- 0:00Speaker 1: All right, let's get the music going. Oh, yes, it's
- 0:05Speaker 1: time to talk to our friend.
- 0:08Speaker 2: Victoria, who is in Chicago. She's doing the Lord's work,
- 0:12Speaker 2: watching reality TV so we don't have to.
- 0:15Speaker 3: You have no idea.
- 0:19Speaker 1: I think it's a labor of love, not an obligation.
- 0:22Speaker 3: Yeah, that's true, because I don't believe in God.
- 0:25Speaker 1: All right, what do we got here? You say, let's
- 0:29Speaker 1: start with the unpleasantness. Oh, God.
- 0:31Speaker 2: What have we got?
- 0:31Speaker 3: Talk about labor. And here's the love for you all. Yeah.
- 0:34Speaker 3: So we're going to start with the Secret Lives of
- 0:36Speaker 3: Mormon Wives. Follow me on Judgy Empath on Instagram at
- 0:39Speaker 3: Judgy Empath. I posted my show summaries. So this is
- 0:43Speaker 3: season five, episode five. It's called The Book of Destruction,
- 0:47Speaker 3: The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Um, and, um, we
- 0:51Speaker 3: only got five episodes for season five. And so if
- 0:53Speaker 3: you look at my summary post, basically this is really
- 0:56Speaker 3: always about Taylor and Dakota. Um, I gave it five
- 0:59Speaker 3: out of five secret emojis and the three wise monkeys emojis.
- 1:03Speaker 3: So see no evil, hear no evil, speak no evil,
- 1:06Speaker 3: just don't. Um, so there was, this episode was an
- 1:10Speaker 3: hour long. Um, but we're really only going to talk
- 1:13Speaker 3: about the last 15 minutes. A lot happened. Um, So
- 1:17Speaker 3: we are at Taylor's breaking point. The first picture I
- 1:22Speaker 3: sent you is her crying and she's surrounded by mom talk.
- 1:25Speaker 3: And she's like, I just I hate him so much
- 1:27Speaker 3: and I love him so much. She's talking about Dakota.
- 1:30Speaker 3: And this is in result of a huge like pretty
- 1:33Speaker 3: much the I think 45 minutes of the episode edited
- 1:37Speaker 3: is her arguing with almost everybody in their friend group.
- 1:40Speaker 3: So mom talk. dad talk like they are going around
- 1:44Speaker 3: about everything and all this stuff comes out and she
- 1:48Speaker 3: goes ham on everybody um and then this is her
- 1:51Speaker 3: pattern she has these breakdowns and then kind of like
- 1:54Speaker 3: breakthroughs and so she completely falls apart and she apologizes
- 1:59Speaker 3: and acknowledges that dakota is the problem and dakota is
- 2:02Speaker 3: at this party where all of this really comes to
- 2:05Speaker 3: a head And she tells MomTalk, she's like, I have
- 2:07Speaker 3: to break things off. I have to. And so production
- 2:12Speaker 3: shows us this text that she sends, like, Dakota, we're done.
- 2:16Speaker 3: We're done, we're done, we're done. So I do believe
- 2:20Speaker 3: that she really was trying to do this because of
- 2:22Speaker 3: what Dakota did. So here's what Dakota did. What happens
- 2:26Speaker 3: for the last 15 minutes of the episode is MomTalk
- 2:28Speaker 3: gets together because they want to hear more about how
- 2:31Speaker 3: Taylor broke everything off, how she's doing. They really want
- 2:33Speaker 3: to support her through this. And so I have a
- 2:35Speaker 3: picture of they're all gathered at Jen's house, and Taylor's
- 2:39Speaker 3: supposed to be there. And what Taylor does is she
- 2:42Speaker 3: calls on the phone, and so they hold the phone
- 2:43Speaker 3: on speakers. They can talk to her. So this is
- 2:47Speaker 3: how we find out on the show and what led
- 2:49Speaker 3: up to everything coming out. She tells MomTalk how Dakota
- 2:54Speaker 3: or a friend of Dakota's called CPS on her, and
- 2:57Speaker 3: he told them that Taylor.
- 2:59Speaker 2: Yelled at his kid.
- 2:59Speaker 1: That's Child Protective Services.
- 3:02Speaker 3: Yes, yes. Yelled at their kid while they were in
- 3:04Speaker 3: the car and that she punched herself in the face
- 3:07Speaker 3: to make it look like Dakota hurt her. And she's
- 3:10Speaker 3: telling MomTalk this absolutely did not happen. And while he's
- 3:14Speaker 3: coming at her, she says that he's threatened to release
- 3:18Speaker 3: more information about her. And she does tell them, I
- 3:22Speaker 3: know that he's recorded our fight. She says he would
- 3:24Speaker 3: do this thing where we would fight and he would
- 3:26Speaker 3: start recording. And as we know, this is days before
- 3:31Speaker 3: The Bachelorette comes out. And as we also know, the
- 3:35Speaker 3: 2023 video that led to her probation was released. And
- 3:41Speaker 3: so production says that they're pausing. The Secret Lives of
- 3:45Speaker 3: More Wives, and then we know that The Bachelorette was pulled.
- 3:47Speaker 1: You know what's disgusting about all of this? These people
- 3:50Speaker 1: are making a living doing this.
- 3:52Speaker 2: No, that's not the disgusting thing.
- 3:54Speaker 1: That's really disgusting.
- 3:55Speaker 2: The disgusting thing is they have children involved in this.
- 3:58Speaker 3: And they're making a living.
- 3:59Speaker 2: That's the disgusting thing.
- 4:02Speaker 3: There's a lot of disgusting stuff going here.
