- 0:02Speaker 1: This is an Unspoiled Network podcast. This is spoil Me,
- 0:09Speaker 1: covering one piece episodes seven fifty one, seven fifty two,
- 0:15Speaker 1: and seven to fifty three curtain up on a new
- 0:18Speaker 1: adventure arriving at the Phantom Island Zoo, the new warlord,
- 0:23Speaker 1: the legendary white Beard Sun appears, and a deadly elephant
- 0:27Speaker 1: climb a great adventure on the back of the giant elephant.
- 0:34Speaker 1: In these episodes, this is a really weird start to things,
- 0:40Speaker 1: you guys. I feel like this might be the strangest
- 0:44Speaker 1: opening of a new arc. And I mean we've done
- 0:48Speaker 1: some weird shit. We have done weird stuff, man, but
- 0:53Speaker 1: overall the this is well, we'll see. Welcome to spoil Me,
- 1:21Speaker 1: Welcome to the show everyone. I am Natasha. Thank you
- 1:24Speaker 1: very much to Florian for commissioning this episode. You guys,
- 1:32Speaker 1: I am so weirded out by so many things in
- 1:38Speaker 1: these episodes, and like in a way that I'm enjoying.
- 1:42Speaker 2: I just want to make it clear.
- 1:44Speaker 1: It's not like, ill, what is this? I don't want
- 1:45Speaker 1: to watch this.
- 1:46Speaker 2: It's just like, oh my god, what is this?
- 1:49Speaker 1: I need to see what happens next. I was very
- 1:51Speaker 1: very sad when I finished my third episode, because I
- 1:54Speaker 1: was like, no, come on.
- 1:55Speaker 2: Come on, you can't just leave it there.
- 1:58Speaker 1: We've got a fucking free NAMMI. Maybe it seems like
- 2:02Speaker 1: perhaps really I think that this probably spawned a lot
- 2:09Speaker 1: of fan fiction, but you know, that's neither here nor
- 2:14Speaker 1: there for right now. So I'm gonna start talking about
- 2:19Speaker 1: seven fifty one. But Laurian did warn me ahead of
- 2:24Speaker 1: time that pretty much it's just like the second half
- 2:27Speaker 1: of seven fifty one, if that that is important, because
- 2:30Speaker 1: like it's almost all a retelling of the adventures of
- 2:36Speaker 1: the entire straw Hats and how they found each other
- 2:40Speaker 1: from like day one, which I won't say it was
- 2:45Speaker 1: like boring to watch because actually seeing it all very
- 2:48Speaker 1: summarized and concise, I was like, oh, yeah, you know,
- 2:51Speaker 1: I'm enjoying refreshing my memory on a lot of this stuff.
- 2:55Speaker 1: But it is sort of funny the this show is
- 3:00Speaker 1: just so long running that I think you kind of
- 3:03Speaker 1: have to do this sometimes right, just to catch everybody up.
- 3:08Speaker 1: But I am really like, you guys, they have to
- 3:15Speaker 1: say goodbye to Bart's l'omeo, and do you know how
- 3:17Speaker 1: sad I was about it. I just really don't want
- 3:21Speaker 1: him to fall out of the story. I want Bartolomeo
- 3:25Speaker 1: to be around all the time. He's just I just
- 3:29Speaker 1: I really would have expected that by now his bit
- 3:33Speaker 1: would be getting old and I'd be tired of him,
- 3:35Speaker 1: and it has not happened. If anything, I want more.
- 3:40Speaker 1: And I don't know, maybe other people don't feel that way,
- 3:43Speaker 1: but I could definitely take more. If he wants to
- 3:49Speaker 1: hang around outside this island and just sort of see
- 3:51Speaker 1: if the Straw has to meet him again, I wouldn't
- 3:53Speaker 1: be mad. I wouldn't be mad at it. Seraphim says.
- 3:57Speaker 1: The arc slash elephant is pnnounced either zoe with a
- 4:01Speaker 1: long oh or rhyming with chow zau thou or zo huh.
- 4:10Speaker 2: I wonder well.
- 4:11Speaker 1: I think I'm just gonna go with Zoe because that's
- 4:14Speaker 1: the way it looks to me.
- 4:16Speaker 2: But if either, if one of them.
- 4:18Speaker 1: Is like more correct than the other, I will adjust.
- 4:25Speaker 1: So we go to see Kizerou and he asks was
- 4:34Speaker 1: it him as he's clipping his nails nonchalantly, and there's
- 4:38Speaker 1: a marinum reporting to him who says, yes, Edward. Weevil,
- 4:45Speaker 1: which having the last name Weeville really does suck like
- 4:50Speaker 1: weevils are little creatures like I think they're insects that
- 4:54Speaker 1: get into food and ruin it.
- 4:58Speaker 2: So that's not great.
- 5:00Speaker 1: It's like the name cockroach or mealworm or something more.
- 5:05Speaker 1: Pirates who worked under white Beard. Huh, remind me how
- 5:09Speaker 1: many captains has he put down in all? Sixteen? Now, sir,
- 5:15Speaker 1: First they have some sort of disagreement, then he takes
- 5:18Speaker 1: them out along with whatever town they're in. As usual,
- 5:22Speaker 1: he leaves a big mess. In addition to the collateral damage.
- 5:26Speaker 1: The death tolls at about six hundred six hundred, and
- 5:36Speaker 1: Keiseru's like, well, uh, that's too many. Like, we can't
- 5:39Speaker 1: turn a blind eye. We are going to have to
- 5:41Speaker 1: figure out how to handle this, and he says oh. Also,
- 5:45Speaker 1: he claims to be the biological son of Edward Newgate,
- 5:50Speaker 1: though not too many people are buying it. Keiserus says, well,
- 5:56Speaker 1: that doesn't really matter either way. He does have one
- 6:00Speaker 1: valuable trait though, Edward Weeville is a tremendously powerful pirate.
- 6:08Speaker 1: In fact, he's just like white Beard was as a
- 6:12Speaker 1: young man in terms of his physical strength, though that's
- 6:16Speaker 1: all they have in common. We see this guy later. Well,
- 6:29Speaker 1: you know what, I'm gonna wait, We'll wait we'll wait,
- 6:32Speaker 1: we'll get there, Okay. So we go back to the
- 6:34Speaker 1: straw hats. Bartolomeo is very seasick, and it turns out
- 6:43Speaker 1: the whole pirate crew is all seasick. And there's gum
- 6:48Speaker 1: everywhere because he was told by his grandmother that that
- 6:53Speaker 1: helps soothe your stomach when you're nauseous. So they've just
- 6:57Speaker 1: been chewing it and spitting it all over the place.
- 7:01Speaker 1: This is bonkers to me, Like, look, if you've got
- 7:05Speaker 1: to spit your gum out, you're literally on a boat.
- 7:07Speaker 1: Just spit it over the side. Why would you leave
- 7:09Speaker 1: it on your boat? This There was a friend of
- 7:12Speaker 1: mine who had a guest, and their guest was somebody
- 7:16Speaker 1: that I knew that I'm friendly with you guys, while
- 7:23Speaker 1: this person was at their house, i'll call this person Dana.
- 7:29Speaker 1: Dana had a bag of those dumb, dumb lollipops and
- 7:35Speaker 1: Dana proceeded to tear her way through that whole bag
- 7:40Speaker 1: of lollipops and dropped the sticky ended sticks from the
- 7:48Speaker 1: lollipops all over the floor and on the bed, and
- 7:54Speaker 1: like just left them all over my friend's house, just
- 7:59Speaker 1: dropped them wherever she happened to be standing when she
- 8:02Speaker 1: finished it. When I tell you, I my mouth was
- 8:08Speaker 1: hanging open hearing this. What kind of person are like?
