- 0:00Speaker 1: This is Football at four.
- 0:02Speaker 2: I think there were some some good moments in the
- 0:04Speaker 2: run game today, got ourselves behind instead a bit in
- 0:07Speaker 2: the second half on some of some of the some
- 0:09Speaker 2: of the runs there. So we'll we'll look at everything
- 0:12Speaker 2: right there. We know we have the guys up front
- 0:15Speaker 2: to be able to do that. Obviously we got we
- 0:17Speaker 2: got to do a good job pointing them in positions
- 0:19Speaker 2: and succeed and then we got to go execute. So
- 0:22Speaker 2: you know, we'll we'll look at everything. You know, running
- 0:25Speaker 2: a bunch of different types of schemes, but you know,
- 0:27Speaker 2: we'll look at we'll look at everything to see what
- 0:30Speaker 2: we're doing well and treat this like a bye week
- 0:32Speaker 2: here this weekend.
- 0:33Speaker 1: Nick Sirianni. Last night, after a pathetic Eagles effort in
- 0:37Speaker 1: the loss against the New York Football Giants, we're unpacking
- 0:41Speaker 1: this Eagles loss to the Giants for Today's Football at Four,
- 0:43Speaker 1: powered by the Inside of the Birds podcast and brought
- 0:46Speaker 1: to you by our friends over at the Fanatics Sports
- 0:48Speaker 1: Book at Ocean Casino Resort in Atlantic City. And of
- 0:52Speaker 1: course we'll be there on Monday when the Eagles look
- 0:56Speaker 1: to get ready for the Minnesota Vikings. But first let's
- 0:59Speaker 1: unpack this lost Adam Kaplin to the New York Giants,
- 1:01Speaker 1: and I don't even know where you started. It was
- 1:04Speaker 1: one of the most embarrassing losses that I can remember
- 1:06Speaker 1: in doing the show in terms of the quality of
- 1:09Speaker 1: where you think you are versus the quality of where
- 1:11Speaker 1: you think they are. And they got whip last night.
- 1:16Speaker 1: It wasn't a fair fight.
- 1:19Speaker 3: Yeah they did.
- 1:20Speaker 4: There's no doubt. You know, Jalen Carr not being able
- 1:22Speaker 4: to push off that heel. That's why he didn't play.
- 1:24Speaker 4: You know, he had that injury as coming out of
- 1:27Speaker 4: Wednesday's walk through.
- 1:28Speaker 3: That's never good.
- 1:28Speaker 4: And soon as I saw game haul up like he's
- 1:31Speaker 4: not playing and he didn't Byron Young starter for him.
- 1:34Speaker 4: But the big honest Quinnion Mitchell's injury. Mike, let me
- 1:37Speaker 4: just go into a couple of things. The first away,
- 1:38Speaker 4: he's got a hamstering injury, so he was supposed to
- 1:41Speaker 4: get amri today. Look, he couldn't come back in the game.
- 1:44Speaker 4: That's not a good sign. I know they've got some
- 1:46Speaker 4: extra time here. But we knew this because we talked
- 1:51Speaker 4: about it the entire offseason that Negos probably would regret
- 1:55Speaker 4: thinking that Ringo or Jackson could be starters Mitchell that
- 2:00Speaker 4: obviously with a mistake, they never should have done that. Well,
- 2:02Speaker 4: here's what happens. If you remember in the game Ringo,
- 2:06Speaker 4: Ringo gets quasi bench like they pull him, they put Jackson,
- 2:10Speaker 4: and then Mitchell gets hurt. So Ringo's got to go
- 2:12Speaker 4: back to the game and Jackson's got to move over.
- 2:15Speaker 4: And that's it.
- 2:16Speaker 3: I mean that Parry.
- 2:16Speaker 4: Nickerson, they basically just put on special teams. And remember
- 2:19Speaker 4: Mac McWilliams was healthy and active, so you knew that
- 2:23Speaker 4: the Giants do won't be throwing the ball a lot
- 2:25Speaker 4: with a rookie quarterback when they throw Mike, So Ringo
- 2:28Speaker 4: give up that thirty plus yard or to little Jordan Humphrey.
- 2:32Speaker 4: If you never heard him before.
- 2:33Speaker 3: Now you know who he is.
- 2:34Speaker 4: By the way, he's a guy that Sean Payton used
- 2:37Speaker 4: to coach with the Saints. It's a journeyman. They just
- 2:40Speaker 4: activate him off to practice squad for the game. Mike,
- 2:42Speaker 4: that's not good. When if they had a pass it
- 2:45Speaker 4: got to be the point with the Giants, and he
- 2:48Speaker 4: was lack of a pass rush, which we'll get into
- 2:49Speaker 4: it a couple of minutes. Then at this point, Mike
- 2:52Speaker 4: I was like watching, Like gosh, if they decided to
- 2:54Speaker 4: throw the ball thirty times some more. Thuse, Mike, give
- 2:57Speaker 4: up three fifty to four hundred.
