- 0:03Speaker 1: He shot. Hello, lower lower, lower, lower low. Welcome to
- 0:15Speaker 1: the Naughty but Night Show. I'm your host, Rob Shooter.
- 0:19Speaker 1: It's Friday, which means our dear friend, Corey. Andrew Joyant
- 0:23Speaker 1: says Corey, are you there? I am here everyone, Hello,
- 0:26Speaker 1: and happy Friday. Hello, my friend. So if I sound
- 0:30Speaker 1: like I've been up all night smoking Marlborough's and drinking whisker,
- 0:34Speaker 1: you're not that far off. I haven't been smoking and
- 0:36Speaker 1: I haven't been drinking. But we got hold of the
- 0:40Speaker 1: Harry book. Now, let me explain. The Harry book does
- 0:44Speaker 1: not come out until Tuesday worldwide. However, yesterday, for some
- 0:50Speaker 1: unknown reason, and I'm sure the publisher is furious about it,
- 0:54Speaker 1: Spain started to sell his book. So a friend of
- 0:57Speaker 1: mine is in Spain. They bought a copy of the book.
- 1:00Speaker 1: So every person, every journalist, every news organization is either
- 1:04Speaker 1: running to Spain and literally putting people on flights to
- 1:07Speaker 1: Spain to get this book, or they're trying to find
- 1:10Speaker 1: like people they know they went to college. If maybe,
- 1:13Speaker 1: if you're NBC News you have a bureau in Space,
- 1:15Speaker 1: that's okay. But Norty Gossip does not have a Spanish bureau.
- 1:18Speaker 1: That might surprise you. But I do have a friend
- 1:21Speaker 1: who lives in Spain, so I made her go and
- 1:24Speaker 1: get this book. And then it's in Spanish, so how
- 1:28Speaker 1: to translate it to me? I know the international phone
- 1:31Speaker 1: bill is going to be out of control, but it's
- 1:33Speaker 1: worth it. So after we got them translated, I sent
- 1:36Speaker 1: Corey the pages. I've been reading the pages we divided
- 1:40Speaker 1: and conquered Corey, which I think is the way to
- 1:42Speaker 1: always working in life. And today we're going to bring
- 1:46Speaker 1: you a special episode of all the juicy juicy scars
- 1:52Speaker 1: Let's gossip from Harry's new book, Corey. Just the big
- 1:56Speaker 1: picture here before we get into the details. I was
- 1:59Speaker 1: app resolutely flabbergasted. I couldn't believe my eyes when I
- 2:04Speaker 1: was reading Miss Yesterday. He went there. He certainly earned
- 2:07Speaker 1: his twenty million dollars. He told everything, yes, And of course,
- 2:11Speaker 1: you know people are going to clearly say that he's
- 2:14Speaker 1: fabricated some things, or that Megan he are just you know, conning,
- 2:18Speaker 1: But I don't believe. So it's I don't very genuine
- 2:21Speaker 1: and I was shocked as well. I was. He might
- 2:24Speaker 1: have got a few details wrong. We always do when
- 2:26Speaker 1: we retell stories in our lives. But this is how
- 2:28Speaker 1: he remembers it, and it is shocking. Let's jump into
- 2:31Speaker 1: the special edition of The Naughty but Nice Show. What
- 2:34Speaker 1: time is it, my friends? It's a royalty time. So
- 2:38Speaker 1: one of the biggest takeaways and the most shocking moment
- 2:41Speaker 1: for me in the book was Harry confessed he drove
- 2:44Speaker 1: through the tunnel where his mommy, Princess Diana died. He
- 2:49Speaker 1: did it deliberately, and he did it at the same
- 2:51Speaker 1: speed that Diana was going, saying, quote, I want to
- 2:56Speaker 1: go through it. So he recounts this in the book.
