- 0:07[SPEAKER_00]: Jacksonville Jaguar's fans, welcome in to do Walt Daily, presented by GenJag.com.
- 0:10[SPEAKER_00]: I'm Jordan Luger, thanks so much for being here Monday, October 13th, hopefully for the Jaguars and Jaguars fans, I should say.
- 0:18[SPEAKER_00]: The doom and gloom can kind of subside.
- 0:20[SPEAKER_00]: Now that we're about 24 hours, post loss to Seattle, the Jaguars are still foreign to.
- 0:26[SPEAKER_00]: They're still in a great spot.
- 0:28[SPEAKER_00]: They're still coached by a really good coach on both sides of the ball in my opinion.
- 0:32[SPEAKER_00]: They got a lot of good going on.
- 0:33[SPEAKER_00]: So let's try to calm down.
- 0:37[SPEAKER_00]: move forward.
- 0:38[SPEAKER_00]: Yes, we can still talk about what happened against the seahawks and analyze things with what's going wrong with the jack wars and the two losses they've had so far this year, but in both of those losses they were in it at the very end.
- 0:49[SPEAKER_00]: So let's not, um,
- 0:52[SPEAKER_00]: let's not overreact to things.
- 0:54[SPEAKER_00]: But there are some news items that we need to touch on today that have to do with the Jaguar's injury situations.
- 1:02[SPEAKER_00]: Their week seven opponent, their injury situation, the Rams, a division rival firing a head coach.
- 1:11[SPEAKER_00]: We're going to dive into all of that right here.
- 1:13[SPEAKER_00]: right now, really appreciate y'all tuning in.
- 1:16[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe.
- 1:18[SPEAKER_00]: And by the way, if you did not notice, after the last video, I was a follow up.
- 1:23[SPEAKER_00]: Nope, there's nothing wrong with Garvon Dekter.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_00]: He's not injured.
- 1:25[SPEAKER_00]: He's not in the doghouse.
- 1:27[SPEAKER_00]: The, uh, I commented that he hadn't played since week four.
- 1:30[SPEAKER_00]: Well, the bears haven't played since week four.
- 1:32[SPEAKER_00]: That, that, that a by week and week five, and then they have Monday night football tonight.
- 1:35[SPEAKER_00]: So, if I had any, um,
- 1:39[SPEAKER_00]: Any, you know, brain activity going on today, I would have been able to notice that much quicker than I did, but I apologize for that.
- 1:45[SPEAKER_00]: So I do still think, you know, looking at the defensive tackle spot, go back, check that video out if you're interested in some players that I think could make sense for the Jaguars.
- 1:53[SPEAKER_00]: But looking at the news and the updates right here right now, Devon Lloyd has a half injury.
- 2:00[SPEAKER_00]: that is being evaluated by the Jaguars, you know, basically as we speak, or, you know, this afternoon, the Jaguars are flying to London tonight.
- 2:10[SPEAKER_00]: And when asked about this calf injury, head coach, Liam Cohen,
- 2:15[SPEAKER_00]: didn't know yet whether or not Devon Lloyd was going to be flying with the team to London.
- 2:20[SPEAKER_00]: They're going over there early.
- 2:22[SPEAKER_00]: They're trying to get themselves kind of on that London time clock well in advance of the game, whereas the Rams are going to be staying in Baltimore.
- 2:32[SPEAKER_00]: They just played against the Ravens.
- 2:33[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to be staying in the Baltimore area and then flying over the day before the game, I believe.
- 2:38[SPEAKER_00]: So to completely opposite
- 2:41[SPEAKER_00]: kind of strategies.
- 2:42[SPEAKER_00]: Obviously, the Rams have a different situation with being a West Coast team, but they're staying on the East Coast until right before the game, you know, day before the game, I think, and then they're going to approach it that way, whereas the Jaguars, they're getting over there early, they're going to try to use the time for bonding, and you know, kind of the team bonding over the course of the next several days.
- 3:05[SPEAKER_00]: and try to come together and be able to play much more physical and executed at a higher level pre-imposed snap, mental physical issues, all that stuff, try to get past it, but Devon Lloyd, we don't know whether or not he will be there.
- 3:19[SPEAKER_00]: You hope he is, because I mean the guy was the, I absolutely defends a player at the month.
