- 0:00Speaker 1: Tampa Bay's best music is Magic Jazz ninety four nine.
- 0:04Speaker 2: It's Scotty Abbey unfiltered. There's a lot of stuff to
- 0:06Speaker 2: unpacked because whenever you come after a weekend and it's
- 0:09Speaker 2: just so many things have happened each and every night.
- 0:12Speaker 2: Here's where I want to preface, because I was cracking
- 0:16Speaker 2: up and I woke up Sunday morning. I was refreshed,
- 0:18Speaker 2: the sun was shining through the window, and I go
- 0:20Speaker 2: to look at my phone and I.
- 0:21Speaker 1: Say, I have a text from you, Abby.
- 0:22Speaker 2: Yes, at three in the morning, Abby texts me, She's
- 0:26Speaker 2: like you up, Yo, you up.
- 0:27Speaker 1: I'm like, hell, no, I'm not up.
- 0:29Speaker 2: I was like, what in the world did you get
- 0:32Speaker 2: yourself into? And I'm so excited because I don't know
- 0:35Speaker 2: what we're about to talk about. All I know is
- 0:36Speaker 2: that you had a really good friend in town and
- 0:38Speaker 2: you guys hit the town. What Friday, Saturday, Sun Sunday.
- 0:44Speaker 2: What the heck happened?
- 0:45Speaker 1: Yeah?
- 0:46Speaker 3: I was about say, I'm really glad me and your
- 0:47Speaker 3: lady have a good relationship, because if anybody else texted
- 0:50Speaker 3: you at three am saying what are you doing at
- 0:52Speaker 3: three am? I think if I was your girlfriend, I
- 0:55Speaker 3: would have a connipsho oh.
- 0:56Speaker 1: Absolutely, yeah, So who's texting you at that time? Abby?
- 0:59Speaker 3: I was like, where Scott's out? Like, where do we
- 1:03Speaker 3: go next? To three am? We shut down this bar
- 1:05Speaker 3: and I'll give you just the full story, because yeah,
- 1:08Speaker 3: we had We met lots of characters, We had a
- 1:11Speaker 3: lot of fun dancing. That to me is the fun
- 1:13Speaker 3: way to have a weekend is to meet interesting people
- 1:16Speaker 3: and to listen to good music. And we had all
- 1:18Speaker 3: of that this weekend.
- 1:19Speaker 2: So when they got here on Friday, what was because
- 1:21Speaker 2: this is also cool? Is this their first time? Like
- 1:23Speaker 2: visiting you in Tampa Bay haven't been here before.
- 1:25Speaker 3: Since my friend Taylor. Taylor's been here before. Taylor and
- 1:28Speaker 3: I met in Atlanta. She lives in Nashville now, and
- 1:31Speaker 3: literally Taylor's always down for a good time. She said
- 1:34Speaker 3: that she wanted to come down to Tampa for a weekend,
- 1:36Speaker 3: and I knew that I was going to have a
- 1:38Speaker 3: free weekend this go around. It's also my birthday week
- 1:40Speaker 3: so I'm like, I'm sure I'm gonna want to go
- 1:41Speaker 3: out and do things.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Of course.
- 1:42Speaker 3: So I texted her like a month ago and I
- 1:44Speaker 3: was like, Hey, I think the weekend of the seventeenth,
- 1:45Speaker 3: eighteen nineteen, is going to work. Do you want to come?
- 1:47Speaker 3: And she goes, Okay, I just put my flight. I
- 1:49Speaker 3: was like, okaye, see then high.
- 1:50Speaker 1: I love a friend that does that.
- 1:52Speaker 2: Like I'm the worst when it comes to being a
- 1:54Speaker 2: friend because I have friends that live in Boston, I
- 1:56Speaker 2: have friends that live in Seattle, and I have friends
- 1:57Speaker 2: that live in Colorado. I never is it ever? Yeah,
- 2:01Speaker 2: I'm that bad of a friend. Where I'm like, I'll
- 2:03Speaker 2: get to it. And it's like three years go by
- 2:05Speaker 2: where Taylor sounds incredible. You're like, hey, I have this weekend.
- 2:08Speaker 2: She books it right then and there.
- 2:09Speaker 3: That's what me and Taylor are friends is we both
- 2:11Speaker 3: just like to have a good time. Whether that's laying
- 2:13Speaker 3: on the couch scrolling or going to a new bar
- 2:16Speaker 3: or trying a new restaurant. We just want to have fun.
- 2:18Speaker 3: We just want to giggle, we want to hear ahahu,
- 2:21Speaker 3: and I love that we both can do that. So
- 2:23Speaker 3: she's very easy to travel with. So she comes in
- 2:25Speaker 3: on Friday, and the way I planned out this whole
- 2:26Speaker 3: weekend is that on Friday, I was like, that's our
- 2:29Speaker 3: Tampa Day. Saturday, we'll be our Saint Pete Day, and
- 2:32Speaker 3: then we'll play it by a year on Sunday, which
- 2:33Speaker 3: everyone will we like better. We'll just go out on
- 2:36Speaker 3: so Friday, I take her to Solid Core. Well we're
- 2:39Speaker 3: in Saint Pete for this, but so take her to
- 2:41Speaker 3: Solid Corn Saint Pete. We bop around and then we
- 2:43Speaker 3: got ready and went to dinner at the Pearl. Oh,
- 2:46Speaker 3: finally got to check out the Pearl. We had. I
- 2:48Speaker 3: had a good meal there. My grilled cheese was a
- 2:51Speaker 3: pair and squash and gorgonzola. Situation is very good.
- 2:55Speaker 2: See that's how you know it's a fancy ast girl cheese.
- 2:57Speaker 2: It wasn't just cheese on bread.
- 2:58Speaker 1: No, we had a pair in it.
- 2:59Speaker 3: It was he's on bread with with pairs which.
