- 4:46Speaker 2: Oh oh, I'm manga.
- 4:51Speaker 1: Yeah. Now, I normally want to do manga and combook
- 4:55Speaker 1: stuff obviously for housive ideas. But of course, as you've
- 5:00Speaker 1: all probably listened to, unless you're new here high I
- 5:03Speaker 1: for you new. Sometimes I do do manga or graphic
- 5:07Speaker 1: novels on here. I keep them two particular ones that correlate,
- 5:12Speaker 1: either correlate or they're like one offs or whatever. Today
- 5:17Speaker 1: I can feel the universe judging me. It's called are
- 5:22Speaker 1: Torsos aligne Human ex monster love is not what you think.
- 5:30Speaker 1: I promise it's not some monster smut. I swear there's
- 5:36Speaker 1: no ninity whatsoever. There might be technacles coming out somewhere
- 5:41Speaker 1: that shouldn't be coming out of but we'll get to that.
- 5:43Speaker 1: It's not what you think. You all, you sickos. Yeah,
- 5:49Speaker 1: I'm looking at you, were wolf boy. Yeah, yeah, I'm

- 6:01Speaker 2: and suddenly for life.
- 6:03Speaker 1: Yeah uh huh. I mean your name is Kaju Groupie
- 6:09Speaker 1: m hm. So yes, I am talking about our torsos
- 6:16Speaker 1: a line Human ex Monster love story and art by
- 6:21Speaker 1: I'm gonna butcher your name and I am so sorry.
- 6:27Speaker 1: Rio Suma Sumi Nashi. I think I pronounced that right.
- 6:35Speaker 1: Because Japan, because the Japanese, Japanese anes are easy to
- 6:38Speaker 1: pronounce you to pronounce the legends very what's the word panetic?
- 6:44Speaker 1: Is that the word I'm looking for?
- 6:46Speaker 2: Beetic?
- 6:47Speaker 1: Like when you look at it, it sounds like what
- 6:50Speaker 1: it looks like, because Japanese Ans are kind.
- 6:54Speaker 2: Of like that, Devin, I went to school for art,
- 6:58Speaker 2: not linguistics or grammar. You did too, so don't so
- 7:03Speaker 2: stop trying.
- 7:05Speaker 1: No, But that's anyway, that's who the artist is. I'm
- 7:10Speaker 1: pretty sure I pronounced that name correctly, but if I didn't,
- 7:12Speaker 1: I am so sorry.
- 7:13Speaker 2: Oh wait, what how do you spell her name?
- 7:19Speaker 1: Their name? I do not know if it's a boy
- 7:20Speaker 1: or girl. Their name is why are why? And then
- 7:24Speaker 1: r y oh Ryo Rio Rio? And then Sumi Yoshi Yoshi.
- 7:34Speaker 1: Sumi Yoshi is s U m I y O s
- 7:39Speaker 1: h I it's Yoshi see me me and Yoshi Yoshi
- 7:48Speaker 1: there eventually wrong.
- 7:49Speaker 2: But I don't think we still are pronouncing it wrong.
- 7:51Speaker 2: But then again, we can't. We don't like they would.
- 7:56Speaker 1: Well, I mean, obviously we don't have the act. We
- 7:57Speaker 1: don't have the proper acts because we're speaking English not Japanese.
- 8:02Speaker 1: But I think I'm think I pronounced it. If not,
- 8:05Speaker 1: I am so sorry yourself is amazing heart. I'm a fan,
- 8:12Speaker 1: big fan. So this book is released from seven seven Entertainment,
- 8:22Speaker 1: Seven Seas Entertainment or seven Seas Books Manga. You can
- 8:28Speaker 1: find out on Go maga dot com, Amazon whatever I'm
- 8:32Speaker 1: reading off of course my Amazon fire blah blah blah,
- 8:35Speaker 1: Kindle amazing stunning go you know Kindle stuff. We're not sponsored,
- 8:38Speaker 1: but I wish we were. So this book is an
- 8:42Speaker 1: omnibus that consists of two volumes of this series, and
- 8:47Speaker 1: each there's like several one, two, three, four, five, six,
- 8:52Speaker 1: there's six chapters. One of them is put into two parts,
- 8:55Speaker 1: and each one deals with a different monster and or
- 8:58Speaker 1: and or human a monster human relationship of some kind.
- 9:03Speaker 1: So the first one we got to is uh Naptune,
- 9:08Speaker 1: not Naptune, not tom Naptum, which is a about a
- 9:13Speaker 1: girl and a bird man, a bird man. So the
- 9:20Speaker 1: story of that one deals around Hannah. Uh, I'm assuming
- 9:26Speaker 1: blonde because the hair is white in the books. I
- 9:27Speaker 1: assuming a blonde woman. That's why a picture and that's
- 9:29Speaker 1: what some of the images show that's actually colored.
- 9:33Speaker 2: Do you never you know, you can never tell with
- 9:35Speaker 2: with manga because like sometimes you assume that a character
- 9:39Speaker 2: has blonde hair. But then you see the anime and
- 9:41Speaker 2: it's like blue or pink.
