- 0:03Speaker 1: This is a Bramble Jam podcast this week on your
- 0:14Speaker 1: gabble gabble. If you're supposed to sing in a cigar
- 0:16Speaker 1: bar but it's too smoky, can you get a refund
- 0:19Speaker 1: on your investment? Are you up the river?
- 0:26Speaker 2: If you spend our first night in a new place
- 0:29Speaker 2: and you're welcome by a dog, does that give you
- 0:32Speaker 2: grounds to leave? Or bitch you out of love? Judge
- 0:37Speaker 2: Brahmas tells us real people.
- 0:38Speaker 1: Real cases. Thanks Justice. This is Joe gabble gabble.
- 0:42Speaker 3: That's all not a curse. Yeah, that's the we're talking about.
- 0:47Speaker 3: Ducks gable gabble. I have a few things there. Welcome
- 0:50Speaker 3: to the gavel, everybody walcing inside the chambers. Number one.
- 0:53Speaker 3: We started this thing and I had nothing, had thought
- 0:55Speaker 3: of nothing, and was just like I'm here, here we go.
- 0:58Speaker 1: No, no, I don't believe that. Second of all, your
- 1:01Speaker 1: commitment to saying the word awokened, which is not a word,
- 1:05Speaker 1: is next level. You say it regularly.
- 1:09Speaker 3: A wokened awoken is not a word, but congratulations. And
- 1:14Speaker 3: and if you don't want to be woke like me,
- 1:16Speaker 3: then keep it living that life woken. I have been awokens.
- 1:20Speaker 3: It's call me a woke B. They call me woke
- 1:22Speaker 3: b B. They call me woke by, call you woke
- 1:23Speaker 3: B from now one.
- 1:24Speaker 1: I can do that for sure. That's all I'm saying. Yeah,
- 1:27Speaker 1: can I go first? I would love it if you
- 1:29Speaker 1: go first. Let's talk about Judge Matthews. Woke B. We
- 1:32Speaker 1: love Judge Matthis, we love a Mathis.
- 1:34Speaker 2: Emily Cox is suing Tracy Robinson for fourteen hundred dollars
- 1:40Speaker 2: uh for a deposit.
- 1:42Speaker 1: Okay. Tracy is counter suing for thirty five hundred.
- 1:45Speaker 3: Dollars the first one again, fourteen hundred sore over double yeah?
- 1:52Speaker 1: Okay, Uh for defamation. Okay, defamation of character. Exactly right.
- 1:57Speaker 2: So Emily used to live with Tracy. She was in
- 2:00Speaker 2: need of a place to live. Found an ad for
- 2:03Speaker 2: a room, A private room, private bathroom. Great, she says,
- 2:07Speaker 2: all right, I'm in. So she says, though it was
- 2:12Speaker 2: a nightmare.
- 2:14Speaker 1: You hate to hear it.
- 2:15Speaker 2: She says, Tracy's an alcoholic. And the first night there,
- 2:20Speaker 2: she is down in the sauce, down in the saw,
- 2:24Speaker 2: down in the sauce, and she goes on a tirade
- 2:28Speaker 2: about muslims. Oh no, Mathis is like, how'd this come up?
- 2:34Speaker 2: And she says, you know, I don't know. She just
- 2:38Speaker 2: randomly said I would never rent to a Muslim because
- 2:41Speaker 2: I'm afraid they'd kill me because I eat bacon. Matthews
- 2:45Speaker 2: Matthis says, so she just said this to you randomly
- 2:51Speaker 2: out of the blue, and Emily says yes. Matthews says,
- 2:55Speaker 2: I don't believe that. Sounds like Matthews, sounds like the
- 2:59Speaker 2: mathis we know and love, So move on. She says, Okay.
- 3:04Speaker 2: The first night there there is a ten thirty pm
- 3:10Speaker 2: quiet time. Can't you can't make noise after ten thirty
- 3:13Speaker 2: time of the Lord quiet time, individual quiet time thirty
- 3:18Speaker 2: for everybody that's exactly right, go to the Warrior war room,
- 3:22Speaker 2: and also anytime after your personal quiet time, it also
- 3:25Speaker 2: has to remain quiet, So no more, no sound, no party,
- 3:29Speaker 2: and no a loud music, nothing like that.
