay.
- 56:39Speaker 1: I think what attracted him to it, I don't think
- 56:41Speaker 1: he got the concept. I think he just liked the title.
- 56:43Speaker 1: He thought Killer Clowns from Outer Space was a title
- 56:45Speaker 1: he could sell.
- 56:45Speaker 14: And then when they found out who we were, our
- 56:49Speaker 14: background in the effects world, that we could actually deliver
- 56:52Speaker 14: this for the low budget.
- 56:54Speaker 7: That's going back to old 60s movies. I mean, that
- 56:57Speaker 7: was sort of the drive-in thing and the little grindhouse thing.
- 57:00Speaker 7: All you needed was a poster and a title and
- 57:02Speaker 7: you could sell it.
- 57:04Speaker 1: That's what he did. He had no idea what we
- 57:06Speaker 1: were getting him into. The art department didn't get a
- 57:11Speaker 1: great part of the budget, but we do what we do. Actually,
- 57:15Speaker 1: whatever money we had, we created the clowns, the props,
- 57:18Speaker 1: the sets, and we were able to shoot it in
- 57:20Speaker 1: Santa Cruz, which had The only requirement we had was
- 57:24Speaker 1: we needed an amusement park by a beach, and that's
- 57:28Speaker 1: what Santa Cruz had.
- 57:30Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah. I mean, did you imagine it catching on?
- 57:36Speaker 7: I guess it was sort of a slow build over
- 57:38Speaker 7: the years, but the audience that it's found now is
- 57:40Speaker 7: pretty impressive.
- 57:41Speaker 1: Yeah, well, it didn't get a very big distribution run.
- 57:44Speaker 1: I think in Los Angeles, it was pick of the
- 57:46Speaker 1: week on the LA Weekly. Then they closed after one week, so...
- 57:50Speaker 1: They kind of trashed it. I think it got its
- 57:52Speaker 1: audience on cable. USA Cable ran the hell out of it.
- 57:55Speaker 1: And a lot of people were just home watching it
- 57:57Speaker 1: again and again and again. And then they loved it
- 57:59Speaker 1: and then they showed their friends. And then those people
- 58:01Speaker 1: got married, had kids, and then their kids watched it.
- 58:03Speaker 1: So it's like multi-generational.
- 58:05Speaker 14: And as for us knowing what we were making, we
- 58:08Speaker 14: just really kind of set out to make a movie
- 58:10Speaker 14: that we would like to go and see.
- 58:13Speaker 6: That's usually when you get the best end result anyway.
- 58:16Speaker 1: I mean, thank God it went to VHS because most
- 58:19Speaker 1: of our audience saw it. you know, on videotape because
- 58:23Speaker 1: it was in the theaters for a week and, you know,
- 58:26Speaker 1: just for like a marginal distribution deal, just a few
- 58:30Speaker 1: theaters for a week across the country. It didn't have 5,000
- 58:34Speaker 1: theaters in 3D.
- 58:36Speaker 6: You know. That's that phase.
- 58:38Speaker 7: It just kind of hit videotape and the fans were
- 58:40Speaker 7: just sort of finding that market and discovering film.
- 58:43Speaker 14: I mean, that was the market that made the film
- 58:46Speaker 14: possible in the first place.
- 58:47Speaker 1: It wasn't for.
- 58:48Speaker 14: the explosion of vhs the video market it wouldn't.
- 58:51Speaker 6: Have been made they were planning on the vhs.
- 58:54Speaker 1: Market yeah pretty much i think theatrical release was just
- 58:56Speaker 1: a way to promote the film for as far as
- 58:59Speaker 1: video distribution.
- 59:00Speaker 6: And oddly enough it's come full circle and that's how
- 59:02Speaker 6: they do it now.
- 59:04Speaker 1: Well we've been trying to get the sequel rights for
- 59:07Speaker 1: a long time. For about the last 27 years, 10 years,
- 59:11Speaker 1: it was in legal limbo, going from one place to another.
- 59:14Speaker 1: It was in litigation. It was in legal hell, basically.
- 59:18Speaker 1: And eventually, MGM and Sony... Actually, MGM got it. Sony
- 59:23Speaker 1: took over MGM. They at least had the... the idea
- 59:29Speaker 1: to put supplemental material when they released it on DVD.
- 59:32Speaker 1: So we were thrilled to be able to show them
- 59:34Speaker 1: the artwork, the development, our kids' films and everything. In fact,
- 59:38Speaker 1: it's the best supplemental package, I think, of any DVD.
- 59:42Speaker 7: That sells to fans now, yeah, once they see all
- 59:44Speaker 7: that's on there. Well, I guess it changed a little
- 59:48Speaker 7: bit to Critters. Is that something that came to you
- 59:51Speaker 7: with that project? We were very fortunate. Let me see,
- 59:56Speaker 7: it was produced by New Line Cinema.
- 59:57Speaker 1: Kevin Yeager, who was doing the special effects for the
- 59:59Speaker 1: Nightmare series, was offered Critters, and he graciously suggested us
- 1:00:04Speaker 1: to do it because he was too busy. And it
- 1:00:06Speaker 1: really was our first key job, key meaning that we
- 1:00:10Speaker 1: were doing all the Critter effects in the film.
- 1:00:13Speaker 14: That was our first job that we were being approached
- 1:00:15Speaker 14: to key a show. And I remember when we went
- 1:00:18Speaker 14: to the interview... We forgot to bring our book, our portfolio.
- 1:00:21Speaker 14: It was the days before DVDs and videotapes. So we
- 1:00:25Speaker 14: forgot to bring our book. But they had told us
- 1:00:26Speaker 14: what it was about.
- 1:00:27Speaker 1: We had read the script.
- 1:00:28Speaker 14: So kind of on the way there, Charlie had done
- 1:00:31Speaker 14: some rough sketches of basically a furball with teeth. So
- 1:00:35Speaker 14: the fact that we didn't have our book was, you know,
- 1:00:38Speaker 14: we overcame that by being able to show them designs
- 1:00:41Speaker 14: that Charlie had come up with.
- 1:00:42Speaker 1: And they were just hooked at that point. Yeah, which
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: it would change from now because now you have to do,
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: to prove yourself, you have to show a 15-minute recorded demo,
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: you know, of what you do.
- 1:00:52Speaker 6: Make it first and then show it off. Yeah.
- 1:00:56Speaker 1: No, but that was a great thing. Stephen Herrick was
- 1:00:57Speaker 1: the director. Dominic Muir wrote it. Bounty hunters going after
- 1:01:02Speaker 1: escaped furball, creatures that escaped from an intergalactic prison. We're in.
- 1:01:07Speaker 6: Definitely.
- 1:01:09Speaker 7: And then Team America, is that another one that they
- 1:01:12Speaker 7: were looking for someone to do?
- 1:01:14Speaker 1: That was a funny one.
- 1:01:15Speaker 14: Yeah, actually, Team America, we were the second company they
- 1:01:20Speaker 14: brought in. The first company kind of dropped the ball
- 1:01:23Speaker 14: big time.
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: The movie was in limbo. It wasn't going to happen.
- 1:01:27Speaker 14: So they came to us not only because of our
- 1:01:29Speaker 14: puppet experience, but our production experience.
- 1:01:31Speaker 1: We had done our own productions. We knew how to.
- 1:01:34Speaker 14: Really handle a special project like that. So we came
- 1:01:38Speaker 14: in and reorganized the whole puppet department and really helped
- 1:01:42Speaker 14: make that movie with the talents of an amazing production staff.
- 1:01:46Speaker 6: Did they already have a design?
- 1:01:48Speaker 7: Did Trey Parker have something in mind already?
- 1:01:50Speaker 1: Yeah, Trey wanted the marination.
- 1:01:53Speaker 6: What was it called? Super marination.
- 1:01:55Speaker 1: Yes, Thunderbirds. Yeah, Thunderbirds. Jerry Anderson's super marination thing. He
- 1:01:59Speaker 1: just wanted to kind of knock that off. So the
- 1:02:01Speaker 1: design style of the characters, even though they were caricatures
- 1:02:04Speaker 1: of celebrities.