- 8:15Speaker 1: Who raised you? I mean, setting aside eating an entire
- 8:21Speaker 1: bag of dumb dumb lollipops, which is already that's a lot.
- 8:25Speaker 2: But then you don't even.
- 8:29Speaker 1: Anyway. I'm looking at you very sideways for this. Bartilomeo
- 8:33Speaker 1: and your entire crew get it together. So this is
- 8:38Speaker 1: when his guy who's omni in the crow's nest is saying,
- 8:42Speaker 1: I see something out there, and I can't tell if
- 8:46Speaker 1: it's an island or if it's a giant creature, but
- 8:49Speaker 1: it seems like it's moving. I love Bartolomeo being like,
- 8:54Speaker 1: do we need to get you a different job, because
- 8:56Speaker 1: like you can't tell if it's an animal or an island,
- 8:59Speaker 1: that feels like you should be able to tell which
- 9:01Speaker 1: one it is. And eventually it's just like, all right, well,
- 9:06Speaker 1: I don't know what to do with this information, Like
- 9:08Speaker 1: this is not very helpful. There's a moment where Zorro
- 9:14Speaker 1: calls uh usop god and oosup is in the midst
- 9:20Speaker 1: of like being fake human.
- 9:25Speaker 2: I keep wanting to.
- 9:25Speaker 1: Say humili fake, humble, that's the word and you see
- 9:30Speaker 1: Frankie like looming behind him because Frankie's jealous of his bounty,
- 9:34Speaker 1: and I did think.
- 9:35Speaker 2: That was very, very funny.
- 9:39Speaker 1: So they are watching the little piece of the beaver
- 9:45Speaker 1: card and it is pointing towards the thing that this
- 9:47Speaker 1: guy saw, so they are going to continue to follow it,
- 9:52Speaker 1: and eventually they reach this thing and it is a
- 9:57Speaker 1: giant elephant. This thing has an entire island on its back,
- 10:08Speaker 1: and it's a wandering island because this elephant just walks
- 10:17Speaker 1: around and it's coordinates change, which means he calls it
- 10:23Speaker 1: a phantom island. But this means that you can't use
- 10:27Speaker 1: a log pose to get to it. And they just
- 10:30Speaker 1: managed to find their way because of the weaver card.
- 10:36Speaker 1: So he says, I'm trying to find the spot where Sorry,
- 10:42Speaker 1: I'm looking at the controls on this Normally I can
- 10:43Speaker 1: just rewind ten seconds, but it's not letting me.
- 10:46Speaker 2: Let's see.
- 10:47Speaker 1: That means Blackfoot group might have gotten here long before
- 10:50Speaker 1: we did because it's walking away from them, so it's
- 10:55Speaker 1: been outpacing them. This island beyond the back of an
- 11:00Speaker 1: elephant is.
- 11:04Speaker 2: I just don't know how I.
- 11:08Speaker 1: Feel about this, Like you know, there's a whole thing
- 11:11Speaker 1: on the back of a turtle, so you could have
- 11:13Speaker 1: gone in that direction and been kind of obvious an
- 11:17Speaker 1: elephant not being a sea creature, but like walking around
- 11:22Speaker 1: the sea, I think it makes me uncomfortable because, like,
- 11:28Speaker 1: if it's a sea turtle, it's in its habitat, it's
- 11:30Speaker 1: doing what it does. It's a turtle, it swims, it's fine.
- 11:34Speaker 1: But an elephant's like supposed to eat leaves and stuff.
- 11:38Speaker 1: What's it eating. This doesn't feel like where it's supposed
- 11:41Speaker 1: to be. And at one point we get a look
- 11:44Speaker 1: at the front of it and it's just got these
- 11:46Speaker 1: hollows where its eyes should be, and it looks very sad,
- 11:51Speaker 1: and overall this combined with our weird dragon friend later,
- 11:56Speaker 1: there were just too many sad animals.
- 11:58Speaker 2: In these episodes for my taste, you know.
- 12:02Speaker 1: So anyway, we get again a moment of Traffy asking
- 12:07Speaker 1: for something for food from Barchilomeo and Bartilomeo telling him
- 12:11Speaker 1: to go screw until Travi says it's for the straw hats,
- 12:15Speaker 1: and then he's immediately like, oh, yeah, take anything you need.
- 12:20Speaker 1: So evidently the island of Zoo is inhabited by a
- 12:30Speaker 1: people called Minks m I n Ks, and they are
- 12:36Speaker 1: not human and human beings have been banned from coming
- 12:42Speaker 1: here this whole time, which I'm assuming that is the
- 12:49Speaker 1: humanoid animal creatures. You know, we shall see what they
- 12:54Speaker 1: are called, but I'm assuming those are the minks. The
- 12:58Speaker 1: episode ends with Louve realizing that this elephant he's looking
- 13:02Speaker 1: at is probably like a thousand years old, and then
- 13:06Speaker 1: we get to the point where the ship pulls up
- 13:10Speaker 1: next to the sunny and Bartolomeo loses his ever loving mind.
- 13:16Speaker 1: He it's like if Rashaan saw in person the in
- 13:26Speaker 1: Paula from Supernatural, you know, even more so, though, Saraphim says,
- 13:36Speaker 1: remember the odd gray, cobblestone like ground from the brief
- 13:40Speaker 1: look at Sanji's group elephant's skin, Oh yeah, all that water.
- 13:48Speaker 1: I wonder if it's the trunk coming back, I guess,
- 13:52Speaker 1: and it dumping its water on itself. The elephant's favorite
- 13:57Speaker 1: food is to reach up and grab apples from sky islands. Hmmm,
- 14:04Speaker 1: it just seems so lonely, like it just seems like,
- 14:08Speaker 1: you know, this isn't much of a life. I don't know,
- 14:14Speaker 1: but thank you for that. Sarah him so barts of
- 14:18Speaker 1: the Mayo. You know, we have we have to deal
- 14:20Speaker 1: with a lot of his fan boying. There's a point
- 14:23Speaker 1: where he's just like telling all of them how much
- 14:26Speaker 1: it's meant to him to help them, and can we
- 14:29Speaker 1: at some point get the rest of your uh your
- 14:35Speaker 1: autographs because we don't have the whole collection. And it
- 14:39Speaker 1: turns out that they're not listening to him at all.
- 14:42Speaker 1: And as they're leaving, Lufy just yells down. He calls
- 14:47Speaker 1: him Lo mio and says like, thanks for your help.
- 14:54Speaker 2: And I was just like, this is so inadequate.
- 14:57Speaker 1: I had been so pleased with Lufy gassing bar to
- 15:00Speaker 1: the Mao up when they were still Ondres Rosa and
- 15:02Speaker 1: being like you fucking killed it, dude, and I really
- 15:05Speaker 1: wanted him to do that here. And he just doesn't
- 15:08Speaker 1: give him the time of day the way that Bartolomeo deserves.
- 15:12Speaker 1: And look, Bartolomeo doesn't even seem upset, So I'm not
- 15:16Speaker 1: trying to say like he heard his feelings or anything,
- 15:19Speaker 1: but I wanted him to be better, that's all.
- 15:25Speaker 2: So the crew is.
