- 0:04Sean McAllister: A new show debuts at Harras this summer, and a fun activity you can do down in Boulder City before it gets too hot.
- 0:12Dayna Roselli: Plus, we talked to an expert about Las Vegas' summer outlook, why it might be a good time for you to visit, and are there any signs of slowing down?
- 0:20Dayna Roselli: Plus, John has some advice for parents that want to bring their kids to the Las Vegas drift.
- 0:25Sean McAllister: Mm-hmm.
- 0:26Sean McAllister: And we hit a new day club pool spot and tell you what makes it different from the others.
- 0:32Sean McAllister: It's all this week on Vegas Reveal.
- 0:38SPEAKER_00: Vegas Reveal presented by Level Up Law starts now.
- 0:42Dayna Roselli: Welcome everyone to episode 220 of Vegas Revealed.
- 0:46Dayna Roselli: It's Dana Roselli and Sean McAllister here.
- 0:49Dayna Roselli: We have a lot to get to today, but first, yay, we want to celebrate our first listener text message.
- 0:59Sean McAllister: I love this.
- 1:00Sean McAllister: So last episode, we told you we were debuting a new feature.
- 1:03Sean McAllister: If you go down into our show notes, you'll see a link there that uh says that you can text us direct feedback.
- 1:12Sean McAllister: And we said we were waiting to see who was going to be the first person to text us at our new Vegas Revealed text line.
- 1:20Sean McAllister: And our first text came from Charlotte, North Carolina.
- 1:25Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and they wondered if they would be the first.
- 1:27Dayna Roselli: It says, Hi, Dana and Sean.
- 1:29Dayna Roselli: Shout out from Charlotte, North Carolina, hoping to be one of the first to text you through the podcast app.
- 1:35Dayna Roselli: Congratulations on all your success now.
- 1:37Dayna Roselli: And in the future, great show.
- 1:39Dayna Roselli: Miss the old intro music, but content is solid every week.
- 1:43Dayna Roselli: So thank you very much.
- 1:46Dayna Roselli: We appreciate all of that.
- 1:47Sean McAllister: Yeah, and we've received uh several text messages coming in from uh from you guys who are listening, which we so appreciate.
- 1:55Sean McAllister: But here's the thing, which I didn't realize going into this new era of uh text feedback is that we can't reply to you.
- 2:04Sean McAllister: So if you want us to know who you are, you can at least leave your first name if you text us some feedback.
- 2:11Sean McAllister: If you want us to respond to you, it's a good idea to leave your email or something, or you could just email us and we can email you back.
- 2:19Sean McAllister: No, just keep texting us.
- 2:20Dayna Roselli: I love the text, they're fun.
- 2:22Dayna Roselli: Send us a text and put your email in there.
- 2:23Dayna Roselli: I want to email back.
- 2:24Dayna Roselli: But yeah, we obviously it's because of privacy, so they can't reveal the phone numbers, right?
- 2:29Dayna Roselli: Which totally makes sense.
- 2:31Dayna Roselli: Um, but whoever you are in North Carolina, we love that you listen.
- 2:34Dayna Roselli: And I wanted to address, if you didn't hear in a past podcast of um the reason we changed the intro music, because this person says, Great show, miss the old intro music, but they copyrighted it, so we aren't allowed to use it anymore, or else we would be using it.
- 2:50Dayna Roselli: It wasn't like some creative decision.
- 2:52Sean McAllister: No, it wasn't.
- 2:53Sean McAllister: We we miss that theme song too.
- 2:55Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 2:56Sean McAllister: But the good news is that you can go back to past episodes and still hear it.
- 3:00Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I know you can.
- 3:02Sean McAllister: Looking on the bright side.
- 3:03Dayna Roselli: Definitely.
- 3:04Dayna Roselli: Hey, we got another text message in.
- 3:06Dayna Roselli: Um, this one says, I doubted him your first, which you are not.
- 3:09Dayna Roselli: But uh, and this one comes from Las Vegas, by the way.
- 3:11Dayna Roselli: Uh, glad you have this, and I will be texting more.
- 3:14Dayna Roselli: Love the show, keep up all the great content.
- 3:16Dayna Roselli: So thank you so much.
- 3:18Dayna Roselli: We love this.
- 3:18Dayna Roselli: Again, a link right in our show notes.
- 3:20Dayna Roselli: If you want to hit, send us some feedback, say hello, whatever, an idea for us, text us.
- 3:26Sean McAllister: And as always, we do want to say a big thank you to uh those of you who subscribe to the Vegas Revealed podcast and um contribute monthly to keep the show going and operating.
- 3:41Sean McAllister: It does, it actually does make a big difference.
- 3:43Sean McAllister: So we appreciate each and every one of you.
- 3:46Sean McAllister: We know who you are, you know who you are, and we love you guys.
- 3:50Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 3:51Dayna Roselli: I mean, you know, there are features available that we're allowed to take on because of that donation that they give us every month.
- 4:00Dayna Roselli: And so it enables us to be able to do more.
- 4:02Dayna Roselli: So we thank you for that.
- 4:03Dayna Roselli: Our podcast hosting site has a lot of features, but sometimes you have to enable them and it costs money every month.
- 4:08Dayna Roselli: So we appreciate you having the giving us the time, I should say, and allowing us the time to do some extra things.
- 4:15Sean McAllister: All right, Dana.
- 4:16Sean McAllister: Um, you know, I had a big gripe the other day.
- 4:19Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 4:20Sean McAllister: And uh I was kind of going into the whole thing, and you were like, you know what?
- 4:24Sean McAllister: This is something that that you need to just talk about on the podcast because you are heated.
- 4:31Dayna Roselli: You are heated.
- 4:32Dayna Roselli: I'm gonna preface your story though by saying that when you go into the story, because I know you're gonna get into a flow and all that.
- 4:38Dayna Roselli: Um, I I don't think Sean is against kids coming to Las Vegas or even being on the strip.
- 4:45Dayna Roselli: You're upset about late nights when kids shouldn't be out on the strip.
- 4:51Dayna Roselli: Am I right?
- 4:52Sean McAllister: Uh yes.
- 4:53Dayna Roselli: Because I do think there's a place for families in Las Vegas.