- 3:00Speaker 1: He was in Paris and it was some sort of
- 3:03Speaker 1: football thing. I think it was a Rugby World Cup
- 3:05Speaker 1: he was seeing two thousand and seven. He was twenty
- 3:08Speaker 1: three years old, and the World Cup people gave him
- 3:11Speaker 1: a driver. So when you travel, when you're somebody as
- 3:15Speaker 1: famous as Harry, they get you a driver. If you're
- 3:17Speaker 1: tailor or did they get you a driver. So we
- 3:19Speaker 1: had a driver, but the driver doesn't know him. It's
- 3:21Speaker 1: not his driver. They're meeting for the first time, and
- 3:24Speaker 1: he said to his driver, I want to go to
- 3:26Speaker 1: the tunnel where my mother died. And he said he
- 3:28Speaker 1: saw the driver's eyes in the rear view mirror grow large,
- 3:34Speaker 1: and he said, you know it, and he was like, yes, yes,
- 3:36Speaker 1: I know it. And so they went to the tunnel.
- 3:40Speaker 1: They went through the tunnel at precisely sixty five miles
- 3:44Speaker 1: per hour. That's the exact speed that the police reported
- 3:49Speaker 1: since thiss Diana was going when she had that fatal
- 3:53Speaker 1: fatal crash. It was not a hundred and twenty miles
- 3:56Speaker 1: per hour as originally was reported. It was sixty five.
- 3:59Speaker 1: He said they went over the lip and he barely
- 4:03Speaker 1: felt anything, and they went through the tunnel and he said,
- 4:06Speaker 1: I could count my heartbeats as we were going through it.
- 4:10Speaker 1: And we emerged from the other side, and he sat
- 4:13Speaker 1: back and quietly said, is that all of it? It's nothing.
- 4:18Speaker 1: It's just a tunnel, this tunnel that had been haunting
- 4:21Speaker 1: him for years. He suddenly figured out it was just
- 4:25Speaker 1: a tunnel. He added that he did it again. They
- 4:28Speaker 1: went through a second time, and he said he thought
- 4:31Speaker 1: driving through the tunnel would bring an end to the pain,
- 4:35Speaker 1: a decade of unrelated pain, but instead that didn't happen.
- 4:40Speaker 1: It brought him even more pain. That is so unbelievable.
- 4:45Speaker 1: And when you think about sixty five miles per hour.
- 4:47Speaker 1: For those of us who drive, that does not seem
- 4:50Speaker 1: like a sery high speed. But when you throw in
- 4:52Speaker 1: that you're being chased against your will and you're trying
- 4:55Speaker 1: to weave or dodge, perhaps to get away from people,
- 4:58Speaker 1: that makes all the difference in the world. So I
- 5:00Speaker 1: feel so bad reading this Heartbrecord. We had reports years
- 5:05Speaker 1: ago that he visited the place of his mother's death.
- 5:08Speaker 1: We knew he had been to that area. What we
- 5:12Speaker 1: didn't know is that he got in a car and
- 5:14Speaker 1: he recreated the evening of his mom's death onlievable. Hey
- 5:21Speaker 1: what did you pull out of the book, Corey? What
- 5:22Speaker 1: what caught your eye? Yeah? Well, you know, I think
- 5:25Speaker 1: this is a bit more of the brotherly brawling that's
- 5:27Speaker 1: going on between the two of them. So and in
- 5:29Speaker 1: the book of Course, Harry claims that his brother William
- 5:32Speaker 1: physically attacked him over Megan Marco. So he claims in
- 5:37Speaker 1: his new book Spare of Course, that his older brother,
- 5:39Speaker 1: Prince William physically attacked him and physically, yeah, physically attacked him. Yes,
- 5:44Speaker 1: Prince Harry claims that his brother William physically attacked him,
- 5:47Speaker 1: not mentally or verbally. Harry claims that William called Harry's wife,
- 5:51Speaker 1: Megan Marko, difficult, rude, and abrasive, which Harry goes on
- 5:55Speaker 1: to describe as parenting the press that was in the
- 5:58Speaker 1: British press, you know, calling Megan those very same things. Now,
- 6:02Speaker 1: in a response, Harry writes that William unleashed on him,
- 6:05Speaker 1: and it all happened so fast, so very fast. He
- 6:07Speaker 1: grabbed me by the collar, ripping my necklace, and he
- 6:10Speaker 1: knocked me to the floor. The author rights. He says,
- 6:13Speaker 1: I landed on the dog's bowl, which cracked under my
- 6:16Speaker 1: back and the pieces cut into me. I lay there
- 6:19Speaker 1: for a moment days then I got to my feet
- 6:21Speaker 1: and I told him to get out. Harry thirty eight
- 6:24Speaker 1: claims that the alleged altercation left him with visible back injury.
