Transcript
- 0:03Speaker 1: Hi there, Welcome back to Vanity Farah. I'm your host.
- 0:05Speaker 1: My name is Chris Farah. See what I did there,
- 0:07Speaker 1: made a whole podcast my name on it. But I'm
- 0:09Speaker 1: super excited to talk to you today about one of
- 0:12Speaker 1: our favorites, Nine at a Fiance. It's Before the ninety Days.
- 0:15Speaker 1: It's season eight, episode thirteen, Losing Altitude. However, I have
- 0:20Speaker 1: a very special guest who is a very good friend
- 0:22Speaker 1: of mine, also a hilarious actor improviser. He is a
- 0:28Speaker 1: brilliant voice actor you know, which is like so, which
- 0:32Speaker 1: is awesome. So you're in the podcast world, it's like, oh,
- 0:34Speaker 1: he's such such a great situation across the board. But
- 0:37Speaker 1: then he reached out to me with a fervent fervor.
- 0:41Speaker 1: He has a love a die or deep obsessive need
- 0:45Speaker 1: to talk about this show. And that's why I was like,
- 0:47Speaker 1: oh my god, Yeah, let's get Rama on because like
- 0:50Speaker 1: we are, we're going to have a fucking great time.
- 0:53Speaker 1: Please put your proverbial hands together for my guest, and
- 0:59Speaker 1: you know a great mind, Rama Vowery. Hello, how are you.
- 1:04Speaker 2: Hi, Chris? I'm good. I will start off by saying,
- 1:09Speaker 2: at no point in my life did I think I
- 1:12Speaker 2: would be as into ninety Day Fiance or before the
- 1:17Speaker 2: ninety Days as I am. I was brought into this
- 1:21Speaker 2: by the discovery of Jenny and Simmith and was so
- 1:24Speaker 2: fascinated by their whole arc that we kept looking. My
- 1:28Speaker 2: wife and I kept looking at these other couples on it,
- 1:32Speaker 2: hoping one of them would be the next Jenny and
- 1:35Speaker 2: Simmoth that we get our attention, And we found them
- 1:39Speaker 2: for different reasons. In Daniel and Lisa for every chaotic
- 1:45Speaker 2: reason on earth. And I think it's because of you
- 1:50Speaker 2: that I saw you sharing things from Vanity Farah or
- 1:55Speaker 2: clips or memes related to these shows, and I had
- 1:58Speaker 2: to find out what was going on, and boy did I.
- 2:03Speaker 1: Ever I infected you.
- 2:05Speaker 2: I can't tell you how excited I was to see
- 2:08Speaker 2: this episode. It left me on such a cliffhanger in
- 2:12Speaker 2: the previous episode with one of my favorite Lisa lines ever.
- 2:17Speaker 2: I know, the previous episode started with her having a
- 2:20Speaker 2: bowel movement in bed, and that was a surprise. No
- 2:25Speaker 2: one expected an episode to start so strongly as that
- 2:28Speaker 2: with going she poo on me.
- 2:30Speaker 3: Yeah, But by the end of it, my favorite favorite
- 2:35Speaker 3: thing that she ever said, apart from It's been twenty
- 2:38Speaker 3: one years since I've been with a man, which if
- 2:41Speaker 3: it was a drinking game, you'd have to take a
- 2:43Speaker 3: shot every time she says it's been twenty one years
- 2:45Speaker 3: since I've been with a man.
- 2:47Speaker 2: But this was after she tells Daniel that she's been
- 2:50Speaker 2: married five times, but chose not to clarify that two
- 2:57Speaker 2: of these marriages were to women, and he storms off, embarrassed, upset,
- 3:03Speaker 2: feeling like he has to call his uncle because now
- 3:06Speaker 2: he is slept with another man's wife, which he thinks.
- 3:11Speaker 2: She doesn't choose to clarify, but while she's heavily drinking
- 3:15Speaker 2: what looks like barefoot wine and crying and says, I
- 3:21Speaker 2: have to come clean. I have to come clean. He
- 3:24Speaker 2: doesn't even know that she's a she, which he shouts
- 3:27Speaker 2: that we were cheering because just this great moment of
- 3:33Speaker 2: how long the two of them are stringing each other
- 3:37Speaker 2: along for whatever, like you can't tell there's a joy
- 3:41Speaker 2: in watching it going. There two scammers trying to scam
- 3:44Speaker 2: each other, Yes for different reasons. Yes, and every decision
- 3:48Speaker 2: they make is more unhinged than the previous one. Yes,
- 3:52Speaker 2: And it felt like it flipped because at the beginning,
- 3:55Speaker 2: like Daniel's going after her for a green card get
- 3:58Speaker 2: out in Nigeria, this meal ticket with this very interesting
- 4:03Speaker 2: person from King of Prussia, Pennsylvania, and she's seeking She's
- 4:10Speaker 2: seeking love in whatever way is never enough and it's
- 4:13Speaker 2: always going to implode. But the decisions she makes of
- 4:17Speaker 2: I'm not going to tell him the truth before i
- 4:19Speaker 2: fly to Nigeria, telling her daughter, I'm not going to
- 4:23Speaker 2: get engaged right away, lying all this money that she's
- 4:28Speaker 2: spending and we already know she didn't have money, how
- 4:31Speaker 2: much of it came from her friend, how much of
- 4:33Speaker 2: it is just kind of going into Hawk, buying him jewelry,
- 4:36Speaker 2: buying him clothes, staying at that hotel, getting another room,
- 4:40Speaker 2: and then what happens in this episode, there's just more
- 4:43Speaker 2: money that gets spent that I don't know where where
- 4:46Speaker 2: it came from, and it was just the cliffhanger of
- 4:52Speaker 2: ending on. He doesn't know that she's a she to
- 4:56Speaker 2: have to wait a week to find out is she
- 5:00Speaker 2: actually going to tell him because she keeps saying I
- 5:03Speaker 2: have to tell him, I have to come clean. I
- 5:04Speaker 2: have to come clean, but at the same time tells
- 5:06Speaker 2: her daughter, I can't tell him. I can't tell him,
- 5:08Speaker 2: I'm gonna lose him. The go Well, how are they
- 5:11Speaker 2: gonna play it in this episode, because it feels like
- 5:13Speaker 2: it's the main event. They're definitely not gonna tell me
- 5:17Speaker 2: right at the beginning, how do you tee this up? Hi?
- 5:21Speaker 2: I will say this they tea Yeah.
- 5:23Speaker 1: They teed it up? Is you brought up so many
- 5:25Speaker 1: good points? I want to say some things. First of all,
- 5:27Speaker 1: for someone who doesn't have money, she's you're right, spend
- 5:30Speaker 1: a lot of money. Not only that, rama, she's dressed
- 5:33Speaker 1: very well for someone on this show. Look at this
- 5:36Speaker 1: two piece in this look at this rockin very cute
- 5:40Speaker 1: two piece said that she's wearing And I'm saying that
- 5:43Speaker 1: because she has you think that she might be a
- 5:45Speaker 1: little basic. She just can't you could think that she
- 5:47Speaker 1: wouldn't dress well by the way Laura wishes she would
- 5:51Speaker 1: dress like Lisa. And I mean that Lisa's style like
- 5:55Speaker 1: is good, like it almost feels like someone what and
- 5:57Speaker 1: she spent money on these clothes, like okay, So that's
- 5:59Speaker 1: just one. I just have to get that just like it,
- 6:01Speaker 1: you know. I want to give her also grace where
- 6:04Speaker 1: there is some and she you know, is cute. She
- 6:06Speaker 1: dresses cute. Yeah, like she said the grossest thing. It's
- 6:14Speaker 1: like awkward for me to say in front of you,
- 6:16Speaker 1: but my gross line. Okay, yeah, that's that's when she
- 6:20Speaker 1: said that line about accommodating him. You don't understand. That's
- 6:25Speaker 1: where my mind like died. I just was like, oh no,
- 6:28Speaker 1: you know, like that was You're p big for me.
- 6:32Speaker 1: She said it for me specifically, Like the thing about
- 6:35Speaker 1: her is yet she will just say something very clearly
- 6:38Speaker 1: and it's like just breaks your brain.
- 6:40Speaker 2: Yeah, the thought going into her mind of starting off
- 6:46Speaker 2: with I'm upset with you about last night because it
- 6:50Speaker 2: didn't go the way that I wanted and you wanted
- 6:52Speaker 2: to go to bed, but we made up for it
- 6:54Speaker 2: this morning, and then going into detail about physically accommodating him. Uh. I.
- 7:02Speaker 2: We were repeating that line for days just because it
- 7:06Speaker 2: was so so funny and so out of pocket. And
- 7:10Speaker 2: I know that there was some line producer on this
- 7:13Speaker 2: show who right after they wrapped, was shooting with them
- 7:16Speaker 2: that they jumped on a call to the head of
- 7:19Speaker 2: production and said, you are gonna love this.
- 7:23Speaker 1: I'm to raise, give me a raise, Give me a
- 7:24Speaker 1: raise right now. And I'm telling you, like Sony contract
- 7:26Speaker 1: next ten years. You're gonna love me. But yeah, this is.
- 7:29Speaker 2: This will go viral in all of the circles you
- 7:31Speaker 2: don't expect, because that's honestly, that's like how it got me? Like,
- 7:36Speaker 2: how is it getting people who are sports fans and
- 7:39Speaker 2: do voices and cartoons until you see someone who's basically
- 7:45Speaker 2: like drawn together that that old fake reality animated show
- 7:50Speaker 2: that was on Comedy Central, Say, how is it someone
- 7:53Speaker 2: who could plausibly be a cast member on that be
- 7:57Speaker 2: a real person, that this wasn't an event, this is
- 8:01Speaker 2: actually someone's real thoughts. And I usually would go into
- 8:05Speaker 2: these things not wanting to engage in that schodenfreude of
- 8:10Speaker 2: knowing they have. There are reasons why people are on
- 8:14Speaker 2: this show. People are lonely, people are looking for love.
- 8:16Speaker 2: You're finding very strange places, yes, But for these two specifically,
- 8:22Speaker 2: not only are their mutual mode of suspect from the beginning,
- 8:27Speaker 2: they also chose to be on this show. They invited
- 8:32Speaker 2: the cameras into it, and some of the couples you
- 8:37Speaker 2: kind of feel people playing it up for the camera.
- 8:41Speaker 2: I honestly don't know that the two of them register
- 8:44Speaker 2: the cameras are in even there at any point as
- 8:49Speaker 2: even if you think about it, that like the ePK
- 8:51Speaker 2: packages where they do the glamour shot before the segment
- 8:56Speaker 2: where they dolly in on them, and it starts off like, oh,
- 8:59Speaker 2: they're hugging each other and smiling and looking like they're
- 9:03Speaker 2: in love. Every episode it gets more and more unhinged.
- 9:06Speaker 2: The distance between them is greater. They both look miserable,
- 9:10Speaker 2: and I wonder, as someone who's worked in production, did
- 9:14Speaker 2: they plan in advance, Okay, we're just gonna shoot a
- 9:16Speaker 2: bunch of these, you're really in love, you're having a
- 9:19Speaker 2: great time. Maybe the strip isn't going the way that
- 9:22Speaker 2: you want to. You hate each other, you want him
- 9:24Speaker 2: to go to prison, you never want to see each
- 9:26Speaker 2: other again. Did they bank all of that at the
- 9:29Speaker 2: beginning just in case they needed it, or as things
- 9:33Speaker 2: became more unhinged that they say, hey, we've got five minutes,
- 9:37Speaker 2: can you two, while you're at your angriest, just stand
- 9:40Speaker 2: here and be as disgusted with each other as you are.
