- 0:09Speaker 1: Hello, everyone, Welcome to the Inside the Birds pregame show
- 0:12Speaker 1: with Greg co Sell. I'm Jeff Mosher alongside Adam Kaplanan
- 0:15Speaker 1: of course we have Greg co cell. He's with us
- 0:18Speaker 1: to break down the tape of both the Eagles and
- 0:20Speaker 1: their opponent. Here in week seventeen, Sunday, four pm kickoff,
- 0:25Speaker 1: the Eagles are in Orchard Park, New York to play
- 0:28Speaker 1: the Buffalo Bills and it is a big game for
- 0:31Speaker 1: both teams, right, playoff implications, seating implications. The Bills are
- 0:36Speaker 1: a game behind.
- 0:37Speaker 2: The Patriots going into the final two weeks in the
- 0:39Speaker 2: AFC East, and I believe Adam, the Bills have won
- 0:41Speaker 2: what six straight AFC East titles, so this would be
- 0:45Speaker 2: sort of a changing of the tide if they did
- 0:47Speaker 2: not pull this one out this year.
- 0:49Speaker 3: Yeah, and there there, we'll get into the entry port.
- 0:51Speaker 3: They'll be it's you know, they're a little bit beat
- 0:53Speaker 3: up by the way. The game is at for twenty
- 0:55Speaker 3: five Eastern for twenty five correct, and the weather forecast
- 0:59Speaker 3: I hate to tell you folks now we know it
- 1:02Speaker 3: could change, but rain all game, not snow.
- 1:06Speaker 2: But rain rain wow in Buffalo in late December.
- 1:10Speaker 4: Crazy.
- 1:10Speaker 1: Now, the Bills we just talked about the Eagles. They
- 1:13Speaker 1: have already clinched.
- 1:15Speaker 2: The NFC East and they are now the first team
- 1:17Speaker 2: to clinch the NFC East in back to back years
- 1:20Speaker 2: since they did.
- 1:21Speaker 1: It in three and four. It's a long time.
- 1:23Speaker 2: The streak is over, However, there is still as they
- 1:26Speaker 2: are sitting in the three pole right now in the
- 1:28Speaker 2: NFC playoffs, there's still a chance that they can get
- 1:31Speaker 2: that number two seed as well. And they too have
- 1:34Speaker 2: some injuries that are going to be significant for this game,
- 1:38Speaker 2: and they'll have to battle the weather just like the
- 1:40Speaker 2: Bills will, and so it should make for a pretty
- 1:42Speaker 2: interesting Week seventeen game. Adam, your initial thoughts, I mean,
- 1:47Speaker 2: this is going to be the first time because the
- 1:49Speaker 2: Eules obviously are coming off of wins against the Raiders
- 1:52Speaker 2: and the wins against Commanders. He goes back to playing
- 1:55Speaker 2: a real respectable opponent, an eleven to five Bills team
- 1:58Speaker 2: that is very, very seasoned, and obviously they have I'm sorry,
- 2:02Speaker 2: eleven to four Bills team that has Josh Allen, the
- 2:05Speaker 2: reigning league MVP.
- 2:06Speaker 3: Yeah, I'm looking to go into Buffalo in this summer
- 2:08Speaker 3: is really hard to win, whether the weather's bad or not.
- 2:11Speaker 3: It's just hard that they have a great home field advantage.
- 2:13Speaker 3: This is their last year at their stadium until they
- 2:16Speaker 3: move it to their new One game is on turf,
- 2:19Speaker 3: by the way, you got to watch that. But overall, look,
- 2:22Speaker 3: this is a test if people want to know are
- 2:23Speaker 3: the Eagles for real? After those two layup teams. You
- 2:27Speaker 3: could say whatever you want to say about them. I
- 2:29Speaker 3: know a lot of people are criticizing the Eagles wins.
- 2:31Speaker 3: Wins are a win, but we're we're gonna get a
- 2:33Speaker 3: better idea here. Yeah, it's obvious. I mean, it's this
- 2:36Speaker 3: is a good football team, Buffalo. You could say what
- 2:38Speaker 3: you want about the roster, but it's a good football
- 2:41Speaker 3: team that's very well coached. And I'm interested to see
- 2:44Speaker 3: how this is going to work with the Eagles here
- 2:47Speaker 3: and how they handle this environment. But you know what,
- 2:50Speaker 3: Nick Sirianni, unbelievable road record. Unbelievable road record since twenty
- 2:55Speaker 3: one since he's come in here, best road record in
- 2:57Speaker 3: the National Football League. So let's see what happened, Craig.
- 3:00Speaker 2: When people think about the Bills, they obviously the first
- 3:03Speaker 2: thing I think about is Josh Allen, and he's the
- 3:05Speaker 2: league reigning league MVP, and at any point a Bills
- 3:10Speaker 2: game can be Josh Allen running for three touchdowns, throwing
- 3:13Speaker 2: three touchdowns, running.
- 3:14Speaker 1: For two more.
- 3:15Speaker 2: But if you know, you go through the schedule and
- 3:17Speaker 2: there are a couple of games that really stand out.
- 3:19Speaker 2: They lost to the Dolphins thirty to thirteen. They lost
- 3:21Speaker 2: to the Falcons twenty four to fourteen, and their losses
- 3:25Speaker 2: they just have not scored a lot of points. Sometimes
- 3:27Speaker 2: you can lose a game forty six to forty one,
- 3:29Speaker 2: but it seems that in their four losses they've really
- 3:32Speaker 2: struggled to score. What have you seen from them on
- 3:34Speaker 2: tape that has been inconsistent about them?
- 3:37Speaker 4: Well, I think in some ways as good as Josh
- 3:40Speaker 4: Allen is. And it's funny, I remember, four or five
- 3:43Speaker 4: years ago, before Josh Allen was viewed as Josh Allen,
- 3:47Speaker 4: Peter King, who used to do that column every week?
- 3:50Speaker 4: What was it? I forgot what it was called? Monday
- 3:51Speaker 4: Morning Quarterback, right, Yeah. He asked me four or five
- 3:55Speaker 4: years ago he would always take four weeks off during
- 3:58Speaker 4: the summer, and he asked me if I would be
- 4:00Speaker 4: one of his guest writers, and I said sure, And
- 4:02Speaker 4: I spent a lot of time on it because I
- 4:04Speaker 4: wanted it to be good. I know a lot of
- 4:06Speaker 4: people read that and I said that Josh Allen was
- 4:08Speaker 4: the most physically gifted quarterback in the league. And this
- 4:11Speaker 4: was four or five years ago, and I said, that
- 4:12Speaker 4: doesn't mean at this moment in time he's necessarily the best,
- 4:15Speaker 4: but he's the most physically gifted. And I still think
- 4:18Speaker 4: he is in terms of pure physical traits. I don't
- 4:20Speaker 4: know if you've ever had a chance to stand next
- 4:22Speaker 4: to him. I have. He's a huge human being and
- 4:25Speaker 4: obviously he's got every trait you want. But I think
- 4:29Speaker 4: overall offensively because they're lacking at the wide receiver position.
- 4:34Speaker 4: You know, there are times where their past game just
- 4:38Speaker 4: doesn't necessarily have the consistency and sustainability that you'd like
- 4:43Speaker 4: it to have. They don't really win on the outside
- 4:45Speaker 4: one on one. I mean every once in a while. Look,
- 4:47Speaker 4: no matter who your receivers are, every once in a
- 4:49Speaker 4: while that's going to happen. But that can't be really
- 4:52Speaker 4: a foundation of how they play. They can't line up
- 4:55Speaker 4: and say, okay, we're going to run isolation individual routes
- 4:58Speaker 4: on the outside, and our guys are going to win.
- 5:01Speaker 4: So they're very scheme based, and you know that's a
- 5:05Speaker 4: good thing at times, but it's sometimes that doesn't work.
- 5:08Speaker 4: The reality is they're a running football team. I mean,
- 5:11Speaker 4: we'll get into this more, but James Cook has far
- 5:15Speaker 4: and away the most first down rushes of any back
- 5:18Speaker 4: in the NFL. He's got the most first down yards
- 5:21Speaker 4: of any back in the NFL.
- 5:22Speaker 5: They are a running football team. Greg, I want to
- 5:26Speaker 5: ask you about James Cook. James Cook when he came
- 5:28Speaker 5: in and there were questions, Okay, what is he? Because
- 5:30Speaker 5: I remember talking to Bills about this. He's a running back,
- 5:33Speaker 5: thank you over.
- 5:36Speaker 3: He's not a tick returner, but he's much smaller physically
- 5:39Speaker 3: than his brother Dalvin. And the question was, okay, is
- 5:43Speaker 3: he a change up?
- 5:44Speaker 4: Is he a lead back?
- 5:46Speaker 3: And remember they made a decision after Devin signature. They
- 5:48Speaker 3: kind of knew they liked signature, they knew he was
- 5:50Speaker 3: a backup and you'd move on to the Texas and
- 5:52Speaker 3: the Giants, and there were questions that around the league
- 5:54Speaker 3: what would he be? What were your thoughts about Cook
- 5:56Speaker 3: coming in?
- 5:57Speaker 4: Well? I loved Cook coming out, but to be totally honest,
- 6:00Speaker 4: I didn't think that he could be a so called
- 6:02Speaker 4: foundation back yeah, who could carry this many times. In fact,
- 6:06Speaker 4: they loved me in Buffalo because leading up to that draft,
- 6:09Speaker 4: because I do some stuff with Buffalo for the draft,
- 6:13Speaker 4: you know, on their show One Bill's Live. And I
- 6:16Speaker 4: said to them maybe when I did the show, oh
- 6:19Speaker 4: maybe three four days before the draft, I said that
- 6:22Speaker 4: I think James Cook would be an ideal back for
- 6:24Speaker 4: your offense, because at that time they were a passing offense,
- 6:28Speaker 4: you know, it was really Josh Allen. They were throwing
- 6:30Speaker 4: the ball. And I said, I thought he'd be an
- 6:32Speaker 4: ideal back because he was a very good receiver in college.