- 1:02:06Speaker 1: He wanted it to be within that Jerry Anderson style.
- 1:02:09Speaker 7: And then, I guess just, I mean, it's kind of
- 1:02:11Speaker 7: a huge deal for anybody to work with in The Simpsons.
- 1:02:14Speaker 7: Even more strange, I guess, that you're working in a
- 1:02:16Speaker 7: different medium. I mean, they're animated in a different way.
- 1:02:19Speaker 7: So how is it that, and then how big a
- 1:02:21Speaker 7: deal was it to be.
- 1:02:22Speaker 6: Involved with it?
- 1:02:23Speaker 1: Oh, that's a real treat for us because we love
- 1:02:24Speaker 1: the show and it's been around for so long. So
- 1:02:26Speaker 1: whenever they've got a little specialty gag with stop motion... Fortunately,
- 1:02:31Speaker 1: they come to us. So we've done a couch gag,
- 1:02:33Speaker 1: and we've done, what, three or four specialty gags, stop motion.
- 1:02:37Speaker 14: We have the distinction of shooting the first live-action person
- 1:02:41Speaker 14: ever to appear on a Simpsons episode, Katy Perry.
- 1:02:44Speaker 6: That's cool.
- 1:02:45Speaker 1: Yeah, so whenever they go off-model, they come to us.
- 1:02:47Speaker 14: We have a lot of friends over there, so we
- 1:02:50Speaker 14: get to work with David Silverman, Mike Anderson, all the guys.
- 1:02:53Speaker 6: And the angry dad was kind of a fun one.
- 1:02:56Speaker 1: That was fun, yeah. I mean, to do a parody
- 1:02:59Speaker 1: of Aardman and then have... Nick Park be in the episode. Yeah,
- 1:03:03Speaker 1: and he liked it, so that was like a good
- 1:03:05Speaker 1: kudos for us.
- 1:03:06Speaker 6: That's great. Did you have stuff.
- 1:03:09Speaker 7: You wanted to tell people out as far as new
- 1:03:10Speaker 7: projects you have in the works? I know the Killer
- 1:03:14Speaker 7: Clowns issue is tied up. Do we know where that
- 1:03:17Speaker 7: stands at this point?
- 1:03:19Speaker 1: If Killer Clowns... was under our control, we'd already be
- 1:03:24Speaker 1: doing Killer Clowns 5. There'd be three versions of the
- 1:03:27Speaker 1: video game and the TV series already on. So it's
- 1:03:32Speaker 1: on a back burner. Negotiations are in the works to
- 1:03:35Speaker 1: see if we're going to be able to do something
- 1:03:37Speaker 1: with it. In terms of Kyoto Brothers production, we're developing merchandising.
- 1:03:41Speaker 1: We're trying to diversify. The entertainment industry is different. So
- 1:03:44Speaker 1: we're trying to get into different areas. What are some
- 1:03:46Speaker 1: of the other projects we're working on?
- 1:03:48Speaker 14: We have several feature film things where we're going. One
- 1:03:51Speaker 14: based on a book, our first children's book, Alien X-Men.
- 1:03:54Speaker 14: We hope to do that as a grand stop-motion movie.
- 1:03:58Speaker 14: There's another wild adventure on an open sea that we're
- 1:04:02Speaker 14: out there developing.
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, that's called The Italian Odyssey. It's about Christopher
- 1:04:06Speaker 1: Columbus' younger brother, Guido, who goes out and proves the
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: world is flat.
- 1:04:10Speaker 6: And does.
- 1:04:11Speaker 1: Oh, yeah, and earlier Christmas, that's the story about these
- 1:04:13Speaker 1: aliens that attack Earth, and they land at the North Pole,
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: so Santa and the elves are the first line of
- 1:04:17Speaker 1: defense against the alien invasion.
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: Nice.
- 1:04:20Speaker 1: The same old stuff, we just take two diverse elements
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: and kind of smash them together and see what happens. Yeah,
- 1:04:25Speaker 1: and the difficulty with that is selling original projects when
- 1:04:28Speaker 1: everyone wants to just remake old stuff. They're remaking old
- 1:04:30Speaker 1: television shows, and I don't understand it because that's just
- 1:04:35Speaker 1: as much of a hit and miss, but somehow because
- 1:04:37Speaker 1: there was an audience that liked the Brady Bunch... They
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: want to make a Brady Bunch movie.
- 1:04:41Speaker 6: We complain about that a lot.
- 1:04:43Speaker 7: It's such a weird product recognition thing that the corporates
- 1:04:47Speaker 7: need just to make anything. If it's a title we've
- 1:04:50Speaker 7: heard of, that's really all we need, whether it's good
- 1:04:52Speaker 7: or not.
- 1:04:52Speaker 1: You have to vacuum with those bean counters, those corporate guys,
- 1:04:55Speaker 1: those business guys. They don't have a creative bone in
- 1:04:56Speaker 1: their body, so they second-guess the creative community by going
- 1:05:01Speaker 1: to the accounting and saying, okay, this made money back
- 1:05:03Speaker 1: in the 80s or something, so let's remake it. Nobody's
- 1:05:07Speaker 1: always interested in doing Killer Clowns 2, but they wanted
- 1:05:10Speaker 1: to leave it to Beaver to feature.
- 1:05:12Speaker 6: Yeah, that's what we need. I think that was pretty
- 1:05:15Speaker 6: much it. Did you want to have people go to
- 1:05:16Speaker 6: your website? No, I can't.
- 1:05:21Speaker 8: Okay.
- 1:05:22Speaker 6: Anything else you wanted to plug? Yeah, that is cool.
- 1:05:24Speaker 6: Thank you. Thank you for talking to us.
- 1:05:26Speaker 5: Don't you love the forest? My fault I fear I
- 1:05:38Speaker 5: thought that you'd want what I want Sorry, my dear
- 1:05:48Speaker 5: But where are the clowns? Send in the clowns Don't bother,
- 1:06:01Speaker 5: they're here.
- 1:06:07Speaker 11: Dave, I do not get superheroes.
- 1:06:09Speaker 6: Oh my god, I don't get you.
- 1:06:11Speaker 2: What don't you get?
- 1:06:12Speaker 9: Towerbot here.
- 1:06:14Speaker 3: Well, the meatbags were going to say that if you're
- 1:06:17Speaker 3: a geek and like podcasts, then you could try Tower
- 1:06:20Speaker 3: of Technobabble at www.toweroftechnobabble.com.
- 1:06:25Speaker 9: Then this started.
- 1:06:28Speaker 3: Well, it's up to you. I'm gonna get my taser
- 1:06:31Speaker 3: and put a stop to this.
- 1:06:32Speaker 11: Towerbot out. Okay, monkeys.
- 1:06:36Speaker 3: It's noctilony.
- 1:07:01Speaker 8: Hi, this is Lance Henderson, and you're listening to Movie Meltdown.
- 1:07:04Speaker 11: Listen if you dare.
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: We've lost contact with colony on LV-426.
- 1:07:13Speaker 15: Call up the Marines because those.
- 1:07:16Speaker 7: Colonists be dead.
- 1:07:18Speaker 11: Those colonists be dead.
- 1:07:20Speaker 2: The aliens killed them.
- 1:07:23Speaker 8: All right, we're.
- 1:07:31Speaker 7: Here with Jeanette Goldstein. I guess I wanted to get into,
- 1:07:35Speaker 7: early on, were you planning on going into acting or
- 1:07:40Speaker 7: anything in the performance?
- 1:07:41Speaker 9: Absolutely.
- 1:07:42Speaker 8: Yep.
- 1:07:42Speaker 10: I always wanted to be an actress since I was
- 1:07:44Speaker 10: a little girl.
- 1:07:45Speaker 6: Had you started training, or at one time, had I
- 1:07:47Speaker 6: read that you were a gymnast?
- 1:07:49Speaker 13: Oh, I did gymnastics from 9 to 12 years old.
- 1:07:54Speaker 13: And then that was the last time.
- 1:07:57Speaker 10: I was never a professional gymnast.
