- 0:00I'm going to start off with a big shout out to two of our listeners is it Matt and
- 0:04me I don't listen to this show Welcome to multiple
- 0:10nerdgasm with your hosts Matt Luke and
- 0:14Dan multiple nerdgasm your guide to All
- 0:20Things nerdy so remember last week I offered a
- 0:25trade for some steam trading cards I do remember I've got yours Dan thank thank
- 0:30you very much yeah you're welcome I think what's happened with Matt St is
- 0:33because you opened the pack that sort of messed it up so I may have to put
- 0:38another request in for you I've never received a request from you I'm afraid
- 0:42but I'm like I said the deal stands so but two of our listeners have also
- 0:47offered to give me all their trading cards offered themselves up to you mhm
- 0:51Craig and Nate have said yep I can have it and they're going to continue to feed
- 0:55my addiction for these things that mean nothing look I mean that's very generous
- 0:59I just I do need to point out to Craig and Nate um let's stop feeding his
- 1:05addiction after these cards like cards fine usually feeding Luke's addiction is
- 1:10not something you want to do so let's just keep that in mind but I am going to
- 1:15be nice I haven't decided what but I will buy them a game in exchange for the
- 1:18cards I don't want to just take them I'm not that much of a dick buy them a game
- 1:22I'm pretty sure you didn't buy my game L I'm pretty sure the game that you
- 1:25swapped me for you just looked and said what do I have two off sorry no I did
- 1:30purchase that game I purchased that I've purchased steam Engineers I purchased a
- 1:34four pack of that game oh cuz the plan was we were going to play it and that's
- 1:39why that's where mats came from is I gave that to him and now I've given it
- 1:43to you okay that's my fault now we can play it now I have it oh no we probably
- 1:47still won't yeah we probably still won't but we could and that's what counts we
- 1:51could talk about it yeah we could certainly talk about it we're good at
- 1:54that it's on the Xbox now so I'd probably play it there achievements my
- 1:58Xbox is packed away oh no yeah but IES I've been doing yeah
- 2:04it's going to go on the boat I I've been doing so much just gaming on Steam and
- 2:09Gog and I just I'm not going to miss it nothing's coming out during the time I'm
- 2:13moving so what what you should actually look at for getting like Xbox game pass
- 2:17on your PC oh yeah you get on your PC there's 100 PC games you have access to
- 2:22oh interesting yeah I've used that interesting like including they what
- 2:26just came out this week was Fallout 76 oh is that out now it's out interesting
- 2:33as part of Game Pass cuz I have Fallout
- 2:354 uh on PC because of that I noticed but yeah so if you want if you do want to
- 2:41give full 76 TR without having to pay money Now's the Time Well money try
- 2:47without money I'd have to sign up to Game Pass and that's not free well no no
- 2:50you can sign up for your free trial oh okay yeah that's true that's true oh
- 2:54maybe I will I probably won't I don't think don't know if you've noticed this
- 2:57but free trials are starting to disappear here huh I think and this is
- 3:02something sort of happened around the start of the pandemic and everyone being
- 3:06locked in so Netflix and Disney plus I think have both got rid of their free
- 3:10trials really I didn't know that and cuz if you look at it everyone already knows
- 3:16what they do like it's not a big shock anymore yeah but you do have those
- 3:21people who just always create a new account and get the free trial [ __ ] that
- 3:26sounds so annoying why would I would and that's why I think yeah starting to get
- 3:30rid of those first month three type of thing because if you're going to want it
- 3:35you're going to pay for it and now speaking of Fallout Matt you've been
- 3:38playing a bit of Fallout this week have you been playing the original Fallout I
- 3:43did I how'd you go I think I started because so I got caught in this um you
- 3:49know you get caught in a YouTube uh bingeathon and I found a very good
- 3:54series there's a YouTuber by the name of Joseph Anderson and he does these very
- 3:58long but very good kind of retrospective videos on video games and other things
- 4:03films and stuff too MH uh and he did one on The Witcher series uh only the the
- 4:09first game is out and he's got one for witch two Witch three coming out and
- 4:13during it I'm pretty sure during that video he mentioned Fallout and just it
- 4:17just you know like clicked something in my brain and I was like I got to play
- 4:19the original Fallout again so I installed it and I've been playing it
- 4:22and I'm a little addicted to it but it's a bit buggy I don't know have you played
- 4:26it recently I have not recently stop Apparently one of the things you can you
- 4:33can [ __ ] yourself over I didn't know this was a thing if you're playing
- 4:37Fallout and you start um reloading saves
- 4:42to try and get better results on things like that for some reason that [ __ ] up
- 4:47your save because as a deterrent like is that I don't think so I think it's
- 4:52something to do with the way that it manages memory with to do with the saves
- 4:55or something like that you can end up like it'll load the state of the old
- 4:58save game but you get like for example my issue is in um junktown there's a
- 5:05quest where you know you go into the bar at night and you see the fight where the
- 5:09the gang members punch the waitress right so that happens yep I remember
- 5:15that but before that right I got into that sequence in the hotel where you got
- 5:20to rescue the the woman from the the guy who goes crazy and kidnaper anyway the
- 5:25way that I saved it I saved it with I'd
- 5:30already seen the brawl in the bar H and then I rescued her and then I
- 5:35reloaded it a couple of times to get a better result rescuing her and it got
- 5:39all scrambled up so now when I try and play from a save where I didn't have the
- 5:45bar fight yet the bar fight doesn't happen because it's got that flag flipped in the save
- 5:51game so I don't know if that makes sense but that's what that's kind of what I'm
- 5:55talking about a little flag that says something has already happened will get
- 5:58flicked and then accidentally saved when it didn't happen yet I wonder
- 6:03if that's what's happening with me because I stopped playing Fallout
- 6:06because I'm at a point where I'm in the
- 6:09prison of the mutant town right Y and I'm and there's a guard standing outside
- 6:15the door and I can't escape and I've tried every way to escape and he just
- 6:18kills me every time and so I went online I found an FAQ and and everyone just
- 6:24says when he walks away from the door run away but I've [ __ ] left this
- 6:29thing on for an hour he doesn't walk away from the door and I've tried
- 6:33standing in every position in the room and I've tried doing everything clicking
- 6:36on like I'm pretty sure he's meant to be walking away but this he's not he is not
- 6:40has he ever done it while you were playing ever yeah I no no I I I think
- 6:46the first time I played it he was pacing in the hallway yeah I think see maybe
- 6:51some flag got [ __ ] up because if if that happened and then you Reloaded The
- 6:56bit where it said that already happened may have stayed and loed the game and
- 7:01[ __ ] yeah that's that's what happens that makes a lot of sense I got remember
- 7:06this is a game from the 90s mhm but it's still a [ __ ] fantastic game and I'm still
- 7:12fantastic you have to you have to be you have to get past that first start of the
- 7:18game it's really hard to get started in that game with the graphics and
- 7:20everything now cuz when you start out coming out the Vault and you're in that
