- 0:00Speaker 1: And the Cracking power play loss.
- 0:02Speaker 2: This is the Kraking Postgame Show, brought to you by
- 0:06Speaker 2: Toyota of Olympia.
- 0:07Speaker 3: Now for an in depth look at your Krake and hockey.
- 0:10Speaker 2: It's the post Game on the Global Credit Union Kraken
- 0:14Speaker 2: Audio Network.
- 0:16Speaker 4: For the final times and I welcome back inside and
- 0:19Speaker 4: Climbing Pledge Arena on alongside alcon Eski. Ever fits you
- 0:22Speaker 4: back with you Cracking falling back to back overtime games,
- 0:26Speaker 4: this time by a score of three to two. Chandlers
- 0:28Speaker 4: Steven since third montor his third in the last two games.
- 0:33Speaker 4: Not enough is the Cracking not able to find that
- 0:36Speaker 4: extra inch in this game?
- 0:39Speaker 1: They do salvage a point.
- 0:40Speaker 4: The Cracking have got points in nine of their eleven
- 0:43Speaker 4: games this season.
- 0:44Speaker 5: However, Yeah, I mean they're they're definitely battling to be
- 0:48Speaker 5: in games. I think they're just missing that one little
- 0:51Speaker 5: piece to push them over the top. And they're close,
- 0:53Speaker 5: you know, you know, they're almost back to fully healthy.
- 0:56Speaker 5: They're just missing a couple of key players still but
- 0:59Speaker 5: not might be the answer. But they're put themselves into
- 1:03Speaker 5: positions where they have chances to win every game, and
- 1:06Speaker 5: that's important.
- 1:06Speaker 4: I was gonna ask you there are no moral victories
- 1:10Speaker 4: in this league.
- 1:11Speaker 1: But does that is that a saving grace? Does that
- 1:14Speaker 1: make you feel better?
- 1:15Speaker 4: It's like what we heard from Lane Lambert this morning
- 1:18Speaker 4: when he was talking about the penalty kill, about how
- 1:20Speaker 4: it's not where he's not getting the results that you want,
- 1:23Speaker 4: but he likes the structure, he likes the looks that
- 1:26Speaker 4: they're doing. They like the overall situation of the PK.
- 1:30Speaker 4: It's just not been successful. Are you okay with the
- 1:33Speaker 4: way that they're playing, they're getting points or are you
- 1:35Speaker 4: want more?
- 1:36Speaker 1: Well?
- 1:36Speaker 5: I think that you know, being in six overtime games
- 1:39Speaker 5: and you know, getting a point at least out of
- 1:43Speaker 5: out of some of them.
- 1:44Speaker 6: What you don't want.
- 1:45Speaker 5: Is you don't want that to set you up for
- 1:47Speaker 5: a situation where, I don't know, you missed the playoffs
- 1:49Speaker 5: by a few points, and you say, what if, what
- 1:51Speaker 5: if you could have pushed a little harder to get
- 1:53Speaker 5: that win in regulation? What if you could have gotten
- 1:55Speaker 5: that win in overtime? Would what would the outcome have
- 1:58Speaker 5: been as far as the playoffs go. But the fact
- 2:01Speaker 5: that you're in them and your gating points also was
- 2:03Speaker 5: a positive because that could be enough to push you
- 2:05Speaker 5: into the playoffs, So there's definitely there's definitely something to
- 2:09Speaker 5: I guess like there.
- 2:10Speaker 4: Rangers started strong, they volleyed and bandied back and forth.
- 2:14Speaker 1: Both teams.
- 2:14Speaker 4: Did what did you make of the Krakens ability to
- 2:18Speaker 4: stem that tide in the second period they overcame a
- 2:22Speaker 4: very ferocious start by the Rangers.
- 2:26Speaker 1: Did what do you make of that ability to just
- 2:28Speaker 1: calm that game down?
- 2:29Speaker 5: I mean, when you're when you're this early in the season,
- 2:31Speaker 5: it's it's a bit surprising to see that level of
- 2:34Speaker 5: speed and intensity from a team that's not the youngest
- 2:37Speaker 5: team in the league, like the Canadians are, and you
- 2:39Speaker 5: saw that from them last game, But now two games
- 2:42Speaker 5: in a row, the first frame, Seattle's faced two teams
- 2:46Speaker 5: twice in a row that have outmatched their speed and intensity.