- 2:58Speaker 3: That's how bad it was.
- 2:59Speaker 4: And their past rush wasn't very good. But well, let
- 3:01Speaker 4: let's get started offense here. So the two turnovers, Mike, Look,
- 3:07Speaker 4: this is Heart's first turnover. Did have a fumble earlier
- 3:10Speaker 4: in the season, but they recovered it. Then A J.
- 3:12Speaker 4: Tayllen had the fumble, so they lost the turnover battle.
- 3:15Speaker 4: That was a problem. The running game. You mention it.
- 3:19Speaker 4: Here's a question for you, Mike, what is more pathetic
- 3:22Speaker 4: the Eagles running game of season or the Phillies lack
- 3:25Speaker 4: of offense in the playoffs.
- 3:26Speaker 3: I mean, it's kind of white the same thing. They're terrible.
- 3:29Speaker 1: It is it is well, I would say it's a
- 3:31Speaker 1: good question because it's perplexing to me, even even last
- 3:35Speaker 1: year at times. I mean, we had these conversations about
- 3:37Speaker 1: how you have Aj Brown, DeVante Smith, Dallas Goddard, Saquell
- 3:40Speaker 1: Barkley and the offensive line that you have and you struggle.
- 3:43Speaker 1: I said, you should roll out of bed with that
- 3:44Speaker 1: offense and score thirty points like you should be like
- 3:47Speaker 1: I have so many points to score. I don't even
- 3:50Speaker 1: know where I want to start this week. Yet they
- 3:52Speaker 1: constantly struggle, and part of it is a we're gonna
- 3:56Speaker 1: utilize our rushing attack, run out the clock, and therefore
- 3:59Speaker 1: you don't score as much because the clock's always running.
- 4:02Speaker 1: But you're getting these big explosive plays. But they can't
- 4:04Speaker 1: do that right now. But for them to have the
- 4:06Speaker 1: talent and now the Phillies, I can understand. The top
- 4:09Speaker 1: three guys are what they are for.
- 4:10Speaker 3: Can you be? But Mike, they can't the top three
- 4:13Speaker 3: You just mentioned it right, No, No, I'm saying, don't
- 4:15Speaker 3: accept that the top three in a row.
- 4:17Speaker 1: Yeah, I agree, But Adam, I say to me the Eagle. Now,
- 4:21Speaker 1: the offensive line right now for the Eagles is a problem.
- 4:23Speaker 4: We're gonna get into that. Yeah, well that's all my point.
- 4:25Speaker 3: Keep going.
- 4:25Speaker 1: But I would say that the offensive line is what
- 4:28Speaker 1: you have had. The Eagles offense is more complete. The
- 4:32Speaker 1: line's good, the receivers are good, the tight ends good.
- 4:34Speaker 1: The running the Eagles after are the Phillies after? The
- 4:37Speaker 1: third guy in the lineup stink. I mean, Brandon marshitting
- 4:40Speaker 1: fifth on a playoff team is discreete you.
- 4:42Speaker 3: Know, bomb fourth. I mean, are you kidding? He's not
- 4:45Speaker 3: a clean up hitter. That's just exactly bomb forth Marsh.
- 4:50Speaker 4: Mike, I wish we were doing a Philly show together,
- 4:53Speaker 4: so I know you love baseball as much as I do,
- 4:54Speaker 4: and you played it. I mean, I literally could fill
- 4:57Speaker 4: two hours easily on the Phillies the season and in
- 5:01Speaker 4: how I was still worried about them being unable to hit.
- 5:03Speaker 4: But let's get back to the Eagles, which is why
- 5:05Speaker 4: I'm on here, and this is you know, it's interesting
- 5:08Speaker 4: you heard what I heard as you introduced me, what
- 5:11Speaker 4: Cirianni said about the running game. First of all, yes,
- 5:15Speaker 4: the first two runs were Barkley thirty a total thirty
- 5:18Speaker 4: one yards is longest run of the season by the
- 5:19Speaker 4: way of eighteen. And the holes were great.
- 5:21Speaker 3: Wow.
- 5:22Speaker 4: I was like, okay, this is a good front to
- 5:23Speaker 4: Giants have. After that, Mike, it's like they knew what
- 5:27Speaker 4: the Eagles were doing. They completely shut them down. This
- 5:30Speaker 4: is something we're not sure of. We're specketting a little bit, Mike,
- 5:34Speaker 4: but we greco Sell helped us with it because we
- 5:36Speaker 4: all felt the same way. Something is going wrong with
- 5:40Speaker 4: Eagles not running outside runs. They're not they're outside zone,
- 5:43Speaker 4: which is a big staple for them.
- 5:45Speaker 3: They're not doing it.
- 5:46Speaker 4: They're not been tossing the ball and letting Barkley get around.
