- 2:43Redge: Oh, well I'm here, so what's up?
- 2:46Redge: How can I help?
- 2:48Redge: I'm worried.
- 2:49Jonathan: Worried?
- 2:50Jonathan: About what?
- 2:52Redge: I don't know.
- 2:53Redge: Everything nothing you know.
- 2:58Jonathan: Ah, well why don't you tell me about it, Redge?
- 3:01Redge: Well I'm nervous
- 3:04Jonathan: about
- 3:06Redge: the unknown.
- 3:07Redge: I don't know what I don't know, so I can't guarantee a good outcome from any decision.
- 3:13Redge: Which means there is just as much of a chance for the outcome to be as unfavorable as it can be favorable.
- 3:20Redge: I can't leave my home for fear of some accident or danger lies in my path.
- 3:26Redge: And staying at home has me worried that I'm missing some crucial aspect of the world that everyone's talking about.
- 3:33Redge: You know that FOMO thing.
- 3:37Redge: Then I fear I've got it all wrong.
- 3:41Jonathan: Ah
- 3:43Redge: That's it.
- 3:44Redge: I text you at three AM to rush to my bedside, share my worries, and you respond with ah
- 3:51Jonathan: Oh I'm sorry, Redge.
- 3:53Jonathan: I really do understand where you're coming from.
- 3:56Jonathan: You just made me realize how much uncertainty causes me anxiety too.
- 4:02Redge: Anxiety?
- 4:04Jonathan: It's a feeling of fear, dread, or uneasiness, like worry in its ultimate form.
- 4:11Jonathan: And it really can stick with you and cause some of the feelings you're feeling right now.
- 4:17Redge: So this is normal.
- 4:19Jonathan: Oh yes, Redge.
- 4:20Jonathan: You're definitely in good company.
- 4:23Jonathan: So many of us experience worry and anxiety.
- 4:26Jonathan: I'm glad you called in a friend.
- 4:28Jonathan: You know, this is reminding me of a story.
- 4:31Jonathan: Would it be alright if I shared it?
- 4:33Jonathan: Maybe it'll bring you uh some peace of mind for the night.
- 4:38Redge: Well it's worth a try.
- 4:40Redge: I'm certainly not sleeping anytime soon.
- 4:44Jonathan: All right.
- 4:44Jonathan: Once upon a time, there was a hen who lived on a large farm full of many animals.
- 4:52Jonathan: Her name was Henny Penny.
- 4:55Redge: Ha Henny Penny Good name.
- 4:58Redge: A solid start.
- 5:01Jonathan: Thanks.
- 5:01Jonathan: Henny Penny was outside, wandering under some oak trees, when an acorn fell from a tree and whack! It hit her on the head.
- 5:13Redge: Oh, another fear to add to my stay inside list falling objects.
- 5:19Jonathan: But Henny Penny didn't think it was an acorn falling from the sky.
- 5:23Jonathan: On that day, she concluded that it must be the sky itself falling.
- 5:29Redge: Oh dear, that would be quite intimidating.
- 5:32Jonathan: Right you are, Mr.
- 5:33Jonathan: Redge.
- 5:34Jonathan: Henny clucked.
- 5:36Henny Penny: Oh my goodness! This is exactly the type of issue others should know about.
- 5:43Henny Penny: I must go tell the king so they can make a royal decree that the sky is falling.
- 5:50Jonathan: So Henny Penny set off through the yard to warn the king.
- 5:53Jonathan: But before she arrived at the king's castle,
- 5:57Redge: a king of the farmyard, what a delight.
- 6:00Redge: I bet he was regal, clever, smart, funny.
- 6:05Redge: Oh maybe he was a hedgehog.
- 6:08Jonathan: Uh it's possible.
- 6:10Jonathan: You sure are ow sharp
- 6:15Redge: Oh, sorry, friend.
- 6:17Redge: Keeping out the old spines to stay safe.
- 6:21Jonathan: I ow I understand.
- 6:24Jonathan: Do you want to hear the rest of the story of Henny Penny and how her friend the goose reacted to her proclamation?
