- 0:13Speaker 1: Hello you, guys, Welcome back to another episode of the
- 0:16Speaker 1: Hawkerel Energy Podcast. I'm your host, Kaylee, and this is
- 0:19Speaker 1: your weekly reminder that it's a new day, a new week,
- 0:22Speaker 1: a new mindset, and another day if you become the
- 0:24Speaker 1: Hawkerel Energy you want to attract. Hello you, guys, welcome
- 0:28Speaker 1: back to another episode. As you can see by this title,
- 0:33Speaker 1: we are officially starting the wedding series. Guys. I literally
- 0:38Speaker 1: leave for my wedding in three frickin' days. Three days.
- 0:43Speaker 1: I cannot believe it. We have been talking about this
- 0:45Speaker 1: for so long and I just can't believe the day
- 0:48Speaker 1: is coming so soon. And yeah, I just I feel
- 0:52Speaker 1: like there's so much going on these past few weeks.
- 0:54Speaker 1: And I want to apologize for not posting an episode
- 0:57Speaker 1: last week because we were in the th of wedding planning.
- 1:01Speaker 1: I'm going to be fully transparent. There was a lot
- 1:03Speaker 1: of things that were thrown at us, and you know
- 1:07Speaker 1: that obviously had to be a priority, and I had
- 1:09Speaker 1: other things that I had to film for work as well.
- 1:11Speaker 1: I had to film at least I think three to
- 1:13Speaker 1: four brand deals before I left for my trip, which
- 1:16Speaker 1: obviously has been extremely time consuming. And then on top
- 1:19Speaker 1: of that, also filming like personal content and getting wedding
- 1:23Speaker 1: planning stuff done and all that. But I have Zach
- 1:27Speaker 1: here with me.
- 1:28Speaker 2: How's it going, guys?
- 1:29Speaker 1: Zach is back on the podcast because I'm like, you
- 1:31Speaker 1: know what, he needs to be a part of these
- 1:33Speaker 1: next two episodes because obviously, a marriage is a team.
- 1:36Speaker 1: It's not just me as a single wife, it's a
- 1:39Speaker 1: husband and wife. I want him to be a part
- 1:43Speaker 1: of this episode. So we thought we could make this
- 1:46Speaker 1: wedding series a two part series essentially. I think this
- 1:48Speaker 1: first episode here is going to be about just kind
- 1:51Speaker 1: of what's been going on these past few weeks. I
- 1:53Speaker 1: feel like there's been a lot of like behind the
- 1:56Speaker 1: scenes that I haven't really shared on social media that's
- 1:58Speaker 1: been going on here on our end intern of just
- 2:00Speaker 1: like I don't know, just a lot of work in
- 2:03Speaker 1: terms of wedding planning that we'll get into detail about.
- 2:05Speaker 2: You're kind of revealing the curtain or you're revealing what's
- 2:07Speaker 2: behind the curtain for yeah, six months.
- 2:11Speaker 1: Yes, exactly. And then we're also going to talk about
- 2:13Speaker 1: some pros and cons of doing a destination wedding because
- 2:16Speaker 1: I've had a lot of messages just people talking about
- 2:19Speaker 1: and asking me questions about, you know, what it's like
- 2:22Speaker 1: doing a destination wedding. Do we have any tips recommend
- 2:25Speaker 1: our planners all that. So we're going to also spill
- 2:27Speaker 1: the tea on some pros and cons of us planning
- 2:29Speaker 1: a wedding in Italy, as well as maybe some things
- 2:32Speaker 1: that we think might change going into marriage and becoming
- 2:37Speaker 1: husband and wife. So let's get into it. The next
- 2:40Speaker 1: episode is going to be more focused on spilling the
- 2:42Speaker 1: tea of the entire wedding week. We're going to be
- 2:45Speaker 1: telling you guys every detail before the wedding even happens.
- 2:48Speaker 1: You guys are going to hear everything, and that way,
- 2:50Speaker 1: you guys going to know where it's happening, what is happening,
- 2:53Speaker 1: just all the fine details to make it feel like
- 2:55Speaker 1: you guys are actually about to come to the wedding yourself.
- 2:58Speaker 1: And then you'll be able to see all the visuals
- 3:00Speaker 1: on my Instagram, on my TikTok, on my YouTube. It's
- 3:03Speaker 1: all linked down below and you guys will see the
- 3:05Speaker 1: vision come to life. So let's get into this all right.
- 3:09Speaker 1: So let's talk about just our wedding planning process. So
- 3:12Speaker 1: we've been engaged now for a year and a half year,
- 3:18Speaker 1: so we didn't really rush into things in terms of
- 3:20Speaker 1: planning the wedding. Like we took at least six months
- 3:22Speaker 1: I think until we actually officially like reached out to
- 3:24Speaker 1: our planners. We reached out to them in July and
- 3:28Speaker 1: we got engaged in February. February, March, April, May, June, July. Yeah,
- 3:32Speaker 1: so six months. So we kind of wanted to save
- 3:34Speaker 1: a bit of money, also talk about, okay, what is
- 3:37Speaker 1: our realistic approach for where to go if we want
- 3:40Speaker 1: to do it at home? Did we want to do it?
- 3:42Speaker 1: We actually were considering Mexico. I don't think I've told
- 3:45Speaker 1: them that we considered Mexico in the beginning. We thought
- 3:47Speaker 1: doing Lost Cabos would be a really nice idea. A
- 3:50Speaker 1: lot of weddings have been done there, it's absolutely beautiful.
- 3:53Speaker 1: And then Europe was always on my mind. But financially,
- 3:57Speaker 1: I just assumed it would cost more to do it
- 4:00Speaker 1: there versus anywhere else. And once we were starting to
- 4:03Speaker 1: go on Pinterest and save images of what our vision
- 4:06Speaker 1: was and all that, it wasn't giving Mexico. Let's just
- 4:10Speaker 1: say that wasn't giving the desert vibes it wasn't giving
- 4:14Speaker 1: coastal beach vibes, it was giving more European elegant vibes.
- 4:18Speaker 1: So obviously I don't want to share my Pinterest board yet,
- 4:22Speaker 1: but I will share it once the wedding is over,
- 4:24Speaker 1: just because I'm happy to give anybody inspo for their wedding,
- 4:27Speaker 1: but I wanted to give it a little bit of
- 4:29Speaker 1: a surprise obviously since we're getting so close to the date.
- 4:32Speaker 1: But I'm happy to share that after the wedding. But
- 4:34Speaker 1: from saving Pinterest images and all that, that really helped
- 4:37Speaker 1: us determine where we were going to get married, and
- 4:40Speaker 1: so we decided to do our own investigation in terms
- 4:43Speaker 1: of like, okay, like does this financially make sense? Can
- 4:46Speaker 1: we do it? And realize that we could do it,
- 4:49Speaker 1: and we thought it was kind of crazy that we're like,
- 4:52Speaker 1: so we're just going to get on a flight to
- 4:53Speaker 1: Europe and go book a wedding venue, Like what, like,
- 4:56Speaker 1: what do you mean we're going to do that? It
- 4:58Speaker 1: was so crazy and that's what we did.
- 5:01Speaker 2: Right, Yeah, I mean there's a lot of legwork before that, though, Yes,
- 5:05Speaker 2: talking the planners, what kind of vision did you want? What?
- 5:07Speaker 2: What did you want in the venue, what did you want?
- 5:09Speaker 1: In the true? True? So we found our planners through Instagram.
- 5:13Speaker 1: That was the way we found them. Like, I think
- 5:16Speaker 1: we just searched Italy wedding planners.
