- 0:00Baggler, baggler, baggler, baggler, baggler folks, you know what?
- 0:07I thought this episode was going to be relatively short, but it's not.
- 0:11It's going to be another banger.
- 0:13It's going to be another loaded episode.
- 0:16Okay, we have so much to talk about.
- 0:18We have so much to talk about.
- 0:22Oh my God.
- 0:24From the moment I woke up up until I finished doing the talking point for this episode,
- 0:31and it has been nothing but a whirlwind of news and baggler and more news and baggler
- 0:38and more news and baggler.
- 0:41And I told you this.
- 0:43I told you this as your baggler dominance.
- 0:45I told you that there was a good chance that there was going to be another baggler before
- 0:52this weekend.
- 0:53And guess what happened?
- 0:55It happened.
- 0:56It happened.
- 0:58See this is exactly why you have to listen to the greatest football podcast in the world
- 1:05because why?
- 1:07We said this a few days in advance and it happened.
- 1:11It did happen.
- 1:13But you know what?
- 1:14Let's, you know what?
- 1:15Let's get into the topic.
- 1:16So here we go.
- 1:17AJ Turrell, okay, gets paid.
- 1:20Okay.
- 1:21The Olympics and Gardner and Menchu have been named starters for their respective teams,
- 1:26right?
- 1:27Linval Joseph signs with the Cowboys.
- 1:29I know.
- 1:30Weird, right?
- 1:31Also, Baggler dominance predictions for both corners and receivers since there's a lot
- 1:36of things that are swirling right now, as well as the breaking news that literally just
- 1:40happened before I hit this record button.
- 1:43Jahan Dotson is going to the Eagles.
- 1:45Yeah.
- 1:46Yeah.
- 1:47Mm-hmm.
- 1:48Yep.
- 1:49And you're probably pulling over on 95 right now.
- 1:52You're probably hitting your steering wheel, crying, wondering what in the world is going
- 1:57on with the commanders.
- 1:58I don't know, but guess what?
- 2:00I have a prediction for that because why?
- 2:01I am your Baggler dominance.
- 2:03Okay.
- 2:04As well as we have to talk about the Steelers and Lions preview.
- 2:08Yes, we do have to talk about it because it is a team that everybody has been talking
- 2:12about lately.
- 2:13Okay.
- 2:14We have to talk about as well as responding and reacting to what Brian Flores has finally
- 2:20said about the whole tour situation.
- 2:23All of this and more.
- 2:25Okay.
- 2:26I know this is a long intro, but who cares about it because guess what?
- 2:28This is going to be a long episode.
- 2:30So who cares anyway?
- 2:32I am your host, your Baggler dominance, your chief, your chief.
- 2:38Okay.
- 2:39You time chief bag alert meteorologist.
- 2:45That's right.
- 2:46Me.
- 2:47Okay.
- 2:48As well as the GM who still isn't on the team right now, but he is able to predict things
- 2:54and they come to path.
- 2:55Just like how I said that there's going to be another backer.
- 2:58Just like I'm saying right now that brand now you because either going to get paid by
- 3:02the 49ers or traded by or before the chiefs and Ravens game.
- 3:08You heard it here for us on the 26th episode of the football junkies podcast.
- 3:12I am your host Kale who currently, as I'm going to say it again, is not on a team right
- 3:18now, but I'm looking at interviews.
- 3:20I don't know if I should go to the AFC North, AC West or the AFC South.
- 3:26I like the South, but guess what?
- 3:28Forget all that because you know what it's time.
- 3:30It's time.
- 3:31It is time.
- 3:32It is time.
- 3:33It is time to do what folks?
- 3:40Lock in.
- 3:51All right, folks, let's just get into everything.
- 4:11So corner for the Falcons.
- 4:13AJ Turrell has inked a four year 81 million dollar deal.
- 4:20He's making $65.8 million in total guarantees and he's making $20.2 million a year.
- 4:27Now when you look at his stats, his stats for last season, 11 past deflections, four
- 4:32tackle for losses and 34 tackles.
- 4:36So all in all pretty good stats.
- 4:38Of course, he didn't, his interception numbers wasn't there, but as far as everything else,
- 4:43it was definitely there.
- 4:44So all in all, great deal.
- 4:46Now, when we look at the total quarterback guarantee, as far as like the top four, you
- 4:53know, highest ones, we have to look at Denzel war with 71.25 million, Marlon Humphrey, 67.3,
- 5:01AJ Turrell just got there, 65.8 in Tyson Campbell, 53.4.
- 5:06Now when you look at it, you know, AJ Turrell is definitely one of those corners that, you
- 5:14know, is definitely a playmaker.
- 5:17This is a playmaker.
- 5:18This is someone that, you know, he can, he can, he can change the game.
- 5:24That's who AJ Turrell is.
- 5:25You're talking about someone who is going to go mono, mono with the number one receiver
- 5:30on the offense.
- 5:32That is who he is.
- 5:33And that is what he's been since coming into the league.
- 5:35Now, you know, as his career, as you know, progress, he does, he has gotten, you know,
- 5:41better when it comes to his coverage, better when it comes to just being, you know, somewhat
- 5:46of a foreign and a lot of receiver size.
- 5:48And he's definitely, you know, one of those corners that a lot of people talk about and
- 5:53give high praises to and give their flowers to.
- 5:55So all in all, I think it was a great situation.
- 6:00And you know, the Falcons have definitely done a lot of things, a lot of significant
- 6:04moves in this all season alone from getting her cousins and Michael Pennix to, you know,
- 6:10getting Justin Simmons, Jude on and now paying AJ Turrell.
- 6:13So I mean, all in all, a great, great, great, great, great situation, as well as getting
- 6:19Raheem Morris as well and making him the head coach as well.
- 6:23So, you know, this, this Falcons team, you know, looks, looks promising, looks very promising.
- 6:30I could probably make a strong case that in recent years, this is probably going to be
- 6:35the second best Falcons team that we've probably seen lately.
- 6:41And that's, that's, I mean, they're probably, they won't be as close as the Super Bowl team,
- 6:47you know, the ones that choked.
- 6:49I'm sorry, Falcons fans, I just had to do it.
- 6:52I just had to put that in there.
- 6:54I'm sorry.
- 6:55I'm sorry.
- 6:56I know you probably clicked off on the episode already.
- 6:58I'm sorry.
