- 0:04Speaker 1: Pirates Inc. is an extremely risky business. It operates in
- 0:07Speaker 1: some of the most dangerous countries and places in the world.
- 0:10Speaker 1: Some of these scenes may be reenacted due to the
- 0:12Speaker 1: sensitive nature of the content and to protect the individuals
- 0:16Speaker 1: and locations involved.
- 0:18Speaker 2: But I think I got a killer deal on a
- 0:20Speaker 2: jet ranger.
- 0:20Speaker 1: It better be. You made me drop everything I'm building.
- 0:22Speaker 3: I know, I know.
- 0:23Speaker 2: I'm telling you, though, it's going to be.
- 0:24Speaker 1: A good deal. Kelly was out of pocket on this job,
- 0:27Speaker 1: so I decided to do it myself.
- 0:29Speaker 4: You've told me this a million times.
- 0:30Speaker 5: I got it. We have a bunch of dogs in
- 0:32Speaker 5: Puerto Rico.
- 0:33Speaker 1: I need you to get me a plane. Yeah, I
- 0:35Speaker 1: heard that.
- 0:35Speaker 5: Can you do that?
- 0:36Speaker 1: I can do that. This ship was a drug-running ship.
- 0:39Speaker 1: It had a lot of loads.
- 0:41Speaker 6: Wow.
- 0:41Speaker 1: I can't believe what they've done to this thing. You're
- 0:44Speaker 1: the mechanic and the paperwork's not all up to date.
- 0:46Speaker 1: What does that tell me? Really? I'm not comfortable with
- 0:49Speaker 1: this at all.
- 0:49Speaker 4: You're really pissing me off right now.
- 0:52Speaker 2: I need for you to stay out of it.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Okay.
- 0:54Speaker 5: Very nice. I'm impressed, Tony.
- 0:57Speaker 1: Hang on a second here.
- 0:58Speaker 2: I gotta get that back.
- 1:01Speaker 6: Fuck.
- 1:01Speaker 7: Okay.
- 1:02Speaker 1: Everything's fine.
- 1:03Speaker 6: We're just testing. We're testing.
- 1:05Speaker 5: You're doing it with me, Tony.
- 1:19Speaker 1: Well, I got to go over and meet Kelly because
- 1:21Speaker 1: I brought this plane back from Belize. It was seized
- 1:24Speaker 1: for drug trafficking by the Belizean government, was utilized for
- 1:27Speaker 1: a while by the Belizean government, and then I was
- 1:30Speaker 1: able to go over and get it. Kelly was out
- 1:32Speaker 1: of pocket on this job because she was off traveling,
- 1:35Speaker 1: so I decided to do it myself. I brought the
- 1:37Speaker 1: plane back and kind of didn't do it so right.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Kelly's the glue that holds the pirates together.
- 1:44Speaker 7: My name is Kelly, and I handle all the aircraft
- 1:46Speaker 7: sales and transactions for Tony.
- 1:49Speaker 1: She's the woman that wears many hats and masters them all.
- 1:53Speaker 5: Hey, you.
- 1:55Speaker 3: Hey, girl.
- 1:55Speaker 6: How's it going?
- 1:56Speaker 1: How's the love of my life?
- 1:57Speaker 4: You always say the right things.
- 2:00Speaker 2: Oh, baby.
- 2:01Speaker 5: Especially today. This is a tough one.
- 2:03Speaker 1: I know. I screwed this thing up so bad.
- 2:06Speaker 5: Yes, you did.
- 2:07Speaker 1: So I took it to a shop maybe I shouldn't
- 2:09Speaker 1: have brought it to. And guess what? Yeah, I shouldn't
- 2:13Speaker 1: have brought it there. All the avionics got stolen out
- 2:16Speaker 1: of it.
- 2:17Speaker 7: This is one of the worst things you've dumped in
- 2:19Speaker 7: my lap.
- 2:19Speaker 2: I don't get it.
- 2:20Speaker 4: Do you realize what we've got ahead of us here?
- 2:23Speaker 1: I know. Look, when I got it out of Belize,
- 2:25Speaker 1: I knew this situation wasn't right, and I ended up
- 2:28Speaker 1: sending it over to that other shop where you got back,
- 2:32Speaker 1: got into the scene, and found out that all the
- 2:34Speaker 1: avionics were stolen out. Well, it's not just that.
- 2:37Speaker 7: I mean, it's everything else. It's that it doesn't have
- 2:39Speaker 7: an airworthiness certificate. It's been sitting now, so now we
- 2:42Speaker 7: have to redo inspections that were done originally.
- 2:46Speaker 1: It's a mess. This plane's got to get sold. It's
- 2:49Speaker 1: becoming a money pit. I'm looking to get this thing
- 2:52Speaker 1: off of our plate. We'll probably make maybe around $ 50, 000, $ 60, 000
- 2:57Speaker 1: out of it because, I mean, I'm selling it for...
- 3:00Speaker 1: That would be a miracle. Look, I don't care what
- 3:02Speaker 1: it takes. We've got to get this done.
- 3:03Speaker 7: Tony, just stop it right there. You've told me this
- 3:07Speaker 7: a million times.
- 3:08Speaker 5: I got it.
- 3:09Speaker 4: So stay out of it. Let me do my thing.
- 3:11Speaker 4: You're really pissing me off right now. I can't perform miracles.
- 3:15Speaker 4: You dumped this crap in my lap, and what am
- 3:17Speaker 4: I supposed to do? You just don't understand what's involved here,
- 3:20Speaker 4: so you have.
- 3:21Speaker 7: To stop this nonsense and let me finish this airplane
- 3:26Speaker 7: so we can.
- 3:26Speaker 5: Get it gone.
- 3:27Speaker 1: Okay, I'll step completely out. Just tell me what you need.
- 3:30Speaker 1: I've already approved everything. I need for you to stay
- 3:32Speaker 1: out of it. Okay, all right, and done. Look, Kelly
- 3:35Speaker 1: is the best in the business, and that's why she
- 3:37Speaker 1: does what she does, and that's why I trust her.
- 3:39Speaker 1: And when she said, back off and leave me alone
- 3:41Speaker 1: and let me do this, I trust her 100%, and
- 3:43Speaker 1: she's going to get the job done. I know it.
- 3:54Speaker 1: First thoughts is, what a money pit. Last time I
- 4:01Speaker 1: saw this thing, it was not in this shape, that's
- 4:03Speaker 1: for sure. It's looking a little better. King Air is
- 4:06Speaker 1: a twin turboprop pressurized aircraft. Flies at around 420, 450
- 4:12Speaker 1: miles an hour. Goes at a great altitude. It's a
- 4:15Speaker 1: great all-around plane. It's a good commuter. A lot of
- 4:18Speaker 1: business people use them. A lot of companies use them
- 4:20Speaker 1: for their business travel. It's a really good all-around plane.
- 4:23Speaker 1: And we got this plane cheap. So at this point
- 4:25Speaker 1: in time that we're at, if I flip this plane,
- 4:28Speaker 1: I'm going to make some good money on it. If
- 4:30Speaker 1: I go anything beyond where we are, I'm going to
- 4:32Speaker 1: start losing money. And I don't like to lose money. Yep,
- 4:37Speaker 1: still pretty well stripped out.
- 4:40Speaker 8: They took everything out.
- 4:41Speaker 7: We just put some seats back in, and there it is.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Well, I can see we got the new avionics in.
- 4:46Speaker 1: I know that cost a fortune.
- 4:48Speaker 5: Yeah, it was a lot.