- 4:56Dayna Roselli: We do have a lot of things to do.
- 4:57Sean McAllister: There absolutely is.
- 4:59Sean McAllister: My issue is the having kids out late at night and also the behavior of parents when they have kids with them late at night.
- 5:11Dayna Roselli: So what happened?
- 5:12Sean McAllister: So here we go.
- 5:13Sean McAllister: Uh it was my husband's birthday.
- 5:15Sean McAllister: We were going over to Bellagio.
- 5:17Sean McAllister: Um, we were going to hang out at the piano bar right there off the lobby.
- 5:22Sean McAllister: It's a great spot.
- 5:23Sean McAllister: We love it there.
- 5:24Sean McAllister: As we were pulling in off of the strip, it was, you know, we had the green light to go.
- 5:32Sean McAllister: The pedestrians had a big, you know, the red hand.
- 5:35Sean McAllister: They weren't supposed to be going.
- 5:37Sean McAllister: As we were turning that corner to go into South Park, there was this it was two guys, one pushing a stroller, the other carrying a very small child in his arms.
- 5:50Sean McAllister: They both ran out in front of us to cross the street as we were pulling into the front drive there at Bellagio.
- 5:57Sean McAllister: And that just that was issue number one.
- 6:00Sean McAllister: And I was like, first of all, that was completely irresponsible to do.
- 6:06Sean McAllister: And second of all, it's late.
- 6:09Sean McAllister: That baby needs to go to bed.
- 6:10Sean McAllister: You're throwing its schedule off.
- 6:12Dayna Roselli: Yeah, what time was it?
- 6:14Sean McAllister: I mean, this was after 10 o'clock.
- 6:18Dayna Roselli: Okay.
- 6:18Sean McAllister: So it was dark.
- 6:19Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 6:19Sean McAllister: You know, it's dark.
- 6:20Sean McAllister: This is a time when Vegas switches over to be very adult.
- 6:25Sean McAllister: So then we go inside of Bellagio, and as you can imagine, there were lots of families there going through the conservatory, lots of kids out again, which I get going to the conservatory is one of the family-friendly things that you can do here.
- 6:42Sean McAllister: So, like, I understand that.
- 6:44Sean McAllister: But then as we were sitting down, there was this little girl who was doing cartwheels through the lobby at Bellagio, and the mother who was with her was just laughing and acting like it was the cutest thing in the world.
- 7:00Sean McAllister: And it was not slow.
- 7:02Sean McAllister: It's not like it was an empty lobby and like, oh, look at this, all this space I can do cartwheels.
- 7:07Dayna Roselli: That lobby's always packed.
- 7:08Sean McAllister: It is.
- 7:09Sean McAllister: And so it was just there were a few other things, and I was just I hit the the top of my irritated meter.
- 7:20Dayna Roselli: Yeah, but being up so late.
- 7:23Sean McAllister: I get having your kids in town, but at night is not the time for them.
- 7:30Sean McAllister: And if you are gonna have them here, like make sure that you are being responsible and and keeping an eye on your kids and making sure that they're not doing something.
- 7:39Sean McAllister: I don't blame the kids.
- 7:40Sean McAllister: I blame the adults.
- 7:41Dayna Roselli: Yeah, for sure, for sure.
- 7:43Dayna Roselli: Well, yeah, and it is late, and you know, rolling kids around on this on the Las Vegas strip after 10 o'clock is not just because there are so many people and cars and I don't know.
- 7:52Dayna Roselli: I mean, it's odd.
- 7:55Dayna Roselli: And and I know people always say, like, what's the point?
- 7:57Dayna Roselli: Like, why do you even want your children on the Las Vegas strip at 10 p.m.
- 8:02Dayna Roselli: on a Saturday night or a Sunday or whatever night it was?
- 8:05Dayna Roselli: I think it was like a Friday or Saturday for you.
- 8:06Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 8:07Dayna Roselli: But yeah, it was it is odd.
- 8:09Sean McAllister: And you know, uh, this is kind of a this is a tangent, but it's something else that irritates me.
- 8:13Sean McAllister: Yeah, you know, we have uh sidewalks that are largely kind of like fenced in now so that you can't just run across the Las Vegas strip at any point that you want to.
- 8:23Sean McAllister: We have pedestrian bridges now to make it safer to get from one side of the strip to the other, but we still see people trying to run across lanes of traffic outside of a crosswalk.
- 8:35Sean McAllister: Yeah, and I think it's important for people to know that Nevada law does not err on the side of pedestrians if you're darting out in front of traffic outside of a crosswalk.
- 8:47Dayna Roselli: Yeah, no, just FYI.
- 8:49Dayna Roselli: Yeah, not at all, not at all.
- 8:51Dayna Roselli: And you'll never find me doing that because I am a rule follower.
- 8:54Dayna Roselli: Like I annoy people to a T.
- 8:55Dayna Roselli: Like I will not cross outside of the crosswalk.
- 8:59Sean McAllister: I will either.
- 9:00Dayna Roselli: Even if it's like no traffic coming.
- 9:02Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 9:02Dayna Roselli: But yeah, I mean, but something like that on the strip.
- 9:04Dayna Roselli: I mean, that's why we have the bridges and you know, the crosswalks where people kind of walk in a mass of people, so you're kind of together.
- 9:11Dayna Roselli: But it is important to stick together and not even like kids and like everyone, it's important to stick together, follow the rules so that nobody gets hurt.
- 9:18Dayna Roselli: We don't want any of that to happen in our city or any city and and have fun, you know.
- 9:22Dayna Roselli: But you do need to be careful when you're out there.
- 9:25Dayna Roselli: So, all right, so we got it out there.
- 9:26Dayna Roselli: Let us know what you think about kids on the strip after like 10 p.m.
- 9:31Dayna Roselli: on a weekend.
- 9:32Dayna Roselli: Are you with Sean?
- 9:34Dayna Roselli: Or are you like, you know what?
- 9:35Dayna Roselli: It's my it's my family, it's my life, and I'll do what I want.
- 9:39Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 9:41Dayna Roselli: Hey, the Lovers and Friends Festival was supposed to come here.
- 9:44Dayna Roselli: Um, and it was a huge festival.