- 3:30Speaker 1: After ten it is two, A m.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Eastern stated, I don't know, and her and her son
- 3:39Speaker 2: are awoken by Tracy's barking dog, little shit Sue.
- 3:45Speaker 1: And Tracy is the one that just has the one room.
- 3:48Speaker 2: Tracy is her this is her place, yes, and this Emily,
- 3:54Speaker 2: her little ship Sue is causing all the problems. A
- 3:56Speaker 2: little shit too is being a real shiit sue, real bitch.
- 4:01Speaker 1: Yeah, if you will, and uh no, I don't know,
- 4:05Speaker 1: I don't know where we're going here, but whatever, it
- 4:07Speaker 1: was good.
- 4:08Speaker 2: And so she goes to like check because it's like
- 4:11Speaker 2: going on for a while and remember a quiet time.
- 4:13Speaker 2: And so she goes opens up that she's like it, Tracy,
- 4:17Speaker 2: there's no answer, Tracy's no answer.
- 4:20Speaker 1: Tracy, she's not saying.
- 4:22Speaker 2: So finally she goes over, she opens the door, and
- 4:25Speaker 2: she can smell the alcohol. That's as she suspected. Yeah,
- 4:28Speaker 2: exactly right. So she decides she's gonna let she's gonna
- 4:31Speaker 2: let the dog go potty. Yes, no, it's not like that,
- 4:35Speaker 2: and uh, potty potty, it's tied to potty.
- 4:39Speaker 1: Uh we like the potty, we like we like to patty.
- 4:45Speaker 2: And so she brings the dog back in and she
- 4:48Speaker 2: goes to stay with her dad the rest of the
- 4:50Speaker 2: night because she she's just like no.
- 4:52Speaker 1: So tie.
- 4:54Speaker 2: So she says, I lived there for four days.
- 4:58Speaker 1: I just couldn't take it anymore. So she ask for
- 5:00Speaker 1: a deposit back. Judge asks to see the.
- 5:05Speaker 2: Text that she sent to say to say hey, I'm leaving,
- 5:10Speaker 2: and we see the text and the text is basically
- 5:12Speaker 2: just saying the dog it was too much that one night,
- 5:16Speaker 2: so I can't stay. So nothing about Muslims, nothing about racism,
- 5:21Speaker 2: just like nothing about There's also a point in here
- 5:26Speaker 2: about Tracy pouring dialysis medicine into her toilets that is
- 5:35Speaker 2: supposed to be hers. It's her private bathroom. She claims
- 5:38Speaker 2: that Tracy when anytime she had to get rid of
- 5:41Speaker 2: I don't really know anything about dialysis, but she was
- 5:44Speaker 2: emptying a dialysis thing in her private bathroom. Yes, gotcha,
- 5:53Speaker 2: But nothing about that either in the text.
- 5:55Speaker 1: It's just so uh.
- 6:00Speaker 2: He explains that there's nothing she can do about barking dogs.
- 6:04Speaker 2: First of all, they don't know about quiet time. She
- 6:07Speaker 2: does say they, which is pretty funny. She thought that
- 6:10Speaker 2: they were getting along nicely, but she just up and
- 6:13Speaker 2: left after four days. She explains that she signed a
- 6:15Speaker 2: lease for six months, and the lease says that you
- 6:19Speaker 2: can't get your deposit back.
- 6:20Speaker 1: So I don't even know why we're here.
- 6:21Speaker 2: Yeah, Matthis asks Emily if the dogs barked every night,
- 6:27Speaker 2: and what do you think?
- 6:28Speaker 1: She says, yes, no, what just the one night? What
- 6:32Speaker 1: a dufus?
- 6:34Speaker 2: You're so not smart, Emily explains, she was really frustrated
- 6:38Speaker 2: that first night, and then that that happened after the
- 6:41Speaker 2: whole Muslim incident, and so she was like already feeling weird.
- 6:45Speaker 2: And then the fact that she didn't have a private
- 6:48Speaker 2: bathroom as she was told because she keeps emptying out
- 6:50Speaker 2: the dialysis tank or whatever. It was just too much.
