- 0:00Speaker 1: Tampa Bay's Best Music is made.
- 0:04Speaker 2: Nine and welcome to another episode of Scottie an Abby Unfiltered.
- 0:08Speaker 2: And I don't mean to bring this up again, but
- 0:11Speaker 2: I will say we walked into the studio Togain and
- 0:13Speaker 2: we kind of talked about.
- 0:14Speaker 1: It on the show.
- 0:15Speaker 2: But the apology from Alexia it got me thinking about
- 0:18Speaker 2: a lot of things that I did to my friends
- 0:19Speaker 2: growing up that were way worse than what happened over
- 0:23Speaker 2: the weekend. But it cracked me up because I walked
- 0:25Speaker 2: into the studio and I'll show the cameras that Alexia
- 0:27Speaker 2: wrote Abby this big apology over what happened this weekend,
- 0:30Speaker 2: and so just it's no big deal, but what kind
- 0:33Speaker 2: of went down.
- 0:34Speaker 3: We were taking a photo and she moved her hand
- 0:37Speaker 3: to pose in a certain way, and it was so
- 0:40Speaker 3: Hallmark movie esque, like it was like slow mo the
- 0:43Speaker 3: way this blueberry drink got all over me and these
- 0:47Speaker 3: new shorts that I had on and it's in my hair.
- 0:49Speaker 3: And so when I saw that apology, I'm like, it's
- 0:51Speaker 3: so sweet that she cares to apologize. But then I
- 0:53Speaker 3: was like, oh my god, did I was like, was
- 0:56Speaker 3: I okay? Because there were two minutes where I was like,
- 0:57Speaker 3: I just want to go home now, Like, oh.
- 0:59Speaker 1: Yeah, when it happened, you're sticky.
- 1:00Speaker 3: You're hot, you're sweaty, and everyone's like staring at you,
- 1:03Speaker 3: being like, get back in the photo. I'm like, yeah,
- 1:04Speaker 3: I don't want to get back in the pot. I'm
- 1:07Speaker 3: like I have blueberries in my hair, Like I'm I
- 1:09Speaker 3: would like.
- 1:09Speaker 4: To go home now.
- 1:10Speaker 2: Yeah. I do hate when those moments happen though, because
- 1:11Speaker 2: it's like it's awkward for everybody. It's awkward right back
- 1:14Speaker 2: to normal, but it won't be.
- 1:15Speaker 3: Yeah, but you have two minutes where you're like this sucks,
- 1:18Speaker 3: and then after two minutes you go it's it's fine,
- 1:21Speaker 3: you know what I mean, Like you dab yourself off
- 1:23Speaker 3: and it's fine.
- 1:23Speaker 2: Well, here's what Alexi wrote Abby this morning. As I
- 1:26Speaker 2: walked in and I was like, this is so sweet.
- 1:27Speaker 2: It just goes to show how nice Alexi is because
- 1:30Speaker 2: I heard her talking about it on her show yesterday.
- 1:31Speaker 3: She is very kind, and it made me feel worse.
- 1:33Speaker 3: I'm like, now I feel bad. Now, I feel like
- 1:34Speaker 3: I need to apologize to you. You're getting the drinks
- 1:37Speaker 3: spilled on me. I'm like, it's fine, it's really fine.
- 1:40Speaker 2: You can leave a note on this board after I
- 1:41Speaker 2: erased this, but she said, dear Abby, I'm so sorry
- 1:44Speaker 2: for aggressively posing in our photos and dramatically spilling your
- 1:48Speaker 2: drink on you with my dumb hand illy, and I
- 1:52Speaker 2: promise to only pose with my hands on my hips forever.
- 1:56Speaker 4: She's a sweetheart.
- 1:57Speaker 1: That is so sweet, very kind of her.
- 1:58Speaker 3: I sent her a text, and I was like, because
- 2:00Speaker 3: I was gonna send her a text on Sunday, and
- 2:03Speaker 3: I thought, is this just gonna make it seem like
- 2:05Speaker 3: it really wasn't that big of a deal, Like, is
- 2:07Speaker 3: it will show that it's not a big deal if
- 2:10Speaker 3: I just like, don't say anything.
- 2:12Speaker 4: So I didn't say anything.
- 2:13Speaker 3: And then when I saw this, I was like, oh,
- 2:14Speaker 3: I should have said that text to make her, to
- 2:16Speaker 3: let her know that I was fine.
- 2:18Speaker 2: Yeah, I mean I think everybody's cool here. I just
- 2:20Speaker 2: thought it was really funny that she put it there
- 2:21Speaker 2: in the studio. I was like, Okay, she's thinking about it.
- 2:23Speaker 2: But then I got I got thinking about the things
- 2:25Speaker 2: that we did as kids that just kind of ruined
- 2:27Speaker 2: the mood immediately, but way worse than that, way worse
- 2:30Speaker 2: than a spilt drink. And the first memory that came
- 2:32Speaker 2: back was we used to do a thing where it's
- 2:34Speaker 2: like you'd grab somebody by the ankles, you'd spin them around,
- 2:37Speaker 2: and you would like, I don't know, either have to
- 2:38Speaker 2: hop over the person or try to duck under them.
- 2:41Speaker 2: And were in the pool like on on land and
- 2:44Speaker 2: like the front yard yard, and like you'd grab them
- 2:46Speaker 2: by their ankle and like spin them around in like
- 2:48Speaker 2: a three sixty. Well, the way you're looking at me
- 2:52Speaker 2: is exactly why we shouldn't have done it.
- 2:54Speaker 1: But we were like twelve.
- 2:55Speaker 3: Well you were like like they're getting dragged on the
- 2:58Speaker 3: grass or no, like.
- 2:59Speaker 2: They're flying in the air, like you got them spinning
- 3:01Speaker 2: where they are up.
- 3:02Speaker 1: In the air going around.
- 3:04Speaker 2: Okay, And I remember one time that a buddy like
- 3:08Speaker 2: tried to like duck under it, and we whopped him
- 3:11Speaker 2: in the face and it broke his nose and it
- 3:13Speaker 2: was just the most awkward, horrible thing that could have happened. Yeah,
- 3:17Speaker 2: that it's like, no matter how many times you apologize
- 3:21Speaker 2: or how many times you say like you didn't mean to, like,
- 3:23Speaker 2: somebody's now bleeding from their face. Yeah, and the whole
- 3:26Speaker 2: entire day is ruined all because you tried to have
- 3:29Speaker 2: a little fun or tried to do something and it
- 3:31Speaker 2: got taken in a horrible direction. But that's what reminded
- 3:34Speaker 2: me of like things that you wanted to have fun
- 3:36Speaker 2: and do and then got taken.
- 3:37Speaker 1: Away too far.
- 3:38Speaker 4: Well, the difference is is like she didn't mean to
- 3:40Speaker 4: pour a drink.
- 3:41Speaker 1: On me, now to break my friend's nose.
- 3:43Speaker 3: Well, I mean, it's not like she did something that,
- 3:47Speaker 3: Like she could have predicted that the that the drink
- 3:51Speaker 3: was gonna spill on me. I think if you're flinging
- 3:53Speaker 3: your friend around like you can predict that something's probably
- 3:56Speaker 3: gonna go wrong, especially as kids.
- 3:59Speaker 1: I'm very so to Alexi and that fact though, of
- 4:01Speaker 1: like the posing.
- 4:03Speaker 2: We went to a wedding in Spain, and I think
- 4:05Speaker 2: in one night we went out to this bar, I
- 4:07Speaker 2: broke three wine glasses just because of very similar things
- 4:10Speaker 2: we're dramatically posing, throwing a glass up in the air,
- 4:13Speaker 2: slamming it down on the table, not meaning to, but
- 4:15Speaker 2: just Alexi is excited. I get excited. Things break and then.
- 4:19Speaker 1: You're like, oh dang it. Everyone the night and you
- 4:21Speaker 1: overthink it over and over again. But it did.
- 4:24Speaker 2: Thinking of overthinking, I think I finally made my first
- 4:27Speaker 2: mistake in the relationship.
- 4:29Speaker 4: Oh god, what happened?
- 4:30Speaker 2: Well, yesterday we were planning out our trip. We're going
- 4:32Speaker 2: to Denver and seeing my buddy out there. We're going
- 4:34Speaker 2: on this like Diplo five k, and it's our first
- 4:37Speaker 2: time and this is the monumental moment in a relationship
- 4:39Speaker 2: of like flying together, traveling together. We just did a
- 4:42Speaker 2: mini trip across the state. But now we're going to Denver.