- 9:45Speaker 2: Because they make me laugh every single time. The first
- 9:47Speaker 2: couple episodes, yeah, it felt like they were repeating some
- 9:50Speaker 2: of it. But then yeah, that face, that face, the
- 9:55Speaker 2: face of this his brain breaks, so when they do
- 9:58Speaker 2: those glamour shots of them, like, well, well, did you
- 10:02Speaker 2: want to leave the show already? But you both are
- 10:07Speaker 2: too far in the red on this, and you know
- 10:09Speaker 2: that there's potential money after the fact, or there's some
- 10:14Speaker 2: notoriety because if I go, if I'm in the hospital
- 10:18Speaker 2: in King of Prussia, Pennsylvania and my nurse turns out
- 10:22Speaker 2: to be her, I would have so many questions. First,
- 10:27Speaker 2: when was the last time you washed your hands? Do
- 10:29Speaker 2: you have gloves? Did you get back here? How's Daniel?
- 10:34Speaker 2: Have you seen your daughter?
- 10:35Speaker 1: Faith would again question.
- 10:39Speaker 2: Are you still in each other's lives? Because I know
- 10:42Speaker 2: I feel horrible for her because she looked like she
- 10:44Speaker 2: doesn't want anything to do with with this, the latest
- 10:47Speaker 2: and a long line of schemes that her mom has
- 10:51Speaker 2: had that she has dealt with the fallout of. Feel
- 10:54Speaker 2: terrible for her and knowing that she doesn't want to
- 10:57Speaker 2: even participate in this. She doesn't want to entertain this.
- 11:00Speaker 2: She's hoping that it doesn't work out for her mom's sanity,
- 11:04Speaker 2: and just for society sanity, but for our enjoyment. Currently
- 11:10Speaker 2: it's just this this madness that those NDAs must be
- 11:15Speaker 2: real strong for the people who work on this show.
- 11:18Speaker 2: Because if I, if I knew I'd be, I'd have
- 11:23Speaker 2: my own diary, just writing every day, well today Daniel
- 11:28Speaker 2: and Lisa did this and that and this, and I
- 11:32Speaker 2: would think that I was making it up. I would
- 11:35Speaker 2: feel like I was in a fever.
- 11:36Speaker 1: Dream the whole I like love. I feel like they
- 11:39Speaker 1: are such a huge celestial star couple of like the
- 11:44Speaker 1: past seasons, like they are a huge deal. Their things
- 11:47Speaker 1: are going vil, there are a big deal, and they
- 11:49Speaker 1: are just unabashedly you know themselves, Like she is this
- 11:53Speaker 1: and she has been like talking, you know afterwards about
- 11:56Speaker 1: you know, whether she got evicted or how she feels
- 11:57Speaker 1: about that, and Faith has had statements and then Lisa's
- 12:01Speaker 1: ex wife has come out. Have you seen that too?
- 12:04Speaker 2: No?
- 12:05Speaker 1: Oh my god, No, I mean it's a whole thing.
- 12:07Speaker 1: She's huge. It's a big, guess deal. So obviously, as
- 12:10Speaker 1: we know, they pick up on the fact that she's
- 12:12Speaker 1: told him just the first part. They at the producers
- 12:15Speaker 1: ask her, like, how are you feeling. She's like hungover,
- 12:17Speaker 1: We're like hungover. She's like I couldn't sleep, she was
- 12:19Speaker 1: up boring. She had gotten another room, and then she
- 12:22Speaker 1: had texted him that she loves him and all of that,
- 12:25Speaker 1: but he has not texted her back. And she was
- 12:27Speaker 1: supposed to, however, take him somewhere and oh no, here's
- 12:31Speaker 1: like the rub, Like, oh no, this feels a little fake,
- 12:33Speaker 1: but whatever, God bless it's that she has for some
- 12:35Speaker 1: reason just went and back into her picky bank and
- 12:37Speaker 1: brought out of her five dollars and booked some extra
- 12:41Speaker 1: special romantifications. They always do this where they.
- 12:44Speaker 2: Have three hours, yes hours away.
- 12:47Speaker 1: She saw something online and was like click, Okay, that's
- 12:51Speaker 1: what we're supposed to believe. And then she puts on
- 12:54Speaker 1: like a prairie dress and a smoky eye and this
- 12:56Speaker 1: red flat shoe. Honey, it's like a little prairie flat.
- 13:01Speaker 1: It's like when I see it, I don't know, like
- 13:03Speaker 1: it really did something to me. I feel like I
- 13:05Speaker 1: was just like I took a picture of it for
- 13:07Speaker 1: some reason didn't upload it immediately, and you're like, why
- 13:10Speaker 1: would you not do that. I'm like, don't even worry
- 13:11Speaker 1: about it.
- 13:12Speaker 2: It's like vision board for It's funny.
- 13:14Speaker 1: Because I was like I took a picture ofmediately and
- 13:15Speaker 1: I was like so excited about it, and then I
- 13:17Speaker 1: was like I wonder if this is gonna come back,
- 13:19Speaker 1: this one red shoe, and you know what it does,
- 13:22Speaker 1: you know, so okay, let it anyway. But here's the thing.
- 13:27Speaker 1: So then they cut to him and he's like, well,
- 13:29Speaker 1: she was fucking drunk last night. She got wasted. I'm like, oh,
- 13:32Speaker 1: I guess yes, And he was like, and I was
- 13:35Speaker 1: didn't go to bed till five am because I was
- 13:36Speaker 1: up crying. And we're like, all right, Daniel.
- 13:40Speaker 2: You were up crying. I And the fact that she
- 13:43Speaker 2: actually was drunk this time, and he didn't do one
- 13:45Speaker 2: of these are you drunk?
- 13:47Speaker 1: Yes?
- 13:48Speaker 2: Are you sleeping? Oh, which was a big thing when
- 13:51Speaker 2: he had her try the palm wine. One sip, he's
- 13:53Speaker 2: like waving his hand in front of her face, are
- 13:55Speaker 2: you drunk? But this time, when she's definitely drunk, he's
- 13:58Speaker 2: so done with her that she's sitting in the back
- 14:01Speaker 2: of the van. He's sitting in the middle bench of
- 14:04Speaker 2: the van. When she says he's getting a different room,
- 14:07Speaker 2: he's just sitting on his phone on the couch and
- 14:10Speaker 2: he's got a sweet deal. He didn't pay for this hotel.
- 14:13Speaker 2: She's paid for this hotel. She's going to get another room.
- 14:16Speaker 2: It isn't him going to stay with friends of his
- 14:19Speaker 2: and legos, or calling his uncle or going anywhere, which
- 14:24Speaker 2: reasonably you'd think if I'm really done with this woman,
- 14:27Speaker 2: I would leave. I would take my things and go.
- 14:30Speaker 2: But instead he's like, I'm going to stay here in
- 14:34Speaker 2: this nice hotel room because she's my what God's gift, as.
- 14:40Speaker 1: He said, ancestors. Yeah, like there are a lot of
- 14:42Speaker 1: things happening. It's like his mom had a premonition that
- 14:45Speaker 1: a white woman would save him. Also, the ancestors from
- 14:48Speaker 1: that man that we be first man in the very beginning,
- 14:50Speaker 1: and then his uncle and now the king. All of
- 14:52Speaker 1: them are even three different men channeling ancestors being like
- 14:56Speaker 1: this one like all of that, You're right, he's staying
- 14:58Speaker 1: in that room and getting the free tea, which I get.
- 15:00Speaker 1: The tea looked great. And then so they meet up
- 15:02Speaker 1: and she's like, look, Daniel, I went and I paid
- 15:05Speaker 1: this money already and I can't get the money back.
- 15:08Speaker 1: And Daniel's like, I'm hearing free vacation and she's like, yeah,
- 15:12Speaker 1: you know, yes, you are hearing that. So then they
- 15:15Speaker 1: go and he's like, before we go to so, you know,
- 15:17Speaker 1: I have to tell my uncle about the whole situation.
- 15:19Speaker 1: She doesn't want him to tell him. She's like, why
- 15:20Speaker 1: can't this be s because girl, you're like not married
- 15:23Speaker 1: to like someone from that culture, like you to stab
- 15:25Speaker 1: him to marry someone from an anig boom man, Honey,
- 15:28Speaker 1: anig boom man is who you married. But yeah, like
- 15:32Speaker 1: she's like, it's like putting a scarlet letter on me.
- 15:38Speaker 2: I think she put that on herself many times over,
- 15:42Speaker 2: because every explanation of her past becomes more fascinating. How
- 15:47Speaker 2: she explained the genesis of every relationship that she had.
- 15:51Speaker 2: Of my first husband and then it didn't work and
- 15:56Speaker 2: I left him, and then my second husband, Fate's dead,
- 15:58Speaker 2: was my best friend, and yeah, then we just we
- 16:02Speaker 2: decided not to anymore. I left him, and then there
- 16:06Speaker 2: was another man, and there was the two wives, and
- 16:09Speaker 2: then I haven't been with my ex wife for nine years.
- 16:12Speaker 2: We've been separated, haven't haven't had a word from her
- 16:16Speaker 2: in nine years. But somehow I also have the divorce
- 16:18Speaker 2: papers which I do sign and need faith to go
- 16:22Speaker 2: file hopefully so it goes through before I landed Legos,
- 16:26Speaker 2: so I don't have to tell him. Oh, by the way,
- 16:29Speaker 2: I'm still married, which that I felt like that kind
- 16:34Speaker 2: of got dropped. It never got mentioned again, the status
- 16:36Speaker 2: of the paperwork. But she's still confident that she is married.
- 16:40Speaker 2: She is still married and has to tell him and
- 16:44Speaker 2: his brain explodes, I've slept with another man's wife. That
- 16:50Speaker 2: whole moment was just the moment that breaks the scammer
- 16:57Speaker 2: of even within his world, there is a certain morality,
- 17:01Speaker 2: a certain code that he follows. I know, and it
- 17:05Speaker 2: may be not enough because he's stayed there, and he says,
- 17:09Speaker 2: it's because I love you with all my heart. I
- 17:12Speaker 2: love you. I want to make this work. Do you
- 17:15Speaker 2: do you though, because every every time to this, the
- 17:20Speaker 2: moments of his definite rage bubbling under the surface, and
- 17:25Speaker 2: his control issues and traditional gender role things that maybe
- 17:31Speaker 2: coming up there. It's like, I need you to become
- 17:33Speaker 2: this ideal ebo wife. You have to learn how to
- 17:36Speaker 2: make him taking her to like an Airbnb cooking class
- 17:41Speaker 2: that they're supposed to take together and he just stands
- 17:44Speaker 2: there watching her learn how to make oha soup and
- 17:47Speaker 2: he doesn't participate, and she keeps saying, like, Daniel, book
- 17:51Speaker 2: this cooking class for us, there's no us in it.
- 17:54Speaker 2: He's not doing anything. You don't pick anything up well,
- 17:58Speaker 2: and he picked picked up the soup. And I do
- 18:02Speaker 2: have to point out I've I've seen a lot of
- 18:05Speaker 2: a lot of kissing in stage on screen, and.