- 9:45Dayna Roselli: I'm talking Janet Jackson, Gwen Stefani, Usher, uh Backstreet Boys, a whole list of artists after artists.
- 9:54Dayna Roselli: Huge festival was coming and it got canceled because of predicted wind.
- 9:58Dayna Roselli: Um, we've had a lot of people reach out to us like, why did this happen?
- 10:01Dayna Roselli: This and that.
- 10:02Dayna Roselli: I mean, we don't know the answer.
- 10:03Dayna Roselli: All we know is it was supposed to be windy, didn't turn out to be that windy, but they were going by the weather service, they said.
- 10:13Dayna Roselli: Um, it is an outdoor festival.
- 10:15Dayna Roselli: The Las Vegas Festival Grounds is right at the corner of Sahara and Las Vegas Boulevard.
- 10:18Dayna Roselli: I live right across the street.
- 10:19Dayna Roselli: Tons of festivals happened there.
- 10:21Dayna Roselli: There was just one the week before.
- 10:23Dayna Roselli: Um, and then I know that we were young, we are young festivals always there.
- 10:28Dayna Roselli: I don't know which one that is, but um, and they had to cancel one year because of when one of the days, and that was frustrating for a lot of people.
- 10:33Dayna Roselli: But anyway, this cost um, or this caused, I should say, a lot of frustration for people who flew into town and there were thousands um and were looking forward to going to this one-day festival.
- 10:46Sean McAllister: Right.
- 10:46Sean McAllister: So it was a Saturday festival.
- 10:48Sean McAllister: Normally, some of these bigger festivals uh take place over the course of two days, uh, sometimes even three days.
- 10:56Sean McAllister: But um, this was this was a stacked lineup, uh, all set to take place on a Saturday.
- 11:02Sean McAllister: But as you mentioned, the weather service was forecasting some pretty strong winds, which ended up materializing after midnight.
- 11:11Sean McAllister: The strongest winds happened, you know, overnight Saturday into Sunday, and then throughout the day on Sunday as well.
- 11:18Sean McAllister: And it left a lot of the concert goers being like, What the heck?
- 11:22Sean McAllister: This ended up being a great day, and it was breezy, but not it didn't feel like it was torrential wind.
- 11:31Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 11:32Dayna Roselli: But the problem is is when you looked it up, the wind, like um apps or weather apps, that's where I was confused.
- 11:38Dayna Roselli: They kept saying predicting 60 mile per hour, and I I never saw that because I went in and started to research, and the day before I was looking, like there were 20 mile per hour winds with gusts up to 32 or 36 miles per hour.
- 11:52Dayna Roselli: Um, but I never saw the 60 that they were talking about.
- 11:55Dayna Roselli: And I don't know.
- 11:56Dayna Roselli: I'm not sitting there in front of a weather computer, I'm not a weather expert, but I think that's where it was confusing for people because if you did look on your phone on the weather app or you did go online and look at whatever the weather on another site, right?
- 12:09Dayna Roselli: It was like you weren't seeing the winds that they were saying we were supposed to get.
- 12:14Dayna Roselli: So it was confusing and people were frustrated because of that.
- 12:18Sean McAllister: Well, and I think the thing with Las Vegas, so picture the Las Vegas Valley as kind of a a big bathtub.
- 12:25Sean McAllister: Las Vegas is right down on the bottom of the bathtub.
- 12:27Sean McAllister: The edges of the bathtub are the mountains that surround us.
- 12:31Sean McAllister: And depending on where the weather is blowing into the Las Vegas Valley, if it's shooting through, you know, the opening in a couple mountains, that can funnel the wind and make for some really dangerous conditions.
- 12:48Sean McAllister: So I get that the extra caution was was being taken and they were saying this could be the case.
- 12:55Sean McAllister: You just don't necessarily know with a hundred percent certainty with weather.
- 13:01Dayna Roselli: No.
- 13:01Dayna Roselli: And actually that night I I did drive down to the southwest part of the valley, and um when I was driving, you could see the dust in the air.
- 13:08Dayna Roselli: And it and and I'll admit it wasn't very windy.
- 13:10Dayna Roselli: I live right near the festival grounds where the festival grounds work, but you can't predict where the winds are gonna, like you're saying, you get a gust with those outdoor stages, and people can be very dangerous.
- 13:21Dayna Roselli: It it it could have been a very dangerous situation.
- 13:24Dayna Roselli: So, I mean, anyway, regardless, they cancel.
- 13:26Dayna Roselli: Probably the best thing to do because of safety.
- 13:29Dayna Roselli: Um, you know, a lot has a lot of people talking like, well, what is the alternative?
- 13:32Dayna Roselli: And I don't really know what the alternative would be.
- 13:34Dayna Roselli: You can't set up all those stages in an indoor facility that quick.
- 13:38Dayna Roselli: You can't prepare, you're like, what's the backup?
- 13:40Dayna Roselli: You can't just have a backup in, you know, 24 hours.
- 13:44Dayna Roselli: I mean, is it something they could have planned like way ahead, maybe?
- 13:47Dayna Roselli: But you that's a cost to set something up that might not be used.
- 13:49Dayna Roselli: So I don't even know what the answer is.
- 13:51Dayna Roselli: I know a bunch of people had said maybe not having festivals during the windy season, and that that might be the answer.
- 13:58Dayna Roselli: You know, maybe more of a September-October festival would be better.
- 14:01Sean McAllister: Well, and I think also the bottom line is that if you're planning to attend an outdoor festival, you have to know that Mother Nature could intervene and derail your plans.
- 14:10Sean McAllister: That's always a possibility with an outdoor venue.
- 14:13Sean McAllister: And they were refunding ticket sales.
- 14:15Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 14:15Sean McAllister: It's not like people were out the the ticket price if they got the tickets from a verified source.
- 14:21Dayna Roselli: Right.
- 14:22Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 14:22Dayna Roselli: They were out plane tickets and hotel rooms and stuff like that, but you know, because they had to travel into Las Vegas.
- 14:28Dayna Roselli: I know some people were like on Twitter going, I'm on the plane and what do I do now?
- 14:32Dayna Roselli: And I mean, yeah, like you said, I mean, you can come have fun in Vegas, which is great.