- 3:02Speaker 2: He makes a drink. Because like, this place is so nice.
- 3:04Speaker 2: It's downtown Tampa. It's right by Benchmark International Arena and
- 3:08Speaker 2: anytime you go, the bar looks beautiful. But they also
- 3:10Speaker 2: have these cool like exclusive booths. Where'd you guys sit.
- 3:13Speaker 3: They're sitting in a booth. You got the booth, you
- 3:15Speaker 3: got a booth. And the bar looks really fun. It's
- 3:17Speaker 3: like one of those U shaped bars. And I was
- 3:21Speaker 3: I will say I was horrified at the prices on
- 3:23Speaker 3: the menu and listen like, I'm not a cheap gal,
- 3:25Speaker 3: Like I knew I was ready to pay a little money,
- 3:27Speaker 3: but I almost looking at the menu, I'm like, oh
- 3:29Speaker 3: my god, sixty dollars for an entry. Oh I know,
- 3:32Speaker 3: I was horrified, and my owh these are Channel Side prices.
- 3:34Speaker 3: But I didn't expect it from The Pearl, because the
- 3:35Speaker 3: Pearl is a new American Southern restaurant. I thought that
- 3:39Speaker 3: was Bulon pricing. So anyway, you know me, I talk
- 3:43Speaker 3: about Boolon all the time.
- 3:44Speaker 1: As if it's something they just got another mention, it's
- 3:46Speaker 1: some midp No.
- 3:47Speaker 3: I know, it's some mythical creature. But I told Taylor,
- 3:49Speaker 3: I am, I go, let's just keep it kind of
- 3:50Speaker 3: low key tonight. Let's not do anything crazy. It was like,
- 3:52Speaker 3: let's just bop around Channel Side and grab bez at
- 3:54Speaker 3: cocktail bars. And so Bulon is kind of the perfect
- 3:57Speaker 3: place to do that, because I know, I keep saying,
- 4:00Speaker 3: they have this really great bar where there's just a
- 4:03Speaker 3: lot of interesting characters. It's sugar daddy vibes. It's the
- 4:07Speaker 3: richest people in Tampa because it's very facey, sugar babies
- 4:11Speaker 3: it's just it's just interesting. So we luckily get a
- 4:15Speaker 3: seat at the bar where people watch you. It's a
- 4:17Speaker 3: good time. And I told her was like, listen, we
- 4:19Speaker 3: both love country music. I've heard raving reviews about this
- 4:23Speaker 3: bar called Sunset Rodeo. Apparently it's more people our age,
- 4:26Speaker 3: it's country music. Why don't we end the night there,
- 4:28Speaker 3: go home by midnight? Call today? So we uber on
- 4:31Speaker 3: over to Sunset Rodeo. And I think it was Tampa
- 4:35Speaker 3: Terrence that said that it was almost too old sometimes.
- 4:38Speaker 2: Because you have to be it's one of those bars
- 4:40Speaker 2: where it's like you have to be at least twenty three. Yes,
- 4:42Speaker 2: like they don't take anybody that's like in college still,
- 4:44Speaker 2: like you got.
- 4:45Speaker 1: To be a little grown.
- 4:46Speaker 3: Yeah. I don't know. I think that the fakes are
- 4:48Speaker 3: getting better because we walk in and me and Taylor,
- 4:50Speaker 3: and we're doing this new thing where we're trying not
- 4:52Speaker 3: to call each other old because we're I'm turning twenty
- 4:54Speaker 3: nine this week, she's thirty, and we're trying not to
- 4:56Speaker 3: do this thing that girls always do when we hit thirty,
- 4:58Speaker 3: we go, oh my god, we're so old old or
- 5:00Speaker 3: so old. She was raving about this this podcast from
- 5:05Speaker 3: Tinks recently, where I guess she was trying to rephrase
- 5:08Speaker 3: what it's like to be this age where it's like
- 5:10Speaker 3: we're so young, Like, you just have to rephrase how
- 5:12Speaker 3: you feel about your age.
- 5:14Speaker 1: I absolutely very young.
- 5:15Speaker 3: Thirties, relatively young. I'm like, you know what, in ten years,
- 5:18Speaker 3: we are going to look back and go, we were
- 5:20Speaker 3: so young.
- 5:20Speaker 1: How dare we call ourselves old?
- 5:22Speaker 3: Yeah, so just because we're getting older doesn't mean we
- 5:26Speaker 3: don't need to exacerate that feeling of we're so old.
- 5:28Speaker 1: I love that.
- 5:29Speaker 3: Yes, I think it's better to rephrase your opinion on
- 5:33Speaker 3: your age and look back and go, oh my god,
- 5:35Speaker 3: we're so young.
- 5:35Speaker 2: Yeah, Like I don't want to be college age anymore.
- 5:37Speaker 2: Like those years were fun, but I feel much better
- 5:40Speaker 2: now because obviously you're better in a career, you're more mature.
- 5:44Speaker 2: I was just talking about this with Melady about it's
- 5:48Speaker 2: exciting stepping into this new like dating relationship, because I
- 5:54Speaker 2: looked at her, I was like, we're just so much
- 5:55Speaker 2: more mature because of our past experiences. When there's something
- 5:59Speaker 2: that's to come up, because we know there's something, we're
- 6:02Speaker 2: gonna be able to handle it so much better now
- 6:05Speaker 2: that we're older and we've gone through a couple of
- 6:06Speaker 2: the ringers that suck.
- 6:08Speaker 3: And you're a little bit more established. You're not in
- 6:10Speaker 3: that phase where you're building your life and your life
- 6:12Speaker 3: feels chaotic. You two are just in a good place
- 6:14Speaker 3: to date exactly.
- 6:15Speaker 1: So it's like, we're not at this age.