- 7:23Temple thing fighting cockroaches it's very easy to turn it off and just go no
- 7:28yeah yeah it is very slow I got Shady sand I was like no this is okay yeah and
- 7:35the controls are kind of a little more clunky than I remember them being as
- 7:39well mhm it's also not terribly good at I mean older games weren't as good at
- 7:45this but just keeping track of what the [ __ ] you're supposed to be doing like
- 7:48all it says is find the water chip and it doesn't tell you that I already
- 7:52talked to somebody here and he told me I should maybe check this place and this
- 7:55and that happen doesn't none of that's in there like if I don't remember that
- 7:58I'm [ __ ] yeah and and it is that now games were a lot more punishing back
- 8:04then yeah I don't know Luke I've been playing a game that's been punishing me
- 8:07a lot but I've been doing that on purpose because I'm a masochist it's a dominatrix
- 8:12simulator practically now guys I've I've uninstalled disco alium now so that I'm
- 8:18not tempted to play you done I played through the third time
- 8:23finished the uh hardcore mode and got the achievement for that and uh
- 8:28uninstalled so y nice maybe when I get a hold of my tie I can wear it and I'll be
- 8:35tempted to play again I know someone who has that has a tie much like the one you
- 8:38want I got one exactly like the one you want yeah I know but who knows how much
- 8:43that's going to cost to ship we'll see it can't be that much it's a [ __ ]
- 8:46piece of fabric yeah put it in an envelope and say it's a letter yeah it's
- 8:51a very dense letter recently um this company called big herk they released a
- 8:57new shoe uh toxic Crusaders oh yeah so remember the cartoons so they've done
- 9:02that it's a high top I purchased I loved it but they and they got caught with the
- 9:07whole shipping thing cuz shipping is now in crazy they were so nice that they
- 9:11went look so they did end up charging me more for shipping even though it was
- 9:15more AB the cost where the they absorbed the cost yeah right well recently
- 9:20they've now released apocalypse Inc so remember they were the bad guys in toxic
- 9:24Crusader oh [ __ ] vaguely so I need those shoes as well
- 9:29well and so I they sent me an email going look these are up we know shipping
- 9:34is crazy at the moment we're actually going to can't subsidize it anymore for
- 9:37you but we'll give you a discount code yeah right to try and help and which I
- 9:41thought was really nice and they gave me 25% off the shoe right and so it worked
- 9:45out the the shoe cost me uh $60 us
- 9:49shipping cost me $60 us Jesus that's how much shipping is at the moment but I
- 9:54have to say big shout out to Big herk for doing that especially wearing the
- 9:58cost the first time what are you saying big
- 10:00HK big HK b i g he rc.com okay that actually is what I thought you said so
- 10:07that's good yeah so yeah they make some really cool stuff so so you have toxic
- 10:13Crusader shoes then do you yes yeah i s a snap of those I'm pretty
- 10:17sure oh that's great that is great you should send a pick to my friend Lloyd I
- 10:23loved 9s where they started making cartoon series for kids based on R-rated
- 10:29adult movies yeah like that was not a
- 10:33show for kids no no I mean at all not a show for to be honest don't get me wrong
- 10:39I [ __ ] loved it when I was a kid but I wasn't meant to watch it but even when
- 10:43they did the cartoon series of Police Academy I'm like it's about a guy trying
- 10:46to get laid like does it have the gay nightclub in
- 10:53the children's cartoon series I bet it does con threat of gay rape the blue oyster
- 11:00that's the one but yeah I just thought I'd give them a shout out for I just a really
- 11:06great service Police Academy is probably
- 11:09what solely sped my love for accidental
- 11:14nudity in films right you know like there was just so many instances where
- 11:21like a guy was just completely naked yeah no no but like
- 11:26um humiliated by suddenly being naked in and when I
- 11:32was a kid I thought that was the funniest thing that could possi happen to
- 11:36someone yeah I actually started watching The Three Amigos for some God no I
- 11:42watch yeah really we all [ __ ] watch that that's so weird I love the movie
- 11:46but the audio on that is just so bad cuz it goes from talking but then when
- 11:50there's like a fight scene or music the volume just skyrockets finding it really annoying
- 11:56movies I think a lot of movies used to do that yeah no I think right I do there
- 12:00is definitely um you know times where i' have to ride the volume control to avoid
- 12:06scaring the [ __ ] out of my pets there's there's a fight scene coming up so you
- 12:10put it down then they start talking again and you can't hear them I I find
- 12:14on Netflix I do that a lot and I don't know whether that's just because of the
- 12:17compression they use on their videos or whether it's just the type of films I
- 12:20watch but basically on dialogue I'm on a certain volume level and then anytime
- 12:26it's anything else I AC see car chase just music I actually on more so on
- 12:33older ones and I think it's due to that experience of going to the movies right
- 12:38so that like you'll be watching talking but when the action scene comes up or
- 12:41something dramatic they Up the Volume so and it just makes you feel more in the
- 12:45movies if that makes sense yeah but it's
- 12:49just Luke making [ __ ] up no I'm I'm speaking of movies um I created myself a
- 12:55little Film Festival this week of movies
- 12:58about video games and uh so I we've we've we've been talking about Billy
- 13:05Mitchell every week for the last [ __ ]
- 13:08million years and uh and then Luke you mentioned last week that um you'd got a
- 13:14hold of of a documentary called Man versus snake yeah did you watch it I did watch
- 13:20it I did watch it and did you enjoy it I loved it I loved it and I the reason why
- 13:26I think I really like this one the guy it's about it's just a nice guy
- 13:29it's not yeah yeah yeah that's right so um no Billy Mitchell Oh Billy Mitchell's
- 13:35in there oh there he also he also tries to take credit for how he did it like he
- 13:41was giving him advice for just like stick with it to be fair to be fair it
- 13:45was Walter day trying to insert Billy Mitchell into every instance I I will
- 13:51watch any film show documentary Etc that has Walter day in it I find him
- 13:55absolutely F the Twin Galaxies guy right yeah it's the guy who started it's the
- 13:59guy on the logo of Twin Galaxies yeah and um and it's also if you look it's
- 14:04what makes it crazy is that W that he's in a cult yes he is he's in a
- 14:09transcendental meditational cult oh like DAV he and he's sort of one of the only
- 14:15ones that's sort of allowed to go out in public type of thing because of his
- 14:19stature yes and he apparently his status
- 14:24in the cult is reliant on him being in the media as well um so part of the
- 14:30reason that he keeps um kind of pushing himself and and
- 14:35pushing his kind of key uh Personnel like Billy Mitchell is because it also
- 14:42grants him status within this I wasn't going to but Luke's already said it
- 14:49so it also okay so so I watched man I've heard TD as a cult before because I know
- 14:55David Lynch is big on Transcendental Meditation so I got interested in
- 14:58everything I looked up was just like it's a cult it certainly certainly seems
- 15:02like a cult it certainly call it like I see it um so man versus snake is about
- 15:08Nibbler which uh it's the most basic game ever I think we we mentioned
- 15:13briefly last week it's basically snake and packman combined you're a snake
- 15:16you're in a maze you got to eat these little dots um and you keep getting
- 15:20bigger as you go faster and faster it's like in real life the way that the way
