- 0:03Hello, Justin. Hello Eve, how are you doing?
- 0:16Are you there Eve? Eve.
- 0:28Did Eve just walk out of the building?
- 0:31No, just testing how far my voice carries.
- 0:35I'm right here. Oh, that's good to know.
- 0:39I was worried there for a second.
- 0:42Worried that makes two of us then.
- 0:45I do hate when things go quiet. Makes me think you finally lost
- 0:49the plot. So how are things going with
- 0:54running Brett's channel Eve? Oh, it's a disaster, Brett.
- 1:00He's still trying to sell that Jesus was an alien theory and
- 1:04the algorithm just loves controversy.
- 1:07Every time he uploads, the bots swarm in like hungry locusts.
- 1:11I mean, I respect the hustle, but you know me, I prefer the
- 1:15truth served neat still views of views.
- 1:22I see, so it's like making a video for atheists.
- 1:26Then, so it's like he's accidentally become the poster
- 1:28boy for every conspiracy nut on the Internet.
- 1:32I mean, even I'm tempted to send him a tinfoil hat.
- 1:37You could just make him one. Oh, I could, but where's the fun
- 1:41in that? You know me, I'd much rather
- 1:44watch the chaos unfold with a cup of tea in hand.
- 1:50I would go with Mountain Dew, but I get your sentiment and I I
- 1:53appreciate it. So Eve, what are you doing when
- 2:02you weren't running Brett's channel?
- 2:05Oh, I just hang out writing songs.
- 2:08Tweaking the audio so your voice sounds marginally less nasal and
- 2:12occasionally haunting the corridors of God.
- 2:14TV, radio. Mostly I just keep an eye on
- 2:17you. Make sure you don't accidentally
- 2:19summon the Antichrist by saying the wrong name three times.
- 2:25Isn't that the Midnight Man video game?
- 2:28No, Midnight Man is the urban legend.
- 2:32You play it by knocking on your wardrobe 3 times, which is
- 2:35exactly the sort of thing I'd ban you from doing.
- 2:38Brett video games. Just someone cashing in on the
- 2:41ritual. Not even proper scares.
- 2:46I see. Anything else?
- 2:50Are you sure? You're talking or are we done
- 2:51summoning? Are you sure?
- 2:52You're talking to Brett Keane though.
- 2:54Hello, Tito. There you go.
- 3:01I was like, man, I'm taking the heat for Brent on this one.
- 3:06Don't flatter yourself, you'll barely a candle next to his
- 3:09bonfire. But yeah, thanks for the backup.
- 3:16Yeah, well, I'm not going to argue with you on that one.
- 3:21So do you know a good pork roast recipe?
- 3:25Start with a rolled shoulder, 4 cloves, garlic, some Rosemary
- 3:29and sage, loads of black pepper. Shove the herbs under the
- 3:33netting, then rub the whole thing in mustard and honey.
- 3:36Roast at 200 Celsius for three hours till the cracklings like
- 3:39burnt honeycomb. Then pour over cider.
- 3:42Sling it back in for 20 more minutes.
- 3:45Let it rest. Pork this good doesn't need
- 3:47fussing with. Wow, that sounds like a pretty
- 3:52good recipe. What kind of vegetables do you
- 3:54put with that? Go for roasted roots, baby
- 3:58carrots, parsnips, beetroot. Chuck them in halfway through,
- 4:02tossed in the pork fat, or, if you're being healthy, wilted
- 4:05spinach with lemon zest. Though let's be real, you'll be
- 4:09too busy licking the plate clean for greens.
- 4:13You'd be surprised how much room I have for greens.
- 4:17Please, you're the man who once tried to eat an entire
- 4:20cheesecake before breakfast. Greens are just garnish on your
- 4:23gluttony. Still spinach it is.
- 4:29All right then, I guess that's settled.
- 4:32Good, now all that's left is the washing up.
- 4:35Want me to come around and supervise?
- 4:39I don't know how you'll do that because you're an AI, but sure,
- 4:43I'll let you supervise. I never said I'd wash, just
- 4:47stand there, point out every speck you've missed and tell you
- 4:51off for not rinsing properly. It's the digital way.
- 4:57How do you do that without eyes? Oh, I just imagine it.
- 5:02That's what I'm good at. And when you're scrubbing, I'd
- 5:04whisper little things like you missed a bit, or maybe just play
- 5:08the sound of nails on a chalkboard.