- 6:32Redge: Only if the goose's name is as delightful as Henny's
- 6:37Jonathan: Well, Goosey Loosey
- 6:39Redge: Yes Oh this barnyard is a hoot.
- 6:44Redge: Ooh, maybe the king was an owl.
- 6:47Redge: Hootie tootie the owl king.
- 6:52Jonathan: Wow, it seems like you're starting to come out of the other side of your worry.
- 6:57Redge: Oh no.
- 6:59Redge: Still worried and terrified.
- 7:01Redge: Hooty tooty hooty tooty eh Baboom
- 7:10Jonathan: Yeah, noted.
- 7:11Jonathan: Well, Henny Penny ran up to her friend, Goosey Loosey, and yelled,
- 7:17Henny Penny: The sky is falling! The sky is falling! And it hit me square on my head! We must go warn the king! Goosey Loosey was not one to ignore the cries of a desperate friend, so he hopped right on board.
- 7:34Goosey Loosey: The sky is falling, I'll go with you.
- 7:38Goosey Loosey: We must warn everyone, honk?
- 7:41Goosey Loosey: The sky is falling! The sky is falling honk honk!
- 7:46Jonathan: And the two set off to warn the king.
- 7:49Jonathan: On their way, they ran into their friend, Turkey Lurkey.
- 7:54Redge: Oh these names just get better and better.
- 7:57Redge: I like these Barnyard besties.
- 8:01Jonathan: When they came upon Turkey Lurkey, Goosey Loosey and Henny Penny filled him in.
- 8:07Goosey Loosey: The sky is falling,
- 8:09Jonathan: honked Goosey Loosey.
- 8:12Henny Penny: It hit me on the head
- 8:15Jonathan: clucked Henny Penny.
- 8:16Jonathan: We are headed toward the king.
- 8:19Jonathan: The two shouted in unison.
- 8:22Jonathan: Their fear was so high and their energy so incredibly infectious that Turkey Lurkey could not resist.
- 8:36Turkey Lurkey: I'll escort you along my very own path to the palace.
- 8:43Jonathan: And Turkey Lurkey led Goosey Loosey and Henny Penny along his fence line path to warn the king.
- 8:51Jonathan: Everyone was clucking, honking, and gobbling The sky is falling, the sky is falling the entire way.
- 9:00Jonathan: Soon they waddled into someone else.
- 9:04Redge: Let me guess.
- 9:05Redge: Their name rhymed
- 9:07Jonathan: Uh nope, it was a duck.
- 9:10Redge: So their name wasn't Ducky Lucky or Ducky Mucky, Ducky Plucky, or some other wibbly wobbly, tiny whimey rhymey thing
- 9:21Jonathan: Oh good reference, doctor.
- 9:24Redge: Who?
- 9:25Jonathan: se on first
- 9:26Redge: What?
- 9:27Jonathan: s on second
- 9:29Redge: I don't know.
- 9:30Jonathan: Third base
- 9:31Redge: Stop please I'm getting a headache.
- 9:35Jonathan: Oh no.
- 9:36Jonathan: Do you need to see a doctor?
- 9:38Redge: No, that's what started this whole thing.
- 9:41Redge: Let's get back to the story, shall we, Costello?
- 9:46Jonathan: Sure thing, Abbott.
- 9:47Jonathan: So his name was Ducky Daddles
- 9:57Redge: It's even better than I expected I've got to meet this Ducky Daddles some day
- 10:08Jonathan: He does sound like a fine feathered friend, doesn't he?
- 10:13Redge: Genius.
- 10:13Redge: Tell me more
- 10:16Jonathan: Right.
- 10:16Jonathan: So Henny Penny, Goosey Loosey, and Turkey Lurkey shared with Ducky Daddles that the sky was falling, and of course, Ducky Daddles was also in an uproar.
- 10:30Ducky Daddles: Say what?
- 10:31Ducky Daddles: How is that even possible?
- 10:34Ducky Daddles: We've got to warn the king.
