[upbeat music] Hey, welcome to the radio program, everybody.
• 0:19
It's Full Spectrum Cycling number 75. 75. As we say goodbye to Chris walking out the front door. It's the diamond anniversary. [laughs] Yeah, man. So hot in the shop again today. It's in the mouth.
• 0:37
[laughs] Sorry about that. I'm not sorry. No, I'm not sorry. [laughs] So, uh, what's happening, everybody? Got, uh- It's hot... got some cycling in last weekend. Oh, yeah. Yeah.
• 0:52
That was, uh- You guys had double duty, didn't ya? Saturday and Sunday? Uh, we did. I d- I rode both days. Yeah, I mean, Sunday was our, our, um, second recon for the Steel Is Real ride,
• 1:06
which was, I think, more successful than the first. Yeah. For sure. For sure. It, it had to be more successful even though I didn't go on the first- [laughs]... just because of the surprise wings.
• 1:14
[laughs] The surprise wings? Oh- And your burger... oh, yeah, yeah, at, uh, Ice House. Shh. Can't divulge locations. Oh, we can. Nice. [laughs] I don't care.
• 1:24
[laughs] It, nobody'll know the route till the day of, but- Yeah... and that may or may not be on the ride. Yeah. Sort of depends on whether Dave gets his, um, approval from the city of Milwaukee to-
• 1:35
Open his courtyard... well, be, be available for more people, 'cause he right now only has an inside, but he's building an outside. Ah. So if it's ready, maybe he'll be on the ride. Indeed, indeed. Maybe he won't.
• 1:46
But he probably will. He's a cool dude. Mm-hmm. I mean, he just bought it, oh- Six month, 10 months ago... a couple months, a year ago or so. Yeah. 10 months or a year or something like that. Less than a year. Yep.
• 1:55
And, uh, we discovered that the Milwaukee Underground is now accessible again. I saw that picture. It's exciting. [laughs] The, the picture on Facebook was from seven years ago. Oh, so it's just reopened?
• 2:07
It was closed for a long time when they were doing the construction on the freeway. It was all gated off and everything. Mm. But now that that's done it's reopened.
• 2:14
It, it looks like it's a little bit wet getting in there right now, but- Yeah... as the, uh, as the fall progresses and the water goes away. Very cool.
• 2:25
But we did a lot of urban, urban assault riding on Sunday, that's for sure. Oh, yes. Yeah. Various drainage ditches and- [laughs]... the art trail is newly shorn of- Yeah... grass and everything. It's very nice.
• 2:38
Nice and accessible. Mm. At least between the valley in wall and the, and the east end of it. Nice. So that's good. Right on, right on, right on. [clears throat] And I was able to route
• 2:54
the, the street ride of what we did. Oh, right. Yeah. I kind of- I, I kind of, I looked around and I'm like, "There's gotta be a nice-" I was, I, I was trying to make an excuse- "... route"...
• 3:06
just to go do it again this weekend- Right... which was to do the, the road version instead of the more, uh, adventurous and probably not road bike friendly version of it. Right. Right.
• 3:16
I think, you know, an ambitious person on a road bike could probably do it. [laughs] But- I did the-... very fucking ambitious. [laughs] I did the air trail on my 400- Yeah... a couple years ago...
• 3:26
I mean, the stuff in the, the stuff in the drainage ditches, there's a lot of concrete gone and weird stuff. Yeah, yeah. That would, that would be problematic. Yeah. Yeah.
• 3:34
It's just a little- I wouldn't say it's not entertaining... but it's really cool, so I would still recommend at least a mountain bike for that probably.
• 3:42
Um, what do we ha- oh, he- we had a, right down the block we had a porch concert. Oh, that's right. Gabe's band- You can, yeah, tell us-... Smoke and Mirrors...
• 3:50
because you know, you know at least some of the members of the band, right?
• 3:53
Well, Gabriel Hammer is, he's been in a number of pretty good blues and jazz bands, and he plays with, he's, he's a guest musician a lot in, like, New Orleans and out in Texas, I believe.
• 4:06
Um, I only know all this because he was my daughter's piano teacher, and now he is my daughter's guitar teacher. So he's the organist, huh? He's the, and but he also, his b- his favorite thing to play is drums. Okay.
