- 0:00SPEAKER_00: If you don't feel like you're enough, there's nothing that's going to make you feel like you're enough until you heal it.
- 0:05SPEAKER_00: We're never really upset about what we think we're upset about.
- 0:07SPEAKER_00: It's always something underneath it, something deeper that's been suppressed that needs to be integrated and released through your breath, like through the coping mechanisms.
- 0:19SPEAKER_01: Welcome to Reclaiming Consciousness.
- 0:21SPEAKER_01: My name is Elise Bassine, spiritual mentor, breath work practitioner, and owner and CEO of Elise Breeds.
- 0:28SPEAKER_01: For many years, our consciousness has been hijacked by societal and cultural programming, religion, the media, and familial and ancestral trauma.
- 0:37SPEAKER_01: Right now, during this epic time in history, people are waking up, realizing who they really are, and reclaiming the pieces of their consciousness that they unknowingly gave away.
- 0:49SPEAKER_01: This podcast is an exploration of how so many spectacular humans are leading the way in exiting the matrix and reclaiming who they really are and what they're capable of.
- 1:00SPEAKER_01: In this show, you'll meet exceptional people who are paving the way in raising consciousness and creating a new way of living on this earth.
- 1:08SPEAKER_01: Get ready to go deep.
- 1:10SPEAKER_01: Now let's dive in.
- 1:16SPEAKER_01: Hi everyone, welcome back to the show.
- 1:18SPEAKER_01: So this week we have a very special guest, my longtime client, Colleen Falto.
- 1:25SPEAKER_01: And Colleen's journey with me has been nothing short of profound.
- 1:31SPEAKER_01: If you don't know who she is, you should definitely give her a follow.
- 1:35SPEAKER_01: She is a weight loss coach.
- 1:37SPEAKER_01: She does it from a place of really deep trauma and self-love work and really helping you find the missing piece as to why you might not be losing weight.
- 1:49SPEAKER_01: She works with women who are stuck in their weight loss journey to find that missing piece for them, which is usually emotional or related to some kind of trauma or just related to the way they treat themselves on a deeper level.
- 2:05SPEAKER_01: So she really works to help you find what this missing piece is on a deeper energetic level so that you can shift it and then create the not only physical body that you want, but also just the life that you desire.
- 2:20SPEAKER_01: So her work is really amazing and she's really, really good at what she does.
- 2:24SPEAKER_01: And you're gonna hear her talk about her journey with me on this episode.
- 2:29SPEAKER_01: So Colleen worked with me privately for over a year.
- 2:34SPEAKER_01: She has been in the metamorphosis and the metamorphosis method.
- 2:38SPEAKER_01: And now she's taken the tools that she's learned from the metamorphosis method and applied it to the work that she does with clients with weight loss.
- 2:48SPEAKER_01: So it's really profound what she's doing and the way she so vulnerably shares her journey with addiction and being in a toxic relationship, and how she turned all of that around through our work together in the metamorphosis and the metamorphosis method and working together privately.
- 3:07SPEAKER_01: So it's been such an honor to be able to support her in completely transforming her life.
- 3:14SPEAKER_01: When I met her, she was a completely different person than she is today.
- 3:19SPEAKER_01: So it's just like these are the types of things that I just I thrive on because you guys all know I'm a Scorpio and I'm obsessed with big transformation.
- 3:28SPEAKER_01: And especially these women who have such a gift to share with the world to support them in getting to the place where they can really share it in a big way and make a huge impact and make a lot of money.
- 3:41SPEAKER_01: And it just feels so good.
- 3:43SPEAKER_01: So I'm really excited for you to meet Colleen.
- 3:48SPEAKER_01: A few really exciting announcements that I have.
- 3:52SPEAKER_01: So I just launched my membership, which is so exciting, you guys.
- 3:58SPEAKER_01: It's called Beyond the Matrix.
- 4:00SPEAKER_01: And this is a really easy way to get access to all of my weekly energy forecasts and channeled messages.
- 4:10SPEAKER_01: I have been getting this really strong message for a long time that I needed to be sharing my channeled messages very regularly.
- 4:19SPEAKER_01: And I needed to do it in a very sacred space, which is why I created this space called Beyond the Matrix.
- 4:27SPEAKER_01: So in the membership, you'll receive weekly channeled messages.
- 4:31SPEAKER_01: It's an energy forecast and channeled messages that are gonna be specifically for this group.
- 4:37SPEAKER_01: So the messages are gonna be aligned with the frequency that the group specifically needs so that they can be propelled forward on their own up level, their own ascension journey.
- 4:50SPEAKER_01: So it's gonna be really, really powerful.
- 4:52SPEAKER_01: And then there's also gonna be a monthly QA, a monthly recorded breathwork session that you'll receive that's again calibrated to raise your energetic frequency.
- 5:03SPEAKER_01: You're also gonna get a library of all of the masterclasses that I've done and all of the masterclasses that I will do.
- 5:11SPEAKER_01: So those are, you know, those hour-long classes that I do, you know, every couple months where I have an event and it's like a channeled transmission.
- 5:20SPEAKER_01: You will get all of the ones I've done in the past.
- 5:22SPEAKER_01: You'll have a library of them, plus you'll get all of the ones that I do in the future.
- 5:26SPEAKER_01: You'll automatically be invited, you know, as part of the membership package.
- 5:31SPEAKER_01: So right now you can get founders pricing until the 10th.
- 5:36SPEAKER_01: So it's$222 a month, or you can pay in full for six months or 12 months, which is highly discounted.
- 5:44SPEAKER_01: So definitely check it out.
- 5:46SPEAKER_01: I'm gonna put the link below.
- 5:48SPEAKER_01: Reach out to me with any questions.
- 5:49SPEAKER_01: But this is for the person who, if you've been interested in my work and you want to dip your toe in, this is the perfect way to do it.
- 5:56SPEAKER_01: Because also when you're in this community, you're gonna get support from the other women and also you're gonna get first access to all of the stuff that I'm doing at a discount.
- 6:07SPEAKER_01: So it's kind of like being in like the inner circle where you're gonna get special opportunities that other people won't.
- 6:13SPEAKER_01: Plus, it's just such an amazing way to continue to grow and deepen your connection with spirit.
- 6:20SPEAKER_01: And really, my guides were telling me this is really a way to help people access a deeper level of emotional and spiritual intelligence.
- 6:30SPEAKER_01: So if you're feeling the pull, click on the link below or reach out to me and we'll get you signed up.
- 6:36SPEAKER_01: Also, right now, I am running a sale starting today for the rest of February on my certification program, the metamorphosis method.
- 6:46SPEAKER_01: And this, you guys, is it's groundbreaking.
- 6:49SPEAKER_01: I mean, the tools that I've created to transmute familial and ancestral trauma, I don't know that there's anything else like it on the planet.
- 6:58SPEAKER_01: It's something that I know I'm meant to do on the planet and I know how to do very well.
- 7:04SPEAKER_01: And I'm going to teach you how to do it.
- 7:06SPEAKER_01: So the methodology that I created utilizes breath work, energy work, and these specific tools that I've created to move through familial and ancestral trauma and also the specific trauma framework that I've created.
- 7:21SPEAKER_01: So you will become an expert in all of these things so that you can utilize them in the work that you do with clients.
- 7:28SPEAKER_01: Because let's be real, for anybody to make any kind of changes in their lives and grow, they need to know how to move through trauma.
- 7:36SPEAKER_01: And we want to help people do it efficiently and quickly.
- 7:40SPEAKER_01: And these tools will help you do that.
- 7:42SPEAKER_01: So it's a nine-month certification program where we meet twice a month and you also will do exchanges to practice with um different partners in the group.
- 7:52SPEAKER_01: It's a beautiful community and it's uh a powerful program to join.
- 7:58SPEAKER_01: It will change you in many ways and up level you in business and life, along with giving you the tools that you can utilize in your practice to really up-level the work that you're doing with clients.
- 8:10SPEAKER_01: So right now I'm offering$2,000 off.
- 8:13SPEAKER_01: Plus, when you sign up in February, you get access to Beyond the Matrix for the duration of when you're in the program.
- 8:21SPEAKER_01: And you can also just put a deposit down.
- 8:23SPEAKER_01: And if you didn't want to start right away, you can pick your start date because it is rolling.
- 8:28SPEAKER_01: And then last but not least, the Costa Rica retreat is coming up in less than two months.
- 8:34SPEAKER_01: We are filling up, but we do have some spaces available.
- 8:38SPEAKER_01: It's going to be life-changing, epic.
- 8:42SPEAKER_01: All of the things, I'm so excited about it.
- 8:45SPEAKER_01: It is really going to be an experience that you won't forget.
