Caddey B: trying to make sure we're a different shirts, you know, so people don't think that, you know, we DJ Rubbaban: yeah. Caddey B: trade in we we trade in clothes and we only own one one one set of clothes. DJ Rubbaban: One one building three forty-one sure. Yeah. You know one of my you know my girl Tiny. She just celebrated her anniversary with Tiff. I think they've been married seventeen years, man. Much respect, man. He remarried my girl Tiny, man. Mad respect and love goes out. Have you heard anything Caddey B: yeah, I mean DJ Rubbaban: about the anything else about the shooting in Chico or that's kinda like old news now? Caddey B: No, I haven't I haven't heard much anything else. I DJ Rubbaban: People going back to the library now. Caddey B: They starting to they got some satellite libraries set up and stuff and they doing some things like that. I saw on Instagram. DJ Rubbaban: Okay. Would you let your girl go to that library? You're taking a long time to answer. You're taking a long time to answer. Shout out the live building. Caddey B: Maybe go to the Chico St maybe go to the Chico State Library. DJ Rubbaban: okay, Caddey B: She's to work there. DJ Rubbaban: Right, So man, how you feeling about all Caddey B: You know, you know. DJ Rubbaban: this new music that's out? And I gotta st I like sometimes I say legacy artists, but people always saying, put out new music. So and so should put out new music and this artist should put out new music. And right now, these last couple years, a lot of A lot of artists from the eighties, Caddey B: Dear. DJ Rubbaban: nineties, and to early two thousands been putting out albums. Caddey B: I think everybody's put out an album within the last three to four years. Or they're or they or they have DJ Rubbaban: E forty has a new album. Caddey B: one coming out. DJ Rubbaban: they like E forty's is coming out on the twenty-eighth. A four out Caddey B: Yeah, and he's dropping four. DJ Rubbaban: it's come he coming out with forty songs. Forty songs. Three s four CDs. Caddey B: Four CDs. Yeah, he wanted he said, you know, Drake was getting all that pub for doing three. He was like, I can do four. DJ Rubbaban: He gon' do four. Caddey B: I knew he would though. I had a feeling he DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. Caddey B: that 'cause he's always put out the most albums at one time. or he'd put out two, he and then he'd put out another two like the next month. DJ Rubbaban: Right, Whereas with Master P, he would just put out a lot of different artists. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: Like you didn't even know some of them artists and you was like, I like that one song from from A Cain and Abel. I like that one song from so and so. Yeah. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. I was thinking about it the other day. They put out so many albums at that time, like Master P and them, like it kinda blended together to where DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. Caddey B: you think that you know a song off of an album, but it actually was off of one of the other albums. DJ Rubbaban: It was on it was on one of those random ones. Caddey B: Yeah, or off of one of like his movies. 'Cause remember he was putting he was putting out mo hood movies back then too. You know. And they had little soundtracks and DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. He had some other movies. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I mean his business plan was crazy. Like, you know how some Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: artists, especially at that time, concentrated on the best quality work? And no disrespect to Master P. But he would just put it out. He would Master P and it would go gold. It will go platinum. Caddey B: He was still g he was still getting that money. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah yeah. Caddey B: Put out one quality one or put out five that are quality, just not the highest caliber, and make the same amount DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. Caddey B: of money that the one person made off of one. DJ Rubbaban: I remember Silk to Shaka and Silk had that offset you know rap style. But but girls love Silk Caddey B: Mm-hmm. DJ Rubbaban: to Shaka and a lot of people love Silk to Shaka, right? Man, I got a platinum plaque from Silk. Man, I think I brought it up to the radio station. I did something when I had other bikes by the end. But man, almost got into a fight over somebody saying silk wasn't no good. I was like, man, Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: silk was the shit. Man, I don't care what you say. That first Silk to Shaka album, that second one, when he started doing work with with Maya and all of them. But shout out Silk Caddey B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: to Shaka, man. Shout out Silk. Caddey B: And it and it's still free sea murder. C Murder, that was he he had he had some hard ones. Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: It man. Now did you like his album? Did you like be honest? Did you like Caddey B: C Murder has some stuff. DJ Rubbaban: You was a C Murder friend? Caddey B: Yeah. I was more of a C Murder fan than a Soka Shaka fan. DJ Rubbaban: There you go. That that's that's Builder 341. I'm Silk the Shocker and you see murder. You light skinned in jail. Now man, you you know what I was listening to old listening to new singles, I was listening to Rick Ross's new album. And I really try to study these albums and listen to them and be objective. You know, like I'm writing a review for a magazine or something back in the like I used to back in the day. And I'm listening to Rick Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: Ross' album. He picks really good beats. And if you like traditional Rick Ross, it's the same Rick Ross. So you said that it's the same. Caddey B: That's what I said that's what I said last one. I was like, I was really surprised. Like he got in his bag. DJ Rubbaban: You know what surprised me though? Remember, he would do a Maybach music song. One, two, three, four. This newest Caddey B: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: one is him and Jeezy. And I hate to say this, but I love to say this. Hands down, we need a new album from Jeezy. Jeezy. Jeezy Caddey B: That's facts. DJ Rubbaban: killed that man. Jeezy. Technically, Jeezy can release that without Rick Ross and just have him on there. Jeezy. Caddey B: But he did the same he did the same he did the same thing on T I's album on the one with him and and DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, yeah. Caddey B: and T Pain. And I mean, jeezy? DJ Rubbaban: He killed it. He killed it. You could tell he studied. You could tell he studied, like, okay, okay, okay. He killed Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: it. He killed it. We forget that Jeezy is lyrical, and you listen to souls, you listen to some of his songs from back in the day, old Jeezy. You go, damn, I missed that. Damn, Jeezy got something to say. Caddey B: Even his last one, his last one was really good and I think it was really slept on and it's the one DJ Rubbaban: It was good. It was slept on though. Caddey B: he's sitting there leaning up against that that car, but he was more on like some grown man. And I think it really DJ Rubbaban: Right. Caddey B: got slept on. DJ Rubbaban: I think too, like the presentation, what's your rollout? Remember he had the book? You know, he had a whole bunch of stuff come out. Caddey B: yeah, yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: He was getting divorced from the Asian chick, and the Asian chick was saying you you you do this with dark meat, but you don't do this with dark you know, it was a whole bunch going on. You know. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, but shout out Jeezy, man, you killed it. You killed it. Man, you killed it. Caddey B: Yeah. He've been doing that residency out there in Vegas, like everybody DJ Rubbaban: he doing a residency? Caddey B: He's been doing it he's been doing a his shows out there in Vegas and it's all like you gotta be fully suited and booted. Like it's a black tie DJ Rubbaban: Okay, okay. Caddey B: affair and it's he's got the biggest symphony playing behind, so it's a live thing. DJ Rubbaban: I need to I need to look on I need to look online and see if I see some snips from it. 'Cause I wonder because his cadence, he's kinda like a E forty where it's kinda overdubbed or it's kinda like two tracks. You know what I mean? Like you listen to how Caddey B: Mm-hmm. DJ Rubbaban: Jeezy rap, you know, Yeah da da da da da da da da Snowman and then da da da da da da to where you can't stop and then say that. So I often wonder live. Does he really give you what you need? Does it flow? You know what I mean? Is it is it is it the vocals over him Caddey B: And DJ Rubbaban: talk rapping? You know. Caddey B: And I think on his last one on his last album, I'll send it to you, and re listen to it, it doesn't have that you know, that that double that that double on there, that double flow, like that that like that kind of DJ Rubbaban: That cadence. Right. Cause cu for me, yeah, which is good, and that's a style that kind of like to Caddey B: yeah, yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: me, like Slick Rick, Red Man, a lot of people have that. Red Man don't always do it live, but he's crazy freestyle. But when you do those double eye Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: cantras like that, it's hard to do that live. You know, you know, Busta. You know Busta got stiff spiff and he just he right there with him just killing it. Just killing it. He just killing. Yeah, yeah. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. Buster puts on the best show. Like seeing Buster, like if you ain't ever seen Buster like live, like that's that's definitely one of the ones. DJ Rubbaban: You know who else got a new one? Is Tiger. Tiger has a new one out called Starface. Is it Starface? Yeah, Starface. And it's kinda Caddey B: Yeah, that's that's his that's his alter ego. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, it's kinda like House, Pop, Euro. Caddey B: It's eighties. It's supposed to be like an eighties homage. I kinda DJ Rubbaban: Yes, no. Caddey B: like I kinda like it. DJ Rubbaban: It's kinda like he did that one for the money. And I didn't want to judge it. But on the same time, when you listen to the new Too Short album, he got a song on Too Short got a new album out, and it's good. It's good. It's good. Caddey B: Real good. Yeah. Two shorts two shorts banging on that one. That's that's some defin DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, and your boy Little John did a lot of the production on it. Caddey B: that's definitely some sir two short kinda DJ Rubbaban: And that single with E forty and Tiger on it, Tiger's killing it. Tiger's a good party Caddey B: Yeah, you d you don't know one. DJ Rubbaban: rapper, you know. You know, definitely a Caddey B: Yeah, you lo you love you some tiger. The kid the the kids be giving you flag on it. It would be like no, no, no DJ Rubbaban: No look look look You know I'm still disappointed about the game, man. I'm still disappointed about the game of YG, man. I really felt like that could have been a movement. I really feel like and dude I get it, we've all overplayed our hand when it comes to big performances and our careers, and we just kinda But the world was looking at that versus to see, okay, what are they gonna do? Cause you hear two sure talking about doing another versus with E40. And the first one was dope, you know, even though Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: one person looked a little tipsy, but this next one, if they if they let them do another one, it's gonna be crazy. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. You think that you think you think we'll get one for the left side? DJ Rubbaban: definitely, dude. Dude, I gotta mention this, dude. I gotta mention this and this shout-outs to the left side. So when I sit back and I listen to that Corrupt and Battle Cat album, Battle Cat I mean Corrupt and Battle Cat have a a album together that's out now. It's a single that's in video rotation and whatnot. It's about for me, it's probably about two or three strong songs. but I feel Caddey B: I'll give it three. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, I feel like corrupt needed Daz. And I understand the politics was going on with Snoop and Corrupted Daz right now. But he needed somebody with a certain kind of flow, because a lot of his tracks are party tracks. And how he raps, his cadence, they just don't seem like they It's not like dog food. It's not like dog food. Every time, every time I listen to Caddey B: think there's i there's anything like there's nothing like dog food 'cause I I mean we all we got wasn't like dog food. We all we got wasn't bad DJ Rubbaban: No, but anytime I listen to it, I know. Caddey B: either. DJ Rubbaban: Anytime I listen to a a track, I want to judge it and I go, dog food, dog food. You know what I mean? Cause you can't. Yeah, I mean, you somebody can walk in there and go, This song was what? And he goes, Dog food. Dog food. Dog food. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah, New York, New York. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, every song on that album was crazy. Caddey B: yeah. DJ Rubbaban: But it was a balance and corrupt, even though he had features on there, he had a couple features. It's still to me the balance of because his rap style is kinda talking too. It's kinda evolved to be more battle talking too. And so on these smooth Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: on these smooth tracks, he's like just talking. And I'm like, I don't know. I'm and I'm trying not to be too objective 'cause it's corrupt and battle cat and just the legacy and you know what mean? But Caddey B: It is. It is. I mean it's a West Coast I mean they're West Coast Titans. Like you can't But I expected I expected being that it's corrupt and Battlecat, I expected to be able DJ Rubbaban: Well fighting. Caddey B: to walk I I wanted to walk the whole album. DJ Rubbaban: Right. See? And that's I wanted that. I wanted that for the left. I wanted that for the left. Caddey B: But I didn't but I didn't but I but I didn't but I didn't get that. But I didn't get that. DJ Rubbaban: I and you know what I'm gonna say this and I'm gonna leave it a c I'ma leave it alone. I want y'all to comment in there and tell me listen to that album and tell us what you think about the corrupt and battle cat album. Because this is what I this is what my expectations was. I was hoping that this corrupt album would be Snoop Dogg's Blue Carpet Treatment, which is almost a perfect album to me. You know, that was a that was one of Snoop's to me, that was one of Snoop's best album outside of Doggy Style. The blue carpet treatment, it had soul, had who he was, he represented and then they helped him change his style. If you listen to after the intro, that first song, he it was a different cadence for Snoop on that song. A good producer would break Caddey B: yeah. DJ Rubbaban: that out in you, you know. Caddey B: He had everybody on that too. From Stevie DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, the blue carpet treatment. Caddey B: w from Stevie War to forty to I mean DJ Rubbaban: I wanted that for corrupt. I wanted corrupt to have a blue carpet treatment. You know what I mean? I wanted one for the left. You know what I'm saying? I wanted one for the left. Caddey B: There's so many artists that you know that are phenomenal MCs that don't have those albums. You know, that that like Jadakus, one of my favorite MCs, does he have a a a perfect album, a timeless album? Probably not. DJ Rubbaban: I can take I can take his singles and make at least three albums. I could Caddey B: You c Yeah, you can do a greatest hits for sure. DJ Rubbaban: take his singles and at least do three albums. Caddey B: Fabulous, same thing. DJ Rubbaban: No, to me Fablis had Fabless was kind of for the ladies. Did you listen to his Soul Food, his Soul Food albums that he did with Jada Kiss? Listen, I'ma send you some of those. Jada Kiss and Fab, they did like a Soul Found and he rapped over like his house. Caddey B: Well they th they did a Freddie versus Jason too that was good. DJ Rubbaban: That was good, but the Soul Fool ones, it's something I don't know the exact title, but something was Soul Food. Put it in the comments if you remember what that was. Those were tight. I'm gonna send you those. So you kinda you look, Caddey B: Yeah yeah yeah yeah. But there's you know, there's tons of art DJ Rubbaban: look you kinda you kinda sun in my boy Fabulous a little bit, huh? Caddey B: No, I like Fab, but I just don't think he had a whole complete album. DJ Rubbaban: He had a bunch that went gold and platinum though. Caddey B: He had a ton of singles, don't get me wrong. Like I would I had I DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, yeah. And that's what the album failed. Caddey B: I had some fabulous playing earlier, like DJ Rubbaban: Okay, okay. No, no, I'm gonna turn you on to this and you're gonna be like, Okay. Yeah. Caddey B: But I just can't think I can't think of a whole complete body like a whole body of work. It's it like it doesn't make it make up to to blue carpet. DJ Rubbaban: You ain't gonna you ain't gonna put I won't deny it. I'll be riding. Do you wanna remember that was his first single? Was that one with their dog? Which was very West Coast for East Coast artists. Caddey B: yeah, yeah. It ain't a hit if Nate Dog didn't spit. You know what I mean? DJ Rubbaban: Mm-hmm. Who else is out new Caddey B: yeah, yeah, no. DJ Rubbaban: right now? Who else is out new? Dave Eve. Caddey B: The gate like I like that Dave East DJ Rubbaban: That Dave East album, The Price of Payne. Caddey B: Yeah, it the one with him and DJ Rubbaban: Harry fraud or freed or Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: something. Be honest with that one, man. Be honest. You told me that would. Caddey B: Yeah, the hairy fraud. DJ Rubbaban: The objective. Caddey B: I like it. I think I think he got I think he got more in I think he evolved more as an MC. And I think those beats kind of fit him. DJ Rubbaban: I think those beats it's it's very boom bat. It's very East Coast Boom Bat. Caddey B: It is. Well yeah yeah yeah yeah. But I like some East Coast. DJ Rubbaban: Kinda remind me of a of a Nas album where you want Nas to you know, you want him to sample a a a break beat and Nas just Nas do he's great because he does what he wants to do. Caddey B: Yeah, he can do exactly what he wants to do. DJ Rubbaban: How many Nas albums would you say was good? Just right off the head. A number. Caddey B: Two DJ Rubbaban: man, we will be wrestling right now. We will be squabright. Two good knives albums? Caddey B: Complete complete. DJ Rubbaban: How many people got complete albums? You can't you can't compare that to Dog Food or or the first Caddey B: Maybe four, maybe four. DJ Rubbaban: Brother Lynch album. Caddey B: I I give Noah's probably four. DJ Rubbaban: How many you get fabulous? Would you even give five any? We wrong right now. Caddey B: Fab's got some Fab's got some singles. Fab's got some serious singles. DJ Rubbaban: Too short. Too short. What would you see I would say too short wise, maybe two of his albums was just okay and all the rest of was slapping. But I'm basing it off of me really enjoying two short's albums for what he what he brings Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: to the table. Caddey B: yeah. I like two short, so yeah, I'm gonna give it more. Probably. That n I mean also how many DJ Rubbaban: But you're gonna be more objective, but he's not a serious artist. Caddey B: how many albums is two short put out? DJ Rubbaban: I think like fifteen, sixteen, seventeen? Caddey B: I think he's closer to twenty. DJ Rubbaban: Okay. And you gonna give Nas too. Man. East Coast gonna be mad Caddey B: Four. DJ Rubbaban: at you. Give us a click in there, man. Give us a click. Look, we look okay, I'm gonna ask you this. If somebody if they if they Caddey B: I love I I DJ Rubbaban: was doing a versus and it was Nas and too short, who will win? Nas and too short. Caddey B: Too short. DJ Rubbaban: I didn't say that. Caddy B said that. Caddey B: The only only only reason why only reason why is because of blow the whistle. DJ Rubbaban: Now when we go viral over this and they talk bad about us, we being objective. There's no reality, only perception. Because Caddey B: yeah. DJ Rubbaban: you really said too short would be God's adverses. Caddey B: Nas is Nas is one of my fa Nas is one of my favorite East Coast rappers. But I think Two Short has more hits. How many hits does Nas have? Like hits, hits, that are gonna that you're gonna play at a at a wedding or at a club or DJ Rubbaban: But see, Caddey B: How many? DJ Rubbaban: I think, but see, I think because the history of the verses now, and we've had verses where it was underdogs, Nas would have to sing his singles with everybody, which would go crazy. All he had to do was say, Mary, Mary, live your life, girl. Dun, don't, don't. And people would be like, you know, he would just have to sync with his songs, right? And because he's Nas. And we look at him as a statesman, and then he would go into some kind Caddey B: He is. DJ Rubbaban: of freestyle, he would just have to do it right. Caddey B: Well, yeah, but you could say but that's how every single versus is. Like there hasn't been a perfect versus. DJ Rubbaban: I mean, really, what was the best versus to you? Caddey B: The Snoopin DMX DJ Rubbaban: I thought the one Caddey B: one. Snoopin' DMX was dope. DJ Rubbaban: But you could tell they respected each other. You could tell it was a respect they was in a studio. Caddey B: Yeah. Locks and and dip set. DJ Rubbaban: That to me, that probably, but the locks was the underdog on that one. And and they did their homework. They started sit doing their singles. Caddey B: See, I never thought that I never thought that they were they were I never thought that they were the underdog 'cause I was never a big dipset fan. DJ Rubbaban: But overall Dipset is way more popular and they have party songs. Caddey B: I always thought that they were annoying. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, see, I was a big dipset. I was both of them fan, but the locks, they got they had singles and they they played the crowd. Dude, think about it. Look, I'm gonna I'm gonna bring it into like Caddey B: Yeah. Yeah, they did. DJ Rubbaban: fighting. Being in a scenario where you the underdog, you just go in for it. You you make Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: your opponent, you let them know you have no fear, even though you scared. You know what I'm saying? And you do what you gotta do. You know, you hit the biggest dude. What's your uncle say? Caddey B: yeah. DJ Rubbaban: So you hit the biggest dude, and the other one's gonna get them legs wobbly, the other ones gonna shake. And the locks went in. They had no remember they was talking shit. Look at them, remember when they they stood behind each other, was walking around? And Sheik was just Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: Sheik was like, say something, say something. You know, Sheik got them guns, and they was all like army, you know, like green, and then they just hit them with dun dun dun dun dun dun dun dun. We was like, Caddey B: I mean Jadicus is, you know, one of those wordsmiths that's just he's punchy. So he's not the person that you really wanna like battle with. I'm waiting to see how this whole thing's gonna go with thirty-eight Special. DJ Rubbaban: But another another different kind of artist too, you know? Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: Did you see on Joe Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: and Joe Buddh's podcast when they got into a heated discussion about who's better, Luther Vandross or Stevie Wonder? And they was he he was hot and he was like, no, in certain tone, Caddey B: I still only found that. DJ Rubbaban: certain tones, and he was like, fool, his favorite his most favorite song he got from Stevie Wonder, which was creeping. But he sounded better. Caddey B: Mm-hmm. DJ Rubbaban: Luther Vandros sounded better doing Stevie's song. And so with music it's just subjective. But I can't believe you said that two short would be Nas and the versus. Caddey B: Only because of the the club songs. DJ Rubbaban: Who would beat who would beat Nas who would beat Jay-Z in a versus? If you could pick somebody to be with Jay-Z, who would beat Jay-Z? Because I don't think nobody would beat Snoop in a versus. Like, I mean, that DMX one didn't count. They was friends. But who who could beat Snoop in a versus in his own lane? Nobody. Who can beat Caddey B: Yeah. Nah. DJ Rubbaban: Jay Z? Think about it. Who could beat Jay-Z? In a versory. Caddey B: Like Jay, but I don't know. I I'm not gonna say that he's the greatest like DJ Rubbaban: But you see, that's the politics with Jay-Z. The perception is he's the greatest, and can nobody touch him in a versus. It can't be Nas, right? Can't. So who could really touch him? And the only person personally I think could get not get Jay-Z if they was living would be Tupac or Biggie. Tupac or Biggie, either one of them would murder him doing a versus if they were still living. But other than them two, Caddey B: think I think cube or face could get him. DJ Rubbaban: No, that he got the crowd. He got he got the movement. Q, Caddey B: No. DJ Rubbaban: you think you think Scarface couldn't get no Jay-Z? I'm not saying he's not a a a good rapper or equally good rapper, but you know. Who would even go against Faith? Caddey B: Never. DJ Rubbaban: Who would who would we even get to go against FaZe? Caddey B: Face it, he don't even I think face said he don't even want to do it. DJ Rubbaban: Anybody that you got to go against face at the end of it, they gonna come shake his hand 'cause he the go. They'd be like, Man, I hope I didn't disrespect you. Like, who could even go against him? Caddey B: I don't think anybody can go against face. DJ Rubbaban: Especially nobody in the South. Caddey B: No. I mean DJ Rubbaban: He's kinda wanted. Caddey B: him and Bun him and Bun B would have a fun time. DJ Rubbaban: That would okay, okay, Bum B, okay, okay. You know who it Caddey B: That would be that would be a fun word. DJ Rubbaban: you know who it took me a long time. I don't know if I should say it. I I'm not trying to be a hater, 'cause I respect his hustle. Remember when they said future was like the best rapper when he first came out? And I didn't even feel like he was a rapper. I felt like he was something of his own doing. And not until I went to a club and heard Future and listened to the young people. And remember you hear me talk about Future, like I respect Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: I respect his originalness. You know what I mean? It's like it's like the ugly girl at the club with green eyes and a pretty face, but she ugly. It's like I respect you, but I don't want to go home with you. You know what I mean? It's just different. It's just the unique it's just the uniqueness of it. You know? You know. Caddey B: always felt the same about like Jay Z. Like I've never felt like when Jay first came out I wasn't like he's like the best. I'm like, okay, is he mediocre like I've never they can hate me. They they can hate all they want. DJ Rubbaban: They gonna be hate they hate they hating on us today. They hate the they hating on us today. What about what about Jay Z and Drake? Drake would Caddey B: Jay Z all day. DJ Rubbaban: Jake would Drake would beat him in a versus cause it's by the who's the most popular? And J60. Caddey B: Yeah, but Drake's a I'll have to ble I'm DJ Rubbaban: But he got hit still. Caddey B: at the bleep I'm at to bleep that out, but DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, it's gonna be more powerful when you bleep it out though. But I mean he got his. All he gotta do is start singing. All he gotta do is start singing. You know he sold more records than anybody right now. Which is crazy. Since we put out that we interview we we did the little thing talking about his album. He sold more than anybody. Caddey B: I st I still don't I still don't see how. DJ Rubbaban: Right. That's the music biz. You just said two short would be J Nas and the versus. That's just being objective. Caddey B: I just think that I just think that Nas has more hits, like or that Two Short has more like more party hits, more club hits, DJ Rubbaban: Right. Caddey B: more things that people know. You know what I mean? DJ Rubbaban: Well future got hits. Who could go up against future? Look, you put future Caddey B: Little Wayne. DJ Rubbaban: look, future and corrupt. You put future and corrupt. Future would emulate corrupt. Caddey B: But just like we said when it came to game and YG, it all depends on the crowd. It all it all depends on the crowd. Because DJ Rubbaban: Man, I was looking I was always looking forward to that. Caddey B: because the young kids are gonna go for YG, old DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. Caddey B: heads are gonna go for game, you know, hip hop head, hip hop people who are like more into lyricists are gonna go for game. Other people like party scenes are gonna go for YG. So, DJ Rubbaban: Right, right, right. Caddey B: you know, it's it's all in the crowd, and that's how it's gonna go with anybody, with Nas, you know, everything. You know, just like Birdman and Master P. DJ Rubbaban: What did you think about that versus though? Caddey B: They was like, we needed we should have done this in in New Orleans. It's like, yeah, shoulda coulda woulda done a lot of things. Like Wayne should have been there, like I mean, there should have been a whole bunch of other people that should have been there. DJ Rubbaban: Turks should have been there. Caddey B: Yeah. Yeah, I mean, on both sides. DJ Rubbaban: And you know what we notice about the verses? They get drunk a lot too. Like or whatever substance. Caddey B: Some of do. DJ Rubbaban: So whatever the substance not all of but I'm saying they seem a little Caddey B: I mean it's a party. DJ Rubbaban: inebriated after a while. Caddey B: Yeah. But I mean you sh it should be work. You know what I mean? You should like you should go to work. You know what I mean? DJ Rubbaban: That's how the lock was. The locks was Caddey B: Yeah. They was locked in, you know what I mean? But then you had DJ Rubbaban: They was all locked in. Caddey B: you you you had Bone and and Three Six Mafia. DJ Rubbaban: What you think about that one? Come on, be objective. Caddey B: Yeah, I mean, I expected I expected it to go down the way it did. DJ Rubbaban: Did? You didn't think I thought Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: Bone was gonna get Caddey B: But DJ Rubbaban: Bone had more hits, see? That that's your that's your whole thing. Bone got more hits than three six. Caddey B: Yeah, but but I feel that three six is more respected and also bone DJ Rubbaban: Does that mean to the crowd though? Caddey B: also bone from what I've seen in person with them, they don't work well together all the time. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, yeah. We both seen that live. And I you know, no dig to them, but they not in think Caddey B: And and I think that ki I think that that k they ca that carried on stage. Like they had DJ Rubbaban: Right. Caddey B: an off night. I'll give it I'd say they had an off night. They wasn't in sync. You know what I mean? And I think that's what that's what hurt them in that versus. DJ Rubbaban: But I've seen them be in sync, but I've seen them not I've seen them like Caddey B: It DJ Rubbaban: backstage not even say nothing to each other and look and go out there and just do their show. You know. But the locks, they was in sync. They would look at each Caddey B: yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: other, they would look at each other like after a song, and and then somebody would throw a shot like at at like Jim Jones or one of them, and he would be like, shut up, fool, da-da-da-da. And Sheik would just be walking around not saying nothing. And then all of a sudden it would be like boom. And they would be like, because that's what you that's hip hop. That's the origin of hip hop. Is that element? Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. yeah, yeah. No. Yeah, you know I mean and and DJ Rubbaban: That element. That element, you know. Big Daddy Kane Big Daddy Kane and and Chris, it was o it was okay. I don't even know Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: who they said won with Chris and Big Daddy Kane. Caddey B: think that one was just more for the culture. I don't even think that one was really versus that's just kinda like the two short E forty one. Like, you know what I mean? That was just DJ Rubbaban: Right, right. It was more respect. Yeah, it was more respect. Yeah. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. You know what I mean? The Snoop and DMX one, that kinda had a little bit in it because, you know, DMX DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. Caddey B: is everybody with him is from the from the right and Snoop is from the left and they had their beef with corrupt DJ Rubbaban: Right. Caddey B: and you know what I mean, that whole thing. DJ Rubbaban: They both got the dog incorporated in their stuff. You know the you Caddey B: yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: know the verses that was the funniest to me was that R and B one with Ray J holding his baby, singing bad, going through a bipolar moment, Omorion, Caddey B: Couldn't even watch the DJ Rubbaban: Omorion eating watermelon, grinding on the ground. It was it was wild. Caddey B: We need some of these R and B like people like Ray J and O'Marion. They need to get in touch with Building Three Forty One 'cause Robert Van needs to sit down and and help these brothers out. DJ Rubbaban: Man, just you know, like I mean we all have moments in this business where you do do but but from that one, what's Omar not O'Mario but Mario wound up getting a new deal and then he came out with a s a single after that that went to you know that shot up because Omarion, who they thought was the underdog, only had one or two hits, he killed that versus. Mario killed that versus. Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: But if somebody get on get on there with Jacquees, Jacqueese is a beast. Jacqueese gonna sing your song and do your song over and kill it, but ain't nobody gonna know his song. Like Jacqueese is a beast. Shout out. Caddey B: Okay, yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: Shout out Joaquis, man. Shout out Jock Queens. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: Beyonce got a new single. It's cool. Caddey B: I saw something about that with Jay with Jay on it. Over over like a biggie over over a biggie track. DJ Rubbaban: With Jay on it. It's cool. The remix. I like the remix. Yeah, it's cool. I think we I think Caddey B: I I I ain't heard it yet. DJ Rubbaban: I feel like so many of the artists that are really big when they come out, they have such a rollout and money behind them and publicity behind them. Oftentimes you don't even want to listen to that. Wow, man, it's just Beyonce. But it's actually really good. You know what I mean? And you just go. Caddey B: I'll check it out tomorrow. DJ Rubbaban: And one of the things I think is kinda heated right now in the music business is AI. And it was like a little summit and I was watching it and they were saying every music studio I go in now, everybody using AI. And they asked one of the execs Caddey B: Mm-hmm. Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: like, How do you feel about that? He was like, What's wrong with it? We use it. It's making our artists better. So it's interesting to see. Remember when T Pain came I mean he wasn't the first one, but in this generation to Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: make that talk box popular, other than Zap, and it goes back Father, Caddey B: yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: you know, DJ Quick or whoever, but that version of it, future probably too. But remember everybody was against it? Jay made a song about auto tunes, and now we're doing AI. Caddey B: Death to auto tune. Yep, yep. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, which is you know what I mean, which is AI. It's a whole nother piece. Caddey B: Yeah, I mean and like Timberland, he put out that whole AI artist that he that he built. DJ Rubbaban: Crazy. It's crazy. Caddey B: You know, and it's just like They were my girl was telling me how she saw a thing how all EDM and all that stuff is all AI. Dubste DJ Rubbaban: it is? Caddey B: dub step EDM, like most of it's all AI now. DJ Rubbaban: And it's selling. Caddey B: yeah. Yeah, I mean festivals packing out. DJ Rubbaban: But what do they do when they do when they go do live shows? Are they Milly Caddey B: This DJ's. DJ Rubbaban: Vanilli? Are they Milly Vanilli? Caddey B: No, 'cause E D and and and all that stuff, it's all DJs. So all you're doing is just going up there and you have DJs playing music. DJ Rubbaban: Right, so you not so you performing in a different way. That's Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: wow. That's wow. Caddey B: So you you know what I mean, you just go out there and you just got you just going and you just playing all the different E DM stuff, it's all AI made. DJ Rubbaban: Right. And and I've heard some of the music. I mean you can just create that now. Caddey B: yeah. Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. Like I literally could just say, Tiny and TI got remarried. I'm sorry, Tiny, blah blah blah. Put it in AI and they'll make me a song. Which is crazy. Caddey B: yeah. And give it give it the the flavor of an escape beat with some new T I and produced by by by Skateport P. DJ Rubbaban: Exactly, exactly. That's wild Caddey B: It's DJ Rubbaban: dude. But shout out, man. Caddey B: I just wrote I just wrote somebody's album. Anybody puts that out there, I won't I want ten percent. Building three forty one. DJ Rubbaban: wanna peace, he wanna peace. But yeah, shout out to real love, tiny and T.I. man, getting getting remarried, doing a thing, man. Sixteen, seventeen years. Caddey B: Yeah. And shout out to everybody we was talking about too. We just talking, you know what I mean? It's like everybody DJ Rubbaban: I gotta say this too, B. Tell me, tell me how you feel about this. I I really feel like we talk about music and all that, but I feel like the level of negative when it comes to racial tensions, I really feel like people should keep their I don't wanna say thalls. I really feel like people should keep their racism in their house. Like I hate I don't know what the right word for it, but I feel like you know back in the days, you just didn't you just didn't talk like now, like dude, I was in line, right? I was in line. I ain't gonna say the score. I was in line, no peep game. Caddey B: It's those red hats. It's those red hats, man. They made it cool. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, dude. So look. I thought you was taking a shot, but yeah, I get it. Double entendre. So dude, I'm in line. Caddey B: Mm. DJ Rubbaban: And it was this Hispanic. lady with two like like teenage daughters that obviously was like Spanish, some Spanish, and they had a kid and the kid looked mixed. The kid definitely look African. Mixed, right? So I'm in line and it was a it was a a European I'll just say European couple in front of me and that and they was almost at the register. And so the gr the lady goes Caddey B: From the Caucus Mountains. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah and the lady said No hun I I I I I think the baby's very urban. The the baby's cute but I think the baby's like black and Mexican or something. And the girl, one of the teenagers, turned around with her phone and said, No, we're from another country, right? And had her phone and was like talking to the lady, and the lady was like, No, just wondering, because your baby's cute, but I thought it was black. And I'm behind I'm behind the lady, and they're doing their little thing. Dude, I wanted to put my little stuff down and just leave. Like, man, I just want people to leave their racism at home, man. Love somebody. Show some peace. Listen to Marvin Gaye what's going on. Like, man, listen to that first dog food album. Like, it's just, I think this cold that this moment we in right now, people feel like they Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: can just say whatever. Just whatever. Caddey B: yeah. Yeah, no. DJ Rubbaban: Stop saying it. We know who people Caddey B: Nah DJ Rubbaban: are. Yeah. Caddey B: They got no fear no more. They got no fear no more, you know? I I I DJ Rubbaban: No. Caddey B: followed it this one page on Instagram. I love it. And it's it's just leave black people alone. Just leave us alone. DJ Rubbaban: That's it. Like, we not even talking about all this. Like you know who's talking about Caddey B: like DJ Rubbaban: it is these young these young white kids is on all these blogs just telling I have to turn that stuff off so much it'd be so negative sometimes. It just be it's just too Caddey B: yeah. DJ Rubbaban: much. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. No, it's just DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, it's just too much, but Caddey B: it like I said, it's it's they made it cool with those red hats, like DJ Rubbaban: Shout out to Peace, y'all. Shout out to Peace. I ain't dissing nobody. But the young girl just took out her phone and just started talking mess to the white girl. And the white girl was like, I mean, I thought your baby was black. And I'm right behind her. You know, I was like, this is wow. What's going on in this? I feel like we in Bizarro world, OG. I feel like we in bizarro world. Caddey B: Where was you where was your No, it's it's it's the Idiocracy movie. That movie DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, that's what it is. Caddey B: that movie Idiocracy was just I mean, it was a glimpse of the future. And now we live in that. DJ Rubbaban: Do we don't even know like when they Caddey B: It's crazy. DJ Rubbaban: say something, when they say something about what's going on, we don't even know if it's true. Caddey B: No. DJ Rubbaban: We you know what I'm saying? If I call you and say Tiny Caddey B: And in twenty twenty six DJ Rubbaban: and TI broke up, you'll be like, I don't believe it. Caddey B: It's twenty twenty six and we have access to all of this information and you can't trust any of it. DJ Rubbaban: That's wild. Caddey B: You know what I mean? It's like it's it it's so much different than you know, before you know, like when when we first met and I wa and I was young with all them kids in the back of that orange dots and you know what I mean? It DJ Rubbaban: Right. There you go. I love that. Man, I wish I could buy me one of them, man, and leave it in my garage and fix you have bead in that too. Caddey B: And you had your y you had your red little Nissan the Sentra it DJ Rubbaban: that's what I had I didn't have a low low or nothing? I didn't have a low low. Caddey B: You had the B W and you had the Lolo was parked, I think it was hidden. DJ Rubbaban: okay, okay, okay. Why you can't when you tell your story, Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: make you know, make my you know how people tell their stories. Remember look, remember when Vince was like, I was Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: sitting on on three reel motion, brother. You walked up and I had a bad one in the backseat and it was cocaine all on the seat. Yeah, that dots and dude, that dotson to me was a moment. You know when you look at somebody and go, damn. Caddey B: With the broken seat and and the side lean back. And I DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. Caddey B: had to lean back, not trying to be cool, but just cause the seat was broke. DJ Rubbaban: Real talk, real talk. Yeah. But now that made Caddey B: You know. DJ Rubbaban: you look, don't get my car dirty, move your feet, everything clean, the beat is crisp. Look at you. The AC blowing Caddey B: yeah. DJ Rubbaban: cold. I don't think none of us had AC back then. Caddey B: Nah nah. DJ Rubbaban: I think I may be my fourth maybe my third or fourth card until I got AC. You know what I'm saying? Caddey B: That BMW you had, you had A C in there. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, I have yeah. I mean once you know, once once I was doing my thing and traveling you know, I was doing my thing, you know. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But Caddey B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Still had to still had to move the dishwasher over to the sink, but it was okay. DJ Rubbaban: Man, you gotta s you gotta keep a little bit of where you come from, you know? You gotta keep a little bit of where you come from. I just I just I just hope we deal with this moment. Caddey B: yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah. No. But it's like, but back then it was like back then it was more simple. You know what I mean? I I pick up the phone, I call you. Hey, rubber, can I come over? Can I go through the records? yeah, yeah, yeah. I got time, I got time tomorrow. Okay. Come over. We just sit there for an hour. No phones. We just sit there just running through music. DJ Rubbaban: But look too though, people it was easier for people to get their ass beat back then too. So you didn't say as much, Caddey B: yeah. DJ Rubbaban: you didn't talk as much mess as people do now. You know what I mean? Like people talk an absorbent amount of mess now. Like you knew somebody was gonna see you. People aren't social like that. People aren't out like that. And so Caddey B: I think what it was is back then there was no proof. Now they'll record you and they'll sue you. They're gonna go viral from you beating their ass. So, you know what I mean? Like you didn't wanna sit there and turn and say nothing to them people 'cause somebody gonna record you and then you're gonna be the angry black man yelling at these two white people in in Walmart. DJ Rubbaban: The teenage girl turned around with her phone. She turned around with her phone Caddey B: Be it. DJ Rubbaban: and said something to the lady. And the lady was like, The lady didn't even care though. She Caddey B: Instantly phone phone. DJ Rubbaban: she didn't even care. She was like, I thought your baby was black. Which what does that matter either? You know, it's wild. Caddey B: No, that that's that's the cocaity of it. DJ Rubbaban: But in but think about it, in the early two thousands, especially the late nineties, on down, I don't know if she would have Caddey B: yeah. DJ Rubbaban: had enough energy to even say that. You know? Caddey B: No. DJ Rubbaban: You know. Caddey B: It wouldn't have been a it probably wouldn't have been a even a thought. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, I mean it wasn't phones like that, but you know, even so, like, yeah, yeah. I just I just the moral of that, and the only reason I brought that up is I I want people to keep they keep their racism back in their house. Love, love somebody. We more alike than we not alike, really. We more alike than we not, all of us. So good and bad people. Good and bad people, rich and poor. No AC in your car Caddey B: yeah. Definitely. Definitely. I was watching the DJ Rubbaban: and AC. Caddey B: I was watching the Club Shay Shay with Afro Man last night. And so he got ninety something acres over in DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. Caddey B: Ohio. And he said he wants to build, you know, a a a city for for Afro people. He said, but he doesn't want and he hasn't used the word, he hasn't used the N word since probably two thousand. DJ Rubbaban: He's very unique. He's a unique and he go he can tour off that poem forever. Caddey B: He don't he don't wanna hear it, he don't wanna and on DJ Rubbaban: I like that. Caddey B: his on his land, he don't want it to be said, nothing you can come here, you know, I just want love, peace, and you can say that word on the other side of the fence, just not on this fence. DJ Rubbaban: And but he's also an admitted gang member from Hray Gangster, one of the biggest gang from Southern California. So you can evolve, Caddey B: Mm-hmm. DJ Rubbaban: you can be do better and be better. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: You know, and he had a few hits. You know? Yeah, I tell people. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. Palmdale that DJ Rubbaban: Dude. And and and and one of the other jobs I do, I tell you I ask young people, especially young men, like, what do you want to do? How do you wanna be? How do you wanna be presented? How do want people to see you? Talk to me. The things you do now will kinda create who you will be later. Like, will you always be kinda Afro Man? That's just one thing Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: he is. He's probably a father, a business person. I mean he won that lawsuit when he sued the police department, remember? So Caddey B: Yeah. Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: obviously he's more than a thug, you know what I mean? Shout out Afro Man. And maybe on that day he didn't get out, Caddey B: yeah. DJ Rubbaban: you know? Caddey B: Maybe. Maybe. DJ Rubbaban: So he don't want you to say the N-word, huh? Caddey B: Nah, he don't want to be around it. DJ Rubbaban: And he's a character too. Even at court even when he was in court, i he was like on some other Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. You should watch it. I I I just started watching it so I'm I'm barely into it, but it it's it it it it's something. It's something, you know. He eat like you said. DJ Rubbaban: I gotta watch I just seen clips. I just seen clips. You know another one that we brought up with Ray J. Like Ray J been blessed. He didn't have so many opportunities. He didn't reinvented himself so many times. I just hope he makes it Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: through all these. Cause notice he comes he comes back. Like somebody looking out for Ray J. Caddey B: Hey do hey do hey do what's up with all these R and B singers that constantly going through it? I mean I get it, like you s you know, you you s DJ Rubbaban: Yeah yeah yeah. Caddey B: sing s soulful, painful music, but DJ Rubbaban: Right. Caddey B: Tyrese, he you know, he he going through it like DJ Rubbaban: They all need a mood stabilizer, huh? They all need something to take that edge off. Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. I mean they not eating like they used to eat. Cause 'cause people not buying, they not listening to RB music. They listen to pop music in country right now. You know, RB is not as big as it was. Caddey B: Yeah, and and Neo so Neo Soul's making a comeback too. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, yeah. But K pop is killing Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: them all. Caddey B: Yeah, somewhere. DJ Rubbaban: No, they they run in they run in the industry. K-Pok and country. But they stole that old soul, R and B. They use 404s, Teddy Riley, all of them from back in the days. And then with AI, Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: they can just tailor it. And when you listen to R and B soul music even from the nineties and two thousand. They study the art form. All art forms. Like if you really look at their culture, the Asian culture, not all of them, but the a overall, they really appreciated Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: even hip hop. Like the hip hop DJs that I would know from Caddey B: Mm-hmm. DJ Rubbaban: like you know, China, you know, Chinese ones, Japanese ones. They would just let's do a session. Let's just DJ. And they would just, why you turn your hand like this? Okay, why did you play this record with this record? I was like, Well, when I'm playing, I kind of watch the crowd. And if the crowd ain't filling it, everybody know this one. And this one, I got a lot of filler space, so I can just cut it in if it's a dry. Like we would be talking DJ talk, and then they would call me over a couple days later and be like, listen to this. And I'll be like, you know, because They wanna know. Like, think about breakdancing. They it's no, yeah, Caddey B: Yeah. Lowrider culture, all of it. DJ Rubbaban: think about it's no, it's it's no major black breakdancers. It's no major Puerto Rican, and they started it. The blacks are the Puerto Ricans, and it's it's part Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: of the Olympics now. And they're killing it. They're killing Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: it. Shout out. That's why we should all be together. That's why we we more liked that we not. Come on. Keep it in your house. And I hate to say keep it in your house. I we shouldn't have it at all, but it's just part of the beast, man. It's just part of what it is. Caddey B: It is, it is 'cause DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. Caddey B: 'cause of ego and pride and being uneducated. I think I think DJ Rubbaban: No keeping us divided, Caddey B: Biggest part of racism. DJ Rubbaban: but keeping us divided helps the other people do what they want to do anyway. When you divide people, they fight amongst themselves and then the other people go in and do what they want to do. You know, like take healthcare away and all those other things. So I mean this this ploy has been done over and over and over, but I just want people to just just love each other. Don't put that in the comments. But I do, like I I'm Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: I'm curious to see. Like I said, you know, we're more alike than not. You know what I'm saying? It's good music and bad music. Caddey B: yeah. Yeah, there is. All all all music, you know, there's good and bad in it. All DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. Caddey B: genres, you know, it's like DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. Caddey B: Not everybody can feel, you know, the same things and that's fine. But you don't have to hate on it. DJ Rubbaban: You really said, you really said too short with getting odds Caddey B: I mean, I hate country. I I did. DJ Rubbaban: in a in a versus. Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: Shout out. Total too short. Caddey B: I just said I just said he's got more hits. He's got he's got a bigger body of work than Nas does. DJ Rubbaban: You think so? Caddey B: Albums. How many albums does Nas have? In the comments. How many alb DJ Rubbaban: He has a whole bunch too. I don't think he got twenty. I don't think he got twenty, but Caddey B: How and how two short's been doing it longer. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, he's been doing it longer. Yeah, he's been doing it longer. What about little Kim? Caddey B: Two short two short was one of the first like to get signed major on the West Coast. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, he was. He was in the Bay. Yeah, the major artists in the Bay. Yeah, for sure. And he still got he's Caddey B: Yeah. Like DJ Rubbaban: still doing it. Caddey B: yeah, and he's he just dropped an album last week. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, that that's the one I'm talking about. And I think little John is on there, but Caddey B: Yeah, you know what I mean? And he and and he dropped one at the beginning of the year too. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, yeah. Getting all that independent money. Caddey B: You know what I mean? So it's like and one of the things about and that's not even that's not even talking about his his side projects that he's done, you know, two short presents this, two short presents that. Just his own albums. He has more albums than Nas. DJ Rubbaban: But that's more the yeah. Dude, I can't even talk to you about this being in the same category. I feel like I feel like my my hip hopness, I'm I'm like, even this conversation, I feel like if we was on on on Joe's podcast, we would be arguing right now. But being objective, I get what you mean. Caddey B: And I love Nas. I love Nas. I think I think Nas is better than Jay Z. DJ Rubbaban: Okay, okay. I think overall for me Nas is like that first album, remember they air they talk about that first album on the East Coast, like Nas's first album, like it's the best album, but it only really sold gold back then. It wasn't that big. But I see Caddey B: No, they say that that's th they say that that's you know, that that compares to our chronic. But I don't I don't think that you can't compare that to chronic. DJ Rubbaban: Dog food in 20 years when you listen to the production in dog food by the dog pound. It's still a masterpiece. And that's why we can I go Caddey B: Yeah, definitely. DJ Rubbaban: back to that album with Corrupt and Battlecat. Two really good artists, but this album, maybe they made it for their fans that wanted to just hear they didn't want to stretch outside of their fan base. You know. Caddey B: Maybe, I don't know. I'm a fan and I you know, I felt it lacked. DJ Rubbaban: Right. Shout out Onyx. Caddy's gonna listen to that Onyx album too by the next time we we plug in. The music was good. Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: I'm listening to it. But again, I'm ready for Slam Park 2026. And if you want to listen to Slam, Caddey B: Ha ha. DJ Rubbaban: you listen to their first album. You see what I'm saying? Caddey B: That was the first cassette that I stole was at Onyx Slam, the DJ Rubbaban: See Caddey B: mall in Oceanside. DJ Rubbaban: See? See? And now he go to church on Sundays. And listen to EDM. You know? And look, and he thinks Scarface can beat anybody in a versus. I don't Caddey B: There you go. DJ Rubbaban: even know who we who we would put with Scarface. It would probably be, like you said, Bun B. And it would be fri it would be a friendly competition. Caddey B: yeah, yeah. Now that would just be for fun, you know. DJ Rubbaban: 'Cause I don't think Willie D and Scarface get along right now, right? They kinda go off and on Caddey B: I don't know DJ Rubbaban: anyway. I I don't think they getting along right now. Caddey B: Who knows? DJ Rubbaban: Right. No, they get into it like any Caddey B: Who knows? But DJ Rubbaban: group. Caddey B: but like who like like who would you put with APOL and MJ G? DJ Rubbaban: one of those kind of groups like from that era. Like you gotta respect the eras kinda. Like you can't nobody Caddey B: Okay, so who would you put against Outcast if you could get Andre but you know DJ Rubbaban: I would probably put Goody Mob and Outcast. I would put Goody Mob and Outcast. Both of them would really do well. But I Caddey B: That's the same click though. That's the same DJ Rubbaban: mean, but I think equally putting Outcast and that Dungeon family putting out cast and putting them on there too. Cause both of them got major hits. Could you imagine when when it starts going drrrr and they start singing? hootie who and all that man, that would be crazy. The catalog would go up, they could do shows. Now, if Andre I don't know if Andre 3000 would even show up, but if they got him, Big Boy would probably want to do it. That would be crazy. Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: What albums are like any of those outcast albums? Even now? How can you pair anything right now to those outcast albums? Even the one even the album Caddey B: Again. DJ Rubbaban: you didn't like. You know. Caddey B: I think the only one I didn't care for was just the Idlewild thing. DJ Rubbaban: Right. Right. It's Caddey B: It had like a few tracks on it, but like other like overall, you know. DJ Rubbaban: But maybe that's Jay Z's four four four. Like that that I keep trying to listen to that four four four again. I'm tryna I'm trying to li I'm trying to be more objective. Caddey B: Listen to it. I listened. I listened to it again. It's good. I'll give I I I like it more now than I did when it first came out. DJ Rubbaban: I feel the same way. Caddey B: I don't think it's the masterpiece that it gets hyped up to be. It's a good album. DJ Rubbaban: Right. But but you know a lot of artists Caddey B: But it's I don't I don't feel it's a DJ Rubbaban: act like you can't say nothing about that album, like, man, that's the holy grail. Caddey B: Yeah, and I guess I mean it all goes back to, you know, it's all about perception, like you said, you know, and it's all in how DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. Caddey B: how you feel it. You know what I mean? Like Like for me, like you can't touch dollars and cents, DJ Quick. DJ Rubbaban: Right. Right. that that album right there, that was his to me that was almost like his best album. The one when he was on Death Road with Sug executive produced that one, like he really Yeah, he was coming out of something. And he was more gangster. Caddey B: Yeah. I think that I think that's DJ Rubbaban: I think that one was the most gangster one he put out, huh? Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Should should put a battery in his bag. Caddey B: Yeah, I mean he was taking shots at A, A was taking shots at E, he was taking shots at everybody. DJ Rubbaban: Bye. Caddey B: But the production on it was probably h like I think it was probably DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. It was it was almost perfect. Caddey B: his Yeah. Yeah, I think that was a masterpiece for him. DJ Rubbaban: It was almost perfect. Yeah. But a lot of artists have had Caddey B: For sure. DJ Rubbaban: those moments. Say like Kanye, right? I was I was listening to some Kanye. To me, Kanye's first four albums, I love all. Once he got eight eight heartbeats, it was just singles once in a while. But die hard Ye fans, you can't say nothing about Ye. You gotta just love everything. Even if he just put out an album with noise, it's perfect. And he birthed so many people like him after that, Travis Scott, all these other artists came out in his his kind of vibe. So I feel like Drake Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: Drake and who Drake is, even though he's come from other rappers, we will get new Drake's. Whether it's a a AI Drake, it'll be somebody else that comes in that sings good and raps and probably light skin. That's more acceptable. Caddey B: I hope not. I hope not. DJ Rubbaban: It's gonna happen. It's gonna happen. Yeah, yeah. Cause I think Drake's run is not over. Drake gonna have a few more albums. That's gonna be big. Yeah. It's gonna be a few more albums. Caddey B: Yeah, you know, I mean to each their own. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, yeah. TI came back and had a a banger. His album is good. Caddey B: Yeah, but I mean DJ Rubbaban: It's not massive, it's not culturally moving the thing, but I'm quite sure it's sell it and it's a good overall a good album. Caddey B: I mean that single was that single moved DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. Caddey B: the needle, you know, DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. Caddey B: number one everywhere. DJ Rubbaban: Right. And this through Grand Hustle, his label, but I'm quite sure somebody else is pushing it. You know what I mean? It's just the nature of the beast. Yeah, Empire's is a indie but a big indie, so yeah. Caddey B: I think it's on Empire. I think it's on Empire. Yeah. Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. Caddey B: Yeah. But I mean Yeah. I'll leave Drake alone. DJ Rubbaban: What about what about female? So I gotta give a shout out to my girl Yo Yo. It was her birthday over the weekend a couple days ago. She dropped a single. Dude, I go Caddey B: And she dropped a single. She dropped a single. She coming back? Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: look. Yo Yo used to work at McDonald's, man. Yo Yo used man. I think I think yo I think when I was going up Caddey B: I I worked I worked at I worked at McDonalds, so you know, I've done that. DJ Rubbaban: I think when I was going to El Camino College, was she going to El Camino College? Did she work at that? But sh Yo Yo is a good person, dude, and it's good to see her continue her career. I remember when she opened up for Rakim and Eric B when they did their tour years back. It's just good to see her, you know. You know she used to live in Bloodhood too. She went to Washington, right? Which is in the Cripp neighborhood, but she lived in Devil Lane Hood. And so and then her whole crew was Crips, right? But we're gonna keep it positive. We're gonna keep it positive. Shout out yo yo, beautiful, she had them green eyes back in the days, just a sweetie. Yeah. Shout out Jinx, Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: all of them. Yeah, yeah. Caddey B: She one of those ones that, you know, only certain people give her credit, but she should get more credit than what she you know. DJ Rubbaban: No, she's a sweetie, and she's found the thing about Yo Yo, Yo Yo's found found a way to get her knit, and because she has really good energy, she's in rooms other people ain't in rooms. Cause you see it, I've seen it. Like some people, some Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: of those old rappers, they just get in shows doing fifteen hundred, doing festivals. Yo Yo is touring. Caddey B: yeah. DJ Rubbaban: Yo-yo is on doing all like yo-yo's been making. And then remember she did TV. She was Key Lolo on Martin. Like she, you know, she was in Caddey B: Mm-hmm. DJ Rubbaban: well, she was in Boys in the Hood. Like she was in a bunch of movies too. Like, Caddey B: yeah. DJ Rubbaban: man. And she's still looking good and thick. Man. Man. Man. Shout out, man. I got a few yo-yo stories. Caddey B: Glad that the fee I'm glad that the female legacy artists are coming back as well. Cause salt and pepper DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. Caddey B: are coming back, you know, they was just on sway and DJ Rubbaban: Don't don't don't feel that a single with somebody too right now. Caddey B: and she got a single out, you know what I mean? She did those she did the those bars that she put out and then she kept dropped a single and Yeah, so it's good for like, you know, for that. DJ Rubbaban: And culturally, it's just harder for women in this business. And so for you to sustain Caddey B: yeah. DJ Rubbaban: and still be relevant, the same with MC Light. Like she's still in the game. She's still behind the scene Caddey B: Yeah. yeah. DJ Rubbaban: doing stuff. she's doing all the voice. Yeah. Caddey B: Still hosting, still doing stuff. She put out her album last year or at the beginning of the year. She put out an album. DJ Rubbaban: Dude, you who had a major I had a major crush on Queen Latifah back in the day. Queen Latifa had a presence tour, and Queen Latifa, she just had this presence tour, and to meet her in person and just around her, she has this this this aura, this nice Caddey B: You can tell. DJ Rubbaban: aura. And y and Yo-Yo was nice like that too. But I mean, she was just more like we more age appropriate, but That East Coast and back in the days and that whole crew Caddey B: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: when they would come to the arenas, when they would come to shows, when they would come and do the music thing, she was always just a nice lady, just seemed like she'll go off on you if she had to, but cool, gave you eye contact. Again, somebody that developed relationships, kept relationships, nice, presents, made movies, transition. Shout out to Queen Latifa. So you know what I mean? Just you know, shout out Caddey B: yeah, yeah. And still a spitter. DJ Rubbaban: shout out to to the Queen. And that album Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: with UNI TY on it, every song was dope. that whole album. Who you calling a UNI TY that whole album. The first one was was was man man. No female rappers that Caddey B: Yeah, yeah, yeah, queens. DJ Rubbaban: you How do you feel about Lil' Kim? Caddey B: Lokim's good. She got some you know. DJ Rubbaban: Do you feel like everybody stole her style? Megan the stallion? Caddey B: In in a ver in the ver in in the verses I think I would take Foxy Brown 'cause I think Foxy Brown had a DJ Rubbaban: She was more of a harder c she her style was just more you. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, I'm taking Lil' Kim. Look, I'm taking I'm taking Lil' Kim. And you know who I'm going to get. And we're going to the island. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, Caddey B: No. DJ Rubbaban: yeah. I don't know if I'll take him to the island, but Lil' Kim seemed like a lot of work. You know what I mean? Lil Kim Caddey B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: seemed like she a Gemini. She seemed like she got different personalities. You know, but she changed the game. Caddey B: yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. She did. She did her thing. DJ Rubbaban: Like what do you think about like Gorillas and Lottos? Do you feel like they changed the game any or add to the game since they kinda was birthed from Foxy Brown and Lil' Kim anyway? Cause both all of them come from that tree. Caddey B: They they do. And I think I think the other one that we forget about that I think cause she did she was, you know, locked up was the brat. And when she and when she first came out, when she first came out, I had I thought DJ Rubbaban: Right. First platinum first platinum wrapper female. Caddey B: she was I thought I was like, man, she fine as hell when she first came out. DJ Rubbaban: that whole album remember everybody was playing that album and it had hella bass in it. yeah, yeah. And then I'm not a weed smoker, but Caddey B: Functified yeah. So so DJ Rubbaban: I love weed music. I love weed music. And everything, she was like a a Snoop, a version of Snoop. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, definitely. It's and and you know what I know I can't think of none right now, but it's so many other female spitters. You know, like you know who I really used to like? Listen to their album was Boss. Boss had an album out in the nineties. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: She did deeper, but that whole album was crazy. That whole Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: out go listen to go listen to her. Go listen to her. Boss. Caddey B: And your girl sugar tea. DJ Rubbaban: Sugar, sugar. sugar still be on the internet. Man Caddey B: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: it's a lot. What about old girl that was from 36 Mafia? What was her name? She just passed away. Caddey B: Gangsta Bull. DJ Rubbaban: Gangsta Boo. Gangsta Boo was dope. Did you listen to that track where they use that NWA beat? Dun dun dun Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: with Gangsta Boo, Foxy Brown, and who somebody else was Caddey B: Yeah. yeah. DJ Rubbaban: over there. O Girl from No Limit. Old Girl from No Limit. Don't sleep on her. Mia X kinda really Caddey B: Me A X. yeah. DJ Rubbaban: Mia X really represented on that on that versus. Like she was Caddey B: She won the versus. Mia X won the versus. Yeah. Yeah, no, that was all Mia X. Yeah. What'd you think of that mix for DJ Rubbaban: She won the versus. yeah. yeah. That was me. Put in the comments. Caddey B: with with all the with all the new all the new females that I put out? DJ Rubbaban: yeah, your list. Now, who would you say is the the the leader of the of this new school right now? Caddey B: I'm feeling that Princess Nokia. I think she's the hardest DJ Rubbaban: Why though? Why? Caddey B: On that on on that on that on that list, that blue velvet, go listen to that blue velvet and tell me that she's DJ Rubbaban: All right. Caddey B: not a spitter. DJ Rubbaban: The beat is good too? Are you are you judging it Caddey B: I mean like yeah. DJ Rubbaban: off beat, substance, content, what? Okay? Caddey B: Both. Just just just listen to it. You go and like actually listen to it. Listen to the lyrics. DJ Rubbaban: Now what's she talking about? Caddey B: Listen to the lyrics. DJ Rubbaban: She ain't just talking about killing how good her stuff Caddey B: Mm mm. DJ Rubbaban: is. Caddey B: Nah nah nah there's there's some stuff on there. What DJ Rubbaban: Okay. Okay. Caddey B: else? What else? That DJ Rubbaban: We got another Foxy Brown in in that in that list. Caddey B: I think I think she I think she's right there, yeah, for sure. DJ Rubbaban: So she would be the new Foxy Brown, okay. Caddey B: Yeah, I would give her that. Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: Okay. Caddey B: And then, you know, you got fat. She killin' it. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. Now you think she'll get her Caddey B: Fat, you know what I mean? DJ Rubbaban: exposure though? Caddey B: I think so. I think she's gonna get it. DJ Rubbaban: 'Cause a lot of times you gotta be up under a male artist to really get it. Yo Yo was under Ice Cube, Caddey B: And fast under under Toby. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, yeah, yeah, okay, okay. And then you know, all of was under somebody bigger, by male standards, you know. Caddey B: yeah, yeah, yeah. Paris Knights is good too. She she's a spitter. DJ Rubbaban: Wh where's she from? Caddey B: When I say that she's from the bay, but I can't really find out where she really from. Like I've been looking at it, but I'm not getting all the info on her. But everybody's st but but everybody's been talking about her. DJ Rubbaban: It w it's a lot of Bay Area. There used to be a lot of Bay Area feet in the rappers. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. Yeah. And I s I still think Scar Lip is one that you really gotta watch out for. DJ Rubbaban: What about that white chick that you that had a that you was rapping back in the day that was on T I labeled. What was her name? She look Caddey B: Iggy Azalea? DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, she looked like old girl from the white chicks from that movie. She Caddey B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. There's another there's another wife girl, Sophie Hunter she spit. DJ Rubbaban: She good? Caddey B: Yeah? DJ Rubbaban: Sophie Hunter? Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: Y'all hear that, y'all. Put in the comments. Caddey B: I'm pretty sure I'm pretty sure she white I'm pretty sure she white track called Cups too. But DJ Rubbaban: Sophie Hunter, y'all, check that out. Caddey B: I'ma post I'ma I'ma upload the list on on online on Apple and s and Spotify for everybody. 'Cause this is the second time we was talking about it. Mm-hmm. DJ Rubbaban: And then I want you to write in there too. Write in there too. Put in the comments. Do you think that too short and Nas should do a versus? Who you think will win? And you know what, dude? I mean, it's the same thing like going back to Joe Button's them talking about if Stevie Wonder and Luther. It's really objective. I mean, Stevie has a bigger catalog, Caddey B: yeah. DJ Rubbaban: he's a GOAT. Luther Vandross made his big hits off of singing other people's songs, even though he was a great artist. He made other people he made other people's songs sound better. But I mean, Stevie is such a Caddey B: Big Luther and Little Luther. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. And and think of Caddey B: You know? DJ Rubbaban: you know how the world would feel if Nas and Two Short did a versus and he killed them? we in Bizarro World though. We in Bizarro World anything could happen. Caddey B: Right? You know? DJ Rubbaban: We got elected officials right now that's supposed to be dead, and people said they hiding them, and it's all kind of crazy stuff going on. It's all kind of Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: crazy stuff going on. Remember when everybody was saying Tupac wasn't really dead? Caddey B: Yeah. I mean we voted in a Cheeto i in in the office. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. This is wild. Wait till this Caddey B: They DJ Rubbaban: AI stuff gets good, to where we're going to AI concerts with old artists from every genre. man, I'm going to a concert next week, an AI concert, man. It's gonna be so-and-so. It's gonna be a Yeah. And you know Caddey B: Tupac and Prince and and DJ Rubbaban: we would go. We would be like, you know what, that one was good. This AI is crazy. Caddey B: it's gonna be virtual. You just gonna have to put on the goggles and you just gonna sit there. Sit there in your living room looking like this. Looking like Stevie Wonder. Looking like Stevie DJ Rubbaban: Well I I seen look, I seen on the news that they was protesting about in your city them putting AI like you know, those big computers somewhere 'cause it makes it hot. Caddey B: But yeah. Yeah, talking about the water and stuff. And the city was like, We didn't get no thing on that. Like, that's just people talking. DJ Rubbaban: But the AI is only gonna get bigger and bigger. Y Y'all got that big dam out there? Y'all got that big dam out there? They can throw some at the bottom of that? Caddey B: I don't think so. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. Caddey B: Nobody wants to come out here into the country. DJ Rubbaban: Man, that ain't the country no more. I ain't the country. I ain't the country. Caddey B: Chico y they keep shutting stuff down. You know, Amazon tried to come out here, Amazon had to go to the DJ Rubbaban: they do? Caddey B: next town. But they they out in the next town over, they out in Oreland. 'Cause they didn't DJ Rubbaban: they and Or live? Caddey B: want here. Yeah. Yeah, 'cause this town this town keeps shutting stuff down. Like they don't want remember how they remember when they tried to do DJ Rubbaban: Well they don't want it they don't want it to grow. They don't want it to keep growing. They gotta slow the process. You wanna keep the purest. You Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: wanna the reason why people come to small towns is for a reason. If you wanna be in San Francisco, you go to San Francisco. Caddey B: Remember when they tried to do the soup when they tried to do the Walmart Supercenter? When they tried to do the Walmart Supercenter, they wouldn't let that go. 'Cause Target was all up and up in arms saying, no, 'cause if they stop selling food then that means we're not gonna be able to we're not gonna be able to fight and Winco's right over here. And so as soon as Walmart couldn't do that, what does Target do? They get rid of their nursery center and they start selling food. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, yeah. Caddey B: And they put in produce and lettuce and all that stuff. DJ Rubbaban: They took away the D I A I and A and all that. And then they released Jay Z Reasonable Doubt, his first album. It's been at Target since last week. And Caddey B: Mm-hmm. DJ Rubbaban: forty bucks, dude. Forty bucks for an album thirty years old. That's crazy. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: That's crazy. So Jay-Z Caddey B: yeah. DJ Rubbaban: also has a box set, and you can only get it online with all his albums, and it's in a little crate. And I want to say it's like twelve, thirteen hundred dollars. Don't quote me exact, but it's over a thousand of all Jay-Z albums. That man make money. It's it's a business. What do you say? Me and Live? Caddey B: How many albums Jay Z got? DJ Rubbaban: Huh? Caddey B: How many albums Jay Z got? DJ Rubbaban: Six, seven, eight? Something like that? You think you got that many? Caddey B: I don't even know. I'm I'm just what DJ Rubbaban: Let's say he let's just say let's say for argument's sake he got seven or eight. And he and he owned his masters and he's selling them only at Target and online. It's a business, it's a business. Caddey B: It is. Everything is w we're all DJ Rubbaban: You want all two short albums? You want all two short albums we're gonna look online for you. Caddey B: We're all selling something, right? DJ Rubbaban: yeah, yeah, dude. Two Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: short been independent for a minute though. Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: I think after number ten, he was he was on jive, I think after number ten or eleven, he wasn't on jive no more. He'd been doing his thing independent after that. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. I mean he went to Atlanta DJ Rubbaban: Shut out to so. Caddey B: before anybody else went to Atlanta. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. Shout out too short in Eric Sermon. Hey. Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: yeah. So my last thing I gotta say, Caddy, I need you to put that in I need you to put that as a wish list. Cause I think that would really put some energy into the verses if it wasn't so, you know, cookie cut. You know what I'm saying? Cause you know, historically, people always say it too short. wasn't really verbal and he kept the same style because raps changed so much and he stayed consistently too short, which helped him be who he is. Caddey B: yeah, for sure. You know what mean? But I think I think too short evolved 'cause go back and listen to DJ Rubbaban: Freaky tails. Caddey B: The one with with with blow with with with blowjaw Betty on it. DJ Rubbaban: Right. Yeah, definitely for blow job betting. Yeah. Caddey B: Yeah, I mean, listen to that album, getting it. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. getting it was that Caddey B: And then DJ Rubbaban: was his no, but getting it was that was his perfect album right there. Remember production on Gettin' It on that ten, number ten? Caddey B: yeah. Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: He had Parliament Funkadelic in that. The production was like crisp. Caddey B: Yeah, it Aunt Banks was all over that. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. Too sure, do got crazy hits. He's we so used to him and Caddey B: yeah. DJ Rubbaban: people like LL Cool J with just massive hits. You forget they're great and it comes easy, kinda. E40 too like you forget those kind of legacy artists. Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: Just have massive hits, Caddey B: yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: and you judging, and again, Caddey B: Massive. DJ Rubbaban: I I go back to Corrupt and Battlecats album, and I want to be objective, but I want to see the growth, but at the same time, I respect it, and I do love some tracks. And every time I I I want to say something bad, I go, Dog food, dog food, dog food. And that album was perfect. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. Yeah, yeah. Another one, who could who could go against L L in a versus? DJ Rubbaban: No, see LL helped start this. He was the first major rap artist. Not the first rapper, but the face on a f I mean you could say Curtis Blow was too, maybe. But Curtis Blow was a different genre. Yeah, Curtis Caddey B: Yeah, they play in basketball, exactly. DJ Rubbaban: Blow was a different genre than than him. You know? LL like Caddey B: Yeah. But I mean another another one, L L just dropped an album, what was it, last year? You know what I mean? DJ Rubbaban: Mm-hmm. Caddey B: And that was a that was a pretty good album. I don't think people DJ Rubbaban: That was a good album. Caddey B: gave it enough credit. DJ Rubbaban: Right. Right. And that again, I keep speaking Caddey B: Yeah, but who DJ Rubbaban: to being objective and even judging albums sometimes. But I want people to listen to Corrupt's album. I want them to listen to all those albums. Even Juvenile had a new album, remember? Last year. The end of last year. Caddey B: Yeah, that was dope. DJ Rubbaban: That was nice. Caddey B: That was. I'll DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, yeah. Caddey B: even give I'll even give I'll even give Jim Jones's last album a decent run 'cause I listened to it and I didn't I I didn't I thought it was decent. I thought it DJ Rubbaban: I like Jim Joe. That's all when he redid summertime, he redid summertime over. That was tight. Caddey B: was decent. I I'm not a Jim Jones fan. DJ Rubbaban: I I fuck with Jim Jones. I you why I fuck with Jim Jones too? Caddey B: But that was good. DJ Rubbaban: Jim Jones is old, but he don't even know he old and he think he the flyest nigga in the room. I respect Jim Jones. I if I seen Jim Jones, I'm like, What's up, my nigga? What's up, my nigga? Yeah, yeah, Jim Jones is They just said fifty was talking about him 'cause he just got evicted from his podcast space. But We bizarro world anyway, man. I don't even care. We in bizarro world right now. Caddey B: That's it. That's it. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. Wasn't he at the B. T. Awards? I wanna go to the B.E. T. Awards. You know, like, hey. I don't think he Caddey B: Yeah. Okay. DJ Rubbaban: won no award, but he was at the B.E. T. Awards with who is he with? Fabulous? He was with somebody. Yeah, yeah. Caddey B: Probably. DJ Rubbaban: Him and Chrissy, yeah, yeah. maybe it was Dave East too, maybe. I think Dave East was there. Caddey B: They've been they've been kinda thick as thieves lately. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah man. Shout out Dave East man. I Caddey B: You know. DJ Rubbaban: just I just I just wanted more, you know. And you know me, dude. I I wanna I want a song I can sing in the car. Like so with Dave East I kept waiting to see like when I'm gonna get a break and the female gonna sing or dude gonna sing. And that ain't a Dave East album. Dave East ain't giving you no. He just giving you boom back. Caddey B: He just giving you bars the whole time. Yeah. Yeah, which is DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. I'ma send you that I'ma send you that fabulous cause you sleeping on fabulous. I don't think you can look, Caddey B: No, I fuck with some fab, like DJ Rubbaban: look, I think it's a whole but a whole bunch of people in his genre, Fab would take down. Caddey B: it probably, yeah. I'm just saying I don't DJ Rubbaban: You I think Caddey B: think he has a whole I don't think he has a complete I don't think he's got that one complete body of work. He doesn't have that dog DJ Rubbaban: He does Caddey B: food. He doesn't he he doesn't have that, you know DJ Rubbaban: you talk you talking about corrupt. you talking about fab. Caddey B: No, fabulous. I don't I I don't think Fab has like that complete album. Like he doesn't have a dog food. He doesn't have a a a dead presidents. DJ Rubbaban: Right, right. Caddey B: He doesn't have a you know what I mean? He doesn't have that whole thing. DJ Rubbaban: But you don't think that's part of this music game that Jadakiss can do you would you judge him by his album sales, by just his own albums, but overall his portfolio of music and publishing is crazy. He owned a lot of people's new albums. He on A Z. He on a lot of people's new albums. Still killing it. The longevity. Caddey B: yeah, no. I mean DJ Rubbaban: The long I mean, think about Corrupt. I mean Corrus been he's been doing this for a long time too. There's also some medical issues he had in the past. Caddey B: yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: But I mean think about like Dougie Fresh. He's still eating, he's still out there doing that. He's the greatest entertainer. He's he ain't put out no new album and he still will take it down. I don't even know who would go against Dougie Fresh. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: And he got what, three albums? Four albums, if that? Yeah, like Or salt pepper. Who would even go against salt and pepper? I don't even it's not even another female you can't say J J fad, who would you say? Is it any more female Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: groups? I don't even know. That's a group of women? I don't I can't think of none. Gotcha. Yeah, one of them passed away. Caddey B: C not con conscious daughters, but I mean, you know, Russ and B, so DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, one of them passed away. Yeah, but I mean it's Caddey B: So DJ Rubbaban: gotta be some. Put in the comments some female groups. It's got it's a bunch. It's gotta be, but just right off the Caddey B: I'm sure. DJ Rubbaban: head. Caddey B: What happened what and what happened what happened with Shaquilla from the Bay? Remember Shaquilla the Bay? DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. I gotta tell you that one off air. Yeah. Yeah. I gotta tell you that one Caddey B: She was hard. DJ Rubbaban: off air. It's a lot of it's people go in the comments gonna say or people go they gonna message us and go, why you didn't say so and so? Why you didn't say so and so? Why you didn't say so and so? Cause dude, like it's so many. Caddey B: 'Cause there's only so much time. DJ Rubbaban: Right, right. Plus, my boy gotta you know He gotta write out, you know, he gotta start this campaign for two short and Nas to do a versus, you know. Yeah, that would be crazy. That would be crazy. And then on Nas Set, he would bring out Jay-Z and they would be like, Man, we just might as well shut this down. Cause really Jay-Z tours the best, because he sounds like his songs. You know, a lot of people can't sound like they songs for two hours or an hour and a half. Caddey B: It's funny though, 'cause like when when I went and saw fifty cent and Jay Z, one fifty opened for Jay Z, DJ Rubbaban: Uh-huh. Caddey B: everybody got up. One fifty was done before even Jay Z went on. DJ Rubbaban: they did. Caddey B: That's when people went and was buying shirts and stuff. Like, yeah, everybody's going and getting merch. DJ Rubbaban: merge. But 50 was was a Juggernaut. He was a Juggernaut with and don't you feel like think about 50. I don't Caddey B: It was on his f it was on fifty's first album. It was on fifty's first album, so that was DJ Rubbaban: think fifty will put out another album like a lot of these legacy artists 'cause he's so massive. He don't need to. He's so he sold more than most of them. Caddey B: Yeah. Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: And like I think personally fifty had At least two of those albums was perfect almost. The first one and I go between another one. I won't say which one. And then the soundtrack, Baltimore Blues Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: and all that. Should he even touch it? Should Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: he even do anything? Probably not. He don't need to. Caddey B: Mm-mm. Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: He don't need to. If little Kim did a versus, I think it would probably if she didn't do it right, I don't know if it would be a good look for her. Her breath control on in when she's it ain't I seen her in that that no way out. Caddey B: She ain't got it no more. She ain't got that she ain't got that breath control no more. DJ Rubbaban: But she can go, she can work out and do all that and go, but she Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: ain't got that bur that you know. You know, she'll she'll be rapping and then she'll Caddey B: Queen Lativ will be a dog. DJ Rubbaban: go. Like she'll do that, like, yeah, yeah, yeah. Shout out, but she's Caddey B: Mm. DJ Rubbaban: a legend. She don't need to. She should be doing infomercials Caddey B: Yeah, yeah, no, she got DJ Rubbaban: and commercials. Yeah. Caddey B: She earned her she earned hers, for sure. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. Shout out Gangsta Boo. Rest in peace. Yo yo, your birthday. Man. Just a classy lady. Come from South Central. I love your grind. Man, all that. Shout out your sister. Her sister bad too. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Living in yeah, they lived in Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. Shout out tiny. DJ Rubbaban: the lanes. They lived in the shout out devil lanes too. Shout out devil lanes too. Yeah. Yeah. Caddey B: Shout out Tiny. Rubba wants to know when he when his invite's gonna come. DJ Rubbaban: Man, I think I would let tip hit me, man. Look, I think I will let tip hit me just so I can come back and tell you. But it's really just respect, dude. It's really, it it really all that intrigues me, dog. All that just I love love. I love different shit. I love just Caddey B: yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: you know, we a bizarro world. We are. Caddey B: yeah, for sure. Facts. DJ Rubbaban: Remember when Acts was all dressed alike, sang alike? Now people come out. Remember when they had that white boy that was rapping? I think he went to jail. He shot somebody or something. He sounded real black. And he made a song about a sandwich or something. And he had a real raspy voice. He was on Adam 22 and all that. And then he went to jail or something, and his movement just stopped. But he was He sounded good. It's we it's just we in a gumbo right now. It's too much going on and they tryna reverse it. You gotta let these people be who they gonna wanna be. You know what I'm saying? You gotta let be who they gonna be. You know? Caddey B: Yeah. That's it. DJ Rubbaban: I'm waiting for a bad female rapper to come out that just go crazy, that'll battle anybody. It's gotta be some. God, it's gonna it's gonna come. Caddey B: Th there's a few, you know what I mean? Lady London, she was doing that for a minute. DJ Rubbaban: But I mean that can do the commercial can transition too. You know what I mean? Can do it, but like a lotto or a gorilla, you know. Even though all of them Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: and then think about Cardi B, she's still killing it. I think she got a single out maybe. Like she still she Caddey B: I think so, yeah. She just dropped. DJ Rubbaban: killing it too in her genre. Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: But I need to listen to Megan I l I've never listened to a whole Megan Stallion album. Have you? Have you ever Caddey B: Nah. DJ Rubbaban: just put it on? Caddey B: I don't think I have. I did I did I did glow I did Glow DJ Rubbaban: Not since our next ten days. Caddey B: Rilla. I did do Glow Rilla 'cause my 'cause my oldest son said to listen to it and so I did that and it was okay. DJ Rubbaban: What you think? You think it's okay? Caddey B: The the glow really one I I liked it, it was good. DJ Rubbaban: They was pushing her hard for a minute. I ain't heard nothing from Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: her lately, but they was pushing her for a minute hard, huh? Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: It was pushing her. Caddey B: I I haven't listened to Shaw I haven't listened to what is it, Swaty or whatever. I haven't listened to her or Megan. DJ Rubbaban: huh. Yeah. Yeah yeah yeah yeah. Caddey B: I'll go back. I go back. I like to go back and listen to listen re listen to old music, you know. DJ Rubbaban: yeah, yeah. Yeah man. Look at l listen to that yo yo man and and yo and look, yo-yo had them pretty eyes back in the days, you know. Yeah. Caddey B: Mm-hmm. DJ Rubbaban: And just a good person too. Shout out yo yo, man. Shout out yo yo, man. One of the things that you learn Caddey B: Definitely. DJ Rubbaban: in this music business too is you don't want to meet your heroes and the people that you listen to. And being in these rooms and sometimes these people ain't always what we think they would be when we meet And yo yo is definitely a good person, dude. Definitely, you know. And and I only say that. The ones that don't, I don't say, but you know, it's not a you Caddey B: Yeah, yeah. DJ Rubbaban: would be surprised, like a lot of them is assholes. Yeah. Caddey B: yeah. DJ Rubbaban: A lot of them won't shake your hand, they won't look at you. Yeah, like what you know I mean, and so Caddey B: All they want to do is just try to get all they want to do is just try to get something from you. They wanna try to get like a a room comp DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. Caddey B: or wherever you're at if you're trying to do something, they wanna get something from you. You DJ Rubbaban: yeah. yeah. Caddey B: know. DJ Rubbaban: And then you see on the way up and then you see on the way down and then when they go back up and then you at a festival show and you would all the people, you with all your people, and then they drive up in the Honda Accord, not even the the XL version, and get out the car and say, Man, where I go get my check who I go get my money from? And we all look and go, go talk to go talk to Wes. And they they go get their little money and they go up there and sing their two songs, and you get off the freeway and you see them going back and they hinder a court and you'll be like, Man, yeah. Caddey B: Mm. DJ Rubbaban: Life will teach you, man. Treat people how you wanna be treated. You know? And Caddey B: yeah, definitely. DJ Rubbaban: if you ever get a chance, if you single and young, break a few of them off. Yeah, so you got some good stories. Yeah, yeah, not saying I did, Caddey B: Mm-hmm. DJ Rubbaban: but I'm just saying, yeah. Yeah. Cause before the cell phone, Caddey B: Do what it do. DJ Rubbaban: before the cell phone, it was wow. Before the cell phone Caddey B: Thanks. yeah. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah. And you know I'm a lightweight, so I gotta be sober, I gotta be everything, because I'm a lightweight everything. Caddey B: Yeah. DJ Rubbaban: Yeah, I'm a lightweight everything. But I'm inquisitive. I'ma go down the dark hallways. What they doing in here? Why everybody going in there and nobody coming out? You take your ass back there. Caddey B: Mm-hmm. DJ Rubbaban: For what? I go back there and go, okay. Yeah. Shout out to going to church. You know. Shout out to going to church. Let me get up Caddey B: All right, tchau. DJ Rubbaban: out of here.