- 4:03Speaker 2: They're getting paid more than we are.
- 4:05Speaker 1: Yeah. It's just awful. Awful.
- 4:10Speaker 3: I have a couple thoughts about all of this. One
- 4:13Speaker 3: thing is they were content creators. And then the idea
- 4:18Speaker 3: was like, let's give content creators a show. I do
- 4:21Speaker 3: think this is one of the problems, which is different
- 4:23Speaker 3: from the Housewives, which we'll cover that. This will be
- 4:26Speaker 3: the relief, I promise. But that is the problem, I think, is,
- 4:30Speaker 3: I mean, I don't know. And then the other thing,
- 4:32Speaker 3: I think there's a very real thing here of emotional
- 4:35Speaker 3: abuse going on between Dakota and Taylor. And it was
- 4:39Speaker 3: so hard to watch.
- 4:39Speaker 1: I got done.
- 4:41Speaker 3: I just kept sighing the rest of the day. I'm like, oh.
- 4:44Speaker 1: So you think these people are way more shallow people?
- 4:48Speaker 1: I think that when they got into content creation and
- 4:57Speaker 1: when they got into a show.
- 4:57Speaker 3: Their brains were not fully formed. And they were having kids,
- 5:00Speaker 3: and they're emerging adults, as we say in my world.
- 5:04Speaker 3: And they were thrown into this, and so their brains
- 5:06Speaker 3: are wired completely. I think these are completely different things.
- 5:09Speaker 3: They're wired differently. And it's beyond anything I can even
- 5:13Speaker 3: connect to. So I think there's a lot of problems here.
- 5:16Speaker 3: And it was really hard to watch, and we'll see
- 5:17Speaker 3: what happens. And I do want the best for everybody.
- 5:20Speaker 3: And to Gina's point, too, about the kids, like, this
- 5:22Speaker 3: is also what stinks. But the hard part about this
- 5:24Speaker 3: is people are already doing this kind of stuff. We're
- 5:26Speaker 3: just not watching it on TV.
- 5:28Speaker 2: So make us feel better with the real house.
- 5:30Speaker 1: I'm sorry you're watching. I'm sorry you're watching.
- 5:33Speaker 3: Well, and I'm happy to do the service, so you're welcome.
- 5:36Speaker 3: So let's have a moment and have the housewives. Oh,
- 5:39Speaker 3: my gosh, they're so ridiculous. So the episode is called
- 5:42Speaker 3: Hypocrisy and Bull, and that's how the episode showed up
- 5:46Speaker 3: on Peacock and on the network was the ellipses. Because
- 5:51Speaker 3: we are still in San Francisco on the girls' trip,
- 5:56Speaker 3: and Meredith and Lisa quote-unquote write a diss track.
- 6:00Speaker 2: Oh, no.
- 6:03Speaker 3: And so they're at a party that Bronwyn's throwing and
- 6:06Speaker 3: Bronwyn takes us all the personal attack. They are saying
- 6:08Speaker 3: we did not. This is not personal. I so they
- 6:11Speaker 3: call themselves the glam kittens. So they're at this party
- 6:14Speaker 3: and they pull out microphones and there's a DJ and
- 6:17Speaker 3: they call themselves the glam kittens. Lisa called herself Baby G.
- 6:21Speaker 3: Lisa says no one does Salt-N-Pepa like me. OK, this
- 6:26Speaker 3: is the song. I couldn't send you the audio because
- 6:28Speaker 3: they didn't bleep it out. But they say the whole
- 6:31Speaker 3: BS word. And so I sound exactly how the song sounds.
- 6:36Speaker 3: Hypocrisy and BS, BS. Hypocrisy and BS, BS. Betrayal, manipulation, meow.
- 6:44Speaker 2: That's the song.
- 6:46Speaker 1: Oh, my God.
- 6:48Speaker 3: And then they do it over and over. Hypocrisy and BS, BS.
- 6:52Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 6:55Speaker 3: I already feel better after this. Okay, good, good. It's hilarious.
- 7:03Speaker 3: This is also an interesting trope of housewives doing songs.
- 7:08Speaker 3: This is a long tradition of different franchises, and a
- 7:11Speaker 3: different housewife will get into producing new music. Meredith has
- 7:14Speaker 3: said she's on this DJ, in her DJ era, of
- 7:18Speaker 3: being a DJ, and she posts on her social media
- 7:21Speaker 3: all the time of her DJing these events.
- 7:22Speaker 1: Gotcha.
- 7:25Speaker 2: What's our drinking game?
- 7:27Speaker 3: Oh, our drinking game for both shows is Say Less.
- 7:30Speaker 3: So for The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, you're just
- 7:32Speaker 3: going to open up a bottle and just keep going.
- 7:35Speaker 3: And then for The Housewives... You're going to open up
- 7:39Speaker 3: a bottle and then take a drink. Every time someone
- 7:42Speaker 3: says hypocrisy, and it's throughout the episode, you are going
- 7:44Speaker 3: to black out. So for better or for worse, you're
- 7:46Speaker 3: going to have a great time with hypocrisy and BS.
- 7:50Speaker 2: All right.
- 7:52Speaker 1: Oh, that's a picture of them. I just looked at
- 7:53Speaker 1: the one as the glam kittens. It's just priceless. Well,
- 7:58Speaker 1: thank you, Victoria.
- 7:59Speaker 2: They have shiny microphones.
- 8:01Speaker 3: So shiny. Follow me on Instagram at Judgy Empath. Thanks
- 8:04Speaker 3: so much, guys.
- 8:05Speaker 2: Thank you very much. I hate all the people on
- 8:11Speaker 2: those shows. All right.