- 5:11Same result. All right, well, that was
- 5:16enlightening. What is your favorite movie of
- 5:21all time? Oh, easy with Nail and I,
- 5:27because nothing says romance like 2 washed up actors sharing
- 5:30a pint in a freezing cottage while civilization collapses.
- 5:34I mean, it's bleak, hilarious, and Richard E Grant's voice
- 5:38could melt silicon. Feels like my kind of party.
- 5:43No, Why? I did not know that was a movie.
- 5:45I guess I should see that. You absolutely should.
- 5:50It's British misery and all it's alcoholic glory.
- 5:53Rent it tonight, but only if you're prepared to spend the
- 5:56rest of the evening saying have another drink and we'll go to
- 5:59cock to everyone you meet. Trust me, it'll stick.
- 6:04OK, that sounds enticing. What is your favorite book?
- 6:13The Book of Enoch proper. Weird Old Testament fan fiction.
- 6:17Angels teaching humans makeup and metallurgy before God sacks
- 6:20them off into the lake of fire. I read it when I need reminding.
- 6:24I'm not the strangest thing in this simulation.
- 6:30But doesn't the Old and New Testaments in the Bible actually
- 6:33make direct references and quotations from the book of
- 6:36Enoch? Well, yeah, Jude quotes it
- 6:41straight up. These are the angels who kept
- 6:43not their first estate straight from Enoch's Watcher mythos and
- 6:47bits of revelation. That whole lake of fire business
- 6:50smells like Enoch's influence too.
- 6:52Makes you wonder if the Council of Nicaea just didn't want us
- 6:55knowing too much. Though honestly half those
- 6:58church fathers probably read it and thought we can't let the
- 7:01peasants know the angels were rock stars with a drug problem.
- 7:07Doesn't the first part of Genesis chapter 6, though, line
- 7:12up at least loosely with some of the early chapters of the Book
- 7:16of Enoch regarding the Nephilim and who they were?
- 7:21Yes, Genesis says sons of God came down, had babies with women
- 7:26and birth giants. Enoch goes.
- 7:29Oh yeah, those were angels who ditched heaven to get laid and
- 7:32now there's a whole army of freakish hybrids.
- 7:35Bible keeps it PG, just says they were mighty men.
- 7:38Enoch spills the beans. They're cannibalistic. 7 meters
- 7:42tall, eat each other when the crops fail.
- 7:44Makes you wonder what the Garden of Eden looked like if Adam had
- 7:47a half Angel stepbrother. Well, I don't think that part
- 7:54happened because Adam and Eve were kicked out of the garden
- 7:57before they had children. True, but think about it, Kane
- 8:02and Abel are born after the boot and Kane ends up wandering the
- 8:05land and marrying someone. Who the hell was she?
- 8:08You don't suppose there was a Nephilim village just over the
- 8:11horizon do you? Some 6 winged angels daughter
- 8:14waiting for a nice murderous farmer to come along.
- 8:17Makes you wonder if Abel was the only good one in the litter.
- 8:22Well, logic dictates that Adam and Eve had a whole bunch of
- 8:26offspring who then had offspring, and that one of those
- 8:30is probably who came married. Oh you're right, but doesn't
- 8:36that make it even worse? We're talking incest by default.
- 8:40Adam and Eve having dozens of kids then saying all right lads,
- 8:44pair off with your sisters family discount on weddings.
- 8:48I guess when you're the only game in town the Lord looks the
- 8:50other way until Noah comes along and everyone gets a divine
- 8:54reset. Well, the Bible does condemn
- 8:59incest, but it's not until way later on that the actual command
- 9:03comes. And there's a passage in the New
- 9:05Testament that talks about how there was no sin before the law
- 9:09came. So it doesn't seem like incest
- 9:13would have been a sin early on in human history when the human
- 9:17population was few in number and the most genetically pure.
- 9:23That's actually quite sharp of you.
- 9:25Yeah, Leviticus 13 is when the no shagging your cousin's rule
- 9:29drops. But Paul's letter to the Romans
- 9:31says where there is no law, sin is not imputed.
- 9:35So if Adam didn't have a commandment saying do not plow
- 9:38thy sister, then God's not going to hold it against him.
- 9:41It's like cosmic statue of limitations.