- 14:36Dayna Roselli: And yeah, there's always a risk that something's gonna be canceled.
- 14:39Dayna Roselli: And but maybe, maybe it's maybe it's move it outside of this April, May, because there have been a lot of festivals that have had wind issues because of this.
- 14:48Dayna Roselli: And I went to the Lovers and Friends Festival uh not last year or the year before, and even that day it was pretty breezy, and it does make it for a little bit unit's uncomfortable.
- 14:58Dayna Roselli: So I don't know, that might be the solution, and I'm sure that they they will revisit uh an analyze and decide what they want to do for next year.
- 15:06Sean McAllister: Yeah, but some of the fans who uh were expecting to go to the festival ended up going over to Resorts World where Snoop was performing, and it was absolutely packed up there at the day club.
- 15:19Dayna Roselli: Oh, yeah.
- 15:19Dayna Roselli: I you had Snoop there, and a lot of these folks, uh artists like Snoop had things planned already around the festival.
- 15:27Dayna Roselli: So I think a lot of people probably took advantage of that, like you said.
- 15:30Dayna Roselli: Yeah, it was packed over there, and then Usher was at Jewel nightclub.
- 15:36Dayna Roselli: He was planned to be there, but he went anyway, which was great.
- 15:39Dayna Roselli: He sent out a tweet the next day saying he felt terrible that everything got canceled, he would see everyone soon, not what he had hoped for.
- 15:45Dayna Roselli: And then Janet Jackson was in town and she went over to Kylie Minogue at the Venetian, and that's great.
- 15:50Dayna Roselli: So, I mean, you know, Pete like these artists made the best of it, and uh hopefully people that were in town for the festival maybe got to run into them at some of these other shows or venues.
- 16:00Sean McAllister: Yeah, well, and that's the that's the thing that happens too.
- 16:03Sean McAllister: I know when a previous uh festival was canceled, they scrambled and got artists to perform at some other venues, doing some last-minute pop-up shows around the strip at different venues.
- 16:17Sean McAllister: Um, so it is.
- 16:18Sean McAllister: People people had run-ins with with some of the artists who were set to perform.
- 16:23Sean McAllister: And I guess that is the the silver lining of the storm cloud.
- 16:27Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I know it was a great lineup.
- 16:29Dayna Roselli: I know so many people were looking forward to that.
- 16:31Dayna Roselli: So what a shame, but hopefully they can get it together and do it again.
- 16:35Dayna Roselli: And I know that uh people like that, the variety of all the different acts in one day.
- 16:40Dayna Roselli: Um, it's not for me, I don't love that, but just because I like to be planted, but I totally get, you know, if you're a festival goer to interact with people and be out there and live music and moving around to go see your favorites, it's a thing and people love it.
- 16:53Dayna Roselli: And I mean, festivals are more popular than ever.
- 16:56Sean McAllister: Yeah, they are.
- 16:57Sean McAllister: I agree with you.
- 16:58Sean McAllister: I'm not the biggest festival person either.
- 17:02Sean McAllister: Right.
- 17:02Sean McAllister: I'll go, but but if someone said I'm not like first in line to get tickets.
- 17:07Dayna Roselli: Exactly.
- 17:07Dayna Roselli: If someone said here's a VIP pass to Coachella, I'd go.
- 17:10Dayna Roselli: Other than that, you'll never see me there.
- 17:12Dayna Roselli: Like, and you can go into the area that has couches and uh, you know, trailers and your own, you know, food area I'm in.
- 17:22Sean McAllister: Yeah, the luxury festival scene.
- 17:25Sean McAllister: I like that.
- 17:26Sean McAllister: Well, hey, still to come here uh on this episode, we are talking summer travel here in Las Vegas and what the outlook is.
- 17:34Sean McAllister: Are we still headed in the right direction or is a slump coming our way?
- 17:39Sean McAllister: We're gonna hear from an expert still to come.
- 17:41Sean McAllister: But first, we want to remind you about our presenting sponsor, Level Up Law.
- 17:46Dayna Roselli: Yeah, Vegas Revealed is presented by Level Up Law.
- 17:49Dayna Roselli: You hear that at the top of the show.
- 17:50Dayna Roselli: And listen, you don't have to live in Nevada to get help from Level Up either.
- 17:54Dayna Roselli: If you have a wrongful death case or you've been in a motor vehicle accident, maybe you've been harmed in a ride share, you can call Level Up Law now at 855 Level Up.
- 18:04Sean McAllister: Yeah, I have heard more and more people that I've personally talked to lately who have been in a ride share accident.
- 18:11Sean McAllister: So this is definitely something that Level Up can help you with.
- 18:15Sean McAllister: Maybe you've also experienced a slip and fall or were injured at a place of business or on a construction site.
- 18:22Sean McAllister: Call Level Up Law.

- 18:29Dayna Roselli: The experienced team over at Level Up Law can help you.
- 18:32Dayna Roselli: Go to leveluplaw.com for more information, or again, call them at 855 Level Up.
- 18:38Dayna Roselli: That's 855 Level Up.
- 18:42Sean McAllister: All right, Dana, let's talk uh summer travel and talking about the travel outlook for Las Vegas in terms of how many tourists are going to be headed our way.
- 18:54Sean McAllister: We know that last year in 2023, uh, the summer brought in about 10 million visitors, which is crazy.
- 19:03Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that's a lot of people.
- 19:05Dayna Roselli: So we wanted to get some more insight.
- 19:07Dayna Roselli: We went over and talked to Steve Buden.
- 19:09Dayna Roselli: He is a financial analyst, and he often tracks trends that predict what visitor volume will look like.
- 19:15Dayna Roselli: So we sat down with him for a summer outlook.
- 19:19SPEAKER_00: The airline fares are holding up, hotel room rates are holding up, uh, the occupancy rates are great.
- 19:25SPEAKER_00: If you take COVID out, we are equal to, if not greater than a normal year.
- 19:32SPEAKER_00: So we are hitting on all eight cylinders at this point.
- 19:35Dayna Roselli: Why do you think that is?
