- 1:08Speaker 1: Dropping Dropping Gem Welcome back another episode of the Dropping
- 1:14Speaker 1: Gems podcast. We are here. I'm Debbie Brown. As always,
- 1:18Speaker 1: thank you so much for joining me, and thank you
- 1:21Speaker 1: for spending this time with me, but also thank you
- 1:23Speaker 1: for spending this time with yourself. This little forty five
- 1:27Speaker 1: minutes to an hour. I don't know what this show
- 1:29Speaker 1: is gonna come out too. But it is an investment
- 1:32Speaker 1: of self and it's an opportunity for us explore ourselves
- 1:37Speaker 1: to be curious about ourselves in the world. So I
- 1:40Speaker 1: do not take it lightly that you have joined me today.
- 1:42Speaker 1: I'm so grateful. Big shout out to everybody that has
- 1:45Speaker 1: been leaving ratings and reviews on the app Store and
- 1:49Speaker 1: Apple Um. I so deeply appreciate it and thank you
- 1:53Speaker 1: for seeing me. And I just want you to know
- 1:55Speaker 1: that I see you two, So very grateful. All right,
- 1:58Speaker 1: today's show, I'm pretty hype for this. A big piece
- 2:02Speaker 1: of my spiritual journey has been ancestral lineage work, A
- 2:07Speaker 1: big piece of the way that I show up for
- 2:09Speaker 1: myself in the world, and the work that I do
- 2:13Speaker 1: and the piece that I'm able to bring to myself
- 2:15Speaker 1: and to my child has really been anchored in connecting
- 2:21Speaker 1: to my lineage, connecting to the beautiful gifts that are
- 2:27Speaker 1: available to us that can't really come to us and
- 2:30Speaker 1: still until we call out for them. So in today's episode,
- 2:34Speaker 1: we are going to really begin to start peeling back
- 2:37Speaker 1: the layer on what does ancestral lineage work mean, and
- 2:42Speaker 1: it's something that is available to each of us. Regardless
- 2:45Speaker 1: of your background, regardless of really anything about your life,
- 2:49Speaker 1: what you do, where you've been. This is a piece
- 2:52Speaker 1: that you can add to that spiritual toolbox that you've
- 2:55Speaker 1: been cultivating that is going to start bringing about some real,
- 2:59Speaker 1: real radical self acceptance and change and what I've experienced
- 3:03Speaker 1: as very real miracles in my tangible Earth life. So
- 3:09Speaker 1: today's episode, we are going to be speaking to how
- 3:12Speaker 1: to summon in your ancestors, how to summon in guides
- 3:16Speaker 1: and angels, and we're just going to begin to do
- 3:19Speaker 1: some of that weaving and some of that unpacking and storytelling.
- 3:23Speaker 1: So I'm pretty excited. Keep an open mind and an
- 3:26Speaker 1: open heart. I know for many people listening some of
- 3:29Speaker 1: the things that we're going to talk about today may
- 3:31Speaker 1: feel maybe strange or a little foreign, or just different.
- 3:37Speaker 1: And so as always, you know, take what you need,
- 3:39Speaker 1: leave what you don't, but just stay open, Just stay open.
- 3:44Speaker 1: So what I say, ancestral lineage work, this is something
- 3:47Speaker 1: that has been coming forward quite a bit, I guess
- 3:49Speaker 1: really depending on your algorithm, it pops up on my
- 3:52Speaker 1: feet a lot, but it's really a concept and knowing
- 3:56Speaker 1: that has been circling different spiritual community is for quite
- 4:00Speaker 1: a while, and it's now becoming a little more mainstream
- 4:03Speaker 1: and its understanding. And so when I speak to ancestral healing,
- 4:07Speaker 1: the way that I experience it and share it is
- 4:09Speaker 1: I really believe and I envision that as I heal myself,
- 4:14Speaker 1: as I really invest in myself, that diligence of observation,
- 4:20Speaker 1: that pouring in and pouring out of joy, that connectiveness
- 4:25Speaker 1: to my truth, to my sacred being, and as I
- 4:28Speaker 1: share that, I am effortlessly extending that healing to all
- 4:34Speaker 1: of the lineage that came before me. And I'm absolutely
- 4:37Speaker 1: extending that healing to all the lineage that will move
- 4:42Speaker 1: through me and be in the future. And so whenever
- 4:45Speaker 1: I'm in maybe one of the tougher phases of my journey,
- 4:48Speaker 1: maybe I'm investigating some pieces of myself that are a
- 4:52Speaker 1: little more challenging than you know, I don't like to
- 4:54Speaker 1: look at, or some of the more shadowy depths, or
- 4:58Speaker 1: even as I'm experiencing new challenge just as they arise
- 5:00Speaker 1: and it's bringing forth different traumas and triggers, you know,
- 5:05Speaker 1: I really try to go about it with joyful curiosity
- 5:10Speaker 1: instead of self judgment or instead of victimization. At least
- 5:15Speaker 1: that is my attempt, but I really try to move
- 5:18Speaker 1: through it with always having in the forefront of my
- 5:21Speaker 1: mind that I am equipped for this moment, I have
- 5:24Speaker 1: access to all the tools that I will need for
- 5:26Speaker 1: this life, and that any work that I do for
- 5:29Speaker 1: myself will be a gift to my lineage, past, present
- 5:33Speaker 1: and future and create new opportunities and really create an
- 5:37Speaker 1: energy that adds into the new Earth and the elevation
- 5:41Speaker 1: of collective consciousness that so many of us are working
- 5:45Speaker 1: to bring forward, so much healing that we want to
- 5:47Speaker 1: extend to people. So today's show, I have a very
- 5:50Speaker 1: special guest. Um. All my shows are special guests, but
- 5:54Speaker 1: I am absolutely in awe of this woman. Um. I
- 5:58Speaker 1: love the way she teaches, is, I love the way
- 6:01Speaker 1: she speaks, and she is just a true beacon of light.
- 6:06Speaker 1: So coming to the show today, my guest is doctor
- 6:09Speaker 1: Rossio Rosales Mesa. She is a seer, a medicine woman,
- 6:14Speaker 1: an energy worker, a writer, a psycho, spiritual intuitive coach,
- 6:19Speaker 1: and a de colonial healer. And while she has a
- 6:23Speaker 1: PhD in counseling psychology, she has chosen not to pursue
- 6:27Speaker 1: licensure as a psychologist because of the Field's colonial nature.
- 6:32Speaker 1: Her work is now to help the black indigenous women
- 6:35Speaker 1: and films of color be free from colonial programming, rather
- 6:39Speaker 1: than having them internalized colonial labels. And I'm so happy
- 6:45Speaker 1: to have her here. I love her work. We're going
- 6:47Speaker 1: to break down all of the ways that she can
- 6:49Speaker 1: connect with her because you guys are I know everyone
- 6:51Speaker 1: is just going to be like, oh, I need more
- 6:54Speaker 1: of a piece of that. So, without further ado, I
- 6:57Speaker 1: would love to welcome to the show the amazing doctor Rossio.