- 4:45Speaker 2: And as we're getting on yesterday and we're booking our flights,
- 4:48Speaker 2: I misstepped because I wanted to make sure that we
- 4:51Speaker 2: sit together. You got to pay extra, and I said,
- 4:54Speaker 2: it's worth it. It's a longer flight. I want to
- 4:56Speaker 2: sit next to you on this flight. Worth the extra cost.
- 4:59Speaker 2: Where do you think would have been the appropriate place
- 5:01Speaker 2: for her to sit versus me?
- 5:02Speaker 1: To see?
- 5:03Speaker 3: This is a big debate, that's what amongst the girlies,
- 5:06Speaker 3: because a lot of girls think, well, I like the
- 5:08Speaker 3: window seats, so he should take the middle. But typically, stereotypically,
- 5:12Speaker 3: men are larger than women, and so they typically like
- 5:16Speaker 3: the isle. Like I know, my dad will not sit
- 5:18Speaker 3: anywhere except for the aisle. So then do you get
- 5:20Speaker 3: put in the middle seat if it's a three row,
- 5:23Speaker 3: and she knows I like the isle, you put her
- 5:25Speaker 3: in the middle seat.
- 5:25Speaker 2: I did put her in the middle seat, and I literally,
- 5:27Speaker 2: well I I tried to go back on my word,
- 5:30Speaker 2: but it was already too far because she knows.
- 5:32Speaker 1: She's like, well, you're you know, you're bigger.
- 5:34Speaker 2: I don't want you to be in the middle seat,
- 5:36Speaker 2: scrunched up between two people. That's never comfortable. And I
- 5:39Speaker 2: was like, you know, that's a great point. But then
- 5:41Speaker 2: I was like, wait, damn it. Now, if I'm in
- 5:43Speaker 2: the aisle seat and you're in the middle seat, who's
- 5:45Speaker 2: that I literally said this star.
- 5:46Speaker 1: I was like, who's gonna be the weirdo that's next
- 5:47Speaker 1: to you in the window seat? Yeah, you just don't know.
- 5:50Speaker 1: And now that's on me though. If we get sat
- 5:52Speaker 1: next to some creep, that's now on me because I
- 5:55Speaker 1: gave her the isle or the middle seat versus me
- 5:58Speaker 1: just sucking it up for a couple hours and be
- 6:00Speaker 1: in the middle.
- 6:00Speaker 4: How long is the flight?
- 6:01Speaker 1: It's like five hours. Remember it's a long one.
- 6:04Speaker 3: That's a long time to be cooped up, I will say.
- 6:06Speaker 3: And I don't know what it's like to be five
- 6:07Speaker 3: to seven and stuck behind and stuck an economy.
- 6:11Speaker 1: I don't like to say I have broad shoulders.
- 6:13Speaker 4: Okay, I don't know how hard that is.
- 6:15Speaker 2: My knees are not the problem. It is the problem though,
- 6:18Speaker 2: that whenever I get put in the middle seat. I
- 6:19Speaker 2: know this is everyone's scenario too. Whenever you finally get
- 6:22Speaker 2: that middle seat, you're next to two very broad shouldered
- 6:26Speaker 2: people and you are just stuck like glue for the
- 6:28Speaker 2: entire ride.
- 6:29Speaker 4: It sucks.
- 6:30Speaker 3: I mean, I don't know why we even have middle seats.
- 6:32Speaker 3: Nobody wants to be in one. Can't we just make
- 6:33Speaker 3: the planes longer?
- 6:34Speaker 2: Well, I think they're trying to make it where like
- 6:35Speaker 2: either you're standing or they're stacked. That's crazy, I know,
- 6:38Speaker 2: but it's the only option instead of like getting first class,
- 6:41Speaker 2: where you have so much space that you don't even
- 6:42Speaker 2: know what to do with it.
- 6:43Speaker 1: But I did misstep, and I think I'm gonna have
- 6:45Speaker 1: to go back on it.
- 6:46Speaker 2: I will probably do the thing on the day where
- 6:48Speaker 2: it's like I give her the aisle, but I had
- 6:50Speaker 2: to take the aisle because then, let's say, this is
- 6:53Speaker 2: literally all my logical go.
- 6:54Speaker 4: To the bathroom.
- 6:55Speaker 3: Yes that you can ask a rando to get up.
- 6:58Speaker 3: I know, it sucks and it's very odwards, always off.
- 7:01Speaker 3: You have to plan it specifically, and I've actually, you know,
- 7:03Speaker 3: it's so funny. I used to plan out my seats
- 7:05Speaker 3: on international flights specifically so I wouldn't have to ask.
- 7:08Speaker 3: I would try and get like the extended row seat.
- 7:11Speaker 3: But then I flew home from Greece and I think
- 7:13Speaker 3: it was like a fourteen hour flight. I don't know how,
- 7:16Speaker 3: but I locked in on both flights there and back
- 7:20Speaker 3: and I did not have to pee the entire flight.
- 7:22Speaker 1: That's not healthy.
- 7:23Speaker 4: I don't think it is.
- 7:24Speaker 1: It can't be good for your black I don't think.
- 7:26Speaker 3: But I just think if you just don't drink too much,
- 7:28Speaker 3: you're fine. But like I think the will to not
- 7:31Speaker 3: want to ask somebody to move was stronger than my bladder.
- 7:34Speaker 2: I've done that only a few times, and I regretted
- 7:36Speaker 2: it heavily. Like I remember the first time I went
- 7:38Speaker 2: to Chicago and I was it was going like for
- 7:40Speaker 2: like a conference, and so we're all together as like
- 7:43Speaker 2: radio people, and we landed and the whole flight the
- 7:46Speaker 2: same teos two hours.
- 7:47Speaker 1: I'm not gonna pee.
- 7:48Speaker 2: I'm good, I'll peel when we get off the plane. Well,
- 7:51Speaker 2: then we land, and then we're sitting on the tarmac
- 7:54Speaker 2: for like an hour and everyone's standing in the aisle.
- 7:58Speaker 2: So there's no possible way that I'm to get back there.
- 8:01Speaker 2: I don't even know if legally you're allowed to go
- 8:02Speaker 2: back once the plan is landed. And so it was
- 8:05Speaker 2: the most excruciating pain.
- 8:07Speaker 4: I'm in pain for you thinking about that.
- 8:08Speaker 1: Never again will I do it, especially on.
- 8:10Speaker 4: An international flight.
- 8:11Speaker 3: Like if you've ever landed at Heathrow, you've been on
- 8:13Speaker 3: that long ass flight and then they're like here, get
- 8:15Speaker 3: on a bus.
- 8:15Speaker 2: Yeah, go ahead and just take a little ride, and
- 8:17Speaker 2: you gotta wait for everybody to stack in and then
- 8:20Speaker 2: everybody to get back out. And once that moment happened,
- 8:23Speaker 2: I will never make that mistake again. So I will
- 8:26Speaker 2: ask the person. But if I ever have the choice
- 8:27Speaker 2: of doing aisle, I'm taking the aisle simply so I
- 8:30Speaker 2: don't have to ask.
- 8:30Speaker 1: I just get up and go. Because half the time
- 8:33Speaker 1: people have like their wires connected to the TV.
- 8:36Speaker 2: On a longer flight, they got a blanket wrapped over them,
- 8:38Speaker 2: they might have an eye mask on. God sleep the
- 8:41Speaker 2: whole time, and then you gotta be the knock knock
- 8:43Speaker 2: on the shoulder. But if I were to get myself
- 8:46Speaker 2: to be able to do it, I say to myself, well,
- 8:48Speaker 2: you pick this, you picked the aisle, you knew.
- 8:50Speaker 1: The risk, and I'm okay with the risk. When somebody
- 8:52Speaker 1: wants to move me, go ahead.
