- 0:16Speaker 1: Welcome to Jack Zama.
- 0:17Speaker 2: I'm kind of honesty Eves, Frian Sexton, and John Osier
- 0:19Speaker 2: with me this morning as we get ready for a
- 0:21Speaker 2: Week three matchup with the Texans. We're gonna go over
- 0:25Speaker 2: our big things with you today, brought to you by
- 0:26Speaker 2: g e h A Government Employees Health Association benefits for
- 0:29Speaker 2: federal employees and retiree.
- 0:31Speaker 1: So big thing number one is aggressive, not reckless.
- 0:34Speaker 2: After the game against the Bengals, head coach n and
- 0:36Speaker 2: Cohen very adamant about going for it on fourth down
- 0:39Speaker 2: in Bengals territory rather than taking the field goal when they.
- 0:42Speaker 1: Had a three point lead.
- 0:43Speaker 2: He said analytics said so, and that it's always.
- 0:45Speaker 1: A go for him.
- 0:46Speaker 2: He elaborated further on Monday about why he is always
- 0:48Speaker 2: going to be aggressive with his team.
- 0:50Speaker 3: Well, that was a combination of data and gut where
- 0:55Speaker 3: you're saying, okay, who's on the other side, other quarterback,
- 0:58Speaker 3: your opposing quarterback on the road, you know, to go
- 1:02Speaker 3: up six there that we've watched that scenario play out
- 1:07Speaker 3: too many times in my game management meeting for me
- 1:11Speaker 3: to not feel one hundred percent confident with that decision.
- 1:15Speaker 3: You watch so many opportunities where you do that, you take,
- 1:19Speaker 3: you go up six, you kick it off. They get
- 1:22Speaker 3: the ball at the plus thirty to thirty five yard line,
- 1:25Speaker 3: and now their mindset is touchdown, and so you go
- 1:29Speaker 3: down and they go down and score, and you lose
- 1:31Speaker 3: by one point. You guys would all be killing me
- 1:33Speaker 3: today anyway. So at the end of the day, I
- 1:37Speaker 3: want to be aggressive and give ourselves a chance to
- 1:40Speaker 3: go close games out on our terms.
- 1:45Speaker 2: Jegglers weren't able to convert that fourth down, so obviously
- 1:47Speaker 2: questions arise Brian when they lose a game like that,
- 1:50Speaker 2: But he mentions, you know, analytics part of it, part
- 1:53Speaker 2: of it's what the.
- 1:54Speaker 1: Feeling of the game is. But reiterating that he wants
- 1:57Speaker 1: to seem to be aggressive.
- 1:58Speaker 4: At all times, Well, it was some questions rochecard because
- 2:00Speaker 4: people just aren't used to that sort of aggressiveness. They're
- 2:02Speaker 4: used to the conventional way of doing things. And he
- 2:05Speaker 4: told us on the first drive of the season, when
- 2:07Speaker 4: he went for it on fourth and one inside his own.
- 2:10Speaker 5: Forty yard line, that he was going to be aggressive.
- 2:12Speaker 4: He wants to trust his team and he wants his
- 2:15Speaker 4: team to trust him. When John he decided he was
- 2:19Speaker 4: going to do it.
- 2:19Speaker 5: I went, Wow.
- 2:21Speaker 4: But when you just took a minute to think about it,
- 2:24Speaker 4: what he just explained, it made a lot of sense.
- 2:26Speaker 4: And he had confidence in your defense. You had them
- 2:28Speaker 4: backed up with a backup quarterback. They did get them
- 2:31Speaker 4: to fourth down a couple of times. I love the
- 2:34Speaker 4: aggressiveness and I love the fact that this guy, as
- 2:37Speaker 4: his team improves, it's only going to take chances more often.
- 2:40Speaker 5: Yeah.
- 2:40Speaker 6: Do you remember the hue and cry and the outcry
- 2:43Speaker 6: when he went for it on fourth and one in
- 2:44Speaker 6: the opener? No, because it worked. I mean, and that's
- 2:47Speaker 6: what happens. I the old school guy. I even said,
- 2:53Speaker 6: he KaiA said this is a bad decision when he
- 2:56Speaker 6: did it.
- 2:57Speaker 5: But that's the old school guy.
