- 0:16Speaker 3: I want to build a sustainable winner.
- 0:20Speaker 4: I don't want to be a flash in the pan
- 0:22Speaker 4: like you want to go hang an NFC Championship runner
- 0:24Speaker 4: up and watch that way.
- 0:31Speaker 5: I don't know if they did it right on purpose.
- 0:33Speaker 2: They weren't trying to lose. I don't think the commanders
- 0:38Speaker 2: would do anything. They give away what they did last year.
- 0:41Speaker 3: Yeah, they can go hang their banner, but what's your
- 0:44Speaker 3: take on this?
- 0:45Speaker 6: Dude?
- 0:45Speaker 7: Give us your time with you guys, but I don't
- 0:47Speaker 7: want to gang up on.
- 0:49Speaker 6: Change like no, it is annoying and I think Wednesday Thursday,
- 0:52Speaker 6: I'm sorry, is today?
- 0:54Speaker 4: If I'm not mistaken that they've been in paths right, yes, well,
- 0:57Speaker 4: they're never in full pads, Paul, I understand nobody couple
- 1:00Speaker 4: of picking knits today.
- 1:03Speaker 2: I don't want to like snob you, but you don't
- 1:08Speaker 2: sound like someone who played really competitive sports. NFL dot

- 1:28Speaker 2: All right, welcome the Patriots Unfiltered. It is Tuesday here
- 1:32Speaker 2: at Let's Stadium, and they're becoming victory. Tuesday's victory Tuesday. Boy,
- 1:37Speaker 2: what a role we are on? Who to thunk it?
- 1:40Speaker 2: Who to thunk it? I Mean, we all said before
- 1:43Speaker 2: the season, we think they're going to improve. That's because
- 1:46Speaker 2: we think Drake's gonna get a little better. We think
- 1:48Speaker 2: the coaching is going to be better, so we're gonna
- 1:51Speaker 2: see improvement. But this is this is crazy. Paul.
- 1:55Speaker 9: Paul always is a dendem too, unless Drake just makes
- 1:59Speaker 9: a crazy second year leap.
- 2:00Speaker 7: And that's kind of what's happened, right.
- 2:02Speaker 6: The definition of a crazy second year, which is seven
- 2:05Speaker 6: consecutive games with over one hundred passer rating and seventy
- 2:08Speaker 6: whatever percent completions and one hundred yards Russian and like
- 2:12Speaker 6: and all the other things that he's doing that have
- 2:14Speaker 6: only been done by guys like Brady Manning and Home
- 2:17Speaker 6: homes right and Rogers. That's it, Like, it's an unbelievable
- 2:22Speaker 6: level he's playing.
- 2:23Speaker 7: I never would have expected this.
- 2:25Speaker 9: I mean, I just you know, I thought it would
- 2:26Speaker 9: be a little up and down, that there'd be growing pains,
- 2:29Speaker 9: and you know, he'd have a good game and you'd
- 2:31Speaker 9: see his athletic talent and his arm on display, and
- 2:33Speaker 9: then he you know, has some brain farts and it,
- 2:35Speaker 9: you know, would be a little bit more.
- 2:36Speaker 7: Of a zigzag.
- 2:37Speaker 5: But I can't explain the other part that I would
- 2:39Speaker 5: have said.
- 2:40Speaker 6: You know, it's like when they always ask us, you know,
- 2:42Speaker 6: what do you think, you know, what if if they
- 2:44Speaker 6: end up with this, and we always say, well, we
- 2:47Speaker 6: need to see it. Like I could have been convinced,
- 2:50Speaker 6: maybe not six and two, but I would have said
- 2:52Speaker 6: five and three is certainly a possibility before you know,
- 2:56Speaker 6: you just look at the first eight games. I would
- 2:57Speaker 6: have had five and three the Buffalo win. To me,
- 2:59Speaker 6: I did not. Yeah, but I didn't expect it to
- 3:02Speaker 6: look like this. I thought they could win games the
- 3:05Speaker 6: seventeen Reformation.
- 3:07Speaker 4: Yeah, but they're ending the games in the third quarter.
- 3:12Speaker 6: It's not that surprising that they're they're handling the teams
- 3:16Speaker 6: the way they like the last two games, but all
- 3:18Speaker 6: of them, like five in a row, that is surprising
- 3:22Speaker 6: to me. And the way that the offense is just
- 3:25Speaker 6: clicked that. I did not see that coming. That's why
- 3:28Speaker 6: when people ask you, what do you think they can do? Like,
- 3:31Speaker 6: would you consider nine and eight a good season? Yeah,
- 3:35Speaker 6: but I would consider nine and eight the way they've
- 3:37Speaker 6: played the last few games good. But if it's nine
- 3:40Speaker 6: and eight and they're winning like thirteen, ten, seventeen, thirteen,
- 3:44Speaker 6: I was like, that's just because the other team was
- 3:46Speaker 6: so bad and they couldn't take advantage of you. The
- 3:48Speaker 6: Patriots are making these teams look even worse than they are.
- 3:52Speaker 6: That's the thing that's most exciting.
- 3:53Speaker 2: All right, it's even that's Paul, it's me, it's Deuce,
- 3:56Speaker 2: it's Matt and na Booth. We're talking Patriots for the
- 3:58Speaker 2: next couple hours. Just a lot to talk about with
- 4:03Speaker 2: his team. Most of it's good. But I do want
- 4:06Speaker 2: to bring in one aspect of the offense in particular
- 4:10Speaker 2: that I think I would you know, I think needs improvement.
- 4:14Speaker 2: I think that's the offensive line. I think we can
- 4:17Speaker 2: see improvement on the offensive line now. Last week, obviously
- 4:21Speaker 2: Miles Garrett, he is a generational player. Five sacks for
- 4:25Speaker 2: him six total for the for the Browns. Uh. Not
- 4:29Speaker 2: a good showing. But like I said, it's Miles Garrett.
- 4:32Speaker 2: But I think overall, the fact that Drake does need
- 4:36Speaker 2: to run as much as he has is in part
- 4:39Speaker 2: because you know the line needs improvement. Uh, you know
- 4:45Speaker 2: the young the young half of the line needs improvement.
- 4:49Speaker 2: I think, Mike and when you could be playing better.
- 4:52Speaker 2: So it's not all gravy right now. I think there's
- 4:57Speaker 2: parts of the team that need to improve. And I
- 5:01Speaker 2: will say this, I will look in the camera when
- 5:03Speaker 2: I say this. I'm on team Campbell, Okay. But I
- 5:06Speaker 2: do know that after the game he was pissed at
- 5:09Speaker 2: himself for the game that he had. Now I think
- 5:13Speaker 2: I hope that there's someone there explaining to him. Listen,
- 5:16Speaker 2: you just went up against a guy who is a
- 5:19Speaker 2: surefire Hall of Famer. So it's good that you're pissed.
- 5:25Speaker 2: You want to be pissed, and you don't want to
- 5:28Speaker 2: be giving up sacks like that. But just keep in
- 5:31Speaker 2: mind who you are going up against. And if you
- 5:33Speaker 2: have the mindset that every week I'm gonna go up
- 5:36Speaker 2: against a guy that good and I better be ready,
- 5:39Speaker 2: then you're gonna be okay. And I think he's gonna
- 5:42Speaker 2: be fine. So will If you're listening or someone from
- 5:44Speaker 2: your family. Don't worry about it. Be pissed. That's a
- 5:48Speaker 2: good thing. Be pissed, but you know, keep that mindset
- 5:56Speaker 2: and you'll be okay. Keep working at your craft.
- 5:59Speaker 4: I think that the Will Campbell's stuff because I've seen
- 6:02Speaker 4: a lot of people, myself included, trying to say, if
- 6:06Speaker 4: you actually watched the film, it wasn't as bad as
- 6:08Speaker 4: it seemed watching live. I that is true, But two
- 6:13Speaker 4: sacks is also two sacks, right, And he gave up
- 6:15Speaker 4: two sacks in the game, and as an offensive lineman,
- 6:18Speaker 4: that's like giving up a touchdown as a cornerback, right,
- 6:21Speaker 4: Like as good as you might have played on the
- 6:23Speaker 4: other seventy plays of the game, when you give up
- 6:25Speaker 4: two sacks and one of them is a strip sack, like,
- 6:28Speaker 4: that's that's not good enough.
- 6:29Speaker 10: Now.
- 6:30Speaker 4: I think the reason you know two things. I think
- 6:33Speaker 4: the reason why he was the way he was after
- 6:36Speaker 4: the game was because I look at the sacks he
- 6:39Speaker 4: gave up as somewhat self inflicted. They didn't execute the
- 6:43Speaker 4: chips well. So if he had executed the chips better,
- 6:47Speaker 4: I don't know if Miles Garrett would have had the
- 6:49Speaker 4: two sacks against him. So I think that he's thinking
- 6:51Speaker 4: that was like my fault, Like I like not that
- 6:54Speaker 4: I just got beat on a great move by Miles Garrett.
- 6:57Speaker 3: It was more about.
- 6:58Speaker 4: The space and you know the way that he was
- 7:01Speaker 4: coming off the chips. Now I come I somewhat disagree
- 7:05Speaker 4: about the offensive line because I think we're running into
- 7:08Speaker 4: a situation now where we have to figure out where
- 7:13Speaker 4: the blame is being assigned to on sacks, because if
- 7:17Speaker 4: you ask me, I think a lot of the blame
- 7:19Speaker 4: for sacks in general is on the quarterback, like holding
- 7:23Speaker 4: the football or not, you know, taking check downs, not
- 7:28Speaker 4: throwing the ball away. You know, all of these sacks
- 7:31Speaker 4: that happened in the game on Sunday took over four
- 7:34Speaker 4: seconds to happen. So these were not jail break sure
- 7:39Speaker 4: blitzes where guys are coming through and there's no chance
- 7:42Speaker 4: for Drake May to get rid of the football. So
- 7:44Speaker 4: if there's one little blemish on Drake, and he's been
- 7:48Speaker 4: an MVP, so don't get me wrong, but if there's
- 7:50Speaker 4: one little blemish on Drake, it's that he's taken a
- 7:53Speaker 4: lot of sacks and his sack rate is extremely high.
- 7:55Speaker 4: Now you could say that he's taking the sacks and
- 8:00Speaker 4: that's better than you know, maybe the alternative. You know,
- 8:04Speaker 4: we could have that conversation. But he is taking a
- 8:07Speaker 4: lot of sacks, and I think some of those sacks
- 8:09Speaker 4: are a result of him as much as they are
- 8:11Speaker 4: the offensive.
- 8:12Speaker 2: Oh, you make a good point about what it looks like.
- 8:16Speaker 2: You know, over the last three years with this line,
- 8:18Speaker 2: we've seen a lot of jail breaks, and we've seen
- 8:20Speaker 2: a lot of really bad communication, guys blocking no one,
- 8:24Speaker 2: you know, not being able to handle stunts, and we're
- 8:27Speaker 2: not seeing as much of that this year, where you
- 8:29Speaker 2: get those free runners to the quarterback, and that's a
- 8:32Speaker 2: good thing. But I think mainly the point I want
- 8:35Speaker 2: to make is I like the fact that Will Campbell
- 8:38Speaker 2: was mad at himself after the game. That even like
- 8:41Speaker 2: for him, I don't care if I'm going against Miles Garrett.
- 8:44Speaker 2: I need to be better and that's a good thing.
- 8:47Speaker 2: That's a good thing. You keep that mindset, you keep
- 8:50Speaker 2: working at it, You're gonna be okay.
- 8:52Speaker 7: I did you feel like he was missing receivers?
- 8:54Speaker 9: I don't know, Like I didn't do a total grind
- 8:57Speaker 9: on the offensive side of the ball. I did watch
- 8:58Speaker 9: a bunch of the defense, but I didn't see a
- 9:01Speaker 9: lot of leg always got a guy like I've seen
- 9:03Speaker 9: some of that in the past, but I felt like
- 9:04Speaker 9: their man covers was was pretty good and that there
- 9:06Speaker 9: wasn't I think that made him hold the ball a
- 9:08Speaker 9: little bit more. But Vrabel pointed out the same points
- 9:10Speaker 9: you're making too of Yeah, you know some of these
- 9:12Speaker 9: are on sacks.
- 9:13Speaker 4: Are are a team stat sacks are not always just
- 9:18Speaker 4: to sign to the offensive line, and that's why you know,
- 9:21Speaker 4: even to like hash it out only four. I only
- 9:25Speaker 4: gave responsibility to blockers on four of the six sacks
- 9:30Speaker 4: because one of them came on a boot leg where
- 9:32Speaker 4: Miles Garrett's unblocked on the boot leg, and then another
- 9:35Speaker 4: one on the play action drop, which wasn't a Miles
- 9:38Speaker 4: Garrett sack.
- 9:39Speaker 3: Drake may just.
- 9:40Speaker 4: Runs right into the line of scrimmage and gets and
- 9:42Speaker 4: gets sacked. So like I I think that that's all
- 9:45Speaker 4: of the things that you have to factor. And now
- 9:47Speaker 4: the one that I really thought that was a Campbell
- 9:50Speaker 4: sack that I thought that Drake could have helped him
- 9:52Speaker 4: out on was the one in the red zone because
- 9:54Speaker 4: it looked to me like he kind of got stuck
- 9:55Speaker 4: on ramondre Stevenson on a little option route out in
- 9:58Speaker 4: the flat, Remondre didn't get open if he comes to
- 10:01Speaker 4: the middle of the field, Hunter Henry's wide open in
- 10:03Speaker 4: the middle of the field.
- 10:04Speaker 3: So he just got hung up a little bit on that.
- 10:06Speaker 4: When you get down there in the red zone, it
- 10:07Speaker 4: happens quick and you can't get hung up on reeds
- 10:10Speaker 4: in the red zone. And I'm killing Drake right out
- 10:12Speaker 4: of the shoot. And he's playing like a top three
- 10:14Speaker 4: quarterback in the league.
- 10:16Speaker 6: But we live in well.
- 10:18Speaker 4: I think, Paul you said to me the other day
- 10:20Speaker 4: and it kind of stuck with me, like the expectation
- 10:23Speaker 4: for this team has now changed, and like the standard
- 10:26Speaker 4: has changed. It's no longer are they a good football
- 10:29Speaker 4: team because we know that right now, it's how good
- 10:32Speaker 4: could they possibly be? And when I look at the
- 10:35Speaker 4: sack rate, I look at some of the stuff in
- 10:37Speaker 4: man coverage last week in terms of going up against
- 10:41Speaker 4: man coverage with the Browns. The Browns sack Drake May
- 10:44Speaker 4: five times when they played man. They had their interception
- 10:47Speaker 4: in man coverage. Like those types of things are the
- 10:50Speaker 4: things that when we're on the show in January and
- 10:53Speaker 4: maybe February and we're talking about why did they lose
- 10:57Speaker 4: in the playoffs. You hope that those are not the
- 10:59Speaker 4: reason why they lost.
- 11:01Speaker 6: Yeah, it's like, you know, just a really anecdotal because
- 11:04Speaker 6: I don't break down the film the way Mike and
- 11:06Speaker 6: Evan do. But what we're talking about is last year
- 11:12Speaker 6: they took a lot of sacks and few, if any
- 11:16Speaker 6: said anything negative about Drake May because he's a rookie
- 11:20Speaker 6: on a you know, a team that has won four games.
- 11:23Speaker 6: He's making his first career starts. The offensive line was
- 11:28Speaker 6: what it was. Now this year you look at it
- 11:30Speaker 6: and say, well, Drake May has played at a much
- 11:32Speaker 6: higher level.
- 11:33Speaker 5: The team is playing at a higher level.
- 11:35Speaker 6: They've invested some draft capital in the offensive line. We
- 11:39Speaker 6: think that's a little bit better. Now you start to
- 11:41Speaker 6: look at Drake May. Like last year you didn't look
- 11:44Speaker 6: at Drake May because it wasn't really fair to put sacks,
- 11:48Speaker 6: you know, all on the quarterback. This year it is like,
- 11:51Speaker 6: I mean, the bootleg was an obvious one. I think
- 11:53Speaker 6: Drake thought he could outrun Miles Garrett and he learned
- 11:55Speaker 6: a lesson, you know, like Miles Garrett is different animal.
- 12:01Speaker 6: So some of those sacks you're looking at, like that's
- 12:04Speaker 6: the quarterback's got to do a better job to help
- 12:06Speaker 6: out his line. So that's when you look at all
- 12:09Speaker 6: of these things under a different Now we're fine tuning, right,
- 12:12Speaker 6: and how can.
- 12:13Speaker 5: You get better?
- 12:14Speaker 6: Just like Evin said, how can you avoid one of
- 12:17Speaker 6: these issues that we're sort of wondering about not costing
- 12:22Speaker 6: them a game when it matters most.
- 12:24Speaker 4: Yeah, it's a nice philosophical discussion of throwing the ball
- 12:30Speaker 4: away versus taking a sack, and Brady was a master
- 12:34Speaker 4: at throwing the ball away instead of taking sacks, especially
- 12:38Speaker 4: on first and second down. Drake may is obviously a
- 12:41Speaker 4: much younger quarterback, but also on top of that, like
- 12:44Speaker 4: he probably thinks that he's so physically gifted that he
- 12:47Speaker 4: can extend the play and that he's going to either
- 12:49Speaker 4: get out of it or he's going to find a
- 12:51Speaker 4: receiver down the field. And when he finds Pop Douglas
- 12:54Speaker 4: wide open down the field for a forty four yard play,
- 12:57Speaker 4: that's because he kept the play alive, he kept his hands,
- 13:00Speaker 4: you know, his eyes down the field, he moved in
- 13:02Speaker 4: the pocket. So it's hard, like you don't want to
- 13:04Speaker 4: take that away from him and say just throw the
- 13:06Speaker 4: ball away at the first sign of pressure, because he
- 13:09Speaker 4: does have that mobility in that athleticism. So I thought
- 13:12Speaker 4: that that was much better from him this week. Which
- 13:14Speaker 4: is the most encouraging part to me is how he
- 13:17Speaker 4: takes coaching and when we harp on something one week,
- 13:21Speaker 4: he completely corrects it the next week, almost immediately. So
- 13:25Speaker 4: last week it was all about the one in runs
- 13:27Speaker 4: and he's taken off too much and he's putting himself
- 13:29Speaker 4: in harms way against Tennessee. And then this week I
- 13:33Speaker 4: saw him getting to the backside of progressions. I saw
- 13:36Speaker 4: him staying in the pocket and making throws. He scrambling
- 13:39Speaker 4: when it made sense to scramble, Like when he gets
- 13:42Speaker 4: the sees part and there's a twenty eight yards of
- 13:44Speaker 4: green grass in front of him, I scramble.
- 13:46Speaker 2: Like it's Yeah.
- 13:48Speaker 6: I still can't believe just how good he's been for
- 13:52Speaker 6: you know, going on two months now, you know, talk
- 13:55Speaker 6: about a heater. Yeah, this is just I can't believe
- 13:58Speaker 6: how much better he's gotten, even I keep I think
- 14:01Speaker 6: I said it last week, even from the game this year, Yeah,
- 14:04Speaker 6: the Raiders game to what we've.
- 14:06Speaker 2: Seen, he's seeing the field so much better. And you know,
- 14:10Speaker 2: you mentioned Evan about something happens in one game and
- 14:14Speaker 2: then he improves on it. Remember that game, I think
- 14:16Speaker 2: it was the Bills. He's not keeping his eyes downfield.
- 14:18Speaker 2: He's not keeping you know, the broadcaster was saying, And
- 14:21Speaker 2: I think it.
- 14:21Speaker 5: Was proved from the first half to the second exactly.
- 14:24Speaker 2: That's exactly.
- 14:25Speaker 9: Yeah, It's like you were waiting for him a right,
- 14:27Speaker 9: he's gonna he's not going to complete ninety percent of
- 14:29Speaker 9: his passes every week, And in the first half last
- 14:31Speaker 9: week it felt like, here it is, this is going
- 14:33Speaker 9: to be the game where you know, maybe he's a
- 14:34Speaker 9: little flat and then no, I mean we talked about
- 14:37Speaker 9: just his perseverance.
- 14:39Speaker 6: And I think, you know, and I know Evan was
- 14:41Speaker 6: talking about this this morning. You really have to credit
- 14:45Speaker 6: Josh McDaniels a lot for this particular game. I thought was,
- 14:48Speaker 6: if not his best game, one of the best games
- 14:51Speaker 6: because of what it Mike just said, they were bothering him.
- 14:54Speaker 6: You know, all the stuff that we talked about with
- 14:55Speaker 6: Cleveland ended up being pretty accurate. Oh yeah, they bothered
- 14:59Speaker 6: the Patriots off. It's in the first half. You know,
- 15:02Speaker 6: whether it was Jess Miles Garrett or it was the
- 15:04Speaker 6: main coverage that Mike and Evan are talking about. Oh, Drake,
- 15:07Speaker 6: maybe just not being quite razor sharp. At the very beginning,
- 15:10Speaker 6: I thought he had a chance on one of those
- 15:11Speaker 6: third downs down the field to Booty. I thought he
- 15:14Speaker 6: threw it to the outside in a little bit long,
- 15:17Speaker 6: a rare misfire. This is what happens when you don't
- 15:19Speaker 6: throw any complete passages. You kind of remember him right,
- 15:22Speaker 6: you know, because they're so rare. And then all of
- 15:24Speaker 6: a sudden in this you know, in the second you know,
- 15:26Speaker 6: Drake makes a play at the end of the half
- 15:27Speaker 6: that the Douglas play that Evan just talked about, sets
- 15:30Speaker 6: up to go ahead field goal, and then all of
- 15:32Speaker 6: a sudden, it was like one wrinkle after the next.