- 9:42Speaker 1: That's fair. But in the image and some of the
- 9:45Speaker 1: artwork images and the very like the cover is the
- 9:47Speaker 1: is the two characters that I'm don gonna be talking about,
- 9:49Speaker 1: and she's blonde haired with that thing, and I'm like,
- 9:52Speaker 1: maybe she's blonde hair, blue eyes. I'm like, white woman,
- 9:54Speaker 1: white woman, white woman says otherwise because she never she
- 9:58Speaker 1: never said I don't think she ever says she's from
- 10:01Speaker 1: But she's in the Amazon doing a safari whatever in
- 10:05Speaker 1: not Safari, doing a tour of the Amazon. And at
- 10:10Speaker 1: some point in the Amazon, she gets I think she
- 10:14Speaker 1: gets lost or finds the Oh yeah, she's on a
- 10:18Speaker 1: boat in the Amazon, and she ends up. She traveled
- 10:24Speaker 1: to the Amazon. They get away from her life back
- 10:27Speaker 1: at home because we jumped back to her house, and
- 10:30Speaker 1: she finds out her boyfriend's cheating on her with another woman.
- 10:35Speaker 1: But turns out the other woman was his wife, so
- 10:38Speaker 1: he was cheating on his wife with her, so she
- 10:41Speaker 1: was the hussy. I was like, dangn dan. So she
- 10:47Speaker 1: got found out and then she pieced out and decided
- 10:49Speaker 1: to go to the Amazon alone to kind of get
- 10:56Speaker 1: a sense of adventure. And then the boat, the canoe
- 10:59Speaker 1: she was on, got struck by lightning and she fell
- 11:02Speaker 1: into the water of the Amazon River, and this large
- 11:07Speaker 1: bird came down and took her away, sweeped her off,
- 11:11Speaker 1: sweeped her out of the water with a big old claw,
- 11:14Speaker 1: and she wakes up in a nest in the middle
- 11:16Speaker 1: of a tree with this humanoid bird named naptum. Now,
- 11:24Speaker 1: this humanoid bird, I will probably put an image of
- 11:27Speaker 1: him on there, but we'll see he looks like that.
- 11:31Speaker 1: Oh yeah, he's a big old bird and he has arms,
- 11:37Speaker 1: legs and of course the big old bird wings, and
- 11:39Speaker 1: he looks like the design is pretty pretty legit. He
- 11:42Speaker 1: looks adorable as hell, and he's he kind of acts
- 11:45Speaker 1: like a not a new born, but he's very naive
- 11:50Speaker 1: obviously because he's never met a human before. So he
- 11:52Speaker 1: knows very little English, obviously, and he has this weird
- 11:57Speaker 1: bird language. And this story is based see about her
- 12:01Speaker 1: trying to figure out a way back home or out
- 12:04Speaker 1: of there, while also learning about this new species of
- 12:11Speaker 1: humanoid bird. And she's like, what the fuck, who are you?
- 12:15Speaker 1: And they both kind of just get to know each
- 12:18Speaker 1: other and ship and she kind of becomes fond of him,
- 12:23Speaker 1: and she she thinks he's she's a he's a man
- 12:26Speaker 1: in a costume and a bird costume. And he's like,
- 12:29Speaker 1: you have a beak of claw talons, you're a man
- 12:34Speaker 1: in a costume, right, And she goes, oh shit, you're
- 12:36Speaker 1: not you're not even human. Oh no, and she know yeah,
- 12:47Speaker 1: And then the birdman bonds with her and says he
- 12:53Speaker 1: loves her because like animals, animals bond for life. He's
- 12:58Speaker 1: he's chosen her as his mate, basically, and then he
- 13:01Speaker 1: has to go talk to his chief, leader of his
- 13:04Speaker 1: tribe or clan or whatever, to try and get bed somebody,
- 13:07Speaker 1: this is my mate. And of course the chief is
- 13:10Speaker 1: a bit much bigger birdman and he can speak perfect English,
- 13:14Speaker 1: and he does not like the fact that there's a
- 13:16Speaker 1: human here, and he's like, you need to go. He
- 13:20Speaker 1: should be with a felt, he should be with some
- 13:22Speaker 1: in his own kind, not a human. Get the fuck out.
- 13:25Speaker 1: And he's like, once you help in your wounds, you're
- 13:28Speaker 1: gonna pack up your shit and you're gonna leave. And
- 13:32Speaker 1: of course not Tom does not like that. Obviously, He's like, no,
- 13:36Speaker 1: she's gonna die. And he's like, no, she needs to go.
- 13:41Speaker 1: So the night happened the following night, I think like
- 13:44Speaker 1: the next day. In the middle of the night, Chief
- 13:47Speaker 1: comes by, takes her from his nest, and drops her
- 13:51Speaker 1: in the middle of the rainforest. This is for your
- 13:53Speaker 1: own good. And then she almost gets killed by a snake,
- 13:56Speaker 1: a very large snake, but she is bye the birdman
- 14:03Speaker 1: not Toom he comes in, fights off the snake and
- 14:07Speaker 1: saves her, and then he takes her back to his
- 14:13Speaker 1: nest and then they have kind of like an altercation
- 14:15Speaker 1: between the Chief and not Toom, and then you kind
- 14:21Speaker 1: of learned that the chief is that the first this
- 14:24Speaker 1: is not the first time he's met a human, because
- 14:27Speaker 1: you kind of get the hint I had Maya Phone
- 14:29Speaker 1: fallen in love with the human woman before as well.