- 6:28Speaker 1: I'm not sure if he still suffers from it, but
- 6:30Speaker 1: at the time it was a visible, visible back injury.
- 6:34Speaker 1: Now that heated exchange with the forty year old William
- 6:36Speaker 1: occurred at Nottingham Cottage, which you've talked about off and
- 6:39Speaker 1: on our show, after he expressed interest in discussing the
- 6:43Speaker 1: rolling catastrophe of his crumbling relationship with Harry. Now, Harry
- 6:48Speaker 1: claims that William was piping hot during their chat. After
- 6:51Speaker 1: the insults were exchanged, Harry writes that William claimed he
- 6:54Speaker 1: only wanted to help his younger brother. He says, are
- 6:56Speaker 1: you serious? Helped me? Sorry? Is that what you call this?
- 7:00Speaker 1: Helping me? This comment, Harry writes, really angered William even more,
- 7:04Speaker 1: who then began swearing while stepping toward him. It's like
- 7:08Speaker 1: a street fight at this point. Yeah, yeah, you're like
- 7:10Speaker 1: in a bar room brawl basically. And so Harry told William, look, Willie,
- 7:14Speaker 1: I can't speak to you when you're like this, and
- 7:16Speaker 1: he offered him a glass of water before he was
- 7:18Speaker 1: allegedly assaulted. Now here's an interesting fact too. Now, of
- 7:23Speaker 1: course the Palace, who always typically you know, have to
- 7:25Speaker 1: respond to these things. The Palace responded to this allegation
- 7:29Speaker 1: that William physically assaulted Harry over Megan Markham in their
- 7:32Speaker 1: usual fashion, they refused to comment anything but the comment
- 7:37Speaker 1: a physical attack inside a royal palace, Inside a royal palace,
- 7:41Speaker 1: he said, William was piping hot, piping out, livid, lunged
- 7:46Speaker 1: for him, got him. And you know, if rob is
- 7:48Speaker 1: funny to those words rude, difficult, you know, I've discussed
- 7:52Speaker 1: those words and what they mean. Very often when women
- 7:55Speaker 1: are called those words. You've had this discussion on the
- 7:57Speaker 1: show where you know that's a code word for for
- 8:00Speaker 1: the B word. Basically, what's shocking about this is that
- 8:04Speaker 1: if you called my partner those words, it would be
- 8:08Speaker 1: me lunging at you. William did both. Not only did
- 8:11Speaker 1: he assault William Megan verbally too. It is William really
- 8:19Speaker 1: to put that cottage furious? Yes, that's pretty ready for it.
- 8:24Speaker 1: Harry said, it was like a duel, going back into
- 8:26Speaker 1: Medievil times. William turned up and oh my goodness, it exploded.
- 8:32Speaker 1: We knew things were bad between the two brothers, we
- 8:35Speaker 1: didn't know it had got to physical, but now we do.
- 8:39Speaker 1: This is an excerpt. We're trying to find details for
- 8:42Speaker 1: each family member so that you don't have to listen
- 8:45Speaker 1: to any other podcast or read anything. Everything here is
- 8:48Speaker 1: on the Naughty but Nice Show. So Harry said that
- 8:51Speaker 1: William urged King Charles not to marry their quote wicked
- 8:56Speaker 1: stepmother Miller. So if you remember in the infamous interview,
- 9:06Speaker 1: Diana said, quote, there are three of us in this marriage,
- 9:09Speaker 1: so it's a bit crowded. Well after that, after that interview,
- 9:14Speaker 1: they all knew he said his mom tried to shelter
- 9:17Speaker 1: them from the fact his dad was having an affair.