- 1:07:59Speaker 13: No, I graduated high school and went to college and
- 1:08:03Speaker 13: majored in theater and went to an acting conservatory.
- 1:08:05Speaker 10: And after I finished that, I started working.
- 1:08:09Speaker 6: And lucked into a pretty good first job as far
- 1:08:12Speaker 6: as film work?
- 1:08:14Speaker 13: Yeah, you know, I mean, I'd been working quite many
- 1:08:17Speaker 13: years on the stage, but I did luck out. It
- 1:08:19Speaker 13: was an open call, and, you know, I had no
- 1:08:22Speaker 13: agent or anything and was overseas. And, yeah, so that
- 1:08:26Speaker 13: was my first job, you know, on screen.
- 1:08:28Speaker 6: How is it described to you, the role of Vasquez?
- 1:08:32Speaker 10: Oh, well, actually, it was an audition.
- 1:08:33Speaker 13: The audition noticed they just wanted actors, American-born actors, American
- 1:08:40Speaker 13: and Canadian actors who could work in England. And it
- 1:08:46Speaker 13: was for a movie called Aliens. And, you know, it
- 1:08:50Speaker 13: crossed my mind briefly that it might be a sequel.
- 1:08:53Speaker 13: But then I just thought since Americans, any immigrant in England,
- 1:08:58Speaker 13: they're called a resident alien. So I thought it was about,
- 1:09:01Speaker 13: you know, Americans living in England, you know, who have
- 1:09:05Speaker 13: like a green card or something.
- 1:09:06Speaker 6: I don't know. You never know.
- 1:09:08Speaker 13: This is why you should have an agent because then
- 1:09:11Speaker 13: they tell you what the actual damn audition is about.
- 1:09:14Speaker 6: So when you got in there, I mean, did they have...
- 1:09:17Speaker 6: Her in mind?
- 1:09:17Speaker 7: Like, did they already have it set to be, you know,
- 1:09:21Speaker 7: the accent and the look and everything?
- 1:09:23Speaker 10: Well, I wasn't auditioning for Vasquez.
- 1:09:25Speaker 13: I was auditioning for either, I'm not sure exactly which role,
- 1:09:29Speaker 13: because I wasn't really sure it was either going to
- 1:09:31Speaker 13: be the role of Dietrich or Pharaoh.
- 1:09:34Speaker 10: That's who they were looking for.
- 1:09:35Speaker 13: But they gave me the lines of Vasquez to read,
- 1:09:38Speaker 13: and I guess they gave that to all the women
- 1:09:40Speaker 13: who were auditioning, because they didn't have as many lines.
- 1:09:43Speaker 13: And it just turned out that once I read it,
- 1:09:46Speaker 13: they started thinking, oh, you know, maybe we could cast
- 1:09:49Speaker 13: her and whatever.
- 1:09:51Speaker 6: Had you done that type of accent on stage before?
- 1:09:55Speaker 13: No, I hadn't done it on stage. I've always been
- 1:09:57Speaker 13: really good with accents. And also, I grew up in
- 1:10:00Speaker 13: Los Angeles, so I knew that accent. So, you know,
- 1:10:02Speaker 13: I'd heard it, you know, growing up. So, but yeah, no,
- 1:10:06Speaker 13: I love doing accents.
- 1:10:08Speaker 7: And then did they, I guess, work in a little
- 1:10:10Speaker 7: bit of body paint to sort of give you a
- 1:10:12Speaker 7: little darker tone?
- 1:10:14Speaker 8: Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
- 1:10:15Speaker 13: I mean, that was from the start, yeah, because I'm
- 1:10:18Speaker 13: pretty light-skinned with freckles, and so they darkened me up.
- 1:10:24Speaker 7: And then you were pretty impressive on the pull-ups there.
- 1:10:29Speaker 6: Had you been working out massively for that?
- 1:10:32Speaker 10: Yes, I had been working out massively for that.
- 1:10:36Speaker 9: Many years.
- 1:10:36Speaker 13: Actually, two years straight I had been weight training, going
- 1:10:41Speaker 13: to the gym.
- 1:10:42Speaker 10: And I was in the best shape of my life.
- 1:10:45Speaker 13: It was just a complete coincidence that they got me
- 1:10:47Speaker 13: right at that point. And, yeah, I was amazingly strong.
- 1:10:51Speaker 13: I mean, I can't even do... one sissy pull-up now.
- 1:10:56Speaker 13: I'm not even close, you know. But, I mean, I actually,
- 1:11:00Speaker 13: because I was a gymnast and a tomboy when I
- 1:11:02Speaker 13: was a little girl, I used to do pull-ups all
- 1:11:03Speaker 13: the time.
- 1:11:04Speaker 10: So I always was really strong.
- 1:11:06Speaker 13: I used to have a chin-up bar in my room
- 1:11:08Speaker 13: and things like that. So, and, you know, anyway, I
- 1:11:11Speaker 13: actually won chin-up champion, high school chin-up champion of Los Angeles.
- 1:11:17Speaker 10: Nice. I did ten pull-ups. The nearest girl, I think,
- 1:11:21Speaker 10: did one and a half. So there you go.
- 1:11:23Speaker 6: You're showing them up.
- 1:11:24Speaker 10: A little-known Jeanette Goldstein fact.
- 1:11:28Speaker 7: Well, even the gun you're carrying is almost as big
- 1:11:31Speaker 7: as you are at that point.
- 1:11:32Speaker 10: Exactly, yes. Height is not my strong point.
- 1:11:35Speaker 7: But I guess the military training, you went through all
- 1:11:38Speaker 7: that with the rest of the gang there?
- 1:11:40Speaker 10: Yeah, they had a couple of guys.
- 1:11:42Speaker 13: Two of the stuntmen had been in the— actually, one of
- 1:11:45Speaker 13: them had been in the SAS, which is the British
- 1:11:47Speaker 13: Special Forces— And, yeah, we went through gun handling and
- 1:11:51Speaker 13: how to work as a military team. And, you know,
- 1:11:54Speaker 13: one of the actors, Al, he had been in the Marines,
- 1:11:58Speaker 13: so he added, you know, it was great. It was
- 1:12:00Speaker 13: a really fantastic rehearsal period.
- 1:12:03Speaker 7: Well, the other thing I was going to ask is
- 1:12:05Speaker 7: as far as the character itself and your relationships with Drake,
- 1:12:10Speaker 7: and in particular, there's a very specific dynamic between.
- 1:12:14Speaker 6: The two of you. Was that in the script or
- 1:12:16Speaker 6: is it something that you guys.
- 1:12:17Speaker 13: Worked on Well, it was in the script. But, you know,
- 1:12:23Speaker 13: I mean, the two of us, we hit it off
- 1:12:24Speaker 13: so well. And we still are just close.
- 1:12:28Speaker 10: Friends, best of friends. And I don't know.
- 1:12:31Speaker 13: Yeah, you know, just obviously it was intimated in the script. But, no,
- 1:12:35Speaker 13: I mean, something about, you know, Mark and I, we
- 1:12:37Speaker 13: just really hit it off.
- 1:12:38Speaker 7: Because for, you know, little screen time on those type
- 1:12:41Speaker 7: of relationships, it comes across so well.
- 1:12:44Speaker 6: Thank you.
- 1:12:45Speaker 7: Thank you. And then I guess just working with Cameron
- 1:12:50Speaker 7: at that point in his career, I guess that was
- 1:12:51Speaker 7: still relatively early on for him.
- 1:12:53Speaker 6: What was he like as a director then?
- 1:12:55Speaker 10: Oh, just, you know, he's like been the same always.
- 1:12:59Speaker 10: Like he just doesn't, you know, he doesn't change.
- 1:13:02Speaker 13: I mean, he is focused and directed and expects everyone
- 1:13:06Speaker 13: to work at the same level as he does.
- 1:13:08Speaker 6: And, you know.
- 1:13:08Speaker 13: He does not suffer fools, which is fine with me.