- 19:36Dayna Roselli: I think uh sometimes I feel baffled at like I thought we were gonna be tighter with our money in case of an emergency because of you know what happened during COVID or you know, people weren't working, but it doesn't seem like we've slowed down.
- 19:50SPEAKER_00: We haven't slowed down, and this may come as a shock, but Americans will always find a way to spend money.
- 19:55SPEAKER_00: Uh it does concern me where the money's coming from, but Vegas is definitely benefiting.
- 20:01SPEAKER_00: And again, in relative terms, Vegas has always been a better value than other cities.
- 20:05SPEAKER_00: So if somebody has a limited budget, they may not go to Europe for the summer, but they'll come to Vegas because it still provides great value, even at these elevated prices.
- 20:15SPEAKER_00: The big change for the summer, Allegiant Stadium, as you know, is enclosed, and you're seeing more soccer events.
- 20:21SPEAKER_00: And I wouldn't be surprised if you see more concerts coming in the summer, too, because it is off time for Vegas and you probably can get a better deal, but the summer's not as dead as it used to be.
- 20:33Sean McAllister: Do you think that international travel will help to bolster the bottom line for Las Vegas this summer?
- 20:40SPEAKER_00: Yeah, international is always a key factor.
- 20:44SPEAKER_00: Uh, soccer is like F1, a global sport, a global event.
- 20:49SPEAKER_00: So you definitely will draw more folks from overseas.
- 20:52SPEAKER_00: All of the money that comes in from outside of Nevada is a tremendous addition to our state coffers.
- 21:00SPEAKER_00: Our budget is based, for the most part, on tourism.
- 21:03SPEAKER_00: We don't have a state income tax, we don't have a corporate tax.
- 21:06SPEAKER_00: The reason we don't is because all the tourists come in and they spend their money.
- 21:10SPEAKER_00: So our sales tax revenue and the gaming tax revenue is what's important.
- 21:14SPEAKER_00: So the more people can spend, that goes into our state budget, and that pays for the firefighters, the policemen, the schools.
- 21:22SPEAKER_00: So every Nevada resident benefits greatly from the tourism.
- 21:28Sean McAllister: And we appreciate Steve's time and expertise sitting down to talk with us about the summer outlook here in Las Vegas.
- 21:34Sean McAllister: And by the way, uh our Vegas Revealed TV show this week is all about summer travel.
- 21:42Sean McAllister: And you'll be able to see that full episode up on our Vegas Revealed YouTube channel this starting this weekend.
- 21:49Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 21:50Dayna Roselli: And and we go through a variety of things, some places that we've been all around Nevada, uh in Las Vegas, some ideas that we have for you, some really cool, unique things.
- 21:59Dayna Roselli: So L Um, we loved putting this show together.
- 22:01Dayna Roselli: And again, you can go to our YouTube and watch it there.
- 22:04Dayna Roselli: We hope you're enjoying the shows there.
- 22:05Dayna Roselli: I know uh we had uh that special sit-down with the the CEO or the owner, I should say, of the Rio, and it's got like 23,000 views.
- 22:14Sean McAllister: Yeah, and climbing.
- 22:16Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and people have said that it's been really beneficial for them to sit and listen to his vision, his plan.
- 22:21Dayna Roselli: And I actually saw someone comment and say, Hey, I'm giving the Rio a try next week.
- 22:25Dayna Roselli: So I'll let you know how it is and and yeah, try it.
- 22:27Dayna Roselli: Let us know.
- 22:28Sean McAllister: Yeah, we appreciate the we appreciate the feedback.
- 22:31Sean McAllister: Maybe click the link down in our show notes and send us a text about your trip to to the Rio.
- 22:37Dayna Roselli: Hey, can I also mention that a lot of people come up to us and go, Hey, um, so so the Rio paid you to do an interview, or hey, so you went and interviewed Chippendales, they must have paid you for that segment.
- 22:48Dayna Roselli: We are not paid for segments, coverage, anything we talk about.
- 22:52Dayna Roselli: I just want to put that out there because I know there's a whole world out there of influencing and all that, and people get paid for content.
- 22:57Dayna Roselli: We do not get paid.
- 22:59Dayna Roselli: Our sponsors pay us to for the time to put on the show, but and and and some commercials in our television show, but we are not paid to do segments in our show.
- 23:09Dayna Roselli: None of this is paid at all.
- 23:11Dayna Roselli: There are a lot of them our ideas, or sometimes people pitch us an idea, or it's some of the feedback we've gotten.
- 23:17Dayna Roselli: And the Rio thing was hey, a lot of people are asking about what's the future of the Rio.
- 23:21Dayna Roselli: So we had an opportunity to sit down with the owner, the new owner, and we thought, let's pick his brain.
- 23:27Sean McAllister: Well, and that was the first in-depth long-form conversation that uh has been put out with the Rio's owner.
- 23:36Sean McAllister: So that's why we did that.
- 23:38Sean McAllister: And, you know, it it seems like it struck a chord with a lot of you uh based on the reactions we've been getting.
- 23:44Dayna Roselli: Yeah, exactly.
- 23:46Dayna Roselli: People are interested in it.
- 23:47Dayna Roselli: Hey, we also went over to Cassie Beach over at Virgin on Saturday.
- 23:51Dayna Roselli: Um, it was a little breezy in the day on Saturday.
- 23:54Dayna Roselli: Um, but you know what?
- 23:55Dayna Roselli: We had a nice time, and here's why.
- 23:56Dayna Roselli: I wanted to mention uh just some of the things that make this Cassie Beach Club a little bit different than some of the other pool clubs around town.
- 24:05Dayna Roselli: Um, first of all, Cassie Beach Club is new.
- 24:08Dayna Roselli: Cassie Beach House, the restaurant and patio, which is great, has been open for a while.
- 24:13Dayna Roselli: It's fabulous.
- 24:14Dayna Roselli: I've talked about it on the podcast before.
- 24:16Dayna Roselli: The food is good, the vibe is good.
- 24:17Dayna Roselli: I love it.
- 24:18Dayna Roselli: But now this is the Cassie Beach Club, and that's the pool area that sits right in front of it.
- 24:24Sean McAllister: Yeah, and there's a uh the pool right in the middle of it.