- 15:25Speaker 1: Looking at this, uh at the sunny and just trying
- 15:29Speaker 1: to see if there's anything obvious about it. That is wrong,
- 15:32Speaker 1: that could point to the you know, reason that they
- 15:37Speaker 1: have stopped here. It's tethered to the side of this elephant,
- 15:44Speaker 1: so it's just being pulled along, I guess. So yeah,
- 15:49Speaker 1: Loufy climbs aboard, wanders around trying to find anybody, and
- 15:54Speaker 1: there is nobody there. Then we jump over to the
- 15:59Speaker 1: Revolutionary Armies General Headquarters. What's it called Belt Baltigo. Sorry,
- 16:09Speaker 1: the subtitles are covering up the actual title cards, so
- 16:15Speaker 1: it's very hard to read. But anyway, Dragon is here
- 16:22Speaker 1: and he is looking at the report of what's going
- 16:27Speaker 1: on with all of the different groups of pirates now
- 16:29Speaker 1: that Do Flamingo has been taken down, and is like, yeah,
- 16:33Speaker 1: this has had a significant impact on things. Tell the
- 16:37Speaker 1: men not to get too comfortable. The world government won't
- 16:40Speaker 1: have it, and Cipher Pole has been reinforced in recent years.
- 16:44Speaker 1: That's why we need to stay on our guard. And
- 16:48Speaker 1: as we see later, their little hangout has been discovered. Anyway,
- 16:51Speaker 1: so so Kowala comes to report and she says that
- 16:57Speaker 1: there is a weird metal inside the weapons that they stole,
- 17:02Speaker 1: called drunken iron ore and it's really really rare. So
- 17:09Speaker 1: there are only a few places that it can be mined,
- 17:12Speaker 1: and that means that it's possible they will be able
- 17:14Speaker 1: to trace back to where the weapons were made. And
- 17:21Speaker 1: he says, you brought our lost comrades back as well.
- 17:24Speaker 1: You've done some impressive work, and she's very quick to like, oh,
- 17:28Speaker 1: Sabo and Loufy helped me out a lot. Then he says,
- 17:32Speaker 1: any news about Robin. I heard she was in saba Aldi,
- 17:36Speaker 1: but that turned out to.
- 17:37Speaker 2: Not be true.
- 17:39Speaker 1: And I was sort of interested in the fact that
- 17:42Speaker 1: he asked about Robin specifically. I don't remember if there
- 17:47Speaker 1: is a link between them that I'm forgetting guys, but
- 17:50Speaker 1: I I felt like there was a there had to
- 17:55Speaker 1: be a reason that I should know about why he's
- 17:58Speaker 1: asking about our specifically, and I don't recall, So if
- 18:05Speaker 1: there's anything, let me know. So Koala says, well, hold on,
- 18:13Speaker 1: don't you want to know about Loofy? And he says, ugh,
- 18:20Speaker 1: I've already heard enough and she says, oh, Sabo gave
- 18:25Speaker 1: you the full report, then, huh, and he just says, anyway, Dragon,
- 18:40Speaker 1: what the fuck, dude, I'm genuinely asking what, why are
- 18:51Speaker 1: you behaving like this about him? Why don't like I
- 18:57Speaker 1: have been explaining away his lack of involvement in Lufy's
- 19:02Speaker 1: life by saying he's trying to protect him by not
- 19:08Speaker 1: signaling that they're even related to each other, or you know,
- 19:13Speaker 1: like all of this stuff. But then he just like
- 19:15Speaker 1: blurts out that Lufy's his son to a bunch of
- 19:19Speaker 1: people in one of the other episodes, and then this
- 19:22Speaker 1: episode just clearly doesn't want to hear a thing about Loufy,
- 19:26Speaker 1: And I don't understand where his head is at. Why
- 19:32Speaker 1: is he so uninterested in his child? It's making me
- 19:37Speaker 1: judge him. It's bothering me, Like the fact that she asked,
- 19:47Speaker 1: like she assumes that he got the report from Sabo
- 19:49Speaker 1: and he just says, anyway, I just expected. It's clear
- 20:00Speaker 1: he did not get the full report from Garb to me.
- 20:03Speaker 1: The way that he says anyway is evidence that like, no,
- 20:06Speaker 1: he didn't. And I don't understand the thinking here. I'm
- 20:13Speaker 1: really curious, what is I've heard enough? Like he thinks
- 20:18Speaker 1: that it's bad news or something, you know what I mean.
- 20:21Speaker 1: Like it sounds the way he said, it sounds like
- 20:24Speaker 1: I don't want to hear anymore because it's bumming me out.
- 20:30Speaker 1: Why for what reason? Saraphem says she spent the time
- 20:39Speaker 1: skip with them right, very cute. Sarahm. I was like,
- 20:44Speaker 1: I know there's a connection in there. I forgot about
- 20:47Speaker 1: that whole thing. I totally forgot about that. God, it's
- 20:52Speaker 1: wild how completely I forgot about that. That's like crashing
- 20:55Speaker 1: into my brain right now with a force of like
- 20:58Speaker 1: a brand new plowline. Bernadette guests who will not win
- 21:02Speaker 1: Father of the Year anytime soon. Sarah him says Garp
- 21:06Speaker 1: was the one that blurted out the family relations.
- 21:08Speaker 2: No no, no, like.
- 21:09Speaker 1: There's a previous in dress Row. So there's a scene
- 21:12Speaker 1: with Dragon where he just like says, in front of
- 21:15Speaker 1: a bunch of his people, oh yeah, that's my son.
- 21:18Speaker 1: By the way, wasn't it Like I could have sworn
- 21:21Speaker 1: he says it. And that was what like shocked me,
- 21:25Speaker 1: because I was thinking he was keeping it secret, and
- 21:29Speaker 1: then he doesn't bother at all and he says it.
- 21:31Speaker 2: To everybody like it's no big deal.
- 21:34Speaker 1: And it was a moment of like simultaneous I don't
- 21:39Speaker 1: I thought I knew why he wasn't telling and now
- 21:41Speaker 1: apparently I don't. And also it made me feel like,
- 21:45Speaker 1: oh yeah, that's definitely a dude related to Loofy, because
- 21:48Speaker 1: he's just acting like this huge bomb he dropped is
- 21:51Speaker 1: nothing the way that Lufy often does, because yeah, what
- 21:57Speaker 1: the scene I'm thinking of happened very recently and Garp
- 22:00Speaker 1: hasn't been around for a minute anyway.
- 22:05Speaker 2: So let's see.
- 22:06Speaker 1: He says, go summon leaders from the Revolutionary Army from
- 22:11Speaker 1: all around the world, and Koala says it's going to
- 22:15Speaker 1: get pretty intense having all of them together, though, but
- 22:20Speaker 1: he does not answer. And then we go over to
- 22:24Speaker 1: the Blackbeard Pirates. Now this this what do you call it? Emblem?
- 22:35Speaker 1: I really wish I had like a little cipher of
- 22:44Speaker 1: all of the different Jolly rogers around, But yeah, this
- 22:53Speaker 1: might be the one that was like being pointed out
- 22:56Speaker 1: before that I should have recognized several episodes ago, perhaps,
- 23:02Speaker 1: Sarahim says at this point, the relation was made public
- 23:04Speaker 1: during Marine Force, so that was just him confirming it
- 23:07Speaker 1: was true once it was known. No, like, look, Saraphim,
- 23:12Speaker 1: the scene, everybody acted shocked, so they definitely didn't know
- 23:18Speaker 1: in the scene, and that was like the point was
- 23:20Speaker 1: that he just says it like it's no big deal,
- 23:22Speaker 1: and everybody around.
- 23:23Speaker 2: Him is like holy fuck.
- 23:25Speaker 1: So it's definitely I get what you're saying and that
- 23:29Speaker 1: it maybe should be that way, but that's not how
- 23:31Speaker 1: it was played. So let me touch base with Lafitte,
- 23:38Speaker 1: who is getting a call from Burgess. Uh, and he
- 23:44Speaker 1: is what's the.
- 23:46Speaker 2: Word I want here?
- 23:48Speaker 1: He sounds agitated, and Lafitte's like, I went there supposed
- 23:53Speaker 1: to get you and you weren't there. And Burgess is like, yeah, sorry,
- 23:58Speaker 1: I got fucked up and I wasn't able to contact you.
