- 0:03Praise God, Praise God. Welcome back to the Morning Devot, Family of
- 0:06God, Welcome back. It is your brother Sam Lopez a kadj Sam Rock.
- 0:10So when is with a z org live that so Win is with a
- 0:14z dot org and we're in the building. So I got my Saint Jud's
- 0:18shirt on because I've been doing the three thousand push up challenge Amen for the
- 0:24month of March to help raise awareness and donations for Saint Jude Children's Hospital over
- 0:31there in Philadelphia and places beyond that. Well, listen, Silence of God.
- 0:38Silence of God is today's morning Devo. When God seems silent when you're
- 0:44in need of God, when you pray to God, when you need a
- 0:47move of God, Amen, when you're relying on God to come through and
- 0:51it seems silent, what do you do about that? We're in the Holy
- 0:55Week, Amen, so we're focusing back on the sacrifice of what Jesus did
- 1:00is birth, death, resurrection, Amen, all of it, all of
- 1:04it. We're going back to that. Peter Zimbe, thank you so much
- 1:10for sharing the scripture on the screen, Amen, because that's where we're gonna
- 1:15go. Psalms twenty two, Verses one and two. Thank you so much
- 1:21for sharing that. Amen, and let me see make sure we have the
- 1:23right one by the fine no rest Okay, yeah, that's another version of
- 1:29it. Amen. Thank you so much. During moments of silence or feeling
- 1:34distant from god's important to remember that he's still present and attentive to our prayers.
- 1:40Amen. Right, trust in his faithfulness and know that He is always
- 1:47near, even in the silence. That's right, right. Thank you so
- 1:53much for your comments. So listen, that's where we're gonna be at today.
- 1:57I know you've went through it. I've been through it. Involved going
- 2:00through it if you're a believer in Christ. Amen. Although we know that
- 2:05he's present in the time of time and trouble, when we need him,
- 2:08He's always there. But sometimes it might seem like God is silent and in
- 2:15that silence, and I think that's the waiting process, waiting on the Lord,
- 2:17right in that silence. Just keep continue to believe, continue to move
- 2:23and victory. Continued to read his word, continue to speak his word,
- 2:25continue to pray. Very important, continue to pray because the enemy might have
- 2:31you convinced or tries to convince you that you know, throws accusations or tries
- 2:37to convince you to see. God is not hearing you. See, the
- 2:40Lord is not going to move, and that's a lot. The Lord is
- 2:44always doing something new. He's always present in the time of need. Amen.
- 2:49He's always there. Amen, even if we don't see it, God
- 2:53is still working, even if we don't hear him, even if it seems
- 2:57that he's silent a man, God is always working. So let's pray.
- 3:02But before that, if you have any questions, comments, concerns, pray
- 3:06requests, don't hesitate to leave it on a live chat. That's what we're
- 3:08here for. Amen. We get together on these morning devots to communicate to
- 3:14one another. Amen, to gather in fellowship and in faith, a man
- 3:17believing and hoping and trusting. Some of you come on here and you don't
- 3:22have any idea of what we're doing. Amen. So I welcome every single
- 3:25person who's listening and watching right now to the morning devote. You don't necessarily
- 3:30have to be a born again believer to be a part of these morning DeVos.
- 3:36Why do I say that because I know it's the word of God that
- 3:38would change your heart, that would convince you of who He is, The
- 3:42Holy Spirit, God, Holy Spirit. God will do the convicting and convincing
- 3:46convicting you of listen, you need me because you're a sinner a man I
- 3:51can forgive you. He'll do that job a man. Once Jesus forgives you
- 3:54for your sins and cleanses you from all righteousness and all wickedness, he will
- 4:00live inside of you by way of Holy Spirit. And from there, Amen,
- 4:03you're gonna know that you've been transformed, redeem renewed, restored, born
- 4:08again. Amen, that you have a new life, and you're no longer
- 4:11gonna want any parts of the old life. I can guarantee you that you're
- 4:15not gonna want parts of it. We struggle with your old ideas and the
- 4:18old man, of course everyone does. Amen. But in the meantime,
- 4:23you're gonna know for sure in your own life, in your own life,
- 4:28in your own life, that God is real. There's not gonna be There's
- 4:32not gonna be no question about that. You're gonna be able to decide for
- 4:36yourself whether or not this God of the Scripture is real or not, because
- 4:43he's gonna come into your life just like you came into my life in two
- 4:46thousand and one. Amen. And listen. He didn't come uninvited. I
- 4:51needed God and I still need God daily. Amen. He didn't rush and
- 4:57break open my door of my heart a man. He didn't and force his
- 5:00way for me to serve him, to make me serve him, to make
- 5:03me believe. He didn't do none of that. What I did was I
- 5:06called the part God to rescue, save me, change me, transform me,
- 5:11renew me. And he did it. And he did it because he
- 5:14loves me, and he does it because he loves you. Amen. He
- 5:16doesn't need our help, but he wants us to be a part of what
- 5:21he's doing in this world and this earth. Amen. So let's go forward.