- 5:18Speaker 2: I think No, I think they did a wedding of
- 5:21Speaker 2: somebody that you followed. No, oh, okay, No, there's.
- 5:24Speaker 1: No one that I saw that. There was a planner
- 5:27Speaker 1: that we reached out to, but we ended up not
- 5:28Speaker 1: going with her because she was She's done a few
- 5:32Speaker 1: weddings in Italy. I'm not going to say like who
- 5:34Speaker 1: the influencers are, but I actually had one influencer who's
- 5:37Speaker 1: a pretty big influencer. I messaged her and I said, hey, like,
- 5:41Speaker 1: how was your planner? Like do you recommend her? Do
- 5:43Speaker 1: you not? She said some things that didn't sit well
- 5:46Speaker 1: with me that made me not want to go with
- 5:48Speaker 1: this planner specifically, And she's actually working with a lot
- 5:50Speaker 1: of other other influencers as well. I just honestly wasn't
- 5:54Speaker 1: on board with working with someone that was going to,
- 5:57Speaker 1: i don't know, just not execute everything professionally, if that
- 6:01Speaker 1: makes sense. So we ended up not working with a planner.
- 6:04Speaker 1: We ended up obviously paying our own money for it
- 6:06Speaker 1: and everything, and I think that was the right decision
- 6:09Speaker 1: because our planners, they are a team of four, and
- 6:12Speaker 1: I just think it's very well managed in terms of
- 6:15Speaker 1: everyone has a position in terms of how they execute
- 6:18Speaker 1: the wedding planning process, whereas the other planning where we
- 6:21Speaker 1: were looking at was just a one team person like
- 6:24Speaker 1: she had no one else. We actually had a situation
- 6:26Speaker 1: with our planners that one of them had a passing
- 6:29Speaker 1: in their family recently, which obviously that is a huge
- 6:33Speaker 1: disappointment and a huge situation where she can't work right,
- 6:38Speaker 1: like she had to take a step aside from work
- 6:40Speaker 1: and all that. So I couldn't imagine having a one
- 6:42Speaker 1: person planner having to step aside from a parent passing
- 6:46Speaker 1: when your wedding is literally three weeks away, like to
- 6:49Speaker 1: be fully transparent, like it's hard to work alone in
- 6:51Speaker 1: that type of circumstance when there's a passing in your family, right.
- 6:54Speaker 1: So I'm happy that we were able to press forward
- 6:57Speaker 1: with a team of four and they've been so great.
- 7:00Speaker 1: Their planner's names are Rosini Weddings. If you're looking to
- 7:04Speaker 1: get married in Italy, I highly highly recommend them. They've
- 7:07Speaker 1: been so great, And yeah, I think obviously every wedding
- 7:12Speaker 1: comes with pros and cons and that's what I think
- 7:14Speaker 1: we're going to talk about. And yeah, I don't know.
- 7:17Speaker 1: I just think they've been super great throughout the process
- 7:20Speaker 1: so far, and yeah, we're excited to see how everything
- 7:24Speaker 1: comes together. So once we found our planners in July,
- 7:28Speaker 1: that's when we kind of discussed different venues. They did
- 7:31Speaker 1: all of the research in terms of what venues to
- 7:34Speaker 1: secure and all that, like to go visit sorry, not secure.
- 7:39Speaker 1: So we nailed it down to three different areas in Italy,
- 7:44Speaker 1: which was Lake Como, Rome Verona in te for Sorry. Originally,
- 7:52Speaker 1: originally we did not go with any of those four.
- 7:56Speaker 1: So if you think that we're getting married in Tuscany,
- 7:58Speaker 1: we're not. If you think you're getting married and home,
- 8:00Speaker 1: we're not, Like Como, we're not. So think of other
- 8:03Speaker 1: places in Italy. I feel like people definitely know at this,
- 8:06Speaker 1: but we're not sharing.
- 8:07Speaker 2: But we went. We went, We went in and originally
- 8:11Speaker 2: they had like thirty something venues they wanted us to
- 8:14Speaker 2: narrow it down to. We narrowed it down to I
- 8:17Speaker 2: want to say ten, maybe to go look at what
- 8:19Speaker 2: we're there. Yeah, we had a great trip in Italy.
- 8:22Speaker 2: We went. We went over in the fall September.
- 8:24Speaker 1: I think it was actually perfect though, because there wasn't
- 8:26Speaker 1: too many tourists, Like, it was not too hot, not
- 8:30Speaker 1: too cold, it was still actually really warm. To be honest,
- 8:32Speaker 1: it was.
- 8:32Speaker 2: It was actually a great trip. It was it was
- 8:33Speaker 2: really good. It was really fun trip. But we didn't
- 8:37Speaker 2: find our wedding.
- 8:37Speaker 1: Venue, which was extremely stressful. Like when we got home,
- 8:42Speaker 1: there was actually a lot of tears because I think
- 8:44Speaker 1: we felt really lost and we felt like we actually
- 8:48Speaker 1: I think at one point went back to Mexico.
- 8:49Speaker 2: We went back to Mexico and we went back to.
- 8:51Speaker 1: Mexico because we were like, I don't think Italy is
- 8:53Speaker 1: going to be it like. And it wasn't about the
- 8:56Speaker 1: finances or the visuals or anything like that. It was
- 8:59Speaker 1: more so the rules.
- 9:01Speaker 2: For like and the feeling of the venue.
- 9:03Speaker 1: The feeling of the venue was like smaller than we
- 9:05Speaker 1: anticipated and just like not what we envisioned. The rules
- 9:09Speaker 1: for certain venues are like you can't play music outside
- 9:12Speaker 1: past nine pm. It's got to be indoors. It's like, okay, well,
- 9:15Speaker 1: if I'm paying to have a wedding in Italy, I
- 9:17Speaker 1: want to be under the star stars in Italy dancing
- 9:20Speaker 1: my ass off. I'm not gonna want to be thrown
- 9:22Speaker 1: into a small little cave. Remember that one that had
- 9:25Speaker 1: you could barely you could barely fit thirty people in there,
- 9:28Speaker 1: and we have like fifty. Imagine if we said yesterday
- 9:32Speaker 1: we threw fifty five people in there.
- 9:34Speaker 2: There was five people on our tour, and we asked
- 9:36Speaker 2: the person showing us the venue, Oh, how many people
- 9:39Speaker 2: can we fit in here? They said sixty, And our
- 9:41Speaker 2: planners turned and looked at us and said, there's no way.
- 9:46Speaker 1: It was so tight it would have been awful, like
- 9:48Speaker 1: it just everyone would have been sweating. There wasn't even
- 9:50Speaker 1: enough room for dancing. Like imagine like an old rustic
- 9:54Speaker 1: wine cellar in the basement, Like that's exactly what it was,
- 9:57Speaker 1: giving that cave vibe, and it, Yeah, it just wasn't it.
- 10:01Speaker 1: So we thought, you know, with the rules that way.
- 10:04Speaker 1: That was in Lake Como. To be honest, a lot
- 10:05Speaker 1: of the Lake Como venues had some pretty strict rules, which, honestly,
- 10:09Speaker 1: I think that kind of was a meant to be
- 10:10Speaker 1: situation because I feel like I don't know. I was
- 10:13Speaker 1: also that kind of person where I'm like, I don't
- 10:14Speaker 1: want to overdo it in either the same venue that
- 10:17Speaker 1: everybody does or the same location. I kind of wanted
- 10:20Speaker 1: to do a different part of Italy that I feel
- 10:22Speaker 1: like I haven't seen too many weddings at. However, there
- 10:26Speaker 1: was one influencer that I follow She just got married
- 10:29Speaker 1: recently at our wedding venue, which got me so excited.