- 24:04Speaker 1: And Lafite it's like, okay, so where are you? Where
- 24:08Speaker 1: should we go? And he says it's an island where
- 24:11Speaker 1: everything is bright white. I'm stowed away. I snuck down
- 24:16Speaker 1: into the bottom of a ship. The tell teach something
- 24:21Speaker 1: for me. If we invade this place, we'll be up
- 24:24Speaker 1: to our eyeballs in free weapons, and make sure to
- 24:30Speaker 1: send doc Q. I'm at death's doorstep over here, and
- 24:36Speaker 1: Lafite is like, can you just fucking tell me where
- 24:39Speaker 1: you are? And he says, I don't know like the
- 24:43Speaker 1: directions to it, but follow my viaver card and Dragon
- 24:48Speaker 1: is here. So, Sabbo, this is the headquarters of the
- 24:56Speaker 1: Revolutionary Army. I am very, very annoyed that Burgess is
- 25:03Speaker 1: here causing trouble. I don't like him, I don't ah,
- 25:12Speaker 1: just here's the thing, and this is sometimes the case.
- 25:15Speaker 1: So this is not me like calling out the writing,
- 25:18Speaker 1: but it is me lamenting a thing that can happen.
- 25:23Speaker 1: It always makes me really sad when a person who
- 25:28Speaker 1: really truly sucks manages to do something that brings down
- 25:33Speaker 1: a carefully coordinated and organized operation. You know, a person
- 25:39Speaker 1: who is like a fool and incompetent and just overall
- 25:45Speaker 1: a real loser, and they are able to throw a
- 25:48Speaker 1: wrench in the works of people who are better than
- 25:52Speaker 1: them in literally every way. And unfortunately that happens like
- 25:58Speaker 1: fairly easily, because in truth, when you are an intelligent
- 26:03Speaker 1: person and you try and account for all the ways
- 26:05Speaker 1: that a thing can go wrong, you don't often account
- 26:09Speaker 1: for just idiots because you kind of forget how stupid
- 26:14Speaker 1: people can actually be, and you underestimate that because you're
- 26:20Speaker 1: just sort of you know, the fact that he was
- 26:23Speaker 1: able to just literally like stow away. I mean, I'm
- 26:30Speaker 1: just I hate this for them, and I just wish
- 26:34Speaker 1: that he would die, I really just drop dead. But
- 26:37Speaker 1: he's so pleased with himself. He really feels like he
- 26:40Speaker 1: did something. So we then go over to Edward Weavil
- 26:52Speaker 1: and the way that he has described is self proclaimed
- 26:58Speaker 1: only son of white Beard, and then we meet his
- 27:06Speaker 1: wife and not wife, his lover, sorry they weren't married.
- 27:13Speaker 1: Miss Buckin is her name, self proclaimed Whitebeard's lover. Let's
- 27:23Speaker 1: take a second and talk about miss Buckin'.
- 27:32Speaker 2: I don't know where to start.
- 27:33Speaker 1: First of all, she has like this very pinched face.
- 27:39Speaker 1: She's got the look around her lips from all those
- 27:42Speaker 1: lines that people get when they smoke very heavily, because
- 27:46Speaker 1: they're always sort of pinching and puckering their mouths around
- 27:49Speaker 1: the end of the cigarette and it can lead to
- 27:51Speaker 1: this very particular kind of wrinkle pattern. And I think
- 27:56Speaker 1: for her it's just meant to be, like she purses
- 27:58Speaker 1: her lips a lot because she is like uptight. And
- 28:02Speaker 1: she's got these teeny tiny little black glasses with these
- 28:08Speaker 1: eyebrows that really only go like halfway over where the
- 28:12Speaker 1: eye her eyebrows should be. She has hair that is
- 28:19Speaker 1: very much giving Helmepo to me. It's like almost the
- 28:24Speaker 1: exact same haircut, but it's topped with this tiny little
- 28:32Speaker 1: leprechawn hat. She's wearing a purple dress that's got white
- 28:40Speaker 1: Beard's like a white Beard style sort of Jolly Roger
- 28:45Speaker 1: on it, but it's not his. It's just like a
- 28:48Speaker 1: sort of you know, there's it's got his mustache on
- 28:51Speaker 1: it and whatnot, with yellow pearls around her neck and
- 28:57Speaker 1: a leopard coat overall that's got green fur trim and
- 29:07Speaker 1: a huge green furry collar, which is also kind of
- 29:13Speaker 1: giving like she looks like a very trashy leprechaun. She
- 29:17Speaker 1: really does. She's got a walking stick, and when her
- 29:21Speaker 1: hand rests on it, you can see that every single
- 29:23Speaker 1: one of her fingers has a ring on it, and
- 29:27Speaker 1: it's clear that her whole vibe is meant.
- 29:31Speaker 2: To be very grasping.
- 29:34Speaker 1: What she was reminding me of was in the Adam's
- 29:38Speaker 1: Family movie. You know Gordon, who is supposedly fake Fester
- 29:46Speaker 1: but he is the real Fester, and the woman who
- 29:50Speaker 1: is pretending to be his mother Gordon, I love you,
- 29:56Speaker 1: Gordon the Vault. So she is is telling him that
- 30:02Speaker 1: you are inheriting your father's legacy. You look just like him.
- 30:08Speaker 1: I have this photo to prove that you are definitely
- 30:11Speaker 1: his relation. And this dude is Hugh Mungous and he's got.
- 30:21Speaker 1: I'm trying to think of exactly how to describe his
- 30:24Speaker 1: outfit too, because it's really something he's got like a
- 30:28Speaker 1: a pair of overalls kind of that has the same
- 30:33Speaker 1: sigil on the front, but with the two gold braids,
- 30:37Speaker 1: which he's got, shoes very very akin to like Pilgrim's
- 30:43Speaker 1: shoes with a buckle, and his hair which is almost
- 30:50Speaker 1: to the ground in the back and very fluffy in
- 30:54Speaker 1: the style of like do Flamingo's jacket, and a little
- 30:59Speaker 1: bean on the.
- 31:00Speaker 2: Top of his head.
- 31:02Speaker 1: And when I mentioned earlier that he has on overalls,
- 31:07Speaker 1: the straps of the overalls are chain they are not
- 31:11Speaker 1: regular fabric straps. So yeah, he is also being very
- 31:20Speaker 1: much bullied by his mother. It's very clear that like
- 31:24Speaker 1: he isn't wanting the things that she wants from him.
- 31:30Speaker 1: He isn't ambitious, and he isn't grasping, and he doesn't
- 31:34Speaker 1: really feel like he has owed anything because he is
- 31:37Speaker 1: Whitebeard's son. Even if he believes that he is his son,
- 31:40Speaker 1: it seems like for him it's kind of irrelevant, and
- 31:45Speaker 1: she is just using him to get what she thinks
- 31:50Speaker 1: he deserves and thus what she deserves. And this is
- 31:54Speaker 1: one of those tropes that's like, it's I have absolutely
- 32:00Speaker 1: zero doubt that this is something that has gone down
- 32:03Speaker 1: this way, but it's it's a trope that's always like
- 32:07Speaker 1: hit me as a sort of problematic because it's and
- 32:13Speaker 1: I'm not saying that here necessarily, I'm just gonna express
- 32:17Speaker 1: my feelings on it as a trope in general. A
- 32:21Speaker 1: couple things. One, Historically women have had so little power
- 32:27Speaker 1: that a woman having a son of a powerful man
- 32:31Speaker 1: and then leveraging her son to use against him, it
- 32:36Speaker 1: only makes sense. It's the sort of thing where it's like, yeah,
- 32:38Speaker 1: this is the one power point that she has to
- 32:43Speaker 1: press on, and it's hard for me to get mad
- 32:45Speaker 1: about it sometimes because I'm just like, what else is
- 32:47Speaker 1: she supposed to do? And then there's also like the
- 32:55Speaker 1: fantasy that a lot of men have in their head
- 32:58Speaker 1: about how women pregnant to try and trap a guy. Now, again,
- 33:04Speaker 1: that definitely happens, but so many dudes behave as if
- 33:08Speaker 1: it's something that's about to happen to them, when nobody
- 33:11Speaker 1: would ever try to trap you because you are poor,
- 33:15Speaker 1: you are not a movie star, you are not a
- 33:19Speaker 1: NFL player, you work a circle. Okay, nobody's trying to
- 33:24Speaker 1: trap you guy, like it's just overvaluing yourself so much,
- 33:29Speaker 1: you know so, And you know, obviously I don't know
- 33:34Speaker 1: what she was doing when white Beard was still alive,
- 33:37Speaker 1: if she was like on this kick already, But there's
- 33:40Speaker 1: a vibe for me that she's doing this now because
- 33:43Speaker 1: he's dead and he can't contradict her. I have a
- 33:46Speaker 1: very hard time believing that Whitebeard fucked her, but you know,
- 33:50Speaker 1: people change, and maybe she was really something at one point.