- 6:17Speaker 2: And I don't know what age you are listening, but
- 6:19Speaker 2: I never love when people just continuously put themselves down.
- 6:23Speaker 2: Yeah I'm so old, I can't do this, So I'm
- 6:25Speaker 2: not old enough, Like no, no, no, no. The age
- 6:27Speaker 2: that you're in, like what a beautiful Every single age
- 6:29Speaker 2: has that beautiful chapter part of it, and so this
- 6:32Speaker 2: is like a new one for us. Yeah, late twenties,
- 6:34Speaker 2: early thirties, like how exciting everyone always said. Our boss
- 6:37Speaker 2: literally just said, like the thirties is about to be
- 6:40Speaker 2: one of your favorites.
- 6:40Speaker 3: Exactly, And everyone says that that's what the people are saying.
- 6:43Speaker 3: So I walk in, and you know, we were definitely
- 6:46Speaker 3: feeling a lot older than the nineteen year olds that
- 6:47Speaker 3: we're in. Sunset Rodeo, which is supposed to be like
- 6:49Speaker 3: the national bar. Everyone's wearing cowboy hats. By the way
- 6:51Speaker 3: I walked in, I was like it's like, is this
- 6:53Speaker 3: just like Cowboy Cosplay Hour? But it's just looks like
- 6:56Speaker 3: your typical dive bar. There's neon light, and there's a
- 7:00Speaker 3: bunch of different rooms and pool tables and outside patio.
- 7:03Speaker 3: But we go straight to the back because we want
- 7:04Speaker 3: to hear music and we want to dance, and so
- 7:06Speaker 3: we walk in and they're playing some remixes of some
- 7:08Speaker 3: country music and we're like, oh, perfect, this is exactly
- 7:09Speaker 3: where we want to be. We want to dance to
- 7:11Speaker 3: La Langley Choose in Texas. And then this band gets
- 7:15Speaker 3: on the stage and they proceeded to play every song
- 7:19Speaker 3: no nineteen year old in that bar was gonna know.
- 7:21Speaker 3: They played like Nickelback and Blink one eighty two and
- 7:25Speaker 3: all these like random alternative songs that me and her know.
- 7:28Speaker 3: But we also didn't go to Sunset Rodeo to listen
- 7:31Speaker 3: to alternative, Like this is the one country bar in Tampa.
- 7:35Speaker 3: We want to listen to some country music. So we
- 7:38Speaker 3: just had such a flop night. So going into Saturday,
- 7:41Speaker 3: we were like, we are fien in for a good time.
- 7:45Speaker 3: So we have ourselves a day in Saint Pete. We
- 7:47Speaker 3: go to dinner Juno and the Peacock another great Spot,
- 7:49Speaker 3: Greatest Special Routini, and I take her to Welcome to
- 7:52Speaker 3: the Farm. There's a theme here. We both have country
- 7:54Speaker 3: music where like we want to listen to.
- 7:56Speaker 2: And it makes me wonder, like what are her thoughts,
- 7:58Speaker 2: because when you're again, I've never been there Nahville, but
- 8:00Speaker 2: I do know it's like honky talk after honky tong,
- 8:03Speaker 2: after dive bar after country music, and every place has
- 8:06Speaker 2: live music, is what I hear.
- 8:07Speaker 3: But she loves that. We love that like I could
- 8:08Speaker 3: spend honestly every weekend and Broadway in Nashville. Okay, maybe
- 8:11Speaker 3: not every weekend, but like a couple of weekends in Nashville,
- 8:14Speaker 3: like back to back. I love those bars. Those are
- 8:18Speaker 3: so fun. And she feels the same way, like even
- 8:20Speaker 3: though she's now a Nashville local, she's like, I still
- 8:22Speaker 3: love Broadway, like it's still fun. Just because it's cliche
- 8:25Speaker 3: doesn't mean it's not great.
- 8:26Speaker 1: Exactly, It's there for a reason.
- 8:27Speaker 3: So we go to Welcome to the Farm and we
- 8:29Speaker 3: have another similar situation where this guy that's up on
- 8:32Speaker 3: stage with his guitar is just playing like the most
- 8:34Speaker 3: niche country music you've ever heard, and we're like it's
- 8:37Speaker 3: nine pm on freaking Saturday. Get up, We're going to hide.
- 8:43Speaker 3: So I look at her and I said, this is
- 8:47Speaker 3: my last chance to try and help us have a
- 8:49Speaker 3: good night. I was like, I've heard rave reviews about
- 8:51Speaker 3: this other bar down the street. It's called the good
- 8:53Speaker 3: Night John Boy. I'm pretty sure we can dance there,
- 8:56Speaker 3: because all we want to do is dance. We have
- 8:59Speaker 3: are we got our full eight hours of rest. We
- 9:01Speaker 3: were in early last night from Friday. Get the fuck up,
- 9:07Speaker 3: we're going to hide. Good night john Boy. We walk
- 9:10Speaker 3: in and the second we walk in, I hear like,
- 9:12Speaker 3: do you remember I start just involuntarily pop and I'm like,
- 9:16Speaker 3: oh my god, what is happening? Taking over my body?
- 9:19Speaker 3: So I walk in and I look at Taylor and
- 9:21Speaker 3: I do that thing where I do I do clock
- 9:23Speaker 3: it and I go, Taylor, let's get a drink, Taylor.
- 9:28Speaker 3: So we get our drinks and we head straight to
- 9:30Speaker 3: the dance floor and it's seventies disco. That's the theme
- 9:33Speaker 3: of the bar. It feels very old school. There's TVs
- 9:36Speaker 3: playing old seventies music videos and everyone's dancing, everyone's and
- 9:40Speaker 3: it's people our age, it's older people. Yes, it's just
- 9:43Speaker 3: so so fun. So we get on the dance floor.
