- 1:20Speaker 2: say there about myself. So reformed you are, we'll see.

- 1:56Speaker 2: Do you have any Hallmark news and notes to share
- 1:59Speaker 2: with the class? I have a few. Sadly, it's been
- 2:03Speaker 2: reported that the driver that killed Treat Williams in June
- 2:07Speaker 2: twenty twenty three has been charged with gross negligence. Oh no,
- 2:11Speaker 2: and a weird twist I was reading about this. Apparently
- 2:15Speaker 2: the driver and Williams knew of each other. I guess
- 2:19Speaker 2: they lived in Vermont and happened in Vermont, and there's
- 2:22Speaker 2: a small but very connected theater community there and they
- 2:27Speaker 2: both have worked there, so they knew each other, which
- 2:31Speaker 2: is kind of like weird. Ryan Costs, the driver that
- 2:34Speaker 2: allegedly turned left in front of Williams like his movie
- 2:38Speaker 2: Motorcycle Right. He faces up to fifteen years in prison
- 2:41Speaker 2: if convicted. Do we know what caused that gross negligence charge.
- 2:46Speaker 2: He just that's just what happens when you're driving and
- 2:48Speaker 2: you make a big mistake. I guess he was not
- 2:51Speaker 2: under the influence. He just turned in front of him apparently.
- 2:55Speaker 2: I guess there was This is weird too. There was
- 2:58Speaker 2: a witness who was behind him, behind the driver. H
- 3:03Speaker 2: It happens to be his partner, so like they were
- 3:06Speaker 2: going somewhere and he saw it happening. It just is
- 3:10Speaker 2: a big old mess. Yeah. It's bad. Yeah, that's heartbreaking
- 3:14Speaker 2: all around. It's yeah, it's terrible, terrible. I just sometimes
- 3:18Speaker 2: I think just accidents happened. People make mistakes. Yeah. In lighterdews,
- 3:23Speaker 2: Christmas con has announced the Hallmark stars who will be
- 3:27Speaker 2: in attendance during the fan convention taking place on December
- 3:30Speaker 2: eight through tenth in New Jersey. Mm hmm. Names included
- 3:33Speaker 2: Hallmark Pikies like Tyler Andrew Lacy, Jonathan Bennett, Paul Campbell,
- 3:37Speaker 2: Kimberly Systead, and more. They also made another announcement that
- 3:41Speaker 2: is that they will no longer be a traveling convention,
- 3:44Speaker 2: so they will stick to New Jersey. Yeah. That was
- 3:48Speaker 2: met with some disappointment from their fans. You is that
- 3:53Speaker 2: the convention that was here in Pasadena it was at
- 3:55Speaker 2: one point. Sure, that makes it harder for me to go,
- 3:59Speaker 2: But I'm not going to publicly shame a company for
- 4:02Speaker 2: making a decision that's in their best business interests. But
- 4:05Speaker 2: there were many people who were vocally like, well, that
- 4:08Speaker 2: means I'll never be there, and that people understand that
- 4:12Speaker 2: that is a risk that they knew that they were
- 4:14Speaker 2: taking that by stay in one place, they know that
- 4:18Speaker 2: there are going to be people who never travel. However,
- 4:22Speaker 2: this is a convention that sells out every single time.
- 4:25Speaker 2: I think they were comfortable making that decision. Sure, So,
- 4:29Speaker 2: I mean, of course there are fans. I probably were
- 4:33Speaker 2: vocal on what Facebook, Facebook Group, Instagram, Instagram, And that's
- 4:38Speaker 2: just where it's nobody's ever gonna be like yay, I'm
- 4:41Speaker 2: so glad it's all met with. The Internet has turned
- 4:46Speaker 2: into a place where if you're not serving my needs,
- 4:49Speaker 2: I'm gonna let you know that this doesn't work for me. Yeah,
- 4:52Speaker 2: someone posts a recipe and they're like, oh, I'm dairy free.
- 4:55Speaker 2: I can't eat that. Like I'm dairy free and I'm
- 4:57Speaker 2: not going to go on someone's cheese born recipe like,
- 5:01Speaker 2: I can't make this. Just keep scrolling right. Not everything
- 5:05Speaker 2: is for you, It's okay, I know, moving on to
- 5:12Speaker 2: correction corner. Oh gosh, I'm so embarrassed with so Kurtz.