- 10:33Speaker 1: When I actually saw her wedding there, it made me
- 10:36Speaker 1: feel ten times more secure about our wedding. Like I
- 10:38Speaker 1: already felt secure, but like seeing kind of her vision
- 10:42Speaker 1: on our venue made me ten times more excited to
- 10:45Speaker 1: see how our wedding turned out. But I don't know,
- 10:48Speaker 1: I feel like that helps when you see another wedding
- 10:50Speaker 1: like happen at your venue. I feel like if you're
- 10:53Speaker 1: a bride, you get it. But yeah, it's hard to
- 10:55Speaker 1: really visualize everything too right because when you go to
- 10:58Speaker 1: these venue visits, there's no wedding setup. You really have
- 11:01Speaker 1: to visualize, Okay, what would this area look like with
- 11:04Speaker 1: a ceremony setup, what would this area look like with
- 11:07Speaker 1: a dinner table setup? Like you're going to see a
- 11:10Speaker 1: blank canvas with no florals, nothing right, So it's really
- 11:13Speaker 1: hard to make a decision based off that I find
- 11:16Speaker 1: I think that was one thing that we kind of
- 11:17Speaker 1: struggled with. We were like, okay, like we got to
- 11:19Speaker 1: imagine this here and then this here. But it did
- 11:22Speaker 1: also help us determine what to say no to because
- 11:25Speaker 1: we're like, this feels crammed, like we can't fit you know,
- 11:28Speaker 1: everybody here for the ceremony.
- 11:29Speaker 2: I else feel like when it came to visualizing the venues,
- 11:33Speaker 2: it got tough because you're almost over anticipating what you
- 11:39Speaker 2: can do. For all, we can put flowers here, we
- 11:41Speaker 2: can do we can do drapes and curtains over here,
- 11:44Speaker 2: we can do all this. We can do lights here,
- 11:46Speaker 2: we can do this, but you don't know the cost
- 11:49Speaker 2: of anything.
- 11:49Speaker 1: You don't know the cost anything. You also don't know. Again,
- 11:51Speaker 1: it goes back to the rules. There's certain things that
- 11:53Speaker 1: they're like, yeah, you can't put flowers on this, like
- 11:56Speaker 1: that is you're not allowed to do that.
- 11:57Speaker 2: So can open up those windows.
- 11:59Speaker 1: You can't do this, yeah, Or it's like, oh, we'd
- 12:01Speaker 1: love to have the ceremony here versus over there, and
- 12:03Speaker 1: it's like, well, no, Like you have to have the
- 12:05Speaker 1: ceremony there and you have to have the perception here.
- 12:07Speaker 1: So there's little things that you don't think about that
- 12:11Speaker 1: plays a huge factor in your venue selection and costs exactly.
- 12:15Speaker 1: So it does. It truly does add up, guys.
- 12:18Speaker 2: The trip was good because it taught.
- 12:20Speaker 1: Us what to ask, But there was a lot of
- 12:22Speaker 1: places that we saw on Instagram and then we saw
- 12:25Speaker 1: it in person and we're like, whoa, Thank god we
- 12:28Speaker 1: saw this in person before we just assumed right.
- 12:32Speaker 2: Difference.
- 12:35Speaker 1: And again, angles are important for photos for sure for
- 12:39Speaker 1: the wedding day, but you also want to be there
- 12:41Speaker 1: and feel like you're not crammed. Like a lot of
- 12:43Speaker 1: these places were a lot smaller than we anticipated. When
- 12:46Speaker 1: we went to go see some of the venues in
- 12:48Speaker 1: Lake Como, we thought they were way bigger, and then
- 12:51Speaker 1: when you got there, we're like, whoa, this is pretty small.
- 12:53Speaker 1: So going back to our wedding venue, we took the
- 12:57Speaker 1: risk and fully booked the wedding venue based off of
- 13:01Speaker 1: pictures we saw on Instagram, and when I went to
- 13:04Speaker 1: go visit it in May, it totally exceeded my expectations.
- 13:08Speaker 1: It was beyond perfect. It was exactly what I envisioned
- 13:12Speaker 1: for our wedding, So I was really really happy to
- 13:14Speaker 1: see it in person. Zach actually hasn't seen him person yet,
- 13:17Speaker 1: So I literally I'm so giddy about you seeing it.
- 13:20Speaker 1: It's insane, Like it's literally one of the most beautiful
- 13:23Speaker 1: places I've ever seen. I'm not even over exaggerating.
- 13:25Speaker 2: It's like, Oh, I'm literally going to be the TikTok
- 13:28Speaker 2: of well my fiance sees what I've been planning for
- 13:31Speaker 2: the last nine months. Yeah, that's literally gonna be.
- 13:33Speaker 1: But I will say Zach has been very involved in
- 13:36Speaker 1: the wedding planning process, and I would say more than
- 13:38Speaker 1: most guys, Like, he has been very involved, and I'm
- 13:40Speaker 1: very grateful for that because I am a stress nut
- 13:43Speaker 1: when it comes to this kind of stuff, and he's
- 13:46Speaker 1: been very, very helpful, Like he's been managing all the
- 13:50Speaker 1: like banking details, He's been helping a lot with the emails.
- 13:54Speaker 1: He's been helping just like paying vendors find details. However,
- 13:58Speaker 1: you have been helping.
- 13:59Speaker 2: With you have the look I have the I feel
- 14:02Speaker 2: like I'm more on the organizational side in the schedule,
- 14:04Speaker 2: that kind of thing.
- 14:05Speaker 1: I think we're going to film a TikTok before we
- 14:06Speaker 1: leave of me asking Zach questions like things that are
- 14:10Speaker 1: happening at the wedding that he may or may not dress. No,
- 14:14Speaker 1: I'm not gonna well, I do want to ask what
- 14:15Speaker 1: the dress? The dress I am, it has we have
- 14:18Speaker 1: to do it. It's just something that you have to
- 14:19Speaker 1: do to be offended offended. Now, I would not be offended.
- 14:26Speaker 1: I would not be offended at all. Like you. This
- 14:28Speaker 1: is again, you're not supposed to talk about like what
- 14:30Speaker 1: you think is the perfect dress. You're supposed to talk
- 14:33Speaker 1: about like what you think I would have picked? Okay, okay,
- 14:36Speaker 1: and then you'll see on the wedding day if you
- 14:37Speaker 1: think my mind was correct in terms of what I
- 14:39Speaker 1: think like flatters me. It's not about like, so don't
- 14:43Speaker 1: think about oh no, I want to see her in this.
- 14:45Speaker 1: That's not how you're supposed to You're supposed to think, Okay,
- 14:47Speaker 1: what would Cally go for? And that's how you describe it.
- 14:50Speaker 1: I do think we should film a TikTok of us
- 14:53Speaker 1: talking about things that you may or may not know
- 14:55Speaker 1: that's happening at the wedding, Like what color of flowers
- 14:58Speaker 1: did we do? Like what like just kind of like
- 15:01Speaker 1: give little sneak peaks away that I mean, I think
- 15:03Speaker 1: you're gonna know a lot of the answers because Zach's
- 15:06Speaker 1: very involved. We've been honestly planning wedding planning meetings around
- 15:10Speaker 1: Zach's work schedule before it even starts work. So you
- 15:12Speaker 1: can imagine me waking up at five am taking these
- 15:15Speaker 1: wedding calls so Zach and I can do this wedding
- 15:18Speaker 1: planning meeting together. Because Zach's like, I want to be
- 15:21Speaker 1: part of it. I want to be a part of it,
- 15:22Speaker 1: which I really appreciate. So that's made the process more fun.