- 15:36Speaker 6: In that first drive of the third quarter was unreal,
- 15:39Speaker 6: getting them going side to side, you know, moving the
- 15:42Speaker 6: pocket a little bit, getting the ball down field, and
- 15:45Speaker 6: it was like.
- 15:46Speaker 5: Pitch and catch. I thought it was easy touchdown to
- 15:49Speaker 5: Hunter Henry.
- 15:50Speaker 6: Just like, what an amazing play sequence that that drive was.
- 15:55Speaker 9: You said it in the post game show right off
- 15:57Speaker 9: the bat, that first drive out of the shoe. Loved
- 15:59Speaker 9: it and even like or Losty, like I've seen multiple
- 16:02Speaker 9: people like laying out the play sequencings. Some of us
- 16:07Speaker 9: thou knowest the ball after the game, I mean right
- 16:10Speaker 9: after you were on it, Paul, and I mean just
- 16:11Speaker 9: talking about all the different personnel packages and formations and
- 16:15Speaker 9: Josh is throwing so much at these teams to try
- 16:17Speaker 9: to decipher and figure out. It's no surprise when they
- 16:19Speaker 9: were able to, you know, get Hunter Henry out into
- 16:22Speaker 9: the flat for an easy touchdown. Or I was laughing
- 16:24Speaker 9: about the pop Douglas thing though, is Evan just like
- 16:26Speaker 9: kind of muttered under his breath. He's like, man, pop Douglas,
- 16:29Speaker 9: Like that was OPI so bad? And I was I
- 16:30Speaker 9: went back and looked like, how the pucket so open?
- 16:33Speaker 2: Yeah, he's just like you just shoved help it?
- 16:37Speaker 5: Like and after the play delpin shot for the digs one.
- 16:39Speaker 9: Yeah, it's funny, but no, it's a Josh in his
- 16:43Speaker 9: bag as you as you continue to say.
- 16:45Speaker 4: Oh, I thought he was in his bag from the
- 16:47Speaker 4: very first play of the game, like it really was.
- 16:50Speaker 4: You know, they come out in the opening drive with
- 16:53Speaker 4: Henderson and they run that wham play right up the
- 16:55Speaker 4: middle for like twelve yards, which opened up the entire
- 16:58Speaker 4: toss you know sequence that they had going on with him. Yeah,
- 17:01Speaker 4: because they hit him right up the middle and they
- 17:04Speaker 4: come a couple of plays later, same exact formation, offset
- 17:08Speaker 4: eye with the full back in the backfield, and they
- 17:10Speaker 4: faked the inside run and then they toss it out
- 17:12Speaker 4: to him and he just runs for eighteen yards with
- 17:15Speaker 4: untouched for eighteen yards. I mean, they were they were
- 17:18Speaker 4: absolutely dialed in from a play calling perspective in this game.
- 17:22Speaker 4: And then the third quarter drive, I felt like they
- 17:24Speaker 4: pulled out some stuff deep in the bag. They were like,
- 17:26Speaker 4: all right, like we got to pull out some things
- 17:29Speaker 4: that they're not expecting because they're onto some of our
- 17:31Speaker 4: base stuff. So they you know, they run a little
- 17:34Speaker 4: trick you know, kind of play action, you know, flip
- 17:39Speaker 4: to Henderson and then they run a toss and they
- 17:41Speaker 4: run a double pass and they run jet motion and
- 17:44Speaker 4: like they're running all these different kind of things that
- 17:47Speaker 4: are not stuff that they put on film every single week.
- 17:50Speaker 4: That was the first true trick play if you don't
- 17:52Speaker 4: want to count flee flickers that they've ran all year,
- 17:55Speaker 4: So they haven't done that yet, and they did in
- 17:58Speaker 4: this game. And it kind of felt like it came
- 18:00Speaker 4: out of half and we're like, if we make this
- 18:02Speaker 4: a nine point.
- 18:03Speaker 3: Games, it's over.
- 18:04Speaker 4: Like they're not scoring seventeen against US BUS but not
- 18:08Speaker 4: so the third quarter.
- 18:10Speaker 3: Drive felt like they were like, let's empty.
- 18:12Speaker 2: Speaking of Josh, if you go on Patriots dot com
- 18:14Speaker 2: now you can watch Josh miked up during the game.
- 18:18Speaker 2: It's a good ten minutes of Josh McDaniels and friends.
- 18:23Speaker 2: Uh So, that's a good watch that dropped this morning
- 18:26Speaker 2: on Patriots dot com.
- 18:27Speaker 7: Is Josh tight pants guy?
- 18:29Speaker 3: Is he qualify one of the ogs?
- 18:32Speaker 2: You think he's an O. G. Pitt four guys?
- 18:34Speaker 5: He was?
- 18:35Speaker 4: He was a really young coordinate he was. He was
- 18:38Speaker 4: a tight pants guy before, and Josh was a tight
- 18:46Speaker 4: pant I don't think.
- 18:47Speaker 2: So, just because he was young. I don't think he's
- 18:49Speaker 2: in the tight pants.
- 18:49Speaker 6: You know, they don't all wear tight pants, right, most
- 18:52Speaker 6: of them do, but you know they don't all wear
- 18:54Speaker 6: tight pants.
- 18:55Speaker 3: Not a tight pants.
- 18:55Speaker 2: Guy, I don't think because he wasn't.
- 18:59Speaker 6: Like when they called like Red Sox fans like sometimes
- 19:01Speaker 6: they call them pink cats. Right, they're not all women
- 19:05Speaker 6: and they don't actually wear but.
- 19:06Speaker 8: Now it's symbolic, right, right, it's not like physically younger
- 19:12Speaker 8: kind of innovative, you know, outside the box, Like that's
- 19:15Speaker 8: what Evan's talking about. I'm with it, but he inherited,
- 19:20Speaker 8: you know, the offense that the Patriots were running long
- 19:24Speaker 8: before Josh.
- 19:25Speaker 5: He didn't develop the offense.
- 19:28Speaker 4: To the contrary, I mean, like he completely changed the
- 19:31Speaker 4: way that they played offense in two thousand and seven,
- 19:33Speaker 4: Like he goes to three receiver.
- 19:36Speaker 2: It was vertical because they had Randy Moss.
- 19:38Speaker 6: I think.
- 19:41Speaker 2: Year they did that.
- 19:42Speaker 4: Okay, so the slot receiver first of all, is a
- 19:45Speaker 4: huge part of what they were doing that they weren't
- 19:47Speaker 4: really doing before they were with Troy Brown. Troy Brown
- 19:50Speaker 4: was a z but they weren't playing three receiver purely.
- 19:53Speaker 4: A lot of this stuff and okay, or the tempo.
- 19:56Speaker 4: The tempo thing is like all Josh McDaniels, you know,
- 19:59Speaker 4: going to again with Chip Kelly and and thing.
- 20:02Speaker 6: They did with Bill O'Brien, the two tight ends. But
- 20:06Speaker 6: that's what that's my point. I don't think Bill O'Brien
- 20:08Speaker 6: innovated anything. They just added wrinkles here and there. Yeah,
- 20:11Speaker 6: I think it was kind of thet.
- 20:14Speaker 2: Maybe I'm wrong. I just I just never I g type. Yeah,
- 20:19Speaker 2: I don't think they never got pants club.
- 20:22Speaker 4: The thing that you guys are talking about with like
- 20:24Speaker 4: the Charlie Weis's offense and stuff like that. They haven't
- 20:27Speaker 4: run that offense in one year.
- 20:29Speaker 5: I wouldn't call it Charlie Weis's offense.
- 20:32Speaker 3: It was whatever you want that calling.
- 20:36Speaker 2: They're hard, that's like.
- 20:38Speaker 4: Calling what the the Shanahan treat right now is running
- 20:41Speaker 4: the Bill Walsh offense like it's it's that's what I
- 20:45Speaker 4: would do. Well, I would be incorrect, Like.
- 20:48Speaker 6: Okay, because you love those guys, but no, it's not
- 20:50Speaker 6: because I love the falls.
- 20:53Speaker 4: Yeah, but like that's like Tred.
- 20:55Speaker 5: And Andy Reid with it where.
- 20:56Speaker 4: We're talking, we're talking about like like you know, a
- 21:02Speaker 4: tesla versus like a model t here, Like you can't
- 21:05Speaker 4: like the way that they have like updated those types
- 21:08Speaker 4: of offense. I don't understand why this is disrespectful.
- 21:12Speaker 2: Couldn't do what Patrick Mahomes can do.
- 21:15Speaker 3: I don't.
- 21:15Speaker 4: I don't understand what the problem is here, Like they
- 21:18Speaker 4: they took an offense that back in the eighties with
- 21:21Speaker 4: Bill Walsh for just to stick on this example that yes,
- 21:24Speaker 4: that was the like the foundation of the West Coast
- 21:27Speaker 4: offense and now it has evolved and innovative over a
- 21:30Speaker 4: period of time. That doesn't take anything away from Bill
- 21:33Speaker 4: Walsh it's just like it's not the it's not really
- 21:36Speaker 4: the same. Like it is the same principles and they're
- 21:39Speaker 4: the same foundations.
- 21:40Speaker 2: But did it, you know, because the athletes have evolved,
- 21:45Speaker 2: or did it evolve because you know, we just changed
- 21:48Speaker 2: the office.
- 21:48Speaker 5: You have to evolve as the defense is adjusted.
- 21:51Speaker 2: And that's true too.
- 21:51Speaker 6: I'm not saying they run exactly the same every way,
- 21:55Speaker 6: but yeah, I kind of it's kind of Paul Brown,
- 21:58Speaker 6: if you really want to get to it, that that
- 22:00Speaker 6: whole system that Walsh went to Cincinnati actually as the
- 22:05Speaker 6: offensive coordinator and did some of this, but you know
- 22:09Speaker 6: we're splitting.
- 22:10Speaker 5: We don't have to do I mean, if you want
- 22:12Speaker 5: to really get it down.
- 22:13Speaker 4: To well, some confused as to why this is like
- 22:16Speaker 4: a negative thing, it's not.
- 22:18Speaker 6: It's not a negative thing at all. Brett doesn't want
- 22:20Speaker 6: to put him in the tight pants.
- 22:22Speaker 3: It doesn't matter where you put him.
- 22:23Speaker 4: I just think that like saying that this wasn't really
- 22:25Speaker 4: Josh's offense because it was earn Hart and Perkins's offense
- 22:29Speaker 4: in the nineteen seventies.
- 22:30Speaker 6: That's why I said, like, I.
- 22:33Speaker 9: Think we should have like a thing where you present
- 22:35Speaker 9: Josh with some pants and then you're like, oh, these.
- 22:38Speaker 2: Are a little these are a little tight exactly exactly.
- 22:41Speaker 7: Know, it's like a.
- 22:41Speaker 3: Ceremonial, like and I do something cool with him instead.
- 22:44Speaker 7: Of I can't quite get him on. To keep trying,
- 22:47Speaker 7: you will.
- 22:47Speaker 5: Get jealous that you didn't get to sit in with
- 22:50Speaker 5: Mike and I do.
- 22:50Speaker 7: We have a little breaking news here according to the
- 22:52Speaker 7: rap sheet, you know, like, why do they have to share?
- 22:55Speaker 3: Why do they have to do this seven minutes a.
- 22:58Speaker 9: Week in Rappaport, it's reporting on x that Marcus Jones
- 23:01Speaker 9: has signed an extension.
- 23:03Speaker 2: Three new years for the Patriots. So Rapaport's reporting it.
- 23:07Speaker 2: We knew that we actually were, we actually were with
- 23:11Speaker 2: him when he signed it. So I think in about
- 23:13Speaker 2: ten minutes that'll drop. That's a patries dot com.
- 23:17Speaker 6: Yeah. I mean, unfortunate the way it got announced, but
- 23:20Speaker 6: that's a great that's a that's a great signing.
- 23:22Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:23Speaker 5: I think he's played really, really well.
- 23:25Speaker 6: I think he's the kind of guy that you should
- 23:26Speaker 6: want to invest in and extend and keeping your your culture.
- 23:30Speaker 4: Great, great move. You know I have a crush Yeah.
- 23:32Speaker 6: Full disclosure, I have a crush on Marcus Jones.
- 23:34Speaker 1: Yep.
- 23:35Speaker 6: But that being said, I don't. I think anybody objectively
- 23:38Speaker 6: would look at him playing at a much higher level
- 23:40Speaker 6: defensively than he has. And he's always been the electric
- 23:43Speaker 6: punt return of that he is.
- 23:44Speaker 7: That's the thing.
- 23:45Speaker 9: I mean, that's we've always known about his kick return
- 23:47Speaker 9: of coverage, and you know, to me, this was.
- 23:49Speaker 7: The player I saw when he was coming out.
- 23:51Speaker 9: I was like, man, this guy's small, but he's just
- 23:53Speaker 9: so sticky in man coverage. And I feel like this
- 23:56Speaker 9: is the first year that I've really seen that start
- 23:58Speaker 9: to translate, where you know, he is just right on
- 24:01Speaker 9: top of guys, and you know, sure they make some
- 24:03Speaker 9: catches here and there on him.
- 24:04Speaker 7: He's not the biggest guy, but everything.
- 24:05Speaker 2: Feels and also physical, not afraid, you know, for his size,
- 24:12Speaker 2: not afraid to get at the line and make tackles.
- 24:14Speaker 6: Almost the point guys, you'd like to see him tone
- 24:16Speaker 6: that down, Yeah, so he stays.
- 24:18Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 24:19Speaker 9: I love that you brought that up, though, Fred, because
- 24:20Speaker 9: I've seen him a couple of times just taking on
- 24:23Speaker 9: this personality that Mike Rabel's preaching, effort and finish, and
- 24:27Speaker 9: I think you've seen that a lot from Marcus Jones
- 24:30Speaker 9: this year, even like you said, not the biggest guy,
- 24:31Speaker 9: but willing to stick is you know, stick his nose
- 24:33Speaker 9: in there making plays on the ball. So it's uh,
- 24:36Speaker 9: you know, was entering a contract year, so this is
- 24:38Speaker 9: a nice signing. And the captain this year too.
- 24:40Speaker 4: For the first there was a play early in the
- 24:43Speaker 4: game go ahead, No, I just wanted to pay you
- 24:45Speaker 4: back off what due said. You know, he was on
- 24:47Speaker 4: the last year of his rookie contract, so he was
- 24:49Speaker 4: going to be a free agent next offseason and one
- 24:51Speaker 4: of the few like marquee free agents that they were
- 24:54Speaker 4: going to have in terms of like starters that were
- 24:56Speaker 4: up at the end of the year. So proactive, really
- 24:59Speaker 4: proactive them to get this done and avoid the open
- 25:02Speaker 4: market and avoid the tags and like all that stuff
- 25:05Speaker 4: in February and March. And his job is a slot corner.
- 25:09Speaker 4: Is one of the hardest things to do in the
- 25:11Speaker 4: NFL when you have to cover receivers inside the formation
- 25:14Speaker 4: that have two way gos that can go run vertical,
- 25:17Speaker 4: that can you know, go in and go out wherever.
- 25:19Speaker 4: It's not like covering on the outside where you can
- 25:22Speaker 4: stick a guy on the sideline. Like you have to
- 25:24Speaker 4: have a ton of awareness, coverage ability, you know, speed,
- 25:31Speaker 4: quickness like all of it, and he's done a really
- 25:34Speaker 4: really good job of that. I think that he you know,
- 25:37Speaker 4: if they nowadays they kind of amplify the slot corner
- 25:40Speaker 4: of it as its own position. I think right now
- 25:43Speaker 4: it's trending towards him having a real chance of being
- 25:45Speaker 4: an All Pro at the slot position and at punt returner.
- 25:48Speaker 4: So this is a guy that's really come into his
- 25:51Speaker 4: own this year with this team. He's one of the
- 25:54Speaker 4: best nickel corners in football. He's one of the best
- 25:56Speaker 4: punt returners in football. Team captain this.
- 25:59Speaker 2: Is And if any team says, and I'm not saying
- 26:02Speaker 2: this team has, but if any team says, oh, we
- 26:05Speaker 2: don't do contracts in the middle of the season, don't
- 26:07Speaker 2: believe them. Teams will do it when they they feel
- 26:10Speaker 2: as the right time.
- 26:11Speaker 6: More often than not, when that happens, it's because the
- 26:14Speaker 6: player doesn't want to talk about that stuff during the season.
- 26:17Speaker 5: That's generally a tea like a player thing play.
- 26:20Speaker 2: They don't like to talk about it. If they can
- 26:23Speaker 2: get more.
- 26:23Speaker 6: Money, yeah they don't. I mean, if if you want
- 26:25Speaker 6: to get it done and just do it, they don't
- 26:27Speaker 6: want to deal with it. It's basically but I agree
- 26:29Speaker 6: with you. I've seen a million contract extensions, but this
- 26:32Speaker 6: is like an example, and I think that there's been
- 26:35Speaker 6: i'd say a half dozen of these kinds of plays
- 26:38Speaker 6: that I remember from Marcus Jones this year, and they're
- 26:40Speaker 6: not It's not always the flashy play that you know,
- 26:44Speaker 6: like Jalen Hawkins makes an incredible one hinted interception and
- 26:48Speaker 6: it makes all the highlight reels and rightly so it
- 26:50Speaker 6: was a great play. But I think Marcus Jones has
- 26:52Speaker 6: made this kind of a play a lot, and it's
- 26:55Speaker 6: a really big play. At the time that he makes it.
- 26:58Speaker 6: The game opens up, Patriots gonn. They get held to
- 27:00Speaker 6: a field goal, then Cleveland goes right down for touchdown.
- 27:04Speaker 5: Patriots then go three and out.
- 27:06Speaker 6: So all of a sudden, the things that you were
- 27:08Speaker 6: worried about are kind of happening, you know. And here
- 27:12Speaker 6: comes Cleveland again, second possession. Bang ten yard gain in
- 27:17Speaker 6: the first play, bang four yard gain on the second place.
- 27:20Speaker 6: So now they just went seventy yards on you. Now
- 27:23Speaker 6: they just got a first down on their first play,
- 27:25Speaker 6: and they look like they're going to get a second
- 27:26Speaker 6: first down as they're setting up, you know, a second
- 27:29Speaker 6: and six. Good solid efficient run on their first run
- 27:31Speaker 6: of the you know, of that drive, and then they
- 27:34Speaker 6: throw a little pass out to Judkins, who's a good
- 27:37Speaker 6: running back, and they're looking to get four or five
- 27:40Speaker 6: more yards, and Marcus Jones comes shooting up and buries
- 27:44Speaker 6: them for a two yard loss.
- 27:46Speaker 3: Took away two reads on that point.
- 27:47Speaker 6: Puts away to me, that ends a drive because Cleveland
- 27:51Speaker 6: cannot convert on those kinds of situations third and eight.
- 27:55Speaker 5: They're done. They're not going to be able to do it.
- 27:59Speaker 6: Just such a subtle play, the physicality Evan just mentioned
- 28:02Speaker 6: sort of the instincts and the recognition that he had.
- 28:06Speaker 6: I remember plays like that from him at least a
- 28:09Speaker 6: half dozen times where out of nowhere he just comes
- 28:12Speaker 6: in blows up a little swing pass or screen or something.
- 28:16Speaker 6: You know. He got called for a penalty on one
- 28:18Speaker 6: kind of play like that on the friar mouth when
- 28:21Speaker 6: he ended up going low and he missed the tackle.
- 28:24Speaker 6: He was going for the tackle, but he missed the
- 28:25Speaker 6: tackle and got a blocker. I just Marcus Jones to me,
- 28:31Speaker 6: is the kind of guy that you want.
- 28:32Speaker 9: To keep in your program. I mean that just highly
- 28:35Speaker 9: just the size of Judkins too. I mean It's not
- 28:38Speaker 9: an easy play for Marcus Jones. I'm not sure exactly
- 28:41Speaker 9: giving up twenty thirty pounds, probably that guy, but you know,
- 28:44Speaker 9: taking on guys getting low.
- 28:45Speaker 6: He's so if they convert that, now all of a sudden,
- 28:49Speaker 6: they're in Patriot's territory again again, you know, and maybe
- 28:52Speaker 6: they're gonna get points. And now maybe the first half
- 28:55Speaker 6: is sort of establishing itself as a half that you're
- 28:59Speaker 6: chasing two scores and instead you end up forcing a
- 29:03Speaker 6: punt on the next play.
- 29:06Speaker 5: You know, it took you a while.
- 29:07Speaker 6: But you got your bearings offensively, but you never really
- 29:10Speaker 6: fell behind by multiple schoolers.
- 29:12Speaker 5: It was only seven to three.
- 29:13Speaker 4: Yeah, yeah, No, that play stood out to me as well.
- 29:16Speaker 4: And you know, he's got curl flat and plays the
- 29:20Speaker 4: curl first and takes away the deeper throw and then
- 29:22Speaker 4: makes Gabriel check it down to the flat and then
- 29:25Speaker 4: just shot out of a cannon on the flat and
- 29:27Speaker 4: tackles him for a tackle for loss on that one.
- 29:30Speaker 4: And you know, the interception against Buffalo obviously is a
- 29:33Speaker 4: big play.
- 29:33Speaker 3: That he's made this year too.
- 29:35Speaker 4: That was a huge one and basically blew out Carolina
- 29:40Speaker 4: all by himself. In Week three, I mean took that
- 29:43Speaker 4: game over as a punt returner.
- 29:45Speaker 6: That was another one, not just that he made the play,
- 29:47Speaker 6: but when he made the play when you were kind
- 29:49Speaker 6: of listing a little bit, when he returns that punt
- 29:51Speaker 6: for a touch.
- 29:52Speaker 4: That punt return touchdown against Carolina might be one of
- 29:55Speaker 4: the best I've ever seen.
- 29:56Speaker 2: Remind us where he was.
- 29:59Speaker 4: Third round eighty six overall, something like that, Yeah.
- 30:05Speaker 6: Good pick, really good pick.