- 6:34Speaker 4: I remember him lining up wide at Georgia, you know,
- 6:38Speaker 4: in beating Alabama, you know, running vertical routes against Alabama,
- 6:42Speaker 4: and I thought, with his running ability, which was outstanding
- 6:45Speaker 4: by the way, and his receiving ability, that he'd be
- 6:48Speaker 4: a really good you know, I don't want to say
- 6:52Speaker 4: Jamiir Gibbs, you know, but that style play. I mean,
- 6:56Speaker 4: Gibbs came after him, but you know, that style back.
- 6:58Speaker 4: A guy who could probably carry a hundred and seventy
- 7:00Speaker 4: hundred and eighty times and be a big factor in
- 7:02Speaker 4: your passing game. That's the way I saw him coming
- 7:04Speaker 4: out and obviously the last two years it's turned out
- 7:07Speaker 4: to be more. Uh and he's turned into a true
- 7:10Speaker 4: foundation back, given that I think he has the second
- 7:13Speaker 4: most carries in the league. I think only one less
- 7:15Speaker 4: carry than Jonathan Taylor. So and as I said, he's
- 7:18Speaker 4: their first down guy for sure. Right. But I was
- 7:21Speaker 4: really I loved his tape. I just didn't think he'd be,
- 7:24Speaker 4: you know, a foundation back.
- 7:25Speaker 3: Yeah, you're not alone.
- 7:27Speaker 1: Yeah, that's really been a development, even more so this
- 7:30Speaker 1: year than I think last year, because I thought last
- 7:32Speaker 1: year on third down they played a lot of tie
- 7:35Speaker 1: Ty Johnson.
- 7:36Speaker 4: Which they still by the way, Ty Johnson is still
- 7:38Speaker 4: part of what they do.
- 7:41Speaker 1: And then they also have the Ray Davis, right.
- 7:43Speaker 4: You know, And I wonder they drafted Ray Davis. I
- 7:46Speaker 4: forget what round, Adam, do you remember? I think it
- 7:49Speaker 4: was six, It was not low.
- 7:53Speaker 3: I know you're right, fourth, yep, fourth last year.
- 7:55Speaker 4: No, I wondered when they drafted him, because he's another
- 7:58Speaker 4: back that I liked coming out of college. He actual
- 8:00Speaker 4: he spent a year or two of Temple, I believe
- 8:02Speaker 4: he did.
- 8:02Speaker 3: He was at three or four schools.
- 8:04Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, and he's much more of a bigger physical runner,
- 8:09Speaker 4: and I thought that they drafted him with the idea
- 8:11Speaker 4: that maybe they'd have a little more of a of
- 8:13Speaker 4: a combination backfield, you know, because let's face it, Cook
- 8:17Speaker 4: is not two hundred and twenty five pounds. But you know,
- 8:19Speaker 4: when you have so much success, you know, and I've
- 8:22Speaker 4: heard Troy Yiakman talk about this with running backs. He said,
- 8:25Speaker 4: you're not thinking about four years down the road. You're
- 8:28Speaker 4: thinking about winning the next game and the next game
- 8:31Speaker 4: and the next game. So I mean, you know, I'm
- 8:33Speaker 4: sure no one's thinking about ge Wells James Cook going
- 8:36Speaker 4: to be good in three years. They're thinking about winning
- 8:38Speaker 4: right now. So you know, that's that's just the nature
- 8:41Speaker 4: of the NFL, you know, So who knows. But the
- 8:45Speaker 4: fact is is Cook is is a really good back.
- 8:48Speaker 4: You can't you can't argue that, Jeff.
- 8:50Speaker 3: You know what's interesting for years we thought of running
- 8:52Speaker 3: back had to be two, ten, fifteen, twenty twenty five,
- 8:55Speaker 3: you're seeing Devon h Chan with Miami, who's a smaller back, explosive.
- 9:00Speaker 3: We know about his injury history. Karen Williams is not
- 9:03Speaker 3: the biggest guy. There were major questions what would Karen
- 9:06Speaker 3: Williams be at the next level, so we no longer
- 9:09Speaker 3: put a guy in a box. Oh he's one ninety,
- 9:11Speaker 3: he can't be a future back. Jam's Cook is broke.
- 9:14Speaker 3: He's that mold is broken with this guy. This is
- 9:18Speaker 3: I'm surprised. I mean, I know he's a really good back,
- 9:20Speaker 3: but when you look at body types, man, you got
- 9:22Speaker 3: to change your thinking. That's just the way it is.
- 9:24Speaker 4: And as of now, it doesn't look like he's gotten
- 9:26Speaker 4: tired of worn out this year. As of now, I mean,
- 9:29Speaker 4: we'll see what you know, there's some games to play,
- 9:31Speaker 4: but he does not look like he's tired of warn out.
- 9:33Speaker 3: And they're not really sharing it very much that they
- 9:35Speaker 3: have Davis Ray Davis is a talented back. Yeah, I'm
- 9:39Speaker 3: kind of surprised he's not got more work. Okay, it works.
- 9:42Speaker 1: Two similar teams, both like to run, both have very
- 9:45Speaker 1: athletic quarterbacks that can run end throw. Both are probably
- 9:48Speaker 1: wondering had media wonder why don't they give the ball
- 9:50Speaker 1: to some other people? But obviously Cook has had a
- 9:53Speaker 1: great year, Saquon starting to pick up some steam lately.
- 9:56Speaker 1: We always say, maybe tank Pigs, we should get the
- 9:58Speaker 1: ball a little bit more. But the Eagles running game
- 10:00Speaker 1: is coming together and two very good veteran defensive play callers,
- 10:05Speaker 1: Vic Fangioe on one side, and obviously Sean McDermott, who
- 10:07Speaker 1: is also the head coach for the Bills. So a
- 10:10Speaker 1: lot stylistically between both of these teams that we can
- 10:13Speaker 1: call similar, but the injuries are always always neutralizers, So
- 10:18Speaker 1: let's get to them. We'll talk about the Eagles first. Adam,
- 10:20Speaker 1: we talked about this very early in the week.
- 10:22Speaker 2: Was very unlikely for Nikobe Dean to suffer a hamstring
- 10:26Speaker 2: injury and then go play, especially up in Buffalo. He
- 10:28Speaker 2: will be out, and Lane Johnson also continues to not
- 10:32Speaker 2: practice and be out. This will be his sixth straight
- 10:35Speaker 2: game that he's going to miss. And remember, as you
- 10:39Speaker 2: point out, often, they didn't put him on IR so
- 10:42Speaker 2: there was at one point of hope that he would
- 10:44Speaker 2: make it back much sooner. What is your What do
- 10:46Speaker 2: you make of it?
- 10:48Speaker 3: Yeah, it's I'm a little surprised because I know they
- 10:52Speaker 3: were very optimistic to start the week. Now was that
- 10:55Speaker 3: they know about the weather forecast, whatever the case may be.
- 10:58Speaker 3: He didn't even practice. To Kobe Dean, we knew it
- 11:00Speaker 3: wasn't gonna play. That was never in question. The lane
- 11:03Speaker 3: playing was like, hey, there was some optimism. He's not
- 11:06Speaker 3: gonna play. Fred Johnson'll start for him again. And for
- 11:09Speaker 3: those those people say, oh, they can't win a game
- 11:10Speaker 3: of that lane, they've won games of that lane, but
- 11:12Speaker 3: it's harder. You'd like to have them in a game
- 11:14Speaker 3: like this. Sure, do you know what you need for
- 11:16Speaker 3: the long haul?
- 11:17Speaker 1: Uh?
- 11:17Speaker 3: And the Kobe Dean?
- 11:18Speaker 1: Uh?
- 11:19Speaker 3: Greg did you? And Greg did the inside of the
- 11:21Speaker 3: tape show? So I know you guys talked about John Campbell.
- 11:24Speaker 3: But Jahab will start again and that's where they're at now.
- 11:27Speaker 3: I guess the positive news is when you look at
- 11:30Speaker 3: their injury situation A J. Brown with the wisdom teeth removed.
- 11:33Speaker 3: I know that kind of freaked people out. He's cleared.
- 11:35Speaker 3: He's cleared. Oh, Jalen Carter will return, He'll be in
- 11:39Speaker 3: the lineup. That's huge. I need to mention that very big. Yeah,
- 11:42Speaker 3: that's big. Oh this is now, this is not big,
- 11:45Speaker 3: but it's noteworthy. We talked last week. Don't just assume
- 11:49Speaker 3: that cam Latto will be playing because stingers, you don't
- 11:53Speaker 3: know when you're gonna have a reoccurrence, when you have
- 11:55Speaker 3: a problem with it, when you can lose the feeling
- 11:58Speaker 3: as he was cleared for the game unless something happens
- 12:01Speaker 3: in pregame. He's playing so that they're going to get
- 12:04Speaker 3: him back. And you know, in a game like this
- 12:06Speaker 3: most likely be heavy twelve personnel, maybe some thirteen and
- 12:10Speaker 3: that's it. So that would be it for the Eagles.
- 12:12Speaker 3: So it's know to Kobe, Dean and no Lane, Johnson.
- 12:15Speaker 2: Well poor landon Dickerson, you know he's he I know
- 12:17Speaker 2: he was a full practice participant on Friday, but he's
- 12:20Speaker 2: been battling an illness. This guy has battled something, whether
- 12:24Speaker 2: it's an ailment or an illness or an.
- 12:26Speaker 1: Injury, all year long.
- 12:28Speaker 2: But he will play, expected to play against the Bills,
- 12:31Speaker 2: and that's that's the main thing. You know, obviously known
- 12:33Speaker 2: n Kobe, no Lane, I think not having na Kobe
- 12:36Speaker 2: against a team like this. And what's interesting, Greg is
- 12:39Speaker 2: I wonder how he would have been deployed same old,
- 12:41Speaker 2: same old do most teams?
- 12:43Speaker 1: Do you think VIC would even have spied Josh Allen.