- 4:49Speaker 7: I mean, every time I turn around, there's an expense,
- 4:52Speaker 7: and that's why I'm saying we can't keep bleeding like this.
- 4:54Speaker 7: It's got to get finished and get the airworthiness certificate
- 4:58Speaker 7: and go.
- 4:58Speaker 1: So whatever it takes right now, without blowing through the
- 5:01Speaker 1: entire budget, let's get it done.
- 5:03Speaker 7: I can't predict what the FAA does. That's why I'm concerned.
- 5:07Speaker 7: I know what we can do. I just don't know
- 5:08Speaker 7: what they're.
- 5:09Speaker 9: Going to do.
- 5:10Speaker 7: I'm just hoping the FAA will work with us on
- 5:12Speaker 7: this one.
- 5:13Speaker 1: The key is getting an airworthy certificate. If we don't
- 5:17Speaker 1: get that from the FAA and we don't get this
- 5:20Speaker 1: plane certified, nope, no deal. And guess what? I spent
- 5:25Speaker 1: more money on a plane that we can't sell. You know,
- 6:02Speaker 1: I'm on the go all the time. So every chance
- 6:05Speaker 1: I get to get to the beach, look at the water,
- 6:08Speaker 1: decompress a little bit. Hey, I need that me time.
- 6:16Speaker 1: My phone goes off.
- 6:17Speaker 5: There it is.
- 6:22Speaker 1: It's Walter from Archangel. He said, I got to get
- 6:24Speaker 1: there ASAP. Let me tell you, when Walter calls, I
- 6:27Speaker 1: go running. This has got to be interesting.
- 6:46Speaker 10: Hi, I'm Walter, and I own Archangel Aviation here in Melbourne, Florida.
- 6:56Speaker 10: So we're the technical and tactical specialists when it comes
- 7:00Speaker 10: to aviation.
- 7:03Speaker 2: We are the best at what we do.
- 7:07Speaker 10: And we're only one of maybe one or two companies
- 7:09Speaker 10: in the United States that are even.
- 7:11Speaker 1: Capable of doing it. Whoa, Tony. What's up, man?
- 7:26Speaker 2: But I think I got a killer deal on a
- 7:27Speaker 2: jet ranger.
- 7:28Speaker 1: It better be. You made me drop everything I'm building.
- 7:29Speaker 2: I know, I know, I know.
- 7:30Speaker 10: I'm telling you, though, it's going to be a good deal.
- 7:32Speaker 10: I mean, I haven't looked at the helicopter yet, so
- 7:33Speaker 10: I'm not really sure what it's.
- 7:35Speaker 1: Going to be.
- 7:35Speaker 2: But I think it's going to be a good aircraft.
- 7:38Speaker 1: So what are we doing now?
- 7:39Speaker 10: Well, so the paperwork might be a little bit sketchy.
- 7:42Speaker 10: I got to dig into that a little bit more.
- 7:44Speaker 10: But I think we need to go drive over there now,
- 7:46Speaker 10: go take a look at it, and see what it is.
- 7:48Speaker 10: And then from there, we can build whatever we want
- 7:49Speaker 10: to do.
- 7:50Speaker 1: You know, Walter's telling me about this deal. The guy's questionable.
- 7:54Speaker 1: The deal's questionable. The paperwork's sketchy. I'm like, Walter, really?
- 7:58Speaker 1: Why are we even getting into this? Walter gives me
- 8:01Speaker 1: the typical nod, nod, nod. Yeah, Tony, but it's worth
- 8:04Speaker 1: getting into.
- 8:06Speaker 3: Okay.
- 8:09Speaker 8: Okay.
- 8:19Speaker 1: Let's take a look at this helicopter you're talking about.
- 8:21Speaker 2: Man, I hope this is a decent aircraft, you know
- 8:23Speaker 2: what I mean?
- 8:24Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 8:24Speaker 2: We've looked at so many that have just been.
- 8:26Speaker 1: garbage dumps. But what you're telling me, though, the guy
- 8:30Speaker 1: doesn't have all the paperwork and all the documentation, everything
- 8:32Speaker 1: that's supposed to go with this thing. I mean, you know,
- 8:35Speaker 1: things are starting off a little sketchy. Walter and I
- 8:37Speaker 1: are driving up, and I'm a little sketchy on this
- 8:39Speaker 1: whole deal. So I got the camera crew with me.
- 8:41Speaker 1: I'm telling them, like, look, guys, you know, you guys
- 8:44Speaker 1: got to stay back. I don't want this guy seeing cameras.
- 8:46Speaker 1: I don't want him to see anything until I can
- 8:48Speaker 1: feel out what's going on here, and we decide what
- 8:50Speaker 1: we're doing. Look at this guy. Really? Guy looks shitty,
- 8:53Speaker 1: but boy, does this aircraft look good. I mean, yeah,
- 8:55Speaker 1: the helicopter looks beautiful.
- 8:58Speaker 6: I don't know, man.
- 8:58Speaker 1: We'll see what it is. You know, we pull up
- 9:01Speaker 1: and I'm looking at this guy. You know, first impressions,
- 9:03Speaker 1: you got to look at a guy. And, you know,
- 9:05Speaker 1: I don't like to go with that because sometimes the
- 9:07Speaker 1: guy could be in work clothes, but he's a billionaire.
- 9:09Speaker 1: This guy, not so much. He looks like he belongs
- 9:14Speaker 1: pumping gas somewhere. Hey, are you Paul? How you doing?
- 9:17Speaker 4: Good.
- 9:18Speaker 2: How you doing?
- 9:20Speaker 1: How's it going, Tony? How you doing, Tony?
- 9:24Speaker 2: So this is the 206, huh? Is it? So what
- 9:31Speaker 2: was going on with the paperwork?
- 9:32Speaker 10: I saw some of the stuff you sent me and
- 9:33Speaker 10: it wasn't like a complete run list or anything on
- 9:35Speaker 10: the aircraft.
- 9:36Speaker 5: I got some.
- 9:38Speaker 1: Most of it's pretty much complete. Everything's there, at least
- 9:41Speaker 1: as far as I know.
- 9:43Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 9:43Speaker 1: Everything should be there complete.
- 9:45Speaker 2: How long have you had this helicopter?
- 9:47Speaker 1: About a year and a half.
- 9:48Speaker 5: Two years. Yeah.
- 9:50Speaker 1: A year and a half, two years, and all the
- 9:52Speaker 1: paperwork is?
- 9:53Speaker 2: We haven't been up to date.
- 9:57Speaker 5: It hasn't been flying all the time.
- 9:58Speaker 2: I mean, we just got it back. I'm trying to
- 10:00Speaker 2: work things here and there.
- 10:02Speaker 1: You know, the more this guy talks, I'm starting to
- 10:05Speaker 1: really feel like this guy's not legit. I feel like
- 10:07Speaker 1: I'm talking to Tony Bag of Donuts in the Spanish version.
- 10:10Speaker 1: I got to be careful, so I'm just backing off
- 10:12Speaker 1: a little bit. Let this guy keep talking. The Bell
- 10:15Speaker 1: Ranger is a highly sought-after helicopter. Archangel has about three
- 10:19Speaker 1: of them in our inventory. If we can get the
- 10:21Speaker 1: paperwork and this guy's drained out, this could be a
- 10:24Speaker 1: huge payday for the pirates. I know what this thing
- 10:27Speaker 1: is worth. I know what the value of this helicopter is.
- 10:30Speaker 1: But I'm a pirate, and there's no way I'm gonna
- 10:32Speaker 1: pay that. Are you the mechanic on this thing? You are?
- 10:42Speaker 1: You're the mechanic and the paperwork's not all up to date.