- 8:53Speaker 3: Maybe this is one of those things that you just
- 8:55Speaker 3: have to learn in a relationship. It's not going to
- 8:58Speaker 3: be as convenient for you. So, for example, I'm very
- 9:01Speaker 3: passionate about the window seat. I like to have control
- 9:05Speaker 3: of the window because nothing I hate more is than
- 9:08Speaker 3: being on a noon flight and someone's got the window
- 9:10Speaker 3: up and now you're just in like this big light
- 9:13Speaker 3: tunnel and it's just in your eyes, or maybe you're
- 9:15Speaker 3: trying to sleep, you're trying to watch TV and you
- 9:17Speaker 3: can't see it. Because somebody wants to look at clouds
- 9:20Speaker 3: for four hours.
- 9:21Speaker 2: Well, this is where I kind of have to push back,
- 9:23Speaker 2: because it depends on the flight. You could look down
- 9:24Speaker 2: at the ground the whole time if you are close enough,
- 9:27Speaker 2: if it's.
- 9:27Speaker 3: A long time, You're never that close to the ground
- 9:30Speaker 3: for four hours. And I understand if you want to
- 9:33Speaker 3: like have a little peek, or I know some people
- 9:35Speaker 3: get really bad take off anxiety and they like to
- 9:37Speaker 3: look at the ground and just make sure.
- 9:39Speaker 4: It's still there.
- 9:40Speaker 3: I don't really know what they're getting out of it,
- 9:41Speaker 3: but I know that about me. I know that I'm
- 9:44Speaker 3: passionate enough about it that I need to sit in
- 9:46Speaker 3: the window seat. So I always put myself in the
- 9:48Speaker 3: window seat. But I've had this conversation with myself where
- 9:51Speaker 3: if I want to date someone who's six 's five,
- 9:53Speaker 3: they're gonna want the aisle seat.
- 9:55Speaker 4: Now here's the thing. I'm hoping he's rich enough to
- 9:57Speaker 4: just put us in first class.
- 9:58Speaker 1: That's the goal. That real nice, That would.
- 10:01Speaker 4: Be great, But yeah, that's something I've thought about for sure.
- 10:03Speaker 2: It's so funny have we have to have go through
- 10:05Speaker 2: these different stages of it.
- 10:06Speaker 3: And personally, I'm not gonna be I'm gonna marry someone
- 10:09Speaker 3: rich so I'll never have to go through this.
- 10:12Speaker 2: I will be the rich person eventually. Right now, we're
- 10:16Speaker 2: just stuck back in aisle twenty one. Yeah, and I'm
- 10:18Speaker 2: gonna take the aisle and put her in the middle,
- 10:20Speaker 2: and hopefully there's not a weird there that's next to
- 10:22Speaker 2: us as we go all the way to Denver.
- 10:23Speaker 3: Here's how you can make it better, though, if you
- 10:25Speaker 3: give yourself the aisle seat. You gotta, like, I don't know,
- 10:29Speaker 3: let her put her legs up on you or something.
- 10:31Speaker 2: Yeah, I know, I absolutely, Well, that's kind of funny.
- 10:33Speaker 2: Why I made her sit next to me. I was like,
- 10:35Speaker 2: we're gonna pay the extra a little bit to get
- 10:37Speaker 2: you next to me, because like, I'll be cutting up
- 10:39Speaker 2: on a flight five hours.
- 10:42Speaker 4: Also, I feel like they shouldn't have charged for the
- 10:43Speaker 4: middle seat. That's crazy.
- 10:44Speaker 2: That is crazy because it's the only choice that you
- 10:46Speaker 2: don't want to have. But somebody, what I'm hoping for
- 10:49Speaker 2: is it's a late flight, nobody's gonna be in the row. Yeah,
- 10:52Speaker 2: I'll feel silly for paying extra, but I'll still be
- 10:54Speaker 2: grateful that there's nobody in that window.
- 10:56Speaker 1: Which we'll thinking for sure for one hundred percent.
- 10:58Speaker 2: But in that same sentence, things that I'm kind of
- 11:00Speaker 2: going through for the first time is now I also
- 11:02Speaker 2: realized it a month I'm gonna be celebrating her birthday.
- 11:05Speaker 1: Very exciting, but it's again that's it's on me to plan.
- 11:10Speaker 4: Yeah, but you've already I mean, you already planned that
- 11:12Speaker 4: whole trip to the Fenway. You can't plan a birthday party.
- 11:15Speaker 2: Well, this is where it kind of gets into the hmm,
- 11:18Speaker 2: what would be the better option? Because my partner usually
- 11:22Speaker 2: always plans their gatherings, their parties, their celebrations, and so
- 11:27Speaker 2: it's something that they truly enjoy doing. Now I want
- 11:31Speaker 2: to be the partner that's also like, Yeah, I'm gonna
- 11:33Speaker 2: do a little extra for you. I want to surprise
- 11:35Speaker 2: a little something for you, But I also don't want
- 11:37Speaker 2: to overstep. And now I have about a month and
- 11:39Speaker 2: a half to figure out what that's going to be
- 11:41Speaker 2: without overstepping over their celebrations to make sure that they
- 11:44Speaker 2: still get the surprise that they deserve. Yeah, but also
- 11:47Speaker 2: it doesn't take away from their glory of planning something
- 11:49Speaker 2: with their friends.
- 11:50Speaker 3: Well, I think this is a really great opportunity for
- 11:52Speaker 3: you to make those connections with her friends and just
- 11:54Speaker 3: be like, what do you think my role is here?
- 11:56Speaker 4: How do I step in here? What do you think
- 11:57Speaker 4: she's gonna want for me? And put it out there.
- 12:00Speaker 4: I don't mind taking the range.
- 12:01Speaker 3: You don't have to give me any advice, Like, I'm
- 12:03Speaker 3: happy to like do whatever, but I want to make
- 12:05Speaker 3: sure whatever you guys are doing, I don't overstep, or
- 12:08Speaker 3: if we want to work together in tandem, I.
- 12:10Speaker 4: Think this is a great way for you to build
- 12:11Speaker 4: those relationships with them.
- 12:12Speaker 2: Yeah, I'm excited to be able to reach out and
- 12:14Speaker 2: kind of start doing something a little on the side private.
- 12:17Speaker 2: I do have a feeling that word will get out,
- 12:19Speaker 2: obviously it's on a podcast. Word will get out that
- 12:21Speaker 2: I'm setting something up. Yeah, but I do want to
- 12:24Speaker 2: make it special because it's the first one. So it's
- 12:26Speaker 2: like I've kind of set the bar pretty high.
- 12:28Speaker 4: Yeah, you love bomb the hell out of her. I did.
- 12:32Speaker 1: I did. I could admit that. I don't regret it, but.
- 12:35Speaker 4: Now that it's only love bombing. If it doesn't work out.
- 12:37Speaker 1: That's true. If it does, it's romantic. If this is
- 12:40Speaker 1: your person, well there you go. You're welcome. I set
- 12:42Speaker 1: it up for success.
- 12:43Speaker 3: That's what I tell myself every time I get ghosted.
- 12:45Speaker 3: I'm like, oh, now it's love bombing.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Well yeah, now you just did too much. But I
- 12:48Speaker 2: am excited to be able to start planning those things out.
- 12:51Speaker 2: And I know there's a couple of big trips that
- 12:52Speaker 2: you have coming up. One plug for your girls.
- 12:55Speaker 3: Get away, Yeah tripa Bay getaway. Deadline is July first.
- 12:58Speaker 3: I think I may the deadline, but I actually don't
- 13:01Speaker 3: remember what it was. I think it's July. It's a
- 13:03Speaker 3: vague July date. You just have to put down a deposit.
- 13:05Speaker 3: The deposit is non refundable, but you don't have to
- 13:08Speaker 3: pay everything up front. The whole price is seven ninety nine,
- 13:11Speaker 3: so you pay like three seventy five up front.
- 13:13Speaker 4: That gets you on the list.
- 13:15Speaker 3: So I get you a your hotel room and all
- 13:17Speaker 3: the things, and I can make all the reservations and
- 13:18Speaker 3: put the payments down and pay you off the credit card,
- 13:21Speaker 3: and then everything else is due in July.
- 13:24Speaker 1: That's pretty so that price, it just that covers the
- 13:26Speaker 1: hotel as.
- 13:26Speaker 3: Well, covers three nights at a hotel, party, bus table
- 13:31Speaker 3: at a clear a piano bar, not necessarily a club.
- 13:35Speaker 3: I guess it turns into I'm telling you right now,
- 13:37Speaker 3: it turns in. Yeah, it's a piano bar that then
- 13:38Speaker 3: turns into a club. But I think we're turning in
- 13:40Speaker 3: a little bit earlier, because then we're going on a
- 13:43Speaker 3: sandbar cruise the next day, and then.