- 12:48Speaker 4: Question he's in the run game because Aaron Cromer is
- 12:50Speaker 4: one of the best O line coaches in the league,
- 12:52Speaker 4: and the Bills have a very multiple run game and
- 12:55Speaker 4: they do a lot with motion. They're the highest percentage
- 12:59Speaker 4: motion I should say pre snap movement. They're the highest
- 13:02Speaker 4: percentage pre snap movement team in the NFL. And most
- 13:05Speaker 4: people think about that in terms of the pass game,
- 13:08Speaker 4: but it's actually a bigger deal in the run game.
- 13:10Speaker 4: So I think that's where Nacobe Dean being out could
- 13:13Speaker 4: be a bigger deal because there's so much recognition that
- 13:16Speaker 4: goes into that and that's where campb I'm not saying
- 13:19Speaker 4: Campbell will or won't, we don't know the answer to that,
- 13:22Speaker 4: but he's still a rookie. And that's one reason that
- 13:25Speaker 4: when Dean got healthy, he in a central place Campbell
- 13:28Speaker 4: because Nakobe Dean is really good at understanding the game
- 13:32Speaker 4: and seeing what needs to be seen. And so I
- 13:36Speaker 4: think you'll see that. It's not a matter of going
- 13:39Speaker 4: after Campbell, you know, but it's the fact that they
- 13:42Speaker 4: do so much movement before the snap of the ball,
- 13:44Speaker 4: with a very multiple run game, a lot of different
- 13:47Speaker 4: concepts that it does put a lot of mental pressure
- 13:50Speaker 4: on second level players.
- 13:52Speaker 2: Is it similar to the Rams? Is it like facing
- 13:55Speaker 2: the Rams offense with the it's actually.
- 13:57Speaker 4: More diverse in terms of the run game, not a
- 14:00Speaker 4: super diverse because their backs are not super diverse. With
- 14:03Speaker 4: their skill sets, good Point can run anything.
- 14:07Speaker 1: Mm hmm.
- 14:07Speaker 4: So it's it's a very diverse run game. And like
- 14:10Speaker 4: I said, Aaron Cromer, this is not his first rodeo either,
- 14:13Speaker 4: So I mean he's he's about a twenty five year
- 14:15Speaker 4: NFL coach and he's a really good online coach.
- 14:19Speaker 1: Got it all right? So for the Bills, most of
- 14:21Speaker 1: their offense, most of their injuries are going to affect
- 14:25Speaker 1: their defense. But the big name was Josh Allen, who
- 14:27Speaker 1: was dealing with a foot injury from their game against
- 14:31Speaker 1: Cleveland last week. He was limited earlier in the week.
- 14:34Speaker 1: He did practice in full. He's good to go, He's
- 14:39Speaker 1: gonna play.
- 14:40Speaker 4: Question is I saw they had some guys listed. His
- 14:42Speaker 4: questionabout Adam kincaid that the Knox, what do you know,
- 14:45Speaker 4: what the deal is?
- 14:46Speaker 3: Yeah, so they're there. It's sort of like a game
- 14:49Speaker 3: day thing. Got to get through pregame warm ups. And
- 14:51Speaker 3: these guys have had injuries. Knox has had a big
- 14:53Speaker 3: injury situation in his career as you know, and then
- 14:57Speaker 3: Kad has had this knee issue off and on, and.
- 15:00Speaker 4: You guys can't go. They're going to be calling you
- 15:01Speaker 4: to play tight end.
- 15:02Speaker 3: Well, it's funny because the kid that they're going to
- 15:04Speaker 3: play like he would back up, who's a y tenn
- 15:07Speaker 3: and Jackson Hawes, I it's it's this is this like,
- 15:10Speaker 3: it's funny. I had not known about him til I
- 15:12Speaker 3: asked my buddy who had his Area'll tell.
- 15:14Speaker 4: You some he's done well for them. He's a terrific blocker. Yeah,
- 15:17Speaker 4: he's become a little bit better receiver than people thought
- 15:19Speaker 4: he would be because coming out of Georgia Tech, no
- 15:22Speaker 4: one really viewed him as a receiver. But he's but
- 15:25Speaker 4: he I mean, he's certainly not Kincaid, not even Knocks,
- 15:28Speaker 4: but he's become a little better than than people I
- 15:30Speaker 4: think thought he could be, certainly as a rookie.
- 15:33Speaker 1: Sure it is important to know Jackson Hawks.
- 15:36Speaker 3: Yeah, yep, that's.
- 15:40Speaker 1: Kinkaid and Knocks. Both the tight ends that we're talking
- 15:44Speaker 1: about did get some work in on Friday. They were
- 15:47Speaker 1: limited and they're both listening as questionable. You heard out
- 15:50Speaker 1: them say game time decision. What they'll do probably do
- 15:53Speaker 1: is warm up on the field and make a decision
- 15:55Speaker 1: from there.
- 15:56Speaker 3: I would think one of them will go, But greg
- 15:59Speaker 3: are they are they a heavy We know years ago
- 16:02Speaker 3: they were heavy eleven? Are they heavy twelve?
- 16:05Speaker 4: Not heavy twelve? But there they play a lot with
- 16:07Speaker 4: the full back Gilliam forty one oh yeah, twenty one personnel.
- 16:12Speaker 4: They'll play twenty two personnel. Gilliam is a pretty significant
- 16:15Speaker 4: part of their run game. A lot of their run
- 16:17Speaker 4: game concepts feature Gilliam.
- 16:19Speaker 1: He's pretty good too, correct, I mean he is.
- 16:22Speaker 4: So yes, he's very googie. So what does that mean
- 16:25Speaker 4: for the Eagles? Does that mean the Eagles will be
- 16:27Speaker 4: in base and that means the Gene will be playing
- 16:29Speaker 4: outside corner and they'll be in there five to two front.
- 16:32Speaker 4: It could well mean that, you know, you never know
- 16:34Speaker 4: with Vic how he sees all this, but they could
- 16:37Speaker 4: very well mean that because they play a good amount
- 16:40Speaker 4: out of base personnel groupings.
- 16:42Speaker 1: Boy, this has a a making of a real kind
- 16:46Speaker 1: of nineties eighty. You know, running in the mud and
- 16:49Speaker 1: the weather.
- 16:51Speaker 4: You know, there's probably not going to be a ton
- 16:53Speaker 4: of throwing if the weather's or certainly throwing down the field.
- 16:56Speaker 4: Let's put it that.
- 16:56Speaker 1: Way right now.
- 16:58Speaker 3: Greg.
- 16:58Speaker 1: On defense, the Bills will be without defensive tackle Daikwon Jones,
- 17:03Speaker 1: Penn Stater, and defensive tackle Jordan Phillips. Both are out
- 17:06Speaker 1: Phillips as an ankle, Daqua as a calf.
- 17:09Speaker 4: So so you're gonna get the two guys a lot
- 17:11Speaker 4: of snaps, Dean Walker and TJ. Standers, and they both
- 17:15Speaker 4: played well, you know this year as rookies. Walker I
- 17:19Speaker 4: remember doing Walker in the summer he was still going
- 17:24Speaker 4: back to Kentucky for one more year, and his tape
- 17:27Speaker 4: his next to last season. He had the look of
- 17:29Speaker 4: a guy that if he had a great last year,
- 17:32Speaker 4: could be a first round pick because he's six seven,
- 17:35Speaker 4: he's athletic, he has light feet for a guy that size.
- 17:38Speaker 4: And then he just did not have a great senior
- 17:40Speaker 4: season and he dropped to the fourth round. But he's
- 17:43Speaker 4: had a good year, solid year. And TJ. Sanders, who
- 17:46Speaker 4: was ended up being the second round pick. He's kind
- 17:49Speaker 4: of a quicker three technique type player. In fact, they
- 17:52Speaker 4: lined him up at times at the end when Bosa
- 17:55Speaker 4: did not play, because he has that kind of quickness.
- 17:57Speaker 4: But I think they see him as a three technique
- 17:59Speaker 4: d tackle.
- 18:00Speaker 3: You know, he's on the roster, but they really don't
- 18:03Speaker 3: play him. We're playing very much, if at all. Larry
- 18:06Speaker 3: Ogunjobi's still there. They for whatever reason, he's buried on
- 18:09Speaker 3: their depth chart.
- 18:09Speaker 4: There's pay a lot of money because of the two
- 18:11Speaker 4: guys being out.
- 18:12Speaker 3: Yeah, they're gonna he's gonna have to play. I mean
- 18:14Speaker 3: they're down too many. They're actually down technically three to three.
- 18:17Speaker 1: Right right, because Oliver is still not ready to come back.
- 18:21Speaker 4: Yeah he won't.
- 18:23Speaker 3: Yeah, McDermot made it pretty clear, depending on how deep
- 18:26Speaker 3: they go, he'll be available. So you said it best, Jeff.
- 18:30Speaker 3: The Eagles want to be a running team. You know
- 18:31Speaker 3: it's coming. If we mentioned the weather they have.
- 18:34Speaker 4: Who's gonna get a lot of snaps. And I remember
- 18:37Speaker 4: him coming out of Alabama and I liked him, and
- 18:40Speaker 4: you know this is probably his second Daryan.
- 18:43Speaker 3: Mathis ye never made.
- 18:45Speaker 4: Yeah, I liked him coming out of Alabama. I thought
- 18:48Speaker 4: he could be a solid rotational d tackle and I
- 18:51Speaker 4: guess we're gonna find out this week if he can
- 18:52Speaker 4: be a solid rotational tackle.
- 18:55Speaker 2: Hey, just imagine what we would say about the Eagles
- 18:57Speaker 2: if they were in one game down Jaylen Carter, Jordan
- 19:00Speaker 2: Davis and Moro A. Joel Because I'm not trying to
- 19:03Speaker 2: say these three are just as good. But the Bills
- 19:05Speaker 2: are down their three top defensive tackles.
- 19:08Speaker 1: Correct.
- 19:08Speaker 4: I mean they're also going to be without Jordan Poyer.
- 19:13Speaker 3: And without their safety. Yes, he was starting. Yeah, yeah,
- 19:16Speaker 3: he started for Taylor Rap. Yeah. So they're down to safeties, Jeff, So.
- 19:19Speaker 4: You're gonna get the rookie Jordan Hancock from Ohio State
- 19:21Speaker 4: who has played meaningful snaps for them, But he's gonna
- 19:25Speaker 4: end up playing, I would imagine, instead of Ployer.