- 1:13:13Speaker 13: God help you if you're lazy or incompetent. That's how
- 1:13:16Speaker 13: my father was, and that's fine with me. And he's
- 1:13:18Speaker 13: just the greatest guy. He's talented and funny and very
- 1:13:26Speaker 13: loyal to his friends and family and people around him.
- 1:13:30Speaker 1: He's great.
- 1:13:31Speaker 6: Definitely. You worked with him a few more times.
- 1:13:33Speaker 7: By the time you hit Titanic, was there a noticeable
- 1:13:36Speaker 7: difference just in the way he operated?
- 1:13:38Speaker 8: No.
- 1:13:38Speaker 6: Probably a much bigger operation as a whole at that point.
- 1:13:42Speaker 10: You know, it was, but no. Absolutely the same.
- 1:13:44Speaker 13: I mean, I know, like, speaking with Gail, you know,
- 1:13:48Speaker 13: Gail Ann Hurd, who, you know, was his wife, was
- 1:13:51Speaker 13: married to him. But before that, she said it was
- 1:13:53Speaker 13: the first time.
- 1:13:54Speaker 10: She met him. She met him.
- 1:13:56Speaker 13: She was doing, I don't know if it was an
- 1:13:58Speaker 13: internship or her first job was with, like, the Corman Studios.
- 1:14:02Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:14:03Speaker 13: As a produce you know working there and she said
- 1:14:05Speaker 13: the first time she she met him she ran into
- 1:14:07Speaker 13: him he was in the um you know the painting
- 1:14:09Speaker 13: division he was a painter and he she he showed
- 1:14:12Speaker 13: her around the department and by his manner she assumed
- 1:14:17Speaker 13: he was the head of the art department that she
- 1:14:20Speaker 13: had met the head of the art department.
- 1:14:21Speaker 10: Obviously and he was just you know like a secondary.
- 1:14:24Speaker 13: Assistant painter but he has always been that way you
- 1:14:27Speaker 13: know i'm sure if you talk to his mom she'd
- 1:14:29Speaker 13: tell you the same thing you know The other.
- 1:14:31Speaker 7: Main one I wanted to hit, I wanted to talk
- 1:14:33Speaker 7: about Near Dark. That came about at the same time,
- 1:14:37Speaker 7: I guess. And from what I hear, you.
- 1:14:39Speaker 6: Guys didn't even know. You were all sort of looking
- 1:14:41Speaker 6: at the same moon.
- 1:14:42Speaker 10: Yeah, you know.
- 1:14:44Speaker 13: it went after aliens opened I moved back to the
- 1:14:47Speaker 13: United States and I was living with my folks and
- 1:14:51Speaker 13: I got a phone call from a woman who said
- 1:14:53Speaker 13: she was a friend of James Cameron's and she had
- 1:14:56Speaker 13: a script for me and I couldn't figure out you
- 1:14:59Speaker 13: know is this real you know she got my mother's
- 1:15:02Speaker 13: he gave her she called him because I didn't have
- 1:15:05Speaker 13: again I didn't have an American agent I don't know
- 1:15:07Speaker 13: I've always had problems with agents it seems like no
- 1:15:11Speaker 13: it's true I have that's my one problem um And
- 1:15:14Speaker 13: so he gave me, well, I know her mom's phone number.
- 1:15:17Speaker 10: And, yeah, you know, I read it.
- 1:15:18Speaker 13: And, you know, I just didn't mention it to anyone
- 1:15:21Speaker 13: because it.
- 1:15:22Speaker 10: Was hard to explain.
- 1:15:23Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:15:24Speaker 13: That you had read a script about vampires in the
- 1:15:27Speaker 13: West and it was really good. You know, and I
- 1:15:30Speaker 13: thought if I say this to anyone, I'm going to
- 1:15:31Speaker 13: be so embarrassed. And then we, all of us thought
- 1:15:34Speaker 13: the same thing.
- 1:15:35Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 1:15:35Speaker 10: We all just thought, I'll just keep this under wraps.
- 1:15:38Speaker 10: And then we first, we show up and there all
- 1:15:40Speaker 10: of us are. I mean, it was crazy.
- 1:15:41Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:15:41Speaker 6: I was going to have you go into what you've
- 1:15:43Speaker 6: got going on now.
- 1:15:45Speaker 13: Well, what I am doing right now, I mean, I
- 1:15:47Speaker 13: have done, I just did an independent film. And hopefully
- 1:15:51Speaker 13: this film will be bought and somebody will get to
- 1:15:53Speaker 13: see it. But actually what I'm doing right now is
- 1:15:56Speaker 13: I own two lingerie stores in Los Angeles. And they're
- 1:16:01Speaker 13: called Jeanette Bras. And the slogan is the alphabet starts
- 1:16:04Speaker 13: at D. And we sell beautiful lingerie from Europe for
- 1:16:10Speaker 13: busty money.
- 1:16:11Speaker 8: Women.
- 1:16:13Speaker 13: I don't know. It's hard work, but like my husband says,
- 1:16:16Speaker 13: I'm doing the Lord's work.
- 1:16:17Speaker 7: Was it something you were interested in beforehand, or did
- 1:16:21Speaker 7: you just sort of fall into it?
- 1:16:22Speaker 10: No, I just kind of fell into it. What can
- 1:16:24Speaker 10: I say?
- 1:16:24Speaker 6: You can't go wrong with that.
- 1:16:26Speaker 8: Or fell out of it.
- 1:16:29Speaker 6: Not on her. She has top quality.
- 1:16:32Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:16:32Speaker 10: I think we better wrap this up.
- 1:16:34Speaker 6: Getting out of control.
- 1:16:37Speaker 15: I got movement, there's movement all up on my motion tracker.
- 1:16:43Speaker 2: They're coming out of the walls and I'm getting burned.
- 1:16:46Speaker 4: A-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a-a Tweaked Audio, your source for high-performance, noise-reducing earbuds.

- 1:17:41Speaker 2: It's part of your problem, you know, you haven't seen
- 1:17:43Speaker 2: enough movies. All of life's riddles.
- 1:17:46Speaker 11: Are answered in the movies.
- 1:17:48Speaker 9: And now, on with the show. Cashing and daring, courageous
- 1:17:58Speaker 9: and caring.
- 1:17:59Speaker 1: Faithful and friendly with stories to share.
- 1:18:03Speaker 15: All through the forest they sing out in chorus, marching
- 1:18:06Speaker 15: along as their song.
- 1:18:08Speaker 7: Fills the air.
- 1:18:09Speaker 15: Gummy bears, bouncing here and there and everywhere.
- 1:18:15Speaker 12: High adventure that.
- 1:18:16Speaker 5: We all compare.
- 1:18:18Speaker 15: They are the gummy bears.
- 1:18:23Speaker 7: All right, we are back in the car, heading back
- 1:18:26Speaker 7: from the big convention.
- 1:18:28Speaker 8: I'm fucking exhausted, dude.
- 1:18:29Speaker 6: Yeah, me too.
- 1:18:30Speaker 2: I don't know. I'm kind of wired.
- 1:18:32Speaker 8: You would be.
- 1:18:33Speaker 6: That's good. You're driving.
- 1:18:34Speaker 8: What?
- 1:18:35Speaker 6: Oh, yeah.
- 1:18:37Speaker 8: It's been a long day. We got there shortly after
- 1:18:41Speaker 8: the place even opened, I guess. And now it's two
- 1:18:45Speaker 8: after midnight.
- 1:18:46Speaker 6: And we're still... a couple hours drive.
- 1:18:51Speaker 8: Yeah, we have an hour and 43 minutes to go.
- 1:18:53Speaker 8: That's until we get to our house. And we're going
- 1:18:55Speaker 8: to your house first. And you live further away.
- 1:18:57Speaker 6: So you suck. Whatever.
- 1:19:01Speaker 8: But anyways, it's been a fantastic day. We got to
- 1:19:04Speaker 8: hang out with some pretty fantastic people. We got to
- 1:19:07Speaker 8: hang out with.
- 1:19:08Speaker 2: Lots of friends.
- 1:19:10Speaker 8: We got to hang out with Randy, our, I'm pretty sure,
- 1:19:13Speaker 8: one listener. He's our one listener. Fozzie Bear, who is fantastic.
