- 0:00Smila Rahman, Raheem Salaam Alaikum, and welcome back to
- 0:03your favorite Shia Muslim podcast After Mahmoud.
- 0:06If you tuned in last week, you'd have benefited from a very, very
- 0:10beneficial episode discussing the Munajat of Shahbania.
- 0:14And I did say to the guest that we had on, who was an amazing
- 0:16guest, by the way. It was as if we had a commentary
- 0:19on the Munajat of Shahbania. And I do want to say one thing,
- 0:23though we are on the vibes of Shahban.
- 0:25In about a day or two, we are going to be celebrating the
- 0:29auspicious birth of Imam Sahab al afterward Zaman I'd Allah
- 0:33dalla farja Sharif. But before I go and go deeper,
- 0:36before I shake hands with you, I want to say two things.
- 0:40If you haven't hit the subscribe button, smash that subscribe
- 0:43button. But more importantly, if you
- 0:45support and you love the work that we do on the content that
- 0:47we release, please consider becoming a partner from as
- 0:51little as 5 British pounds Salaam.
- 1:03I think I'm Salah. I was told to mention the
- 1:05partnership. Yeah, and 5 British pounds,
- 1:07wherever you are in the world, any currency, any support we you
- 1:10you can give. Brun sisters will go a long way.
- 1:13But before we go any further, Brun sisters, massive
- 1:15congratulations to the whole Omar and of course to none other
- 1:19than the awaited Imam and Mehdi Anjal Allahu to Allah Faraj
- 1:22Sharif on his birthday on this suspicious occasion.
- 1:25Another year where we celebrate the Imam and of course we speak
- 1:28about the awaited Imam at every opportunity we can.
- 1:31We link it back to him on a week to week basis.
- 1:33But today we want to give as much attention and brothers,
- 1:36sisters, we've grown up hearing about the Imam.
- 1:39You know, the majority of us have been born and raised in the
- 1:41Shia community and we've had the absolute pleasure to hear about
- 1:44the Imam on on a weekly basis, on on a regular basis on on our
- 1:50the member and through interactions with friends and
- 1:53family. But today, brother, sisters, we
- 1:55are going to talk about the awaited Imam in a way you have
- 1:58not heard. An incredibly unconventional
- 2:01fresh discussion, inshallah, on our awaited Imam.
- 2:05And we have someone very dear, very special to us.
- 2:08The last time we saw our respected scholar, he was also
- 2:11talking about the Imam, and this was in.
- 2:13Subhan Allah, this was in. Vancouver.
- 2:15In Toronto, yeah. In Canada, yeah.
- 2:17Subhan Allah, unfortunately I wasn't there but said you had a
- 2:19great conversation. You were there in spirit.
- 2:21I did and I benefited so much and it is online and Subhan
- 2:24Allah till today I still see people engaging.
- 2:27On that episode, amazing, amazing conversation.
- 2:29Let's spill the means. I sent him so we have none other
- 2:32than our dear respect. Say it.
- 2:34Muhammad Bakhar Kazwini saw Ali Hussein.
- 2:36Ali Kumar Salaam al Ahmad Allahi or Barakatto al Hamdulillah.
- 2:41So much for joining us. Thank you for, for, for spending
- 2:45your time with us. I know you've just returned from
- 2:47Amara. Congratulations.
- 2:49How was it? Thank you al Hamdulillah.
- 2:51It was a beautiful Amara. It was very crowded.
- 2:55It gave me the Haj vibes. In fact, I could safely state
- 2:59that it was busier than Haj, the Tawaf, the Sai, Medina, Mecca
- 3:05flocking with mwatamarine and visitors.
- 3:09And just yesterday, as I was sitting in front of the Kaaba, I
- 3:16imagined and visualized Imam al Mehdi Ajah al Afar Ajah
- 3:21standing, having his back to the Kaaba and giving his speech to
- 3:26the world as al Imam al Baqar Ali Salam documents it in one of
- 3:30our hadiths. So visualizing that at the Kaaba
- 3:34was surreal for me. Yesterday will be having the
- 3:43opportunity to go together. Fingers crossed that does
- 3:47happen. That would be an amazing,
- 3:49amazing spiritual, spiritual experience for us.
- 3:52And I just want to add something to Ahmed that means a lot for
- 3:55you to be here personally, on a personal level.
- 3:58And I'm someone who I can say, and Ahmed knows this, we always
- 4:01reference you during our conversations.
- 4:03You've played a huge role in our lives.
- 4:06You possibly don't know about this, but all my friends in my
- 4:09circle, they'll say the same thing.
- 4:11And the handler, I will say my wife can attest to this almost
- 4:14on a daily basis. Let's say Mohammed Baker.
- 4:16Yeah, because when you're playing in the background, so.
- 4:19So you get these constant headaches from me then?
- 4:21Of course not. Thank you.
- 4:24I really appreciate. That on a journey together
- 4:26towards a. Loss.
- 4:27Do you know what it is? You.
- 4:27It's my honor. Thank.
- 4:29You content and we have to shout out our brothers at Thakalain
- 4:31Media who of course have worked with us on aftermarket in the
- 4:34past and the many centers which and of course your own social
- 4:37media Marshall, but the many centers who have put out your
- 4:41content. It's so engaging and you've been
- 4:44able to provide content to our community, which is not like
- 4:47just recreational and engaging, but also is gripping and
- 4:52insightful. Like we're now gaining knowledge
- 4:55but having fun at the same time. And it's because of the, and I
- 4:58mean this from my heart. I was quizzing you, of course,
- 4:59before the podcast about things that you've mentioned in some of
- 5:02your lessons, but we're able to now understand core principles
- 5:07of Shiism in a condensed video most of the time, and we love
- 5:12it. Hamdallahara bin Laden, we're so
- 5:14lucky to have you and we're really honoured so.
- 5:16Thank you, it's my honour. I appreciate that this is all
- 5:19from the Baraka of Allah, Subhanahu Attada and the service
- 5:22of Ehde Bait and I ask you sincerely for this, ask a lot to
- 5:27never take away the service from me.
- 5:30Inshallah. Inshallah to the grave.
- 5:33Inshallah. To the grave, the long the way
- 5:35you live, say, isn't it? I have one question to ask
- 5:37inshallah before we actually dive in to the discussion.
- 5:41Why don't you have social media? Why?
- 5:43Why can I not find say the Muhammad as we need on
- 5:46Instagram? Saying MBQ is on all social
- 5:49media but not his own page. But every page should reshare
- 5:52your lectures, but not your own page.
- 5:55That's a very good question. A lot of people have asked me
- 5:58that. So do I have a problem with
- 6:00social media? Of course not.
- 6:02Yes, I do have concerns with social media.
- 6:04Social media is a very powerful tool.
- 6:06It's like a knife. It depends on how you use it,
- 6:09and I'm sure you've all seen how much damage it can do to the
- 6:13youth when it's misused. It's not used appropriately or
- 6:16productively. But one primary reason why I
- 6:20don't have social media is that the point in having such a
- 6:25platform is to deliver the message of the Quran and Adel
- 6:30bait to the people. So if there are other pages that
- 6:34are delivering that content to the people, I did not really
- 6:39find it necessary to have my own page and my own name to deliver
- 6:44that because the goal is achieved.
- 6:46As long as, alhamdulillah, people are benefiting from this
- 6:48content, that's what I hope for. So why do I need to have a page
- 6:54in my own name if it's already, you know, achieving that?
- 6:59So that's really one reason why I've stayed away from social
- 7:03media personally, even though I do support these platforms and
- 7:07all these wonderful institutions that are providing this
- 7:10excellent content from around the world from many speakers and
- 7:13scholars. Yeah, yeah, I.
- 7:15Sent them saying that. Beautiful.
- 7:16I'm thinking about deactivating. Your your private 1 though, not
- 7:23the aftermath of one. Yeah, no, we'd have an issue if
- 7:27you wanted to deactivate. That one I'm knocking on my
- 7:29door. Honestly, I said so, so let's
- 7:33get stuck in in Charlotte. So look around the world,
- 7:36communities, families are celebrating in Hamdullah.
- 7:40This is the most blessed day and we are celebrating the birth of
- 7:43our awaited Imam. I just love our nutrition.
- 7:47And of course, it's a beautiful time of year, I think not just
- 7:50because we are celebrating his birth, but at the same time
- 7:53there are miles that we do on the 15th night of Shahaban and
- 7:56we are preparing our souls for the for the coming of
- 7:58Shahramadhan at this time of year.
- 8:02There are also many other things, of course, which
- 8:03happened on the 15th of Shahaban, one of which is the I
- 8:07mean we say that not just the birth of the Holy Imam, but also
- 8:12the beginning of Reberto Lukobarat.
- 8:14This is when the 4th Safir, the 4th, the last of the Safarah of
- 8:18the holy of Imam. The the deputies, as we can say
- 8:22during his labour passed away. Abu Abu Hassan a summary and we
- 8:27know from our traditions that dopeyard the letters that the
- 8:30Imam had with his deputies that he warned his fourth deputy of
- 8:35of his death and he told his his deputy that after after you,
- 8:40there will be no more. And there will be a long period
- 8:43where the hearts of people will become hard and rigid and there
- 8:47will be a difficult time of filled with injustice until the
- 8:50Seiha comes, the call comes and the Sofiani rises, if I'm not
- 8:54mistaken. So what I wanted to understand,
- 8:57especially I think for us to understand the Imam, we need to
- 9:01understand, I think what he intended for us.
- 9:05And it's a conversation we need to frequently revisit,
- 9:07especially at this time of year when the Imam Aleh Salaam was
- 9:11speaking to his safarah. And when he was writing these
- 9:15letters, what was his goal for us?
- 9:18What message was he trying to tell us through these letters?
- 9:23Allah's greatest trial throughout history was to
- 9:27prepare the believers for the final stage of His trials, and
- 9:33that is the Gabe and that and that's what it means to define
- 9:39the Meneen and the believers, as Allah tells us in Surat al
- 9:43Baqarah. What is that defining quality of
- 9:46a movement, a ladina menona bill gaib, those who believe in the
- 9:52unseen, so he does based on the unseen.
- 9:56So Allah wanted to prepare humanity for that final stage
- 10:00such that they don't have physical access to their leader,
- 10:05to their Imam, to the representative of God on earth.
- 10:08That's a very difficult trial. So we find all the Imams of Al
- 10:12Bait gradually preparing their followers for this trial and
- 10:18hence if you look at the last Imams of Al Bait from Al Imam Al
- 10:22Jawad onwards, you see that you actually see the prelude to the
- 10:29Reba because very few Shias had access to them, especially at
- 10:34Imam Askari and Imam Hadi and Imam Askari when they were in
- 10:38Samarra. Most Shias around the world at
- 10:40the time did not have access to them.
- 10:43Why? This was deliberate.
- 10:45Get ready. That final Imam you will not
- 10:48have access to anymore. So we find the Imams even by
- 10:55virtue of having access to them, they were preparing the Shia for
- 11:00the gheba. And if you look at the letters
- 11:03of al Imam, al Mehdi, Ajar Allah to his sufara, to his deputies,
- 11:07to his ambassadors, I see this theme in his letters.
- 11:12Get ready. Things are going to get tough.
- 11:16It's going to get very hard. You have to stay strong and
- 11:20patient. You will not regularly have
- 11:23access to your Imam. You will go through a a period
- 11:26of crisis. You'll have questions, you'll go
- 11:28through doubts. Be ready.
- 11:31We've given you all the tools and the ingredients that you
- 11:34need to be safe, to be on the right path.
- 11:38Work with these tools. It's really going to get tough.
- 11:42That's the theme that I see in the letters of the Imam,
- 11:45preparing us mentally, spiritually, psychologically for
- 11:50the Gabe. I mean, imagine, imagine if you
- 11:53have little children, They're attached to their parents.
- 11:56Their parents are raising them. The parents tell their children,
- 12:00look, you're going to get separated from us.
- 12:03You're no longer going to see us.
- 12:05It's very difficult. That breaks the children.
- 12:08It can shatter them. But good parents, what will they
- 12:11do if that has to happen? They'll prepare their children.
- 12:15Get ready. Don't fall into these pits of
- 12:18deviation. Be strong, be ready.
- 12:22That's what I see through these letters of the Imam.
- 12:25He really wanted to prepare us and for us to take it seriously.
- 12:30That's why some people object. Why is it that when I look at
- 12:33the letters of the Imam, I see a threatening tone in them?
- 12:37Like the Imam is a bit tough in his letters.
- 12:41The reason why he's tough is because he's communicating the
- 12:44seriousness of this trial. Don't sit back and relax on your
- 12:49couch and things and think and, and you don't think that things
- 12:52will be OK? No, they're going to be very
- 12:55tough. As you mentioned, the hearts
- 12:57will get hard. What does that mean?
- 13:00It means people will steer away from religion.
- 13:03People will no longer have that Hushua, that humbleness in their
- 13:08hearts to interact with the Quran, with the words of Allah,
- 13:11Subhanahu Ta'ala, a movement interacts with the Quran.