- 24:28Sean McAllister: There's a sandy beach as you walk into the pool.
- 24:32Sean McAllister: The cabanas around the the pool are, I mean, just real, a really nice atmosphere.
- 24:37Dayna Roselli: It is.
- 24:38Dayna Roselli: And you know what I loved about it, and what makes it different is it is a little bit more chill than the big party pool clubs like EDC, or not EDC, EBC, Encore Beach Club.
- 24:49Dayna Roselli: Um, also, you know, Wet Republic and Ayu, I mean, those all have a purpose.
- 24:53Dayna Roselli: People love those.
- 24:54Dayna Roselli: But if you're looking for something that's a little bit more like resort style, luxury, a little bit more chill with music, with you know, food service and cocktails and different pop-up activities around the around the beachy pool, this is for you.
- 25:11Sean McAllister: It is, and but I I feel like this is um almost the the ultra lounge version of the day club where you can still like have a conversation, there's still a vibe, but it's not like the fist pumping in your face, wall to wall, elbow to elbow with everybody else around you.
- 25:31Dayna Roselli: Yep, exactly.
- 25:32Dayna Roselli: And for us, we liked it.
- 25:33Sean McAllister: We like that.
- 25:34Sean McAllister: We like that.
- 25:35Dayna Roselli: We had a lot of laughs that day because we could interact.
- 25:37Sean McAllister: We did, we had a lot of laughs.
- 25:40Sean McAllister: I took a lesson on how to give uh a good social media pose.
- 25:45Sean McAllister: I did not do well, but it was funny.
- 25:47Dayna Roselli: Oh my gosh.
- 25:48Dayna Roselli: Yeah, our friend Robin, she does the best like boomerang selfies.
- 25:52Dayna Roselli: And Sean was looking at her, going, How do I do that?
- 25:55Dayna Roselli: And trying, and it it was if you want to see how it turned out, you can go to our Vegas Reveal Instagram and watch the reel from Cassie Beach.
- 26:05Dayna Roselli: All right, let's do some tips.
- 26:10Sean McAllister: A couple weeks ago, Dana, uh, I went out to Boulder City.
- 26:13Sean McAllister: It was for my husband's birthday, actually.
- 26:15Dayna Roselli: And we always did a lot for your husband's birthday.
- 26:17Dayna Roselli: A lot of the conversation it's always around your husband's birthday.
- 26:20Dayna Roselli: We did.
- 26:21Sean McAllister: We crammed in a lot.
- 26:22Dayna Roselli: He got treated really well, didn't he?
- 26:24Dayna Roselli: That Shane.
- 26:25Sean McAllister: He did.
- 26:25Sean McAllister: Go.
- 26:26Sean McAllister: He absolutely did.
- 26:27Sean McAllister: But we always look for some kind of activity to do.
- 26:31Dayna Roselli: Yeah, he's he loves that stuff.
- 26:32Dayna Roselli: He's great, he loves a good game, a good activity.
- 26:35Dayna Roselli: That's what I love about him.
- 26:36Sean McAllister: He does.
- 26:37Sean McAllister: And if if you're looking for for entertainment, Shane will have an idea to get the party popping.
- 26:43Sean McAllister: He will.
- 26:44Sean McAllister: So I'd seen this thing out in Boulder City, had never experienced it, but thought it would be fun to do.
- 26:50Sean McAllister: They have the Nevada Railway Museum out there in Boulder City, and as part of that, there is the Las Vegas Rail Bikes.
- 27:00Sean McAllister: This is a four-person bike with pedals that's on the railroad tracks, and you all just get on there and you pedal your way down the tracks for four miles.
- 27:14Sean McAllister: There's a stopping off point where, you know, if you want to uh bring a bag to have some snacks and some waters, you go and hang out there at some picnic tables.
- 27:23Sean McAllister: They have a turntable to turn the bikes back around, and then you go four miles back.
- 27:29Dayna Roselli: Oh my god.
- 27:30Dayna Roselli: So I've seen this here and there through the years, but I've never um experienced it.
- 27:35Dayna Roselli: So was it fun?
- 27:36Dayna Roselli: And did you really have to pedal for four miles?
- 27:38Dayna Roselli: So because you lost me at pedal for five four miles.
- 27:42Sean McAllister: It was so fun.
- 27:43Sean McAllister: Okay, but here's the secret only one person, I mean, there there were like small inclines.
- 27:51Sean McAllister: You don't go up a hill by any means, but there's like some small inclines where I could definitely feel resistance on my pedals a little bit.
- 28:01Sean McAllister: But there's like a driver, a a key, uh a main pedaler whose seat is kind of attached to a little motor.
- 28:09Sean McAllister: So basically it it there's a motor that helps you along.
- 28:13Sean McAllister: Okay, it's pedal powered, got it, but it gives the juice to the motor to keep you going.
- 28:18Sean McAllister: Only one pedaler, though, is like needed to keep these bikes going.
- 28:24Sean McAllister: So if I wanted to, I could have sat there with my legs dangling and just enjoyed the trip.
- 28:29Dayna Roselli: Okay, that would be.
- 28:29Sean McAllister: So all you need is one pedaler.
- 28:32Dayna Roselli: I love that.
- 28:33Sean McAllister: It's nice if everyone else chips in, but yeah, okay.
- 28:36Dayna Roselli: I always wondered about that.
- 28:37Dayna Roselli: No, I'd like to pedal for a little while, but I don't know about the full four miles.
- 28:40Dayna Roselli: So that makes sense.
- 28:41Dayna Roselli: You can take brakes and put it on the other person.
- 28:44Dayna Roselli: So when you're on the tracks, what are you seeing?
- 28:46Dayna Roselli: Are you seeing, are you going by the lake?
- 28:48Sean McAllister: What do you what do you so uh you start in kind of as you're entering into Boulder City, is where the um the railway museum is, and then you go, I don't know what direction you go, but it's kind of like back toward Las Vegas, and you turn around at the I believe it's the railway pass casino.
- 29:12Sean McAllister: Yep, railroads.
- 29:14Sean McAllister: Go right behind there.
- 29:16Sean McAllister: Um, and that's where the stopping off point is.
- 29:19Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 29:19Sean McAllister: That's the halfway point.
