A former Maryland bank CEO is being sued after his firm helped broker a $3.3 million loan to a fake NFL quarterback — a scam that left a lender holding the bag. The fraudster, posing as Michael Penix Junior, vanished with the cash, and the lender now claims negligence against broker James Plack — a disgraced ex-banker banned in 2015 for shady dealings. Plack’s company allegedly sent forged documents to secure the loan, and only after the money was sent did they admit the borrower was an imposter.