- 1:19:20Speaker 8: He's called him before, hasn't he?
- 1:19:22Speaker 6: Yeah, yeah, we're from Fozzie Bear.
- 1:19:24Speaker 2: That's kind of like two listeners.
- 1:19:27Speaker 6: And Mikey.
- 1:19:27Speaker 2: That's three listeners.
- 1:19:30Speaker 8: Holy shnikes.
- 1:19:31Speaker 6: We may have, some of the other people there may listen,
- 1:19:34Speaker 6: but it's kind of hit and miss.
- 1:19:36Speaker 8: Those are our three favorites, though. Not that we really
- 1:19:38Speaker 8: play favorites, but.
- 1:19:39Speaker 6: You definitely do.
- 1:19:40Speaker 8: Randy, Fozzie, Baron, Metal Monkey.
- 1:19:42Speaker 9: Yeah.
- 1:19:43Speaker 8: You're my favorites.
- 1:19:45Speaker 2: There's other people.
- 1:19:46Speaker 8: And Lisa.
- 1:19:47Speaker 2: And Lisa.
- 1:19:48Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:19:49Speaker 8: And Troy.
- 1:19:49Speaker 6: And Tabitha. Troy has listened in the past. He might
- 1:19:53Speaker 6: still be out there. I don't.
- 1:19:56Speaker 5: Know.
- 1:19:56Speaker 8: I sure as hell don't listen.
- 1:19:57Speaker 6: Yeah, really. Yeah, I don't listen either. Neither of you
- 1:20:00Speaker 6: can talk, so there. Well, I don't want to hear.
- 1:20:03Speaker 2: We don't want to hear ourselves.
- 1:20:04Speaker 6: You're not on him most of the time.
- 1:20:07Speaker 8: What?
- 1:20:07Speaker 6: Did you just figure that part out? What are you
- 1:20:09Speaker 6: talking about?
- 1:20:09Speaker 8: He's implying that we can listen to the ones that
- 1:20:11Speaker 8: we're not on. Fuck, why would I want to do that?
- 1:20:13Speaker 8: I'm not on it.
- 1:20:13Speaker 2: Yeah, I can't listen to podcasts at work.
- 1:20:18Speaker 6: You need to talk to your work. This needs to
- 1:20:20Speaker 6: be a change.
- 1:20:21Speaker 2: It's too loud in there. I mean, there's too much
- 1:20:24Speaker 2: work going on.
- 1:20:25Speaker 6: They need to be quiet.
- 1:20:25Speaker 2: A lot of hammering.
- 1:20:26Speaker 10: Be like, shh.
- 1:20:27Speaker 6: No.
- 1:20:28Speaker 2: No, that's the opposite of me.
- 1:20:30Speaker 6: I'm as loud as possible. I'm listening to a podcast.
- 1:20:34Speaker 2: I'm purposely loud on purpose.
- 1:20:36Speaker 8: Purposefully loud on purpose?
- 1:20:38Speaker 2: I do it to drive the suits up the wall.
- 1:20:40Speaker 2: They come in there and I hammer on stuff and
- 1:20:43Speaker 2: set things on fire and cause the occasional explosion. Anything
- 1:20:48Speaker 2: to make a lot of noise and scare people.
- 1:20:50Speaker 8: Should I complain about Metal Mikey now?
- 1:20:54Speaker 6: We told him you were going to, so go ahead.
- 1:20:56Speaker 8: Well, when we first got to this convention, they made
- 1:20:59Speaker 8: us park across the street and told us that a
- 1:21:00Speaker 8: shuttle would come get us. So we got over there,
- 1:21:02Speaker 8: we parked, the shuttle brings us over, we're driving along
- 1:21:04Speaker 8: a little road, and I see Metal Mikey walking down
- 1:21:07Speaker 8: the street, and I get, like, super excited. I'm like,
- 1:21:09Speaker 8: oh my god, it's Metal Mikey! And I'm like, I'm waving,
- 1:21:12Speaker 8: and I'm, like, all enthusiastic, and he fucking snubs me, like, blatantly, like.
- 1:21:17Speaker 6: Snubs me.
- 1:21:18Speaker 2: You know, in Metal Mikey's defense, you were behind tinted glass. Yeah,
- 1:21:22Speaker 2: in a.
- 1:21:23Speaker 6: Passing car on the road, and he was on the sidewalk.
- 1:21:25Speaker 6: That's no excuse.
- 1:21:26Speaker 8: My awesome just shines through all of it.
- 1:21:29Speaker 7: I did say he probably should have sensed the misty
- 1:21:31Speaker 7: in the forest and been like, ah, she's nearby, I
- 1:21:34Speaker 7: know it.
- 1:21:34Speaker 6: But, you know.
- 1:21:35Speaker 8: He did make an attempt to make amends for it
- 1:21:37Speaker 8: during the day, so I guess I'll give him credit
- 1:21:38Speaker 8: for that, but. we'll see if I ever show enthusiasm
- 1:21:42Speaker 8: for seeing anybody ever again, because you see what it
- 1:21:45Speaker 8: got me, and I'll say what I said earlier, a
- 1:21:47Speaker 8: whole fistful of nothing. Is that what.
- 1:21:50Speaker 2: I said earlier?
- 1:21:50Speaker 6: Yeah, I believe it is.
- 1:21:51Speaker 8: I'm tired.
- 1:21:53Speaker 11: Whatever.
- 1:21:57Speaker 8: It was a fun day. We hung out with a
- 1:22:00Speaker 8: lot of people. I can't say, did I meet anybody new?
- 1:22:03Speaker 8: Because I usually don't do well with new people.
- 1:22:06Speaker 6: I think we met some new people along the way.
- 1:22:08Speaker 8: I shook some hands. Yeah. I forgot my hand sanitizer.
- 1:22:11Speaker 6: What the hell are you thinking?
- 1:22:13Speaker 2: She shook some babies and kissed some hands.
- 1:22:16Speaker 8: Oh, I don't touch babies if I can help it.
- 1:22:18Speaker 8: I got hugged several times today.
- 1:22:20Speaker 6: Out of control.
- 1:22:21Speaker 8: I know, right?
- 1:22:23Speaker 2: Hey, does Chuck ever listen to the show?
- 1:22:25Speaker 6: Hi, Chuck.
- 1:22:26Speaker 2: I don't know if you listen or not, but thanks again.
- 1:22:28Speaker 2: Thanks to you and your wife. And you guys are awesome.
- 1:22:31Speaker 2: And your sculptures are awesome. And anybody who likes cool
- 1:22:34Speaker 2: magnetic hand sculpted stuff, check out Chuck. At skull13. com, I think.
- 1:22:42Speaker 6: I think that's the website.
- 1:22:44Speaker 2: I could totally be making it up, but it's skull13. So, there.
- 1:22:48Speaker 8: Like the number written out or the number like 1-3?
- 1:22:50Speaker 2: I think the number 1-3.
- 1:22:52Speaker 6: Yeah, it's 1-3 on the signage. I'm assuming that would
- 1:22:55Speaker 6: be the website.
- 1:22:56Speaker 8: Chuck's awesome.
- 1:22:57Speaker 6: Chuck is awesome.
- 1:22:58Speaker 2: He's an awesome guy. And as long as I continue
- 1:23:00Speaker 2: to suck my gut in, I'll look halfway decent in pictures, so.
- 1:23:05Speaker 8: Totally thought you were going somewhere else with that one.
- 1:23:08Speaker 6: I was like, wait a minute, what kind of situation
- 1:23:11Speaker 6: is this? How did we get those passes?
- 1:23:13Speaker 2: What the hell are you talking about?
- 1:23:16Speaker 8: Shut up.
- 1:23:18Speaker 6: You did kind of walk right into that one.
- 1:23:20Speaker 8: I love you. So we hung out with a lot
- 1:23:24Speaker 8: of awesome people. We had a good dinner with some
- 1:23:27Speaker 8: fantastic people.
- 1:23:29Speaker 2: Yes.