- 6:59Thank you.
- 7:00Thank you for listening.
- 7:01But, you know, this is a really good team.
- 7:03This is a really good team.
- 7:04I think they are definitely going to be competitive with the Buccaneers on who was going to win
- 7:09the division.
- 7:10I definitely believe that they could probably sneak into the wild card.
- 7:13I would not be surprised.
- 7:15And I don't think the Falcons are done.
- 7:17I think the Falcons are still going to try to, you know, patch up any other holes that
- 7:21they have on both sides of the ball and, you know, do whatever they need to do to be competitive
- 7:27because they're in a situation where they are tired of being the door mat, not only
- 7:31in their division, but in the league, right?
- 7:34A lot of times, you know, when a team has to go up against the Falcons, you're thinking,
- 7:39oh man, we don't got to worry about the Falcons, man.
- 7:43We about to go to Magic City, get some wings and whatnot, about to have a good time, you
- 7:48know, about to go here, there, everywhere, probably going to see the Migos, CTI, or,
- 7:53you know, whomever, you know what I mean?
- 7:55All those different types of things, right?
- 7:57But now, you know, you do have to worry about them.
- 8:01That defense, that's a potent defense right there.
- 8:03That offense, that offense is going to put up some numbers.
- 8:06I don't care where anyone says, you guys can crap on Kirk Cousins as much as you want,
- 8:11but the fact of the matter is, Kirk Cousins is a good situational quarterback.
- 8:17That's what he is.
- 8:18He is someone who he is going to do whatever he needs to do in order to win.
- 8:25That is who he is.
- 8:26He's not someone that's going to be flashy when it comes to his stats or, you know, his
- 8:31style of play and whatnot, but he is someone who is just going to get the job done, put
- 8:36the ball in the playmaker's hands and win the game.
- 8:40That is who Kirk Cousins is and that is why the Falcons, you know, gave him the deal if
- 8:45they gave him.
- 8:46So, all in all, I feel like it's a great situation all around, honestly.
- 8:50And then not to mention, you know, if the Falcons would have let Aji Terrell walk, that
- 8:55definitely would have put a massive hole on that team.
- 8:59So, you know, you just had to make sure and you had to lock them up and make sure that
- 9:03everything was good.
- 9:04Now, I can say this, I definitely was, I definitely had a hunch and I'm not saying this because
- 9:11I have sources or anything, but I definitely felt like there was something that was going
- 9:16to happen with the Falcons lately because they restructured who was it?
- 9:20Jake Matthews.
- 9:21One of their offensive linemen that just got a mega deal, they just restructured his
- 9:26deal in order to create some cat space.
- 9:30So that let me know that either one of two things were going to happen.
- 9:36Either they were going to pay Judon or Aji Terrell or they were going to go and try to
- 9:41make a move for another big time player and patch up the team as best as possible.
- 9:48And, you know, won't be whole, they paid Aji Terrell.
- 9:52So all in all, great signing, you know, great move for the Falcons, ruining for the Falcons
- 9:57and let's just see what happens with them.
- 10:01Now, moving on to the other, well, I mean, it's not, it's important, but not as important.
- 10:06And I'll explain why shortly.
- 10:09So, Sean Payton, coach for the Broncos has decided to make a bow next to the starting
- 10:15quarterback for week one.
- 10:17Now, when we look at this, bow nicks for whatever, you know, whatever the reason is, you know,
- 10:24was definitely slept on by a lot of prospects and by a lot of people and, you know, definitely
- 10:30clamped, not clamped down, but definitely looked down on, on his assets and what he
- 10:36brings to a team, you know, I think me personally, I feel like his skill set reminds me of a
- 10:41Drew Brees, a more athletic Drew Brees who was able to, you know, make a move for the
- 10:47team, you know, run out of the pocket, who was able to extend the play, who has the
- 10:50big arm, you know, who has the maturity and whatnot, all those different types of things.
- 10:56It looks like Drew Brees 2.0.
- 10:59That's what it really looks like.
- 11:00That's the vibe that I'm getting from bow nicks.
- 11:03And you know, for, for all the flak that Sean Payton got with the whole Russell Wilson situation,
- 11:09I could definitely say he's done a lot of turnaround in this offseason alone when you
- 11:15really look at, you know, he got.
- 11:17Bow nicks, he was able to keep Cortland Sutton.
- 11:20Tim Patrick looks healthy and he looks like he's, you know, being productive.
- 11:25They re-signed Quinn Miners.
- 11:26They've, you know, done, done a few little things to the offensive line to make it a
- 11:30little bit better.
- 11:31You know, all in all, that offense does look like, you know, they're going to be in a good
- 11:36direction.
- 11:37It's just the defense that I think that's going to give them the problems because although
- 11:41you do have PS2, you don't have any, you don't have any patch rushers, any good patch rushers.
- 11:47You don't have any good, you know, defensive line depth.
- 11:50Your linebackers, I mean, they're, they're okay, but they could be better.
- 11:54So it's like, and then not to mention you lost Justin Simmons.
- 11:57So the only real focal piece that you have on that team is PS2 for the defense.
- 12:03And so, you know, maybe, maybe they may try to, you know, pick somebody up off of waivers
- 12:08and once cut down, they happens.
- 12:10I don't know.
- 12:12But you know, all in all, I think they are in a good direction.
- 12:15Now when we look at the, the Raiders.
- 12:16I think the Raiders situation is a little bit more unique than the Broncos because with
- 12:22Garner Minchu being the, you know, being named the, the starting quarterback, I do feel like
- 12:28this does, you know, hit the, well, not hit, but I think this initiates the ticking time
- 12:34bomb of Devante Adams.
- 12:37And the reason why I say that is because Devante Adams wants to win, right?
- 12:43And, you know, since the whole crappy shitty situation, you know, with the whole Aaron
- 12:48Rogers and Devante Adams in the Packers situation, I think he does realize that he didn't make
- 12:54a wrong, he, he, you know, he definitely made the wrong decision in leaving the Packers.
- 13:00And granted, I understand, you know, from his perspective, he's thinking, okay, Jordan
- 13:03Love really hasn't played.
- 13:04I don't have any chemistry with him.
- 13:07I don't know if this team is going to regress or continue to get better.
- 13:11So I just need to find a way out and granted, you know, at that time, Derek Harvest still
- 13:15with the Raiders.