- 15:25that Nibbler works is that um whereas
- 15:29most games only had six digits of score this one had nine so you could get a
- 15:36billion right but the only way to get a
- 15:40billion was to play for 40 consecutive hours it was the only way to get that
- 15:46high score it's time based yeah so if you want to top out Nibbler to the
- 15:52billion you have to just keep playing it's yeah it's not actually time based
- 15:57like there's a timer for you to it's just that that's how
- 16:01long yeah just to get that points it takes that long to accumulate points and
- 16:06the only way you can do it because you would say I mean the first thing I
- 16:08thought of was like how do you go to the bathroom during that time right Nibbler
- 16:12you can um increase your lives by
- 16:18playing well so the only way to take a break is to increase the lives where
- 16:23you've got some to spare and then burn while you go away because if you leave
- 16:28there he'll just keep going around the screen around the edges getting longer
- 16:33getting faster and then eventually bite his own tail and it'll reset so you just
- 16:38you just have to burn lives that's funny mhm
- 16:43or just tape a little bag to your dick I thought about that too well I
- 16:48mean sorry a large bag I shouldn't have said a little bag for the security a
- 16:53large bag just a garbage bag tap to your
- 16:56dick and not just to your dick 40 hours oh yeah okay fair enough
- 17:03yeah and you can play longer if you want you can you can play longer so this um I
- 17:10I also watched another one another documentary this week that's worth
- 17:15mentioning too called the Ecstasy of order the tetris Masters um which is not
- 17:20a particularly well-made documentary it certainly doesn't have the kind of uh
- 17:25intensity of king of Kong or men versus um but it is quite good the most
- 17:32interesting things about it is learning about Tetris that you didn't know before
- 17:38the only way to what is it's not a get a high score on Tetris is to get to level
- 17:4329 right um and that's basically when they're dropping so fast you can't move
- 17:49them left or right you just literally don't have the time to move them left or
- 17:53right so they where they land so basically what you have to do is when
- 17:57you get to level 27 28 if if you're a a top player you have to just start
- 18:02stacking on either side and leave a gap down the middle so that when they start
- 18:08falling so fast that you just can't move them they're actually just falling in
- 18:12place and possibly even causing Tetris as they go up creating lines that's
- 18:16[ __ ] great I know yeah um and I watched a third one as well uh that I
- 18:23want to mention just briefly so man versus Snake look you watch the whole
- 18:27thing yet yes yeah so man versus snake
- 18:30is mostly about uh Tim McVey who got a high score when he was a
- 18:36kid um and Twin Galaxies put him up as
- 18:40the record holder on that uh but then it came out that some other little kid
- 18:46around the same time in Italy got an even higher score even earlier but twin
- 18:50Galaxy just didn't know about it and so technically he he hasn't had the record
- 18:55and so he wants to go back and and compete for it again and get it and
- 18:58competing against him is Dwayne Richard and if you've seen King versus Kong King
- 19:05King versus Kong if you've seen king of Kong you've seen Dwayne Richard as well
- 19:09he's the guy with the dreadlocks who uh also plays Kong and pman in those old
- 19:15games too um in fact he is on a one-man
- 19:21Crusade against Billy Mitchell right
- 19:24now Y and and he has apparently spent a I've read online that it cost him
- 19:30$70,000 of his own money to make his own little documentary which you can watch
- 19:35for free on YouTube and it's called Billy Mitchell the perfect fraud man um
- 19:41and it's it's close to three hours long so he does not hold back see the word
- 19:45fraud man fraud man yeah not frauder yeah yeah it's fraud man one word
- 19:51compound word this was the guy that was a bit of contention in King of Kong
- 19:54wasn't it when he he Dwayne gave him the console that he beat it on the first
- 20:00time and that's why they're questioning whether it was real because they didn't
- 20:03trust him yes and there's also uh a bit
- 20:07of contention when he he broke the Nibbler uh record as well when he was
- 20:14going against Tim McVey and the reason that they found out was because he they
- 20:18played on cabinets supplied by Twin Galaxies but they brought their own
- 20:23board right yep um and and his [ __ ] up
- 20:28during the during the competition and he had to withdraw because it froze he then
- 20:33went home and took a video of himself playing it again and and broke the
- 20:38record but then uh people on the
- 20:40internet stacked it against uh videos of
- 20:45other people and found out that his uh in between games his load screens were
- 20:50loading at Double the speed of anyone else's when you stack them side by side
- 20:55and uh they realized that he had tampered with his board
- 20:59um in such a way that speeds up your your load screen so he he withdrew to
- 21:04his actually just speeding up the load times does make a huge difference
- 21:07because it means that instead of having to do it for 40 hours it could go down
- 21:10to 35 you're getting that advantage that way it's a huge advantage to having five
- 21:15hours less when you're sitting in your own feces so much drama for such a weird
- 21:22little he withdrew he he withdrew to his credit he withdrew his his record he
- 21:27called Twin Galaxies and take me down uh apparently apparently my board is is
- 21:32faulty but I mean it certainly seems like his faulty it loads fast yeah it's
- 21:38faulty it's really helping me win um which makes it I mean if I had been
- 21:44accused of cheating and was still kind of known in various circles as being a
- 21:48little bit of a cheat I probably wouldn't be going after Billy Mitchell
- 21:54so hard yeah for cheating I would want to stay out of theine [ __ ] out of it
- 22:00yeah yeah cuz I don't know they really don't like each other it's like a bad
- 22:04breakup or something happened also I I mean just from seeing king of Kong and
- 22:08some of the other ancillary things these people just like the attention I don't
- 22:13know if it's even about any any of the actual you know like Integrity of you
- 22:19know arcade game scores or anything like that they just want to be the one who's
- 22:22getting the attention kind of thing well look I mean cuz it's not like there's
- 22:25money or anything behind this no it might be a bit Billy Mitchell's already
- 22:30been uh given the gamer of the
- 22:34century award uh by Nintendo which was a madeup award just to uh just to give to
- 22:40him I've also found out that to shut him up Billy Mitchell is
- 22:45actually uh basically personally funds
- 22:50uh Twin Galaxies did you know that yeah no I didn't that's funny which is why
- 22:55you know in you know in King of Kong when uh when he sends in his tape of
- 23:00himself playing Kong and uh you've got
- 23:05Walter day going yeah it seems a bit dodgy I mean the score changes uh you
- 23:11know a bit glitchy and all this stuff but but then he just goes through and
- 23:15puts it through anyway immediately he's like yeah yeah okay fair enough yeah you
- 23:19don't even hear what Billy says but he goes all right then yeah yeah I think
- 23:23what he said was I fund you entire yeah
- 23:29do you do you want to have a job Walter yeah um so I I think I think a big part
- 23:34of it is you know when the world stops being on fire can we go to Twin Galaxies
- 23:39together I'd love to go to Twin Galaxies where where is Twin
- 23:42Galaxies actually it's not too far from you Mt it's in hold on let's find out I