- 15:26Speaker 1: I think, being able to have you involved and not
- 15:28Speaker 1: just me, because I feel like a lot of my
- 15:31Speaker 1: friends have had just like them plan at all, which
- 15:32Speaker 1: I mean is totally fine whatever works within your relationship,
- 15:35Speaker 1: I guess, but I think for us, I need I
- 15:38Speaker 1: needed him, like I really needed his help. And yeah,
- 15:41Speaker 1: I think there were certain things where he was like,
- 15:43Speaker 1: we don't need that, and I was like, no, no,
- 15:45Speaker 1: like we need that, so I kind of pushed certain things.
- 15:49Speaker 1: But anyways, other than that, he's been very involved and
- 15:52Speaker 1: I think we did a good job planning. So for
- 15:55Speaker 1: the past few weeks, we've definitely been focusing a lot
- 15:59Speaker 1: on the wedding for obvious reasons. Majority of the time
- 16:02Speaker 1: We've been sitting on our laptops answering emails and I'm
- 16:05Speaker 1: talking like paragraphs on paragraphs of emails, sending it back
- 16:09Speaker 1: and forth with our planners when it comes to like
- 16:11Speaker 1: the seating chart, paying vendors, you know, negotiating our budget.
- 16:16Speaker 1: Like obviously the budget fluctuates when you want to add
- 16:19Speaker 1: flowers or remove flowers, or you know, just certain details
- 16:23Speaker 1: that you don't think about.
- 16:24Speaker 2: Budget changes when you add extra events that you weren't playing.
- 16:26Speaker 1: Now, yeah, we weren't expecting to have any decor for
- 16:31Speaker 1: our rehearsal dinner, and then last minutely I'm like, let's
- 16:33Speaker 1: try and find an affordable way of tying you know,
- 16:37Speaker 1: very minimal decor into our rehearsal dinner for an example.
- 16:41Speaker 1: So I didn't want to just put too much effort
- 16:43Speaker 1: towards the wedding. I did want to have, you know,
- 16:46Speaker 1: some stuff happening with the welcome party and rehearsal dinner.
- 16:50Speaker 1: So yeah, I don't know, that was something that we
- 16:53Speaker 1: really had to focus on these past few days. And
- 16:55Speaker 1: I will say it has been extremely stressful. We've been
- 16:58Speaker 1: staying up to like some night's eleven pm, some nights midnight,
- 17:02Speaker 1: like just answering emails. Getting seating chart took us four hours.
- 17:07Speaker 1: Seating chart I thought would be so easy. It was
- 17:10Speaker 1: beyond the most difficult thing ever. Just trying to pair
- 17:13Speaker 1: up your friends and making sure that your.
- 17:14Speaker 2: Friends that give away what we're doing for a table
- 17:17Speaker 2: right now, Oh yeah.
- 17:17Speaker 1: I've given it away. We're doing one long imperial material table.
- 17:21Speaker 1: And yeah, it was just kind of hard because it
- 17:24Speaker 1: was one table. We really had to figure out, Okay,
- 17:27Speaker 1: we'll put our friends at the ends of each table,
- 17:29Speaker 1: and then family members. We had to be like, okay,
- 17:31Speaker 1: what friends would be okay with sitting beside family members.
- 17:36Speaker 1: It was more of a social butterfly for someone who's
- 17:38Speaker 1: a bit more quiet and like I don't know, or
- 17:40Speaker 1: who interacts well with each other. Where should be putting
- 17:44Speaker 1: the bridesmaids and the groomsmen near us? And I don't know,
- 17:46Speaker 1: it's just different like when you look at other weddings,
- 17:48Speaker 1: usually like the bridesmaids and groomsmen sit on the bride
- 17:51Speaker 1: and groom side, And I don't know. It's just all
- 17:53Speaker 1: a very difficult decision to make. But I think we
- 17:56Speaker 1: nailed it down. I think we did a really a
- 17:58Speaker 1: good job.
- 17:58Speaker 2: Then there's seating plan for or the reversal.
- 18:02Speaker 1: Dinner, the seating for the ceremony, song choices for the ceremony.
- 18:08Speaker 1: Like the list goes on, like you do not think
- 18:10Speaker 1: of these little details until you get closer and you're like,
- 18:12Speaker 1: oh shit, I need to do this. Or let's talk about
- 18:14Speaker 1: how many orders I've done on Amazon, Like I've never
- 18:16Speaker 1: spent so much money on Amazon in my life, just
- 18:18Speaker 1: from doing last minute orders of like oh we need this,
- 18:21Speaker 1: Oh we need this. Like I don't know about you,
- 18:23Speaker 1: but I feel like I've never paid so much, like
- 18:25Speaker 1: on orders alone. I'm not even talking about like the
- 18:27Speaker 1: wedding budget, just like I've never done so many transactions
- 18:31Speaker 1: when it comes to bridal outfits, honeymoon outfits, anything related
- 18:34Speaker 1: to the wedding for last minute things. It's just been yeah,
- 18:37Speaker 1: a lot of money spent. Let's just say that. But
- 18:40Speaker 1: let's talk about some of the pros and cons to
- 18:42Speaker 1: a destination wedding, because, as I said, I feel like
- 18:44Speaker 1: a lot of people ask me questions about like, hey,
- 18:46Speaker 1: was it difficult to find planners? Has been difficult to
- 18:49Speaker 1: plan a wedding in Italy? All that I think? One,
- 18:52Speaker 1: let's talk about the cons first versus the pros. I
- 18:55Speaker 1: think one con that I can think of right now
- 18:57Speaker 1: has been the time difference. Oh my god, it definitely
- 19:01Speaker 1: is hard to book meetings around people who are six
- 19:04Speaker 1: hours ahead. So all of our meetings have been honestly
- 19:08Speaker 1: pretty early in the morning. Yeah, like sometimes we've met
- 19:13Speaker 1: at like nine or ten am, but it's on the
- 19:15Speaker 1: very rare case of them doing that. And I get it, like,
- 19:19Speaker 1: they obviously have a eight to four or a nine
- 19:21Speaker 1: to five, so they don't work late hours, and I
- 19:23Speaker 1: totally get that, but it definitely makes it difficult for
- 19:28Speaker 1: Zach and I, especially because Zach's obviously at work by
- 19:30Speaker 1: ten am, and not.
- 19:31Speaker 2: Just the scheduling the meetings for early in the morning,
- 19:34Speaker 2: trying to meet deadlines and trying to get things done
- 19:37Speaker 2: with them six hours ahead of us. When they say, oh,
- 19:39Speaker 2: we need something by end of day, they're not talking
- 19:42Speaker 2: end of day here for us. They're talking end of
- 19:44Speaker 2: day for them, which is noon one o'clock Eastern. Like, yeah,
- 19:48Speaker 2: it's it's tough to try and bang this stuff out
- 19:51Speaker 2: when we're getting it right. We wake up, I'm I'm
- 19:53Speaker 2: up waterly and Caleb with Kayley's up and moving you know,
- 19:56Speaker 2: seven thirty eight am. Finally checks the emails eight thirty
- 20:00Speaker 2: and it's eight thirty nine, maybe ten o'clock before we
- 20:02Speaker 2: can talk about something, and we have to have it
- 20:04Speaker 2: done by one PM or New Eastern. It's very tough.