- 10:44Speaker 1: What does that tell me?
- 10:45Speaker 6: Well, the guy that's in charge of me, my boss,
- 10:47Speaker 6: that's on him.
- 10:48Speaker 1: I pull Walt aside. I go, come on, Walt, really?
- 10:51Speaker 1: I'm not comfortable with this at all. Look, man, this
- 10:54Speaker 1: guy don't have all the paperwork. He's the mechanic and
- 10:56Speaker 1: he don't have the paperwork. You know, really?
- 10:59Speaker 5: He's got it a year.
- 11:00Speaker 10: I know, but just trust me on this one, Tony.
- 11:03Speaker 10: I'm telling you, we're not going to get hurt on
- 11:04Speaker 10: this aircraft. We're going to do good.
- 11:05Speaker 1: Walt, you're my partner. I got to trust you, okay?
- 11:08Speaker 1: But just don't get us in fucking trouble with this one. Hey, Paul.
- 11:12Speaker 11: Can I talk to you?
- 11:13Speaker 10: If we can get with your partner and we get
- 11:15Speaker 10: a good comfort that this aircraft is something, I think
- 11:17Speaker 10: I got my partner here convinced that maybe we could
- 11:20Speaker 10: go forward with it, all right? So it's not a
- 11:22Speaker 10: dead deal or anything, but we're just going to need
- 11:24Speaker 10: to dig a little deeper here.
- 11:24Speaker 3: No problem.
- 11:25Speaker 5: I'll talk to him.
- 11:25Speaker 1: We can get something going.
- 11:27Speaker 10: All right, can you get a hold of him today,
- 11:28Speaker 10: you think?
- 11:29Speaker 1: Should be. Should be a problem.
- 11:30Speaker 2: All right. We've got a couple things, but I'll call him.
- 11:32Speaker 2: All right.
- 11:32Speaker 1: And we're going to have to adjust some numbers on
- 11:34Speaker 1: this thing, man, because the paperwork on this thing is
- 11:36Speaker 1: a mess, and we don't know. We're basically going on
- 11:39Speaker 1: a word. And, you know, that ain't going to translate
- 11:43Speaker 1: good when it comes to the dollar signs. I understand.
- 11:46Speaker 1: Just sit down.
- 11:47Speaker 7: We'll talk.
- 11:47Speaker 6: All right.
- 11:47Speaker 1: All right. We're good.
- 11:49Speaker 6: All right.
- 11:50Speaker 1: I'm trusting you, brother.
- 11:51Speaker 2: Be back in touch.
- 11:52Speaker 1: Thank you, Paul.
- 12:04Speaker 10: After a whole bunch of wheeling and dealing, kind of
- 12:07Speaker 10: going back and forth, comes to find out that Paul
- 12:11Speaker 10: really didn't own most of the helicopter.
- 12:14Speaker 2: He just knew.
- 12:15Speaker 10: The owner and was actually really was trying to pull
- 12:18Speaker 10: a fast one on us. But we were able to
- 12:19Speaker 10: get a hold of the owner and actually made a
- 12:22Speaker 10: better deal than what Paul was even asking for.
- 12:25Speaker 2: And lo and behold, she's now in our hangar.
- 12:31Speaker 10: So as usual, I proved to Tony that I knew
- 12:33Speaker 10: what I was talking about and that this was the
- 12:35Speaker 10: helicopter to buy.
- 12:37Speaker 1: Look man, this guy don't have all the paperwork. He's
- 12:40Speaker 1: the mechanic and he don't have the paperwork. You know, really?
- 12:43Speaker 2: Tony was wrong on this one, so.
- 12:51Speaker 1: I got this buddy, Carol. We do a lot of
- 12:53Speaker 1: dog deals together. Carol. You know, that girl, she has
- 13:05Speaker 1: a heart of gold. She's all over the place. I mean,
- 13:08Speaker 1: she's badass, drives a Harley, handles a beautiful program that
- 13:13Speaker 1: she calls Pet Haven, takes care of a lot of animals.
- 13:16Speaker 1: I mean, she's a cool, cool girl. I love her.
- 13:21Speaker 1: When she needs something, she puts a call in, and
- 13:24Speaker 1: I come running.
- 13:24Speaker 6: Okay.
- 13:30Speaker 5: Yo, baby.
- 13:31Speaker 1: Carol, how you doing, sweetie?
- 13:33Speaker 8: You never let me down, and you know you never
- 13:35Speaker 8: knock on the door at my house.
- 13:36Speaker 5: Tony's been my friend for many years. We go way back.
- 13:39Speaker 5: He helps me, I help him. Made you coffee, babe.
- 13:42Speaker 1: Oh, you're a dream.
- 13:43Speaker 5: I knew you were coming, as it's all about the coffee.
- 13:45Speaker 1: You are a dream, let me tell you.
- 13:47Speaker 5: Would you like the bark or the woof?
- 13:48Speaker 2: You know, baby, I always bark.
- 13:50Speaker 5: You sure do.
- 13:51Speaker 8: Today, I've called Tony in, and I need help from him.
- 13:54Speaker 1: So, what's the big secret? What am I here for?
- 13:57Speaker 5: You need a favor, Tony. I need some connections here. Sure.
- 14:00Speaker 8: We have a bunch of dogs in Puerto Rico, and
- 14:02Speaker 8: Jessica's hounding me that we need to get them over here.
- 14:04Speaker 8: Our supply has been cut financially, and we can't use
- 14:08Speaker 8: any more planes. My mission this past year has been
- 14:12Speaker 8: saving animals off the Puerto Rico island.
- 14:14Speaker 1: There's been a lot of hurricanes that hit the Caribbean,
- 14:18Speaker 1: and all these animals that were just abandoned left out
- 14:21Speaker 1: in the street. Her rescue group went over and rounded
- 14:25Speaker 1: up all these animals and brought them over to a
- 14:27Speaker 1: facility in Puerto Rico.
- 14:31Speaker 8: So we've got about 100 dogs in Puerto Rico.
- 14:33Speaker 5: I need your help. I need you to get me
- 14:39Speaker 5: a plane.
- 14:39Speaker 1: Yeah, I heard that.
- 14:40Speaker 5: Can you do that?
- 14:41Speaker 1: I can do that. Yeah? I think so. Now, what
- 14:43Speaker 1: they want to do is move those dogs off the
- 14:45Speaker 1: island of Puerto Rico and bring them over here to
- 14:48Speaker 1: mainland United States and get them adopted. So to do that,
- 14:52Speaker 1: they need to transport these dogs.
- 14:53Speaker 5: What do you got?
- 14:56Speaker 1: You're in luck. We have a casa. It's like they
- 15:00Speaker 1: call it a flying boxcar. It looks like a truck
- 15:03Speaker 1: on wheels.
- 15:04Speaker 5: Cleaned out, which means we can put cages? Yeah.
- 15:06Speaker 1: I mean, it has a ramp that drops down the back.
- 15:08Speaker 1: You can just walk up into it. Here's what we're
- 15:10Speaker 1: going to do. Tomorrow... We're going to go up to Archangel,
- 15:15Speaker 1: and I'm going to have you look at this plane.
- 15:17Speaker 1: You're going to get inside it. You walk through it
- 15:19Speaker 1: with them, exactly what you need. But I think this
- 15:21Speaker 1: plane will probably work. We can make that happen.
- 15:24Speaker 5: You promise?
- 15:25Speaker 1: I promise. We can make that happen, baby. We're going
- 15:29Speaker 1: up to Archangel to take a look at this casa
- 15:31Speaker 1: that we have up there to see if that plane
- 15:33Speaker 1: matches exactly what she needs to transport all these dogs.