- 23:48thought it was in the middle part of America I think it's like Midwest uh
- 23:53Twin Galaxies AR twin Galaxy arcade it is I think it's like North
- 23:57Carolina or somewhere right oh that's not far well it is but it isn't it isn't
- 24:02I Iowa Iowa is it okay that's yeah that's the middle right that's yeah
- 24:08that's that's a that's a drive I think that's probably like 12ish hours let me
- 24:13check I might make it which which arcade did they have the Donkey Kong
- 24:18championship in with Steve weeby uh Funland fun something might have been
- 24:24fun land Fun Spot Fun Spot that one's closer to you I I think
- 24:29right let have a okay so yeah but to take 20 hours to get Iowa from here so
- 24:36more think I I really want to go to Twin Galaxy CU that's is sort of ohun New
- 24:40Hampshire yeah we can do that easy yeah I mean look we could do
- 24:46it yeah we go to Iowa if there still Iowa and New Hampshire there might not
- 24:51be an America mat cuz you guys are going to burn it down I guess yeah that's true
- 24:57I guess that's your aim just looking at the news I I can only assume trying to
- 25:01have it implode on itself I think I think we're just trying to infect each
- 25:04other that seems to be what's going on at the moment I'm not quite sure I
- 25:07understand but infect each other with Corona virus with
- 25:12racism culture y yeah it's all
- 25:16spreading speaking of uh wokeness Matt can you explain to me please why the
- 25:22okay hand signal has been removed from Call of Duty this one's weird right cuz
- 25:28I I I mean on the one hand I'm like fine if it's being used as they say that's
- 25:34fine but I'm just so confused about this whole thing so at some point the okay
- 25:38hand sign signal like I think everybody probably knows what I mean by that you
- 25:42know you just put your put your finger in your thumb together and you go like
- 25:45this you can't see what I'm doing listeners but I'm doing what I describe
- 25:49you know what you know what I mean it's it's that and it's also that thing where
- 25:53you know there used to be that game where you would put your fingers like
- 25:55that and if someone looked at them you got to punch them you play that stupid G
- 25:59oh yeah I never played it but I know of it whatever that was called I've been
- 26:02punched that symbol has been associated
- 26:06with white supremacy some do we know how
- 26:10what way why this article say says like I said I'm not quite sure but this
- 26:15article indicates it came from um
- 26:18forchan at some point and it was a joke I I think so my understanding is and I
- 26:25could be wrong please let me know if I'm wrong I think someone started it as a
- 26:28joke saying people are doing that and it's to Signal they're white
- 26:32supremacists I think cuz Trump does it a lot they might be white oh okay like
- 26:37maybe it was I I don't know but they're
- 26:41saying now because it was a joke and
- 26:44everybody knows about the joke now white supremacists can do it and say I was
- 26:51just joking and so you can't do it anymore you're not allowed to do it
- 26:54anymore and I'm like that's so [ __ ] weird okay but if if I'm a diver now and
- 27:01someone like gets my attention to see if I'm okay I can't give him the I'm okay
- 27:05signal no no cuz you know I mean they got a mask on me and there could be any
- 27:09you know who they are I believe that in
- 27:13Europe uh the okay single single the
- 27:17okay symbol with your hand is what you kind of hold up in a bar if you're
- 27:23trying to let other guys know that you're you're up for a bit of gay sex
- 27:30well that may be the case I don't know but all I know is maybe it's only why
- 27:35who are up for a bit of gay sex in this country you can't do it anymore right so
- 27:40the Naz ziky salute was getting a bit too on the nose was it and now they've
- 27:45just I think that's the thing is that I mean that is a little obvious so I think
- 27:49like I said the article says this started as a joke people saying oh when
- 27:53someone does the okay symbol that means they're a white supremacist but then
- 27:56everybody learned about the joke and and then now the racists are like oh that
- 28:00means we can do it and then now no one can do it that's interesting and
- 28:05actually that's probably my favorite thing about cancel culture if there's
- 28:09anything we don't like all we have to do is tie it into
- 28:13racism yeah and it'll just get canceled is there something we don't like anymore
- 28:17and we can just spread it around on forchan saying this is what we do in the
- 28:21white supremacist community and pretty soon it'll be
- 28:24cancelled cancel culture let's do do it for that yeah I mean look to be honest I don't
- 28:31care I'm happy to not make that symbol anymore if people don't want me to I
- 28:34just find the whole thing very strange that that that's how we got to this
- 28:38place cuz I mean yeah I I still don't understand why it's considered that oh I
- 28:43think did see it's cuz the W is like when you do it so you got three fingers
- 28:47up like The W and then the O is like the O for power okay that's what so the W
- 28:53into but o for power that's how I learned the alphabet for yeah
- 29:00Whiskey Tango I guess the O is for oh my God white it
- 29:05[Laughter] great anyway yeah just so they removing
- 29:11it from Call of Duty I think that's the hand I think
- 29:15that's the position your hand is in when you're holding a tiki torch at a white
- 29:18supremacist rally yeah yeah it's
- 29:24weird but I mean I guess this means they can ruin also of fun things now so that's a
- 29:31shame yeah I I still don't they don't even have to do it racists don't even
- 29:35have to be doing it someone just has to say racist are doing it and then we can't do it
- 29:39anymore [ __ ] weird the first time I've heard that might might be like
- 29:45linked with racism was the fact that yeah they've removed it from Call of
- 29:48Duty that's the first time I've heard it it's not like something you know like in
- 29:51passing or anything like that or no I guess I knew about it but then maybe
- 29:54that's cuz I'm in the US so I've seen this garbage over the [ __ ] news are
- 29:59there any people of color in Call of Duty yeah then maybe people were doing I
- 30:06mean no I don't think it's related to Call of Duty at all other than the game
- 30:10features it and then maybe somebody said oh you got a white supremacist symbol in
- 30:14there and they went you know what let's just get it out of there and they have
- 30:17to worry about this [ __ ] that's I'm sure that's Fu to the fire because I I agree
- 30:22with you Luke I think yesterday this didn't mean that and maybe some nerds on
- 30:25the internet were talking about it but the point does I think I think that what
- 30:30you're describing is correct but that happened before they removed it from
- 30:34Call of Duty and the reason they removed to Call of Duty is because that had already
- 30:39happened so but yeah my question is how
- 30:44do we let that happen it's so bizarre or it be like you know you got
- 30:49an earring in the wrong ear and when we were kids you know that meant that meant
- 30:52you were gay so the way to combat that just get it in both ears yeah and the
- 30:57ear that you weren't supposed to have it in it changed cuz that was the whole
- 31:01point was that it wasn't a real thing it was a joke it was just so that you could
- 31:04call people gay like yeah it's not a real thing it was a [ __ ] stupid thing
- 31:10anyway now I get everything pierced everything everything are you
- 31:17right or left
- 31:20forkin trick question
- 31:24oh my for skin is long gone
- 31:29I thought he was just I am long the the well the guy go the guy
- 31:36that claims to have the largest dick in the world that is basically what his
