  here! In our last episode, we heard about Samson,

  a man with great strength who forgot that his

  power came from God. Today, we begin a very different
• 0:21
  kind of story. It's about a woman named Ruth,
• 0:25
  who didn't have great strength or power. but
• 0:29
  showed something even more important, faithfulness
• 0:33
  and trust in God, even when her life became very
• 0:37
  difficult. Let's hear how her story begins. There
• 0:54
  was a woman named Naomi who lived in Israel with
• 0:57
  her husband and two sons. But when a terrible
• 1:00
  famine came and there was no food, they moved
• 1:04
  to a faraway country called Moab. While they
• 1:08
  were there, Naomi's husband died. Her two sons
• 1:12
  grew up and married Moabite women. One of those
• 1:17
  women was named Ruth. But after a few years,
• 1:21
  Naomi's two sons died too. Naomi and Ruth were
• 1:25
  both very sad. Naomi decided to return to Israel,
• 1:30
  and she told her daughters -in -law to stay in
• 1:33
  Moab with their own families, where life would
• 1:36
  be easier. One of the daughters -in -law went
• 1:41
  back. But Ruth chose something very different.

  Ruth told Naomi that she would not leave her.
• 1:49
  She said she would go wherever Naomi went, stay
• 1:53
  with her, and worship Naomi's God. That meant
• 1:57
  Ruth was choosing to leave her own country, her
• 2:01
  own family, and even the gods she had grown up
• 2:05
  with. She was choosing the one true God and the
• 2:09
  harder path. So, Ruth and Naomi traveled all
• 2:13
  the way to Bethlehem in Israel. They didn't have
• 2:18
  husbands, land, or money, and they didn't know
• 2:21
  how they would live. Still, Ruth trusted God
• 2:25
  and stayed faithful. It was harvest time, so
• 2:31
  Ruth went to the fields to pick up leftover grain
• 2:34
  so that she and Naomi could eat. The field she
• 2:38
  worked in belonged to a kind man named Boaz.
• 2:42
  When Boaz heard how Ruth had chosen to stay with
• 2:46
  Naomi and follow God, he was kind to her and
• 2:49
  made sure she was safe and able to gather enough
• 2:53
  food. Ruth could have stayed in her own country
• 3:03
  where life was easier. But she chose to go with
• 3:07
  Naomi and follow God. even though she didn't
• 3:10
  know how things would turn out. Her story reminds
• 3:14
  us that faithfulness means sticking with and
• 3:17
  trusting God, even when it's hard or scary. Let's
• 3:23
  think about a few things together. Have you ever

  had to choose something that was harder, but
• 3:31
  you knew it was the right thing? What does it

  look like to trust God, even when you don't know
• 3:41
  what will happen next? How can you be kind and
• 3:47
  faithful just like Ruth was? God sees when we

  make faithful choices, and he uses them for something
• 3:59