- 30:07Speaker 4: It's one of the few picks, and not to do
- 30:08Speaker 4: this whole thing, but it's one of the few picks
- 30:10Speaker 4: in that draft that made sense.
- 30:12Speaker 5: When everybody loved right the time, it was.
- 30:14Speaker 4: A consensus good pick Patriots, and the rest of that
- 30:17Speaker 4: draft was like who in the first Yeah, Chattanooga, But
- 30:22Speaker 4: the rest of it was I.
- 30:23Speaker 9: Wonder if if he's really healthy for the you know,
- 30:26Speaker 9: I just he's battled so many different injuries. I just
- 30:28Speaker 9: I wonder if maybe the reason part of the reason
- 30:31Speaker 9: he's having such a breakout this year is maybe that
- 30:34Speaker 9: he's just finally feels up to one hundred. But he
- 30:37Speaker 9: came the year after Josh left in twenty two. I
- 30:40Speaker 9: still wonder if there's any any little plays on offense
- 30:42Speaker 9: for Josh jos Loo is getting created. He lets get
- 30:44Speaker 9: a little crazy, but I think they've got the pieces
- 30:46Speaker 9: on offense. But I wouldn't be surprised to see him
- 30:48Speaker 9: at some point.
- 30:49Speaker 2: Maybe they wanted to sign him before they started using
- 30:51Speaker 2: on my offense because the price would go up once
- 30:53Speaker 2: they did that, right, right.
- 30:55Speaker 6: Right, So, just to recap the first half hour, fred
- 30:58Speaker 6: is the one who has and it's to pick with
- 31:00Speaker 6: the offensive line, and he's calling in to question the
- 31:03Speaker 6: timing of a contract extension. Very unlike you, Freddy, keepit heal.
- 31:09Speaker 6: I thought you'd be handling a five game winning streak better.
- 31:13Speaker 2: I'm listen, this is this is great. I don't even
- 31:15Speaker 2: know what to make of it.
- 31:16Speaker 6: Like, yeah, so that would be my knit to pick.
- 31:19Speaker 6: I don't know what to make of it yet. Yeah,
- 31:21Speaker 6: I know what to make a Drake may But yeah,
- 31:24Speaker 6: I want to see it, you know. I want to
- 31:26Speaker 6: see the second half of the season unfold. I want
- 31:28Speaker 6: to see. But I will ninety nine percent sure they're
- 31:30Speaker 6: going to be part of the playoffs. I want to
- 31:32Speaker 6: see what it looks like when they get there. I
- 31:33Speaker 6: don't want to put the cart in front of the horse.
- 31:35Speaker 2: That's I will say. You know, somebody on one of
- 31:37Speaker 2: your shows, Well, they're beating all the bad teams. Well,
- 31:40Speaker 2: last year they played the bad teams too, and they
- 31:42Speaker 2: lost him.
- 31:43Speaker 6: Right, And this is what we all knew, that they improved, right,
- 31:45Speaker 6: and that they would have an opportunity to win some
- 31:47Speaker 6: of these games. But I have been impressed with the
- 31:49Speaker 6: way they've won, especially the last two.
- 31:51Speaker 2: Right, these aren't you know?
- 31:53Speaker 6: The New Orleans won was kind of like what I
- 31:55Speaker 6: was expecting then, you know, if they had a really
- 31:57Speaker 6: good season, I expected a lot of wins like the
- 31:59Speaker 6: New Orleans one that kind of could have gone you
- 32:01Speaker 6: the way the last two games couldn't have gone either way.
- 32:04Speaker 5: Yeah, only one way that those two games were going
- 32:06Speaker 5: to go.
- 32:06Speaker 7: That's your point, Friday. I looked it up.
- 32:07Speaker 9: I think there were twenty eighth in strength of schedule
- 32:09Speaker 9: after the fact last year, you know, not before the
- 32:12Speaker 9: season when you know, but after the fact. They played
- 32:14Speaker 9: a really easy schedule last year too. They won four games,
- 32:17Speaker 9: so right, you know, right.
- 32:19Speaker 4: I mean the quarterback right now is the second in
- 32:21Speaker 4: betting odds for the MVP of the league.
- 32:24Speaker 5: And should be and maybe you can make an argument
- 32:26Speaker 5: you should be first.
- 32:26Speaker 4: Yeah, and Mahomes and Alan are up there kind of
- 32:29Speaker 4: on cotails right now, right like resumes.
- 32:30Speaker 5: They haven't played as well as Drake may.
- 32:32Speaker 4: Mahomes has played really well he has. I'm not saying
- 32:35Speaker 4: that they haven't played well, but I think played better. Yeah,
- 32:37Speaker 4: and he you know the drive that obviously, the scripted
- 32:41Speaker 4: drive by McDaniels out of the half is great. But
- 32:44Speaker 4: the other touchdown drive in the third quarter that they
- 32:47Speaker 4: put together, that twenty eight yards scramble, thirty nine yard
- 32:50Speaker 4: touchdown on a dime to Keiseh on booty, like that
- 32:53Speaker 4: is an MVP put the team on your back kind
- 32:58Speaker 4: of drove absolutely right. And the only guy that I
- 33:00Speaker 4: see that consistently does it like that is Josh Allen.
- 33:03Speaker 4: Like Josh Allen will hit you with the thirty yard scramble,
- 33:06Speaker 4: hit you with another haymaker, and then all of a sudden,
- 33:09Speaker 4: it's the game is over. Like that's the type of
- 33:11Speaker 4: things that you do when you look back on like
- 33:13Speaker 4: an MVP season against the top ten defense in the
- 33:16Speaker 4: league and he just said, hey, you know what, this
- 33:18Speaker 4: game's over.
- 33:19Speaker 3: I'm just going to do this now.
- 33:21Speaker 5: He needs his moments.
- 33:22Speaker 6: Yeah, that's what that's the only you know, and it's again,
- 33:24Speaker 6: not his It's not the Patriot's fault that they're playing
- 33:27Speaker 6: bad teams and beating the bag out of them, And
- 33:29Speaker 6: it's not May's fault that he hasn't had to have
- 33:31Speaker 6: these moments that these other quarterbacks you've had.
- 33:34Speaker 2: On the post game show, I we talked about Booty
- 33:37Speaker 2: and I said, you know, pro bowler, and I was
- 33:40Speaker 2: I was poop pooed. Why Why wouldn't I think.
- 33:44Speaker 6: Because he's like thirty fifth in receiving, Like, what does
- 33:47Speaker 6: that mean? So he's not a Pro Bowl he's not
- 33:49Speaker 6: one of the best receivers in football.
- 33:51Speaker 2: Thirty what what is that yards?
- 33:54Speaker 5: I think it was yards.
- 33:55Speaker 6: Yeah, I looked it up when you said it because
- 33:56Speaker 6: I wanted to make sure I wasn't like, and I
- 33:58Speaker 6: didn't poo poo you. I just I don't think so
- 34:01Speaker 6: Like he catches like two passes a game. Now, he's
- 34:04Speaker 6: doing everything that you're asking him to do for the Patriots.
- 34:07Speaker 6: He's been immense, But that doesn't make him justin.
- 34:10Speaker 2: Jefferson, I didn't say he was.
- 34:12Speaker 6: Those are Pro Bowl like Jamar Chase, those are Pro
- 34:14Speaker 6: Bowl receivers.
- 34:15Speaker 2: Yeah, but more than two guys make the Pro Bowl. Look,
- 34:19Speaker 2: I know I know that guy on.
- 34:22Speaker 6: TV, as you like to say to Mike and I
- 34:24Speaker 6: when we do that, they can't see no.
- 34:26Speaker 2: But I just think the type of plays that he's
- 34:29Speaker 2: making I think is raising eyebrows around the league he's
- 34:32Speaker 2: playing with. People are like, this guy's money, he's guys.
- 34:35Speaker 6: He's played well, But that doesn't mean that you are
- 34:37Speaker 6: one of the best receivers in football. That's what Pro
- 34:40Speaker 6: Bowl means, that's what all Pro meets.
- 34:42Speaker 2: I think he's getting up there.
- 34:43Speaker 4: I think I don't even think he's sniffing it. I
- 34:45Speaker 4: think it's it's gonna be interesting to see what happens
- 34:49Speaker 4: once teams realize that you can't leave him one on
- 34:51Speaker 4: one backside anymore, because like every week they just keep
- 34:55Speaker 4: on leaving him one on one backside on the coverage
- 34:58Speaker 4: and him and Drake Mayer just absolutely torching teams.
- 35:01Speaker 3: And I just at some point they're gonna have to
- 35:03Speaker 3: do something different.
- 35:04Speaker 6: Like that's a good point. I'm not even taking that
- 35:06Speaker 6: away from him. I'm just saying, like you he's like, like, literally,
- 35:11Speaker 6: I look this up. He was like thirty fifth and
- 35:13Speaker 6: either yards or receptions, one of the two. Okay, Like,
- 35:17Speaker 6: if you you have to be like in the at
- 35:19Speaker 6: least in the top ten.
- 35:21Speaker 2: But I consideration, I think if he keeps up this pace,
- 35:23Speaker 2: he'll be close to one thousand yards, right you will.
- 35:27Speaker 4: I mean, he's one of the most efficient receivers in
- 35:29Speaker 4: the league in terms of eight catch on a per
- 35:32Speaker 4: target basis. He's one of the most efficient receivers in
- 35:35Speaker 4: football right now. But I think the main thing is
- 35:37Speaker 4: that they're seeing a lot of you know, quarters coverage
- 35:40Speaker 4: where he's one on one on the backside with the
- 35:43Speaker 4: corners and he's just he's just beating these guys. Now,
- 35:47Speaker 4: how long does he get that one on one coverage
- 35:49Speaker 4: and do they start putting you know, cloud coverage and
- 35:52Speaker 4: all the different things that double booty right, Like what
- 35:54Speaker 4: do they do to take that away?
- 35:56Speaker 3: Because in New Orleans he did it to him twice.
- 36:00Speaker 4: In Tennessee they hit a bomb and then last week
- 36:02Speaker 4: they hit a bomb and it's like at some point
- 36:04Speaker 4: you got to look up and say, booties too, like
- 36:07Speaker 4: we can't do this, Like this is going to burn us.
- 36:09Speaker 4: And the double move that he ran on on Sunday
- 36:13Speaker 4: was an awesome route.
- 36:14Speaker 3: You know, gave him a little you know and then
- 36:16Speaker 3: go and it was just like it was pitch and cad.
- 36:21Speaker 4: It was literally like, I mean that throw is just
- 36:25Speaker 4: is just such a thing of beauty watching Drake May
- 36:27Speaker 4: throw a deep ball. It's he's the best deep ball
- 36:30Speaker 4: thrower in football. He really is, and it's just it's
- 36:33Speaker 4: fun to watch. Their their second right now in the league.
- 36:36Speaker 4: And explosive play rate uh on offense. I have the
- 36:39Speaker 4: second most explosive passing offense in football, and so you Sai,
- 36:43Speaker 4: that's crazy.
- 36:44Speaker 6: During the game that I think was very apt, we
- 36:47Speaker 6: both had a laugh about it. He's kind of Chris Hogan, Yeah,
- 36:52Speaker 6: like where he just gets this cloak of invisibility.
- 36:54Speaker 2: No, I guess I said, pop is the news Chris Hogh.
- 36:58Speaker 6: Okay, I think Booty is the guy.
- 37:00Speaker 2: He's making these These are great catches. Some of them
- 37:03Speaker 2: are contested.
- 37:04Speaker 6: I didn't say that.
- 37:05Speaker 2: Well, the thing about Hogan is he'd be wide open,
- 37:08Speaker 2: there'd be no one near it.
- 37:09Speaker 6: Booty was wide open. He's been wide open a lot.
- 37:11Speaker 6: He was wide open.
- 37:12Speaker 4: He was wide open in Cleveland.
- 37:14Speaker 2: The touchdown he caught, he wasn't wide open.
- 37:17Speaker 6: It was I agree with Evan, it's a great throw
- 37:19Speaker 6: by Drake May just because he's wide open. Doesn't mean
- 37:21Speaker 6: it's not a great throw, but it was a great
- 37:24Speaker 6: double move and he burned the guy he's like three
- 37:26Speaker 6: yards behind.
- 37:26Speaker 2: Catch down the sideline.
- 37:27Speaker 4: And I was saying, like the difference between him and Hogan,
- 37:31Speaker 4: like Hogan was literally running through the zones wide open.
- 37:35Speaker 2: Why do you just let him say? Yeah, I enjoy
- 37:39Speaker 2: his I enjoyed. What did I say, He's not always
- 37:42Speaker 2: wide open.
- 37:43Speaker 6: I'm talking about those two I didn't say every play.
- 37:46Speaker 5: I just said those two deep.
- 37:47Speaker 2: Balls, he was wide open.
- 37:49Speaker 5: He gets credit for that.
- 37:50Speaker 6: Okay, he made like that he was open on the
- 37:52Speaker 6: place Sunday, because.
- 37:55Speaker 2: Is when you're like standing in the field.
- 37:57Speaker 5: I thought you were talking about Booty.
- 37:58Speaker 6: Talking about bath whole cloth of invisibility is irrelevant because
- 38:01Speaker 6: you were talking about a different guy. I misremembered. That
- 38:04Speaker 6: was my bad clue. It was a push, But I
- 38:07Speaker 6: get Booty or whatever. No, no, no, I'm talking about Booty.
- 38:11Speaker 2: I I think he's own little conversation.
- 38:15Speaker 5: I think he made a great double move on that play.
- 38:18Speaker 6: Like that's like, that's that's his his job. I mean
- 38:23Speaker 6: he's on pace for like forty six catches. That's a
- 38:26Speaker 6: pro bowler. I mean, I'm sorry, he got five, he's
- 38:28Speaker 6: got twenty three. Yeah, five, Yeah, now you get the ten.
- 38:32Speaker 3: I mean, he's leading in the league deeperception.
- 38:34Speaker 6: So let's just let's just double his stats and say
- 38:37Speaker 6: he gets let's just call it fifty catches for nine
- 38:40Speaker 6: hundred yards and ten touchdowns.
- 38:42Speaker 5: That's not a pro bowler. I'm sorry, it's just not.
- 38:44Speaker 2: Oh, after other people drop out, he'll he'll.
- 38:47Speaker 5: Go by other people.
- 38:48Speaker 6: Do you mean all the other receivers in the league,
- 38:50Speaker 6: all of them all, Diggs is going to end up
- 38:54Speaker 6: with better numbers, the hyperbole. Diggs is going to end
- 38:59Speaker 6: up with better numbers. Do you think Diggs has had
- 39:01Speaker 6: a Pro Bowl season? Because I don't, But.
- 39:04Speaker 2: I just think I think the types of catches Booty,
- 39:06Speaker 2: Like you said, ten touchdowns, that's pretty good, Sure, pretty good.
- 39:11Speaker 6: You know it's pretty.
- 39:12Speaker 2: Good, comeback player of the year, breakout.
- 39:16Speaker 6: I'm justum, I just find it amazing that you find
- 39:20Speaker 6: a way like it's like three different things.
- 39:22Speaker 5: It's like, let's nitpick and get an argument.
- 39:26Speaker 7: Can good?
- 39:28Speaker 5: Yes, yes, if.
- 39:29Speaker 6: We're arguing, if he's like, if we're I've been incredibly
- 39:34Speaker 6: impressed with his performance this year, more so off the field. Yeah,
- 39:39Speaker 6: I'm incredibly impressed with his maturity that he's shown this year.
- 39:42Speaker 3: So do you want his seventeen game pace since now.
- 39:45Speaker 6: I'm going to say, fifty two catches for nine hundred
- 39:48Speaker 6: and twenty yards in ten and a half touchdowns.
- 39:51Speaker 4: Very close, forty eight point nine catches, So forty nine
- 39:54Speaker 4: catches close, nine hundred and sixteen yards and ten and
- 39:58Speaker 4: a half.
- 39:59Speaker 2: But he's picked up the pace. His pace is getting fast.
- 40:02Speaker 3: Well, he opened the season with one hundred yards.
- 40:04Speaker 6: I was going to say, it's not like you can
- 40:06Speaker 6: say those things, but it's really not accurate.
- 40:08Speaker 3: So all right, he's been very good.
- 40:11Speaker 6: He's been extremely valuable.
- 40:14Speaker 2: PFW headlines and when after a good offensive game may
- 40:20Speaker 2: digs booty.
- 40:22Speaker 4: Yeah, nice, you like that? Like that better than like
- 40:27Speaker 4: pop Star. I feel like he reminds me more of
- 40:30Speaker 4: like a Brandon LaFell than Chris Hogan. Like his style
- 40:35Speaker 4: was more he's he's a pure x, like he's playing
- 40:38Speaker 4: on the outside and he's playing the X spot. Hogan
- 40:41Speaker 4: was like a movable piece, like they wud move him
- 40:43Speaker 4: inside to move him outside.
- 40:45Speaker 5: I get the Hogan thing. It was he was talking
- 40:47Speaker 5: about pop Douglas.
- 40:48Speaker 6: I messed, yeah, that one mess that.
- 40:52Speaker 3: I also don't really understand that one either.
- 40:54Speaker 4: He used to just run deep balls and no one
- 40:56Speaker 4: would cover it.
- 40:57Speaker 3: I know I.
- 40:57Speaker 6: Used to say he wore a cloak of invisibility, but
- 41:00Speaker 6: that's what he was talking about with Pop Douglas on
- 41:02Speaker 6: that play.
- 41:02Speaker 3: Very different players, yes, but not style.
- 41:05Speaker 4: It's just talking about getting open.
- 41:07Speaker 6: We're not talking about styles. Set the whole up because
- 41:13Speaker 6: you have to have an identity for every one of these.
- 41:16Speaker 6: Like I don't care what the name of the plays
- 41:18Speaker 6: that Josh McDaniels was.
- 41:21Speaker 4: I I just loved the mix of of how.
- 41:25Speaker 6: It got the the Browns off like off balance in well,
- 41:30Speaker 6: like he's changing directions.
- 41:32Speaker 2: They are not easy to defend.
- 41:33Speaker 7: We've come full circle for it finally happened.
- 41:36Speaker 3: We agree, Did we find it?
- 41:38Speaker 2: Did we unlock anything with all these toss plays and
- 41:42Speaker 2: getting to the outside, I.
- 41:44Speaker 3: Think a little bit.
- 41:44Speaker 4: I think, uh, you know with Travon Henderson definitely looks
- 41:48Speaker 4: more comfortable getting the ball outside and playing in space,
- 41:51Speaker 4: which I think we all could have seen coming. But
- 41:54Speaker 4: we talked about this a little bit the other week,
- 41:56Speaker 4: like it's not like the schemes are all that different.
- 41:59Speaker 4: They just were starting to toss it to him instead
- 42:01Speaker 4: of just handing it off to him and trying to
- 42:03Speaker 4: get him to get the corner himself. They were just
- 42:06Speaker 4: kind of making it easier for him to.
- 42:08Speaker 3: Get out there.
- 42:09Speaker 4: And then you hope that as teams start to overplay
- 42:12Speaker 4: the tosses, now the stuff up the middle will open
- 42:15Speaker 4: up a little bit, and that's how you can scheme
- 42:17Speaker 4: it up. I also thought that he had a really
- 42:19Speaker 4: good blitz pick up in this game on one of
- 42:21Speaker 4: mac Collins's catches, which was a sign of growth too. Obviously,
- 42:25Speaker 4: the fumbles, you know, two steps forward, one step back
- 42:28Speaker 4: there at the end, but I thought that this was
- 42:31Speaker 4: from a usage usage standpoint, it was highly encouraging, like
- 42:36Speaker 4: this is how they probably should have been using him
- 42:39Speaker 4: from the start, and now that they found this out,
- 42:42Speaker 4: hopefully that leads to more results down you know, down
- 42:45Speaker 4: the line here, and then hopefully they can get him
- 42:48Speaker 4: a little bit more involved in the passing game too,
- 42:50Speaker 4: and and you know, do that sort of thing as well.
- 42:52Speaker 4: But I definitely think that they found a little bit
- 42:55Speaker 4: of something and now it's just another thing that defenses
- 42:57Speaker 4: are going to have to plan for and have to
- 42:59Speaker 4: you know, in their heads as well, so they had
- 43:02Speaker 4: a couple of you know, play action tosses off the
- 43:05Speaker 4: toss action that they got open receivers off of, so
- 43:08Speaker 4: all of it is was kind of encouraging.
- 43:12Speaker 2: All Right, We've got a lot to talk about, and
- 43:13Speaker 2: I'm sure our listeners want to get in on the conversations.
- 43:17Speaker 2: So let's open it up. A five five pass five
- 43:19Speaker 2: hundred is the hotline podcast at Patriots dot com. Is
- 43:24Speaker 2: the email that's how you get in touch with us.
- 43:26Speaker 2: Let's start with the phone bank. We'll start with Anthony
- 43:30Speaker 2: and Seattle. What's up, Anthony, Anthony? Anthony, Yeah.
- 43:42Speaker 10: First, so I'm like, oh.
- 43:44Speaker 2: Yeah, I was on you, brit no problem.
- 43:46Speaker 10: Hey, listen, I got I got two things today and
- 43:50Speaker 10: then I'll hang up and listen. So I'll get these these.
- 43:52Speaker 10: I got one for uh, one thing for Evan, and
- 43:55Speaker 10: then uh, Paul, I've got one item for submission for
- 43:59Speaker 10: review into a Carillo's School of Clock Management. Though it
- 44:03Speaker 10: might be more of a situational football you might have
- 44:06Speaker 10: to transfer me to the situational football department.
- 44:08Speaker 2: It's one of the same with Paul. Yeah, go ahead,
- 44:10Speaker 2: he can hear.
- 44:11Speaker 10: Hey, hen, Nicky, important thing you had talked about it
- 44:16Speaker 10: a while back. On catch twenty two, and you kind
- 44:20Speaker 10: of confirmed what I kind of felt like I was seeing.