- 20:06Speaker 1: And like a lot of the decisions we do make together, right,
- 20:09Speaker 1: So a lot of the time is we're answering all
- 20:11Speaker 1: the emails at night when we're finished dinner and we're
- 20:15Speaker 1: like shooting the shit from you know, Okay, can we
- 20:17Speaker 1: do this instead? You know, can we cut this? Like
- 20:19Speaker 1: because I don't want to cut something intact to be like,
- 20:21Speaker 1: oh well I really wanted that, or you know, if
- 20:23Speaker 1: he wanted me to cut something, or whatever the case
- 20:26Speaker 1: may be, to remove from the budget for an example,
- 20:28Speaker 1: Like I don't know, it's just been difficult, I think
- 20:31Speaker 1: in that sense, but we've been able to manage it. It's
- 20:33Speaker 1: not the end of the world. I think. Again, that's
- 20:35Speaker 1: something that's easily manageable that we've been able to manage.
- 20:38Speaker 1: And I wouldn't say that it's been like I still
- 20:40Speaker 1: don't like I don't regret doing a destination wedding. I
- 20:43Speaker 1: still think it was the right decision to do for
- 20:45Speaker 1: our case scenario, I like, am so so happy we
- 20:49Speaker 1: decided to get married in Italy and I couldn't imagine
- 20:52Speaker 1: getting married anywhere else. To be honest, like, I truly
- 20:55Speaker 1: think that even though that was one con, I wouldn't
- 20:58Speaker 1: say it was a con enough to like, you know,
- 21:01Speaker 1: I not do it exactly, Like, I don't have any
- 21:03Speaker 1: regrets doing a destination wedding at all so far. I mean,
- 21:05Speaker 1: we haven't had the wedding yet, so I can't say that,
- 21:07Speaker 1: but in terms of right now, like, I still am
- 21:10Speaker 1: happy that we made the decision doing a destination wedding
- 21:12Speaker 1: versus getting married in Ottawa.
- 21:14Speaker 2: Another con that doesn't necessarily affect us, but it affects
- 21:17Speaker 2: everyone else is the cost of getting to our wedding. Yeah,
- 21:21Speaker 2: the cost of coming data, the cost of accommodation, Like
- 21:24Speaker 2: is your your plane ticket to whatever major airport you're
- 21:28Speaker 2: transferred to, wherever our wedding is, wherever our destination is,
- 21:31Speaker 2: and your accommodation, and you know the city you're landing in,
- 21:34Speaker 2: the city you're staying in, how long are you going
- 21:36Speaker 2: to stay in room? People are taking time off work
- 21:38Speaker 2: to come. Everyone's taking at least ten days off work, right.
- 21:41Speaker 1: That's there's also some wedding venues that require like your
- 21:45Speaker 1: guests to stay at which has That's something that we
- 21:48Speaker 1: actually were really struggling with when we were planning our
- 21:51Speaker 1: wedding because I didn't want my guests to have to
- 21:53Speaker 1: pay a specific amount at a you know, villa in
- 21:57Speaker 1: Tuscany or whatever.
- 21:59Speaker 2: I somebody's can get quite expensive.
- 22:01Speaker 1: Oh extremely do you think just because.
- 22:02Speaker 2: Of a commodation on site for the wedding. Okay, well,
- 22:05Speaker 2: your wedding costs no xyz amount, but then the accommodation
- 22:09Speaker 2: for per person, not just per room but per person
- 22:13Speaker 2: is you know, CD amount, and it costs even more
- 22:17Speaker 2: than you were expecting.
- 22:18Speaker 1: Yeah, so, and then of course you want to pay
- 22:20Speaker 1: for your guests. But once you add that in, then
- 22:23Speaker 1: the most go was all towards your wedding budget basically,
- 22:26Speaker 1: and then you have no money to put towards florals
- 22:28Speaker 1: or the dinner or whatever. So we were trying to
- 22:31Speaker 1: really find places that were small towns that we airbnbs
- 22:34Speaker 1: were close by. Everything was just close in proximity and
- 22:37Speaker 1: all that. So I think that's obviously a huge factor
- 22:40Speaker 1: is costs for our guests. But I'm like, again, really
- 22:44Speaker 1: shocked that we had fifty five people interested in coming.
- 22:47Speaker 2: It's crazy, it's a crazy number.
- 22:48Speaker 1: We were not expecting that, to be honest, we were
- 22:50Speaker 1: expecting maybe thirty five to forty. Based on our research
- 22:53Speaker 1: it said fifty percent of your guests will come to
- 22:57Speaker 1: your wedding, especially a destination wedding.
- 22:59Speaker 2: I think we ended up closer to eighty percent.
- 23:01Speaker 1: Eighty percent. We invited seventy five people, and fifty five
- 23:05Speaker 1: people are coming to our wedding.
- 23:06Speaker 2: It's oh, and I'm curious.
- 23:09Speaker 1: I think it was eighty two sty No, we don't
- 23:11Speaker 1: need to do that. No, I'm talking about seventy five
- 23:13Speaker 1: people and fifty It was like eighty two to seventy.
- 23:17Speaker 2: We invide seventy five people. I thought we invited sixty five.
- 23:20Speaker 1: No, no, no, no, we invited more than sixty five.
- 23:22Speaker 1: So I think that's another big con is just obviously
- 23:24Speaker 1: asking guests to pay a lot of money. But I
- 23:26Speaker 1: think let's talk about a pro in this. You're getting
- 23:29Speaker 1: a built in vacation. I think that was one thing
- 23:31Speaker 1: that really sold it for a lot of our guests,
- 23:34Speaker 1: whether it's you know, going to different parts of Italy
- 23:37Speaker 1: or if it's staying longer in the area that we're
- 23:38Speaker 1: getting married in, like make a trip out of it.
- 23:41Speaker 1: I think there's a lot of people that have never
- 23:42Speaker 1: been to Italy or Europe that are coming and they're
- 23:45Speaker 1: so so excited. So it was almost like our wedding
- 23:48Speaker 1: was the perfect excuse for people to come to Europe
- 23:52Speaker 1: and just enjoy Italy. But I think this just made
- 23:54Speaker 1: it ten times more exciting because we've never traveled to
- 23:57Speaker 1: Europe with our friends. We're with a big group of
- 23:59Speaker 1: our friends. I think there's six see of our friends
- 24:00Speaker 1: actually coming, so it just feels like a big group
- 24:04Speaker 1: trip and being able to have our wedding at the
- 24:07Speaker 1: same time just makes it even more exciting and more
- 24:09Speaker 1: looking forward to doing that together. And a lot of
- 24:12Speaker 1: my friends are in their thirties, so I think this
- 24:15Speaker 1: is going to be a lot of people's last big
- 24:18Speaker 1: trip before people start to get pretty serious in you know,
- 24:21Speaker 1: starting a family or getting a house or anything like that.
- 24:24Speaker 1: So I don't know. I just think it was the
- 24:26Speaker 1: perfect timing to do this, and I don't think there's
- 24:28Speaker 1: ever gonna be another time where we can say we
- 24:30Speaker 1: all went to Europe together as a big group. So
- 24:33Speaker 1: I think it's just going to be a fun experience
- 24:35Speaker 1: to do together. I think another huge pro to doing
- 24:38Speaker 1: a destination wedding is just the views and the photos.
- 24:41Speaker 1: Like I think, no matter what angle the photo is taken,
- 24:45Speaker 1: I think, no matter what, it's going to be insanely beautiful.
