- 0:00Speaker 1: Welcome. It is Vertical Center, Ted Cruz, Ben Ferguson with you.
- 0:03Speaker 1: It's so nice to have you with us wherever you
- 0:04Speaker 1: are around the country, listening on radio stations. Also, a reminder,
- 0:08Speaker 1: if you're listening on radio, we do the show as
- 0:10Speaker 1: a podcast three days a week, so make sure you
- 0:12Speaker 1: download Vertical Tech Cruise wherever you get your podcast. Senator,
- 0:15Speaker 1: we've got a lot to talk about. in this show
- 0:18Speaker 1: that we're doing right now. And also, you joined a
- 0:22Speaker 1: very fun club this week as well. I'll tease that
- 0:25Speaker 1: up more in a moment, but we've got a lot
- 0:27Speaker 1: to chat about and what's happening ahead of these midterms.
- 0:30Speaker 2: Well, that's right. This week, the world remembered and mourned
- 0:35Speaker 2: the third anniversary of the October 7th massacre, one of
- 0:40Speaker 2: the most horrific terror attacks the world has ever seen.
- 0:44Speaker 2: And while people across the globe were grieving, the rising
- 0:49Speaker 2: Islamists who were taking over the Democrat Party were not. Instead,
- 0:54Speaker 2: Zoran Mondavi, Abdul Al-Sayed, were, if anything, cheering on the
- 1:02Speaker 2: terrorists and the murderers. Mondavi's statement that he put out
- 1:07Speaker 2: was shameful. We're going to break it down for you.
- 1:11Speaker 2: And Al-Sayed simply refused to acknowledge that anything had happened
- 1:15Speaker 2: at all. It underscores the radicalism that is taking over
- 1:23Speaker 2: today's Democrat Party, and it underscores the threat our nation
- 1:27Speaker 2: faces in this upcoming election.
- 1:29Speaker 1: Yeah, we're going to talk about that and dive into
- 1:32Speaker 1: a lot of the details in just a moment. But
- 1:34Speaker 1: before we get to that, I do want to talk
- 1:35Speaker 1: to you real quick about Compassion International. And I got
- 1:39Speaker 1: to tell you, this is one of the coolest organizations
- 1:42Speaker 1: I've ever worked with personally. Right now, somewhere in the world,
- 1:46Speaker 1: there's a child that's waiting, not waiting for a birthday,
- 1:48Speaker 1: not waiting for Christmas, waiting for someone to choose them.
- 1:52Speaker 1: And that's what Compassion International does every single day. They
- 1:55Speaker 1: connect children living in poverty, extreme poverty, with someone who
- 1:59Speaker 1: will know their name, who will pray for them, who
- 2:02Speaker 1: will encourage them and help provide the food, the medical care,
- 2:06Speaker 1: the education, and the hope they need through a local church.
- 2:10Speaker 1: That's key, through a local church. Now, this year, Compassion
- 2:13Speaker 1: is expanding into four new countries that are in desperate need. Malawi, Zambia, Cambodia,
- 2:19Speaker 1: and Myanmar, meaning there are thousands of children that are
- 2:22Speaker 1: being reached for the very first time ever. Now, I
- 2:25Speaker 1: want you to do what I do, and for just
- 2:28Speaker 1: $ 43 a month, you can be the reason one child
- 2:31Speaker 1: stops waiting. You can sponsor a child today at Compassion.com.
- 2:36Speaker 1: That's Compassion.com. It's a great moment for your family, whether
- 2:40Speaker 1: it's for your children to learn about helping others or
- 2:42Speaker 1: your grandchildren, and use that as part of this tool.
- 2:45Speaker 1: So again, sponsor child today at Compassion.com. That's Compassion.com. All right, Senator,
- 2:51Speaker 1: I want to start with something that really raised a
- 2:53Speaker 1: lot of eyebrows, and that was Mondami's statement that he
- 2:56Speaker 1: made on the third anniversary of the horrific October 7th attacks.
- 3:01Speaker 1: And there were a lot of people that were taken
- 3:02Speaker 1: aback by what he said, because it wasn't just a
- 3:05Speaker 1: day where he stood in solidarity for those that were
- 3:08Speaker 1: brutally murdered and kidnapped and raped. He also threw out
- 3:12Speaker 1: that there was, in essence, genocide that happened on the
- 3:15Speaker 1: other side, going after the terrorists in the West Bank,
- 3:20Speaker 1: as he described it, in Gaza. That was the part
- 3:22Speaker 1: that I think shocked so many.
- 3:24Speaker 2: Well, Mondami's statement was truly shameful, and it was released
- 3:28Speaker 2: as an official public statement from the office of the mayor,
- 3:30Speaker 2: and so I'm going to read you what exactly he
- 3:32Speaker 2: put out.
- 3:34Speaker 1: Today.
- 3:35Speaker 2: Mayor Zoran Kwame Mandami, by the way, I didn't know
- 3:38Speaker 2: his middle name was Kwame, but they put it out
- 3:40Speaker 2: every time they refer to him, they refer to him
- 3:42Speaker 2: as Mayor Zoran Kwame Mandami, released the following statement on
- 3:46Speaker 2: the third anniversary of the October 7th attacks. Quote, this
- 3:52Speaker 2: day is profoundly painful for so many New Yorkers. It
- 3:55Speaker 2: marks three years since the horrific war crimes of October 7th.
- 3:59Speaker 2: On that day, Hamas killed more than 1,100 Israelis, and
- 4:04Speaker 2: abducted 251 others. We grieve alongside our many friends and
- 4:09Speaker 2: neighbors who still carry that unthinkable loss. Now, Ben, frankly,
- 4:14Speaker 2: if the statement had ended there, it would have been fine.
- 4:17Speaker 2: Not terrific, but fine. He at least acknowledged that more
- 4:21Speaker 2: than 1,100 Israelis were killed, that that More than 200
- 4:24Speaker 2: were abducted. He did not acknowledge that women and girls
- 4:28Speaker 2: were raped. He did not acknowledge that dozens of Americans
- 4:31Speaker 2: were murdered and dozens more were kidnapped. He somehow left
- 4:34Speaker 2: the Americans victims of that atrocity out of his statement.