- 44:22Speaker 10: But you had talked about, you know, Drake May he
- 44:26Speaker 10: had been sacked twelve times at the time, and it
- 44:28Speaker 10: was like for like forty eight yards, and I go, yeah,
- 44:30Speaker 10: that seems about right, because with this new found learned
- 44:34Speaker 10: ability to not drift in the pocket if he goes
- 44:37Speaker 10: right or you know, left or right, he's escaping to throw,
- 44:39Speaker 10: but he's learned to step into the pocket and then
- 44:42Speaker 10: he's either stepping in and deliver a pass or he's
- 44:44Speaker 10: taken off and he's going forward. And when neither of
- 44:47Speaker 10: those is an option, when he gets backed, he's getting
- 44:49Speaker 10: stack going forward. And then so I'm seeing a lot
- 44:52Speaker 10: of like second and thirteen, second and fourteen, and then
- 44:55Speaker 10: you know, with the offense that they've been playing, they
- 44:58Speaker 10: convert those within the next couple So that's the speaking
- 45:01Speaker 10: big thing. How you can have one of the most
- 45:03Speaker 10: stacked quarterbacks and still have one of the best offenses
- 45:06Speaker 10: in football. And I had Paul. So this one, I'm
- 45:11Speaker 10: gonna be quick. Okay, I know the game was over, Okay,
- 45:14Speaker 10: but as a football fan, if the Patriots did this,
- 45:16Speaker 10: ib Ira and I know you're gonna know where I'm
- 45:19Speaker 10: going with this. Cleveland is down to thirty to seven.
- 45:24Speaker 10: They go down the field and you get a touchdown,
- 45:27Speaker 10: you get a score to make it a two score game,
- 45:30Speaker 10: except you don't make it a two score game because
- 45:34Speaker 10: for some reason you want to go for two to
- 45:36Speaker 10: make it fifteen instead of just taking your extra point
- 45:39Speaker 10: and making a two score game. And ah, by the way,
- 45:43Speaker 10: you recovered an on side kick, so you could have
- 45:46Speaker 10: had the ball down two scores with the ball with
- 45:50Speaker 10: a sliver of pope, I will.
- 45:51Speaker 11: Hang up and listen.
- 45:53Speaker 2: Thanks you.
- 45:53Speaker 6: And then the on side kick didn't happen after the
- 45:56Speaker 6: touchdown that they recovered.
- 45:57Speaker 5: It was after the safety. But I agree with Anthony.
- 46:01Speaker 6: They and I said it live like you have a
- 46:04Speaker 6: chance to get within sixteen. Take it. I mean the
- 46:07Speaker 6: game was over. He's right, Anthony. Everything Anthony said is
- 46:09Speaker 6: one hundred percent right. And so the whole fourteen thing
- 46:14Speaker 6: like that just I don't know if everybody was paying attention.
- 46:18Speaker 6: They had a chance to kick an extra point and
- 46:19Speaker 6: make it sixteen, just like Anthony said, which technically gives
- 46:22Speaker 6: you two possessions, and you can do it if you
- 46:25Speaker 6: miss the two point in you don't get anything out
- 46:28Speaker 6: of the fifteen fifteen sixteen is really not a huge difference.
- 46:32Speaker 6: Sixteen and seventeen is an enormous difference. So I don't
- 46:36Speaker 6: really understand that. I hate the whole fourteen thing that
- 46:39Speaker 6: everybody does. Now, the Jets just executed it perfectly and
- 46:42Speaker 6: won a game with it. They went for two and
- 46:44Speaker 6: the first one got it kicked the extra point one
- 46:47Speaker 6: thirty nine thirty eight. I don't like it, but at
- 46:50Speaker 6: least I understand I'm scoring a touchdown to get within
- 46:54Speaker 6: a score. I'm going for two to try to get
- 46:56Speaker 6: to within six. But I'm still within a score even
- 46:58Speaker 6: if I miss, risking having to have an additional score.
- 47:04Speaker 6: So I don't like it, but at least that makes
- 47:08Speaker 6: logical sense. I'm only I'm getting within one score either
- 47:10Speaker 6: way this and again, I know the game was over.
- 47:14Speaker 6: You know, they're probably just working on two point plays
- 47:17Speaker 6: at that point, trying to get some practice and whatever.
- 47:20Speaker 6: But I think you should if you're planning on on
- 47:23Speaker 6: side kick, you should play it out and try to
- 47:26Speaker 6: do it that way. But just as a clarific you know, cleary, clarify, clarify,
- 47:32Speaker 6: they did the on side kick after the touchdown and
- 47:35Speaker 6: didn't get it. It was after the safety, after the
- 47:40Speaker 6: Henderson fumble. They got a safety and then they did
- 47:42Speaker 6: a free kick. That's when they got the on side kick.
- 47:45Speaker 6: That's when they recovered. And evidently Mike Mike not happy
- 47:48Speaker 6: with Austin Hooper on that play based on yeah, based
- 47:52Speaker 6: on his comments best on Mike's comments about the on
- 47:54Speaker 6: side kick recovery, he did not call Hooper out individually.
- 47:58Speaker 6: But that's the guy who.
- 48:00Speaker 4: Because usually when it when they they bounce it like
- 48:04Speaker 4: that in the air, you need to go get the ball,
- 48:06Speaker 4: you know what when it bounces.
- 48:07Speaker 2: Like you don't.
- 48:10Speaker 4: You got to hit somebody because you got to go
- 48:12Speaker 4: get the ball. Whereas like sometimes they just like go
- 48:17Speaker 4: down the line and pick a guy and just kick
- 48:19Speaker 4: it right at him and hopefully it bounces off of
- 48:21Speaker 4: them and like that. But that's when you like wait
- 48:24Speaker 4: on it like a grounder in baseball and you.
- 48:25Speaker 3: Kind of attack it, right.
- 48:28Speaker 4: But yeah, the the whole like extra point thing, it's
- 48:33Speaker 4: just a philosophical We don't have to like get into
- 48:36Speaker 4: the whole debate, but like is being down is it
- 48:40Speaker 4: two scores? When you need to get too extra point?
- 48:44Speaker 4: Two point conversions.
- 48:46Speaker 2: I look at it. I look at it as clock,
- 48:48Speaker 2: like the clock isn't running when you go for those
- 48:50Speaker 2: two And I hear that argument, you know.
- 48:53Speaker 4: I think a lot of people look at Okay, you
- 48:55Speaker 4: need two touchdowns and two point two point to get time, right,
- 49:00Speaker 4: that's not truly a two score game.
- 49:03Speaker 6: It is, but it is.
- 49:05Speaker 3: I'm possessed. I actually am on your side on this one.
- 49:08Speaker 6: Right, because you can't possibly not be like the fourteen
- 49:11Speaker 6: twenty can make. You can make an argument about it,
- 49:14Speaker 6: but you you need to possess the ball twice to
- 49:19Speaker 6: score sixteen points, yep, to score seventeen, you need to
- 49:22Speaker 6: get it three times, right. I don't care what your
- 49:25Speaker 6: extra points are. You need the ball three times. There's
- 49:28Speaker 6: a difference there, there is, and it's not. I mean again,
- 49:31Speaker 6: if Stefanski might have been looking at it, say I
- 49:33Speaker 6: got a young quarterback making his fourth start, he could
- 49:36Speaker 6: you know, well, we're going to play this out, we're
- 49:38Speaker 6: going to use the two point conversion as practice. And
- 49:40Speaker 6: if that was his rationale, I have no problem with it.
- 49:43Speaker 6: But if you're actually trying to win the game, that
- 49:45Speaker 6: makes no sense.
- 49:46Speaker 2: What you did. Christians in la Hey Christian Christian.
- 49:54Speaker 1: Oh yeah, oh.
- 49:55Speaker 12: Yes, I just want to quickly okay, and this is
- 50:01Speaker 12: a big deal to me, is that do you guys
- 50:04Speaker 12: realize what happened the other day? Do you guys realize
- 50:07Speaker 12: that we please, it's not the best defense in the league.
- 50:14Speaker 2: We didn't realize that. No, I didn't know what's going
- 50:20Speaker 2: on with your phone?
- 50:21Speaker 5: D a good defense and play good offense?
- 50:24Speaker 2: What are you doing talk into the phone? Well, okay,
- 50:28Speaker 2: get us off speaker.
- 50:30Speaker 7: His heart's not in it today.
- 50:31Speaker 6: I don't think it's like the guy that we're.
- 50:33Speaker 2: Gonna move on.
- 50:35Speaker 6: Into the sports Hub. Last week, it is like, I'm
- 50:37Speaker 6: from Cleveland. I don't know like Miles Garrett He's he's right, thanks,
- 50:41Speaker 6: you need.
- 50:41Speaker 2: To be from Cleveland. Oh no, I actually had somebody
- 50:43Speaker 2: on the block, you know, uh that said, you know,
- 50:47Speaker 2: Miles Garrett is is one of the best players. And
- 50:49Speaker 2: you know I've been saying that all week. I'm like, oh,
- 50:52Speaker 2: you're the one that that's been saying that. Kirk's in Delaware, Hey, Kirk, Kirk.
- 51:02Speaker 2: These people aren't ready today. What's going on? Kirk?
- 51:05Speaker 5: Yeah, it's not happy.
- 51:08Speaker 4: I think he'd be much happier with a five game
- 51:10Speaker 4: I think it's my fault, all right.
- 51:12Speaker 2: Kirk's gone, Kirk's gone. I can't, we can't. We can't
- 51:16Speaker 2: have these pre snap penalties fall start. These are pre
- 51:20Speaker 2: snap penalties unaccepted. That's on the player. That's on the player.
- 51:26Speaker 2: Randall's in Texas, Hey Randall.
- 51:29Speaker 13: What's going on? Boys?
- 51:31Speaker 6: That's how you do it? Good, solid five yard Ronnie
- 51:35Speaker 6: was ready to go.
- 51:35Speaker 2: Mess with don't mess with Texas.
- 51:39Speaker 13: I was gonna say, isn't it crazy how we have
- 51:41Speaker 13: Margus Jones pace for three years now or three more
- 51:44Speaker 13: years now and now? It was kind of like, yes, too,
- 51:46Speaker 13: elite quarters, is it weird to say that we have
- 51:48Speaker 13: wouldn't might be better than Christian Gonzalez a little bit
- 51:51Speaker 13: or just as good as him. Honestly, I feel like
- 51:53Speaker 13: you've been playing good. He's really good, really really good.
- 51:58Speaker 13: No one's talking about them, but well the.
- 52:00Speaker 2: Team definitely noticed. Yeah.
- 52:02Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean he's seen a lot of action. I
- 52:03Speaker 9: mean I think that's just we talk about him every week. Yeah,
- 52:05Speaker 9: being part of being on the slot, like Paul said,
- 52:07Speaker 9: I mean, he's just he's involved in so much.
- 52:09Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 52:09Speaker 3: Yeah, that's a huge mental and physical undertaking playing in there.
- 52:14Speaker 14: Yeah.
- 52:15Speaker 13: Yeah, in the trio of Marcus, Donzo and Davis is
- 52:17Speaker 13: like pretty underrage and honestly, all right, thanks Randall.
- 52:22Speaker 4: I know it's underrated. I think a lot of people
- 52:24Speaker 4: know it's a really good cornerback trio and just Stat's
- 52:27Speaker 4: kind of buried out. They don't throw at him, like
- 52:29Speaker 4: they really don't throw at Davis or Gonzo all that much.
- 52:32Speaker 4: You know, Gonzo was targeted more in this game and
- 52:35Speaker 4: kind of dominated and looked like his old self, which
- 52:37Speaker 4: was a really good sign, I thought, and laughing at
- 52:39Speaker 4: Jerry Judy, who you know.
- 52:41Speaker 6: What was that about? Which thinks it is good?
- 52:44Speaker 3: Like do you think you're gonna beat me with that?
- 52:46Speaker 2: Come on?
- 52:46Speaker 6: This was like what I was talking about, Like I
- 52:49Speaker 6: I want to see some of some of this stuff,
- 52:51Speaker 6: and what they've done has been impressive, I don't know
- 52:56Speaker 6: how difficult, you know. I want to say they've faced
- 53:01Speaker 6: the thirty fourth, thirty third, thirty second, and thirty first
- 53:06Speaker 6: and twenty ninth rated passers in football or something like that.
- 53:09Speaker 6: I mean they've played they've played eight games, and they've
- 53:11Speaker 6: played five of the most wretched passing attacks in football
- 53:15Speaker 6: that you that you could see, you know, like Sunday,
- 53:20Speaker 6: like I agree with you guys. You got we all
- 53:22Speaker 6: We talked about Gonzalez a little bit on the in
- 53:24Speaker 6: the postgame show, and I kind of, you know, I
- 53:27Speaker 6: wasn't as effusive in my praise because he's locking up
- 53:30Speaker 6: Jerome Forde like what like they have not like this
- 53:35Speaker 6: is not Gonzalez's fault. Again, just like I don't blame
- 53:37Speaker 6: Drake may for completing seventy plus percent of his passes
- 53:40Speaker 6: every week, not his fault. They're dominating. But who are
- 53:44Speaker 6: they dominating? Sure, that's that'd been.
- 53:47Speaker 3: My only Judy's a good player, but they don't have
- 53:49Speaker 3: a quarterback.
- 53:49Speaker 6: Not this year. He hasn't been a good player, and
- 53:51Speaker 6: they doesn't the quarterbacks.
- 53:53Speaker 4: Yeah, I mean that might be why.
- 53:55Speaker 9: Like by me, almost what stood out most of Gonzalez
- 53:57Speaker 9: was just how well he came up and tackled in
- 53:59Speaker 9: like his physicality and not a lot of yards And
- 54:01Speaker 9: you know, those are the things to me impresses me
- 54:03Speaker 9: with that. Sure, I just those things. In the first
- 54:06Speaker 9: few weeks he was back, it seemed a little slow
- 54:08Speaker 9: to click. It seemed like the tackles were a little
- 54:09Speaker 9: bit more unsure or later or broken, and that that
- 54:13Speaker 9: was more to me than even the coverage, Like, I
- 54:15Speaker 9: just it's that's the Gonzales I remember playing.
- 54:17Speaker 7: At a high level.
- 54:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I think I think he's like I think he's
- 54:20Speaker 2: one hundred percent confident now, Like.
- 54:22Speaker 6: The Gonzales play against Buffalo. To me is that it's
- 54:25Speaker 6: vintage and zounds like the one to knock away the
- 54:28Speaker 6: pastor she care, that's what I could play. You know,
- 54:30Speaker 6: she cares a pretty good player. I don't not not
- 54:33Speaker 6: a Pro Bowl or anything like that.
- 54:34Speaker 1: He's not.
- 54:35Speaker 2: Yeah, Boody, I took the words out of my than well,
- 54:40Speaker 2: you know part of it for me.
- 54:41Speaker 6: Those twos you just know, you see the re run
- 54:44Speaker 6: like I like them, So I looked it up. Either way,
- 54:47Speaker 6: he's twenty sixth in yards. He's not in the top
- 54:49Speaker 6: fifty in receptions.
- 54:51Speaker 15: This thing was not with.
- 54:52Speaker 9: Gonzo though, that I like about some of the physicality
- 54:55Speaker 9: showed us, just like the style that these guys play
- 54:57Speaker 9: with under Vrabel. I don't necessarily know Gonzalez is totally
- 55:01Speaker 9: that guy. If he's totally that kind of fiery, aggressive
- 55:05Speaker 9: personality player, I think he plays.
- 55:06Speaker 6: That's why I like that.
- 55:07Speaker 2: But I like, like, I like a little of the physicality.
- 55:10Speaker 7: That's the solid tackling.
- 55:12Speaker 9: I think those are things that will appeal to Vrabel
- 55:14Speaker 9: and say this is you know, look, he's never going
- 55:16Speaker 9: to be that aggressive in your face scream, but he
- 55:18Speaker 9: can play tough and physicals.
- 55:20Speaker 5: Had to come over and like drag him away.
- 55:23Speaker 14: I like that.
- 55:24Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I like stuff to calm down. And they're
- 55:27Speaker 3: running so much.
- 55:28Speaker 4: You know, they run so much zone in this system,
- 55:30Speaker 4: and I don't care for it necessarily, but it's the
- 55:33Speaker 4: defense that they're running, and they run a lot of
- 55:36Speaker 4: this guy's zone. So him finding ways to make plays
- 55:39Speaker 4: in zone, which has not always been his specialty, but
- 55:42Speaker 4: also just it's just not his forte and uh, you know,
- 55:45Speaker 4: I thought the one that he came up and and
- 55:48Speaker 4: not the guy knocked the ball out of the guy's hands,
- 55:50Speaker 4: you know, playing the flat there, it was it was
- 55:53Speaker 4: a really good play, you know, kind of just took
- 55:55Speaker 4: away the deeper one, kind of like similar to the
- 55:57Speaker 4: one we talked about with Marcus Jones before.
- 55:59Speaker 6: Those guys were good Sunday.
- 56:01Speaker 3: Yeah, and that those types of plays, that's that's good
- 56:04Speaker 3: to see.
- 56:04Speaker 4: But are they again were I think it was like
- 56:07Speaker 4: seventy percent zone in this game, and like, look, you're
- 56:10Speaker 4: facing a young quarterback.
- 56:12Speaker 6: You're trying to spin the dial on. Well, I'm not
- 56:14Speaker 6: taking any points away from them. Yeah, I mean I
- 56:17Speaker 6: want to see it against some of the better teams,
- 56:20Speaker 6: but I'm not going to take points away because they're
- 56:22Speaker 6: dominating against you know, pedestrian passing games.
- 56:25Speaker 3: I just keep going back to the Buffalo game.
- 56:27Speaker 4: Sorry, that's all right, Like they played forty percent man
- 56:31Speaker 4: in Buffalo, and they challenge the Bills receivers in man
- 56:34Speaker 4: to man with Gonzo back, and like when they face
- 56:37Speaker 4: good quarterbacks, I still think they're going to go to that,
- 56:40Speaker 4: and that makes me feel a little bit better. The
- 56:43Speaker 4: last couple of weeks, it's been a lot of zone
- 56:45Speaker 4: and they're kind of just looking at these young quarterbacks like,
- 56:48Speaker 4: are you going to read it out? Are you going
- 56:49Speaker 4: to find the openings? Are you going to consistently hit
- 56:52Speaker 4: the windows? Like we have confidence that you're not.
- 56:54Speaker 9: I just want to ask you what you thought of
- 56:56Speaker 9: And I read the next gen pressure rates for the defense,
- 57:00Speaker 9: which was pretty high.
- 57:01Speaker 7: Yeah, and so I'm kind of stuck.
- 57:03Speaker 9: I'd be interested to see a what you saw on
- 57:06Speaker 9: how PFF created it out, But like it just seems
- 57:08Speaker 9: to me like they're ranking highly in pressure, but it's
- 57:11Speaker 9: not really affecting the quarterback.
- 57:13Speaker 4: So I think in this game they tried to put
- 57:15Speaker 4: him in the trash compactor because he's five eleven and
- 57:17Speaker 4: can't see over the line of scrimmage. So they were
- 57:20Speaker 4: trying to just kind of push the pocket and suffocate
- 57:24Speaker 4: the pocket around him. And what ended up happening was
- 57:26Speaker 4: is that you can see him back there, and he
- 57:28Speaker 4: ended up having to get out of the pocket because
- 57:30Speaker 4: he literally couldn't see over the line of scrimmage.
- 57:34Speaker 6: And that's what cost them an opportunity to make a
- 57:37Speaker 6: big play after the interception the pass to Isaiah Bond. Yeah,
- 57:42Speaker 6: he shouldn't have had to leave the pocket on that play.
- 57:44Speaker 6: He should have just thrown it, but he probably couldn't see.
- 57:46Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 57:46Speaker 6: Yeah, so they.
- 57:48Speaker 4: You know, Chase on bar More, Williams Tonga all day long.
- 57:52Speaker 4: They're just bul rushing. They're just speed to power press
- 57:55Speaker 4: the pocket and make him see over it, and he's
- 57:58Speaker 4: five foot eleven.
- 58:01Speaker 2: Anthony writes in on the podcast at Patriots dot Com email,
- 58:06Speaker 2: Josh McDaniels is a godsend. He has so many wrinkles
- 58:09Speaker 2: off the same formation. He was just as important to
- 58:12Speaker 2: hire as Vrabel Do we agree. I don't know. It's
- 58:19Speaker 2: so the head coach is the head coach.
- 58:21Speaker 4: You're scratching two different inches there, like the head coaches
- 58:24Speaker 4: setting culture, setting tone, you know, making sure everything's orchestrated
- 58:30Speaker 4: from a CEO type level, like McDaniels is. I think
- 58:34Speaker 4: what is making McDaniels thrive, other than having Drake may,
- 58:37Speaker 4: which is obviously huge, is that like he just has
- 58:40Speaker 4: to go in the lab, like he's not being asked
- 58:42Speaker 4: to do any of the you know, higher level head
- 58:45Speaker 4: coaching responsibilities or anything like that. He's just game planning
- 58:50Speaker 4: and drawn up plays and doing what he does best.
- 58:52Speaker 4: So without one, you can't really have the other because
- 58:56Speaker 4: then there'd be more on mcdaniels's play.
- 58:58Speaker 9: I mean along those lines, you know, Christian Barmore didn't
- 59:00Speaker 9: play in the first quarter, Mike Rabel, that's something the
- 59:02Speaker 9: head coach has to do. Any feelings on that, were
- 59:05Speaker 9: you guys surprised by Barmore? Seems like Mike Rabel is,
- 59:09Speaker 9: we dealt with it.
- 59:10Speaker 7: We're moving on. It's in the past.