- 24:48Speaker 1: And I think that's what really sold us on doing
- 24:50Speaker 1: a destination wedding, is that we knew that being in
- 24:53Speaker 1: one of the most beautiful places in the world, Like,
- 24:55Speaker 1: the photos are going to be so beautiful to look at,
- 24:58Speaker 1: and no matter, honestly, no matter what venue you went for,
- 25:01Speaker 1: there was something beautiful about it, and I think in
- 25:04Speaker 1: the beginning it was hard to make a decision when
- 25:06Speaker 1: there were so many nice venues. However, the rules and
- 25:09Speaker 1: all that that we talked about earlier was kind of
- 25:11Speaker 1: what made us narrow our decision down to the right
- 25:13Speaker 1: one that fit us. So I think the pros are
- 25:16Speaker 1: definitely going to be the photos and video and just
- 25:18Speaker 1: the overall aesthetic of the wedding is going to be
- 25:20Speaker 1: beautiful because of the location that we picked and just
- 25:24Speaker 1: having like an epic backdrop I think.
- 25:26Speaker 2: Is I don't know, not only are just great photos
- 25:28Speaker 2: for us and great videos for us and everything you do.
- 25:31Speaker 2: But it's a great photo. The memories for our friends
- 25:34Speaker 2: who are going people are always going to look at
- 25:36Speaker 2: this like that was one of the most all that
- 25:38Speaker 2: wedding we went. Can you remember this wedding that we
- 25:40Speaker 2: went to was Italy? We went here, like, people are
- 25:43Speaker 2: going to talk with this for for a long time.
- 25:44Speaker 1: I think, Yeah, yeah, I agree.
- 25:46Speaker 2: Another big pro is how intimate the wedding is. Right,
- 25:49Speaker 2: it's a smaller wedding where fifty five people or fifty
- 25:51Speaker 2: four people.
- 25:52Speaker 1: Or whatever it is. Yeah, everyone kind of knows each other, Like, yeah,
- 25:56Speaker 1: the majority of people actually do.
- 25:57Speaker 2: Really. Yeah. A lot of the people have met each
- 25:59Speaker 2: other in passing or one of our an event. Kelley
- 26:02Speaker 2: and I've had something like that. So a lot of
- 26:04Speaker 2: people have they know each other a little bit. They hey,
- 26:07Speaker 2: how's it going, They have small talk. Yeah, there's nobody
- 26:10Speaker 2: coming to the wedding that are going to be coming
- 26:12Speaker 2: up to Kailey and I saying oh, it's so glad
- 26:14Speaker 2: to meet you. Oh what are you doing for work now?
- 26:17Speaker 2: Oh I haven't seen you since you were ten years old. Oh.
- 26:19Speaker 1: I freaking hate that when I go to weddings and
- 26:21Speaker 1: I'm like, oh my god, I haven't seen you since
- 26:23Speaker 1: you were four, and I'm looking at them, I'm like,
- 26:24Speaker 1: I have no idea who you are, but so great
- 26:27Speaker 1: Seeing you like that is not what we wanted. We
- 26:30Speaker 1: fully wanted a small, intimate wedding. If we both easily
- 26:34Speaker 1: could have had a wedding with over two hundred and
- 26:36Speaker 1: fifty people easily. Family's not huge.
- 26:39Speaker 2: It's not that we're not appreciative that our family wants
- 26:41Speaker 2: to celebrate with us. It's that we didn't want to
- 26:43Speaker 2: be taken away from the day.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Yes, it's exactly.
- 26:46Speaker 2: Yes, we are putting on an event for all of
- 26:48Speaker 2: our guests and all these people are here to celebrate us,
- 26:50Speaker 2: but we also want to be a part of it.
- 26:51Speaker 2: We want to be there. We want to be involved
- 26:54Speaker 2: and participating and everything that's going on, whether it's you know,
- 26:56Speaker 2: dancing to the DJ or you know during the appartiefer,
- 27:02Speaker 2: being able to mingle with everyone a little bit in
- 27:05Speaker 2: a bigger group. We were not taking away to have
- 27:07Speaker 2: small side conversations.
- 27:08Speaker 1: I just think, yeah, it just made more sense to
- 27:10Speaker 1: do more intimate. And I think that's one thing that
- 27:13Speaker 1: a lot of people also talk about as well. That
- 27:15Speaker 1: is just something that they don't regret is doing a
- 27:17Speaker 1: smaller wedding, and we did a big engagement party. We
- 27:19Speaker 1: had almost one hundred people there and it was so
- 27:23Speaker 1: fun and we had a great time. However, it was
- 27:25Speaker 1: quite big, Like we were like, oh, we could have
- 27:26Speaker 1: done a bit smaller, you know what I mean, Like, yeah,
- 27:28Speaker 1: could and.
- 27:28Speaker 2: Then that's definitely we were taken away. We were talking
- 27:30Speaker 2: to you know, we're going to go talk to this
- 27:31Speaker 2: family or we're gonna talk to these people.
- 27:34Speaker 1: We had a hard time connecting, Like we were like,
- 27:35Speaker 1: I haven't seen you all night. You're like, I know,
- 27:37Speaker 1: I know, I'm trying to connect with our guests, but
- 27:38Speaker 1: I also want to spend time with you. So I'm
- 27:40Speaker 1: hoping for the wedding, like we're going to be with
- 27:42Speaker 1: all of our guests for three to four days straight.
- 27:45Speaker 1: So I think we'll be able to connect more on
- 27:47Speaker 1: the wedding, you and I because we've talked with everybody
- 27:49Speaker 1: throughout other events, right, So I really want the wedding
- 27:52Speaker 1: to be about him and I and for us to
- 27:53Speaker 1: really enjoy just being in this new era together of
- 27:56Speaker 1: husband and wife. And yeah, I think the last call
- 28:00Speaker 1: I would say would just be the language barrier. I
- 28:02Speaker 1: mean it hasn't been a huge issue for us. I
- 28:04Speaker 1: think there's only been two circumstances with our florists and
- 28:10Speaker 1: another vendor. I can't think of the vendor, but there's
- 28:13Speaker 1: been a little bit of difficulty with the language barrier,
- 28:16Speaker 1: just to make sure they understand what we're trying to
- 28:17Speaker 1: say and what we're trying to execute for the vision
- 28:20Speaker 1: of the wedding day. But other than that, our planners
- 28:22Speaker 1: speak great English. They're able to translate, which is great.
- 28:26Speaker 1: But I think that's like, really it's very small con.
- 28:29Speaker 1: I wouldn't say it's a big con, but like, if
- 28:31Speaker 1: you're thinking of that, like that's really the only thing.
- 28:33Speaker 1: But other than that, I don't think it's a deal breaker.
- 28:36Speaker 1: I think that has been managed well, yeah, it's been manageable.
- 28:40Speaker 2: That's it's a con. It's definitely something you got to
- 28:42Speaker 2: you gotta consider consider. I don't want to say fight
- 28:46Speaker 2: with because we're I'm fighting with it, but it's there's
- 28:48Speaker 2: definitely a little bit of back and forth between you know, us,
- 28:51Speaker 2: the planners, the planners to whoever the vendor is going
- 28:53Speaker 2: back and forth and trying to get the messages relayed properly,
- 28:56Speaker 2: and even now we're a week out from the wedding
- 28:58Speaker 2: and there's still a little bit miscake for some of
- 29:02Speaker 2: the vendors are just slow. So it's not honestly the
- 29:04Speaker 2: language barriers, just you know, these vendors get busy, especially
- 29:07Speaker 2: at the time of the year, and the vendors get
- 29:09Speaker 2: busy and they can't answer emails, and our planners are
- 29:11Speaker 2: reaching out, but the vendors messaging us on Instagram or something,
- 29:15Speaker 2: and now there's just this big triangle of miscommunication going
- 29:18Speaker 2: on that no one really has an answer.