- 9:19Speaker 1: She didn't talk about it, but after she admitted it
- 9:22Speaker 1: on National TV, they all knew about it. And when
- 9:26Speaker 1: and then when their father married cam Miller, Harry writes, quote,
- 9:30Speaker 1: despite Willie and me urging him not to do it,
- 9:32Speaker 1: par was going ahead. We bumped his hand and wished
- 9:38Speaker 1: him well, no hard feelings. We recognized that he was
- 9:44Speaker 1: finally going to be with the woman he loved and
- 9:47Speaker 1: the woman he always loved. They had come to terms
- 9:52Speaker 1: as young boys with the fact that they knew their
- 9:55Speaker 1: dad did not love their mom. And then when their
- 9:59Speaker 1: dad did finally propose get married to Camilla, at first
- 10:04Speaker 1: they tried to tell him not to do it, but
- 10:06Speaker 1: they accepted it. And I think, although that's phrase wicked
- 10:10Speaker 1: stepmother's there, he's using that as a little bit tongue
- 10:14Speaker 1: in cheek. He's not calling her that, he's saying that's
- 10:17Speaker 1: what the media called her. And in fact, there's not
- 10:21Speaker 1: a lot about Camilla or his dad actually in this book.
- 10:25Speaker 1: Most of the drama he's turned towards William and hate,
- 10:31Speaker 1: which just sets you up beautifully car for the next story. Yeah, absolutely,
- 10:36Speaker 1: because this was a big controversy. I remember what had happened,
- 10:39Speaker 1: and I guessed when I saw this. But you know,
- 10:41Speaker 1: Prince Harry claims that it was William and Kate who
- 10:44Speaker 1: told him to wear that infamous Nazi costume that was
- 10:48Speaker 1: all over the headlines a few years back. Were quite
- 10:51Speaker 1: a few years back, of course, But Prince Harry, he
- 10:53Speaker 1: has sensationally put some of the blame on this Nazi
- 10:57Speaker 1: uniform scandal on his brother William and his sister in
- 11:00Speaker 1: law Kate Middleton and this new and this new memoir.
- 11:03Speaker 1: Now the Duke of Sussex will claim the Prince and
- 11:06Speaker 1: Princess of Wales howled with laughter when they saw him
- 11:09Speaker 1: dressed up for this two thousand five party. Now, Harry
- 11:12Speaker 1: was twenty years old when the Sun newspaper published a
- 11:15Speaker 1: front page photo of him dressed as a nazimengerer with
- 11:20Speaker 1: a red arm band emblazoned with a big swashtika. Really disgusting. Yeah,
- 11:25Speaker 1: but the picture was taking taken at a costume party
- 11:29Speaker 1: with a native and colonial theme, which is there's nothing yeah,
- 11:34Speaker 1: I mean they all went to the party just looking
- 11:37Speaker 1: for trouble with that that theme. But but William was
- 11:40Speaker 1: also a guest there, and he was dressed in a
- 11:43Speaker 1: homemade lion outfit, which I'm not sure how that fits
- 11:46Speaker 1: into anything William was and oh maybe so a lion.
- 11:53Speaker 1: That's that's even more gross than a weird way. But
- 11:55Speaker 1: in one segment of the book, Harry writes about choosing
- 11:57Speaker 1: the outfit, and he reveals that it was a toss
- 11:59Speaker 1: up between two costumes, either a pilot or a Nazi.
- 12:02Speaker 1: He I think you paid. You made a wrong choice there, buddy,
- 12:08Speaker 1: But he says, I phoned William Kate. I asked what
- 12:11Speaker 1: they thought. Not to the uniform, they said, Harry writes,
- 12:14Speaker 1: adding adding that when he went home and tried it
- 12:16Speaker 1: on for them, they both how old as they laughed
- 12:20Speaker 1: at it, and they really thought it was funny and
- 12:21Speaker 1: fun They encouraged him to wear it, he's claiming, now
- 12:24Speaker 1: worse than Willie's leotard outfit, way more ridiculous, of course,
- 12:29Speaker 1: which again was the point. You know, it was like
- 12:31Speaker 1: a much more fun they thought of a costume more
- 12:33Speaker 1: than the lion, but of course it was grotesque as
- 12:35Speaker 1: a Nazi soldier. That Although the Duke of Sessex has
- 12:38Speaker 1: called the Nazi incident one of the biggest mistakes of
- 12:41Speaker 1: his life. One senior publishing Sturce, who has read Harry's spare,
- 12:44Speaker 1: told us it's strange as you think that Harry would
- 12:48Speaker 1: take ownership of this and just move on and not
- 12:51Speaker 1: drag his to it. But he makes it clear that
- 12:54Speaker 1: he feels strongly about William's role in this big scandal.