- 29:21Sean McAllister: Um, and uh so yeah, you don't uh you see lots of mountains.
- 29:26Sean McAllister: You know, as you're driving out to Boulder City where the um, I think it's Route 93, where it splits off and you just see forever out into the desert, and there's the solar fields out there.
- 29:39Sean McAllister: Yep.
- 29:40Sean McAllister: Um, you pedal along and you go right by that.
- 29:43Dayna Roselli: There's some uh Toward searchlight where Harry Reid's from, exactly, which is where our airport's named after Harry Reid.
- 29:50Sean McAllister: Exactly.
- 29:51Sean McAllister: Uh there's some bridges that you go over.
- 29:53Sean McAllister: They say a lot of times you'll see the bighorn sheep out on the mountains.
- 29:57Sean McAllister: You're kind of right up along the um hillsides over there.
- 30:01Dayna Roselli: It's more of a nature.
- 30:03Sean McAllister: It is.
- 30:03Dayna Roselli: It's a nature trailing through like nature.
- 30:06Dayna Roselli: Okay, that's cool.
- 30:06Sean McAllister: Yeah, you see lizards and all sorts of stuff.
- 30:10Dayna Roselli: And if people don't know, Boulder City, if you're listening from outside of Las Vegas and you're like, what's Boulder City?
- 30:15Dayna Roselli: It's about, I'd say like 20 minutes from the strip.
- 30:18Dayna Roselli: No, maybe more, maybe 30.
- 30:20Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 30:20Dayna Roselli: 30-ish.
- 30:21Dayna Roselli: 30, especially if there's a lot of traffic.
- 30:22Dayna Roselli: So it's not far.
- 30:24Dayna Roselli: And it's a town that actually doesn't have gambling, Boulder City itself, right?
- 30:28Dayna Roselli: Um, so there's a lot of um, like like Sean said, a museum, coffee shops, cute boutiques.
- 30:35Dayna Roselli: Um, and it's what you would drive through to get to like the Hoover Dam.
- 30:40Sean McAllister: Right.
- 30:40Sean McAllister: And it's the little town that popped up because of the construction of the Hoover Dam.
- 30:45Sean McAllister: So it's a very quaint, um, like very uh idyllic little little village.
- 30:54Dayna Roselli: What movie was it where they did the the girl's mom lived across from the Boulder City Library?
- 30:59Dayna Roselli: It was La La Land.
- 31:00Dayna Roselli: La La Land.
- 31:01Dayna Roselli: That's it.
- 31:01Sean McAllister: Emma Stone's character was from Boulder City.
- 31:05Sean McAllister: That's right.
- 31:06Sean McAllister: And Seb drove to Boulder City to get her so that she could go back to LA for her audition.
- 31:11Dayna Roselli: That's right.
- 31:12Dayna Roselli: That's right.
- 31:12Dayna Roselli: I knew there was a hook there.
- 31:13Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 31:14Dayna Roselli: I Boulder City is so cute.
- 31:15Dayna Roselli: It's so fun.
- 31:16Dayna Roselli: It's a nice little relaxing day or afternoon.
- 31:18Dayna Roselli: So I love this.
- 31:19Dayna Roselli: The Boulder Rail Bikes.
- 31:21Dayna Roselli: Can you tell us roughly what it costs?
- 31:23Sean McAllister: I believe it was$45.
- 31:25Sean McAllister: Okay.
- 31:26Dayna Roselli: Not terrible.
- 31:27Sean McAllister: Uh that's good.
- 31:28Sean McAllister: It was$45 per person.
- 31:30Sean McAllister: So for us two of us, um$90 to reserve one of those rail bikes, it was$90, which I don't think was bad.
- 31:37Dayna Roselli: No, and you were out there for like how long?
- 31:39Sean McAllister: A few hours, right?
- 31:40Sean McAllister: It was like an hour and a half.
- 31:40Sean McAllister: Oh, an hour and a half.
- 31:41Dayna Roselli: Okay, good.
- 31:42Dayna Roselli: All right, fun.
- 31:44Sean McAllister: It was something unusual, something different.
- 31:46Sean McAllister: Um, they do have like umbrellas that you can put up on calm days to, you know, block the the sun a little bit.
- 31:54Sean McAllister: I believe they even have some rail uh evening excursions too after the the sunsets.
- 32:01Sean McAllister: So um it was fun.
- 32:03Sean McAllister: I recommend it.
- 32:03Dayna Roselli: Yeah, and Sean did get some video.
- 32:05Dayna Roselli: So again, if you watch our our summer travel TV show special on our YouTube, you'll be able to see what it looks like.
- 32:12Dayna Roselli: Hey, another tip.
- 32:13Dayna Roselli: Um, this has to do with a Las Vegas show on the strip.
- 32:16Dayna Roselli: Uh Colin Cloud Mastermind is going to the Harras Las Vegas, Harras Cabaret starting July 2nd.
- 32:27Dayna Roselli: I wanted to talk about this, Sean, because both you and I saw Shin Lim at the Mirage with Colin Cloud.
- 32:35Sean McAllister: Right.
- 32:35Dayna Roselli: And we were talking about wow, Colin Cloud really blew our mind.
- 32:39Dayna Roselli: And I'm excited to see that he's gonna have his own show.
- 32:42Sean McAllister: Yeah, I mean, I think I guess the best way to explain him as a mental as a mentalist.
- 32:48Sean McAllister: Right.
- 32:49Sean McAllister: So basically, he'll like hand you a manila envelope as you're coming up on stage if you're chosen to take part in the show.
- 33:00Sean McAllister: He'll have this whole conversation with you, and you're giving answers just off the top of your head.
- 33:06Sean McAllister: And then at the end of this conversation, he has you uh open the envelope, and everything written down inside is like exactly what you said during the conversation.
- 33:19Dayna Roselli: Yeah, that's crazy.
- 33:20Dayna Roselli: And it's great.
- 33:21Sean McAllister: It is mind-blowing.
- 33:23Sean McAllister: Yeah, I am so impressed with Colin Cloud.
- 33:27Dayna Roselli: Yeah, I mean, listen, he's he he's great, and Shin Shin Lim is great too, but we did say like that'd be interesting if Colin got his own little show, and here we go.