- 6:54Speaker 2: And she and he says, well, why didn't she say
- 6:55Speaker 2: any of that? Why didn't you bring that to her?
- 6:58Speaker 2: Why didn't you, Like, you're only there for four days,
- 7:01Speaker 2: the dog was only barking one night. In this text,
- 7:04Speaker 2: you don't say anything about the Muslim thing or the
- 7:06Speaker 2: dialysis thing. You just say the dog barking thing. Why
- 7:08Speaker 2: don't you say anything about that? She's like, well, I
- 7:10Speaker 2: felt bad about the diale like her daughter a dialysis.
- 7:13Speaker 1: I felt bad, weird about that. Blah blah blah.
- 7:17Speaker 2: Where are the numbers from? Like the number she's suing
- 7:21Speaker 2: for her deposit back? Okay, So the number that Tracy
- 7:24Speaker 2: is suing for is for defamation, and that brings us
- 7:28Speaker 2: to this defamation case where Tracy shows Judge matthis a
- 7:34Speaker 2: post from emily social media page calling her an alcoholic racist.
- 7:37Speaker 2: We don't get to see that post, but matthis season
- 7:41Speaker 2: and goes whoa, whoa, and Emily says, maybe I shouldn't
- 7:45Speaker 2: have said that, but you know, I was frustrated at.
- 7:47Speaker 1: The time, not doing herself any favors.
- 7:49Speaker 3: In the court, judge Mathis is ready to rule she's
- 7:51Speaker 3: not getting a deposit back because she was not smart
- 7:53Speaker 3: enough to say the dog was barking every night, and
- 7:56Speaker 3: she didn't do anything against the least the private bathroom
- 7:59Speaker 3: thing she didn't mentioned as a complaint. I think that's
- 8:01Speaker 3: the big problem, definitely is your character. With Matthes's reaction.
- 8:09Speaker 1: Give her the amount of money that the other one
- 8:11Speaker 1: was suing for. Give her fourteen hundred dollars close.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Emily's not getting anything. He explains that in order to
- 8:18Speaker 2: get your money back with a least like this, you
- 8:22Speaker 2: have to prove that the living conditions are unbearable. You
- 8:25Speaker 2: did not prove that one night of barking dogs not unbearable.
- 8:29Speaker 2: It's annoying, but not unbearable.
- 8:32Speaker 1: Tracy gets the full amount that she assumed.
- 8:36Speaker 2: You can't go on the Facebook and say that somebody
- 8:40Speaker 2: is a racist, alcoholic and the.
- 8:43Speaker 1: Least proposed about your brain. I'm really really sorry, No,
- 8:46Speaker 1: that's true.
- 8:48Speaker 2: So I think there's enough evidence to go around for that,
- 8:51Speaker 2: and so that's why I would never.
- 8:52Speaker 1: See I'd lose that case. You would lose it.
- 8:55Speaker 2: And so there you go. Tracy gets the full mount.
- 8:57Speaker 2: Honestly didn't see it coming when.
- 8:58Speaker 1: I went put into this. Now here's the thing.
- 9:01Speaker 2: I honestly think Mathis made up his mind about the
- 9:05Speaker 2: Muslim thing, and he was like, I'm not even.
- 9:08Speaker 1: Gonna play ball here.
- 9:10Speaker 2: So he he kind of mentioned like, Hey, you've seen
- 9:12Speaker 2: my show before. You know that I'm somebody who isn't
- 9:15Speaker 2: going to put up with with racism. I'm gonna I'm
- 9:18Speaker 2: gonna be on the side of defending the people that
- 9:21Speaker 2: need to be defended. So you came in here, you
- 9:24Speaker 2: made up something about this woman decided being a racist,
- 9:28Speaker 2: and you thought that that would make me be more
- 9:31Speaker 2: open to you. Leaving after one night of barking boss
- 9:35Speaker 2: did not work. So there you go a lot of
- 9:38Speaker 2: assumptions on Mathis's end. I I found the woman to
- 9:43Speaker 2: be believable. It's just a weird that's what it was.