- 15:45Speaker 4: Walter.
- 15:46Speaker 2: Tony, how you doing, buddy?
- 15:47Speaker 1: Walter, I want you to meet Carol. Hi, sir. Carol,
- 15:50Speaker 1: nice to meet you.
- 15:51Speaker 6: Very nice to meet you.
- 15:52Speaker 1: She has Pet Haven Rescue and does all this crazy
- 15:55Speaker 1: stuff with animals and everything. She's awesome.
- 15:58Speaker 6: Fantastic.
- 15:58Speaker 5: This is a nice plane.
- 16:00Speaker 2: Thank you.
- 16:00Speaker 1: CASA is like a flying boxcar. It's not a super
- 16:04Speaker 1: fast plane, but it will carry everything you can put
- 16:07Speaker 1: into it. It was used by the military. It's used
- 16:09Speaker 1: by private sector. The plane is an all-around great plane.
- 16:15Speaker 8: My first thought is, holy shit, this plane can carry
- 16:18Speaker 8: some dogs.
- 16:19Speaker 10: So we were looking at how we could stack crates
- 16:22Speaker 10: and try to finish, you know, figure out how the volume,
- 16:25Speaker 10: how to kind of maximize what we could actually put
- 16:27Speaker 10: in there.
- 16:27Speaker 5: We do like medium to small dogs. Okay.
- 16:29Speaker 8: And, you know, when we do one transport, it's usually
- 16:32Speaker 8: about 100 animals.
- 16:33Speaker 5: Okay.
- 16:34Speaker 8: And I know in my mind we could probably put
- 16:36Speaker 8: at least 150 on there, but I'm going to play
- 16:38Speaker 8: a little stupid and see what this Walter has to
- 16:40Speaker 8: say about that.
- 16:41Speaker 2: Yeah, we can put 5,000 pounds of animals in it.
- 16:44Speaker 6: Okay.
- 16:45Speaker 1: So.
- 16:45Speaker 2: That's crazy.
- 16:46Speaker 10: And we're good for about 1,000 miles.
- 16:50Speaker 8: So I would say we could probably do more than 100.
- 16:52Speaker 1: Yep, probably.
- 16:53Speaker 2: Absolutely, depending on the size of the animals.
- 16:56Speaker 5: Push me up, Tony.
- 16:57Speaker 1: Go for it.
- 16:57Speaker 6: There you go.
- 17:00Speaker 10: So these seats all actually either can come out or
- 17:03Speaker 10: they just fold up, depending on how we want to
- 17:05Speaker 10: situate it. So if you've got some people that need
- 17:06Speaker 10: to stay with the animals or something, we can leave
- 17:08Speaker 10: some seats in.
- 17:09Speaker 8: I wonder if we could stack a double stack.
- 17:12Speaker 1: Yes, absolutely.
- 17:14Speaker 10: You're welcome to actually stack up to about here. So
- 17:17Speaker 10: it shouldn't be an issue at all as far as
- 17:19Speaker 10: all the way up and all the way across.
- 17:21Speaker 1: So they'll be all the way across? All the way across. Wow,
- 17:24Speaker 1: that's great. Yeah, so you're thinking an aisle. You don't
- 17:26Speaker 1: even need an aisle.
- 17:27Speaker 5: This is amazing.
- 17:28Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 17:30Speaker 6: Very nice.
- 17:32Speaker 5: I'm impressed, Tony.
- 17:34Speaker 1: You told me when I met you that you said, like, honey,
- 17:36Speaker 1: you didn't have any budget. Like, okay, but talk to
- 17:39Speaker 1: me about budget-wise.
- 17:40Speaker 5: Well, we do have a budget.
- 17:41Speaker 1: Oh, you do? You know, I like helping Carol out.
- 17:43Speaker 1: So what we did is we figured out what we
- 17:45Speaker 1: can do for her, and we can do it in
- 17:48Speaker 1: such a budget that won't kill her and won't break
- 17:51Speaker 1: our bank either.
- 17:52Speaker 8: We've been paying, like, $ 15, 000 a flight, and we have
- 17:57Speaker 8: several more flights to do.
- 17:58Speaker 10: And that was pretty close, actually, when we looked at it.
- 18:00Speaker 1: I think it's about $ 18, 000.
- 18:01Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 18:01Speaker 10: And that's what it costs us to actually run it.
- 18:05Speaker 1: Yeah, we're going to actually do it at a cost.
- 18:07Speaker 2: We would do it at a cost for you.
- 18:08Speaker 1: So that's fuel and pilot time, stuff like that.
- 18:10Speaker 4: Okay.
- 18:11Speaker 10: Well, and you said if you were moving 100 dogs before,
- 18:13Speaker 10: and if we can move 120 or 150 dogs in
- 18:16Speaker 10: this size of.
- 18:16Speaker 2: Aircraft, then it makes sense. It'll actually balance out.
- 18:19Speaker 1: Exactly.
- 18:20Speaker 6: Yeah.
- 18:20Speaker 2: Now, I'm allergic to cats.
- 18:22Speaker 6: Cats.
- 18:22Speaker 2: No cats.
- 18:23Speaker 1: No cats.
- 18:24Speaker 8: Well, we decided to put, if you're going to be
- 18:25Speaker 8: in the front in the cockpit, we're going to put
- 18:28Speaker 8: like half the cats in the front.
- 18:30Speaker 2: Oh, no, not that.
- 18:31Speaker 1: You know, Carol's elated. And the reason why is because
- 18:34Speaker 1: we're going to be able to help her out on
- 18:35Speaker 1: her program. And at the end of the day, we're
- 18:38Speaker 1: getting something out of this, too. You know, we got
- 18:42Speaker 1: this plane on a mission. We went out. It was
- 18:44Speaker 1: a drug plane. It was seized. We went in. It
- 18:46Speaker 1: was really wild that we got it. But now that
- 18:49Speaker 1: we have it and we're using it and we can
- 18:51Speaker 1: kind of give back, I mean, we're pirates, yeah, but
- 18:53Speaker 1: sometimes you've got to give back. And to run a
- 18:56Speaker 1: mission like this and rescue all these animals and help
- 18:59Speaker 1: Carol out in the same time and do something good,
- 19:02Speaker 1: you know what? It just makes it all worthwhile. So
- 19:05Speaker 1: I'm happy. Carol's happy. Walter's happy. We're all ready to go.
- 19:09Speaker 1: We can make this happen. So tomorrow, we just have
- 19:11Speaker 1: to get together and work out the logistics. You know,
- 19:29Speaker 1: we get this ship. It's a cargo vessel. It was
- 19:31Speaker 1: seized from drug traffickers. It was loaded down with a
- 19:34Speaker 1: lot of cocaine. Well, we got it, and now we
- 19:37Speaker 1: have to take a look at it and see what
- 19:39Speaker 1: the deal is. I get a call from the inspector.
- 19:41Speaker 1: You know, he's working on my behalf to see what
- 19:43Speaker 1: this ship needs to put it back in service. Well,
- 19:46Speaker 1: by the time the guy stopped laughing when I asked
- 19:49Speaker 1: him what the it need, he told me what it needs,
- 19:52Speaker 1: that it needs to be sunk. So guess what? I
- 19:58Speaker 1: found this program that they were doing, making artificial reefs
- 20:02Speaker 1: out of these type ships. And I says, well, what
- 20:05Speaker 1: the heck? Why not? We'll donate the ship to them.