• 4:17
Um, so he's, he's primarily a drummer. But yeah, he's, um, he's a very multi-talented, uh, individual, and he's just fortunate enough to have a big porch that's right across [laughs] the street from Sniles Crossing Park.
• 4:29
Yeah, it was nice. It was, it was very fantastic. Oh, it was a, I think it was a three-piece that day, right? Uh, and then, and the, the guy showed up- Yeah, part of a...
• 4:35
and did some rapping, and then there was another guy that showed up and did a little bit for a four piece. They're usually a three piece though, yes. With, uh, saxophone. Yeah. Smoke and- Drums... Smoke and Mirrors.
• 4:43
Smoke and Mirrors. Yeah. Yeah, Smoke and Mirrors is- Is the name... yeah. I just said it weird. It was, it was good stuff. [laughs] I think, I don't, I hope they did all right.
• 4:49
Uh, they had the tip jar, the virtual tip jar going. I hope they, yeah. They had a actual real tip jar going too, so. And in the forecast, uh, garden concert this Saturday. Mm. At, uh- Community... across from Brem?
• 5:04
Yeah. Nice. Community Garden. It's... What is it? Elevator, I think it's Elevator Trio, and Voot Warnans- Mm... and Bristlehead, Mike Fredrickson. Oh, that's cool. So. Bristlehead, that's a good band.
• 5:17
Um, and then, uh, Sept- September 19th is our projected day for the, uh, Steel Is Real virtual ride. What are we calling it this year? [laughs] It's- I'm gonna ride it. Yeah, we're gonna ride it on the 19th.
• 5:31
Socially distant. Socially distanced- Staggered... cycling ride. Yeah. I would- We'd like to see you there... yeah, without everybody congregating all at once- Right... at one spot probably. But it'll be pretty easy.
• 5:43
I think we have s- six or seven stops, and then- Yeah... the last stop will also be at Brem.
• 5:49
I'm just gonna say it now, because it's worth pointing out that the 19th they will have another concert there, so it'll be cool to- Catch a show... uh, you can sit across the street from the park and catch a show. Yeah.
• 5:59
And I believe, hopefully, um, Scanlan's band is going to play. Sorry, not sorry. [laughs] Yeah. [laughs] What's the name of the band now? I keep, uh- El Ronaldo. El Ronaldo...
• 6:10
El Ronaldo is, yeah, that's the current one, right? [laughs] Yeah. Yeah, so- It's uphill both ways... so they will, uh- Testicle Hills... I believe be there on the 19th. Um, I know James is working on that. Pop sacko.
• 6:21
Pop sacko. But that's not the same weekend as the Digital Frost Bike. Knew that was coming. [laughs] It's gonna be a Digital Frost Bike this year, by the way, just in case you were- Beep boop...
• 6:33
wondering and planning your February 17th- Yeah... to 19th weekend. It will not be happening in, in person in Minneapolis there. Minneapolis. [laughs] I have a lot of songs going through my head today. Sorry about that.
• 6:46
Not Sydney? What? Oh. Well, when I lived in Sydney- Too easy. [laughs] Too easy. There was a damn floating wiffle ball there, brother. [laughs] Yep. We, uh...
• 6:57
Well, Zeno tried to get us to go out for an ear- early afternoon beer today, but, uh, forgot it was Wednesday, so- Podcast tank can do it for you... no beers.
• 7:05
No beers on, no beers on Wednesday afternoons until- The- Top of the hill... top of the hill. Top of the hill... top of the hill. Brought to you tonight by Sam. Sam D. Sam. Lurking in the background there. Judging.
• 7:18
Trying, trying to figure out whether it's worth putting his two cents into this thing- [laughs]... at some point. Looking, judging. Brought a couple bikes over. [laughs] One need, one needing a little brake bleed job.
• 7:27
I don't... What's the other one here for, Sam? Uh- Good looks... it's, uh, not shifting that well. [laughs] Oh, right on. It's his, uh, Ganarvister g- ti- gu- titanium g- good bike. It's been through an awful lot.
• 7:41
[laughs] Yeah. It's been, it's, it's been through- That's why you buy a Ti bike [laughs] is to put it through an awful lot... been through the wringer.