- 5:17Speaker 2: Let's give some backstory here and last week's review of Haunted,
- 5:19Speaker 2: Harmony Mysteries, Murder and G Major, Megan and I reported
- 5:24Speaker 2: that the writer of this film was one Arthur Vandalay.
- 5:28Speaker 2: I mean it sounds legit right. It was on IMDb.
- 5:33Speaker 2: What am I supposed to do? I know, well, someone
- 5:36Speaker 2: has the jokes because Longtime Girls Gone. Hallmark listener and
- 5:39Speaker 2: co host of Hallmark Cafe Michael Killen let us know
- 5:43Speaker 2: that the IMDb credit is incorrect. Yes, a big joke.
- 5:48Speaker 2: In fact, the name Arthur Vandalai is a fictional name
- 5:51Speaker 2: made up by Seinfeld character George Costanza. The real screenwriter
- 5:56Speaker 2: of Murder in G Major is Craig Weinman. Nanina, I
- 6:01Speaker 2: don't know. Do you think someone was doing that on purpose?
- 6:05Speaker 2: Like Craig was like, I don't want the writer's credit
- 6:07Speaker 2: during a writer's stroke. I think the speculation is that
- 6:11Speaker 2: the alias was due to the writer's strike. But I
- 6:13Speaker 2: looked yesterday it was still there. And my understanding is
- 6:16Speaker 2: that everything that Hallmark has made, like Hallmark got waivers
- 6:20Speaker 2: to make a number of movies because they were willing
- 6:22Speaker 2: to meet the Writer's Guild and the SAG after demands.
- 6:27Speaker 2: So Hallmark's in compliance. But maybe Craig Wyman didn't want
- 6:31Speaker 2: the Drew Barrymore treatment, so he was like, I'm just
- 6:33Speaker 2: gonna put this alias in there for now. I don't know.
- 6:37Speaker 2: It makes me laugh, it makes me feel really stupid
- 6:39Speaker 2: with me too. As soon as I saw I had
- 6:41Speaker 2: to click out of Facebook, I was like, I can't,
- 6:43Speaker 2: I can't engage with this. I'm embarrassed. So I was like, ah, Cort,
- 6:50Speaker 2: It's not like we don't do our due diligence because
- 6:53Speaker 2: way back in the day, I don't think we put
- 6:55Speaker 2: as much effort into researching like the news and no
- 6:59Speaker 2: sec correct exactly, and so we do spend a lot
- 7:03Speaker 2: of time like putting all that, but we look at
- 7:05Speaker 2: the we look at IMDb, we look at other articles
- 7:08Speaker 2: that were written. Yeah, and Hallmark has locked down their
- 7:12Speaker 2: press releases. Yeah, we don't have any access. We don't
- 7:15Speaker 2: have access to that. So sometimes it is I do
- 7:17Speaker 2: rely on IMDb, but jokes on us, Yeah, Let's hear
- 7:21Speaker 2: a synopsis from Mystery Island. Sure Thing, Doctor Amelia Priestley,
- 7:26Speaker 2: in need of a relaxing vacation, goes to Mystery Island,
- 7:29Speaker 2: an immersive murder mystery themed resort. As the game begins,
- 7:34Speaker 2: tragedy strikes. The resort's reclusive founder is murdered. Done Dune, dull.
- 7:41Speaker 2: Let's hear some news and notes? All right? This movie
- 7:46Speaker 2: was filmed in Panama. According to an interview given by
- 7:49Speaker 2: director Nicholas Humphries, the mansion used throughout the film is
- 7:53Speaker 2: known as Villa Bonita, Panama, and apparently the Obamas have
- 7:57Speaker 2: stayed there. I saw that it was beautiful. I'm kinda
- 8:01Speaker 2: put a link in our show notes if I guess
- 8:04Speaker 2: you can rent a room there, Yeah, but you rent
- 8:08Speaker 2: the entire villa. Yeah, you gotta call for rates. So
- 8:10Speaker 2: it's funny. It's not just it's not on Hotel Stom.