- 8:48SPEAKER_01: Breath work, yoga, energy work, surfing, ziplining, the jungle, connecting deeply with people.
- 8:57SPEAKER_01: You will return a different person.
- 8:59SPEAKER_01: You will return as the version of you that you know you're meant to be.
- 9:03SPEAKER_01: My last retreat was so incredibly powerful.
- 9:05SPEAKER_01: And the bonds that were created, the shifts that were created in such a short time, I know this one is gonna be even more powerful because we're gonna be in the magical land of Costa Rica and the Osa Peninsula.
- 9:16SPEAKER_01: And also, it's gonna be a longer period of time.
- 9:19SPEAKER_01: So I know it's gonna be so good.
- 9:21SPEAKER_01: So uh reach out to me.
- 9:23SPEAKER_01: All you need right now is a$525 deposit to hold your space and the rest of the money you will pay as it gets closer.
- 9:31SPEAKER_01: And also, it's such a good price for what you get.
- 9:35SPEAKER_01: All you have to take care of outside of the retreat pricing is just your flight food, the retreat accommodations.
- 9:42SPEAKER_01: So everything else is included.
- 9:44SPEAKER_01: It's gonna be amazing.
- 9:45SPEAKER_01: We'll put the link below.
- 9:46SPEAKER_01: Reach out to me if you'd like more information.
- 9:49SPEAKER_01: And without further ado, enjoy the episode.
- 9:54SPEAKER_01: Hi, everyone.
- 9:55SPEAKER_01: Welcome back to the show.
- 9:57SPEAKER_01: So I am so excited for today's guest.
- 9:59SPEAKER_01: Today we have Colleen Falto on the show.
- 10:03SPEAKER_01: And she has been a client of mine for over a year now, and I'm just so excited to talk about her journey because it's been nothing short of miraculous.
- 10:14SPEAKER_01: Um, and you'll get to know Colleen throughout the conversation, but she is an energetic weight loss coach, which is super amazing, and you'll hear about how powerful her work is.
- 10:24SPEAKER_01: So, welcome to the show, Colleen.
- 10:26SPEAKER_00: Thank you so much, Elise.
- 10:28SPEAKER_00: I'm so excited to be here.
- 10:29SPEAKER_01: So, I'd love to just start with I guess kind of where you were at when we first started working together and what prompted you to start working with me.
- 10:38SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 10:39SPEAKER_00: So when I reached out to you, I was pretty much in like the worst spot of my entire life.
- 10:46SPEAKER_00: I am in recovery and I had relapsed hard.
- 10:51SPEAKER_00: I could not get my drinking under control.
- 10:53SPEAKER_00: I was in an insanely toxic relationship, and my life was just completely out of control.
- 10:59SPEAKER_00: I felt like the biggest like victim of my circumstances.
- 11:02SPEAKER_00: I didn't understand why everything in my life was just spiraling and I knew I needed help.
- 11:08SPEAKER_00: And you had, I forget exactly what I saw.
- 11:12SPEAKER_00: We had a mutual friend, and I played one of your recordings, and I just like knew I had to start working with you.
- 11:19SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and I remember that.
- 11:20SPEAKER_01: I remember you reached out to me, and I actually didn't even know at the time where you were at with like alcohol or anything.
- 11:28SPEAKER_01: I just knew that you wanted to start your online business, which I know is another thing you've been wanting for a really long time.
- 11:35SPEAKER_01: But then obviously, as we started working together, I learned more and more about what was really going on.
- 11:41SPEAKER_01: So, can you talk more about, you know, just kind of what led you to go through all of this stuff and what were some of the biggest things that you feel like you have moved through in our work together?
- 11:53SPEAKER_01: I know that's a really big question and we can go deeper into it, but I mean like we can be here all day.
- 12:00SPEAKER_00: But pretty much, like it's very interesting to reflect back that I didn't even really lead with what was going on in my life because I had so much like shame around it.
- 12:09SPEAKER_00: No one in my life really knew how bad it was.
- 12:11SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 12:12SPEAKER_00: And um, yeah, I had pre-COVID, I owned a gym and I had gone through a divorce, and then COVID hit, right?
- 12:22SPEAKER_00: And so obviously I was dealing with my son, his emotions, my gym got affected, and I was in, I want to say, like one of the most toxic relationships that's ever been in the world.
- 12:34SPEAKER_00: And I was sober for a while, and then I started drinking again, and my life was just like spiraling out of control.
- 12:43SPEAKER_00: I knew that my stress and my anxiety were just insane, and I wanted to really switch my business model.
- 12:52SPEAKER_00: I wanted to go online, I wanted to learn breath work, I wanted to start coaching breath work for weight loss, which is what I do now.
- 13:00SPEAKER_00: You've uh given me that gift.
- 13:02SPEAKER_00: And I knew I needed someone that was gonna coach me through it, and so that's really what drew me to you was the one-on-one sessions.
- 13:10SPEAKER_00: Like the VIP sessions with you are gold.
- 13:13SPEAKER_00: Like I it's worth every penny and 10 times more.
- 13:16SPEAKER_00: I shouldn't say that to you because my pack's almost up.
- 13:20SPEAKER_01: But yeah, yeah, yeah.
- 13:22SPEAKER_01: So I feel like there's so much to dive into.
- 13:26SPEAKER_01: So, knowing what you know now, right, from our work together around understanding like your family trauma and all of that.
- 13:34SPEAKER_01: How do you think that played a part in your drinking and also the relationship that you got into?
- 13:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah, well, honestly, it took me a minute to really wrap my head around what you were saying.
- 13:46SPEAKER_00: And I've joked on our group calls, like, I really thought Elise was gonna kick me out of working with her because like you kept telling me that like it was not about what was going on in the moment.
- 13:57SPEAKER_00: And I was like, yes, it is.
- 13:58SPEAKER_00: Like in this very moment, I'm in so much pain.
- 14:01SPEAKER_00: I can't handle my life, everything's out of control.
- 14:04SPEAKER_00: I'm in so much pain.
- 14:05SPEAKER_00: And you you kept like, you were so patient with me.
- 14:09SPEAKER_00: You were just completely like repeating over and over until I really wrapped my head around like there's underlying trauma, wounds, et cetera, that needed to be taken apart.
- 14:21SPEAKER_00: And I was like, listen, I grew up in a great family.
- 14:24SPEAKER_00: I had a great childhood.
- 14:25SPEAKER_00: I really didn't want for anything.
- 14:27SPEAKER_00: My childhood is not the issue here.
- 14:29SPEAKER_00: And then you got me understanding that it wasn't so much my childhood, but my like how I perceived my childhood.
- 14:36SPEAKER_00: Of course, I had things happen in my childhood, but I'm like, I don't come from a broken home.
- 14:41SPEAKER_00: You know, my parents loved me, all that stuff, right?
- 14:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 14:45SPEAKER_01: And I think this is a really important thing to highlight because I think this is a really common thing, which is why I think a lot of some of the stuff that I talk about with trauma doesn't always land for people.
- 14:57SPEAKER_01: And I feel like the reason why is because not everyone connects the dots around trauma, right?
- 15:02SPEAKER_01: Like we tend to think that trauma is like, you know, you had to have something horrible happen to you, like losing a parent or having a horrible car accident or going through like a natural disaster or something like that.
- 15:16SPEAKER_01: But we don't realize like these subtle underlying traumas that affect us.
- 15:22SPEAKER_01: And I know for you, and I think this happens with so many people, is it really takes some time to land.
- 15:28SPEAKER_01: And I think that we can just make everything about the current situation.
- 15:33SPEAKER_01: Like I remember you kept saying, well, if I didn't get into this toxic relationship, you know, I wouldn't feel this way about myself.
- 15:40SPEAKER_01: And I was like, no, you got into the toxic relationship because you feel this way about yourself, right?
- 15:46SPEAKER_01: And I think that it took a little bit of time for you to fully like understand and embody that.
- 15:52SPEAKER_01: So can you talk a little bit about that process?
- 15:55SPEAKER_01: Because I think this is so important for people to understand.
- 15:57SPEAKER_01: And you're such a great illustration of it.
- 16:00SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 16:01SPEAKER_00: So that was really hard for me to understand.
- 16:05SPEAKER_00: When I pre-COVID, before my life really started to spiral, I was running a successful gym.
- 16:12SPEAKER_00: Um, I had just won an award for best group fitness in Bucks County.
- 16:17SPEAKER_00: The gym was going great.
- 16:18SPEAKER_00: My members loved me.
- 16:19SPEAKER_00: Everything was like going really, really, really well.
- 16:22SPEAKER_00: On the outside, my life looked amazing, right?
- 16:26SPEAKER_00: And then I got into this horrible relationship that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy, just the psychological manipulation and everything.