- 5:26Let's pray. After we pray, like I said, we'll showed this
- 5:28out for like sixty seconds. When we come back, we'll get right into
- 5:30Psalms chapter number twenty two. I believe versus one and two. Peter put
- 5:40it up on the screen in the chat. Thank you so much for doing
- 5:43that. That's a good idea. Amen. So even during times of silence,
- 5:47God is listening. Father, I thank you so much for your listening.
- 5:51Ear, thank you so much for keeping us in your mind and your
- 5:58heart. Thank you, Lord God, that you help us, never stop
- 6:01praying, never stop believing, and never stop believing that you are our present
- 6:06help. I thank you, Lord God, that you stay with us because
- 6:11you are close, You are in us, working through us. You're all
- 6:14powerful, you know, and you remember our prayers. You know what we're
- 6:19going to say before we speak it. Yet you are gracious enough to listen,
- 6:26patient enough to listen to our requests and our prayers, even when we're
- 6:30fearful, even when we're feel like you're not listening, you are there.
- 6:35Thank you, Lord God, that even during times of silence, that you
- 6:41are available. I pray I had your protection for all those who are listening
- 6:45and watching right now. I pray, Lord God that you will continue to
- 6:47work through these morning sessions, the morning DeVos. And I pray Lord God
- 6:51that every single person who has questions about life, about death, about eternity,
- 6:58whatever they have, Lord God, that you answer them according to your
- 7:00word, your purpose, your plan for each individual life, including mine and
- 7:05my family as well. I pray I had your protection. I pray the
- 7:09power of God by way of Holy Spirit, to ignite this fire in us
- 7:13to continue moving forward even when it seems silent, even when we think that
- 7:17you're not listening. Thank you, Love God for your time. Thank you
- 7:21Lord God for your sacrifice. Thank you Lord God for your love, your
- 7:25grace and your mercy. And thank you Love God for your forgiveness. In
- 7:28Jesus name, I prayed this over myself, my family, my friends,
- 7:31the people on the other side of the screen, and on the other side
- 7:33of this mic, and the powerful, matchless name of the Lord Jesus.
- 7:38I pray, Amen and Amen. Amen. Let's go for it. Let's
- 7:42share this out. Hope me share us out. When we come back,
- 7:45I promise we'll get right into Psalms chapter twenty two Versus one and two.
- 7:49Today we call on this one silence of God. I'll be read back many,
- 9:11man and man, let's go for it. Let's see what the word
- 9:13of God has for us today. A man, I'm excited about it because
- 9:18we go through this whin it says God is not listening, that he's not
- 9:22with us, that he's not paying attention, or even I know we might
- 9:26see an extreme, but even we might think that he doesn't care because of
- 9:31the so called silence, that we think he's just not caring. But that's
- 9:37not true. We know that God is always there. I know his word
- 9:39has conditions. Do this, and this will happen. You don't do this,
- 9:43that will happen. We know that in the scriptures a man and knowing
- 9:48that, we know that God has the best plan for our hearts and minds
- 9:52and our lives. And he has the best future plan, a man for
- 9:56all eternity. For those who are willing to obey. Amen, to trust
- 10:03him and obey because he's good. He's always good. Amen, Silence of
- 10:11God. So I'm twenty two Verses one and two. The word says,
- 10:18my God, my God, why have you abandoned me? Other versions say
- 10:24why have you forsaken me? And of course that Echoes or Jesus echoed this
- 10:30Amen, when he was on the cross of Calvary. Why are you so
- 10:35far away? When I've grown for help? You never felt that way?