- 1:23:30Speaker 8: It was a fucking huge-ass hamburger, by the way. I
- 1:23:32Speaker 8: don't remember the name of the place that we went to,
- 1:23:34Speaker 8: but it had a big hamburger.
- 1:23:36Speaker 6: The Lincoln Square?
- 1:23:37Speaker 2: Lincoln Square.
- 1:23:38Speaker 9: Lincoln Square, yes.
- 1:23:38Speaker 6: I believe, yes.
- 1:23:39Speaker 2: Home of the big-ass fucking $ 6 hamburger. I mean, damn,
- 1:23:44Speaker 2: that's a big hunk of beef you got to choke down.
- 1:23:47Speaker 2: I mean, that's a big fucking hamburger.
- 1:23:49Speaker 6: Okay, you did it again. Aside from.
- 1:23:53Speaker 2: Aside from the nasty mayonnaise that they send out to you.
- 1:23:56Speaker 6: It's not getting any better. No, I mean, they give
- 1:23:58Speaker 6: you these cups.
- 1:23:59Speaker 2: Of mayonnaise, and the shit's already yellowed around the edges.
- 1:24:02Speaker 2: I mean, it's just pretty damn gross.
- 1:24:03Speaker 8: Mayo film.
- 1:24:05Speaker 2: Yeah, and then Randy got his, I don't know what
- 1:24:07Speaker 2: that was he got.
- 1:24:08Speaker 6: His chicken fish?
- 1:24:09Speaker 2: His chicken that was breaded like fish that was just, really,
- 1:24:13Speaker 2: I kind of felt bad.
- 1:24:14Speaker 6: Get the hamburger.
- 1:24:16Speaker 2: I kind of felt bad for Randy and his fish chicken,
- 1:24:19Speaker 2: chicken fish.
- 1:24:20Speaker 8: He was very sensitive about it. Get the hamburger.
- 1:24:24Speaker 6: Yeah, get the hamburger.
- 1:24:25Speaker 2: The hamburger's good.
- 1:24:27Speaker 8: Do not get the applesauce.
- 1:24:29Speaker 2: Yeah, don't get the very.
- 1:24:31Speaker 6: If you're any.
- 1:24:32Speaker 2: If you have a thing with texture, don't get the applesauce.
- 1:24:37Speaker 8: You didn't even get the applesauce. I got the applesauce.
- 1:24:40Speaker 2: I didn't have to. I sat there and watched the
- 1:24:43Speaker 2: look of shame and disappointment on your face as you
- 1:24:46Speaker 2: tried to eat the.
- 1:24:48Speaker 10: Applesauce it had chunks of apple actually.
- 1:24:50Speaker 2: In it the hell yeah i'm telling you this is
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: an applesauce that was like lovingly blended this is applesauce
- 1:24:57Speaker 2: that some guy named carl in the back like pummeled
- 1:25:02Speaker 2: with his fists and then stuck in a bowl and
- 1:25:04Speaker 2: then served it to misty.
- 1:25:07Speaker 8: It's not too pleasant but the hamburger was good and
- 1:25:09Speaker 8: the fries were quite tasty.
- 1:25:11Speaker 2: And their cherry pepsi which is Actually, just grenadine with
- 1:25:15Speaker 2: a cap full of Pepsi in it.
- 1:25:17Speaker 6: Seriously? She was not skipping on that grenadine.
- 1:25:20Speaker 2: No, she wasn't skipping on the fucking grenadine.
- 1:25:21Speaker 8: She could have skipped a little bit on the grenadine.
- 1:25:24Speaker 2: Good God. Like, every once in a while, you know,
- 1:25:25Speaker 2: I like a little bit of grenadine. You know, I mean,
- 1:25:27Speaker 2: cherry Pepsi. Hey, you know, a little bit of grenadine.
- 1:25:30Speaker 2: Sometimes a little bit more grenadine.
- 1:25:31Speaker 6: That's kind of cool.
- 1:25:32Speaker 2: But when it's a whole fucking glass of grenadine and
- 1:25:36Speaker 2: like one little bit of cherry Coke or one little
- 1:25:38Speaker 2: bit of Pepsi in it.
- 1:25:39Speaker 6: Sorry.
- 1:25:40Speaker 8: You still inhaled that shit.
- 1:25:42Speaker 2: Yeah, I can't help it. I inhale sodas. I'm real bad.
- 1:25:45Speaker 2: I'm like a soda addict. I'm like a, I don't know,
- 1:25:50Speaker 2: like a heroin fiend of soda, I guess. Something like that.
- 1:25:54Speaker 8: Whatever.
- 1:25:54Speaker 2: Whatever.
- 1:25:56Speaker 8: What else do we need to talk about? You got
- 1:25:57Speaker 8: some awesome interviews.
- 1:25:58Speaker 6: Yeah, we got to talk to Chiodo Brothers. We got
- 1:26:00Speaker 6: to talk to Jeanette. So it's been a fun day
- 1:26:03Speaker 6: all around.
- 1:26:04Speaker 8: I got to hang out with a mildly intoxicated Linda Hamilton.
- 1:26:08Speaker 8: That was so awesome.
- 1:26:09Speaker 6: I figured that's where you would start, because that was quite...
- 1:26:11Speaker 6: I was working my way towards the end. Okay, let's
- 1:26:13Speaker 6: get to the big finale there.
- 1:26:15Speaker 2: You're bringing out the closer.
- 1:26:18Speaker 8: She was very gropey, which I'm not going to complain.
- 1:26:22Speaker 8: She was so intensely sweet.
- 1:26:24Speaker 6: She was very nice. I was impressed.
- 1:26:26Speaker 8: She was just so sweet.
- 1:26:29Speaker 7: She was kind of one of the big names there,
- 1:26:31Speaker 7: and you don't... always know what you're getting yourself into
- 1:26:33Speaker 7: with those people. Sometimes they can be great and sometimes
- 1:26:36Speaker 7: you're like, oh, okay.
- 1:26:38Speaker 2: Sometimes they can be like the, what's his name from
- 1:26:42Speaker 2: the Monster Squad?
- 1:26:44Speaker 11: Noonan?
- 1:26:45Speaker 7: Noonan, yeah. I, I, that's all secondhand. I don't really,
- 1:26:49Speaker 7: I haven't dealt with it personally.
- 1:26:51Speaker 6: I haven't either.
- 1:26:51Speaker 2: But then the guy that seemed really enthusiastic at the
- 1:26:54Speaker 2: restaurant was, you know, like, dude, you're the greatest. And
- 1:26:57Speaker 2: he just kind of looked at the guy.
- 1:26:58Speaker 6: I was like, yeah, whatever. Get out of my way.
- 1:27:00Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:27:00Speaker 1: Thanks.
- 1:27:01Speaker 6: He did come into the restaurant as we were leaving.
- 1:27:03Speaker 6: I wonder if he got the hamburger.
- 1:27:04Speaker 9: I don't know.
- 1:27:05Speaker 14: I don't know.
- 1:27:06Speaker 6: He is a tall dude.
- 1:27:07Speaker 2: I'm pretty sure he wasn't able to finish it all either.
- 1:27:10Speaker 8: But anyways, back to Linda Hamilton. Because we had got,
- 1:27:13Speaker 8: I had been looking for her all day. They had
- 1:27:16Speaker 8: her back in the special Terminator room or whatever. Dude, seriously,
- 1:27:20Speaker 8: that's where they had like, oh, we should talk about
- 1:27:22Speaker 8: greasy-ass Edward Furlong. He like sleazed his way down the
- 1:27:25Speaker 8: hallway several times. I don't think he has changed his
- 1:27:28Speaker 8: clothes or bathed since the last time we saw him
- 1:27:31Speaker 8: like a year and a half ago. It was just,
- 1:27:34Speaker 8: he just looks so depressed. And he has very incredibly
- 1:27:37Speaker 8: bad posture.
- 1:27:38Speaker 2: Yeah, he left kind of a film on the floor
- 1:27:41Speaker 2: as he slid down the hallway, kind of like a slug.
- 1:27:43Speaker 6: Snail trail? Yeah.