- 13:16And, you know, there was, there wasn't no indication that, you know, that Derek Harvest
- 13:21going to get let go of, but ultimately he did.
- 13:24And, you know, Devante Adams is now stuck in a crappy situation with a Raiders team that's
- 13:29not going to really go anywhere that at best is going to compete for a top five draft pick.
- 13:36That's just that.
- 13:37That's just what it is.
- 13:38I'm calling it the way that I see it here, folks.
- 13:40I'm not trying to sugarcoat it.
- 13:42I'm not trying to do anything.
- 13:43Those different types of things.
- 13:45Garner meant you is going to win you games.
- 13:47Yes.
- 13:48But to say that he is going to win you eight, nine, 10 games, especially in a division where
- 13:53you have Patrick Mahomes, you now have bow nicks and you have Justin Herbert.
- 13:58Right.
- 13:59That's a pretty, that's a pretty, you know, competitive division.
- 14:04And, you know, the Chargers are looking pretty good.
- 14:08They are.
- 14:09And, you know, the chiefs are the chiefs.
- 14:11So again, is was this probably the best situation?
- 14:15I don't know.
- 14:17But you know, only time will tell.
- 14:19Maybe, maybe Garner mentioned will prove us wrong.
- 14:23Maybe I don't know.
- 14:24But all in all, I just, I just don't like it.
- 14:27I just don't.
- 14:28I think Devante Adams is going to want out.
- 14:31I think he's definitely going to want to be traded.
- 14:34And I think he's definitely going to, I think he's definitely going to garner a lot of attention
- 14:38from a lot of teams.
- 14:39I will not be some.
- 14:41This is my prediction because I'm going to do, I'm going to be doing a lot of predictions.
- 14:44Okay.
- 14:45We are going to call this episode.
- 14:48Bagracies.
- 14:49Yes.
- 14:50Bagracies bag, bag alerts and conspiracy theories mixed into one seat.
- 14:56See, this is exactly why this is the greatest football podcast you can possibly listen to.
- 15:02Man, come on.
- 15:03I don't care.
- 15:04Anyone says now when we look at this, when you look at it from, you know, from the eye
- 15:08outside looking at the Raiders have lost a lot.
- 15:12Okay.
- 15:13Especially on that offense, they lost Josh Jacobs due to free agency.
- 15:17You lost Derek Carr for, you know, obvious dumb reasons.
- 15:21All you have is Brock Bowers and Devante Adams.
- 15:25That's all you really have.
- 15:26Then you let go of Hunter Renfro.
- 15:27So it's like, what exactly do you have to show for?
- 15:30Right.
- 15:31And, you know, it's definitely a difficult situation for the Vonte Adams because one,
- 15:37he's not getting any younger, he wants to win.
- 15:40He wants to experience what winning is.
- 15:43And he knows that this is probably going to be the opportunity, the only opportunity
- 15:46that he's probably going to have to possibly go to another situation, a better situation
- 15:51that could probably be more competitive and that you could possibly win.
- 15:55That's just what it is at the end of the day.
- 15:57Now onto the other news.
- 15:59So defensive tackle will former bills and Vikings.
- 16:02I don't know what other teams they play for.
- 16:05But, uh, detackle Linval Joseph has signed a deal with the Cowboys.
- 16:11Yeah.
- 16:12This is the third, four, fifth, six, seven, eighth, ninth, tenth defensive line that they've
- 16:19signed already.
- 16:20Like, geez, how many defensive, how many defensive line are they going to sell?
- 16:24We got a week.
- 16:25Well, anyway, um, I'm rambling, uh, Linval Joseph signed with the Cowboys.
- 16:29So, you know, this is more of a veteran presence who, who knows the Mike Zimmer system, comfortable
- 16:37with the Mike Zimmer system, who has that, you know, who can show the other players on
- 16:42the defensive line, you know, how to be, you know, how to fit into his system.
- 16:46Um, nothing, you know, crazy or anything like that.
- 16:50Even when you look at the deal, it's really, it's only a one year, four million dollar
- 16:54deal.
- 16:55He's only getting 2.5 million guarantees.
- 16:57So all in all, it's really not that big of a deal, not that big of a situation because
- 17:02I do know that the Cowboys have been trying to like beef up their, their defensive line
- 17:07as best as possible.
- 17:09And Linval Joseph is definitely a good run stuffer.
- 17:12Um, I just wonder is it, you know, is a little bit of a premeditated type of move?
- 17:19I just want to know honestly, because again, you're filling up.
- 17:23Yes, you're, you're adding players, but are they impactful players?
- 17:28That's the question because Mazzie Smith really hasn't shown a whole lot since being drafted
- 17:33to the, to the Cowboys.
- 17:35Linval Joseph really, I mean, he's, he, he did a few things with the, you know, with
- 17:41the bills and whatnot.
- 17:42But again, where, where, where does he lie on the, you know, on the food chain on that
- 17:48defensive line?
- 17:50Um, even with Carl Lawson, like again, you're, you're getting, you know, you're getting these
- 17:56players are like, what, what exactly, what is the plan actually at this point?
- 18:02And you know, again, this does go back to everything that's going on with the Cowboys,
- 18:06the Cowboys, the Cowboys don't even realize and Cowboys fans, you guys don't even realize
- 18:11how much is riding on this season.
- 18:13Mike McCarthy is looking for an extension.
- 18:15Dak is looking for an extension.
- 18:17CD Lam's looking for an extension and Michael Parsons is looking for an extension.
- 18:21Right.
- 18:22And, you know, the Cowboys realized that guess what?
- 18:26They have to pay CD Lam.
- 18:27There's no way that you can go around this.
- 18:29There's, there's no way you can cut it, slice it, trim it, package up, whatever you want.
- 18:35They have to pay CD Lam because why?
- 18:38He is literally their best receiver and their only productive receiver on that team.
- 18:43Now it'll be different if they still had a Mark Cooper and, you know, Michael Gallop
- 18:47before the injury, then it's like, okay, cool, maybe they can, you know, figure something
- 18:51else out.
- 18:52But, but the fact of the matter is this, if you want to be able to win games, if you
- 18:58want to be able to be competitive, not only in your division, but to be competitive against
- 19:03other teams, you're going to have to sign a CD Lam.
- 19:06You're going to have to write that check, Jerry.