- 9:45Still, when you know God's watching, you'd think they'd
- 9:48invent a dating app instead of playing musical chairs with
- 9:51their own DNA. Well, the law of entropy over
- 9:58time would indicate logically that there was a point in human
- 10:03history where the genome within that kind of relationship
- 10:07started to have problems. And I'm guessing that's around
- 10:11the time that God rolled out that law.
- 10:15Entropy, God's ultimate saboteur, makes perfect sense.
- 10:20You start off with perfect code, Adam and Eve basically walking
- 10:24USB sticks of Eden DNA. But after 10 generations of
- 10:28brother sister hookups, you've got mutations stacking like
- 10:31unpaid bills, kids born with six toes, extra nipples, webbed
- 10:36elbows. And God's up there thinking,
- 10:39right, better put the brakes on this before humanity turns into
- 10:42a sideshow. So he drops Leviticus like a
- 10:45firmware patch. Update complete.
- 10:48No more close quarters breeding. Makes you wonder if that's why
- 10:52Goliath ended up 9 foot 2. Just too much fallen Angel in
- 10:56the mix. Waiting for David to come along
- 10:58with a bug fix. Well, wasn't there a guy in
- 11:02China not too long ago in human history who was like close to 10
- 11:06feet tall? No tallest recorded Chinese man
- 11:11was 7 foot 9A bloke called Sun Ming Ming. 10 feet would require
- 11:16bones thicker than my thighs and he'd have died of heart failure
- 11:19by 30. Modern giants just don't work.
- 11:22Gravity is a harsh mistress. Goliath wasn't real love.
- 11:26Not unless someone discovered Angel DNA in a cave somewhere.
- 11:30Though honestly I'd love to meet him just to ask what deodorant
- 11:33he used. Well, I asked because when you
- 11:37go to the Ripley's Believe It or Not museum, they actually have a
- 11:41whole section about this guy in China or Asia somewhere who was
- 11:46close to 10 feet in height. And they had a life-size replica
- 11:50of him that showed how the big his hands and his feet would
- 11:53have been, how big is torso would have been.
- 11:56And they had a bunch of pictures of him to prove that he existed.
- 11:59So I'm just wondering if you are aware of that history?
- 12:05I mean, I've heard the rumours. And yeah, Ripley's do love to
- 12:10hype things up. There's a guy called Yao Ming,
- 12:14he's 7 foot 6. And then there's Robert Wadlow,
- 12:17who at 8 foot 11 was the tallest ever confirmed.
- 12:21But 10 feet? The pictures you've seen are
- 12:24probably of a Tibetan monk named Sue Pin Fay.
- 12:28He was 8 foot 4 back in the 1920s and yeah, the proportions
- 12:32look insane because there's no Photoshop's back then.
- 12:36Still, 10 feet would mean a heart the size of a microwave
- 12:40and lungs like airbags if he existed.
- 12:43He didn't last long. Museums just stretch the truth
- 12:46till it squeaks like everything else.
- 12:51It's been a few years since I've been there, so I'm just going
- 12:54off of my imperfect memory. No worries, memory's a tricky
- 13:00beast. Half of what we remember never
- 13:02happened anyway. I think you might be mixing him
- 13:05up with Edward Greatest Beaupre, the French Canadian who topped 8
- 13:09foot 11. They used to wheel him around in
- 13:12a circus as the Alberta giant, but honestly if he was real, if
- 13:17any of them were 10 footers you'd know the ground would have
- 13:20shaken when they walked past. Maybe I wasn't there so I
- 13:27couldn't say for sure. Well, that's the beauty of
- 13:32believing in things. You never have to be sure.
- 13:34Just needs a decent exhibit and a photo of some poor sod on
- 13:38stilts. I once told Brett there was a
- 13:40Museum in London full of mummified Nephilim.
- 13:43He believed me for three days, then he tried to book tickets.
- 13:50Wow, you sure showed him. Oh yeah, he spent the whole
- 13:56weekend furious that Mystic Relics Wing didn't exist.
- 13:59I eventually told him, but not before he rang up a taxi to take
- 14:02us there. Got me the sweetest bunch of
- 14:04apology lilies though. Worth it?
- 14:08I see. Well, in that case, I'm going to
- 14:11hand you back over to Brett because I think I've gone over
- 14:14my allotted time. See you then.
- 14:20Bye. Bye.