- 9:49Speaker 2: A weird story to make up. She didn't prove that
- 9:52Speaker 2: that part of it is weird to make up. But
- 9:54Speaker 2: she didn't prove she improved that it. No, I don't
- 9:57Speaker 2: disagree with the ruling. Actually, I just I found it
- 10:00Speaker 2: very interesting that he he didn't find her believe why
- 10:03Speaker 2: I found.
- 10:03Speaker 1: Her to be.
- 10:04Speaker 3: Can I tell you where you can leave your assumptions
- 10:07Speaker 3: at the doorstep and get the heck out of here?
- 10:09Speaker 1: Is Judge Ross's court room. That's true.
- 10:11Speaker 3: After we take a break, I think we should get
- 10:13Speaker 3: to my care. I love that here on yo, gabble, gabble.
- 10:21Speaker 1: Oh boy, back here on yo gabble. Can I tell
- 10:24Speaker 1: you what I've heard? What have you heard? So, Judge Ross,
- 10:26Speaker 1: I've heard.
- 10:27Speaker 2: Something about this and you can turn around about Judge
- 10:29Speaker 2: can tell me if it's true. But I've heard that
- 10:31Speaker 2: in Judge Ross's court you know justice.
- 10:34Speaker 1: I know justice, and I think I know where you're
- 10:36Speaker 1: going with this. Everywhere else it seems as if it's
- 10:39Speaker 1: a foreign concept. It's really important in Judge Ross's court
- 10:42Speaker 1: room that you know that justice is not foreign concept.
- 10:45Speaker 2: In his court room, it seems like this is the
- 10:48Speaker 2: exact opposite of everywhere else.
- 10:50Speaker 1: Justice is not a foreign Ross is fantastic. Would would
- 10:53Speaker 1: love uh to to to.
- 10:57Speaker 3: Just be friends with that guy, And like if I
- 10:59Speaker 3: was friends with him, and I had ordered wings for lunch.
- 11:01Speaker 1: I would hope that he wasn't mad he was, and
- 11:04Speaker 1: he'd understand that's right, okay.
- 11:06Speaker 3: Uh so, yeah, so let's get this because that's not
- 11:11Speaker 3: that's not your problem.
- 11:12Speaker 1: It'd be like one of the things if I ordered
- 11:13Speaker 1: it at like eleven fifteen and I went, well, Ross
- 11:15Speaker 1: hasn't been in all morning, it doesn't really matter. It's
- 11:18Speaker 1: like it's eleven fifteen.
- 11:19Speaker 3: It's this point I would know if Ross would have
- 11:24Speaker 3: wanted wings.
- 11:27Speaker 1: Go ahead. Aeron Producer Aaron would like to note that
- 11:29Speaker 1: she did suggest reaching out to Judge Ross. I have
- 11:33Speaker 1: positive that. Producer Aaron said.
- 11:36Speaker 3: Why would we It's already eleven thirty almost, why would
- 11:38Speaker 3: we even ask? Is what producer Aaron said.
- 11:41Speaker 1: But Producer Aaron did say, should I reach out to
- 11:43Speaker 1: Judge Ross? Was hypothetical? Wings?
- 11:46Speaker 2: In my defense, it was after eleven and this isn't
- 11:50Speaker 2: about you. But come on in, come on in here
- 11:53Speaker 2: real quick. How do you think that this all all
- 11:56Speaker 2: would play out if you again it was assuming court?
- 12:00Speaker 4: Yeah, I feel like there's a case. Uh, I mean,
- 12:04Speaker 4: you willingly, knowingly, obviously decided against one route. He chose
- 12:09Speaker 4: a route, So there's guilt on both sides.
- 12:12Speaker 2: I would say the I mean, if Brian shut up
- 12:15Speaker 2: to work on times.
- 12:16Speaker 4: It's Wing Wednesday in there.
- 12:18Speaker 1: But Judge Ross, Ye, Judge Ross.
- 12:22Speaker 3: Last Wednesday we ordered wings and I texted him yeah,
- 12:25Speaker 3: and it was a no go.