- 7:03Speaker 1: So welcome to the show, Dr Rossio. Thank you for
- 7:06Speaker 1: joining us, Thank you for having me. It's so good
- 7:09Speaker 1: to be here with you. I absolutely love speaking to you.
- 7:13Speaker 1: I had the chance to, of course do um Alive.
- 7:16Speaker 1: We did on the Choper account recently about decolon de colonialization. Uh.
- 7:21Speaker 1: And also though we started out, we first met online
- 7:25Speaker 1: because COVID, so we were both we both spoke on
- 7:30Speaker 1: a panel really at the top of the pandemic for
- 7:33Speaker 1: we Rise l A, which is a mental health initiative
- 7:36Speaker 1: here in Los Angeles that does just deeply beautiful work.
- 7:40Speaker 1: And I remember being on that panel with you, and
- 7:43Speaker 1: I was just like you were just so striking to me.
- 7:46Speaker 1: I just loved hearing what you had to say, your
- 7:49Speaker 1: spirit just really exuded through you and jumped out of
- 7:53Speaker 1: the screen and your depth of knowledge. So I was like, oh,
- 7:56Speaker 1: I like her. I want to know more about her.
- 8:00Speaker 1: Thank you for your kind words. I felt the same
- 8:03Speaker 1: from you. I feel a kindred nous with you. Is
- 8:07Speaker 1: that a word? Yes? Yes, let's let it be a word. Yes.
- 8:10Speaker 1: So I so appreciate you and your spirits and just
- 8:14Speaker 1: all the beautiful work that that you're bringing for us.
- 8:17Speaker 1: So I'm so glad to be here with you again today. Wow,
- 8:21Speaker 1: I received that reflection. Thank you. You know so I've
- 8:24Speaker 1: had I've had a chance to share with the audience.
- 8:27Speaker 1: You know so much of who and what you are,
- 8:30Speaker 1: and there's so much that I find just deeply fascinating
- 8:33Speaker 1: about your journey. So you have your PhD and counseling psychology,
- 8:38Speaker 1: so that means you were in school forever. You were
- 8:43Speaker 1: in school forever. But you made the conscious choice, even
- 8:47Speaker 1: with that deep investment not just of time but of money,
- 8:52Speaker 1: you made the conscious choice to say, you know, I
- 8:55Speaker 1: got these learnings, but this isn't the way that I
- 8:57Speaker 1: want to help people heal. Can you speak to why
- 9:00Speaker 1: did you decide to not pursue your licensure as a
- 9:03Speaker 1: psychologist given the time spent. Yeah. Yeah, So I honestly
- 9:12Speaker 1: was forced. I say, spirit and ancestors forced me out
- 9:18Speaker 1: of that field because I became I developed the chronic
- 9:23Speaker 1: migraine disability. Because I was in school forever, for probably
- 9:28Speaker 1: twenty years of my life. I really exploited my body
- 9:33Speaker 1: to earn the PhD. I really abused my body, and
- 9:37Speaker 1: so there came a time where my body just gave out.
- 9:41Speaker 1: And I trained as a psychologist seeing clients, um, doing therapy.
- 9:49Speaker 1: But then I made the shift to become a professor,
- 9:54Speaker 1: a psychology professor, because I thought, um, it might be
- 9:57Speaker 1: a little easier for me, It might be easy year
- 10:00Speaker 1: to set those boundaries because part of me sort of
- 10:03Speaker 1: cared too much about the people that I was working
- 10:06Speaker 1: with and really felt constrained in the way that folks
- 10:10Speaker 1: do therapy now in the psychology field, and so I
- 10:14Speaker 1: felt like, if I'm a professor, I may have a
- 10:16Speaker 1: little bit more flexibility. Um, which didn't turn out to
- 10:20Speaker 1: be the case. Because women of color and academia are
- 10:25Speaker 1: almost like the mothers, the mothers for black indigenous students
- 10:29Speaker 1: of color, and so I really just yeah, I really
- 10:33Speaker 1: just repeated the same pattern of abusing my body. Um
- 10:39Speaker 1: after I earned tenure, which means that I secured a
- 10:43Speaker 1: lifelong position through doing research, through my teaching evaluations, all
- 10:48Speaker 1: of that, I developed a disability and I was forced
- 10:53Speaker 1: to take medical leave. And during that time, I was
- 10:57Speaker 1: also pregnant, and I there were day and so even
- 11:04Speaker 1: going back a little bit before I had to take
- 11:06Speaker 1: that medical leave, I was living in pain, daily pain,
- 11:09Speaker 1: severe pain for two years and it wasn't until I
- 11:14Speaker 1: became pregnant that it was almost as if my body
- 11:17Speaker 1: said I can't do this anymore. We need a break,
- 11:19Speaker 1: you know. And on that medical leave and after having
- 11:23Speaker 1: my child, I just I just couldn't even there were
- 11:27Speaker 1: days I couldn't even get out of bed. And so
- 11:31Speaker 1: I was on a medical leave and I was let go.
- 11:36Speaker 1: You know, I was fired from my position. They said,
- 11:40Speaker 1: I technically wasn't fired. I lost my position, but it
- 11:45Speaker 1: was really they let me go. And that was a
- 11:48Speaker 1: huge blow because I never ever imagined that that would
- 11:54Speaker 1: happen because I had secured a life long, long position,
- 11:59Speaker 1: and so it was really through that being forced of
- 12:02Speaker 1: being fired that all of this sort of became this
- 12:06Speaker 1: illusion sort of begin to crumble, and and so I
- 12:11Speaker 1: started That's when I started to begin to see the
- 12:13Speaker 1: world differently and see that the systems that we have
- 12:17Speaker 1: set up that we think are secure and safe, that
- 12:21Speaker 1: we think bring us healing, that they're they're really false.