- 2:59Speaker 6: And I stepped back, and I realize the NFL these days,
- 3:04Speaker 6: more and more, you assume the other team in that
- 3:07Speaker 6: situation thirty five forty yard line late in the game,
- 3:09Speaker 6: as he said, with the mindset of going for it
- 3:11Speaker 6: means they're playing four downs. This is the way they
- 3:14Speaker 6: play football in the NFL. Now, he's going to be aggressive.
- 3:18Speaker 6: He's always going to do it. I've got a lot
- 3:20Speaker 6: of ozone questions, Brian, and a lot of debate.
- 3:23Speaker 5: You can end the debate. It's what he's gonna do.
- 3:25Speaker 1: Well.
- 3:25Speaker 4: Listen, if Brian Thomas Junior catches the ball again, there's
- 3:28Speaker 4: no debate about it at all.
- 3:30Speaker 5: He called the right play.
- 3:31Speaker 4: Kai he had it dialed up perfectly, and the quarterback
- 3:34Speaker 4: put the ball there. Brian just didn't catch it. And
- 3:36Speaker 4: I don't want to beat that horse because I know
- 3:38Speaker 4: we're going to talk about that plenty, But the reality
- 3:40Speaker 4: of it is is he made the right decision and
- 3:42Speaker 4: he called the right play.
- 3:43Speaker 5: It's just now about.
- 3:44Speaker 2: Execution, Yes, all about execution. Some changes here in Jacksonville.
- 3:47Speaker 2: So it's nice to see and know what we're going
- 3:49Speaker 2: to see going forward. Our second big thing today is
- 3:51Speaker 2: going to be communications. Communication is key always, but a
- 3:54Speaker 2: little talk being made of the reaction between head coach
- 3:57Speaker 2: Dan Cohen and quarterback Trebor Lawrence going back and forth
- 4:00Speaker 2: on the sideline during the game.
- 4:02Speaker 1: Now both of.
- 4:02Speaker 2: Them kind of reiterating it wasn't that big.
- 4:04Speaker 1: Of a deal, but also Coan talked about it on Monday.
- 4:08Speaker 3: Yeah, it gets made to be a thing that obviously,
- 4:11Speaker 3: you know, in the in this rat poison world we
- 4:14Speaker 3: live in, but uh, it's you know, it's the it's emotional.
- 4:19Speaker 3: It's an emotional game. It's a competitive game. We're all competitive,
- 4:23Speaker 3: We're all emotional. I can control mind better, and uh,
- 4:27Speaker 3: you know, he was just telling me to like move on.
- 4:30Speaker 3: You know, he wasn't telling me to go screw. It's
- 4:33Speaker 3: just saying, dude, move on, you know, like come on, guys,
- 4:37Speaker 3: like it's uh, but yeah, to answer your to answer
- 4:40Speaker 3: your question.
- 4:42Speaker 1: Ryan it.
- 4:43Speaker 3: I was very pleased with the way he you know,
- 4:46Speaker 3: he showed something, you know, he did got ticked off
- 4:48Speaker 3: at times. He had great dialogue with his teammates on
- 4:51Speaker 3: the sidelines. He made some huge throws for us and
- 4:55Speaker 3: critical moments and if anything, I was extremely coouraged with
- 5:01Speaker 3: with Trevor post games.
- 5:05Speaker 2: John, We've got a rat poison mention a lah Nick Saban,
- 5:08Speaker 2: so that's always fun. But talking about that relationship, this
- 5:11Speaker 2: is a different coaching style for Trevor.
- 5:12Speaker 1: I think it might be good for him.
- 5:14Speaker 5: Yeah, look that's all real.
- 5:16Speaker 6: I mean now what Liam was saying, and a goat
- 5:18Speaker 6: to some people over the time he's been here. He
- 5:21Speaker 6: has a very unique way of holding players accountable. His
- 5:25Speaker 6: communication with players, He's gonna get in their face, He's
- 5:30Speaker 6: going to be emotional with him. But at the same time,
- 5:33Speaker 6: when he does that, he has a way that they
- 5:35Speaker 6: know they support that, they know he supports them. It's
- 5:40Speaker 6: a different kind of style than I've been around. But
- 5:42Speaker 6: the players respond to it. They trust it. I think
- 5:45Speaker 6: Trevor Lawrence trusts that they can have that sort of interaction,
- 5:48Speaker 6: and so does Liam. And it not have ramifications. This
- 5:52Speaker 6: is a story because rat poison, whatever, because this thing
- 5:56Speaker 6: turns into a story, but it's not an issue within
- 5:59Speaker 6: these walls.