- 5:48Speaker 4: In our thought process, and this is what you were
- 5:51Speaker 4: talking about earlier with the running game and what the
- 5:53Speaker 4: problem is. And I know you're kind of alluding to
- 5:57Speaker 4: it not being the same.
- 5:57Speaker 3: Well, Mike.
- 6:00Speaker 4: Talked for I don't know how many weeks that Jurgens
- 6:02Speaker 4: clearly is not himself coming off the back surgery. He
- 6:05Speaker 4: kind of confirmed it going on the record after the
- 6:08Speaker 4: Denver game. And then you've got Dickerson, who's an unable
- 6:11Speaker 4: to play, who's dealing with Mike so many different surgeries,
- 6:14Speaker 4: and he doesn't look right Mike physically. So the interior
- 6:17Speaker 4: offensive line, you've got a first time full time starting
- 6:20Speaker 4: Tyler Stein right, but okay, not great. Blaine Johnson is
- 6:25Speaker 4: going to go to the Hall of Fame. He's a
- 6:27Speaker 4: great football player now, just talking to people of great
- 6:30Speaker 4: tape for us, he doesn't look quite the same. Not bad,
- 6:33Speaker 4: he's still good, but he's not elite right now in
- 6:36Speaker 4: the way.
- 6:36Speaker 3: That the tape would show you.
- 6:37Speaker 4: It's not it's not what numbers would tell you. It's
- 6:39Speaker 4: more of a tape study information, and Jeremy Lata is
- 6:43Speaker 4: having some Occasionally he'll have plays that are not quite
- 6:46Speaker 4: sure my lot alike like that we expect from Mike.
- 6:49Speaker 4: If you add this up, when did we talk about
- 6:52Speaker 4: any of this stuff last season? About not not one
- 6:55Speaker 4: problem that we had with the offensive line last season?
- 6:57Speaker 1: The offensive line right, it was pretty crazy to say
- 7:00Speaker 1: for pretty much other than the four weeks my lot
- 7:02Speaker 1: of miss you were healthy from left to right the
- 7:04Speaker 1: whole way through. That just doesn't happen. And now you're
- 7:06Speaker 1: having that. So the offense. Some of the things that
- 7:08Speaker 1: you unpack is the offense turned the ball over last
- 7:12Speaker 1: night too, so you had an interception. Then you had
- 7:13Speaker 1: the Dylan fumble late, which you know that thing was
- 7:16Speaker 1: just by that point you were at a U it
- 7:18Speaker 1: was over. But he had fumbled on the kickoff too, Mike.
- 7:21Speaker 4: This kickoff thing, and that's on my notes here about
- 7:25Speaker 4: special teams. They make the trade for tech picks, they
- 7:28Speaker 4: give up two late round picks. They basically pulled them
- 7:31Speaker 4: off of it because he couldn't hold on the football.
- 7:33Speaker 4: So they've got problems Mike offensively though. Mike in the
- 7:37Speaker 4: sec zero points of the second half. They've only scored
- 7:40Speaker 4: fourteen points in total in the last three games in
- 7:43Speaker 4: the second half. It's kind of weird. I don't understand
- 7:46Speaker 4: that one either. I'll be honest with you, Mike, there's
- 7:49Speaker 4: so many things going with this football team.
- 7:51Speaker 3: Now.
- 7:51Speaker 4: You want to look, they are four and two. Okay,
- 7:53Speaker 4: let's not forget that, but there are issues with this
- 7:57Speaker 4: football team that there's so many.
- 7:58Speaker 3: Problems right now. You know.
- 8:02Speaker 4: I like what Nick said, they're gonna treat this like
- 8:04Speaker 4: a new rule. By what did he mean? The coaches
- 8:06Speaker 4: will self scout now, I'll be interested. I don't know
- 8:10Speaker 4: if Nick will talk about it typically talking to coaches
- 8:13Speaker 4: over the years that when you play a Thursday game,
- 8:16Speaker 4: you give the coaches Friday and Saturdy off to come
- 8:18Speaker 4: in studying grade the tape after getting schlack like that,
- 8:22Speaker 4: I would if I'm Nick, I want everyone in today.
- 8:24Speaker 1: I'm not.
- 8:25Speaker 3: I'm not giving this guys the weekend off. I was that.
- 8:27Speaker 4: I don't care, like they were not prepared Mike for
- 8:30Speaker 4: that game. Coaches are players, that's and it starts.
- 8:33Speaker 3: With the coaches.
- 8:34Speaker 4: That that was an embarrassing effort. I love the way
- 8:36Speaker 4: you actually said that, and I agree with you.
- 8:38Speaker 3: It was absolutely embarrassing, totally.
- 8:40Speaker 1: I mean, and they got taken into the woodshed by
- 8:42Speaker 1: the New York Football Giants. Who listen, their offensive line
- 8:45Speaker 1: not great, right, It's not like and they got beat
- 8:47Speaker 1: up on the offensive but they got beat up by
- 8:49Speaker 1: the Giants offensive line and their defensive line.
