- 0:09Hello and welcome back to another episode of Bantu
- 0:11Laurencia. How are you all?
- 0:12Do you know if you're doing great seasons?
- 0:15Greetings to everyone preparing for Christmas, New Year and
- 0:18every plans you have. Basically for the end of the
- 0:21year, I wish you all the best and all the best in your
- 0:24preparations. Now for today's episode, I want
- 0:26to talk about the Real Housewives of Lagos.
- 0:30Now this season just rounded off Season 2 and I must tell you I
- 0:36am traumatised. This season has been filled with
- 0:40drama. And not just drama, but I think
- 0:43systematic bullying. Should I call it systematic
- 0:48bullying? What bullying in general?
- 0:50Anyway, now this the season started with new introduction.
- 0:55We have two cast members. New 2 cast members, Tanya and
- 1:02Faith. Faith is this 6 foods model.
- 1:06Like faces. Really beautiful, big boobs, the
- 1:11usual, you know, Barbie doll kind of person.
- 1:14And she's also very stylish because I think she's a model.
- 1:18So that is not new. I mean, we've had people on the
- 1:22show like Choma. She's not a model, but she's
- 1:24very stylish. We have Tiana, King of style,
- 1:29king of fashion, and she comes in in each episode with a very
- 1:35lavish, you know, elaborate fashion sense, which she's known
- 1:41with. So I was very shocked when Faith
- 1:44walked in with a very long train.
- 1:46And yeah, but literally walked on that train that trained for a
- 1:50very long time. But I was thinking, OK, I don't
- 1:52want to say anything about it. Maybe something happened before
- 1:55or behind the scene that we did not see.
- 1:58Maybe along the line. We're going to get clarity on
- 2:02the whole situation. The next thing I could remember
- 2:04after that was Iyappa's daughter partnering with Faith.
- 2:09You know, Faith wanted us to model some of her collections.
- 2:13I think she deals in jewellery and all that ear ball during her
- 2:17confessionals was very vocal about she does not want her
- 2:20daughter doing or helping Faith out because they are in the same
- 2:24business. And I was thinking the sky is
- 2:27big enough for everybody. If your daughter who is an
- 2:30adult, want to work with Faith, I mean she's been paid for it.
- 2:35So even if it's not paid and his partnership, whatever your
- 2:39daughter has agreed to do, she's about or she could do that.
- 2:43She has her own brand, her own customers, her own style.
- 2:48I mean, fate is doing something different.
- 2:50Yeah, they are into fashion or you cannot say because Faith is
- 2:54doing the same thing as your daughter, so she should.
- 2:57So I think that was where the problem started because that is
- 3:01the only explanation I could think of.
- 3:05They all blacklisted Faith saying that she wants to take
- 3:07their their crown. Like who gave anybody crown in
- 3:10this show? I mean, I ever was feeling like,
- 3:13you know, the collar Queen Mother basically.
- 3:16I don't think I I can't even. I don't.
- 3:20I never crowned the apple. Maybe the cast members kind of
- 3:24crowned her queen. Whatever.
- 3:26But I don't think we watching saw her as this queen for me.
- 3:31I'd even put Tiana before, so that was a whole lot of drama.
- 3:38Was trying to reclaim her crown. Everybody was rallying around
- 3:43the Yarborough because I think they felt threatened by Faith.
- 3:48Now Faith, you know how reality TV show you have to introduce
- 3:52somebody like a new cast member as your friend.
- 3:55Basically Faith came in as Laura's friend.
- 3:59So Faith brought in Doctor Rome as a friend.
- 4:09Now she introduced local roommate and everything was
- 4:12going on well. Doctor Romeo, I think he is.
- 4:16I don't know if he's flying different colours, I am not sure
- 4:21because he hasn't actually come out to say anything like that.
- 4:24But look, Doctor Romain is a very colourful individual.
- 4:28Both what he says. He's a doctor.
- 4:31He lives in the US He's trying to open up a clinic, Botox
- 4:35clinic in Nigeria. So he kind of partnered with
- 4:38Faith and they started kind of a friendship.
- 4:42But something went South. And before then, Doctor Romeo
- 4:46was kind of, you know, this that was just a key.
- 4:50Woo you a guy. Chill out.
- 4:53Even if you want to bring drama, there are certain ways you can
- 4:56bring drama and not pull. I think that is the whole thing
- 5:00I got from this whole season two of the Real Housewives of Lagos.