- 6:00Speaker 4: It's a game of emotion and of human confrontation.
- 6:04Speaker 5: Right.
- 6:05Speaker 4: I loved it because I think that we need a
- 6:08Speaker 4: bit of that. You know, the coach is passionate and
- 6:11Speaker 4: Trevor Lords is decidedly dispassionate. You know, when he's out
- 6:15Speaker 4: there playing football, he isn't ruled by his emotions, and
- 6:19Speaker 4: so to have a coach who is the opposite end,
- 6:22Speaker 4: there's a balancing effect here, and I think that'll be
- 6:24Speaker 4: good for both of them. Plus, it's drama and football
- 6:28Speaker 4: is entertainment and it drives viewership and people are interested.
- 6:32Speaker 5: We're still talking about.
- 6:33Speaker 4: It, but overall, bottom line, I really believe that this
- 6:36Speaker 4: will be good for both men.
- 6:37Speaker 6: Okay, I can't tell you the number of times I've
- 6:39Speaker 6: heard in the last month they're coaching Trevor really hard
- 6:42Speaker 6: because he's learning new things, adapting to a system. He's
- 6:45Speaker 6: being coached differently than ever before. The number of times
- 6:48Speaker 6: that I've heard they are ecstatic with how he's taken
- 6:52Speaker 6: that coaching. So again, this is a thing because these
- 6:56Speaker 6: things become a thing in social media e. It's not
- 7:00Speaker 6: thing inside the walls.
- 7:01Speaker 2: I was gonna say, I think Trevor's really taken to
- 7:03Speaker 2: it as well, at least from what we've seen the
- 7:05Speaker 2: first couple of weeks and through training camp. So our
- 7:07Speaker 2: final big thing today is gonna be Texans time, because
- 7:09Speaker 2: before we know it's going to be Texans time here.
- 7:11Speaker 2: The Texans are returning to be the first divisional.
- 7:14Speaker 1: Matchup so far for the Jags.
- 7:17Speaker 2: We've seen a lot so far from what this new
- 7:20Speaker 2: regime is going to look like, Brian, but these games
- 7:22Speaker 2: are important.
- 7:22Speaker 1: So what are we gonna see against the textim?
- 7:24Speaker 5: You know, Kay, Just to give her what a history lesson.
- 7:26Speaker 4: The Texans came in here as an expansion team in
- 7:29Speaker 4: two thousand and two and beat the Jaguars, and ever
- 7:32Speaker 4: since then they have had the upper hand and it
- 7:34Speaker 4: felt like in twenty twenty two that the Jaguars had
- 7:37Speaker 4: turned the corner and they were ready to sort of
- 7:39Speaker 4: sit atop the division in the South like they never had.
- 7:42Speaker 5: And yet here comes c. J.
- 7:43Speaker 4: Stroud, who's won three of four against the Jaguars over
- 7:46Speaker 4: the last two years. And then you have the move
- 7:49Speaker 4: with the linebacker you know, and the hit on Trevor
- 7:53Speaker 4: last year. The Jaguars have a lot of reasons to
- 7:56Speaker 4: be emotional and to play hard, But the most important one, John,
- 8:00Speaker 4: is they have an opportunity to go to and one
- 8:02Speaker 4: and to make the Texans oho and three, and that
- 8:05Speaker 4: is all that matters this week.
- 8:07Speaker 6: Yet I'm not gonna dwell on the hit. That's gonna
- 8:09Speaker 6: be a topic enough as we move forward. But the
- 8:12Speaker 6: Texans are a team that likes to try to intimidate
- 8:15Speaker 6: under Amico Ryans, They're a physical team. They'll push this week.
- 8:21Speaker 6: I believe the Jaguars will push back.
- 8:23Speaker 2: Let's see, all right, say with Heren Jagzam, we're gonna
- 8:25Speaker 2: talk more about what's coming up the rest of the week.
- 8:36Speaker 1: BEGXAM brought to you.