- 2:49Speaker 5: And it hurts because defensively, they're all over you. You're
- 2:53Speaker 5: not able to get out of the zone offensively. They
- 2:55Speaker 5: clog up the neutral zone. They're on you quickly, so
- 2:57Speaker 5: you can't get anything going offensively, and they come back
- 3:00Speaker 5: quickly the other way. It's a frustrating way to play
- 3:03Speaker 5: the game. I think in the second period it got
- 3:06Speaker 5: stemmed up a little bit and the Crackings started to
- 3:08Speaker 5: get a little bit momentum, but then it was just
- 3:10Speaker 5: pretty much even there for the.
- 3:11Speaker 6: Rest of the game. And I'm most not surprised at
- 3:13Speaker 6: stay too too.
- 3:14Speaker 4: Finally, special teams cracking three for three on the penalty kill.
- 3:19Speaker 4: They needed a game like this after going zero for
- 3:21Speaker 4: two against Montreal. They get on the board on the
- 3:24Speaker 4: power play for Seattle. That's their seventh power play goal
- 3:28Speaker 4: of the season. They're in the middle nineteenth coming into
- 3:31Speaker 4: the game. That percentage will bump.
- 3:32Speaker 6: Up a little bit.
- 3:33Speaker 4: But they needed a strong special teams performance here tonight,
- 3:37Speaker 4: and by all accounts, they got it well.
- 3:38Speaker 5: The two things that stowed to me this week in
- 3:40Speaker 5: practice practice, because they had three days of practice is
- 3:44Speaker 5: they worked on de zone, worked that intensity that Montreal
- 3:48Speaker 5: brang in in the first period brought and excuse me
- 3:50Speaker 5: brought in the first period. They also worked on special
- 3:52Speaker 5: teams and it was specific to the penalty kill, taking
- 3:55Speaker 5: away that bump pass and that was part of what
- 3:57Speaker 5: wasn't there for New York tonight.
- 3:59Speaker 6: So no surprise surprised.
- 4:00Speaker 5: The Cracking went a perfect three for three on their
- 4:02Speaker 5: penalty kill, but also getting that power play goal, going
- 4:05Speaker 5: one for two also helps her numbers.
- 4:07Speaker 4: Three to two overtime loss for the Crack in this
- 4:11Speaker 4: five game homestand continues Monday against Chicago Al Your final thoughts,
- 4:16Speaker 4: your key takeaways, and Mama Kay's three.
- 4:18Speaker 6: Stars absolutely well.
- 4:20Speaker 5: Slow start was definitely the top of my list that's
- 4:22Speaker 5: got to get corrected. Thirteen shots on goal isn't enough
- 4:24Speaker 5: to win hockey games in the NHL, but being perfect
- 4:27Speaker 5: on the PK and one for two in the power
- 4:29Speaker 5: play did help tonight. The last thing I want to
- 4:32Speaker 5: say as far as key takeaway is Joey to coord
- 4:34Speaker 5: Oh came up with some huge saves to not let
- 4:37Speaker 5: this game end in regulation with a lossa for the Crack,
- 4:40Speaker 5: and had he not made those saves, it might have
- 4:42Speaker 5: been different there in the third period.
- 4:44Speaker 4: It was a bit difficult for him in the first
- 4:45Speaker 4: period as well, but I like how he settled down
- 4:48Speaker 4: also and he did not let those intrusive thoughts creep
- 4:51Speaker 4: in throughout the game.
- 4:52Speaker 5: Agreed Mackay. Your three stars as follows. Third start to
- 4:56Speaker 5: night was Brandon Montur. He had a goal. Second start
- 5:00Speaker 5: goes to Channel Stevenson. He had a goal and an assist,
- 5:02Speaker 5: and your first star got the game winner. Tonight one goal,
- 5:05Speaker 5: one assist Will Cooley, crack and.
- 5:07Speaker 4: Fall three to two in overtime. I'm done. Al's gonna
- 5:11Speaker 4: go across the street.