- 12:26Speaker 1: You know, that it really is just avail and it
- 12:30Speaker 1: is so tenuous and so fragile. And so I lived
- 12:34Speaker 1: that myself, and so all of that that being fired
- 12:39Speaker 1: without expectation, like we were literally and in conversations to
- 12:44Speaker 1: find accommodations for me. And then a couple of days later,
- 12:47Speaker 1: I received an email that said, I was, I was,
- 12:50Speaker 1: I lost my position. And so that experience of really
- 12:55Speaker 1: my world imploding really, you know, may me become so
- 13:01Speaker 1: critical and and de colonial in examining all of this. Yeah,
- 13:07Speaker 1: that that really illustrates for me in this moment. You know,
- 13:10Speaker 1: how society just really doesn't hold space for women, right,
- 13:16Speaker 1: all of these structures, all of these positions, all of
- 13:20Speaker 1: the everything, like there's not really dignity or compassion or
- 13:26Speaker 1: support extended to women because from the story you shared,
- 13:29Speaker 1: it's you are literally in immeasurable physical pain. You you're
- 13:36Speaker 1: very clearly doing the work, and you were striving to
- 13:39Speaker 1: do the work, and you had invested just an unfathomable
- 13:43Speaker 1: amount of time and mental exertion. Everything. You're pregnant with
- 13:48Speaker 1: a child, You have a child growing and being nourished
- 13:54Speaker 1: inside of you, and then the structure in place says
- 13:59Speaker 1: you're a place. What we can do without you? Figure
- 14:01Speaker 1: it out? Yeah? And particularly I want to say for
- 14:05Speaker 1: women of color that the way that we treat black
- 14:08Speaker 1: indigenous women of color is is we either place them
- 14:12Speaker 1: in servitude or we place them as an inconvenience. Oh okay,
- 14:17Speaker 1: say that one more time. Or Black Indigenous women of color,
- 14:22Speaker 1: particularly society either places them in this role of servitude
- 14:29Speaker 1: or as an inconvenience. M Yeah, even though I know
- 14:37Speaker 1: that to be true, just hearing it right now in
- 14:40Speaker 1: this moment, I had to take a breath because that
- 14:43Speaker 1: is such a weighty, weighty experience. And something I have
- 14:49Speaker 1: dedicated myself to and and think about constantly is what
- 14:54Speaker 1: are the barriers to healing that women of color face,
- 14:57Speaker 1: that men of color face. What are the barriers to healing?
- 14:59Speaker 1: Why is it that our quote unquote healing doesn't seem
- 15:04Speaker 1: to come with as much ease as counterparts, especially within
- 15:08Speaker 1: the wellness industry, right, especially in some of the programs
- 15:12Speaker 1: where it's like, you know, do yoga, now you're healed,
- 15:15Speaker 1: and if you're not healed, that's your fault. It's because
- 15:17Speaker 1: you are blocking yourself, or it's because you're you know,
- 15:20Speaker 1: playing the victim role or doing all of these things.
- 15:23Speaker 1: And it's like, God, like, the hurdles to remembering our
- 15:28Speaker 1: worth and wholeness are just never ending sometimes and so yeah,
- 15:35Speaker 1: and so me having that lived experience and also really
- 15:40Speaker 1: seeing how both the psychology feel, the wellness field, the
- 15:44Speaker 1: healing fields, that they really don't get to the roots
- 15:50Speaker 1: of what we experience as black Indigenous people of color
- 15:54Speaker 1: really sort of for me cemented that of like this feel,
- 16:00Speaker 1: although I have dedicated a lifetime to it, I am
- 16:04Speaker 1: seeing the ways that that it doesn't help us, That
- 16:07Speaker 1: it actually blames us for for what we are not
- 16:11Speaker 1: even responsible for, right like the things that have historically
- 16:16Speaker 1: been done to us, and it's really not addressing that
- 16:20Speaker 1: and is actually telling us, especially through the psychology field,
- 16:24Speaker 1: through diagnoses and labels, that it's actually your problem, right Like,
- 16:30Speaker 1: all of this this anxiety that black Indigenous people of
- 16:34Speaker 1: color feel, even depression at the root of it, I
- 16:38Speaker 1: believe is colonial intergenerational trauma, but that doesn't become addressed.
- 16:44Speaker 1: And what we tend to do is we say, we
- 16:46Speaker 1: give people this diagnosis that you're anxious or you're depressed,
- 16:50Speaker 1: and people walk around believing that that that's something that
- 16:54Speaker 1: I have to carry my whole life, and it almost
- 16:57Speaker 1: feels like a death sentence rather and really empowering them
- 17:02Speaker 1: and letting them know it's actually not your fault or
- 17:05Speaker 1: feeling this way, and actually what you're feeling is an
- 17:09Speaker 1: appropriate reaction to what has been done to your your lineage,
- 17:14Speaker 1: to what is still being done to you. Wow. So
- 17:18Speaker 1: much of the work that you do, in the way
- 17:20Speaker 1: in which you've used your depth of knowledge and education
- 17:24Speaker 1: is to fully embody in the space of ancestral healing
- 17:29Speaker 1: and really rooting in indigenous practice in service to our
- 17:33Speaker 1: healing and our wholeness and our growth. How does one
- 17:37Speaker 1: even begin to connect with their ancestors? What does that
- 17:41Speaker 1: look like? What was your call to the wild where
- 17:44Speaker 1: you saw another another road to be of service? Yeah? So,
- 17:51Speaker 1: my when my life imploded, when I lost everything, And
- 17:57Speaker 1: I think that's really important because at that time it
- 18:03Speaker 1: was everything that I thought, who I thought I was right.
- 18:07Speaker 1: I was a professor, I was a psychologist. I was
- 18:10Speaker 1: even the person that people would come to to help write,
- 18:14Speaker 1: like if anyone had a problem, come, I'll take care
- 18:18Speaker 1: of your problems, all feel things for you, Like I
- 18:21Speaker 1: was that person. And when I developed a disability, all
- 18:24Speaker 1: of that was gone. I couldn't do any of it.
- 18:28Speaker 1: And it's really that experience of I want to say,
- 18:32Speaker 1: emptying yourself, emptying yourself of who you've who you thought
- 18:38Speaker 1: you were, who you've been told to be right that
- 18:42Speaker 1: that being a clear channel, I think is really important
- 18:48Speaker 1: and it sounds beautiful to be a clear channel, but
- 18:52Speaker 1: there's also a lot of pain and a lot of
- 18:55Speaker 1: grief in that. And I don't enough of the pain
- 19:03Speaker 1: and the grief that is so important, all of the
- 19:07Speaker 1: shadow work that is necessary and being deprogrammed. Let's sit here,
- 19:12Speaker 1: because this is a piece that people need to know
- 19:15Speaker 1: about love and light. It's not just puppies and rainbows,
- 19:20Speaker 1: you know, I think personally my path to the level
- 19:23Speaker 1: of joy I have access to right now and the
- 19:26Speaker 1: level of inner love that I so savor about myself
- 19:32Speaker 1: in this moment, it was excruciating coming here, just frightening excruciating,
- 19:41Speaker 1: god awful. You know, you are constantly holding a mirror
- 19:46Speaker 1: to yourself, to your behavior, to your perspectives, to your traumas,
- 19:52Speaker 1: and you're making the conscious choice to look at them,
- 19:57Speaker 1: to stay with them until they are ugged enough that
- 20:01Speaker 1: you've dissolved them in your arms. Yes, yes, and that
- 20:06Speaker 1: is so important. And so what I always share with
- 20:09Speaker 1: the women of color that I work with is compassion
- 20:13Speaker 1: is so important. Self compassion through through that journey because
- 20:19Speaker 1: you you, there will be moments where you do judge
- 20:22Speaker 1: yourself and where you feel horrible about yourself and and
- 20:26Speaker 1: and the world already does that for you. The world
- 20:29Speaker 1: already judges you enough as a black, indigenous woman of color.