- 59:13Speaker 9: But those are the kind of things you're Radar is
- 59:15Speaker 9: always up up for, and you know with Barmore, who's
- 59:18Speaker 9: had some issues in the past.
- 59:19Speaker 7: I don't know.
- 59:19Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean, we still don't know what happens.
- 59:22Speaker 6: I'd like to have known someone.
- 59:23Speaker 4: I asked him, but yeah, he didn't want to talk.
- 59:26Speaker 4: I mean, yeah, we tried. So by after the game,
- 59:29Speaker 4: we're talking about Rabel or Barmore. Brabel, oh, that one
- 59:32Speaker 4: I can't speak to. But Barmore declined to talk to reporters.
- 59:35Speaker 2: I mean, so they've probably made an agreement. We're going
- 59:37Speaker 2: to keep it internal. But the fact that it was
- 59:39Speaker 2: a one quarter suspension probably speaks to the severity of it. Yeah,
- 59:45Speaker 2: you know, so it's probably more of a team rules
- 59:49Speaker 2: type of thing.
- 59:51Speaker 9: I think that's yeah, yeah, that's just the kind of
- 59:53Speaker 9: stuff though that Josh McDaniels doesn't have to worry about it.
- 59:56Speaker 4: The offensive coordinator, he you know, well, I just think
- 59:58Speaker 4: it's you know, that one and you know, along those
- 1:00:00Speaker 4: same lines like Kean White being a healthy scratch was
- 1:00:04Speaker 4: definitely eyebrow raising, especially given the trade deadline.
- 1:00:09Speaker 2: Team full of guys and things are going to happen
- 1:00:13Speaker 2: throughout the year, and that's part of the questions an
- 1:00:17Speaker 2: owner has to ask, you know, any head coach that
- 1:00:20Speaker 2: they're candidate. It's not the ex's and o's all these
- 1:00:24Speaker 2: most of these coaches, they know the ex's and o's,
- 1:00:26Speaker 2: it's what do you do, how do you discipline? What's
- 1:00:28Speaker 2: your culture? What do you do at three o'clock when
- 1:00:30Speaker 2: you get that phone call? How do you deal with that?
- 1:00:33Speaker 2: You know, that's just as important for an owner to
- 1:00:38Speaker 2: know about their head coach. Tyler from Ludlow. I know
- 1:00:41Speaker 2: the old timers like Fred and Paul have gotten questions
- 1:00:43Speaker 2: in the past about when they knew Brady became Brady.
- 1:00:47Speaker 2: Obviously it's too early to begin any real comparisons, but
- 1:00:50Speaker 2: does it feel like right now could be that moment
- 1:00:53Speaker 2: for Drake? We can revisit this when he wins six
- 1:00:56Speaker 2: Super Bowls, but what he is doing now feels real special.
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: It is really, do we know that this guy's going
- 1:01:03Speaker 2: to be great right now?
- 1:01:05Speaker 6: I don't. But what that doesn't mean that what he's
- 1:01:08Speaker 6: doing isn't special, Like I don't think that it's just
- 1:01:12Speaker 6: you know, a fluke to have, like, really seven consecutive games.
- 1:01:16Speaker 6: I would say the Pittsburgh game wasn't great. Statistically it was,
- 1:01:19Speaker 6: but it wasn't great. But the other six games, like
- 1:01:22Speaker 6: you'd be hard for you could count on one hand,
- 1:01:24Speaker 6: the amount, Oh Drake, what are you doing on that one?
- 1:01:26Speaker 6: You know, there's not too many mistakes, but you need
- 1:01:29Speaker 6: the spots, you need the moments.
- 1:01:30Speaker 9: Yeah, I mean I flashing back a little bit to
- 1:01:32Speaker 9: just the early days of Brady.
- 1:01:34Speaker 7: Being like is he really special?
- 1:01:36Speaker 9: Like you know, like you just you can't quite believe it,
- 1:01:39Speaker 9: and like part of me doesn't want to jinx Drake
- 1:01:41Speaker 9: and you know, be like this is it. But at
- 1:01:43Speaker 9: the same time, like, you know, has a guy ever
- 1:01:45Speaker 9: put a stretch together like this and then just fallen
- 1:01:47Speaker 9: completely back to earth and he's just an average, below
- 1:01:49Speaker 9: average quarterback that's hard to.
- 1:01:51Speaker 6: Stretch statistically like this, I would probably say no, But
- 1:01:54Speaker 6: I've seen guys play well for you know, whole seasons
- 1:01:57Speaker 6: and then not so well.
- 1:01:59Speaker 4: Yeah, I think that what's special about him is like
- 1:02:03Speaker 4: everything is on the menu. And if you're a coordinator
- 1:02:07Speaker 4: that you know, like Josh is really good at his job.
- 1:02:10Speaker 4: Like there's so many different things that you can do
- 1:02:13Speaker 4: to leverage Drake may against defenses that just make for
- 1:02:17Speaker 4: easy offense. Like you know, you can't run bootlegs with
- 1:02:20Speaker 4: a stationary pocket passer. You can't run you know, read
- 1:02:23Speaker 4: options and RPOs and things like that. You can't run
- 1:02:27Speaker 4: the offense as much out of the gun because he's
- 1:02:29Speaker 4: his own checkdown. So if you have to get into
- 1:02:32Speaker 4: a situation where there's nobody open downfield, well now he
- 1:02:35Speaker 4: can take off and he can scramble for a checkdown
- 1:02:37Speaker 4: instead of having to find a checkdown. So now you
- 1:02:39Speaker 4: almost like don't even need to program a check down
- 1:02:42Speaker 4: into the offense. So now you can put five guys
- 1:02:45Speaker 4: deep in the pattern and like the way that that
- 1:02:47Speaker 4: just like stresses defenses. Defenses are not built to cover
- 1:02:53Speaker 4: five downfield eligibles, Like they're not really built that way structurally.
- 1:02:58Speaker 4: Usually you have level to the concepts and you have
- 1:03:02Speaker 4: checkdowns that are kind of safety valves in the flats
- 1:03:04Speaker 4: that you can kind of forget about.
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: You know.
- 1:03:06Speaker 4: Now they can really stress the team down the field
- 1:03:09Speaker 4: because he's so mobile, And like, this is why these
- 1:03:12Speaker 4: types of quarterbacks are taking over the NFL is because
- 1:03:16Speaker 4: it's just so difficult to defend these types of guys.
- 1:03:19Speaker 4: So I don't know how that like, yeah, he might
- 1:03:21Speaker 4: not be this consistent for this long of a stretch
- 1:03:26Speaker 4: like he has been here, but his talent isn't going
- 1:03:28Speaker 4: to just evaporate. Nope, No, so like that that's always
- 1:03:31Speaker 4: going to be.
- 1:03:32Speaker 7: There's just injuries. That's the only real concern that you know, injury.
- 1:03:35Speaker 9: I mean it's kind of like Joe Burrow just is
- 1:03:37Speaker 9: never you know, he's always kind of fighting something.
- 1:03:39Speaker 7: And if Drake were to get hurt and lose some
- 1:03:41Speaker 7: of that mobility, that that.
- 1:03:43Speaker 9: But otherwise it's hard to come up with a reason
- 1:03:45Speaker 9: why he can't play at a high level. Maybe not
- 1:03:48Speaker 9: ridiculous like as he's been, but he looks.
- 1:03:51Speaker 7: Elite to me.
- 1:03:51Speaker 2: Travis and West Virginia. Fred. The lobe of your brain
- 1:03:55Speaker 2: that tells you Booty is a pro bowler must be
- 1:03:57Speaker 2: the same lobe that tells you pat Naguawama is an
- 1:04:00Speaker 2: interesting caller, Patty getting trapped.
- 1:04:03Speaker 5: Patty has gotten a lot of strange.
- 1:04:05Speaker 2: Yeah, calls in, loves the team. That's some questions. I
- 1:04:08Speaker 2: don't know, I don't know.
- 1:04:10Speaker 6: Yeah, that's tough.
- 1:04:12Speaker 2: All right, back to the phones eight five hundred. Let's see,
- 1:04:18Speaker 2: we'll go to uh Joe and Pennsylvania. Hey, Joe, Yojo, Hey.
- 1:04:22Speaker 16: Guys love the show.
- 1:04:24Speaker 17: And I'll just take it back on some of the
- 1:04:26Speaker 17: Josh McDaniels talk. And here's just some scenarios for you. Uh,
- 1:04:32Speaker 17: what if Josh McDaniels if he never left after twenty one?
- 1:04:36Speaker 17: Do you think still think Bill still be would still
- 1:04:38Speaker 17: be here? And maybe even mac Jones A good Questionnios.
- 1:04:42Speaker 17: The other two scenarios, what if Dre what if Gerrod
- 1:04:46Speaker 17: Mayo hired Josh? And then also to do you think
- 1:04:51Speaker 17: do you think Drake is an MVP candidate right now
- 1:04:53Speaker 17: without Josh McDaniels, say if they hired somebody else.
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: Well, I'd have to know who that's somebody else is. Yeah,
- 1:05:00Speaker 2: it's one of good.
- 1:05:03Speaker 6: Yeah, I do think that. I think he's because I
- 1:05:06Speaker 6: give more of the credit to the player, thanks Joe,
- 1:05:09Speaker 6: than anybody else. It doesn't mean I don't think Josh
- 1:05:11Speaker 6: mc chamons is doing a good job. Right, And I
- 1:05:13Speaker 6: just told you I thought Sunday was his best masterclass.
- 1:05:17Speaker 6: I thought that drive at the beginning of the third
- 1:05:19Speaker 6: quarter had to have at least something to do with
- 1:05:22Speaker 6: going in at halftime and talking about some different things
- 1:05:24Speaker 6: they were.
- 1:05:24Speaker 2: Going to do, like he was doing Ted talk on
- 1:05:26Speaker 2: the sideline.
- 1:05:27Speaker 6: That drive was so effective it looked like the opponent's
- 1:05:30Speaker 6: drive against the Patriots on the first drive every game.
- 1:05:32Speaker 2: Yeah, but his first question was a good one.
- 1:05:36Speaker 5: It's like, did I take it a little too far?
- 1:05:38Speaker 2: How would history be different if, instead of Patricia and
- 1:05:41Speaker 2: Judge being you know, elevated to the offense Josh McDaniel
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: stayed with Matt Jones for his second year.
- 1:05:50Speaker 6: That's an interest to his teams are very talent devoid.
- 1:05:53Speaker 9: I think they probably would have been better, but not
- 1:05:56Speaker 9: good enough to climb out of the basement.
- 1:05:58Speaker 7: It's kind of Evans thing.
- 1:05:59Speaker 9: I think it would get you into the middle of
- 1:06:01Speaker 9: the draft, but it wouldn't get you, Drake May, it
- 1:06:03Speaker 9: wouldn't catch you.
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: I just remember, like all the turmoil that having Patricia
- 1:06:10Speaker 2: as offensive coiner led to mac Jones asking questions being
- 1:06:14Speaker 2: put in the doghouse. Balachic wouldn't even mention this.
- 1:06:17Speaker 5: Dame Bill would still be here. Do you think that
- 1:06:19Speaker 5: regime would still be intact?
- 1:06:20Speaker 6: No, to me is the question.
- 1:06:22Speaker 3: I think Bill's problem was roster.
- 1:06:24Speaker 6: I don't like that.
- 1:06:25Speaker 4: I mean, obviously the decisions with the coordinators and stuff
- 1:06:28Speaker 4: was bad too, But the issue that I and I,
- 1:06:31Speaker 4: you know, something like it was kind of a cautionary tale.
- 1:06:34Speaker 4: And you know, Elliot Wolf was here for twenty one too,
- 1:06:36Speaker 4: so you kind of hope that he learns from it.
- 1:06:38Speaker 4: They didn't really add in twenty two, Like they they
- 1:06:42Speaker 4: took this troup the big free agency hall in twenty
- 1:06:44Speaker 4: one DeVante Parker, and then they went into twenty two
- 1:06:47Speaker 4: with all this momentum coming off a ten win season,
- 1:06:50Speaker 4: and they kind of stayed pat and then plateaued as
- 1:06:54Speaker 4: a team in twenty one. So like next offseason, I'm
- 1:06:57Speaker 4: not saying that they have to go out and spend
- 1:06:59Speaker 4: three hundred million dollars again, but you have to go
- 1:07:02Speaker 4: out and get a piece for.
- 1:07:04Speaker 3: Drake May to take this to keep adding to this offense, Like.
- 1:07:09Speaker 4: You can't just be complacent, and I think Bill was complacent,
- 1:07:13Speaker 4: And I think a lot of it, you know, I
- 1:07:14Speaker 4: know Paul's been big on this is that he.
- 1:07:16Speaker 3: Just didn't believe in it.
- 1:07:17Speaker 4: Like I genuinely don't think that he believed that receivers
- 1:07:20Speaker 4: and the shiny toys and all that stuff was really
- 1:07:23Speaker 4: that valuable in the grand scheme of it all. But
- 1:07:27Speaker 4: that was kind of their undoing, was how they handled
- 1:07:30Speaker 4: that position and how they handled that room.
- 1:07:32Speaker 9: I was just say, Jacobe Meers leaves him leaving twenty two,
- 1:07:35Speaker 9: you bring into Vante Parker, that was kind of it, right.
- 1:07:37Speaker 6: So I would even you know, everything I was saying
- 1:07:40Speaker 6: about the roster is I would absolutely agree.
- 1:07:43Speaker 2: With comestad a specialty.
- 1:07:44Speaker 6: But yeah, but I would even just take it a
- 1:07:47Speaker 6: step further. I think Evan's right. I think that it
- 1:07:50Speaker 6: probably would have unfolded in a similar fashion. I think
- 1:07:54Speaker 6: we would have come to the conclusion that make mac
- 1:07:56Speaker 6: Jones wasn't talented enough to lift others around him, and
- 1:08:01Speaker 6: they weren't as good. It's the Andy thing. They were
- 1:08:05Speaker 6: a ten win team. They won ten games, but they
- 1:08:07Speaker 6: weren't a ten win team in twenty one. That in
- 1:08:10Speaker 6: my view, was proven over the last six games when
- 1:08:13Speaker 6: they played some good teams and lost them all and
- 1:08:16Speaker 6: got boat raced in the playoffs. I don't think that
- 1:08:20Speaker 6: they were good enough to have Bill overcome his personal mistakes.
- 1:08:27Speaker 2: All right, we're gonna take a break on the phones.

- 1:10:39Speaker 4: Eight weeks and Mike has anything about this team or
- 1:10:47Speaker 4: where you're at exceeded your expectations.
- 1:10:51Speaker 20: I don't think that that's fair, and essers necessarily say
- 1:10:54Speaker 20: exceeded any expectations.
- 1:10:59Speaker 1: Try not to.
- 1:11:00Speaker 20: Don't have expectations, right, We just have things that we
- 1:11:05Speaker 20: want to try to focus on and improve on. You know,
- 1:11:11Speaker 20: I don't think that they I think that they are
- 1:11:14Speaker 20: believe in themselves and that they believe that they're going
- 1:11:16Speaker 20: to make some plays, and that they're you know, not really.
- 1:11:19Speaker 1: Panicking, and.
- 1:11:22Speaker 20: Signs of complimentary football and signs of preparation, and then
- 1:11:27Speaker 20: some things that we have to continue to correct. And
- 1:11:29Speaker 20: I think that that's that's really good. When you can
- 1:11:33Speaker 20: find ways to win and end the game with the
- 1:11:38Speaker 20: football in your hand and kneeling on it. Those are
- 1:11:41Speaker 20: things that I think good teams find a way to do.
- 1:11:46Speaker 20: We just have to, you know, play a little better
- 1:11:48Speaker 20: and keep improving. And you know, through this stretch here
- 1:11:52Speaker 20: in the middle middle of the season where guys are
- 1:11:55Speaker 20: banged up and there's you know, weeks kind of start
- 1:11:59Speaker 20: to you know, the days they kind of really just
- 1:12:02Speaker 20: start to be similar, and I like the consistency of it.
- 1:12:05Speaker 20: I just don't want guys to to get you know, flat,
- 1:12:09Speaker 20: or you know, some of these veteran guys that we
- 1:12:11Speaker 20: got to be conscious of getting their.
- 1:12:14Speaker 1: Bodies back in this time of year.
- 1:12:18Speaker 7: I felt like you guys were.
- 1:12:19Speaker 12: Able to get treveon going a little bit yesterday.
- 1:12:21Speaker 1: I just wanted to ask you on some of those pitch.
- 1:12:24Speaker 7: Plays, like those misdirection pitch plays.
- 1:12:27Speaker 1: What makes those hard to defend? You think?
- 1:12:29Speaker 4: And does it put doubt in the minds of defensive.
- 1:12:32Speaker 14: Players if you're able to.
- 1:12:33Speaker 1: Hit on one of those early in the game.
- 1:12:35Speaker 20: Well, a lot of that is predicated on the defense
- 1:12:38Speaker 20: that they're playing, and you know sometimes zone or corners
- 1:12:43Speaker 20: that may roll up, or you know, pressure to a
- 1:12:47Speaker 20: certain side, or you know, whatever it may be. So
- 1:12:51Speaker 20: I felt like that was something that we could do
- 1:12:53Speaker 20: this week, and it was good to hit a couple
- 1:12:56Speaker 20: of those guys, did a nice job of getting out
- 1:12:58Speaker 20: in front of them, and.
- 1:13:01Speaker 1: You know we're able to hit some explosive gains that way.
- 1:13:04Speaker 20: So it'll it'll be all kind of all separate, you know,
- 1:13:07Speaker 20: each and every week based on what we need or
- 1:13:09Speaker 20: what we feel like we can do.
- 1:13:12Speaker 9: Well.
- 1:13:12Speaker 20: Yesterday, I thought he you know, ran well out in space.
- 1:13:16Speaker 20: I thought he made a good cut on one of
- 1:13:18Speaker 20: those perimeter plays and continue to work and you know,
- 1:13:24Speaker 20: got a couple of returns and I feel like we
- 1:13:27Speaker 20: could be better there, but you know, being able to
- 1:13:30Speaker 20: have his speed on the edge. And again we're going
- 1:13:33Speaker 20: to try to use all the all the skilled players
- 1:13:36Speaker 20: that we have. Just like yesterday, Max the leading receiver
- 1:13:42Speaker 20: by by the numbers, so kind of each week, I
- 1:13:46Speaker 20: think everybody's ready to go and try to take advantage
- 1:13:49Speaker 20: of their opportunity and no different than the running backs like.
- 1:13:53Speaker 21: Cample played yesterday and had three bottles with the future
- 1:13:55Speaker 21: Hall of Fame or with your message.
- 1:13:59Speaker 1: I mean I think it.
- 1:14:00Speaker 20: You know, again, it's always a challenge when you play
- 1:14:03Speaker 20: Miles Garrett and you know, it's hard to recreate that
- 1:14:06Speaker 20: speed and that type of you know, what are we
- 1:14:08Speaker 20: going to do on the show team?
- 1:14:09Speaker 1: Like who do we have? Like if we did, they
- 1:14:13Speaker 1: wouldn't be on a show team.
- 1:14:14Speaker 20: So there were some you know, good plays, good blocks patients,
- 1:14:20Speaker 20: closing a space and did a good job in a
- 1:14:23Speaker 20: run game. And then you know some plays that again
- 1:14:26Speaker 20: he would like to have back, and yeah, I think
- 1:14:29Speaker 20: that's what happens. But I think Will is going to
- 1:14:32Speaker 20: keep practicing and improving and continuing to help us.
- 1:14:41Speaker 2: Garrett came.
- 1:14:43Speaker 1: For a lineup.
- 1:14:44Speaker 2: Is there more too much of a runway?
- 1:14:46Speaker 1: Yeah, that need to close the space a little bit,
- 1:14:49Speaker 1: close the space and know that, hey, everybody else is
- 1:14:55Speaker 1: on their own.
- 1:14:55Speaker 20: We we have to commit to two players, uh to
- 1:15:00Speaker 20: Ales as opposed to maybe hanging in there a little bit.
- 1:15:05Speaker 20: So I think we will all learn from that and
- 1:15:08Speaker 20: be able to uh to improve and understand. You know,
- 1:15:12Speaker 20: he's seen those all the time, so he knows, you know,
- 1:15:16Speaker 20: when he's coming off that that chip that we have
- 1:15:20Speaker 20: to probably close the distance and know that he's ready
- 1:15:22Speaker 20: to make another move or another couple moves were.
- 1:15:25Speaker 7: Some things that said Josh McDaniels.
- 1:15:26Speaker 1: A part is a play designer and a play caller.
- 1:15:28Speaker 20: It seems like Drake has some really wide open targets
- 1:15:30Speaker 20: and times and obviously Traygion getting going outside. Well, I
- 1:15:34Speaker 20: think as a as a play designer, I'm I'm excited
- 1:15:37Speaker 20: where everybody is offensively and kind of you know, being
- 1:15:43Speaker 20: able to collaborate and come together, provide ideas, allow Josh
- 1:15:49Speaker 20: and you know, to to kind of figure out what
- 1:15:52Speaker 20: he wants to do each and every week, whether that's
- 1:15:54Speaker 20: the run game or play pass, movement series, screens, drop
- 1:15:59Speaker 20: back passes.
- 1:16:00Speaker 1: So I like where that's at. And then I think
- 1:16:04Speaker 1: as far as you know the play calling.
- 1:16:06Speaker 20: That that's you know, that's just a feel, that's an
- 1:16:10Speaker 20: understanding of, you know, what we need, where they're at,
- 1:16:14Speaker 20: what they're trying to do, trying to marry some concepts
- 1:16:18Speaker 20: together with some of their run actions. And I think
- 1:16:23Speaker 20: he's done done a great job, not only this year,
- 1:16:25Speaker 20: but you know, being able to see what he's done
- 1:16:29Speaker 20: in the past. That's always just a feel of, you know,
- 1:16:32Speaker 20: we showed this, let's come back and you know, let's
- 1:16:35Speaker 20: try to show them the same presentation but run a
- 1:16:38Speaker 20: different play and then.