- 5:12Speaker 1: Mike Benton. He's waiting for you. I know he's waiting
- 5:16Speaker 1: for you. Get that man at cracking. I gotta give
- 5:18Speaker 1: them hugg Yeah, giveim a hug. Mike. You got a
- 5:20Speaker 1: cracking stash coming, buddy.
- 5:22Speaker 4: Congratulations on your Dodgers their second World Series championship.
- 5:26Speaker 1: He stamps his membership card to the Dodgers.
- 5:29Speaker 6: He's gonna call this tattoo guy.
- 5:31Speaker 4: Yep, he does, he does. He said he's gonna get
- 5:33Speaker 4: a tattoo. I can't tell you where. This is no
- 5:35Speaker 4: family program, but Mike Benton did say he was gonna
- 5:38Speaker 4: get a Dodgers World Series tattoo now that they've won
- 5:41Speaker 4: two in a row. Crack and fall three to two.
- 5:43Speaker 4: Al's going across street. I'm going home.
- 5:45Speaker 1: We'll talk to you on Monday against the black Hawks.
- 5:48Speaker 1: Mike Benton.
- 5:48Speaker 3: Settle down, take it away, Betts, Al, thank you so much.
- 5:51Speaker 3: We're settling in here, definitely at Tom's Watch Park. Come
- 5:54Speaker 3: join us right here across the street. As a crack
- 5:57Speaker 3: in tonight, well so close once again getting a point
- 5:59Speaker 3: out of this one. They played tight little event hockey
- 6:02Speaker 3: special teams. Also, as Everett now mentioned, a big difference
- 6:05Speaker 3: Brandon Montour keeping a good run going, but the Rangers
- 6:09Speaker 3: get the second points of this one off the final shot.
- 6:12Speaker 3: That's a big difference. Will Cooley the ot winner two
- 6:15Speaker 3: forty one in and the crack and fall three two
- 6:17Speaker 3: to the Rangers in overtime. Despite that, still unbeaten in
- 6:20Speaker 3: regulation on home mife to begin this season at three
- 6:23Speaker 3: to zero and two. Their record now at five two
- 6:26Speaker 3: and four with fourteen points on the season, the Rangers
- 6:29Speaker 3: improving two six, five and two finishing their four game
- 6:34Speaker 3: road trips. So a lot to cover here again live

- 9:54Speaker 3: to the New York Rangers this evening in game three
- 9:57Speaker 3: of the five game homestand the krack and now moving
- 9:59Speaker 3: their records five two and four. They're picking up points,
- 10:02Speaker 3: but again for the second straight game, have to settle
- 10:05Speaker 3: for one and in the Montreal game they rallied down
- 10:08Speaker 3: three nothing but lost in ot to a goal by
- 10:10Speaker 3: Cole Coffield. And this evening, playing in a tight low
- 10:13Speaker 3: event and game fall on an overtime goal by Will
- 10:16Speaker 3: Coolly as the Rangers take the first game of this
- 10:19Speaker 3: matchup and their record now at six to five and two,
- 10:22Speaker 3: completing their four game road trip, now with a three
- 10:25Speaker 3: game win streak, so the crack and again unbeaten regulation
- 10:28Speaker 3: on home I said three to zero to two, but
- 10:30Speaker 3: also set a new low point unfortunately for fewest shots
- 10:34Speaker 3: in a game. That's thirteen here in this one, despite
- 10:37Speaker 3: eking out one point. So about to talk about here
- 10:40Speaker 3: and we invite to Texas and the kJ R text
- 10:42Speaker 3: line of four nine four five to one. Al KINISKI
- 10:45Speaker 3: going to be a little long with us here in
- 10:46Speaker 3: just a little bit for the entire duration, including talking cracking.

- 10:54Speaker 3: the All News Chovy Tracks now bigger and Boulder Tracks
- 10:58Speaker 3: is the perfect assist for all of life's adventures. Vladislav
- 11:02Speaker 3: Gavrikov got the Rangers out front, won nothing, had ten
- 11:06Speaker 3: to sixteen of the first period and a shot through
- 11:08Speaker 3: traffic that the flutted off with Joey to Cord and
- 11:10Speaker 3: then that was his first goal as a Ranger, by
- 11:12Speaker 3: the way, Adam Fox Johnny Brodzinski with the assist, had
- 11:16Speaker 3: ten to sixteen of the first to make it one nothing.
