  My name is Megan and I'm here with another character

  breakdown. And it's actually not a mutant,

  it's a it's Jeff Landshark. Surely by now you've heard of

  this super unserious character, but if not, I'm here to tell you

  all about him. Personally, I've had I've taken

  a real beef with this little character ever since he
• 0:35
  continued to humble me and Marvel Rivals, which led me to
• 0:39
  not playing anymore. So, but I think that speaks more
• 0:42
  to my skills than Marvel Rivals, so that's on me.

  Jeff first appeared in West Coast Avengers Volume 3 #7 in
• 0:49
  January 2019 and was created by Kelly Thompson and Daniel de
• 0:53
  Nacoglia. If the name Kelly Thompson
• 0:55
  sounds familiar to you, that's because she is currently killing
• 0:58
  it with Absolute Wonder Woman, and if you haven't checked it

  out, you absolutely should. Jeff started out as one of the
• 1:04
  land sharks created by Modoc after the West Coast Avengers
• 1:08
  fought the Masters of Evil. West Coast Jeff was adopted by
• 1:11
  Gwen Poole during her time with the team.

  Later, Jeff ended up with Elsa Bledstone, who promised she'd
• 1:18
  always take care of him. But Gwen transported Jeff to
• 1:22
  Gwenpool's island instead, where he hung out safely in her
• 1:27
  viewing box with her friends rather than being forced into
• 1:30
  fights. While there, he even watched
• 1:32
  Gwenpool take down the Hulk. Because it's Gwenpool and
• 1:35
  anything, literally anything, can happen with Gwenpool.

  At one point, Gwen started worrying that she might not get
• 1:42
  another solo series. Like I said, anything could
• 1:45
  happen with Gwenpool, so she left Jeff with Deadpool because
• 1:49
  she was concerned about his future.

  Jeff became Deadpool's royal pet when Deadpool was King of Staten
• 1:55
  Island. Eventually Elsa Bledstone took
• 1:58
  over again and became Jeff's caretaker.

  There was also that one time Jeff accidentally cleared out a
• 2:05
  whole pool party. He was just swimming around with
• 2:09
  only his fence sticking out of the water, and everyone freaked
• 2:12
  out and ran. When he popped back up, he
• 2:15
  realized what had happened. To avoid scaring people again,
• 2:17
  he got himself a dolphin costume and swam around in that instead,
• 2:22
  which actually worked and kept people calm.

  So at some point, Jeff somehow made it all the way to the
• 2:30
  Netherlands where he happily ran through fields of tulips.

  Unfortunately, with only his fin visible above the flowers, he
• 2:39
  once again terrified the locals because they thought it was a
• 2:42
  shark in the flowers. Jeff has also gotten into some
• 2:47
  serious mischief. He once stole Captain America
• 2:50
  shield, Kate Bishop's trick arrows, Miles Morales mask,
• 2:54
  Doctor Strange, Eye of Agamotto, Falcon's wings and Black Widows
• 2:59
  gauntlets. Then he used all of it to ambush
• 3:02
  the heroes when they went looking for their missing gear.
• 3:06
  Somehow, he even got his fins on the Infinity Gauntlet and ate
• 3:09
  it, along with a bunch of other items that gave him a massive
• 3:13
  stomach ache. So Kate had to take him to a
• 3:15
  doctor. So basically, what I'm trying to
• 3:17
  tell you is that Jeff the Land shark is a toddler.
• 3:22
  Yeah, that's the best way to describe that.
• 3:25
  After that, Jeff started living with Kate.
• 3:27
  For reasons no one can really explain.
• 3:29
  He ended up bonded to a symbiote, but he seemed pretty
• 3:33
  OK with it. Eventually, Kate helped him get
• 3:36
  rid of the parasite. Except the symbiote didn't
• 3:40
  actually die, and they never do. It was just dormant in Jeff's
• 3:45
  closet. Later, when Jeff got left behind
• 3:48
  in Kate's apartment because he took too long changing costumes,
• 3:51
  the symbiote bonded with him yet again.
• 3:54
  Jeff tried to shake it off but ended up rampaging through
• 3:57
  Central Park for a bit, and eventually they decided to call
• 4:00
  a truce and team up to find food.
• 4:03
  Symbiote. Jeff made his way to Coney
• 4:05
  Island and started stealing snacks from the stands, but
• 4:09
  things escalated when the zombie yachts attacked.
• 4:12
  Jeff teamed up with Hawkeye, Gwenpool, America Chavez and
• 4:15
  fused to fight them off, using his symbiote powers to take them
• 4:19
  down. In the end, the zombie yachts
• 4:21
  were defeated thanks to a giant speaker blasting the baby shark
• 4:26
  song. Once they'd eaten and calmed
• 4:29
  down, Jeff and the symbiote willingly separated.
• 4:32
  After all that chaos, Jeff, his hero friends, and the crowd
• 4:36
  celebrated with churros. So yeah, that's Jeff the
• 4:39
  Landshark. He is a very unserious
• 4:41
  character, and he is basically the toddler of Marvel Comics,
• 4:47
  where a lot of heroes have to take their turn babysitting him.
• 4:54
  So yeah, if you never knew anything about Jeff Lynn Shark,
• 4:58
  that doesn't matter. It really doesn't.

  He's a character that you don't have to think too hard into and
• 5:04
  you don't have to know the lore to enjoy him in the comics
• 5:07
  'cause he's just there randomly at doing his thing.
