Today is national vanilla ice cream day, the humble hero of
• 0:17
the dessert world, often mocked as basic.
• 0:21
But let's be honest, vanilla is the foundation of milkshakes.
• 0:25
Sunday's root beer floats and basically half your childhood
• 0:29
happiness. It's the flavor that doesn't
• 0:32
need to show. It is there for you.
• 0:36
Subtle but significant. That brings us to today's quote,
• 0:41
which is a little brighter, a little sweeter, and perfectly
• 0:45
time. Someone once said you can't buy
• 0:51
happiness, but you can buy ice cream, and that's kind of the
• 0:56
same thing. No one knows who said this
• 1:00
first. Maybe a poet, maybe someone
• 1:04
  standing in line at baskin-robbins.
• 1:07
But either way, they were on to something.
• 1:10
Look, money might not solve all your problems, but a scoop of
• 1:15
ice cream on a hot summer day? That's a temporary solution that
• 1:19
works 100% of the time. Especially vanilla because it
• 1:25
doesn't try to distract you with chunks and swirls.
• 1:29
It's pure, it's honest, and sometimes that's all you need.
• 1:35
A little joys, a quiet winds. It can be simple, but it can
• 1:41
also be complex. You can add whatever you want to
• 1:45
it. Some Maple syrup or some
• 1:48
chocolate chips or Maple syrup and chocolate chips.
• 1:55
It's a choose your own adventure.
• 1:58
So today, let that scoop of vanilla be your reminder that
• 2:03
happiness doesn't always come with a hefty price tag.
• 2:07
Sometimes it comes in a cone, melting slightly faster than
• 2:11
you'd like, but still making everything just a bit better.
• 2:17
That's going to do it. For today, I'm Andrew Mceveren.
• 2:19
Signing off for now but I'll be back tomorrow.