- 33:54Speaker 2: What do I know.
- 33:56Speaker 1: I'm just like, also, the size differential, it's very difficult
- 34:00Speaker 1: for me to like in this universe. Understand, white Beard
- 34:04Speaker 1: was like fourteen feet tall and this woman looks like
- 34:08Speaker 1: she's about three and a half. I feel like his
- 34:11Speaker 1: dick would be bigger than her in like entire body.
- 34:16Speaker 1: So I don't really want to know, to be honest,
- 34:20Speaker 1: I have these questions a lot. You guys know, it's
- 34:23Speaker 1: just not gonna ever really make sense. And that's fine,
- 34:29Speaker 1: Sarahim says trailer park Leprechaun Karen, which, yeah, I feel
- 34:34Speaker 1: like that works. The Karen Park, I feel like sort
- 34:39Speaker 1: of remains to be seen. I can see it with her,
- 34:42Speaker 1: but there is something about her aggression that, like Karen
- 34:45Speaker 1: is so much more of like a suburban mom vibe
- 34:49Speaker 1: for me, and this lady is very much giving, like
- 34:56Speaker 1: what she's making me think of. Like East Haven, when
- 35:01Speaker 1: I lived in Connecticut, had a very very high Italian population,
- 35:06Speaker 1: and the way that boy children were treated in comparison
- 35:12Speaker 1: to their sisters by both their mothers and fathers was
- 35:16Speaker 1: so god awful to witness. And the moms had the
- 35:22Speaker 1: same intense jewelry and clothing style as well. So she's
- 35:28Speaker 1: got like the Leprechaun thing going for her in her
- 35:31Speaker 1: size and color choices. But she's got like kind of
- 35:35Speaker 1: mob wife energy as well. But yeah, so it's it's
- 35:43Speaker 1: just she's a lot and I this dude is out here,
- 35:49Speaker 1: like the death toll is up to six hundred, and
- 35:53Speaker 1: he doesn't really seem to want to do this really,
- 35:56Speaker 1: you know, he's clearly like not very smart. And he
- 36:00Speaker 1: says something at one point like I'm so sorry for
- 36:02Speaker 1: being stupid, and she's just like, yeah, I know. It
- 36:05Speaker 1: doesn't say, oh, honey, you're not stupid, never say that.
- 36:08Speaker 1: She's like, yeah, you're very dumb. Just listen to me
- 36:11Speaker 1: and don't think to yourself about anything. But she is
- 36:17Speaker 1: assuming that his dad died a rich man and figures
- 36:24Speaker 1: whatever he's got belongs to you ultimately. So as they're
- 36:31Speaker 1: walking along, we have one of those weird little Pelican
- 36:34Speaker 1: guys who delivers newspapers that she hails down and gets
- 36:41Speaker 1: a newspaper for, and he's saying to her, money is okay,
- 36:49Speaker 1: but what I really want is revenge. Blackbeard's gonna pay
- 36:53Speaker 1: for killing my daddy. I'll never forgive that big bully.
- 36:58Speaker 2: I'm gonna beat him up.
- 36:59Speaker 1: Till he's good and dead and he starts crying. And
- 37:07Speaker 1: this I can get behind. I can understand. She says,
- 37:12Speaker 1: foolish boy, where's the sense in getting even? You can't
- 37:16Speaker 1: pay the bills with revenge? You know which, honestly, you
- 37:21Speaker 1: can't pay the bills with revenge? Does kind of eat
- 37:24Speaker 1: as a line. I kind of love it, Like for
- 37:29Speaker 1: a moment I was like, Yeah, this guy's got the
- 37:31Speaker 1: right idea, And then when she said that, I was
- 37:33Speaker 1: sort of like, ooh, she makes a very good point.
- 37:36Speaker 1: You know, these days kids, money talks. Man, Like, I
- 37:41Speaker 1: know that we all want to be free from the
- 37:44Speaker 1: tyranny of the almighty dollar or whatever your currency is
- 37:47Speaker 1: where you live, but like the fact is we gotta
- 37:51Speaker 1: pay to live. And I think about the kinds of
- 37:55Speaker 1: things that people do for money, and I don't mean
- 37:57Speaker 1: like it's so funny, because when you that the kinds
- 38:00Speaker 1: of things people do for money, it brings up all
- 38:03Speaker 1: these lurid ideas of like drug dealing or sex work
- 38:07Speaker 1: or you know, like that's not even what I was thinking.
- 38:09Speaker 1: I was thinking about, Like big celebrities doing really undignified
- 38:14Speaker 1: commercials was what I was thinking, you know, like when
- 38:17Speaker 1: they just suddenly they're in a Capital one commercial and
- 38:20Speaker 1: you're just like, what, why George Clooney really? And it
- 38:27Speaker 1: just makes me think sometimes about like there are so
- 38:29Speaker 1: many things over the years that I could have decided
- 38:32Speaker 1: to do if I really wanted money over everything, and
- 38:38Speaker 1: I didn't do it.
- 38:40Speaker 2: And sometimes I look back and I'm like, should I have?
- 38:42Speaker 1: Though? You know, even with the podcast, like I took
- 38:45Speaker 1: down Harry Potter because I felt really uncomfortable with this
- 38:49Speaker 1: recording of me and Rashaan for literal years talking about
- 38:54Speaker 1: how great JK. Rolling is and that being out there
- 38:56Speaker 1: in the world with no context.
- 38:57Speaker 2: So I took it down.
- 38:59Speaker 1: And I made it patrons only, but I was making
- 39:03Speaker 1: fucking solid money off of the ads from that show,
- 39:07Speaker 1: and took a hit when I took it down, Like
- 39:10Speaker 1: I really took a hit. And I think about all
- 39:13Speaker 1: the time, like I could have just left it up.
- 39:14Speaker 1: I don't think anybody would have like yelled at me
- 39:16Speaker 1: for it. Nobody had really mentioned it bothering them or anything.
- 39:23Speaker 1: But I couldn't live with it. I couldn't do it
- 39:26Speaker 1: for me for my own morality. I was just like,
- 39:28Speaker 1: this makes me uncomfortable, and like I wish I could
- 39:32Speaker 1: just not be uncomfortable with stuff and just let me,
- 39:36Speaker 1: let me let money roll in and just fucking let it,
- 39:38Speaker 1: you know. But so anyway, this uh go and claim
- 39:48Speaker 1: what belongs to you, and he just says, okay, mom,
- 39:53Speaker 1: I will uh. And then he asks her what does
- 39:59Speaker 1: the newspaper say, and she's like, well, don't Flamingo just
- 40:03Speaker 1: got taken out And she says it like really casually.