- 4:37Speaker 2: But if it had ended there, it would have been acceptable.
- 4:44Speaker 2: But it didn't end there. Then what Mondami really thought continues.
- 4:48Speaker 2: I'm going to return to the statement. Quote, the suffering
- 4:52Speaker 2: did not begin nor end that day. It instead continued
- 4:55Speaker 2: through the Israeli government's devastating, ongoing genocide in Gaza, in
- 5:01Speaker 2: which it has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians, including more
- 5:06Speaker 2: than 21,000 children. Even since the so-called ceasefire, more than
- 5:12Speaker 2: 1,400 Palestinians have been killed. That suffering has intensified with
- 5:16Speaker 2: every Israeli bomb dropped on ambulances waiting outside hospitals, every
- 5:21Speaker 2: drone strike targeting a residential building or journalist, and every
- 5:25Speaker 2: shipment of food aid turned away at the border crossing.
- 5:29Speaker 2: Many New Yorkers are reckoning with this unbearable grief and
- 5:32Speaker 2: we mourn alongside them, all while knowing that our tax
- 5:36Speaker 2: dollars fund these war crimes. Three years later, we must
- 5:41Speaker 2: refuse to accept a world in which occupation and apartheid continue,
- 5:46Speaker 2: where war crimes are met with impunity, and our federal
- 5:49Speaker 2: government continues its complicity with every arms shipment. To honor
- 5:54Speaker 2: the dead, we must fight for a world in which
- 5:57Speaker 2: every person can live with freedom, safety, and dignity. And
- 6:01Speaker 2: let me say, this man is a vicious, America-hating, propagandist liar.
- 6:08Speaker 2: Understand that virtually every word that he said in the
- 6:12Speaker 2: remainder of the statement, and three-fourths of his statement, on
- 6:16Speaker 2: October 7th, is blasting Israel and the Jews. Almost every
- 6:20Speaker 2: word of it is a lie. Number one, the death
- 6:22Speaker 2: tolls that he puts out are simply recycled from Hamas's propaganda,
- 6:26Speaker 2: which he accepts with no hesitation at all. His claim
- 6:30Speaker 2: that there is a genocide in Gaza is an utter
- 6:33Speaker 2: and complete lie.
- 6:35Speaker 3: It is false.
- 6:36Speaker 2: There is not a genocide. That is not happening. And
- 6:39Speaker 2: in fact, the Palestinian population continues to grow and grow
- 6:42Speaker 2: and grow in Gaza and in the West Bank. genocides
- 6:47Speaker 2: do not result in populations growing dramatically. Who is it
- 6:50Speaker 2: that wants to do a genocide? It is Hamas. When
- 6:53Speaker 2: they chant, from the river to the sea, what they
- 6:57Speaker 2: mean is from the Jordan River to the sea, they
- 6:59Speaker 2: want to eradicate Israel and kill every Jew in Israel.
- 7:04Speaker 2: It is Hamas who is advocating a genocide. It is
- 7:06Speaker 2: not Israel. Mondami's statement talks about every drone strike targeting
- 7:13Speaker 2: a residential building. By the way, they are focused on,
- 7:17Speaker 2: among others, taking out Nasrallah, the head of Hezbollah, which
- 7:21Speaker 2: that is how they took him out. And Mondami was
- 7:24Speaker 2: mourning that an America-hating, bigoted terrorist was taken out by
- 7:30Speaker 2: the Israeli military in a defensive attack. This statement, you know, look,
- 7:36Speaker 2: it's one thing if he wants to put out his
- 7:38Speaker 2: vicious attack of Israel. Comrade Mondami, we get it.
- 7:42Speaker 1: You hate Israel.
- 7:43Speaker 2: You hate Jews. You also hate Americans and Christians, but
- 7:47Speaker 2: we get that. That's no surprise. But to do it
- 7:50Speaker 2: on October 7th is grotesque. October 7th was the single
- 7:55Speaker 2: worst one-day massacre of Jews since the Holocaust. Did Mondami
- 8:03Speaker 2: acknowledge the rapes?
- 8:05Speaker 3: No.
- 8:06Speaker 2: By the way, rapes on October 7th, which to be clear,
- 8:09Speaker 2: Hamas was so proud of that they videotaped and put out.
- 8:12Speaker 2: They didn't hide them. I've watched video of Hamas terrorists
- 8:17Speaker 2: carving the breasts off of women, playing soccer with the
- 8:21Speaker 2: heads of Jews they murdered. And by the way, murdered
- 8:25Speaker 2: Americans as well. And Mondami takes that anniversary to instead say,
- 8:31Speaker 2: I mourn for the Hamas terrorists who lost their life.
- 8:34Speaker 2: It was disgraceful. And it's who Mondani is.
- 8:38Speaker 1: Senator, I want to go back into what we were
- 8:40Speaker 1: talking about with Mondani. And we were talking about not
- 8:43Speaker 1: only his statement, but then his actions in New York
- 8:46Speaker 1: and the crowds as well. They had a reaction to
- 8:50Speaker 1: Mondani and the anti-Israel protesters as well. Mondani's hands are red.
- 8:55Speaker 1: That's what they chanted.
- 8:57Speaker 2: Well, Mondami's statement was shameful. On the anniversary of October 7th,
- 9:02Speaker 2: he attacked Israel. He accused them falsely of genocide. Three-fourths
- 9:07Speaker 2: of his statement was simply blasting Israel and blasting America,
- 9:11Speaker 2: to be clear, for supporting Israel. And yet, nonetheless, his
- 9:15Speaker 2: radical base, that wasn't enough. Give a listen to this
- 9:19Speaker 2: coverage of Mondami's behavior on Fox News. Give a listen.
- 9:24Speaker 3: The mayor of New York, Mandami, has just finished answering
- 9:27Speaker 3: questions about his response to the October 7th events, and
- 9:31Speaker 3: he took the opportunity to double down on his suggestion
- 9:35Speaker 3: that Israel is a genocidal state. He used that word again, genocide.