- 9:45Speaker 3: We're having a great time. And then this is where
- 9:49Speaker 3: our boys saga started. So I will say Taylor and
- 9:52Speaker 3: I both single, good music, good people. That is the
- 9:55Speaker 3: recipe for a good night. So we both look super cute.
- 9:57Speaker 3: We're feeling ourselves, we're dancing. We're just I mean literally
- 10:00Speaker 3: the most uninhibited, unhinged dance moves out on the floor.
- 10:04Speaker 3: I'm feeling the rain on my skin. No one else
- 10:07Speaker 3: can feel it for me, no one else can let
- 10:09Speaker 3: it in like they're playing dancing queen. And the DJ
- 10:12Speaker 3: was so nice. He was taking requests. We were like
- 10:14Speaker 3: play Abba and he played abb before us. It was just, oh,
- 10:17Speaker 3: it was so much fun. I can't say it enough.
- 10:18Speaker 3: Good things about the music and the vibes.
- 10:20Speaker 1: What are your go to like when you're out there.
- 10:21Speaker 2: I'm trying to envision it, like do you have because
- 10:24Speaker 2: I have the most goofy dance moves when I hit
- 10:26Speaker 2: a dance floor.
- 10:26Speaker 3: Oh, it's just I'm just feeling the music like whatever
- 10:29Speaker 3: the seventies gods are not put it flowing in my
- 10:33Speaker 3: repertoire like I'm just I'm just flowing and put my
- 10:36Speaker 3: hands up, I'm dancing like I a night, A good night,
- 10:39Speaker 3: John boy. I think healed me, honestly, just because I
- 10:41Speaker 3: love to dance. It's the one time when I'm not
- 10:43Speaker 3: in my head and I'm not anxious or thinking about things.
- 10:46Speaker 3: I can just let loose and vibe and have a
- 10:48Speaker 3: little drink and be with my friends. It's my favorite
- 10:50Speaker 3: thing to do. It's very healing.
- 10:52Speaker 1: I like that because also that place and I noticed this.
- 10:54Speaker 2: With bars, especially when you're younger, like nobody dances like
- 10:57Speaker 2: That's why I love what I get to do, because
- 10:59Speaker 2: I'm like, I will kick off that dance floor, no problem,
- 11:01Speaker 2: you'll judge dance, but I good night John boys. Since
- 11:03Speaker 2: everyone's like slightly older, everyone's like I don't give a fuck,
- 11:06Speaker 2: like I'm on dance, and so the whole place is
- 11:08Speaker 2: backed like you're bumping into each other. But then you
- 11:10Speaker 2: bump into each other and it's not like you're twenty
- 11:12Speaker 2: and you're trying to fight. It's like no, no, like awesome,
- 11:15Speaker 2: and you sing together with a random stranger.
- 11:16Speaker 3: It's just the best good social vibes. So me and
- 11:19Speaker 3: Taylor like once year we'll have one night that heals
- 11:22Speaker 3: us both where just everything kind of goes right in
- 11:25Speaker 3: the sense that you're just constantly bumping into people or
- 11:27Speaker 3: hearing the best music, and you just go the rest
- 11:29Speaker 3: of the year chasing that high. And so this was
- 11:31Speaker 3: that night for us. So we're hanging out, we're dancing, dancing.
- 11:33Speaker 3: Queen's on earth Wind and Fire is on, all the
- 11:35Speaker 3: good groovy beats, and then all of a sudden, this
- 11:38Speaker 3: guy rolls up and dands next to us and kind
- 11:40Speaker 3: of breaks open our dance circle and starts dancing with us.
- 11:42Speaker 3: I mean and Taylor look at each other and we're like,
- 11:44Speaker 3: it's game time. Here we go. We're reving ourranges. We're
- 11:48Speaker 3: like racers, sorry your engines, and so we're like, yes,
- 11:53Speaker 3: finally something to shake up the night. He's a cute boy.
- 11:56Speaker 3: He's tall, he's well dressed. The best way for me
- 11:59Speaker 3: to describe what this guy looks like. He looks like
- 12:01Speaker 3: a young Hugh Grant, which is very ironic because not
- 12:04Speaker 3: only does he look like a young Hugh Grant from
- 12:06Speaker 3: Nodding Hill in his nineties early two thousands, Prince William
- 12:10Speaker 3: button down and jeans, the guy is British.
- 12:13Speaker 1: Oh good lord, he's.
- 12:15Speaker 3: Wearing glasses, he's got a baseball hat on, like it's
- 12:18Speaker 3: full on nineties fine vibes. Okay, So he's dancing with
- 12:21Speaker 3: us and we're having a good time, and then he
- 12:23Speaker 3: looks over and he has a friend, and we're like
- 12:25Speaker 3: perfect one for the both of us. And not only
- 12:28Speaker 3: does he have a friend, the friend is also super
- 12:30Speaker 3: cute and tall. Literally, I was like, there is a god.
- 12:36Speaker 3: So Taylor and I are dancing and the guy, young
- 12:40Speaker 3: Hugh Grant is looking over at his tall friend, also
- 12:43Speaker 3: with another baseball cap and a button down on. He's
- 12:46Speaker 3: just standing there like a goober. And we're like waving
- 12:49Speaker 3: him over, like come dance with us, calm, dance with us.
- 12:51Speaker 3: So we're giving him all the vibes. We're like come on,
- 12:53Speaker 3: we like we want you. There's guys, there's your ghost.
- 12:56Speaker 3: So he comes over and then this is where his
- 12:57Speaker 3: shit got weird. So there no, no, no, we're not We're
- 13:01Speaker 3: not in the very beginning of the story. So just
- 13:02Speaker 3: buck Buckle and Scott. This is this is a saga.
- 13:05Speaker 1: Click.