• 7:47
I, I feel guilty 'cause I have two Ti bikes and I have not been riding either one of them lately.
• 7:51
[laughs] I'm, I just, I love that 29 plus bike that I'm riding right now, which makes me think maybe I will put 29 plus wheels on my, my Chumba Stella because why not, right?
• 8:05
[laughs] I just have to, I just have to rob another bank to buy another set of Onyx Racing kickass wheels. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. And that'll be nice.
• 8:15
I mean, 27 plus is pretty cool, but just for around town, I like a rigid bike with 29 plus. It's just so great to be able to not worry about what you're, what you're rolling over. Indeed. Indeed.
• 8:28
I've got platforms on it just now, and that's my bump around town bike... the, uh, your Krampus? Yeah. Yeah. Krampus. Sam talking, but you can't hear him. [laughs] You keep on knocking, but you can't come in.
• 8:41
We'll put, we'll put some headphones on him next time he's here. You can't come in. No. He can't get away with this forever. Um, also- Peace... so, so what Sam brought was, uh, this is... Is this Good City? Yes it is.
• 8:51
Risk. Risk. IPA. Which I- That is good... actually is very good. I don't know much about it. It's, uh... Is it six and a half? I think so. 6.5% alcohoozy. It's an IPA. It's in a blue can, folks. Look- It's blue... yeah.
• 9:05
We're taking a risk. And we're... I guess it's actual- Tony, Tony's koozie is blue... right? Yeah. And I guess Risk is kind of- Can of-... an actual, you know- So I have three-...
• 9:13
apropos name for a beer at this crazy moment in time... it's less than a month in the can. And all you have to do- Wow...
• 9:20
is always start down in Micronesia, and then you build up forward, and then you take over the world in Risk. Yeah. [laughs] That's, that's that jump from- It's simple...
• 9:29
it's that gr- that jump from Kamchatka over to, uh- [laughs]... Alaska is a good one right there. Start right there in Micronesia. That's your entrance into North America- [laughs]... through the back door right there.
• 9:38
Mm. Patience. Look to the turtle. [laughs] You're in for the long haul when you play this game. I haven't played Risk in a long time. There's actually, I think, an iPad version of it, which would be pretty sweet.
• 9:49
What's that noise? Someone's buzzing. Sorry. Wow. Phone's ringing, dude. Sorry. That resonated right through the table. Yeah, it's got a hell [laughs] of a vibration to it.
• 9:56
It, it's, uh, it's Tony's vibe- He's calling himself with his phone in his pocket again. I'm turning it down. So here's something else we got today. Turning it down but turning you on. Wow, these are really hard.
• 10:07
Tony pulled down the Landjäger sausages that have been hanging up on the f- on the, uh, on the Smitty frame for the last at least 30 days, if not more. Yep. They are- It's hard... they're hard and they're delicious.
• 10:21
[laughs] Mm. Mm. For those of you- Oh, yeah... who don't know, a, a Landjäger is a salt cured German sausage that is delicious, as Sam is about to open and try.
• 10:29
But you can literally carry them camping on a trail for months, and they do not go bad. They just get better. There is a lot of salt there. And there's a ton of salt there. Yeah. That's what makes them so beautiful.
• 10:41
They're very salty. Like- Yes. So if you have high blood pressure- They have salty chocolate balls... yeah. [laughs] Yeah. Um, you don't have to worry about that.
• 10:49
Leave it open 'cause we're gonna throw a couple more over the front. [laughs] Wow. Yeah. And it's, you know, it's like- Get the flavor. There's a ton more flavor. That's- Oh, yeah. Yeah...
• 10:55
like, it's making me a little sweaty. Yeah. It's, uh- Aren't they great? Yeah. Best Slim Jim of all time. Yeah. [laughs] Yeah. It's like a real Slim Jim. And it even snaps- Got lipstick... like a Slim Jim is supposed to.
• 11:04
Yeah. It's not cheap, sweetie. I need, I need to wash this down with some beer. [laughs] Mm-hmm. And you can chew on 'em like gum for a while. And you have all these frames in which to hang them. Yeah, we could.