- 1:27:45Speaker 2: I kind of envision if I had poured salt on him,
- 1:27:47Speaker 2: he would shrivel up and scream, you know, but I
- 1:27:50Speaker 2: don't know. Yeah, he's looking pretty bad. I can kind
- 1:27:52Speaker 2: of understand why nobody's going, hey, you know what? You
- 1:27:54Speaker 2: know who we should put in the movie?
- 1:27:56Speaker 6: Edward Furlong.
- 1:27:57Speaker 2: Edward Furlong would be good for this movie.
- 1:27:59Speaker 7: Especially after his little TMZ appearance lately. I'm sure that didn't...
- 1:28:03Speaker 7: Make his stock skyrocket.
- 1:28:05Speaker 6: Yeah, I don't know.
- 1:28:07Speaker 2: Part of me feels bad, but then, you know, I
- 1:28:09Speaker 2: don't know. And then part of me doesn't because it's like, hey,
- 1:28:12Speaker 2: you're responsible for your own shit. So if you can't
- 1:28:15Speaker 2: keep your shit together, then, yeah, it's your own damn fault.
- 1:28:18Speaker 6: Sometimes that's the case.
- 1:28:19Speaker 2: Sometimes.
- 1:28:21Speaker 8: I kept trying to make my way back to the
- 1:28:24Speaker 8: Terminator room, and we finally make it back there. They're
- 1:28:26Speaker 8: doing the Terminator Q & A. So she ain't in there.
- 1:28:30Speaker 8: So it's like, finally walk around, then we go to E,
- 1:28:32Speaker 8: by the time we get back, they've already closed all
- 1:28:34Speaker 8: their rooms. So I'm like, son of a bitch, there's
- 1:28:35Speaker 8: no fucking Linda Hamilton. You know, what the fuck, no
- 1:28:39Speaker 8: Linda Hamilton. So we go back to where Randy and
- 1:28:42Speaker 8: Lisa's room is, and we was all hanging out. And
- 1:28:44Speaker 8: apparently Randy gets this top secret message. He's like, do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do-do,
- 1:28:49Speaker 8: and shit.
- 1:28:49Speaker 2: This is the Randy network.
- 1:28:51Speaker 8: He's people who knows people.
- 1:28:53Speaker 6: That's true.
- 1:28:55Speaker 8: So anyways, he gets this secret message that Linda Hamilton's
- 1:28:57Speaker 8: hanging out down by the fountain. I'm like, holy shit.
- 1:29:02Speaker 8: Let's go. So we get down there, and I'm looking around,
- 1:29:04Speaker 8: and I'm like, I don't fucking see Linda Hamilton. I'm
- 1:29:06Speaker 8: just standing there, like, and Brandy's, like, standing in front
- 1:29:08Speaker 8: of me. He's like, you know, she's, like, right behind you.
- 1:29:10Speaker 8: I look around, like, not even, like, what, seven feet away?
- 1:29:13Speaker 6: Yeah, I'd say more like four.
- 1:29:15Speaker 8: I don't know, I'd say it was seven. Four feet
- 1:29:18Speaker 8: is awful close. Yeah.
- 1:29:20Speaker 7: Seven.
- 1:29:20Speaker 6: Four from the edge. You didn't recognize her because of
- 1:29:23Speaker 6: her cool hat.
- 1:29:24Speaker 8: She was wearing a leopard print kitty hat that had
- 1:29:26Speaker 8: little ears, and it was ridiculously cute, and I was, like,
- 1:29:28Speaker 8: so jealous. I totally wanted that hat. But anyways, I
- 1:29:32Speaker 8: was like, we tried to figure out, like, all right,
- 1:29:34Speaker 8: is she cool? Should we go ask her? Should we
- 1:29:37Speaker 8: go talk to her? Did we just, like, sit over
- 1:29:40Speaker 8: here and stare at her like the creepers that we are?
- 1:29:42Speaker 6: That's usually our M.O.
- 1:29:43Speaker 8: Dude, totally.
- 1:29:45Speaker 2: Seen her take a couple people walk up and take
- 1:29:48Speaker 2: pictures with her and she seemed very very friendly and
- 1:29:50Speaker 2: so that's kind of a good sign you know you
- 1:29:52Speaker 2: don't want to barge in and just be like hey
- 1:29:55Speaker 2: I really liked you in that one movie and then
- 1:29:57Speaker 2: you know they're just totally like oh god okay yeah
- 1:30:01Speaker 2: either they tell their bodyguard get this guy away from
- 1:30:03Speaker 2: me or they take the picture and you know so
- 1:30:07Speaker 2: she seemed really cool and really friendly really friendly very
- 1:30:12Speaker 2: friendly yeah in fact which is you know whatever If
- 1:30:15Speaker 2: you're going to get groped, get groped by Linda Hamilton,
- 1:30:18Speaker 2: you know?
- 1:30:18Speaker 7: Hey.
- 1:30:19Speaker 8: I have no complaints.
- 1:30:20Speaker 6: She was in a very good mood.
- 1:30:21Speaker 2: She was in a very good mood.
- 1:30:22Speaker 6: May have had to do with some of those beverages, but. Maybe.
- 1:30:25Speaker 8: It might have been the liquored up gummy bears that
- 1:30:29Speaker 8: were getting pawned off on her, too.
- 1:30:30Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 1:30:31Speaker 7: Yeah.
- 1:30:32Speaker 2: Fozzie had a whole segment of pictures along with commentary
- 1:30:36Speaker 2: to go with them, and they were pretty good. They
- 1:30:38Speaker 2: were very entertaining.
- 1:30:39Speaker 7: Yeah, I liked his slideshow presentation. It had dialogue, and yeah,
- 1:30:43Speaker 7: it was fun.
- 1:30:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:30:44Speaker 2: But she was excellent. I mean, she's great. I'd forgotten that. Yeah,
- 1:30:50Speaker 2: she was in Beauty and the Beast. God, my mom
- 1:30:52Speaker 2: and I, you know, we watched Beauty and the Beast
- 1:30:54Speaker 2: like all the time. That was one of my mom's
- 1:30:56Speaker 2: favorite damn shows. But the main thing was that my
- 1:31:00Speaker 2: aunt is a huge Linda Hamilton fan. And I took
- 1:31:04Speaker 2: a picture and just kind of sent it to her
- 1:31:05Speaker 2: and was like, hey, Linda Hamilton, we're standing like right
- 1:31:07Speaker 2: next to her. And my aunt was like flipping out going, oh,
- 1:31:11Speaker 2: my God, she's the whole reason I have a pull-up
- 1:31:12Speaker 2: bar in my house.
- 1:31:14Speaker 4: You know.
- 1:31:14Speaker 2: And so.
- 1:31:16Speaker 6: Terminator 2, man.
- 1:31:17Speaker 2: Terminator 2. I mean, yeah, she was in awesome shape
- 1:31:20Speaker 2: in Terminator 2. And that's kind of what inspired my
- 1:31:23Speaker 2: aunt to get into just like awesome shape. And she
- 1:31:26Speaker 2: was for a long time. I mean, she was doing
- 1:31:28Speaker 2: the whole one-handed push-up deal and all kinds of cool shit. But,
- 1:31:33Speaker 2: you know, so we kind of scooted our way over
- 1:31:36Speaker 2: there and kind of got a picture.
- 1:31:39Speaker 8: I joke about her being slightly intoxicated, but she was.
- 1:31:43Speaker 8: She was ridiculously sweet, and she was so incredibly friendly,
- 1:31:47Speaker 8: and she just seemed like she was having a good time.
- 1:31:49Speaker 8: And the fact that she was out there was impressive
- 1:31:51Speaker 8: because you didn't see any of the other stars, especially
- 1:31:53Speaker 8: the big-name stars. They weren't fucking hanging out with the people.
- 1:31:57Speaker 8: They weren't just chilling, getting free pictures of people. They
- 1:32:01Speaker 8: weren't hanging. They were just in their rooms or probably
- 1:32:05Speaker 8: somewhere being too cool for everybody else. But she was
- 1:32:07Speaker 8: actually out there. She was just a person, you know,
- 1:32:10Speaker 8: sitting there, and she was really cool, and it was
- 1:32:12Speaker 8: really impressive, you know.