- 9:41Speaker 3: He insisted on doing that. Well, last night, Mandami was
- 9:46Speaker 3: booed at a vigil, an October 7th vigil. Alexis McCallum
- 9:50Speaker 3: joins me now. Tell me all about it, please, Alexis.
- 9:52Speaker 4: Well, it's interesting to see New York City's mayor under
- 9:54Speaker 4: fire now from both sides, including people who went to
- 9:57Speaker 4: bat for him to get him elected just last year.
- 9:59Speaker 4: He's now accused. of not being anti-Israel enough, while fellow
- 10:02Speaker 4: Democrats say, Mamdani, you've gone way too far. So on
- 10:05Speaker 4: the third anniversary of the October 7th Hamas massacre, Mamdani
- 10:09Speaker 4: is accusing Israel of genocide, saying in part, many New
- 10:12Speaker 4: Yorkers are reckoning with this unbearable grief and we mourn
- 10:15Speaker 4: alongside them. all while knowing that our tax dollars fund
- 10:19Speaker 4: these war crimes. He had to get a little dig
- 10:21Speaker 4: there at the end. Even though Mamdani is called for
- 10:24Speaker 4: the arrest of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, it's really
- 10:27Speaker 4: just not good enough for some of these pro-Palestinian protesters
- 10:30Speaker 4: who showed up at a peace vigil and confronted the mayor.
- 10:34Speaker 4: You can see people yelling and fighting here. We see
- 10:36Speaker 4: this in New York often, but usually Mamdani is not
- 10:39Speaker 4: being yelled at, too. He was holding a candle stew
- 10:42Speaker 4: surrounded by Jewish New Yorkers when he got called out.
- 10:44Speaker 2: Watch.
- 10:56Speaker 4: Hamas chants and Hamas flags in New York City again.
- 11:01Speaker 4: And some of those activists helped the Democratic Socialists win
- 11:04Speaker 4: the mayor's election last year, now accusing him of turning
- 11:07Speaker 4: his back on the Palestinian people, calling him a traitor.
- 11:11Speaker 1: I want to.
- 11:19Speaker 4: End with a message for Zoran Mamdani.
- 11:22Speaker 1: You have a chance to stand with the people of Palestine.
- 11:26Speaker 3: Do not leave behind the cause that you campaigned on.
- 11:31Speaker 4: And Mamdani was asked about this just a short time ago.
- 11:34Speaker 4: He doubled down on calling it a genocide, as you said,
- 11:37Speaker 4: and says he's not bothered by the protests.
- 11:39Speaker 2: Watch.
- 11:40Speaker 5: And when we're speaking of that genocide, we're speaking of
- 11:43Speaker 5: one that has killed more than 74,000 Palestinians in the
- 11:46Speaker 5: last three years. As for those protesting me, I am
- 11:50Speaker 5: the mayor of New York City, and this is what
- 11:52Speaker 5: I signed up for.
- 11:53Speaker 4: The mayor of New York City and also the mayor
- 11:56Speaker 4: of a city that has the largest Jewish population outside
- 11:58Speaker 4: of Israel. Ahead of the midterms, this exposes a big
- 12:01Speaker 4: divide in the Democratic Party about Israel. Even one of
- 12:04Speaker 4: the harshest critics, Mamdani, is just not accused, accused now
- 12:07Speaker 4: of not going far enough. So how do you win?
- 12:09Speaker 4: I don't think you can win.
- 12:11Speaker 1: Senator, you listen to that, and he really likes using
- 12:14Speaker 1: this word, accusing Israel over and over and over again.
- 12:18Speaker 1: The people, by the way, that were attacked on October
- 12:21Speaker 1: 7th and were massacred on October 7th and are surrounded
- 12:24Speaker 1: by terrorists all around them and people that chant from
- 12:27Speaker 1: the river to the sea. And he says, no, no, no,
- 12:30Speaker 1: you should hate the Jewish people. They're the ones committing genocide.
- 12:34Speaker 1: That is a key word he keeps saying.
- 12:37Speaker 2: Well, and you could hear the chanters yelling, long live
- 12:41Speaker 2: Hamas and waving Hamas flags. That is Mondami's base. Those
- 12:46Speaker 2: are the activists who elected Mondami. Those are the people
- 12:50Speaker 2: who put him in power, and that is right now
- 12:52Speaker 2: the base of today's Democrat Party. Understand, Comrade Mondami is,
- 12:57Speaker 2: I believe, the most powerful Democrat in the country. We
- 13:01Speaker 2: are seeing a green-red alliance. We are seeing the Islamists
- 13:05Speaker 2: and the communists coming together and taking over the Democrat Party.
- 13:09Speaker 2: And look, the Islamists and Communists, they don't agree on everything,
- 13:12Speaker 2: but they agree on who they hate. They hate Jews,
- 13:16Speaker 2: and they hate Christians. They hate Israel, and they hate America.
- 13:22Speaker 2: They hate the Constitution. They hate the rule of law.
- 13:25Speaker 2: And at the end of the day, the Islamists and
- 13:28Speaker 2: Communists will turn on each other. Once they have eradicated
- 13:31Speaker 2: the Jews and the Christians, once they have eradicated their enemies, Ultimately,
- 13:35Speaker 2: the Islamists plan to kill the communists too. At the
- 13:38Speaker 2: end of the day, they intend to prevail, but in
- 13:40Speaker 2: the short term, they'll make common cause with the communists.
- 13:44Speaker 2: And that is their chant, long live Hamas, is revealing.
- 13:49Speaker 2: There are some people who say, oh, no, no, no, no,
- 13:51Speaker 2: they're not supporting terrorism. They're just, they're advocating for a
- 13:54Speaker 2: two-state solution. No, no, they are not. They are saying
- 13:59Speaker 2: long live Hamas. Hamas are terrorists who targeted civilians. They
- 14:03Speaker 2: didn't attack military targets. They went house to house in
- 14:08Speaker 2: Israel on October 7th, murdering civilians for one reason, because
- 14:12Speaker 2: they are Jewish. Kicking in doors, murdering elderly people, murdering children,
- 14:17Speaker 2: murdering infants, raping women and girls. It was the systematic
- 14:23Speaker 2: target of civilians on racist grounds. And by the way,
- 14:26Speaker 2: you know what else Mondami did on October 7th?
