- 0:01Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Hi everyone, it's Justin here, Voices for Voices.
- 0:04Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Thank you so much for joining us, whether you're watching, listening here in the United States or across the world.
- 0:10Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: This is your first show, or if you've been with us since the beginning, thank you so much.
- 0:15Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: This is your first show, or you've been with us from the beginning.
- 0:19Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Welcome back and welcome to the Voices for Voices podcast and TV show.
- 0:26Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh, we have over 540 episodes in our catalog.
- 0:29Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So be sure to go and uh check back through our catalog as I'm quite sure that there are uh many episodes that uh will be of interest to you and yours.
- 0:43Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh just a uh you know great day to be alive.
- 0:48Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh you know, we have these days where uh yeah, we look at what's our purpose, and we you know we talk about this from time to time.
- 1:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You know, what what are we here on earth to do?
- 1:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: What are what are we uh what are why why am I still here?
- 1:09Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Why are you here?
- 1:10Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Why are we here on earth?
- 1:14Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um, and so I have a um uh a belief, and again, this is just me, doesn't have to be you, uh, that the higher power, God Jesus, for me has reasoned for me to be here.
- 1:34Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Well, I'd like to know, and while I'd like to think I have an idea, I have no clue.
- 1:41Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh I I just go one day at a time, and I think that's really all any of us can do is to take life one day at a time.
- 1:54Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh one day we could be in the hospital with a condition we never knew we had.
- 2:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh, we could be having emergency surgery, uh, or or we could be uh playing in the the the Super Bowl and getting uh in American football, uh winning touchdown or winning field goal, winning safety.
- 2:20Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh and so from day to day, what we'd like to think we know, um, and and I think the way I I have approached it now looking at this kind of in a deep level here on this particular episode, the the more opportunities, whatever they may be, they don't always have to be money.
- 2:47Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh opportunities present themselves over and over again.
- 2:55Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I'll give you an example right now, film on this podcast episode.
- 3:01Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So once we're done filming, all the editing that goes on, getting all the links, uh the the uh the descriptions, the uh title of the episode, get getting it out on social media, and all those.
- 3:22Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And uh you know, I'd like to think that there's a reason why those things happen.
- 3:31Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Now it could be the opposite, where we're filming the show, the electricity goes out, and that's tied to the internet connection for us.
- 3:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Well, might not be able to finish the show, so we might not be able to get to those additional steps to as I was mentioning, you know, editing and all that.
- 4:04Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so I take a might take a look at that as okay, well, there's a reason why this show went forward, why it was able to be shared with people all across the world.
- 4:23Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And and so maybe that has something to do with why I'm here, why I'm still here.
- 4:34Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Some people look at it like, oh yeah, you're just on a show, and uh yeah, we are.
- 4:39Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're just on a show.
- 4:41Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We're not uh you know, I haven't cured anything, uh, I haven't cured any diseases, I haven't, you know, I haven't done what will be looked at as extraordinary, but for some reason we've made it to over 543 episodes, so this is five hundred and forty-four.
- 5:10Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So for some reason, whether I like to understand it or not, we've we're doing it and we've done it.
- 5:23Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You might ask, well, what happens, you know, like you said, if the electricity goes out, and well, we can't do anything about that.
- 5:31Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um, you know, it can always go to the library, so we do that sometimes, depending on the show, depending on the guy.
- 5:40Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: You know, we we've gone to the live, we go to the library, uh, especially having having Lucy as our uh as our pet here.
- 5:52Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh she uh and you've probably been hearing signs and seeing things flash in the front of the screen, saying, Am I seeing something?
- 5:58Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: No, that's her and her toy.
- 6:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: She can tell when we're filming, and uh that's a that's okay with me.
- 6:06Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um but sometimes the show just means that well, we'll we'll just go to the library and and film it in in one of the pods that uh the library has.
- 6:23Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So then we do that.
- 6:24Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We just make plans to do that, and then we do it.
- 6:27Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Now, could their internet, could their electricity go out?
- 6:30Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Absolutely.
- 6:32Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Coming from a family of my dad, that's one of the things that uh that's one of the big things he did.
- 6:40Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh, a lot of the time, I mean, he had work obviously throughout the day, but there are a lot of times at night where they're gonna sometimes be in an accident, uh, weather, knocking down a telephone pole, knocking electricity out of homes for hours, sometimes days.