- 8:52Speaker 4: I couldn't believe it, Mike, I gotta. I'm so glad
- 8:54Speaker 4: you set it up like that.
- 8:56Speaker 3: I was wrong.
- 8:56Speaker 4: Well, I wasn't wrong in theory, but it went up
- 8:59Speaker 4: not happening.
- 9:00Speaker 3: I thought for sure.
- 9:01Speaker 4: I know the Eagle's defensive line or defensive front has
- 9:03Speaker 4: been inconsistent, but knowing what I know about the right
- 9:07Speaker 4: side of the Giants offensive line.
- 9:09Speaker 3: Jermaina Luminor.
- 9:10Speaker 4: I met Ermaine a couple of years ago at the
- 9:11Speaker 4: Super Bowl.
- 9:13Speaker 3: He was from the area. He's a really good dude.
- 9:15Speaker 3: Like talking to him.
- 9:16Speaker 4: But let's face it, he's a journeyman tackle from the
- 9:19Speaker 4: formerly the Raiders and Patriots. He's sort of seen as
- 9:22Speaker 4: a guard right tackle. Well, he played real well. Greg
- 9:26Speaker 4: Van Roten from University of Pennsylvania. I cannot believe this
- 9:31Speaker 4: guy still in the league. He was an undirected free
- 9:33Speaker 4: agent Mike in twenty twelve Mike twenty twelve for the Packers.
- 9:37Speaker 4: He's been with I think seven or eight teams.
- 9:40Speaker 3: He played really well. How the heck they got blown
- 9:44Speaker 3: off the ball?
- 9:44Speaker 4: I totally was I haven't even seen the tape yet.
- 9:47Speaker 4: I haven't talked to anyone but someone I really respect
- 9:51Speaker 4: from another team who actually watched the game. He's out scouting.
- 9:54Speaker 4: He actually watched the game from his room. He didn't
- 9:56Speaker 4: have access to the All twenty two. That's not available,
- 9:58Speaker 4: he said. Phillys de Lion got handled, man handled it.
- 10:01Speaker 4: I'm like, how do you know that it goes? Trust me,
- 10:03Speaker 4: I know what I'm looking at. I'm like, okay, so
- 10:06Speaker 4: think about that, Mike.
- 10:07Speaker 3: Why does this ever happen? It's hard to.
- 10:10Speaker 1: Police, especially against a team like the Giants, whose offensive
- 10:13Speaker 1: line is a mega problem for them. Like that's one
- 10:15Speaker 1: of the reasons why the Giants struggles so much. It's like,
- 10:18Speaker 1: you know, they can't do anything because the line is
- 10:21Speaker 1: so bad. And for them to do what they did
- 10:23Speaker 1: to that defense last night, the defensive front last night,
- 10:26Speaker 1: that's something I want to get into in just a moment.
- 10:28Speaker 1: I want to kind of get back to this offense
- 10:30Speaker 1: because hirts sure non factor in the run game. Throws
- 10:33Speaker 1: the interception. What's going on with him right there in
- 10:36Speaker 1: the run game and then missing guys. I mean, people
- 10:38Speaker 1: keep blaming Kevin Badullo, but there's some plays out there, man,
- 10:44Speaker 1: I know, I.
- 10:44Speaker 4: Look, obviously he's calling the plays. He's part of the issue.
- 10:48Speaker 4: And Lane Shohnson that comment about that's a true predictable
- 10:54Speaker 4: Lane did not really explain what that meant. I mean,
- 10:56Speaker 4: but it doesn't. That's not what you want from your
- 10:59Speaker 4: veteran player. Like, but he did go on the record
- 11:01Speaker 4: after the game to say that. Hope the media asked
- 11:03Speaker 4: him next time they get him exactly to define what
- 11:05Speaker 4: that meant.
- 11:05Speaker 3: But it hurts. Look, first half.
- 11:08Speaker 4: Big yardage, that was a great thing to see.
- 11:10Speaker 3: But you touched on it earlier.
- 11:12Speaker 4: MI Like, they've got to get the run game going,
- 11:13Speaker 4: and he's a complete non factor of the run game.
- 11:15Speaker 3: I'm stunned by this.
- 11:16Speaker 4: This is now. Greg Costell told us that the Broncos,
- 11:21Speaker 4: based on his tape study, completely have them figured out
- 11:24Speaker 4: coming into the game because teams they're running the same concepts,
- 11:28Speaker 4: even with the hurry up or RPOs, they know exactly
- 11:33Speaker 4: what to do to it.
- 11:33Speaker 3: And that's the thing.
- 11:35Speaker 4: The Eagles are running the same scheme now for five years,
- 11:38Speaker 4: with little tweaks like Kellam Moore tweaks some stuff last year.