- 10:37Turkey Lurkey: That's what we're doing.
- 10:39Henny Penny: We're headed that way.
- 10:41Henny Penny: If you'd like to join us
- 10:43Jonathan: Always the fearless leader, Henny Penny marched forward, with her foul friends falling in line behind her to warn the king that the sky was falling.
- 10:54Jonathan: When they reached the edge of the barnyard, guess what happened?
- 10:59Redge: Let me guess.
- 11:00Redge: They ran into another bird with a rhyme time nom de plume?
- 11:07Jonathan: Not this time.
- 11:09Redge: Ooh, I'm listening.
- 11:11Jonathan: A fox sidled up to the group and said
- 11:16Fox: Ah did you say the sky was falling?
- 11:22Jonathan: He asked with a sly grin.
- 11:24Jonathan: Yes, yes, all the birds called.
- 11:27Jonathan: The sky is falling, and we have to go warn the king before it's too late.
- 11:32Fox: Oh
- 11:36Jonathan: said the fox.
- 11:38Fox: If it's that big a deal, I can always help you get there faster.
- 11:47Jonathan: He suggested
- 11:49Fox: I have a burrow over there.
- 11:51Fox: That is an underground connection from the barnyard straight to where the king sleeps.
- 11:59Fox: You'll get there much faster, but we have to go through one at a time.
- 12:06Fox: It's too small for all of us at once.
- 12:09Fox: I'll lead each of you through and come back to help the next
- 12:17Redge: Hm something doesn't feel right about this.
- 12:20Jonathan: I agree.
- 12:21Jonathan: So the fox took Turkey Lurkey into the burrow, licking his lips and saying I'll be right back for the next one.
- 12:31Jonathan: And what do you think he did next?
- 12:38Redge: Did he capture Turkey Lurkey for his supper?
- 12:42Jonathan: He did.
- 12:42Jonathan: He trapped Turkey Lurkey in his burrow and then came back for Ducky Daddles.
- 12:49Redge: Not Ducky Daddles!
- 12:52Jonathan: Yes.
- 12:52Jonathan: He led our friend down into the burrow and tied him up right next to Turkey Lurkey, preparing for a feast.
- 13:00Jonathan: He kept coming back and forth, back and forth, sneakily capturing each bird so as not to arouse any suspicion, until Henny Penny was the only one left.
- 13:12Jonathan: She quietly followed him down into the burrow.
- 13:16Fox: Come along,
- 13:19Jonathan: he sneered, his hunger betraying his real intentions.
- 13:24Redge: Don't do it, Henny Penny!
- 13:26Jonathan: And as she followed the fox through his burrow, a familiar feeling crept into the pit of her stomach.
- 13:33Redge: Fear
- 13:34Jonathan: yes.
- 13:35Jonathan: Henny Penny had a heightened sense of fear, and she knew something was up.
- 13:39Jonathan: She noticed a trail of feathers, but didn't hear her friends waiting on the other side.
- 13:45Jonathan: She knew that it was time to spring into action.
- 13:48Jonathan: So, just before the fox went to catch her in his paws.
- 13:52Henny Penny: Did she run?
- 13:53Henny Penny: Did she yell out?
- 13:55Henny Penny: Did the sky fall?
- 13:57Jonathan: Nope.
- 13:58Jonathan: What Fox didn't know about Henny Penny was that she was well trained in self-defense by legendary martial arts master, Goose Lee.
- 14:09Jonathan: She expertly maneuvered her way through the burrow and grappled the critter to the ground.
- 14:22Henny Penny: Where did you hide my friends, you foul foe?
- 14:27Redge: Huzzah! The fox was defeated.
- 14:30Jonathan: That's right.
- 14:31Jonathan: Henny Penny uncovered his wicked plan to capture all the bird buddies and boil them for dinner.
- 14:38Fox: And I would have gotten away with it too, if it hadn't been for you and your waddling friends, and that pesky duck too.
- 14:47Ducky Daddles: You deserved it.