- 7:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um, and so it's his his uh you know, part of what he did is uh getting uh the proper materials onto the trucks, so the individuals that are driving the trucks that we see out driving in the road uh can go up in those bucket trucks and and and fix.
- 7:25Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And uh and so in that case, well, that might that might knock out the power of my house, it might knock out the power of the library, might knock off knock out the power of a lot of things.
- 7:41Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so you you might ask, and what do you do?
- 7:45Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Well, we do the best we can.
- 7:48Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Maybe maybe the show we had planned, maybe there was a reason why.
- 7:55Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I not that I know the reason why, uh, but maybe there's you know this higher power reason why this particular show wasn't filmed.
- 8:06Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And then sometimes we have shows that we do film and different circumstances uh come up, and we may not we may not drop those episodes, and so that's an option as well.
- 8:26Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh and so what you say, what do you do?
- 8:29Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Well, we wait until the circumstances present themselves so that when the time is right, we drop the episodes.
- 8:42Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh but I know a lot of this is very, very I don't want to say simple-minded, but it just gives you like a peek back behind the curtain of our show, how we do it, um you know, preparation is is huge.
- 9:08Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I'd say that's one of the big benefits of having the mind and the mental challenges that I I do have because I'm able to uh I'm like a photographic rememberer.
- 9:28Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I don't know if remember is a word, but I I I remember by photographic memory, and so I I I do prepare for all the shows at some level, some more than others.
- 9:48Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: If it's a guess I've had very little experience understanding researching, then I'm gonna do more of that hands-on research.
- 10:01Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh otherwise, you know, we have conversations.
- 10:06Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like we're not in we're not in the business of trying to you know do these uh gotcha questions to try to have as many clicks as possible.
- 10:17Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Yeah, would we like to have you know all eight billion in the world, which we know that's not possible because there's children in that, and children shouldn't be on the computer um at certain ages, but anyways, that's just my personal opinion.
- 10:33Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh you know, would I like uh every single person in the world?
- 10:38Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Yeah, I would.
- 10:39Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um, but I also want to make sure that the content's reaching the right people.
- 10:46Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I I would prefer our content reaching the right people instead of just a lot of people in the episode and and the show and the organization and uh voices for voices doesn't doesn't really resonate as much.
- 11:08Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh and that would be something as far as you know planning.
- 11:16Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We can only do so much.
- 11:18Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I don't own the internet, I don't own uh all that stuff.
- 11:25Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like I don't have uh you know the controls at my disposal.
- 11:32Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh we you know, we try the best we can.
- 11:35Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh, but that's all we can do.
- 11:37Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so don't feel bad.
- 11:41Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like, there's only so many, so many things we can do like as human beings.
- 11:47Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so if we're getting opportunities to keep presenting themselves, whether they're paid or whether they're not, and they could turn into being a paid, um, paid job, paid career, there I I would say take a take an extra look at those um those particular um things, those particular experiences, but per just just take an extra look at that because there's a reason why.
- 12:28Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And we might not know it.
- 12:30Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like I I don't I mean, if somebody asked me 10 years ago if I would believe that we would have now with this this particular episode, once this drops, uh, 544 episodes, I would have said, I don't know, I would like to, but that's a lot of shows, that's a lot of time, not just in front of the camera, but all the things that we talk about behind the camera that nobody sees, they just see or hear the show and go, oh, that's easy.
- 13:09Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Well, okay.
- 13:11Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so I always I always try to challenge people and say, well, if it's easy, then go ahead and do it yourself.
- 13:18Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I'm not competing with anybody except myself.
- 13:23Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I mean, that's what it all comes down to.
- 13:27Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Is like, how how can I, Justin, make the shows that we do and the content we produce, how do we make it so it's beneficial, not just the one person or one group of people, but as broad as possible so it resonates with more people.
- 13:58Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So this show goes through, then we're gonna have 544 episodes.
- 14:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: If it doesn't, we're gonna be at 543, and we're gonna give the show another shot.
- 14:10Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh and see see how that one goes.
- 14:15Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But as of right now, filming-wise, uh it's looking and feeling like like this one's gonna this one's gonna make it, but I don't know.