- 20:08Speaker 1: We get a write-off. You know, we're pirates. You still
- 20:11Speaker 1: got to give back. I called Daryl up. I says, hey,
- 20:16Speaker 1: come on, take a ride with me. We're going to
- 20:18Speaker 1: go look at a ship.
- 20:20Speaker 6: What's up, brother?
- 20:21Speaker 1: Hey, Tony, Tony, what's up? Talk to me.
- 20:24Speaker 3: How are you?
- 20:25Speaker 1: All right, brother.
- 20:25Speaker 2: All right.
- 20:26Speaker 1: We're going to head out to look at this ship.
- 20:29Speaker 1: Cargo ship that we got, ship inspectors looked at it
- 20:31Speaker 1: to appraise it and see would it need it. He said,
- 20:35Speaker 1: you could build two ships and what that one's going
- 20:37Speaker 1: to cost to rebuild. It's not worth it.
- 20:38Speaker 3: No.
- 20:39Speaker 1: I hooked up with this organization. Over here in Fort Pierce,
- 20:43Speaker 1: they are making artificial reefs out of old cargo ships.
- 20:48Speaker 6: Nice, okay.
- 20:49Speaker 1: They'll take these ships, they sanitize them, they take everything
- 20:52Speaker 1: out of them, clean them all up, get them all ready,
- 20:54Speaker 1: so that they take it out and sink it. And
- 20:56Speaker 1: then people dive it, and then it becomes a live
- 20:58Speaker 1: reef at some point in time. The thing I like
- 21:01Speaker 1: about this is... This ship was a drug-running ship. It
- 21:04Speaker 1: ran a lot of loads. And the reason why I'm
- 21:07Speaker 1: bringing you is because you and I are going to
- 21:09Speaker 1: live our old days. Walking around that ship is like
- 21:12Speaker 1: back in our day.
- 21:12Speaker 7: It is.
- 21:13Speaker 1: Remember how many of those you boarded?
- 21:14Speaker 6: I know.
- 21:15Speaker 1: You know how much dope you've taken off these cargo ships?
- 21:17Speaker 1: Let me tell you something. There's nothing better than seeing...
- 21:20Speaker 1: One of these vessels that was used for nothing but
- 21:23Speaker 1: smuggling drugs to become a reef.
- 21:25Speaker 5: It's going to get blown up and sunk.
- 21:27Speaker 1: Yeah. Drug boat going down. Drug boat going down. Wow.
- 21:32Speaker 1: After hearing what these people are doing with this ship
- 21:35Speaker 1: to make it a reef, man, they are doing amazing work.
- 21:39Speaker 3: Jim.
- 21:39Speaker 7: Tony.
- 21:40Speaker 1: How you doing, buddy? Great to see you again. How
- 21:42Speaker 1: you doing? Tony Pagaro. Pleasure.
- 21:44Speaker 12: Mark Musick. Mark, pleasure to meet you. Hi, I'm Mark Musick.
- 21:48Speaker 12: I'm a planetary scientist.
- 21:50Speaker 2: Hi, my name is Krista Stone.
- 21:52Speaker 3: My name's Katrina Collins. I'm the director of MNPS Environmental,
- 21:55Speaker 3: and we are the 501 that is doing the fundraisings
- 21:58Speaker 3: to deploy the Boise Bernadetti.
- 22:00Speaker 1: Hello, I'm Jim Oppenborn.
- 22:02Speaker 2: I'm the St.
- 22:02Speaker 9: Lucie County Artificial Reef Coordinator, and this is the Boise Bernadette.
- 22:08Speaker 1: She was built in Germany, in.
- 22:09Speaker 9: Flindersburg, Germany, in 1965, and was a legitimate freighter for
- 22:14Speaker 9: a number of decades. Finally she was sold into the
- 22:17Speaker 9: drug trade and confiscated twice, not once, but twice by U.S.
- 22:22Speaker 1: Customs. Wow, I can't believe what they've done to this thing.
- 22:33Speaker 1: The last time I saw this boat, I mean, it
- 22:35Speaker 1: was a ship. It was a cargo ship. And if
- 22:38Speaker 1: you look over here, hey, Daryl, the Xs. There's the Xs.
- 22:42Speaker 1: Every X means that's where bales of cocaine were. And
- 22:46Speaker 1: if you count all the Xs, there was literally tons
- 22:49Speaker 1: of cocaine. Tons of cocaine on this vessel. You know,
- 22:54Speaker 1: looking at these drug traffickers, if they went into legitimate business,
- 22:58Speaker 1: they would be part of the Fortune 500 group. I mean,
- 23:01Speaker 1: these guys are so innovative. They're so creative. They come
- 23:04Speaker 1: up with ways that they can smuggle drugs that you
- 23:06Speaker 1: can't imagine. It's just amazing to see their work. Sometimes
- 23:10Speaker 1: I got to admire them, but we.
- 23:12Speaker 2: Also catch them.
- 23:13Speaker 1: Literally millions and millions of dollars would have been generated
- 23:17Speaker 1: from the sale of this cocaine. And how many lives
- 23:21Speaker 1: would have been impacted? How many lives would have been destroyed?
- 23:25Speaker 1: It's unmeasurable. I mean, this is... This is almost like history.
- 23:29Speaker 5: It is.
- 23:30Speaker 1: I mean, this is going back. This boat was used
- 23:32Speaker 1: back and forth.
- 23:33Speaker 5: How many times it went into the.
- 23:34Speaker 1: Port of Miami?
- 23:34Speaker 5: Who knows?
- 23:35Speaker 1: You know, walking around this ship brought back a lot
- 23:37Speaker 1: of memories. Back in the day, me with a dog,
- 23:40Speaker 1: searching these ships, going around, finding these drugs that are
- 23:43Speaker 1: on board these ships. It's amazing.
- 23:45Speaker 3: There was evidence of families living on board with children
- 23:49Speaker 3: of all ages.
- 23:49Speaker 5: There was children's bicycles. There were dolls. There were small toys.
- 23:53Speaker 5: It was absolutely disgusting. The smell was horrendous. The whole
- 23:58Speaker 5: thing was horrific.
- 23:59Speaker 12: We got a new home, a new way of utilizing
- 24:02Speaker 12: these ships so they're not junk, they're not trash.
- 24:05Speaker 1: They're going to become.
- 24:05Speaker 12: Homes for fish, coral, sponges, and basically any marine organism
- 24:11Speaker 12: that wants to call it home.
- 24:13Speaker 1: You and I were both part of the cocaine cowboy days. Oh,
- 24:15Speaker 1: I was right there.
- 24:16Speaker 5: I lived through it.
- 24:17Speaker 1: Exactly. And, you know, those were the days that drug
- 24:21Speaker 1: smugglers were just blowing drugs into the United States left
- 24:24Speaker 1: and right. We're in 2018. And look, it's still happening.
- 24:30Speaker 5: It's still happening.
- 24:31Speaker 1: But this one, this is a benefit. This one's going
- 24:34Speaker 1: to go down the right way. The drug traffickers went
- 24:38Speaker 1: to jail. The drugs got seized, so they didn't get
- 24:42Speaker 1: on the streets. The ship is going to be turned
- 24:44Speaker 1: into a reef, which is going to help the ecosystem.
- 24:46Speaker 1: This is going to be a win-win-win all the way around.
- 24:50Speaker 1: It's a good thing.
- 24:51Speaker 11: With projects such as the artificial reef and projects like
- 24:55Speaker 11: Voicy Bernadetti, we have been able to have science back
- 25:00Speaker 11: up data that proves that the oculina coral are now
- 25:04Speaker 11: starting to grow back off the Fort Pierce Inlet.