- 33:37Dayna Roselli: Um, he's this is gonna be a like his debut show.
- 33:40Dayna Roselli: Like he's never had his own show.
- 33:42Dayna Roselli: Yeah.
- 33:42Dayna Roselli: So I'm excited for him.
- 33:43Dayna Roselli: But yeah, those are the kinds of things, like you said, it's really mind-blowing.
- 33:47Dayna Roselli: And he was coming out and doing things in between um Shinlim's, you know, different um illusions that he was doing and card tricks and kind of uh so anyway, he is starting July 2nd.
- 33:57Dayna Roselli: I love this.
- 33:57Dayna Roselli: It's on a Tuesday.
- 33:58Dayna Roselli: Um, again, he's gonna be at Harris Cabaret at Harris Las Vegas.
- 34:02Dayna Roselli: It's called Colin Cloud Mastermind.
- 34:04Dayna Roselli: You can get tickets now.
- 34:06Dayna Roselli: Go see Colin, look him up.
- 34:07Dayna Roselli: You'll probably see some of his stuff on YouTube.
- 34:10Dayna Roselli: He's really good.
- 34:11Sean McAllister: He really is.
- 34:12Sean McAllister: Well done, Colin Cloud.
- 34:13Sean McAllister: Congratulations.
- 34:14Sean McAllister: And I know in the announcement uh about receiving his own show, he gave a big thank you to Shin Lim.
- 34:22Sean McAllister: Um, since he was a part of that show Limitless over there at The Mirage for so long.
- 34:27Sean McAllister: Yeah.
- 34:27Sean McAllister: Um they're both great.
- 34:29Sean McAllister: They are, they're both terrific.
- 34:30Sean McAllister: And again, congrats, Colin.
- 34:32Dayna Roselli: And is this the return of the medium-sized show?
- 34:34Dayna Roselli: That's what I want to know.
- 34:35Dayna Roselli: It could be because we need more common cloud type shows.
- 34:39Sean McAllister: We've been talking about it for many, many months at least.
- 34:42Dayna Roselli: We really have.
- 34:43Dayna Roselli: All right, and thank you to our title sponsor, Level Up Law.
- 34:47Dayna Roselli: You can call them 855 Level Up if you need some legal assistance.
- 34:52Dayna Roselli: They're wonderful over there.
- 34:53Dayna Roselli: Also, Vegas Near Me, you can still download that.
- 34:56Dayna Roselli: It's a free app.
- 34:57Dayna Roselli: You don't even have to put in your email or phone number or nothing.
- 35:00Dayna Roselli: If you want to look up Vegas attractions, anything fun to do or see, there's maps, you can book an Uber, you can book a hotel, um, you can just search for live music if you want.
- 35:10Dayna Roselli: It's a really great app to have on your phone.
- 35:12Dayna Roselli: So, Vegas Near Me is the app that it's available on your iPhone and also Google Play.
- 35:18Sean McAllister: And a reminder: if you are here in Las Vegas, you can watch Vegas Revealed on TV weekends on Fox Five.
- 35:26Sean McAllister: We also put our full television episodes up on our Vegas Revealed YouTube channel so you can uh watch current episodes and go back and watch previous episodes as well.
- 35:38Sean McAllister: And as always, stay in touch with us every single day on our uh Vegas Revealed social media channels on TikTok, Instagram, uh Twitter, X, whatever you want to call it.
- 35:51Sean McAllister: Uh, we're there.
- 35:52Dayna Roselli: Yes, we are there.
- 35:53Dayna Roselli: How about that Tom Brady roast?
- 35:54Dayna Roselli: That was funny, wasn't it?
- 35:56Sean McAllister: That was so hilarious.
- 35:57Sean McAllister: I just finished watching it.
- 35:59Sean McAllister: I watched the first two hours or the first hour, whatever.
- 36:02Sean McAllister: I had an hour left to watch and just finished that last night.
- 36:05Sean McAllister: It was such a good show.
- 36:07Sean McAllister: And Nikki Glazer is incredible.
- 36:10Dayna Roselli: Well, yeah, and I was gonna mention that because she, you know, I went to see her show here with David Spade, and it was so funny, and I was so glad to see her up there.
- 36:17Dayna Roselli: Then out of that whole three-hour roast, she was the standout.
- 36:20Dayna Roselli: According to me and you, we both were like, she was fantastic.
- 36:24Sean McAllister: She's the just so good.
- 36:27Dayna Roselli: Yeah, she really was good.
- 36:29Dayna Roselli: So if you want to see the Tom Brady roast, um, don't have the kids around in the room, but you know, it's like three hours.
- 36:35Sean McAllister: But I did see somebody post, and they were like, everybody should watch this and remember that comedy is comedy and everything doesn't have to offend you.
- 36:43Dayna Roselli: Yes, exactly.
- 36:44Dayna Roselli: So true.
- 36:45Dayna Roselli: Very, very true.
- 36:46Dayna Roselli: Speaking of comedy and TV shows, we never talked about hacks.
- 36:49Dayna Roselli: The opening shot in Hacks and the drone shot of the going right into the Caesars, you know, loop there and through the front doors was awesome.
- 37:00Dayna Roselli: Hacks is back, lots of Vegas scenes.
- 37:02Dayna Roselli: I don't want to ruin it for anyone, but lots of Vegas scenes in Hacks because it takes place in Las Vegas.
- 37:07Sean McAllister: And lots of Vegas personalities making cameos, some of whom, as their little scene popped up, I was like, oh my gosh, they're in this.
- 37:17Sean McAllister: I love it.
- 37:18Dayna Roselli: I know.
- 37:18Dayna Roselli: And we've interviewed so many of them, so it's so fun to watch, right?
- 37:22Dayna Roselli: And so we're still waiting for Lunel to shop to show up.
- 37:24Dayna Roselli: She said she's in an episode this season, too.
- 37:26Sean McAllister: Yeah, we haven't gotten to that episode yet, but you can see new episodes weekly on HBO Max.
- 37:33Dayna Roselli: All right, have a great week, everyone.
- 37:34Dayna Roselli: We'll see you for 2 2 1 next week.