- 13:05Speaker 3: So Taylor and I are dancing with young Hugh Grant
- 13:08Speaker 3: and his tall friend, his tall goober friend. I wouldn't
- 13:12Speaker 3: call him goofy. Oh yeah, he was acting roll goober ish.
- 13:15Speaker 3: So we're dancing and we're trying to break bring them
- 13:17Speaker 3: into our dance circle. We're making eye contact, we're trying
- 13:19Speaker 3: to dance with them, and they're just looking at each
- 13:21Speaker 3: other and dancing, and so for like a song or two,
- 13:24Speaker 3: Taylor and I are like, ugly, is are we the problem?
- 13:29Speaker 3: Are we? So we're trying to we're trying to get
- 13:31Speaker 3: their attention, We're trying to dance with them, and at
- 13:32Speaker 3: some point I just look at Taylor. I'm like, where
- 13:34Speaker 3: does this is fucking weird? Like I turn around, I'm like,
- 13:36Speaker 3: let's okay, let's just dance with each other. So me
- 13:38Speaker 3: and her dance with each other and they eventually go away,
- 13:39Speaker 3: and I look at her and I was like that
- 13:41Speaker 3: was so bizarre, Like we were giving them. It's like
- 13:43Speaker 3: almost guys want to be victims.
- 13:44Speaker 1: With literally, It's like, how much more obvious could you be?
- 13:47Speaker 3: We're so obvious. We're literally waving goober guy over there,
- 13:50Speaker 3: being like, come dance with us, come dance with us.
- 13:52Speaker 3: We're looking him up now, being like dance with us,
- 13:54Speaker 3: and they just won't dance with us. So Taylor and
- 13:56Speaker 3: I go back to dancing, we're still having the best time,
- 13:59Speaker 3: and then they come back again, and I'm so upset
- 14:03Speaker 3: because they were so cute, both of our types, and
- 14:05Speaker 3: I was like, they literally just fumbled the bag for
- 14:08Speaker 3: no reason. But I had told Taylor. I'm like, maybe
- 14:10Speaker 3: we read it wrong. Maybe they're like that's his boyfriend.
- 14:13Speaker 1: I don't know, because you're.
- 14:14Speaker 3: In Saint Pete. Saint Pete's very LGBTQ friendly. So we're
- 14:17Speaker 3: hanging out and they come back over and I go
- 14:20Speaker 3: to tall goober guy and I said, so, are you
- 14:25Speaker 3: two like gay for each other?
- 14:27Speaker 1: Like said that yes.
- 14:28Speaker 3: I mean this is also after like eight box shotas
- 14:30Speaker 3: you know what I mean. So I look at it
- 14:31Speaker 3: and I'm like, what's your what's your problem? Like why
- 14:33Speaker 3: don't you want to dance with us? And then he
- 14:35Speaker 3: turns to his friend, young Hugh Grant and he goes,
- 14:38Speaker 3: they think we're gay for each other. I'm like, well,
- 14:40Speaker 3: you guys just like won't dance and hang out with us.
- 14:42Speaker 3: So then they eventually get the message that we want
- 14:44Speaker 3: to hang out with them, and they start dancing with us,
- 14:47Speaker 3: and I'm like, finally they introduced themselves to us. I
- 14:50Speaker 3: think the British guy is visiting from somewhere. But I'm like,
- 14:54Speaker 3: oh my god, classic and other. I don't know what
- 14:55Speaker 3: it is about the Britishmen, but they always find me
- 14:58Speaker 3: no matter where I'm at. They they just flock to
- 15:01Speaker 3: me like a duck to water.
- 15:02Speaker 2: I was gonna say, the times that we've gone out,
- 15:04Speaker 2: it's always been somebody that has a British accent.
- 15:06Speaker 3: There's always a British Man that finds me. And I'm
- 15:08Speaker 3: sitting there, I'm like, oh god. So I find it
- 15:10Speaker 3: very triggering because I had a very heinous experience with
- 15:12Speaker 3: a British Man and they just find me wherever I'm at.
- 15:15Speaker 3: They find me in Nashville, they find me in Saint Pete,
- 15:17Speaker 3: just like the most random.
- 15:17Speaker 1: Place is it's destined to be with a brit.
- 15:19Speaker 3: But the British guy is like all into me, and
- 15:22Speaker 3: so he introduces himself. He's like, I'm visiting my friend
- 15:24Speaker 3: who I work with. I think his name is James.
- 15:26Speaker 3: I'm James. I think the other guy's name was Morgan.
- 15:30Speaker 3: Morgan's Morgan's American. Morgan lives in Saint Pete. So Morgan
- 15:33Speaker 3: is tall, goober guy, young Hugh Grant is James. I'm
- 15:37Speaker 3: pretty sure, I don't remember his worry. And so we're
- 15:39Speaker 3: hanging out with them and then we're dancing. We're having
- 15:42Speaker 3: a good time, and then they leave again and I
- 15:44Speaker 3: look at Taylor and I'm like, what are we doing wrong?
- 15:47Speaker 3: And so they finally come back, and then this is where,
- 15:51Speaker 3: this is where things got a little bit more romantic.
- 15:53Speaker 3: They come back over and I look at tall goober
- 15:55Speaker 3: guy and I go, you guys done jacking each other off?
- 15:58Speaker 3: Like what's going on?
- 15:59Speaker 2: Leave it to Abby to be just right forward and
- 16:03Speaker 2: say it how it is.
- 16:04Speaker 3: Well, this is when it got fun. Tall goober guy
- 16:06Speaker 3: slung it right back. He goes, oh, yeah, we'll be
- 16:08Speaker 3: done if you can be next. And then I look
- 16:10Speaker 3: at him and I go, that's totally fine, as long
- 16:12Speaker 3: as you're okay with my dick being bigger than yours.
- 16:15Speaker 1: Oh my god.