- 25:08Speaker 2: It's pretty amazing.
- 25:09Speaker 1: Me and Tony are walking around.
- 25:10Speaker 9: Tony's showing me this ship, how we went through different
- 25:14Speaker 9: cargo areas.
- 25:15Speaker 5: We went into the engine room. We went into the
- 25:18Speaker 5: high top where they do the.
- 25:19Speaker 1: Driving of the boat. And it's pretty amazing. It brought
- 25:22Speaker 1: back memories.
- 25:23Speaker 5: It's a good thing to see.
- 25:25Speaker 1: Wow. Oh, yeah. They got this thing ready to rock
- 25:29Speaker 1: and roll, man. This thing's going to go down.
- 25:30Speaker 6: Whoop.
- 25:32Speaker 1: It's a nice view up there.
- 25:33Speaker 6: It is.
- 25:33Speaker 1: I mean, just think, somebody was standing here driving this,
- 25:36Speaker 1: looking straight out over here. And all the dope was
- 25:39Speaker 1: just sitting right there. And they pulled right in like
- 25:42Speaker 1: it was nothing. Amazing. Amazing.
- 25:45Speaker 12: Truth is, the reason everybody moves to Florida, especially this area,
- 25:49Speaker 12: is the natural beauty that surrounds us. It is the
- 25:51Speaker 12: largest estuary in North America. There are 4,000 different plant
- 25:56Speaker 12: and animal species that call the estuary home.
- 25:59Speaker 1: You know, the water quality is the lifeblood of Florida.
- 26:02Speaker 9: We wanted to make sure that we were clean and
- 26:05Speaker 9: clear and not harmful to the marine life.
- 26:07Speaker 1: That's our mission.
- 26:09Speaker 12: As a friend of mine likes to say, the structure
- 26:11Speaker 12: might be artificial, but the reef is alive.
- 26:15Speaker 1: You know, Darryl, every time we used to board one
- 26:16Speaker 1: of these, the guys would always have a lot of weapons.
- 26:18Speaker 6: Oh, yeah.
- 26:19Speaker 1: Protecting the ship, basically, is what they're doing. This ship
- 26:22Speaker 1: was filled with weapons. It had to be.
- 26:24Speaker 9: With that much cocaine on this boat, they were all carrying.
- 26:26Speaker 1: Yeah, they had some good automatic weapons that they were
- 26:28Speaker 1: going to, yeah, because they were going to take no chances.
- 26:30Speaker 1: Pirates were not going to take this over. No, they
- 26:32Speaker 1: don't back down.
- 26:32Speaker 6: No.
- 26:34Speaker 1: And look at the other side over here, too. It's
- 26:36Speaker 1: completely rusted out. I mean, I don't even like standing
- 26:39Speaker 1: on this. This boat's made to go down.
- 26:42Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 27:05Speaker 6: What's up, Wilson Walter?
- 27:15Speaker 8: So I would say we could probably do more than 100.
- 27:18Speaker 1: Yep, probably.
- 27:19Speaker 2: Absolutely, depending on the size of the animals.
- 27:21Speaker 1: So after my previous meeting with Walter, we touched base
- 27:23Speaker 1: to make sure everything was a go.
- 27:25Speaker 6: Very nice.
- 27:27Speaker 5: I'm impressed, Tony.
- 27:28Speaker 3: Hey, Tony.
- 27:28Speaker 1: How you doing, bro? Good to see you. You remember Carol.
- 27:30Speaker 3: Hi.
- 27:30Speaker 6: Hi, from the sexy game.
- 27:32Speaker 4: Hi.
- 27:32Speaker 2: How are you doing?
- 27:33Speaker 6: Good.
- 27:34Speaker 7: Good.
- 27:35Speaker 1: So the cost is ready to go? The cost is
- 27:37Speaker 1: ready to go. Okay. And we got everything cleared for
- 27:39Speaker 1: the flight and all that stuff?
- 27:41Speaker 6: Yep.
- 27:41Speaker 2: I've got all the clearances. Customs has been filed.
- 27:44Speaker 1: Everything is all good.
- 27:45Speaker 8: Everybody's so super excited.
- 27:47Speaker 6: You have no clue.
- 27:48Speaker 8: Good.
- 27:48Speaker 6: Good.
- 27:49Speaker 1: We'll make it work. This deal is done. We figured
- 27:51Speaker 1: out a great price. We can do it. Everything's good.
- 27:55Speaker 1: What else is going on?
- 27:56Speaker 2: We just got us a helicopter that we got to
- 27:59Speaker 2: go test run here.
- 28:00Speaker 1: Just to recap, that's the same dodgy helicopter that that
- 28:04Speaker 1: guy tried to sell us.
- 28:07Speaker 10: So actually, you guys came just in the right time
- 28:08Speaker 10: because we got to go for a little ride.
- 28:10Speaker 5: Oh, no, no, I'm not going for a ride.
- 28:12Speaker 1: Oh, no, no. We already said you. It's not a plane.
- 28:15Speaker 1: It's a helicopter.
- 28:16Speaker 5: Okay, it's the same thing. It just goes up.
- 28:19Speaker 2: Totally different. Totally different.
- 28:22Speaker 5: They're not getting me on no chopper.
- 28:23Speaker 1: See that bird right there? That's the one we're going in.
- 28:26Speaker 1: Come on.
- 28:27Speaker 5: I'm not so sure about that.
- 28:28Speaker 1: Come on.
- 28:29Speaker 5: Are you smoking crack?
- 28:30Speaker 2: Nah, don't worry.
- 28:31Speaker 5: This thing has no f * * * ing doors.
- 28:33Speaker 1: I know. Don't worry about it. Doors are for sissies.
- 28:36Speaker 1: Her eyes got like this big. I'm like, relax. Look
- 28:40Speaker 1: at it this way, Curly.
- 28:42Speaker 3: I don't know.
- 28:42Speaker 5: I can't do this.
- 28:43Speaker 8: I don't ride bitch on someone else's bike. I ride
- 28:46Speaker 8: my own bike for a reason. You could put me
- 28:48Speaker 8: in a helicopter, but I better be flying it. You
- 28:51Speaker 8: could put me in a parachute, but that parachute better
- 28:53Speaker 8: be on my back, no one else's back.
- 28:55Speaker 5: You put me in a helicopter.
- 28:57Speaker 8: With no doors, this is not going to go well.
- 29:00Speaker 1: You got to press that button there when you want
- 29:01Speaker 1: to talk.
- 29:01Speaker 5: Hold it down?
- 29:02Speaker 1: You just press it. While I'm screaming?
- 29:05Speaker 6: Oh, boy.
- 29:06Speaker 1: This is going to be interesting. Turning blades. Feels really
- 29:39Speaker 1: nice and smooth. Great day for flying. Yeah, it's gorgeous.
- 29:59Speaker 1: We're out flying around, and everything's going cool, everything's fine,
- 30:03Speaker 1: and then all of a sudden, something happens.
- 30:05Speaker 2: What's that.
- 30:07Speaker 6: Noise? Things are kind of behaving weird.
- 30:10Speaker 1: Yeah, I don't know what this thing's doing. Oh, oh, whoa, whoa, whoa.
- 30:36Speaker 1: You know, if I was screwing around with Carol, it
- 30:38Speaker 1: would be funny. But it's not. Walter was really struggling
- 30:41Speaker 1: trying to control this chopper. Why are you doing this?
- 30:56Speaker 9: Got to chop it right here and see if I
- 30:59Speaker 9: can get us down here.
- 31:00Speaker 1: Here we go, here we go, here we go.