• 11:15
Look at them. Yeah. We could do as a promo for bikes. Yeah, we could do like- Buy a bike-... two links of Landjägers with every frame. [laughs] Yeah.
• 11:23
No, you really want this frame because these have been on here for seven months. Yeah. And, you know- [laughs] And we don't switch. You can't switch, no. No, no, no, no, no, no, no. No. They, they know each other now.
• 11:33
I don't know how long this frame is gonna be here. [laughs] Yeah. I've got this 56... I... This is one of the last road frames Tom Teasdale made. Teasdale made, yeah. And it's a 56, which I was... I can't quite do.
• 11:44
I, I need a 54, and at some point I'll probably sell that to some lucky individual who will get one of the last Teasdale built road frames out of some fancy-ass steel tubing. I don't remember what it is. Right.
• 11:55
Columbus something something fancy. Probably ought to think about selling that since, uh, dang old pandemic's keeping people out of the shop. Yeah. Well, that has, um, has happened in places-
• 12:12
Yeah. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. Quite a bit. Quite a bit. So that's part of- I think we... Did we talk about the shit worth doing last week, the Swift Campout? I don't think so. The Great- Oh, yeah... Autumn Equinox Campout.
• 12:24
Well, I got it on the list again- Almost even- So if we didn't talk about it, we'll talk about it again this week... amended. Amended. Cool route. Yeah. It's, um, well- Vancouver-ish... I think that the idea is- Area...
• 12:34
that people do their own thing that weekend and do their own routes too. I mean, there- Mm-hmm... it's, it wouldn't necessarily just be everybody on the same route, and it's September 26th and 27th.
• 12:45
They got a lot, a lot of people sponsoring it. They have some really good deals on, like, bike packing gear and stuff, discounts off Swift gear and a couple other companies. Mm.
• 12:53
So swiftcampout.com's a good place to go check that out. Yeah. I know I like my Swift bag over there with it. Goes in the Wald 137 basket. That is a gorgeous bag.
• 13:02
That clown's plum or wine or purple or whatever color you wanna call that bag. Yeah, that is a fantastic bag. Magenta. Be great for, yeah, for camping or, like, grocery store runs.
• 13:13
You know, for light, for a light run to the grocery store. Oh, yeah. Just fill it up. That's what that basket's great for. Mount it right on the basket and you- It's a, it's a $25 basket with $175 bag on it.
• 13:22
[laughs] It's kinda like a beat-up Subaru with a $10,000 mountain bike on it. Yep. Yep, pretty much. Yeah. Yeah. Hey, Sam's picked up one of my f- one of my things on my list.
• 13:32
I don't think I talked about this before, my- Yeah. [laughs]... my ProTaper 2020 Enduro carbon handlebar. That's one of my- Your favorite handlebar... one of my, the things I dig. These are a few of his favorite things.
• 13:43
Um, the one, the, the versions I've got are still 720, which I'm okay with, especially since they don't end up on, like, full-on mountain bikes, but I think they make it in a 780 now if you really like to get a little bit wider.
• 13:56
Crap. But, uh, yeah, I, it's, like, especially for stuff around town, I'm not a drop bar guy anymore, and I, I loved them before, um, just blasting around town with. Right.
• 14:07
They got just a little rise, maybe 20 millimeters. Got a little- Yeah... 20-degree sweep and they've got just a little- Yeah... rise to- They're comfy... or, um, sweep and rise. Sweep and rise. Yeah. Sweepy.
• 14:18
Those kick ass though. Um- I like them 'cause they don't really look like they're carbon fiber either. Yeah. That, well, they used to be, Answer used to sell 'em.
• 14:27
I think, um, ProTaper's actually like a motocross company- Yeah... is most of what they do. But I know they're still available from BTI if your shop wants to, uh, wants to carry- Get it signed...
• 14:37
'em, you can get them over there at the, at the, at the BTI. There you go. There you go. Um, huh. It's hot. Do, do, do, just seeing what's on the list. Uh, yeah. I don't, I don't know. What else you got?
• 14:53
Who's got anything? Who's got something? There's that, uh, Great Milwaukee Brewery Bike Race. Oh, yeah. Gathering place- To Eagle... uh, Enlightened. Enlightened and back, yeah. So some start in Enlightened. In, yeah.