- 20:33Speaker 1: And so if we can give self compassion, right radical
- 20:38Speaker 1: self love, then we will be able to face that pain.
- 20:42Speaker 1: Then we will be able to grieve. And and so yeah,
- 20:47Speaker 1: that that grieving that pain is so important. I would
- 20:50Speaker 1: not be here had I not experience that, you know,
- 20:54Speaker 1: just really crying, like bawling my eyes out of like
- 20:59Speaker 1: all of the things that I thought I was that
- 21:01Speaker 1: that my mom and I worked so hard for. I
- 21:04Speaker 1: was raised by a single mom, and so so much
- 21:07Speaker 1: of my identity was wrapped up in what I did
- 21:10Speaker 1: for other people and how I can help for other people,
- 21:14Speaker 1: and now I can't do any of that, Like who
- 21:17Speaker 1: am I right? And And actually why did I feel
- 21:21Speaker 1: that I had to do that? Why did I feel
- 21:24Speaker 1: like I had to take care of other people and
- 21:26Speaker 1: not just you know, make space for myself. Where did
- 21:29Speaker 1: I learn that? Or did my mother learn that all
- 21:32Speaker 1: of that was so painful to face but also so
- 21:36Speaker 1: necessary to be able to get here? Yeah? Yeah, How
- 21:41Speaker 1: does one begin to face their pain if it seems
- 21:45Speaker 1: like a mountain that is just unclaimable, or how do
- 21:49Speaker 1: they even identify why they feel about themselves the way
- 21:53Speaker 1: that they do. I think that's actually the first step
- 21:55Speaker 1: before we can observe our pain. Mm hmm, yeah, I
- 22:00Speaker 1: think so. This is another reason why I felt called
- 22:04Speaker 1: to leave the psychology. Feel is because sometimes we get
- 22:07Speaker 1: in our head too much, and we and and so
- 22:12Speaker 1: it's related to colonialism and you know, being analytical and
- 22:19Speaker 1: just being in our mind. And yes it's important to reflect,
- 22:23Speaker 1: that is medicine, but also we have a tendency to
- 22:28Speaker 1: to overthink things and to analyze things instead of feeling them.
- 22:36Speaker 1: And so if if folks can just let themselves feel
- 22:41Speaker 1: give themselves permission to feel what what is already bubbling
- 22:45Speaker 1: up right without any judgment, right, and even maybe putting.
- 22:53Speaker 1: For me, music is very healing. So for me it
- 22:56Speaker 1: was like, Okay, I'm feeling this, and I mean to
- 23:00Speaker 1: let this go. I need to release this. I'm going
- 23:02Speaker 1: to listen to my favorite music, to the music that
- 23:05Speaker 1: I know really hits my soul and holds my heart.
- 23:09Speaker 1: And and so even starting there and just allowing that
- 23:13Speaker 1: release it's it's a Catharsis right, and and not not
- 23:18Speaker 1: trying to explain it at first, just allowing it. Yeah. Yeah,
- 23:24Speaker 1: being with yourself, learning how to be with you and
- 23:27Speaker 1: how to experience yourself in the fullness of who you are,
- 23:30Speaker 1: which is the perceived good choices, the perceived bad choices,
- 23:34Speaker 1: some of the shame that we can go of for
- 23:37Speaker 1: past behavior decision, some of the harm we can go
- 23:40Speaker 1: of that you know we incurred or endured. Um. Yeah.
- 23:45Speaker 1: And I think why people don't feel like they can
- 23:48Speaker 1: be with it is because they do judge it. They
- 23:51Speaker 1: feel like I'm incapable of holding this, or I'm too
- 23:56Speaker 1: scared to face this, or I'm going to be alone
- 23:59Speaker 1: when I when I experienced this and all of that
- 24:03Speaker 1: is for me is untrue because we are very resilient peoples.
- 24:09Speaker 1: And also we can call on spirit to be with
- 24:12Speaker 1: us when we're experiencing that. We can call our our
- 24:16Speaker 1: healed ancestors to be with us. And even if they
- 24:20Speaker 1: don't have a practice and they don't know what that means, like,
- 24:23Speaker 1: if you set that intention, they will come to you.
- 24:27Speaker 1: And for me, that's how I started to to come
- 24:31Speaker 1: back to my indigenous roots is through that period of
- 24:36Speaker 1: really shedding, of being cleared of everything and really calling
- 24:41Speaker 1: them like I I can't do this myself, I need
- 24:45Speaker 1: your help, and really just asking for their guidance and
- 24:49Speaker 1: and allowing them to show it, believing that they will
- 24:52Speaker 1: show up, you know. And so yes, there are rituals
- 24:55Speaker 1: and all these things that they will learn along the way,
- 24:58Speaker 1: but it can be so semple as calling them in.
- 25:03Speaker 1: I love that so so so so much. That has
- 25:07Speaker 1: added such a layer of protection and magic and abundance
- 25:13Speaker 1: to my life. And doing that and you know, part
- 25:15Speaker 1: of my mindful path and my path of well being.
- 25:18Speaker 1: You know. It started really more so in the traditional
- 25:21Speaker 1: mindfulness sense about ten years ago, which was through a
- 25:25Speaker 1: meditation retreat and learning how to meditate, which was the
- 25:28Speaker 1: game changer for me, and then really in the last
- 25:31Speaker 1: couple of years, but more so in the last year,
- 25:35Speaker 1: you know, in the UM, I said, so all of
- 25:40Speaker 1: this is great, but now it's time for more because
- 25:42Speaker 1: life is wild, and so for me, that kind of
- 25:45Speaker 1: incestral practice started as lighting a candle, lighting a stage,
- 25:52Speaker 1: you know, um, lighting some stage or copol or Paulo Santo,
- 25:55Speaker 1: and I just said, like, this is an offering of
- 26:01Speaker 1: love and gratitude to my ancestors, everyone in my lineage,
- 26:05Speaker 1: please step forward. I invite you into my life. And
- 26:09Speaker 1: from there is where I mean just magic has been
- 26:13Speaker 1: unfolding for me so much, so much divine protection into
- 26:17Speaker 1: such a challenging year. But also I slowly to your point,
- 26:22Speaker 1: like really it effortlessly expands. You will intuitively be told
- 26:27Speaker 1: what to do next. So it went from lighting that
- 26:30Speaker 1: candle to now I'm calling forward specific things because they
- 26:34Speaker 1: planted that seat of intention. I'm also inviting in everybody.