- 14:33Speaker 1: So he's like, well, shit, I can't okay, He's like, fine,
- 14:38Speaker 1: you two can stay together. So she ends up. She
- 14:42Speaker 1: tells she tells him I love you too, and then
- 14:45Speaker 1: there's a whole like hug embracing and they kind of
- 14:49Speaker 1: just lit. They lived together happily ever after, and I thought, oh,
- 14:53Speaker 1: this is a horrible This is not why I thought
- 14:56Speaker 1: was gonna happen. Because I saw that human X Monster Love,
- 14:59Speaker 1: and I'm like, oh, this is gonna be smut, and
- 15:01Speaker 1: it's not like at all. That's yes, because each chapter
- 15:09Speaker 1: is over a different monster and it's like a different
- 15:12Speaker 1: little short story. So the first one the birdman, the
- 15:15Speaker 1: second one is with a fisherman and a mermaid. Now
- 15:23Speaker 1: I'm digging. Now I'm thinking this one, Oh, this one's
- 15:25Speaker 1: gonna be it's gonna be gonna be spicy. No, it wasn't.
- 15:30Speaker 1: It's not even close. So this fisherman is in obviously
- 15:33Speaker 1: off the on the coast of Japan, I'm assimming, and
- 15:37Speaker 1: he makes a life out of fishing, and he's not
- 15:40Speaker 1: very good at it because he does not get big
- 15:41Speaker 1: fish at all. But then one day he catches a
- 15:44Speaker 1: woman in his net and throws her out the water,
- 15:47Speaker 1: and he realizes, oh shit, this is a girl. What
- 15:49Speaker 1: the fuck? And he drives back, I mean, and he
- 15:55Speaker 1: tells the other fisherman, Hey, I caught a girl in
- 15:59Speaker 1: my net. What's going on here? And when the old men,
- 16:03Speaker 1: the old fisherman get on the boat and look, she's gone,
- 16:07Speaker 1: and the guys are like, you're losing your goddamn mind.
- 16:09Speaker 1: You're seeing shit. That's what people see that's what sailors
- 16:12Speaker 1: would see out in the middle of the sea, mermaids
- 16:15Speaker 1: when they're going crazy hallucinating. So he takes what little
- 16:21Speaker 1: fish he has and sells it off, but he's not
- 16:26Speaker 1: making a lot of money off of it because he's
- 16:27Speaker 1: not very so you're not very good at it, or
- 16:29Speaker 1: he's not in a good spot. But then this girls
- 16:31Speaker 1: are popping up randomly giving him large fish, and this
- 16:35Speaker 1: memory is walking out and playing sight two legs. The
- 16:40Speaker 1: whole works, and.
- 16:43Speaker 2: So he doesn't realize it's a mermaid just yeh.
- 16:45Speaker 1: He does not realize it's it's necessarily a mermaid because
- 16:48Speaker 1: she because this murmury doesn't necessarily have a tail either.
- 16:51Speaker 1: That's what's weird, because I think it's murmaid in a
- 16:54Speaker 1: concept because her body kind of formed from water to
- 16:56Speaker 1: a humanoid form but then back into water. It's weird.
- 17:00Speaker 1: It's a weird concept of a mermaid because you really
- 17:02Speaker 1: don't see a tail per se. But she pops up
- 17:07Speaker 1: prey oftly and gives him fish and crabs and shellfish,
- 17:12Speaker 1: and he's like, why are you helping me? And she's
- 17:15Speaker 1: just like because she's being nice, and you can kind
- 17:19Speaker 1: of see that she starts bonding with him, and then
- 17:24Speaker 1: she brings an octopus, a starfish, a bunch of other
- 17:27Speaker 1: type of shellfish. But no one else sees this girl,
- 17:30Speaker 1: just him, because when someone else comes into the picture
- 17:32Speaker 1: and sees her, she disappears into the water. And the
- 17:39Speaker 1: mermaid tells the guy to hey, go out in the
- 17:44Speaker 1: sea tonight. There's gonna be You're gonna be able to
- 17:46Speaker 1: cut some big fish. So he starts packing up and
- 17:48Speaker 1: getting ready to go on a boat out in the
- 17:50Speaker 1: middle of the night, and the guys are like older
- 17:52Speaker 1: frenchmen are like, I don't know if you want to
- 17:56Speaker 1: do that, and he's like why, and I'm because there's
- 17:58Speaker 1: a storm coming and he's like, it looks really fine
- 18:00Speaker 1: out here, is clear. He's like, no, but the storm.
- 18:04Speaker 1: There's gonna be a storm rolling in. So he doesn't
- 18:06Speaker 1: listen to them and he goes out, and then he
- 18:08Speaker 1: gets caught in a hella storm with the girl because
- 18:15Speaker 1: the girl's in the boat and he's driving around the
- 18:18Speaker 1: boat and the waves start getting real intense, and I
- 18:24Speaker 1: think he starts noticing that something's wrong with this girl.