- 1:32:14Speaker 6: It was pretty cool.
- 1:32:15Speaker 8: Like I said, we usually don't hang out that late
- 1:32:18Speaker 8: after any of the conventions, so we usually don't know
- 1:32:20Speaker 8: what's going on. I totally missed out on the Corey
- 1:32:22Speaker 8: rapping session a couple years ago, and I'm never going
- 1:32:25Speaker 8: to forgive myself for that.
- 1:32:26Speaker 2: Maybe we'll hang out a little bit more, you know,
- 1:32:31Speaker 2: from now on. We generally kind of wrap things up
- 1:32:33Speaker 2: and hit the road early, but I think, you know,
- 1:32:35Speaker 2: maybe now, maybe we'll stay a little bit later.
- 1:32:38Speaker 8: Depends on if you have awesome people to hang out with.
- 1:32:40Speaker 2: Yeah, that depends.
- 1:32:42Speaker 8: Yeah, it's been a great, fantastic day. And I finagled
- 1:32:46Speaker 8: a picture with Linda Hamilton, too. I kind of coasted
- 1:32:49Speaker 8: in on Boyfriend's Coattails. And I liked her hat, and
- 1:32:52Speaker 8: I told her. And then she told me that it
- 1:32:53Speaker 8: was her friend's hat, and she had took it. So
- 1:32:55Speaker 8: I was pretty excited about that. I'm like, dude, I
- 1:32:57Speaker 8: don't blame you. I would totally take that hat, too.
- 1:32:59Speaker 8: But I'm pretty sure she would take me. She's probably
- 1:33:02Speaker 8: still pretty buff.
- 1:33:03Speaker 7: Probably.
- 1:33:04Speaker 2: I don't know. She told me she still had it.
- 1:33:05Speaker 2: She said, you know what? I need to start doing
- 1:33:07Speaker 2: pull-ups again.
- 1:33:09Speaker 6: But, who knows.
- 1:33:11Speaker 8: But yeah, yay for Linda Hamilton being awesome and sweet
- 1:33:15Speaker 8: and gropey. I'm okay with being groped by Linda Hamilton.
- 1:33:19Speaker 8: It could be a lot worse.
- 1:33:22Speaker 3: Right?
- 1:33:22Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 1:33:24Speaker 2: Can't think of anything else, really. Aside from the various
- 1:33:30Speaker 2: chicks in slutty costumes, you know.
- 1:33:32Speaker 8: There were slutty girls in slutty costumes.
- 1:33:35Speaker 6: Whoring it up.
- 1:33:37Speaker 2: I was, but you yanked the microphone away from me.
- 1:33:40Speaker 2: I mean, I'm going to start buying either stock in
- 1:33:44Speaker 2: duct tape or push-up bras or whatever it is that
- 1:33:48Speaker 2: they use to gussy them boobies up. Because, I mean,
- 1:33:50Speaker 2: a lot of them were spilling over their tops. Yeah,
- 1:33:53Speaker 2: but in a bad way. In a bad way.
- 1:33:55Speaker 6: It's like there's a way to do that where it
- 1:33:57Speaker 6: is kind of. I don't know. It's always kind of tacky.
- 1:33:59Speaker 6: But at least there's ways that you can look good.
- 1:34:02Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:34:02Speaker 6: You can present things nicely.
- 1:34:04Speaker 12: Well.
- 1:34:04Speaker 7: There's times, I was just like, that's not how those
- 1:34:07Speaker 7: are supposed to go.
- 1:34:08Speaker 15: Yeah.
- 1:34:08Speaker 6: Like, you're doing something wrong.
- 1:34:10Speaker 8: Yeah.
- 1:34:11Speaker 2: Yeah, there were times where you're like, I'm pretty sure
- 1:34:13Speaker 2: there's something that involves, like, rivets and steel.
- 1:34:16Speaker 6: Something.
- 1:34:17Speaker 8: The one girl who was splitting from both ends, she had, like,
- 1:34:20Speaker 8: her boobies spilling off the top and her, yeah, see
- 1:34:24Speaker 8: her underpants. Yeah.
- 1:34:28Speaker 2: Yeah, and it's not one of those, like, hey, underpants.
- 1:34:30Speaker 2: You're like, oh, my good God.
- 1:34:32Speaker 8: I can see that lady's underbreeches, and I don't like it.
- 1:34:36Speaker 9: Oh, geez.
- 1:34:37Speaker 8: Yeah, there was a lot of jiggly cleavage today. A
- 1:34:40Speaker 8: lot of bloody jiggly cleavage.
- 1:34:42Speaker 2: A lot of bacne.
- 1:34:43Speaker 8: That was just that one girl, dude. She was... Yeah, dude. Wear, like,
- 1:34:49Speaker 8: a mesh shirt or something, or, like, something fishnet-y, and then, like,
- 1:34:54Speaker 8: put a shirt over that. Or realize that Bacne's not sexy.
- 1:34:59Speaker 8: They had plenty of, like, tables of industrial-grade makeup.
- 1:35:03Speaker 7: You know?
- 1:35:03Speaker 2: Capitalize on it. You know? If you're going to do that,
- 1:35:07Speaker 2: then make it look like it's part of your makeup.
- 1:35:09Speaker 2: You know?
- 1:35:09Speaker 6: A gore effect on your makeup. Yeah!
- 1:35:12Speaker 8: You know?
- 1:35:12Speaker 2: Like it's got spider veins coming out of it or
- 1:35:14Speaker 2: something like that. You know?
- 1:35:15Speaker 6: Something cool. Camouflage.
- 1:35:16Speaker 8: You're the pimple monster.
- 1:35:19Speaker 2: Hot pimple pin-up! Pimple up!
- 1:35:24Speaker 6: Yeah, erase that.
- 1:35:25Speaker 2: Yeah, get rid of that. That was fucking stupid.
- 1:35:28Speaker 8: No, leave that whole part in.
- 1:35:29Speaker 2: No, fuck you. Leave it. Get it out of there.
- 1:35:32Speaker 2: Fucking cut it out. Whatever, dude.
- 1:35:35Speaker 6: Did we round that out?
- 1:35:36Speaker 8: I think we round it out.
- 1:35:38Speaker 2: Alright.
- 1:35:38Speaker 8: You feel rounded?
- 1:35:39Speaker 2: Yeah. Tired?
- 1:35:42Speaker 6: Me too.
- 1:35:42Speaker 2: A little tired, but I'm fine.
- 1:35:44Speaker 8: This is more in a... What was the word I
- 1:35:46Speaker 8: was going to use?
- 1:35:47Speaker 4: What?
- 1:35:47Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:35:49Speaker 8: Unintelligible. That's a good word. This is more unintelligible than normal.
- 1:35:54Speaker 6: That's why I'm just wrapping it up.
- 1:35:55Speaker 2: All right.
- 1:35:56Speaker 8: I'm tired.
- 1:35:56Speaker 6: Good night. All right. Otherwise, that about does it. We
- 1:35:59Speaker 6: will return next week. Same geek time, same geek fee.
- 1:36:02Speaker 6: Thanks for listening.
- 1:36:03Speaker 7: Bye.
- 1:36:03Speaker 2: I wake up exhausted.
- 1:36:06Speaker 9: It's not morning.
- 1:36:08Speaker 12: It's back to sleep. So we dream me. We're lonely
- 1:36:13Speaker 12: and we're happy. But there you are, angry with me.
- 1:36:19Speaker 12: Are you home? You stand up straight Are you alright?
- 1:36:29Speaker 12: Can you get me off your mind? I live in

- 1:36:55Speaker 12: move on.
- 1:36:56Speaker 10: We're strangers, we're not.
- 1:36:59Speaker 12: Friends I hate this and I hate them It seems
- 1:37:03Speaker 12: exhausted and it's wound up To give me a place,
- 1:37:08Speaker 12: it's just build.

- 1:37:11Speaker 12: Bastard that you let me You're.