- 16:37SPEAKER_00: And I kept blaming my lot in life and how my life was going on that.
- 16:42SPEAKER_00: And you kept explaining to me, like Colleen, I was like, I loved myself before this.
- 16:47SPEAKER_00: I thought so highly of myself, but it was really all external validation, right?
- 16:53SPEAKER_00: People around me were telling me how great I was and how great my gym was and awards and you know, money was coming in, et cetera, et cetera.
- 17:01SPEAKER_00: But I didn't truly see my worth or feel my worth.
- 17:04SPEAKER_00: It was all externally met.
- 17:08SPEAKER_00: I thought that I loved myself so much and this person had taken me to such a pit.
- 17:13SPEAKER_00: And you were like, no, Colleen, if you really love yourself, you don't allow people in your life that treat you like that.
- 17:20SPEAKER_01: Yeah, absolutely.
- 17:21SPEAKER_01: And I think that as much as it's painful, we create these situations in our lives, you know, not saying we intentionally create them, but they show up in our lives as opportunities for us to heal on a deeper level.
- 17:35SPEAKER_01: So I mean, I would love to dive into that a little bit because I think that even though this relationship, getting out of this relationship was one of the hardest things you ever had to do, it now gave you the opportunity to heal and go to depths within yourself that you never would have otherwise gone to.
- 17:55SPEAKER_00: Oh, absolutely.
- 17:57SPEAKER_00: Someone asked me to give like my past couple of years and like a brief synopsis.
- 18:03SPEAKER_00: And I actually said that me starting to drink again was the best thing that ever happened to me.
- 18:08SPEAKER_00: And I paused and I was like, wow, but it really was.
- 18:10SPEAKER_00: Like I was like, I felt like the victim for so long.
- 18:14SPEAKER_00: But in reality, even before the pandemic, when my life was going really well and I like had succeeded in all the ways that I thought I wanted to succeed, like all the goals that I had set in my life, I had met them.
- 18:28SPEAKER_00: Yeah, it wasn't enough.
- 18:29SPEAKER_00: I wasn't happy, you know, I was always looking for something else.
- 18:33SPEAKER_00: And I was, I like lived my entire life looking to fill this void I had internally from feeling like I wasn't enough, my abandonment wounds, you know, my core trauma of feeling like I'm not enough.
- 18:45SPEAKER_00: And I kept looking for like clothes to fill it, relationships, alcohol, you know, working out.
- 18:51SPEAKER_00: I would like track my calories and work out twice a day.
- 18:55SPEAKER_00: And I lived my entire life.
- 18:56SPEAKER_00: And if I hadn't met you, I probably would have continued living my entire life, just like going through life, a really good life, right?
- 19:03SPEAKER_00: Like going through a really beautiful life that I have, hitting my head on the pillow every night, being like, oh, I made it through another day.
- 19:10SPEAKER_00: Now I hit my pillow and I'm just like so grateful at the shifts I've made and the grills I've made.
- 19:16SPEAKER_00: It's insane.
- 19:17SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's really insane.
- 19:19SPEAKER_01: This is something I really like to talk about too, is the piece around addiction, because this is the other thing that we talk about a lot, you know, not only with alcohol, but with your relationship.
- 19:30SPEAKER_01: And if you don't mind sharing, just like, you know, my view on addiction, obviously, you know, is that it's a symptom of a deeper wound or a deeper trauma, right?
- 19:40SPEAKER_01: I don't think that it's just like a disease and that's it.
- 19:43SPEAKER_01: I think there's always something underneath of it.
- 19:45SPEAKER_01: So, what is kind of your take on that or your experience with that and your experience with healing that?
- 19:51SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 19:52SPEAKER_00: You worked with me a lot on that.
- 19:53SPEAKER_00: Like, Helene, like it's not about the alcohol.
- 19:56SPEAKER_00: And like me personally, I'm in AA, I have a sponsor, I go to meetings, like I practice a very strong program.
- 20:03SPEAKER_00: God willing, one day at a time for the rest of my life, I will never pick up again because I never like going back to where I wasn't is just something that I have to protect over everything else in my life.
- 20:15SPEAKER_00: But it truly wasn't about the alcoholic, right?
- 20:18SPEAKER_00: The alcohol was a symptom to numb the pain that I was in.
- 20:21SPEAKER_00: I wasn't drinking and I wasn't in this relationship.
- 20:25SPEAKER_00: Like I wasn't constantly looking for things to fill my void because I felt good.
- 20:29SPEAKER_00: I was looking for things to fill my void because, like, at a core, I wasn't happy.
- 20:33SPEAKER_00: I had this like pain from my childhood core traumas of feeling like I wasn't enough, feeling like there was something wrong with me based on, you know, a couple very big things that happened.
- 20:45SPEAKER_00: Obviously, you Elise talk about trauma with a capital T and a lowercase T.
- 20:50SPEAKER_00: What happened to me was a lowercase T, but as a child, my perception of it was that it was a capital T, right?
- 20:56SPEAKER_00: Yeah, I think that's really important.
- 20:58SPEAKER_01: Let's go into that for a little bit because I think this is another thing that we can tend to brush off.
- 21:04SPEAKER_01: And I think that you probably have this experience too, where even when I told you, like I remember, I think I told you in like our very first session, or even it might have been our second session, but I remember when you told me, and if you don't mind sharing about like what the trauma was for you, because I think this is gonna be really helpful for people.
- 21:22SPEAKER_01: I remember I told you on like the first or second time, I was like, that's the thing.
- 21:27SPEAKER_01: That's the thing that made you feel like you weren't enough and there was something wrong with you.
- 21:32SPEAKER_01: But if you talk about it now, you can think like, oh, well, I get it, it makes sense, blah, blah, blah, blah, to an adult, but to a child, it's like life ending.
- 21:43SPEAKER_01: So can you talk about that a little bit?
- 21:45SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 21:46SPEAKER_00: So in first grade, I could not read.
- 21:49SPEAKER_00: And I have an older sister and a twin sister.
- 21:53SPEAKER_00: And my twin sister could read everything.
- 21:56SPEAKER_00: And so halfway through first grade, the teacher.
- 22:00SPEAKER_00: Suggested that I get pulled out of first grade, put in a transitional first grade at a different school.
- 22:06SPEAKER_00: And I actually went through emotional anesthesia, which is something that I learned from you, Elise.
- 22:11SPEAKER_00: I've I've never heard that from anyone else, right?
- 22:13SPEAKER_00: Where like you just like the emotions are too high risk and you don't remember any of it.
- 22:17SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 22:18SPEAKER_00: And so I went through emotional anesthesia and then I went back to the school that I was like in my school district or whatever.
- 22:26SPEAKER_00: And I repeated first grade.
- 22:28SPEAKER_00: And so I had gone through literally first grade through up until college when I went to a different school explaining to everyone on a regular basis why my twin sister was in a grade above me.
- 22:40SPEAKER_00: And it took like every time it was just like my self-worth.
- 22:43SPEAKER_00: And I felt like I wasn't enough.
- 22:45SPEAKER_00: And I had this really, really, really core belief that was so suppressed that I wasn't enough.
- 22:51SPEAKER_01: And I know also your sisters ended up going to different schools than you, and you just always felt like compared to them, that there was something wrong with you.
- 23:00SPEAKER_00: Yeah, we all we all went to private school and they went to a much more prestigious one than I did.
- 23:05SPEAKER_00: I was into art, I was in like the special department for extra tutoring.
- 23:10SPEAKER_00: Like school wasn't my thing.
- 23:11SPEAKER_00: Like school just was not my thing.
- 23:14SPEAKER_00: And like if I knew what I knew now, it would have been a much different experience, but I didn't have that knowledge then.
- 23:22SPEAKER_00: And I really just felt like, why is everyone in my family so much smarter than me?
- 23:28SPEAKER_00: Like, you know, I just felt like there was just something wrong with me and I didn't fit in and I was mad about it.
- 23:34SPEAKER_00: Like I was really upset about it, you know?
- 23:36SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 23:36SPEAKER_00: And then how do you feel like that continued to show up in your life?
- 23:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah, well, I just continued to look for things to make that the truth, right?
- 23:46SPEAKER_00: Like I just looking for situations to be like, yep, you're not enough, you're not enough.
- 23:51SPEAKER_00: And obviously, like how I felt about myself just came through.
- 23:55SPEAKER_00: And so I would try and like go shopping and like dress in like these clothes that would make me feel like I'm enough.
- 24:00SPEAKER_00: But like, if you don't feel like you're enough, there's nothing that's gonna make you feel like you're enough until you heal it, right?
- 24:05SPEAKER_00: Like, yeah, and so I was very codependent in my relationships.
- 24:09SPEAKER_00: I had issues with eating, I had an eating disorder for years.