- 14:30Speaker 1: What was that?
- 14:33Speaker 2: He went out and ostentatiously had dinner at a New
- 14:37Speaker 2: York City Palestinian restaurant that has an openly genocidal menu.
- 14:44Speaker 2: He ate at a place called Ayat Heinz Hall on
- 14:48Speaker 2: the Upper West Side, and it is a restaurant whose
- 14:53Speaker 2: sister restaurant in Brooklyn has a menu section entitled, quote,
- 14:58Speaker 2: From the River to the Sea. And This restaurant, the
- 15:05Speaker 2: menu for Heinz Hall, features a map of what it
- 15:09Speaker 2: calls Palestine. And that map is the entirety of Israel.
- 15:14Speaker 2: It's not a two-state solution. It is showing what they want,
- 15:17Speaker 2: which is to utterly obliterate Israel, to wipe it from
- 15:20Speaker 2: the map, and to be clear, to murder every Jew
- 15:24Speaker 2: living in Israel so that it is only Hamas Palestinians
- 15:28Speaker 2: who remain. This is what he chose to do, not
- 15:32Speaker 2: on any given day, but on October 7th to make
- 15:35Speaker 2: clear that if given a choice between civilians, children, or
- 15:42Speaker 2: Hamas terrorists who murder civilians and rape children, he stands
- 15:47Speaker 2: with Hamas and his base, no matter how much he
- 15:50Speaker 2: does that, no matter how much he lies, no matter
- 15:52Speaker 2: how much he slanders and attacks Israel and Jews, it's
- 15:57Speaker 2: not enough for the radical base that is taking over
- 16:01Speaker 2: the Democrat Party.
- 16:02Speaker 1: All right, let me pause just for a second. I
- 16:04Speaker 1: want to talk to you about an amazing university. It's
- 16:06Speaker 1: called Regent University. And somewhere along the way, we got
- 16:09Speaker 1: the idea that a serious education and a strong Christian
- 16:13Speaker 1: faith have to live in two different worlds. They don't.
- 16:16Speaker 1: At Regent University, faith isn't an afterthought. It's at the
- 16:20Speaker 1: heart of the education. Students are challenged to think deeply,
- 16:24Speaker 1: pursue excellence, and see their education through a Christian worldview.
- 16:29Speaker 1: And make no mistake, Regent is serious about academics. With
- 16:33Speaker 1: more than 150 areas of study, Regent has earned national
- 16:36Speaker 1: recognition for academic excellence. Because a great education shouldn't just
- 16:41Speaker 1: prepare you to make a living. It should prepare you
- 16:44Speaker 1: to make a difference, to lead with integrity, and use
- 16:48Speaker 1: your God-given talents with purpose. And here's the great part.
- 16:51Speaker 1: You can get the same Regent education online. Learn from
- 16:56Speaker 1: wherever you are on a schedule that works around your
- 16:59Speaker 1: career and family without compromising your education or your faith.
- 17:03Speaker 1: Exceptional academics, flexible online learning, unapologetically Christian. You can learn
- 17:10Speaker 1: more at regent.edu. That's regent.edu. Regent University, Christian leadership to
- 17:17Speaker 1: change the world. Senator, Wednesday was a really important day,
- 17:21Speaker 1: not only for policy, but for this country. It was
- 17:25Speaker 1: something you worked really hard on that has now become
- 17:28Speaker 1: a reality. That would be the Trump accounts. But now
- 17:31Speaker 1: the auto-enrollment aspect of this, which is going to be
- 17:34Speaker 1: just massive for helping so many children have a better life,
- 17:40Speaker 1: a better future with these Trump accounts. And it's a
- 17:43Speaker 1: moment where everyone, by the way, should be celebrating. This
- 17:46Speaker 1: should not be partisan at all.
- 17:48Speaker 2: Well, that's exactly right. Wednesday was a remarkable day. I
- 17:52Speaker 2: spent all day on Wednesday with President Trump. I started
- 17:57Speaker 2: in the Oval Office with the President for a major
- 17:59Speaker 2: policy announcement, and it was a policy announcement on the
- 18:02Speaker 2: Trump accounts. The Trump accounts is legislation that I wrote
- 18:05Speaker 2: that we passed into law last year that will be
- 18:10Speaker 2: one of, if not the single most consequential element of
- 18:13Speaker 2: President Trump's legacy. And this week on Wednesday, the President
- 18:17Speaker 2: announced That the federal government is auto-enrolling every child in
- 18:22Speaker 2: America for the Trump accounts. More than 70 million kids
- 18:25Speaker 2: are having personal investment accounts open for them. This is
- 18:29Speaker 2: a battle that I battled very hard internally within the
- 18:32Speaker 2: administration to make happen. And we celebrated it happening this week.
- 18:37Speaker 2: I want you to listen to, this is from the
- 18:39Speaker 2: Oval Office. I'm standing next to the president, next to
- 18:43Speaker 2: the Resolute Desk. I'm there with senior members of his administration,
- 18:47Speaker 2: including Secretary Scott Besset, the Secretary of the Treasury. I'm
- 18:51Speaker 2: also there with Michael and Susan Dell, who've been extraordinarily generous,
- 18:54Speaker 2: giving $ 6. 25 billion, $ 250 to 25 million kids across this
- 19:00Speaker 2: country for their Trump accounts, a massive charitable gift. also
- 19:04Speaker 2: with Brad Gerstner, the Silicon Valley venture capitalist, whose idea
- 19:07Speaker 2: this was his brainchild. Give a listen to the press
- 19:11Speaker 2: conference we had in the Oval Office. Ted, please.
- 19:16Speaker 4: Mr.