- 13:15One verse should change you, but we see in the Reba the Quran can
- 13:19be recited 10 times, the entire Quran, and it doesn't move some
- 13:24people. So the Iman was very worried,
- 13:27like a father who's worried about his children and the fate
- 13:31of his children. So if the Imam is a bit tough in
- 13:34these letters, it's because he wanted us to be prepared well.
- 13:38That preparation is is key. Of course I know Subhan Allah
- 13:41say that I I remember the points there.
- 13:44There was a conversation between Kumail and Imam Ali Ali Salaam
- 13:48where Kumail finds Emir Al Mahminian digging his fists into
- 13:52the ground and Kumail tells him you know what's going on.
- 13:55And he says I'm thinking about the 9th descendants of Al
- 14:00Hussein Ali Assalam referring to Imam and Mehdi.
- 14:03And then if we go. And the difficulties of the
- 14:05trials of yes. And then, and then I believe it
- 14:07was also Imam Jafar Assad, Ali Salaam, he told one of his
- 14:10companions something very similar.
- 14:11So they when the Imam was crying and he remembered what would
- 14:16happen to the people at the time of the Hebrew.
- 14:20Well, he mentioned something critical and I think it comes to
- 14:22this preparation bit where he says they will know of the
- 14:25Mahdi, but they will have doubts.
- 14:29And I and I and I think if we don't have this relationship of,
- 14:31of and if we don't get prepared for his return, I see doubts
- 14:35around me today. I see people questioning where
- 14:38is Imam Sahab al Astriwal Zaman? And I see it creeping in, in
- 14:41Shia communities. What can we take from the sulky
- 14:45arts of Imam and Mehdi Ajilat Al Farid Sharif that we can
- 14:49actually put into our lives today?
- 14:51That we can have foliar pain in the unseen that you're referring
- 14:55to? What I would take away from
- 14:57these Tokyat is to first of all know that this is the will of
- 15:02Allah to have the final representative in occultation in
- 15:06Ghiba. If you acknowledge that on an
- 15:09intellectual level, you will not struggle emotionally because the
- 15:15doubts that many people are having, are they intellectual
- 15:18doubts or let's call them emotional doubts?
- 15:23I'm using that as a figure of speech, right?
- 15:26It's more of an emotional doubt. Where is the Imam?
- 15:29Is he not seeing all this injustice around the world?
- 15:32If he's not going to reappear today, then what does he want to
- 15:34reappear when the whole planet is burned?
- 15:37I hear such comments like that. See, it's an emotional struggle.
- 15:41It's like a child who's waiting for the parents.
- 15:45Where are my parents? Why aren't they coming now?
- 15:48It's an emotional struggle, whereas the topiat are aimed at
- 15:54intellectually insulating us, understanding.
- 15:58This is the will of God, this is the plan of God, and this is the
- 16:02trial of Allah. Subhan Otada.
- 16:04Once I acknowledge that this is a trial, emotionally I'm able to
- 16:08cope. Psychologically I'm able to
- 16:11cope. Just like you tell a child,
- 16:13look, your father is going to be away for 20 years because he has
- 16:17this business to take care of and he's sending you money and
- 16:20he's taking care of you. If the child understands, OK,
- 16:23this is there is a system behind this, there's wisdom behind
- 16:26this, the child will cope. But when does the child suffer?
- 16:31When the child is lost, is confused, does not know why the
- 16:35parent is absent. I think a lot of us who struggle
- 16:38with these doubts, we've not really understood why the Imam
- 16:42is in occultation. What does he expect from us
- 16:45during the occultation? What's the nature of this trial?
- 16:49And so all these topiacs are aimed at reminding us of the
- 16:53covenant we made with Allah. Allah made a covenant with you.
- 16:58I'm going to put you on earth. I'm going to try you, and I'm
- 17:01going to try you with the unseen world more than the visible
- 17:05world. If you just acknowledge that
- 17:09emotionally, you'll cope with the riba.
- 17:11Yes, it's still heavy on our hearts.
- 17:13We still cry. We still grieve over the loss of
- 17:18separation from our Imam, just like a child who cries for the
- 17:23separation of parents. Emotionally, it's OK for you to
- 17:26grieve. In fact, that's a sign of faith.
- 17:29That's a sign of concern that you love your Imam.
- 17:32But that should not allow you to have doubts in all of this,
- 17:37because intellectually it makes perfect sense.
- 17:40To say, I don't, if I can be honest with you, I feel like,
- 17:44well, we look at our communities and I, I speak obviously on
- 17:47behalf of myself. I don't think when we say we are
- 17:51waiting for the Imam, we are actively waiting for the Imam,
- 17:56if that makes sense. So I feel like a lot of us are
- 17:59passive. I feel like it's cultural.
- 18:01It's, it's, it's something we've become habituated with when it
- 18:05comes, you know, when we say we are waiting the Holy Imam.
- 18:09And there's a hadith, I wanted to, to, to run past Jews from
- 18:13Imam Sadiq Alayhi Saddam, where he was asked about why we stand
- 18:16and we put our hands on our heads when the name Al Khatim is
- 18:19mentioned. And it's a beautiful hadith.
- 18:21Imam Alayhi Salaam says due to the lengthy nature of his
- 18:25occultation and due to the severity of his longing for
- 18:29seeing those that he loves, he looks towards every person who
- 18:32calls him by the name while thinking of his donor.
- 18:35And it is from his honour and respect that the humble servant
- 18:39should stand when his great master should look towards him
- 18:41with his blessed eyes. So let him stand and let him
- 18:44supplicate our last panel to Allah for his Imam and his
- 18:47reappearance to be hastened. Mashallah, I think it's like a
- 18:51beautiful hadith. It's a feel good hadith, but at
- 18:53the same time it references here that the Imam is also waiting
- 18:56for us. So when we say that he is the
- 18:58awaited Saviour, He is the awaited Saviour.
- 19:01We are waiting for him to come and fill the world, the earth
- 19:04with justice and and with godliness and divinity.
- 19:07However, at the same time are are we also the awaited ones?
- 19:12Is it wrong for us to say that he is the awaited one when he is
- 19:16is waiting for us? We always hear, you know, we
- 19:18grew up in a community where we always were told, and I remember
- 19:23this vividly in my youth being told, what if there are 312
- 19:28right now? What if you're meant to be the
- 19:3113th? So we used to hear this growing
- 19:33up and we always used to think about this, what if, what if the
- 19:35Imam is waiting? So I just wanted to ask that
- 19:38because we, of course, we always make this reference to the Imam
- 19:40being the awaited. So when we look at the hadiths,
- 19:43we see both of these elements. A number of hadiths indicate
- 19:47that we are waiting for him. He is the awaited.
- 19:51In fact, that's one of his names, Al Montalva, one of the
- 19:53titles of the Imam. So definitely you have that
- 19:57element of us waiting for him to come and establish justice on
- 20:03earth. But at the same time, we also
- 20:06have hadiths that indicate he is waiting for us, like the one
- 20:10that you mentioned, or like the famous incidents of Ali Ibn
- 20:14Mahzayyar. Ali Ibn Mahzayyar has a very
- 20:17special relationship with the Imams and specifically with the
- 20:2012th Imam. And on one of those journeys, as
- 20:24he wanted to meet the Imam, the servant of the Imam who came to
- 20:30Ali Ibn Maziar to show him where he could have the honor of
- 20:33meeting the Imam, Ali Ibn Maziar showed frustration.
- 20:38He indicated the following. Our Imam is Mahajubunan.
- 20:44Mahajub means he's basically there's a barrier between US and
- 20:48him, right? Why is he away from us?
- 20:54We've been blocked from seeing him.
- 20:55Mahjoub, that servant corrected Ali Ibn Meziah and he told him
- 21:02it is your sins that are blocking you from him, not
- 21:06himself blocking himself from you.
- 21:09Your sins blocking you from him. What does that mean?
- 21:12He's waiting for us. That means who put the barrier?
- 21:16We put the barrier, Not him. He's ready, but through my sins
- 21:21I've put the barrier and that's what's blocking us from the
- 21:25Imam. So in reality he is waiting for
- 21:27us. So now is there a contradiction
- 21:30among these hadiths? So what's going on?
- 21:31Is he waiting or are we waiting? It's a bit of both.
- 21:35Exactly. It's, it's, it's both, because
- 21:38what these hadiths are communicating is that the global
- 21:43just government of God is based on teamwork.
- 21:47You're going to work with your Imam to establish justice.
- 21:52That's the beauty of it. And that's why it's very
- 21:55critical for us to be a true companion of the Imam.
- 22:00Who's waiting for the Imam and who's also removing those
- 22:04barriers because Allah wants to give the believers the honor to
- 22:07be a part of this government. So if I can all say it, because
- 22:13like some may argue, they may, they may say that Allah's panel
- 22:16to Allah has a date and time where he knows that Imam is
- 22:19going to reappear. Right now we're 1100 years on.
- 22:23Allah knows that it will be 1500 years for argument's sake, right
- 22:27tomorrow, so or tomorrow in sha Allah.
- 22:29Of course, in sha Allah, we had a call this year, but we always
- 22:33hear, and I remember what someone once told me, imagine if
- 22:36the Shia 500 years ago, we're told, why are you waiting for
- 22:40the Imam when he's not going to come for at least another 500
- 22:43years. And my immediate thought process
- 22:46was perhaps if the shield at that time were ready, the Imam
- 22:50would have come then. At least in my mind.
- 22:52This is how I process the logic. And please correct me if I'm
- 22:54wrong because there is an element of bada, which I know
- 22:57we've spoken about before the podcast as well, that Allah's
- 23:01plan is ultimately, you know, he, Allah knows what the final
- 23:06destination is. Allah knows what is to happen,
- 23:09but unless upon Allah gives us as Munin the opportunity to help
- 23:14shape that destiny and for us to take part in what is to come.
- 23:19Am I correct in saying that the Imam Alai Salaam could come now
- 23:23if we were ready and if we continue perhaps on the path
- 23:27that we're on of Jahiliya, or maybe not.
- 23:30You know, the ignorance which we're currently showing as a
- 23:32global community, if we were to continue that this may further
- 23:36delay the Imam's coming. Or is it just a case of waiting
- 23:38for one sign after the other to to fall like Domino's?
- 23:42That's that's a very valid question.
- 23:44To understand how this works, it's important for us to
- 23:47understand how divine will works.
- 23:50As the Quran indicates, Allah has two types of divine will.
- 23:55He's got the fixed one and the contingent 1.
- 24:01Many verses of the Quran point to this reality.
- 24:05What is the contingent will of God means?
- 24:08The contingent will means Allah Subhanahu to Allah has assigned
- 24:13something to happen, meaning He's arranged the factors to
- 24:18come together at the right time, at the right place for that
- 24:22event to play out. However, Allah Sapan Otada has
- 24:26given us the role to change that, to influence that.
- 24:31Why? To give us hope.
- 24:33Imagine if one day you have this thought, if God has determined
- 24:37everything and He's willed everything and as the Quran says
- 24:40He's written everything, then what's my role here?
- 24:44I'm not going to change anything.
- 24:46You will be at a loss of hope. You won't see any value in your
- 24:50actions anymore. You'll see yourself as some
- 24:52robot that is just programmed to do what it's supposed to do.
- 24:57Unless a panel to Allah wants to make it clear to us that's not
- 25:00the case, I've given you some free will and you can actually
- 25:04change your fate. You can play a role in shaping
- 25:08your destiny. So unless panel to Allah, he's
- 25:11put some factors together to generate an outcome, but then
- 25:16how you interact with those factors can change the outcome.
- 25:22A last palatada, let's say, has willed for you to live 40 years
- 25:27because certain factors are going to come together.
- 25:31An accident could happen, God forbid, a health crisis could
- 25:35happen, but a last palatada has given you that opportunity.
- 25:39If you pay a sadaqa, you give charity, you're good, you
- 25:41establish good, good ties with your family members, Allah will
- 25:45increase that to 80 years because he's giving you a role
- 25:49to change your destiny. That's the system of God.
- 25:52It's based on that, and that's the core of badat.
- 25:56Badat doesn't mean God's knowledge changes.
- 26:00It means this divine will, the contingent one, will generate a
- 26:05different outcome if you act differently.
- 26:09That's what badat means at its core.
- 26:12So let's now apply this to the Imam Allah Subhana.
- 26:16Allah has promised that the 9th descendant of Hussein, the
- 26:21Mahdi, will return. That's a promise from God that
- 26:24will not change. Just like the Day of Judgement,
- 26:26the hour, that's a promise from God that the hour will happen.
- 26:29That's not going to change. But how is it going to be
- 26:33shaped? The timing of it, the various
- 26:36factors that depends on millions and millions of factors and some
- 26:41of them belong to us. Those factors are influenced by
- 26:47us, we as the Shia, as the followers of the Imam.
- 26:50Depending on our moral state, ethical state, religious state,
- 26:55how much we do to our sins, we can either push that back or
- 26:59expedite it. So we can go back in time 500
- 27:03years ago to those Shia and we could tell them had you done
- 27:07more, you could have expedited the return of the Imam.
- 27:11Have you not sinned as much? The Imam Ali Salaam might have
- 27:15appeared earlier. So our sins and our status as a
- 27:21community can have a big influence on that.