- 14:29Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Again, there's so many things out of my control, out of ours as humans, uh, out of our control, that I I can't change that.
- 14:43Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like I said, the electricity goes out for five days, and that includes the library and family, and well, I'm gonna have to wait five days.
- 14:54Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I I mean that's just that's just the fact of the matter there, and I can go get mad and get upset, but it was nothing that I could impact.
- 15:05Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like I can't impact whether electricity continues to be flowing.
- 15:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I can just try my best and put the show and the filming in the best conditions possible where we have succeeded in film shows for a uh a long time.
- 15:33Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so that's going to different different areas, whether it's remote, whether it's uh in person, whether it's uh again, yeah, in person, you know, traveling uh to uh to to do to do a show.
- 15:51Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um, what happens if I'm planning to travel to a show to meet with a guest?
- 16:01Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And what if for some reason all the airplanes are grounded and they aren't gonna be able to get me on a new flight for two days and not interviews tomorrow for the show?
- 16:21Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: What can I do about it?
- 16:23Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Not a whole lot.
- 16:28Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I'd have to be able to get to a car, have the money to be able to pay for gas and and do it that way, and and so there's been a lot of times where I've had to adapt to um adapt to different conditions, different environments.
- 16:59Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh and all of our shows are very important, all of them.
- 17:07Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I mean, you might think, well, you've had this guest and that guest, and then that's it.
- 17:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Well, our show's more important than just one guest or two guests or anything like that.
- 17:19Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's the full embodiment of all of our content.
- 17:27Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So I've been throwing a lot of curveballs in my lifetime, and I have been able to not all the time, I don't know, maybe fifty, sixty percent of the time, sometimes seventy, been able to adapt to a situation that I couldn't I couldn't do myself, meaning I couldn't control what was happening, but I found a way to do it.
- 18:10Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And sometimes we're gonna be able to do it, sometimes we're not.
- 18:14Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Sometimes we're gonna not get that interview, we're not gonna have that show, we're not gonna be able to do the thing that we want to do.
- 18:23Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But then there's gonna be times that we are and what I and I as as I'm I'm kind of talking here that can deter a lot of people.
- 18:40Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It can deter, it probably deterred me at at some some level, some point in time.
- 18:48Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Many points in time, probably.
- 18:51Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Where I'm like, oh, well, it's not meant to be, so I'm just gonna not do it.
- 18:56Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Just like the gym.
- 18:59Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Again, we haven't made it right, 15 minutes or so without some other gym.
- 19:04Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh so I was planning to go to the gym today, and then I ended up taking a quick nap.
- 19:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Well, the quick nap got it close to um got the time close to, well, I had to leave basically within about five minutes of waking up to go to the gym to get the workout in.
- 19:32Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um and so I had that again, I had that easy, lazy thing of all right, well, I'm just gonna keep sleeping.
- 19:43Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Or I'm not even not even I'm gonna keep sleeping, just uh, I'll go to the gym tomorrow.
- 19:50Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But I picked myself up and I said to myself, Justin, we're gonna go to the gym.
- 19:57Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so that's what we did.
- 19:58Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We went to the gym.
- 20:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It wasn't the easiest thing to do.
- 20:07Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I had the strength to do it once I got there.
- 20:11Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It was just that in you know, in the distance, the gym didn't get any further from where we reside.
- 20:23Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So, you know, nothing the gym wasn't gonna be like an extra 25 minutes than what it you usually is.
- 20:32Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So I couldn't use that as an excuse.
- 20:36Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh the only excuse was uh just I'll go tomorrow.
- 20:44Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But there was just something inside me that was just like, no, like we're let's go, let's do it.
- 20:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Take five minutes to get there, we get there, we do whatever workout.
- 20:59Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And I'll give you a quick example.
- 21:01Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So one of the um this has nothing to do with how much weight we lift, because I don't lift that much weight.
- 21:08Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I'm look I'm looking more to for the tone than you know the huge muscles and all that.
- 21:16Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um the bench press.
- 21:20Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So I went in that I was on chest today, and so I first got to the gym, I went and looked, but there's multiple, you know, there's decline, incline, and then there's like two like regular bench press machines, I believe.
- 21:42Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh two or three, anyways.