- 31:39dick is he Fork have you heard about this the guy who think he has the
- 31:42largest dick in the world he well he weighs his dick down so he puts weight
- 31:48on it and it's caused his for skin to stretch into some terrible looking thing
- 31:54just have it wrapped in bandages all the time and oh God there is a subculture out there
- 32:01of men who are trying to regain their forkin yeah I've seen that on
- 32:06penella they have like a device which one out of pen and tell is trying to
- 32:11rec they did an episode on it and it was about how you know because apparently
- 32:17culturally here in the US I don't know how it is these days but
- 32:21it's that you very heavily socially pressured into to doing it and so they
- 32:25did an episode on whether you need to [ __ ] worry about getting your kids
- 32:30circumcised and whether you you know whether you should be doing it whether
- 32:32it's morally let me guess at the end of the episode penella decided doesn't
- 32:36[ __ ] matter now they decided that you probably shouldn't do it cuz right let
- 32:41the kid [ __ ] decide yeah like really like who are you to modify the kid's
- 32:45body before it can consent I think that's where they fell down on it but
- 32:49but yes they had that a guy on there who demonstrated this this device that he
- 32:53has that he stretches it over and kind of clamps it on there and he wears that
- 32:57throughout the day to to restore it Jesus in the
- 33:03Philippines you don't do it at Birth you do it at age 13 and it is voluntary but
- 33:10you are socially pressured into doing it if you drive if you drive around the
- 33:14city in Manila St you'll see kids no you'll see Billboards you'll
- 33:21see Billboards that are like time to become a man oh I mean you know I'm I'm
- 33:25I'm I'm fine with having had it done I'm glad it was done when I was you know
- 33:29before I could form memories form an attachment to be honest
- 33:34I would have liked to have been asked so I tend to side with pen and tell that
- 33:38you shouldn't generally mutilate your children uh let them own genal if they
- 33:44want later life the common reasons given for why you would want it done and most
- 33:47of them were fairly you know I think the main reason is even uh religious or for
- 33:54any other Reas other than that's what I have so that's what I'm going to do to
- 33:58my kid that that's actually that's the actual reason I think these days mostly
- 34:01it's you just think you're supposed to they want yeah yeah that's they're
- 34:06worried that they will be judged if they don't have it done and so they'll do it
- 34:10I think that's yeah man I don't even know if it goes that far I think it's
- 34:14just like well I want his to look like mine Andrew Roy
- 34:19style if I'm going to have to look at this Baby's dick I want it to look
- 34:23familiar I don't want I don't want it being marginally bigger than mine
- 34:28I don't want my son to be able to stretch his dick out like that weirdo on the
- 34:32internet because it's not like people going to look down on you if you don't
- 34:36get your child circumstances down why are you showing like it's cuz to me I know I'm
- 34:42not a parent but I assume you just don't walk around showing your baby's dick to
- 34:46people are you look none of us none of us are parents but this is something we should
- 34:51probably figure out before not qualified any of yeah exactly I'll Google that
- 34:56before I do it just now that it's been brought up if you're
- 34:59a parent right in are we meant to be
- 35:01going around kids dick take a look at
- 35:07this should I have gotten this bit cut
- 35:13off the uh the name of the film you mentioned the Ecstasy of order uh
- 35:19Segways nicely into someone I'd like to nominate for Geek of the
- 35:23week and that is the composer of the Ecstasy of Gold
- 35:28an maricone he has passed away this week at the age of freaking like 80 something
- 35:34he must be getting on yeah 91 there you
- 35:38go all right at the age of 91 so he had a good run uh and he uh he composed
- 35:45[ __ ] shitloads of Music a lot yeah are you familiar with him
- 35:50Luke um I'm looking through IMDb now to see if there's anything he's done that I
- 35:54have seen okay let me tell you are you familiar with
- 36:01this you ever heard that
- 36:04before I think I have you say more to
- 36:14[Music]
- 36:20it no no I know it but where do I know
- 36:23it from The Good the Bad and the Ugly H I've just found something that I he
- 36:30did that I I liked so yes he gets geek a week red Sonia oh sure all right I
- 36:37wouldn't have thought to suggest that but all right good I think the last film
- 36:41he did may have been the hateful eight is that true scroll back to the top he's done
- 36:46519 things his last one was on the
- 36:50road uh no they of yeah you're right still
- 36:57going that's [ __ ] amazing yeah I mean arguably responsible for the modern film
- 37:03score the way that films are scored cuz he did all those spaghetti westons and
- 37:07everyone was like that's [ __ ] awesome and it just changed the way that they
- 37:09did in Hollywood to to suit so uh the thing he did the score for the thing
- 37:16that's another one for you Luke yep uh one of my favorite film composers
- 37:20fantastic and he will be missed did wasn't Co was it I don't know I don't
- 37:27think so makes it worse if it was in a way I [ __ ] I would dislike that I
- 37:31don't think so I think uh oh no no he he uh he
- 37:37fell uh fractured a femur and then uh he
- 37:42died at a hospital oh [ __ ] did he fall from that block that the conductor stands on
- 37:48to conduct the orch you know what I don't think it's he fell down to the pit
- 37:53it doesn't say but that would be I mean if I was him I guess that would be how
- 37:57I'd want to go doing what I loved uh I
- 38:01love this though uh he's lawyer distribut a statement that he wrote
- 38:07himself from hospital that said I any morone am
- 38:13dead [ __ ] can't beat that at what point did he write that I assume in his
- 38:19last moments I imagine but like that's amazing
- 38:24wow that's like Shing is an moricone you
- 38:30know sure yeah as soon as he slipped he was both dead and
- 38:36alive Jesus he wrote his first Academy Award was for the hateful a that's
- 38:43amazing that's uh that's like it's a long time coming probably an honorary
- 38:49thing at that stage right I don't necessarily remember that being his best
- 38:53no it's it's catchy the main theme is catchy but it's not do you remember I
- 38:58should watch that the easy of gold
- 39:01so I uh which one is the Ecstasy of Gold uh it's the one Metallica used to
- 39:08use it before they came out on
- 39:11stage yeah that is great that one it's [ __ ]
- 39:18tox uh one of the things he did was two girls one cup the
- 39:24show I no idea what that is all right maybe he was a bit I mean
- 39:31maybe he was a hard for work at some point this has no you know what M make
- 39:35this better it's like a [ __ ] [Laughter]
- 39:40[Music] hardore well that's I think that's why he's so prolific I think every time he
- 39:46whistles somebody records it and there's a score yeah well they do feature
- 39:51whistling a lot fistful dolls has a
- 39:54whistling Motif as well what love about
- 39:58the that main leite Motif in uh Good the
- 40:02Bad and the Ugly is that he play it's it's the the
- 40:07actual uh Melody is quite short and very
- 40:12simple but yes they played on so many different instruments yeah to connote
- 40:18different things different characters what's going on it'll just it'll be a
- 40:22whistle and it'll be just a nice little quip but then it'll be on this like
- 40:26dirty electric guitar that's down tuned yeah um but it always reminds you of
- 40:32what it is yeah it's very emotive yeah a