- 13:46Speaker 4: What else are we doing? We also have the pool party.
- 13:48Speaker 3: At the Moxie, and then also a women's workout class
- 13:51Speaker 3: and then some other fun surprises here.
- 13:53Speaker 1: That's crazy I am amazed, like literally truthfully, not even
- 13:56Speaker 1: like trying to plug you anymore. I'm like that price
- 13:57Speaker 1: and all that, I don't know how you did that.
- 14:00Speaker 3: I was like how many because I wanted to see,
- 14:02Speaker 3: like is because I know the I Plan Girls trips
- 14:07Speaker 3: and they're all pretty expensive, like I think the one
- 14:09Speaker 3: in Italy is like almost four K. I'm like, that's
- 14:11Speaker 3: a lot of money, and so when people sign up
- 14:13Speaker 3: to go, I'm like, oh my god, that's crazy, Like
- 14:14Speaker 3: thank you for wanting to come to Italy with me,
- 14:16Speaker 3: Like I know you're signing up for Italy, and thank
- 14:18Speaker 3: you for coming to Italy with me because for that money,
- 14:20Speaker 3: you could go anywhere. True, And we went to Greece
- 14:22Speaker 3: and that was a similar price, and so I was like,
- 14:24Speaker 3: how can I get this price as low as possible
- 14:26Speaker 3: and give them as much as possible for the people
- 14:28Speaker 3: who can't, you know, do an international flight. So if
- 14:30Speaker 3: you want to check out the details, that's in the
- 14:31Speaker 3: episode description, and then yeah, I'm going to Italy in September.
- 14:34Speaker 4: I'm very excited about that.
- 14:35Speaker 1: Fun.
- 14:35Speaker 2: There's so many big trips. I need more trips set
- 14:38Speaker 2: up for the fall because I had a.
- 14:40Speaker 3: Guy you just went on like a huge ayahuasca retreat.
- 14:43Speaker 3: You were gonna go to Alaska.
- 14:44Speaker 1: I was gonna go, but I canceled that trip.
- 14:46Speaker 4: You're going to Colorado with your girlfriend.
- 14:48Speaker 1: And that's a two day trip. So I'm very excited
- 14:51Speaker 1: for that.
- 14:51Speaker 2: But I'm talking about the second half of the year
- 14:53Speaker 2: where it's like October, November, December.
- 14:57Speaker 1: I think what we're gonna do in December.
- 14:58Speaker 2: I just got the text from a friend is go
- 15:00Speaker 2: to New Orleans for the first time for a friend's
- 15:03Speaker 2: thirtieth because it was gonna be originally Vegas and so
- 15:06Speaker 2: two are very opposite. But we're gonna go check out
- 15:08Speaker 2: the historic side of New Orleans instead of December.
- 15:12Speaker 4: New Orleans is a great food scene.
- 15:13Speaker 1: I'm very excited for that.
- 15:14Speaker 3: There's a couple of restaurants that are world renowned there.
- 15:17Speaker 3: I don't know, I don't have any desire to go
- 15:18Speaker 3: back to Bourbon Street, but I would go back just
- 15:20Speaker 3: to try some of the restaurants.
- 15:21Speaker 2: See, that's the thing that I kind of get enjoyment
- 15:23Speaker 2: out of, Like if I could put some money aside,
- 15:26Speaker 2: it's for the food experiences. Or we talked about this
- 15:30Speaker 2: actually when Abby first like moved over here. I was like,
- 15:32Speaker 2: what is the thing that you like to splurge on?
- 15:33Speaker 2: And I said this, and you guys were like what
- 15:35Speaker 2: And I was like, well, like if I can like
- 15:36Speaker 2: a first class ticket on a flight, Oh yeah.
- 15:38Speaker 1: I on an international one. Like those are little things
- 15:41Speaker 1: like I don't care about clothing if this gets put
- 15:43Speaker 1: on video. I wear the same thing every single week. Same.
- 15:47Speaker 2: But if I could get money aside, Like it's I
- 15:49Speaker 2: want to check out really cool restaurants that have like
- 15:51Speaker 2: a cool ambiance, a cool atmosphere that's not just good food,
- 15:55Speaker 2: because I don't think good food is enough for the price.
- 15:57Speaker 4: No.
- 15:58Speaker 3: I enjoy a hole in the wall moment every now
- 16:00Speaker 3: and then. But it's like you want to get dressed up,
- 16:02Speaker 3: you want to have like an ambiance, you want to
- 16:04Speaker 3: sit at the bar.
- 16:05Speaker 4: I think going to a restaurant is so much more
- 16:07Speaker 4: than just the food.
- 16:08Speaker 2: Correct, Like that's how I felt when we went to
- 16:10Speaker 2: this new place in Table the Sapphire.
- 16:11Speaker 1: Yeah. I was like, ah, that's perfect.
- 16:14Speaker 4: It's an elevated experience.
- 16:15Speaker 2: I want to be able to get dressed up and
- 16:16Speaker 2: then dance at the end of the night and then
- 16:18Speaker 2: have a nice craft cocktail at the bar.
- 16:20Speaker 1: Where it's like you feel like you're at something very
- 16:22Speaker 1: rich because it is very nice.
- 16:23Speaker 4: It does feel very boogie.
- 16:24Speaker 2: But in that same thing, it's like I'm also like, okay,
- 16:26Speaker 2: let me put a little bit aside. For like, if
- 16:27Speaker 2: we do go international, which I would love to do,
- 16:29Speaker 2: and get a first class ticket where they give you
- 16:32Speaker 2: all lives and wine as soon as you get on,
- 16:33Speaker 2: I know that's the real experience right there.
- 16:36Speaker 4: It is a real experience.
- 16:37Speaker 3: And I think it's funny how people go in two
- 16:39Speaker 3: different directions when it comes to first class. Like after
- 16:41Speaker 3: I flew first class for the first time international, I
- 16:44Speaker 3: was like, that was good, but like I think I
- 16:46Speaker 3: could have survived economy, and then the people who fly
- 16:49Speaker 3: first class and I'm like, now I never want to.
- 16:50Speaker 1: Do economy again.
- 16:51Speaker 3: That's me And don't get me wrong, like it's a
- 16:53Speaker 3: really great experience. I just think the price is so
- 16:56Speaker 3: outlandish that unless ten thousand dollars is like whatever to you,
- 17:00Speaker 3: it's fourteen hours to where I'm like, I would rather
- 17:03Speaker 3: just lock in an economy and then go to like
- 17:05Speaker 3: a nice hotel in Lake Como or wherever the heck
- 17:08Speaker 3: I'm going. If you're some people ten thousand dollars is
- 17:10Speaker 3: not a big deal. Or you use airline points.
- 17:12Speaker 2: That's what I okay, that was the difference for me.
- 17:14Speaker 2: I was like, I'm not paying ten thousand. We got
- 17:15Speaker 2: an upgrade. Yeah, that was like, oh, by the way,
- 17:17Speaker 2: the flight's gonna take off tomorrow. Upgrade for five hundred,
- 17:19Speaker 2: and I was like, oh a hundred.
- 17:21Speaker 3: So the upgrade I would take an even if it
- 17:23Speaker 3: was a kind of expensive upgrade, like for example, for
- 17:25Speaker 3: me to go Delta one to Italy in September, it
- 17:28Speaker 3: was gonna be like eight thousand dollars. I did get
- 17:31Speaker 3: offered an upgrade like a week or two after, and
- 17:33Speaker 3: the upgrade wasn't bad. Like I think the upgrade was
- 17:35Speaker 3: around like two or three thousand, and.
- 17:37Speaker 4: I thought about it.
- 17:38Speaker 3: I was like, maybe I could do that in like
- 17:40Speaker 3: one way, so maybe it's only like one one thousand.
- 17:42Speaker 3: Maybe that would be worth it on the way back
- 17:44Speaker 3: so I can sleep. I don't know, but if I
- 17:46Speaker 3: got a decent upgrade, because I'm flying flying back on
- 17:49Speaker 3: nine to eleven, so I'm hoping like no one's flying
- 17:52Speaker 3: that day, Oh boy, I'm like I I think I
- 17:54Speaker 3: might take the upgrade back.