- 8:37Speaker 2: By Field's Auto Group, Jacksonville's premier luxury auto group. You
- 8:40Speaker 2: can check them out at fields Auto dot Com. Also,
- 8:43Speaker 2: this weekend's home not homeowner, our first Divisional game against
- 8:46Speaker 2: the Texans, brought to you by UF Health, the official
- 8:48Speaker 2: healthcare partner of the Jacksonville Jaguars. This over.
- 8:53Speaker 1: This welcome back to jag Zam. This morning.
- 8:56Speaker 2: We're to talk a little this or that as we're
- 8:58Speaker 2: looking ahead to that divisual matchup against the Texans.
- 9:00Speaker 1: What we might see out of the offense.
- 9:03Speaker 2: A little bit because we saw some two kind of
- 9:06Speaker 2: two players kind of jumped out to me a little
- 9:08Speaker 2: bit in terms of getting extra playing time. We'll start
- 9:10Speaker 2: out with facial Tuton, obviously the traded tank Bigsby to
- 9:13Speaker 2: the Eagles last week, and then Tooton got some increase
- 9:16Speaker 2: in carries and he certainly took advantage of that.
- 9:20Speaker 1: Do we think that I'll keep increasing every week?
- 9:21Speaker 2: Do we think it'll be a slow Maybe later in
- 9:23Speaker 2: the season we'll kind of take over. You think it's
- 9:25Speaker 2: always going to be half and half with the etend.
- 9:28Speaker 4: I think it's going to reach that point where it's
- 9:30Speaker 4: happened half with him in ETN because I think gets
- 9:33Speaker 4: clear that the young legs are dynamic and he is
- 9:36Speaker 4: a playmaker.
- 9:37Speaker 5: And this coaching staff loves him, and Etn.
- 9:40Speaker 4: Just keeps performing at a level. There's no reason to
- 9:44Speaker 4: not have him on the field as well. These guys
- 9:47Speaker 4: take a lot of hits. Running back careers are notoriously
- 9:50Speaker 4: short because of all the abuse that they take. So
- 9:53Speaker 4: why not go fifty to fifty if that's what Tuton
- 9:56Speaker 4: has earned At this point it looked like he had
- 9:58Speaker 4: earned it last Sunday and since Mattie John and you know,
- 10:02Speaker 4: I mean, maybe it's forty five forty five and then
- 10:04Speaker 4: ten percent for laquint Allen because he brings you something.
- 10:07Speaker 6: To Yeah, I couldn't agree more. I think they're I
- 10:13Speaker 6: don't want to say they're gonna work or they're gonna
- 10:15Speaker 6: have to work to keep Touton off the field, because
- 10:18Speaker 6: I don't think they want to and I don't think
- 10:19Speaker 6: they want to work to keep these guys on the field.
- 10:21Speaker 6: Tuton has shown there's gonna be a time in the
- 10:25Speaker 6: next eighteen twenty four months for this franchise where I
- 10:28Speaker 6: think this kid's the guy, and he's shown speed, he's
- 10:32Speaker 6: shown pretty remarkable balance and toughness. I think it's really
- 10:40Speaker 6: it's a testament to how well Etn's played that Tutan's
- 10:44Speaker 6: not already starting though, because they believe he has that
- 10:47Speaker 6: kind of ability, And Travis has just earned the right
- 10:50Speaker 6: to still be playing because he's playing so well. It's
- 10:52Speaker 6: an unbelievable good situation running back.
- 10:54Speaker 4: Pardon me, I think I believe that that will continue
- 10:57Speaker 4: because Etn's playing for his future, which is like plead
- 11:00Speaker 4: to be somewhere else on the fifth year option this year.
- 11:02Speaker 4: So as long as you have a player who's so
- 11:03Speaker 4: motivated to keep playing at a high level, I think
- 11:05Speaker 4: it benefits everybody to just keep giving.
- 11:07Speaker 5: Them both reps.
- 11:08Speaker 2: I know John kind of predicted the ETN breakout, but
- 11:11Speaker 2: it's been nice to see the team as a whole
- 11:13Speaker 2: talk about, you know, focusing on the run but really
- 11:15Speaker 2: embracing it and so forth. And so what we talked
- 11:18Speaker 2: about just Liam Collen coaching the run and kind of
- 11:21Speaker 2: the plays and how he's involving the running backs and everything.
- 11:24Speaker 1: It's making them so much more dynamic.
- 11:25Speaker 4: I thought ETM was the best player on the field
- 11:27Speaker 4: for most of training camp, and I'm not surprised that he's.