- 10:41Verse two. Every day I call to you, my God, but you
- 10:45do not answer. Every night I lift my voice, but I find no
- 10:52relief fo this song. This is a Messianic psalm because we know that Jesus
- 11:01said this on the cross. My God, my God, why have you
- 11:07abandoned me? That's a question when you feel alone, when you feel like
- 11:13wow, the world came against me and God, and you're not there and
- 11:18didn't show up. You might go along those lines too and say this and
- 11:22ask this question, why are you so far away when I've grown for help?
- 11:26And listen, this was before right, the Holy Spirit was dispersed,
- 11:35well, the Holy Spirit, the promised Holy Spirit was not given to the
- 11:39disciples. Amen, this is before that. But what happens Jesus spoke it
- 11:46dies on the cross. Three days later raised, rose from the grave,
- 11:52showed himself to so many people at one time, went to the disciples to
- 11:56make sure they knew he was still alive. And then he ascended to the
- 12:03right hand of the Father and sent back Holy Spirit God, the promised Holy
- 12:05Spirit to the people who are way in the upper room, disciples. Then
- 12:11it came out there out of the upper room, filled with Holy Spirit of
- 12:15God. Knowing that God has not abandoned them. Because they felt some of
- 12:22the disciples were like, Jesus is dead. What now? They felt abandoned
- 12:28and alone, They dispersed, they moved, they hid. Right. We
- 12:33know the scriptures. But look what God did, And to this very day
- 12:37he's still doing what he said he would do, filling us with his Holy
- 12:41Spirit living inside of every one of us, his temple in us, Holy
- 12:48Temple of God. The world is in desperate need to see the sons of
- 12:54God, to see the living God working in a man and in a woman
- 12:58of God, knowing that they're not alone. When I walk into some situations
- 13:05that are dangered unwillingly and not looking for problems, right, who wants problems?
- 13:11I just have this reminder in me that I'm never alone. God is
- 13:16faithful to his word. He doesn't abandon us, he doesn't forsake us.
- 13:20He doesn't leave us all alone trying to figure things out on our own.
- 13:24We do that to ourselves. We have a God who knows. We have
- 13:30a God who hears. We have a God who responds. We have a
- 13:31God who loves. We have a God who forgets. We have a God
- 13:35who's all powerful, all knowing, omni present. Amen. It's important to
- 13:41keep praying through even when God doesn't seem to be listening, or when God
- 13:48is silent. Our emotions will deceive you and me if we rely or trust
- 13:54in our emotions about God. Where are you? You're not there. I'm
- 14:00gonna do it myself. I'm gonna do this myself. I'm all alone.
- 14:03Your emotions can deceive you or will deceive you. Gotta be patient, amen.
- 14:13God is not moved right instantly. Oh, Goda mad at you.
- 14:18If you don't do this, then I'm gonna keep it moving. And it's
- 14:22up to God. We can't command God like some preachers say, I command
- 14:26God. You can't command God to do nothing. He does what he does
- 14:31by his own power, his own strength, by his spirit, by his
- 14:37will. Amen. He knows the beginning from the end. He doesn't need
- 14:45my advice. A man doesn't need your advice. He is who he says
- 14:48he is. He's the great. I am. Seem to pray, it's
- 14:54seem to be patient. God will work everything out for good for those who
- 14:58love him, trust him and obey his commandments. And it's not a hard
- 15:03life. Jesus is not a hard lord to follow a man. He's gentle,
- 15:09spirit kind, just, loving, right, holy, righteous, He's
- 15:16all of that. Since the joys. Good morning, God, bless you,
- 15:18welcome, welcome, blessings in Jesus name. Yes, sister Joan,
- 15:22God bless you, good morning, Welcome back to the morning. Devo.
- 15:26So in this Psalm and Psalm twenty two, David felt as if he had
- 15:31gotten a raw deal from God, never been there, and he wanted some
- 15:39answers to these questions, Why have you abandoned me? Look at what has
- 15:43happened. I'm so miserable. Why all this cruetsy? Why the silence?
- 15:50Because it seems like when you need something right away God's help, it's not
- 15:54going on and you don't get the answer right away. That waiting process,
- 16:00that waiting time seems like eternity. It seems like a long time, and
- 16:03it seems like God is not listening or he's so silent, he's not moving.