- 18:10Speaker 1: Yeah, your professional opinion, Yes, I need really about and
- 18:14Speaker 1: I yeah.
- 18:14Speaker 2: I'll give it. In like Fairly Brothers kind of movies
- 18:18Speaker 2: like Jim Carrey and Dumb and Dumber will do like
- 18:22Speaker 2: lick the side of a woman's face or something, and
- 18:25Speaker 2: none of that is as disgusting as how these two kiss.
- 18:30Speaker 2: It's like neither of them have ever kissed before, and
- 18:34Speaker 2: they're trying to swallow each other's souls and lead with
- 18:38Speaker 2: the tongue. It's like they're licking all around the face
- 18:41Speaker 2: then just vacuuming. It's like attaching a hoover to the
- 18:44Speaker 2: to the mouth and and then just keep going. And
- 18:48Speaker 2: the sounds of it. It got to a point I've
- 18:51Speaker 2: had to look away, Like when we see them leaning in,
- 18:54Speaker 2: I can't, I cannot see this, Like, oh no, I
- 18:57Speaker 2: don't think I'm strong enough to watch this. Yeah, because
- 19:01Speaker 2: I don't know that I've ever seen anything like it.
- 19:05Speaker 2: It's a unique, unique way to show to show affection
- 19:12Speaker 2: in any phylum of our ecosystem. I've never seen two
- 19:19Speaker 2: creatures go at each other the way that these two do. Yes,
- 19:23Speaker 2: in that way, maybe they are made for each other because.
- 19:27Speaker 1: It's him though, Like here's the thing. She's just there
- 19:31Speaker 1: and she's a willing participant that wants to be devoured.
- 19:34Speaker 1: Which I think this is what. I think she mentioned
- 19:35Speaker 1: this once. I think that he knew that one time
- 19:41Speaker 1: when they were texting, he had used the word devoured,
- 19:45Speaker 1: I want to devour you or something like that, and
- 19:47Speaker 1: so I think that she was like, oh, that's that
- 19:50Speaker 1: or whatever, you know, And so I think that he
- 19:52Speaker 1: got validated that like upon meeting this white woman who
- 19:56Speaker 1: was going to like ancestrallies whatever, like for phil Mom's promise,
- 20:00Speaker 1: he was going to like really lean into like that
- 20:03Speaker 1: that expectation because he he is the one going tongue
- 20:08Speaker 1: open mouth first, like she's not like like she's just
- 20:11Speaker 1: kind of like there, and then he is just unhinging
- 20:14Speaker 1: his jaw and someone just taking her in like a
- 20:17Speaker 1: like a mouse, like a snake with a little baby mouse.
- 20:19Speaker 2: Yeah, you know, they're trying to become one one person physically, Yeah, exactly,
- 20:26Speaker 2: just not two spirits or two souls joining pupil. It's
- 20:32Speaker 2: like an anaconda, just anaka. Don't yeah, no, I love it. No,
- 20:40Speaker 2: that's great.
- 20:41Speaker 1: No, you know, I you know, did me mention that
- 20:43Speaker 1: we did this great play together that was like very
- 20:45Speaker 1: fun And we did a like hilarious kind of Monty
- 20:50Speaker 1: Python esque retelling of King Lear together, And.
- 20:53Speaker 2: So it was a musical comedy about King Lear at
- 21:00Speaker 2: the same and King James. Oh, okay, we're back.
- 21:16Speaker 1: I'm sorry, I think it's it's it's okay.
- 21:19Speaker 2: So it was we were in the show together called
- 21:21Speaker 2: Delirious by Ron West, doctor Ron West and his collaborator
- 21:26Speaker 2: Phil Swan, And it's a musical within a musical about
- 21:30Speaker 2: first level, a musical version of King Lear that's very
- 21:33Speaker 2: Melbrooks Monty Python. The level above that is it's Shakespeare
- 21:37Speaker 2: and King James writing the King James Bible and King
- 21:42Speaker 2: Lear at the same time while Shakespeare is going through
- 21:45Speaker 2: domestic problems at home with Anne Hathaway on the same
- 21:49Speaker 2: level you see in Hamnet this year.
- 21:51Speaker 1: And then the third level of the same story.
- 21:54Speaker 2: Yeah, the third level of the show is Ron as
- 21:57Speaker 2: a character a parody of himself, writing the show with
- 22:02Speaker 2: Phil and auditioning actresses for the show and all of
- 22:07Speaker 2: these storylines collide. It was so all of us were
- 22:10Speaker 2: playing multiple characters within it. And that's where I met you.
- 22:16Speaker 2: And you got to play this very big harlequin character
- 22:20Speaker 2: and got to dance and sing, and as usual, I
- 22:24Speaker 2: got to play like a cad, like a coward, a
- 22:27Speaker 2: cad someone who has status and talks too fast. But
- 22:31Speaker 2: I got to do these big like Donald O'Connor, gott
- 22:35Speaker 2: to laugh or make them laugh from singing in the
- 22:37Speaker 2: rain kind of numbers in it. And that was with
- 22:40Speaker 2: the Open Fifth Theater loved it. I still have what
- 22:44Speaker 2: the poster that I made with all the quotes on
- 22:46Speaker 2: it that I gave everybody over here somewhere. So we
- 22:49Speaker 2: met there and since then, I got to see your
- 22:54Speaker 2: One woman show at the Hollywood Fringe two years ago,
- 22:58Speaker 2: I think two seasons ago, and tremendous, absolutely tremendous. It
- 23:04Speaker 2: was like this show but live on stage, in your
- 23:09Speaker 2: own world, the telling of your life and your experiences.
- 23:12Speaker 2: That was charming and hilarious and really you connected with
- 23:19Speaker 2: it on an emotional and special level. And I know
- 23:23Speaker 2: that that the festival organizers, especially Bruno who Bruno Oliver
- 23:27Speaker 2: at the Broadwater at Sacred Fools. He was raving about
- 23:31Speaker 2: it before he even knew that you and I were friends.
- 23:34Speaker 2: He and I were having a drink at the Broadwater Plunge.
- 23:37Speaker 2: He's like, you know what you need to go see?
- 23:39Speaker 2: You need to go see the show that's the actress
- 23:41Speaker 2: Chris Fara has on, Like, oh, Chris is my friend. Oh,
- 23:44Speaker 2: I was already gonna go. So it was a very
- 23:48Speaker 2: well well thought of show. And you did a tremendous,
- 23:53Speaker 2: tremendous job.
- 23:54Speaker 1: That's incredibly kind. You're so you've been You're always so lovely.
- 23:58Speaker 1: I had so much one of the lyrics wed it's
- 23:59Speaker 1: such a fun cast. We have these memories of we
- 24:03Speaker 1: would just go like hang out outside like during breaks,
- 24:06Speaker 1: like there's this long part. Yeah, there's this long part.
- 24:09Speaker 1: We would just always be back there, and I always
- 24:11Speaker 1: felt like some sort of like high school or like
- 24:14Speaker 1: cool kid that was like after school did they get
- 24:17Speaker 1: hangout like in this parking lot area until we had
- 24:21Speaker 1: to run around for different entrances and stuff like that. Okay,
- 24:24Speaker 1: let me ask you. Okay, back at Fringe, when did
- 24:27Speaker 1: you Where did you meet your wife? Though? Like was
- 24:29Speaker 1: it at Fringe?
- 24:30Speaker 2: No, we met years before that. I was doing a
- 24:34Speaker 2: show out here in LA that was very much like
- 24:36Speaker 2: Tony and Tina's wedding that that kind of thing is
- 24:40Speaker 2: a live show called Indian Wedding that two friends of mine,
- 24:44Speaker 2: I'm at the Dhali Wall and Neil Dndani ran s
- 24:48Speaker 2: in the SEC also had worked on it before she left,
- 24:51Speaker 2: and they basically had Every show was at the sun Geeth,
- 24:55Speaker 2: which is the reception you have before your wedding. It's
- 24:59Speaker 2: like an night where family and friends get to do performances,
- 25:03Speaker 2: sing songs, do dances and all this in honor of
- 25:05Speaker 2: the couple it's about to get married. So we did
- 25:08Speaker 2: that show every month once a month for three and
- 25:12Speaker 2: a half years, I think, and I was in all
- 25:14Speaker 2: but soon shows. And it just happened that one of
- 25:20Speaker 2: the times I was doing the show, and this was
- 25:23Speaker 2: when we were at the Three Clubs over on Santami Life,
- 25:27Speaker 2: and I was doing a bit where I was the
- 25:31Speaker 2: cousin brother of the groom who was basically his closest
- 25:36Speaker 2: sibling though he's his cousin. But just before this got divorced,
- 25:41Speaker 2: which is a big stigma. You don't want the divorced
- 25:43Speaker 2: person speaking on your behalf before the wedding. You could
- 25:47Speaker 2: put like the evil eye on it. You don't want that,
- 25:50Speaker 2: but they asked me to do that, So I made
- 25:54Speaker 2: it into a character and musical number where I promised
- 25:58Speaker 2: I was going to sing this song in honor of
- 26:00Speaker 2: their love. But I keep starting to play it and
- 26:04Speaker 2: I interrupted because I have to keep explaining myself of
- 26:07Speaker 2: what's going on. And everything that I was saying was
- 26:10Speaker 2: this emotional dump about my now ex wife who cheated
- 26:14Speaker 2: on me with a white guy who looks like Chris
- 26:16Speaker 2: Martin from Coldplay. No, every joke in it was a
- 26:20Speaker 2: partition joke. It was. It was an Indian independence nineteen
- 26:24Speaker 2: forty eight joke about my home basically being torn apart
- 26:30Speaker 2: by a British Man. God, I just say it was like, yeah, no,
- 26:36Speaker 2: I'm totally fine. I'm not thinking about it, not even
- 26:39Speaker 2: a little bit. So then I The song that I
- 26:42Speaker 2: played on the guitar was from this movie called Kabelna
- 26:48Speaker 2: that came out early two thousands, and it was like
- 26:52Speaker 2: the Bollywood version of the movie Closer with Natalie Portman,
- 26:56Speaker 2: Clive Owen and that group that was about infidelity. But
- 27:01Speaker 2: it's a Bollywood movie about infidelity. So I sang this
- 27:04Speaker 2: big song in it, which is a sung just basically
- 27:08Speaker 2: like I can't believe what's happening. I'm yours in your mind.
- 27:12Speaker 2: That's being sung by two people who are cheating on
- 27:14Speaker 2: their spouses with each other. And I was singing that
- 27:18Speaker 2: song because I was like, oh, it's a really pretty song,
- 27:22Speaker 2: but also I'm singing a song about infidelity. We'll talk
- 27:25Speaker 2: about how I'm totally okay after my wife cheated on me.
- 27:28Speaker 2: And I played it sincerely that at the end of it,
- 27:31Speaker 2: I wrote in that I start crying on the final
- 27:33Speaker 2: bit of it because it's just I thought it would
- 27:36Speaker 2: be a really really funny way to be a blow
- 27:39Speaker 2: to this, but everyone in the audience just went, oh,
- 27:44Speaker 2: they really felt bad for me by the end.
- 27:48Speaker 1: I wish I saw it.