- 5:04Some of them are saying that like Iabo came out and said they
- 5:07told her to bring drama. But even if you're a total bring
- 5:11drummer, you don't have to bring somebody down and rally the plan
- 5:16to dislike somebody or to hate somebody or to single somebody
- 5:21out just because you want to bring drama.
- 5:24Tiana had a fight with Miriam Miriam this season.
- 5:28I think somebody told her last season, you're just, you know,
- 5:32standing in the shadows of Tiana.
- 5:36So you need to do something to bring out, you know, your drama
- 5:40come out of the shadows of Tiana.
- 5:42So this season she decided to make Tiana her enemy.
- 5:47I don't know what happened because they didn't like, I
- 5:50didn't even care about what happened.
- 5:52If you be friends with somebody for I think they said over 10
- 5:56years, there are certain things that shouldn't even happen.
- 6:00If somebody, even if that person said something about you and you
- 6:04could coexist with people, you could.
- 6:08I don't know if it's an Aquarius thing, but I we, I can ignore
- 6:12people. I can be in the same room with
- 6:14you, have conversations with you and not even give a good like
- 6:22once I leave that room it ends there.
- 6:25And she said she's PR person. Like what do you tell your
- 6:29clients when they are in the public spare?
- 6:33They have to work with people, maybe different people in the
- 6:36movie industry, music industry, and maybe personally they have
- 6:39issues with that person, but a brand approached them to work
- 6:43together. Would you say, oh don't work
- 6:45with them or give them attitude or what?
- 6:47You're just going to be stopping your bank?
- 6:50Like, learn to coexist with people, learn to be in the same
- 6:54room, learn to have arguments, constructive arguments without
- 6:58even. Like, I love faith.
- 7:01I love her because she could sit down with everything I talk,
- 7:11explain herself without being like literally coming to
- 7:17people's faces or pointing fingers.
- 7:19Miriam house, we just flying up and down.
- 7:22I think that was why Tiana got physical with her, which was not
- 7:27necessary. Like, I don't even think that
- 7:30should have happened, but I think that was what kind of
- 7:34triggered her for Tiana. She had medical challenges and
- 7:39even the last episode she was not there because I think she
- 7:43later posted on my Instagram page that she was dealing with
- 7:46her health challenges. Now Tanya, who just got into the
- 7:50whole mix, I think would have been they were trying to kind of
- 7:54replace Caroline, but I would have preferred I would prefer 10
- 7:59Carolines to one Tanya. Or like Tanya did not just work
- 8:04because I think she was just trying to be a people's pleaser
- 8:08and move with the crowd. And since the crowd, you know,
- 8:12which is Yabo Joe basically with Armenians trauma they were
- 8:18hating on faith and somehow Laura, because Laura brought us
- 8:23with group. So she kind of moves those
- 8:27people. So when it comes to
- 8:28conversations of did you see what happened, if that was going
- 8:31to favour anybody in her camp, she would not.
- 8:35She would fame Amisha. She would be like, oh, I did not
- 8:39remember like when Choma and Miriam had kind of a squabble
- 8:43and she actually was there trying to separate the whole
- 8:47thing. But because her friend she's
- 8:51friends with trauma or she's friends with Yabo, who is by
- 8:55extension Chambers friend, she kind of claimed she didn't
- 9:03remember what happened or she was not like she just but when
- 9:07it comes to some of the information that is going to
- 9:10kind of benefits or tarnish somebody else's image that she's
- 9:15not friends with, she's happy to bring it up cook up things.
- 9:20So Tanya for me did not work out like she she did not bring it.
- 9:26No style no intelligence. No.
- 9:30Like she did not bring it for me.
- 9:31I'm sorry. Maybe some people like that.
- 9:34But that did not work for me. The other person I'm going to
- 9:38talk about is Doctor Rumen. Hey, I don't even know if he was
- 9:43part of the housewives because he was not.
- 9:45I don't think he was formally introduced as a housewife.
- 9:49He just came in as a friend because the ladies, they don't
- 9:52like faith. They use doctor as a weapon
- 9:57fashion against her. So anyway they're going to
- 10:02invite, is it rumour, whatever, He will just he's this kind of
- 10:07person that you never want to have as a friend.
- 10:10Because as a friend, he is going to sit down there with you,
- 10:14bring up people, talk about them, bash them.
- 10:18And the very slightest minutes that he feels that you're not
- 10:24feeding into that negative energy, he's going to go back to
- 10:28that person that he was talking shit about.