- 3:24[SPEAKER_00]: Really, really important football player for the Jaguars.
- 3:28[SPEAKER_00]: Quentin Morris also has an inductor injury that they're evaluating.
- 3:31[SPEAKER_00]: So don't know what's going to happen with him either.
- 3:34[SPEAKER_00]: He's their third tight end right now with Britain's strange on a hour.
- 3:37[SPEAKER_00]: So you talk about Britain's strange being down.
- 3:39[SPEAKER_00]: If Quentin Morris is also down in the near down to two tight ends on the roster, you know, Hunter long did not have a great game against the sea ox.
- 3:47[SPEAKER_00]: But he can bounce back.
- 3:48[SPEAKER_00]: He's shown the ability to play in this league in Johnny Month as well.
- 3:51[SPEAKER_00]: So would they make a move potentially?
- 3:54[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 3:55[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, you're traveling the London.
- 3:56[SPEAKER_00]: They're going to fly a guy over.
- 3:58[SPEAKER_00]: midweek, I don't know how that would work really, I have no clue, but I do know they do have at least two tight ends of Quint Moore's does go down, or is down.
- 4:09[SPEAKER_00]: That can play.
- 4:10[SPEAKER_00]: If there's an injury at the spot, like I don't know what you, another injury at the spot, I don't know what you do.
- 4:16[SPEAKER_00]: That remains to be seen.
- 4:17[SPEAKER_00]: Devon Lloyd,
- 4:20[SPEAKER_00]: The calf injury, if he is down for this week, the good news is the Jaguar is have the buy ride after, so there's some time to potentially get ready.
- 4:29[SPEAKER_00]: Hopefully, it wouldn't be like an IR situation or like a month-long calf.
- 4:34[SPEAKER_00]: We've seen a lot of calf injuries that can kind of linger.
- 4:37[SPEAKER_00]: So you don't know yet, there's just no update yet on that.
- 4:41[SPEAKER_00]: And then, if he is down, Ventral Miller came in and played well, and we've seen him play well.
- 4:50[SPEAKER_00]: to play pretty good ball in this system like I think that he can do some of the things Devon Lloyd was doing like he can definitely play the run defense, he can definitely attack as a blitzer.
- 5:01[SPEAKER_00]: I don't think he has the same amount of like length or necessarily.
- 5:06[SPEAKER_00]: just physical ability and coverage size, but he can do some things for you in place in decent ball.
- 5:12[SPEAKER_00]: So that is one position that Jaguar has some depth that real good experience depth that in my opinion, in ventral Miller.
- 5:20[SPEAKER_00]: I think he's a good player.
- 5:21[SPEAKER_00]: So want Devon Lloyd back obviously, but they do have a decent situation there.
- 5:26[SPEAKER_00]: Puka Nakua.
- 5:28[SPEAKER_00]: He has an ankle injury in according to NFL network.
- 5:32[SPEAKER_00]: He is not likely to play.
- 5:34[SPEAKER_00]: It's likely to keep him out for some time against the jag wars on Sunday.
- 5:38[SPEAKER_00]: He's unlikely to play, so that's big, real big.
- 5:42[SPEAKER_00]: No Pook and Akua to deal with.
- 5:46[SPEAKER_00]: The Jagua is a struggle deal with Starrer Severs and the Rams, Pook and Akua.
- 5:52[SPEAKER_00]: He is a different sort of star receiver, and some of the other guys that they have faced so far.
- 5:59[SPEAKER_00]: Big physical, violent football player, but not having him would be a real loss for the,
- 6:12[SPEAKER_00]: Rams offense now they do still have to vante Adams and a lot of other guys who can step up you know like Jordan Whittington he can step up and do some of those things and and they've got their young tight-end parents Ferguson who can step up and do some things and Tyler like
- 6:29[SPEAKER_00]: They're not going to be like, whoa is me.
- 6:32[SPEAKER_00]: We don't have Pook and Akuro.
- 6:33[SPEAKER_00]: We can't execute our offense now.
- 6:35[SPEAKER_00]: That's not going to be the case.
- 6:36[SPEAKER_00]: And that wasn't the case for the Seahawks defense this past week.
- 6:40[SPEAKER_00]: Without three of their best defensive backs, they said, well, that's all right.