- 26:38Speaker 1: So I'm like, Archangel Michael, come through, Archangel Rafael Rasayel
- 26:42Speaker 1: come through to the house. Like I'm I'm asking everyone
- 26:45Speaker 1: to step forward for my highest good um and really
- 26:49Speaker 1: asking to meet my highest self most deeply. And I
- 26:53Speaker 1: think we you know, when when people read about the
- 26:55Speaker 1: highest self and we talk about it, you know, I
- 26:57Speaker 1: think a way to tangibly understand it is, is it's
- 27:01Speaker 1: the best version of you, you on your best day,
- 27:03Speaker 1: when you're making the best choices and you're feeling really
- 27:06Speaker 1: good about yourself and trying to glimpse and live in
- 27:08Speaker 1: that all the time. But on more like a metaphysical level, energetically,
- 27:15Speaker 1: it's it's much deeper than that. It's really the the
- 27:18Speaker 1: larger essence of your soul, the pure light being that
- 27:23Speaker 1: is a piece of you, um, that is you that
- 27:26Speaker 1: shared some of itself with the earth to learn yes.
- 27:30Speaker 1: And and that's the part of that's the part that's
- 27:34Speaker 1: missing in psychology for sure, that that almost psychology, I
- 27:41Speaker 1: want to say, shuns and that all that never resonated
- 27:46Speaker 1: with me, Like, yes, there's a space for like psycho spirituality,
- 27:51Speaker 1: but but at the at the academic level, it's something
- 27:55Speaker 1: that's that's judged and that never resonated for me. It
- 27:59Speaker 1: felt like a like a spiritual prison, that's what I say.
- 28:03Speaker 1: You know, My my years in academia felt like like
- 28:06Speaker 1: a spiritual prison, like I always had to hide this
- 28:09Speaker 1: spirit part of myself, and so really it was my
- 28:13Speaker 1: my ancestors and spirit calling me back, like you don't
- 28:17Speaker 1: fit there anymore. You have you know, a higher purpose
- 28:20Speaker 1: and and it really is about just opening that door
- 28:26Speaker 1: and and really a remembrance because we we have been
- 28:32Speaker 1: so disconnected as black indigenous people, as of color, We've
- 28:35Speaker 1: been disconnected violently from from source, from our ancestors, from
- 28:41Speaker 1: our indigenous beliefs. But as soon as you can can
- 28:46Speaker 1: intentionally call them in, they come. They come to you,
- 28:51Speaker 1: and they will speak to you, and they will give
- 28:53Speaker 1: you messages, and they will sort of reveal to you
- 28:57Speaker 1: the parts of you that's still in healing, or the
- 29:01Speaker 1: parts of you that you can't see or that you
- 29:03Speaker 1: don't believe in. They will, they will encourage you, and
- 29:07Speaker 1: they will speak to you. I think a way to
- 29:11Speaker 1: ground this a little bit for anyone that happens to
- 29:14Speaker 1: be listening that this is feeling really ethereal or out
- 29:17Speaker 1: of your grasp. You know the concept of God giving
- 29:22Speaker 1: us free will. This is how I really have deepened
- 29:26Speaker 1: my own experience with it. God gave us free will,
- 29:30Speaker 1: not just so we could just be making you know,
- 29:32Speaker 1: all of our choices, which is important, you know, and
- 29:34Speaker 1: it's part of the human experience. But it's so we
- 29:37Speaker 1: could cultivate the ability to actively seek him out when
- 29:41Speaker 1: we need him for his divine intervention and his grace.
- 29:45Speaker 1: And I think the way that I've experienced it with ancestors,
- 29:48Speaker 1: with angels, with all of the energies, it's they're waiting.
- 29:53Speaker 1: They're waiting for you to call upon them. They can't
- 29:56Speaker 1: they can't intervene just yet, you know, be because they
- 30:01Speaker 1: have their rules. We have, you know, our earthly rules.
- 30:04Speaker 1: And also we can't hear them until we seek them out.
- 30:10Speaker 1: It's so much harder to hear or see them, or
- 30:12Speaker 1: or have that divine influence without seeking it out. And
- 30:15Speaker 1: so it's that experience of when you call out to it,
- 30:18Speaker 1: when you set the intention to connect with it, that's
- 30:22Speaker 1: when it'll start showing up and unfolding in really beautiful
- 30:25Speaker 1: ways in your practices. Yeah, and so as you were
- 30:28Speaker 1: saying that, what I heard was like, they're waiting there,
- 30:31Speaker 1: but you have to hire them, you have to come in,
- 30:34Speaker 1: you know otherwise right that they're respecting your path and
- 30:39Speaker 1: their witnessing, and they know that they can support you,
- 30:44Speaker 1: but you have to hire them. I love that. Yeah, yeah,
- 30:48Speaker 1: invite them over come in. So Dr Rocio, you you
- 30:53Speaker 1: are a medicine woman and you're a seer. Expand on
- 30:57Speaker 1: what that is and what that variances. Mm hmm. So,
- 31:04Speaker 1: So I was born with the ability to sort of
- 31:08Speaker 1: see the spirit realm, meaning I receive visions, I hear
- 31:14Speaker 1: things from the spirit realm. Um. Sometimes I just know
- 31:18Speaker 1: things that I know that I there's no way that
- 31:20Speaker 1: I would know um. But for most of my life
- 31:25Speaker 1: I did sort of push it away because I didn't
- 31:28Speaker 1: understand it UM. And so because of this, I come
- 31:32Speaker 1: from a long line of healers from both my maternal
- 31:35Speaker 1: and paternal lineages, but because of colonization, the most recent
- 31:40Speaker 1: UH generations sort of UM hid these things because there
- 31:46Speaker 1: was sort of this this shame right that UM. I
- 31:50Speaker 1: grew up in the Catholic Church, and so that was
- 31:52Speaker 1: sort of discouraged, right that you know, just you know,
- 31:56Speaker 1: not to connect to yourself, but to a power outside
- 32:01Speaker 1: of yourself. And so that was very much ingrained in
- 32:04Speaker 1: in my mom and my grandma. Even though they have
- 32:07Speaker 1: the same abilities, they sort of hit them. And so
- 32:11Speaker 1: I learned the same thing. And so it was through
- 32:15Speaker 1: all of this experience that all of that came back
- 32:17Speaker 1: and that I began to embrace it um and that
- 32:21Speaker 1: that I also took the path of a medicine woman,
- 32:24Speaker 1: meaning that healing comes through, yes, the earthly realm, but
- 32:34Speaker 1: also the spirit realm, of integrating both our human experience
- 32:41Speaker 1: and our spiritual experience, and also connecting very deeply to
- 32:47Speaker 1: the medicine of Mother Earth, that we are her children
- 32:52Speaker 1: and that we can access her her medicine through the elements,
- 32:57Speaker 1: the wind, the water, right, all the five are all
- 33:00Speaker 1: of these things, and so it's really an integration, an
- 33:06Speaker 1: integration of all that is available to us, and really
- 33:10Speaker 1: working with people in a way that honors them as
- 33:15Speaker 1: whole beings and so not in in the way that
- 33:18Speaker 1: that holistic, the holistic wellness capitalist field speaks about right,
- 33:23Speaker 1: but really you as a whole being, who are you
- 33:27Speaker 1: here right to be? What is your sole purpose? What
- 33:32Speaker 1: gifts were you given to bring? Right? And also what
- 33:38Speaker 1: is what what is your spiritual medicine? Right? And how
- 33:42Speaker 1: can we integrate that? M m ah. That's so beautiful
- 33:48Speaker 1: a conversation that's happening quite a bit in the world
- 33:51Speaker 1: and I think with many of us who are doing
- 33:54Speaker 1: this work or seeking this work, it's the understanding and
- 33:59Speaker 1: the desire to heal family lineage, you know, to really
- 34:05Speaker 1: extend the healing that we're doing in our body, minds
- 34:09Speaker 1: and hearts in the hopes that it will go backwards
- 34:14Speaker 1: in time and heal that lineage, go forward in time
- 34:18Speaker 1: and be the change. You know. I think a lot
- 34:22Speaker 1: of us are awakened to the understanding wherever you're at
- 34:27Speaker 1: on your journey, that you know, the quote unquote buck
- 34:30Speaker 1: can stop with you, that there is opportunity to fully
- 34:34Speaker 1: receive and hold space for the amount of trauma that
- 34:38Speaker 1: has existed throughout our human history, throughout our lineage, and
- 34:46Speaker 1: alcomize it so that it does not affect future generations.