- 11:42Speaker 3: Still the same scheme.
- 11:43Speaker 4: I'm told teams know what they're getting here, Mike, It's yeah, okay,
- 11:46Speaker 4: it's predictable. They're running the same scheme. But yet, why
- 11:50Speaker 4: is it that they have these good halfs so it
- 11:52Speaker 4: sound like it's all bad.
- 11:53Speaker 1: They have hurt They had two they had two drives,
- 11:57Speaker 1: a seven place seventy five yard drive and an eight
- 11:59Speaker 1: place seventy four years it looked like they were finally
- 12:02Speaker 1: getting into something here. But as a lot of these
- 12:04Speaker 1: guys are saying after the second half, these defenses are
- 12:06Speaker 1: changing their looks on you, and the Eagles cannot adapt
- 12:09Speaker 1: to it.
- 12:09Speaker 4: For whatever he has shut out, right, So that's a
- 12:12Speaker 4: really good coaching by the defense. You saw Todd Bolt
- 12:14Speaker 4: do it because hurts. It's really odd.
- 12:16Speaker 3: It hurts.
- 12:16Speaker 4: This phenomenal against the Blitz this year. It's like last year,
- 12:19Speaker 4: like twenty thirty was terrible, last year improved. But now
- 12:21Speaker 4: he's it's like he's getting it out quickly.
- 12:24Speaker 3: Now. That does By the way.
- 12:25Speaker 4: Just so you know, we haven't talked about this enough,
- 12:27Speaker 4: we'll move to defense in the second. When you get
- 12:31Speaker 4: rid of the ball quickly, sometimes too quickly, you're taking
- 12:34Speaker 4: off the yards after the catch. That's part of why
- 12:37Speaker 4: not last night because he had a.
- 12:39Speaker 3: Good yardage game.
- 12:40Speaker 4: But when you're looking to get rid of the ball
- 12:41Speaker 4: so quickly, you're not going to have big plays downfield. Yeah,
- 12:44Speaker 4: you're all getting it, you're not taking a sack, and
- 12:46Speaker 4: you're helping your completion percent. So this will think, Mike,
- 12:49Speaker 4: let's move on from here. But it's a major work
- 12:51Speaker 4: in progress.
- 12:52Speaker 3: I'll tell you what.
- 12:53Speaker 4: We'll talk more about this on Friday when we preview
- 12:55Speaker 4: the game against the Vikings in Minneapolis. It could be
- 12:57Speaker 4: Carston Wentz by the way they they if they look
- 13:01Speaker 4: flat again, Mike, then I'm going to be all in
- 13:02Speaker 4: saying this is twenty twenty three.
- 13:04Speaker 3: Again. I don't have that vibe like other people do.
- 13:06Speaker 4: I know, I'm sort of like on a on the
- 13:08Speaker 4: minority right now. I get it, but it's I'm not
- 13:11Speaker 4: saying it's not trending that way for me. But right
- 13:13Speaker 4: now I'm not totally there where everyone else seems to be.
- 13:15Speaker 1: All right, let's go to the defense, because they got
- 13:17Speaker 1: taken to the woodshed as well. Poor tackling. The offensive
- 13:20Speaker 1: line just absolutely destroyed you. And I'll tell you what
- 13:23Speaker 1: they at the By the second half of that game, Adam,
- 13:26Speaker 1: they were taking joy in lowering the shoulder and running
- 13:29Speaker 1: you over.
- 13:30Speaker 3: I couldn't believe it, Mike.
- 13:31Speaker 4: I saw it. Scatterbow talk about a guy who was
- 13:34Speaker 4: talking smack. I don't know if you saw the video
- 13:35Speaker 4: after the game with the Amazon group, you know the
- 13:40Speaker 4: guys after the game, Yeah, they were. Now, now don't
- 13:43Speaker 4: forget they played in Philly two weeks from now. We'll
- 13:46Speaker 4: stay where the Eagles are at Meley for that game.
- 13:48Speaker 4: But yes, I could not believe how physical they were.
- 13:52Speaker 3: Against his front. I know Geleen Carter didn't play. I
- 13:54Speaker 3: get that.
- 13:55Speaker 4: You need to mention that Byron Young is an Okay, backup, Okay,
- 13:59Speaker 4: remember it bother the way you know they When the
- 14:00Speaker 4: Eagles traded Thomas Booker, I kind of hitted he might
- 14:02Speaker 4: be starting. Thomas Booker starts for the Raiders.
- 14:05Speaker 1: Listen, okay, my buddy qu Myers, who covers the Raiders
- 14:08Speaker 1: out there. He texted me immediately, what are we getting
- 14:10Speaker 1: in Booker? I said, I don't know why they didn't
- 14:13Speaker 1: use him more. Every time he got on the field
- 14:14Speaker 1: here he seemed to be in the backfield making a play.