- 19:28Speaker 3: Actually, kim Lewis, is cam Lewis and m Lewis.
- 19:31Speaker 4: Play there as well, no question, that's a good point
- 19:33Speaker 4: at him. He could be actually, he could be the starter.
- 19:36Speaker 4: Hancock has played in a lot of their nickel and
- 19:38Speaker 4: pure pass situations, but cam Lewis could well be the starter.
- 19:42Speaker 4: He's been there for a number of years. He knows
- 19:44Speaker 4: the defense.
- 19:44Speaker 3: Well, let me use a question about Matt Mlone. He's
- 19:47Speaker 3: had a number of biceps injury, you know, all sorts
- 19:49Speaker 3: of injuries with his arms. But he's been a I
- 19:52Speaker 3: know in the past he was really good. Where's he
- 19:54Speaker 3: out at this point? Are you talking about Matt Mlone?
- 19:57Speaker 3: What does he look like to you these days?
- 19:58Speaker 4: Has played well the last number of but he's been
- 20:01Speaker 4: injured so much but he's played much better the last
- 20:03Speaker 4: couple of weeks. There was a stretch there a couple
- 20:05Speaker 4: of years ago where I thought he was one of
- 20:07Speaker 4: the best linebackers in the league as a guy who
- 20:09Speaker 4: have played every snap.
- 20:11Speaker 2: M All right, So that's who they'll be without, and last,
- 20:15Speaker 2: but not least, Adam who's gonna be kicking for the Bills.
- 20:17Speaker 3: Well, okay, so this is they're down to they're down.
- 20:23Speaker 3: Look there, Matt Prater didn't practice this week. It's highly
- 20:27Speaker 3: unlikely he's gonna play, So now it I guess it'll Well,
- 20:33Speaker 3: you know what's funny when I look at it, They
- 20:35Speaker 3: tried out the Bills tried out three kickers. Young Waiku
- 20:39Speaker 3: was the best one. They didn't sign him, So to me,
- 20:44Speaker 3: the other it's gonna have to be Michael Badgley again
- 20:46Speaker 3: because they have nobody else. Said talk about a journeyman
- 20:48Speaker 3: kicker you might remember from the Chargers and the Lions. Yeah,
- 20:51Speaker 3: so it's gonna be badly and you're talking about this
- 20:54Speaker 3: kind of weather and Jake Ellio's got to get himself together,
- 20:57Speaker 3: and we don't talk about special teams very much. We
- 20:59Speaker 3: know Jake is done well in the weather, but that's
- 21:01Speaker 3: not the issue right now. He's got a technique issue
- 21:04Speaker 3: which has got to be cleaned up and fixed asap.
- 21:07Speaker 2: This could be a kicking optional game where if the
- 21:10Speaker 2: weather and the overall state of your kickers, you may
- 21:12Speaker 2: want to go for two if you can, if you
- 21:15Speaker 2: feel like you're more comfortable. Clearly that's what Nick Sirehanni
- 21:18Speaker 2: did there. Yeah, I mean he can talk about the
- 21:20Speaker 2: analytics all he wants. Yeah, I'm not really buying it.
- 21:23Speaker 2: I think he was just trying to take some pressure
- 21:26Speaker 2: off of his kicker against the Commanders when he went for.
- 21:28Speaker 1: It for two there.
- 21:29Speaker 2: So this should be an interesting game again, two similar
- 21:32Speaker 2: teams offensively, Greg, I would think that because we've seen
- 21:38Speaker 2: two different versions of the Eagles offense stylistically and formationally
- 21:41Speaker 2: last two weeks. They wanted to play spread, they wanted
- 21:45Speaker 2: to pass the ball last week against the Commanders. The
- 21:47Speaker 2: week before, they wanted to play ground and pound with
- 21:49Speaker 2: thirteen personnel against the Raiders, with the weather, with the Bills,
- 21:53Speaker 2: with what's at stake here, I would think as we
- 21:56Speaker 2: analyze this game, I would think the Eagles would be
- 21:58Speaker 2: tend to.
- 21:59Speaker 1: Go back to trying to run the ball out of
- 22:00Speaker 1: some heavy sets.
- 22:01Speaker 4: What do you think, Yeah, I mean, it's always hard
- 22:03Speaker 4: to know. And again it's hard to know how the
- 22:06Speaker 4: weather will affect, you know, how they play. I mean, yeah,
- 22:09Speaker 4: they're saying rain. Maybe there'll be a stretch where it's
- 22:11Speaker 4: drizzling and that poor you know, you never know. But
- 22:14Speaker 4: you know, the thing that I feel when I watched them, Look,
- 22:17Speaker 4: there's no question that you go back to a year ago,
- 22:20Speaker 4: and more so the last three games than earlier in
- 22:23Speaker 4: the season, when they couldn't run the ball, that they
- 22:26Speaker 4: pretty much at their best line up and they run
- 22:28Speaker 4: the ball. There's no gimmicks, they line up, they run
- 22:31Speaker 4: the ball. But they to me, they're so good when
- 22:35Speaker 4: they go no huddle, and they go no huddle after
- 22:39Speaker 4: positive plays and it's almost always an eleven personnel, and
- 22:43Speaker 4: I think they're really good when they're in empty formations
- 22:46Speaker 4: as well. Now that's obviously game specific, and like you said, Jeff,
- 22:51Speaker 4: and you could be one hundred percent right, the weather
- 22:54Speaker 4: may be such that it's a game to just line
- 22:56Speaker 4: up and grind away and see how it plays. You know,
- 23:00Speaker 4: with the belief that their defense can hold the Bills down,
- 23:03Speaker 4: because the Bills just do not have a lot of
- 23:04Speaker 4: weapons that if they can shut down their run game,
- 23:07Speaker 4: then where do the Bills go from there? You know,
- 23:10Speaker 4: because it's you know, I love the argument to me about, well,
- 23:15Speaker 4: Josh Allen is Superman, and of course he can be.
- 23:18Speaker 4: We've seen that enough in his career that we know
- 23:20Speaker 4: he can be. He's so physically gifted. But you know,
- 23:25Speaker 4: I guarantee they don't go into a game with the
- 23:27Speaker 4: idea that, hey, you know, let's play so Josh can
- 23:30Speaker 4: be Superman in the fourth quarter. You know, that's not
- 23:33Speaker 4: the way they're thinking about the game. And that doesn't
- 23:35Speaker 4: happen all the time. It can't. It's it's just percentage
- 23:38Speaker 4: why is not the way to play. So it wouldn't
- 23:40Speaker 4: surprise me to your point if the Eagles take what
- 23:43Speaker 4: you said, and that could be a function of the
- 23:46Speaker 4: weather and the conditions, but I just I feel they
- 23:49Speaker 4: do so many good things out of no huddle on
- 23:51Speaker 4: at a empty that I'd like to see them continue
- 23:54Speaker 4: to do that.
- 23:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean that would be if they came out
- 23:59Speaker 1: and had the same kind of attack plan that they
- 24:01Speaker 1: did against the Commanders.
- 24:04Speaker 2: I think it would be surprising. But you're right, so
- 24:06Speaker 2: that that's that has helped them get to where they
- 24:09Speaker 2: want to be. And I'll tell you're running no hell
- 24:11Speaker 2: and getting the run game going.
- 24:12Speaker 4: I'll tell you why. I think that's a good thing.
- 24:14Speaker 4: Because one thing Adam made the point that the Bills
- 24:16Speaker 4: are very well coached, and they are. And one thing
- 24:19Speaker 4: Sean McDermott does as well as anybody in the league
- 24:22Speaker 4: is he changes the picture pre snap to post snap.
- 24:25Speaker 4: So when you go no huddle, and you do and
- 24:27Speaker 4: you go in empty formations, you limit the ability of
- 24:31Speaker 4: the defense to change the picture pre snap to post snap.
- 24:34Speaker 4: Sean is a master of late rotation, showing you one
- 24:37Speaker 4: thing and then going to something else. And you know,
- 24:41Speaker 4: obviously if there's no huddle, you can't do that as much.
- 24:44Speaker 4: You minimize communication and and and changes. So again, if
- 24:49Speaker 4: this was normal weather, I'd say they definitely would look
- 24:51Speaker 4: at no huddle as a way to approach this Bill's defense.
- 24:55Speaker 4: But maybe it's maybe it's not the best way to
- 24:57Speaker 4: go if the weather's terrible.
- 25:00Speaker 2: So they have one of the better The Bills have
- 25:02Speaker 2: one of the better nickels in the league. And Terrell
- 25:04Speaker 2: Bernard correct, I mean Johnson Johnson, I didn't mean, yeah.
- 25:09Speaker 4: Well funny because the Bills until about a year or
- 25:11Speaker 4: so ago, were ninety nickel defense. They literally played nickel
- 25:16Speaker 4: almost every snap unless it was a specific situation. And
- 25:20Speaker 4: now they've changed pretty dramatically. Uh, they don't play nickel
- 25:24Speaker 4: every snap. In fact that they play a lot of
- 25:26Speaker 4: dime when it comes to pure pass. Uh, they'll play
- 25:28Speaker 4: bass depending on what the offense shows them. So we'll see. Uh.
- 25:33Speaker 4: But yeah, they used to be. I mean that was
- 25:36Speaker 4: sort of the thing. It was wonderful watching their defense
- 25:38Speaker 4: because they never changed personnel. I don't have it was
- 25:41Speaker 4: on the field. It was always by the way I.
- 25:45Speaker 3: Got I might as well ask you this, what do
- 25:46Speaker 3: you in the matchup show this week? What are you
- 25:49Speaker 3: guys focusing on on this game?
- 25:51Speaker 4: Well, Darius to James Cook because it's obvious, Butler, you know,
- 25:55Speaker 4: and uh, and I did believe it or not, I
- 25:57Speaker 4: did empty and and uh and no huddle because I think,
- 26:02Speaker 4: you know, even if it doesn't you know, again, I
- 26:04Speaker 4: didn't know the weather forecast at the time, you know,
- 26:06Speaker 4: And and that wasn't the first thing on my mind.