- 27:23And that's why the Imam told us. Well, Ekthiru Baduha ETA Jihad
- 27:28Farage, multiply your efforts when supplicating.
- 27:31Well, if God knows the Imam is going to return on that date and
- 27:36that's fixed, what is your dog going to do?
- 27:39It's not going to change anything.
- 27:41The fact that the Imams told us supplicate, pray for this, it
- 27:44means it can change. You can either postpone it or
- 27:48you can expedite it. We all play a role in that.
- 27:50Every single individual plays a role in that.
- 27:54Saying that just on this point of sinning, I've heard.
- 27:59I can't remember from where, but I've also heard the opposite to
- 28:01this, which is for example that the more sins and.
- 28:04The more the world is filled with injustice.
- 28:06The quicker has returned. Yeah, we've had that.
- 28:09We've had that from, Yeah. Yes, we've had there is that
- 28:14mentality. There are twisted scholars,
- 28:16let's be real, because we think about it, Who have this thought?
- 28:19I mean obviously the. If you have advocated for that,
- 28:22sure. Yeah.
- 28:24I've heard this by the way. I know you're.
- 28:26Thinking I just came to me as you were.
- 28:28There was actually a devious cult in some countries in the
- 28:32past, you know, few decades, whose mission was to sin and
- 28:38spread the culture of sins, of course, and their mentality was
- 28:41what you described. If the hadiths have told us that
- 28:44Imam will not reappear unless the world is going to be filled
- 28:47with injustice and sins and corruption, well, let's get the
- 28:51world there. Let's fill it with injustice.
- 28:54So that will expedite the return of the Imam.
- 28:56We don't need to give the oxygen because we know that's devious
- 28:59and. We don't.
- 29:00But I think saying that just on this point, can we consider
- 29:03these groups of people or these calls or you know, as imposters,
- 29:08troublemakers? Do they fall on the the category
- 29:10what's known as the Journal? Definitely, they are imposters
- 29:13and I'll tell you why. See someone can give them the
- 29:16benefit of the doubt and say, yeah, that's a genuine idea.
- 29:19It's in fact, it's a brilliant idea.
- 29:21It's a creative idea. Let's get the imam faster and
- 29:24get this over with. The reason why these people are
- 29:27not well-intentioned is if you look at the Quran and the
- 29:31teachings of added bait, in no instance has they have they ever
- 29:36given us the exception to sin. Never.
- 29:40And they always advocated. If you ever see someone
- 29:43advocating for sins, know that this is from Shaitaan.
- 29:46This is deception which is the basis of the jot.
- 29:49So how could any Mormon ever believe in that that God has
- 29:53authorized you to sin for any purpose?
- 29:56Never in history did any prophet allow any of their followers to
- 30:00sin to achieve any divine goal. So right off the bat we know
- 30:04that these people are not well-intentioned.
- 30:07These people want to follow their desires and they just want
- 30:10an excuse because hey, it sounds nice.
- 30:13Go sin, follow your desires and temptations.
- 30:15And what? Blame it on the Imam so I can
- 30:17bring him faster? It's a very devious concept and
- 30:22a very clear application of the dead, jolly deceptive mentality.
- 30:27So now I would not give them any benefit of the doubt and say
- 30:30Haram, they're lost, they don't know what's going on.
- 30:33They really want to bring that global government.
- 30:35Who are you following? If you're following the Mehdi
- 30:38and the Imams, they told you to do the exact opposite.
- 30:41In fact, the Imam Ali, Saddam, in one of those letters we
- 30:44talked about, the letters the Imam indicates had you been
- 30:47united on the truth, on the hack, on the good, our
- 30:52appearance and meeting with you would not have been delayed.
- 30:56The Imam is saying the exact opposite.
- 30:59So how could you defy what your Imam is saying?
- 31:03But now let's briefly address this Shobha, this misconception.
- 31:07I mean it, it could make sense. Let's fill the earth with
- 31:09injustice and He's going to come.
- 31:12The more we fill the earth with injustice, in fact, the more we
- 31:16postpone his reappearance. Because when we defy Allah upon
- 31:21OTA, Allah makes us suffer more. See.
- 31:24Look at the Quran and Beni Israel.
- 31:26What do we learn from their experience?
- 31:29Sometimes the Quran tells us God was very tough with the children
- 31:33of Israel. Allah would intensify, you know,
- 31:36their trials. He would impose new restrictions
- 31:39on them. Why?
- 31:41Like the whole Sabbath on Saturday, you cannot fish.
- 31:44The why? It's because they sinned.
- 31:48They showed stubbornness with God and God paid them back by
- 31:53intensifying their trial. Whenever you sin, you don't get
- 31:57relief, you get the opposite, you get more trials.
- 32:02So to think that during the Khyber, by sending more and
- 32:04filling the earth with injustice that's going to expedite the
- 32:08Imams return, that's not going to happen.
- 32:10It will only postpone it. Now, it's not a condition for
- 32:15the reappearance of the Imam, for the world to be filled with
- 32:19corruption, that's not a prerequisite.
- 32:22He's not waiting for that. So then what do those hadiths
- 32:26mean? What those hadiths mean is that
- 32:30really the only one who can truly save you from corruption
- 32:35has to be God's representative. Don't think you people, Through
- 32:40your systems, through your way of life, through your ideas, you
- 32:45can save humanity. Don't be arrogant, be humble,
- 32:49follow the representatives of God and you will see it when
- 32:53He's going to save you from global injustice.
- 32:56That global injustice the hadiths are talking about are
- 33:00referring to a massive failure on behalf of humanity.
- 33:04All of you human beings, you'll fail miserably.
- 33:07Then a last part I will show you why you have to follow his
- 33:10representatives. That's the idea behind these
- 33:14hadiths. And there's, I know you've
- 33:16mentioned I've had and I, I want to ask something separate, but
- 33:19I'm just to add on. I know you've mentioned in in
- 33:22some of your, your recent lectures that there are certain
- 33:26attitudes of the of humanity at a time where the Imam will come
- 33:31and, and specific instances of injustice rebar in terms of
- 33:34interest, Salah will be abandoned.
- 33:37The men will dress like women and the women will dress like
- 33:40men and all of these kind of this.
- 33:41There's a whole list of them, must be dozens of them.
- 33:44But specific instances where the whole of humanity are are
- 33:49abandoning Dean and have Hak and Bathen swamped.
- 33:52Yeah. I mean, that's my understanding.
- 33:54I did want to ask specifically about the five definite signs
- 33:58and specifically when we talk about what we call them, the
- 34:01Hatamiya signs, the Hatami signs, these definite signs.
- 34:05So the rising of the Sofiani, the rising of Aliyamani, the say
- 34:10hi, the call from the skies, the Khasfaul Baida, the swelling of
- 34:15the earth. And the last one is the killing
- 34:18of Nafsa Zakiya in in the Kaaba, the vicinity of the Kaaba.
- 34:23These five definite signs, are they impacted by the contingent
- 34:26will of a Las Paluta Allah, the Bada?
- 34:28Or are these those which are definitely happening and they
- 34:31can't be affected by the people? So Subhan Allah, the one of the
- 34:35Imams of Al Beit Ali Musalam al Imam Assad al Islam was asked
- 34:38about this very question. He was asked these signs of
- 34:42reappearance, are they subject to bada or not?
- 34:47The Imam Ali Salam responded yes, they are subject to bada.
- 34:52Now what does that mean? Here's how we understand it.
- 34:56If these 5 signs happen, definitely the Imam will
- 35:01reappear immediately because they're signs.
- 35:06And if they are signs, they must point to an event that does not
- 35:09change because it's a promise that if these signs happen, your
- 35:14imam is going to reappear. From this side, there is no bada
- 35:19because these are Al Ahmat signs pointing to an event.
- 35:22However, let's look at the other side.
- 35:25Do these five have to happen for him to reappear?
- 35:30Or Allah can expedite his reappearance and he can reappear
- 35:34without these happening? Yes, that's where Badat comes
- 35:38into play. So let's say Allah Spanada today
- 35:41looks at the state of the earth and he sees the meaning,
- 35:44humbling their hearts, begging Allah for the reappearance of
- 35:47the Imam and people. Humanity is overwhelmingly doing
- 35:51good and wanting good and humbling themselves.
- 35:55And sometimes you can see the world heading that way.
- 35:57We're even non-Muslims. We're not even talking about
- 36:00Muslims in the Shia, even non-Muslims.
- 36:02We failed. God just help us.
- 36:05No government is going to save humanity.
- 36:08No group or party is going to save us.
- 36:11It's just chaos and confusion and greed everywhere.
- 36:16When the world comes to that state, Alas Apano Ta'ala can do
- 36:21the following. These signs don't need to
- 36:24happen. They let's say they're supposed
- 36:26to happen 50 years from now. 5000 years from now, when Alas
- 36:29sees humanity showing those good intentions, Alas Apano Ta'ala
- 36:34can just put those to the side and in one night have the Mehdi
- 36:38reappear. That's why Sunni and Shia Hadith
- 36:41have mentioned this exact point. Yuslah allahu amrahufi Laila or
- 36:48yuslahu allahufi Laila meaning Allah subhanawat Allah will
- 36:54prepare him in one night. See, your deeds are so powerful,
- 37:01they can bring about the Lahore of the Imam in one night.
- 37:06Don't think that it needs ages and centuries and millennia for
- 37:11the Imam to return. Open your heart, do good,
- 37:16improve the quality of your intentions.
- 37:19It could happen within a night. So all those signs can be
- 37:24skipped and the last panotada can bring the imam.
- 37:27That's the. That's the application of BADA.
- 37:29But how does that different than to indefinite signs?
- 37:31Because if they're definite and they're 5 definite.
- 37:33Signs. They're they're definite signs
- 37:35in the sense that if they happen, the imam must return OK.
- 37:38Fine. Whereas the other indefinite
- 37:40signs, yeah, yes, most likely. When we talked about Reba usury
- 37:46on the rise, divorce rate on the rise, corruption, people
- 37:49abandoning prayer, people worshipping their money.
- 37:52When these signs happen, yeah, there is a strong indication
- 37:56that Imam will reappear. But must he reappear?
- 37:59No, all of these can happen and there still will.
- 38:03Could be a delay, Yeah, in the reappearance of the Imam due to
- 38:07a number of factors. But when the five happen, he
- 38:10must reappear imminently, immediately.
- 38:14That's what differentiates the hatmi, the definite signs and
- 38:17the indefinite signs. Does that make sense?
- 38:19Yeah. For sure, sure.
- 38:21So it's not a case of it's, it's a case of if these five happen,
- 38:25then the imam will definitely reappear.
- 38:27But it's not a case of these five have to happen for the imam
- 38:29to reappear. Correct.
- 38:31Exactly. Whereas the indefinite signs,
- 38:33yes, if they happen, there's a strong expectation that he will
- 38:38reappear soon. But must he?
- 38:40No. A lot can still postpone it
- 38:42another thousand years due to a number of factors.
- 38:44So say sorry, say no, no. One of those signs is the say
- 38:48ha, which we've talked about. And of course, we're approaching
- 38:50Shahar on mobile and we see in our traditions that the call
- 38:54that will come from the sky, there will be two calls, if I'm
- 38:56not mistaken. But the call which comes from
- 38:58the skies will be for all of humanity.
- 39:01And our hadith says in all languages that the Imam is
- 39:04coming. Is that an quite literally an
- 39:07audible call? Can we hear it, you know, with
- 39:10our ears? Or is it something which is
- 39:12internal and it's? Like a divine inspiration in the
- 39:14heart. When I look at the hadiths about
- 39:17the Saha, it is very clear that this is a literal call from the
- 39:21skies. It's an audible call that
- 39:25everyone will hear. And that's why the Hadith states
- 39:28the person who's sleeping, the sound waves of the call will
- 39:33wake him up and the person who's awake will be disoriented, will
- 39:37be shocked. So these are all descriptions of
- 39:40an audible call, not some, you know, inspiration in your heart
- 39:44or like a calling in your soul or in your heart.
- 39:48So yes, we expect it to be an audible call and it will be
- 39:51heard in your language. For.
- 39:54All for all of humanity, Muslims, non-Muslims, believers,
- 39:57non believers, every person around the world is going to
- 40:01hear this call in their own respective language and
- 40:04according to our hadiths. This is expected to happen in
- 40:08the month of Ramadan. On the 23rd day of Ramadan, the
- 40:13Imam Ali Salaam. In another hadith, the Prophet
- 40:15Sallallahu Aliwale, they indicated that Jibrail is the
- 40:18one who is going to make this call.
- 40:22In Sunni hadith it doesn't mention Jibrail, it says an
- 40:25Angel. It doesn't give us the identity
- 40:29of the Angel in Sunni hadith. But in Shia hadith, it is said
- 40:33by the imams that it will be Jibrail.
- 40:35Now what is he going to say? Because there's going to be
- 40:38another call that's going to sow confusion among the people.
- 40:42The Imam says the first call is going to be earlier in the day.
- 40:46Then there's going to be another call at the end of the day done
- 40:48by Shaytan Iblis, and he's going to say that first call is a lie
- 40:55and the Mahdi is false and he's going to call on people to
- 40:59reject the Mahdi. This is mentioned in our
- 41:01hadiths. So how do we distinguish or
- 41:05decipher the authentic call from the fake one issued by Iblis?