- 16:16Speaker 3: And then I could tell. Tall goober guy goes, okay,
- 16:19Speaker 3: here we go. So all of a sudden, I'm like, okay,
- 16:22Speaker 3: I'm done with young Hugh Grant. I think I love
- 16:24Speaker 3: this man. I think I love tall guber boy. So
- 16:26Speaker 3: we're kind of dancing, and I can tell that we're
- 16:28Speaker 3: all sort of in like this weird ancestual flirting circle
- 16:31Speaker 3: where we're all kind of into each other. But I'm
- 16:33Speaker 3: really into tall goober guy. Oh. But I'm trying to
- 16:37Speaker 3: play it, play it right because I also have my
- 16:39Speaker 3: friend Taylor here, and I'm like, I want her to
- 16:41Speaker 3: still feel like she's getting her flirt on. So I'm like,
- 16:43Speaker 3: I can't tell if she's hitting off with Young Hugh Grant,
- 16:45Speaker 3: is tall goober guy hitting on her. I'm trying to
- 16:47Speaker 3: figure out what the vibes are, so I'm trying not
- 16:48Speaker 3: to like cling on to one of them at all.
- 16:50Speaker 3: But I'm standing next to tall goober guy and I
- 16:53Speaker 3: look at him. I was like, why are you wearing
- 16:54Speaker 3: that hat? Because they're both wearing these ball caps and
- 16:56Speaker 3: this disco and so I pull his hat off and
- 16:59Speaker 3: he has the most glorious head of hair.
- 17:02Speaker 1: I did not know that. I was like, what the
- 17:03Speaker 1: heck is under the cap.
- 17:04Speaker 3: It's tall, it's curly, he's brunette. Young hu Grant takes
- 17:07Speaker 3: his hat off. He has nineties boy band hair, and
- 17:10Speaker 3: we're both looking at them, like, what do you You
- 17:11Speaker 3: guys are fumbling? You guys come over here. You don't
- 17:15Speaker 3: look at us in the eye, you don't want to
- 17:16Speaker 3: dance with us, and you're also hiding your beautiful head
- 17:19Speaker 3: of hair. And so then tall goober guy puts his
- 17:21Speaker 3: hat on me, and I was like, oh, so, like
- 17:23Speaker 3: maybe tall goober guy likes me, because I know guys
- 17:26Speaker 3: are very protective over their hat.
- 17:27Speaker 1: Yeah, this is so flirty. It's ridiculous.
- 17:29Speaker 3: It's so flirty. So I'm dancing with tall gouber guy
- 17:32Speaker 3: and I kind of have this moment where admittedly I
- 17:36Speaker 3: do have a little bit of an avoidant attachment style,
- 17:38Speaker 3: and I think I have these childhood wounds of not
- 17:41Speaker 3: getting romantic attention growing up to where I think I'm
- 17:44Speaker 3: afraid to show too much interest and get my power
- 17:46Speaker 3: away because I don't want to be shamed or humiliated. True,
- 17:49Speaker 3: and also I'm a little toxic. I kind of wanted
- 17:51Speaker 3: to make tall guber guy jealous. So I'm standing next
- 17:54Speaker 3: to tall goober guy. And also admittedly I'm thinking, I
- 17:57Speaker 3: don't know if Taylor is getting attention from young huge Grant,
- 18:00Speaker 3: I might need to like open up the floor for
- 18:01Speaker 3: her to flirt with tall goober guy. So I start
- 18:04Speaker 3: making eye contact with young Hugh Grant. I start kind
- 18:06Speaker 3: of dancing with him. Tall goober Guy flips his position,
- 18:09Speaker 3: start talking with Taylor, start talking with some other girls,
- 18:12Speaker 3: and then I start to have a little bit of
- 18:13Speaker 3: instant regret. I'm like, fuck, no, I miss. I was
- 18:15Speaker 3: like miss miss, Tall goober guy like come back over.
- 18:17Speaker 1: You're like, come back.
- 18:18Speaker 3: So we're all hanging out. We're still having a good time,
- 18:20Speaker 3: and this is when stuff goes down. This is when
- 18:24Speaker 3: the cigarette ruins my love life. So we're all hanging
- 18:26Speaker 3: out and this is I mean, we probably dance with
- 18:28Speaker 3: each other for like an hour, hour and a half,
- 18:30Speaker 3: maybe two hours, like we're having a committee.
- 18:32Speaker 2: It needs to be like some smooching. I'm like an hour.
- 18:34Speaker 2: I'm like, what the heck if you're not locking lives
- 18:37Speaker 2: with me? Yeah, what are we doing?
- 18:39Speaker 3: But they also keep like leaving the dance when coming back.
- 18:41Speaker 1: It is very hard.
- 18:41Speaker 2: I think what y'all have done so far, at least
- 18:43Speaker 2: from what I have heard, I'm like, it literally doesn't
- 18:45Speaker 2: get more obvious than that.
- 18:46Speaker 3: I was like, I'm making it so obvious that I'm
- 18:48Speaker 3: into you.
- 18:48Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 18:49Speaker 3: So finally we're all hanging out and we're gabbing and stuff,
- 18:52Speaker 3: and then tall goober Guy goes, I'm gonna go get
- 18:54Speaker 3: you guys drinks. What do you want? And we're like, finally,
- 18:56Speaker 3: you've been dancing for like two hours, buys a freaking drink.
- 19:00Speaker 3: You know, literal should have been twenty minutes. THEI like,
- 19:01Speaker 3: I don't know how much more obvious we could make it.
- 19:03Speaker 3: So tall goober guy goes over, and I think to myself, Abby,
- 19:07Speaker 3: you need to do something you've never done before, and
- 19:09Speaker 3: you need to go and tell that guy that you
- 19:10Speaker 3: think he's cute. I've done that before, but not with
- 19:12Speaker 3: the guy that I'm like into. I'll say you guy's cute,
- 19:15Speaker 3: or I'll be blunt and straightforward, but I'm like, oh,
- 19:16Speaker 3: this guy has a personality that I'm really into, and
- 19:18Speaker 3: I think he's hot, and he lives in Saint Pete.