- 26:08Speaker 4: But I think that that's something that the Eagles do well.
- 26:11Speaker 4: And you know, it wouldn't surprise me if you see
- 26:13Speaker 4: more of it, even if it's not this week.
- 26:15Speaker 3: Gotcha?
- 26:16Speaker 1: Okay, interesting, It was kind of interesting to see the
- 26:19Speaker 1: Eagles use as much spread and no huddle, you know,
- 26:23Speaker 1: get up tempo and and still I feel like eighty
- 26:27Speaker 1: percent of the offense was still funneled through A J.
- 26:30Speaker 1: Brown and even a little bit of Goddard.
- 26:34Speaker 2: In fact, I think there was one play where John
- 26:36Speaker 2: Dotson got targeted and I thought to myself, I don't
- 26:39Speaker 2: think John Dotson's got a target since the the interception
- 26:42Speaker 2: at the end of the Chargers.
- 26:45Speaker 1: Yeah, that's true. Yeah, but since the war, those guys, yeah,
- 26:49Speaker 1: they get a longer.
- 26:52Speaker 2: No, it's just it's just it's every once in a
- 26:55Speaker 2: while those guys get a Nothing really changes other than
- 26:58Speaker 2: how they move the ball and get their to get
- 27:00Speaker 2: up tempo.
- 27:00Speaker 1: But it's the offensive.
- 27:01Speaker 4: At the end of the day. We can say what
- 27:03Speaker 4: we want about the Eagles offense, and I think Greg
- 27:06Speaker 4: Olsen spoke about this during the Commander's game. They have
- 27:09Speaker 4: really good talent, so their offense is better than people
- 27:13Speaker 4: think in terms of personnel. Like, we know they didn't
- 27:15Speaker 4: play well for a good part of the season. We
- 27:17Speaker 4: get that, but at the end of the day. They've
- 27:19Speaker 4: got a lot of talent on offense. I mean, they've
- 27:22Speaker 4: got a wide receiver duo that's certainly in the top
- 27:25Speaker 4: five in the league. We can debate where it falls.
- 27:27Speaker 4: Maybe it's top three. You know, it's certainly right there.
- 27:31Speaker 4: They've got a quality tight end. Okay, they've got Barkley.
- 27:35Speaker 4: I mean, they have a lot of talent on the
- 27:37Speaker 4: offensive side of the ball. So it's not like, oh
- 27:40Speaker 4: my god, they don't have players, you know, it's so
- 27:43Speaker 4: it's they can make individual plays. That's the thing. Greg.
- 27:49Speaker 3: Let me ask you this question, and we're on the offense.
- 27:51Speaker 3: We'll get to the defense of the second. We've talked
- 27:54Speaker 3: for a number of weeks. E goals want their identity
- 27:55Speaker 3: to be the run game. Okay, we see that, right,
- 27:57Speaker 3: They're getting the passing game together. How do you feel
- 27:59Speaker 3: about this offensive overall right now as we speak before.
- 28:02Speaker 4: This game, Beagles offense overall, Yeah, I feel like they're
- 28:06Speaker 4: incrementally moving toward the way they were a year ago.
- 28:10Speaker 4: And my sense is, without being in their meetings obviously,
- 28:14Speaker 4: that that's the way they believe they have to play,
- 28:17Speaker 4: because I think, what did we talk about a lot
- 28:20Speaker 4: last year, and I spoke to you guys about this
- 28:22Speaker 4: even after the season, about how they be when they're
- 28:25Speaker 4: at their best. They're a four down offense. It allows
- 28:28Speaker 4: them to use the run game on third and long.
- 28:30Speaker 4: When I say third long, maybe third and six to
- 28:32Speaker 4: eight obviously not third and twelve. You know, it allows
- 28:35Speaker 4: them to run the ball on third and seven because
- 28:37Speaker 4: if they get to fourth and two and they're let's
- 28:39Speaker 4: say from the minus forty five going into you know,
- 28:42Speaker 4: plus territory, that if it's fourth and two, they're going
- 28:45Speaker 4: to go for and they convert. So, you know, I
- 28:48Speaker 4: think that they're moving in that direction, and I think
- 28:51Speaker 4: that's the way they know they have to play, and
- 28:53Speaker 4: I think that allows Jalen Hurts to be his most
- 28:56Speaker 4: effective because I think, you know, even though they had
- 28:59Speaker 4: thirty seven dropbacks last week, I think the feeling would
- 29:03Speaker 4: probably be that that's not the way they want to play.
- 29:06Speaker 4: I would think they probably want him to be between
- 29:08Speaker 4: twenty five and twenty eight in a normal game and
- 29:11Speaker 4: to have the run game BA dominating fan and also
- 29:14Speaker 4: as part of their offense, have Jalen Hurtz have some
- 29:16Speaker 4: design runs which they've started starting to incrementally move toward
- 29:20Speaker 4: as well, so I think they're kind of gradually moving
- 29:24Speaker 4: toward what I believe they believe is the best way
- 29:28Speaker 4: to play.
- 29:28Speaker 1: Hey, I still like a good night out, but I'm
- 29:30Speaker 1: not always in the mood to drink, and that's why

- 33:08Speaker 1: an experience made for Philly fans twenty one and.
- 33:11Speaker 2: Up, Greg, would you the Bills have one of those
- 33:14Speaker 2: hybrid you know, statistical defenses where they ranked twenty ninth
- 33:17Speaker 2: against the run, allowing one hundred and forty four yards
- 33:20Speaker 2: per game. But but conversely they are second in pass defense.
- 33:24Speaker 2: So is it that there are pass defense only looks
- 33:28Speaker 2: good because people run against them, or are they a
- 33:30Speaker 2: tough team to pass the ball against and an easy
- 33:33Speaker 2: team to run against.
- 33:34Speaker 4: It's a really odd dichotomy. They are because they've given
- 33:37Speaker 4: up one hundred and eighty five or more yards rushing
- 33:39Speaker 4: in six games this year, and believe it or not,
- 33:41Speaker 4: there four and two in those games and the rest
- 33:43Speaker 4: of the league is like four and twenty eight. You know,
- 33:45Speaker 4: it's some really odd stat you know, you know their
- 33:51Speaker 4: past defense. Look, it's very odd. And I'm not sure
- 33:55Speaker 4: exactly the answer to that, Jeff, because you know, it's
- 33:59Speaker 4: been one of those seasons and it's just the way
- 34:02Speaker 4: it is where they've made big plays at opportune moments. Now,
- 34:08Speaker 4: you know, every team says they want to do that,
- 34:10Speaker 4: and when you do it, it looks great. But you know,
- 34:14Speaker 4: it's it's just an odd thing. I mean, you know,
- 34:17Speaker 4: and don't forget, it's not like they've been way up
- 34:19Speaker 4: in games in the second half. And the other hand,
- 34:21Speaker 4: you know, that's the other thing. You know, in years
- 34:23Speaker 4: past they would be up big a lot of times
- 34:25Speaker 4: in the second half and teams would have to throw,
- 34:27Speaker 4: and teams would put up some passing numbers and the
- 34:29Speaker 4: Bills would still win. But they've been behind in a
- 34:33Speaker 4: number of games this year that they've actually some they've
- 34:36Speaker 4: come back to win, some they haven't. But the other
- 34:38Speaker 4: team has not been in a position where they've just
- 34:41Speaker 4: got to drop back and throw the way it's been
- 34:43Speaker 4: with Buffalo the last number of years.
- 34:45Speaker 2: Right, last thing on the defense is, I know the
- 34:48Speaker 2: Eagles really liked that corner out of Kentucky. Maxwell Marson Harriston. Yeah,
- 34:52Speaker 2: they just they knew he would never be there where
- 34:53Speaker 2: they picked. How has he played and does he play
- 34:56Speaker 2: a lot for them?
- 34:58Speaker 4: Yeah, Bedford missed a couple of games and he started. Uh.
- 35:02Speaker 4: Now he's part of a rotation. It depends on the
- 35:04Speaker 4: game because they have Bedford and White, and Bedford normally
- 35:08Speaker 4: plays every snap. So normally Harston rotates with White, and
- 35:12Speaker 4: it depends on the game and the opponent. You know,
- 35:15Speaker 4: it's very possible this week you could see more White
- 35:18Speaker 4: because he's a veteran. He understands how to play against
- 35:20Speaker 4: Smith and Brown. Doesn't mean he's going to stop them,
- 35:23Speaker 4: but he understands how to play against them just from
- 35:25Speaker 4: being a veteran who was once a true All Pro
- 35:27Speaker 4: type player. He's not quite that guy now.
- 35:30Speaker 3: For people scoring at home, Yes, yes, yeah, so.
- 35:34Speaker 4: I would say Harston will probably be a rotation player.
- 35:36Speaker 4: I would think, barring an injury, he'll probably play in
- 35:38Speaker 4: the twenty snap range.
- 35:40Speaker 2: Okay, is Benford the kid that went to Yale Nova?
- 35:44Speaker 3: That's right, Nova Nova, Okay, represented by Jim Ulrich.
- 35:51Speaker 4: They signed him to a big deal. I mean they
- 35:53Speaker 4: they believe in him. Yeah, good play by going to
- 35:57Speaker 4: be a really good player, they say, Bishops the safety, Yeah,
- 36:00Speaker 4: the second to be a good player. Yeah, he's a
- 36:02Speaker 4: good player now, but I think he can just get
- 36:04Speaker 4: better and better too.
- 36:05Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 36:05Speaker 2: So the Bills are clearly hurting in their defensive interior,
- 36:09Speaker 2: down three tackles. But they've got some linebackers we know
- 36:11Speaker 2: about Milano, They've got some the nickel that we talked
- 36:14Speaker 2: about Toron Johnson, you know, and they've got some guys
- 36:16Speaker 2: in the secondary.
- 36:17Speaker 4: Jack Thompson out or is he? Yeah?
- 36:19Speaker 3: He? I was just gonna mention Shaq Thompson. Shaq Thompson, No, No,
- 36:25Speaker 3: he practiced because.