- 41:10Here's how. In one hadith, the Imam says the
- 41:14true call will mention the Mahdi by his name and his father's
- 41:18name. So which name are we expecting
- 41:22to hear by the call? It's a name that also in the
- 41:26heba the Imams avoided mentioning.
- 41:30They avoided mentioning the name of the Imam.
- 41:33What's his name? Muhammad.
- 41:36Now Al Mehdi is his title. That's not his name.
- 41:38A lot of people think that's his name.
- 41:40That's a title. The guided 1 Allah guides him,
- 41:43but his actual name is Muhammad. Now during the Reba, especially
- 41:47the minor occultation, the Shias were prohibited from referring
- 41:52to Ali al Mehdi using his name for a number of reasons.
- 41:56One is for them not to get in trouble with the authorities
- 41:59because of the Abbasids realize the Shias are actually pointing
- 42:03to a name, not just a generic title.
- 42:07They would torture the Shias. Oh, so there is an Imam.
- 42:09We're not going to release you until he comes.
- 42:12Show us where is he? It would have gotten the Shias
- 42:14into trouble. So the Imams taught the Shias
- 42:17don't mention his name, mention titles, and titles are a bit
- 42:22generic. So that gives you some leeway to
- 42:25avoid trouble with the government.
- 42:27But one of the signs that show This site is a true 1 is that
- 42:32Jibrahid will say his name and his father's name, Muhammad Ibn
- 42:36al Hassan. That is a name we are expected
- 42:40to hear. Secondly, the true call invites
- 42:45people to follow the Mehdi. So any call that you find that
- 42:50is distracting people from the Mehdi, we know that's from
- 42:53Shaitaan, right? So yes, it is an audible call
- 42:57been going to be initiated by Jibrail and it's expected to be
- 43:02in the month of Ramadan. Does it have to be in the month
- 43:04of Ramadan? No, the the concept of badat can
- 43:07come here. Let's say Allah has planned it
- 43:10for the month of Ramadan, but meaning do good, Allah can
- 43:13expedite it. But it is expected to be on the
- 43:1723rd of the month of Ramadan. That that rule of Badaq can
- 43:21apply to anything. So any of these signs?
- 43:24When the Imam comes with three correct companions, Masjid al
- 43:27Haram, that could come anything. This is all the natural
- 43:30expectation, OK, meaning if these factors are at play, this
- 43:35is going to happen. But we can change that right
- 43:38through good deeds. You can expedite that and not
- 43:41have to wait that long. So speaking about good deeds,
- 43:45that means we as individuals, as Shia, as Mohalin, as Mohabbin of
- 43:51Al Beti Rasul Allah sallallahu alai.
- 43:55That means we have to change ourselves.
- 43:56And then that that I've had the conversation with Ahmed before.
- 44:00I want to talk about being believers for a second here.
- 44:04We had a discussion where we spoke about the companions of
- 44:07Rasul Allah. Yeah, Allah Ali Wali wasallam.
- 44:10And during that episode, I, I remember us two were talking
- 44:14about, you know, what made Maitham Maitham Tamar, what made
- 44:17Ammar Ammar of Nyassar. They truly lived the values of
- 44:22the Quran. They lived the values and the
- 44:24laws and the teachings of Rasul Allah and Ali Beta Rasul Allah.
- 44:28That means nothing's happening wrong today if, if Imam Khan
- 44:32Sharif is still delayed in his reappearance.
- 44:37And here, from what I've gathered from the conversation
- 44:39today, this is also down to our fault.
- 44:41This is if we say, you know, we are believers, we are Shia, we
- 44:44are not many. And something is definitely
- 44:46wrong with us. We're two weeks away from
- 44:49Ramadan. What needs to change with us?
- 44:52You know, someone listening today, even to myself.
- 44:55Any advice? What has your mom and Mehdi want
- 44:59from us to change, to better ourselves, to truly work and
- 45:03that teamwork that you were referring to early on as
- 45:06believers? I often think about that
- 45:09frequently. I wonder the 313, their
- 45:12qualities. We've got 1,000,000 millions of
- 45:16Muslims and Shias around the world and believers around the
- 45:20world. Just before the podcast, the
- 45:21Hamas said something very interesting.
- 45:22He was like, you know, we go to Irvine and we see the. 10 / 20
- 45:26million. Talking towards the shrine of
- 45:28Imam and Hussein Ali Salaam, but.
- 45:30Really, we can't muster 313 out of all that?
- 45:33Something's wrong. I do think of that and and this
- 45:36idea, you know, does unsettle me to be honest with you.
- 45:41But I've found my answer by looking at the companions of
- 45:45Imam Hussein. Ha DES, let me take you back 14
- 45:49centuries ago. I would like to ask you, what do
- 45:52you think went wrong during the era of Imam Hussein such that
- 45:57only 70 or 80 or so companions stood with him and they were
- 46:01willing to sacrifice or as the others either fought him or they
- 46:06didn't get involved. By the way, the the, the, the
- 46:10common misconception that you find that she has invited Imam
- 46:13Hussein and then they killed him.
- 46:14That's false. No, Shia killed Imam Hussein.
- 46:17Yes, some Shia has betrayed Imam Hussein by not making a greater
- 46:23effort to come to Karbala and to defend their Imam.
- 46:25Sure they are at fault for that, but no Shia killed Imam Hussein
- 46:29on this side it. Was the Shia of Yazid?
- 46:31They were the Shia Abu Sufyan, because Imam Hussein, he did
- 46:34call them on the day of Ashurai, told them, yeah, Shiite ABI
- 46:38Sufyan, those who killed you see you as a Shia.
- 46:42You may not listen to your Imam. You may give him a hard time,
- 46:46you may not support him the way you should, but you're not going
- 46:48to take a sword and fight your Imam, right, As Shia is unable
- 46:53to do that. It doesn't make any sense.
- 46:56So my question to you both, what went wrong during the time of
- 47:02Imam Hussein such that everyone either abandoned him or fought
- 47:06him except 7072? What was the problem?
- 47:12It's such a big question. But based on what you know about
- 47:15Imam Hussein and the circumstances of his martyrdom,
- 47:18where did they fail? I mean, I can say for example,
- 47:25in terms of it can be as simple as saying, you know, they were
- 47:28not loyal enough. But I think on a realistic
- 47:30level, if I, if I deep it right now and I think about it, I can
- 47:34say, for example, they were distracted with this Walt, this
- 47:38Dunya that was. That's one of the biggest
- 47:40elements. That's how were they distracted?
- 47:44Do you have a concrete example? See Ibn Ziad when he mobilized a
- 47:51massive army to fight Imam Hussein.
- 47:53He promised them something. What was he promising them?
- 47:56Some he was threatening, but others?
- 47:58Material stuff, yeah. How much do you know?
- 48:00How much he was promising some of them.
- 48:02Ibn Ziad was promising some of them. 30,000 dinars, some
- 48:12dirhams. Let's put a value to it today
- 48:17just so we can understand how much this is.
- 48:20It's about £6 million. Let me ask you today, the
- 48:26average believer, OK, the average Muslim, what are they
- 48:32willing to do for £6 million? Anything.
- 48:36That kill family. We are willing to do some very
- 48:40disturbing things for £6 million, even much less than
- 48:43that. We're willing to step on our
- 48:46religion, compromise our values. Like you said, some people are
- 48:50even willing to kill family, steal, fabricate, defraud.
- 48:55We're willing to engage in any type of deception for £6
- 48:59million. You see where they failed their
- 49:02test. The minute your heart clings to
- 49:06this materialistic world, you've lost the test.
- 49:10You're not one of the 313. And we all have these
- 49:15attachments to this dunya to comfort for me, for my family,
- 49:18for my wife, for my children, my house, my car, my job.
- 49:21I don't want to lose my job. The biggest fear today people
- 49:24have is losing their job. I want financial stability,
- 49:27stability. Like, where's the Razak today?
- 49:30You know who's the Razak? The corporations, the employers.
- 49:33They're the Razak in the eyes of the people.
- 49:36See, this is shirk that we're committing.
- 49:39The Quran tells us God is your sustainer in my eyes.
- 49:42No, no, no, no. The company is my sustainer.
- 49:45Whoever is giving me that job is my sustainer.
- 49:47No, that's not your sustainer. That's a tool that the sustainer
- 49:50uses to give you sustenance. We don't see it that way.
- 49:54And I've seen it with some very good brothers.
- 49:57By the way, I'm not judging them in any way.
- 49:59They're so decent. They're wonderful.
- 50:00They could be better than me, but they always have that fear
- 50:03saying my job, that my job, my job.
- 50:05His biggest fear is his job. When your biggest fear is your
- 50:08job, it's hard for me to see how you can be one of the 313.
- 50:12The imam does not want a companion who's concerned about
- 50:15his job. Your concern is your Dean.
- 50:19That's your ultimate concern, your job you have Yapin.
- 50:22Allah will sustain you. How?
- 50:24I don't know, but he'll sustain me.
- 50:26He'll take care of me. So at the time of Imam Hussein
- 50:30Ali Salaam, we see that one reason why so many people failed
- 50:35is because of their attachment to this Dunya Ibn Ziad realized
- 50:38this. He exploited it.
- 50:40That's how he mustered 30,000 people to go and fight Imam
- 50:42Hussein. They knew it was wrong.
- 50:44They were not interested in killing Imam Hussein.
- 50:47Even Omar Ibn Saad, the commander of Yazid's army, in
- 50:52all honesty, he tried to stop the battle.
- 50:55He tried. He tried to negotiate Ibn Ziad.
- 50:58Let's figure out another way. Let's.
- 51:01He didn't want to initially fight Imam Hussein because he
- 51:03knew how wrong this was, Ibn Ziad told him.
- 51:07Look, you want the Kingdom of Ray, modern day Tehran, Iran
- 51:11area, you've got to kill him. That blinded him.
- 51:15What a beside was disputing debating with the Imam for three
- 51:19hours. They had a debate right before
- 51:21Ashura. Imam Hussein told him, what's
- 51:23the matter with you? You're why are you fighting me?
- 51:27He's like because Ibn Ziad. He said he'll demolish my house.
- 51:30The Imam told him I'll give you a house in Hijaz.
- 51:33He said he'll confiscate my properties and farmland.
- 51:35The Imam said I'll give you another.
- 51:38He says I I fear for the safety of my family.
- 51:41Imam Hussein told him I'll guarantee the safety of your
- 51:44family. He told him he's promised me the
- 51:47Kingdom of right. The amount told him may Allah
- 51:50curse you and may Allah send someone to slaughter you on your
- 51:52bed. And that's exactly what
- 51:54happened. You're not going to enjoy this
- 51:55Kingdom that you're willing to sell everything for.
- 51:58See, for some it was Kingdom, for some it was £6 million, the
- 52:02equivalent of today. If you look at the state of the
- 52:05world, that's pretty much where we are failing for money, for
- 52:11RZA, for sustenance. We're willing to do very
- 52:13disturbing things and we're willing to earn a Haram income.
- 52:17Imam Hussein Ali Saddam, he gave another description on the day
- 52:20of Ashura when he referred to his people, he said these
- 52:27people, their stomachs are filled with Haram, right?
- 52:32Shaitan, Shaitan conquered them, they forgot God.
- 52:37Now I have a question for you. Imam Hussein says their stomachs
- 52:40were filled with Haram. Is he talking about non the bhi
- 52:44hameed? No.
- 52:46The kufa, where was such such large quantity of Haram meat
- 52:50even available? He's not talking about meat not
- 52:53slaughtered halal. So what?
- 52:56What halal and Haram is the imam is referring to income.
- 53:00Income. Yeah, your income, is it ethical
- 53:04or unethical? Is it lawful or exactly?
- 53:08See in Islam, In Islam, there's two types of Haram food.
- 53:12There's the Haram food. You eat a hamburger from
- 53:14whatever, you know, McDonald's here or Burger King.
- 53:17That's not halal, OK. That's an application of Haram
- 53:19food and it has its bad effects on your body and soul.
- 53:23There's another application that most people are not aware of.
- 53:27When your income is unlawful, unquestionable, unethical, and
- 53:32you use that money to buy food, in reality the the food that's
- 53:37going into your stomach is a type of Haram food.
- 53:42That type of food weakens your faith, makes you fail your test.
- 53:47Imam Hussein said These 30,000 people are finding me.
- 53:50Their stomachs are filled with Haram, meaning they engage in
- 53:54Haram activities, Haram business.
- 53:58They take money from oppressors, right?
- 54:02And they oppress with it or they side with the oppressors.
- 54:05These are all applications of Haram Reba interest.
- 54:08Defrauding your customers, you name it.
- 54:10Cheating your business partner, you name it.
- 54:12All this is Haram. And today, honestly, it's very
- 54:17hard with our modern economy to always stay focused such that
- 54:21your income is purely halal. That's very hard.
- 54:27But if you're willing to sacrifice to go through
- 54:30difficulty, it indicates you've got that quality to be among the
- 54:33313. That's one take away point I get
- 54:37when I reflect on what happened with Imam Hussein Adi setup.