- 12:59Speaker 1: It's it's true, though, because I think when I read this,
- 13:02Speaker 1: I thought, well, it was a long time ago, and
- 13:04Speaker 1: granted he was the older brother at the time who
- 13:06Speaker 1: advised him, but it's done. You made the choice to
- 13:09Speaker 1: do this, and let's not try to put blame on it.
- 13:12Speaker 1: There's something really personal going on with this. It's personal.
- 13:15Speaker 1: You can feel it in the pages of the book.
- 13:17Speaker 1: This is personal. This is Harry telling his story. This
- 13:20Speaker 1: is a man who feels like he has lost his voice.
- 13:23Speaker 1: For his entire life, not had a voice, and now
- 13:25Speaker 1: he has it. And I asked some friends of Harry
- 13:28Speaker 1: about this, because obviously he had to mention talk about
- 13:31Speaker 1: that Nazi uniform. It was one of the biggest, biggest
- 13:35Speaker 1: moments of his life. He was on the cover of newspapers.
- 13:37Speaker 1: He said it was probably the worst moment of his
- 13:40Speaker 1: entire life, the biggest mistake of my life. You have
- 13:43Speaker 1: to talk about your your mistakes. I was told that
- 13:46Speaker 1: he's not blaming William and kat here, but he's putting
- 13:49Speaker 1: it into context that they were part of this, that yes,
- 13:52Speaker 1: it was his choice. He ultimately wore it. And I
- 13:55Speaker 1: think if you really do read the pages are on
- 13:57Speaker 1: this uniform, this disgusting austume. I do think you get
- 14:01Speaker 1: that the headlines make out here as if he's blaming them,
- 14:04Speaker 1: and there's a little bit of that, but he's sort
- 14:07Speaker 1: of informing us on the entire story here. It's a
- 14:10Speaker 1: shocking story, and I do I do find it really
- 14:13Speaker 1: interesting that they saw the costume before he went Towehead
- 14:17Speaker 1: and they were like shocked. They were like, oh my god,
- 14:21Speaker 1: there was The royals were so angry and it had
- 14:23Speaker 1: this new narrative that William had this crazy brother and
- 14:28Speaker 1: they said they didn't actually say at the time, we
- 14:31Speaker 1: saw it and we thought it was funny. Hey keep moving,
- 14:34Speaker 1: because we got so much to get to. Another William
- 14:39Speaker 1: story that I thought was was really wild is that
- 14:42Speaker 1: in his book he calls William his arch nemy. There
- 14:48Speaker 1: it's like, you can't get more clear that you can't
- 14:50Speaker 1: get him on that. He said, there's always been competition
- 14:53Speaker 1: between us, and he said, I think it really plays
- 14:56Speaker 1: into the air and the spare labels, which is all
- 15:00Speaker 1: simothly what he called the book. He said that this
- 15:04Speaker 1: is what his life was from the day he was born.
- 15:10Speaker 1: He was the spare and within the structure of the
- 15:13Speaker 1: family and the institution, he was number two. He was
- 15:16Speaker 1: never ever allowed to be number one, you know, because
- 15:20Speaker 1: I think we think before reading this book that the
- 15:23Speaker 1: brothers had a huge falling out and then no longer close.