- 18:29Speaker 1: So this story kind of goes about the way of
- 18:31Speaker 1: maybe this mermaid or this woman is trying to lure
- 18:35Speaker 1: him to his death at sea. But kind it's the
- 18:40Speaker 1: vibe I'm getting off of it because they have a
- 18:43Speaker 1: moment that they're consider themselves both outcasts. And as the
- 18:47Speaker 1: waves get more intense, her body, like her hair becomes
- 18:51Speaker 1: more octopus like, more tenderly, and I'm like, oh, she's
- 18:56Speaker 1: trying to kill him. And she's like, the sea won't
- 19:00Speaker 1: ever let you be alone, because she's trying to be like,
- 19:03Speaker 1: you won't be alone in the sea. Join me in
- 19:06Speaker 1: the sea. But of course, as a human, if he
- 19:10Speaker 1: goes into the sea, he will drown and die. So
- 19:15Speaker 1: he gets saved by the fishermen and he never really
- 19:22Speaker 1: he gets saved by the fisherman and he's like, y'all
- 19:25Speaker 1: care because because he always thought the old man, the
- 19:27Speaker 1: old fisherman, the old man hated him for whatever reason
- 19:30Speaker 1: because he was younger or whatever, and he's like, you
- 19:32Speaker 1: saved me. Why He's like, because we like you, kid,
- 19:37Speaker 1: We would have helped you if you asked, but he
- 19:39Speaker 1: never did. So it ends with him and being like,
- 19:42Speaker 1: oh my god, the old man didn't did care. I'm
- 19:45Speaker 1: not an outcast. And the Mermaid's never seen again after
- 19:50Speaker 1: she tried to drown them, because back in the old
- 19:53Speaker 1: days with the stories mermaids, legends of mermaids would try
- 19:57Speaker 1: to drown people or those were sirens. Corse, sirens are
- 20:02Speaker 1: also harpies and or mermaids. That's weird, weird thing.
- 20:06Speaker 2: That's where like there's like so many different stories about them.
- 20:09Speaker 2: Like there's mermaids, sirens, and then like I've always seen
- 20:13Speaker 2: harpies as like bird women, like that's the that's the
- 20:17Speaker 2: image that I've always seen. Apparently they're also interchangeable with
- 20:21Speaker 2: something like sirens, which and then like I thought sirens
- 20:25Speaker 2: literally were just like they look like women that just
- 20:30Speaker 2: sing and their song draws men to their deaths, right,
- 20:33Speaker 2: like men to like drive to like sail their boats
- 20:35Speaker 2: into like the reef or into like hard rocks that
- 20:38Speaker 2: would just tear their ships apart. But then like I
- 20:41Speaker 2: also I started seeing sirens like images of sirens that
- 20:45Speaker 2: are basically mermaids, and I'm like, so wait, what are they? Then?
- 20:48Speaker 2: Is it a mermaid? Is it a siren? Is it
- 20:50Speaker 2: a like what is it?
- 20:53Speaker 1: That's where it gets weird because you've got harpies, mermaids,
- 20:56Speaker 1: and then sirens can either be a harpy or a mermaid.
- 20:59Speaker 1: It's fucking weird. It just depends on which culture and
- 21:01Speaker 1: which story you're looking at. Like the Greeks, I think
- 21:04Speaker 1: use siren for both because I think they're being stories
- 21:07Speaker 1: where the sirens it's mermaids. But then there are also
- 21:10Speaker 1: sirens that are also harpies, so it's really weird.
- 21:14Speaker 2: I like this sirens. I like the sirens from the
- 21:17Speaker 2: Witcher game, the Witcher three game. The sirens is that one. Well,
- 21:22Speaker 2: they're like a mix of all three. So they have
- 21:24Speaker 2: the it's kind of like almost something like a centaur,
- 21:27Speaker 2: so like the the upper body is that of a
- 21:30Speaker 2: beautiful woman. But then like right where their their body
- 21:34Speaker 2: becomes a fishtail, they have wings. So they have wings
- 21:38Speaker 2: and the fishtail too, so they do swim in the ocean,
- 21:41Speaker 2: but then they can jump out and start flying.
- 21:44Speaker 1: Oh my god, flying really flying fish.
- 21:48Speaker 2: Yeah, pretty much flying fish. And then when they die
- 21:51Speaker 2: they like the thing is is that the female, the
- 21:54Speaker 2: beautiful women is just a it's just an illusion. So
- 21:58Speaker 2: when they die, they immediately turn into this ugly like
- 22:00Speaker 2: hag looking creature. So I like that. It was like
- 22:05Speaker 2: a mix of the harpy, the siren, and mermaid.
- 22:09Speaker 1: Yeah, now that I know that sounds cool. I like that,
- 22:12Speaker 1: that's cool. So that's the Mermaids or that summer made.
- 22:19Speaker 1: And then it shows an image of like the way
- 22:22Speaker 1: a wave of water turning into the Mermaids. I'm kind
- 22:26Speaker 1: of like, is that supposed to be like an idea
- 22:28Speaker 1: that she's forming from the water itself into the human
- 22:32Speaker 1: instead of like the fish. And I'm like, that's kind
- 22:35Speaker 1: of an interesting take on a mermaid. Then we go
- 22:38Speaker 1: into homunculus, which, Jacob, do you know what homunculus is?