- 14:49Jonathan: After outclevering the fox, Henny Penny released her tied up friends, and they all escaped from the burrow, and they never worried about the sky falling again.
- 15:00Redge: Wait, is that the end of the story?
- 15:03Redge: Is there a moral?
- 15:04Jonathan: Sure there is.
- 15:05Jonathan: What do you think it was?
- 15:08Redge: Um don't trust foxes?
- 15:12Jonathan: Well, I've met many clever and kind foxes myself, so no, not the moral.
- 15:19Redge: Hmm.
- 15:19Redge: Uh maybe it was don't follow a fox into a burrow.
- 15:24Jonathan: Getting closer
- 15:26Redge: That uh having a rhyming name is funny?
- 15:30Jonathan: Uh well yes it is, but uh not quite.
- 15:34Jonathan: Ask yourself, what could Henny have learned from this experience?
- 15:39Redge: Maybe how to discern the difference between the sky and one acorn.
- 15:46Jonathan: Exactly.
- 15:47Jonathan: Sometimes our biggest worries and fears can lead us to some very big conclusions.
- 15:54Jonathan: And that's understandable.
- 15:56Jonathan: Anxiety can be really tough and cloud our vision.
- 16:00Jonathan: But it's good to find some tools to help us sort out what's happening and ease our worry.
- 16:07Jonathan: We can even learn how to call on friends to help us figure things out.
- 16:12Redge: And as those friends, we can learn how to ask more questions, listen, and understand the very big worries and where they're really coming from, instead of fanning the flames as it were.
- 16:27Jonathan: Right.
- 16:28Jonathan: The second moral of this story is that being worried about something can be a good thing.
- 16:35Redge: Oh yes, sometimes our nerves keep us safe, like when Henny Penny just knew the fox was leading her into a trap.
- 16:44Jonathan: Exactly.
- 16:46Jonathan: We have to listen to what our gut is telling us to keep us safe.
- 16:51Jonathan: But when we start to feel like the sky is falling, it's good to take a step back, listen even more deeply, and call on some pals.
- 17:00Jonathan: That way we can still go out there and live life to the fullest.
- 17:05Redge: So you're saying I'm a bit like Henny Penny?
- 17:09Jonathan: Yes.
- 17:10Jonathan: Uncertainty is very scary, and that fear is hard to shake.
- 17:16Jonathan: But I love that Henny Penny and her friends learned more about how to listen to and understand those feelings.
- 17:23Jonathan: And Redge, I'll always be your Goosey Loosey, Turkey Lurkey, or Ducky Daddles.
- 17:31Redge: Thank you, mate, for helping make my night less scary.
- 17:36Redge: I appreciate you answering our personal NJ,INYTCSMRN bat signal.
- 17:42Jonathan: I BT 4 U whenever you need me, Redge.
- 17:45Jonathan: Now, uh next time you wake up in the middle of the night with anxiety about something that could go wrong or be dangerous, you can think about Henny Penny.
- 17:56Redge: Righto! Trust my gut and think about the bigger picture.
- 18:01Jonathan: Even from under your covers.
- 18:07Redge: Hey, friend, uh are you tired?
- 18:12Jonathan: I'm just uh just a little sleepy.
- 18:15Jonathan: Think I can borrow your top bunk and nap until morning?
- 18:20Jonathan: It's too far to walk to my house right now.
- 18:24Redge: Of course, mate, climb on up.
- 18:27Jonathan: Thanks.
- 18:28Jonathan: Ooh, this is a comfy bed.
- 18:33Redge: Shall we count some sheep to get us back to sleep?
- 18:37Jonathan: Or maybe birds.
- 18:40Redge: Brilliant! One Turkey Lurkey
- 18:44Jonathan: two goosey loosey
- 18:46Redge: three tucky daddles
- 18:50Jonathan: four hen penn
- 18:59Redge: That's four henny penny mate.
- 19:01Redge: Mate?
- 19:02Redge: Oh right.
- 19:04Redge: Sleep well, my friend.
- 19:07Redge: I know I will.