- 54:40So you can have 20 million people, 50 million people, how
- 54:44many of them are willing to say no when you entice them with £6
- 54:49million, how many do? You think so?
- 54:51Do you think say sorry because I think I find this concept very
- 54:54interesting as well. And what you both have mentioned
- 54:57about what? How could there not be 313 Now,
- 55:00even if you take the 20 million who are walking, you're on here
- 55:03to Imam. I say that they Salam.
- 55:05Is it a case where like those 313 have a quality which
- 55:08everyone else doesn't have? Or is it that these got the the
- 55:12remainder the other people have something bad within them, which
- 55:15the three on three are are pure of, if that makes sense.
- 55:18Like for example, this the question of money is something
- 55:21I've never thought of. Honest to God, when we think
- 55:23about three on three, because we think about spirituality and we
- 55:27think about prayer. Fasting.
- 55:29We think about like. All the lying, the obvious ones.
- 55:33Promised you say it. Until today, I had never
- 55:35considered money in this conversation, and especially in
- 55:38terms. Of and that's one of the biggest
- 55:39factors, all those who fought the Imam and they betrayed the
- 55:44Imams, there was always a financial factor behind it,
- 55:50always a financial factor. And that's one of the biggest
- 55:53trials we have cut your heart from money.
- 55:57The world have money but be indifferent.
- 56:00So when I look at the 313, one of the biggest qualities I see
- 56:05in them, they are completely indifferent to this dunya and.
- 56:09That's even why we're. That's your main summit, Tamar.
- 56:11He doesn't care about this Dunya.
- 56:13Give him a trillion dollars. He couldn't care less.
- 56:18Salman, he couldn't care less about money.
- 56:20Abuda, he couldn't care less. In fact, when Othman tried to
- 56:25bribe Abuda, he sent 200 dinars. At the peak of his poverty, you
- 56:32know, Abuda starved to death. That's how poor he was.
- 56:36He sent someone, a servant, Othman, and he gave him 200
- 56:40golden dinars. That's a lot of money.
- 56:42You could buy a sheep with one dinar.
- 56:44Back then, I would have told him, what's this?
- 56:47It's like, no, no, no. This is Othman's private money.
- 56:50It's not Muslim treasury, it's not public funds, it's not
- 56:52Sadaqa. It's just private money.
- 56:54He's giving you a special gift, personal gift.
- 56:57I would have told him, is he giving every Muslim this gift or
- 57:00just me? He's like no, just you.
- 57:03He's like OK, so this is a bribe, right?
- 57:06This is not a gift anymore. Then the servant, he looked at
- 57:11Abu Dhar. He felt bad for Abu Dhar.
- 57:14He told them, Abu Dhar, just look at yourself, but just look
- 57:17at your state. Your poverty is bothering my
- 57:22eyes. Just take it.
- 57:25Just take it. Who needs this more than you?
- 57:29You're poor. You know what Abu Dhar said?
- 57:31He says, I swear by Allah. Allah has enriched me with the
- 57:36Willaiah of Imam Ali, Ali's. That's your Abu Dhabi today, in
- 57:42the peak of your poverty. You've lost your job, you fear
- 57:47your children are going to go hungry.
- 57:50And you really see yourself poor in that moment.
- 57:54Do you see yourself as the richest of the richest through
- 57:59your Iman and wilaya? If you can see that 100%,
- 58:03without a doubt you're one of the 313 potentially.
- 58:08If I can't see that, I need to work on myself.
- 58:12I'm not saying let's lose hope. We're doing, no.
- 58:14But I know now how to work on myself.
- 58:18That's the financial factor here.
- 58:21And when I look at the trial of the people at the time, Ivan
- 58:25Persin, I apply it to our modern era that sheds some light on
- 58:29what's going on. Where's the problem?
- 58:32So that's one way of looking at it.
- 58:34Yeah. That's a very, very.
- 58:37I think it's at home. Yeah, that one hit.
- 58:40That one hit. I really love this example of
- 58:44Karbala and Ashura and Imam Hussein.
- 58:46And I'm thinking as you're speaking, saying that this could
- 58:50be us if we're not careful. And imagine, imagine shallow we
- 58:54live to see. Say it.
- 58:56It's not that it can be us. It is us.
- 58:59Yeah, it is us. Now we just all have different
- 59:03degrees. Someone, maybe 90% of what I
- 59:06described. Someone, 50%, someone, 30%.
- 59:09But once I can purify my soul from that, I'm not just one step
- 59:15close. I'm, I'm almost there, but but
- 59:18this is hard. Yeah, it's this is really hard.
- 59:21It's not easy. We got to work on ourselves.
- 59:23I think that's what you know. Sorry, but Sharon Mavan coming
- 59:26around the corner now, a big part of that conversation is, is
- 59:31to do with this detachment from the material.
- 59:33Like this is the time, brothers, sisters, if there's a time, this
- 59:36is the time, you know, the, the the asceticism, the Zohud or
- 59:40whatever you want to call it, that detachment from the
- 59:43material is now. And look, if you think of it
- 59:45from a like a global perspective, we've seen like we
- 59:48live in in the world now where it's not just capitalists,
- 59:51democracies, you have oligarchies.
- 59:52You've seen capitalism, you've seen socialism, you've seen
- 59:55communism. The world has seen every ISM
- 59:57that there is. Of course, the Imam will come
- 59:59and he'll bring something different, a global sense of
- 1:00:01justice in a way which we've never seen, sovereignty in a way
- 1:00:04we've never seen. The resources of the world will
- 1:00:06be utilized in such a way which has never been seen.
- 1:00:09We see in our hadith that the the aim and the the potential,
- 1:00:12the capacity that the world has humankind has up until the point
- 1:00:16that Imam returns is 2 out of 27 parts and the remaining 25 parts
- 1:00:21will come from the Enlightenment of Imam.
- 1:00:23I methi a lot to Anafar Sharif and I just to me, it makes us
- 1:00:27think that we yearn to sit with him, to sit beside him, to pray
- 1:00:31behind him, you know, to walk behind him and his blessed self.
- 1:00:35You know, the fragrance of the Imam, the knowledge of the Imam,
- 1:00:38like it's just and it's a beautifying thought for us,
- 1:00:41Subhan Allah. And you know when I know, I
- 1:00:44remember said you mentioned in one of your classes that at the
- 1:00:46time of the coming of you know, Inshallah, under the the dole of
- 1:00:49the Imam, there is no poverty. And and one of the hadith
- 1:00:53mentions that even if you offered people money in that
- 1:00:55time, they were. People would bring zakat and
- 1:00:57charity and they would not fight.
- 1:00:59And you want to take it? Yeah.
- 1:01:00He will eliminate the causes of poverty.
- 1:01:04You know that we don't have a problem with natural resources.
- 1:01:08Yeah, we don't. Allah has created all the
- 1:01:10natural resources that we need. Yeah.
- 1:01:13The problem is what? With greed and lack of proper
- 1:01:16distribution. And we see it today and we see
- 1:01:18it today everywhere. Yeah, God has created the
- 1:01:21resources, but how they're, you know, distributed among people
- 1:01:25is where the problem is. Imam al Mehdi Ajal Alafaraja
- 1:01:29will eliminate that injustice. That's all.
- 1:01:32That's all you do. And people will have access to
- 1:01:34resources. Yeah, yeah, part of the law.
- 1:01:36You mentioned this as an injustice because like when we
- 1:01:39think of injustice, we think of death, destruction, massacres.
- 1:01:43Planes and bombs and. Right.
- 1:01:45Or like a dictator who's directly oppressing, but that
- 1:01:50that system of, of, of improper distribution, that's one of the
- 1:01:55biggest acts of injustice. Compression, yeah.
- 1:01:58Yeah, and and by the way, This is why Imam Ali, Ali, Salam and
- 1:02:02the Imams in general had so many enemies.
- 1:02:05Why did Imam Ali have so many enemies during his four year
- 1:02:08rule? Because he disrupted the system
- 1:02:12where the resources are concentrated in the hands of the
- 1:02:16elite, the dominant powers. The Imam Ali, Saddam humiliated
- 1:02:21the dominant powers by saying you're equal.
- 1:02:24Under God's system, you're equal.
- 1:02:26I don't care if you're rich. You come from this background.
- 1:02:29You're a master. You get 3 DN Rs a month.
- 1:02:32Just like that Lady gets it. Just like that divorcee gets it.
- 1:02:36The widow, the slave, everyone gets three.
- 1:02:38I don't care who you are, the dominant powers, OK, You're not
- 1:02:43going to give us more. We're going to fight you.
- 1:02:45And in fact, some people who we thought they were Shias, like
- 1:02:50Zubair, why did Zubair flip against Imam Ahmadi?
- 1:02:53Why Zubair was there at Satifa as the hadith states?
- 1:02:58I'm you're familiar with this. His eyes were at the eyes of
- 1:03:01Emir Al Mumini. Just give me the signal, I'll
- 1:03:03take out my sword. He was from the one that also
- 1:03:06shaved his head to correct, Yes. That's Zubair there with the
- 1:03:11profit with Imam I need from day one.
- 1:03:12Why did he fail? See the financial factor?
- 1:03:18Me, Zubair, you're the Caleb. You're not going to give me the
- 1:03:20governorship of somewhere. You're not going to give me more
- 1:03:22money? They might wanted to test them.
- 1:03:25No, you're equal. Even.
- 1:03:27No, no, no, no. I'm not equal.
- 1:03:28Me, me. I'm not equal.
- 1:03:30Yeah. Because in so bears mind, you
- 1:03:33think that I've proven myself now.
- 1:03:34I made it to the top. I've been with the imam for so
- 1:03:37long. I deserve a status that's crazy
- 1:03:39to. Think and so that equality is
- 1:03:41also another dimension of this trial, and let me give you this
- 1:03:46hypothetical scenario. Imagine the Imam reappears, or
- 1:03:48you could see the Imam and the Imam and you think, I'm a Mwali,
- 1:03:52I'm a Shia, I've gone to Alba and I do this, I do that.
- 1:03:55I participate in these institutions and programs.
- 1:03:58The the Imam puts you next to someone from, I don't know, Papa
- 1:04:03New Guinea, from the Congo. The Imam puts you as like you're
- 1:04:07equal. Will you get offended or will
- 1:04:11you accept that? Yeah, it's hard to.
- 1:04:13Think about that if you, if you struggle me, this guy, I, I need
- 1:04:22to work on myself. If the Imam is training me the
- 1:04:27same that he is with someone else, accept it.
- 1:04:30That could be your trial. Allah wants you to surrender.
- 1:04:33Don't think you're better than anyone else.
- 1:04:36Don't expect privileges from anyone, from Allah, from the
- 1:04:40Imam. Expect forgiveness, but don't
- 1:04:43expect privileges. Inside our heart, somewhere we
- 1:04:47expect privileges. That me for my Iman, for my
- 1:04:51faith, I've done this, I've done that.
- 1:04:52I expect privileges. The minute you expect
- 1:04:55privileges, you've lost your test, because the Imam will test
- 1:04:57you one day by not giving you those privileges, and then
- 1:05:00you're going to get disappointed in the imam.
- 1:05:03The minute you get disappointed in your imam, you failed your
- 1:05:05test, it's gone, it's over. That's that's another way to
- 1:05:09also look at it. That's why the qualities of
- 1:05:12those companions, they're indifferent.
- 1:05:14No, I'm not attached to anything.
- 1:05:17I'll sleep on the dirt. I'll sleep on the dirt.
- 1:05:19In this month of Ramadan, let's train ourselves.
- 1:05:21Give up some of your comforts. You know one thing I love about
- 1:05:25ziadas? Whether it's Amra Ziadra, I
- 1:05:28observe how the people in the group react to unexpected
- 1:05:34situations or if something's missing.
- 1:05:36Yes. Yes, yes, yes.
- 1:05:37You get that, you know, person who comes and he's angry because
- 1:05:42something didn't work in the hotel room, some light didn't
- 1:05:45work, the shower wasn't hot enough, the food.
- 1:05:48Was this what what happened? Stories of people not liking the
- 1:05:51food that. People not liking the food at
- 1:05:53the hotel or the room at the hotel or the wait a minute, you
- 1:05:57came here for what you really care.
- 1:06:01You really care about that thing in your hotel room, about the
- 1:06:04food in your hotel room when the family of Imam Hussain were
- 1:06:07starving. You really care about the food?
- 1:06:10Then why are you here now? How do I address that?
- 1:06:15Sacrifice some comforts occasionally, but on a regular
- 1:06:20basis to prove to your Nefs Al Hamdullah, if Allah has given me
- 1:06:25comfort, I'll enjoy it, I'll accept it, but I don't care
- 1:06:29about it. It's the last thing on my mind.
- 1:06:32So one night you're tired, you came back from work, you've had
- 1:06:35a long day. Instead of going and curling up
- 1:06:38under your warm blanket on your nice mattress, just sleep on the
- 1:06:42ground. No pillow, no blanket.
- 1:06:45Do it now. Don't put on social media.
- 1:06:48People will think you're crazy, but do try it.
- 1:06:51You're going to get up the next morning.
- 1:06:53Your body is going to be sore. You've slept on the ground.