- 24:13SPEAKER_00: I was bulimic.
- 24:14SPEAKER_00: As soon as I drank, I was an alcoholic.
- 24:18SPEAKER_00: Like the first time I drank, I smoked weed all the time.
- 24:22SPEAKER_00: And I was just constantly looking for external things to make myself feel like enough.
- 24:28SPEAKER_00: When in reality, my like if I knew you when I was at that age, I don't even know what my life would look like an album because I have lived a beautiful life the entire time.
- 24:37SPEAKER_00: I just didn't have appreciation for it because I was so wrapped up in like this core belief of myself that there's something wrong with me.
- 24:44SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 24:44SPEAKER_01: And I think this is a lot something that a lot of people go through without even really realizing it.
- 24:49SPEAKER_01: Cause obviously you had no context for this, right?
- 24:52SPEAKER_01: Until we started working together.
- 24:54SPEAKER_01: You didn't like realize what was happening.
- 24:56SPEAKER_01: And I know that you even said in your, you know, relationship that you finally ended that you spent basically the whole time like trying to prove that you were good enough for this person.
- 25:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 25:08SPEAKER_00: I mean, I went through encouraged me to get a boob job.
- 25:12SPEAKER_00: Like, sure.
- 25:13SPEAKER_00: Like, who does that?
- 25:14SPEAKER_00: You know what I mean?
- 25:15SPEAKER_00: And I kept thinking, like, if I do this, I'll be enough.
- 25:17SPEAKER_00: If I do this, I'll I'll be enough.
- 25:18SPEAKER_00: And I literally have I am enough as a tattoo now because I am so enough.
- 25:23SPEAKER_00: I have always been enough and I will always be enough, right?
- 25:27SPEAKER_00: And if people don't vibe that, they're not my my people.
- 25:31SPEAKER_00: But like, no matter what anyone else says, I know that to be true in my core.
- 25:35SPEAKER_00: And so I will surround myself by people that see that, or you know what I mean.
- 25:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah, totally.
- 25:42SPEAKER_01: I guess I want to go more into too, like as far as stopping, because I know a lot of our work together, too, was like a combination of helping you transition from your gym to an online business and just transition from engaging in toxic behaviors that were not in alignment with, you know, who you truly are.
- 26:04SPEAKER_01: So, what do you feel like was the biggest challenge for you when it came to not drinking anymore and getting out of this relationship?
- 26:11SPEAKER_01: Like, what do you feel like was the hardest challenge that you overcame?
- 26:15SPEAKER_00: I think the relationship was such a manipulative relationship.
- 26:20SPEAKER_00: It was such like a, see, I always had like a control issue.
- 26:24SPEAKER_00: Like my disordered eating came from a control issue, right?
- 26:27SPEAKER_00: Like eating disorders are control issues.
- 26:29SPEAKER_00: And I always felt so out of control.
- 26:31SPEAKER_00: And then I found this person that wanted to control everything I did to like an insanely emotionally toxic way.
- 26:40SPEAKER_00: And part of me enjoyed that on some level because I was so unhealed and I was like, all right, cool.
- 26:45SPEAKER_00: Like now I don't have to control things.
- 26:48SPEAKER_00: This person will literally tell me who I can talk to, what I can do, what I can wear, everything, right?
- 26:54SPEAKER_00: And then I felt so out of control with that.
- 26:57SPEAKER_00: Then I started drinking again.
- 26:59SPEAKER_00: I was sober for about a year and a half.
- 27:01SPEAKER_00: And then I started drinking and I was hiding it from everyone.
- 27:04SPEAKER_00: I had so much shame.
- 27:05SPEAKER_00: I had like people in my life were trying to help me.
- 27:08SPEAKER_00: They were like, Colleen, like, this is not a healthy situation.
- 27:12SPEAKER_00: And I was in such denial about it, et cetera, et cetera.
- 27:15SPEAKER_00: And I was just feeling like it was like my dark night moment.
- 27:20SPEAKER_00: And I actually had to go to get help.
- 27:22SPEAKER_00: I went to treatment for a couple months actually.
- 27:25SPEAKER_00: And it was the hardest, but the best thing I've ever done in my entire life.
- 27:32SPEAKER_00: And that was something I did with your support.
- 27:34SPEAKER_00: You were the first person that I reached out to when I was like, you know what?
- 27:38SPEAKER_00: I'm drinking to numb my pain.
- 27:41SPEAKER_00: I can't get it under control.
- 27:42SPEAKER_00: I need to get some help.
- 27:43SPEAKER_00: And so I needed to go away and get help.
- 27:46SPEAKER_00: But literally, I went with like 20 people and I hope everyone's doing well.
- 27:52SPEAKER_00: But from what I've heard, most of them aren't still practicing sobriety.
- 27:57SPEAKER_00: And I 100,000 percent attribute my success in sobriety.
- 28:01SPEAKER_00: I've I'm a different person now.
- 28:03SPEAKER_00: I have changed everything in my life because of the work that you and I were doing, about like getting to like, it's not about the alcohol, it's not about the toxic things, it's about the underlying core wound.
- 28:15SPEAKER_01: Yeah, absolutely.
- 28:16SPEAKER_01: And you know the things that I agree with and don't agree with about recovery, but because obviously I have my own way of looking at things, but it is incredibly helpful and especially to help you really stop.
- 28:29SPEAKER_01: And I think it was amazing for that.
- 28:31SPEAKER_01: And I think that it was such a brave decision for you to go.
- 28:35SPEAKER_01: And, you know, obviously, I we did our calls and everything while you were there, and I was able to really support you through that process because it does take a multidimensional approach, right?
- 28:46SPEAKER_01: Like I wouldn't tell people, like, okay, well, now just go to recovery or just even just working with me.
- 28:53SPEAKER_01: Like, I think that the more support you can get, the better.
- 28:57SPEAKER_01: And I'm so glad you were able to do that.
- 28:59SPEAKER_01: Cause then I think once once you came back, then it was like, okay, now that's out of the way.
- 29:05SPEAKER_01: Now I'm just gonna support you in ending this relationship and starting your business.
- 29:10SPEAKER_01: So can you talk too just a little bit about because I know the work that you do has been so incredibly impacted by just everything you went through.
- 29:21SPEAKER_01: Um, so can you just talk about your work and then like the story of why you actually do this work based on everything that you've been through?
- 29:29SPEAKER_00: Sure.
- 29:30SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 29:30SPEAKER_00: Um, when I met you, like I said, I owned a gym and we would uh it was more of like a strength training, small group, personal training facility.
- 29:40SPEAKER_00: And I did nutrition coaching too.
- 29:42SPEAKER_00: I, like I mentioned earlier, had an issue with food for years.
- 29:46SPEAKER_00: I was like from 13, I started being molemic.
- 29:49SPEAKER_00: And I always, again, that control issue, like trying to fill the void with food.
- 29:54SPEAKER_00: I didn't feel like enough, and so I would try and eat food to feel like I was enough.
- 29:58SPEAKER_00: And then I, you know, had a very troubled relationship there.
- 30:01SPEAKER_00: And so before COVID, I would tell clients like to track their macros, hit their protein, this, that, the other.
- 30:07SPEAKER_00: And then through COVID, I got into breath work a little bit.
- 30:12SPEAKER_00: And so I reached out to you, and I didn't even really like I wanted to have an online business, but I didn't even really have it grow to what you really helped me cultivate what I have now of like using breath work to heal the emotional feelings that you're reaching for food for, right?
- 30:30SPEAKER_00: And so that's now I help clients, my program's physically fit and spiritually fed.
- 30:36SPEAKER_00: And we kind of deal, we don't kind of we deal with it just like we deal with alcohol.
- 30:41SPEAKER_00: Like alcohol is not the problem, it's the feelings around it.
- 30:45SPEAKER_00: Of course, alcohol is a big problem, but like alcohol isn't the core problem, it's a symptom.
- 30:51SPEAKER_00: Same thing with food, like food's a symptom of something underneath it.
- 30:54SPEAKER_00: If you have a relationship with food where you're emotionally eating and you're not able to just eat on an intuitive level, that's like a healthy relationship, then there's emotions underneath it that have been suppressed that need to be felt and released.
- 31:10SPEAKER_00: And your breath work is a insanely, I don't know anything else that could do that.
- 31:14SPEAKER_00: Like you using your breath to ride out that wave, like that like 15 minutes or so that your feelings are just so high risk.
- 31:22SPEAKER_00: And if you've had years, right, decades even reaching for something externally to numb your feelings.
- 31:28SPEAKER_00: That was me.
- 31:29SPEAKER_00: And a lot of my clients do it with food.
- 31:31SPEAKER_00: A lot of my clients for like a decade or if not more, they've felt a little emotional and they reach for food to numb and to cope.