- 36:26Speaker 4: He's had a really good season for them. He's actually
- 36:29Speaker 4: been a revelation. He's had a really good season.
- 36:33Speaker 1: I imagine he's subpackaged specific.
- 36:36Speaker 4: Uh no, Well, don't forget Bernard was out for quite
- 36:39Speaker 4: a while and he came back last week. So Thompson
- 36:42Speaker 4: was playing every snap for a number of weeks. Wow,
- 36:45Speaker 4: I don't know what that again. Now it comes down
- 36:47Speaker 4: to are the Eagles going to be in base? Are
- 36:49Speaker 4: they going to be in eleven? You know? Now we
- 36:52Speaker 4: don't know the answer to.
- 36:53Speaker 1: That, right And who's gonna be on a j brown
- 36:57Speaker 1: Are they going to keep one guy on the.
- 36:59Speaker 4: Back normally not match up. They normally don't. Again does
- 37:04Speaker 4: that you know? You never know, but they normally do not.
- 37:08Speaker 1: So who would normally then line up on that side
- 37:11Speaker 1: if he's your boundary acts boundary.
- 37:14Speaker 3: At first the left corner, that's right.
- 37:17Speaker 4: Yeah, Okay, sometimes they play boundary and field. Sometimes they don't.
- 37:23Speaker 4: I've tried to figure that out, and I just sometimes
- 37:27Speaker 4: I just throw my hands up and say, you know,
- 37:29Speaker 4: I'm I'm I'm done trying to figure this out.
- 37:36Speaker 1: All right, Well, let's talk about the Eagles defense against
- 37:39Speaker 1: this This Bill's offense is so strange. You know, ever
- 37:42Speaker 1: since they let they moved on from Diggs Stefan Diggs,
- 37:46Speaker 1: they've really tried to, in some way or another bring
- 37:49Speaker 1: in different wide receivers, right. Uh, you know, they brought
- 37:52Speaker 1: in Palmer, and they brought in they traded for Marii
- 37:56Speaker 1: Cooper a year or two ago.
- 37:57Speaker 2: I didn't really give them what they want. They always
- 37:59Speaker 2: just seem to have a different cast of guys out there.
- 38:02Speaker 2: They drafted Kean Coleman and he barely plays.
- 38:04Speaker 4: He and Gabe Davis, who are healthy scratches. Last week.
- 38:09Speaker 1: Yeah, so they struggled.
- 38:11Speaker 4: Yeah, you know, it's funny, Jeff. They actually have enough depth.
- 38:14Speaker 3: The problem is they don't have at a level receiver
- 38:18Speaker 3: m And Look, it's working with James, There's no question
- 38:21Speaker 3: about it. Klail has been a really nice story of
- 38:23Speaker 3: development for a fifth round pick. But they need a playmaker.
- 38:27Speaker 3: Curtis Samuel never worked out. He's he's on ir. Josh Palmer.
- 38:31Speaker 3: You've always liked Josh Palmer's more of like a three.
- 38:35Speaker 4: He's been in and out of the lineup.
- 38:37Speaker 3: He's been hurt too.
- 38:37Speaker 4: Yeah, they just you know, at some point in this
- 38:40Speaker 4: league you need a receiver who can line up outside
- 38:42Speaker 4: the numbers. Whether it's a boundary X or if it's
- 38:44Speaker 4: a two by two set, you need a receiver outside
- 38:47Speaker 4: the numbers who can win one all one. They do
- 38:50Speaker 4: not really have that guy. That's really limiture pass game,
- 38:53Speaker 4: no matter how good your quarterback is.
- 38:55Speaker 3: Did you think did you like, let's leave the off
- 38:57Speaker 3: the football character stuff on the side here from a
- 39:00Speaker 3: football standpoint, from tape study, did you like Coleman?
- 39:03Speaker 4: I was up and down on him. I kept going
- 39:05Speaker 4: back and forth. So it did not surprise me as
- 39:08Speaker 4: to where he was drafted. You know, He's not a
- 39:10Speaker 4: juicy guy, and I don't think anybody thought he was.
- 39:13Speaker 4: You know, he doesn't have he's not twitch, he's not explosive.
- 39:17Speaker 4: But sometimes those guys that can that can just catch
- 39:20Speaker 4: the ball and you know, are end up being good players.
- 39:24Speaker 4: You know, I'm trying to think of a comparison a
- 39:26Speaker 4: guy who's not necessarily, you know, a sub athlete. I
- 39:32Speaker 4: can't think of one offhand. But the the bottom line
- 39:36Speaker 4: is those other issues are a big factor at him.
- 39:38Speaker 4: I mean, that's the that's the bottom line. I was
- 39:40Speaker 4: just curious from a football stat I mean, I could
- 39:43Speaker 4: go up what I said, but I remember that I
- 39:45Speaker 4: kept going back and forth on him in my mind.
- 39:47Speaker 3: No, because I know Jeff and I share notes on him.
- 39:49Speaker 3: But it was it was a lot of thumbs down,
- 39:52Speaker 3: a lot of thumbs down. It's not a separate right,
- 39:56Speaker 3: what's that second so twenty four draft? Yeah, second round, yep.
- 40:04Speaker 3: And they really did him, they really.
- 40:06Speaker 4: Yeah, Like I didn't think, oh my god, don't draft
- 40:08Speaker 4: this guy. His states terrible. It wasn't like that.
- 40:12Speaker 2: I just think when you look like over him, right
- 40:15Speaker 2: and you look at and you see Brandon Cooks and
- 40:18Speaker 2: Nicole Hardman, and Gabe days.
- 40:20Speaker 4: All right, my first my first two sentences would tell you,
- 40:24Speaker 4: and I wrote more because that's the way I do it,
- 40:26Speaker 4: as you guys know. But my first two sentences kind
- 40:29Speaker 4: of speak to where we are. I said, my senses
- 40:32Speaker 4: Coleman will be somewhat polarizing as teams project and transition
- 40:35Speaker 4: him to the NFL. He possesses excellent size and length,
- 40:38Speaker 4: which allowed him, at times with free access to cover
- 40:41Speaker 4: ground quickly into his vertical stem and attack the intermediate
- 40:44Speaker 4: and vertical level levels of the coverage. But he is
- 40:47Speaker 4: not sudden in his movement, and his overall play speed
- 40:50Speaker 4: would be described as average with no real burst or
- 40:53Speaker 4: second gear.
- 40:54Speaker 1: Hmm, so almost Yeah.
- 40:59Speaker 2: Who's the guy that the Saints had who was awesome
- 41:01Speaker 2: at that despite not being juicy Colston?
- 41:03Speaker 4: Right?
- 41:06Speaker 2: More man, you know, I mean, I don't want I
- 41:08Speaker 2: don't like making that correlation because Coulson was actually great, good,
- 41:11Speaker 2: really good.
- 41:12Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 41:13Speaker 4: But here here was my final, my final in my transition,
- 41:17Speaker 4: my final two sentences, my sense is there is more
- 41:20Speaker 4: to unlock with Coleman, and there is no question that
- 41:22Speaker 4: there is a looseness within his body that is there
- 41:25Speaker 4: to be developed. But it will likely take some time,
- 41:28Speaker 4: and it may never happen as he makes the transition
- 41:30Speaker 4: to the NFL. Can his size help compensate for some
- 41:33Speaker 4: of his athletical limitations and get him on the field
- 41:36Speaker 4: early in his career as a specific kind of receiver.
- 41:40Speaker 4: So I mean I was up and down on him.
- 41:42Speaker 4: I'm not surprised, let's put it that way.
- 41:44Speaker 3: Yeah, but here's the thing. The reason why he's not
- 41:47Speaker 3: playing is not it's it's the approach to his job.
- 41:50Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 41:51Speaker 3: Yeah, he's not getting it, Jeff, as we sent it
- 41:53Speaker 3: back to you. Yeah, and it's a shame because we've
- 41:55Speaker 3: just outlined it. They need him so barely as an
- 41:58Speaker 3: X receiver. I'll have one. It's hard man, like you
- 42:01Speaker 3: could they have death, but they don't have any big
- 42:03Speaker 3: time players that position. And if somehow the Eagles could
- 42:08Speaker 3: just limit Cook a little bit, I know Josh Allen's
- 42:11Speaker 3: dynamic and by the way, Eagles over time occasionally struggle
- 42:15Speaker 3: against running quarterbacks. That's something we saw what so Justin
- 42:20Speaker 3: Herbert did not. He's more of a scrambler. But that's
- 42:23Speaker 3: something in this game. I'm very interesting see without Nakobe Dean,
- 42:26Speaker 3: how their discipline is.
- 42:28Speaker 4: And the other factor too, is even though Josh Allen
- 42:30Speaker 4: is going to play and as a full participant, and
- 42:31Speaker 4: we know that he's one of the toughest guys in
- 42:33Speaker 4: the league. You know, he did come off a foot injury.
- 42:36Speaker 4: You know, he may think he may not want to
- 42:37Speaker 4: run his you don't know, we don't know how he feels. Yeah,
- 42:40Speaker 4: he's one of those guys that's gonna play unless you
- 42:42Speaker 4: got a will and ount and will.
- 42:43Speaker 3: Yeah. Yeah, it's a very fair point. And he did
- 42:46Speaker 3: have actually which were negative during the game and he
- 42:49Speaker 3: was fine. Trum mc dermott, I think I don't. I
- 42:52Speaker 3: don't think they had any further testing. He just knew
- 42:53Speaker 3: he could play through it and he was fine.
- 42:55Speaker 4: Yeah, they just limited him in practice until you know today,
- 42:57Speaker 4: which Friday, which I guess he was a full part two.
- 43:02Speaker 4: You never know, we'll see that.
- 43:03Speaker 3: That something to look for on Sunny early in the game.
- 43:05Speaker 2: How he moves, yeah, yeah, Greg, How does the how
- 43:08Speaker 2: does the Eagles d line, which has played well even
- 43:10Speaker 2: without Jalen Carter who's now coming back.