- 40:09Speaker 1: It's like.
- 40:11Speaker 2: It's pretty big news.
- 40:13Speaker 1: But she's just like, ah, this fucking clown, which I
- 40:16Speaker 1: did find entertaining because everybody's just given to Flamingo so
- 40:20Speaker 1: much respect, you know, and her just being like ugh,
- 40:23Speaker 1: I thought that was very funny. Saraphim says, but Blackbeard
- 40:29Speaker 1: is also an emperor. You could beat him up and
- 40:31Speaker 1: steal all his treasure. That's true, that's true. Florian says, yeah,
- 40:36Speaker 1: but there are easier ways to get money than to
- 40:38Speaker 1: go up against Blackbeard, I would think, And Sarahim says, yep,
- 40:41Speaker 1: she just wants an easy score, and yeah, that's the
- 40:44Speaker 1: thing is like she doesn't want to She wants to
- 40:47Speaker 1: be able to sail in and say this already belongs
- 40:51Speaker 1: to us, you know.
- 40:53Speaker 2: Which I do get the appeal like she.
- 40:56Speaker 1: I can't decide. I don't know yet, and maybe we'll
- 40:59Speaker 1: find out, or maybe we won't, and we'll just have
- 41:01Speaker 1: to sort of base our thoughts on this on context clues.
- 41:12Speaker 1: I can't tell if she actually believes that this is
- 41:17Speaker 1: his son, or if she just knows this dude looks
- 41:21Speaker 1: exactly like him and it's a really solid scam, you know.
- 41:26Speaker 1: I feel like she seems to believe it. I feel
- 41:32Speaker 1: like she really, you know. But sometimes there's a type
- 41:37Speaker 1: of person that can get very into their scam to
- 41:41Speaker 1: the point that they do start to believe their own bullshit.
- 41:44Speaker 1: So who can say. But I guess we'll find or
- 41:49Speaker 1: like I said, or maybe we won't. I don't know.
- 41:52Speaker 1: So then we go to see Buggy. You guys, I
- 42:01Speaker 1: am so excited for Buggy to be back. Y'all know
- 42:05Speaker 1: what a soft spot I have for this dude. I
- 42:08Speaker 1: really have missed him.
- 42:12Speaker 2: He looks.
- 42:14Speaker 1: Bananas right now, like he's got It's like he's just
- 42:23Speaker 1: wearing a big snuggie. That's what it kind of looks like.
- 42:29Speaker 1: It's like a red snuggie. It's all one piece and
- 42:32Speaker 1: it's sort of like get it, and it's like a
- 42:36Speaker 1: pillowcase with holes at the wrist and ankles. His hair
- 42:42Speaker 1: has grown down to his chest and is very floppy,
- 42:48Speaker 1: and then there are huge I'm assuming like feathers that
- 42:54Speaker 1: are growing off the sides of You know what, guys,
- 42:56Speaker 1: remind me because I feel like I remember thinking that
- 43:01Speaker 1: it was feathers that were coming off of his hat,
- 43:03Speaker 1: and then at some point I realized that it's his
- 43:07Speaker 1: hair also coming through the sides of the hat. So
- 43:10Speaker 1: is that it is like the thing hanging down that
- 43:14Speaker 1: looks like hair part of the hat, and the thing
- 43:16Speaker 1: that looks like feathers actually is hair. I feel like
- 43:20Speaker 1: there's something here about the hair that I remember getting
- 43:23Speaker 1: wrong in the first place. And I feel like I
- 43:25Speaker 1: must be getting it wrong again. So he gets a
- 43:32Speaker 1: whole like he yells at everybody as soon as you're
- 43:36Speaker 1: finished eating, I want you out there and pillage sheer
- 43:39Speaker 1: hearts content and they all start to hoo hoo hoo.
- 43:45Speaker 1: Buggy the genius Jesture, a warlord slash pirate, the director
- 43:51Speaker 1: of Buggy's delivery. So I'll tell you what, kids. I
- 44:00Speaker 1: had a moment here of being like.
- 44:04Speaker 2: Is this actually Buggy?
- 44:07Speaker 1: Like what how? But yeah, this is a dude that
- 44:11Speaker 1: just failed up every time he tried to tell everybody no,
- 44:18Speaker 1: I didn't do this or no, like his fandom was
- 44:22Speaker 1: so heartily behind him that it was simply unthinkable that
- 44:29Speaker 1: he would fuck up, couldn't consider it. So everything he
- 44:34Speaker 1: did he wound up getting applauded and given a raise.
- 44:38Speaker 1: And as much as I normally hate this shit, Buggy
- 44:43Speaker 1: is just so entertaining. It's just I don't want him
- 44:47Speaker 1: taken out of the equation. I love him. He's just
- 44:50Speaker 1: so much fun. And I feel this way about the
- 44:53Speaker 1: live action actor as well, like he's just he was
- 44:58Speaker 1: such good casting. I do not want him to be
- 45:04Speaker 1: taken out of the show. I don't want there to
- 45:07Speaker 1: be a point where he's dead and we don't see
- 45:09Speaker 1: him anymore. It's just he's fun.
- 45:11Speaker 2: He's really fun.
- 45:15Speaker 1: Seraphim says, it's his hair of its blue. If I
- 45:22Speaker 1: think it's it's his hair. If it's blue, both things
- 45:25Speaker 1: are blue. So that's what's confusing to me, is like,
- 45:28Speaker 1: is the hair in front and the hair coming out
- 45:31Speaker 1: of the hat? Is does he just have his hair
- 45:33Speaker 1: coming out of two different places or is one just
- 45:37Speaker 1: meant to like mimic the color of his hair for decoration,
- 45:41Speaker 1: because the hair in front has a very distinct zigzag
- 45:47Speaker 1: edge to it, while the hair that's coming out of
- 45:51Speaker 1: the hat is very flowy and looks much more like
- 45:55Speaker 1: you know, anime long hair. But in this show people
- 45:59Speaker 1: can have very weird, distinct edges to their hair that
- 46:02Speaker 1: doesn't happen in life. So I don't know if he's
- 46:05Speaker 1: just got two different sections of hair that he has
- 46:07Speaker 1: styled totally differently, or if one of them isn't hair
- 46:10Speaker 1: at all.
- 46:11Speaker 2: I don't know.
- 46:13Speaker 1: Bernadette says, I really do not understand Buggy's new look.
- 46:17Speaker 2: What happened.
- 46:18Speaker 1: It feels like all he did was try and take
- 46:22Speaker 1: everything that he already had going on to eleven and
- 46:26Speaker 1: the big red suit thing. I don't even know. I
- 46:31Speaker 1: don't know what to call this, the snuggie. It's like
- 46:38Speaker 1: I could see that what I'm guessing is happening here,
- 46:44Speaker 1: this is my I actually kind of love this idea,
- 46:50Speaker 1: but I don't know if it's anything We'll see. There
- 46:56Speaker 1: are many people in this world who are much much
- 47:00Speaker 1: bigger and larger than other people, and.
- 47:05Speaker 2: There's not a whole lot of.
- 47:07Speaker 1: Explanation as to how this happens. Like giants exist, but
- 47:10Speaker 1: there's too many people with like differentials for it to
- 47:14Speaker 1: just be giants interer bred like. It just feels like
- 47:17Speaker 1: in this world, the more powerful and strong you are,
- 47:20Speaker 1: the physically bigger you literally get, which is weird because
- 47:24Speaker 1: then you've got like the straw hats and Moofy's the
- 47:26Speaker 1: same size he always was, so that's not clearly always true.
- 47:30Speaker 1: But what I think is going on is that Buggy
- 47:35Speaker 1: is like a normal sized guy, but he's a warlord
- 47:39Speaker 1: now and he needs to keep up appearances and be intimidating.