- 19:16Speaker 2: President, congratulations. This is unquestionably going to be one of
- 19:21Speaker 2: the biggest parts of your legacy as president. And on
- 19:25Speaker 2: July 4th, the Trump accounts were launched, our nation's 250th birthday.
- 19:30Speaker 2: It's a big, big deal, and today is a massive
- 19:34Speaker 2: day that your administration is opening a personal investment account
- 19:38Speaker 2: for every single kid in America. Over 70 million kids,
- 19:42Speaker 2: every mom and dad out there, your child now has
- 19:45Speaker 2: a personal investment account the Treasury Department has set up
- 19:48Speaker 2: for you. And that personal investment account, if you have
- 19:51Speaker 2: a newborn baby, $ 1, 000 has already been invested in that
- 19:55Speaker 2: account that goes straight to the stock market. And we
- 19:59Speaker 2: also have incredibly generous philanthropists, Michael and Susan, $ 6. 25 billion
- 20:06Speaker 2: They've given $ 250 to 25 million kids across America. We
- 20:12Speaker 2: have these kids here, 6th and 7th graders. You guys now,
- 20:17Speaker 2: each of you has an investment account. And you're going
- 20:20Speaker 2: to be owners. You guys now own part of Apple.
- 20:23Speaker 2: You own part of Dell Computers. You own part of McDonald's.
- 20:26Speaker 2: Next time you go order a Big Mac, you should
- 20:29Speaker 2: walk in and say, look, I own the place. That
- 20:31Speaker 2: is powerful. And what's amazing is that you start investing.
- 20:36Speaker 2: And if you keep investing, and it grows, and you
- 20:39Speaker 2: leave it in there and keep investing, and your family
- 20:41Speaker 2: keeps investing, as you get older, you will get hundreds
- 20:44Speaker 2: of thousands. And if you keep investing literally millions of
- 20:47Speaker 2: dollars in these accounts, you are owners, which is a big,
- 20:52Speaker 2: big deal. And I'll tell you what's cool. Your administration
- 20:55Speaker 2: designed the app. It's a beautiful app you can download
- 20:59Speaker 2: from the Trump account store. But it makes it really
- 21:02Speaker 2: easy for anyone to contribute to your account. You have
- 21:05Speaker 2: a little QR code that you can send your next
- 21:08Speaker 2: birthday party. You know, your Aunt Susie might get you
- 21:11Speaker 2: an ugly sweater. And you might say to Aunt Susie,
- 21:15Speaker 2: instead of the ugly sweater, how about put 50 bucks
- 21:18Speaker 2: in my Trump account? And you can pull it up
- 21:20Speaker 2: on your phone and look at it and see it growing.
- 21:24Speaker 2: And we are creating a whole new generation of capitalists.
- 21:28Speaker 2: And I want to say your team... Scott and Frank
- 21:31Speaker 2: and Kevin have done an extraordinary job bird-dogging this, and
- 21:35Speaker 2: today is an historic moment of legacy for every.
- 21:39Speaker 3: Kid in America.
- 21:40Speaker 1: Senator, I've got to tell you, not only is it
- 21:42Speaker 1: cool for kids to get to go in the Oval Office,
- 21:45Speaker 1: but to be in the Oval Office with the President
- 21:47Speaker 1: of the United States of America, with these philanthropists, with
- 21:50Speaker 1: you there, you getting to talk to them about these
- 21:52Speaker 1: Trump accounts, and the QR code is another example of
- 21:56Speaker 1: just the brilliance of of using technology to the advantage
- 22:00Speaker 1: for kids in their future. This is really, I think,
- 22:03Speaker 1: a historic day, and it's going to be, I think,
- 22:05Speaker 1: a massive part of not only Donald Trump's legacy, but
- 22:09Speaker 1: to be honest with you, I think it's going to
- 22:10Speaker 1: be a huge part of your legacy as one of
- 22:13Speaker 1: those defining moments in your career in the Senate where
- 22:15Speaker 1: you got something done that can have a massive impact
- 22:17Speaker 1: on so many Americans' lives.
- 22:21Speaker 2: Well, and let me take you behind the scenes, because
- 22:23Speaker 2: one of the things we try to do in Verdict
- 22:25Speaker 2: is not just cover what's in the headlines, but take
- 22:28Speaker 2: you behind the scenes to what's really happening. And this
- 22:32Speaker 2: announcement from the Oval Office was the result of a
- 22:36Speaker 2: more than year-long battle. So if you go back to
- 22:39Speaker 2: last year, we passed the Working Families Tax Cut, the
- 22:43Speaker 2: big reconciliation bill, on July 4th of last year. And
- 22:48Speaker 2: the Trump accounts provision, I wrote, I fought tooth and
- 22:51Speaker 2: nail to get it in. It was a huge battle.
- 22:53Speaker 2: I had to fight with the Senate parliamentarian to get
- 22:55Speaker 2: it in. had to work to build the support to
- 22:58Speaker 2: keep it in. And one of the things that was
- 23:01Speaker 2: a big battle is over this question of auto-enroll. And
- 23:05Speaker 2: there's a massive difference whether someone opts in or opts out.
- 23:09Speaker 2: If you look at things like 401ks at your workplace,
- 23:13Speaker 2: if an employee is required to affirmatively opt in to
- 23:16Speaker 2: participate in the 401k, the retirement savings, you get much,
- 23:20Speaker 2: much lower take-up rates than if you have to opt out,
- 23:24Speaker 2: than if the default is you get the 401k unless
- 23:28Speaker 2: you affirmatively go in and say, I don't want it.
- 23:32Speaker 2: You end up with much smaller opt-in rates than you
- 23:35Speaker 2: do if the default is you're in unless you opt out.
- 23:39Speaker 2: That same thing is true for these Trump accounts. And
- 23:42Speaker 2: so when I was writing it, my vision was always
- 23:45Speaker 2: that these would be automatically created for every kid in America. Well,
- 23:49Speaker 2: the career lawyers at Treasury, the deep state, they did
- 23:52Speaker 2: not want auto enroll. And we were battling back and
- 23:55Speaker 2: forth and back and forth. And fortunately, I had the
- 23:58Speaker 2: support of the Trump White House. And so I wrote
- 24:01Speaker 2: the language specifically to contemplate auto enroll. Well, when it
- 24:05Speaker 2: was signed into law and when it was implemented a
- 24:08Speaker 2: year later on July 4th of this year, Treasury, the
- 24:12Speaker 2: career lawyers, succeeded in stopping auto enroll on July 4th.