- 11:19Speaker 3: The Kraken, though responding with Chandler Stevenson, he tied the
- 11:23Speaker 3: game at twelve forty nine on a shot at the
- 11:25Speaker 3: left circle, beating Igor Schusterkin up high for his first
- 11:28Speaker 3: career goal against the Rangers. That's his third goal also
- 11:31Speaker 3: for the campaign. Vince Done Ellie Tolbenan had the helper
- 11:34Speaker 3: and the game tied at one, but not for long.
- 11:37Speaker 3: One oh one later, Noah Laba tie things up, second
- 11:41Speaker 3: goal of his NHL career and for the season, as
- 11:43Speaker 3: he crashed in that website post on Joey Decord, Will Cooley,
- 11:47Speaker 3: Alexi Lafrenier with the helpers and the Kraken being held
- 11:51Speaker 3: to five shots to the first period, had a little
- 11:54Speaker 3: bit more work to do to get some more jump
- 11:56Speaker 3: trailing add two to one, but who would step forward?
- 12:00Speaker 3: A little past this six minute mark into period two.
- 12:03Speaker 4: Chandler Stevens, in a right wing fresh off the bench,
- 12:05Speaker 4: hands it now for Schwartz.
- 12:07Speaker 1: Jaden Schwartz turns in the corner, now the Montour off
- 12:10Speaker 1: the bench.
- 12:18Speaker 11: A bob from.
- 12:20Speaker 12: Brandon on the right side at Seattle precond retire the
- 12:25Speaker 12: game to two thirteen oh one.
- 12:28Speaker 1: Left at period number two.
- 12:30Speaker 5: Well, Seattle is doing an excellent job doing a line
- 12:33Speaker 5: change in the offensive end.
- 12:34Speaker 1: Jaden Schwartz curls up the wall. Five. Montour coming up.
- 12:38Speaker 5: Off the bench, puts to this wheelhouse Montreur with a
- 12:41Speaker 5: bomb to two.
- 12:44Speaker 3: That's now three goals since he has returned. Brandon Montour
- 12:48Speaker 3: fitting the bill and then some offensively to begin this
- 12:51Speaker 3: NHL season for him. Third goal on the year coming
- 12:54Speaker 3: at six fifty nine. Jaden Schwartz Chandler Stevenson with the assist,
- 12:58Speaker 3: giving him his eight point now in seven games to
- 13:02Speaker 3: begin this campaign. That signed the game in two again
- 13:05Speaker 3: six pin fifty nine into period two, you could expect
- 13:09Speaker 3: little event hockey to protect the two to two time
- 13:11Speaker 3: from both sides, and it came as advertising period three,
- 13:15Speaker 3: the shots on net nine to four in favor of
- 13:17Speaker 3: the Rangers, carrying this tight game into overtime, and then
- 13:22Speaker 3: a little pass two minutes in the Rangers making a
- 13:25Speaker 3: play to end it on the last shots.
- 13:27Speaker 1: Two twenty left it over time.
- 13:29Speaker 4: Here comes Piller here side Cooley settles, shoots, scores, Rangers.
- 13:35Speaker 1: Got the cord to bite.
- 13:36Speaker 4: Will Cooley right circle snaps it in by Joey the cord.
- 13:41Speaker 4: Back to back overtime wins for the Rangers, back to
- 13:45Speaker 4: back overtime losses for the Cracking.
- 13:47Speaker 6: They fall three two.
