- 0:03Here's your host, Alex Garrett. All right, well we are on the
- 0:17first of December. I can't believe we're in the twelfth month of the year.
- 0:21But if I sound like I got shot out of a cannon, cause
- 0:25I got some exciting news here on the Alex Garet podcast Network. While many
- 0:29are backing away from X and saying this, that and the other, I'm
- 0:33embracing it. I've actually just applied so many different notifications to different local outlets,
- 0:41national outlets, and we're gonna be on top of the news, the
- 0:44sports world and maybe even get some guest ideas out of all these post notifications
- 0:50from various pages. And I highly recommend if you want to be in the
- 0:55know, you log in to your ex account and uh and be notified and
- 1:02get get going and get get knowing about what about the latest through your favorite
- 1:10news sources, sports sources and whatnot. On that note, one account that
- 1:15I follow and that I continue to work with is Fetch, And of course
- 1:22Fetch is a receipt collector, meaning you get to take a picture or take
- 1:32a snaps out of your receipt. You get points, so you make the
- 1:36best out of her receipts and My theory coming to the holiday season with Fetch
- 1:42is this, while we want to do the most good this Christmas season as
- 1:48we do every year, why not put that good into points for yourself?
- 2:00What I mean by that is if you go in and buy food for the
- 2:04church pantry, or you go out and get clothes for the local clothing drive,
- 2:08or however you do things and support others this Christmas season. Let's face
- 2:15it, times are tough, so why don't we also take advantage of the
- 2:23chances to also help ourselves out this Christmas season. It might sound selfish,
- 2:29but hear me out because inflation right now is a three point five percent.
- 2:35Because I think every penny counts in this economy, don't you? So why
- 2:40not make our money work for us this Christmas season as we also how about
- 2:47those really in need? It can work and if you snap your snapshots of
- 2:54the receipts, you can get things like points on Unilever products. If you
- 3:04spend twenty dollars on mix and Match offers through the Fetch app, you get
- 3:07five thousand points. You even get right now three hundred dollars in gift cards
- 3:14ten winners if you just enter on Instagram through the leader of the whole account,
- 3:20Wes who founded Fetch. Right now on Instagram, you can be in
- 3:27the running for a three hundred dollars gift card to either Target or pec Goo
- 3:31And that's pretty cool. And that's the kind of stuff Fetch does for you
- 3:38this and every season. So join us on the Fetch journey. Fetch your
- 3:44receipts right now. And again, if you feel pressure, well how can
- 3:47I make all these points? Well? Have it more naturally if you buy
- 3:53something that's gonna be someone else, you two might be able to get also
- 4:00a little little help in your own holiday season shopping through Fetch. Just download
- 4:09the app and then of course you can utilize my code. There is a
- 4:13code out there that I have and I'd love to share with you right now.
- 4:18G one three m R four. You're going to see that on the
- 4:24inbox below and the description below of this podcast. And I would say the
- 4:30same with Upside. You know, if you out to family dinners, you
- 4:32can always utilize Upside in the restaurant for cash back this Christmas season. It's
- 4:40you've got a lot of ways to also help out yourself while giving to others
- 4:46this holiday season. Because again we want to help out, but we also
- 4:49have to recognize times are tough and if there's a way to help help ourselves
- 4:58out well giving back, it can work. It's a weird paradox, I
- 5:03guess you'd say, but Fetch makes it possible. Upside makes it possible,
- 5:08and I definitely want to encourage you to join those apps today as we hit
- 5:15the Christmas season, and of course if you get enough points, you can
- 5:19actually then utilize it to get gift cards for loved ones as well. Through
- 5:26Fetch. I mean they partner with a lot of brands, they really do,
- 5:30so I encourage you to check them out right now, and while doing
- 5:35the most good, you can also help yourself out as well. It might
- 5:44sound selfish, but in the economy like this is getting an edge really selfish?
- 5:50I don't think so, I really don't. And Fetch, Upside and
- 5:55others like Survey Junkie help you get an edge this holiday season for sure.
- 6:01Now, one little news bit today which I found interesting is okay, so
- 6:08George Santos is getting expelled, But I want you to hear what Mike Johnson
- 6:14said earlier this week. I mentioned the speaker before. I mentioned the speaker
- 6:17before, but He literally is I would say, slow rolling the Biden impeachment
- 6:28inquiry. And to me, that's not a terrible thing because he wants to
- 6:35know the facts before they rapidly go after Biden. Remember remember the Trump impeachment
- 6:51inquiries. Both of them seemed to be a bit rush, seemed to be
- 6:56a bit politically driven, not so much fact based driven. So I'm glad
- 7:01we have someone in power as a speaker that wants to literally slow things down
- 7:15and figure it all out, figure it all out. He's common sense,
- 7:20I think. And just take a little listen to what Speaker Johnson had to
- 7:28say out his press conference this week. Thank you all for being here.
- 7:30These are serious times and this is a very serious matter. And I've said
- 7:34many times over the last few years, because impeachment has been an issue that
- 7:39we've all become all too familiar with that next to the declaration of war,
- 7:44you can make an argument that impeachment maybe the heaviest power that Congress holds.
- 7:48That constitutional responsibility lies with the House. We have a duty to pursue the
- 7:55facts where they lead. John Adams famously said facts are stubborn things, and
- 7:59you heard her recitation of that here This morning. These facts are alarming.