- 27:49Speaker 2: Yeah, I like the recording of it somewhere, But it
- 27:52Speaker 2: just happened that that night. She was there with a
- 27:56Speaker 2: mutual friend of ours, and she was with somebody at
- 27:59Speaker 2: the time. We met there, became friends, then met each
- 28:03Speaker 2: other again and again at these South Asian actor mixer
- 28:07Speaker 2: events around town that friends of ours were putting together,
- 28:11Speaker 2: and we just we were friends for three years before
- 28:14Speaker 2: we ever decided to try dating because that they wanted
- 28:19Speaker 2: she had to break up with that that all the
- 28:22Speaker 2: relationship had to end. I wasn't gonna do anything anyway,
- 28:25Speaker 2: and just time, I guess, we just became friends and
- 28:29Speaker 2: it just became this natural progression of we were friends
- 28:33Speaker 2: and willing to risk it to figure out if it
- 28:36Speaker 2: would be something else. Unfortunately it worked out, so I
- 28:41Speaker 2: don't have to find out what would have happened if
- 28:43Speaker 2: it didn't work out, because we're married now.
- 28:46Speaker 1: Mm hmmmm.
- 28:47Speaker 2: So, but it was like the the thing that people
- 28:52Speaker 2: were friends of ours were trying to make it happen
- 28:56Speaker 2: by saying, like suggesting that I was madly in love
- 28:59Speaker 2: with her when I was just friends with her. Did
- 29:03Speaker 2: like her, but I didn't go around telling everybody, oh
- 29:05Speaker 2: my god, I'm badly in love with her. Can you
- 29:07Speaker 2: help me? Because that's insane. But that was definitely something
- 29:13Speaker 2: she as she pointed out, like she knew I liked
- 29:16Speaker 2: her well before I ever admitted it to her, which
- 29:19Speaker 2: is fair.
- 29:19Speaker 1: Like women tend to know that I love that for her.
- 29:22Speaker 2: Yeah, very lucky. We're married now, we have two dogs,
- 29:27Speaker 2: and she's delightful. And she was in the same fringe
- 29:30Speaker 2: yer as you doing her show, which was The Yoni
- 29:35Speaker 2: Verse Show, which was a South Asian women's version of
- 29:39Speaker 2: The Vagina Monologues, but they wrote all of their own
- 29:42Speaker 2: stories and presented it as a woven narrative with Chaya
- 29:47Speaker 2: Kumar and Tanya Thomas, and they won like every award.
- 29:51Speaker 1: I was gonna say, you talked about my show, and
- 29:53Speaker 1: that show sweeps so hard and it was so amazing.
- 29:56Speaker 2: It was a beautiful My show that I was in
- 29:59Speaker 2: Leime Millennia, which is a pop punk musical parody of
- 30:02Speaker 2: le Miz by Kelly Lindyangelo and a La Glass. We
- 30:05Speaker 2: were nominated for things, but we knew we were going
- 30:07Speaker 2: to Edinburgh. Yeah, anyway, we were just basically testing it here.
- 30:12Speaker 2: We got nominated for a few things. Yeah, we got
- 30:15Speaker 2: nominated for a few things, didn't win anything here, and
- 30:18Speaker 2: then when we went to Edinburgh, we sold out the
- 30:20Speaker 2: whole run. I think it was ninety nine point four
- 30:23Speaker 2: percent of all seats sold out. And it was great
- 30:26Speaker 2: because I was the only visible minority in the group,
- 30:30Speaker 2: Like they could look at me and go like, oh,
- 30:32Speaker 2: the brown guy walking around with a bendy avocado man
- 30:36Speaker 2: necklace on. So I just walk around Edinburgh and these
- 30:40Speaker 2: people would come up to me and go, hey, you're
- 30:42Speaker 2: from that cheeky avocado show. We're going to see it tight,
- 30:48Speaker 2: So it's a good right. I would check every morning
- 30:50Speaker 2: and know that, hey, if we sold forty one tickets
- 30:52Speaker 2: at by nine am, the show was going to sell
- 30:54Speaker 2: out by seven pm. So I went, yeah, you don't
- 30:58Speaker 2: have the aggressively busk. I think we're we're good.
- 31:00Speaker 1: Good, then you can enjoy your life there because obviously
- 31:02Speaker 1: you know not to light jump around and we'll go
- 31:04Speaker 1: back to the show. But yeah, like once you if
- 31:05Speaker 1: you do the show there, there's so much involved and
- 31:08Speaker 1: you want to see people's shows, but then to also
- 31:10Speaker 1: have to get people to see your show and have
- 31:12Speaker 1: that pressure, it's just it is a lot like if
- 31:14Speaker 1: you're performing too, like Kelly's sleeping and you're like traveling.
- 31:18Speaker 2: It's just, you know, it was a lot. And like
- 31:20Speaker 2: to Kelly's credit, she was handing out flyers almost every
- 31:24Speaker 2: day under the statue of Adam Smith, which in itself
- 31:27Speaker 2: is hilarious when you're doing a musical about people with
- 31:31Speaker 2: student loan and medical debt under the statue of the
- 31:34Speaker 2: man who is the father of capitalism, going like, well,
- 31:37Speaker 2: it's his fault. We're here. And I meanwhile was going
- 31:42Speaker 2: like business to business, and we'd been there enough that
- 31:45Speaker 2: they started recognizing me coming into these places like the
- 31:48Speaker 2: Tempting Tatty. If you ever go to Edinburgh, go get
- 31:51Speaker 2: baked potatoes from the Tempting Tatty.
- 31:53Speaker 1: Tempting Tatty.
- 31:54Speaker 2: Oh my god, it's great. So we went there and
- 31:55Speaker 2: they would just get to know us and be like, oh, okay,
- 31:58Speaker 2: what show are you doing. And the more they saw
- 31:59Speaker 2: you like, oh, you're not just here doing the fringe,
- 32:03Speaker 2: try to put flyers up. You're here, you're buying our products,
- 32:08Speaker 2: You're you want to buy a bit of kit, you
- 32:10Speaker 2: want to do this. You actually are learning about us.
- 32:12Speaker 2: It's like that. That was nice. So there's even like
- 32:14Speaker 2: street artists over there that I'm still in touch with.
- 32:18Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 32:18Speaker 2: Great.
- 32:19Speaker 1: You know, just like the Americans you have if you're American,
- 32:21Speaker 1: you go abroad either to find your fiance or to
- 32:24Speaker 1: do art, listen, mingle and be and buy things and
- 32:27Speaker 1: be a part of the infrastructure. Don't just not just you,
- 32:30Speaker 1: but obviously don't just judge the food around you is
- 32:33Speaker 1: being weird and not want to like, you know, you
- 32:35Speaker 1: see a lot of that on the American stuff, but
- 32:37Speaker 1: hell are yeah, this isn't it's been pretty good, like
- 32:40Speaker 1: Lisa has been, except for when she got sick and
- 32:43Speaker 1: she couldn't try anything. Like she's been pretty i mean
- 32:46Speaker 1: accommoding for culture. Let's get back though, because she wants
- 32:49Speaker 1: to talk with the spider. So then she gets to
- 32:50Speaker 1: the space, she sees a spider. Honey, that spider is
- 32:54Speaker 1: not her friend, and she doesn't want to deal with it,
- 32:56Speaker 1: and Daniel doesn't want to deal with her, and you
- 32:59Speaker 1: can tell because all he would have to do is
- 33:01Speaker 1: just fucking get the spider and get it out of there.
- 33:02Speaker 1: But he doesn't want to like have to like really work,
- 33:05Speaker 1: and he's kind of upset.
- 33:06Speaker 2: That just show level of participation for this. He definitely
- 33:11Speaker 2: doesn't want to be there, but he does want the
- 33:14Speaker 2: free vacation.
- 33:15Speaker 1: Yep.
- 33:15Speaker 2: And he sees a tiny spider. It's not to him,
- 33:19Speaker 2: it's not a big deal. She's terrified of she's a
- 33:22Speaker 2: raachnophobic suddenly, so he knocks it down from the ceiling
- 33:26Speaker 2: and she goes into a panic. Kill it, kill it.
- 33:28Speaker 2: He tells her, no, you kill it. It's like you
- 33:30Speaker 2: paid for this, it's your room, you kill it.
- 33:32Speaker 1: It's like, no, you're here for free, you kill it? No, literally,
- 33:36Speaker 1: I paid for this and all you have to do
- 33:38Speaker 1: your payment is killing it. I don't understand why that's
- 33:40Speaker 1: like the thing like she won't put her foot down,
- 33:43Speaker 1: especially on the spider, until she does. She's the one
- 33:46Speaker 1: that actually literally puts her foot down and kills the
- 33:48Speaker 1: spider with that red shoe, And it makes it upset
- 33:50Speaker 1: that she's like, literally, all you have to do is
- 33:51Speaker 1: now get rid of the spider. He's acting like he
- 33:55Speaker 1: said yes to a free vacation and but he will
- 33:57Speaker 1: not go to the timeshare meeting. You know what I'm saying.
- 34:00Speaker 1: I mean, okay, so let's move on because I don't
- 34:02Speaker 1: believe we actually have something moreubble my love. Okay, So
- 34:06Speaker 1: Laura and beer Khan so, oh my god, he love
- 34:09Speaker 1: honey mountains. And then they make a bunch of boob
- 34:12Speaker 1: jokes boob mountain mountain boos, like yeah, sometimes he's it's
- 34:16Speaker 1: so funny that she's like he's so deep, but also
- 34:18Speaker 1: he's someone who's like boom boom.
- 34:21Speaker 2: The their age difference was very very clear on this episode.
- 34:27Speaker 2: I think more than anything from the from the boob
- 34:30Speaker 2: jokes to just his suspicions about her friend. It's like
- 34:36Speaker 2: he's coming, he's coming to check on me and to
- 34:39Speaker 2: see if this is good. Like that was the one
- 34:42Speaker 2: time I really listened to him and went okay, but
- 34:45Speaker 2: kind of understand where you're coming from on this, that
- 34:48Speaker 2: this male friend who has been a little too involved
- 34:53Speaker 2: is going to drop everything and fly to Turkey just
- 34:57Speaker 2: to see if you're okay with me. And you think
- 35:01Speaker 2: that he's got no interests, This is very It seems
- 35:05Speaker 2: clear that yes, he does have an interest in her.
- 35:08Speaker 1: And she's allowing it. That's what he said, and I agree,
- 35:11Speaker 1: and she's allowing it. So if we don't, if we
- 35:14Speaker 1: break up, it's not his fault, it's her fault for
- 35:16Speaker 1: allowing it. And the truth is yes, like I agree.
- 35:18Speaker 1: But here's the thing. So they are having their little
- 35:21Speaker 1: day trip because you know, it's a whole thing for
- 35:23Speaker 1: them to go on separate trips after already their day
- 35:26Speaker 1: trip in the ancient ruins. By the way, it looks
- 35:28Speaker 1: absolutely beautiful. Yeah, those marbles from three thousand years ago.
- 35:33Speaker 1: They're at a place called Effius uh Ephesus.
- 35:37Speaker 2: Yeah, very very well maintained and beautiful historical site. The
- 35:43Speaker 2: idea is like, there was a bit where well when
- 35:46Speaker 2: she was explaining that her friend was going to come in,
- 35:50Speaker 2: and they were sitting in that little isolated area, and
- 35:53Speaker 2: there was this guy in like a Hawaiian shirt in
- 35:56Speaker 2: the background, out of focus, who kind of popped in
- 36:00Speaker 2: through this archway behind her. Who's it turns out he's
- 36:03Speaker 2: another tourist. I thought for a second it was her friend.