- 15:26Speaker 1: What Harry is saying is we were never as close
- 15:28Speaker 1: as you think. I was always in the shadows, and
- 15:33Speaker 1: William was always my arch nemesis. Absolutely, yeah. And you know,
- 15:38Speaker 1: and it's funny because the next story that I'm going
- 15:40Speaker 1: to share, obviously he has to do a lot with
- 15:42Speaker 1: that um and he must have always from day one
- 15:46Speaker 1: been made to feel like he was not really the
- 15:48Speaker 1: heir apparent in any way shape, and he just reveals
- 15:52Speaker 1: that right there, I mean, his arch nemesis. That's like
- 15:55Speaker 1: when you nemesis, that's like Darth Vader and likes it's like,
- 15:59Speaker 1: oh thing. We also get a whole chapter where Megan
- 16:02Speaker 1: Markle was reprimanded for a comment about Kate, so Harry
- 16:09Speaker 1: claims that Megan was firmly put in her place for
- 16:12Speaker 1: making a comment about Kate ahead of their wedding. He
- 16:16Speaker 1: wrote that Megan told Kate that she must have quote
- 16:20Speaker 1: baby brain because of her hormones. So there was a
- 16:25Speaker 1: an incident before the wedding and Kate didn't remember something
- 16:30Speaker 1: and Megan, in I think a kind way, was trying
- 16:33Speaker 1: to let her, oh, you just forgotten it, or you
- 16:37Speaker 1: just had a baby and you've got baby brain. And
- 16:40Speaker 1: well Kate did not find that funny at all, and
- 16:44Speaker 1: she was really offended by it and said, we're not
- 16:47Speaker 1: close enough for you to be making jokes or comments
- 16:50Speaker 1: about my whole. And so they had an explosive, explosive
- 16:57Speaker 1: falling out that ended up with Willie him putting his
- 17:01Speaker 1: finger in Megan markles face. Oh my goodness. Well Megan
- 17:07Speaker 1: was having none of that. Megan said, remove your finger
- 17:10Speaker 1: from my face. This is explosive. This is before the wedding.
- 17:18Speaker 1: So we think that everything was great, remember that wedding.
- 17:21Speaker 1: Everything was great? Wasn't from day one almost this was
- 17:26Speaker 1: a disaster. Now, talking of weddings, what did Harry say
- 17:30Speaker 1: about William when he got married. So Prince Harry says
- 17:34Speaker 1: that Prince William was gone forever after the Kate Middleton wedding,
- 17:37Speaker 1: so he felt like there was already this separation that
- 17:40Speaker 1: was just kind of irreconcilable at that point. So Prince
- 17:43Speaker 1: Harry reflects in his new memoir Spare On saying goodbye
- 17:47Speaker 1: to his relationship with Prince William. When the Prince of
- 17:50Speaker 1: Wales married Kate Middleton in two thousand eleven, the brother
- 17:54Speaker 1: I escorted into Westminster Abbey that morning was gone. He'd
- 17:58Speaker 1: never again be first and foremost Willie Pete, never ride
- 18:02Speaker 1: with him again across the countryside with keeps blowing behind them.
- 18:05Speaker 1: We'd never again share a horsey's smelling cornage while learning
- 18:09Speaker 1: to fly. Who shall separate us life? That's we all
- 18:14Speaker 1: think it's the wedding with Megan. It wasn't. When he
- 18:16Speaker 1: married Kate, Harry felt abandoned. Harry felt as if he
- 18:20Speaker 1: lost his brother. And that's when he really married into
- 18:22Speaker 1: the institution of becoming the King of England. That's when
- 18:26Speaker 1: he became a real member of the royal family. Before then,
- 18:29Speaker 1: there were just two young kids joined London lots and
- 18:32Speaker 1: lots of privilege running around London together. But when he
- 18:35Speaker 1: got married he started to take the royal part of
- 18:38Speaker 1: the institution, seriously the institution, and that's when he lost
- 18:41Speaker 1: his brother. So I think that we're going to figure out,
- 18:44Speaker 1: or anybody that's read the book is going to read
- 18:47Speaker 1: the book, that's the moment that you will figure out
- 18:49Speaker 1: this relationship was over that. Hey, we have ran out
- 18:54Speaker 1: of time. We have so much more to get to