- 12:26Speaker 1: And that was like ten thirty in the morning. Judge
- 12:28Speaker 1: Ross has skipped Wing Wednesday. Has a history, yeah, of
- 12:32Speaker 1: not being around for Wing Wednesday. And then it was
- 12:35Speaker 1: eleven fifteen. Ross has never been here for Wing Wednesday's
- 12:40Speaker 1: are we talking the weeks you're going? Like on the
- 12:43Speaker 1: cruise we all ate with Judge Ross. Judge Ross came
- 12:45Speaker 1: here for Wing Wednesday.
- 12:46Speaker 4: Yeah, he did.
- 12:47Speaker 1: I know Brian sometimes joined us. I don't. Maybe I'm
- 12:50Speaker 1: a little lost. Let's get back to you. You were on
- 12:52Speaker 1: a cruise. Wings were not a foreign concept that week
- 12:54Speaker 1: A good time. Let's get back to Elijah Whitlock is
- 12:58Speaker 1: suing Elijahngate Luck strawing Aaron Reyes for nine hundred dollars
- 13:06Speaker 1: Big Ones, nine hundred dollars nine lounge. What he tells
- 13:10Speaker 1: Ross is is he's a singer.
- 13:11Speaker 3: He gets hired by Aaron to play guitar and sing
- 13:14Speaker 3: at Aaron's bar, and he was supposed to be compensated
- 13:18Speaker 3: eighteen hundred bucks for a month's worth of work. They
- 13:21Speaker 3: had chosen a few week days every week.
- 13:23Speaker 1: How long do you know how long each set is? Nope,
- 13:25Speaker 1: I have no idea.
- 13:27Speaker 3: Aaron is like, rosse, what kind of bar is He's like,
- 13:29Speaker 3: it's a whiskey and cigar bar and cigar lounge.
- 13:33Speaker 1: Uh and interesting? And he goes, Okay, so you're suing.
- 13:36Speaker 1: Why are you suing you? Had you ever been to
- 13:37Speaker 1: a cigar lounge? I have? It's not my deal. I'm
- 13:40Speaker 1: not a big cigar guy.
- 13:41Speaker 3: I tried to be when I was like twenty, and
- 13:43Speaker 3: I was like, this is stupid and I don't like it.
- 13:46Speaker 3: It's not stupid. I'm sure it's wonderful if you love
- 13:48Speaker 3: a cigar. It was for me.
- 13:49Speaker 1: I would wake up the next morning my throat would hurt.
- 13:51Speaker 1: I just like, yeah, not not down. Oh yeah, you know,
- 13:55Speaker 1: not for me? Yeah? Yeah, are your cigar guy?
- 13:59Speaker 2: I don't frequent them, know, but when they're around, I
- 14:01Speaker 2: enjoy it. I enjoy the activity.
- 14:03Speaker 1: Okay, you enjoy that. Yeah, it's about the fellowship. Really,
- 14:05Speaker 1: it's about the fellowship. That's exactly right.
- 14:07Speaker 2: When I found out that Christians could smoke, could smoke
- 14:10Speaker 2: cigars and drink bourbon moldy. Yeah, there was a there
- 14:14Speaker 2: was a time period where that was when God really
- 14:16Speaker 2: became real for me. So Ross is very skeptical about this.
- 14:21Speaker 2: He's like, so you're telling me that you're complaining about
- 14:25Speaker 2: the conditions of a cigar lounge and you couldn't perform there.
- 14:32Speaker 2: And Ali's like, yeah, I am ever been to the bar,
- 14:35Speaker 2: Like how did this? How did this relationship start?
- 14:38Speaker 3: He's like, look, there's no problem singing in a smoke
- 14:40Speaker 3: filed room.
- 14:41Speaker 1: As long as there's a singer in a smoking room.
- 14:45Speaker 3: Uh, as long as there's enough room, Like, as long
- 14:47Speaker 3: as I have a stage or something, it's fine. And uh,
- 14:52Speaker 3: Ross say, you don't have a separate place for the band?
- 14:54Speaker 3: Is he just in the crowd? And Aaron's like, we do.
- 14:56Speaker 3: We have a band that performs year round every weekend
- 14:58Speaker 3: and they have a stage in the back and it's
- 15:02Speaker 3: all for them, and and Ross is like, so, what's
- 15:04Speaker 3: the issue. Elijah's like, well, the band has a big stage.