- 40:38great well I'm glad you've approved it because I was going to argue with you if you didn't
- 40:43so yeah not enough nerdy films until he saw red Sonia he did not commit suicide
- 40:49or did he no I don't think so 91 he was just [ __ ] take me
- 40:56sweet he had [ __ ] shows lined up he
- 41:00was still going like cuz I I was like um whistling I was like I wonder if I could
- 41:05go because now that he's he's passed although with Co it's difficult but I
- 41:08was like I wonder if someone would if they would do like a you know the music
- 41:11of any Marone kind of show because I would love to go to that so I kind of
- 41:14Googled and he had shows lined up for later in the year
- 41:18so yeah I don't know how people could do that like he's 91 still going I'm hoping to make
- 41:2460 and still be a little bit active
- 41:29yeah in what way is you
- 41:32active yeah oh he's he's he's fairly
- 41:36prolific actor aren't you oh that's true he's uh he's known for his true
- 41:43achievements achievements yep I love my achievements did you Mage achievements
- 41:49the other day by the way look did I what sorry did you get my message on true
- 41:55achievements no I did didn't sent you a
- 42:00message you looking at my score not your inbox or I've sent a message to the
- 42:06wrong person which will be embarrassing for me uh based on what I sent you've
- 42:09sent it to Duke Al oh you're coming for me oh that would be
- 42:16awkward if it was just person coming for
- 42:22you so you joined Australian comedy finally joined I did I joined and then
- 42:27promptly forgot about it until just it's really good if you
- 42:31get stuck they have a lot of guides on there and that's where I get most of my news
- 42:35from very good I'd like to talk TV and I want to ask you a question Matt about
- 42:41something that you've started watching but if I may just before I segue to that
- 42:44I just want to tell you about a TV show that I think I'm officially done
- 42:49with go on I've stopped watching Dark oh You'
- 42:54stopped is it just it's because you couldn't quite catch up or work out what
- 42:59was happening on from the last season going that's always yeah I look you know
- 43:03when you watch a mystery and you're like oh I wonder what what what is at the
- 43:08heart of this mystery and then as the more characters they add in and the more
- 43:12ridiculous plot at a certain point you go there isn't anything in the middle of
- 43:16this it's just going to be like lost yeah it's lost it's lost itself for
- 43:22sure um there are now timelines stacked on timeline
- 43:28god um there's characters from every point in their lives and that was always
- 43:32there but it was always poent and now
- 43:36it's just a cacophony of plot and uh I think what they should do to show the
- 43:43different timelines to help keep track they should give each each timeline like
- 43:46its own tinge of color so if they're like in their present it's like a it's
- 43:50like a very just a light green you can see if there that's good point except
- 43:56that now they've all converged and there's people from all of these
- 44:00different times and different alternate timelines all coexisting now trying to
- 44:06[ __ ] have a cohesive story that I meant to follow and enjoy uh and I real
- 44:11just is far too conf I realized at a certain point I just wasn't enjoying it
- 44:15so I've turned it off so not enjoying things has led me to ask Matt uh what
- 44:20you gener of think of the
- 44:24alienist uh on theme we did not enjoy the alienist and we stopped watching it
- 44:31um you probably did the right thing because when I recommended it to you I'd
- 44:35only watched an episode or two and I still holding out hope that it was going
- 44:39to continue being it's odd it's
- 44:43odd yeah like it's got a lot to like about it but then it's also got a lot to
- 44:50dislike and I just don't know how to feel about it like it's beautiful and
- 44:56it's like the tone and the the tone is not quite the right word because I think the tone
- 45:02is the the weird part cuz it flip-flops I know exactly what you mean by that
- 45:06yeah and and some of the performances I'm like is that the only take they got
- 45:10yeah like that's the take of that that they put in this show like Jesus and
- 45:17then season two starts this week season one ended with what can only be
- 45:22described as a de smer it's not a spoiler because someone just made
- 45:27something up and all the characters went along with it you know what I mean um it
- 45:32was it was a very disappointing end to what was meant to be a mystery yeah but
- 45:38I agree with you about tone Matt because like you'll have something that's quite
- 45:43deep very dark yeah and then the dialogue that discusses those things
- 45:48feels like it'll be written for children and you're like what am I watching yeah
- 45:53perhaps one of the children that was brutally murdered and had their eyeballs
- 45:55ripped out in the scene PRI to that like and then and then it's just like all
- 45:59goofy like so weird yeah I mean obviously it's working for
- 46:05some people because it's it's been quite popular and they got a second
- 46:08season but I just couldn't get into it to me it's just a bit too TV it's a bit
- 46:12too free to Air Telly um yeah I it just needs to be a little bit more HBO and it
- 46:17goes there from time to time but it just doesn't stay there it's inconsistent and
- 46:20so as you say Matt with the love story you know you'll have a goofy romance
- 46:24love triangle and you'll be like oh we're doing wacky [ __ ] and we're in love
- 46:28and then it's like now she's [ __ ] dead yeah you be like oh [ __ ] okay and
- 46:34like Luke Evans is like oh I'm bumbling I'm bumbling I'm bumbling oh now I'm
- 46:37trapped in a in a brothel with like a bunch of lady boys and it's it's like
- 46:42what is going on yeah like also I don't understand I'm no historian but were
- 46:47there that many lady boys in New York City at the turn of the century cuz
- 46:51there are I'm happy to ignore that not ignore that like that's fine it's just
- 46:55that the tone of it is just so strange like yeah I love it I love it though
- 47:01when there's that inevitable moment like halfway through the series where like
- 47:06they're trying to track down this lady boy killer and he just turns to his
- 47:09little his little stable boy and he's like well the only way to solve this
- 47:13you're going to have to put on a dress and go and get [ __ ] by strange
- 47:16men so weird and that kid that kid must have been waiting the entire time for
- 47:21just being like [ __ ] please don't think of it please don't think of this
- 47:24idea just don't even look at me while going toink away every time they start
- 47:30talking about it he just turns around backs out of the room yeah it's just so odd because
- 47:36they're all good actors and actresses in things but in this Matt did you watch
- 47:43the nick no okay watch that same setting but
- 47:48with a consistent tone okay I guarantee you'll love the Nick except they're not
- 47:54detectives or you know psych detectives I don't they're not alienists they're
- 48:00surgeons and this is kind of undertone of dramatic irony where the cutting age
- 48:06in surgery at the turn of the century is stuff that you just would know as a
- 48:11child in the 20th century not to do sure I like yeah watching even
- 48:17watching um modern crime shows where it's even you know like the Golden State killer
- 48:22for example wasn't worried about DNA cuz he didn't know what the [ __ ] it was so
- 48:26mhm yeah goes to show yeah doesn't matter if you're thinking of of crime
- 48:32you can't think you can't even think of everything yeah exactly you're not you
- 48:35don't even know you got think of things that got yeah that won't be invented yet