- 34:51Speaker 1: Can you speak to what that is, what is ancestral
- 34:53Speaker 1: lineage healing and how can we start thinking of that
- 34:57Speaker 1: more and applying it? Mm hmm. Yeah. So the first
- 35:01Speaker 1: thing that's coming through is is really developing a connection
- 35:06Speaker 1: to the land. You know, I think for me that
- 35:09Speaker 1: has been instrumental of of because so I'm first generation
- 35:15Speaker 1: daughter of quote unquote immigrants and Mexican and for much
- 35:20Speaker 1: of my experience and I think This is the experience
- 35:22Speaker 1: of any person of color living in diaspora, meaning that
- 35:27Speaker 1: you were taken from your lands, right, that you you
- 35:30Speaker 1: were not born in your motherlands. That experience of diaspora
- 35:36Speaker 1: makes you feel disconnected, like on a soul level, it
- 35:41Speaker 1: makes you feel disconnected and so connecting to the land,
- 35:46Speaker 1: giving offerings to the land, talking to the land as
- 35:50Speaker 1: she as she is your mother, you know, allowing her
- 35:54Speaker 1: to hold you. All of that is so important to
- 35:59Speaker 1: sort of open up that that path and and to
- 36:04Speaker 1: to connect you. Right. It almost feels like the vision
- 36:06Speaker 1: that I'm getting is like that umbilical cord with with
- 36:10Speaker 1: mother Earth, right, and like really opening that energetic channel
- 36:14Speaker 1: with her so that you you are no longer like floating,
- 36:18Speaker 1: because I think that's the experience of so many black
- 36:21Speaker 1: Indigenous people of color, and we call it anxiety in psychology,
- 36:26Speaker 1: but it's this sort of spiritual floating that I'm disconnected
- 36:30Speaker 1: from my motherland, I'm disconnected from my ancestral lineage. And
- 36:35Speaker 1: so for me, that is that is why I do
- 36:38Speaker 1: work in the colonial healing, because it really is that
- 36:43Speaker 1: that umbilical cord you know, of of healing that and
- 36:47Speaker 1: really being connected to both the land and our ancestors.
- 36:53Speaker 1: Mm hmm. That's so beautiful. That reminds me of when
- 36:57Speaker 1: a girlfriend of mine was sharing that went on a
- 37:00Speaker 1: trip to Africa and it felt like she was home. Yes,
- 37:05Speaker 1: And I think what that kind of even more deeply,
- 37:08Speaker 1: what that says to me is not not necessarily I mean,
- 37:11Speaker 1: obviously ancestrally, it's a remembrance of a home that you
- 37:16Speaker 1: had in in another lifetime. But also it just came
- 37:20Speaker 1: forward for me, is this idea that by returning there
- 37:23Speaker 1: you were able to dissolve the trauma of the people
- 37:27Speaker 1: that were taken from there because you returned there. Yeah,
- 37:31Speaker 1: you transformed that pain. You as your full embodied self
- 37:36Speaker 1: with sovereignty and liberation, returned to a place um that
- 37:43Speaker 1: was very grieved and you brought your energy and your
- 37:47Speaker 1: light to it. M mmmm. And I feel so much
- 37:50Speaker 1: in my heart as you're saying that, because it really is,
- 37:54Speaker 1: it really is a spiritual remembrance. Even the fact that
- 37:58Speaker 1: people feel called to their motherland, that's their ancestors calling
- 38:03Speaker 1: them back. It doesn't just appear out of nowhere. It's
- 38:07Speaker 1: your ancestors calling you back, and anyone listening. If you
- 38:11Speaker 1: are feeling something in your body, the energy is something
- 38:15Speaker 1: in your heart that that is ancestral healing, right, that
- 38:20Speaker 1: it is in our dna. It is on a cellular level,
- 38:24Speaker 1: right healing that we must do to reclaim our power.
- 38:29Speaker 1: Because our story as black Indigenous people of color is
- 38:32Speaker 1: not just pain, right, Like I think we sort of
- 38:35Speaker 1: get caught in that loop that becomes harmful, that we
- 38:39Speaker 1: just speak about the pain, that we wear the pain
- 38:42Speaker 1: as a padge of honor, that it becomes our identity.
- 38:46Speaker 1: And that's not what the colonial healing is, right, And
- 38:50Speaker 1: and that's not what our ancestors want for us, right.
- 38:54Speaker 1: Our ancestors dreamed us into being, not so that we
- 38:58Speaker 1: can survive, not so that we can push through, not
- 39:02Speaker 1: so that we can you know, be the strong ones.
- 39:06Speaker 1: They drinked us into being to be sovereign, to be free,
- 39:11Speaker 1: right to dream, to thrive. Right. And so it really
- 39:16Speaker 1: is on a cellular level, you returning to that place
- 39:21Speaker 1: where we were pre colonization, right before they told us
- 39:27Speaker 1: who we were, who were we who were we meant
- 39:30Speaker 1: to be? And so it's really repairing that on an
- 39:33Speaker 1: energetic level, on a spiritual level, And what I want
- 39:37Speaker 1: to say to people is that yes, these words may
- 39:40Speaker 1: sound very like esoteric and ethereal, but it really is
- 39:46Speaker 1: just as simple as setting the intention to do it.
