- 2:53Sunny mornings send you. In local news, the Boston
- 2:58Public Garden is set to say goodbye to a beloved
- 3:01weeping willow tree that has stood for over 50
- 3:04years. The friends of the public garden will
- 3:08remove the tree due to disease pressure and internal
- 3:11decay that poses safety risks. A sign at the
- 3:15tree expresses, we'll miss you, and emphasizes
- 3:18the need for its removal. Rebecca DiTomasso,
- 3:22Director of Capital Projects and Parks Care,
- 3:25noted that the tree, nearing the end of its natural
- 3:28lifespan, will be replaced by a healthier willow
- 3:30in the spring. DiTomasso assures parkgoers that
- 3:35new trees will be planted to foster connections,
- 3:37just like the old ones. Now on to sports. Mike
- 3:47Tomlin has no interest in shifting the weight
- 3:50of the Pittsburgh Steelers' recent playoff failures
- 3:53onto his players ahead of tonight's game against
- 3:56Houston. Tomlin stated, I'm certainly not going
- 3:59to unpack my bags on the collective's bed, if
- 4:02you will. The Steelers, with a record of 10 wins
- 4:06and 7 losses, are facing a Texans team on a 9
- 4:10-game winning streak. Aaron Rodgers acknowledged
- 4:14the pressure on Tomlin, saying it feels good
- 4:17to shut all those comments down. Steelers wide
- 4:21receiver Yike Metcalf returns after a suspension,
- 4:25expressing gratitude to his teammates. Houston's
- 4:29coach, D 'Amico Ryanes, is confident in his players'
- 4:32ability to win, stating, our guys know how to
- 4:35win football games. Kickoff is at 8 .15 on ESPN.
- 4:42in local sports. The Patriots secured a thrilling
- 4:46playoff victory over the Chargers, as head coach
- 4:49Mike Vrabel emphasized the need to be ready to
- 4:52bleed. Milton Williams celebrated the win with
- 4:56a headbutt to Vrabel, which left the coach bloodied,
- 4:59but in good spirits. Drake May threw a touchdown
- 5:03pass to Hunter Henry, while New England's defense
- 5:06stifled the Chargers offense, winning the game
- 5:0816 -3. With this victory, the Patriots will host
- 5:13either Houston or Pittsburgh in the next round,
- 5:16marking their first playoff win since the 2018
- 5:19season. In top news, new research is shedding
- 5:25light on surprising ways to reduce chronic inflammation,
- 5:29including suggestions as simple as flossing your
- 5:31teeth. Inflammation is normally beneficial, triggered
- 5:35by the immune system to help the body fight illness
- 5:38and repair injuries. However, when inflammation
- 5:42becomes chronic, it can lead to serious health
- 5:45issues. David L. Katz explains that chronic inflammation
- 5:49is a key pathway to major chronic diseases, like
- 5:53cardiovascular disease and diabetes. Fortunately,
- 5:58simple lifestyle modifications can help reduce
- 6:00inflammation, such as managing stress, exercising
- 6:04regularly, and improving oral hygiene. Engaging
- 6:09with nature and cultivating strong social connections
- 6:12can also be beneficial. In business news, living
- 6:19with family is not a last resort anymore. It's
- 6:22the plan. As the cost of living rises for Americans,
- 6:26many are moving back in with their families.
- 6:29However, a growing number of solo agers do not
- 6:32have this option. Purpose -built intergenerational
- 6:36communities are a promising solution. The number
- 6:40of people living in multi -generational households
- 6:42quadrupled from 1971 to 2021, according to Pew
- 6:47Research. Cost savings are driving this trend,
- 6:51allowing families to split expenses and reduce
- 6:54social isolation. Experts warn that there is
- 6:57no one -size -fits all -housing solution, as
- 7:01individuals have vastly different needs and preferences.
- 7:05in crypto movement. Bitcoin is up 1 % over the
- 7:09weekend to $92 ,000. Ethereum is up 1 % to just
- 7:15over $3 ,000. And XRP is down 2 % to $2 .08.

- 8:08back to the show. Let's talk tech. Job seekers
- 8:13are discovering a new source of income, training
- 8:16artificial intelligence to perform their former
- 8:19roles. Mercor, an artificial intelligence startup
- 8:23valued at $10 billion, employs tens of thousands
- 8:27of white -collar contractors. These workers review
- 8:31and critique the output of large language models
- 8:33that power chatbots and other tools. Experts
- 8:38in various fields are sought, including psychologists
- 8:41and filmmakers, with earnings up to $250 an hour.
- 8:47Despite concerns about job losses, many see their
- 8:50role in ensuring AI produces thoughtful outcomes.
- 8:54The nature of this work raises questions about
- 8:56the future of employment in their fields. And
- 9:02in entertainment news. The Golden Globes has
- 9:05made a concerted effort to improve its reputation
- 9:08after a controversy over its membership in 2021
- 9:12led to a temporary suspension of the telecast.
- 9:16Under new ownership, structural changes have
- 9:19been implemented, including no longer paying
- 9:21a salary to legacy voters. Nikki Glaser's charming
- 9:25hosting managed to balance humor and excitement,
- 9:28making the audience laugh with her playful jabs
- 9:30at celebrities. Despite the positive moments,
- 9:35distracting stunts like statistics from polymarket
- 9:38and non -jokes cluttered the ceremony. Chasing
- 9:42too many contradictory aims, The Globe's risks
- 9:45frustrating its audience while attempting to
- 9:48grow. Well, alrighty folks, it's time for the
- 9:52quote of the day. And today, our quote comes
- 9:56from the American writer and philosopher Albert
- 9:59Hubbard. And he said, And that's a wrap for this