- 36:06Speaker 2: I thought I thought that he was just gonna walk up.
- 36:09Speaker 2: She's like, he's coming to visit. Oh, by the way,
- 36:12Speaker 2: here he is. And I was a little sad that
- 36:15Speaker 2: it wasn't, but the suggestion in my mind that it
- 36:19Speaker 2: could have been it was so rich.
- 36:22Speaker 1: That would have been great. I'm sorry that's a missed
- 36:24Speaker 1: opportunity because you're right. Instead of instead we get this
- 36:27Speaker 1: a phone call being like oh hi, uh so obviously
- 36:31Speaker 1: she tells, you know, beer Kan two things. I actually
- 36:33Speaker 1: don't know if I'm talked about the fact that, yes,
- 36:35Speaker 1: Lisa finally tells Daniel that like it's a woman. Daniel
- 36:38Speaker 1: loses his goddamn mind, and then Daniel like, you know,
- 36:40Speaker 1: I don't know, it's a thick of got her or whatever. Okay,
- 36:43Speaker 1: so because I loved okay, so, but with this situation,
- 36:47Speaker 1: she's like, Michael's coming and he's like, well, as I said,
- 36:49Speaker 1: that's shitty, and if I'm going to be in a
- 36:51Speaker 1: pissed off mood, and he is pouting, pouting, pat in
- 36:53Speaker 1: the entire time, as you say. And he shows up
- 36:57Speaker 1: not like you would have enjoyed, but in this way
- 36:59Speaker 1: where he calls and is like, yeah, I'm here, but
- 37:02Speaker 1: my hotel is I'm ready yet? And it's like, yeah,
- 37:04Speaker 1: that's what happens when you come at ten am. You know,
- 37:05Speaker 1: no one expects. So then she's like, can I come over?
- 37:08Speaker 1: And she's like yeah. So then he comes over and
- 37:11Speaker 1: he comes over with what I can only describe is
- 37:14Speaker 1: ned Flanders energy. He's like, yeah, I guess if anyone
- 37:19Speaker 1: be happy to see him.
- 37:21Speaker 2: The only thing that was missing on his head was
- 37:23Speaker 2: that Disneyland hat which like Goofy's nose on it with
- 37:28Speaker 2: the dangling ears, like he should have been wearing that
- 37:31Speaker 2: in a fanny pack. Because he just bursts in and
- 37:33Speaker 2: gives her a hug, and I swear his eyes were
- 37:37Speaker 2: focused straight on Bitercoun on the couch. It's like he's
- 37:41Speaker 2: walked in and he's like this, hugging her. Oh yeah,
- 37:45Speaker 2: I can't believe I'm here. I can't believe you're here. Beer,
- 37:49Speaker 2: just just staring forward watching Scarface, the whole thing of yeah,
- 37:54Speaker 2: you can come over here to where we are.
- 37:57Speaker 1: But I'm not question for you. Do you like violence?
- 38:04Speaker 1: We just think about what the f would you do?
- 38:07Speaker 2: I'd be like a man who doesn't blink, who's talking
- 38:11Speaker 2: to in a whisper, watching Scarface. The vape in his
- 38:14Speaker 2: hand turns so slowly anywhere you go? Do you like
- 38:17Speaker 2: the American classics? No? I like Wolence? Do you like Wiolence?
- 38:28Speaker 2: If he says yes, does does Betercon get up and
- 38:31Speaker 2: go like, all right, let's fight? Or is it just
- 38:35Speaker 2: the posturing there, the need to feel like an alpha
- 38:40Speaker 2: in your own home because this own home. Yeah, but
- 38:46Speaker 2: in the play in yours, in your space, like the
- 38:49Speaker 2: space that he's in gets invaded by Yeah, somebody else
- 38:53Speaker 2: bought for him.
- 38:54Speaker 1: I agree. I agree. It's just like and he's the
- 38:56Speaker 1: whole time, He's like, I could be gambling right now.
- 38:58Speaker 1: I know He's like, I that that was wild. I
- 39:02Speaker 1: really want Michael to have a full outfit kind of moment,
- 39:05Speaker 1: like I want Michael to like find a part of
- 39:07Speaker 1: him and then just like.
- 39:10Speaker 2: I I like to go to a wine tasting again,
- 39:13Speaker 2: because the wine tasting they went on after being in
- 39:16Speaker 2: a fesis or and he's just slamming shots of wine.
- 39:21Speaker 2: She's like, you're not tasting it, You're not enjoying it.
- 39:23Speaker 2: It's like, I'm miserable. It's like the idea of like,
- 39:27Speaker 2: I'm going to take Michael to a wine tasting now,
- 39:30Speaker 2: and the two of them just staring each other down
- 39:32Speaker 2: taking shots of Merleau would be so funny to see,
- 39:36Speaker 2: like a wine drunk bum fight on the streets of
- 39:39Speaker 2: Turkey over over her.
- 39:43Speaker 1: Like, who did have your money on? Who you have?
- 39:45Speaker 1: You're gambling? Have you are gambling?
- 39:48Speaker 2: Man?
- 39:48Speaker 1: If you are a beer con, are you putting your
- 39:50Speaker 1: beer conning on beer con?
- 39:51Speaker 2: Or are you they're on? Such a terrible gambler, he's
- 39:56Speaker 2: so bad at it.
- 39:57Speaker 1: Yeah, a good fight her, No.
- 40:00Speaker 2: I think I think that he talks a big game
- 40:02Speaker 2: and maybe maybe he'll win a fight against a man
- 40:08Speaker 2: who clearly looks like he can't defend himself. But with
- 40:12Speaker 2: enough drinks in him, all it takes is one ill
- 40:15Speaker 2: timed haymaker that Michael just ducks and he's down on
- 40:19Speaker 2: the ground.
- 40:20Speaker 1: Mm hmmm.
- 40:21Speaker 2: He just lands on his face and knocks himself out.
- 40:23Speaker 2: I think that's the more likely ending for him, is
- 40:26Speaker 2: he tries to get into a fight, tries to act tough,
- 40:29Speaker 2: tries to be scarface, and he knocks himself out. I
- 40:34Speaker 2: think that's what's in his future.
- 40:36Speaker 1: I listen, I agree. I also think that Elise. I
- 40:39Speaker 1: also think that I'm looking at my nose. I also
- 40:43Speaker 1: definitely think that Laura is going to have two men
- 40:47Speaker 1: fighting over her, which is probably like what her biggest
- 40:49Speaker 1: fantasy is, besides being a princess in some sort of
- 40:51Speaker 1: like castle and have some guy push her against a
- 40:54Speaker 1: wall and make out with her as a distraction.
- 40:59Speaker 2: Exactly like slammer into the wall.
- 41:01Speaker 1: I mean that's what she wants. I mean, that's what
- 41:03Speaker 1: she wants. I think it's not me, it's her. Okay,
- 41:07Speaker 1: So let's move on a lease and Josh and Chris,
- 41:09Speaker 1: let's just be honest. Chris, Uh, this is so crazy.
- 41:12Speaker 1: So obviously they're leaving the airport. They have to go
- 41:15Speaker 1: to the Melbourne Cup, the biggest event in Sydney, which
- 41:18Speaker 1: it's not some people in the bredit forms were like,
- 41:19Speaker 1: this is crazy. They're just going to a place to
- 41:21Speaker 1: watch event that's being filmed somewhere else. On the video,
- 41:24Speaker 1: the dress is skimpy as hell. I'm like, Howard, ho
- 41:26Speaker 1: does anything even stay? I didn't understand is there tape.
- 41:29Speaker 2: Any of her clothes on there? I'm like, how do
- 41:32Speaker 2: you pack it? How do you wear it? No Wonder
- 41:35Speaker 2: you're saying I'm cold when she said that she wasn't
- 41:37Speaker 2: wearing any underwear, and the car is so low to
- 41:40Speaker 2: the ground, like you clearly didn't plan for Chris to
- 41:45Speaker 2: be there. But also this line of we said we
- 41:48Speaker 2: were going to take it slow and not have sex
- 41:50Speaker 2: right away, Hey, doubtful, doubtful if you're going around with
- 41:55Speaker 2: No wonderwear on, and you're definitely they're both possible and
- 42:00Speaker 2: peacocking for each other, but the third element of his
- 42:03Speaker 2: best friend being his best friend and roommate being there
- 42:07Speaker 2: for the whole thing has major thropple energy.
- 42:11Speaker 1: Major I have thought about this now, I think that
- 42:14Speaker 1: they both definitely want to f her. This is Chris.
- 42:16Speaker 1: This is Chris, not Josh. This is Chris staring at her,
- 42:20Speaker 1: I mean with like eyes that is like you know.
- 42:22Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean that hungry women women.
- 42:25Speaker 1: As we said, women know when people like them, and yeah, listen,
- 42:29Speaker 1: I feel like this is my theory and you can
- 42:32Speaker 1: give me your professional theory too, and obviously you have
- 42:35Speaker 1: you know your guy, so you can like tell me.
- 42:37Speaker 1: But this is what I think. I think that Chris
- 42:40Speaker 1: is the alpha. I think Josh is his beta friend.
- 42:42Speaker 1: And I think that like you know, as they're just
- 42:44Speaker 1: like two drunk guys women around Australia. They're like, look,
- 42:47Speaker 1: who's I'm talking to the tall American? Look at her picture.
- 42:50Speaker 1: She's hot as hell, like Instagram and everything is like that.
- 42:52Speaker 1: So Chris is like, yeah, yeah, I think the current.
- 42:54Speaker 1: I think that Chris and him sort of think that
- 42:56Speaker 1: she's like Josh's pet, but also like Chris can like
- 42:59Speaker 1: get in there, and I think that Chris really is
- 43:01Speaker 1: like that's yeah, like you can't say no, we're both
- 43:03Speaker 1: staying there. Like I really think it's like a full
- 43:06Speaker 1: ploy to get her to be like in a throble
- 43:08Speaker 1: with them, and I think that Chris wants her to
- 43:10Speaker 1: be with him is as much as Josh, if not
- 43:13Speaker 1: making is like manipulating Josh to try and get I
- 43:16Speaker 1: mean like that this energy is intense for me, this
- 43:19Speaker 1: is intense energy. Even the woman, the even woman behind
- 43:22Speaker 1: him is like, oh my god, I can feel this
- 43:24Speaker 1: guy's intense stare from the back of his head.