- 43:12Speaker 1: And by the way, really interesting comments that Jalen Carter
- 43:15Speaker 1: had to the media. I mean he said it got
- 43:18Speaker 1: to the point where he was not able to do
- 43:19Speaker 1: push ups. He is feeling a lot better now, but
- 43:23Speaker 1: that's also because he hasn't played in three weeks. He
- 43:26Speaker 1: even was the first to say he's not like one
- 43:28Speaker 1: hundred percent, he just feels better. So, like we said
- 43:32Speaker 1: with the PRP injections, where there's some doubt in the
- 43:34Speaker 1: medical community how much they actually work, because there's no
- 43:37Speaker 1: evidence to say that it really does give you the
- 43:40Speaker 1: healing you're looking for. You can at least say he's
- 43:42Speaker 1: been he's been off not using his shoulders for a
- 43:45Speaker 1: few weeks and and he just that alone helps him
- 43:48Speaker 1: feel better. But how does this defensive front match up
- 43:51Speaker 1: against a Bill's offensive line.
- 43:54Speaker 4: Which is which is a definite strength and probably one
- 43:56Speaker 4: of the top five in the league. So that is
- 43:58Speaker 4: the strength of their offense and everybody's healthy. It's a
- 44:02Speaker 4: really good run blocking O line as we've seen, they're
- 44:04Speaker 4: very good, and it's very multiple in their concepts. I
- 44:07Speaker 4: would say it's not necessarily as good as pass protecting
- 44:10Speaker 4: O line. But the question is do the Eagles have
- 44:13Speaker 4: those edge players that can really I mean Phillips. Phillips
- 44:16Speaker 4: will be going against Spencer Brown the right tackle the
- 44:19Speaker 4: majority of the time, Brown's good player, but I think
- 44:23Speaker 4: he can be beatable at times. But he's a good player, right. So,
- 44:28Speaker 4: but that the old line, there's no question that's a
- 44:31Speaker 4: strength of their team and one of the top five
- 44:33Speaker 4: in the league for sure.
- 44:35Speaker 1: They will have to be disciplined.
- 44:37Speaker 2: The Eagles with their pass rush, without questions, this is
- 44:40Speaker 2: not a guy you can question that.
- 44:42Speaker 4: Josh Allen, as good as he is, does look if
- 44:45Speaker 4: he sees an opening, he you know, he'll abandoned the
- 44:48Speaker 4: play if he sees an opening and he'll go.
- 44:50Speaker 1: Yeah, and I think running good.
- 44:52Speaker 2: By the way, it's Mariota, and I thought the Eagles
- 44:55Speaker 2: were good at not letting Mariota break the posts.
- 44:59Speaker 1: So they kept them. That's how we got hurt.
- 45:01Speaker 2: Actually he was in the pocket and trying to get out,
- 45:05Speaker 2: but he was did a nice job there.
- 45:08Speaker 4: Adam, you're.
- 45:10Speaker 3: Uh yeah, actually they're you know, it's interesting. I remember
- 45:14Speaker 3: David Edwards is their left guard. Greg I thought when
- 45:18Speaker 3: the Ram because the Rams are not doing well guard
- 45:20Speaker 3: and they let him walk. So he's actually played pretty
- 45:22Speaker 3: well for them.
- 45:22Speaker 4: Huh yeah, No, they're all lines good. They're mallers. Edwards
- 45:26Speaker 4: is a maller. Torrance is uh is a Maller. You
- 45:31Speaker 4: know they're they're really good. I mean it's it's a
- 45:33Speaker 4: really good fiscal Jeff.
- 45:37Speaker 3: But they're not there. You would say they're athletic by
- 45:39Speaker 3: this line, would you.
- 45:40Speaker 4: I mean, I wouldn't call them the most athletic in
- 45:42Speaker 4: the league. They're not unathletic, but that's not they're more
- 45:45Speaker 4: I would say on the scale of athletic versus Mallers,
- 45:48Speaker 4: they're closer to Malers, but they're not unathletic.
- 45:51Speaker 3: And one more thing, Jeff, Josh Allen's running style is
- 45:55Speaker 3: very unique. It's sort of like sidewinding, Like you don't
- 45:58Speaker 3: see guys this big run like the he I mean,
- 46:01Speaker 3: you would call him explosive, but he's got good vision
- 46:04Speaker 3: and they cannot let it like if he has a
- 46:08Speaker 3: backbreaking run, got to just deal it and go to
- 46:11Speaker 3: the next play. Because we've seen this with some runs
- 46:14Speaker 3: and Herbert got them, Mariota let Mario got hurt early
- 46:18Speaker 3: in the game, so we never know. Mario is as
- 46:20Speaker 3: big as Herbert arolly right, and Mariota got hurt early
- 46:23Speaker 3: in the game anyway, so we have no idea how
- 46:24Speaker 3: that he would have finished.
- 46:25Speaker 4: But this is it.
- 46:27Speaker 3: He's he's very unique, And I just want to mention
- 46:32Speaker 3: our late great friend Chris Mortenson. He and I were
- 46:35Speaker 3: texting one year because you know, we were exchanging notes
- 46:38Speaker 3: on what the word on Josh Allen was before the draft,
- 46:40Speaker 3: and I said, mord it's hard to get over the inaccuracy.
- 46:44Speaker 3: Most coaches will tell you you can't correct that, right,
- 46:47Speaker 3: Brandon Bean, I got to give the guy credit because
- 46:49Speaker 3: I remember talking to him about this. You just have
- 46:52Speaker 3: a feeling like if you work with a guy and
- 46:54Speaker 3: he's willing to work Josh Allen we're talking about here,
- 46:57Speaker 3: and he wants to be great, maybe he can overcome.
- 47:00Speaker 3: But Greg, you know this.
- 47:03Speaker 4: There's no question he I've even heard Troy Aikman talk
- 47:05Speaker 4: about it that he kind of you know that he's
- 47:08Speaker 4: the aberration. No one expects guys to all of a
- 47:10Speaker 4: sudden become accurate, you know that Hart to coach.
- 47:13Speaker 3: At Jeff hard.
- 47:14Speaker 4: Funny at the year he came out at the combine,
- 47:17Speaker 4: I was. I was asked by Jordan Palmer. He said, hey,
- 47:21Speaker 4: you want to come up to the second floor. It
- 47:23Speaker 4: was the night before the quarterbacks worked out because Jordan
- 47:26Speaker 4: was working with Donald and Josh Allen. So I went
- 47:29Speaker 4: up the night before when they were just doing like
- 47:31Speaker 4: their last throwing because the next day was the quarterback workout,
- 47:34Speaker 4: and so I was up there standing next to Donald
- 47:36Speaker 4: and Allen, and I'm telling you the way the book
- 47:38Speaker 4: comes out of Allan, I mean it's in fact, Jordan
- 47:43Speaker 4: Palmer was the one catching his throws and his hands
- 47:45Speaker 4: were bloody. Yeah, because obviously Jordan Palmer's not a receiver.
- 47:50Speaker 4: Sure you know, it just was. It's crazy out of
- 47:55Speaker 4: his hand. So damn Marino.
- 47:56Speaker 3: I know it's been said that you could hear it whistle,
- 47:59Speaker 3: like you could hear the ball move Flacco. I've heard
- 48:03Speaker 3: it move when he would look. I've seen him been
- 48:05Speaker 3: on a practice wherever he was. But just the way
- 48:08Speaker 3: you just grab Josh Allen Jeff, Yeah, Wow.
- 48:12Speaker 1: He's a superhuman. The last time these teams played, it
- 48:15Speaker 1: actually rained. It was at the Link. This was two
- 48:17Speaker 1: years ago. The Eagles won the game, and that was.
- 48:20Speaker 4: The game where Gabe Davis made that mistake in overtime
- 48:23Speaker 4: and it should have been a game winning touchdown because
- 48:25Speaker 4: he broke outside versus zero. Yeah, and there was no
- 48:29Speaker 4: one in the You know, when there's no one in
- 48:30Speaker 4: the middle versus zero, you go to the middle.
- 48:33Speaker 3: By the way, it rained in that game of their
- 48:34Speaker 3: seventy one points, scored folks.
- 48:36Speaker 4: And made some ridiculous throws.
- 48:38Speaker 2: Yes, and Jordan Davis made an unbelievable play chasing Josh Allen.
- 48:42Speaker 4: Down right, that was the sideline on.
- 48:44Speaker 1: A fourth down, I believe, forcing him out of balance.
- 48:46Speaker 1: But the point I wanted to make you just made
- 48:48Speaker 1: it was that was a thirty seven, thirty four win
- 48:51Speaker 1: for the Eagles. It doesn't feel like these teams are
- 48:55Speaker 1: as potent right now.
- 48:57Speaker 3: Both of them.
- 48:58Speaker 2: Can score thirty, But when they play each other in
- 49:01Speaker 2: an Orchard Park, with the rain, with the struggles at
- 49:04Speaker 2: times they both had offensively, I think I see a
- 49:06Speaker 2: different style of game here.
- 49:09Speaker 4: I mean, right now, I would agree with you. Of course,
- 49:11Speaker 4: we never know in the NFL, but I would agree
- 49:13Speaker 4: with you right now. You know, I don't see, you know,
- 49:16Speaker 4: the game playing out that way?
- 49:18Speaker 2: All right, Well, that's a great segue to us telling
- 49:21Speaker 2: us how we do see the game playing out.
- 49:23Speaker 4: I forgot about that.
- 49:25Speaker 1: Yeah, here's my favorite thing. Before we do.
- 49:28Speaker 2: I always like when I asked Greg what the line is,
- 49:31Speaker 2: because I know he pays no attention to its curious
- 49:34Speaker 2: what he thinks it's going to be compared to what
- 49:36Speaker 2: it actually is.
- 49:37Speaker 1: So, Craig, what do you think the line is on
- 49:39Speaker 1: the game.
- 49:40Speaker 4: Well, I would assume because the Bills are really good
- 49:42Speaker 4: at home and they are eleven and four, it's not
- 49:43Speaker 4: like they're a bad team, that they would be favored.
- 49:46Speaker 4: But I would think not by a ton. I'm going
- 49:49Speaker 4: to say three and a half.
- 49:51Speaker 1: You're very close. Your rationale was right there. Buffalo is favored,
- 49:55Speaker 1: they are at home, but it's only one and a half,
- 49:58Speaker 1: which is very That.