- 14:17Speaker 4: Yeah, he's a good football player, but the thing is Mike.
- 14:21Speaker 4: And again I know that Dart didn't drop back much,
- 14:23Speaker 4: and he did run a little bit. You know, he's
- 14:25Speaker 4: actually his first three games starts of his careers over
- 14:27Speaker 4: fifty years per game. But the lack of a pet
- 14:30Speaker 4: rush that was the thing. Again, there was I mentioned
- 14:33Speaker 4: Greg Greg Van Roten from University of Pennsylvania who's now
- 14:36Speaker 4: thirty five years old, playing right guard. They couldn't beat
- 14:39Speaker 4: Luminar or Van Roten. I just don't understand that. Fanjo's
- 14:44Speaker 4: got to figure it out. I don't on Vick as
- 14:46Speaker 4: much as we praise him from day one. I don't
- 14:49Speaker 4: quite understand what that defensive game plan was. I said, now,
- 14:51Speaker 4: and obviously you lose Mitchell, you don't have you don't
- 14:54Speaker 4: have Carter. You're gonna have to just on the fly.
- 14:57Speaker 4: But they were bad early in the game, like this
- 14:59Speaker 4: was not like, oh well, these guys are in the game,
- 15:02Speaker 4: and particularly Mitchell, and then they started off really well
- 15:04Speaker 4: against the Eagles. Eagles got down early, as you know,
- 15:06Speaker 4: big I'll give the Eagles credit for fighting back actually
- 15:09Speaker 4: taking Lee briefly, and then the secondary Mike, Oh boy,
- 15:13Speaker 4: it was an absolute disaster.
- 15:15Speaker 1: Well, I will before we get to the secondary real quick.
- 15:18Speaker 1: When they did get a pass rush, this is where
- 15:21Speaker 1: Dart was dangerous because he just kept like extending the
- 15:24Speaker 1: play running around. It looked like you were watching, you know,
- 15:26Speaker 1: Johnny Manziel at Texas A and m.
- 15:29Speaker 4: Well, you know, it's funny because Fansy has said he
- 15:31Speaker 4: compared to Baker Mayfield. He said, look, the guy could run,
- 15:33Speaker 4: you know, and he well he talked said that about Knicks,
- 15:36Speaker 4: but he said the same thing. He's like the other
- 15:38Speaker 4: two guys we faced. So yeah, he could run. And
- 15:41Speaker 4: today's guy, today's quarterbacks are no longer just drop back
- 15:43Speaker 4: past a lot of more athletic and could run. I
- 15:46Speaker 4: just the touchdown run that he had. I mean, talk
- 15:50Speaker 4: about the Red Sea harding. I mean that I don't
- 15:52Speaker 4: know what happened there, Mike, but they they have a lot,
- 15:55Speaker 4: They've got a lot of corrections. It's kind of like
- 15:57Speaker 4: the Dan broke them both sides of the football, and
- 16:00Speaker 4: now you got defensive injuries, so they got a lot
- 16:01Speaker 4: to clean up here.
- 16:02Speaker 1: Let me, you were going into the secondary Ringo. I
- 16:04Speaker 1: mean he lets the guy catch a pass the front
- 16:06Speaker 1: and the guy goes down. Ringo never touched him again.
- 16:08Speaker 1: It's almost like he just gave it. They picked on
- 16:10Speaker 1: Ringo all night. I mean, oh, he had a rough night.
- 16:13Speaker 1: Then Mitchell goes out and it just went downhill from there.
- 16:16Speaker 3: Yeah.
- 16:16Speaker 4: Look, I'm not saying it's gonna happen by next week.
- 16:19Speaker 4: But it didn't stop the Browns and Jaguars the trade deadlines.
- 16:23Speaker 4: Not till the first Tuesday November. Jaguars and and Uh
- 16:27Speaker 4: and Browns made swap cornerbacks, a very odd trade from
- 16:30Speaker 4: major trade. But it's very fascinating. Though he asked with you,
- 16:34Speaker 4: it will not surprised me with the next week. How
- 16:35Speaker 4: he's got a corner in here. He's got to do something.
- 16:38Speaker 4: I know it's hard to trade for corners. Who's gonna
- 16:40Speaker 4: geup at starting corner? Typically look to the bad teams.
- 16:43Speaker 4: But man, Mike, if let me tye something. If Mitchell
- 16:46Speaker 4: doesn't play next week, imagine Ringo and Jackson against Justin Jefferson.
- 16:51Speaker 3: Are you serious, an Addison? Are you serious? Get out
- 16:55Speaker 3: of here like that that they're giving me up fifty
- 16:57Speaker 3: next week?
- 16:58Speaker 1: If that can you just think about what you just said, Adam.
- 17:01Speaker 1: Do you ever think there was a time this season
- 17:03Speaker 1: no you were going to talk about him the Eagles
- 17:07Speaker 1: defense giving up a fIF like being a weakness.