- 47:45Speaker 1: So if he uses this thing to cover up his body,
- 47:50Speaker 1: but just projects his hands and his feet out because
- 47:54Speaker 1: he can separate them, it gives the illusion that he
- 47:58Speaker 1: looks huge, huge, and we know that under all of that,
- 48:03Speaker 1: he's got this little body down there and his hands
- 48:05Speaker 1: are like twenty feet upove his neck. But when he's
- 48:12Speaker 1: got this whole onesion, it makes it look like he's
- 48:16Speaker 1: all one body, and so it just makes him feel
- 48:22Speaker 1: like he's more intimidating. And I can understand it, Like
- 48:28Speaker 1: I said, in this universe where people are huge, sometimes
- 48:32Speaker 1: this tactic actually makes sense. I could see why you
- 48:37Speaker 1: do it, Like I think that it's the sort of
- 48:41Speaker 1: thing that really only works here in this context, though
- 48:44Speaker 1: in a fight it doesn't make a lot of sense.
- 48:47Speaker 1: So he can't keep this up forever because he's got to.
- 48:52Speaker 2: Be free to move.
- 48:54Speaker 1: The advantage of the way that he can split himself
- 48:58Speaker 1: into pieces is that mobility, and obviously this onesie is
- 49:02Speaker 1: not going to alab at. So I'm really wondering, like,
- 49:05Speaker 1: do his men know he's actually a normal sized.
- 49:08Speaker 2: Dude or do they know and they just approve.
- 49:14Speaker 1: Of his posturing like this because they understand that it's
- 49:17Speaker 1: really sort of symbolic because like, even though he's not
- 49:21Speaker 1: actually large, he still has a fucking superpower where he
- 49:25Speaker 1: can cut his hands off. It's that's not not impressive,
- 49:29Speaker 1: you know, like that's not nothing. So maybe they're fine
- 49:34Speaker 1: with that, and he's not really hiding anything. It's just
- 49:37Speaker 1: a sort of mental trick, you know. I don't know,
- 49:40Speaker 1: but I like the idea of it. Florian says, I
- 49:45Speaker 1: think Buggy is a pufferfish. Now he uses his power
- 49:48Speaker 1: to seem bigger, exactly like a pufferfish. Oh my god, Florian,
- 49:52Speaker 1: that is so funny. But yeah, Seraphim says, it's buggy.
- 49:56Speaker 1: If he ends up having to actually fight, he's already screwed.
- 50:00Speaker 1: That's a point I also could see. You know, I'm
- 50:03Speaker 1: saying that the mobility is the advantage here, but if
- 50:07Speaker 1: you've got that onesie, you could use it to like
- 50:09Speaker 1: wrap people up like in a net basically, and he
- 50:16Speaker 1: would be able to have them totally enclosed in fabric,
- 50:18Speaker 1: but his actual body parts that they can damage, like
- 50:21Speaker 1: way out of the way where they couldn't reach any
- 50:24Speaker 1: of them. So maybe there is an advantage to doing
- 50:29Speaker 1: it this way. I don't know, but yeah. So this
- 50:34Speaker 1: is when he gets news that all of the giants
- 50:39Speaker 1: that he's got working for them are all quitting, and
- 50:44Speaker 1: he's like, wait, but they make us the most money
- 50:46Speaker 1: and we're just starting to get busy. Why would they
- 50:49Speaker 1: quit now? And Mo She's like, oh, you're not gonna
- 50:53Speaker 1: leg the answer, and he says, spit it out, and
- 50:56Speaker 1: like you know, we know that it's gonna be they
- 50:59Speaker 1: decided to go and join up with Loofy, which is
- 51:02Speaker 1: going to fucking kill him. So I'm so sorry, guys,
- 51:08Speaker 1: I just realized how long I've taken to talk about
- 51:10Speaker 1: all this stuff. The end of this second episode is
- 51:14Speaker 1: when oh my god, what is his name? The dude
- 51:21Speaker 1: who draws? He draws that little dragon guy, And I
- 51:28Speaker 1: knew this was gonna be bad, but it was like
- 51:32Speaker 1: even worse than I was expecting, because this little dragon
- 51:35Speaker 1: creature is just like trying to talk at first, and
- 51:39Speaker 1: I'm positive that I made this joke before, but it
- 51:43Speaker 1: just very much is giving, like killy killy, Like this
- 51:47Speaker 1: dragon is supposed to help them climb up the side
- 51:52Speaker 1: of the elephant, and honestly, it was like a little
- 51:59Speaker 1: bit puzzling to me that all our guys couldn't find
- 52:03Speaker 1: a way up without doing it this way. But okay,
- 52:07Speaker 1: so they're going up the side of the elephant and
- 52:12Speaker 1: this creature is having so much trouble hanging on. Eventually,
- 52:18Speaker 1: a monkey falls from above and knocks them off. A
- 52:24Speaker 1: Condurero like conjure, says Sarahim. I really wish you had
- 52:28Speaker 1: mentioned the conjure thing way longer ago, because that's helpful.
- 52:32Speaker 1: That will help me. But yeah, they Kinemon and Condreau
- 52:41Speaker 1: fall off along with a monkey, and it's such a
- 52:47Speaker 1: weird thing because they were explaining just before this that
- 52:50Speaker 1: they are looking for their friend who is a ninja,
- 52:53Speaker 1: and everybody gets super excited about a ninja in a
- 52:58Speaker 1: way that's sort of like, you live in a world
- 53:00Speaker 1: with devil fruit powers. Why is the ninja thing so
- 53:03Speaker 1: exciting to you? But anyway, this uh dragon that they
- 53:11Speaker 1: are riding the back of is really really fucking struggling
- 53:16Speaker 1: to get up the side of the elephant. At one point,
- 53:19Speaker 1: Lufi does fall off and he has to use his
- 53:23Speaker 1: rubber ability to maintain his place and hold on to
- 53:27Speaker 1: the dragon. Uh Rianosuke, Rianosuke. I feel like I should
- 53:36Speaker 1: remember how it's pronounced because I just watched this, but
- 53:38Speaker 1: I have forgotten.
- 53:39Speaker 2: I'm sorry.
- 53:43Speaker 1: I will say that Lufy holding on to the dragon
- 53:47Speaker 1: while falling. I was watching Condro and Quenumn fall going
- 53:53Speaker 1: because Lufi's yelling like what do we do? And I'm like,
- 53:56Speaker 1: use your superpower where your arms stretch out to seventy
- 54:00Speaker 1: five feet long and grab them. Dude, Like, what do
- 54:02Speaker 1: you mean?
- 54:02Speaker 2: What do we do?
- 54:04Speaker 1: It's really weird this show sometimes how we act like
- 54:07Speaker 1: Lufy can't do that. There's been multiple times where he
- 54:10Speaker 1: could have just reached out and handled something and we
- 54:13Speaker 1: all act like that's not possible. And it can be
- 54:16Speaker 1: annoying to me the way that it's just like, oh no,
- 54:21Speaker 1: and then it just never comes up. But we have
- 54:25Speaker 1: a guy who has the power that would.
- 54:27Speaker 2: Really be perfect right now.
- 54:28Speaker 1: Actually, it's just that moment in the very very beginning
- 54:35Speaker 1: that all like it was the first time that it
- 54:37Speaker 1: happened that I really noticed, and it stuck with me
- 54:40Speaker 1: in my head when his hat that Shanks gave him
- 54:44Speaker 1: blows away and it's this big dramatic moment of him
- 54:47Speaker 1: chasing after the hat, and it's like, obviously the point
- 54:51Speaker 1: is dramatically speaking to emphasize to us how important the
- 54:54Speaker 1: hat is, but he could literally have just reached out
- 54:57Speaker 1: and grabbed it, and we just don't do that, and
- 55:00Speaker 1: it feels very silly. So anyway, everybody is like trying
- 55:08Speaker 1: to cheer on this dragon because he has almost lost
- 55:10Speaker 1: his footing due to Loofy pulling him backward. And then
- 55:14Speaker 1: finally they all begin to cheer him on and try
- 55:18Speaker 1: and be as encouraging as they can because he's doing his.