- 43:27Speaker 2: You can get a restraining order for less than anything
- 43:30Speaker 2: that that he was. The fact that there's a painting
- 43:34Speaker 2: I get, a subtle oil portrait of him that is
- 43:38Speaker 2: hanging in the bedroom is so disturbing to me that
- 43:45Speaker 2: if you think about, is there any friend of yours
- 43:48Speaker 2: whose portrait you would hang in your bedroom, even as
- 43:52Speaker 2: a joke or even just leading into no, and then
- 43:57Speaker 2: go like, well, if it was like that energy of
- 43:59Speaker 2: if it is gonna be anyone, obviously would be him,
- 44:02Speaker 2: Like maybe it's you, Maybe you should be the one
- 44:05Speaker 2: in the painting that's in your room or adjacent to
- 44:08Speaker 2: your room, not this guy, but him, also going like
- 44:12Speaker 2: I just I bet an easy thousand. I always win
- 44:15Speaker 2: the Melbourne Cup. Nope, I just lost a thousand. Let's
- 44:17Speaker 2: go to the bar. Herb coming on a plane from
- 44:21Speaker 2: Miami and all the visa stuff getting denied before she
- 44:25Speaker 2: gets there, to getting there, to putting on this ridiculous outfit,
- 44:28Speaker 2: to hanging in a bar and then having to go
- 44:31Speaker 2: home with both of them anyway, and just that every
- 44:36Speaker 2: bit of the energy of it from the extreme bachelor
- 44:40Speaker 2: pad that they live in too. And I was on
- 44:44Speaker 2: her side a little bit. She had very simple requests
- 44:47Speaker 2: like I need a steamer, I need pillows, say things
- 44:51Speaker 2: like that, or like can there'd be space in the
- 44:54Speaker 2: closet for me, very reasonable requests that he could have
- 44:58Speaker 2: accommodated for the beginning, and that they didn't. But I
- 45:04Speaker 2: I would be I would want to lock on that
- 45:07Speaker 2: door because if I'm trying not to sleep with either
- 45:10Speaker 2: of them, well just right away, just be like, okay,
- 45:15Speaker 2: after meeting him, after meeting Chris, I would want to
- 45:19Speaker 2: bar the door, just to just to be sure that
- 45:24Speaker 2: this wolf isn't prowling just the doorknob away, but.
- 45:29Speaker 1: Truly things, because I wonder, like Chris is hot, you know,
- 45:32Speaker 1: like and Lisa is you know, I wonder if what
- 45:34Speaker 1: Alisa wants, sorry, what Elise wants, because I'm not one
- 45:37Speaker 1: hundred percent sure, Like, you know, I don't understand why
- 45:39Speaker 1: Josh would be so much more attractive than Chris. Like
- 45:43Speaker 1: they both just seem like two peas in a pod,
- 45:45Speaker 1: and you know, like it's a pod. They can't afford
- 45:47Speaker 1: all the time, you know so, but okay, so basically, yeah,
- 45:52Speaker 1: you as you said, he had lost and you know,
- 45:55Speaker 1: now she's just at their place and there's not enough towels,
- 45:59Speaker 1: and you know that there's one towel and they both
- 46:02Speaker 1: wipe their whole bodies with them, and so it's already
- 46:04Speaker 1: damp and left there and they're expecting her to use
- 46:06Speaker 1: that towel. And when she said only more towels, I
- 46:08Speaker 1: was like, oh my god. Number When he was like,
- 46:10Speaker 1: she gave me a list of things and I brought
- 46:12Speaker 1: the goldfish, I was.
- 46:14Speaker 2: Like, yeah, the whole time while she was on that flight,
- 46:21Speaker 2: you could just go down the road and pick up
- 46:24Speaker 2: a couple of towels, bath and beyond. It could have
- 46:27Speaker 2: done just even the minimum. And it speaks to his
- 46:31Speaker 2: beta energy a bit. But I feel like Chris is
- 46:34Speaker 2: really good at negging. I feel like his game must
- 46:36Speaker 2: be he negs really really hard. So the two of them,
- 46:42Speaker 2: on any given day, she might like the energy from
- 46:45Speaker 2: one versus the other. It's so strange now that they're
- 46:49Speaker 2: all in the same place, but it's like reality Dynamite
- 46:55Speaker 2: put them in a little two bedroom apartment with a
- 46:57Speaker 2: tiny bathroom and one towel and let's see.
- 47:00Speaker 1: What happens one pillow, one towel. Yeah, I'm excited. I
- 47:04Speaker 1: like her a little like cheeky good Night. I mean,
- 47:06Speaker 1: I just think there's a lot of sexual attention and
- 47:08Speaker 1: I don't know where it's going to happen first, but
- 47:10Speaker 1: I know Chris is a part of it. I just
- 47:11Speaker 1: can't fucking wait.
- 47:12Speaker 2: Probably next episode mm hmm.
- 47:15Speaker 1: I've been waiting for them those whole time, so we
- 47:17Speaker 1: better like come in and come in hard. I mean,
- 47:19Speaker 1: can you believe that we just got them? But we
- 47:21Speaker 1: have Rick and Trish is like a couple that I
- 47:25Speaker 1: almost can't even talk about anymore because he's so gross.
- 47:27Speaker 1: But he's obviously apprehensive and hesitating to meet her family
- 47:31Speaker 1: because he knows he's like no good piece of trash
- 47:32Speaker 1: and he doesn't want to have any more kids, and
- 47:34Speaker 1: she wants kids and she's beautiful and young, and he's
- 47:36Speaker 1: like put upon her, projected all of his insecurities and
- 47:38Speaker 1: jealousy and saying she has done things when in fact
- 47:41Speaker 1: he does, and then he comes clean and he's gross,
- 47:42Speaker 1: and for some reason, she's still with him, and I
- 47:44Speaker 1: wish that she would not be.
- 47:45Speaker 2: What do you think I wanted him to. I think
- 47:49Speaker 2: I said it out loud a few times watching it,
- 47:51Speaker 2: it's like, man, just get back to La. Just get
- 47:55Speaker 2: on that plane and go home. This is not going
- 47:59Speaker 2: from remotely the way that you think it's going or should.
- 48:04Speaker 2: And also just at fifty two, he might be as
- 48:08Speaker 2: old as her father. When when he meets her father,
- 48:13Speaker 2: and if there's one thing her fifty something, your old
- 48:18Speaker 2: father will smell, it's his desperation that he's a coward.
- 48:24Speaker 2: Because how many times did he did? He say like,
- 48:26Speaker 2: are you sure you want me to meet them? Are
- 48:28Speaker 2: you sure? Like? Am I the man you want them
- 48:30Speaker 2: to meet? He's asking for permission to be dumped?
- 48:35Speaker 1: Yes, And she picked up on it. She was like, yeah,
- 48:37Speaker 1: why do you keep asking? I've already said though I.
- 48:40Speaker 2: Already said it like and for her it's like, well,
- 48:42Speaker 2: I already told them you're here, so.
- 48:46Speaker 1: They're expecting you believe me. They don't know times Yeah,
- 48:49Speaker 1: yeah they know.
- 48:51Speaker 2: And it's annoying that he keep asking, And maybe I
- 48:54Speaker 2: don't want you to be the guy anymore. But also
- 48:59Speaker 2: it's easier for me to explain why it didn't work
- 49:01Speaker 2: out once they meet you, because there's it's just it's terrible.
- 49:07Speaker 2: They shouldn't be anywhere near each other.
- 49:09Speaker 1: No, he's so horrible and gross. And then something else
- 49:12Speaker 1: happens that's annoying, which is something happens off camera, and
- 49:14Speaker 1: that had happened earlier where they had gotten in a
- 49:16Speaker 1: fight off camera, but they referenced this thing where he's like, yeah,
- 49:19Speaker 1: and you're just constantly bringing up your ex and we're like,
- 49:21Speaker 1: we are you talking about and he's like, well, yeah, because
- 49:23Speaker 1: we were walking on the beach and then looked over
- 49:25Speaker 1: that restaurant. You were like, I like that restaurant. The
- 49:28Speaker 1: reason why I know I like it is because I
- 49:30Speaker 1: went there once with my ex and I was like,
- 49:32Speaker 1: shut up about you were actually bringing above all the time.
- 49:34Speaker 1: The restaurant's stupid, The restaurant's dumb. Tell me the restaurant's
- 49:38Speaker 1: domb And you were like, She's like, I like the
- 49:41Speaker 1: food at the rest I like the restaurant.
- 49:44Speaker 2: It's totally fine to like a place that you went
- 49:47Speaker 2: to with your ex. They they have You didn't make
- 49:52Speaker 2: the restaurant.
- 49:53Speaker 1: Restaurant. It isn't like the cooking from his family.
- 49:56Speaker 2: You know. It was like, you're dating Paris Hilton. You
- 49:58Speaker 2: break up with her, and then now you're like, well,
- 50:00Speaker 2: you know what, maybe I don't want to stay in
- 50:02Speaker 2: a in a Hilton anymore. This is just some place. Yeah, her,
- 50:06Speaker 2: her shut up energy is tremendous. I wanted to say
- 50:10Speaker 2: that with her. I did every time He's like, I
- 50:13Speaker 2: don't want to hear about your ex anymore. I don't
- 50:15Speaker 2: want to hear it anymore.
- 50:16Speaker 1: Shut up, you weird? Oh go back to selling hair.
- 50:24Speaker 1: So yeah, basically, then guess what, they get to go
- 50:28Speaker 1: on another plane ride. So yeah, like they get to
- 50:31Speaker 1: go on a plane ride. It's very silent. They self
- 50:32Speaker 1: plan filament. They won't even talk to each other. They're
- 50:34Speaker 1: going to get to the parents that he's going to rip.
- 50:37Speaker 2: His backpack buckled all the way up at the top,
- 50:41Speaker 2: like a little kid who's afraid the bully's gonna pull.
- 50:44Speaker 1: Him from the back danceport.
- 50:45Speaker 2: Yeah, like JanSport clip that nobody ever uses, but he did.
- 50:49Speaker 2: And he's not a small guy. Just exaggerates how oh yeah,
- 50:58Speaker 2: oh no, it's it is.
- 51:01Speaker 1: Literally a flex. Oh no, okay, well, thank you for
- 51:04Speaker 1: thank you. So this is my favorite thing, and I'm
- 51:07Speaker 1: gonna tell you right now this is my favorite part.
- 51:08Speaker 1: This is my thing. Emma has given us a whole situation,
- 51:12Speaker 1: and then in this this episode alone, I'm gonna tell
- 51:15Speaker 1: her that she gets what she wants and that someone
- 51:17Speaker 1: falls in love with her, and that person's an Arab
- 51:19Speaker 1: person and that person's me. I love her so much.
- 51:23Speaker 1: In this episode, I will bury her like I never
- 51:26Speaker 1: loved her as much. I was like, oh, I think
- 51:27Speaker 1: that she was funny or whatever, but for some reason,
- 51:30Speaker 1: every face she gave me and every moment was great.
- 51:33Speaker 1: Let's start, she's doing a confessional and then Mohammed calls
- 51:36Speaker 1: and the producers like who's calling? And then she goes
- 51:38Speaker 1: like this, don't be mad. Some reason that will be
- 51:45Speaker 1: because it was like who you're acting like? This producer
- 51:47Speaker 1: is like you're like big sis and a sorority, Like
- 51:50Speaker 1: what do you mean? Doing like that? Already made me
- 51:52Speaker 1: so happy. I was like, don't be mad. And then
- 51:55Speaker 1: she's like Mohammed and like yeah, she tells us this
- 51:58Speaker 1: whole story and like look at her, like I love
- 52:01Speaker 1: every one of these faces. He picks up a drink
- 52:04Speaker 1: and then she smirks and gives like an eye like
- 52:07Speaker 1: look what I fucking did for you guys, for your producers.
- 52:10Speaker 1: By the way talk about a raise. You think you
- 52:12Speaker 1: deserve a raise, I deserve a raise. And I literally
- 52:14Speaker 1: am like, oh my god, this is where I was like,
- 52:16Speaker 1: Emma should be on Single Life. I want to see
- 52:18Speaker 1: her on Hunt for Love. I absolutely want to see
- 52:19Speaker 1: her like have power and you like being it because
- 52:22Speaker 1: I absolutely love her now for ae hundred percent reason.