- 19:21Speaker 3: Just go tell him you think he's hot. So I'm
- 19:22Speaker 3: standing there with young Hugh Grant and my friend Taylor,
- 19:24Speaker 3: and I tell my friend Taylor when I shouldn't have
- 19:26Speaker 3: said this, but I lied. I said I'm gonna go
- 19:28Speaker 3: to the bathroom.
- 19:29Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, I.
- 19:30Speaker 3: Shouldn't have said that. I should have just said I'm
- 19:32Speaker 3: gonna be right back. So I go to the bar
- 19:34Speaker 3: and I stand next to tall goober guy and he
- 19:36Speaker 3: put his freaking hat back on. I'm like, dude, got
- 19:38Speaker 3: gorgeous head, Dude, take your hat off. So I stand
- 19:41Speaker 3: next to him, I take his hat off, I put
- 19:43Speaker 3: it on me, and I look at him and I know,
- 19:46Speaker 3: I'm telling you I have I have great games.
- 19:48Speaker 1: We're just so smooth.
- 19:49Speaker 3: So I'm standing next to tall goober guy and he's
- 19:52Speaker 3: ordering the drink and then I look at him, and
- 19:54Speaker 3: then he looks at me, and I'm just kind of
- 19:56Speaker 3: kind of like give him in the eyes. And then
- 19:59Speaker 3: he puts in his order for the drink, and we're
- 20:00Speaker 3: both looking at each other, and then he pulls me
- 20:02Speaker 3: in by my belt straps.
- 20:04Speaker 1: Oh my god, what the god bless America.
- 20:08Speaker 3: And I'm like, oh my god, he's in me whoo.
- 20:11Speaker 3: And then I feel my ball cap get taken off
- 20:14Speaker 3: my head and I turn around and it's young Hugh
- 20:16Speaker 3: grant mother and I felt as though he caught as
- 20:21Speaker 3: fucking like That's how it felt. It felt like such
- 20:22Speaker 3: an intimate moment. I was like, oh my god, put
- 20:24Speaker 3: your clothes back on, Young Hugraen is in front of you,
- 20:28Speaker 3: and Taylor is trailing right behind him, and I go,
- 20:30Speaker 3: oh my god, now Taylor knows that I've lied to
- 20:32Speaker 3: her because I wanted to go make a move on
- 20:34Speaker 3: this guy that I wasn't sure that she was into,
- 20:36Speaker 3: and I didn't want to make it a thing. But
- 20:37Speaker 3: I'm like, he lives in Saint Pete and I think
- 20:39Speaker 3: he's really cute, and and she would have been fine
- 20:43Speaker 3: with it, like if I if I had made a move,
- 20:44Speaker 3: she's very cool, she would have.
- 20:45Speaker 1: Okay with it.
- 20:46Speaker 3: But I was like, I think I wanted to make
- 20:48Speaker 3: sure she had a good time too, and I didn't
- 20:49Speaker 3: want to make it a thing. But slowly I was
- 20:52Speaker 3: kind of getting a crush on toll Gooper, and I
- 20:53Speaker 3: was like.
- 20:54Speaker 1: Obviously, the way he pulls you in like that, Yeah.
- 20:57Speaker 3: I'm standing there and I'm like, I don't know what
- 20:59Speaker 3: to say. I'm so embarrassed. This is also ruining a
- 21:01Speaker 3: moment where I was like about to open myself up
- 21:03Speaker 3: very vulnerably and be like I think you're really hot
- 21:06Speaker 3: or whatever, and like say, I'm really into you, and
- 21:07Speaker 3: I just don't know what to do. So I grab
- 21:09Speaker 3: my drink and I walk to the dance floor. Taylor
- 21:11Speaker 3: comes back over and she goes, they're gonna go have
- 21:13Speaker 3: a cigarette, out back. They said they'll be right back,
- 21:14Speaker 3: and I go, okay, all right, and then Taylor and
- 21:17Speaker 3: I go, oh my god, no, they don't know how
- 21:19Speaker 3: long the line is about to get at good Night
- 21:21Speaker 3: John Boy. It's like midnight at this point. Oh yeah,
- 21:23Speaker 3: if you leave good Night john Boy to go out
- 21:26Speaker 3: of smoke, you're not getting back in. And so Taylor
- 21:28Speaker 3: and I will like, maybe they'll come back. So we're
- 21:29Speaker 3: still having a good time, Like, of course we're not
- 21:31Speaker 3: leaving good Night John Boy, We're not leaving. We're having
- 21:33Speaker 3: the best time. But it's getting progressively more and more packed,
- 21:36Speaker 3: and we both realize like we're never we're not going
- 21:38Speaker 3: to see these guys again, especially if we stay here.
- 21:40Speaker 3: And also I think we got to the point where
- 21:41Speaker 3: it got so crowded that we were like, we need
- 21:43Speaker 3: to go somewhere else. Yeah, Pa, it was getting insane,
- 21:45Speaker 3: and they were like, we've seen what we needed to see.
- 21:47Speaker 3: We had so much fun, let's go do one more
- 21:49Speaker 3: bar and have a good time. And admittedly I was
- 21:52Speaker 3: really bummed. I was really.
- 21:54Speaker 1: Obsessed, so bummed for you.
- 21:55Speaker 3: Right, Well, I can think you're hot and not have
- 21:57Speaker 3: a crush on you, correct, But actually, if I think
- 22:00Speaker 3: you're hot and you're in my age bracket, and you
- 22:02Speaker 3: can kind of like sling some zingers at me. I unfortunately,
- 22:06Speaker 3: I'm gonna start planning our wedding even though I'm only
- 22:10Speaker 3: I'm on you for twenty minutes and I'm showing you
- 22:12Speaker 3: middling interest.