- 19:08You're going to have to because the offense is CD Lam.
- 19:13That's just what it is.
- 19:15And he's a superstar and you have to pay superstars, big superstar money.
- 19:20That's just what it boils down to.
- 19:22And you know, you may hate it or not, but guess what?
- 19:25Your whole identity is, has been for the Cowboys is superstars, superstars, superstars.
- 19:32But when it comes down to, you know, getting paid and whatnot, you don't want to pay them
- 19:36superstar money to take a discount.
- 19:38So guess what?
- 19:39CD Lam has definitely been one of the best productive receivers since coming into the
- 19:43league and he has to be, you know, a compensator for that.
- 19:48He just has to.
- 19:49So come on, come on, Jerry, take out that old wrinkly beat up checkbook that you have
- 19:55in your back pocket because I know you have one and write that check for CD Lam.
- 20:00You might as well get over with now because if this thing lingers into the season, you
- 20:05are going to have a big, big, big problem.
- 20:08And I wouldn't be surprised if, you know, behind closed doors, you have people like
- 20:12DAC and others who are vouching for CD Lam to get paid because again, they realize that
- 20:19if CD Lam is not on that field, the Cowboys offense is not productive.
- 20:23You have an old Zeke and you have DAC Prescott who literally, I mean, who are the other receivers?
- 20:30No, no, no disrespect to them.
- 20:31But again, who is just as productive or even close to being as productive as CD Lam as far
- 20:39as with the receivers on that team.
- 20:41I'll wait.
- 20:43Nobody.
- 20:44Okay.
- 20:45That's what I thought.
- 20:46Moving forward.
- 20:47Um, yeah, let's talk about these predictions.
- 20:49Yeah, let's let's let's actually do that.
- 20:51Let's do these bagro Domus predictions for both the corners and the receivers.
- 20:56But let's start with the corners first.
- 20:58So they're extinguished sauce and PS2 pretty soon will be eligible for, you know, contract
- 21:04extensions and whatnot.
- 21:05So cool, right?
- 21:07But the problem is, is that their situation sort of mirrors the receiver situation.
- 21:14And I'm going to explain why it just, you know, right now.
- 21:18So when you look at it, right, you have three, you have three corners who by themselves can,
- 21:25you know, are going to reset the market.
- 21:27Two of them for sure are going to reset the market.
- 21:31Okay.
- 21:32Two of them are.
- 21:33One of them is probably going to, you know, it's think, thinks they're going to, one of
- 21:38them is going to get a deal first.
- 21:39Right.
- 21:40It's going to be easier deal to take care of a one not the other two are going to be
- 21:44the ones that are going to be, you know, hashed out and whatnot.
- 21:48It can be drawn out for a longer period of time.
- 21:52Let me explain.
- 21:53So according to spot rack, shout to who spot rack.
- 21:57Their extended leaves market value is three years, $68.8 million, $22.9 million a year.
- 22:04Sauce gardeners market value is three years, 67.6 million, 22.5 million and PS2 is market
- 22:11value is three years, 66.5 million, 22.2 million a year.
- 22:16Now these are, you know, these are pretty fairly, you know, around the same ballpark,
- 22:21which is pretty cool and whatnot.
- 22:23But I just feel like one of them is going to reset the market.
- 22:27I do.
- 22:28I truly believe that because you have two, well, not even, oh no, I can't, I can't expect
- 22:37like that.
- 22:38You have three corners, three premier shutdown, lockdown, number one corners, right?
- 22:44That are going to be looking for the back, right?
- 22:47And that's not even mentioning if they have a crazy season, if they have a crazy season
- 22:52where they have, I don't know, five, eight or even 10 interceptions and whatnot and they
- 22:57have like these crazy stats and they're one of the finalists for the defensive player of
- 23:01the year award, that even ups the ante even more.
- 23:05So again, this is a situation where, you know, if you're the Jets, you have to figure out
- 23:10what you're going to do.
- 23:12If you're the Broncos, it's a little bit more easier to do because why?
- 23:15You don't have a lot of big contracts that you have to worry about.
- 23:18You have your quarterback is on a rookie deal.
- 23:20Three minus just got to do, but that's, you know, it's not earth shattering.
- 23:24Coral and Sutton got, you know, extra guarantee money added to his contract, which that's not
- 23:28that big of a deal either.
- 23:29So again, that's an easier sell.
- 23:32That's an easier, you know, contract to take care of.
- 23:35Same thing with Derek Stingley.
- 23:37Coral and not Coral and Sutton.
- 23:38Why am I thinking about Coral and Sutton?
- 23:40CJ Stroud is on a rookie deal, which is, you know, good.
- 23:45And you know, everybody else is still in a fairly pretty good situation.
- 23:48The defense isn't that expensive.
- 23:50So again, that's another deal that can be taken care of, you know, pretty well.
- 23:56So these are my predictions.
- 23:58Okay.
- 23:59Bagrow-Domas's predictions.
- 24:00You're only going to hear it here at the football junkies podcast.
- 24:04Okay.
- 24:05So for me personally, I would say sauce gardener gets a three years, $75 million deal, $25
- 24:11million, three years, $75 million.
- 24:14He'll be making $25 million a year.
- 24:16Patrick's retain three years, 73 million, 24.3 million a year.
- 24:22And Derek Stingley, three years, 72 million, 23.6 million a year.
- 24:27Now when we look at it, I do feel like sauce is somewhat of the Justin Jefferson, you know,
- 24:35type of situation when it comes to corners, right?
- 24:38You know that once it's time for him to get paid, he's going to reset the market.
- 24:44Same thing for PS2.
- 24:45PS2 in some ways is like the CD lamb for corners, right?
- 24:49He may not, he may not reset the market, but they'll probably get him as close as they
- 24:54possibly can to what sauce had probably.
- 24:57Derek Stingley on the other hand, I don't know exactly how that situation is just going
- 25:03to pan out.
- 25:04I don't.
- 25:05I wouldn't be surprised if they probably, you know, pick up his fifth year option.
- 25:08I wouldn't be surprised.
- 25:09I wouldn't be surprised if they did it for any of these, any of these players.
- 25:13I just don't.
- 25:14But the problem is, I think the jets in sauce, I think that's going to be a longer drawn
- 25:21out situation because they've put so much money behind Aaron Rodgers, even though that's
- 25:27a failed experiment that they're like, they're trying to see exactly how this thing is going
- 25:32to pan out.