- 52:24Speaker 1: So she basically still shows up a bunch of a
- 52:26Speaker 1: bunch of texts, right, She's like.
- 52:28Speaker 2: I love holding up the WhatsApp feed to it. Yeah,
- 52:33Speaker 2: I message feed like you're not gonna believe where I am.
- 52:35Speaker 2: Omg hahahaa.
- 52:37Speaker 1: Yes. So the first one, I'm gonna put a zayad right,
- 52:40Speaker 1: so she was like hot zayaed and iiety was like
- 52:42Speaker 1: I hate myself because I was with a girl like
- 52:44Speaker 1: you lie and everything it's bad. You had name Emma
- 52:46Speaker 1: Angelina Rodmon. And then okay, so she's like, you don't
- 52:50Speaker 1: care that I'm a girl here all on the country,
- 52:52Speaker 1: that I'm not from all the sau you have not
- 52:54Speaker 1: a girl. You're a monster. I'm a monster for what
- 52:56Speaker 1: telling you the truth? And so like she's like fuck you.
- 52:58Speaker 1: But then different App so okay, God blessed Differ Napp
- 53:01Speaker 1: the Mohammed comes up.
- 53:02Speaker 2: Guess it is what's at the university?
- 53:07Speaker 1: Guess?
- 53:07Speaker 2: Or I am okay, hope you have fun?
- 53:10Speaker 1: Yeah that part Morocco, Lol, okay, lol, hope you have fun.
- 53:15Speaker 1: And then this is eleven thirty four, so you're like, okay,
- 53:17Speaker 1: that's not an inventation. Sometime later eleven fifty five, where
- 53:23Speaker 1: are you now, Marrakesh? But I would rather be here
- 53:26Speaker 1: with you? Why what happened? And then honey, that's when
- 53:29Speaker 1: he fucking calls her? And I mean, I'm so excited
- 53:32Speaker 1: for her. Guess who's not excited for her? Maddie. She
- 53:35Speaker 1: calls her friend Maddie. I'm like, who's Maddie? I never
- 53:37Speaker 1: heard of Maddy? Where's your sister? Why don't you call
- 53:38Speaker 1: your sister? I feels like your sister, your twin sister
- 53:40Speaker 1: should be like in a phone call right now? Was
- 53:42Speaker 1: she busy? What's happening? They both have the jobs. And
- 53:46Speaker 1: this is also an lol funny thing. And I hate
- 53:48Speaker 1: to say this, but this is true. And I've listen,
- 53:50Speaker 1: Emma's gotten a lot of work done. But Emma looks
- 53:52Speaker 1: at her friend on a FaceTime and she's like, can
- 53:55Speaker 1: you tell I'm sad? In my eyes.
- 53:59Speaker 2: I couldn't. No, I could. I could tell that her
- 54:05Speaker 2: wigs seemed like it was slipping, but I couldn't tell
- 54:10Speaker 2: that there's a single emotion going on in there. It's
- 54:12Speaker 2: like the oh my god, I'm so exhausted.
- 54:15Speaker 1: Yes, but then she ries. Then she's like, she's like,
- 54:19Speaker 1: I'm can you tell I'm sad in my eyes? I
- 54:23Speaker 1: wasn't so, but then she like, it's.
- 54:26Speaker 2: One of those I have really long nails, and my
- 54:29Speaker 2: crying is I'm going to touch where a tear would
- 54:31Speaker 2: be because it covers my eyes so I can squint
- 54:33Speaker 2: like this and it looks like I'm crying. I don't.
- 54:35Speaker 2: I couldn't tell if there were any actual tears there.
- 54:37Speaker 2: But I love the commitment. It was incredible.
- 54:43Speaker 1: I love her, you know, like I think that she's
- 54:45Speaker 1: so great. She like you know, had gotten you know,
- 54:47Speaker 1: another riod right away, and she had these like you
- 54:50Speaker 1: know guys you know bring her stuff for in for her,
- 54:52Speaker 1: you know, which was nice. I do I keep putting
- 54:57Speaker 1: them up, you know? Anyway. I love that. I but
- 55:00Speaker 1: then yes, so Maddie says this, and I thought it
- 55:04Speaker 1: was really good best friend energy. She says, you're a catch.
- 55:06Speaker 1: It for him to act like you're a gremlin, it's crazy.
- 55:12Speaker 1: You're a catch. It for him to act like a gremlin,
- 55:13Speaker 1: You're sorry, you're a catch. And for him to act
- 55:16Speaker 1: like you're a gremlin, it's crazy. And it's like, yeah,
- 55:20Speaker 1: he acted like she's a gremlin is so funny. It's
- 55:23Speaker 1: also such a reference. I'm like, you guys are so
- 55:25Speaker 1: young for that reference.
- 55:26Speaker 2: Yeah, I know. That reference also is like gremlins are
- 55:30Speaker 2: that's fun Like to me, I was like, ah, I
- 55:32Speaker 2: like gremlins. Oh wait, you mean it in a bad way.
- 55:35Speaker 2: You don't mean in like gizmo way.
- 55:38Speaker 1: They're the ones that you put water on and they die, right, yeah,
- 55:41Speaker 1: just like the Wicked Witch of you know, but not
- 55:43Speaker 1: really and or depending on if the water works or not,
- 55:46Speaker 1: you know, for that, for that one, they.
- 55:47Speaker 2: Become monsters if you put water on that. It's great.
- 55:51Speaker 2: Everybody should go watch Gremlins, Dante's Finest.
- 55:56Speaker 1: Maddie says, So she basically obviously is like, guess what
- 55:58Speaker 1: I'm gonna hang out with Mohammed, And Maddie's like, Mohammed
- 56:01Speaker 1: was just as bad, be done with him and Morocco.
- 56:04Speaker 1: And then Maddie says, are you going there for closure
- 56:07Speaker 1: or to rekindle the relationship and engagement. Now, I mean
- 56:10Speaker 1: that is first of all, you know the answer, Maddie.
- 56:13Speaker 1: You are know the answer. And even if this girl
- 56:15Speaker 1: with that wig is going to be like closure, blink blink,
- 56:18Speaker 1: we all know it's not closure, and there's not going
- 56:20Speaker 1: to be a time that never has to happen.
- 56:23Speaker 2: There are too many episodes left in this season, and
- 56:26Speaker 2: she hasn't gotten on a plane back. There's gonna be
- 56:30Speaker 2: a lot, whether it's with Mohammed is somebody else. She's
- 56:33Speaker 2: not leaving Morocco without another situation coming up.
- 56:38Speaker 1: My favorite part is then also Maddie starts to cry.
- 56:41Speaker 1: Maddie's like, I'm just I don't want it to be hurt,
- 56:44Speaker 1: and then Emma has to comfort her, who's upset about
- 56:49Speaker 1: the decisions she's making, Like, I just like it blew
- 56:52Speaker 1: my mind. I was like, don't worry Maddie about me
- 56:55Speaker 1: ruining my life. I don't you know, You're just like,
- 56:58Speaker 1: it's so funny to me. I I loved it.
- 57:04Speaker 2: It was I by the end of it, I want
- 57:09Speaker 2: like you were like you're saying, she's she's angling for
- 57:12Speaker 2: her own show. I think she'll get it, she'll be
- 57:14Speaker 2: on another one. I have no idea which way it's
- 57:20Speaker 2: going to go for her for these the rest of
- 57:23Speaker 2: this season, but I'm I'm honestly fascinated for when they
- 57:26Speaker 2: get to the reunion special of who's going to be
- 57:29Speaker 2: on that TV? All of them? All of them?
- 57:33Speaker 1: And I want I want even Zayad's friend. Remember how
- 57:36Speaker 1: the z I like the Chris version of Zion, Yes,
- 57:40Speaker 1: friend that was also obsessed with, like I want am
- 57:42Speaker 1: I want everyone to come back. I'm so happy with her.
- 57:44Speaker 2: Thank you monitors right behind her head.
- 57:46Speaker 1: Yes, it'll be I want a peanut gallery a little uh,
- 57:49Speaker 1: I want it all. That's the end of the episode.
- 57:51Speaker 1: Let me just say this, obviously, I love you so much.
- 57:53Speaker 1: Thank you so much for being on this. Do you
- 57:56Speaker 1: do you? Yeah? I want you to come back. What
- 57:58Speaker 1: do we talk about? Javon and oh no, but they
- 58:02Speaker 1: were oh my god, oh my god, Analine, I'm so sorry.
- 58:06Speaker 1: Wait I meto. I hope her Cat's okay, meet it
- 58:10Speaker 1: with a cone? Honey. Well, let me get this. First
- 58:13Speaker 1: of all, I totally forgot this. But then I'm so
- 58:15Speaker 1: sorry I had to skipped over them because I wanted
- 58:16Speaker 1: to get Rick and Trisha out of the wingsthing like them,
- 58:18Speaker 1: I forgot to go back. Okay. So Anneline's mom is
- 58:21Speaker 1: the cutest woman. I love her so much. Look at
- 58:23Speaker 1: these circle glasses, look at those beautiful eyebrows, look at
- 58:25Speaker 1: that supple skin, and look at her just saying broken promises, honey,
- 58:29Speaker 1: because that's what she knows and that's what she wants
- 58:31Speaker 1: to call out. She's like, I will cook for you food.
- 58:34Speaker 1: But like, at the same time, you're going to answer
- 58:36Speaker 1: this goddamn question, is what are you going to do
- 58:37Speaker 1: with my daughter who's been waiting for you? And just
- 58:39Speaker 1: you think you're going to be here two weeks and
- 58:42Speaker 1: gross be a man yours?
- 58:44Speaker 2: Yeah, seven years that they were. Yes, this has been
- 58:48Speaker 2: going on. And when she said that he didn't even
- 58:51Speaker 2: apply for the spousal visa, my heartbroke. He doesn't. This
- 58:56Speaker 2: is the first time he's gone to the Philippines in
- 58:58Speaker 2: the whole time, Like, what are you what exactly are
- 59:02Speaker 2: you doing? And what are you in this for? Like
- 59:05Speaker 2: the messes he leaves around the house, like his clothes
- 59:08Speaker 2: on the ground and he's just sitting there on his phone.
- 59:12Speaker 2: She's doing laundry, taking care of all this, He's just
- 59:14Speaker 2: laying there on his phone. And what I loved was
- 59:19Speaker 2: when he tries to say, I've been working so hard
- 59:23Speaker 2: doing all like putting an extra being super romantic. You
- 59:27Speaker 2: took her to a pedicure, but you clowned on the
- 59:33Speaker 2: business the moment you walked in. Nobody asked you to
- 59:37Speaker 2: comment on the decor. And they had like these ladies
- 59:39Speaker 2: who had accessorized everything in shades of pick. It worked
- 59:42Speaker 2: real hard to get those outfits to match the wall
- 59:45Speaker 2: and everything to be that that kind of Barbie dreamhouse.
- 59:48Speaker 2: Vive props to them. And then he goes in there
- 59:51Speaker 2: with his his yellow toenails. It's weird. It's weird attitude,
- 59:56Speaker 2: go like, am I getting extra points? Like romance points?