- 22:14Speaker 1: He would have.
- 22:15Speaker 2: Definitely, like you think he was probably gonna go in
- 22:16Speaker 2: for the kiss for sure.
- 22:18Speaker 3: But here's the thing. I think he was very flirty.
- 22:19Speaker 3: He was talking to other girls, but so I was
- 22:21Speaker 3: kind of trying to like guard myself a little bit too. Also,
- 22:24Speaker 3: my friend is there. I can tell that my friend
- 22:26Speaker 3: is into him.
- 22:27Speaker 2: I'm so disappointed in his friend, because that's like the
- 22:29Speaker 2: definition what it sounds like. He took off your hat
- 22:31Speaker 2: and was like, should up a cock block? If your
- 22:33Speaker 2: friend is into me and he lives here, don't be
- 22:35Speaker 2: a douche. I know, save your friend and me a
- 22:37Speaker 2: lot of time.
- 22:38Speaker 3: So I kind of wonder because when they left the
- 22:40Speaker 3: dance floor, I wonder if they had had like a
- 22:42Speaker 3: talk like, hey, one of them lives here, one of
- 22:44Speaker 3: them doesn't. Why don't you go hang out with the
- 22:46Speaker 3: one that doesn't live here, and I'll hang out with
- 22:48Speaker 3: the one that does live here.
- 22:49Speaker 1: It only makes sense people.
- 22:50Speaker 3: Because when they came back, tall goober guy stood next
- 22:53Speaker 3: to me, and so I think I got a little
- 22:56Speaker 3: bit nervous, and I think when a cute boy is
- 22:58Speaker 3: showing interest, I kind of don't believe it. Does that
- 23:00Speaker 3: make sense?
- 23:01Speaker 1: So well, for sure, I literally still do that now.
- 23:04Speaker 1: I'm like, yeah, really, you're actually into me? Damn.
- 23:06Speaker 3: I know.
- 23:07Speaker 2: Okay, So you guys go and leave, they never make
- 23:11Speaker 2: their way back in.
- 23:12Speaker 3: They never make their way back in. You guys go out,
- 23:14Speaker 3: We go out to another bar. I mean, that's a
- 23:16Speaker 3: whole other side. I mean, I have like another story
- 23:18Speaker 3: about that next bar, but I don't know how much
- 23:20Speaker 3: time we have for this.
- 23:20Speaker 2: I was like, we might have to put that one
- 23:22Speaker 2: on pause because I'm like sales mean, I'm so just so.
- 23:24Speaker 2: No numbers were exchanged, no Instagrams were exchanged.
- 23:28Speaker 3: I don't know a thing about him except his name.
- 23:30Speaker 3: I think because this is because Taylor got his name,
- 23:32Speaker 3: I didn't. I think his name is Morgan. I know
- 23:35Speaker 3: he lives in Saint Pete. I'm assuming he's single, because otherwise,
- 23:39Speaker 3: why would you grab me by my belts?
- 23:40Speaker 1: Draps?
- 23:41Speaker 2: I was gonna say, like that would be the last
- 23:42Speaker 2: thing I would want to know is like, were you
- 23:44Speaker 2: so stand office because you're in something?
- 23:46Speaker 3: No, he I saw him talk to other girls. If
- 23:48Speaker 3: he has a girlfriend, I want nothing to do with him,
- 23:50Speaker 3: because that's not oh.
- 23:51Speaker 2: Yeah not But here's what's so crazy. Like now somebody's
- 23:55Speaker 2: going to hear this and be.
- 23:56Speaker 1: Like mission fine Morgan, I.
- 23:58Speaker 3: Was really bummed.
- 23:59Speaker 2: Here's what's exciting though, And I will say, like, it's
- 24:01Speaker 2: still exciting to feel like that feeling.
- 24:03Speaker 3: It's so I never get to feel like that, And
- 24:05Speaker 3: I think that's why it was such a bummer, not
- 24:07Speaker 3: so much like because again I don't know this guy.
- 24:09Speaker 3: This guy could be adude, she could have cheated on
- 24:10Speaker 3: his last girlfriend. I think it's important not to romanticize
- 24:13Speaker 3: people you don't like know.
- 24:14Speaker 2: Especially someone to hit on all the things of Like again, tall,
- 24:18Speaker 2: dark hair, curly throws a zinger at you. Yeah, like
- 24:21Speaker 2: those are all things like at least that I've learned
- 24:23Speaker 2: from you.
- 24:24Speaker 1: Abby.
- 24:24Speaker 2: It's like, oh wow, this dude's like check check check
- 24:26Speaker 2: check right, know, Like that's so exciting here again, I
- 24:30Speaker 2: will give it to credit, Like, first off, that move
- 24:33Speaker 2: that you made, rov, Oh.
- 24:36Speaker 1: I had a great Gabe holy craft.
- 24:38Speaker 3: If we had had two more minutes.
- 24:40Speaker 1: At that bar, it would have been done.
- 24:42Speaker 3: It would have been done. We would have been making
- 24:43Speaker 3: out one literally.
- 24:44Speaker 1: At the bar. Good Night, John boy, Oh my.
- 24:46Speaker 3: God, it would have been good night Abby, good night
- 24:49Speaker 3: Tall Gooper boy.
- 24:50Speaker 1: That's right. Well now I'm so curious.
- 24:51Speaker 2: Okay, so I want to dive in, not right now,
- 24:54Speaker 2: but to then what happened afterwards.
- 24:56Speaker 3: Because that's also a tale and there's a this that
- 24:59Speaker 3: will be a saga.
- 25:00Speaker 1: Well, oh my god, Okay.