- 1:16:41Speaker 1: You know, some of the you know, guys free. I
- 1:16:44Speaker 1: think just I don't know if that's the case.
- 1:16:46Speaker 20: You know, I mean Pop was free because the quarterback
- 1:16:48Speaker 20: extended and they.
- 1:16:50Speaker 1: Didn't cover them.
- 1:16:51Speaker 20: So we need to continue to do that and find
- 1:16:54Speaker 20: ways to get the ball out on time, but then
- 1:16:57Speaker 20: also a lot of quarterback to to extend. So to
- 1:17:00Speaker 20: answer your question, I like where we are offensively, the collaboration,
- 1:17:04Speaker 20: the communication, the efficiency to put the game plan together,
- 1:17:09Speaker 20: and then Josh's ability to marry off different concepts that.
- 1:17:13Speaker 3: We have wait and now great moments in.
- 1:17:20Speaker 7: History.
- 1:17:21Speaker 19: I did think it was funny when Bill's like, is
- 1:17:23Speaker 19: that another one of your made up reports? Like, no, actually,
- 1:17:25Speaker 19: that's from Adam Schefter, Like, oh, actually actually.
- 1:17:31Speaker 6: Actually said that's not what he said. I ridge the
- 1:17:35Speaker 6: tweet because that's not what I told him to say.
- 1:17:38Speaker 6: Oh wait, I'm sorry.
- 1:17:39Speaker 7: What what do the gap girls become?
- 1:17:42Speaker 3: What if Bill talked like that?
- 1:17:45Speaker 6: Can you imagine if you count and he just started
- 1:17:47Speaker 6: talking with a whole different like syntax and are.
- 1:17:51Speaker 5: The best team we faced all year.
- 1:17:53Speaker 19: I just spent the season on Nantucket and I was
- 1:17:58Speaker 19: preparing for the draft.
- 1:18:00Speaker 6: Or he just like wolfed into like lack this big
- 1:18:03Speaker 6: lax guy Laxboro. Yeah yeah, bro, Bro, we could get
- 1:18:06Speaker 6: to Sean Watson. Bro, we could get to Sean Watson.
- 1:18:09Speaker 6: He's got the hair in the back a different, different
- 1:18:12Speaker 6: accident for a different day of the week, because he
- 1:18:13Speaker 6: has all these different you know, regular Bill on Monday,
- 1:18:16Speaker 6: from get Laxborough on Wednesday, you get Valley Girl on.
- 1:18:19Speaker 19: Friday, and people are so intimidated by him that no
- 1:18:22Speaker 19: one would question it.
- 1:18:22Speaker 4: They would all just be like, oh what, Bill Wonder,
- 1:18:26Speaker 4: why are you.
- 1:18:27Speaker 2: Talking like a valley girl right now? It would be celebrated.
- 1:18:30Speaker 2: Oh and then everybody would start telling he adapts, how
- 1:18:34Speaker 2: he adapts. That's another great moment from all right back here.
- 1:18:40Speaker 2: Patriots on Filterday, five to five past five hundred is
- 1:18:43Speaker 2: the hot line. It's Evan, It's Paul me, Deuce, Matt
- 1:18:46Speaker 2: and the booth tucking Patriots talking like everybody else. Talk
- 1:18:51Speaker 2: of the town.
- 1:18:52Speaker 3: I don't like it, talk of the town. Stay on
- 1:18:54Speaker 3: that side, dan Orlovsky.
- 1:18:56Speaker 4: Wow, you know, I'm not afraid you don't like the
- 1:19:01Speaker 4: attention now, No, I just don't like that all these
- 1:19:04Speaker 4: people are telling me that Drake may needed to sit
- 1:19:06Speaker 4: for three years and now he's the MVP of the league.
- 1:19:07Speaker 6: And.
- 1:19:10Speaker 4: So yeah, no, I knew all along he was gonna
- 1:19:14Speaker 4: be great like and we're back. If I remember correctly,
- 1:19:19Speaker 4: he was supposed to be the next to Jordan Love.
- 1:19:22Speaker 3: Was that correct? And he needed to sit and you
- 1:19:24Speaker 3: had to be careful with him and his footwork just
- 1:19:27Speaker 3: wasn't good.
- 1:19:28Speaker 4: Bill, Well we're now, Oh yeah, where where's that one?
- 1:19:32Speaker 2: Coach killer?
- 1:19:33Speaker 4: Yeah, coach killer, m VP of the league. Yeah, we
- 1:19:36Speaker 4: can kill.
- 1:19:40Speaker 6: This is the stuff I did not miss.
- 1:19:42Speaker 3: I remember.
- 1:19:43Speaker 2: But you don't like, you know, revisiting takes, Paul, No,
- 1:19:47Speaker 2: why not.
- 1:19:48Speaker 6: I don't mind revisiting takes. But I've told you a
- 1:19:51Speaker 6: million times the best thing you do, like your Danie Olowski.
- 1:19:54Speaker 6: I can sit here and tell you he shouldn't be
- 1:19:56Speaker 6: playing right now, he should have sat two years, or
- 1:19:58Speaker 6: I could tell you what is actually happening is that
- 1:20:00Speaker 6: he's an MVP candidate. I would prefer that he does
- 1:20:03Speaker 6: the latter, because that's what everybody sees. But we just
- 1:20:06Speaker 6: want to kill the guy.
- 1:20:08Speaker 7: Yeah, this is this is.
- 1:20:13Speaker 2: I'm just teasing because he's an all twenty two competitors.
- 1:20:18Speaker 2: I like Dan a lot.
- 1:20:19Speaker 4: I'm just I'm just teasing Dan. I'm not ice breakdown
- 1:20:24Speaker 4: of Drake May on draft night telling us how bad
- 1:20:26Speaker 4: his footwork was.
- 1:20:28Speaker 2: Yeah, this is his lowest ranked quarterback.
- 1:20:31Speaker 3: In the game in the a SEC. Thank you.
- 1:20:35Speaker 7: That's close last week.
- 1:20:36Speaker 18: What this is?
- 1:20:37Speaker 6: This is what I'm saying. I don't have any problem
- 1:20:42Speaker 6: keeping receipts that you guys know that. I have arguments
- 1:20:44Speaker 6: going like seven at a time. Yeah, I keep receipts.
- 1:20:47Speaker 7: I've said my piece, all right, listen.
- 1:20:50Speaker 2: I thought Matt Patricia was going to be a fine
- 1:20:53Speaker 2: offensive coordinator.
- 1:20:54Speaker 5: And really we just thank him.
- 1:20:56Speaker 2: We should thank him, we should thank him. We've all
- 1:20:59Speaker 2: been wrong.
- 1:20:59Speaker 4: But the I just the ones about Drake May annoying
- 1:21:02Speaker 4: me more than anything else because I just never understood
- 1:21:06Speaker 4: what the hysteria was with him coming out.
- 1:21:08Speaker 2: Now.
- 1:21:08Speaker 4: I didn't see him playing like an MVP in year two.
- 1:21:10Speaker 4: We were just talking about this during the break. Nobody
- 1:21:13Speaker 4: could have seen this coming. But the hysteria that was
- 1:21:16Speaker 4: made when he was coming out about his footwork, like
- 1:21:19Speaker 4: he wasn't going to work on that for three hundred
- 1:21:22Speaker 4: and sixty five days out of the year with NFL
- 1:21:24Speaker 4: coaches and quarterback gurus and all these guys that get
- 1:21:28Speaker 4: these quarterbacks ready to play now, and he wasn't going
- 1:21:31Speaker 4: to be able to fix his footwork like an athletic,
- 1:21:35Speaker 4: big athletic kid like that like that, it was just
- 1:21:39Speaker 4: all of it was just draft fatigue.
- 1:21:41Speaker 3: The same thing with Will Campbell in his arms, like
- 1:21:43Speaker 3: it's every year.
- 1:21:44Speaker 9: Can we do a real talk though, Like honestly, like
- 1:21:46Speaker 9: after that Raiders game, I was a little shook.
- 1:21:48Speaker 7: I'm not gonna lie. Week one, I was a little
- 1:21:50Speaker 7: bit shook, and I know that's a touchdown.
- 1:21:52Speaker 6: His footwork was a mess, a complete and utter mess,
- 1:21:55Speaker 6: a ton of touchdown pats. So to see where he
- 1:21:59Speaker 6: is now compared to then, it's.
- 1:22:01Speaker 9: Like they reset the they reset things, and it was
- 1:22:03Speaker 9: like you weren't even thinking about last year. You're just
- 1:22:05Speaker 9: thinking like, oh my god, like is this not going
- 1:22:07Speaker 9: to work?
- 1:22:07Speaker 6: And then I had a little talk with Freddy, you know,
- 1:22:10Speaker 6: in the the week after the Raiders game, and I
- 1:22:12Speaker 6: was like, you know, like if we have a whole
- 1:22:15Speaker 6: season of this. Now, this is one game, so we
- 1:22:18Speaker 6: were doing the reaction everything, but one game. You have
- 1:22:20Speaker 6: a whole season of this. Is it off the table
- 1:22:23Speaker 6: that you're at the end of the year, you're thinking
- 1:22:25Speaker 6: do we have the right guy? Now you're like, is
- 1:22:28Speaker 6: he going to win the MVP? Is he going to
- 1:22:29Speaker 6: do what Mahomes did year two? First year is a
- 1:22:32Speaker 6: starter and win the.
- 1:22:33Speaker 2: M v P.
- 1:22:34Speaker 6: That's on the table right.
- 1:22:36Speaker 9: It's such a perfect example of like, we have a
- 1:22:38Speaker 9: show to do this week, and that week we talked
- 1:22:40Speaker 9: about it that we we talked about.
- 1:22:42Speaker 5: Is he going to get some of these things fixed?
- 1:22:44Speaker 2: Right?
- 1:22:46Speaker 7: Like motioning like it's like, what was that first game?
- 1:22:48Speaker 5: Like, I don't even know is he going to win
- 1:22:50Speaker 5: the MVP?
- 1:22:51Speaker 4: I won't go down Josh thinking that that first game
- 1:22:54Speaker 4: was something weird was going on where they said let's
- 1:22:58Speaker 4: hold back and let's just kind of run our base
- 1:23:00Speaker 4: training camp offense, and like there was none none of
- 1:23:03Speaker 4: the bells and whistles, none of the moving pockets, none
- 1:23:06Speaker 4: of the motions, none of the split back gun like
- 1:23:08Speaker 4: none of it.
- 1:23:09Speaker 3: It was just like traditional, like it was.
- 1:23:12Speaker 6: They already ran the same offense today that Drake May
- 1:23:14Speaker 6: would look the same running it as he did that day.
- 1:23:17Speaker 2: I don't.
- 1:23:17Speaker 3: So that's the question is like was the did they
- 1:23:21Speaker 3: need the reps? Like did they need the time?
- 1:23:23Speaker 4: I think so to develop the offense and that and
- 1:23:26Speaker 4: that would be a feather in their cap, like they
- 1:23:28Speaker 4: had showed some more patience. Then That's why I'm sitting
- 1:23:30Speaker 4: here and there down the hall. But like that, that
- 1:23:34Speaker 4: whole game like was just like bizarro land compared to
- 1:23:37Speaker 4: what the offense we're seeing.
- 1:23:38Speaker 2: Right, no offense and defense, you know, with all the
- 1:23:41Speaker 2: plitz you know, Uh Sam in North Carolina? What's up? Sam?
- 1:23:50Speaker 1: Hey?
- 1:23:52Speaker 15: I told everybody last year I've seen Drake was going
- 1:23:55Speaker 15: to be a store like you would do things he
- 1:23:57Speaker 15: made you do, like you could actually score again and
- 1:24:00Speaker 15: stuff like that. So long like this year he's showing
- 1:24:03Speaker 15: everybody will work Like nah, he turnover machine this net.
- 1:24:08Speaker 14: I mean, the guy was pressed, you know.
- 1:24:09Speaker 9: What I mean.
- 1:24:10Speaker 14: But I feel like that Steelers game was the perfect
- 1:24:13Speaker 14: teach tape. It's like you could be this if you
- 1:24:16Speaker 14: don't beat yourself and turn the bowl of it. Yeah,
- 1:24:19Speaker 14: and it's just it's worked out perfect. I mean that
- 1:24:22Speaker 14: little where we're at, what if what if the Stealers
- 1:24:24Speaker 14: game was the Rams game back in the day, and
- 1:24:27Speaker 14: they never lose again.
- 1:24:30Speaker 2: Let its yeah, okay, what if the Steelers game was
- 1:24:33Speaker 2: like that Rams game in oh one, That Rams game
- 1:24:36Speaker 2: was later in the season, it was the Rams are.
- 1:24:39Speaker 6: The best team in football.
- 1:24:40Speaker 2: The Steelers, yeah, fading mediocre at best, but in terms
- 1:24:44Speaker 2: of a turning point, well.
- 1:24:45Speaker 6: In terms of them never losing again, I think it's
- 1:24:48Speaker 6: in comparison it could be a turning point.
- 1:24:51Speaker 5: Could they never lose again?
- 1:24:53Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 1:24:53Speaker 5: I mean, and they never Fred likes to say fifteen
- 1:24:56Speaker 5: and two is on the table.
- 1:24:57Speaker 9: That's true, that's true. Give me the Tampa give me
- 1:25:00Speaker 9: that Tampa game. Let's see what that looks like.
- 1:25:02Speaker 2: What's the Falcons? First?
- 1:25:05Speaker 6: All things about Tampa that I do you think? Do
- 1:25:08Speaker 6: you think I think Tampa is in trouble right now?
- 1:25:10Speaker 6: I think they're going the wrong way.
- 1:25:11Speaker 4: The Baker Mayfield weirdly horrible against man coverage, like one
- 1:25:17Speaker 4: of the worst quarterbacks in the league against man coverage.
- 1:25:20Speaker 5: Black horrible the last two weeks period.
- 1:25:22Speaker 4: And I know a couple of corners in New England
- 1:25:24Speaker 4: that play pretty good man coverage.
- 1:25:26Speaker 2: I think reportedly, Well, let's let's hope he stays in
- 1:25:28Speaker 2: the league. Raheem's in Georgia. What's up, Raheem?
- 1:25:33Speaker 11: What's up?
- 1:25:34Speaker 15: Fellows?
- 1:25:35Speaker 1: Hey? Mark? What about that?
- 1:25:37Speaker 11: Marches Jovistinton?
- 1:25:39Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 1:25:41Speaker 2: Good, love it.
- 1:25:43Speaker 10: But in a way, why do the world in the.
- 1:25:46Speaker 11: Media and everybody keep putting the Bills in the Super Bowl?
- 1:25:49Speaker 14: Already?
- 1:25:50Speaker 2: The Bills.
- 1:25:52Speaker 6: Most in the media have the Bill's window closing. Led
- 1:25:54Speaker 6: by Fred Kirsh, I've.
- 1:25:56Speaker 11: Watched the show. They still got the Bill to win it. Chiefs,
- 1:26:00Speaker 11: Lions and Eagles, and I don't know why they we
- 1:26:03Speaker 11: don't beat them, and they keep acting like they sent
- 1:26:05Speaker 11: them do some miracle and in of winning it.
- 1:26:08Speaker 2: Well, let's face it. I mean, you know, right now,
- 1:26:10Speaker 2: you'd still have to say the Bills and the Chiefs
- 1:26:14Speaker 2: have to be favored in the AFC, right because they've
- 1:26:18Speaker 2: got Josh Allen in Mahomes and the two degree and pedigree. Well,
- 1:26:25Speaker 2: it's gonna take a little bit of time, but it's growing, Rahiem.
- 1:26:29Speaker 2: A lot of people are now talking about Drake may
- 1:26:32Speaker 2: as the MVP, and they're penciling in the Patriots for
- 1:26:35Speaker 2: the playoffs. So it's building. It's building. But I think
- 1:26:38Speaker 2: that you have to admit the Bills and the Chiefs
- 1:26:40Speaker 2: have earned the confidence. We're gaining confidence.
- 1:26:46Speaker 11: Oh no, I guess so.
- 1:26:48Speaker 2: All right, No, it's all right, you stick with it.
- 1:26:51Speaker 2: Let's go Patriots and thanks him.
- 1:26:53Speaker 6: I think it's wide open too, and not just because
- 1:26:57Speaker 6: of the injuries, although that's a big, big part of it,
- 1:27:01Speaker 6: but there's there's some struggles that are still going on,
- 1:27:04Speaker 6: like they're just no one looks to me when I
- 1:27:08Speaker 6: watch them play, like wow, that is an impressive Like,
- 1:27:12Speaker 6: I don't know how we're gonna be able to deal
- 1:27:13Speaker 6: with that. Like we're talking about Tampa in two weeks.
- 1:27:16Speaker 6: Fred gets mad at us because we're dismissing the Jecko
- 1:27:19Speaker 6: and Hyde Falcons. But the Tampa game, like I watched them,
- 1:27:24Speaker 6: they just don't look that good to me. They've lost
- 1:27:26Speaker 6: a million players. You know, Abuca is an excellent young receiver,
- 1:27:33Speaker 6: but he clearly playing hurt. And you got no Evans,
- 1:27:38Speaker 6: no Godwin, no Irving. You know, I don't know this
- 1:27:41Speaker 6: by came in a good time for them. Maybe they
- 1:27:43Speaker 6: get some of these guys back. You know, I don't
- 1:27:46Speaker 6: think Jalen mcmillens played all year. Has he yeut with
- 1:27:49Speaker 6: that neck in joy? He still at the neck.
- 1:27:51Speaker 5: So I just Tampa's good.
- 1:27:56Speaker 6: I'm not saying that they're not a good team, but
- 1:27:59Speaker 6: do you look at them like you looked at Philadelphia
- 1:28:01Speaker 6: last year, or Kansas City last year, or Buffalo last year.
- 1:28:05Speaker 2: Troit?
- 1:28:05Speaker 5: Yeah, and this Detroit, thank you. You know, we're maybe
- 1:28:08Speaker 5: the best at all.
- 1:28:09Speaker 9: Kind of crossing the halfway point of the season now,
- 1:28:11Speaker 9: right like week nine, like it's it feels like first
- 1:28:14Speaker 9: half some teams were good, some teams are bad.
- 1:28:15Speaker 7: Now it's the time to really prove who you really are.
- 1:28:17Speaker 5: I think it could change.
- 1:28:18Speaker 4: That's a good pine like the Chiefs.
- 1:28:22Speaker 6: Everybody's already doing it with the Chiefs, and I'm not
- 1:28:25Speaker 6: telling you they're wrong. Yeah, but ever since Worthy came back,
- 1:28:30Speaker 6: they've been I believe twenty eight is the fewest amount
- 1:28:33Speaker 6: of points they've scored in the four weeks that they
- 1:28:35Speaker 6: they've had their compliment of players back, so the days
- 1:28:39Speaker 6: of them not being able to move the ball seem
- 1:28:41Speaker 6: like a distant memory. And last night was another night.
- 1:28:45Speaker 6: If Kelsey could catch the ball, they you know, they
- 1:28:47Speaker 6: might have put up forty. Yeah, like they you know,
- 1:28:50Speaker 6: they get these interceptions off of passes that go right
- 1:28:52Speaker 6: to guys hands yeah.
- 1:28:54Speaker 4: I think you know, the Patriots, the Colts and the
- 1:28:57Speaker 4: Seahawks are three the better teams in the league on paper,
- 1:29:01Speaker 4: but they don't have any resume, Like there's no they
- 1:29:05Speaker 4: haven't proved themselves fully yet. And I don't think anybody
- 1:29:07Speaker 4: but truly can believe in Daniel Jones. I don't think
- 1:29:10Speaker 4: anybody is truly ready to believe in Seattle or New England,
- 1:29:14Speaker 4: you know, just because of the youth.
- 1:29:15Speaker 6: And she just saw it with Donald to last year
- 1:29:19Speaker 6: where he put together a tremendous season and then when
- 1:29:22Speaker 6: it mattered most, he felt like he lost the last
- 1:29:25Speaker 6: game against Detroit, played awful, and then played even worse
- 1:29:29Speaker 6: against the ROMs in the playoffs.
- 1:29:31Speaker 7: But City Buffalo this weekend too.
- 1:29:33Speaker 3: Yeah, like that Colts team is the best team in
- 1:29:36Speaker 3: the league.
- 1:29:37Speaker 4: Like they're they're number one in DVA, they're number one
- 1:29:40Speaker 4: in e PA, They're number one and everything.
- 1:29:42Speaker 3: But it's Daniel Jones.
- 1:29:44Speaker 4: It's a roster that doesn't really feel like it's fully
- 1:29:48Speaker 4: like it's playing over it's it's a huge at one,
- 1:29:50Speaker 4: you know, if.
- 1:29:51Speaker 9: They can stay at one and get the bye and
- 1:29:52Speaker 9: have home field and not have to go outside and stuff,
- 1:29:54Speaker 9: Like I'm.
- 1:29:55Speaker 6: Trying to figure out what like their whole defense, Like, yeah,
- 1:29:58Speaker 6: because they look active on defense, and I know the
- 1:30:01Speaker 6: guys front. I love the guys up front, you know,
- 1:30:04Speaker 6: like Buck Bunder and Stewart and those guys. My my
- 1:30:09Speaker 6: edge rusher that I just discovered in the draft and
- 1:30:11Speaker 6: then realized he was like the top half of the
- 1:30:13Speaker 6: first round picked a lot two kid. He looks like
- 1:30:15Speaker 6: he's pretty active. But I don't know how their secondary is.
- 1:30:18Speaker 6: I don't know what anymore. Still they're playing, they're playing
- 1:30:21Speaker 6: well the defensively, I don't think they're going.