• 15:07
Some start... So it's a Riverwest, Bay View- Yeah... race-a-haul. And I guess parameters are you do start, drink a beer at whichever home base you start at. Go to the other place.
• 15:20
Go to the other place, however the hell you want to. Drink a beer. Drink a beer there. Drip. Drink a beer. Rip it back. Drink a beer. Home base, drink a beer. Done. Time. I guess.
• 15:31
So is the beer drinking from start to finish or the first beer drank and when you open it and then the last beer consumed when you finish it? I think that's what they're going for. Probably, yeah. Yeah. Most likely.
• 15:41
Yeah. Most likely. [clears throat] Huh. Well, that sounds fun. It'll be entertaining. It l- it looks like something I will- Do... uh, spectate. [laughs] Right. It could be done.
• 15:51
Well, I could do the beer thing- Could be done, yeah... and just, and my time's gonna be, like, you know, two and a half hours. Right. Right. Exactly. For what? 16 miles maybe? Sounds fair. About. Something like that.
• 16:02
Yeah, I could do that. It's- Yeah... it's not that far, is it? I doubt it's even 16 miles. Yeah. I doubt it's eight and eight. No. Yeah, it's probably less than 16. Yeah. Yeah. Well- Less...
• 16:12
but still two and a half hours 'cause I'm having a couple of beers. [laughs] Well, there you go. Yeah. It's not like a- Especially at Enlighten 'cause they have beer... it's not like you're gonna win anyway...
• 16:18
and I have a couple beers. What do you mean? Win? Unless you push the button. I push the button. [laughs] Of course that's how I'd win. I'd push the button.
• 16:23
[laughs] And I'd put my H-speed- I didn't see any caveats there... and I'd put my H-speed back on too because I max out that single speed too quick. Yeah. Are you, it, so you have a 42?
• 16:35
What's your, what's your, f- 42, 20 or something on there, right? 22 I think, yeah. It, it- 42, 20 I think you run on- Yeah, it spins quick... belt drive. On my Surly.
• 16:43
It, I like it when the electric motor is not part of the equation. I actually love it. That's perfect for me. Yeah, it's a great city bike for that. Yeah. Especially with the thick slicks on,
• 16:50
which are, of course, my new favorite tire. We've, we've had... I'm into those. I'm digging those. But I've been digging those for, like, six months. I just, uh- Not the Extra Terrestrials? Oh, I've not ridden them.
• 17:01
I've not ridden them. They're so nice. I, I- They feel nice. I, I- They're just so nice... we're looking at JK's Low Side sitting on the stand there and, uh- I'm a high style...
• 17:09
they're, they're temporarily out of stock on the 26 by 2.5 Extra Terrestrial. Well, depending on length of whatever, I actually have those on my other beater bike that I'm replacing, this one. Oh, right on. So.
• 17:24
That's a potential. We could just- Yeah... take them off there if you need. And they're f- pretty fresh, 'cause I... That's been f- that wasn't long ago. On the Trek? Yeah. Oh, it's perfect swap. Yeah, yeah.
• 17:34
And then put those on the Trek. I don't think they'll fit. They're 26 by threes. Oh, yeah. I'm pretty sure those won't fit on the Trek. [laughs] Exactly.
• 17:43
[laughs] They, they- The Trek's, the Trek needs- That's a big tire... different love. That's a big 26, yes. Well, and that Trek- Yeah... I mean, it'll, it'll just need tires. Everything else is so damn Frankenstein, so.
• 17:53
Right. Well, that said, we could always put 27 fives on this one too. [laughs] Just, you know, just because. Right. I mean, it's mostly a city urban assault vehicle, so. Right. Right. That's gonna carry beer.
• 18:04
I mean, groceries. And beer. And wine. And beer. And beer. And a, and a speaker mount-ish zone- Right... which is simple enough. Absolutely. All the little, little things that go into it. What's that again? Oh.
• 18:19
What's it doing now? It's just alerting me to a message That's- Motion detected... oh, actually, that happened to my- Should I get you a piece of foam to put it on, so it- We did get...
