- 0:00Welcome to today's special reflection. You know,
- 0:03on Emirati Women's Day, we really take the time
- 0:06to celebrate the UAE's pioneering achievements,
- 0:09specifically in empowering women and strengthening
- 0:12their role in advancing the nation's ambitions.
- 0:15The theme, We Emerge Stronger and Better, it
- 0:20reflects a truly visionary approach. This was
- 0:23established by the late founding father, Sheikh
- 0:25Zayed bin Sultan al -Nayan. And it's been reinforced
- 0:28by the wise directives of the UAE's leadership,
- 0:31including His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed
- 0:34al -Nayan, President of the UAE, His Highness
- 0:37Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid al -Maktoum, and of
- 0:39course, Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak,
- 0:42the Mother of the Nation. This whole approach
- 0:46is founded on a firm belief in the capabilities
- 0:48and the potential of Emirati women. It recognizes
- 0:52them as key partners in nation -building and
- 0:55prosperity. They're essential contributors to
- 0:57transforming challenges right into opportunities
- 1:00for growth. Now, this profound national vision
- 1:05isn't just some high -level ideal. It is a reality
- 1:08that's actively fostered within the country's
- 1:11leading institutions today. Take Dubai Electricity
- 1:15and Water Authority, or DIWA, for example. In
- 1:18the year of family, and in line with the Dubai
- 1:20Social Agenda 33, DIWA remains incredibly committed.
- 1:25They provide a motivating, supportive work environment
- 1:28that enables female employees to uphold family
- 1:31stability while still achieving a healthy work
- 1:34-life balance and advancing their careers. And,
- 1:38you know, when an organization truly invests
- 1:40in this balance of family and professional growth,
- 1:43the results just speak for themselves. Diwa's
- 1:47female employees continue to demonstrate exceptional
- 1:49competence. Get this. Diwa employs 1 ,925 women
- 1:55across its divisions, including 844 in engineering
- 1:59and technical roles. Women hold numerous leadership
- 2:03positions, and Emirati women actually account
- 2:05for 85 % of Diwa's total female workforce. They're
- 2:10really investing in national female talent. So
- 2:13here's a question I'd like you to think about
- 2:15today. Looking at this successful model of work
- 2:18-life harmony and professional advancement, How
- 2:21can organizations in your own community further
- 2:23adopt these principles? How do we ensure that
- 2:26women are not just participants, but true leaders
- 2:29in building a sustainable future?