- 1:30:23Speaker 2: To go away.
- 1:30:24Speaker 6: Yeah, well Jonathan Taylor, I mean, and that's that beats
- 1:30:26Speaker 6: why the offense runs through Taylor, And I don't think
- 1:30:29Speaker 6: they were asking Jones to do what May's doing for
- 1:30:31Speaker 6: the Patriots.
- 1:30:32Speaker 1: I mean.
- 1:30:33Speaker 4: One of the weirdest coaching decisions in the NFL was
- 1:30:36Speaker 4: the Bengals firing lou Anarumo and then he's going to
- 1:30:40Speaker 4: Indie gets hired by the Colts as their defensive coordinator.
- 1:30:43Speaker 3: Now they have one of the best.
- 1:30:44Speaker 4: Defenses in football and the Bengals have one of the
- 1:30:47Speaker 4: worst defenses in football. So Big Lou shout out to him.
- 1:30:50Speaker 4: He's got the Colts defense playing really really well. But
- 1:30:53Speaker 4: you know, back to the Patriots, Like another thing I
- 1:30:55Speaker 4: was thinking about, there's a real chance, you know, they
- 1:30:57Speaker 4: have that Assistant Coach of the Year award right now.
- 1:31:00Speaker 3: I didn't has an assistant coach of the year.
- 1:31:02Speaker 2: How do you figure that.
- 1:31:03Speaker 4: Ben Johnson won it last year? And now there's a
- 1:31:07Speaker 4: real chance that if everything keeps going this way, the
- 1:31:10Speaker 4: Patriots are going to have a nominee for Coach of
- 1:31:12Speaker 4: the Year, Assistant Coach of the Year, and m v P,
- 1:31:16Speaker 4: which is just.
- 1:31:17Speaker 2: The coordinators are considered assistant coaches.
- 1:31:19Speaker 4: Yeah, so you'd have Rabel McDaniels may all being nominated
- 1:31:25Speaker 4: and come back Player of the Year anyway, So like
- 1:31:29Speaker 4: that that tells you, you know, just those three guys
- 1:31:32Speaker 4: are really what's driving the bus. And the only other
- 1:31:35Speaker 4: play caller that has it over McDaniels right now is
- 1:31:38Speaker 4: Shane Stikeen. Like, if those two guys are the two
- 1:31:40Speaker 4: best play callers in football, just send the Patriots.
- 1:31:44Speaker 2: Send the team.
- 1:31:46Speaker 7: You know, I'm with you, but not the content team.
- 1:31:50Speaker 2: Who would be right?
- 1:31:51Speaker 6: Go ahead, you want to get to the phones.
- 1:31:52Speaker 2: Yeah, let's get to the I have a p U
- 1:31:55Speaker 2: debate that I'll set up that's time dance in New Jersey.
- 1:31:59Speaker 16: Hey Dan, I'll be there Sunday. Looking forward to it.
- 1:32:04Speaker 16: My first May game. I'm doing a little different. I
- 1:32:09Speaker 16: haven't been there in a couple of years, but I'm
- 1:32:11Speaker 16: going to spend Sunday night up in Foxboro just wondering, like,
- 1:32:14Speaker 16: what's the atmosphere like after the game? Obviously good when
- 1:32:18Speaker 16: you win, but as far as restaurant Patriots Place, what's
- 1:32:22Speaker 16: it like?
- 1:32:23Speaker 4: Oh, yeah, it's happened after the game happen, is it? Yeah?
- 1:32:27Speaker 2: I tell you.
- 1:32:28Speaker 5: That's that's why I'm asking.
- 1:32:29Speaker 4: I mean, if I make reservations for they usually don't
- 1:32:33Speaker 4: let you on game days. Oh really, Yeah, reservations are
- 1:32:35Speaker 4: tough to come by on game day. Okay, well maybe
- 1:32:39Speaker 4: one I think one place, but I don't want to
- 1:32:41Speaker 4: name it because I'm not sure, but one of the
- 1:32:42Speaker 4: restaurants sometimes does on game days.
- 1:32:44Speaker 3: But for the most part, it's.
- 1:32:45Speaker 2: They just opened up a new place, a new restaurant
- 1:32:48Speaker 2: where Skip Jacks used to be. Oh really, it's like
- 1:32:51Speaker 2: ed Edna's or something like that, or Estella's or speakins
- 1:32:55Speaker 2: with an E.
- 1:32:56Speaker 7: Okay, check that out.
- 1:32:57Speaker 3: And I wish I had more information for you. None
- 1:33:00Speaker 3: of us have done that.
- 1:33:02Speaker 2: You get a few pops.
- 1:33:03Speaker 7: There's a bunch of places.
- 1:33:05Speaker 6: There's a lot of restaurants in Patriot Place, and I
- 1:33:07Speaker 6: would imagine you'd be able to get get aboute to
- 1:33:09Speaker 6: eat in one of them after the game. But we're
- 1:33:11Speaker 6: all working.
- 1:33:12Speaker 2: It is a stella stella.
- 1:33:15Speaker 9: Pick up some ammo at bass Pro, you know, make
- 1:33:18Speaker 9: it a day fishing camotick at.
- 1:33:23Speaker 16: Eleven Tommy cutlets hometown. So you'll be in the we'll
- 1:33:27Speaker 16: be in the building, all right. Of course he probably
- 1:33:30Speaker 16: will be uh not playing, but that's fine.
- 1:33:33Speaker 2: Hopefully not sounds good. So are you staying? Are you
- 1:33:37Speaker 2: staying at one of the hotels here at Patriot Place?
- 1:33:40Speaker 2: You stay in somewhere.
- 1:33:41Speaker 16: Else fifteen minutes away?
- 1:33:44Speaker 2: Okay, all right, Yeah, I would hang out, take your time,
- 1:33:49Speaker 2: don't be in a rush to leave, and and have
- 1:33:52Speaker 2: a good time after the game.
- 1:33:54Speaker 3: Yeah, definitely.
- 1:33:54Speaker 4: If you're going to do that and you're going to
- 1:33:56Speaker 4: drive to the game, though, then you gotta go in
- 1:33:57Speaker 4: the delay lot. You're gonna stay anyways, you might as well.
- 1:34:01Speaker 2: They'll pay you. Yeah, Hey, you you guy as.
- 1:34:03Speaker 6: Well go to the Yeah, check out.
- 1:34:05Speaker 2: The delayed lot. Go to j Lettstadium dot com and
- 1:34:07Speaker 2: check out the delayed lot.
- 1:34:09Speaker 5: You can't leave now, you can't leave.
- 1:34:11Speaker 2: You can't leave sooner than ninety minutes after the game.
- 1:34:14Speaker 2: I think. But they'll pay you. I think they pay
- 1:34:16Speaker 2: you like they give you fifty dollars certificate or something
- 1:34:20Speaker 2: like that. I don't know.
- 1:34:21Speaker 5: You won't receive your money.
- 1:34:23Speaker 2: I forget, But okay, Dan, have a good time.
- 1:34:26Speaker 6: But on your deathband you receive.
- 1:34:28Speaker 2: Yes, total conconsciousness. Uh. Cody's in Cincinnati. What's up, Cody?
- 1:34:34Speaker 7: Cody?
- 1:34:35Speaker 2: Hey, guys, I'm going what up?
- 1:34:39Speaker 21: I'm talking in about last week's discussion for the Commanders. Obviously,
- 1:34:44Speaker 21: I'm in Cincinnati. Bangles made the Super Bowl in twenty
- 1:34:48Speaker 21: twenty one. I don't think any of the fans would
- 1:34:50Speaker 21: have traded that for anything. Obviously, it sucks they got
- 1:34:52Speaker 21: a later draft stick, but it did so much for
- 1:34:55Speaker 21: the city and the fans and uh boost and the
- 1:34:58Speaker 21: fan base. I just don't agree with going all the
- 1:35:02Speaker 21: way and not winning for draft picks, that's all.
- 1:35:07Speaker 3: But that's the Bengals, Cody.
- 1:35:10Speaker 2: I'm with you.
- 1:35:11Speaker 3: The Bengals are a much different example than the one.
- 1:35:13Speaker 6: I'm with you, even though he's on my side.
- 1:35:15Speaker 3: I like the Bengals went back to the AFC Championship.
- 1:35:19Speaker 6: Advocates, they bought him out and back to back years.
- 1:35:23Speaker 6: Got ye, that's like they kind of Evan's posted the
- 1:35:29Speaker 6: world like you get like, if we could just get
- 1:35:31Speaker 6: our quarterback out for the season, we might get a.
- 1:35:33Speaker 4: Tough extreme version the Patriots have done. And this is
- 1:35:39Speaker 4: where we jumped the shark with this whole thing, because
- 1:35:42Speaker 4: the Patriots did exactly what I would wanted them to do,
- 1:35:45Speaker 4: because they played Drake May his rookie season. He got
- 1:35:48Speaker 4: his feet in the NFL. He showed flashes of promise,
- 1:35:52Speaker 4: but they.
- 1:35:52Speaker 6: Still stunk, and so they did exactly what the Bengals did, right.
- 1:35:55Speaker 6: They got Borrowed at one and then Chase at five.
- 1:35:57Speaker 6: The Patriots got May at three, and you're at the
- 1:36:00Speaker 6: fourth pick the next year, right, Yeah. And it took
- 1:36:03Speaker 6: a tackle because they had to, But yeah, I mean,
- 1:36:06Speaker 6: it would have been great if Jamar Chase was there again,
- 1:36:09Speaker 6: if they had one of the receivers from the year before,
- 1:36:11Speaker 6: maybe maybe the conversation would have been a little different.
- 1:36:14Speaker 4: But now they have May, they have Campbell, they have
- 1:36:17Speaker 4: building blocks that they have moving forward, just like the
- 1:36:20Speaker 4: Bengals have burrow and chase the emails that.
- 1:36:23Speaker 2: I have a lot of emails, tons of emails. Dan
- 1:36:27Speaker 2: Whittaker has a public service announcement. This is Dan from
- 1:36:32Speaker 2: the Patriots Fan Club of Columbus, Ohio. This team is exciting, winning,
- 1:36:36Speaker 2: his fun, and it's better with other fans. Fans should
- 1:36:38Speaker 2: go to fanclubs dot Patriots dot com and find their
- 1:36:43Speaker 2: local registered fan club. That's a good reminder. Go to
- 1:36:46Speaker 2: fanclubs dot Patriots dot com and look up in your
- 1:36:50Speaker 2: area where there's a Patriots fan club and join it
- 1:36:53Speaker 2: so that you can watch and celebrate the Patriots with
- 1:36:57Speaker 2: other fans in your area. Well, there you go.
- 1:37:01Speaker 7: It's the best. It is the best.
- 1:37:02Speaker 2: Tampa is going to be a big big it is.
- 1:37:05Speaker 6: And I'm told it is by far the most requested
- 1:37:09Speaker 6: a visitor for the Patriots tickets.
- 1:37:12Speaker 4: I thought the stadium was good on Sunday. They thought
- 1:37:15Speaker 4: there was some some good moments. But I think we
- 1:37:17Speaker 4: could do better. I think this team's worth it. It's
- 1:37:20Speaker 4: team's fun to watch. It's not you know, it's not
- 1:37:23Speaker 4: Paul's thing. They don't win rock fights like they're they're
- 1:37:26Speaker 4: explosive offense. They're throwing the ball down the field, MVP quarterback.
- 1:37:30Speaker 6: They play an exciting brand of offense. They do, and
- 1:37:33Speaker 6: they throw it down the field. They let's make this.
- 1:37:36Speaker 5: They get to the edges you know in the running
- 1:37:38Speaker 5: game they'll.
- 1:37:39Speaker 6: Look at to make big plays.
- 1:37:40Speaker 3: They do make big plays, and they do.
- 1:37:45Speaker 2: Longino from New Jersey, He says, you know what grinds
- 1:37:49Speaker 2: my gears. I see people talking online about how bad
- 1:37:53Speaker 2: the defense is and how they make these bad quarterbacks
- 1:37:56Speaker 2: look elite in the beginning of the game, but refuse
- 1:37:58Speaker 2: to talk about how they make it adjustments in the
- 1:38:00Speaker 2: second half. No defense is perfect, especially in this league
- 1:38:04Speaker 2: where it's very offense oriented. Seeing what they did in Buffalo,
- 1:38:08Speaker 2: I'm not expecting them to stop elite quarterbacks, but have
- 1:38:11Speaker 2: enough place to slow them down and give our offense
- 1:38:14Speaker 2: a chance. What are your thoughts about this? Are we
- 1:38:17Speaker 2: making too much about the rough early starts and not
- 1:38:20Speaker 2: enough about how they shut down teams afterwards.
- 1:38:23Speaker 5: I think a lot has been made out of both
- 1:38:25Speaker 5: of those.
- 1:38:25Speaker 3: Yeah, yeah, I think that.
- 1:38:27Speaker 4: You know, we have numbers now like DVOA that adjusts
- 1:38:30Speaker 4: for opponent, and when you look at it, they're twenty
- 1:38:33Speaker 4: eighth in the league right now on defense. In DVA
- 1:38:36Speaker 4: and there's only one other team in the league that's
- 1:38:39Speaker 4: that low that's also top ten in scoring defense, and
- 1:38:41Speaker 4: that's the forty nine ers. So like, it's not typical
- 1:38:45Speaker 4: that you are that low in terms of your defense
- 1:38:48Speaker 4: efficiency but still are a top ten scoring defense and like,
- 1:38:53Speaker 4: by the numbers of it, the damn should break eventually.
- 1:38:58Speaker 4: And I think the difference that people are worried about
- 1:39:01Speaker 4: is when you face the better quarterbacks and the better offenses,
- 1:39:05Speaker 4: like those are the ones that are gonna make the
- 1:39:06Speaker 4: damn break. And I think that that's the concern. I
- 1:39:09Speaker 4: don't think it's about the starts. I think all that
- 1:39:11Speaker 4: is that this is who they are, Like they start slow,
- 1:39:14Speaker 4: and then they make adjustments, and then they play good
- 1:39:17Speaker 4: defense from that point on. But what happens when you
- 1:39:19Speaker 4: face a quarterback that hits the throw to Isaiah Bond
- 1:39:22Speaker 4: and doesn't miss that throw and they make another big play.
- 1:39:26Speaker 4: What happens when you play a quarterback that can go
- 1:39:28Speaker 4: four quarters with Drake May instead of two ish?
- 1:39:32Speaker 9: Yeah, you know, Like I remember having a conversation last year,
- 1:39:34Speaker 9: and I think I posed the question as like, are
- 1:39:37Speaker 9: there really any good defenses anymore? Like there's always a
- 1:39:39Speaker 9: couple and I think we're looking at like this defense
- 1:39:42Speaker 9: and you want to see perfect stats across the board.
- 1:39:45Speaker 9: But the conversation I remember having last year wasn't even
- 1:39:48Speaker 9: about the Patriots, was just, you know, are you looking
- 1:39:50Speaker 9: to make a defense that can just make that one
- 1:39:52Speaker 9: or two key stops. And maybe they're you know, maybe
- 1:39:54Speaker 9: they do have some general statistical flaws going into the
- 1:39:57Speaker 9: game that they're not great stop in the run, or
- 1:39:59Speaker 9: they're not great on down, or they.
- 1:40:00Speaker 2: Don't you know.
- 1:40:01Speaker 9: But like there's part of me that has like a
- 1:40:03Speaker 9: little bit of not confidence, but hope that they have
- 1:40:07Speaker 9: the pieces to kind of go. And yes, they will
- 1:40:09Speaker 9: give up some plays, but I'm have growing confidence that
- 1:40:12Speaker 9: they will make some plays too.
- 1:40:13Speaker 6: See. I would just look at the way they've played
- 1:40:16Speaker 6: so far this year. The offense has been responsible for
- 1:40:21Speaker 6: the defense and stops until Sunday. I thought the defense
- 1:40:25Speaker 6: for the first game that I thought just me anecdotally.
- 1:40:30Speaker 6: Don't have any numbers here, but the defense turned the
- 1:40:33Speaker 6: tide of the game on Sunday. They're the ones that
- 1:40:36Speaker 6: went four straight, five straight possessions. I think they allowed
- 1:40:40Speaker 6: one first down forty five yards, four punts in a
- 1:40:43Speaker 6: missfield goal, and the missfield goal was after a turnover
- 1:40:47Speaker 6: that had him in field.
- 1:40:48Speaker 5: That was a pick three. Yeah, that was a pick three.
- 1:40:50Speaker 6: They had a turnover that put him in field goal
- 1:40:52Speaker 6: range and the Patriots shut it down.
- 1:40:54Speaker 2: There.
- 1:40:55Speaker 6: I thought the defense more than carried its weight and
- 1:41:00Speaker 6: particular game, but the whole Like, yeah, is there anybody
- 1:41:05Speaker 6: that's any good on defense anymore? I would argue and say,
- 1:41:08Speaker 6: not many. I think, you know, I think there are
- 1:41:10Speaker 6: a couple, but not many. But it's all relative. You're
- 1:41:13Speaker 6: twenty eighth. No one else has a good defense either,
- 1:41:16Speaker 6: but you're twenty eighth in this particular metric, you know.
- 1:41:19Speaker 6: So you know, if you go like just strictly points scored,
- 1:41:22Speaker 6: points allowed, your top five, right right?
- 1:41:25Speaker 4: Yeah, well, I think that's the reason why you know,
- 1:41:28Speaker 4: it stands out to me so much with DVA because
- 1:41:31Speaker 4: you know, all the other stats that we have don't
- 1:41:32Speaker 4: adjust for opponent. So like their fourth in scoring defense,
- 1:41:36Speaker 4: there are eleven in EBA, but like all those things
- 1:41:39Speaker 4: are not opponent adjusted, And then when you throw the
- 1:41:42Speaker 4: strength to schedule in there, they go from fourth in
- 1:41:45Speaker 4: scoring defense to twenty eighth in DVOA and like, by
- 1:41:49Speaker 4: the math of it, that shouldn't last like some like that,
- 1:41:53Speaker 4: that shouldn't be sustainable.
- 1:41:55Speaker 2: It's probably going to get a short circuit. If it does,
- 1:41:58Speaker 2: it's probably.
- 1:41:59Speaker 6: Gonna right this regular season because they just don't play
- 1:42:02Speaker 6: enough of those teams. But it will, you know, will
- 1:42:06Speaker 6: it show itself against Buffalo the second right? You know, like,
- 1:42:10Speaker 6: is Buffalo going to turn it over three more times
- 1:42:11Speaker 6: like they did the first time? What they do, You're
- 1:42:13Speaker 6: probably gonna win.
- 1:42:14Speaker 3: Botched handoff or that's what I'm saying.
- 1:42:17Speaker 2: Like, you know, a lot of people were confused on
- 1:42:20Speaker 2: the safety. I got a lot of emails. You know,
- 1:42:23Speaker 2: I thought I thought you had a punt after a
- 1:42:25Speaker 2: safety and not. The rule is you get a free
- 1:42:29Speaker 2: kick freekick, so you can kick it any way you want.
- 1:42:32Speaker 2: Like I think you could even do a place kick
- 1:42:34Speaker 2: if you want it.
- 1:42:34Speaker 4: I don't think you can kick it off the t
- 1:42:37Speaker 4: placekick you where you snap it and the Cleveland did no, Yeah,
- 1:42:41Speaker 4: because they declared an on site kick. But if you
- 1:42:43Speaker 4: just do a straight kickoff, you can kick it off.
- 1:42:45Speaker 4: It's so why did everybody punt it then?
- 1:42:47Speaker 2: Because it's better for hangtime, hangtime and probably accuracy.
- 1:42:51Speaker 6: It's better people punt off a free kick because it's
- 1:42:54Speaker 6: easier to cover a punt than.
- 1:42:55Speaker 2: A kick, right right, I guess about it.
- 1:43:00Speaker 6: I don't know people free kick all something new, but yeah,
- 1:43:03Speaker 6: share a lot, but it's whatever you want.
- 1:43:06Speaker 2: Yeah, it's not a punt, not a place kick, it's
- 1:43:09Speaker 2: a free kick.
- 1:43:09Speaker 7: So this is all new to me. I like, I've
- 1:43:11Speaker 7: never even put that, like, oh, it's a free kick,
- 1:43:13Speaker 7: you can kick.
- 1:43:13Speaker 4: I just hate the whole You got to declare that
- 1:43:15Speaker 4: you're doing an on side kick nonsense.
- 1:43:16Speaker 2: Yeah, I don't like the I don't like the on
- 1:43:19Speaker 2: side kick rule.
- 1:43:20Speaker 4: I don't like Well, the only reason why it's that
- 1:43:22Speaker 4: way is because of the new kickoff rule. Like, I
- 1:43:24Speaker 4: don't think it's about safety. I think it's about the
- 1:43:26Speaker 4: fact that from where they're kicking from now, Yeah.
- 1:43:30Speaker 6: I hate that. I think you should be able to
- 1:43:32Speaker 6: on side kick anytime you want.
- 1:43:34Speaker 3: Would they be able to do it?
- 1:43:35Speaker 6: No?
- 1:43:35Speaker 2: I know the other topic you meet, the kickoff. We
- 1:43:39Speaker 2: talked about it on the post game show, but you
- 1:43:41Speaker 2: know we can bring it up here. First time in
- 1:43:42Speaker 2: twenty four years. The team was announced individually her Riginal Stadium.
- 1:43:48Speaker 2: A lot of people were excited about it. I guess
- 1:43:51Speaker 2: the team wanted to do. It is that right players
- 1:43:53Speaker 2: were about.
- 1:43:54Speaker 7: Give some players some recognition.
- 1:43:56Speaker 2: Maybe, but I don't like it. I disagree with it.
- 1:43:59Speaker 22: I like it.
- 1:44:00Speaker 2: I like the idea of I like, you know, argue.