- 17:11Speaker 4: I'm joking about fifty, but they would give up. By
- 17:13Speaker 4: the way, Carson Wentz I was talking to grek Sell
- 17:16Speaker 4: about this because he stopped. He wanted he wanted to
- 17:18Speaker 4: tell me how good he looked. So the Mechanks were
- 17:20Speaker 4: really good last week against Cleveland. He had no turnovers,
- 17:23Speaker 4: he looked healthy, moving well. I mean, how can Minnesota
- 17:27Speaker 4: go back.
- 17:27Speaker 3: To McCarthy the way? That hurts? I'm not hurt.
- 17:29Speaker 4: So Wentz played him, by the way against Pittsburgh, Yess,
- 17:32Speaker 4: he did turn it over three times, but he looked decent.
- 17:34Speaker 4: He improved on it. They're coming off their bye week,
- 17:36Speaker 4: by the way.
- 17:37Speaker 3: But yeah, boy, the Eagles mike both sides of the football.
- 17:41Speaker 1: It's not just no, no, not both sides of the football.
- 17:44Speaker 1: Special team. Don't let them off the hook either, man.
- 17:46Speaker 3: I can't believe this.
- 17:47Speaker 4: By the way, Sidney Brown, I know vic Vick has
- 17:50Speaker 4: had enough of Sidney Brown because because you saw what
- 17:53Speaker 4: happened black a ship leagues, who does he put in
- 17:55Speaker 4: Marcus Absout just got elevated from the practice squad, and
- 17:58Speaker 4: another special he's spending from Sidney Brown. And Andrew Cheko
- 18:02Speaker 4: and I were talking earlier today. Andrew talk because he's
- 18:04Speaker 4: sitting in the press box. He said Brown came real
- 18:06Speaker 4: close to getting second penalty. I mean, at this point,
- 18:09Speaker 4: what I know Citi Brown is a good special teams player.
- 18:12Speaker 4: They clearly don't trust them on defense. And then these
- 18:15Speaker 4: I know that now that we'll get to the the
- 18:17Speaker 4: UH deposits in a second, but these special teams returns,
- 18:21Speaker 4: are you serious?
- 18:22Speaker 3: Terrible?
- 18:22Speaker 1: Awful, awful, and they traded for multiple guys to try
- 18:26Speaker 1: to do that role.
- 18:27Speaker 4: Embarrassing, absolut Howie look two picks he gave their responses
- 18:32Speaker 4: that Bixby has a two year deal and he could
- 18:34Speaker 4: replace Dylan next year. That's fine, but it looks like
- 18:36Speaker 4: a disaster so far.
- 18:38Speaker 1: Sure does any positives in the night there at CAF.
- 18:41Speaker 4: Have a couple very quickly four penalties. I had to
- 18:43Speaker 4: really search for some time for season low because I
- 18:46Speaker 4: look at that stuff except the penalties only.
- 18:48Speaker 3: Four that's good.
- 18:49Speaker 4: Pats Protect was actually really good, Mike. They had a
- 18:52Speaker 4: couple of lapses Hurts him plenty of time. Goddard really
- 18:55Speaker 4: really good to see Hurts at Goddard, Mike and there
- 18:57Speaker 4: and there in their their chemistry which we saw training
- 19:00Speaker 4: camp as always saying I've learned my lesson. Just because
- 19:03Speaker 4: you see trade camp doesn't mean you'll see it in
- 19:05Speaker 4: the regular season. But what got her and Hurts are
- 19:06Speaker 4: doing well and bother Braidon Man and jake Yella. At
- 19:10Speaker 4: least those guys are.
- 19:11Speaker 3: They're the best part of the football team right now.
- 19:14Speaker 1: Gonna good Man's legs is gonna fall off.
- 19:17Speaker 3: My god, look the forward too. I know we're extremely negative.
- 19:22Speaker 4: It's a job to tell the truth without purposely being it.
- 19:24Speaker 4: How do you Because I'm looking at our YouTube board,
- 19:27Speaker 4: people are going out of their minds. They want everyone fired,
- 19:29Speaker 4: a couple because it always happens. One guy alluded to
- 19:32Speaker 4: Laurie should sell the team. He didn't quite say that,
- 19:33Speaker 4: but he hanted, I love these fans. I I actually
- 19:37Speaker 4: look forward to when I got up this one. I
- 19:39Speaker 4: could wait to read it because Jeff and I we
- 19:41Speaker 4: talked our show out a sixth cert. We actually taped
- 19:43Speaker 4: it this morning, by the way, and people were waiting
- 19:46Speaker 4: for us to post it. They were killing everyone. It's
- 19:48Speaker 4: actually a good theater, folks. If you want to get
- 19:50Speaker 4: a good laugh, free to chime in.