- 55:20Speaker 2: Best and.
- 55:26Speaker 1: Ray Re Youno Sky, that's how they're saying it in
- 55:29Speaker 1: the dub Re Youno ska Re you know sk. The
- 55:36Speaker 1: The part of this that I really enjoyed was everybody
- 55:40Speaker 1: who was being mean to him at first turning around
- 55:43Speaker 1: and being like, he's doing his best, be encouraging. I however,
- 55:50Speaker 1: had a really hard time Rhyuno Sky is doing his best,
- 55:54Speaker 1: but he should. He didn't have to be here, and
- 55:56Speaker 1: this whole thing that that is being demanded of him
- 55:59Speaker 1: is super un and he's like crying.
- 56:02Speaker 2: A lot of the time.
- 56:03Speaker 1: And I just really was so so like having a
- 56:07Speaker 1: hard time with this. And then eventually they get to
- 56:10Speaker 1: the top, everybody is cheering rianoske is and I love
- 56:15Speaker 1: the fact that, like Robin, every time the camera turns
- 56:18Speaker 1: to her, she just goes so cute over and over again.
- 56:23Speaker 2: That was a fun bit.
- 56:24Speaker 1: I actually really liked that. But then when they get
- 56:27Speaker 1: to the top and everybody's cheering him on, and he's
- 56:29Speaker 1: like got a happy smile on his face. She says, oh, no,
- 56:33Speaker 1: you're changing back, and everybody else who had been cheering
- 56:37Speaker 1: him turns around and they start to see him begin
- 56:40Speaker 1: to vanish as the drawing of him reappears on the ground,
- 56:46Speaker 1: and they all get very choked up. And I would
- 56:50Speaker 1: be a liar if I didn't say I got so
- 56:53Speaker 1: choked up at this point, guys, it was so sad Rianoske.
- 57:00Speaker 1: Justice for Rinoske. He didn't ask to be here. All
- 57:03Speaker 1: he was used for was the super hard job, and
- 57:07Speaker 1: then he has to go back to being a drawing. Unfair. Unfair.
- 57:11Speaker 1: I don't care for it. He deserves a life of
- 57:14Speaker 1: ease and pleasure. Renoske should be brought back, just so
- 57:18Speaker 1: that he can frolic in the streams and enjoy himself
- 57:22Speaker 1: and not have to work another day in his life.
- 57:25Speaker 2: All that work.
- 57:26Speaker 1: That should be the end of the work that is
- 57:28Speaker 1: demanded of him. And there is a wonderful moment where
- 57:33Speaker 1: we see the sun and the clouds streak before and
- 57:36Speaker 1: everybody's standing there crying, and then all of a sudden,
- 57:40Speaker 1: the camera cuts away to law and Zorro going, this
- 57:45Speaker 1: is dumb. It's just a crappy drawing. I was so
- 57:50Speaker 1: teared up. And then it cuts to them and I laughed,
- 57:53Speaker 1: I really did. It was just so unexpected. I didn't
- 57:56Speaker 1: even think to ask, like where's Ooro and Trafalgar, like,
- 58:00Speaker 1: didn't even think, And of course they'd react this way.
- 58:03Speaker 1: They would not care. It was very well done. Show
- 58:10Speaker 1: some respect, you jerk. You can at least thank him
- 58:12Speaker 1: for bringing us all this way. Zoro replies with, like, well,
- 58:19Speaker 1: we need to stay alert because we don't know where
- 58:21Speaker 1: we fucking are, and Usup is like, well, you have
- 58:24Speaker 1: a point, but still so eventually everybody like starts to
- 58:29Speaker 1: move forward and be very involved in their new setting,
- 58:34Speaker 1: and us Up shares a little bit of frustration at
- 58:36Speaker 1: the fact that they were able to forget their fallen friend,
- 58:39Speaker 1: their fallen comrade so easily.
- 58:42Speaker 2: Uh, I do like that.
- 58:44Speaker 1: I thought this is all a good bit. So it's
- 58:47Speaker 1: such a weird place because there's tons of buildings and
- 58:55Speaker 1: there's you know, it's there's a lot of ruins are
- 59:00Speaker 1: being like grown over with moss, but like there's some
- 59:04Speaker 1: wooden structures that still seem like they're pretty much. They're
- 59:08Speaker 1: not rotting or falling away. The moss doesn't seem so
- 59:13Speaker 1: much a product of neglect so much as like this
- 59:16Speaker 1: is a humid environment, you know. And they're going through
- 59:21Speaker 1: all of the buildings and they're looking like through all
- 59:25Speaker 1: of the woods, and they can't find any people. And
- 59:31Speaker 1: they reach this gate and the gate has been knocked
- 59:37Speaker 1: down somehow by force. It's clear the hinges are still
- 59:41Speaker 1: on the sides, but the gates are down that something
- 59:44Speaker 1: just shoved them, and the trail itself is all warped
- 59:51Speaker 1: ahead of them. No normal animal could have made a
- 59:55Speaker 1: path this wide. And they start to hear something they're
- 1:00:02Speaker 1: talking about, like Sanjy's group, and whether or not they're okay.
- 1:00:08Speaker 1: We cut to Robin for a second, who's just looking
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: around and noticing that there are flowers growing in weird
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: places here, which I feel like must be something that
- 1:00:17Speaker 1: we're gonna hear more about. It didn't I didn't notice it,
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: you know, but I feel like this is what do
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: they call that Chekhov's So let's see. Then we have
- 1:00:30Speaker 1: the girl who's watching through the binoculars, and this is
- 1:00:33Speaker 1: the little half animal girl that we saw when we
- 1:00:35Speaker 1: were with the straw hats earlier, and she says, the lesser.
- 1:00:39Speaker 2: Minx waltz right through the.
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: Gate, which I guess is what they call humans, and
- 1:00:44Speaker 1: she says maybe they beat him. And her name is Carrot,
- 1:00:51Speaker 1: as we find out, which is fantastic. Eventually, we get
- 1:01:00Speaker 1: by this huge alligator who is being uh steered by
- 1:01:09Speaker 1: a fox like creature on his back, and Carrot, who
- 1:01:16Speaker 1: has just about to uh was just about to attack
- 1:01:19Speaker 1: the group, gets yelled at and told like desist basically
- 1:01:24Speaker 1: and oosup looks up. Of course, we get a zoom
- 1:01:27Speaker 1: in on her tits and he says, I know those clothes,
- 1:01:32Speaker 1: and there's NAMMY's bikini top and he's like, wait a second,
- 1:01:38Speaker 1: but that's not not me. And now we've got the
- 1:01:43Speaker 1: question of like, but is it though, because I feel
- 1:01:45Speaker 1: like it is not me. Maybe she got turned into
- 1:01:51Speaker 1: an animal by this girl. Maybe that's our power. I
- 1:01:53Speaker 1: don't know, but we'll see. I have to wrap this
- 1:01:57Speaker 1: one up, guys, because I'm over time, so I really
- 1:02:00Speaker 1: got to hurry it along. But yeah, wild opening real weird.
- 1:02:05Speaker 1: So I guess we will have to see appreciate all
- 1:02:09Speaker 1: of you so much, and I will be seeing you
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: tomorrow at two thirty with a new episode until then
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: to the lou Motherfuckers, that was an unspoiled network podcast.