- 16:08But that's not true. We know that's not true. Even though David
- 16:11cried out again and again, God remained silent, right because he's seeing he
- 16:22knows. Just trust God. I'm so stubborn and trusting in God. People
- 16:26laughing, but like you just trust God. That's amazing. Yep, God
- 16:32remained silent. His circumstances raise an important question that so many of us have
- 16:37pondered and asked at different times in our lives. What should we do when
- 16:44God doesn't show up? Right? That doesn't even sound like it sounds like
- 16:51a weird question, because we know God shows up. You might be in
- 16:53a position. That's why I respect people's position. All this, you might
- 16:56think that God didn't show up. I might have thought that God didn't show
- 17:00up when I needed him. When our daughters were sick and we were praying
- 17:04the miracle prayer over our daughters. It seemed like God didn't show up.
- 17:11But yes he did and other ways that were just miraculous at the time,
- 17:18and I'm still blown away. Have two questions to ask, first question,
- 17:25how can we maintain faith and trust in God's presence and love during times when
- 17:29we feel like our prayers are answered on when we perceive God's silence as seen
- 17:36in Psalm twenty two and one and two. And the second question, in
- 17:40what ways can the experience of feeling abandoned by God as expressed in the Psalm
- 17:45deepen our understanding of God's sovereign sovereignty, our dependence on Him, and the
- 17:52importance of persevering in prayer of faith and even in the minds of Let's take
- 17:57the first question, how can we maintain faith and trust in God's presence?
- 18:03When you pray right, you're actually speaking to the living, holy, righteous,
- 18:08loving God. When you pray, the way you maintain your faith is
- 18:14by believing and the answer according to the will of God. But you have
- 18:18to be willing to accept what God, how, God answers, how he
- 18:23moves in a situation. If you think he's not moving a man and you're
- 18:29praying to a God who doesn't move, then watch out because you might be
- 18:33praying to the wrong God. First and foremost other part of that is God
- 18:37hearing your prayer. Well, there's scriptures that say there's reasons that God won't
- 18:42even pay attention to your prayer. You won't hear your prayer if you're doing
- 18:47this, that and the third there's scriptures that say, God, you know
- 18:52that our prayers are hindered because of our behavior and what we're doing and what
- 18:56we're holding back against God or what are doing or following on ban So yes,
- 19:02maintaining faith during times where it seems that our prayers are aren't answered,
- 19:07Amen, or the God's silence. Amen. It's not easy, but keep
- 19:11on praying, keep on trust, and keep on believing, and God will
- 19:15will show up. But there's the other side of that coin. If He
- 19:21doesn't hear your prayers, he decides not to listen. Check yourself, make
- 19:25sure your in alignment with God's word, and you're following Christ, the real
- 19:29Christ, and you're praying to the right God, the True God, Living
- 19:32God, the Holy God, Righteous God, the God of the Scriptures.
- 19:34Amen, and you will get a response from God. Amen. So it
- 19:41there's a difference. There's two seasons in our lives. What should we do
- 19:45when God doesn't show up? What happens when God does show up? Amen?
- 19:51Are you willing to honor or you respect the word that's given to you
- 19:57by the Lord, or the respect of God to your prayer? Are you
- 20:02willing to accept that? Or you're gonna be like, that's not the way
- 20:04I wanted it. I'm still upset. I'm not going I'm not gonna do
- 20:08it. Amen. So that's my first answer to that, and the second
- 20:14question, in what ways can the experience of feeling abandoned by God? As
- 20:19expressing the psalm deep in our understanding of God's sovereignty. This is the waiting
- 20:25time. God is there, He's available, He's powerful, Almighty. Amen.
- 20:30Pray and keep on praying. Some people you know say that you push
- 20:36pray until something happens. Amen. I'm thinking now that I'm older than the
- 20:41Lord, Amen, and have more experience now than before. I prayed certain
- 20:47prayers and then I just stopped praying even when I don't see those prayers and
- 20:49answer why, because I believe God heard those prayers. Let's keep it moving.
- 20:55Let's expect the best because God gives the best. And might not seem
- 21:00that way at the time. It might not seem that God is, you
- 21:06know, responding the way you want him to respond or the way I run
- 21:08to respond. But I've been noticing in my life with the Lord, Amen,
- 21:14that his way is the best way regardless. But yeah, pray,
- 21:18persevere, Amen, keep on praying, don't stop praying, Believe, trust,
- 21:23hope, don't let go of God's promises because He's not letting go of
- 21:26his over your life and over my life. Amen. Even in the midst
- 21:32of silence, silence sometimes is an incredibly It's just tough because you want answers.