- 31:39SPEAKER_00: And so develop with coping mechanisms.
- 31:42SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 31:42SPEAKER_01: I mean, I think we all develop coping mechanisms, right?
- 31:46SPEAKER_01: There's so many different ones, you know, and there's so many different things that I think certain people use as coping mechanisms that aren't, you know, on their own terrible.
- 31:56SPEAKER_01: But when you start to use it in an unhealthy way because you're trying to cope with not feeling your emotions or you're trying to cope with, you know, some of these deeper wounds or trauma that you feel, that's when it becomes an issue.
- 32:10SPEAKER_01: So, how do you feel like your work has evolved?
- 32:14SPEAKER_01: Like, can you talk more about what you do now?
- 32:16SPEAKER_01: Like, I know it's it's still working out, but it's also much more like mindfulness and breath work, which is amazing.
- 32:23SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 32:24SPEAKER_00: So during the pandemic, I had a lot of clients at my studio that lost a lot of weight when they were like at home, right?
- 32:33SPEAKER_00: Like they're at home doing the Zoom calls, they weren't going to work and stuff, and they lost weight.
- 32:38SPEAKER_00: And then when everything started reopening and they went back to work, they were gaining weight, eating and working out the same because it was purely stress.
- 32:47SPEAKER_00: It was like cortisol, adrenals, like their hormones were getting jacked up from their lack of emotional regulation.
- 32:53SPEAKER_00: And so it was so evident to me, like obviously it's your stress.
- 32:58SPEAKER_00: Your stress is making you gain weight.
- 33:00SPEAKER_00: And so my program is all about a lot of it, a lot of my clients that come to me don't even eat that much.
- 33:08SPEAKER_00: They really eat in check, they work out in check, but they're they're so numb to the stress that they have.
- 33:14SPEAKER_00: They've been in such a high stress environment through work, family, et cetera, for so long that they don't even realize how stressed out they truly are.
- 33:23SPEAKER_00: And so I help them use breath work and different like affirmations around losing weight, around like just calming down.
- 33:32SPEAKER_00: And I help them, I either have a one-month program and or a four-month program and in that time completely change their perception of their stress, the perception of their life.
- 33:42SPEAKER_00: Like a lot of my clients have very high stress jobs, and so of course they can't like quit their jobs, but they can literally work on their perception of the stress around them.
- 33:52SPEAKER_00: If it's not gonna matter in five years, don't spend more than five minutes worrying about it, right?
- 33:56SPEAKER_01: Yeah, and I think I I love the idea of like the perception of your stress because I think that we don't even realize the degree that we're operating from like a fear state or a fight or flight.
- 34:10SPEAKER_01: Like, even with myself, like I just had a realization this weekend because I was moving through a lot of stuff that like in a lot of ways, even though I've done so much work, like there's certain ways where I'm still operating from fear, you know?
- 34:22SPEAKER_01: And I think that so many of us don't even realize the degree to which we are operating from these old programs, like this old paradigm of fear or of wanting someone else's approval or of trying to overcompensate for being not good enough or whatever it is.
- 34:42SPEAKER_01: And all of those things contribute to the weight that we hold, especially like our emotions.
- 34:48SPEAKER_01: And I know you talk a lot about using your like emotional weight loss, right?
- 34:53SPEAKER_01: Like being an energetic weight loss coach.
- 34:55SPEAKER_01: Like, how do you think emotions contribute to gaining weight or losing weight?
- 35:01SPEAKER_00: It's crazy.
- 35:01SPEAKER_00: It is literally all about how you can perceive things.
- 35:05SPEAKER_00: One of the first things you really want to do is you want to get to like the core and the root of why you're perceiving the world around you the way you are, right?
- 35:13SPEAKER_00: And then it allows you to see, like, wow, like I'm perceiving my life as a victim, this, that, the other, because of my core wound, not because of reality.
- 35:22SPEAKER_00: And then, like I said, either you're energetically holding on to weight, and so it has you hold on to physical weight so that subconsciously you can feel safe.
- 35:31SPEAKER_00: You can like hide in your body, right?
- 35:34SPEAKER_00: And so a lot of it is like losing.
- 35:36SPEAKER_00: I talked to my clients, like, we're gonna lose the emotional, the mental weight, and then the physical weight will fall off.
- 35:42SPEAKER_00: And that's truly what happens when you learn how to, you know, implement coping mechanisms and literally change how you perceive life around you and like release things and get that self-awareness, the physical weight falls off.
- 35:57SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it's crazy.
- 35:58SPEAKER_01: It's funny because like when you think about it too, like I know for me, there's been certain times in my life where you know, I've just like not even really tried, but just like lost a few pounds.
- 36:08SPEAKER_01: And, you know, you don't even really realize, but I do think when we go through like these transitional times or times where we just kind of like change into a different version of yourself, you just kind of let go of the weight or you let go of stress.
- 36:22SPEAKER_01: Like I know for me, when I let go of having to go to work every day, I just naturally lost some weight because it was just like I didn't have that stress.
- 36:32SPEAKER_01: I wasn't putting that stress on my body every day.
- 36:35SPEAKER_01: Um, so something just opened up and it just felt different.
- 36:39SPEAKER_01: And I think that I love that you're bringing like this energetic component to it because I think the old paradigm is kind of this, okay, well, like eat less and exercise more or whatever.
- 36:51SPEAKER_01: And it's not always that simple.
- 36:53SPEAKER_01: And I think that that's kind of, you know, we've been talking about this for you, that you provide this missing piece for people.
- 36:59SPEAKER_01: And I'd love for you to talk about too, like how our work, because I know you're in the metamorphosis method, the certification program, and how do you feel like the work we've done there has applied to how you're helping women lose weight?
- 37:12SPEAKER_00: Oh, absolutely.
- 37:13SPEAKER_00: We change a relationship with food by really not even talking about food.
- 37:17SPEAKER_00: Because it's all about through your program, which is if you have the chance to do it when Elise runs it again, like sign up, like first spot.
- 37:26SPEAKER_00: It's the most transformative thing you'll ever do.
- 37:29SPEAKER_00: Learning the underlying emotions, the underlying issues.
- 37:33SPEAKER_00: Like you said, when you stopped working, you lost the weight.
- 37:37SPEAKER_00: Had you gone back to work, you probably would have gained it back.
- 37:39SPEAKER_00: Like I was saying earlier with my clients.
- 37:41SPEAKER_00: And so just getting to what you're really upset about, something that you've really helped me understand and what's a big part of my coaching is we're never really upset about what we think we're upset about.
- 37:51SPEAKER_00: It's always something underneath it, something deeper that's been suppressed that needs to be integrated and released through your breath, like through the coping mechanisms.
- 38:01SPEAKER_00: And when you're able to really release your suppression and just go through life, perceiving things differently, also releasing the suppression.
- 38:10SPEAKER_00: You don't reach for food.
- 38:12SPEAKER_00: I like I have two clients normally.
- 38:14SPEAKER_00: One, the client that's really doing everything right, air quote right, like you're eating within check, you're working out, maybe you're having a couple handfuls of chips, a couple glasses of wine a week, but that isn't making you gain like five to ten pounds, right?
- 38:29SPEAKER_00: It's your stress levels and your stress is too high risk.
- 38:32SPEAKER_00: And so your body, your hormones are being affected by it, and you're holding on to physical 3D weight.
- 38:38SPEAKER_00: Or the client that generally knows exactly what to do goes through the day eating really good.
- 38:45SPEAKER_00: Then at night, you know, when the kids go to bed, when home from work, whatever the case is, just eats without even realizing they're eating, like just ate a bag of chips, not even thinking about it because their needs, like the emotions are just so high risk.
- 39:00SPEAKER_00: And so that's something that's a big part of it.
- 39:02SPEAKER_00: Of course, um, learning how to do what works for you in regards to diet and nutrition and exercise.
- 39:09SPEAKER_00: But 95% of diets do not work.
- 39:11SPEAKER_00: It isn't you, it's not me.
- 39:13SPEAKER_00: It's the fact that diets are restricting and they have you running after not eating carbs and it's exciting, and you're running off adrenaline for the first two or three weeks, but you're really running from the unhealed core trauma that is giving you the issue with food in the first place.
- 39:28SPEAKER_01: Wow.
- 39:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's so true.
- 39:31SPEAKER_01: I love that.
- 39:32SPEAKER_01: And I also think, too, like the thing that I never liked about diets too is it's like, okay, well, how long are you gonna do that for?
- 39:39SPEAKER_00: Yep.
- 39:40SPEAKER_01: You know what I mean?
- 39:41SPEAKER_01: Like, because eventually you have to not follow that diet anymore because there's always a reason not to, right?