- 13:48Speaker 3: Yeah, tough tw it turned out here with a Krack
- 13:50Speaker 3: and finding a way to eke out a point in
- 13:52Speaker 3: this one in a tight checking affair against a Ranger
- 13:55Speaker 3: team left by new head coach Mike Sullivan and making
- 13:57Speaker 3: plenty of noise, especially on the road here for the
- 13:59Speaker 3: season as Oh Cooley let virtually on marked Wright circle
- 14:02Speaker 3: finished it off. Second goal of the year at two
- 14:05Speaker 3: forty one. It came unassisted and the Krank and again
- 14:08Speaker 3: second straight game at home, having to settle for one
- 14:10Speaker 3: point in this homestand a three to two overtime loss
- 14:14Speaker 3: to the New York Rangers. Final shots on goal Rangers
- 14:18Speaker 3: twenty seven. Krakenheld to a franchise well for one game
- 14:21Speaker 3: at thirteen that might be addressed certainly coming up here
- 14:24Speaker 3: in the next few days. Power plays as well. It
- 14:27Speaker 3: made a big difference though the Kraken getting to a
- 14:30Speaker 3: point out of this one because they went one for
- 14:32Speaker 3: two on the man advantage and the Rangers also going
- 14:35Speaker 3: zero for three as well. In nets showey to Cord
- 14:38Speaker 3: turning in twenty four saves on twenty seven shots, and
- 14:41Speaker 3: in net the other way, Igor Sasterkin not as busy
- 14:44Speaker 3: but yet turning in for the win eleven saves on
- 14:47Speaker 3: thirteen shots. Shasterkan now four to four and two to
- 14:51Speaker 3: begin this season and for the Kranken Tocord with the
- 14:54Speaker 3: overtime loss, moving his record to five one and three.
- 14:59Speaker 3: Time out for the Corslight Hillis moments of the game.

- 15:19Speaker 3: difference and who again delivered the big moment in period
- 15:22Speaker 3: one up.
- 15:23Speaker 4: Top to bitch Done, told it back to Don left side,
- 15:28Speaker 4: steven said, fires stop.
- 15:37Speaker 1: Chandler.
- 15:37Speaker 12: Stevenson on the power play has tied the game for Seattle.
- 15:42Speaker 1: Oh fake Heaven. Seventy eleven left in the first period.
- 15:46Speaker 1: We're tied at one.
- 15:47Speaker 5: A fantastic puck movement on this Cracked power play. It
- 15:50Speaker 5: starts over with Tolbenah on left side on the flank.
- 15:52Speaker 5: He gets it back to Done. Doun thinks about shooting.
- 15:55Speaker 5: He waits to craft through defenders.
- 15:57Speaker 6: To him, then gives it to his left.
- 15:59Speaker 5: Stevenson's there he goes.
- 16:00Speaker 1: Tough show for games tied at one.
- 16:03Speaker 3: Well known playmaker, but Chandler Stevenson finding an open lane
- 16:07Speaker 3: and it wasn't a cheap e beat Gor Sisterkin up high.
- 16:10Speaker 3: That was a big goal all things consider the cracking
- 16:13Speaker 3: hell to thirteen shots on net this evening and facing
- 16:16Speaker 3: one of the greatest goaltenders really in the game today
- 16:19Speaker 3: all across the globe. You gotta earn your chances here
- 16:21Speaker 3: against ee Gor Sisterkin, and that was a big one
- 16:24Speaker 3: to put the Kraken in good physition in the first period.
- 16:27Speaker 3: Chandler Stevenson's first career goal against the Rangers tied things
- 16:30Speaker 3: up at one end of the second period. The Kraken
- 16:34Speaker 3: trying to hang on in a close game right here
- 16:37Speaker 3: and also in a battle at the front of their
- 16:39Speaker 3: own nets.
- 16:40Speaker 1: Fox shoots turned aside by the Gorse loose bucket front.
- 16:43Speaker 13: They scramble buck still down and it's in they score.
- 16:48Speaker 1: Go on could find it.
- 16:51Speaker 13: Seattle had three around the outside of the blue paint.
- 16:56Speaker 13: The Rangers crash and bang Will Cooling leaves the handshake
- 17:01Speaker 13: line as.
- 17:02Speaker 1: Of now three two Rangers lead. But we'll see there was.
- 17:06Speaker 5: At least one kracking player in the net, Alexiak, Stevenson
- 17:10Speaker 5: out front, that Marson might have been the one that
- 17:12Speaker 5: was Alexiak that was in the net.
- 17:14Speaker 4: Oh in a minute, Cooley was trying to push the
- 17:17Speaker 4: Courts blocker, but the fuck was.