- 10:30And then he's going to tell them everything he said.
- 10:34But he's going to change it that you said that thing.
- 10:38He gave me PTSD. I mean, yes, I've had really
- 10:43horrible friends, but I don't think it was to that extent.
- 10:48Like it was he was and he was a man, he's a doctor.
- 10:55Even Faith said you should be a writer, a script writer.
- 10:59He sat down there was the last dinner they had.
- 11:02He sat down there and talked a whole lot of things about like a
- 11:08whole lot of made-up story about Faith.
- 11:11And I'm very happy that production protocol clips from
- 11:13conversations they had just to ensure that people know what was
- 11:17going on. Let's say if you've not watched
- 11:18the other episode and you're just watching Doctor Miss Pete's
- 11:22Lies. They had those clips there for
- 11:25people to understand that OK, this man is just sitting down
- 11:30knowing that cameras in front of him and he, I, I, I don't get
- 11:36it. I don't understand it.
- 11:37People will say, oh, they told us to bring drama, but I listen,
- 11:42there are dramas that you, even the devil, will stay away from.
- 11:47I think even the devil is looking at Doctor Murray, like,
- 11:50hey, I gave you one, I went nine yards, you know.
- 11:55So this season for me has just been too much drama.
- 12:00Everybody was under the thumbs of Yabo Joe and Yabot said she
- 12:06knew she can bully because Laura accused of actually being a
- 12:09bully. She said yes, that she can.
- 12:11She can be a bully. She does not like you.
- 12:13And we all know the situation with mobile, you know, holding
- 12:18the torchlight for people, not bullying anybody, trying to hold
- 12:23Naira Malia and Sam Larry accountable for the alleged
- 12:27bullying. But the tables are turned, I
- 12:30think. I think that's just that clip
- 12:33had turned the tables. People started seeing Yabba in a
- 12:37different light. Even Naira Molly filed a lawsuit
- 12:45defamation lawsuits seeking for 500 million from Yabuju.
- 12:49The her daughter has come out to defend her mother.
- 12:53Her boyfriend, Polo has been lying, screaming at the top of
- 12:58his voices that she did not mean any bad.
- 13:02But at the end of the day, yeah, boy, I understand that you've
- 13:06been in the industry for, according to you, 25 years.
- 13:10But when I was really into Nollywood movies, I did not know
- 13:13who you are. I'm sorry about that.
- 13:15But that's just the truth. So let's say now we're getting
- 13:20to know you. People that don't know you.
- 13:22We're just getting to know you. I know you're trying to be an
- 13:25activist or you are an activist, which we applaud you for,
- 13:28because everybody wants, whenever they're in a situation,
- 13:32they need somebody that will speak up for them.
- 13:35That is great. We applaud you for that.
- 13:37But going against everything that you know or you represent,
- 13:43to go on a reality show, to bully people, to literally step
- 13:46on people's clothes or dresses or train or whatever you want to
- 13:52say just because you think they are overdressed, what is your
- 13:56business? If they are overdressed?
- 13:57That's their business. That is their fashion.
- 14:00And then you said that you can bully somebody that you don't
- 14:02like, which you literally did on that show.
- 14:06And then you're claiming that they told you to bring drama.
- 14:11If I as a person I stand against, let's say stealing, and
- 14:19this is my guess, my morals against my belief, against
- 14:23everything, every fibre of my being, and then in a reality
- 14:27show which I am supposed to represent who I am and they're
- 14:31selling me, OK, bring drama. I will not pick stealing as my
- 14:39as the drama was going to bring. Like why would I now go and
- 14:43steal somebody's whatever just because oh, they told me to
- 14:46bring drama? This is Iyabo Joe, but coming
- 14:50out as a person, as he abujo online to say, I am this
- 14:56superhuman super activist mother hen and then disassociating
- 15:01yourself from the bully that you were on the Real Housewives of
- 15:05Lagos, That doesn't make sense. Regardless of how you want to
- 15:08spin the narrative, we could all do better.
- 15:11We have everybody watching, We have kids watching, we have the
- 15:16younger generation watching. What do you want them to take
- 15:20away from that programme, regardless whether it's not a
- 15:23movie, it's a reality show, so you hold the pen.
- 15:28They are not giving you scripts, or they're not.
- 15:33Anyway, I think I'm making this video too long, which I don't
- 15:36want to do, but we could all do better.
- 15:39Thank you very much for watching today's episode.