- 1:44:03Speaker 2: I'm not saying like all traditions have to stay and
- 1:44:06Speaker 2: you can never change anything. But I thought this was
- 1:44:08Speaker 2: one tradition that I liked. I like that being part
- 1:44:12Speaker 2: of the Patriots identity. We come out as a team.
- 1:44:15Speaker 2: And now I guess that's over.
- 1:44:18Speaker 5: I think it's a breath of fresher.
- 1:44:21Speaker 4: I think I think I have argued enough with friend
- 1:44:25Speaker 4: so very much. On the other side of that, we
- 1:44:27Speaker 4: got fifteen minutes. I got Patriots m VP not named
- 1:44:32Speaker 4: Drake may Give me some candidates, fine, Patriots m VP
- 1:44:37Speaker 4: not named Drake may.
- 1:44:39Speaker 7: Well, Campbell, Ballaine, I don't know. I mean, it's nobody.
- 1:44:44Speaker 7: I feel like.
- 1:44:47Speaker 5: I'd say it's Milton Williams.
- 1:44:48Speaker 3: Find Diggs. Milton Williams, Yeah, probably.
- 1:44:53Speaker 6: I like Milton Williams and Marcus Jones.
- 1:44:57Speaker 2: Points matter, scoring touchdowns.
- 1:45:00Speaker 6: The reason why I brought this up is because there
- 1:45:03Speaker 6: was a poll. It does last year, I mean last week.
- 1:45:07Speaker 6: Last night, I saw a poll on Twitter that had
- 1:45:12Speaker 6: three guys and Diggs was one of them, so I
- 1:45:16Speaker 6: guess I'll and I'd relent and I'd say Diggs belongs
- 1:45:19Speaker 6: he was one the other two. I was like, I
- 1:45:20Speaker 6: don't really understand, like how Milton Williams is not on
- 1:45:23Speaker 6: this list and the guys they had were on it.
- 1:45:26Speaker 6: I mean, who were the guys?
- 1:45:29Speaker 5: Let me let me see if I can find it
- 1:45:30Speaker 5: for you, Hope, please.
- 1:45:32Speaker 7: Like ten minutes to tee it up in our.
- 1:45:36Speaker 6: I think so Stefan Diggs, Robert s. Blaine, and Kishan
- 1:45:39Speaker 6: Boody with the three guys on the list. I I
- 1:45:46Speaker 6: just don't know how Milton Williams and Marcus Jones aren't
- 1:45:48Speaker 6: on this list. Robert Splaine had three or four sort
- 1:45:51Speaker 6: of SOSO games. I think he was excellent Sunday, I
- 1:45:55Speaker 6: think one of his better games. I think he's playing
- 1:45:57Speaker 6: better as the weeks go by. But you don't just
- 1:46:00Speaker 6: ignore half of the games, you know, when you know,
- 1:46:03Speaker 6: we were like four games into the season wondering if
- 1:46:05Speaker 6: the linebackers could make any tackles. Now he's making all
- 1:46:09Speaker 6: those tackles. So I'm not saying that that's persistent. He's
- 1:46:11Speaker 6: been good, but I'm talking about the best player on
- 1:46:14Speaker 6: the team not named Drake.
- 1:46:15Speaker 7: I like Marcus Jones one, I like, I didn't.
- 1:46:18Speaker 3: Like really the best player on the team not named
- 1:46:20Speaker 3: Drake may.
- 1:46:21Speaker 2: I mean we thought it was going to be Gonzales,
- 1:46:23Speaker 2: and he might eventually by the end of the year,
- 1:46:25Speaker 2: but not yet.
- 1:46:26Speaker 6: Just to go by you a strict definition thing, Yeah,
- 1:46:29Speaker 6: you can make an argument for Gonzales. He missed three games.
- 1:46:32Speaker 6: How they do in those three games?
- 1:46:34Speaker 23: Yeah, yeah, I want to that's true. I think I
- 1:46:38Speaker 23: think you're right on Marcus Jones. Marcus Johnses has been excellent.
- 1:46:41Speaker 23: I think Barbour and Williams have been excellent. And it's
- 1:46:43Speaker 23: and it's some of the keys consistently good. I would
- 1:46:46Speaker 23: have had Harold Landry in consideration until that. Like I'm
- 1:46:49Speaker 23: talking to off camera, I wonder if whatever happened in
- 1:46:53Speaker 23: New Orleans is lingering because I think he's been less explosive. Yeah,
- 1:46:57Speaker 23: I think I can hear Milton Willia and I would
- 1:47:00Speaker 23: make an argument for Diggs for as much of what
- 1:47:02Speaker 23: he's done off the field, off.
- 1:47:04Speaker 2: The field, but also the cat when he makes his catches.
- 1:47:07Speaker 5: He's been terrific on the field.
- 1:47:08Speaker 6: I'm not saying that, but I think he has been
- 1:47:11Speaker 6: a big part of that maturity of that group.
- 1:47:13Speaker 2: Yep, yeah, I.
- 1:47:14Speaker 3: Give it to Diggs.
- 1:47:15Speaker 4: I think not only off the field, but if you
- 1:47:19Speaker 4: take that jinga piece out of their offense and now
- 1:47:21Speaker 4: there's extra attention on Booty, there's extra attention on the
- 1:47:24Speaker 4: tight ends, there's extra attention on Hollins, like he we
- 1:47:28Speaker 4: talk so much about the domino effect of having that
- 1:47:30Speaker 4: number one receiver and even if he doesn't have the
- 1:47:33Speaker 4: production every single week, like just his presence every single
- 1:47:36Speaker 4: time a team comes in to play the Patriots, the
- 1:47:39Speaker 4: first guy besides Drake May that they talk about is
- 1:47:42Speaker 4: Stefan Diggs.
- 1:47:43Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:47:43Speaker 3: Yeah, they're saying Diggs is the number one. This, you know,
- 1:47:47Speaker 3: Booty is kind.
- 1:47:47Speaker 2: Of the fact that we're having this talk and like
- 1:47:50Speaker 2: we're mentioning all these different names on both sides of
- 1:47:53Speaker 2: the ball. Does that kind of protect us from injury?
- 1:47:57Speaker 9: Oh, that's where you're going. I had the same set up.
- 1:48:00Speaker 9: I only was going to say it just makes me
- 1:48:01Speaker 9: seem it makes Drake look more valuable. That you can
- 1:48:03Speaker 9: have all these different guys that you're kind of lukewarm on.
- 1:48:06Speaker 9: But like my definition of the m VP is the
- 1:48:08Speaker 9: guy who like kind of carries his team, so I
- 1:48:10Speaker 9: was different. You set it up the same way. Sorry
- 1:48:12Speaker 9: for I mean to get there, but but.
- 1:48:14Speaker 2: Your point is it makes look better. Absolutely it does.
- 1:48:17Speaker 2: I think this is you don't have great players.
- 1:48:19Speaker 4: Why Alan won m VP over Lamar last year. This
- 1:48:22Speaker 4: was absolutely this is the argument was that Lamar had
- 1:48:25Speaker 4: a better supporting cast. Yeah, Derrick Henry and you know
- 1:48:28Speaker 4: Josh Allen was making Khalil Shakir and rookie Keon Coleman,
- 1:48:31Speaker 4: and you know Dalton Kincaid look like the Pro Bowlers
- 1:48:35Speaker 4: and and those guys.
- 1:48:36Speaker 3: You know, it's it's a big part of it.
- 1:48:38Speaker 4: I think the injury thing is just you know, that
- 1:48:42Speaker 4: part of it makes me even more excited about the
- 1:48:45Speaker 4: team because, like I think the roster is far from
- 1:48:48Speaker 4: done and they're still six and two. Yeah, so like
- 1:48:51Speaker 4: if you go into this and you know, not to
- 1:48:54Speaker 4: like fast forward, but like if they have one more
- 1:48:57Speaker 4: really good offseason next year and another good draft class,
- 1:49:01Speaker 4: like you're talking about being your like a Detroit Lions
- 1:49:04Speaker 4: type of thing, where like now the team is really
- 1:49:07Speaker 4: really good and sustainably good.
- 1:49:09Speaker 7: Can I ask you guys a question.
- 1:49:10Speaker 9: This is where my brain's starting to go, is you
- 1:49:12Speaker 9: know what is the biggest obstacle for the Patriots getting
- 1:49:15Speaker 9: into in the playoffs, making some noise in the playoffs,
- 1:49:17Speaker 9: and can they make any attempt to pre you know,
- 1:49:20Speaker 9: solve that at the trade deadline, Like what's what's going
- 1:49:27Speaker 9: to prevent that?
- 1:49:27Speaker 6: I don't know if.
- 1:49:29Speaker 7: A couple of playoffs.
- 1:49:30Speaker 6: You know, there's a reason why I think people have
- 1:49:32Speaker 6: been putting out. They're looking to help the defense because
- 1:49:36Speaker 6: I do feel if they played a good offense and
- 1:49:38Speaker 6: now you're in a shootout, because I know how well
- 1:49:41Speaker 6: makes play. Most of these games, they're in the low twenties,
- 1:49:47Speaker 6: and I know they're ending up thirty two, but I'm
- 1:49:49Speaker 6: taking away nine points, like without you know the safety
- 1:49:54Speaker 6: and you know you run an interception back inside the five.
- 1:49:59Speaker 5: Can they in those kinds again?
- 1:50:01Speaker 6: Again, We're looking at this in a whole different thing, right,
- 1:50:04Speaker 6: like this is no longer like, well, geez, what are
- 1:50:06Speaker 6: you nitpicking the wins board. I'm not nitpicking. I'm wondering
- 1:50:10Speaker 6: can they win a shootout? They haven't really had to
- 1:50:12Speaker 6: because the other teams don't have any offense. You played
- 1:50:15Speaker 6: the thirty second and thirty first ranked offense and back
- 1:50:17Speaker 6: to back weeks. Now you played another terrible offense this week,
- 1:50:22Speaker 6: But there's a difference on this one.
- 1:50:24Speaker 4: They shouldn't.
- 1:50:25Speaker 6: They shouldn't have one of the worst offenses in football.
- 1:50:27Speaker 6: They have individual talent that the other teams don't.
- 1:50:30Speaker 2: We talk about the Falcons.
- 1:50:31Speaker 6: Yeah, Jean Robinson's a really, really good running back. Yeah,
- 1:50:35Speaker 6: Drake London is a really good wide receiver. Now they
- 1:50:38Speaker 6: don't have a lot of weapons. Kyle Pitts.
- 1:50:41Speaker 7: That's the three. That's the three.
- 1:50:43Speaker 4: I mean, I think Darnell Mooney Moody as a fourth
- 1:50:47Speaker 4: option in an offense. I think Darnell Mooney is a
- 1:50:50Speaker 4: really good player for whatever reason.
- 1:50:52Speaker 5: I think they're twenty eighth in offense.
- 1:50:55Speaker 4: Yeah, no, their offense is you know, I don't usually
- 1:50:59Speaker 4: like to say this, but like it points to coaching
- 1:51:02Speaker 4: in Atlanta, right, Like their team is way too talented
- 1:51:05Speaker 4: for them to be three and four in this Jacqueline Hyde.
- 1:51:08Speaker 4: Like offensively, they if you gave you know, Josh McDaniels,
- 1:51:12Speaker 4: Bjon Robinson, Drake London, Kyle Pitts, and Darnell Mooney, they'd
- 1:51:15Speaker 4: be a top ten offense in football. Like that's just
- 1:51:18Speaker 4: there's something disconnected there between, Like you can't lose to
- 1:51:22Speaker 4: that Miami team by thirty or Carolina thirty to nothing
- 1:51:26Speaker 4: like And it doesn't matter if it's Pennix or Cousins.
- 1:51:28Speaker 3: It doesn't matter.
- 1:51:29Speaker 6: Like I mean, this is like it. And I know
- 1:51:31Speaker 6: everybody's like, oh, they don't. They don't play any better
- 1:51:33Speaker 6: home than they do on the road. They're just they
- 1:51:35Speaker 6: can play a great game at home against Buffalo, they
- 1:51:37Speaker 6: can play a great game on the road against someone else.
- 1:51:40Speaker 6: They play a terrible game at home against Miami. Like,
- 1:51:43Speaker 6: I don't have good has anything to do with where
- 1:51:46Speaker 6: they play. Their defense is better than you people think too.
- 1:51:48Speaker 2: Chris wants to know what happened on Mapu's only snap?
- 1:51:51Speaker 2: Was it an illegal pick? He didn't play again on defense?
- 1:51:54Speaker 2: What did he do wrong? Was he injured?
- 1:51:56Speaker 6: It was not an illegal pick, but he got caught
- 1:51:57Speaker 6: in the wall?
- 1:51:58Speaker 4: H yeah, it was it just a class to cross
- 1:52:00Speaker 4: or again and ruber out against man coverage. And I
- 1:52:02Speaker 4: think that this is one of the things you know,
- 1:52:05Speaker 4: to douce his question about the trade deadline, that they
- 1:52:07Speaker 4: really don't have anybody to cover the tight end. And
- 1:52:10Speaker 4: that's why this week, as much as I don't think
- 1:52:12Speaker 4: Kyle Pitts has lived up to the pick that he
- 1:52:14Speaker 4: was drafted at. I think he's a talented player that
- 1:52:18Speaker 4: you know, when you're man to man against him, like,
- 1:52:20Speaker 4: he can make you.
- 1:52:21Speaker 3: Pay in a matchup.
- 1:52:22Speaker 4: He's got the talent, And I just I don't know
- 1:52:25Speaker 4: if I was one spot that I would really want
- 1:52:28Speaker 4: them to upgrade on this team. You know, call it
- 1:52:30Speaker 4: a linebacker, call it a safety, call whatever you want,
- 1:52:32Speaker 4: but somebody that allows them to play better man coverage
- 1:52:36Speaker 4: against tight end, so that they can play man to
- 1:52:38Speaker 4: man at more of a higher rate than what they're playing.
- 1:52:42Speaker 4: Because they have three good man coverage players and Davis
- 1:52:45Speaker 4: Gonzo and Marcus Jones, it's the fourth and fifth eligible
- 1:52:48Speaker 4: receiver that's given them problems, which is usually they're running
- 1:52:52Speaker 4: back in the tight end.
- 1:52:53Speaker 3: So how do you fix that?
- 1:52:54Speaker 9: You notice thinking, I don't know if you agree with me,
- 1:52:56Speaker 9: but watching this defensive scheme, I feel like if they
- 1:52:59Speaker 9: found a really special safety, that that guy could absolutely
- 1:53:03Speaker 9: be the centerpiece of defense, you know, Like it just
- 1:53:07Speaker 9: seems this scheme is so set up for a safety
- 1:53:10Speaker 9: who can do it all and rush the quarterback and
- 1:53:13Speaker 9: play the center. Like I mean, I'd read obviously as
- 1:53:15Speaker 9: a unicorn, but I don't know if they'll find that
- 1:53:17Speaker 9: kind of guy. But it just seems like this system
- 1:53:19Speaker 9: would really thrive if you could find one of those
- 1:53:22Speaker 9: really elite safeties that can do it all.
- 1:53:24Speaker 2: Yeah.
- 1:53:24Speaker 4: I mean, well they had buyered in Tennessee and he did,
- 1:53:27Speaker 4: you know, so he had great years with Rabel and Tennessee.
- 1:53:29Speaker 3: But you know, the Titans, I guess are open for business.
- 1:53:33Speaker 4: It sounds like besides cam Ward and Jeffrey Simmons, and
- 1:53:36Speaker 4: I'll keep pounding the table. Get Amani Hooker on the Patriots,
- 1:53:40Speaker 4: like find a you know, a way to get him here.
- 1:53:42Speaker 4: I think that that would be a big help to
- 1:53:44Speaker 4: their safetym It's nothing against Hawkins and Woodson. I thought
- 1:53:47Speaker 4: Hawkins played well in this game, actually, but they need
- 1:53:50Speaker 4: somebody that allows them to play man go a week
- 1:53:52Speaker 4: from today.
- 1:53:53Speaker 3: Yeah, the deadline is the fourth.
- 1:53:55Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 1:53:55Speaker 9: Jalen Phillips, is this like those kind of guys interest
- 1:53:58Speaker 9: edge guys? I mean it makes sense to me.
- 1:53:59Speaker 6: I would take an edge guy, and I know what
- 1:54:01Speaker 6: you guys are saying, just because I think that there's
- 1:54:03Speaker 6: a potential for availability.
- 1:54:05Speaker 2: Yeah Hendrickson, Yeah, yeah, yeah for sure.
- 1:54:08Speaker 6: Yeah. I mean I think if you could, if you
- 1:54:11Speaker 6: could get a hat could just just win. That could
- 1:54:14Speaker 6: just win a one on one and just create pressure
- 1:54:16Speaker 6: on the passive so huge. The whole thing about well,
- 1:54:19Speaker 6: the front four is kind of inconsistent with the pressure.
- 1:54:22Speaker 6: It's so much from the middle with Williams and Barb Wore.
- 1:54:24Speaker 6: They win theirs with the bull rushes and whatnot. But
- 1:54:27Speaker 6: you get an athletic.
- 1:54:28Speaker 2: Because you're real.
- 1:54:30Speaker 7: You need that consistent fresh pass rush rotation going.
- 1:54:33Speaker 4: Oh yeah, they are playing the clean up. They're playing
- 1:54:40Speaker 4: those two guys a lot, Chase On and Landry. So
- 1:54:43Speaker 4: if you could find a third guy that you can
- 1:54:45Speaker 4: rely on, even if it's not Trey Hendrickson, even if
- 1:54:48Speaker 4: it's just someone that is a reliable player kind of
- 1:54:51Speaker 4: in the same ilk as Landry and Chase On, that
- 1:54:53Speaker 4: could just take some of the pressure off. Because they
- 1:54:56Speaker 4: let Anthony Jennings play a little bit in this game
- 1:54:58Speaker 4: and he was okay, And I.
- 1:54:59Speaker 7: Was thinking of about that a little bit.
- 1:55:00Speaker 9: Like to me, I could see Jennings getting traded just
- 1:55:03Speaker 9: because at least he has a thing like with key
- 1:55:05Speaker 9: On White, I don't I don't know what.
- 1:55:06Speaker 7: His thing is.
- 1:55:07Speaker 9: He's not different defenses, but you know, with somebody, are
- 1:55:09Speaker 9: people going to trade for that, Like, is any team
- 1:55:11Speaker 9: going to look at him and be like, oh, he's
- 1:55:13Speaker 9: the perfect fit for a defense.
- 1:55:14Speaker 4: Like if you're a team that has like big run
- 1:55:17Speaker 4: stuffing defensive tackles and you need a third down into
- 1:55:20Speaker 4: your pass rusher where he's only going to play over
- 1:55:23Speaker 4: the guard in passing situations, then I could see Kean
- 1:55:26Speaker 4: White having a role. He just with Williams and Barmore,
- 1:55:29Speaker 4: that role doesn't exist here. So right now he's like
- 1:55:32Speaker 4: a backup to Milton Williams. Is essentially his role on
- 1:55:35Speaker 4: this team. So when Milton Williams is healthy, there's no
- 1:55:38Speaker 4: snaps for him. So that's why he's inactive. But if
- 1:55:41Speaker 4: you're a team like that that has you know, big
- 1:55:44Speaker 4: run stuffers that play first and second.
- 1:55:46Speaker 2: Down, but you need to Yeah, you need to change up,
- 1:55:48Speaker 2: all right, that's gonna be it got things to do.
- 1:55:51Speaker 6: Oh why do you always short change?
- 1:55:53Speaker 2: We have Wednesday and we have Thursday, and we have
- 1:55:56Speaker 2: catch twenty two tomorrow at ten. Correct, i's barth doing.
- 1:56:00Speaker 2: I always like to do a wellness check on him.
- 1:56:02Speaker 4: He's doing good, Yeah, doing great. Changed up his Sunday
- 1:56:05Speaker 4: schedule a little bit, so he was very you know.
- 1:56:10Speaker 2: He's always a take guy. What's his? What's his? This
- 1:56:13Speaker 2: week's take for him?
- 1:56:15Speaker 6: I don't know.
- 1:56:16Speaker 2: Tomorrow find out Takeaway.
- 1:56:19Speaker 5: Is not happy with the fifteen yard punt by Barringer.
- 1:56:22Speaker 4: I'm sure that made him out right. This was one
- 1:56:25Speaker 4: of the rare games that we didn't talk a ton
- 1:56:28Speaker 4: after the game, so we didn't have our debriefs.
- 1:56:31Speaker 2: Oh wow, he didn't meet up.
- 1:56:34Speaker 4: No, No, he had to do the the sports Hub podcast. Yeah, right,
- 1:56:39Speaker 4: he had to do the Sports Hub podcast. So that
- 1:56:43Speaker 4: was he had to run out on Sunday, so we didn't. Usually,
- 1:56:47Speaker 4: you know, we try to time it up and sometimes
- 1:56:49Speaker 4: we walked to our cars together.
- 1:56:50Speaker 7: We do by the Brady statue and have a little
- 1:56:53Speaker 7: you know, just we could do that too.
- 1:56:55Speaker 6: It's Mike and I. We have our little debrief walking.
- 1:56:58Speaker 5: It's a post game show debrief usually shivering.
- 1:57:00Speaker 4: You guys do the debrief on the post game show.
- 1:57:02Speaker 4: Then you debrief for real because you tell your real feelings.
- 1:57:07Speaker 2: Yep, exactly.
- 1:57:09Speaker 6: They've been one and the same with these games.
- 1:57:11Speaker 2: Thanks for being here today. We'll see you tomorrow.
- 1:57:16Speaker 3: Hey, this is Alex. Thanks for tuning into the show.
- 1:57:18Speaker 2: If you really want to help.
- 1:57:19Speaker 22: Us, make sure you like us on Apple Podcasts, Spotify

- 1:57:30Speaker 2: Thanks a lot,