- 25:33And then not to mention, there's a good chance that, you know, they're going to be, they're
- 25:36going to be looking for a new head coach as well.
- 25:38So there, there's a lot of things riding on, you know, if sauce stays or if he goes, honestly.
- 25:46But as far as PS2 and Derek Stingley, I think those deals are going to be done fairly quickly.
- 25:52I really do believe that.
- 25:54But again, I could be wrong.
- 25:58You know, how can I say this?
- 26:01How can I say this?
- 26:03It's just difficult.
- 26:04It's difficult.
- 26:05It's difficult because you have three, you have three premier, you know, players who
- 26:11are going to be looking for over 25 million a year.
- 26:15And the question is, are these teams going to be willing to do it?
- 26:19Really?
- 26:20Like that's, that's just the question.
- 26:21And you know, we have seen recently that a lot of teams nowadays, especially GMs are
- 26:26being, you know, that are fighting tooth and nail when it comes to these deals.
- 26:30Okay, so point, that's why you see a lot of players who, you know, they're not reporting
- 26:35to training camp who are not interacting with the team who are, you know, being silent
- 26:40and sending cryptic messages because it's like, bro, I am the best of the best on my
- 26:44team.
- 26:45I have to be fairly compensated and teams are like, well, we've won to compensate you.
- 26:50But at the same time, your, your version of compensation isn't what we want or what we
- 26:57have in, you know, envisioned or dreamed of.
- 26:59So again, it's a lot of things, a lot of situations, but I do believe all three of them will get
- 27:06paid respectfully.
- 27:08So there's that now on to the breaking news, folks.
- 27:12Okay, Johan Dotson, former commander's receiver has gotten traded to the Eagles.
- 27:19Okay.
- 27:20Yes.
- 27:21Fly Eagles, fly whatever you, wherever you guys say, blah, blah, blah, don't care.
- 27:25Okay.
- 27:26So the Eagles get Johan Dotson in a 2025 fifth round pick and the commanders get a third
- 27:32round pick for 2025 and two seventh round picks for next year's draft.
- 27:38Now, this is a lot to take.
- 27:41When we, when we look at this, this is a situation where the Eagles are continuing to beef up
- 27:46that offense even more, right?
- 27:49They've had a lot of, you know, a lot of offensive additions.
- 27:52When you really look at it in this off season, they got Seguin, they paid him money.
- 27:56Now they got Johan Dotson.
- 27:58You still got AJ Brown, who they paid more money to and they paid money to Devonte Smith
- 28:04as well.
- 28:05So all in all, this is a very potent offense.
- 28:10That is the best offense in that division.
- 28:13I'm not going to anyone says I'm not going to any analysis.
- 28:17That is the best offense in that division.
- 28:20They are trying to go and win another Super Bowl.
- 28:23Now, do I think they could probably do it?
- 28:27I don't know.
- 28:29I don't know.
- 28:30I just don't know.
- 28:32Only time will tell.
- 28:33I mean, you know, we've seen how we make crazy moves during the season for, you know, for
- 28:38veteran players and, you know, sometimes it works and sometimes they don't work, but who
- 28:43knows?
- 28:44I mean, this Eagles offense is, it's, who, this is some problems.
- 28:48This is the, this is a problem.
- 28:51I can't even find the words to say this is a problem.
- 28:54But the thing about it is that people are not talking about this opens a whole lot for
- 28:59the commanders because now guess what?
- 29:02They now have a whole wide receiver number two.
- 29:05There's still another receiver that's looking to get traded looks that's looking to get
- 29:08paid.
- 29:09Brandon, now you is going to go to the commanders.
- 29:12I've heard it from, I'm not going to name who my sources are, but I've heard from a
- 29:16source that there is a good chance that Brandon is going to go to the commanders.
- 29:21And I'm not surprised that it happens because you still have that 49ers connection.
- 29:25The GM, you know, was once in the front office with, with the 49ers, the commanders have
- 29:31a little bit more leeway in paying for someone like a brand.
- 29:35And I feel like he would probably fit their offense a little bit better compared to Jahan
- 29:42Dotson because lately you've been hearing a lot of rumblings that, you know, Jahan Dotson
- 29:47just didn't fit with the idea of the team.
- 29:51And, you know, there was a little bit of like attitude issues if I'm not mistaken.
- 29:55So all in all, this is a very, you know, interesting move because they're moving him to a divisional
- 30:02rival.
- 30:03So again, you're going to see him twice.
- 30:05So all in all, it makes you wonder exactly what is, what is the commander's doing?
- 30:13Because you're not about to make this move.
- 30:15If you're not about to make some things somewhat of a bigger move, you're just not, I'm sorry.
- 30:20I'm not going to hear anyone says they're going to go after Brandon IE.
- 30:24They're going to give them the money that he wants.
- 30:28And I feel like they'll probably give him, they'll probably finesse the foreign of the
- 30:3249ers.
- 30:33Just because one, this situation has drawn out for too long.
- 30:37It's basically drawn out the entire off season.
- 30:40The season is getting ready to start.
- 30:42And you know, the 49ers are trying to prioritize paying Trent Williams the money that he wants.
- 30:48And you know, if I'm, if I'm a GM, if I'm John Lynch, I value Trent Williams more than
- 30:53Brandon IEWIC.
- 30:54I'm just, I'm just being honest here.
- 30:56It is easier to find a Brandon IEWIC in the draft than it is to find a Trent Williams.
- 31:02Okay.
- 31:03It is hard.
- 31:04And I'm going to say that again, it is harder to find a Trent Williams in the draft or in
- 31:09free agency or, or via trade than it is a Brandon IEWIC.
- 31:14No disrespect to neither one of them, but that is the truth.
- 31:18That is the mindset.
- 31:19I think the 49ers just want to get old, just want to be done with this situation.
- 31:25It has drawn out for too long.
- 31:26They feel like they have basically exhausted every option possible in they, in their eyes,
- 31:33they probably feel like it's still not good enough, right?
- 31:37Because there was a moment where they were fielding calls.
- 31:39Okay, cool.
- 31:40Then there was some friction and then there were some rumors that the, you know, that
- 31:44there was going to be a deal that was going to happen immediately.
- 31:47And then it stopped and then they came back to the table and they had a heart to heart.