- 39:47SPEAKER_01: You're going out to dinner, you're going here, you're going there, you want to enjoy ice cream with your kid or whatever.
- 39:53SPEAKER_01: You know, there's always a reason not to do it.
- 39:56SPEAKER_01: So there has to be some kind of way for people to find what's right for them outside of someone else giving you like the prescription of like, okay, well, if you just do this, then you'll lose weight.
- 40:09SPEAKER_01: But it's like, okay, well, how sustainable is that?
- 40:12SPEAKER_01: And I think that a lot of what you do too is helping people with that sustainability piece.
- 40:18SPEAKER_01: And then I also, for you, what do you think was the key in really healing your relationship with food?
- 40:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah, so what I talk to my clients about all the time is like realigning the mind-body connection that you had from like birth to like around four or five, maybe.
- 40:33SPEAKER_00: And then like your perception of your life around you got too stressful and walls went up.
- 40:39SPEAKER_00: And through that, either we started eating more or our bodies were just holding on to extra fat.
- 40:44SPEAKER_00: If you look at kids, you really don't see kids that are overweight before like five or six, six, right?
- 40:51SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 40:51SPEAKER_00: Yeah, that's true.
- 40:52SPEAKER_00: I mean, there's occasionally, but not really.
- 40:55SPEAKER_00: Exactly, exactly.
- 40:56SPEAKER_00: There's an occasion, but it like it's not a normal thing.
- 41:00SPEAKER_00: And so for me, um, I had a very controlling relationship with food and I used it to numb.
- 41:05SPEAKER_00: I used it to cope.
- 41:07SPEAKER_00: And then now I have the the coping mechanisms for the emotional regulation to journal.
- 41:13SPEAKER_00: I do my gratitude daily.
- 41:15SPEAKER_00: I journal daily my feelings of today, but then also where I want to be at in a year, right?
- 41:21SPEAKER_00: Like I set goals for myself, I empower myself, I don't shame myself.
- 41:25SPEAKER_00: I look at what I can do in the situation, what I can control, not the abundance of things I can't control, because that's just a waste of my energy.
- 41:32SPEAKER_00: And so now I honestly am 38 years old.
- 41:36SPEAKER_00: And up until our work, I had a relationship with food that was very controlling, right?
- 41:41SPEAKER_00: I would like to plan it out.
- 41:42SPEAKER_00: It just took way too much thoughts in my head of like going out to dinner, when I wanted to eat, I'd be eating one meal.
- 41:48SPEAKER_00: What's next?
- 41:49SPEAKER_00: Because I use food as a tool to numb.
- 41:53SPEAKER_00: And so now that I do my breath work daily, I do my affirmations, at least and at least as I work with us in the higher level program on affirmations, and that has been a game changer for me personally, right?
- 42:05SPEAKER_00: And just shifting what I believe to be possible for myself.
- 42:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 42:09SPEAKER_00: I tune into what I really want and I give myself that.
- 42:13SPEAKER_00: So like I'm really against like a meal plan or like planning out your food because you have to take it day by day.
- 42:18SPEAKER_00: Like, if I have like a quinoa bowl prepared and I really don't want that quinoa bowl, I'm generally gonna eat more of it than I really need to be full because I really want something else.
- 42:30SPEAKER_00: And I'm trying to fill a craving with this quinoa bowl that's just not gonna fill my craving, right?
- 42:35SPEAKER_00: As opposed to having what I really want, eating till I'm, you know, feeling good and stopping.
- 42:40SPEAKER_01: Yeah, that's so true.
- 42:41SPEAKER_01: I feel like that's one of the things that like always made me never be interested in like any kind of diets like that, because I don't like having everything planned out where it's like, okay, what do I feel like eating now and like allowing yourself to do that because it does kind of take it's just not sustainable again.
- 42:59SPEAKER_01: And I totally agree with that.
- 43:01SPEAKER_01: And I love that you don't use meal plans with people, but I'm curious.
- 43:04SPEAKER_01: One of the things that's occurring to me that I think it it's important to talk about too is just the piece around how this kind of relates to ancestral trauma too.
- 43:14SPEAKER_01: Because I know that this is something that not only you struggled with, but you mentioned like other people in your family struggled with.
- 43:20SPEAKER_01: So do you feel like this is kind of something that was like passed down to you in a sense?
- 43:26SPEAKER_00: Absolutely, a hundred percent.
- 43:28SPEAKER_00: And it really comes from the whole core wound of the worthiness wound, not feeling like you're enough and looking for food to feel like you're enough.
- 43:38SPEAKER_00: The other women in my family have all dealt with issues around food.
- 43:43SPEAKER_00: And there's just like so much, so much healing that's available to all of us.
- 43:48SPEAKER_00: And that's one of the biggest things that I talk to clients about a lot too.
- 43:52SPEAKER_00: When you come from a family, even the press family, the most like loving, supportive family that all has their own issues to work through.
- 44:00SPEAKER_00: And it's almost like, well, my brother, my sister, my kid, my mom, whatever the case is, is is like really struggling here.
- 44:06SPEAKER_00: It's like, well, the more that you change and the more that you show up to your family's life in a healed way, the more that they're gonna see opportunities and pathways to heal too.
- 44:18SPEAKER_00: And they're gonna start looking at what you're doing to cope, to grow, to heal, and they're gonna start implementing it too.
- 44:26SPEAKER_01: I a hundred percent agree.
- 44:27SPEAKER_01: And I always say to people that you can change your relationships with everybody in your life without ever having to talk to them about it.
- 44:35SPEAKER_01: And that's another thing I'd love for you to talk about too, throughout the time that we've worked together.
- 44:40SPEAKER_01: How do you feel like your relationships have changed with like your son and your family?
- 44:44SPEAKER_01: Because I know they've gotten so much better.
- 44:47SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 44:48SPEAKER_00: So for my son, it was very interesting.
- 44:50SPEAKER_00: I was constantly trying to like do for him and do for him and take him to play date, take him here, take him there because I felt so anxious all the time.
- 45:01SPEAKER_00: Now we like sit down, we cuddle, we'll do art together because I'm coming from it from a peaceful way and I'm not like feeling so insecure about everything.
- 45:11SPEAKER_00: I've learned how to support my son.
- 45:13SPEAKER_00: If he's upset about something before our work together, I would like timeout, this, that, the other.
- 45:21SPEAKER_00: Now I pause and I put myself in timeout.
- 45:24SPEAKER_00: Like, all right, right?
- 45:27SPEAKER_00: Like I love that.
- 45:28SPEAKER_00: I actually need to do that.
- 45:31SPEAKER_00: It's powerful because like I don't want to overreact.
- 45:34SPEAKER_00: I don't want to say something I regret.
- 45:35SPEAKER_00: And so I'm like, you know what?
- 45:37SPEAKER_00: I need to take a couple minutes.
- 45:38SPEAKER_00: And he's like, no, no, say something.
- 45:41SPEAKER_00: Right.
- 45:41SPEAKER_00: Because he's so used to me being like, like, like, for instance, like the dog, he'll like go and hit the dog or something, like nothing crazy.
- 45:48SPEAKER_00: And before I'd be like, you can't do that.
- 45:50SPEAKER_00: And now I just hit pause.
- 45:52SPEAKER_00: I'm like, wow, I need a minute.
- 45:54SPEAKER_00: And he's like, no, say something, say something, you know, as opposed to um, you know, just lashing out.
- 45:59SPEAKER_00: Because in reality, I don't know about you and other women, I can only speak for myself.
- 46:03SPEAKER_00: When I would get upset at like him or anyone else in my family, the suppression, like like you say, we're never upset about what we think we're upset about, right?
- 46:12SPEAKER_00: And so, like something would come up with my family, my mom, my dad, and I would overreact to it because I was really upset about something else.
- 46:20SPEAKER_00: And I would take that energy and put it onto that situation.
- 46:24SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 46:25SPEAKER_01: I know exactly what you're talking about.
- 46:27SPEAKER_01: And I feel like this is something that I hear so many women sharing about is like, okay, well, when it comes to a certain person in your life, whether it's your mom or your partner, it's like there's certain things that they do or say that just like irk the shit out of you and you don't know why.
- 46:44SPEAKER_01: And this would happen to me too, where I would be like, okay, I really just want to have like a nice visit with my mom.
- 46:50SPEAKER_01: Like, I don't want to get annoyed at her.
- 46:52SPEAKER_01: Like, I really just want to have a nice time with her.
- 46:55SPEAKER_01: And then sure enough, she comes over and just annoys the shit out of me.
- 46:59SPEAKER_01: And I'm just like, why can't I have like a normal relationship with my mom?
- 47:03SPEAKER_01: You know, because you just get so triggered about these things that happened in the past with them, you know, that you're kind of holding on to and kind of like underlyingly expecting them to fix in some way.