- 29:20Speaker 1: I think that's very relatable, though. I don't think that's
- 29:22Speaker 1: just us. I think there's a lot of brides out
- 29:24Speaker 1: there that are doing you know, last minute things a
- 29:26Speaker 1: few days before the wedding.
- 29:27Speaker 2: Cake.
- 29:27Speaker 1: I think that's just a conon wedding planning is just
- 29:30Speaker 1: the overall wedding stress because you think you're gonna feel
- 29:34Speaker 1: so prepared, like, Okay, we got everything nailed down and
- 29:36Speaker 1: all that, but there will be hiccups no matter what,
- 29:39Speaker 1: and that's just kind of the reality. And you know,
- 29:42Speaker 1: I think we're doing a good job, just kind of
- 29:44Speaker 1: like going into the wedding knowing that and yeah, I
- 29:47Speaker 1: feel like we've done a really good job managing the
- 29:49Speaker 1: hiccups so far that we've gone through these past few weeks.
- 29:52Speaker 1: And yeah, I'm just all I hope for is an
- 29:55Speaker 1: amazing day with Zach and to just really enjoy every
- 29:59Speaker 1: moment because the day goes by so fast, and I
- 30:02Speaker 1: just really want to have the best day and remember
- 30:05Speaker 1: this day for the rest of our lives and just yeah,
- 30:08Speaker 1: truly have the best wedding day. All right, this is
- 30:10Speaker 1: the last thing we'll talk about, but let's talk about
- 30:13Speaker 1: things we expect after marriage, Like what do we think,
- 30:17Speaker 1: Like do we think anything's going to change? Like to
- 30:19Speaker 1: put in perspective, like, we've been together for almost twelve years,
- 30:22Speaker 1: so I feel like we've we've lived together together for
- 30:25Speaker 1: four and a half now, we've lived together for a
- 30:27Speaker 1: long time in our house.
- 30:29Speaker 2: For we've been in our house two years.
- 30:30Speaker 1: Two and a half years, yeah, or two years in
- 30:32Speaker 1: a bit, sorry not yeah, two years.
- 30:35Speaker 2: Oh wow, we've lived for two years.
- 30:37Speaker 1: That's actually it's literally been exactly two years. What am
- 30:39Speaker 1: I saying? Zach and I have lived together for four years.
- 30:41Speaker 1: Zach moved in into my parents' home in twenty twenty
- 30:44Speaker 1: during COVID, and that was kind of like the perfect
- 30:47Speaker 1: test to our relationship to see if we could live together,
- 30:49Speaker 1: and that's when we decided to buy a house and
- 30:52Speaker 1: all that. So now I feel like we've definitely been
- 30:55Speaker 1: I feel like we I don't want to say I
- 30:57Speaker 1: feel like we're already married, but like because we've been
- 30:59Speaker 1: together for so long, I just feel like we both have,
- 31:02Speaker 1: you know, a big amount of trust for each other.
- 31:04Speaker 1: We do have a very good, secure relationship, and I
- 31:09Speaker 1: think going into marriage, I think one thing that I'm
- 31:12Speaker 1: excited about is to feel that sense of security of
- 31:15Speaker 1: just like calling him my husband and him calling me
- 31:18Speaker 1: his wife. That be so weird. I feel like on
- 31:20Speaker 1: our honeymoon we're gonna be I think we need to
- 31:22Speaker 1: do a TikTok to him, just be like overly calling
- 31:24Speaker 1: everything like my husband my wife.
- 31:29Speaker 2: It took forever to say, it's gonna take forever.
- 31:35Speaker 1: No, I don't know. I feel like I feel like.
- 31:37Speaker 2: Wife might be easier to die.
- 31:39Speaker 1: I feel like fiance is long I prefer husband.
- 31:46Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 31:47Speaker 1: I don't like it either. I'm actually very much excited.
- 31:49Speaker 1: I'm very much excited to call you who my husband is. Well,
- 31:57Speaker 1: I wasn't going to call him my boyfriend when I'm
- 32:00Speaker 1: six or twenty five years old and like my by friend,
- 32:03Speaker 1: like it sounds so high school, like my partner, what
- 32:06Speaker 1: else what I've called you? I feel like partner is
- 32:08Speaker 1: the most professional term to use when you're still considered
- 32:12Speaker 1: a boyfriend and girlfriend, but like not you know what
- 32:14Speaker 1: I mean, I don't know. I feel like you guys
- 32:16Speaker 1: get that. But I think it'll be really fun for
- 32:19Speaker 1: the first I think the first year honestly just be
- 32:21Speaker 1: like my husband my wife, like I don't know. I
- 32:23Speaker 1: think will be so giddy, and I'm very excited for
- 32:26Speaker 1: our honeymoon. I do think our mindset is also going
- 32:28Speaker 1: to change after the wedding. I think we're really going
- 32:31Speaker 1: to be talking about future goals. Like we've talked about
- 32:34Speaker 1: future goals obviously, but I think once we're married, I
- 32:37Speaker 1: think we're gonna be talking about like, Okay, what's next,
- 32:40Speaker 1: Like what's our next big move? Is it, you know,
- 32:43Speaker 1: selling this house and buying a new one?
- 32:45Speaker 2: Is it?
- 32:45Speaker 1: Start thinking about having kids, like what is the plan?
- 32:49Speaker 1: And I think also when it comes to marriage, I
- 32:52Speaker 1: think a lot of it is going to be more
- 32:53Speaker 1: towards leaning together as a team, like we do that now.
- 32:56Speaker 1: We're a very team, you know, yeah oriented, we both
- 33:00Speaker 1: really lean on each other, support each other. But I
- 33:03Speaker 1: feel like once we're married, like everything is gonna be
- 33:06Speaker 1: we like we we we for everything moving forward. It's
- 33:10Speaker 1: you and I, you know what I mean? Like, I
- 33:12Speaker 1: mean I still think we kind of do.
- 33:14Speaker 2: We're there now, but I think it's more official. Yeah,
- 33:17Speaker 2: this can be more long term planning for Okay, how
- 33:20Speaker 2: do we how do we now execute this? Okay? Like
- 33:23Speaker 2: what like do we want family first? Then a house?
- 33:28Speaker 2: Do we want a house to have a family grow into.
- 33:31Speaker 1: Well, then there's also things to talk about, like when
- 33:33Speaker 1: it comes to like finances, like okay, are we combining
- 33:36Speaker 1: our finances like that? There's that's a conversation I've seen
- 33:38Speaker 1: all over TikTok before too. It's like, okay, do you
- 33:40Speaker 1: keep separate bank accounts? Do you keep it together? Like
- 33:42Speaker 1: that's not something we but to personally share it. But
- 33:43Speaker 1: I'm just saying that, like that's a conversation that I
- 33:45Speaker 1: think people don't really think about to talk about when
- 33:49Speaker 1: it comes.
- 33:49Speaker 2: To Well, there's other things as well.
- 33:51Speaker 1: Like just like bigger responsibility.
- 33:54Speaker 2: Even even like for your work, what are you going
- 33:56Speaker 2: to do for your content. Are you gonna, We're gonna
- 33:58Speaker 2: do more couple of content? You back to more individualists
- 34:01Speaker 2: to content? What would I do family content? Yeah? What
- 34:03Speaker 2: are you gonna after the wedding? Like that's a big
- 34:05Speaker 2: step for you into the next project. Like, I'm pretty
- 34:08Speaker 2: invested into my job as well. Am I gonna have
- 34:10Speaker 2: to take a step back? Or am I gonna Or
- 34:13Speaker 2: before we get a family and you know, have kids,
- 34:19Speaker 2: do I go full bore into it to try and
- 34:21Speaker 2: try and get as far as I can before I
- 34:24Speaker 2: can't work dex show.