- 8:03They're alarming to the American people, they are alarming to us. And so
- 8:05while we take no pleasure and the proceedings here, we have a responsibility to
- 8:11do it. We're very proud of the work of these three chairmen that you've
- 8:13seen here, Chairman Comer and Jordan and Smith. They've done an exceptional job
- 8:18and uncovering the obvious corruption, and you've heard it here summarized this morning very
- 8:24succinctly, President Biden and the Biden family. We owe it to the American
- 8:28people to continue this process, but to do it methodically and transparently. Many
- 8:35of you know I was I'm a lawyer, I'm a constitutional law attorney.
- 8:37I served on President Trump's impeachment defense team twice and we lamented openly and we
- 8:43decried how the Democrats politicized that process, they were brazenly political, and how
- 8:48they brought those meritless impeachment charges against the president. This what you're seeing here
- 8:54is exactly the opposite. We are the rule of law team. The Republican
- 8:58Party stands for the rule of law, and the people in charge of this
- 9:01are doing this thoroughly, carefully, methodically. They're investigating and gathering all the
- 9:07facts. And to do this appropriately, and to do it in a manner
- 9:09that upholds our constitutional responsibility, requires time. It requires a sound process.
- 9:16You don't rush something like this. You can't if you're gonna have fidelity to
- 9:18the Constitution. I'm sorry, Matt Gates. I am sorry mtg I am
- 9:26sorry the blood thirsty Republicans that might be disappointed that Speaker Johnson is actually doing
- 9:33the right thing, because they're so thirsty for someone's vote, they'll impeach again.
- 9:39I will have to go do it again, just on a different party.
- 9:43No, we learned twice with the Trump impeachments how much of a drainage
- 9:50that was, and it led to nothing. So now Mike Johnson saying we
- 9:56or will not rush it, Speaker, I think it's good that news is
- 10:03not being made by the Speaker. You know why. It means he's doing
- 10:05the right thing. It means he's not making waves. It means he is
- 10:09doing things, as he said, methodically. My god, this guy should
- 10:15be celebrated, because, you know, Speaker McCarthy was under a lot of
- 10:20fire almost every day during his term. Bainer Holder, all of them have
- 10:28fallen a bit short, don't got me started. I'm Paul Ryan. Okay,
- 10:33but this guy, for the first time since I followed politics, sounds
- 10:39like the most sensible speaker we've ever had. And that's why the media isn't
- 10:46really covering him, Isn't it because they don't want common sense. They want
- 10:50chaos. They want a chaotic speaker. They want someone who is gonna throw
- 10:54themselves in the line of fire that might actually get voted out with one republic
- 11:00one Congressman vote. They want that chaos. But what they should really want
- 11:05is someone like Mike Johnson, Speaker Johnson who is laying out the facts and
- 11:13saying, hey, we are going to go through this with no rush.
- 11:20And by the way, he has also worked with Democrats to avoid a shutdown
- 11:24in case it in here, in case it in here. So I'm sorry,
- 11:31Maga Republicans that are so ready to get Bien out of office, they'll
- 11:37do it just to rush it. Hey, isn't that what we saw with
- 11:39Democrats? They just compiled a lot of things together to try and make a
- 11:45point. They couldn't make a case for Trump's impeachment. Now you know,
- 11:52Trump wasn't impeached twice, but it led to nowhere. It's a pretty bad
- 11:56stain on him, that's for sure, but he really wasn't ousted. Now,
- 12:05I think what Johnson's looking at is how can we really impeach the president
- 12:09to make an impact on this presidency. So I am very happy that Speaker
- 12:20Johnson is doing this methodically and thoroughly, so that our time isn't wasted,
- 12:24our TV networks aren't flooded with horrors of an impeachment inquiry that seemed more politically
- 12:35and less factually driven. I still say it's amazing how Biden literally sat there
- 12:45at the Council of Foreign Relations and said, hey, you know what,
- 12:52you know what I mean? Remember when he said this, Remember when he
- 12:56said this about Ukraine. I had said for the longest time this needed to
- 13:05be played a lot. But remember this, I said, you're not getting
- 13:13a billion. Nine would be leaving here, and I think it was what
- 13:15six hours. I look at I'm leaving it six hours. If the prosecutor's
- 13:18not fired, you're not getting the money. Oh son of them got fired
- 13:24and they put in place someone who they he pressured Ukraine. Yet Trump does
- 13:31a simple phone call wanting to know, you know, just talking with his
- 13:37landscape about certain things, and that all gets scrutinized. Biden says, I
- 13:41got someone fired and held money over their head. So yeah, that is
- 13:50pretty damning that cut. And I'm I'm just proud that our Congress sounds like
- 13:58under Speaker Johnson will be, you know, back on track for better This
- 14:09Congress and every Congress since you know, we've all become adults, here has
- 14:15become an awful institution. At one point in Congress was nine percent nine percent,
- 14:24okay, So I know that he was having reservations about kicking out George
- 14:43Santos, but at the end of the day, I know he will come
- 14:48around on that as well. And it's unbelievable to think in twenty twenty three
- 14:56we've seen a speaker be a expelled and a congressman who lied about everything under
- 15:03the sun expelled as well. But this one made more sense. Speaker McCarthy's
- 15:15I think was a blessing in disguise because they finally have a common sense speaker
- 15:26and I hope that pattern continues. So links below on all this stuff discuss
- 15:31today, and we will talk to you soon on the Alex Garrett Podcast Network