- 21:45Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um, the one that I was gonna use that I have used for my bench press, and I say I'm not lifting much, I'm lifting the bar, so it doesn't bother me saying that now if This was in my 20s and I was lifting a bar.
- 22:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I would have been like, Justin, we gotta do like we gotta we gotta find a way to increase you know how much weight.
- 22:11Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But for me, I didn't care.
- 22:12Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I I just wanted to get a workout and be tone, and that's just that that's my goal now in life.
- 22:20Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: For like my body type.
- 22:23Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I just wanna be as tone and try to lose as much of my belly as possible.
- 22:32Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So when I got there, I immediately got to the gym, I immediately looked to where I do the bench press.
- 22:41Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And there was there was weight on there.
- 22:43Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So there was like a 45 pounder and a 25, so really it was like 70 pounds on each side.
- 22:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: There is no way, okay, Lucy.
- 22:57Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like I said, Lucy knows when we're on.
- 23:00Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um, there's no way I was gonna be able to lift that.
- 23:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So it was when I first got to the gym, so I thought that whoever was there, wasn't many people there, they had some classes going on.
- 23:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um, so there wasn't a ton of people at the gym, which is fine, doesn't bother me.
- 23:19Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh all but the reason why I say that is I was expecting another person to go and lift that weight, you know, go and do their repetitions, like if they were gonna lift it five times, whatever, how many times they were gonna lift it.
- 23:41Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And and so I started doing so I I I so I adapted.
- 23:45Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I in my mind I was like, okay, so this is the one that I was gonna use.
- 23:50Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Looks like it's being used because there's weight on there, so I'll you I'll do that one, you know, after the person that's done with uh with that it is is completed.
- 24:04Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So I went and I I did some machines, I did some uh did some abs, I did uh some uh chess press and uh some some other chest workout.
- 24:20Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh you know, use the cables, uh did some chess work there.
- 24:25Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um and so I as as I'm kind of going and circling you know the different machines, and then I'm going over and I'm getting uh a glass of water, and and nobody goes over to where that that bench press machine wasn't a machine, this was more like a freeway bench press.
- 24:50Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so I I was like, I kept thinking myself because there's times where like I'm doing a machine or two, and I'm just trying to give you know a certain body apart like a little extra time off.
- 25:06Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So you know, usually it that means I'll do the abs and you know do uh the the back uh machine, and and so that's what I would do, and then I'd come back to the the that machine.
- 25:21Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So it really didn't bother me.
- 25:24Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um yeah, it didn't bother me until I was getting towards the end of my workout, where that was one of two last exercises um that I was gonna do before I was done and finished.
- 25:46Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And the person never showed up.
- 25:48Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: They were so I I started to gather that they weren't coming back, or it was somebody who was working at the facility.
- 25:58Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Anyways, there just happened to be next to not next to the more like behind it, where they had like the incline and decline uh bench press.
- 26:11Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I out of the corner of my eye, I I looked over, and you know, the incline or decline just means like your feet are either higher than your head or they're lower than your head, um, is how that goes.
- 26:29Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh and so this other this other bench press was the same exact as the one I was looking for, uh except the the bench that like you lay on, it was maybe like this much shorter, so it was this much closer to the ground than the other bench press.
- 26:57Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But it was the regular, it was like the regular bench press where it's the the flat bench, the you know, there wasn't an incline or decline or any of that, and so that's why I ended up doing it, and so that was just me adapting my workout so that I could do what I wanted to do.
- 27:21Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um, I mean, if it was busy, if the gym was busy and people were you know rotating and that, like I it would have been more understandable for me than it would have been like, all right, like let me see if I can jump in with uh somebody, you know, in between their sets, you know, I could do a set, and then they could do a set.
- 27:41Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And then um I do that talking.
- 27:44Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: That's about the that's usually the most talking that I'll I'll do at the gym.
- 27:49Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so that wasn't happening.
- 27:52Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I adapted the situation, otherwise, I would be sitting here right now in front of you, or you'd be listening to me, and I would not have completed the workout that I had planned to do in my mind, because I would have been waiting.
- 28:11Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Yeah, and I could have gone and took the weight off.
- 28:14Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um, and so that was another option that I could have done.
- 28:20Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But again, I was kind of like in that lazy mode of I just want everything to be ready so like when I when I get to that station, when I get to that machine, when I get to that weight, that uh I can uh I can start the the repetitions.