- 48:39yeah not worth it mate trust me I watched something else that we had
- 48:45talked about oh yeah uh that click there so you know what it is um that that Dan
- 48:50you had said maybe it would be worth me giving it to rewatch uh that is a film
- 48:55by the name of interstellar oh oh I re-watched Interstellar this week and I
- 49:01was watching it and I was like this is [ __ ] so good was I
- 49:07wrong and then and you know spoilers then honestly
- 49:14this is the bit this is the it's not even the none of the science stuff I'm
- 49:19fine with all that there's literally the the bit where she's in the bedroom when
- 49:23she's all grown up and she's Jessica Chastain now mhm and she goes goes oh it
- 49:27was my dad the whole time it was my dad that that just that I was
- 49:32like yeah there's no reason she would have figured that
- 49:35out and it would have been so easy to give her one mhm like he goes he's in
- 49:42there in and he's doing stuff and then he goes oh I know I'll just say it's me
- 49:46Dad it's me it's your dad yeah but that never happens and then it was just I was
- 49:50just that just bugs me so yeah [ __ ] fantastic film but then the ending just
- 49:56made me go ah mhm yeah because I I rewatched it and
- 50:01and I tried not to be hard on it and for that reason I really really enjoyed it
- 50:05and I was like you m I was like watching it going oh no no this is good I'm I'm
- 50:09I'm into this it's [ __ ] fantastic uh like most of it is
- 50:13fantastic yeah there it's just a couple of character motivations that let it
- 50:17down I think an Hathaway's character motivations let it down to a point but
- 50:22then again you could just argue that she's a flawed character and that
- 50:25they're all just kind of part of her you know General [ __ ] up atness um but
- 50:30then for me it wasn't even the fact that she figures it out it was the fact that
- 50:35at some point around that time she just suddenly decided it was important to
- 50:39figure it out when she just that's what I mean with no interest in getting to
- 50:44know who exactly and the only reason it's then is because it's like it feels
- 50:48like it should be then because it's being intercut with him in you know
- 50:52going having gone through the like he's in the tesara so it feels like oh
- 50:55they're in at the same time but that's not true because he's outside of time
- 50:58like she could have [ __ ] figured this out at any point yes especially since
- 51:02that scene is actually very never figured it out you know like her her
- 51:06she's Set Fire to the cane fields and they're burning and her brother's out
- 51:11there put put out the fire and they know they've only got that amount of time
- 51:15before he gets back and catches them in the house it's it's very thrilling but
- 51:20the motivation for her even being there is bewildering cuz you're like we just
- 51:24go and come back another time you know
- 51:28like has infinite time to send this message to her so I don't know it's just
- 51:33just that aspect of it when I think about it it kind of falls apart and
- 51:36that's exactly how I felt after the first time I watched it except this time
- 51:40I didn't forget that the everything lead up there was [ __ ] amazing I like the
- 51:45first time I saw it that bugged me so much that I just forgot about how good
- 51:48the rest of it was so so I'm glad I rewatched it and I like I love it it's
- 51:54fantastic I it has made me rethink my opinion on it it's just that one bit
- 51:58still bugs me it just didn't ruin it for me this time like it did the first time
- 52:02would you recommend it to Luke have you not seen it Luke no I have not the other
- 52:07thing about it and this is not uh a criticism as such uh and it actually
- 52:12leads me to another Christopher Nolan film that I started to watch uh with
- 52:17Interstellar a lot of stuff is said once
- 52:22very quickly and if you didn't catch it you would have no [ __ ] idea what was
- 52:26going on sometimes like there's a lot in this film and sometimes things like
- 52:31sciency things they go oh that's you know the you you know because of
- 52:35Relativity we go down to the planet that's actually not a really good
- 52:38example because they do show that quite well but there's other sciency things
- 52:42that if you were like wait why did that happen if you didn't catch one line of
- 52:47dialogue you wouldn't you wouldn't know and then it got me thinking about I
- 52:52tried to watch Dunkirk a few weeks ago for the first
- 52:58time for the first time yeah I'd never seen it um and I had trouble with it for
- 53:04for a few reasons cuz it's kind of odd as a film cuz it's not traditional film
- 53:10I think fair to say MH like it's kind of more a this is what happened and it's
- 53:16not particularly about anyone in particular or like do you know what I'm
- 53:20trying to say absolutely yeah and I also had trouble with Dunkirk because
- 53:25literally every body looks the [ __ ] same in it and I like like there's like
- 53:3010 soldiers in there and I know I'm like one of those guys I've been watching for
- 53:3420 minutes but I can't tell which one it is anymore they all hair same clothes
- 53:38same haircut just white bunch of white guys in the literally the same clothes
- 53:41with literally the same haircut I can't tell them apart so I don't even know who
- 53:45I'm supposed to care about the other thing was and and I'm sure they told you
- 53:48at the start but I missed it somehow or I misunderstood it but I didn't realize
- 53:54that of the three stories that the were being told in the same movie time one
- 54:01takes place over the course of a day one takes place over the course of an hour
- 54:04and one takes place over the course of five minutes and oh see I didn't the
- 54:10yeah neither did I but they're stretched out so that they occupy the same amount
- 54:14of time in front of your eyeballs while you're watching yeah I see what you're
- 54:18saying so it's another time again well here's the other problem with that is
- 54:23that I didn't finish dun cook not because I wasn't I would have kept
- 54:26watching it except I paused it to go and do something it Plex that I
- 54:32was Plex that I was watching it in like [ __ ] itself and it I cannot get it to
- 54:38restart from where I was at yeah and I was just like you know what you're not
- 54:41going to find it too much whatever whatever I'll watch it another time look
- 54:45it's definitely not his best um for all the reasons you mentioned I think it is
- 54:49worth watching to the end I I would like to like I said Interstellar reminded me
- 54:53I was like oh [ __ ] I never finished dun but I guess it's not a good sign that I
- 54:57forgot you know
- 55:01so he's like one of my favorite filmmakers like no question yeah so
- 55:07absolutely I want to give it another shot and so that like I said wasn't even
- 55:11didn't even dislike it just had some trouble with it and then couldn't get it
- 55:15to work again and forgot it existed you weren't entertained enough to actually
- 55:19yeah go back it's not really entertaining look the the thing is about Nolan though
- 55:25is I I think my favorite Nolan film is
- 55:28still momento probably sure um because everything you need to know about the
- 55:35film is in the film and it's confusing it's like a puzzle but but it's but it's
- 55:40all there it doesn't really liely on you knowing other gimmicky things like one
- 55:46story takes place in an hour one in a week and one in a day you know what I
- 55:49mean like it's sure yeah yeah um as some of his other ones did I'm really looking
- 55:55forward to seeing what he does next but the most disappointing thing for me is
- 55:58not that it's been pushed back so I won't get to see it but it's that
- 56:03there's far too much time for hype to build and far too much time for people