- 8:13Speaker 2: You can't just bookot Nope. Mystery Island was written by
- 8:18Speaker 2: John Christian Plumber, who has written the Mystery one on
- 8:21Speaker 2: one series Curious Cater Dying for Chocolate and Grilling Season,
- 8:24Speaker 2: as well as a Francesca Quinn p i Elizabeth Henstridge Sarzez,
- 8:35Speaker 2: doctor Emilia Priestley. You know Priestley's close to my heart. Yea.
- 8:40Speaker 2: She was in twenty nineteen's Christmas at the Plaza. Megan's
- 8:43Speaker 2: Lee's favorite movie ever, And I thought you hated that movie.
- 8:48Speaker 2: I don't. I don't love it, but it's not my
- 8:51Speaker 2: least favorite. There are worse. I feel like you kind
- 8:54Speaker 2: of like every time you hear it. Yeah, I don't
- 8:57Speaker 2: know what it is about that movie. My husband did
- 8:59Speaker 2: watch the other day and I was like, maybe I've
- 9:02Speaker 2: been too hard on it, but it does definitely have
- 9:04Speaker 2: one of those like she's in a relationship the entire
- 9:06Speaker 2: time and then runs away to be with Ryan Pavey
- 9:08Speaker 2: at the end. Your least favorite storyline, my least favorite storyline. Yes,
- 9:12Speaker 2: So she was in Christmas at the Plaza as well
- 9:14Speaker 2: as one hundred and thirty six episodes as Jima Simmons
- 9:18Speaker 2: on Agents of Shield And actually I've never I'm not
- 9:22Speaker 2: familiar with that show. It's a Marvel adjacent That's why
- 9:26Speaker 2: I'm not familiar with it. And the title is Agents
- 9:30Speaker 2: of s Hi ray Ld, but they call it Agents
- 9:34Speaker 2: of Chreldry. So I have another note about Elizabeth Henstridge.
- 9:38Speaker 2: Her partner is a man named Zachary berr Abel. Do
- 9:42Speaker 2: you know who that is?
- 9:43Speaker 1: Well?
- 9:43Speaker 2: I saw an Instagram post of hers featuring him, and
- 9:47Speaker 2: I thought he looks familiar, so I clicked through. He
- 9:50Speaker 2: is big on TikTok. He's like a travel hacker, so
- 9:53Speaker 2: he posts all these like how to effectively use your
- 9:57Speaker 2: points and get me the point sky. He's not the
- 10:00Speaker 2: points guy, but I think if you've spent any time
- 10:03Speaker 2: on TikTok and you've ever been served, like we were
- 10:06Speaker 2: able to fly Emirates first class by only spending twelve dollars,
- 10:10Speaker 2: and here's how we do it. I'm making him sound goofy.
- 10:12Speaker 2: He's not like he's full of information, but I just
- 10:14Speaker 2: it was a funny world's colliding moment for Charlie Weber
- 10:19Speaker 2: plays Jason Trent. He has forty one acting credits on IMDb.
- 10:23Speaker 2: Who knows if they're all true, including last year's Christmas
- 10:26Speaker 2: Bedtime Stories and ninety episodes of How to Get Away
- 10:29Speaker 2: with Murder. It's a show I never watched. It's a
- 10:32Speaker 2: Shonda Rhime show. Mm it' Kezie Burrows place friend and
- 10:36Speaker 2: five percent investor Lady Jane Alcott She has thirty nine
- 10:39Speaker 2: acting credits, but this does appear to be her first
- 10:41Speaker 2: movie for Hallmark. What's your first impression of Mystery Island?
- 10:46Speaker 2: There are some really not so great reviews of Mystery
- 10:49Speaker 2: Island on IMDb, and I'm going to disagree. We did
- 10:55Speaker 2: discuss this movie at all. I can't wait to talk
- 10:58Speaker 2: about it. My first impresion is I just need to
- 11:01Speaker 2: give up on trying to solve mysteries. Were you completely wrong?