- 17:55Speaker 1: Honestly, when we did it. It was so worth it.
- 17:59Speaker 3: It is really great, and I thought it. I would
- 18:01Speaker 3: love to do Emirates one day too.
- 18:02Speaker 2: That's a little I got a credit card specifically with
- 18:04Speaker 2: the dream of doing Emirates one day where it's like
- 18:06Speaker 2: you do the Bar in the sky, you get your
- 18:08Speaker 2: own little private suite that you get to sleep in.
- 18:12Speaker 2: And what's kind of funny is because you get these
- 18:14Speaker 2: planes that like you could sleep in, and so you're
- 18:16Speaker 2: kind of paying to sleep, which is just kind of
- 18:18Speaker 2: nutty to think of.
- 18:19Speaker 3: Well, if sleep is worth it to you, I mean,
- 18:21Speaker 3: you get a whole extra day vacation, so you're technically
- 18:23Speaker 3: paying for that. I think that's why it's not worth
- 18:25Speaker 3: it to me is because no matter what, I can't
- 18:27Speaker 3: sleep on planes.
- 18:28Speaker 1: Oh yeah I didn't.
- 18:29Speaker 2: When I came on that first flight, first class flight,
- 18:33Speaker 2: I did not sleep. I wasn't out able to. I
- 18:35Speaker 2: laid all the way back and I watched a movie
- 18:37Speaker 2: on the big ass screen and I drank the little wine.
- 18:39Speaker 4: It is nice to lounge.
- 18:40Speaker 1: It was very nice lounge, and it was very cozy.
- 18:42Speaker 2: And they give you so stupid but they give you
- 18:44Speaker 2: like slippers and I still have the hand creams and
- 18:47Speaker 2: I'm like, ooh, there's the chapstick.
- 18:48Speaker 1: Yeah, all that wasn't worth the money. I don't think
- 18:50Speaker 1: they're ten thousand dollars.
- 18:51Speaker 4: Like, I'm keeping the chapstick. That chapstick is never running out.
- 18:55Speaker 1: I took the bag and everything.
- 18:56Speaker 2: The only thing I couldn't legally take was the noise
- 18:58Speaker 2: canceling headphones. Yeah, but that may that experience. I was like,
- 19:01Speaker 2: if I could ever find a way to do that again.
- 19:02Speaker 2: But that's why I was like, all right, get in
- 19:04Speaker 2: the credit card to get the points one day with
- 19:06Speaker 2: the dream of doing Emirates. And I tell that to
- 19:09Speaker 2: friends and they're like, that is the stupidest thing you
- 19:10Speaker 2: could spend money. And I'm like, yeah, I get for
- 19:13Speaker 2: some people, but for me, that is a dream.
- 19:15Speaker 3: Well, speaking of things that I said I would never
- 19:17Speaker 3: do again, do you want to know what he did
- 19:20Speaker 3: on Sunday?
- 19:21Speaker 1: Oh, I already have a feeling. What'd you do?
- 19:23Speaker 3: I redownloaded hin and then I deleted it literally twelve
- 19:28Speaker 3: hours later.
- 19:28Speaker 4: Wow. I didn't think it could get worse, but it did.
- 19:31Speaker 1: It did.
- 19:32Speaker 3: It absolutely got worse. Like I don't remember the dating
- 19:34Speaker 3: apps being that bad. Actually, I like came back in
- 19:38Speaker 3: and I was like, oh, it feels a little empty
- 19:39Speaker 3: in here.
- 19:40Speaker 1: Oh my gosh.
- 19:41Speaker 2: She The one time I got on Bumble, it was
- 19:44Speaker 2: out of like it was in like twenty twenty. I
- 19:47Speaker 2: was going to apply for a job over in Orlando.
- 19:49Speaker 2: It was all part of like the job I have now,
- 19:51Speaker 2: but it was all together, and so I was in
- 19:53Speaker 2: a hotel and I was like, let me just download Bumble.
- 19:55Speaker 1: See what it's like.
- 19:56Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 19:56Speaker 1: It depressed me immediately.
- 19:57Speaker 2: It's so depressive cause I was like, oh, really, nothing, nobody,
- 20:01Speaker 2: nobody wants to talk to a.
- 20:02Speaker 1: Little old me.
- 20:02Speaker 3: Because it's not that it's not it's not that there
- 20:04Speaker 3: aren't attractive people on there. It's just that when you
- 20:07Speaker 3: do match with them, you realize, Okay, this person's on
- 20:09Speaker 3: here for a reason. They're a douche, or they're just
- 20:11Speaker 3: looking to hook up, or like the only people that
- 20:13Speaker 3: are talking to are like the little grimlins in the corner,
- 20:15Speaker 3: like hair hair.
- 20:16Speaker 2: Yeah, what would like any messages come through on the
- 20:20Speaker 2: Oh yeah yeah.
- 20:21Speaker 3: And I mean when I say deleted it, I mean
- 20:23Speaker 3: I just never went back on it again.
- 20:24Speaker 1: Yeah, I mean I think it's see.
- 20:26Speaker 2: I would go back and forth like is it interesting
- 20:28Speaker 2: to still see it's like, but the good guys, I
- 20:30Speaker 2: don't think. Why Well, let me take that back though,
- 20:33Speaker 2: because I was just at a wedding.
- 20:34Speaker 1: Where do they meet? Tender?
- 20:36Speaker 3: So many people are meeting on dating apps, so it
- 20:38Speaker 3: feels like you're ruining your odds if you're not on them.
- 20:40Speaker 3: But I'm like, well, I was on them for ten
- 20:42Speaker 3: years and nothing happened. So it's like, Okay, how many
- 20:45Speaker 3: positive experiences did I really have?
- 20:46Speaker 2: You know how many times you have to throw your
- 20:48Speaker 2: rod into the pond before you catch a good fish?
- 20:50Speaker 4: Yeah?
- 20:50Speaker 3: Yeah, well I'd rather just put that put that energy elsewhere.
- 20:53Speaker 3: But yeah, it's like twenty six year old saying hey,
- 20:55Speaker 3: smiley face, which I don't know. I think maybe because
- 20:58Speaker 3: I'm I'm like, we've lowered the bar so far that.
- 21:03Speaker 4: I'm like.
- 21:05Speaker 3: That, getting like a high with a smiley face just
- 21:08Speaker 3: feels like, oh my god. I just feel like I'm
- 21:10Speaker 3: in the Red Lake District. I feel yeah, and I'm
- 21:12Speaker 3: some girl in the window. That's what it feels like
- 21:14Speaker 3: to me.
- 21:14Speaker 2: I get that because it's like, oh, okay, this feels
- 21:16Speaker 2: very childish. Could you read your pro like what does
- 21:18Speaker 2: your profile say on it?
- 21:19Speaker 4: Like? So that's what I was kind of annoyed about.
- 21:21Speaker 4: I'm like, my photos have only.
- 21:24Speaker 3: Gotten better, Like I I've taken some really good photos
- 21:27Speaker 3: in the last six months. I got my G seven
- 21:30Speaker 3: X out, I was like, surely, surely I'm going to
- 21:32Speaker 3: catch a big fish in this massive pond. And it's
- 21:36Speaker 3: just so my profile pictures me and my cousin.
- 21:38Speaker 1: Oh there that's a really nice photo.
- 21:40Speaker 4: Yeah, here's my profile.
- 21:41Speaker 3: You guys so uploaded that my simple Pleasures vine compilations
- 21:45Speaker 3: on YouTube.
- 21:46Speaker 1: Oh that's a good one.
- 21:47Speaker 4: Thought that was like a nice niche like if you
- 21:50Speaker 4: if you, if you know you.
- 21:51Speaker 2: Know correct, and you would also I will say this,
- 21:54Speaker 2: maybe I'm wrong, but you kind of got to be
- 21:55Speaker 2: old enough to understand that reference.
- 21:57Speaker 4: But you also need to be above twenty five.
- 21:59Speaker 2: Yeah, like at that point, you're kind of weeding out
- 22:01Speaker 2: the ones that are like, what's fine?
- 22:02Speaker 1: What is okayod? We're not going to date?
- 22:04Speaker 4: Is it like TikTok? And then you know what's so funny?
- 22:06Speaker 3: When I posted this photo from the Raise game, I
- 22:09Speaker 3: got so literally multiple messages saying this needs to be
- 22:12Speaker 3: your new hinge profile picture. I'm like, surprise, I don't
- 22:14Speaker 3: have hinge anymore?