• 18:28
on, on revving back to the Sunday ride, did get caught in the rain for a little bit. I was wondering. No, it was, but it was light. It wasn't- No, it was not fucking light.
• 18:37
[laughs] It was not- [laughs] It, it wasn't like a, a, a squall line.
• 18:40
Well, you were on, you were in the, in the place that w- shall not be named, but had a god dang canopy on it, and I was just ripping to the last stop, or second to last stop. Oh. I didn't have enough...
• 18:53
I, I, I was not pre- Well, we got a little wet, but whatever... I was not prepared. I wasn't preparing for any of that. Well, my phone seemed fine- Rut roh...
• 19:02
that night, next day, or next morning at least, and then all of a sudden, brr, just going on a spasm, just like trying to restart, but not being able to. I can't close it down or anything.
• 19:15
So it's like four hours of this thing just doing that. Brr, brr, you know, really trying, trying. And I'm like- This was two days after the rain? Monday. Next day. Next day, okay. Monday.
• 19:27
And, and, uh, so I'm like resigned, "Okay, ugh, I'm gonna have to get a new goddamn phone," and speaking ill of it. Stopped off for a drink just to get my head together.
• 19:40
[laughs] And then it must have known I was speaking ill of it, because ta-da, it came back to life. Nice. And I was like, "Okay." But now it's got my head in the game. Yeah, yeah. You know? For, for replacement action?
• 19:52
Yeah, yeah. So I'm not, you know, don't have one foot off the- I love this phone... merry-go-round. That i- Is that the- Is that, is that your iPhone? Pixel? No, this is the Pixel 4A. I was looking at that, actually.
• 20:03
I really like this phone a lot. All right. I'm gonna take that under advisement. It- I'm thinking, yeah... that's Tech Talk with Tony today.
• 20:09
Yeah, I just, you know, I, I am, I'm, obviously, I'm, I'm moving up four generations of Pixel. Is that a thing you dig, your Pixel 4? I, I, yeah, that could be a thing I dig. It doesn't have to be bike-related. Right.
• 20:19
No, no, things we dig are- Yeah, no, it is a-... quite possibly not bike-oriented... bang for the buck. [laughs] Bang for the buck. It is really...
• 20:26
Those pictures I took of the band on Friday night, I thought were really good, the social distancing, and then the picture of the band, like, on the, from the ground looking up. You can see the sky in the back.
• 20:36
It, it's takes- It does, like, an HDR thing. Yeah, they're all HDR. So it's not just a clever name with the Pixel. Right, no. It actually makes good pixels. Yeah. Yeah. But yeah, for, for 350- Hmm. Yeah...
• 20:49
with 128 gig- Yeah... six gig of RAM. Yeah. Did you get sucked into a contract with it? No. Hmm. I'm on Google Fi anyway, so. That seems cheap. It is. Yeah.
• 20:59
It is everything, uh, according to all the reviews before I just purchased it randomly, it is everything you want in a phone and nothing you don't need.
• 21:07
If you're a gamer, don't buy it, but that means, like, a gamer like- What do you, who games on a phone? Oh. What's that all- What's that all- Apparently kids... about? [laughs] Apparently kids.
• 21:14
Well- I've seen- I mean, Trailer Park Boys is- That's not a game, though. Yeah. That's, that's nothing... that's a time-waster. Bud Farm? Yeah. Bud Farm. Bud Farm, time-waster. All right.
• 21:21
So, like- Cheech and Chong's Bud Farm, too... I've seen, I don't know if they're getting it, but I've seen people asking, like, 8 grand for iPhones with Fortnite on it. Right. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. I, I saw an ad for 10.
• 21:29
  10. Yeah, somebody's, some- I- Somebody's dumb enough to buy it... maybe people are that into Fortnite that they can't not have an iPhone and Fortnite. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
• 21:39
People that are buying that- With Epic stepping on their own foot... are probably making money, more than $10,000 playing Fortnite, therefore are willing to buy that because they get to keep playing.
• 21:47
So you make money by, what, building something up and selling it? Or how, how do you make money at Fortnite? Those guys are all pro gamers that play those. They make- Huh... they get paid.