- 1:06:55But I guarantee you the next day when you wake up, you're a
- 1:06:58stronger person. You've proven something.
- 1:06:59You've proven something and you've become you've.
- 1:07:03You have a stronger will in the morning and you remind yourself
- 1:07:06there are millions of people who sleep on the ground.
- 1:07:08Who are you? Who do you think you are?
- 1:07:11Give up some comforts occasionally just to prove to
- 1:07:14your Nephs I'm in charge, not you.
- 1:07:17Because surely say, the whole point of of Ramadan is that
- 1:07:21willpower concept in every sense of it, the comforts, the
- 1:07:25detachment from the comforts, the waiting until the time is
- 1:07:28ready and you, you reward yourself and Allah rewards you
- 1:07:31with, you know, company and good food.
- 1:07:33But is that what we're seeing in the in the world out there
- 1:07:35today, even in our communities? I'm not here to be harsh or
- 1:07:39judge. We indulge in Shahramavan.
- 1:07:41I see more comforts for us, that's.
- 1:07:43True. More sleeping, more food, more
- 1:07:47joys. I know some people, they'll not
- 1:07:50eat certain things that they like except in the month of
- 1:07:53Ramadan. Habibi, it's the exact opposite.
- 1:07:56If anything, don't eat it in Ramadan because you're trying to
- 1:07:59prove to yourself that this is the month where I renounce the
- 1:08:02world but we indulge in Ramadan. How?
- 1:08:06How can I be one of the 313 when the month of alarm treating I'm
- 1:08:11abusing it that way? That's all right.
- 1:08:13I really love your point saying that there's.
- 1:08:16It's it's a sad reality, but it gives us hope because there's
- 1:08:19room for. Change and it's a true reality
- 1:08:21and you know every time you're mentioning examples and
- 1:08:22analogies, I'm thinking you know, I'm remembering certain
- 1:08:25things you know I've Sarah I'm. Sorry.
- 1:08:30But saying that, there's a question I want to ask.
- 1:08:34It's got me thinking, yeah, I need we're here.
- 1:08:37We're praying for his reappearance and inshallah we
- 1:08:41get to see this day. But is there a fear that when
- 1:08:46Imam and Mahdi does return, we will say, for example, go back
- 1:08:50of son of Fatima Yani. The reason why I say this Yani,
- 1:08:53we're praying hard. I hope so.
- 1:08:56I hope everyone's listening, watching Inshallah you are
- 1:08:58making that do heart for his reappearance and working towards
- 1:09:01his reappearance. But when he comes, are we really
- 1:09:04going to be beside him? And I say this why I say it.
- 1:09:07We're Muslim Hamdullah. We know what's right, we know
- 1:09:09what's wrong. We know what's Haram.
- 1:09:11We know what's Haram, OK? We know something is Haram.
- 1:09:15God's told us this is Haram, but we're still going after it.
- 1:09:19So that's going to be thinking, if your mom Mandy's here the
- 1:09:21shar Allah and we live to see that day, what's stopping us
- 1:09:26from saying go back of son of Fatima If we're committing
- 1:09:30Haram, knowing is Haram. Does that make sense?
- 1:09:34Yes, here's how I understand it. There's no doubt that there will
- 1:09:39be some people who will say to the Imam, go back, O son of
- 1:09:44Fatima, this is the text of the hadith.
- 1:09:49Now let's read between the lines, as they say.
- 1:09:53When we say not we, I mean those people, whoever they are who are
- 1:09:57going to say that Inshallah, we're not among them.
- 1:09:59Inshallah. When those people say go back, O
- 1:10:04son of Fatima, it means they don't have a doubt who he is.
- 1:10:10They're saying to him son of Fatima.
- 1:10:13So they're not confused people. Oh, is he really the Imam?
- 1:10:17Is he the dead jot? Is he somebody else?
- 1:10:19No, they know he's the son of Fatima.
- 1:10:22So the first thing we can take away from these hadiths is these
- 1:10:25people know the identity of the Imam.
- 1:10:27They don't have any doubts about his identity.
- 1:10:30Because sometimes you can genuinely have a doubt, like,
- 1:10:32are you the really the Imam? Can you show me a miracle?
- 1:10:34I really need to know if you're the Imam.
- 1:10:35If you are, I will follow you blindfoldedly.
- 1:10:38I'll follow you. No, these people know he's the
- 1:10:41Imam. They still tell him to go back.
- 1:10:44Whoa, that's big. That's big.
- 1:10:46I can sympathize. Sympathize with someone who
- 1:10:50genuinely doesn't know. This is the Imam.
- 1:10:52He's trying to look for a miracle to make sure he's the
- 1:10:55Imam. That's understandable.
- 1:10:57I mean, if I'm confused, I would also look for a sign.
- 1:11:01These people are not confused. They know.
- 1:11:03They know he's the son of Fatima.
- 1:11:05Yet they tell him, go back. We don't need you or we don't
- 1:11:09want you. Why?
- 1:11:12Here's the take away. Don't they know that he's going
- 1:11:15to bring God's beautiful system? Don't they know he represents
- 1:11:19Adam, Musa, Isa, no Ibrahim? He's the whateth of all of them,
- 1:11:23the inheritor. He's the await.
- 1:11:25They know all of that. So what's their problem?
- 1:11:29I'll take you back to the financial factor and the social
- 1:11:33factor. These people have thrived in the
- 1:11:37RIBA and they have vested interests in whatever system
- 1:11:43they're involved with, and they're concerned the Mehdi will
- 1:11:47disrupt the system that they're taking advantage of, so they
- 1:11:51don't want his justice. Their comfort.
- 1:11:54This has 2 dimensions. One is the financial dimension.
- 1:11:58The second is the that's the position of.
- 1:12:01We'll talk that. That one's a bit sensitive, but
- 1:12:03we'll have to talk about it. The first one, let's say I
- 1:12:06engage in Haram business, indecent companies, alcohol
- 1:12:11companies, investments that are Haram and I'm thriving in the
- 1:12:15labour. You've got your money, you've
- 1:12:16got your businesses. You know when the Imam is going
- 1:12:19to reappear, he's going to disrupt that.
- 1:12:22I don't want him to come go back.
- 1:12:24I don't want you. I have already my way.
- 1:12:27I'm I'm comfortable with the status quo.
- 1:12:29I'm comfortable with it. I know who you are and I know
- 1:12:32exactly what your mission is. But Habibi, I'm enjoying myself.
- 1:12:36I've got my millions. I'm benefiting from these
- 1:12:39businesses. See what the problem is?
- 1:12:42Again, that attachment to the dunya, That's the first
- 1:12:46dimension. The second dimension, you have a
- 1:12:49social status. Your respected people are
- 1:12:51following you. And in fact, this could be
- 1:12:54applicable to some scholars. Now, it's wrong for us to
- 1:12:58generalize and say all scholars are going to fail and they're
- 1:13:01going to stand. No, we've got the righteous
- 1:13:03scholar. You've got the unrighteous
- 1:13:04scholar. Always throughout history, there
- 1:13:06was the, there were the good scholars and the bad scholars.
- 1:13:09It's nothing new. But let's say, let's say I'm a
- 1:13:12scholar at that time, I have a large following, people
- 1:13:15following me. People kiss my hand, people.
- 1:13:18Now the imam, when he's going to reappear the spotlight, is going
- 1:13:21to go where to? The.
- 1:13:23Imam to the Imam. If I have an issue of ego, I
- 1:13:26don't want him to come. Yeah, I I advocate for the Imam
- 1:13:31and his absence. I advocate I benefit from this
- 1:13:35whole system. But the reason why I like the
- 1:13:38system is because I'm benefiting from this system.
- 1:13:42But when he reappears, I fear this is going to get disrupted.
- 1:13:46I'm not going to the The spotlight is not going to be on
- 1:13:49me anymore. I'm going to tell him.
- 1:13:50You know what? Go back.
- 1:13:51I know who you are. I don't have any doubts, but go
- 1:13:54back, you see how dangerous that is.
- 1:13:57That's why whoever you are, wherever you are, every single
- 1:14:01day, evaluate yourself. Yeah.
- 1:14:03Who am I working for? Where does my ego fit in?
- 1:14:07Am I benefiting from anything or no?
- 1:14:09If honestly, you feel like you're attached to something,
- 1:14:12you're really benefiting from something, cut it.
- 1:14:15You don't need that in your life.
- 1:14:17Yeah, and I'll be, I'll be honest with you, since you asked
- 1:14:21me in the beginning of the podcast, that's one reason why
- 1:14:25some don't want to have social media.
- 1:14:27This is the first thing that came to my head.
- 1:14:29What you mentioned the point. Now, I'm not judging those who
- 1:14:32have. I respect those who have.
- 1:14:33I mean, through social media, I've seen some wonderful leaders
- 1:14:38and scholars and speakers and, you know, good influencers,
- 1:14:42right? And a lot of people benefit from
- 1:14:44that, right? But sometimes it can get to you,
- 1:14:47of course. Yeah.
- 1:14:48Sometimes social media can get to you when you get the likes
- 1:14:51and the comments and the attention right.
- 1:14:54If you are in that field and you're enjoying that attention,
- 1:14:58Habibi, run away from it it. Becomes like life support.
- 1:15:01It comes like life support. See, see, let me ask you this.
- 1:15:06Why do you need that validation from social media or the
- 1:15:10feedback of people when you know that you're serving a lot,
- 1:15:15you're serving the added bait and you're doing that, which is
- 1:15:17good. Why do you still need that
- 1:15:18validation? Yani, Allah is not enough for
- 1:15:20you as validation. Imam is.
- 1:15:22Imam himself is not enough for you.
- 1:15:24I still need Joe and Mike and Zaidan AM to give me that
- 1:15:27validation that shows me I've got a problem.
- 1:15:32That's where we fail in our test.
- 1:15:35When I still need validation. See, Abu Dhar told that servant
- 1:15:39of Othman, I don't need you. I've got Oulaya of Imam Ali.
- 1:15:43I don't need anything else. He doesn't need any validation.
- 1:15:47If his reputation is is tarnished, he doesn't care.
- 1:15:52His social status is taken away from him.
- 1:15:53He doesn't care. I've got Allah, I've got a
- 1:15:56debate. Who cares?
- 1:15:59Today in my community, Can I say that if I lose respect, if I
- 1:16:03lose status, you know, and part of the problem with the
- 1:16:07financial factor, you know what it is, It's not just comfort if
- 1:16:11you lose your job, if you lose your financial status, people.
- 1:16:14Disrespect. You exactly.
- 1:16:16People will see you differently. People will look at you
- 1:16:20differently. In fact, it's a type of
- 1:16:22humiliation socially. But the true movement, the true
- 1:16:27movement, the 313, I don't care. Allah's with me.
- 1:16:31The universe is really the Malaika, the imams.
- 1:16:33I should waste my time on people and how they think of me.
- 1:16:37Who cares? What's their value compared to
- 1:16:40Allah? That's how the 313 think.
- 1:16:44That's how the 72 think. I don't care about Ibn Ziad and
- 1:16:47his promises and what he's saying to the people and how
- 1:16:50people are talking about. I don't care.
- 1:16:52He's giving money, he's giving palaces, he's giving social
- 1:16:55status, political status. I have ABBA Abdullah, I have
- 1:16:59ABBA Abdullah. If 1000 times they burn me, they
- 1:17:02kill me and they resurrect me, I'll still stand with ABBA
- 1:17:05Abdullah. Because ABBA Abdullah is the
- 1:17:06whole. He's the existence to me.
- 1:17:09He represents everything. He's the universe to me.
- 1:17:13We say these words in our poetry, in our majidis.
- 1:17:16Do we mean it? Do we really mean it or no?
- 1:17:21That's that's how you get to the 313.
- 1:17:24So those scholars who will fight the Mehdi, according to the
- 1:17:27hadiths, their problem is not that they don't know who the
- 1:17:30Mehdi is. They know, but they don't want
- 1:17:33the Imam and they pray for his return.
- 1:17:36Sure, of course. In fact, they encourage us, you
- 1:17:39know, to pray for their return. They have the proper AKA it.
- 1:17:43We don't doubt they're AKA it. But it comes to an issue of the
- 1:17:48clash of interests and the ego and the wrong perception that
- 1:17:53when the Mandy comes, he's going to take the carpet from under my
- 1:17:56feet and I'm not going to get that spotlight anymore.
- 1:18:00So, like, go back. I don't need you.
- 1:18:02Say, just a last question for me because I know we've discussed a
- 1:18:07lot Hamdullah and I feel like we've still, I've still got at
- 1:18:10least like 7 or 8 questions at. Least more than that.
- 1:18:12But I'm going to try and I'm going to try and summarize,
- 1:18:14especially because we've talked a lot today about Abdullah
- 1:18:17Hussein Salaam and you know, we, we and I always have this
- 1:18:23comment, you know, I'm going to say we always come back, always
- 1:18:25comes back to. Every episodes.
- 1:18:27Yeah, it's something. Because Imam Mehdi is the
- 1:18:30continuation of Imam Hussein. See you mentioned as when we're
- 1:18:34talking about the signs in Bada that it's expected that he's
- 1:18:38going to be in Mecca get addressing the 313 on which
- 1:18:42night on. The night of.