- 47:18SPEAKER_01: And then when you can let go of that, everything changes.
- 47:21SPEAKER_00: And I know you've had that experience with your parents too.
- 47:25SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 47:26SPEAKER_00: And it's like what you and I have really been focusing our work in the last month or two on is me just coming to you, being like, all right, Elise, I got really triggered by this situation.
- 47:38SPEAKER_00: I've done the deeper dive, I've done the work.
- 47:40SPEAKER_00: I can see that like my emotions here aren't really valid.
- 47:44SPEAKER_00: Like it's something else.
- 47:45SPEAKER_00: Like, I'm not really upset about this conversation I had with a family member.
- 47:50SPEAKER_00: And so, like looking, like hitting the pause button.
- 47:53SPEAKER_00: That's actually, I just started a podcast.
- 47:54SPEAKER_00: The power of the pause is the title of it.
- 47:57SPEAKER_00: Hitting the pause button.
- 47:58SPEAKER_00: I love that.
- 47:59SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 48:00SPEAKER_01: That's so good for you.
- 48:01SPEAKER_01: And this is something I I want to make sure we talk about too is like your struggles with impulsivity, which I know a lot of people can relate to.
- 48:08SPEAKER_00: Yes, yes, so impulsive.
- 48:10SPEAKER_00: And just like not really, again, that goes to like not feeling head of void.
- 48:15SPEAKER_00: I'm trying to fill it.
- 48:16SPEAKER_00: So I would just constantly anything impulsive, impulsive.
- 48:19SPEAKER_00: And through the practices you've given me, it literally allows me to hit pause, go from working from that middle impulsive part of my brain to the frontal lobe where I'm like able to stop and ask myself what's gonna happen in the end.
- 48:34SPEAKER_00: Because a lot of us, when we're like self-sabotaging, being self-destructive with food, relationships, alcohol, whatever the case is, we're able to hit pause and play it through.
- 48:43SPEAKER_00: But we're so wrapped up in the moment because we're so in the middle part of our brain rather than the frontal lobe.
- 48:49SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 48:49SPEAKER_01: So the middle, because I don't know the brain that well, but the middle part is where you just like you kind of react and you don't think about it.
- 48:56SPEAKER_00: Impulsive, you're just in the moment, you're in fight or flight, like very sympathetic.
- 49:01SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 49:01SPEAKER_00: And then the Paris part, like the frontal lobe, where you're able to feel your emotions, feel your feelings.
- 49:07SPEAKER_00: And that's an art.
- 49:08SPEAKER_00: That's an art that I really have done breath work with other people.
- 49:13SPEAKER_00: I've been in workshops with other people that teach breath work, but no one else does it the way you do it, where you bring this like cultivation of self-awareness.
- 49:23SPEAKER_00: And the way you at least teach people and like get people fully on board with like the fact that you're never really upset about what you think you're upset about.
- 49:33SPEAKER_00: It's always something suppressed that needs to be released, is the biggest gift.
- 49:38SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 49:39SPEAKER_01: Well, yeah.
- 49:39SPEAKER_01: And then this is the other thing that I love to do with people is once we get to, okay, we know what the core wounds are, we know what the issues are.
- 49:49SPEAKER_01: Then it's like when they come up, we can move through it quickly and then move into the space of like, okay, well, all right, now what are we creating?
- 49:56SPEAKER_01: Right.
- 49:57SPEAKER_01: That's where like the affirmations come in.
- 49:59SPEAKER_01: And that's why we're always like, okay, the seven-figure Kahleen, the version of you that you're stepping into, because now we know how to move through the other stuff so quickly.
- 50:09SPEAKER_01: Now it's like we can step into that creation mode, which you know, you were able to do so quickly and transition so easily from, you know, having your gym to starting your business.
- 50:23SPEAKER_01: And I'd love for you to just talk about that a little bit too, because that was something that I feel like as much as you were like afraid of it, it was just so seamless and almost magical.
- 50:35SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 50:35SPEAKER_00: And what you've really helped me realize is why things didn't work out for me in the past is because I was doing it from this like core wound, trying to have that fulfilled, like other people externally validating me, telling me I was worthy.
- 50:51SPEAKER_00: I had this big worthiness wound and I was constantly trying to fill it.
- 50:55SPEAKER_00: And so everything else I had done in the past was done trying to fill the wound.
- 51:00SPEAKER_00: But this business I've created, it's a heart-centered business that I believe in to my core.
- 51:06SPEAKER_00: I truly believe that like my soul's purpose on this planet in this incarnation is to help women on a deeper level not walk around in these bodies we're not comfortable in, not have this relationship with food we feel like we don't have control in, and come back to that alignment that we're born with and release this unhealthy relationship.
- 51:28SPEAKER_00: Because if we're walking around in a body we don't feel good in, it affects everything.
- 51:32SPEAKER_00: Oh my God.
- 51:33SPEAKER_00: Yes, absolutely.
- 51:34SPEAKER_00: How you show up in your job, your relationship with your spouse, how intimate you can be, how you are with your kids.
- 51:42SPEAKER_00: It affects everything.
- 51:43SPEAKER_00: And there's way too many women out there that have just been doing the diet culture, yo-yo dieting, feeling so frustrated, especially since COVID.
- 51:53SPEAKER_00: It just brings me pain when like I see people on Facebook and they're like on vacation with their family in one picture out of like 50 pictures, and they're like only their heads popping up because they're so ashamed of their body, they're like like hiding behind them.
- 52:07SPEAKER_00: That is not the vibe.
- 52:08SPEAKER_00: But it's when you realize it's not about the food, it's not about chasing a diet, it's about getting to the core issue.
- 52:14SPEAKER_00: And a lot of the conversations I have with my clients are around what eating was like as a kid.
- 52:20SPEAKER_00: Like if you came home and your dad had a stressful job and at the dinner table, there was tension, you didn't know like what you were gonna get.
- 52:29SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 52:29SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 52:30SPEAKER_00: Or if like you had to finish your plate, etc.
- 52:32SPEAKER_00: A lot of it boils down to that.
- 52:34SPEAKER_00: And like awareness of it is one thing.
- 52:37SPEAKER_00: And then doing a deeper dive to release the suppression and really heal it is a totally other thing.
- 52:44SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 52:45SPEAKER_00: Something you've really helped me with realizing that when you realize this yourself, that is way more gold than having someone else give you an apology.
- 52:54SPEAKER_00: When you realize, like growing up, this is how I was raised, it made me feel like this, and it's affected me in this other way.
- 53:04SPEAKER_00: And a lot of my clients, when we come to these like realizations as to what the real issue is, it's not food, it's like the underlying trauma.
- 53:12SPEAKER_00: They have this urge to go to their parents and explain it to them and and and just want an apology and stuff.
- 53:18SPEAKER_00: And that takes up a lot of space.
- 53:20SPEAKER_00: And that's one of the things that I really coach with like, what is gonna change when your mom apologizes?
- 53:26SPEAKER_00: Nothing.
- 53:27SPEAKER_00: Like you need to know in your heart that that's how you felt and you didn't deserve it.
- 53:31SPEAKER_00: That means so much more than having someone else tell you that.
- 53:34SPEAKER_01: Yeah, because it's really like, and I say this all the time when it comes to business.
- 53:38SPEAKER_01: It's like we have this underlying need for someone else to acknowledge you, someone else to give you permission, right?
- 53:46SPEAKER_01: So, like I see this with women in business where it's like you don't want to fully step into it because you are subconsciously waiting for someone else to give you permission, someone else to say, you know what, you're good enough, you can do it.
- 53:59SPEAKER_01: And like what that really comes from is an underlying need for your parent to finally say, I get you.
- 54:06SPEAKER_01: I'm sorry I treated you that way.
- 54:08SPEAKER_01: I see how great you are.
- 54:10SPEAKER_01: And I think we're all kind of subconsciously waiting for that reconciliation moment, but really the only person who can reconcile it is you.
- 54:20SPEAKER_01: And I think that's such a huge thing for people to understand.
- 54:24SPEAKER_01: And that's why, like, I think there was a couple of times when we were working through stuff with your dad where you were like, I tried to talk to my dad about this and it didn't go well.
- 54:32SPEAKER_01: And I'm like, Colleen, don't talk to your dad about it.
- 54:35SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 54:36SPEAKER_01: Because it doesn't matter.
- 54:38SPEAKER_00: He doesn't need to understand, it's about you.
- 54:41SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 54:42SPEAKER_00: And it was my perception and my perception and and my parents' perception is very different.
- 54:48SPEAKER_00: Like for me, when I have done the healing around my core wound and being held back and being like below my twin sister, I look at it and I'm like, I would, if I had twins, I would never do that.