- 28:39Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh so anyway, so that's just the just as an example of adapting.
- 28:50Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So that was at the gym, adapting.
- 28:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so in life, we we adapt.
- 28:56Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And I talked about the show, and if the electricity goes out and the internet goes out, and uh okay, if Lucy uh is doing her thing and just you know being being herself, she's going to run around, play with her toys, and and could you know jump in my lab that and that's fine.
- 29:16Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh sometimes though I I don't want that, and and so then either um put her in a kennel, and then we we go uh to a different location to film the show, and we come back and Lucy's right there, she's right there.
- 29:42Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um and I know it's hard because I've done it and I've not done it.
- 29:51Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's hard to do these things, it's very hard, it's not fun, it's not again.
- 29:58Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: The easy thing I could have done was just in like, you know what, I'm not going to the gym today.
- 30:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And then when I got to the bench press, and then that thing that wasn't working out, I could have been like, see, Justin, you shouldn't have gone, shouldn't have gone today because look, look, what predicament you're in.
- 30:13Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Again, this isn't a life or death situation here.
- 30:16Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: This is just like going to the gym and going, okay, like, is there another way I can do like the freeway bench press, not the incline or decline, just the regular.
- 30:30Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um, and then it took me a while because I wasn't just sitting there like thinking for like 20 minutes, I was going and working out on different machines.
- 30:43Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so as I was kind of going between machines and in that, I I was kind of like putting my eye back on the uh the bench press to see if anybody come back.
- 30:55Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um, because usually what happens is if you're done with the bench press, um, usually you take the weight off.
- 31:05Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So you take the weight off, so then it's a clean bar, so there's there's no weight on any size, which would be how I would like it, because then I wouldn't have to worry about going, oh, I gotta take a 10 on 10 pounds off each side or 20, whatever the amount is.
- 31:24Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And again, it's not that I couldn't physically do it and I'm and I'm blessed, I'm lucky that I can.
- 31:30Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: I could do it, I just didn't want to, I guess is what I'm trying to get at.
- 31:35Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Well, wasn't that I was incapable at all?
- 31:38Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It was I just don't want to do it, I just want to be able to go, and that's with all the other bars, the incline, the decline, and then the other the bench press.
- 31:48Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: They they uh none of them had weight on any of their side the sides of the bar.
- 31:55Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Uh so it's it's interesting, right?
- 31:59Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So it it's a little bit of a like said, uh adapting life no matter where we're at, whether we're at the gym, whether we're filming a podcast, uh whether no matter I I mean, because it applies for everything.
- 32:21Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Sometimes things are gonna work.
- 32:23Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Like if there's three traffic lights between where I reside and in the gym, well, there's gonna be times where I'm gonna get green lights, all the time, all three of them are gonna be green.
- 32:39Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Then there's gonna be other times where all of them are gonna be red, and it doesn't mean anything bad, it means okay, well, I'm just gonna wait until the light, the traffic light turns green.
- 32:52Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so these are just things that go on in life that we I know I overlook a lot, and it is not a big deal.
- 33:10Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: It's okay.
- 33:11Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: There's other cars, other people that are dealing with the same thing.
- 33:19Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Some the exact same, some a variation of what we're what we're dealing with, what we're working with.
- 33:30Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: So let the message be adapting.
- 33:34Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Be okay to adapt.
- 33:38Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Because nothing is is easy, especially something that is worth it, is I don't usually like to say like is like all or nothing except for something like this, that it's the things that matter are going to have us use our ability, our talents, or you name it.
- 34:16Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Um just be just be on the lookout for the situations that come up in your life.
- 34:32Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: Some of them are we're not gonna like, but we're just gonna have to do them anyways.
- 34:39Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And others are gonna be closer to something we might like.
- 34:46Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And so let's just think about that.
- 34:53Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: And if it's something we like and we're given that opportunity, then we we always want to do the best we can.
- 35:02Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: But especially if it if it's kind of in the ballpark of what uh what interests us because that that's why I I I believe that voices for voices in our show and our ministry, everything that we're here to help people.
- 35:31Voices for Voices, Justin Alan Hayes: We have big goals but again I will always bring it back to one.