- 11:07Speaker 2: I just had no guesses because as we as you're
- 11:09Speaker 2: watching a movie and as they're exploring suspects, you know,
- 11:12Speaker 2: it's never the person they're exploring. So I'm like, well,
- 11:15Speaker 2: I've got no other ideas. And it's not the writing,
- 11:18Speaker 2: because when you come back to the end, you're like, oh,
- 11:20Speaker 2: they did lay hints, you know, like we've got the
- 11:24Speaker 2: remote control for the drone, which I had forgotten about
- 11:26Speaker 2: until they brought it back in, and oh he was sick.
- 11:29Speaker 2: All of these things come back in. But I wasn't
- 11:31Speaker 2: putting those pieces together. I'm not good at it. I'm
- 11:34Speaker 2: not good at it. I need to stop. Did you
- 11:37Speaker 2: even see like the quick flash as they're sitting down
- 11:41Speaker 2: for dinner, there was a one waiter with a terrible
- 11:43Speaker 2: beard standing there. It was millisecond. I honestly didn't until
- 11:47Speaker 2: they when they showed it at the end, I was like,
- 11:49Speaker 2: oh that, like this tickling my brain, like I vaguely
- 11:52Speaker 2: remember it, but I didn't even bump on that person
- 11:55Speaker 2: in the original scene. And then they show it to
- 11:58Speaker 2: you again because when they show him murdered, right, they
- 12:02Speaker 2: like peel off the beards and like, this nose looks
- 12:04Speaker 2: like it could be fake. And I literally have in
- 12:07Speaker 2: my digity that since we're there, I wrote his.
- 12:09Speaker 4: Nose might be fake, but you could see the full
- 12:11Speaker 4: outline of it in that moment, and I, okay, maybe,
- 12:17Speaker 4: and I took I just want to say that after
- 12:20Speaker 4: our last mystery, I was like, I need to focus
- 12:22Speaker 4: because there's so many characters, right, and I took so
- 12:24Speaker 4: many notes about who those people were, but I completely
- 12:27Speaker 4: missed that waiter at the beginning.
- 12:30Speaker 2: So anyway, let's move on to what we liked. Okay,
- 12:33Speaker 2: I thought this story I did was quite intriguing. So
- 12:39Speaker 2: there's this all encompassing like murder mystery resort. It sounds
- 12:42Speaker 2: pretty cool, yes, And I was like, would I ever
- 12:45Speaker 2: go if I had guaranteed that I was gonna be
- 12:47Speaker 2: safe there because obviously I don't want to, Like, I
- 12:50Speaker 2: don't want to track down a real life murderer. Sure,
- 12:54Speaker 2: but can I track down a pretend one and I
- 12:57Speaker 2: know that I'm in no harm? Yeah? That sounds fun.
- 13:00Speaker 2: I can imagine a place would be like this if
- 13:03Speaker 2: it was real, would be popular. Sure if you had
- 13:08Speaker 2: ten thousand dollars a night to spend. Did you hear
- 13:10Speaker 2: them say like it's a ten thousand dollars a night
- 13:13Speaker 2: like game right? I was like, that's ridiculous. Anyway, I
- 13:17Speaker 2: liked how the plot takes this like unexpected turn. Call
- 13:22Speaker 2: me naive, but I I don't really know what to expect.
- 13:26Speaker 2: I was like, I know they're going to this this
- 13:29Speaker 2: place to play this game, Like what's going to happen?
- 13:32Speaker 2: I assume that, like the whole beginning scene where what's
- 13:37Speaker 2: her name? Oh yeah, Amiliare is with that murder and
- 13:41Speaker 2: he like threatens her or whatever. I kind of thought
- 13:43Speaker 2: that was going to come into play. Yes, So I
- 13:46Speaker 2: didn't even like see that think that there would be
- 13:49Speaker 2: like a real murder there. Anyway, I like the twist.
- 13:53Speaker 2: I liked it. I like I like the whole concept
- 13:55Speaker 2: was cool. To me. Yeah, I was trying to decide
- 13:59Speaker 2: as I was watching our are they gonna is it
- 14:01Speaker 2: just gonna be a murder mystery play game or is
- 14:05Speaker 2: there going to be an actual murder. I allowed for
- 14:08Speaker 2: both being a possibility, but I really liked this goofy
- 14:13Speaker 2: clue like setup, and I thought the characters leaned in
- 14:17Speaker 2: hard to their characters, and that's kind of the point
- 14:20Speaker 2: of a movie, like they're supposed to be playing very
- 14:22Speaker 2: specific roles, right, And like you said, there were some
- 14:26Speaker 2: negative reviews, and I think people expected this to be
- 14:31Speaker 2: more serious than it was, and I think it leaned
- 14:34Speaker 2: into the fact that it was very unserious and very silly.