- 31:03Speaker 6: Nice job. Oh, fuck.
- 31:06Speaker 1: What the fuck was that all about? I don't have
- 31:08Speaker 1: any fucking clue.
- 31:09Speaker 6: I'm leaving.
- 31:11Speaker 8: I'm getting off this fucking thing now.
- 31:13Speaker 6: All right, hold on.
- 31:14Speaker 1: Cal, Cal, don't go anywhere. Just don't go anywhere.
- 31:17Speaker 6: Stay in the helicopter.
- 31:18Speaker 1: Stay in the helicopter. Just relax. You know, we went
- 31:26Speaker 1: from shits and giggles to holy crap, this is bad.
- 31:42Speaker 1: Carol was really scared. And let me tell you something.
- 31:44Speaker 1: Walt is trying to figure out what's going on with
- 31:46Speaker 1: this helicopter. And thank God he's the pilot. Because if not,
- 31:49Speaker 1: I won't be talking to you today.
- 31:51Speaker 2: So I open up some of the engine panels. I
- 31:53Speaker 2: start looking around.
- 31:54Speaker 10: And lo and behold, I find a very simple thing
- 31:58Speaker 10: that happened that caused all of our problems.
- 32:01Speaker 2: Tony, I figured it out. Somebody didn't cotter pin a connection.
- 32:07Speaker 1: Oh, crap. In every bolt that's put on flying equipment,
- 32:11Speaker 1: there is a pin that goes through and they bend
- 32:13Speaker 1: it over to assure that the vibration doesn't back that
- 32:16Speaker 1: bolt out, and that's exactly what happened.
- 32:18Speaker 10: And around and around we went, and up and down
- 32:20Speaker 10: we went. So all I had to do was take,
- 32:23Speaker 10: put that back on, and I made a makeshift pin
- 32:25Speaker 10: that cotter pinned it, closed it to where it was
- 32:27Speaker 10: safe to be able to go fly the aircraft again,
- 32:29Speaker 10: and we're ready to go.
- 32:30Speaker 2: So that's why we lost a fuel controller.
- 32:34Speaker 1: Ah, that's why the gauge dropped the way it did.
- 32:36Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 32:36Speaker 10: So that's the reason why it went high, and then
- 32:38Speaker 10: all the vibration came on, and then came out.
- 32:40Speaker 2: And that's the reason why we were spinning, because we
- 32:41Speaker 2: had so much torque.
- 32:42Speaker 1: Right, right, right. Most simplest thing.
- 32:45Speaker 2: The bolt didn't come all the way out.
- 32:47Speaker 1: So we got it.
- 32:48Speaker 2: It was in the bottom.
- 32:49Speaker 6: Right.
- 32:49Speaker 2: So I'm going to re-pin it, and you should be
- 32:51Speaker 2: able to get back out of here.
- 32:52Speaker 6: Cool.
- 32:53Speaker 2: Cool.
- 32:54Speaker 1: Now that we found out what the problem is, I
- 32:56Speaker 1: got a bigger problem. I got to convince Carol to
- 32:58Speaker 1: get back into this helicopter and fly out of here. Ha!
- 33:01Speaker 1: If you think that's easy, you don't know Carol. Okay?
- 33:04Speaker 5: I'm not getting back on that thing.
- 33:06Speaker 1: Yeah, you are. Yeah, you are. You have to.
- 33:08Speaker 5: No, someone can come help me out.
- 33:09Speaker 1: Carol, look, you're in the middle of nowhere, okay?
- 33:12Speaker 8: I'm like, no, Tony.
- 33:15Speaker 1: We're out in the Everglades. I mean, there's nothing out
- 33:17Speaker 1: there but gators. Like, you can't walk around here, you know? So, no,
- 33:22Speaker 1: there's no way I'm letting her just wander around here.
- 33:25Speaker 1: She'll become lunch meat for some gator. It's done. It's
- 33:28Speaker 1: over with. We're going to be, Carol... Carol, where are
- 33:31Speaker 1: you going? Carol, where are you going?
- 33:34Speaker 6: Anybody out here?
- 33:35Speaker 1: No, no, there's nobody out here, Carol.
- 33:38Speaker 6: Carol.
- 33:39Speaker 1: I've never seen Carol like this. She's tough as nails.
- 33:43Speaker 1: I will stay with you. I'll sit back. We'll put
- 33:45Speaker 1: the camera guy up front. I'll go in the back
- 33:47Speaker 1: with you, and we'll ride back together.
- 33:50Speaker 5: You promise?
- 33:50Speaker 1: I promise.
- 33:53Speaker 5: But wait, he tried to convince me. Now you convince me, sir.
- 33:56Speaker 1: Oh, we're all good. We're all good.
- 33:57Speaker 2: I found out exactly what it was. And look, you
- 33:59Speaker 2: just survived a helicopter crash, right?
- 34:02Speaker 1: Now listen, listen.
- 34:04Speaker 10: The chances of you ever having another one is almost
- 34:07Speaker 10: slim to none.
- 34:08Speaker 8: So I get back on the chopper and I made
- 34:11Speaker 8: Tony sit in the back with me and I sat
- 34:13Speaker 8: in the middle.
- 34:14Speaker 5: On the flight back.
- 34:15Speaker 1: I jumped in with her, put my arm around her,
- 34:18Speaker 1: strapped her in. and hugged her all the way back.
- 34:22Speaker 1: I still think I got the marks around my hand
- 34:24Speaker 1: and wrist from her squeezing me.
- 34:34Speaker 8: The only thing I really wanted was to get my
- 34:36Speaker 8: feet back on land.
- 34:53Speaker 1: You know, once we land it, touch the ground, there
- 34:56Speaker 1: was good old Carol. She came right back to her
- 34:58Speaker 1: old self again.
- 35:00Speaker 9: We did it!
- 35:04Speaker 6: Motherfucker!
- 35:06Speaker 5: Back on dry land, done with the choppers.
- 35:10Speaker 8: I will ride my motorcycle standing up, frontwards, backwards, drive.
- 35:14Speaker 5: My RV, race my cars... and continuing being crazy on
- 35:20Speaker 5: the ground.
- 35:22Speaker 1: All right, that's all that counts. You're on the ground,
- 35:24Speaker 1: we're back, you're safe, everything's good.
- 35:26Speaker 5: I can breathe.
- 35:27Speaker 1: You're good, you're good, okay? Obviously, this chopper needs some work,
- 35:33Speaker 1: so we're gonna get the mechanics on it, let them
- 35:35Speaker 1: go through the entire helicopter, make sure all the safety
- 35:37Speaker 1: checks are done, make sure there's no missing carter pins.
- 35:40Speaker 1: We're gonna sell it, we're gonna flip it, but we
- 35:42Speaker 1: ain't doing it today. You know, I would tell you
- 35:50Speaker 1: about this buyer, but, you know, a lot of our buyers,
- 35:52Speaker 1: they don't want nobody to know who they are or
- 35:55Speaker 1: where they're from. But at the end of the day,
- 35:58Speaker 1: we made bank. Let me give you the breakdown. We
- 36:02Speaker 1: bought it for $ 350, 000. We put about $ 150, 000 into it.
- 36:03Speaker 1: And we sold it for $ 750, 000.
- 36:05Speaker 6: That's a $ 250, 000 payday.
- 36:05Speaker 1: Not bad for a day's work. Now that the choppers
- 36:28Speaker 1: are done deal, we haven't forgot about Carol.
- 36:34Speaker 13: We are here in absolute chaos.
- 36:37Speaker 2: Organized chaos, actually.