- 11:30Speaker 5: Able to carry it through. But it doesn't always happen
- 11:32Speaker 5: that way.
- 11:33Speaker 2: Let's talk about another really good training camp performance and
- 11:35Speaker 2: also now we're seeing in the regular season Parker Washington
- 11:38Speaker 2: probably had the best training camp of that maybe anybody
- 11:40Speaker 2: who saw on offense. And you know, when his number
- 11:43Speaker 2: is called, it's not called a lot, but he comes
- 11:45Speaker 2: through on the offense making some tremendous catches against the Bengals, John,
- 11:49Speaker 2: is it time to find more time for him?
- 11:51Speaker 1: Or yes?
- 11:52Speaker 6: Passin how do you do it? And the only reason
- 11:55Speaker 6: he hasn't played more is because it's been so hard.
- 11:57Speaker 6: You have three talented guys in that lineup in front
- 12:02Speaker 6: of him. But he was remarkable the other day and
- 12:07Speaker 6: run after the catch, the catch he made down near
- 12:11Speaker 6: I'm gonna say it's a fifteen yard line. You know,
- 12:13Speaker 6: I'm going very high point of the ball. That's as
- 12:16Speaker 6: good as catch outside Evan Ingram's catch against Green Bay
- 12:19Speaker 6: last year in the end zone. He read to remembers
- 12:21Speaker 6: that was an unbelievable catch. Yes, he's going to play
- 12:25Speaker 6: a lot more. He's earned it, and frankly, they're a
- 12:30Speaker 6: better team when he's in the game then maybe the
- 12:34Speaker 6: other any of the other three receivers right now. So
- 12:36Speaker 6: he has to play.
- 12:37Speaker 4: Football is a meritocracy. You earn your time by what
- 12:41Speaker 4: you do. And if Diammy Brown drops passes in the
- 12:46Speaker 4: end zone, Parker Washington is going to get his opportunity
- 12:49Speaker 4: to play. If Brian Thomas Junior can't make key catches
- 12:52Speaker 4: like fourth down in the final couple of minutes, then
- 12:56Speaker 4: Parker Washington's going to get his chances. And I'll use
- 12:59Speaker 4: an example because you both there and he saw it.
- 13:01Speaker 4: Parker Washington made a big debut in Cleveland in twenty
- 13:04Speaker 4: twenty three. You remember that game, and he made a
- 13:06Speaker 4: couple of spectacular catchers like wow. Well, he just he
- 13:09Speaker 4: had to develop some more and become more consistent. But
- 13:12Speaker 4: we've seen this from them all throughout training camp and
- 13:14Speaker 4: then hop about last week. I mean, Parker Washington's won
- 13:17Speaker 4: five foot seven and he went up over a six weight.
- 13:20Speaker 6: He's tall five foot seven, but I get your point.
- 13:22Speaker 5: But he's but he's sort of a Maurice Jones drew.
- 13:24Speaker 4: He's not much taller than five foot seven, and he
- 13:27Speaker 4: went up over the much taller player and just snatched
- 13:31Speaker 4: the ball away. Well, that's skill, that's that's that's talent,
- 13:35Speaker 4: that strength, and that's want to that's drive. He wanted
- 13:38Speaker 4: to make that play and be the best, and I
- 13:41Speaker 4: think that's such a good example for Brian Thomas Jr.
- 13:44Speaker 6: And here's also the thing that I'm sure is happening,
- 13:46Speaker 6: and Trevor would never say it. He's gotta have more
- 13:50Speaker 6: trust in Parker Washington right now than Diame and Brian
- 13:54Speaker 6: Thomas Junior. I'm not trying to criticize those two, but
- 13:57Speaker 6: every time he throws the ball to park or something
- 14:00Speaker 6: good happens, when you're under fire in the pocket, you
- 14:03Speaker 6: naturally start going to that guy.
- 14:04Speaker 5: Yep.
- 14:04Speaker 2: I think we'll see more of it as well. So
- 14:06Speaker 2: coming up after break, we'll talk a little bit about
- 14:08Speaker 2: what's been going on around the division and the NFL.
- 14:15Speaker 1: For twelve years. Dream Finders Homes.