- 22:47Speaker 2: So are we talking like the artificial humans from.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Yeah, that they fully micro it's it's it's so the
- 22:58Speaker 1: definition of a homunculous late Ladies and Gentlemen others, is
- 23:02Speaker 1: a supposed microscopic but fully formed human being from which
- 23:08Speaker 1: I fetus was formerly believed to be developed to develop.
- 23:12Speaker 1: So artificial humans basically, that's the lower aspect of it.
- 23:18Speaker 1: It's like, it's artificial humans, man made humans. So this
- 23:24Speaker 1: one's about a group of Homunculi that are used for missions,
- 23:29Speaker 1: combat missions because they so the story here is that
- 23:33Speaker 1: humanity left Earth because Earth was going to shit. So
- 23:36Speaker 1: when they decide after many years, decided to come back.
- 23:40Speaker 1: They found out, Oh, the earth has new life forms
- 23:43Speaker 1: on it that are very hostile. Let's make this these
- 23:46Speaker 1: homunculi to take out these hostile creatures so we could
- 23:49Speaker 1: take back our home. So that's basically the story where
- 23:53Speaker 1: you meet a bunch of homunculi as they there's one
- 23:58Speaker 1: called I seven, see four of they all have a
- 24:07Speaker 1: bunch of letter. They have a letter and the number
- 24:09Speaker 1: in their name. But they're all a Monkeyly and they're
- 24:14Speaker 1: all being led by a human woman named Takeiko, and
- 24:27Speaker 1: she's the head of the Monkeyly Monkeyus Education and she
- 24:34Speaker 1: basically is the she's the chair, she's the computer girl
- 24:38Speaker 1: at the desk talking to all the monkey lily out there.
- 24:42Speaker 1: So you got one set I seven, C one D
- 24:46Speaker 1: five U five Is that all of them? I mean
- 24:50Speaker 1: that's all of them. So they all come in different shapes,
- 24:52Speaker 1: like you have one seven, which is a six year
- 24:55Speaker 1: old six years old seventh generation a monkey lily is
- 24:59Speaker 1: much order and he's more he see's even more built
- 25:03Speaker 1: for like weapon you said. Then you got like C one,
- 25:06Speaker 1: which is he's seven years old and he's a seventh
- 25:09Speaker 1: generation from Monkeyli and he's more seems for me it
- 25:16Speaker 1: seems more speed, and then you have U five and
- 25:19Speaker 1: D five that are like big muscular built tanks. And yeah,
- 25:28Speaker 1: the story is about them fighting off different life worms, insects, bugs, creatures, monsters,
- 25:35Speaker 1: whatever they're on earth, and he's a monkeyli are trying
- 25:40Speaker 1: to basically just learn stuff around them, learn how to communicate,
- 25:44Speaker 1: learn culture, all the fun shit from their leader and
- 25:49Speaker 1: the thing about homunculus. They live only to be twenty
- 25:52Speaker 1: years old and then what sucks. So the point of
- 25:56Speaker 1: this story is with human and monster love. It's not,
- 26:00Speaker 1: but it's more of a parental love because the woman
- 26:05Speaker 1: in charge is like, treats these monkeylous like they're like her,
- 26:10Speaker 1: like they're her kids. So it's mother This one's based
- 26:13Speaker 1: around the the idea of motherly love. So she sees
- 26:17Speaker 1: all these homnkeyl i as her kids, even though they weren't.
- 26:20Speaker 1: She wasn't supposed to get attached to them, and she
- 26:23Speaker 1: planned on retiring, but she can't because she's like, these
- 26:26Speaker 1: are my children. Basically I can't do that. And she's
- 26:29Speaker 1: with them until they'd hit about twenty and when they
- 26:33Speaker 1: hit about twenty, they'll just randomly drop to the floor dead,
- 26:37Speaker 1: like they'll shut down randomly. Yeah, yeah, it's like what
- 26:41Speaker 1: like because they have a flashback where she's walking with
- 26:43Speaker 1: one of them and she's talking with them like, yeah,
- 26:46Speaker 1: we're gonna go give We're gonna get your favorite food
- 26:49Speaker 1: for dinner or whatever, and then she looks away and
- 26:51Speaker 1: they fall to the ground, dead, gone, shut off, and
- 26:56Speaker 1: it's just the lifespan of the homuncula and she the
- 27:00Speaker 1: whole story is basically that, like she wants to retire,
- 27:03Speaker 1: but she can't. She's like, these are my children. I
- 27:05Speaker 1: can't just I raise them. I can't just up and
- 27:08Speaker 1: leave them. And one of them, one of the monkey Lie,
- 27:11Speaker 1: the one of the older ones, the one that's D five,
- 27:14Speaker 1: he goes out there and goes on reckless mission by himself.
- 27:18Speaker 1: He's like, if I die, I don't care. I need
- 27:20Speaker 1: to do one last mission, do my job whatever. And
- 27:25Speaker 1: everyone's like, are you crazy? Stop you're about to die.