• 21:55
People watch them on Steam and stuff to play. So I bought a, a- There's a kid that makes over a million dollars a week... while we're in tech land, we're in the tech corner here- Uh...
• 22:03
when I bought this most recent television, it's a Samsung that was preloaded with this weird live TV bonus. It's like Samsung Cable or whatever.
• 22:14
There's, like, a channel that's devoted to Kitchen Nightmares, and that's it, just Kitchen Nightmares all, all over the place. But one of them is a Fortnite channel, where it is just tips, you know- Yeah...
• 22:26
live gaming crap, and da, da, da, da, ding. There's all day watch channel, too. Yeah, those kids get paid huge money. Uh-huh. I don't think- Esports, man. I don't, Garrett doesn't play Fortnite yet.
• 22:34
He, he's, uh, big into Splatoon for some reason. I don't know what that is either. I- It's a Nintendo thing, Switch thing. Okay. Switch thing, yeah. Um- Yeah, those, those kids can make... Well, not kids too, either.
• 22:44
There's adults making dope on those. I guess- Millions of dollars... sounds good. Sign me up. Yeah. [laughs] Get good. Nope. [laughs] Well, I don't have time for that. There's y- I just want the money...
• 22:55
there's the kid that was 17 who got caught using a cheat, and he's been banned for life. He's, they've got YouTube videos of him- Yeah... crying, asking to come back. "I'm so sorry I used this cheat."
• 23:04
Fuck you, you're done. Your millions, millions of dollars are over. Now go create a new name so no one knows about you- Right... and make millions. Yep, for sure. [laughs] Probably- It's like, come on, you idiot...
• 23:12
go overseas and get an operation- Uh... and get a different face and- Right... come back. Yeah. Can't tell. It's the same guy. Add a finger on each hand, so you're a little faster. Right, right.
• 23:21
[laughs] Have, have you watched Mythic Quest at all? No. It's, uh, one of the dudes from Always Sunny. Oh. [laughs] I forget which- That's gotta be hilarious... it's not, it's not Charlie Day.
• 23:30
It's the, it's M- McHale- Mac... Mc- Mackelhenry or whatever- Yeah... his name is. Mac. He's, like, the head of a gaming company that it has, is similar to Fortnite.
• 23:39
It's a massive multiplayer game, but it's freaking hilarious. It's, it's on Apple TV+. Yeah. So you're gonna have to sign up for a month and binge watch it. Your free month, your free 30 days.
• 23:51
The reason I still own, owe and pay for Hulu because I can't- Don't you-... not wanna watch live TV... where'd you get the iPhone from? Was it brand new when you got it? No, it's a X. Oh. So they just gave it to you?
• 24:01
'Cause any, any- It's my corporate-... Apple product you buy now, you get a year free of Apple+ anyway. Oh, it's a corporate device. I don't know. That's Apple, folks, apple.com. They're about to split seven to one.
• 24:12
Is it seven to one? Or is it- I don't-... five to one? I thought it was only two to one. Five to one is Tesla. I don't know.
• 24:18
My buddy, Brian But they're up, they s- it's, since, I don't remember when it was, but it's like 224 times- Mm... split since it split in 1999 or whatever. He lost, uh,
• 24:30
he kinda panicked during the last, uh, little blip there, and yeah, he lost, uh, $45,000 'cause he sold a stock too soon. Sold it too soon. Well, Warren Buffett made 40 billion, so you know. Right.
• 24:42
Guys that hold on make money. Or guys that know when to sell and buy.
• 24:46
Speaking of making money, if you, if you happen to get another stimulus check, 1,200 bucks, that's pretty close, not far off the price of a brand new Surly Wednesday. Oh.
• 24:56
Which, uh, we have several coming in in probably late September. Colors? I can't, I can't tell you about the color yet. I have to wait till the 17th of September [laughs] to tell you, but it's cool.
• 25:09
[laughs] And it's up-spec'd from last year, and it's 1599. I can tell you that. And I can tell you this, they're gonna sell out fast, so if you wanna reserve one, info@everydaycycles.com.
• 25:20
We got small, we got medium, we got large, we got extra larges coming in. I would say- Uh... probably- That is the look on- Would like to have them all sold before they show up. [laughs] That would be really cool.