- 14:16Speaker 2: I've been proud to call themselves the official home builder
- 14:18Speaker 2: of the Jagson Girl Jaguars. Vis A Dreamfinders' Homes dot
- 14:20Speaker 2: Com for all of the available inventory and go Jags.
- 14:25Speaker 2: Welcome back into Jags Almazola's a correct camera.
- 14:28Speaker 1: Welcome back because we're gonna talk a little bit.
- 14:30Speaker 2: About the NFL and the AFC South as well, but
- 14:33Speaker 2: talk about that injury Goughburrow saw him leave in the
- 14:36Speaker 2: second quarter of the game against the Jaguars. This weekend
- 14:39Speaker 2: and now confirmed information he's gonna have to get surgery
- 14:41Speaker 2: on his foot's turf toe and he could be out
- 14:44Speaker 2: three months, which is Jake Browning came back and got
- 14:48Speaker 2: the win for his team. So I don't know if
- 14:49Speaker 2: they're gonna go that rout or they're gonna bring someone
- 14:51Speaker 2: else in. But it's tough to see, and I don't
- 14:53Speaker 2: like to see when some of the best quarterbacks in
- 14:55Speaker 2: the league are hurt because for some of the most
- 14:57Speaker 2: dynamic players to watch and it kind of stakes.
- 15:00Speaker 4: And last week we have talked up to tell us
- 15:02Speaker 4: what a great guy he was with the leader.
- 15:05Speaker 5: This is his third major injury in six seasons.
- 15:08Speaker 4: I think he had a shoulder and I know we
- 15:09Speaker 4: hit the ACL back in twenty twenty.
- 15:12Speaker 5: He is a great player and with.
- 15:14Speaker 4: Those receivers, they're a contender when he's on the field
- 15:17Speaker 4: and healthy. The problem is they haven't been able to
- 15:19Speaker 4: be all together on the field and healthy.
- 15:22Speaker 6: Yeah this pass now, I mean, I think I'll stick
- 15:24Speaker 6: with brown because they did a couple of years back.
- 15:27Speaker 6: They're two in a out three minds spare as twelve
- 15:30Speaker 6: games when Jake was in there before he had him
- 15:34Speaker 6: in five hundred, so they go eight and six. They
- 15:37Speaker 6: still stay in this thing, which Jake Brown. I think
- 15:40Speaker 6: they think Jake Brown can do that because guess what,
- 15:43Speaker 6: they have maybe the best receiver in the NFL and
- 15:46Speaker 6: another great player on the other side.
- 15:48Speaker 5: We saw the other day.
- 15:49Speaker 6: They can get teams. If a team doesn't get away
- 15:52Speaker 6: from them, those guys can make enough place to keep
- 15:54Speaker 6: the Bengals in it. They'll be interesting to watch because
- 15:56Speaker 6: they don't back down when Burrow's out.
- 15:58Speaker 4: The problem that they're going to have is that their
- 16:00Speaker 4: offensive line is clearly not good enough.
- 16:02Speaker 1: It hasn't been for a while, No.
- 16:03Speaker 4: It hasn't guy and their defensive line the interior doesn't
- 16:07Speaker 4: appear to be either. And Trey Hendrickson can do a lot,
- 16:10Speaker 4: but he can't put his hand on the ground and
- 16:12Speaker 4: playing a three technique, Well, he could, but you don't
- 16:15Speaker 4: want to do that with him.
- 16:16Speaker 5: So they've got some holes there.
- 16:18Speaker 4: And in the NFC or a part of the AFC
- 16:20Speaker 4: North where you've got Pittsburgh in Baltimore, it's gonna be
- 16:23Speaker 4: tough to stay in contention.
- 16:25Speaker 1: Absolutely.
- 16:25Speaker 2: Let's check in around the division. The Texans were on
- 16:28Speaker 2: Monday Night Football last night and lost at the last
- 16:31Speaker 2: second to the Bucks, and now the Texans are zero
- 16:35Speaker 2: to two coming in here this week.
- 16:36Speaker 6: John, Yeah, and from the Jags perspective, the Colts are
- 16:41Speaker 6: dangerous and no only mentioned them because they're in first place.
- 16:44Speaker 6: So by not talking about them and this, I'm not
- 16:45Speaker 6: ignoring the Colts. But if you think the Texans are
- 16:48Speaker 6: the are the division favorite, which I still kind of do,
- 16:53Speaker 6: then getting them in a hole on Sunday would be
- 16:56Speaker 6: a major deal. They've lost to two good teams, so
- 16:59Speaker 6: let's not write them off. The Rams are good and
- 17:03Speaker 6: the Bucks are sort of sneaky.