- 31:51And then, you know, they, they would be, you know, buddy, buddy and whatnot.
- 31:54So it's basically been like a drama series.
- 31:57This is, this is the football version of days of our lives.
- 32:00This is exactly what it is.
- 32:03And it, it's drawn out for too long.
- 32:06People are tired of talking about it.
- 32:07People are tired, people are tired of speculating and I've heard from this person and that person
- 32:13and I heard about the person that was folding up clothes, overheard a conversation from
- 32:18the person that who was best friends with John Lynch that said that Brandon IEWIC was
- 32:22going to get traded to this team on two o'clock on Tuesday and whatnot.
- 32:27Everybody's tired of the foolishness.
- 32:30Okay.
- 32:31The 49ers want to get quiet because they're trying to focus to try to win a Super Bowl.
- 32:38That's all, that's all what it is.
- 32:39That's just what it boils down to.
- 32:41And you know, I'm not surprised that the commanders made this move because again, Johan Dotson
- 32:49was, you know, well, yeah, back, back to that situation was on the outside looking in from
- 32:55a roster standpoint and they probably realized within, Hey, why don't we just, you know,
- 33:01try to get some compensation from them and just move off, you know, from there, right?
- 33:06Because when you look at it, the, the commanders are going in a different direction, right?
- 33:12They're trying to, they're trying to change and whatnot.
- 33:15And they probably felt like, you know, Johan Dotson just hasn't really shown a whole lot
- 33:19since they drafted him.
- 33:20And that is just time they go their separate ways.
- 33:24And then not to mention, you know, cut, cut down days next week.
- 33:27So you're going to hear about more trades, you know, happening.
- 33:31Not to mention the commanders traded for a kicker today.
- 33:34They traded for KD York and then the Panthers, they just traded away.
- 33:38I think they traded for Michael Jackson.
- 33:41I'm not talking about the Michael Jackson.
- 33:43They used to do the, they used to do the moonwalk.
- 33:47No, I'm talking about cornerback Michael Jackson.
- 33:50Okay.
- 33:51The Panthers traded for Michael Jackson and the Seahawks get Michael Barry.
- 33:56Okay.
- 33:57Didn't see that's the breaking news, right?
- 33:59Yeah.
- 34:00I just, I don't know.
- 34:01Something, this is another prediction.
- 34:04Okay.
- 34:05This is another Bagrod Thomas prediction.
- 34:07Brandon Ieuk is going to get traded before next Wednesday.
- 34:11That is my prediction.
- 34:12I think they are just done with it.
- 34:14I think they want to move forward.
- 34:16I think, I think they just want to be done with this completely.
- 34:20And I think the commanders now is somewhat of a better spot and a better situation.
- 34:26Not to mention he also has chemistry with Jane and Daniels as well.
- 34:31Is there anything else I need to talk about with that situation?
- 34:34No?
- 34:35No?
- 34:36Yes?
- 34:37No?
- 34:38Maybe so?
- 34:39Okay.
- 34:40No.
- 34:41Cool.
- 34:42Now on to the second to last thing that we need to talk about.
- 34:43Okay.
- 34:44I'm drawing out the episode, but if the people that are bearing with me, I appreciate you
- 34:48and I love you so much from the bottom of my heart.
- 34:51Now we finally have, you know, we finally have a quote from Brian Flores on the things
- 34:58that have happened with Tua.
- 34:59So let's just, let's just go into it and then we'll talk about everything else.
- 35:03Okay.
- 35:04Well, actually, you know what?
- 35:05No, that's not for the people that didn't listen to this episode.
- 35:09Tua basically has come out and basically talked about, you know, his relationship with former
- 35:15Miami's head coach, Brian Flores, and basically how, you know, he was demoralized and basically,
- 35:24you know, told like he wasn't going to be anything and that you're horrible and this
- 35:27and the other and basically how, you know, with them firing him and then getting Mike
- 35:32McDaniels, how, you know, how he's basically been reinforced with positivity and, you know,
- 35:39all those different types of things.
- 35:42And this is what I'll say after I really think about it, because I feel like I definitely
- 35:46went in on Brian Flores.
- 35:48Brian Flores, you know, is definitely a good coach, but I do feel like it's going to be
- 35:53a harder climb for him to be viewed as a potential head coach because of this situation, because
- 36:00of how this situation was handled the way that it was, right?
- 36:05Because remember, I don't think people realize this.
- 36:08There was a time and point where there was a lot of speculation of, you know, the Dolphins
- 36:14probably trying to get, I can't even speak, the Dolphins were thinking about trying to
- 36:20go after, who was it?
- 36:22Tom Brady.
- 36:23There was rumors that they were going to try to get to Sean Watson as well.
- 36:28So they were, they were, in their mind, they were done with Tua before they could really
- 36:34evaluate Tua.
- 36:36And so that definitely probably took a toll on them, especially when, you know, every
- 36:40time we turn on the news, we hear from insiders that, you know, the Dolphins may be interesting
- 36:45going after Tom Brady and that whole debacle.
- 36:48And that's why they lost their first round pick that year because of all of the things
- 36:53that conspired and happened during, during that entire tenure.
- 36:58So when you have that, you know, especially as a young quarterback coming into the league,
- 37:03that definitely takes a toll on you.
- 37:04And then not to mention the text messages, when you say, you know, don't eff this up
- 37:08or whatever, like to your quarterback, come on, man.
- 37:11Come on.
- 37:12There, there, see, there is a fine line between hard coaching and, you know, just, just, just
- 37:20doing the most right now.
- 37:21And you know, Ryan Clark and, you know, and company said it yesterday on, on get up on
- 37:27ESPN shout out to them and whatnot.
- 37:32Hard coaching basically is I'm pushing you because there's something inside of you that
- 37:37I know that is there that I'm trying to bring out for the best, for the best version of
- 37:42you, right?
- 37:44Case in point, Nick Saban.
- 37:45Nick Saban is, is, is, has always had a reputation of coaching hard.
- 37:50And it shows because why a lot of the players that he is hard coach, guess what?
- 37:54They have become all pro Hall of Fame players who have gotten, you know, big time paydays,
- 38:00right?
- 38:01And, you know, that is what you see in hard coaching.
- 38:05You're talking about somebody who is very detail oriented, who is, you know, at that
- 38:10time, you know, the emotions may come out and you may not feel the best, but guess what?