- 24:16Speaker 2: So when it launched on July 4th of this year,
- 24:19Speaker 2: We didn't have auto enroll. And so we had, as
- 24:21Speaker 2: of this week, about 7 million Trump accounts that parents
- 24:26Speaker 2: had affirmatively gone and opened Trump accounts for their kids. Now,
- 24:30Speaker 2: 7 million Trump accounts is great. We already have billions
- 24:33Speaker 2: of dollars invested on behalf of those kids in the
- 24:36Speaker 2: stock market. But 7 million is a very different number
- 24:40Speaker 2: from 70 million. There are nationwide just over 70 million
- 24:44Speaker 2: kids under 18 in America. So it's only about 10
- 24:47Speaker 2: percent of kids had opted in and created the accounts.
- 24:51Speaker 2: And so I spent a year just going round and
- 24:54Speaker 2: round with Treasury, battling with Treasury, and the career lawyers
- 24:57Speaker 2: did not want to do it, did not want to
- 24:59Speaker 2: do it. I went to Treasury and had breakfast with
- 25:01Speaker 2: Scott Besant, the Treasury Secretary, and front and center, this
- 25:05Speaker 2: was the main topic, is we need to do auto-enroll.
- 25:07Speaker 2: And auto-enroll matters for several things. One, because everyone participates. Two,
- 25:13Speaker 2: because the thousand dollars, which is for every newborn, there
- 25:17Speaker 2: are about 3.7 million newborns each year, you got to
- 25:20Speaker 2: have an account for that thousand dollars to go in
- 25:22Speaker 2: and to start compounding. And if you wait for people
- 25:25Speaker 2: to opt in, many newborns will never get their thousand dollars.
- 25:29Speaker 2: But not only that, because these accounts can receive charity,
- 25:33Speaker 2: you must have the account to be able to receive
- 25:35Speaker 2: the charity. Michael and Susan Dell giving 25 million kids $ 250. Well,
- 25:40Speaker 2: you know what? There were only 7 million accounts, so
- 25:42Speaker 2: a lot of those 25 million couldn't get their $ 250
- 25:46Speaker 2: because they didn't have an account to put it in.
- 25:48Speaker 2: So it was a huge policy question, and ultimately the
- 25:52Speaker 2: reason we won the policy question is because President Trump
- 25:55Speaker 2: leaned in and said, I want auto-enroll, and so it happened.
- 25:59Speaker 2: And what's amazing is you're now seeing bipartisan support for
- 26:03Speaker 2: Trump accounts. Give a listen to this exchange again in
- 26:06Speaker 2: the Oval Office with President Trump. says that for babies
- 26:10Speaker 2: born in.
- 26:10Speaker 4: 2026, if you make the maximum contribution, the baby could have.
- 26:14Speaker 2: About $ 1. 1 million by the time they're 2028.
- 26:18Speaker 4: You were the ones that got this done for young parents.
- 26:21Speaker 5: What message should that send to young parents as they
- 26:24Speaker 5: head to the ballot box?
- 26:25Speaker 1: Well, very simple.
- 26:26Speaker 2: We love your children. We take care of your children
- 26:28Speaker 2: like no president has ever done, like no people have
- 26:32Speaker 2: ever done. Ted, do you want to address that, please? Look,
- 26:35Speaker 2: this is the future for kids, and it is transformational.
- 26:39Speaker 2: And to give a sense of the broadness of the impact,
- 26:42Speaker 2: a little over a month ago, Gavin Newsom had a
- 26:45Speaker 2: press conference celebrating the Trump accounts. And Gavin Newsom praised you.
- 26:51Speaker 2: Miracles could happen. Brad Gerstner was standing right next to
- 26:54Speaker 2: him when Gavin Newsom said nice things about you and
- 26:56Speaker 2: nice things about me, and lightning did not strike anything.
- 27:00Speaker 2: That's an indication of just how powerful this is. 10, 20,
- 27:04Speaker 2: 30 years ago, the impact for kids, having a stake,
- 27:09Speaker 2: an ownership stake in the future.
- 27:12Speaker 1: And, Mr.
- 27:12Speaker 2: President, you referenced personal investment accounts. This is going to
- 27:16Speaker 2: move all of us towards personal investment accounts and having
- 27:20Speaker 2: a stake in the future. And that is transformational.
- 27:23Speaker 3: We even had Adam Shifty Shift. Have you heard of him?
- 27:27Speaker 2: He said phenomenal things. I said, replay that.
- 27:32Speaker 3: I don't believe it.
- 27:33Speaker 2: But he said incredible things about this.
- 27:35Speaker 5: So that's nice.
- 27:36Speaker 1: All right, I want to just take a moment real
- 27:39Speaker 1: quick and talk about the midterms. Between work, errands, and family,
- 27:43Speaker 1: we're all busy. And with elections around the corner, it
- 27:45Speaker 1: can be hard to find time to vote. Now, waiting
- 27:49Speaker 1: until Election Day is a big risk. A flat tire
- 27:52Speaker 1: or a sick child could mean you miss out on
- 27:55Speaker 1: making your voice heard. That's why I need you to
- 27:58Speaker 1: vote early. And you can go to GOPvotes.org. That's gopvotes.org.
- 28:06Speaker 1: And you can find your polling place and bank your
- 28:09Speaker 1: vote today. Now, if you live in the critical Senate
- 28:12Speaker 1: battleground states of Maine or Ohio, early voting has already
- 28:17Speaker 1: started this week. The radical left has won Democratic primaries
- 28:21Speaker 1: across the country, and their turnout machine is ready to
- 28:24Speaker 1: swarm the polls this fall. That's why you need to
- 28:27Speaker 1: plan to vote, too. President Donald Trump is counting on you.