- 14:37Speaker 2: And I really enjoyed it and was surprised that so
- 14:40Speaker 2: many of the reviews were so negative. Me too. There's
- 14:42Speaker 2: not a single at the moment of this recording positive
- 14:45Speaker 2: review on imdbas that's awful, nothing over five out of ten. Wow.
- 14:50Speaker 2: So I expected it for I expected for it to
- 14:54Speaker 2: be a little tongue in cheek. It is a little
- 14:56Speaker 2: bit of a Hallmark departure too, in terms of their
- 14:59Speaker 2: classes mystery formula, and I like that we don't just
- 15:04Speaker 2: have the standard like non detective solving crimes element. Yes,
- 15:07Speaker 2: because sure the doctor isn't specifically a detective, but I
- 15:12Speaker 2: felt like her actual expertise made sense that she was
- 15:17Speaker 2: participating in solving the crime here. It wasn't just like
- 15:21Speaker 2: I'm a caterer who there happened to be a murder
- 15:23Speaker 2: in my vicinity, and I'm gonna make a murder board,
- 15:26Speaker 2: right right, Goldie. Yes, Yes, I loved how they set
- 15:31Speaker 2: it up for future potential episodes. It makes sense They're
- 15:35Speaker 2: not gonna just do the same thing over again. Now
- 15:37Speaker 2: we have the doctor and the investigator collaborating, consulting on
- 15:43Speaker 2: like future stories, and I mean sure there's probably gonna
- 15:47Speaker 2: I mean, really, is there gonna be a murder? And
- 15:49Speaker 2: every single how's that's I wondered that are because I said,
- 15:54Speaker 2: are they always going to have a real murder? Because
- 15:56Speaker 2: that could end up being pretty bad for business. Yes, seriously,
- 15:59Speaker 2: you're like, I'm not going to play two thousand dollars
- 16:01Speaker 2: a night, Anna might get killed. Nope. I liked Elizabeth
- 16:05Speaker 2: Heinstridge as Doctor Priestley. I loved Kezia Burrows, as did you.
- 16:10Speaker 2: I thought she was like cooky, like enough cookiness, eccentric,
- 16:15Speaker 2: like she was all in and like solving the mysteries,
- 16:18Speaker 2: Like you could believe her as this super wealthy woman
- 16:22Speaker 2: of leisure, uh huh, who is fully committed to being
- 16:26Speaker 2: able to finally solve one of these westeries. And I
- 16:29Speaker 2: thought she wore really cute dresses too. Moving on to
- 16:33Speaker 2: what she wished for, girlfriend needs some meta stalking through
- 16:37Speaker 2: the jungle clothes. Okay, I know there's a lot of
- 16:40Speaker 2: commentary about her, like platform espratrials that she wore right
- 16:46Speaker 2: in her bright shirt. Now, granted she didn't plan to
- 16:48Speaker 2: be sneaking after people, but there was multiple running through
- 16:52Speaker 2: the jungle moments, and you'd think after the first one
- 16:54Speaker 2: she'd be like, I need some better footwear. And there's
- 16:57Speaker 2: no way that Carlos is going to run past her
- 17:02Speaker 2: and not see her bright blue shirt through the leaves.
- 17:05Speaker 2: I hear you. I don't think it was actually Carlos
- 17:08Speaker 2: who ran past her. It was Riley who ran past her.
- 17:12Speaker 2: The travel website writer. I hear you, I hear you
- 17:15Speaker 2: all of that. But she only brought what she brought.