- 1:18:44Why? Why?
- 1:18:45Out of all nights, the night of Oshawa, Why, what what do you
- 1:18:47what do you how do you understand my.
- 1:18:49Grandfather was the one who was Ashan and but this.
- 1:18:52Is. Yeah, but why does he bring that
- 1:18:54up though? The.
- 1:18:56What message is he telling people?
- 1:18:58I mean, is he just doing a medulist?
- 1:19:00Let's cry on Imam Hussein. What's his message?
- 1:19:03It's completion of. Exactly.
- 1:19:05Imam al Mehdi is basically saying to the world, Imam
- 1:19:08Hussein's mission was to bring justice.
- 1:19:11You people try to stop that, realize today I'm going to
- 1:19:14continue it. This is the revolution that my
- 1:19:17grandfather started. I'm continuing it.
- 1:19:20So that's why whenever you talk about the Mehdi and his
- 1:19:22companions, you have to go back to Imam Hussein and his
- 1:19:25campaign. This.
- 1:19:26Is my question said, because it's, and you mentioned this
- 1:19:29point and this was what I was going to ask because we here,
- 1:19:32I'll be very honest and transparent.
- 1:19:33So myself and a lot of brothers and sisters in the in the
- 1:19:38community have worked over the years to try and bring the name.
- 1:19:41The message of Rebut Abdullah Hossein is and I'm to the world
- 1:19:43around us. We have amazing organizations
- 1:19:46who is Hossein and so many others who do this and who have
- 1:19:49come to an effective way, let's say in the last 10 to 15 years,
- 1:19:53have developed a narrative depending on the region.
- 1:19:56You are depending on the, the the the demographic of people
- 1:19:58you're speaking to about how to communicate the message of a
- 1:20:01moment for sale Salaam to people in a way which is digestible and
- 1:20:04transferable and understandable. You use their language, you use
- 1:20:07their narratives, you use the values which people connect to,
- 1:20:11but it's easier for people to understand because you put it in
- 1:20:14comparison. To other social justice figures
- 1:20:17across history, not that there is a comparison, but rather a
- 1:20:20case of people understand this information because they can
- 1:20:22say, wow, this is a leader for this person.
- 1:20:25In the same way I might have a leader who I look at as a social
- 1:20:28justice leader, for example. But I realized, you know, a
- 1:20:31couple of weeks ago I was helping one of my brother's, my
- 1:20:35dear friends at a stall. He had a stall at a public event
- 1:20:39and it was like on the streets of London, OK.
- 1:20:43And the stall was focused on who is Imam al Mehdi.
- 1:20:48This was the the notion of the stall.
- 1:20:50So I was thinking about how to approach this because it's wajib
- 1:20:54on us to talk about the Imam and to prepare for his coming and to
- 1:20:58prepare the world for the arrival of the awaited Imam.
- 1:21:01But how do we do this? Because when we talk about Imam
- 1:21:04Al Hussain, we're talking about story of someone who lived and
- 1:21:07died when he gave his sacrifice. When we talk about about Imam Al
- 1:21:10Mehdi Ali Salaam, we're talking about someone who went into
- 1:21:14labour at the age of five, 1100 years ago, will return at some
- 1:21:17point, which we don't know and bring the world, you know, the
- 1:21:20earth to justice and so on. Islamic figure, but he'll be
- 1:21:23peaceful with other relations, other religions and so on.
- 1:21:26It seems mythical from the non-muslim perspective.
- 1:21:30And this is something which I wanted to ask, how do we do
- 1:21:32that? Because when the Imam makes
- 1:21:33those, how Hadith says the five statements he makes between the
- 1:21:36rukun and the Makam, three of them will relate directly to
- 1:21:39Imam Hussein Ali Salaam. But the world, and when they
- 1:21:42hear that say, had a call and they hear Mohammed Ibn al
- 1:21:45Hassan, they're going to ask, where have I heard that name?
- 1:21:49So there must be a responsibility on us to, to, to,
- 1:21:53to impart that knowledge somehow.
- 1:21:55How do we do it? Do we talk about the values that
- 1:21:58the Imam will bring and what we're working towards, you know,
- 1:22:00the political and economic sense?
- 1:22:02Do we talk about him from a biographical sense?
- 1:22:05It's a very difficult question because I think we need to
- 1:22:07elevate now our communities. If I'm going to be really
- 1:22:10brutally and critically honest in the last 20 years, we've got
- 1:22:14to a point now where we can say Al Hamdullah, our youth, the
- 1:22:17majority of them are educated and literate and, and they're
- 1:22:20they're they're smart enough to talk about Omar al Hussein in a
- 1:22:23way which is digestible for for a non-muslim.
- 1:22:27But the next step for us is to be able to talk about Omar al
- 1:22:30Mehdi. How do we do that?
- 1:22:32This is a question which I've been like thinking about a lot
- 1:22:34in the last few weeks. Sorry I'm I'm been rambling but
- 1:22:37I feel quite passionate about this.
- 1:22:40Absolutely. This is a very important thought
- 1:22:44to have. How do we introduce Imam al
- 1:22:46Mehdi to the world in a way that people can resonate with, in a
- 1:22:50way that doesn't seem too mythical and legendary for
- 1:22:53people to dismiss it and think, ah, this is just another myth.
- 1:22:57That's very important because the more we introduce the Imam
- 1:23:00properly, the more I believe it will expedite his return because
- 1:23:05it prepares the world for his arrival, for his reappearance,
- 1:23:09such that when they hear the sahat, when they hear of his
- 1:23:13return, people like, OK, we're familiar with that.
- 1:23:15That resonates with us, and they're more willing to support
- 1:23:19the Imam when they see him in that light.
- 1:23:22So how do we introduce the Imam to the world?
- 1:23:25Now, there are many ways and different scholars, different
- 1:23:31experts in this field will give you different recommendations.
- 1:23:35And there's, and then, and then there's the all, there's the
- 1:23:37customized way too. It depends on you who you're
- 1:23:40speaking to. Let's say if I'm speaking to a
- 1:23:42Sunni audience, what would I say to them about the Mehdi that we
- 1:23:46believe in when they believe? OK, you believe he's been alive
- 1:23:51for about 12 centuries. That's mythical.
- 1:23:53Come on, What would I say to that?
- 1:23:55What would I say to the Jewish? What would I say to the
- 1:23:57Christian? What would I say to the atheist?
- 1:23:59So there's definitely an element of customization that you have
- 1:24:02to do to get the message across. But if I had to stick to one
- 1:24:07global message, regardless of whom I'm speaking to, whether
- 1:24:11the Christian, the Jewish, the Shia, the Sunni, the atheist, I
- 1:24:14would stick to this message. The Mahdi is basically the hope
- 1:24:19for humanity today. The more you look around the
- 1:24:24world, the more we are hopeless, the more depression is on the
- 1:24:28rise, suicide is on the rise, anxiety is on the rise,
- 1:24:32loneliness is on the rise. Despite our technology, our
- 1:24:36science, our wealth, we're struggling with our mental
- 1:24:39health. Why?
- 1:24:40People don't really have something hopeful to hold on to.
- 1:24:45And when you look at the future of the world, it's very grim.
- 1:24:48If you ask the scientists, oh, this, the oceans are going to
- 1:24:51rise. Half the UK is going to be
- 1:24:53underwater. I don't know if Florida's going
- 1:24:54to go underwater. Maldives is going to disappear.
- 1:24:57Go and see it while you're alive.
- 1:24:59Make it your honeymoon destination, right?
- 1:25:01Because 20 years from now, it's not going to exist.
- 1:25:03And the wildfires we saw in California, the natural
- 1:25:07disasters, the droughts. You look at the future, there's
- 1:25:11no hope. You look at the moral state of
- 1:25:13the world with what we're seeing right now, right?
- 1:25:17Yeah. You know, on on media, the TV,
- 1:25:19the school system, what they're teaching our children, you lose
- 1:25:23hope. I know brothers and sisters were
- 1:25:24like, I don't think I'm going to have children.
- 1:25:27Why say it? Tell me why should I have
- 1:25:28children when the world is so dark like that?
- 1:25:32Do I really want to raise children in such a world?
- 1:25:35Everywhere you go, there is lack of hope.
- 1:25:40Financial security is becoming, you know, something that people
- 1:25:44really try to pursue. A 20 years ago, it wasn't like
- 1:25:48that. Honestly, I remember 2020 years
- 1:25:51ago here in the UK and Canada, in the US, and OK, people always
- 1:25:55have their financial struggles, but people were OK.
- 1:25:58Right now, people are worried about jobs and security and
- 1:26:02money and investments, and they're worried even though
- 1:26:05people have become richer. Can you see the irony?
- 1:26:07People have become richer, the living standards have improved,
- 1:26:11but people are more concerned. So the common theme that I'm
- 1:26:15seeing is lack of hope. Imam and Mehdi, for me, in one
- 1:26:20sentence to introduce him, he is the hope for humanity.
- 1:26:27Any concern that you have, you'll find the solution in Imam
- 1:26:32and Mehdi. You're concerned about wars and
- 1:26:36an injustice and countries using advanced weapons.
- 1:26:40Imam and Mehdi will bring safety to the world.
- 1:26:42The hadith says a woman, a woman will walk from Syria to Iraq.
- 1:26:47And we know how dangerous these zones are.
- 1:26:50Alone, alone. She can walk.
- 1:26:52Nobody will harass her. Nobody, nobody will stop her.
- 1:26:56Can you say that in some of our Western capitals in New York and
- 1:27:01Detroit and Chicago and some parts of London?
- 1:27:03Can a lady go and nobody's going to harass her?
- 1:27:06No, No. But this Imam al Mehdi gives you
- 1:27:10personal security, gender security, economic security,
- 1:27:14financial security, health security, healthcare, justice.
- 1:27:20He is the hope for humanity and all of us.
- 1:27:24We hope that God will bless us with a representative, but we
- 1:27:28have to humble ourselves, tell people, look, we failed despite
- 1:27:32our country's OK, We have democracies, great, wonderful.
- 1:27:35We're not saying let's go to to theocracies or dictatorships.
- 1:27:39No, fine, keep your systems, but are they solving your problems?
- 1:27:42No, they're not. Don't you think God who created
- 1:27:47us? I mean, when you're talking to
- 1:27:48Christians and Jews, they believe in God.
- 1:27:50Don't you believe God who's created us has something bigger
- 1:27:53for us than this? That's it.
- 1:27:55This is the peak of civilization with all the poverty and
- 1:27:58injustice that we're seeing. Is that it?
- 1:28:00There's definitely something more than that that God has in
- 1:28:03store for us. You Jews believe in your
- 1:28:05Messiah. You Christians believe in your
- 1:28:08Messiah, Jesus. We Muslims believe in your
- 1:28:10Messiahs too. But we're going to combine
- 1:28:13forces. We're going to work as a team.
- 1:28:17The Mahdi is that team who works with Jesus and the Messiah to
- 1:28:23bring that global justice. It's not a myth.
- 1:28:26It's what you Christians believe.
- 1:28:28We're just only adding one element you're not aware of.
- 1:28:32Jesus is going to work with another representative of God.
- 1:28:35We call him the Mahdi. And I would tell fellow
- 1:28:39Christians, I would tell them, look, today if you look at the
- 1:28:41global population, 8 billion, half of the global population,
- 1:28:45at least 4 billion Muslims and Christians, they make up half of
- 1:28:50the world population. These are the two who Revere
- 1:28:54Jesus, You Christians, OK, obviously.
- 1:28:57Who other than the Christians Revere and respect Jesus and his
- 1:29:01mother, the Virgin Mary, who we Muslims, why is it far fetched
- 1:29:07for you Christians that work? We are going to work with our
- 1:29:11Imam, with Jesus. We love Jesus, nobody loves him
- 1:29:16more than us from the other religions.
- 1:29:19We admire him, we advocate for him, we believe in his miracles.
- 1:29:25So our Messiah is going to work with your Messiah.
- 1:29:28Why is that far fetched? That's a reality.
- 1:29:30It's not a myth. You already believe in that
- 1:29:33Messiah. We're just telling you who else
- 1:29:35is going to work with him. I think that would be a very
- 1:29:38effective, simplified way of communicating that to the
- 1:29:41people. But the hope factor, I think, is
- 1:29:45what we'll do it. People need hope.
- 1:29:48People are looking for security. Imam and Mehdi represents that
- 1:29:51security. Thank you.
- 1:29:53So thank you so much. I think that's that's very
- 1:29:56pertinent and there's definitely I think we're going to see in
- 1:30:00the coming years, I hope and shot a lot our communities, our
- 1:30:03youth take initiative and maybe we can develop this and it's
- 1:30:07through consultancy with scholars and teachers like
- 1:30:10yourself to develop a formula which works because I feel like
- 1:30:15we we have a responsibility to do that, especially us here in
- 1:30:18the West. We are, we're valuable assets to
- 1:30:21the Imam. I truly believe we speak the
- 1:30:24language of the West. We integrate with the
- 1:30:26communities here. We have normal jobs.
- 1:30:28We act very western in our day-to-day interaction and we
- 1:30:32have an advantage over 95% of the Shia world who aren't given,
- 1:30:38you know, access to this. Do you see what I mean?