- 39:53Speaker 1: Let's take a quick break. We'll be right back. I
- 40:10Speaker 1: know some people listening right now are probably like, Okay,
- 40:12Speaker 1: they're talking about a lot of things I'm not fully
- 40:14Speaker 1: familiar with. How many books do I have to read
- 40:17Speaker 1: to know this stuff? And it is so much simpler
- 40:19Speaker 1: than that. None, none, none. You can set the intention
- 40:24Speaker 1: even something that's simple and I and I've shared this
- 40:27Speaker 1: um on this show before, some soul work, but even
- 40:30Speaker 1: even saying out loud during your day, God, please show
- 40:34Speaker 1: me the truth of who I am. Please show me
- 40:37Speaker 1: the deepest, the deepest truth of my path. And it's
- 40:41Speaker 1: the same thing with this setting the intention and just
- 40:43Speaker 1: saying you know, I my intention is to dissolve any
- 40:47Speaker 1: barriers I have up to my own healing. My intentions
- 40:51Speaker 1: are to connect with my ancestral lineage. Yes, yes, right?
- 40:57Speaker 1: And and why is that so? I just want to
- 41:00Speaker 1: backtrack a little bit that the reason why we don't believe,
- 41:05Speaker 1: if people are still questioning it, the reason why we
- 41:07Speaker 1: don't believe our intention is that powerful is because of
- 41:11Speaker 1: the programming. Because we've been taught to believe that we
- 41:16Speaker 1: need other people to heal us, right, that we need
- 41:19Speaker 1: a medical doctor, that we need a psychologist, that we
- 41:23Speaker 1: need a professor, all of these things right, And yes,
- 41:26Speaker 1: to some extent that is true. But also we are
- 41:31Speaker 1: powerful beings and the medicine is in us and we
- 41:37Speaker 1: just have to activate it, right. And so that is
- 41:41Speaker 1: very countercultural because we've been taught take this pill right,
- 41:46Speaker 1: and this pill something outside of yourself is going to
- 41:50Speaker 1: fix you and you don't have to do anything but
- 41:52Speaker 1: receive it right. And that is actually the opposite of
- 41:57Speaker 1: what healing is. Right. It's you, you setting an intention
- 42:03Speaker 1: right and activating that healing within you. That's what's setting
- 42:09Speaker 1: an intention means. And on a spirit level, all of
- 42:13Speaker 1: that right, like guides, spirits, ancestors, it is always available
- 42:20Speaker 1: to you. And setting the intention opens up that sacred
- 42:24Speaker 1: space and it it has. If people are open to that,
- 42:29Speaker 1: then they will feel that energy. They will feel like
- 42:33Speaker 1: the energy of someone hugging them or someone being beside them, right.
- 42:39Speaker 1: And and so then it's just believing that and calling
- 42:42Speaker 1: it any more. I have experienced that so deeply in
- 42:47Speaker 1: my life, especially in this last year, and it has
- 42:51Speaker 1: been one of the most profound joys and greatest gifts
- 42:56Speaker 1: to feel like I'm walking like I I truly feel
- 42:59Speaker 1: like I'm walking into a room with this spiritual army
- 43:04Speaker 1: behind me. Everywhere I go. I feel shrouded and protected
- 43:08Speaker 1: and surrounded. Which is not to say that I haven't
- 43:11Speaker 1: actually been faced with some of the darkest and most
- 43:14Speaker 1: difficult challenges of my life, because very much so I
- 43:17Speaker 1: have this year. Um, but there's it's a different lens
- 43:21Speaker 1: that I'm experiencing it with now. It's a lens of
- 43:23Speaker 1: just knowing I'm equipped for this moment of my life
- 43:27Speaker 1: and that I don't have to worry about anything. Abundance
- 43:31Speaker 1: is my birthright. Protection is my birthright. You know, I
- 43:35Speaker 1: came to this earth to experience. But that doesn't mean
- 43:38Speaker 1: that I have to be broken or harmed to do that. Yes, yes,
- 43:43Speaker 1: And and so then that brings me back to the
- 43:46Speaker 1: pain that we were speaking of as back into Dinner's
- 43:48Speaker 1: people of color, that we get we get so comfortable
- 43:52Speaker 1: in the pain, like almost and then because it's familiar,
- 43:57Speaker 1: right like pain and discomfort for many people is their
- 44:02Speaker 1: default experience, that's their normal. So when there is too
- 44:05Speaker 1: much joy or you're feeling even a swell in your
- 44:09Speaker 1: chest of anything joyous or different, or when someone is
- 44:14Speaker 1: nice to you even or shares a smile with you,
- 44:17Speaker 1: you feel that you can't trust it, that that's not
- 44:20Speaker 1: actually real because your foundation of what your quote unquote
- 44:24Speaker 1: normal is has been dysfunction and so dismantling that. Yeah, yes,
- 44:31Speaker 1: I just feel that heaviness in my heart because because
- 44:34Speaker 1: there's so many black indigenous people of color in that
- 44:39Speaker 1: pain and comfortable in it and almost view it as
- 44:44Speaker 1: like like a good thing, I want to say, and
- 44:48Speaker 1: and and that's when they become complicit in their own oppression.
- 44:53Speaker 1: And I don't say that to judge. I say that
- 44:57Speaker 1: from a loving place, but we do be I'm complicit
- 45:01Speaker 1: in our own oppression when we allow that pain to
- 45:05Speaker 1: define us. Mm, we allow that pain to become our identity. Yes, yes,
- 45:14Speaker 1: if you're listening right now and you're saying to yourself, perhaps, yeah,
- 45:18Speaker 1: but you don't know my story. You don't know how
- 45:22Speaker 1: hurt that I've been, you don't know what happened to me.
- 45:25Speaker 1: Of course, of course, this is who I've become. I
- 45:29Speaker 1: so hear that. I get it. I get it, and
- 45:33Speaker 1: I am sorry. But there is opportunity to not limit
- 45:37Speaker 1: yourself by acknowledging it and allowing it to be dissolved
- 45:41Speaker 1: by seeking joy. It doesn't mean it's untrue. I think
- 45:45Speaker 1: so often when we do survive things, something that comes
- 45:49Speaker 1: forward for us is that we survived it, so now
- 45:52Speaker 1: we have to carry it and it has to be
- 45:55Speaker 1: the narrative of who we are and why we are,
- 45:58Speaker 1: And there's opportunity be for that not to happen. I
- 46:01Speaker 1: think a great way to start practicing how to live
- 46:06Speaker 1: your life without the weight of the ways that you
- 46:10Speaker 1: were harmed is to restructure the way you share yourself.