- 28:31Speaker 1: Our movement is counting on you. I'm counting on you.
- 28:34Speaker 1: So don't wait. Head to GOP votes dot org and
- 28:37Speaker 1: make your plan to vote early today. Paid for by
- 28:40Speaker 1: the S.L.F. PAC, not authorized by any candidate or candidates
- 28:44Speaker 1: committee center. After this incredible day that you had, I
- 28:48Speaker 1: should say morning at the Oval Office. You got to
- 28:52Speaker 1: join a very exclusive club. Rarely do I get to
- 28:56Speaker 1: say you get to join a club that I was
- 28:57Speaker 1: in before you were in it, so I'm going to
- 28:59Speaker 1: take this moment and just, you know, I'm pretty sure
- 29:02Speaker 1: you're in your 50s now, and it only took you
- 29:05Speaker 1: 50-something years to join this very exclusive club. I may
- 29:08Speaker 1: have done it in my early 20s. You got to
- 29:11Speaker 1: go with the president on Marine One to head to
- 29:13Speaker 1: Air Force One to then come to Texas for a
- 29:16Speaker 1: rally that he was doing for Kim Paxton. But before
- 29:19Speaker 1: we get to that, how amazing is Marine One? Well,
- 29:22Speaker 1: it's spectacular.
- 29:23Speaker 2: And after we did this major policy announcement from the
- 29:26Speaker 2: Oval Office, the president had invited me to join him
- 29:30Speaker 2: going down to Texas. And we had a big rally
- 29:32Speaker 2: in San Antonio Wednesday night. And the rally was for
- 29:36Speaker 2: Ken Paxton for the Senate race. And so we left
- 29:39Speaker 2: the Oval. We walked out to the South Lawn of
- 29:41Speaker 2: the White House and went and boarded Marine One. And
- 29:46Speaker 2: I will say I'd never done that before. You're right.
- 29:48Speaker 2: You got to fly on Marine One during the George W.
- 29:51Speaker 2: Bush presidency. And I will have to admit a little
- 29:54Speaker 2: background for our listeners. Ben has been giving me grief
- 29:57Speaker 2: about that for years, has been lording.
- 30:00Speaker 1: It over to me.
- 30:01Speaker 2: And I have to admit, I had helicopter envy. I'm
- 30:06Speaker 2: not going to dispute it. I'd never been on Marine One.
- 30:08Speaker 2: I've been on Air Force One a bunch of times,
- 30:10Speaker 2: but I'd never been on Marine One. Usually you drive
- 30:13Speaker 2: to Andrews Air Force Base if you're riding on Air
- 30:15Speaker 2: Force One and you board the plane and you wait
- 30:17Speaker 2: for the president to come and the president takes Marine
- 30:20Speaker 2: One from the White House. and meet you there. Well,
- 30:23Speaker 2: this time, since I was in the Oval and we
- 30:25Speaker 2: were going straight, he invited me to join him, so
- 30:28Speaker 2: I walked out. And by the way, there are two
- 30:30Speaker 2: things that are new. Number one, this is a new
- 30:31Speaker 2: Marine One. It's not the old one. It's a bigger,
- 30:34Speaker 2: more powerful helicopter, so it was very cool. The inside,
- 30:37Speaker 2: I tweeted out some pictures of the inside, but it's
- 30:40Speaker 2: quite spacious. and it's very fast. It flies over 300
- 30:45Speaker 2: miles an hour, and so it's a very cool helicopter,
- 30:49Speaker 2: and it actually is one of the first flights also
- 30:51Speaker 2: from the new helipad. So President Trump had described how
- 30:54Speaker 2: when the new Marine One is a bigger helicopter with
- 30:57Speaker 2: a lot more power, and it used to land just
- 31:00Speaker 2: on the grass in the South Lawn. We're all familiar
- 31:02Speaker 2: with the images of the President walking out to Marine One,
- 31:04Speaker 2: just walking across the grass, and the problem was the
- 31:08Speaker 2: new helicopter was so powerful that it would rip up
- 31:10Speaker 2: the grass. It was like turning it up and turning
- 31:13Speaker 2: it into mud. And so the president said, well, let's
- 31:15Speaker 2: build a helipad. And he built a really big helipad
- 31:18Speaker 2: with a giant symbol, the presidential seal on it. And
- 31:23Speaker 2: it's really cool. And he also built a walkway. So
- 31:26Speaker 2: it always used to be that the president, and if
- 31:28Speaker 2: he was flying with the first lady, the president and
- 31:29Speaker 2: first lady would walk out over the grass. If it
- 31:32Speaker 2: had rained, if it was bad weather, you'd get mud
- 31:35Speaker 2: all over your shoes. If the first lady was wearing
- 31:37Speaker 2: high heels, she would like get her heels sinking into
- 31:40Speaker 2: the grass. You now have a walkway. So we got
- 31:43Speaker 2: to board Marine One, and it was actually very cool.
- 31:46Speaker 2: The president had Marine One circle around the White House
- 31:49Speaker 2: to show me the ballroom. The ballroom is building, you know,
- 31:52Speaker 2: for a long time they'd been building underground because the
- 31:54Speaker 2: ballroom goes really deep with a lot of security apparatus
- 31:57Speaker 2: down there. And so it had been below ground. It's
- 32:00Speaker 2: now a lot has been done building the new ballroom.
- 32:03Speaker 2: So we did a loop around And then also the
- 32:07Speaker 2: president had the helicopter take a detour. He's building a
- 32:11Speaker 2: new golf course that is going to be an incredible
- 32:14Speaker 2: golf course that is surrounded by water on three sides.
- 32:17Speaker 2: So he had Marine One do a loop around the
- 32:19Speaker 2: golf course, and then we went to Air Force One. Now,
- 32:22Speaker 2: I will say Air Force One is also this is
- 32:25Speaker 2: the first time that I've flown on the new Air
- 32:27Speaker 2: Force One that the president got from the Qataris. I've
- 32:32Speaker 2: said before I'm not particularly keen on the fact that
- 32:35Speaker 2: we got Air Force One from the Qataris. That being said,
- 32:38Speaker 2: it is a ridiculously nice plane. It is a plane
- 32:44Speaker 2: that cost billions of dollars to build. It's a 747,
- 32:48Speaker 2: and it is the most luxurious plane. Trump was saying
- 32:54Speaker 2: he gave me a tour of the whole plane when
- 32:55Speaker 2: we got on board, and it's got three bedrooms on it.