- 6:46[SPEAKER_00]: We don't need our best defensive backs, because our defense of France is going to kick your ass.
- 6:49[SPEAKER_00]: All game.
- 6:50[SPEAKER_00]: That's exactly what they did.
- 6:52[SPEAKER_00]: So,
- 6:54[SPEAKER_00]: not having puking a kuhua would be huge for the game plan it would be huge for the jack wars just not facing the most productive receiver in football right now.
- 7:07[SPEAKER_00]: But it would not be some guarantee of winning at all by any stretch of the imagination.
- 7:14[SPEAKER_00]: Nakua is a great player.
- 7:16[SPEAKER_00]: He is the driver of their offense right now, but they can get things done without him.
- 7:22[SPEAKER_00]: I can promise you that.
- 7:23[SPEAKER_00]: And Murray's getting excited about thinking about Pook and Nakua not playing, but Pooka is just unbelievable player.
- 7:33[SPEAKER_00]: And without him,
- 7:35[SPEAKER_00]: They would have to adjust their plan a lot because he's leading the NFL and receiving all that stuff.
- 7:42[SPEAKER_00]: He lines up 40% in the slot, so again, more in the slot than some of the other stars that they have faced so far this year.
- 7:56[SPEAKER_00]: He's not the same type of player as a Jackson Smith in Jigbo, who has a little bit of physicality, but he's much more of a route runner.
- 8:04[SPEAKER_00]: Jackson Smith in Jigbo is just unbelievable, fee and quickness and agility, whereas Puka is more of a monster type of receiver.
- 8:14[SPEAKER_00]: But it certainly appears he's not going to be playing in this game.
- 8:19[SPEAKER_00]: That's, that's bigness, that absolutely is.
- 8:23[SPEAKER_00]: Final piece of news moving on from the injuries is the Titans have fired head coach Brian Callahan and the cycle just continues.
- 8:33[SPEAKER_00]: This is a franchise that I can't even, it's been a while.
- 8:46[SPEAKER_00]: then you fire the head coach, then you fire the gym, then you fire the head coach.
- 8:50[SPEAKER_00]: And it's none of it's together.
- 8:52[SPEAKER_00]: None of it is aligned.
- 8:54[SPEAKER_00]: There has not been alignment in that organization from the general manager spot to the head coach spot in a long time and the cycle continues.
- 9:04[SPEAKER_00]: That's gotta be, I mean, I know it's frustrating because I've seen it in Jacksonville before.
- 9:09[SPEAKER_00]: You now have alignment in Jacksonville for the first time since
- 9:16[SPEAKER_00]: I guess 2017 there was some sort of alignment, although Dave Coltwell was still the GM, but Tom Coltwell was kind of run on the show at that point and Doug Marone was his guy.
- 9:27[SPEAKER_00]: So I mean, there was some alignment there, but it was still weird because Dave Coltwell was still in the mix.
- 9:31[SPEAKER_00]: So it's like, yeah.
- 9:36[SPEAKER_00]: very thankful to have alignment in Jacksonville between, you know, two really brilliant and very, and also, you know, Tony Bicelli, but, you know, brilliant GM and my opinion head coach is fantastic.
- 9:49[SPEAKER_00]: I think that those two guys are real bright and communicate effectively, have very, you know, similar visions for what they want and, you know,
- 10:00[SPEAKER_00]: Feel for the Titans, especially with Mike Vrable coming to town with his new shiny quarterback Drake May.
- 10:08[SPEAKER_00]: How poetic is that.
- 10:10[SPEAKER_00]: But hey, does this make the Titans more likely to potentially trade a defensive tackle superstar due to vision rival?
- 10:19[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 10:21[SPEAKER_00]: Mike Morgan's is running the show over there in Tennessee, as the general manager, he didn't draft every sentence.
- 10:30[SPEAKER_00]: Now, if I was him, and I was trying to build a consistent winner, you know, Jeffrey Simmons would be who I'm trying to build around, well, who knows?
- 10:45[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he's seeing how Chris Jones can impact a defense.
- 10:48[SPEAKER_00]: I think Jeffrey Simmons is playing damn good football right now.
- 10:52[SPEAKER_00]: But, you know, maybe the Jack could try to swing and division trade.
- 10:56[SPEAKER_00]: They've made a couple in inter division trades already.