- 21:42This is a noisy world, and it seems like when people ask for
- 21:45certain things in the world, they get it asap. Because of social media,
- 21:48because of the computer systems we have, it seems like everything's instant.
- 21:52So we try to put God in the instant box. And God is slow
- 21:56to anger, He's slow to move sometimes a certain a man. Be patient
- 22:02wait on the Lord. Amen, But in your waiting, don't be stagnant.
- 22:06Don't do nothing while you're waiting. Continue to pray, to believe,
- 22:08continue to read the Word, continue to trust, continue to surround yourselves with
- 22:12children of God, people who are filled with holy spirite God, and continue
- 22:15moving that way and see what happens. Amen. I hope I answered those
- 22:21questions. Should we stop praying altogether? Should we stop believing that prayer makes
- 22:26a difference? Absolutely not even And when God seems to be silent, right,
- 22:33just keep on going. It's not easy, but it's so worth it
- 22:37since the joint says, yes, God's good. A lot of people think
- 22:41I'm crazy because I talk and hearing me talking to myself. But I'm not
- 22:45talking to myself. I am talking to my father up above, and he
- 22:49hears me, and he's been here from me for the first time that I
- 22:52went to church and been a member, that they are at church, and
- 22:57my sister and brother know what I am going through. He is good,
- 23:03everybody out of everybody out of sign listen everybody out listen to sam and believe
- 23:10in God. Because God is good. You just got to have faith because
- 23:14I've been through a lot and they know that. Amen. Yes, Sister
- 23:18Juanne can tell you that the waiting process is not easy, but it's worth
- 23:22it. It's worth it, Amen. And I know we got a promise
- 23:26from the Lord, me and my wife about children, bearing children on this
- 23:30side of eternity, a man healthy, and it was like a fifteen sixteen
- 23:33year wait for the promise. Was it easy? Not for me? I
- 23:37don't think it was easy for my wife either, Amen, But it was
- 23:41worth it. So life starts caving in around us. Life happens right sometimes,
- 23:47and we've got to be honest with God. I always tell people God
- 23:52works through our honesty. Amen. You don't have to fake anything with God.
- 23:57He knows our heart. He knows what we're gonna say before we say
- 24:00it, So why say it, Sam, Because He wants to hear your
- 24:04unique voice, my unique voice. He wants to know you because you're made
- 24:10unique a man. We're different serve the same God, but we're different personalities.
- 24:15How we look, how we move, how we breathe, how we
- 24:18talk, how we walk, how we perceive things, and God wants to
- 24:22deal with us individually, Amen, and show that he loves God demonstrates his
- 24:26own love. Amen, that in this while we will still hate us with
- 24:30God, he's still regardless of that. He still died for us. Amen.
- 24:37It's an amazing thing. If you think those words have a familiar ring,
- 24:44like God, why have you abandoned me? God? Why you're not
- 24:47listening God? Or where are you right? You might have asked those questions
- 24:52and now you might be thinking, oh, man, I should not have
- 24:56did that. I feel guilty. Not no, I don't feel guilty.
- 24:57You weren't in a situation, and just like David was in a situation,
- 25:02just like the Lord was in a situation that you needed an answer a sap.
- 25:07You needed God to move a sap and it seemed like an eternity until
- 25:11God answered. Because you're going through it. You were going through it a
- 25:15man. You're relying and trusting in God, which is the best place,
- 25:18the best person. The best thing to do is to rely and trust on
- 25:22a living God, not on a dead God, but a living God.
- 25:23Amen. So we have it. You got it. Keep on praying.
- 25:27So where ps I'm twenty two. Amen. Read the whole scripture for yourself,
- 25:30the whole chapter, Verses one and two, is where we camped out.
- 25:34Even during times of silence, God is listening, and I'll take it
- 25:37a little further than God's listening. God will respond. Trust and believe in
- 25:42him, obey him, Amen, and know who He is in a deeper
- 25:47way. And through it all, Amen, you will know God in a
- 25:49deeper way. So I'm out of time. Thank you so much for listening.
- 25:52Thank you for your questions and comments. God bless you all. God
- 25:56keep you all, and remember always that God is good. Peace,