- 22:16Speaker 1: About it. It's this one, yes.
- 22:18Speaker 3: Which I don't think this is I like this photo,
- 22:20Speaker 3: but I don't think this is that good of a photo.
- 22:22Speaker 1: It's a great photo.
- 22:23Speaker 3: I don't think my hair looks good in it. I'm
- 22:26Speaker 3: not really smiling. It looks like an ad for this
- 22:29Speaker 3: tequila drink that I'm having.
- 22:31Speaker 4: Like it's fine, but.
- 22:32Speaker 1: You're that sportsy Tampa girl. Yeah, you got that swagger
- 22:36Speaker 1: to you.
- 22:36Speaker 4: I guess.
- 22:37Speaker 3: So this one's that one gets liked a lot, And
- 22:39Speaker 3: it's funny because I just would have never picked that,
- 22:42Speaker 3: Like it's not my profile picture.
- 22:43Speaker 4: Like, I don't think it's that good of a photo.
- 22:45Speaker 4: Like to me, I'm like, this is the best photo
- 22:46Speaker 4: I have, Like.
- 22:47Speaker 1: This is a great pick.
- 22:48Speaker 4: And then me and my friend Tory uh Birchwood.
- 22:52Speaker 1: Can it be Oh there you go.
- 22:55Speaker 4: A life goal of mine to not die alone.
- 22:57Speaker 1: Oh that's okay.
- 22:58Speaker 3: Here's me and my cousin and my brother's Beyonce at
- 23:04Speaker 3: her bridal shower.
- 23:05Speaker 2: What is your thought process when you're going through the photos?
- 23:07Speaker 2: Is it like because I know, like for guys, I've
- 23:09Speaker 2: had many friends that are like you need one of you,
- 23:11Speaker 2: but one also shows you have friends. Yeah, also you
- 23:13Speaker 2: don't want to do the one that's like the gym
- 23:15Speaker 2: like selfie Jim.
- 23:16Speaker 1: Selfies are a big inch for me. I don't want
- 23:18Speaker 1: to do the one holding a fish.
- 23:20Speaker 2: Yeah, even though if you like outdoor activities or you
- 23:22Speaker 2: want to find someone that actually likes that.
- 23:23Speaker 1: Yeah.
- 23:24Speaker 3: So my last profile I felt like was perfectly curated.
- 23:27Speaker 3: So when I was creating this one, I was like,
- 23:28Speaker 3: oh god, I'm starting to scratch again. Like I had
- 23:30Speaker 3: so much time to think it over that Now I'm like,
- 23:32Speaker 3: I actually don't know if this is a good profile.
- 23:34Speaker 4: I just put photos that.
- 23:35Speaker 3: I thought I looked good at, because guys, I don't
- 23:36Speaker 3: feel like you're thinking they're not.
- 23:38Speaker 2: We don't think that way. Like we're just like, oh,
- 23:40Speaker 2: pretty photo, Yeah cool. I want to get to know her.
- 23:42Speaker 3: Me and my friend Jordan at Saint Andrews pretending to
- 23:45Speaker 3: play golf.
- 23:46Speaker 1: I'll see funny shows, a little.
- 23:47Speaker 3: Humor, and then me and my brother's fiance on a boat.
- 23:50Speaker 3: Because I'm like, I'll do one swimsuit photo.
- 23:52Speaker 1: There you go. Yeah.
- 23:55Speaker 4: I was like, you got to make it to the
- 23:56Speaker 4: very end of the profile.
- 23:57Speaker 1: Hey, you gotta do a little deep dive and you've.
- 23:59Speaker 4: Got a turn off for the ladies. I had this
- 24:01Speaker 4: on my profile for a while.
- 24:03Speaker 3: There's like a setting on both Bumble and Hinge where
- 24:05Speaker 3: they will put your most popular photo first, and so
- 24:07Speaker 3: of course my last profile it was the bikini photo,
- 24:10Speaker 3: and I got so many nagging messages where it's like, oh,
- 24:13Speaker 3: red flag, a bikini photo is your profile picture.
- 24:16Speaker 4: I'm like, it's cause U sluts.
- 24:18Speaker 1: Yeah, you're the one.
- 24:19Speaker 3: I spend the most time on this photo, so of
- 24:21Speaker 3: course it's the first one. So I had to turn
- 24:23Speaker 3: that off and put my put my actual face on
- 24:25Speaker 3: my profile. But like, yeah, it's it is more dismal
- 24:30Speaker 3: than I remember.
- 24:31Speaker 2: Yeah, well, I would say, I guess the check in
- 24:33Speaker 2: would be how does your mental health feel after like
- 24:36Speaker 2: a couple of days on it, because I was like
- 24:38Speaker 2: again the short time that I was on, and I
- 24:39Speaker 2: was like, I feel horrible.
- 24:40Speaker 3: Yeah, well it felt really good to be off of
- 24:42Speaker 3: it the first couple of months, Like honestly, I was like,
- 24:45Speaker 3: you know what, maybe this is making me focus more
- 24:47Speaker 3: on meeting people in real life, which I actually do
- 24:49Speaker 3: think it did. I think when you don't have the option,
- 24:51Speaker 3: you don't use that as a safety net in your head,
- 24:53Speaker 3: Like if you see someone in person. I definitely felt
- 24:56Speaker 3: more like, oh, I've got to go say something to them,
- 24:58Speaker 3: because otherwise how else are you gonna be somebody? But
- 25:01Speaker 3: then it got to the point the last month and
- 25:05Speaker 3: maybe it's just because I recently turned twenty nine, and
- 25:08Speaker 3: also my brother's wedding is coming up, so it's just
- 25:09Speaker 3: all kind of in the forefront of my mind.
- 25:11Speaker 4: I found myself feeling really dismal.
- 25:14Speaker 3: About my romantic life, and I thought, well, I mean,
- 25:16Speaker 3: maybe I should just go on a date, Like maybe
- 25:18Speaker 3: if I just go on a date, I'll get such
- 25:20Speaker 3: a big dick that I'll be like, yeah, I'm fine
- 25:21Speaker 3: being single.
- 25:22Speaker 2: So I feel like reminds you of like, oh wait, no,
- 25:24Speaker 2: these fish are disgusting.
- 25:25Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 25:26Speaker 3: I was walking home from Solidor on Sunday and I
- 25:28Speaker 3: was like, you know, let me just like throw a
- 25:29Speaker 3: profile together.
- 25:29Speaker 4: Let me just see who's out there.
- 25:30Speaker 3: At the very least, maybe I can get some people
- 25:32Speaker 3: on Bayshore Bays, because I did think about just creating
- 25:36Speaker 3: a profile specifically to recruit people, and so I have
- 25:39Speaker 3: that on my profile too, where it's like either ask
- 25:41Speaker 3: me out or come on bashort base like pick one.
- 25:43Speaker 1: There you go. That's actually not a bad business idea, honestly, No.
- 25:46Speaker 3: But I moved it to the bottom because I felt
- 25:48Speaker 3: like maybe it was giving people the ick. I'm like,
- 25:50Speaker 3: let me just let me make sure they really liked
- 25:51Speaker 3: me before they see my profile.
- 25:53Speaker 2: Yeah, to be able to give them a chance. And
- 25:56Speaker 2: I think it's a better option at least to be
- 25:58Speaker 2: out there. You can meet some cool people, at least
- 26:00Speaker 2: in the Tampa Bay area.
- 26:01Speaker 3: Yeah, I think I think I need to go out
- 26:03Speaker 3: with somebody once just to like not feel.
- 26:08Speaker 1: Dismal.
- 26:09Speaker 2: Did you see that thing that's trending, like the practice dating?
- 26:12Speaker 2: Is that kind of what you're falling into?
- 26:13Speaker 3: I've been I've been done practice. Yeah, I'm done like it.
- 26:17Speaker 3: Training season's over, you know what I mean, Like, put
- 26:20Speaker 3: me in coach.
- 26:23Speaker 1: We're ready for the first game.
- 26:24Speaker 3: I don't know what else I have to do. I'm like,
- 26:25Speaker 3: I'm a financially independent woman. I shaved my nose off,
- 26:30Speaker 3: I'm in therapy, Like, what more do I.
- 26:31Speaker 4: Need to do?