- 34:25Speaker 1: Or having five percent. I think that's important, especially when
- 34:28Speaker 1: it comes to each other's jobs. Like with my job,
- 34:30Speaker 1: obviously it's a lot of work, but it's very flexible
- 34:34Speaker 1: at the same time, because you know, if we decided
- 34:36Speaker 1: to start a family right after the wedding, let's say,
- 34:38Speaker 1: like I can be home, I can be able to
- 34:40Speaker 1: you know, film my content around being pregnant, around having
- 34:43Speaker 1: a kid, all that, which is very exciting. But also
- 34:45Speaker 1: at the same time, I think about Zach and you know,
- 34:48Speaker 1: rushing into pregnancy or all that. It's like, does he
- 34:51Speaker 1: want to do that with his career? Does he want
- 34:52Speaker 1: to jump into that because obviously, like not going to
- 34:56Speaker 1: stop him from his career for obvious reasons, but like
- 34:59Speaker 1: we need to be able to balance you know, family
- 35:02Speaker 1: life as well, right, Like I want to be able
- 35:03Speaker 1: to have him at home at a decent time to
- 35:07Speaker 1: have dinner together. And you know what I mean, it's
- 35:09Speaker 1: those little things that you have to take into a
- 35:12Speaker 1: huge factor in sheer relationship. Is that it's going to
- 35:14Speaker 1: impact you if you're coming home at eight pm every
- 35:16Speaker 1: night and we have a kid and I'm putting him
- 35:18Speaker 1: to bed, giving a bath every night and all that,
- 35:19Speaker 1: and you're missing those moments, you know what I mean.
- 35:21Speaker 1: So it's like that is a serious conversation I think
- 35:25Speaker 1: that happens when you're married, is talking about those changes
- 35:29Speaker 1: and those things that are about to happen. Like, I
- 35:32Speaker 1: don't know, that's so crazy you even to talk about
- 35:34Speaker 1: that crazy. I think it's I don't know if that's
- 35:37Speaker 1: just us because we've been together for so long and
- 35:39Speaker 1: it feels like time has not even passed, Like I
- 35:42Speaker 1: think about like, yes, high school seems so long ago,
- 35:45Speaker 1: but the same time, it doesn't because we've been together
- 35:47Speaker 1: for so long, you know what I mean. I know,
- 35:50Speaker 1: but that's what I don't know if other people feel
- 35:53Speaker 1: that way where it's like, oh, my relationship feels so
- 35:55Speaker 1: long that like, I don't know, I feel like I
- 35:58Speaker 1: don't know if we'll ever be ready to say yeah,
- 36:00Speaker 1: I'm ready to get pregnant.
- 36:01Speaker 2: Sometimes Sometimes sometimes when I'm at work, I still think
- 36:05Speaker 2: like I'm a first year apprentice and you're still in college. Yeah.
- 36:09Speaker 2: I feel like I feel like I've got imposter syndrome
- 36:11Speaker 2: sometimes and I'm like, yeah, I shouldn't be, but I
- 36:14Speaker 2: think I shouldn't be, Like are you really like this
- 36:17Speaker 2: successful content creator? Am I really like? Am I really?
- 36:21Speaker 2: Am I really a foreman on one of the largest
- 36:24Speaker 2: jobs in the city, Like what's going on here?
- 36:26Speaker 1: I know it feels like I doesn't feel like we're adults,
- 36:29Speaker 1: that's for sure, And I feel like that's very normal
- 36:31Speaker 1: in your twenties. I think it's just such a there's
- 36:33Speaker 1: so much that happens in your life from the age
- 36:36Speaker 1: of twenty one to the age of twenty eight, Like,
- 36:39Speaker 1: so much has changed in seven years. Think about that, Yeah,
- 36:43Speaker 1: so much has changed.
- 36:44Speaker 2: Living home zero response seven years.
- 36:46Speaker 1: It's really not that long, Like it's really not like
- 36:50Speaker 1: changing so much. It just I don't know, it blows
- 36:52Speaker 1: my mind But I do think going into marriage, they'll
- 36:55Speaker 1: definitely be a mindset shift, but I think in a
- 36:57Speaker 1: good and positive way. Like I think it's going to
- 36:59Speaker 1: be good to talk about the next steps and how
- 37:03Speaker 1: we're going to you know, approach it, how we're going
- 37:07Speaker 1: to navigate these changes and all that. But I think
- 37:10Speaker 1: all the changes will be good. And it's just something
- 37:13Speaker 1: that there's just so much.
- 37:14Speaker 2: I'm thinking about now that it's like where do you
- 37:16Speaker 2: want the next house to be? Do we want the
- 37:17Speaker 2: next house to be, you know, kind of a little
- 37:19Speaker 2: bit outside the suburbs. We want to write in the suburbs.
- 37:21Speaker 2: We want to like a main road, kind of off
- 37:23Speaker 2: a main road. Do we want to like do you
- 37:25Speaker 2: want to close to the schools?
- 37:26Speaker 1: Like, oh my god, you have to talk about like, okay,
- 37:29Speaker 1: schools for the kids, sports teams for the kids. Like
- 37:32Speaker 1: now it's all about like thinking about Okay, like we
- 37:34Speaker 1: obviously clearly want to start a family because we're talking
- 37:36Speaker 1: about kids so much here, but like you have to
- 37:39Speaker 1: think about those little don't want.
- 37:40Speaker 2: To be driving, you know, when they're four or five
- 37:41Speaker 2: years old. You don't want to be driving thirty minutes
- 37:43Speaker 2: into the town in town.
- 37:45Speaker 1: But that, which is fine, but for us, our preference
- 37:49Speaker 1: would be to be able to live.
- 37:50Speaker 2: Do you want to you want to be able to
- 37:52Speaker 2: drive thirty minutes in the town? Take them the hockey
- 37:53Speaker 2: practice or baseball practice or soccer practice. I'll throw soccer
- 37:57Speaker 2: in there for you.
- 37:58Speaker 1: I think at the end of the day, we will
- 38:02Speaker 1: make the right decisions in our marriage and just yeah,
- 38:07Speaker 1: learn to accept change and change together.
- 38:10Speaker 2: And I think the biggest thing is to continue to
- 38:14Speaker 2: have an open line of communication.
- 38:16Speaker 1: Which very very good at and we just need to
- 38:19Speaker 1: keep at that. And I think that just builds a
- 38:22Speaker 1: lot of trust in the relationship and just truly acting
- 38:26Speaker 1: like you're also best friends. I feel like that really
- 38:28Speaker 1: helps us out. Like obviously we're like more than friends,
- 38:31Speaker 1: but I feel like because we're so like close and
- 38:34Speaker 1: because we communicate so much with each other, it like
- 38:36Speaker 1: really creates that bond of like trust and relying on
- 38:40Speaker 1: each other for everything and being a team. Right again
- 38:43Speaker 1: with the team aspect, like we're best friends, Like that's
- 38:46Speaker 1: how it's just as well we're best friends. I think
- 38:48Speaker 1: the best friends. You're my best friend? Am I your
- 38:50Speaker 1: best friend?
- 38:50Speaker 2: Yes?
- 38:51Speaker 1: I think that's all for this episode. I think We're
- 38:53Speaker 1: gonna save the rest for the next episode, which will
- 38:57Speaker 1: be spilling the tea on the wedding in This episode
- 39:00Speaker 1: will be uploaded on the wedding week. So this episode