- 17:18Speaker 2: I know, I know. The funny thing was like I'm
- 17:22Speaker 2: imagining myself in this role, like trying to run through
- 17:25Speaker 2: the jungle in these shoes. There's no way, like she no,
- 17:29Speaker 2: I had a broken ankle one hundred percent, I would
- 17:32Speaker 2: have fallen down a million times. There's no way I'm
- 17:35Speaker 2: out running. But I did tell you, like, do you
- 17:38Speaker 2: ever have like those dreams or thoughts where you're like
- 17:41Speaker 2: so close to getting something? She's like, help me. I'm like,
- 17:45Speaker 2: she's so close, Like it felt very real to me.
- 17:49Speaker 2: I think I just have a recurring nightmare about that
- 17:52Speaker 2: kind of stuff, like you're running, you can't get there
- 17:54Speaker 2: fast enough. Yes, my only other wish. I kind of
- 17:59Speaker 2: wanted can the opening murder to feature in a little
- 18:02Speaker 2: bit more. There is a call back to him where
- 18:05Speaker 2: she talks about how like he's not being made to
- 18:08Speaker 2: feel small, like this isn't the right fit because he's
- 18:11Speaker 2: not being made to feel small. It doesn't work out.
- 18:14Speaker 2: Maybe that's enough, but I was so intrigued by the
- 18:18Speaker 2: intensity of his I have people on the outside, you know,
- 18:21Speaker 2: you and your family and I you know. She was like,
- 18:26Speaker 2: maybe I need to step away from police work. And
- 18:27Speaker 2: then ultimately she's like, no, I don't need to at
- 18:29Speaker 2: the end, and I thought, well, follow that through more,
- 18:32Speaker 2: like is that just a threat, right? And maybe that's
- 18:35Speaker 2: something we'll see in future movies. But I kind of
- 18:37Speaker 2: wanted that to be like looming over her head a
- 18:39Speaker 2: little bit more. Agree. Yeah, I hope that wasn't just
- 18:42Speaker 2: like a throwaway scene just to get her from working
- 18:46Speaker 2: to vacation. Yes, okay, here are a couple of my wishes. One,
- 18:51Speaker 2: there are so many characters I need in my own
- 18:54Speaker 2: murder board. Yes, I was writing them down, but I
- 18:57Speaker 2: did love that each room of their hotel a murder
- 19:00Speaker 2: board for them. So funny, It was really funny. Yeah,
- 19:04Speaker 2: there were just a lot of characters and a lot
- 19:06Speaker 2: of names that I did not get, and so when
- 19:09Speaker 2: they were talking about like who in this, and then
- 19:11Speaker 2: that's when I like tap out a little bit. Well,
- 19:13Speaker 2: So we discussed this during our last mystery movie, Murder
- 19:17Speaker 2: and g Major, and I went in ready to take
- 19:20Speaker 2: notes because I knew there would be a lot of characters,
- 19:23Speaker 2: and so I have them all here. I have like
- 19:25Speaker 2: John murtog iq and eighty son of a mystery writer,
- 19:27Speaker 2: Carlos Delfwego and Morgan Medicteddents of Dogford Phoenix Green on
- 19:31Speaker 2: her workout videos. I mean, I had I had to
- 19:34Speaker 2: take notes. You were gonna solve it Huh. It was
- 19:37Speaker 2: less that I wanted to solve it and more, like
- 19:39Speaker 2: you said, as they start referencing these people and they're
- 19:42Speaker 2: off screen, I needed to know who they are because
- 19:44Speaker 2: I'm not good with the names. If I meet you,
- 19:46Speaker 2: I'm going to immediately forget your name, right. And it's
- 19:48Speaker 2: not because I don't care, It's because my brain does
- 19:51Speaker 2: not focus long enough for me to commit that to memory.
- 19:55Speaker 2: So Sam goes for movies, I immediately forget the characters' names.
- 19:59Speaker 2: I had to write them down. Who the hell's Riley Good?
- 20:01Speaker 2: I'm glad I wasn't alone in that. Did it also
- 20:03Speaker 2: get a little muddy for you in terms of the
- 20:05Speaker 2: who done it?
- 20:06Speaker 3: Like?