- 26:32Speaker 1: Like, I don't get it. I'm thinking out now.
- 26:33Speaker 2: It's just I think the guys that have come along,
- 26:36Speaker 2: I don't think it especially for the women that are dating,
- 26:37Speaker 2: And I don't think it's you, which I think is guys.
- 26:39Speaker 4: I am been so inclined to agree with you, I.
- 26:41Speaker 2: Mean percent, And I think it's also We've talked about
- 26:43Speaker 2: this before, but guys are one sometimes just make horrible choices.
- 26:47Speaker 1: But two, it's this option fatigue.
- 26:50Speaker 2: It's like where they just if you're on the apps
- 26:52Speaker 2: and you're just seeing option after option after option, or
- 26:54Speaker 2: so many guys are like, I gotta keep my independence,
- 26:56Speaker 2: Like they just don't understand that maturity of yeah, you
- 26:59Speaker 2: could continue to play the game where you could win
- 27:01Speaker 2: the game by finding the person that you truly want
- 27:03Speaker 2: to be with.
- 27:03Speaker 4: I know's isn't that? What is not the fun part?
- 27:06Speaker 4: Like what do you?
- 27:06Speaker 3: I mean, I guess if you're a guy and you're
- 27:08Speaker 3: constantly getting late every weekend with somebody new, like that's fun.
- 27:11Speaker 2: But I don't know, I don't know. I think for
- 27:13Speaker 2: a lot of them, I think it's trying to escape something.
- 27:15Speaker 2: I think a lot of guys haven't done the work
- 27:16Speaker 2: that you're trying to do, I know, dive into that cut.
- 27:20Speaker 4: What work do they need to.
- 27:21Speaker 1: Do understanding what they truly want?
- 27:23Speaker 2: If they don't have an option and they just go
- 27:26Speaker 2: after a person after person after person they don't have
- 27:27Speaker 2: to look that selves in the mirror to see what
- 27:30Speaker 2: they do they need to work on. Like maybe they've
- 27:31Speaker 2: been in relationships where it's if you know that you're
- 27:34Speaker 2: constantly in the fall, or constantly messing up, or constantly
- 27:37Speaker 2: have these problems, well then you don't have to face it.
- 27:39Speaker 2: If you just hook up with somebody new every weekend,
- 27:42Speaker 2: that part never comes out. Yeah, you're just having a
- 27:43Speaker 2: casual fling. But if you get with somebody, well then
- 27:46Speaker 2: you got to take a deeper look. Then you got
- 27:48Speaker 2: to see where do I need to improve? What are
- 27:51Speaker 2: the places that I have definitely messed up in the
- 27:53Speaker 2: past for That could all be a hypothesis.
- 27:56Speaker 1: But I'm I don't know.
- 27:57Speaker 4: I think you might be spot on.
- 27:59Speaker 2: I think I'm pretty strong on that one because I've
- 28:01Speaker 2: met a lot of guys that are in that same
- 28:02Speaker 2: vein of like I just want to, you know, get
- 28:04Speaker 2: around what you're trying to escape. You're scared, and I
- 28:07Speaker 2: think in it won't one and I'll just leave it
- 28:09Speaker 2: with this. It is extremely scary to fall for someone one.
- 28:13Speaker 1: Hundred percent because you're signing up to say, look, I'm
- 28:16Speaker 1: gonna go all in, and this has the potential of
- 28:19Speaker 1: being the thing that rips my heart out. Now, I
- 28:23Speaker 1: do think it's worth it.
- 28:24Speaker 2: I think it's worth taking the step and seeing what
- 28:26Speaker 2: could happen, even if that does eventually mean you're gonna
- 28:30Speaker 2: get your heart crushed.
- 28:31Speaker 1: Hopefully, the goal is to not have that happen.
- 28:33Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 28:33Speaker 2: What I always say is that eventually it won't, but
- 28:35Speaker 2: you might have to go through a couple to then
- 28:37Speaker 2: get to the person that's not only gonna like take
- 28:40Speaker 2: care of that heart, but also help it grow even bigger.
- 28:43Speaker 3: I do think heartbreak is inevitable, though, oh one hundred percent,
- 28:47Speaker 3: even when you find that person, because at some point,
- 28:49Speaker 3: if you're with them for like twenty years, you don't
- 28:50Speaker 3: think they're gonna break your heart in some way. Over
- 28:52Speaker 3: twenty years, even if it's not, oh we're breaking up,
- 28:55Speaker 3: you don't think they're gonna disappoint you in some way
- 28:57Speaker 3: or like not live up to an expectation.
- 28:59Speaker 1: Oh. Absolutely.
- 29:00Speaker 2: What's crazy is because you care so much about that
- 29:02Speaker 2: person that with something happens, you know, yes, you're going
- 29:06Speaker 2: to be hurt, there's gonna be healing. And I do
- 29:09Speaker 2: think that's, like you said, inevitable in the years to come. Yeah,
- 29:12Speaker 2: but as you grow through that relationship. It's one of
- 29:14Speaker 2: those things that if you're both locked in, there's gonna
- 29:17Speaker 2: be chapters that are gonna try you.
- 29:19Speaker 1: And as long as you know you and.
- 29:20Speaker 2: Your partner are in it till the end, well, then
- 29:23Speaker 2: you buckle down and you work on it, no matter
- 29:25Speaker 2: how long it takes days, weeks, months, some years, but
- 29:29Speaker 2: you know that eventually you'll get back through the other side.
- 29:31Speaker 1: That's what's been so interesting. Maybe it was a movie
- 29:33Speaker 1: or a show.
- 29:34Speaker 2: I think it was the show that was talking about
- 29:37Speaker 2: those chapters in marriage where it's some tough ass years
- 29:42Speaker 2: and I said years.
- 29:43Speaker 4: Oh.
- 29:43Speaker 3: I think Michelle Obama said something about it where like
- 29:46Speaker 3: the years where your kids are really small. She's like,
- 29:48Speaker 3: she don't like brock for like ten years, and I
- 29:50Speaker 3: was like, oh, that's a long time, A long time,
- 29:52Speaker 3: a long time. This SLEEPX isone you hate or not hate,
- 29:54Speaker 3: but dislike.
- 29:55Speaker 2: Yes, to have that feeling of like, I'm reading a
- 29:59Speaker 2: book right now on intimacy and like understanding relationships because
- 30:01Speaker 2: again constantly trying to learn, constantly trying to make sure
- 30:03Speaker 2: that I'm growing in that area. Yeah, and there are
- 30:06Speaker 2: chapters that we're talking about that where there are going
- 30:08Speaker 2: to be chapters that you literally look at the person
- 30:10Speaker 2: and you despise them, and that's part of marriage.
- 30:13Speaker 1: And I'm like, wait, so that's inevitable. That's just gonna
- 30:15Speaker 1: happen no matter what I think.
- 30:16Speaker 4: So, I mean, twenty years is a really long time
- 30:18Speaker 4: with anybody.
- 30:19Speaker 1: That is a long ass time.
- 30:21Speaker 2: Like, as much as it's fun to be like together
- 30:23Speaker 2: like all the time, mm hmm, it's kind of funny
- 30:25Speaker 2: to say, like, oh, well, one day, you're going to
- 30:27Speaker 2: be so annoyed by me, but I also these little
- 30:30Speaker 2: things that I do.
- 30:30Speaker 3: I know, And I also think maybe a lot of
- 30:32Speaker 3: that has to do with kids, Like I do wonder
- 30:34Speaker 3: if there's a difference between I despise this person versus
- 30:36Speaker 3: I don't despise this person whether or not you have kids,
- 30:39Speaker 3: because I feel like that's when people start seeing their
- 30:42Speaker 3: partner as a coworker, because you literally you'll get annoyed
- 30:47Speaker 3: by things that wouldn't bother if you didn't have kids.
- 30:50Speaker 3: Like I know there are wives that are like, oh
- 30:51Speaker 3: my god, he's golfing again. That's because he's going to
- 30:53Speaker 3: be gone for nine hours and so now you're a
- 30:55Speaker 3: single mom for nine hours.
- 30:56Speaker 1: Mm hmm, which I can imagine sucks absolutely.
- 30:59Speaker 2: And that's why I do love to see from couples
- 31:01Speaker 2: of like, what are the things that you're doing that
- 31:04Speaker 2: help those moments a little make him a little easier,
- 31:07Speaker 2: because yes, of course those things are going to come up,
- 31:09Speaker 2: but how do you guys communicate?
