What happened
AlterNet reports that the American Psychiatric Association’s Goldwater Rule prevents its members from offering professional diagnoses of public figures they have not personally examined. The rule does not keep all doctors from discussing President Donald Trump’s conduct, and it does not prevent voters from judging whether he is fit for office. It restricts one association’s psychiatrists from presenting remote diagnosis as professional fact.