- 1:30:40Absolutely, we have this. Responsibility, therefore, is
- 1:30:43heavy on us. Here and I, this is, I mean, I
- 1:30:46know you're, you know, you did the migration session at the
- 1:30:48Muslim convention a couple of weeks ago.
- 1:30:50And that's the whole, but one big argument which weighs in my
- 1:30:54mind is Allah has placed me here.
- 1:30:57Maybe this is where I reach my potential.
- 1:30:59And maybe I'm here to serve the Imam like as a minority of the
- 1:31:04Shia community. And I'm, I live in this society
- 1:31:07amongst all these people who don't believe in my Imam, but I
- 1:31:10have that accurate within me. I need to think strategically
- 1:31:14how to utilize that. So it's something which weighs
- 1:31:16on my mind. And that's a conversation for
- 1:31:18Inshallah next time when you're in Townsend.
- 1:31:20So but thank you so much said said anything to add.
- 1:31:24You guys say the very heavy question, but I I'm I'm so
- 1:31:28happy. The way you answered it very
- 1:31:29eloquently, it is universal and Imam Mehdi, Inshallah is the
- 1:31:32hope for everyone, not just the Shia.
- 1:31:34But brings me to a final point from me saying that, if you
- 1:31:37don't mind, I know we've taken so much of your time already now
- 1:31:41that we've we've said, for example, we've addressed the
- 1:31:43Christians or the Jews, but there's one more group that.
- 1:31:48Really, really gets. To me online saying and the
- 1:31:51trolls, the trolls and they, no, not all of them.
- 1:31:55Some of them are, you know, ignorance in their beliefs.
- 1:32:00They attack us on our social media.
- 1:32:02They constantly mock. Us to our DMS, they leave us
- 1:32:05their. Comments.
- 1:32:06They make a mockery. I I just want them to open their
- 1:32:10heart and I want you to tell them something.
- 1:32:12Say it. Some words of advice.
- 1:32:14Why? As a Muslim, firstly, you need
- 1:32:18to respect Imam al Mehdi and pray for his reappearance.
- 1:32:22What would you tell them? Sent that is.
- 1:32:25That is a very important aspect of this discussion.
- 1:32:27Because it's part of their belief 100%.
- 1:32:31Not just the part of their beliefs.
- 1:32:33I, I would, I would say the following.
- 1:32:36When you go back to your hadiths, the hadiths that are
- 1:32:40found in the books of our Sunni brothers and sisters, you will
- 1:32:44find hundreds of narrations from Rasul Allah Sallallahu Alaihi
- 1:32:52about the Mahdi and the advent of the Mahdi.
- 1:32:55By the way, the Saha that we talked about, do you know that
- 1:32:58in Sunni sources this has been mentioned?
- 1:33:02But like I said, it doesn't say Gibraltar.
- 1:33:03This is an Angel when you look at the combined narrations from
- 1:33:08the Prophet. About.
- 1:33:09The Mahdi and the signs of the reappearance and what his
- 1:33:11mission is. You have narrations that amount
- 1:33:15to the hundreds. My question to my Sunni brothers
- 1:33:20and sisters is this. If you're Rasul dedicated so
- 1:33:23much time to talk about the Mehdi, Honestly, I'm asking a
- 1:33:29humble, brotherly, genuine question.
- 1:33:32Why is it that this issue has become so secondary to you and
- 1:33:39not part of your main discussions?
- 1:33:42Sometimes you spend hours on your pulpits talking about one
- 1:33:45hadith the Prophet said, which is good.
- 1:33:48If the Prophet said one thing, I'd still discuss it.
- 1:33:51It's my Prophet. But if he's invested that much
- 1:33:54time where there are hundreds of hadiths from the Prophet about
- 1:33:58the Mehdi, why is Imam and Mehdi absent from your discussions?
- 1:34:03Why are you not concerned about who his?
- 1:34:06Identity is. The prophet is going to tell you
- 1:34:08about this mysterious Mandy and he wouldn't even care to tell
- 1:34:12you who he is, which family he comes from, what's his family
- 1:34:15tree, who his father is. Is that even rational that the
- 1:34:18prophet talks about him hundreds of times?
- 1:34:21But who is he? Oh, I don't care who he is, he's
- 1:34:22going to appear at some point in the future.
- 1:34:25Does that add up? Be honest with your prophet.
- 1:34:28If you want to honor your prophet and the words of your
- 1:34:31prophet. Are you going to marginalized
- 1:34:33this issue and unfortunately those ignorance, are you going
- 1:34:36to mock the belief and the Mahdi?
- 1:34:39That's one part of it. The second Part 1 of the biggest
- 1:34:43things they mock is the long life of Ali Mahmad, Mahdi Ayushi
- 1:34:47as believe in this mythical figure, 1200 years he's been
- 1:34:50living, he's been hiding, come on.
- 1:34:53And they really mock this. Even some of those who are a bit
- 1:34:56moderate, they still find this difficult to digest.
- 1:35:00Now there are many ways of addressing that.
- 1:35:02I know a lot of you will tell you will tell me say we could
- 1:35:05just tell them Prophet Noah and the Quran 950 years ago.
- 1:35:08It doesn't really work with them.
- 1:35:09No matter how many times you use these verses.
- 1:35:12I would say the following to them.
- 1:35:13I would say in your works, in your Sahih works and ask your
- 1:35:17Sunni scholars you believe that the Djad has been alive since
- 1:35:23the days of the prophets of Allahu Aywala?
- 1:35:25Did you know there Hadid state that that the jot as a physical
- 1:35:29being not as a system, as a one eyed human being has been alive
- 1:35:36since the time of Rasulullah Allah?
- 1:35:40That is the mainstream authentic hadith.
- 1:35:42I even wanted to check like what Wahhabis and bin Baaz says.
- 1:35:45He says yes we accept it. I just want to check even the
- 1:35:48extreme ones, OK? He said yes, we accept that
- 1:35:51based on our hadiths that the Jol is alive.
- 1:35:54So he's been alive at least 14 centuries, so at least 200 years
- 1:35:59more than Imam al Mehdi. And he's hiding and he's going
- 1:36:03to come and cause deception. So you and a Sunnah
- 1:36:07conveniently, easily believe in this evil figure present here on
- 1:36:13earth, hiding for 14 centuries, and that's completely OK.
- 1:36:17And you'd be offended if somebody would mock you?
- 1:36:21On what grounds do you come and mock me for believing in the
- 1:36:26representative of Allah, the source of hope, the one who
- 1:36:30never separates from the Quran, the thick lane, the family of
- 1:36:34the Prophet, the Mahdi, if he is alive, 12 centuries on earth,
- 1:36:39for a lot of reasons, wise reasons.
- 1:36:42Why do you struggle with this? Why do you mock me for believing
- 1:36:45in that? Why?
- 1:36:48And then you mentioned the basement thing in the beginning,
- 1:36:50right? We were when we were having the
- 1:36:52discussion, another aspect that they will mock you about all you
- 1:36:55believe in this Mehdi who's been in a basement for, I don't know,
- 1:36:5912 centuries. Imam al Mehdi was in the
- 1:37:03basement of his house. The guards of the Abbasid
- 1:37:07government stormed into his house to arrest him because they
- 1:37:10had heard he might be there. Now if there are guards outside
- 1:37:16and you go in your basement to hide and have an exit strategy,
- 1:37:20is that something unusual? It's your house, it's your
- 1:37:23basement, for God's sake. And then Allah Subhanahu Ta'ala
- 1:37:27blinded them, the soldiers and the Imam left.
- 1:37:29We don't believe that Imam is hiding in a basement for 1200
- 1:37:33years. We believe that the Imam Ali
- 1:37:35Salaam was in a basement when they tried to locate him and
- 1:37:39Allah saved him. And for any Muslim who struggles
- 1:37:42with that, I'll take you back to your Prophet Sallallahu Aliwale.
- 1:37:45The Prophet Sallallahu Aliwale, on the night of the migration,
- 1:37:48the Hijra when Imam Ali slept in his bed, the Prophet blinded
- 1:37:52who? The mushrikeen, he poured dust
- 1:37:56in their face and he read this verse from Surat Yasin Wajala
- 1:38:00Mumbai ID him said then woman held for him said then fell
- 1:38:03Shayna hum for home Lai absolute.
- 1:38:05Our dear brothers from Addison. Do you not accept this biography
- 1:38:08of the Prophet? Is this not mentioned in your
- 1:38:09books? And then where did he go?
- 1:38:12Well, the verse of The Cave is not something they will ever
- 1:38:14overlook, right? They consider it the biggest
- 1:38:16virtue for Abu Bakr, right? Who did he take with him to The
- 1:38:19Cave? So the Prophet left his house.
- 1:38:22He saw Abu Bakr on the way. The Prophet didn't want the
- 1:38:26mushriks to know his whereabouts because if Abu Bak would run
- 1:38:29into the Prophet and then he would go and see them against
- 1:38:32they'd interrogate him. They'd figure out where the
- 1:38:34Prophet is. So to hide his whereabouts, the
- 1:38:36Prophet said come with me, I don't want to be exposed here.
- 1:38:39Where did the Prophet go for three days?
- 1:38:43Where cave he was hiding where in a cave.
- 1:38:49It's context said I would tell my brothers and sisters from
- 1:38:52other. Schools of thought.
- 1:38:54The same Lord who keeps his prophet hiding in a cave for
- 1:39:00three days to protect him will protect his grandson, the Mehdi
- 1:39:06for a few hours in the basement. Why is that mythical and funny
- 1:39:10and you make a mockery out of it, but we accept the other one?
- 1:39:13I said be honest, be fair. Look, you're welcome.
- 1:39:18To criticize, to critique, to ask.
- 1:39:23We're not asking anyone to blindly accept.
- 1:39:25Ask with evidence. But be fair.
- 1:39:28Have decency in your ishqaal, in your problem for you to come and
- 1:39:34make a mockery. You're disgracing Rasul Allah if
- 1:39:38you mock us for believing in the media in the basement tomorrow
- 1:39:41the non-Muslims going to mock you and say oh you're Rasul was
- 1:39:44in a cave hiding. Hiding in a cave.
- 1:39:48Don't open this bag of worms on yourself.
- 1:39:52Be decent, have an intellectual discussion, ask what the
- 1:39:56evidence is that the man you can live like that long Didn't your
- 1:40:01rest would say my family? The added bait will never
- 1:40:04separate from the Quran until the day of judgment.
- 1:40:07Is that not enough evidence for you that one of the members of
- 1:40:11added bait has to be alive as long as there's the Quran on
- 1:40:15earth? And didn't your prophet say 12?
- 1:40:20Yeah. Any name you want, Amir, He said
- 1:40:23it. Khalifa, he said it.
- 1:40:24Imam he said it what word do you want?
- 1:40:27So he said 12 the prophet says this world is not going to stop
- 1:40:31until 12 rule and these 12 cannot separate from the Quran.
- 1:40:36So Habibi, one of them has to have a long life because if they
- 1:40:40all live a normal 70 year life. And the 12.
- 1:40:43Are gone. Who's going to be with the
- 1:40:45Quran? The prophet says the world will
- 1:40:48not end until 12 rule and he said my family the Arabic will
- 1:40:51never separate from the Quran. Why is this difficult to accept?
- 1:40:57Forget that Shias believe in this because I know some have
- 1:41:00allergies to whatever we believe in.
- 1:41:04Forget we believe in that. Just look at what your prophet
- 1:41:07taught you. What does he want from you?
- 1:41:10Forget us and what we believe in.
- 1:41:12Be honest with your books, with your prophet, with Allah,
- 1:41:16Subhanahu, Watan, open your hearts.
- 1:41:20You don't want that day to come where you're disoriented and you
- 1:41:23follow the call of Shaitaan. Because if you're mocking the
- 1:41:28Mahdi today and Jibra, it says, hey, get ready, the Mahdi is
- 1:41:31coming. You're going to fight the Mahdi.
- 1:41:33If I spent my life mocking the Mahdi and mocking people who
- 1:41:37believe in the Mahdi, well, guess what?
- 1:41:40In what camp are you going to find yourself and on that day
- 1:41:44when the Siah happens? And don't say this is a Shia
- 1:41:46belief. No, in your Sunni books the Siah
- 1:41:49has been discussed, hadiths from the Prophet, from Ibn Ahmad.
- 1:41:53You want more than that from the son of Omar Abdul Kabab.
- 1:41:55He talks about the Siah, quoting the Prophet.
- 1:41:58When that Siah happens, on whose side are you going to be Iblis
- 1:42:02or Jibrai or that Angel according to your books?
- 1:42:05Well, if you've spent your whole life mocking the Mahdi and those
- 1:42:08who believe in the Mahdi, good luck.
- 1:42:12Thank you so much. Muhammad.
- 1:42:20We still pray for guidance. And he died.
- 1:42:24Taking so much of your time saying it's been.
- 1:42:26My pleasure and honor to be part of this podcast.
- 1:42:29Have we put you off? Would you come back?
- 1:42:33Let's be real. Yes, that's not the answer.
- 1:42:38I would. I would come back.
- 1:42:39In a heartbeat. Anytime.