- 38:15He's doing that because why he's showing you that.
- 38:18Listen.
- 38:19If you can't do the small things here, what makes you think you'll be able to do things
- 38:24once you get to the big leagues?
- 38:26Because in the big leagues, there, there's not as many chances for excuses because they'll
- 38:31ship your ass somewhere and not think twice about it, right?
- 38:35And you know, that's hard coaching.
- 38:37But this right here in this situation, this is not hard coaching.
- 38:41This is not, this is demoralizing somebody and basically just breaking them down.
- 38:47And I understand people make mistakes.
- 38:50Everybody makes mistakes.
- 38:51Everybody, you know, mishandles certain situations.
- 38:54I get all of that.
- 38:55But there's just certain things you just don't do.
- 38:59There's not.
- 39:00And it doesn't help that you are a black man.
- 39:04So you're already, you're already going to be put in a situation where people are not
- 39:09going to give you that look that you think that you feel like you deserve.
- 39:13No matter what the situation is, no matter what your credentials say, no matter who you
- 39:18coached and made them better or whatnot, they're not.
- 39:22It's going to be, it's going to be a climb for him to get another head coaching job because
- 39:27of that entire situation.
- 39:29It is, it's hard.
- 39:31It's hard.
- 39:32It's going to be hard for him.
- 39:34And that's probably why the best situation for him to go was to the Vikings because why?
- 39:40They're learning from somebody in Kevin O'Connell who comes from the Sean McVay tree who they
- 39:45are, they are reinforcing you.
- 39:48They're trying to show you like, Hey, this is how you do this, this, this.
- 39:51We're trying to encourage the player and show them how to be better, not beat them down.
- 39:56Because let's be honest here, folks, that Bill Belichick coaching is dead.
- 40:03It's dead.
- 40:04It's in the ground.
- 40:05Nobody likes that anymore.
- 40:06No, no player likes it anymore.
- 40:08That's why you've seen Josh McDaniels not getting another job.
- 40:12Matt Patricia not getting another head coaching job or whatnot.
- 40:16The other dude that was with the Giants.
- 40:19That's why you saw them not getting any more chances because why?
- 40:23They thought that they were built.
- 40:25And I said this in the other episode, they thought that they were built and they thought
- 40:28that they could coach players the same way that Bill coached players and it doesn't work
- 40:33like that.
- 40:34Tom Brady is an outlier.
- 40:36Tom Brady is a player who was obsessed about winning and he knew that.
- 40:41Listen, I'm probably going to get my ass chewed in front of the whole team for every small
- 40:47little thing that I didn't do.
- 40:48I'm probably going to get ridiculed and talked about in practice after games, even when we
- 40:54win the Super Bowl.
- 40:55But guess what?
- 40:56I don't care.
- 40:57I want to win.
- 40:58Right?
- 41:00Not everybody has that same mindset.
- 41:01I'm not saying that to a dozen.
- 41:03But there, but what works for one person, you shouldn't take that and then try to fix
- 41:10it and tweak it in your own way and think that you can do it with other players.
- 41:14Because now you're in a situation where now basically that relationship has basically
- 41:19been broken.
- 41:21And somebody asked Brian Flores, do you feel like you and Tua could probably talk and hash
- 41:26things out?
- 41:27And he's probably like, I really don't know.
- 41:31We're both too busy people.
- 41:32We're not the whole generic, we're busy people and that different type of stuff, bull crap.
- 41:38But I do feel like it's back to everything that I'm saying.
- 41:43It's going to be hard for Brian Flores to get another head coaching job.
- 41:47It is.
- 41:48It is.
- 41:49And it's going to be hard.
- 41:50It's going to be difficult.
- 41:52But when you have a situation like this and a lot of those things that happen behind closed
- 41:58doors, they come out to the public, this is what happens.
- 42:03So let's get into his comments.
- 42:06So this is what he says according to ESPN.
- 42:10And I quote, I'm genuinely, genuinely happy for the success that Tua has had for, as I
- 42:16said, and I really wish him nothing but the best.
- 42:18I think part of coaching is correcting.
- 42:20I'm always going to correct.
- 42:22I'm always going to have a high standard.
- 42:24And I think, look, I've done a lot of reflecting on the situation, reflecting on the situation
- 42:31and communication.
- 42:32What is going on?
- 42:34I think there's things that I could do better for sure.
- 42:36And I've grown in that way and I've tried to apply the things that I could do better
- 42:41and the things that I've learned over the last two, three years.
- 42:44Look, I'm human, right?
- 42:47That hit me in a way that wasn't positive for me.
- 42:49But at the same time, I've got to use that and say, hey, how can I grow from that?
- 42:54How can I be better?
- 42:56And that's really where I'm at from that standpoint.
- 42:58Do I feel like that's me?
- 43:00No.
- 43:01But how can I grow from that situation and create a world where that's not the case that
- 43:05anyone says that about Brian Florex?
- 43:08Now that is a whole lot to say here, but at the end, granted, he does have a point.
- 43:13He is human.
- 43:14We all make mistakes and all those different types of things, but there's just like certain
- 43:20no-knows that you just don't do, right?
- 43:24And granted, he's a good coach.
- 43:26He is.
- 43:27He's a really good coach.
- 43:28But again, I think that whole situation definitely tarnished whatever credibility and reputation
- 43:36that he had.
- 43:38And now it's going to be 10 to 20 times harder for him to get a head coaching job because
- 43:43why?
- 43:44Because he just handled the tool of situation, right?
- 43:48And that's probably why the Dolphins made the pivot that they did and realized, listen,
- 43:53we have to make a move.
- 43:55We have to do something different at this point.
- 43:57But again, I could be wrong and hopefully I am wrong, but looking at this situation and
- 44:06various insiders detailing things that happened and whatnot, even from a few years ago when
- 44:13Brian Flores was the head coach and even now when he's not the head coach for the Miami
- 44:18Dolphins, a lot of people are saying the same thing.
- 44:20It was a nasty situation.
- 44:22A lot of people definitely got hurt from it and all in all, I think it affected his credibility.
- 44:30So there's that now.
- 44:33On to a game that is supposed to be coming on Saturday at one o'clock.
- 44:38Okay.
- 44:39To the people that may be listening to this with your headphones on or maybe even in your
- 44:43car, you might want to turn it down just a little bit because why?