- 17:05Speaker 5: Good, so.
- 17:08Speaker 6: They have holes clearly the Texans do, but they're gonna
- 17:12Speaker 6: be a hard out Sunday because of desperate team Sindra agree.
- 17:16Speaker 4: I think the difference between the Jaguars and the Texans
- 17:18Speaker 4: in the last couple of years has been more from
- 17:20Speaker 4: an attitude perspective, right, the way that they played the game,
- 17:24Speaker 4: the confidence they had in themselves, their quarterback and their coach,
- 17:27Speaker 4: and they were a resilient ball club.
- 17:29Speaker 5: And John said that they like to play bullyball. They
- 17:31Speaker 5: like to beat you up. Well, that's the.
- 17:33Speaker 4: Way that Liam Cohen and Tony Bisselli and James Gladstone
- 17:36Speaker 4: have built this team, so I expect the Jaguars to
- 17:39Speaker 4: understand the circumstances on Sunday and come out and match
- 17:43Speaker 4: that bully attitude with one of their own. And I
- 17:46Speaker 4: don't think that the Texans are that much better than
- 17:50Speaker 4: this football team, but they've won the last two division titles,
- 17:52Speaker 4: so a nod to them.
- 17:54Speaker 2: Definitely one of the matchups I'm most looking forward to,
- 17:56Speaker 2: just because of that mentality, to kind of see how they.
- 17:58Speaker 6: Match up tests to establish if this team thinks it's physical,
- 18:03Speaker 6: then they want to be the most physical, tough team
- 18:05Speaker 6: in the division. They've got to show the Texans that
- 18:08Speaker 6: they're that tough.
- 18:08Speaker 4: I would like them to find where zero is and
- 18:10Speaker 4: run right at him over and over and over again.
- 18:14Speaker 1: It run and run it.
- 18:15Speaker 2: Let's go to the leaders of the division now, right
- 18:17Speaker 2: now though the Colts. They are two to zero after
- 18:19Speaker 2: some dramatics at the end of their game against the Broncos, and.
- 18:24Speaker 1: I got it.
- 18:25Speaker 2: I'm not gonna lie. I'm not gonna give them too
- 18:27Speaker 2: much props. But Indiana Jones is a great nickname, and
- 18:29Speaker 2: Daniel Jones has really been doing something there. John's we
- 18:35Speaker 2: never feel like they're out of the mix totally. It's
- 18:38Speaker 2: almost one of those teams where it depends what time
- 18:40Speaker 2: of the year we play them what they're going to
- 18:42Speaker 2: look like. But with Daniel Jones, it seems to be
- 18:44Speaker 2: working right now.
- 18:44Speaker 6: But they're a good roster and they obviously have a great, great,
- 18:47Speaker 6: great running back. Their issue, ever since Luck got hurt,
- 18:51Speaker 6: has been the constant search for the right guy to
- 18:55Speaker 6: elevate what has always been at least a decent roster
- 18:59Speaker 6: around the quarterback. I don't know that Daniel Jones is
- 19:03Speaker 6: a Pro Bowl player. He has unbelievable numbers this year.
- 19:06Speaker 6: I don't know he's a Pro Bowl guy. He might be,
- 19:09Speaker 6: but it certainly Brian seems like he's at least a
- 19:12Speaker 6: guy who can have that team functioning. To me, they're
- 19:16Speaker 6: dangerous because of that. I mean, you're two and zero, Yeah,
- 19:18Speaker 6: it takes a while to dip back to the pack.
- 19:20Speaker 6: So they're dangerous and you've got to go beat him.
- 19:23Speaker 4: He's the latest version of Baker Mayfield and Sam Darnold,
- 19:27Speaker 4: former high pick that has to go to another team.
- 19:30Speaker 4: This is his third team now because remember he signed
- 19:32Speaker 4: with Minnesota last year after the Giants let him go.
- 19:36Speaker 4: I think Jonathan Taylor is the second best running back
- 19:39Speaker 4: in the league. Saquon Barkley is obviously number one, but
- 19:42Speaker 4: Jonathan Taylor when he's been healthy, and that's been the
- 19:44Speaker 4: key John is he hasn't been able to stay healthy.