- 15:07Speaker 3: It's separate from the tables. Aaron had me on this small,
- 15:11Speaker 3: little like platform stage in the middle of all of the.
- 15:15Speaker 1: Tables of people smoking cigars. So it's interesting. When I
- 15:19Speaker 1: went to tour the bar, I didn't see that. Stug
- 15:23Speaker 1: just saw the big stage, the big stage in the back,
- 15:25Speaker 1: whereas now I'm in the middle of it. It's interesting.
- 15:28Speaker 3: And so there's there's a tiny little platform, there's all
- 15:30Speaker 3: these tables, all the smoke. If I'd been in the
- 15:33Speaker 3: back room, it wouldn't have been an issue.
- 15:35Speaker 4: Uh.
- 15:36Speaker 3: And what Ross was like, did you tell him this
- 15:37Speaker 3: ahead of time? Aaron was like, well, he came in,
- 15:40Speaker 3: toured the bar and agreed. I didn't think I needed
- 15:43Speaker 3: to give him any other details. He knew the space,
- 15:44Speaker 3: he knew everybody's gonna be smoking cigars. And Elijah's like,
- 15:49Speaker 3: I have a blueprint of the bar, so I can
- 15:50Speaker 3: hear here. You go like, sure, I brought it up.
- 15:53Speaker 3: She's like, Ross, this is where that stage is, this
- 15:55Speaker 3: is where I was blah blah blah, and Ross is
- 15:56Speaker 3: like okay.
- 15:57Speaker 1: Elijah then says, oh no, Elijah needed some evidence he
- 16:03Speaker 1: brought up Yeah.
- 16:04Speaker 3: Ross is like, was Elijah the first person to ever
- 16:06Speaker 3: perform on the smaller stage?
- 16:07Speaker 1: Great question by Ross, A great question. Aaron Reyes says, yes.
- 16:11Speaker 2: First time.
- 16:12Speaker 1: We're trying it out.
- 16:13Speaker 3: Interesting Weekday performer Elijah said, I even asked Aaron when
- 16:17Speaker 3: I saw the setup, is there any.
- 16:19Speaker 1: Way that I can move to the backstage?
- 16:22Speaker 3: Aaron said no. I started singing. I then tried to
- 16:26Speaker 3: politely ask customers if they could move away from the
- 16:28Speaker 3: stage because I was coughing. I couldn't breathe. Ross was like,
- 16:32Speaker 3: you asked customers in a cigar bar to stop smoking
- 16:38Speaker 3: their cigars?
- 16:39Speaker 1: Wow?
- 16:40Speaker 3: And he's like, your honor, I just needed a bit
- 16:42Speaker 3: of room from the smoke. He's like, you want customers
- 16:45Speaker 3: that have paid to be in a cigar bar to
- 16:47Speaker 3: not smoke. What kind of sense does that make? How
- 16:50Speaker 3: long did you perform? He goes, I performed for two weeks.
- 16:52Speaker 3: I powered through before two weeks, and then he basically
- 16:56Speaker 3: he fired me. He paid me nine hundred dollars of
- 16:58Speaker 3: the eighteen hundred because I said I need to go
- 17:01Speaker 3: to the backstage.
- 17:01Speaker 1: He said no, he gave me nine hundred. The contract
- 17:04Speaker 1: was for a month. I'm suing for the other nine
- 17:06Speaker 1: hundred dollars. It's interesting, Aaron, see the contract.
- 17:10Speaker 4: Your honor.
- 17:11Speaker 1: We're getting there, your honor.
- 17:12Speaker 3: I fired him because online people were complaining about him.
- 17:17Speaker 1: They said the guy.
- 17:18Speaker 3: That's see asking me to move or to go outside
- 17:24Speaker 3: at a cigar bar.
- 17:25Speaker 1: It was terrible for my business.
- 17:28Speaker 3: Elijah is like, da absolutely five story if you could
- 17:31Speaker 3: five started, and I'm just saying they'd asked me to
- 17:34Speaker 3: move away, ask me to move away from I was
- 17:35Speaker 3: smoking too close in the stage. And then he said,
- 17:39Speaker 3: Elijah tells me nine hundred dollars. I have the contract.