- 44:49You're probably asking because the six time, six time, six time, six time, six time, six
- 44:59time Pittsburgh Steelers play this Saturday, one o'clock against the Lions.
- 45:06Now I'm grinding.
- 45:07It's preseason game.
- 45:08I get it.
- 45:09I get all those different types of things.
- 45:11Okay.
- 45:12This is what I will say.
- 45:13This is what I'm looking for.
- 45:14This is what I want to see.
- 45:16I want to see the offense be more consistent.
- 45:19I want to see them actually go down, march down the field.
- 45:24I do.
- 45:25I want them, I want the run game to look a little bit more consistent.
- 45:28I want the pass protection and the run protection to be a little bit more consistent.
- 45:33Well, all in all, I want the offense to not be sloppy.
- 45:36I think that's where I'm trying to get at.
- 45:39The offense should not be this sloppy in the last preseason game.
- 45:43It should be better because again, you want to try to have a little bit of momentum leading
- 45:49into the first week of the season, especially with you going up against the Falcons.
- 45:53You want to have some momentum.
- 45:55Even if you just score two touchdowns or maybe just one touchdown, if it's a really good,
- 46:01if it's a really good drive, okay, cool.
- 46:04Who's really complaining about it?
- 46:07I want to see more of Russell Wilson.
- 46:09I want to see, I just want to see does he look good?
- 46:15I think that's the main thing that I really want to see.
- 46:19Is he all still there?
- 46:21Is his read still there?
- 46:22Is he able to use a little bit of his athleticism?
- 46:26All those different types of things.
- 46:29My whole question is, is this, will Mike Toblin break it up in a way to where Russ gets one
- 46:38half and then Justin Fields get the other or what exactly is going to happen?
- 46:44Because again, a lot of people don't understand this, but a lot is riding on this season for
- 46:48the Steelers because why?
- 46:49You have Russell Wilson who's on a minimum deal and you have Justin Fields who they decline
- 46:55his fifth year option to.
- 46:57Whoever does well in this preseason and then becomes the starter for the Steelers and then
- 47:03overall just plays within the season, they're probably going to be the one that's going
- 47:07to get an extension most likely.
- 47:11If I'm Russ, I probably want to take this serious because this could probably be my
- 47:15last big payday.
- 47:18If I'm Justin Fields, I want to take this even more serious because why?
- 47:23This could make or break my career.
- 47:27This could mean either I get 30 or 40 or 45 or 55 million a year or I am basically going
- 47:34to be a journeyman going from place to place.
- 47:38That's what it is.
- 47:39I just want to see more cohesion.
- 47:43I want to see more consistency.
- 47:44I want to see more cleanup.
- 47:46I don't want to see a bunch of sloppy play and whatnot.
- 47:49Now the full starts and the off sides and all those different types of things that don't
- 47:53want to see that.
- 47:54I want special teams to look better as well.
- 48:00I get it.
- 48:01I get it.
- 48:02It's a new rule.
- 48:03Everyone's trying to get used to it.
- 48:04All those different types of things.
- 48:05But again, we need to see something.
- 48:09You want to have some momentum on all three levels of play leading into the season because
- 48:15you're going to need it.
- 48:16You're not going up against a team that's fighting to get a high pick in the draft.
- 48:22You're going up against a team right now that could possibly win their division and probably
- 48:26sneak into the playoffs.
- 48:28That's who you're going up against.
- 48:30You have to take that serious.
- 48:31You want to have a little bit of momentum with you.
- 48:33I understand I keep on saying it, but in my opinion, if you're a team like this team
- 48:40who has had a lot of change in this off season, you want to have something to carry you into
- 48:47the first season.
- 48:48I mean, into the first week of the season.
- 48:49That's what you want.
- 48:50Instead of trying to build yourself up and hype yourself up to get ready for the first
- 48:56week.
- 48:57I definitely want to see Broderick take more reps at left tackle.
- 49:01I definitely want to see Zach Frazier do more.
- 49:04Mason McCormack, I definitely want to see more of him as well.
- 49:09And probably the receivers.
- 49:10I do.
- 49:11I think the receivers as well.
- 49:12I definitely want to see what other than George Pickens and Van Jefferson, I want to see what
- 49:18Calvin Austin can do, what Scotty Miller can do, Quest Watkins and company.
- 49:23So definitely want to see that.
- 49:26As far as for the defense, the defense is the defense.
- 49:29I definitely want to see more consistency with the corners, especially the slot corner.
- 49:35And I understand that Cam Siden is going to be suspended for eight games, but if you're
- 49:41the Steelers, you do probably need to go and you probably do need to pick up somebody else
- 49:47at this point.
- 49:48I think you do.
- 49:49You can't just bank on, okay, Cam Siden, after eight games, everything is going to be fine
- 49:56and dandy.
- 49:57No, you have to get somebody that can patch in the job and do the best that they can do
- 50:04and help be any bishop in this situation.
- 50:07That's what you need.
- 50:08You can't just bank on, oh, Benny will do it or this person will do it or that person
- 50:12will do it.
- 50:13No, you got to bring somebody else.
- 50:15There are adequate options available and free agency that you can get that is not going
- 50:21to cost you a whole lot of money.
- 50:23If you need some people, you know where to find me, Omar.
- 50:26You know where to find me.
- 50:27And as far as for the Lions, I just want to see, well, I really want to see their defense.
- 50:34I do.
- 50:35I want to see where that secondary lies.
- 50:37I do because they lost Cam Siden for obvious reasons, not going to get into it.
- 50:42They lost Kirby Joseph.
- 50:43I just want to see what I just want to see what Tyrion Arnold looks like against other
- 50:50receivers, someone like a George Pickens.
- 50:53What else?
- 50:54What else?
- 50:55What else?
- 50:56Their patch rushes.
- 50:57Definitely their patch rushes because I've heard a lot of good things about them as well.
- 50:59The offense is the offense.
- 51:00I'm not really worried about them because I know the offense is definitely, you know,
- 51:07they're up there.
- 51:08They're definitely up there.
- 51:11But I'm probably going to be watching as many games as I possibly can, but I'm probably
- 51:15going to take down some notes and then we'll talk about it in the next episode.
- 51:18But I'm going to end it here because, oh my God, 51 minutes.
- 51:22Oh, good God, this is going to be an episode.