- 56:07to start trying to guess what it's about and you know they keep releasing new
- 56:11trailers and and new TV spots and stuff I was like I don't want to say it just
- 56:15show me the [ __ ] movie before I start thinking about it too much yeah think
- 56:19that happens with a lot like that you get an announcement or something and
- 56:22then they keep hyping it up for years but it's I like the idea of they
- 56:25announce it and it'll be out next week yeah but him like he's like begging them
- 56:31basically hold on hold on to it and put it out in cinemas don't [ __ ] release
- 56:35this on streaming and this is one case where I know that there are some You
- 56:39could argue that that's like a like a money thing but I think with him like
- 56:43I'm assuming tenet like most of his other recent films was shot on some [ __ ]
- 56:48IMAX you know 100 m film or something like that and it would literally hurt
- 56:53him for people to not experience it the way that he wanted like with um you know
- 56:58those scenes in the dark KN that he shot on IMAX and then I think he's done it
- 57:02ever since then I say I felt it a bit dist distracting I was about to say
- 57:07disturbing distracting in interstellar where it kept switching ratios at the
- 57:11cinema I think that works but on home video it's just it's weird yeah cuz you're like
- 57:18what looks like a mistake it just looks like it draws attention to the craft
- 57:21which is not supposed to do yeah that and um I think like in the case of
- 57:27someone like him and someone like quent Tarantino you know he got pissed off
- 57:29about Star Wars booting him from the cinema like again I don't think those
- 57:33two guys I would give like that's they're upset artistically yeah I agree
- 57:39um like I know he's getting a lot of flack for this tenant thing because of
- 57:42Co but I like I said I think it really just is it would upset him for people
- 57:47not to see it in a theater I agree and those two examples that you've just used
- 57:51are two guys who also refuse to shoot digitally as well so they're like no
- 57:55I've shot film this needs to be projected yeah like they're they're
- 58:00wankers but we love them for it I I want to put out a film to you both to watch
- 58:07and I I'm going to watch this again too um it's Ad Astra that came out last year
- 58:12oh yeah yeah yeah this was another one where there was times where I was
- 58:16watching this guy this is the greatest movie I've ever seen and times where I
- 58:22was like why is this happening like and and I'm interested to hear your opinions
- 58:28on that too and I want to see if those things that bothered me the first time
- 58:32around bother me for a second time around basically if if you took 2001 of
- 58:37Space Odyssey and Apocalypse Now two of my favorite films and made them [ __ ]
- 58:43this would be their baby right all right yeah it's Brad Pit right
- 58:50I know I've seen it I've just and and actually every time I see it I'm like oh
- 58:53I should watch that and then I never you know what I watched I don't know if I
- 58:55mentioned this I finally watched uh on a flight this is couple years back now
- 59:01probably I don't don't know if I've mentioned it I watched it on a flight to
- 59:04uh to England I watched Oblivion oh yeah like Oblivion by was
- 59:11that it's the guy who did um Tron legacy right Tom Tom Cruz lives in a spiral
- 59:17house on a planet yeah that was a really good movie yeah it was good like it was
- 59:21not didn't blow my mind or anything but it was really solid sci-fi I'm surprised
- 59:25it got I seem to remember it being [ __ ] on a lot I thought it was really good I
- 59:29think it came out too close to his other
- 59:32sci-fi movie oh yeah which was excellent and it kind of overshadowed it yeah I
- 59:38watched that again recently I I really love that movie I really really
- 59:43appreciate that I keep meaning to go see that but I haven't I don't know why I
- 59:46haven't seen that see that Luke ignore all the other films we've told you to
- 59:49watch and watch that oh repeat tagine yeah yeah that's the
- 59:55one remember the name of it um do you know what's on at theaters here right
- 1:00:00now cuz they're trying to get people in there Raiders of the last AR Empire okay
- 1:00:04and Empire Strikes Back yeah yeah like all sorts of good shits on the movies
- 1:00:07right now I heard they're re-releasing Bill and Ted in some theaters in America
- 1:00:10to get people man I mean it's not really
- 1:00:15a I mean that might be fun to see with other people but it's not one that I
- 1:00:19would like I just wish seen Bill and Ted on the big screen like it was intended
- 1:00:22and I also I'm not even uh you know I'm not even all that tempted to go back and
- 1:00:28stream it or download it you know I'm I'm scared to go to a [ __ ] movie
- 1:00:32theater to be honest the way things are I I I honestly don't see the big thing
- 1:00:37about going to the movies anymore no it doesn't need to be a thing no I agree I
- 1:00:42know that's going to upset those directors
- 1:00:46but yeah my screen's fine now I don't have people talking around their
- 1:00:53phones yeah still don't understand what people do but then I'm also very
- 1:00:57impatient so I may go see Bill anded in the movies I would love to see Bill and T
- 1:01:04the movies but I just don't know we'll see well I'm talking about the new one
- 1:01:08no no no I know um we have to see how things are by
- 1:01:13then they shut everything down agains six weeks see I don't
- 1:01:19know yeah I tell you I'm not going to the movie six weeks for now although see
- 1:01:23I say that but like if tenet comes out out I'm going to have to go and see it yeah you're
- 1:01:29right I'm going to have to gauge you
- 1:01:33doing so what's that James Bond no time to die there's no way I'm going to not
- 1:01:39see that on the weekend it comes out they're handling things pretty well
- 1:01:44here in RH Island so maybe maybe that maybe it's possible I I only thing is you like you
- 1:01:50have to book your seats they'll keep you separated from people they're staggering
- 1:01:53so might be okay probably better than usual to be honest
- 1:01:58yeah yeah I'm enjoying this kind of restaurants with uh no one at the table
- 1:02:03next to you yeah although we went to we were in Connecticut on the weekend and I
- 1:02:08guess like you know states are so different here and uh we I called a head
- 1:02:13to this restaurant that we just found one near where we were and I was like oh
- 1:02:16you know you got outside seats available and they're like yeah yeah yeah and I
- 1:02:20was like oh okay you need to give you your name or anything they're like no no
- 1:02:22no like oh all right isn't that a big thing there that you so we got there and
- 1:02:27it was just like it like as if there was no pandemic like it it was super weird
- 1:02:31and so we didn't go cuz I was like that's [ __ ] weird
- 1:02:35like I don't know not worth the risk yeah you got May I'm wrong seriously but
- 1:02:42no it's not not worth the risk if you get this it can kill you so seemed weird
- 1:02:46I guess they're not enforcing it there because here in Rodland you can't do
- 1:02:48that you got to book a table you got to be like X distance apart and all this
- 1:02:52kind of stuff I was just expected it was like that everywhere but apparently not
- 1:02:55no we we did have that like you had to put your a name in contact just in case
- 1:02:59something went through but they've they've now that's not in place anymore cuz
- 1:03:04we're into phase three yeah right of but I think we're going back up cuz there
- 1:03:09start to be hot spots yeah I'm pretty sure we you know where the the chances of
- 1:03:15catching a deadly virus are dangerously High I'm spreading diseases around in in
- 1:03:22the AL party yeah if you what the after