- 19:46Speaker 4: He's had a foot or ankle injury that has slowed
- 19:48Speaker 4: him down the last two years. But I mean, he
- 19:50Speaker 4: was the league's leading rusher a few years ago, almost
- 19:52Speaker 4: two thousand yards. Now that he's got a quarterback, he's
- 19:55Speaker 4: even more dangerous. I didn't think that this roster was
- 19:58Speaker 4: very good, but with Daniel Jones unpacking, unlocking Jonathan Taylor,
- 20:04Speaker 4: all of a sudden, guys who were kind of okay
- 20:07Speaker 4: are all of a sudden playing at a much higher level.
- 20:09Speaker 4: But I think Daniel Jones was that guy, the key
- 20:11Speaker 4: to getting this team going, and they are very dangerous
- 20:14Speaker 4: as long as Jonathan Taylor stays healthy.
- 20:16Speaker 6: Yeah, Taylor's also that guy at running back. Cawk is ticking,
- 20:19Speaker 6: but right now he's at a peak of ability. Yep,
- 20:23Speaker 6: still in his prime and now the experience, so he's
- 20:28Speaker 6: right at that sweet spot of being absolutely.
- 20:31Speaker 4: If they can keep him healthy, they're going to be
- 20:32Speaker 4: a really big problem in the AFC.
- 20:35Speaker 2: Will be interesting because the jagson't actually play them. They
- 20:37Speaker 2: played them pretty close back to back, not quite back
- 20:39Speaker 2: to back, but much much later in the season. So
- 20:41Speaker 2: we'll see how this kind of progresses for them from
- 20:43Speaker 2: Afar until we get to play him a couple of times.
- 20:45Speaker 2: Stay with us here, We'll tell you what's going on

- 22:05Speaker 2: going to be released tomorrow night or miked u might
- 22:07Speaker 2: already be out. Sounds of game will be released tomorrow night,
- 22:09Speaker 2: and it's nice to see a little bit. We also
- 22:11Speaker 2: put out the postgame locker room from the loss, which
- 22:15Speaker 2: is something we haven't done before and I don't see
- 22:17Speaker 2: a ton of around the league as well, and it
- 22:19Speaker 2: was very interesting to kind of see that perspective.
- 22:21Speaker 4: What do we talk about, you know on Monday and
- 22:23Speaker 4: drags wart. How radically transparent this head coach is. I mean,
- 22:27Speaker 4: he holds nothing back and it is so amazing to
- 22:32Speaker 4: have that because, as you mentioned, very few people do.
- 22:36Speaker 5: I think it tells a great story.
- 22:37Speaker 6: They're doing things the right way. And when you do
- 22:40Speaker 6: things the right way, you don't mind who sees it.
- 22:42Speaker 4: Yep.
- 22:42Speaker 1: Absolutely. Who you guys talking to this week? What are
- 22:44Speaker 1: you looking forward to?
- 22:45Speaker 6: I'm talking to one of the team captains Robert Hainsey.
- 22:50Speaker 6: I'm looking forward to that. I don't know him very well.
- 22:52Speaker 6: He's been impressive as he's come in elected captain his
- 22:55Speaker 6: first year, in his relationship with Liam Cohen and how
- 22:58Speaker 6: he has sort of been the leader of transition or
- 23:01Speaker 6: one of the leaders in this transition.
- 23:03Speaker 5: He's a cool story.
- 23:04Speaker 4: I'm gonna talk with Matt Edwards, the defensive line coach.
- 23:07Speaker 4: Obviously it's a big challenge this week, and I also
- 23:09Speaker 4: want to check down Parker Washington, getting his thoughts on
- 23:13Speaker 4: being a guy that Trevor console.
- 23:15Speaker 2: Absolutely, I'm checking in with another captain. I'm gonna be
- 23:17Speaker 2: off the field with Jordan Lewis this week, who is
- 23:20Speaker 2: on the ozone podcast and he's just a really interesting guy,
- 23:22Speaker 2: so I think that'll be fun as well. Of course,
- 23:24Speaker 2: we'll be back on Jags Am tomorrow. We're gonna do
- 23:26Speaker 2: a deep dive. I'll tell you all about the Texans
- 23:28Speaker 2: and what to expect in the matchup.