- 1:00:01Speaker 2: And well, she threw that towel in his face and says,
- 1:00:07Speaker 2: don't come home ever.
- 1:00:09Speaker 1: Can you imagine you said this? And it's so true.
- 1:00:11Speaker 1: He is just leaving his dirty socks everywhere. He has
- 1:00:15Speaker 1: never touched his feet, and he has the audacity to
- 1:00:18Speaker 1: tell her that she's getting too comfortable, that she's getting
- 1:00:21Speaker 1: too that she's getting to she's too comfortable, she's too
- 1:00:25Speaker 1: comfor Are you insane? She's like, yeah, I mean I
- 1:00:28Speaker 1: kind of wish they would just like either they really
- 1:00:31Speaker 1: keep hitting the like the Alpha podcasts or whatever, and
- 1:00:34Speaker 1: he very much is like, no, those are just all
- 1:00:36Speaker 1: of my ideas. But you know I at the same time,
- 1:00:39Speaker 1: I'm like, you're gonna have to like, here, we're gonna
- 1:00:41Speaker 1: have a scene of him watching or listening to this
- 1:00:43Speaker 1: stuff because it's just weird that you keep because I
- 1:00:46Speaker 1: also want to say something those things exist, but it's
- 1:00:49Speaker 1: also like him as an adult male making whatever choices
- 1:00:52Speaker 1: he's making. So I'm like, stop talking about the podcast.
- 1:00:55Speaker 1: Because if she's there's Fox News every there's every whatever everywhere, she's.
- 1:01:00Speaker 2: Not living with you when you're back in the US
- 1:01:05Speaker 2: and it's just you. What does your house look like?
- 1:01:10Speaker 2: Do you do laundry? Do you clean anything up? Are
- 1:01:14Speaker 2: you capable of doing anything? Is this just your toxic
- 1:01:17Speaker 2: masculine fantasy of I'm on vacation with my kind of wife,
- 1:01:22Speaker 2: so I'm leaving things around for her to do while
- 1:01:25Speaker 2: I lay down. But what do you do at your
- 1:01:29Speaker 2: own house? Do you have are you hiring people to
- 1:01:31Speaker 2: come and clean things? I don't think he's got the
- 1:01:34Speaker 2: means to do anything, but he's he's like, no, interest
- 1:01:40Speaker 2: in being in the Philippines, in the culture, in her mom,
- 1:01:45Speaker 2: who's there trying to sweetly say like, oh, you should
- 1:01:48Speaker 2: stay for at least a year, like two weeks isn't enough.
- 1:01:52Speaker 2: She gets the measure of him so quickly that that
- 1:01:56Speaker 2: broken promises picture of yours hits so hard because you
- 1:02:01Speaker 2: know that she wants the best for her daughter and
- 1:02:04Speaker 2: clearly can tell that he ain't it. Whatever he is,
- 1:02:08Speaker 2: I don't know what he is, but her standing up
- 1:02:10Speaker 2: her toilet breaker.
- 1:02:12Speaker 1: Yeah, he breaks promises, he breaks toilets. He does understand
- 1:02:15Speaker 1: how to, like, you know, use toilet paper in a
- 1:02:17Speaker 1: different country, like no, no, no, no, no no. I yeah,
- 1:02:22Speaker 1: that whole situation was hard, but yeah, I love him.
- 1:02:25Speaker 2: Chat to be like, your mom's always this bossy kind
- 1:02:29Speaker 2: of thing, I talking around her as if she isn't
- 1:02:31Speaker 2: there to be like this is a weird kind of flirtation.
- 1:02:34Speaker 2: I don't know. But the fact that for him saying
- 1:02:37Speaker 2: we're gonna go to get a manicure or pedicure is
- 1:02:42Speaker 2: this big romantic gesture when he's done everything wrong and
- 1:02:47Speaker 2: she's fed up with him, and her mom clearly is
- 1:02:51Speaker 2: disappointed in him. His big thing is, let's go to
- 1:02:55Speaker 2: a let's go to a salon, and I'll make fun
- 1:02:58Speaker 2: of it, and I'll make fun of you. But I'm
- 1:03:01Speaker 2: working so hard. I'm doing everything i can. Like you haven't.
- 1:03:06Speaker 2: You haven't done anything. You left the house once.
- 1:03:10Speaker 1: Yeah, he's he's not a fun person. I wish that
- 1:03:13Speaker 1: she would also realize that, Like she's fun, so she
- 1:03:16Speaker 1: like needs someone who can like not be a black
- 1:03:18Speaker 1: hole of it, you know, like be absorb it like
- 1:03:20Speaker 1: weird and not reflect any back. I mean, it's just
- 1:03:23Speaker 1: a lot to like be a joyful person and then
- 1:03:25Speaker 1: just have someone just like.
- 1:03:28Speaker 2: She could do so much better than him, and he
- 1:03:31Speaker 2: will never do better than her. There's no way that
- 1:03:36Speaker 2: he could. And you'd think that he would recognize that
- 1:03:40Speaker 2: and do everything that he can to maintain his relationship
- 1:03:46Speaker 2: just or just do a little bit more to show
- 1:03:50Speaker 2: it is like, hey, I actually do love you and
- 1:03:53Speaker 2: I am in this not oh, I'm not going to
- 1:03:56Speaker 2: do anything.
- 1:03:57Speaker 1: He's too comfortable that The thing is like the thing
- 1:03:59Speaker 1: about it is funny is like the literal thing he
- 1:04:01Speaker 1: says to her is how he he is too comfortable.
- 1:04:04Speaker 1: And so at this point I'm like, okay, then fine,
- 1:04:05Speaker 1: please watch men. I need. I need. I want him
- 1:04:08Speaker 1: to watch men hit on her, you know, I want.
- 1:04:10Speaker 1: I mean because she's hot as hell, Like, she's very beautiful,
- 1:04:12Speaker 1: and her mom is very beautiful. She's gonna aage into like,
- 1:04:15Speaker 1: you know, a goddesslike situation. So I whatever, I just
- 1:04:18Speaker 1: think me it was hard and I felt bad for
- 1:04:21Speaker 1: the person that to give him the pedicure because I
- 1:04:22Speaker 1: don't think that person got tipped.
- 1:04:23Speaker 2: Well, the cheese grater on his foot, no, and the
- 1:04:28Speaker 2: just level of crap that was coming off of it.
- 1:04:32Speaker 2: I don't think he's ever washed his feet in his life.
- 1:04:34Speaker 2: I don't know that they've been in water.
- 1:04:36Speaker 1: Remember, Oh my god, I forgot about that for Yeah,
- 1:04:39Speaker 1: his fucking gross sad. I'm so sorry.
- 1:04:41Speaker 2: It looks like they took good, like one of those really.
- 1:04:43Speaker 1: Bad that She was like, oh my god, how are
- 1:04:45Speaker 1: you alive? With that smell coming from.
- 1:04:48Speaker 2: I was worried it would be like popping, the popping
- 1:04:50Speaker 2: in their mouth or eyes or something. It looked like
- 1:04:53Speaker 2: you take one of those like two pound chocolate bars
- 1:04:57Speaker 2: from Trader Joe's and then great that say, the level,
- 1:05:01Speaker 2: the thickness, the dirt that was coming off of his
- 1:05:04Speaker 2: feet and he's like, oh, yeah, this is nice. I'm
- 1:05:11Speaker 2: being self care as something. Just cleanliness is something.
- 1:05:15Speaker 1: But hygiene could be fun. I mean turns out, but
- 1:05:18Speaker 1: I'm listen, I'm half of him. He's like, how are
- 1:05:20Speaker 1: you working at an old folks home? But that is
- 1:05:23Speaker 1: the end of the episode, And at the same time,
- 1:05:26Speaker 1: it's not the end of the season, and you know,
- 1:05:28Speaker 1: at the same it's not the end of us our friendship.
- 1:05:31Speaker 1: Are are watching of the show or our study of
- 1:05:34Speaker 1: human behavior? You know? So a lot to like unpack,
- 1:05:38Speaker 1: but I think, yeah, as an actor or whatever, you like,
- 1:05:41Speaker 1: do you like watching this stuff? And it's being like, well,
- 1:05:42Speaker 1: how are you doing it?
- 1:05:43Speaker 2: Why?
- 1:05:44Speaker 1: Why? Or I don't know, do you think of it
- 1:05:45Speaker 1: like that kind of stuff.
- 1:05:46Speaker 2: It's a fun exercise to to try because when you're acting,
- 1:05:51Speaker 2: you're performing as somebody else. You're slipping into somebody else's
- 1:05:54Speaker 2: skin and trying to find that logic behind every line
- 1:05:58Speaker 2: that you say that is justified, but there's some core
- 1:06:00Speaker 2: belief that is tied to everything that you say, And
- 1:06:04Speaker 2: watching every one of them, I'm seriously wondering, what is
- 1:06:09Speaker 2: that essential thing that they truly believe, because like with yeah,
- 1:06:17Speaker 2: that that's probably it for all of them.
- 1:06:20Speaker 1: Well, I think that's Lisa's like. I think that Lisa
- 1:06:22Speaker 1: is like, how not to dialoon? I can't dial on?
- 1:06:24Speaker 2: I want to dial Yeah, she says it. The the
- 1:06:29Speaker 2: I'm worthy of love is is what she vocalizes, is
- 1:06:34Speaker 2: that I just haven't. I keep trying. I haven't found
- 1:06:37Speaker 2: the right person yet. But I'm worthy of love and
- 1:06:39Speaker 2: I'm going to find my forever love is what she says.
- 1:06:43Speaker 2: But the I don't want to die alone is the
- 1:06:47Speaker 2: more functional reality of just seeing how her daughter, how
- 1:06:52Speaker 2: tenuous things are with her daughter, that at any point,
- 1:06:56Speaker 2: Faith could throw her hands up and say I can't.
- 1:06:58Speaker 2: I just can't do that anymore.
- 1:07:01Speaker 1: And she should and freeze.
- 1:07:03Speaker 2: Her out for I don't know if she could do it.
- 1:07:04Speaker 2: I hope she does forever. But they need to be
- 1:07:08Speaker 2: a part. For sure.
- 1:07:10Speaker 1: Faith's going to go on a journey of healing, and
- 1:07:12Speaker 1: I'm hoping that maybe just watching, having watched the show
- 1:07:15Speaker 1: and having heard people's opinions on how she needs to
- 1:07:18Speaker 1: save herself from this woman, will give her the validation
- 1:07:21Speaker 1: and confidence to make a big step. Because it's very
- 1:07:23Speaker 1: hard to cut off your mom.
- 1:07:25Speaker 2: Yeah, very very hard to do. It's an impossible situation
- 1:07:29Speaker 2: to be in. It watching someone you love totally lose
- 1:07:36Speaker 2: touch with reality.
- 1:07:37Speaker 1: And just I want to drag you down, and.
- 1:07:40Speaker 2: Yeah, drag like holding on to you for dear life
- 1:07:43Speaker 2: at the same time. And it's really hard to let
- 1:07:47Speaker 2: go with Daniel. You just know that once the shock
- 1:07:52Speaker 2: wears off of if he decides, you know what, Lisa
- 1:08:00Speaker 2: was so much it's not worth sticking around for, he's
- 1:08:04Speaker 2: going to jump right back on Facebook and he's going
- 1:08:07Speaker 2: to send more messages to some other white lady. I