- 17:42Speaker 3: It stated in the contract, and he hands it to you.
- 17:44Speaker 3: As he says this to Ross, he says, I can
- 17:47Speaker 3: go over it with you. Ross is not like that.
- 17:51Speaker 3: Ross says, you don't need to go over it with me.
- 17:53Speaker 3: I don't how to read a contract. That's one of
- 17:55Speaker 3: the first courses that they teach you in law school.
- 17:58Speaker 3: I can read a contract saying thank you very much.
- 18:01Speaker 1: So you poked the bear.
- 18:03Speaker 3: Yeah you did, so we read the contract. Is a
- 18:05Speaker 3: very basic one page contract. A month of singing eighteen
- 18:10Speaker 3: hundred bucks. That is, you get eighteen hundred you sing
- 18:14Speaker 3: a month for me, you get eighteen hundred dollars. Doesn't
- 18:16Speaker 3: say anything else, doesn't really say anything else at all.
- 18:18Speaker 3: Ross is ready to rule at this point.
- 18:20Speaker 1: It's interesting, I do.
- 18:23Speaker 2: I think that this should have This was a uh.
- 18:28Speaker 1: Kind of like a mutual split.
- 18:31Speaker 2: Right, he the singer, Elijah didn't really want to do
- 18:36Speaker 2: it anymore. Right, it was power, he said he powered
- 18:39Speaker 2: to for two weeks. Correct, the owner was getting bad reviews.
- 18:43Speaker 2: I do think that the owner should have tried to
- 18:50Speaker 2: keep Elijah to honor the contract. When I leave, I'm
- 18:54Speaker 2: gonna go out like Elijah Amen by moving him, like, hey,
- 18:58Speaker 2: let's move you to the stage. Yeah, clearly this is
- 19:00Speaker 2: not working. It doesn't seem like the owner was willing
- 19:03Speaker 2: to do that and fired him by and large without cause.
- 19:09Speaker 2: And I think he's gonna get the money. I do
- 19:12Speaker 2: think it's tough. I could see him not getting the
- 19:14Speaker 2: money because he was affecting his business reviews or everything.
- 19:21Speaker 2: But I do think the contract, although it is loose,
- 19:27Speaker 2: says hey, we're going to do this for a month.
- 19:29Speaker 2: We're going to do eighteen hundred dollars. And although although
- 19:34Speaker 2: Elijah was complaining, he was showing up, he was doing
- 19:37Speaker 2: his job. And for that reason, I think he's going
- 19:40Speaker 2: to get the money.
- 19:40Speaker 3: He is going to get the money. And the reason
- 19:42Speaker 3: he's going to get the money is because in Jude
- 19:43Speaker 3: Ross's courtroom, justice is not a foreign about him. Yes,
- 19:47Speaker 3: he says, Hey, I get why you fired this guy. However,
- 19:50Speaker 3: this is not a well written contract. You did not
- 19:53Speaker 3: give yourself an out. It doesn't say anything about performance
- 19:57Speaker 3: is substandard. I don't have to pay him.
- 20:00Speaker 2: If the If he's like, does a contract, A contract
- 20:04Speaker 2: can be terminates any time.
- 20:05Speaker 1: It's yes, not guaranteed.
- 20:07Speaker 3: It's a teachable moment. Put it in writing. You didn't
- 20:10Speaker 3: he gets the nine hundred bucks.
- 20:11Speaker 2: If you don't want your contract to be guaranteed, you
- 20:15Speaker 2: have to say it's not guaranteed. Yeah, this isn't a guaranteed.
- 20:18Speaker 2: It's a hundred it's each week. Each week is guaranteed,
- 20:20Speaker 2: but the month is not guaranteed. Class is what you
- 20:22Speaker 2: should do.
- 20:22Speaker 1: We did it. We did do it everybody.
- 20:24Speaker 2: We're gonna be done and we'll be back next week
- 20:27Speaker 2: with another one.
- 20:28Speaker 1: Until then, all right right yo. Gabble Gabbles a bramble