• 25:32
But, um, yeah, they're gonna be great. I would, I'll show, I, I'll show you, but you can't tell anybody. I know that. [laughs] We're in the shop. I mean, this is- I know... this is, we're respecting the embargo.
• 25:42
But if I want another fat bike, I want that Wyatt. [laughs] Well, here's the thing about the Wednesday, and what I like about it for my own personal self, it's a 170 bike. Okay. It's not a 197 bike. So it is a
• 25:57
narrower Q factor, and for me, for a lot of the riding we do around town, and just- That's, that's pretty big... not the most extreme stuff. That's important. I really, I really, the 170 is perfect for me. The 197,
• 26:07
sometimes that's a little on the wide side. But, uh, that's mostly just in, in the crank, you know, the Q factor thing for me. Right, right. And my hips, and my narrow, my narrow hips.
• 26:19
Not made for- I don't wanna ever hear you- [laughs]... talking about your hips again. They weren't made for birfin'. They weren't. Nope. [laughs] I ain't birfin' no babies.
• 26:25
[laughs] You know, and they can still take, like, a, a, you can still get a big-ass tire in there, so. Yeah.
• 26:30
It's just you're gonna compromise a little bit on the drivetrain on the inside if you really wanna be technical about it. Right. And I'm gonna have to have it repainted every three years 'cause I ride it in the water.
• 26:40
It's, uh, ED-coated on the inside- That's true. That is true... of them too, so you don't really have to worry about the inside.
• 26:44
Or you could always get a Wyatt, which, so the Wyatt is by far the premier made in the USA- Fat bike... fat bike. Yeah. Which is, you know, can take any tire size out there. And, um, the, uh,
• 26:58
ice cream truck, which is also a 197 bike, and a, and a, and a great bike in its own right, those won't be around until at least December. Oh. So w- I'm, I'm kinda going with the Wednesday as the 170 bike.
• 27:09
And if you want a Wyatt, heck in a, he's right over in La Crosse. We'll get one over here for you. Get you a Wyatt. Yeah. Come in and ride the demo model. It's fucking awesome. And it's got that Renthal fork on it, too.
• 27:19
It does. It is- Which, which is really sweet... incredible. Incredible. That thing is nice. Well, I guess, uh- We talked a lot... we, we did, about basically nothing.
• 27:30
It's not quite a Seinfeld episode, but- It's pretty close. In the spirit. It's pretty close. [laughs] Uh, yeah.
• 27:36
Well, folks, uh, we'll- We don't have a r- there's no thing as a, an original idea, just a spin on the same thing. Right. Maybe we'll have, maybe we'll have somebody interesting. Oh, here's, uh, something interesting.
• 27:47
Um, Chewy has now done two podcasts, which- Ah... I will be posting. I think we're gonna put his stuff up on Sundays on the website. Um, his first one is, like, 40 Minutes with Sav, which is brilliant. Right, right.
• 27:59
Is that what it's called, too, 40 Minutes with Sav? Uh, that's probably what it will be called when I put it up.
• 28:03
[laughs] But I mean, first, for basically him doing his first thing, he got himself a Roadcaster and some fancy microphones, and it, uh, turned out very good.
• 28:13
If you want a podcast, folks, it doesn't take much but a grand. See, that's another thing you could spend your $1,200 stimulus package on. But then you wouldn't get any of it. But then you wouldn't get a Wednesday.
• 28:24
Oh, more Lon, more Londraggers come in. The Londraggers have been placed. All right, sweet. So this is the, it's show, so show 75. Show 75. Just remember that. Yeah. Seven. Put a seven five in the screen.
• 28:35
[laughs] I guess, uh, maybe we'll find somebody interesting for next week. Yeah. Um, Jake, uh, Orvis was talking about coming on the show. Oh, right on. That'd be fun. From 357 String Band.
• 28:45
So maybe we'll have more musicality. I might have to bring the Yamaha mixer over here for all these musician types that wanna play on the show. Yeah.
• 28:53
As long as we can just plug it into the Gizmo here, I'm all good with that. Yeah. All right then. Good. Like I always say sometimes... Have a good Friday. Yeah. See you next week. Bye. Bye.