- 11:02[SPEAKER_00]: Maybe they could do it again.
- 11:04[SPEAKER_00]: I don't know.
- 11:05[SPEAKER_00]: But you've also got, I mean,
- 11:08[SPEAKER_00]: I know this sounds crazy, but the Jags walker little ain't been playing great, maybe there's some tackles they could look at, I mean, I don't know.
- 11:16[SPEAKER_00]: Did Mike Wargansy draft Jacy Latham?
- 11:21[SPEAKER_00]: How's Jacy Latham playing?
- 11:22[SPEAKER_00]: I haven't watched the Titans this year a whole lot to know.
- 11:26[SPEAKER_00]: Let's check out what does PFF say about Jacy Latham?
- 11:30[SPEAKER_00]: hasn't played much and hasn't played well.
- 11:32[SPEAKER_00]: So I don't know.
- 11:35[SPEAKER_00]: Um, they also signed Dan Moore Jr.
- 11:37[SPEAKER_00]: this off season.
- 11:38[SPEAKER_00]: Look, I don't know how the Jaguar is feeling about Walker little.
- 11:44[SPEAKER_00]: He's been up and down.
- 11:47[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he's had three good games and three bad games so far this year.
- 11:50[SPEAKER_00]: Two of the three bad games he's lost or they have lost.
- 11:53[SPEAKER_00]: I say he's lost.
- 11:54[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, he's been a big part of the reason they
- 11:59[SPEAKER_00]: against the seahawks by far the worst jaguar's offence of Lyman, he was getting beat up by everybody.
- 12:06[SPEAKER_00]: And then a church is against Triandrics and in the Bengals really bad against the Texans as well.
- 12:13[SPEAKER_00]: But fortunately against the Texans, the rest of the offensive line was getting the job done.
- 12:20[SPEAKER_00]: And the offense, you know, it was still not a high scoring
- 12:28[SPEAKER_00]: the rest of the offensive line did well, and that one too for the most part, but you just had an insane amount of drops.
- 12:37[SPEAKER_00]: But yeah, two of the three games where Walker little has struggled the jaguars have lost.
- 12:43[SPEAKER_00]: When he's been good, they've been good.
- 12:47[SPEAKER_00]: Left tackles a pretty important position.
- 12:50[SPEAKER_00]: They need him to shape up in a big, big way.
- 12:56[SPEAKER_00]: And this upcoming week,
- 12:59[SPEAKER_00]: check the Rams' depth chart, who do they have at edge?
- 13:03[SPEAKER_00]: Somebody who, the Jaguar's current general manager, pounded the table for.
- 13:12[SPEAKER_00]: Yeah, Jared Vers, Braden Vizk, could we turn her by her young?
- 13:17[SPEAKER_00]: Just size Stewart, I thought the Jaguars would love just size Stewart.
- 13:22[SPEAKER_00]: They probably did like him, but he didn't have gone in the third round of the Rams.
- 13:27[SPEAKER_00]: It ain't, it's not getting any easier.
- 13:29[SPEAKER_00]: I mean, maybe the, the Seahawks are probably more physically violent, defensive front, overall, but I think, you know, Jared verse can bring as much violence as anyone.
- 13:44[SPEAKER_00]: He's not, he's an edge as compared to, you know, fire and Murphy and Leonard Williams, those guys are just monsters in the middle.
- 13:56[SPEAKER_00]: That offensive line, as a whole, was really bad.
- 13:59[SPEAKER_00]: Like I shouldn't just put that one against the seawks on Walker little because that offensive line struggled.
- 14:05[SPEAKER_00]: The whole thing did with the physicality and the stunts and the games up front.
- 14:09[SPEAKER_00]: So they've got to get it together big time against the Rams, or they're gonna be sitting at 4 and 3.
- 14:15[SPEAKER_00]: Which, you know, is not a position that you can't work with, but you don't wanna lose two straight going into the buy.
- 14:23[SPEAKER_00]: That's a sour taste in your mouth.
- 14:26[SPEAKER_00]: That'll do it for this one, just some updates and some thoughts.
- 14:29[SPEAKER_00]: I really appreciate y'all tuning in.
- 14:30[SPEAKER_00]: If you enjoy the content, please like and subscribe, y'all have good one.