- 27:29Speaker 1: Don't kill yourself, and they almost lose him, and that's
- 27:35Speaker 1: kind of where the where their leaders like, you know what, Yeah,
- 27:38Speaker 1: I'm not retiring. You only are my kids. I can't
- 27:42Speaker 1: I can't leave y'all. And then they all start calling
- 27:45Speaker 1: her mom, and I mean, that's pretty much the story
- 27:47Speaker 1: and nutshells that they do several missions and they kind
- 27:50Speaker 1: of deal with the fact that someday they're not they're
- 27:52Speaker 1: going to die, they're not going to live very long
- 27:54Speaker 1: because their life SPAN's very short. And it's not fair
- 27:58Speaker 1: that their life span is very short, because at the
- 28:00Speaker 1: end of the day, they're still living things, regardless if
- 28:03Speaker 1: they're man made or artificially made or whatever. They're still
- 28:06Speaker 1: living creatures, living beings. It kind of pushes the envelope
- 28:11Speaker 1: on are these people. Are these unculous human or are
- 28:15Speaker 1: they not? Are they just objects? Are they dress as
- 28:18Speaker 1: human as their leader, who's a literal human? So kind
- 28:23Speaker 1: of yeah. Kind of makes she sit there and go oh,
- 28:26Speaker 1: but she gets attached, obviously, and she from that point
- 28:29Speaker 1: they all start calling her mom, and she continues on
- 28:33Speaker 1: with this mission of raising the monculus, even into her
- 28:37Speaker 1: old age as an old woman, she still does it.
- 28:41Speaker 1: She's like, these are my kids, so and she comes
- 28:46Speaker 1: to terms with that as Yeah, that's pretty much it.
- 28:51Speaker 1: That one's I like that one. It was real cute
- 28:54Speaker 1: and sweet, and that's when I realized, oh, this book
- 28:57Speaker 1: is not smut. This book is about different forms of
- 29:01Speaker 1: love in a person's life romantically, motherly, platonic whatever. And
- 29:09Speaker 1: then we get into the next one that's real fucked up.
- 29:11Speaker 1: Oh my god, it's our it's our special little co
- 29:15Speaker 1: host Shelly.
- 29:19Speaker 2: She was eyeballing me just now, like she was just
- 29:21Speaker 2: napping earlier, and then she I just felt something staring
- 29:26Speaker 2: at me. I looked over and there she was sitting
- 29:27Speaker 2: at the edge of my bed, just just staring at me.
- 29:30Speaker 1: Like, hello, I matter. Yeah, very little baby, she died
- 29:37Speaker 1: a baby.
- 29:39Speaker 2: M hm, she's a ten year old baby, that's for sure.
- 29:42Speaker 2: She is my elderly child. Yeah, she probably wants to
- 29:50Speaker 2: go out probably. We're almost done moments.
- 29:54Speaker 1: So we get into the next one, and then I'm like, oh,
- 29:58Speaker 1: this is so heartwarming. This is sweet. Next one is
- 30:01Speaker 1: not so sweet. This one's called the Human Flower. Oh yeah,
- 30:09Speaker 1: this one with you, I was like, I was like, oh,
- 30:12Speaker 1: this is so cute. No, it's not so. This one
- 30:17Speaker 1: deals around a guy that's on a date with this
- 30:19Speaker 1: girl who they're at a coffee shop and he's looking
- 30:23Speaker 1: at this girl and this girl has a flower for
- 30:25Speaker 1: a head, and you're thinking, oh, a humanoid flower, because
- 30:30Speaker 1: she has like from the neck down, she's human from
- 30:33Speaker 1: the neck up. She's a flower, a lily because her
- 30:36Speaker 1: name is Yuri, and Uri is Japanese for lily. So
- 30:41Speaker 1: he's talking to this this flower creature, and he's talking
- 30:45Speaker 1: about how beautiful she is and how he's a florist
- 30:49Speaker 1: of course, and how they first met when in the
- 30:51Speaker 1: rain she came up to him asking for flowers for
- 30:55Speaker 1: to take to a grave, and he's just like, oh,
- 30:57Speaker 1: she's so beautiful, blah blah blah, and it gets kind
- 31:00Speaker 1: of attached their day ends and they talk about how
- 31:04Speaker 1: they're going to meet up later, and when she's walking away,
- 31:08Speaker 1: he hands her a scarf and put around her neck
- 31:12Speaker 1: and she's like, oh, you look so pretty, so beautiful,
- 31:15Speaker 1: blah blah blah blah blah, and they kind of have
- 31:17Speaker 1: a tender moment and I'm like, oh, this is a
- 31:18Speaker 1: romance story. Is so cute. And then she walks away
- 31:22Speaker 1: and she's on the train with a scruff, and you
- 31:24Speaker 1: realize that's a human girl. She has a human head
- 31:28Speaker 1: and everything, not a flower head. And then it comes
- 31:31Speaker 1: back to him and it says, that was close. It
- 31:35Speaker 1: was perfect for her. I knew my intents, my instincts
- 31:39Speaker 1: were right. Red looks so good. On that White Flower Act.