- 36:39Speaker 13: And I don't know how many dogs this is, but
- 36:40Speaker 13: this is our second load for the week. And there's
- 36:43Speaker 13: a bunch of amazing people here helping us load.
- 36:47Speaker 5: This is what magic is made out of.
- 36:50Speaker 13: Lots of people helping to get creatures to safety.
- 36:54Speaker 1: It was amazing.
- 36:56Speaker 13: Kind of like what I would imagine an apocalypse would
- 36:58Speaker 13: be like with trash everywhere and a lot of heartbreak.
- 37:03Speaker 14: In the chaos and ruin left behind by Hurricane Maria
- 37:06Speaker 14: in Puerto Rico, pets were an afterthought.
- 37:10Speaker 5: In order to escape, these.
- 37:11Speaker 13: People had to get on a plane.
- 37:13Speaker 8: So.
- 37:14Speaker 13: The animals were not allowed on commercial flight, so the.
- 37:17Speaker 1: Amount of animal dumping was overwhelming.
- 37:21Speaker 13: You can tell we're owned and loved pets on every
- 37:24Speaker 13: street corner.
- 37:25Speaker 14: And that's where Animal Rescue's based in South Florida stepped in,
- 37:29Speaker 14: creating the Coalition for Animal Rescue. Together, they found a plane,
- 37:33Speaker 14: raised funds for fuel, and filled it to the brim
- 37:36Speaker 14: with pet supplies, generators, and food 10 times. Those 10
- 37:40Speaker 14: flights back, however, had a very different kind of cargo.
- 37:44Speaker 13: We have been able to secure flights back for close
- 37:48Speaker 13: to 1,500 animals now. It's been such an overwhelmingly beautiful experience.
- 37:54Speaker 1: Of course, there is.
- 37:55Speaker 13: Medical expenses that are associated with those animals coming back.
- 37:59Speaker 5: Many of them are injured.
- 38:00Speaker 13: We've had a lot of orthopedic issues, hit by cars,
- 38:03Speaker 13: injured during the storms.
- 38:05Speaker 14: While the coalition has had help and donors from across
- 38:08Speaker 14: the country, they still have a lot of work to accomplish.
- 38:12Speaker 13: Monetary donations are massively needed. We are continuing to bring
- 38:17Speaker 13: animals stateside, but we've started what we call our phase
- 38:20Speaker 13: two in the coalition, which is sterilization programs across the
- 38:25Speaker 13: island of Puerto.
- 38:26Speaker 5: Rico, St. Thomas, and St.
- 38:27Speaker 3: John.
- 38:29Speaker 1: The Casa was a perfect plane for this operation. We
- 38:32Speaker 1: were able to get all those dogs back. There's nothing
- 38:34Speaker 1: better than helping all of those animals and a good
- 38:36Speaker 1: friend at the same time. Let me recap. I met with.
- 38:41Speaker 2: Kelly about the plane I brought back from Belize.
- 38:44Speaker 1: She was out of pocket, so I handled it myself. Yeah,
- 38:47Speaker 1: something you don't do. Kelly made it very, very clear. Dude,
- 38:50Speaker 1: it's been a pleasure. I'll catch you later, man.
- 38:53Speaker 4: You've told me this a million times.
- 38:55Speaker 1: I got it.
- 38:56Speaker 2: You're really pissing me off right now.
- 38:58Speaker 5: I need for you to stay.
- 38:59Speaker 6: Out of it.
- 38:59Speaker 12: Okay.
- 39:00Speaker 1: Got the bell ranger Walter was talking about. Went over
- 39:03Speaker 1: to see the seller. To me, that guy is a
- 39:06Speaker 1: little sketchy. I'm not comfortable, and I want to walk
- 39:09Speaker 1: away from this deal. Walter got a hold of the
- 39:11Speaker 1: real owner, and we made the deal. After that, I
- 39:15Speaker 1: ended up getting with Carol. Tells me about moving all
- 39:18Speaker 1: these dogs from Puerto Rico.
- 39:20Speaker 6: Oh, OK.
- 39:20Speaker 1: So then I got to get her up to Archangel.
- 39:23Speaker 1: She meets with Walt. We get to put together a
- 39:25Speaker 1: deal over there that leads us to transport all these
- 39:28Speaker 1: dogs with our casa. I find out that this ship
- 39:31Speaker 1: that we ended up getting was really not good enough
- 39:35Speaker 1: to go back to work. So we have to make
- 39:37Speaker 1: it a reef. So we're gonna donate it to a
- 39:39Speaker 1: group that does artificial reef restoration. We go back to
- 39:43Speaker 1: Archangel with Carol. We're gonna take this helicopter up on
- 39:47Speaker 1: a shakedown flight. Great. What could happen on the shakedown flight? Damn,
- 39:51Speaker 1: bolt comes off. We end up almost crashing. Walter did
- 39:54Speaker 1: a great job saving our lives, but I had to
- 39:57Speaker 1: deal with Carol. Carol don't like me very much at
- 39:59Speaker 1: that point, but we worked it all out. Everybody's home safe.
- 40:04Speaker 1: About a 50, 55-foot work boat. Now, one thing about this,
- 40:08Speaker 1: you know, it has to be quick. You got about
- 40:10Speaker 1: 48 hours. So you guys are all set to fly out,
- 40:13Speaker 1: and you're going to fly into the D.R.? We could
- 40:15Speaker 1: be about five minutes out now. Hey, guys, we got
- 40:17Speaker 1: five minutes out. Anybody, any looky-loos, anything? So far, nothing.
- 40:20Speaker 6: Perfect. Good.
- 40:21Speaker 2: Well, let's just do this quick.
- 40:23Speaker 1: Yeah, let's get out of here. I can't believe nobody's here.
- 40:25Speaker 1: This is too easy.
- 40:27Speaker 4: OK.
- 40:27Speaker 6: Gracias.
- 40:28Speaker 4: Gracias.
- 40:29Speaker 1: No. I'm out here. The guy telling me go this way.
- 40:34Speaker 11: Perfect.
- 40:35Speaker 7: Deal, bud.
- 40:35Speaker 5: If you send us on a wild goose chase with
- 40:37Speaker 5: these batteries that you.
- 40:38Speaker 6: Don't need, send us through God knows where.
- 40:42Speaker 1: So now what happened? You think the insurance paid off
- 40:44Speaker 1: on it, and that's how we ended up with it?
- 40:45Speaker 1: We got a bid on it?
- 40:46Speaker 2: That's exactly what happened.
- 40:48Speaker 1: All right, dude.
- 40:48Speaker 8: Well, look.
- 40:49Speaker 1: We're burning data.
- 40:50Speaker 10: Give me one more pass.
- 40:52Speaker 1: I want to try to check to see if there's
- 40:54Speaker 1: a line. Yeah, I'm looking at a line on the stern.
- 41:07Speaker 2: Let me know when you're ready to go.
- 41:08Speaker 1: The guy's getting out of the car and he looks
- 41:10Speaker 1: like he's going to be walking this way.
- 41:11Speaker 5: Let's get out of here.
- 41:12Speaker 6: All right.
- 41:15Speaker 1: Hey, you grab down. Grab the other car. We'll meet
- 41:17Speaker 1: at the rounding point. Come on, camera guys. Get the
- 41:21Speaker 1: f * * * over here.
- 41:24Speaker 6: Go, go, go.
- 41:26Speaker 1: Dude, it's been a pleasure. I'll catch you later, man.
- 41:28Speaker 1: Got another one.
- 41:31Speaker 3: We'll be right back.
- 41:43Speaker 1: MUSIC CONTINUES
- 42:14Speaker 7: Thank you.