- 20:06Speaker 2: There was a lot of like motives and pointing fingers
- 20:08Speaker 2: at other people within their like group. I was like,
- 20:12Speaker 2: what what? And that's I think where I need to
- 20:15Speaker 2: let it go, because, like I said, I need to
- 20:17Speaker 2: stop trying to solve the mystery, just go along for
- 20:19Speaker 2: the ride. Yeah, I feel like they're purposely trying to
- 20:21Speaker 2: do that to like a thousand percent one more thing.
- 20:25Speaker 2: I You know me, I've watched a ton of murdery things,
- 20:29Speaker 2: police procedurals, all kinds of stuff like that. And here
- 20:33Speaker 2: are my thoughts. Why would the detectives keep all the
- 20:37Speaker 2: suspects in the mansion. Why wouldn't they be rounded up
- 20:42Speaker 2: and taken to like the police station, separated? Questioned, there's
- 20:48Speaker 2: too much like opportunity for like people to talk, and
- 20:52Speaker 2: like I'm doing this with my you know what I mean, Like, yeah,
- 20:58Speaker 2: let's get our story straight. Let's get our story. She
- 21:00Speaker 2: let's corroborate like where we were at. I don't know.
- 21:05Speaker 2: But can you do that if someone's not actually a suspect,
- 21:08Speaker 2: if they were just a witness? How long? I get that?
- 21:11Speaker 2: But how long can you keep them? And I don't
- 21:14Speaker 2: believe for a hot second that doctor Priestley would have
- 21:18Speaker 2: been privy to any of the case details. Sure, he's
- 21:22Speaker 2: telling her way too much. Also, she's like stalking around
- 21:25Speaker 2: listening to conversations and like how is all that stuff happening?
- 21:29Speaker 2: Like it just was like a mess. Finally, and I
- 21:32Speaker 2: feel good because there are some commenters on IMDb who
- 21:37Speaker 2: also saw this, but a lot of ungloved collection of evidence.
- 21:40Speaker 2: Oh yes, they find that envelope that has the second
- 21:44Speaker 2: record in it, and he just takes the envelope out
- 21:47Speaker 2: and pulls the record out and I thought, yeah, what, Yeah,
- 21:50Speaker 2: it just you know, but like I've said before, you
- 21:53Speaker 2: just kind of have to let those like details slide. Sure,
- 21:56Speaker 2: and that's probably a director choice. I'm guessing like there's
- 22:00Speaker 2: not enough time to set up for her to put
- 22:02Speaker 2: the gloves on or whatever. Yeah. Is that a choice
- 22:06Speaker 2: or is it an oversight? I don't know. I just
- 22:08Speaker 2: feel like someone should have paid attention to those details. Yes,
- 22:14Speaker 2: if you really want to sell it to me, like
- 22:16Speaker 2: at least grab a Kleenex and take it out with
- 22:17Speaker 2: a clean Yeah, exactly, all right, Moving on to did
- 22:21Speaker 2: just see that? I have a couple Actually, my biggest
- 22:26Speaker 2: one was the nose, just the nose. It's so fas
- 22:29Speaker 2: just such a funny line. This nose might be fake.
- 22:32Speaker 2: They're like, rip it off. It's always like good on
- 22:35Speaker 2: that actor to lay there and not flinch at all?
- 22:39Speaker 2: Is this like plastic? They pulled the beard and the
- 22:43Speaker 2: nose off, and he's like, oh that hurts. I would
- 22:47Speaker 2: love to see the take where he's like, oh, you
- 22:52Speaker 2: got a nose hair with that one. Okay. So Emilia
- 22:57Speaker 2: and Jane arrived to the island and they are carrying
- 23:02Speaker 2: their rolling suitcases. Now the only reason I noticed that
- 23:05Speaker 2: they're rolling suitcases because they see Detective Trent. Yeah, they
- 23:09Speaker 2: talk to him like on the dock or whatever, and
- 23:11Speaker 2: they're standing there and the handles are extended while they're
- 23:14Speaker 2: standing there, and then the next thing they start to
- 23:17Speaker 2: go again and they're like they're like literally holding them
- 23:20Speaker 2: up high so they're in the frame almost oh weird. Yeah,
- 23:24Speaker 2: And I was like, why can't they roll them? Maybe
- 23:26Speaker 2: they made too much noise. Oh, I bet that probably
- 23:30Speaker 2: was it. And you know they're empty, yeah, and they're
- 23:33Speaker 2: like over the dock, Okay, thanks, but they didn't want
- 23:38Speaker 2: to have to go back in eighty R that scene,
- 23:40Speaker 2: so they're like, ladies carry your suitcases. That's great insight, Megan.