- 46:14Speaker 1: And so, for example, if you want to share some
- 46:17Speaker 1: of who you are in your story, practicing not telling
- 46:21Speaker 1: all the potentially horrifying elements that then engage that other
- 46:25Speaker 1: person in shock, that then feeds the knowing nous that
- 46:29Speaker 1: your identity is wrapped in pain. And so it could
- 46:32Speaker 1: be like instead of saying well, when I you know,
- 46:34Speaker 1: well this and this, this and this, this, this this
- 46:37Speaker 1: happened to me, it could be you know, practicing and
- 46:40Speaker 1: just playing with saying I had a really challenging upbringing,
- 46:45Speaker 1: I had a childhood that really lent itself to me
- 46:48Speaker 1: feeling quite alone. And because of that, it led me
- 46:54Speaker 1: to be this person right now in this moment, just
- 46:56Speaker 1: beginning to play with our narratives and play with our
- 46:59Speaker 1: stories and what pieces can still convey who we are
- 47:04Speaker 1: and why we are, but without a lot of the
- 47:07Speaker 1: details that can keep us stuck. M m yeah, because
- 47:11Speaker 1: then we rewire. We're programming our brain for pain, right,
- 47:17Speaker 1: Like we're we're wiring our brain to be comfortable in
- 47:20Speaker 1: the pain. And and so that's when we don't can't
- 47:25Speaker 1: shift out of it energetically, right, And so we're not
- 47:28Speaker 1: saying to spiritually bypass all of that pain. Of course
- 47:32Speaker 1: you need, you need to heal, and you need to
- 47:34Speaker 1: process it, but to not be stuck in that, to
- 47:38Speaker 1: not allow what I say, to not allow the colonial
- 47:42Speaker 1: pain to define you, because then the oppressor wins. Then
- 47:46Speaker 1: then you're still playing their game by being stuck in
- 47:50Speaker 1: the pain that they inflicted upon you. Right, And so
- 47:54Speaker 1: this this is not who and so this is my
- 47:57Speaker 1: work is to like for this is a remembering remembering
- 48:01Speaker 1: that our ancestors were not always people that were in pain.
- 48:07Speaker 1: Are there was a time where our ancestors were already free,
- 48:11Speaker 1: like you know, like we need to get back to
- 48:13Speaker 1: that energy and that's ancestral healing. Ah yeah, oh so beautiful,
- 48:22Speaker 1: Dr Rocio. How can people connect with you and what
- 48:25Speaker 1: are some of the offerings that they can be a
- 48:27Speaker 1: part of. I have a few friends that are involved
- 48:29Speaker 1: in your courses and in your teaching, and they are
- 48:33Speaker 1: just so blown away by you. I mean, you have
- 48:36Speaker 1: just like lifted the veil for them in such such
- 48:40Speaker 1: a powerful way. Can you share a little bit about
- 48:43Speaker 1: how people can get more connected with you and really
- 48:45Speaker 1: walk this path with you? Thank you. Yeah, it's my
- 48:49Speaker 1: honor to do this work and to serve as a
- 48:52Speaker 1: vessel for this work. Um, if folks want to so,
- 48:57Speaker 1: I'm very active on Instagram, so at Dr Rosalis Messa. UM.
- 49:03Speaker 1: I have a community there where I share a lot
- 49:05Speaker 1: of my work to make it accessible. I show up
- 49:08Speaker 1: um thursdays live Thursday nights after my little one goes
- 49:12Speaker 1: to sleep. I do lives there for folks that just
- 49:15Speaker 1: want to learn about my work. Um. I also have
- 49:19Speaker 1: a membership community, the De Colonial Healing Collective, and I
- 49:24Speaker 1: say that the community is for the people that are
- 49:28Speaker 1: too de colonial for the spiritual world and too spiritual
- 49:32Speaker 1: for the de colonial world. It's really existing at those
- 49:35Speaker 1: intersections UM and and for me, I just love the
- 49:40Speaker 1: the intersections because that's where newness comes in. That's where
- 49:44Speaker 1: we invite the new earth. UM. So I have that
- 49:48Speaker 1: membership community UM and then I do UM spiritual meditations
- 49:52Speaker 1: once a month where I channel people can ask me
- 49:56Speaker 1: questions I channel UM. I do energy healings once a
- 49:59Speaker 1: month for folks that are outside of the community as
- 50:02Speaker 1: well UM and so all of that they can UM
- 50:06Speaker 1: take a look at either on Instagram or my website
- 50:09Speaker 1: dr ros dot com. M so beautiful. I think the
- 50:14Speaker 1: homework I'd like to offer everyone today before we close
- 50:17Speaker 1: out the show. Your soul work for the week will
- 50:20Speaker 1: be to practice inviting in your ancestral lineage. So I
- 50:26Speaker 1: really and if you need to get a notebook, grab
- 50:28Speaker 1: it and write this down or just rewind when you
- 50:31Speaker 1: have the space and the opportunity. But I want everyone
- 50:35Speaker 1: to get a candle. I want you to at the
- 50:40Speaker 1: end of your night before bed, dim some lights, put
- 50:43Speaker 1: on some music, maybe light a few candles, maybe have
- 50:47Speaker 1: some instances burning, and then sit down on the floor,
- 50:51Speaker 1: take a really deep breath in through your nose, side
- 50:58Speaker 1: it out through your mouth and then with a lighter
- 51:03Speaker 1: or match in hand, hold up an unlit candle, close
- 51:08Speaker 1: your eyes and say, I'm lighting this candle as an
- 51:14Speaker 1: offering of love and gratitude to my ancestors. I invite
- 51:19Speaker 1: you into my life. My intention is to get to
- 51:23Speaker 1: know you and to experience you. And then just let
- 51:27Speaker 1: that candle burn for a bit or burn all night
- 51:30Speaker 1: however long feels good, and just start slowly observing after
- 51:35Speaker 1: that day, and I would really suggest doing it every day.
- 51:39Speaker 1: Make it part of your routine at night or in
- 51:41Speaker 1: the morning, and just start noticing. Just hold space to
- 51:45Speaker 1: notice any shifts that may happen in an effortless way,
- 51:49Speaker 1: any new little bits of beauty and joy that you
- 51:53Speaker 1: can see and have access to, and let those kind
- 51:55Speaker 1: of just begin to plant the seed for you on
- 51:58Speaker 1: how you can grow and expand and your spiritual practices.
- 52:04Speaker 1: Thank you so much for joining me. Thank you for
- 52:06Speaker 1: the work that you do in the world. Thank you,
- 52:10Speaker 1: Thank you for your light or your spirits and for
- 52:14Speaker 1: all that you do, for all that you are, and
- 52:16Speaker 1: so appreciate you. Hey find me on social Let's connect