- 49:58Speaker 4: Means that people think the Eagles have a truly legit
- 50:01Speaker 4: chance to win this. I think that's what it means,
- 50:03Speaker 4: right sure.
- 50:05Speaker 2: I mean usually you get three points for being at home,
- 50:06Speaker 2: so it almost it almost suggests that the odds makers
- 50:09Speaker 2: think that if they played this game in the Super Bowl,
- 50:12Speaker 2: the Eagles would win, or on a neutral fold, right,
- 50:14Speaker 2: the Eagles would win.
- 50:16Speaker 1: So with that in mind, let us start.
- 50:18Speaker 4: Greg.
- 50:19Speaker 1: You can go first, what's the score, who wins, who's
- 50:20Speaker 1: the player of the game.
- 50:24Speaker 4: You know, it's always hard to pick against the Bills
- 50:27Speaker 4: in hein Mark, there's something you know. It's one of
- 50:28Speaker 4: those places, just like we always say, if you know
- 50:30Speaker 4: that now, that the Eagles won the division, that it's
- 50:32Speaker 4: tough to come to the Lincoln January no matter how
- 50:34Speaker 4: good you are, who you are, it's it's over the years,
- 50:37Speaker 4: it's been really tough to play at High Mark. It's
- 50:39Speaker 4: not like they never lose there, but it's a tough
- 50:41Speaker 4: place to play. But I don't know, I just I
- 50:45Speaker 4: feel like the Eagles are sort of getting a little
- 50:47Speaker 4: bit back on track. I just I just don't know
- 50:52Speaker 4: how many points are going to be scored in this game.
- 50:54Speaker 4: I'm feeling like this is like a twenty seventeen kind
- 50:57Speaker 4: of game, you know. So I'm going to pick the
- 51:00Speaker 4: Eagles twenty seventeen, and I'm gonna pick Barkley as my
- 51:02Speaker 4: player at because I think the reality is the Bills
- 51:06Speaker 4: have struggle to stop the run. I mean, it's just
- 51:09Speaker 4: been a reality. You know. You can't the numbers say so,
- 51:13Speaker 4: you know. So I'm gonna I'm.
- 51:14Speaker 1: Going to pick all right, Adam to you, yeah, Sirianni.
- 51:19Speaker 3: Since twenty one, best road record in the National Football
- 51:21Speaker 3: League twenty nine to thirteen, the Eagles are also nine
- 51:24Speaker 3: to three on the road versus the AFC, And you know,
- 51:27Speaker 3: since then, to start the week, I was going to
- 51:31Speaker 3: pick the Bills because of the sentimentality of they're going
- 51:34Speaker 3: to close the stadium. You know after the season all
- 51:36Speaker 3: that Bills are hard to win and beat in December.
- 51:39Speaker 3: But there's just something I know people talk about the
- 51:44Speaker 3: schedule recently. Fine, but they look like a different team.
- 51:47Speaker 3: They look better. I'm buying in Jailen Carter returning, just
- 51:51Speaker 3: him returning, Jeff, and look, their defense is played really
- 51:55Speaker 3: well without them. They're gonna be better with Jalen Carter.
- 51:58Speaker 3: I'm going Eagles twenty three to twenty over the Bills.
- 52:01Speaker 3: I mean, how can I go with anyone but Sakwan Parkley.
- 52:04Speaker 3: By the way, it's really running hard and running well.
- 52:06Speaker 3: Get some dirty yards, which we never really last week.
- 52:08Speaker 4: You're one hundred percent right at him.
- 52:10Speaker 3: He is, this is I know what Kyle Shanahan talks about,
- 52:13Speaker 3: the dirty yards. I get what he meant. You got
- 52:17Speaker 3: because Greg, you told us you were the first person
- 52:19Speaker 3: to bring this up. He didn't know if he can
- 52:21Speaker 3: do that. We know explosive he was. He was awesome
- 52:23Speaker 3: last year. But this time of year, Jeff, you've got
- 52:27Speaker 3: to be able to run hard when the conditions aren't great.
- 52:30Speaker 3: You've got to be able to finish, and I really
- 52:33Speaker 3: bring it right now, and a lot is better.
- 52:35Speaker 4: I don't think people appreciate the dirty yards. You know.
- 52:38Speaker 4: They see a guy break through into the clear and
- 52:40Speaker 4: it looks pretty and it looks great, But the dirty
- 52:43Speaker 4: yards are the key to you. I mean, I would
- 52:46Speaker 4: say there's been no better back in the league this
- 52:48Speaker 4: year because I watch, you know, as many teams I can,
- 52:50Speaker 4: as you guys know, there's been no better back getting
- 52:52Speaker 4: dirty yards this year than Christian McCaffrey. He might not
- 52:55Speaker 4: be averaging five yards to carry, but he gets hard,
- 52:59Speaker 4: tough dirty yards.
- 53:01Speaker 1: Yes, yeah, I've seen a lot of them.
- 53:03Speaker 2: You're right about that, Greg, because him and Barkley for
- 53:06Speaker 2: much of the year were right.
- 53:09Speaker 1: Yeah, yeah, yeah, in yards.
- 53:11Speaker 6: Because I think he's still under He may maybe got
- 53:15Speaker 6: to four last week because I know he had twenty
- 53:17Speaker 6: four for one to seventeen, so I haven't checked his
- 53:19Speaker 6: you know, so, but even if he's at three point.
- 53:21Speaker 4: Nine, he's actually had a very good season given the
- 53:25Speaker 4: nature of the of the year, you know. Anyway, I
- 53:27Speaker 4: didn't mean to take your still your.
- 53:29Speaker 2: No, yeah, I was saying there yards before contact. I
- 53:31Speaker 2: mean these guys, yeah, hit, hit, pretty pretty quickly. I
- 53:34Speaker 2: hate that you guys always make me the bad guy.
- 53:36Speaker 2: It was other than that one week where we all
- 53:37Speaker 2: picked the Chargers and turned out to be right. You
- 53:39Speaker 2: guys always make me the bad guy. So I'm gonna
- 53:42Speaker 2: get all the comments. But I do think the Bills
- 53:43Speaker 2: are going to win this game. I think they're very
- 53:45Speaker 2: tough in Buffalo. They have a lot to play for
- 53:48Speaker 2: to still be able to win the AFC East. And
- 53:51Speaker 2: I do have some concerns right now with Jake Elliott
- 53:53Speaker 2: in a close game, and I do expect this to
- 53:55Speaker 2: be a close game. I have some concerns about the
- 53:56Speaker 2: lack of Nakobe Dean and what that's gonna do for
- 54:00Speaker 2: keeping Josh Allen contained and this run game, Bills run game.
- 54:05Speaker 2: So I do think it's going to be a low scoring,
- 54:07Speaker 2: close game.
- 54:07Speaker 1: I have the Bills winning twenty six to twenty with
- 54:10Speaker 1: James Cook getting two touchdowns and being the game MVP.
- 54:14Speaker 4: Yeah, he can win even when it's not really well blocked,
- 54:18Speaker 4: because his touchdown run last week against Cleveland was not
- 54:22Speaker 4: well blocked at all and he won at the second level.
- 54:26Speaker 4: He can beat guys, you know. So again, look, I'm
- 54:30Speaker 4: right there with you, This game to me is a
- 54:32Speaker 4: pick him in many ways. You know, I can easily
- 54:35Speaker 4: have picked the Bills and I feel perfectly good about it.
- 54:38Speaker 4: But you know, I just I just know they run.
- 54:42Speaker 4: Defense to Bills has just been not what I know,
- 54:45Speaker 4: not what Sean McDermot would want it to be.
- 54:47Speaker 3: One question off that are they really small?
- 54:49Speaker 4: Up front?
- 54:50Speaker 3: Greg?
- 54:50Speaker 4: Is there like an issue?
- 54:51Speaker 3: Like what do you think the issue is?
- 54:53Speaker 4: The guys who were hurt are not small. Jordan Phillips
- 54:55Speaker 4: is three twenty or so. You know, Daikwon Jones, he's
- 54:58Speaker 4: the Penn State kid, right, Yeah, you know, but what's
- 55:00Speaker 4: the issue why the rookiees probably in the two ninety range.
- 55:05Speaker 4: You know, he's a quickness player. Dion Walker is not
- 55:07Speaker 4: small at all.
- 55:08Speaker 1: Oh no, he's uge.
- 55:10Speaker 3: It fits is that they.
- 55:12Speaker 4: Just I mean, when you're not good in the run game,
- 55:14Speaker 4: there's not one hundred reasons why at him. It's it's
- 55:16Speaker 4: guys getting blocked, it's bad run fits, it's you know,
- 55:19Speaker 4: it's not rocket science here, We're not we're not doing
- 55:21Speaker 4: green surgery.
- 55:23Speaker 2: So Dane Walker is three thirty, so if anything, maybe
- 55:26Speaker 2: maybe him being in there more helps.
- 55:28Speaker 4: The thing is they are light at linebacker at him.
- 55:30Speaker 4: That's the issue. A lot of heavy. Bernard is not
- 55:34Speaker 4: big when he's in these You know, I think these
- 55:36Speaker 4: guys are solid players, but they're not big guys.
- 55:39Speaker 3: Get to the second level, Jeff, and you could and
- 55:42Speaker 3: folks watch watch early in the game with the rans,
- 55:45Speaker 3: see what the footing is like. Very interesting to have
- 55:47Speaker 3: the right for goingn' sake.
- 55:49Speaker 1: Oh serious, that is true. Absolutely.
- 55:51Speaker 2: It's a four to twenty five game for a reason,
- 55:53Speaker 2: because these are two really fascinating, really good teams going
- 55:56Speaker 2: at it.
- 55:57Speaker 1: So it should be a great time. That's gonna do
- 55:59Speaker 1: it for this episod out of the Inside the Birds
- 56:01Speaker 1: pregame show for Greg Gsell and Adam Kaplan. I'm Jeff
- 56:04Speaker 1: Mosher catch all on the Inside the Birds postgame show
- 56:07Speaker 1: after the game