- 31:10Speaker 1: Like what does the balance look like? Like what do
- 31:12Speaker 1: you want? And I say this selfishly because I would
- 31:15Speaker 1: like to learn as the denears go on, like what
- 31:17Speaker 1: do you want from your man that makes.
- 31:19Speaker 2: You feel like, Okay, yeah, I don't care if he
- 31:21Speaker 2: goes in golfs because he did this, this and this,
- 31:23Speaker 2: or he communicated like that and that's what kept us strong.
- 31:26Speaker 2: But I think a lot of couples miss that because
- 31:28Speaker 2: and this is what I'm learning in the book, it's
- 31:30Speaker 2: like nobody really teaches you any of that.
- 31:31Speaker 1: You kind of just go into it and then you're
- 31:34Speaker 1: just like, all right, figure it out.
- 31:35Speaker 2: Yes, you've had kids together, and you're married, and you
- 31:36Speaker 2: had a beautiful wedding and you're so in love, and
- 31:38Speaker 2: now we're gonna just throw this chapter at you. And
- 31:41Speaker 2: instead of like learning what are better practices on how
- 31:45Speaker 2: to support your partner and how to communicate, you're just like,
- 31:47Speaker 2: all right, figure it out. For a lot of couples
- 31:49Speaker 2: they figured out on the spot, which that sounds like
- 31:52Speaker 2: it sucks.
- 31:53Speaker 3: So the caman did yeah, and they're fine, look we're here.
- 31:56Speaker 1: There you go. They did a good enough job.
- 31:58Speaker 4: I don't know if they were happy, but were here.
- 32:00Speaker 2: I want to make sure that it's like, whatever I
- 32:02Speaker 2: could do to prevent at least years from being I.
- 32:05Speaker 1: Guess a lot of despise, that would be great, But
- 32:09Speaker 1: I don't know where that playbook is.
- 32:10Speaker 3: Yeah, well, I think I think you do have to
- 32:12Speaker 3: choose the right person. Like, I don't think you're I
- 32:15Speaker 3: think that I've heard dating or relationship episodes with experts
- 32:20Speaker 3: sports like, well, you can be compatible with anyone. I'm like,
- 32:22Speaker 3: I actually totally disagree with that. I think there are
- 32:25Speaker 3: people you are more compatible with than others. And I'm
- 32:27Speaker 3: not saying that that means if you're with someone and
- 32:30Speaker 3: you're like, oh, I don't know if we're compatible, like
- 32:32Speaker 3: that means you need to break up. But who you're
- 32:35Speaker 3: going to spend the rest of your life with is
- 32:36Speaker 3: the most important decision you will ever make.
- 32:38Speaker 2: Hell yeah, I mean it's one of the greatest things
- 32:41Speaker 2: that you get to go and find. But the problem
- 32:44Speaker 2: we've said this before is that if you rush it,
- 32:47Speaker 2: if you're just checking a box just because you're kind
- 32:49Speaker 2: of like each other, and you're like, well, okay, it's
- 32:51Speaker 2: kind of good. And everybody else in my life is
- 32:53Speaker 2: getting married and having kids. I guess we will.
- 32:55Speaker 3: Oh my god, I know this is the person that
- 32:58Speaker 3: will influence you more than anybody else.
- 33:00Speaker 1: And it's also the person statistically more likely to kill you.
- 33:03Speaker 4: I know, So who do you want to murder you?
- 33:05Speaker 1: How fun?
- 33:06Speaker 4: How do you think they're going to do it in
- 33:07Speaker 4: a fun and interesting way?
- 33:09Speaker 1: At least not interesting?
- 33:11Speaker 4: Break them up?
- 33:12Speaker 1: I mean, it's just wild to me to see.
- 33:14Speaker 2: And again, there's no age that really category categorizes that.
- 33:18Speaker 2: But I do I love when I could have friends
- 33:21Speaker 2: that have really thought it through, that aren't in a rush,
- 33:23Speaker 2: that we're not in a competition and they're just finding
- 33:26Speaker 2: their route and I'm finding mine.
- 33:27Speaker 1: Hell yeah, brother, good luck to you all.
- 33:29Speaker 3: All right, one more thing before we go, because I
- 33:31Speaker 3: think this would be really fun because I just did
- 33:33Speaker 3: this on my Instagram, is I think we should do
- 33:35Speaker 3: and ask me anything?
- 33:36Speaker 4: And ask me anything? Me and Scott Edition.
- 33:39Speaker 1: Oh my gosh, for like the podcast, fam I'm.
- 33:41Speaker 3: Doing this on my sub stack on Monday, and I've
- 33:44Speaker 3: gotten some really thought provoking questions. One that I really
- 33:47Speaker 3: liked was somebody asked me, what's an opinion on dating
- 33:50Speaker 3: or relationships that's changed recently? Which I don't know that
- 33:53Speaker 3: I have an answer for that, so I'm having to
- 33:55Speaker 3: think about it. But if you have any questions for
- 33:57Speaker 3: Scott and I dm us or if you're on Spotify,
- 33:59Speaker 3: you can leave us a comment on the podcast.
- 34:01Speaker 1: Should we check if we have any new comments and ratings?
- 34:04Speaker 4: Pick a good one? Pick a good one?
- 34:06Speaker 1: Do you go to Apple for that one?
- 34:08Speaker 4: No, it's Spotify.
- 34:09Speaker 1: Spotify has the actual public comments. Okay, let's see.
- 34:12Speaker 2: And anytime that you're like, wait, you know what, I
- 34:14Speaker 2: feel like giving them a five stars. I appreciate that
- 34:17Speaker 2: we get to show those stats off to the the
- 34:19Speaker 2: higher ups to see. All right, let me see. Okay,
- 34:23Speaker 2: where the hell do you go for the ratings? I
- 34:25Speaker 2: see we have five stars? But how do you go
- 34:27Speaker 2: to the comments on Spotify? You just have to click
- 34:29Speaker 2: on specific episodes. Oh we got okay, we got like
- 34:31Speaker 2: six new comments, yes last week on last week's let's
- 34:35Speaker 2: go on yours. Why are there no comments? I mean,
- 34:38Speaker 2: I see we have a ton of comments, but I
- 34:39Speaker 2: don't know where they are.
- 34:40Speaker 3: You have to click on the specific episodes and scroll down,
- 34:42Speaker 3: so like, click on an episode is if you're going
- 34:44Speaker 3: to play it and then scroll down.
- 34:46Speaker 2: Okay, could you read some because obviously I have user error?
- 34:50Speaker 4: Oh you have to click on Wait, just getting an eyelid?
- 34:52Speaker 1: Oh all right, never mind, yeah.
- 34:54Speaker 3: Wait, no, I see these all the time, so you
- 34:56Speaker 3: have to play it. Oh maybe they took down comments,
- 34:59Speaker 3: son of a gun. I think they literally took down
- 35:01Speaker 3: our comments. That's crazy.
- 35:03Speaker 1: That's wild. Okay, well then maybe it's on.
- 35:05Speaker 4: No it's not on Apple. No, it's always on. That's
- 35:09Speaker 4: so crazy. You can't leave comments anymore.
- 35:10Speaker 2: Well, let's put it to the test then if you're able,
- 35:12Speaker 2: because I wasn't able to leave a comment on ours either.
- 35:14Speaker 2: I just saw that there were comments, and there's a
- 35:16Speaker 2: couple five star ratings.
- 35:17Speaker 3: So yeah, well anyway, thank you for the ratings dm us,
- 35:19Speaker 3: and you'll ask me anything questions and if you're like
- 35:22Speaker 3: nervosa for it to be, we're not going to like
- 35:24Speaker 3: say your name. But if you're like nervous to ask
- 35:26Speaker 3: me a question, but you don't want it to know
- 35:27Speaker 3: what's coming from you.
- 35:28Speaker 4: Just damn Scott.
- 35:29Speaker 2: There you go and ice anonymous, anonymous, just like that
- 35:32Speaker 2: at Abby Murphy, at Scott Tablin and at Magic ninety
- 35:35Speaker 2: four nine.
- 35:35Speaker 1: For all of the station stuff, We'll be back tomorrow.
- 35:37Speaker 4: Bye.