- 32:59Speaker 2: And he was saying it's the most luxurious plane on
- 33:02Speaker 2: the planet, and I believe that, just having seen it.
- 33:05Speaker 2: It looks like a super high-end yacht inside, like it's
- 33:09Speaker 2: just gorgeous woodwork and leather. And his office is a
- 33:14Speaker 2: big office where he's got a very cool desk, and
- 33:17Speaker 2: the old Air Force One— look, the old Air Force One
- 33:20Speaker 2: is amazing, although I will tell you, the first time
- 33:22Speaker 2: I joined Donald Trump on Air Force One was early
- 33:26Speaker 2: in his first term. It was March of 2017. And
- 33:29Speaker 2: I walked onto the plane, and he greeted me, and
- 33:32Speaker 2: I said, nice plane, Mr. President. And he laughed and said, yeah,
- 33:36Speaker 2: my old one was nicer. And my immediate response was, yeah.
- 33:41Speaker 2: But it didn't have missiles on it. which he enjoyed.
- 33:45Speaker 2: You've been on Air Force One as well. It's an
- 33:47Speaker 2: amazing experience. This new one is orders of magnitude nicer.
- 33:51Speaker 2: So we flew to Texas and went to a rally
- 33:54Speaker 2: in San Antonio, and it was in the Coliseum there.
- 33:57Speaker 2: It was about 7,000 people. It was a packed house,
- 34:00Speaker 2: and it was a rally for the election, for the midterms,
- 34:03Speaker 2: and it was supporting all of the candidates running in Texas,
- 34:07Speaker 2: but especially Ken Paxton. We've got a very close competitive
- 34:10Speaker 2: Senate race. It's basically tied. I think we're going to
- 34:13Speaker 2: win in November. I think Ken Paxton is going to
- 34:16Speaker 2: be the next senator from Texas, and I have spent
- 34:19Speaker 2: a ton of time. I've raised millions of dollars for
- 34:22Speaker 2: Ken Paxton. My political apparatus has spent millions of dollars
- 34:26Speaker 2: directly supporting Ken Paxton. But, Ben, this race comes down
- 34:31Speaker 2: entirely to one thing, and that is turnout. The left
- 34:34Speaker 2: is going to show up.
- 34:35Speaker 1: They're mad.
- 34:35Speaker 2: They're angry. They hate Donald Trump. We got to make
- 34:38Speaker 2: sure conservatives show up. We got to make sure the
- 34:41Speaker 2: MAGA base shows up. We got to make sure just
- 34:43Speaker 2: common sense Texans show up. And this is true all
- 34:46Speaker 2: over the country that just common sense Americans show up.
- 34:48Speaker 2: And so I'm really grateful. I joined President Trump last
- 34:51Speaker 2: week at a big event he did in North Texas.
- 34:54Speaker 2: And I joined him this week at a big event
- 34:56Speaker 2: he did in San Antonio. And I'm very thankful that
- 34:59Speaker 2: he's coming to Texas because it's really helpful for rallying
- 35:03Speaker 2: the MAGA base to come out. And he gave a
- 35:06Speaker 2: two hour speech. I don't know how this guy, he's
- 35:09Speaker 2: 80 years old and the energy he's got. Look, I
- 35:12Speaker 2: got to tell you, a bunch of us, two hours
- 35:15Speaker 2: on our feet, our feet were hurting. I was in,
- 35:17Speaker 2: you know, I was wearing black cowboy boots, two hours
- 35:19Speaker 2: on your feet in black cowboy boots and your calves
- 35:22Speaker 2: are throbbing. And Trump at age 80 just didn't pause
- 35:26Speaker 2: at all. He kept going. He was praising Ken Paxton
- 35:29Speaker 2: as the most conservative attorney general in the country, which
- 35:32Speaker 2: I think is accurate. And he lit into James Tallarico
- 35:36Speaker 2: in a way that was just, I mean, the guy
- 35:38Speaker 2: is radical and extreme. And President Trump did a really
- 35:42Speaker 2: good job of detailing his extreme record, whether it's saying
- 35:45Speaker 2: God is non-binary or saying there's six different genders. or
- 35:49Speaker 2: saying that he wants to dismantle capitalism. But he also unloaded.
- 35:54Speaker 2: So James Tallarico has been missing for 12 days from
- 35:56Speaker 2: the campaign trail. He has disappeared. That is weird. We're
- 36:00Speaker 2: less than 30 days away from Election Day, and Tallarico
- 36:02Speaker 2: is just nowhere. He's doing no public events. He has
- 36:05Speaker 2: not been seen in public. Last time he was seen
- 36:07Speaker 2: in public was with Robert De Niro at a fundraiser
- 36:10Speaker 2: in New York two weeks ago. Listen to what Donald
- 36:13Speaker 2: Trump said about Tallarico being absent. I got that right, vegan.
- 36:17Speaker 1: He's a vegan. He wants to eat a piece of lettuce,
- 36:19Speaker 1: a little piece of lettuce, please. But he's been seen.
- 36:23Speaker 2: You know, you haven't seen him in a couple of weeks.
- 36:24Speaker 2: I hear the guy's disappeared.
- 36:25Speaker 1: Nobody knows.
- 36:26Speaker 2: You know where he is? He's sick because.
- 36:29Speaker 3: He's been forced to eat meat for political reasons, and
- 36:32Speaker 3: he's throwing up.
- 36:33Speaker 1: All over the place. He's sick.
- 36:37Speaker 2: So, Ben, I got to say, you've been involved in
- 36:39Speaker 2: politics your whole life. Have you ever seen a candidate
- 36:42Speaker 2: in the closing 30 days of a very closely contested race,