- 31:44Speaker 1: To prepare before she comes to my place, I need
- 31:47Speaker 1: a vase to hold her beauty, indicating that she's going
- 31:52Speaker 1: to cut off her head and put her head in
- 31:53Speaker 1: a vase. And I'm like, how do you go for
- 32:02Speaker 1: something so cute and wholesome as the homunculous to this
- 32:06Speaker 1: serial killer obsessed with flowers and thinking people they can
- 32:09Speaker 1: cut off their head. It's a flower. I was like, Oh,
- 32:12Speaker 1: this is fucked up, this is fucked up. I love it,
- 32:14Speaker 1: but this is fucked up. My girl run away. He
- 32:19Speaker 1: is psycho. He has a serial killer who loves flowers.
- 32:25Speaker 1: So there's that one, and then we get into the
- 32:27Speaker 1: Torso Warrior. So the Torso Warrior, what are you even
- 32:35Speaker 1: begin with? Torso Torso guy? So these two astronauts space
- 32:41Speaker 1: people are from Earth and they're visiting this planet that
- 32:47Speaker 1: they're trying to find a new home for humanity for relocation.
- 32:53Speaker 1: So they find this planet looks habitable and it's a
- 32:57Speaker 1: guy and a girl, uh turn and no me things
- 33:03Speaker 1: are name. So they SEO are doing research on the
- 33:06Speaker 1: planet and seeing if it's havable, if there's any living
- 33:10Speaker 1: life form, stuff like that, and then they find out
- 33:16Speaker 1: about this creature that lives on this planet that comes
- 33:23Speaker 1: across them, that basically came across entered their station and
- 33:26Speaker 1: carry the shit out of them. It turns out that
- 33:29Speaker 1: this thing is one of many things, because the first
- 33:33Speaker 1: one they saw attack them, and then another one came
- 33:35Speaker 1: into their defense to save them. And these things are male.
- 33:43Speaker 1: They look male as far as the torso so at
- 33:46Speaker 1: the torso of a male. No arms, no legs, but
- 33:50Speaker 1: chest head, that's it. And on top of their head
- 33:57Speaker 1: they have these wings coming out of their head that
- 34:00Speaker 1: they fly, and they're very fast and very strong, quick, nimble,
- 34:07Speaker 1: and then they have these technacal things that are coming
- 34:10Speaker 1: out of their body, and you're like, what the fuck?
- 34:12Speaker 1: And these are the alien life ones that live on
- 34:14Speaker 1: this planet. They come to find out from the one
- 34:17Speaker 1: that saved them. The one that saved them is like, oh,
- 34:21Speaker 1: I'm here to protect you. They're trying to kill the
- 34:24Speaker 1: other ones are trying to kill you. The other warriors
- 34:25Speaker 1: trying to kill you because you're a poison. And they're like,
- 34:29Speaker 1: what the fuck do you mean We're a poison. Turns
- 34:31Speaker 1: out humanity's poison. They're like, no matter your intentions, you're
- 34:36Speaker 1: gonna bring harms to this world, and I'm like, oof,
- 34:40Speaker 1: Humanity's a poison. And I'm like, okay, I see what
- 34:42Speaker 1: they're trying to go for here. And they're like, why
- 34:45Speaker 1: are you helping us? Where are you defending us? Because
- 34:47Speaker 1: the other one, the other Torso warriors were flinging rocks
- 34:51Speaker 1: and shit at them, but this one, this particular one,
- 34:56Speaker 1: was helping them. He's like, because I love you both,
- 34:59Speaker 1: because the men tell me. So you're like, what memories?
- 35:04Speaker 1: So basically trying to continue on their experimentation and while
- 35:08Speaker 1: also trying to figure out why are these things here?
- 35:12Speaker 1: How are they? Is there nothing wrong with them? And
- 35:16Speaker 1: basically there's a good in two parts and you find
- 35:18Speaker 1: out that these life forms are just the life that
- 35:21Speaker 1: happens beyond this planet.
- 35:23Speaker 2: And huh, I just said, right.