- 23:44Speaker 2: After the group's first dinner, they've all gathered in like
- 23:47Speaker 2: a lounge or a bar or something like in the
- 23:50Speaker 2: on the property right, and people are kind of peeling
- 23:53Speaker 2: off at Amelia is sitting there. She's like watching people
- 23:55Speaker 2: like leave and do this thing. And you hear soon
- 23:58Speaker 2: go we'll b RB And I was like, did it
- 24:01Speaker 2: say BRB? So I rewound it because I watched in
- 24:04Speaker 2: subtitles me too, it did say BRB will b RB?
- 24:08Speaker 2: Who talks like that?
- 24:10Speaker 3: I do out loud, yes, maybe not like in a group.
- 24:18Speaker 2: Full of adults, but like to your husband, you'd be like, BRB, Yeah,
- 24:23Speaker 2: that's funny, Yeah, because I'm casual. Do you say lol
- 24:28Speaker 2: out loud? Yes, I have the vocabulary of a teenager.
- 24:38Speaker 2: Teenagers don't say lol anymore, only fifty year old women.
- 24:43Speaker 2: Oh boy? Okay. Last one, Detective Jason and Amelia go
- 24:48Speaker 2: on a walk on the beach. When they leave the mansion,
- 24:53Speaker 2: it is dark out is dark. I can see like
- 24:57Speaker 2: the skyline or whatever isn't the right, But then they're
- 25:01Speaker 2: walking on the beach and it's it's only like just
- 25:05Speaker 2: dusk at this point, like it was dark. Then they
- 25:08Speaker 2: go for a walk and it's not dark anymore. Obviously
- 25:10Speaker 2: they needed to shoot the scene so they could see
- 25:13Speaker 2: them on the beach. I know exactly what scene you're
- 25:16Speaker 2: talking about, and I think that was sunrise based on
- 25:19Speaker 2: the light, like really, yeah, it was kind of like
- 25:22Speaker 2: a bluish lighting, yes, And I was like, I think
- 25:25Speaker 2: that's sunrise, Like I think this is happening as the
- 25:28Speaker 2: sun is about to come up early in the morning.
- 25:31Speaker 2: What was funny too, is this is the same scene
- 25:33Speaker 2: where they find Lucia Lucia in the dead in the water, yes,
- 25:38Speaker 2: Kicker and roller over, Yes, Okay, you could tell like
- 25:43Speaker 2: they had like bright spotlights out could you tell that?
- 25:46Speaker 4: No?
- 25:46Speaker 2: I didn't artificial lighting like of the scene. No, it's
- 25:50Speaker 2: just you know, these are just things I noticed. Yes,
- 25:53Speaker 2: ma'am hit me with a rating. I gave it four stars, oh,
- 25:58Speaker 2: three point seven five. I like this idea for a mystery.
- 26:02Speaker 2: I'm interested to watch more. Me too. Some of the
- 26:06Speaker 2: negative comments were like, the acting was bad, but who
- 26:09Speaker 2: was bad? I didn't think the acting was bad. I
- 26:12Speaker 2: think to me, it felt like people the actors were
- 26:17Speaker 2: leaning in on their characters in a way that really
- 26:19Speaker 2: made sense for a movie like this, because what they
- 26:23Speaker 2: are are people going to play a murder mystery game,
- 26:26Speaker 2: but what they become are witnesses to a murder. And
- 26:29Speaker 2: I feel like when you look at movies like Clue
- 26:33Speaker 2: or Knives Out, all of the people there are playing
- 26:36Speaker 2: very specific roles. It's not full of housewives. It's full
- 26:39Speaker 2: of very specific people. And these people leaned in hard
- 26:45Speaker 2: for a reason, because that's the kind of movie this is. Yeah,
- 26:47Speaker 2: I agree, I liked it. I liked it too. If
- 26:51Speaker 2: mysteries are your favorite genre on Homark. Guess what, you