- 19:53Speaker 1: My favorite part of my favorite part of the text
- 19:56Speaker 1: board is I'm watching the Phillies game last night and
- 19:59Speaker 1: people are hexting in while we're not even on the air.
- 20:02Speaker 1: You know, ripping this, doing that. This guy's terrible, Fire Thompson.
- 20:07Speaker 1: It's just uh, it's it's why we love what we do.
- 20:09Speaker 1: Some days, right, these are the days I do.
- 20:12Speaker 4: Real quick, what is your thoughts on top Er Starego.
- 20:16Speaker 1: I think they gotta replace him, not because I think
- 20:18Speaker 1: that he's the problem. I just don't. It's like Brett Brown.
- 20:20Speaker 1: You just can't keep bringing him back again. It's over.
- 20:22Speaker 1: Like they tried four times. It hasn't worked. And here's
- 20:25Speaker 1: the problem as I see it, I don't know how
- 20:28Speaker 1: they're gonna. Like everyone says, you gotta change this team,
- 20:30Speaker 1: I don't know how they're gonna. You gotta get really
- 20:32Speaker 1: creative to change this team up. So you can't bring
- 20:35Speaker 1: back the manager and Harper and Turner and marsh and
- 20:38Speaker 1: real Muto and Schwarber, you know what I mean. Like
- 20:40Speaker 1: something has to change. So he basically has to be
- 20:43Speaker 1: the sacrificial lamb.
- 20:44Speaker 4: In my opinion, Mike, they have to have a brand
- 20:46Speaker 4: new outfield and that that's that'll happen. They know us,
- 20:50Speaker 4: And I cannot believe that Dombrowski thought that the marsh
- 20:55Speaker 4: and Rojas center field was gonna work, Like my ninety
- 20:59Speaker 4: five year old mom knew that wouldn't work. Really dumb and.
- 21:02Speaker 1: That and I just don't understand, and I don't understand.
- 21:05Speaker 1: You never gave the kid Crawford a shot, like, Okay,
- 21:08Speaker 1: this kid is having one of the three best statistical
- 21:11Speaker 1: Minor league seasons in like the last ten years, and
- 21:13Speaker 1: you never said, you know what, let's see if this
- 21:15Speaker 1: guy can be better than Rojas, like you give Rojas
- 21:19Speaker 1: a shot. By the way, you know what I saw
- 21:20Speaker 1: the day that made me really open my eyes about Rojas.
- 21:23Speaker 3: Uh huh.
- 21:23Speaker 1: He's only twenty five years old. That means in twenty
- 21:25Speaker 1: twenty two when he was up here on that he
- 21:27Speaker 1: was twenty two years old playing for you in the
- 21:30Speaker 1: World Series. Why was it okay for Rojas, which is
- 21:33Speaker 1: a nothing burger prospect for you, but the Crawford kid
- 21:37Speaker 1: doesn't get a shot. That whole thing. I'll never understand it.
- 21:40Speaker 3: I'm with you, Mike.
- 21:41Speaker 4: This is I wish we were doing a couple hours
- 21:43Speaker 4: here and talking about this because I was, you know,
- 21:46Speaker 4: it's the one time in.
- 21:47Speaker 3: My career, in life, I get to be a fan.
- 21:50Speaker 3: I was so mad the last two days.
- 21:52Speaker 4: And if I hated the toper, I didn't let No
- 21:54Speaker 4: Alla keep pitching.
- 21:55Speaker 3: But uh, two nights ago. But anyway, I just that's.
- 21:58Speaker 1: All, that's all mapped out beforehand.
- 22:01Speaker 3: I know it. But but I had not seen No.
- 22:03Speaker 3: Ninety five, Mike, that was incredible. I was.
- 22:07Speaker 4: I had trouble sleeping that how much I was pissed off.
- 22:08Speaker 4: But I'll be honest with you, I get to be
- 22:10Speaker 4: a fan sometimes.
- 22:11Speaker 1: Yeah, hey, listen, it's it's That's the one thing that
- 22:14Speaker 1: really has saddens me about baseball is the feel is gone.
- 22:20Speaker 1: It is all by the book.
- 22:22Speaker 3: It is.
- 22:22Speaker 1: There's a lefty up the bat, you got to put
- 22:24Speaker 1: a lefty end there's a right up to bat, Like
- 22:26Speaker 1: I said, in what universe does anybody walk? Alec Boem
- 22:30Speaker 1: But he's right handed. The picture, well he's right handed.
- 22:34Speaker 1: The picture was left handed.
- 22:35Speaker 4: And yeah, and they didn't play. They put my man
- 22:38Speaker 4: tenor Banks, and I thought Topper missed on that, but
- 22:41Speaker 4: we'll talk on Tuesday.
- 22:42Speaker 3: Mike, I'm sure all right. Man.
- 22:43Speaker 1: Enjoy it that Sittre's Football or four a little baseball
- 22:46Speaker 1: mixed in, so even the football guys watching that Phillies