- 35:28Speaker 1: Yeah. So Nami the girl is kind of looking over
- 35:33Speaker 1: the one she calls Nike, which, of course, if you
- 35:35Speaker 1: don't for all you that don't know, Nike is the
- 35:38Speaker 1: god or the goddess of victory in Greek mythology, and
- 35:43Speaker 1: she's also kind of referencing the statue, the headless, armless
- 35:47Speaker 1: statue of Nike that's well known, and she's like, oh
- 35:50Speaker 1: my God, this this creature's like Nike, no arms, no legs,
- 35:55Speaker 1: just ahead. But granted the statue has no arms, legs,
- 36:00Speaker 1: or head. It's just the torso and wings. So she
- 36:04Speaker 1: calls them, she calls them in her head Nike, but
- 36:06Speaker 1: he never she never actually says it out loud, But
- 36:10Speaker 1: turns out she's feeling this creature. His body is very alloy,
- 36:18Speaker 1: heart as a rock, hard as steel metal, and she
- 36:22Speaker 1: notices these technical things coming out of it's butt, literally
- 36:29Speaker 1: coming out the butt, and I'm like what. And it
- 36:32Speaker 1: turns out these things are also made of metal, and
- 36:34Speaker 1: it's another thing that lives inside of these creatures that
- 36:37Speaker 1: they can use like a symbiogical relationship. But it's coming
- 36:40Speaker 1: out the butt, and I'm like that's interesting. So at
- 36:49Speaker 1: this point they kind of realized, Yeah, maybe we shouldn't
- 36:52Speaker 1: live here on this planet because the planet itself is
- 36:55Speaker 1: trying to kill us, and it's selling all these old
- 36:57Speaker 1: warriors to try and kill us because we're a poison
- 37:00Speaker 1: and sort of like, yeah, we need to get the
- 37:01Speaker 1: hell out of here, and we're gonna call this point
- 37:03Speaker 1: at a loss to leave and kind of just tell
- 37:06Speaker 1: humanity this plant's not it. We need to leave these
- 37:10Speaker 1: creatures alone to thrive on their own. So and then
- 37:17Speaker 1: they also start realizing that these creatures can absorb memories
- 37:20Speaker 1: and emotions from objects. During the final battle, when these
- 37:27Speaker 1: other Torso warriors are battling Nike, they blow a hole
- 37:31Speaker 1: in them and they find a ring. The ring that
- 37:35Speaker 1: they found was the ring because these two have been
- 37:40Speaker 1: on this plant before prior and Turner gave not Me
- 37:44Speaker 1: a ring almost like an engagement ring or a promise ring,
- 37:48Speaker 1: and the emotions he was getting that he loved them
- 37:51Speaker 1: that overpowered his emotions to defend the planet or whatever
- 37:54Speaker 1: or from the rank because he had the ring on
- 37:55Speaker 1: his person. So that's when and then of course not
- 37:59Speaker 1: Me in turn and realize, oh shit, he does, and
- 38:03Speaker 1: he's like, oh my god, Turner does. Let me my god,
- 38:06Speaker 1: the human relations and then they and then of course
- 38:08Speaker 1: they leave the planet. They leave it to the creatures
- 38:13Speaker 1: and they kind of just go off and do their
- 38:14Speaker 1: own thing. That's pretty much it is the fact of like,
- 38:17Speaker 1: these metallic creatures are on the planet. He mad, he's
- 38:20Speaker 1: a poison blah blah blah. He defends them, and they leave,
- 38:24Speaker 1: like we're gonna leave this planet alone because we don't
- 38:26Speaker 1: want to fuck up their ecosystem. So and then from
- 38:32Speaker 1: there that's that story. And so what's funny is Nike dies.
- 38:38Speaker 1: They kill them, they destroy him, like he's saying there,
- 38:41Speaker 1: he's saying, there's goodbyes. And then he blows up the
- 38:45Speaker 1: little bite sized pieces the blow his brains out. And
- 38:47Speaker 1: then at the very end, when their ship is flying off,
- 38:50Speaker 1: he comes out of the ground and forms from the
- 38:54Speaker 1: ground below them, which is kind of cool because he's
- 38:58Speaker 1: made from the earth. That's cool. And then the last
- 39:02Speaker 1: story is cheap. We go back to the chief, so
- 39:05Speaker 1: we gotta get We go back to the first story
- 39:07Speaker 1: with the bird with the birdman, and we learn a
- 39:10Speaker 1: little bit. We check him back in with Hannah. So
- 39:13Speaker 1: Hannah is learning the language of the bird people of
- 39:17Speaker 1: her husband and his fellow Ken. So she's having a
- 39:21Speaker 1: hard time learning the language, but she's trying to get
- 39:23Speaker 1: to work. And Chief is like, hey, if you can
- 39:26Speaker 1: tell me, if you can ask me the question of
- 39:30Speaker 1: what happened, how do you know English? You can ask
- 39:36Speaker 1: me that question, I'll tell you that story. So cause
- 39:40Speaker 1: she wants to know, why do you know so much
- 39:42Speaker 1: about humans? What's the story there? And he's like, you
- 39:45Speaker 1: asked me in that language, and I'll tell you. So
- 39:48Speaker 1: she doesn't. She tries to learn how to say it, obviously,
- 39:52Speaker 1: but then we get a flashback that she the Chief
- 39:56Speaker 1: also met a woman named Yuki who was human and
- 40:03Speaker 1: who kind of saw him as a monster, like he's like,
- 40:08Speaker 1: you kind of see a flashback of her meeting him,
- 40:13Speaker 1: and they kind of have a cute little moments here
- 40:16Speaker 1: and there where they first meet and they're a whole
- 40:18Speaker 1: tender and then they wed, and what I mean by
- 40:23Speaker 1: wed they spend the night together. The catch one I'm
- 40:28Speaker 1: thrown down, and he has these tapes that she would record,
- 40:34Speaker 1: and it turns out she was more terrified of him.
- 40:40Speaker 1: She saw him as a monster, or at least it's
- 40:42Speaker 1: what came off as for me reading it, because it
- 40:45Speaker 1: doesn't explicitly say but he feels basically betrayal, and because
- 40:53Speaker 1: he didn't, I guess he didn't read the situation. So
- 40:57Speaker 1: he sees she saw him as a monster, and you
- 41:00Speaker 1: get shot of her pointing a gun at him saying,
- 41:03Speaker 1: you need to get away from me. And that's basically
- 41:07Speaker 1: chief story on why he had such disdain against humans
- 41:11Speaker 1: for the longest time, because he fell in love with
- 41:14Speaker 1: a human and it turns out it wasn't reciprocated. So