- 54:59SPEAKER_00: But they truly felt like at the time they were doing the best they could, right?
- 55:03SPEAKER_00: And so, like, just because it's what I feel doesn't mean that it's right, like, not making things wrong is another thing that you really talk to us about, and I've really implemented with my clients, like, let's not make it wrong.
- 55:15SPEAKER_00: If we have a goal to do this around food and you you took one step back, let's not make it wrong, let's just learn from it and move forward.
- 55:23SPEAKER_00: Powerful.
- 55:24SPEAKER_00: Yeah.
- 55:24SPEAKER_00: So just not make things wrong.
- 55:26SPEAKER_01: Yes, totally.
- 55:26SPEAKER_01: And I think I remember going through that with you around your like helping you dismantle from this relationship, which was really about taking back your self-worth.
- 55:37SPEAKER_01: And I remember just being like, if you were like, uh, I ended up reaching out to him again or we talked again, and I would be like, it's okay, don't make it wrong, moving on.
- 55:46SPEAKER_01: Like, we're just gonna move forward in the direction you want to go, because there's no point in dwelling on what happened.
- 55:52SPEAKER_01: Like, you know what you're creating.
- 55:55SPEAKER_01: You don't need to know exactly how it's gonna get there.
- 55:58SPEAKER_01: It you're gonna get there.
- 55:59SPEAKER_01: It never looks the way you think, anyway.
- 56:01SPEAKER_01: You know, so there's no point in like sitting there and beating yourself up or being at war with yourself over it.
- 56:08SPEAKER_00: Exactly.
- 56:09SPEAKER_00: And I mean, this is a this is an example of perception, right?
- 56:14SPEAKER_00: And that relationship, it had gotten so toxic that I at one point was like, I literally want to die.
- 56:24SPEAKER_00: I said that like in a text, and the response was, you don't have to, I'm gonna kill you.
- 56:29SPEAKER_00: Got a restraining order.
- 56:30SPEAKER_00: And then the perception from him to me was like, you got me arrested.
- 56:34SPEAKER_00: I'm like, you threaten to kill me.
- 56:35SPEAKER_00: And he's like, You got me arrested.
- 56:37SPEAKER_00: And it's like, I can't worry that someone else felt that, right?
- 56:41SPEAKER_00: Like, it's not my okay, like this is my perception, that's your perception, just move on.
- 56:45SPEAKER_00: And really making sure that the people around you bring out the best in you because not everyone brings out the best in you.
- 56:51SPEAKER_00: Some people, it's just like they trigger you and there's something there.
- 56:55SPEAKER_00: And really keeping, like, if you want to be spiritual and healed and just grow on that journey, you have to really protect your energy.
- 57:03SPEAKER_00: Like, your energy is your biggest commodity.
- 57:05SPEAKER_00: Totally.
- 57:06SPEAKER_00: That's just number one.
- 57:08SPEAKER_00: Yeah, totally.
- 57:09SPEAKER_01: So, and I know you're in almost all my programs, not all of them, but almost.
- 57:14SPEAKER_01: So you're in the metamorphosis, the quantum accelerator, and the metamorphosis method, and we do one-on-one work.
- 57:20SPEAKER_01: So I know there's like so many different ways that you're creating transformation.
- 57:25SPEAKER_01: And obviously, we have Voxer together, which I know like I just wanted to touch on that for a little bit too, because I'm getting ready to offer a couple spots for like just Voxer coaching.
- 57:35SPEAKER_01: So, like, what would you say Voxer is like for you?
- 57:38SPEAKER_01: Because I know that's like a place where we really create so much transformation on a daily basis.
- 57:43SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 57:44SPEAKER_00: Voxer has been a game changer, and I use it with my clients as a game changer with them too.
- 57:49SPEAKER_00: So when we first started working together, I would like have this panicked moment and I would reach out to you on Voxer looking for something, and you would advise me, you would tell me, like you get back to me within the day, right?
- 58:02SPEAKER_00: So I don't have to wait until the next group call or our one-on-one call, et cetera.
- 58:07SPEAKER_00: And the difference is that after doing it with you for so long, now I'm able to kind of play out what you would say.
- 58:16SPEAKER_00: I'm able to take some deep breaths, right?
- 58:18SPEAKER_00: Like work from that frontal lobe and be like, okay, like now, like my voxer is to you, or like, I don't really know why this is triggering me.
- 58:26SPEAKER_00: Huh.
- 58:26SPEAKER_00: I know this is not about that, it's about me.
- 58:29SPEAKER_00: But Voxer, um, you support me on an emotional level, a business level, everything.
- 58:35SPEAKER_00: And so I reach out to you.
- 58:37SPEAKER_00: And it's just like, even if it's like a Saturday or Sunday, and you know, you don't get back to me for a couple of days until a Monday, just knowing that I can reach out to you and just like having that person there has been a game changer.
- 58:52SPEAKER_00: It's just the best thing.
- 58:53SPEAKER_01: Yeah, it is.
- 58:54SPEAKER_01: It's it's really just a level of like being held in a space.
- 58:58SPEAKER_01: Cause like you're right, even if it is a Saturday and I'm not going to get back to you until Monday.
- 59:04SPEAKER_01: And I notice this for me too when I use it with people, like with my mentors, like it's just so nice to have a space where you can go and you can voice it.
- 59:13SPEAKER_01: And it doesn't even matter if it takes a little while for the person to get back because just you voicing it, there's something in that that just creates a movement of energy that's so incredibly powerful.
- 59:26SPEAKER_01: So it's such an amazing tool.
- 59:28SPEAKER_01: And I think that coupled with like the one-on-one work in all the groups, has just kind of zoomed you so far in in one year.
- 59:37SPEAKER_01: It's like you are a completely different person.
- 59:41SPEAKER_01: I'm just like, I really could cry right now, but I'm gonna try to stop myself.
- 59:45SPEAKER_01: But I'm so happy for you and so excited for the work that you're doing now.
- 59:50SPEAKER_01: So, can you tell everyone how they can find you and where they can get in touch with you?
- 59:55SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.
- 59:56SPEAKER_00: So, my Instagram is at change.with.colleen.
- 1:00:02SPEAKER_00: And I have a business Facebook, Change with Colleen.
- 1:00:06SPEAKER_00: My website is change.with.colleen.
- 1:00:09SPEAKER_00: And if you go to my link tree on the Instagram or on the website, there's downloads.
- 1:00:16SPEAKER_00: You can download a free guide transitioning eating to love.
- 1:00:20SPEAKER_00: There's a 26-minute grounding for weight loss breath work you can download.
- 1:00:24SPEAKER_00: I have a private Facebook group that I do live trainings every week.
- 1:00:28SPEAKER_00: I'm all just about like honestly, like spreading the word.
- 1:00:32SPEAKER_00: And the amount of people that have come to me and been like, I've been implementing this, I've changed, it's just where it's at.
- 1:00:39SPEAKER_00: Like a lot of people just follow what I do and through that are able to get like the little tips they need here and there to make an incredible shift in their relationship with food and the suppression.
- 1:00:52SPEAKER_00: And so that's like really what I'm all about.
- 1:00:54SPEAKER_00: I'm all about just educating and sharing the content.
- 1:00:57SPEAKER_00: Awesome.
- 1:00:58SPEAKER_00: I love that so much.
- 1:00:59SPEAKER_01: And I just love the idea of energetic weight loss.
- 1:01:02SPEAKER_01: So I'm super excited for you.
- 1:01:04SPEAKER_01: So, for our last question for you what is a non-negotiable when it comes to fully reclaiming your consciousness?
- 1:01:12SPEAKER_00: Good one.
- 1:01:13SPEAKER_00: Being self-aware.
- 1:01:14SPEAKER_00: Self-awareness is just that's like when you take to the next level, when you're like seeing what's like what about me is triggering.
- 1:01:22SPEAKER_01: Oh my God.
- 1:01:23SPEAKER_01: Yeah.
- 1:01:23SPEAKER_01: It's everything.
- 1:01:24SPEAKER_01: I mean, I do think that it's the reason why my clients get such powerful results is because of just the self-awareness that we cultivate, because that's everything.
- 1:01:35SPEAKER_01: I mean, that's what creates changes is the self-awareness, understanding what's actually going on and why you do what you do and what you're creating with your energy and your actions.
- 1:01:47SPEAKER_01: It's everything.
- 1:01:48SPEAKER_01: So I totally agree with you.
- 1:01:49SPEAKER_01: Thank you so much for being here.
- 1:01:51SPEAKER_01: This was amazing.
- 1:01:52SPEAKER_01: I'm so grateful that you could be on and I know everyone's gonna love it.
- 1:01:56SPEAKER_01: Yes, thank you so much, Elise.