- 17:20Speaker 13: Under the Courts left leg and that Jamie Alexiak slid
- 17:24Speaker 13: into the goal with the puck.
- 17:26Speaker 6: Here's the call. The call in the ice has been
- 17:28Speaker 6: overturned to no goal.
- 17:30Speaker 5: All right, you called the partner, you called it did
- 17:35Speaker 5: eye in the sky and.
- 17:38Speaker 3: The cracking able to hang on for the from there,
- 17:40Speaker 3: because that was a big play to keep them in
- 17:43Speaker 3: position for a tie game heading into overtime. As that
- 17:46Speaker 3: goal overturned and upon for the review, yep, Everett all
- 17:51Speaker 3: Everett now said, Will Cooley and smashing Joey to Cord's leg,
- 17:55Speaker 3: Jamie Alexiak trying to cover up the puck without being
- 17:58Speaker 3: called for a penalty as well. But and Connor Sheery
- 18:01Speaker 3: visibly show him pushing alexiy Ak, and enough evidence here
- 18:04Speaker 3: to get that goal wipe dop the board a big
- 18:06Speaker 3: difference to keep the game tight in two after two
- 18:09Speaker 3: periods of play and the crack and eventually settling for
- 18:13Speaker 3: one point in the three to two overtime loss here
- 18:16Speaker 3: to the Rangers. That brings us to the big win
- 18:18Speaker 3: brought to you by the Evergreen Council on Problem Gambling.
- 18:22Speaker 3: We had further down south on the West Coast Sharks
- 18:26Speaker 3: an Avalanche and going right down to the wire in overtime,
- 18:30Speaker 3: dumped ahead by Colorado.
- 18:31Speaker 1: Is this gonna be icing? Nope, doesn't look like it.
- 18:34Speaker 1: Back to get it now is went Berg.
- 18:35Speaker 14: He skates away from Natus with speed, leap past Khoruship down.

- 19:00Speaker 3: We have an age two in over time. Indeed, it
- 19:04Speaker 3: was Philip Kerschev's day. He scored twice, including the game
- 19:07Speaker 3: winner as the Sharks defeating the Avalanche three two in
- 19:11Speaker 3: overtime at SAP Center. And for a young Sharks team
- 19:14Speaker 3: that not many expect will be in the hunt here
- 19:16Speaker 3: for the playoffs. If They're gonna go down hard again
- 19:19Speaker 3: this year. They're gonna go down swing with some pretty
- 19:20Speaker 3: impressive victories. Perhaps they beat the Avalanche they had beaten

- 29:07Speaker 3: check back in downstairs now for more reaction with Crack
- 29:10Speaker 3: and goaltender Joey to Cord Well, Joey.
- 29:13Speaker 22: What are your general thoughts on the game tonight?
- 29:17Speaker 23: I mean pretty like low event game, not a ton
- 29:21Speaker 23: out there, but we we managed, you know, the way
- 29:24Speaker 23: the game was going pretty well and overtimes a coin
- 29:27Speaker 23: flip with the three on three so you know you're
- 29:30Speaker 23: gonna win time, you're gonna lose one or lose some
- 29:32Speaker 23: and uh, you know, it just sucks. It was gonna overtime, honestly,
- 29:35Speaker 23: but you know we got a point. You know they
- 29:40Speaker 23: uh they don't have the best record necessarily on paper,
- 29:42Speaker 23: but they're a good team. So you know, we we
- 29:45Speaker 23: learned from it. We move on and uh yeah, get
- 29:49Speaker 23: ready to go again.
- 29:50Speaker 22: Anything that you can see from your perspective that maybe
- 29:52Speaker 22: this team could do differently to generate a little.
- 29:55Speaker 24: Bit more offensively.
- 29:58Speaker 23: Honestly, I just played goalie, so I don't want to
- 30:00Speaker 23: comment on that. Yeah, the guys are doing a great job.
- 30:03Speaker 23: They're trying to score, you know. I mean the guys
- 30:06Speaker 23: worked there, bought off defensively, offensively, and you know, my
- 30:10Speaker 23: job to stop the pocket. I just try to give
- 30:11Speaker 23: a team a chance to win every night.
- 30:12Speaker 18: So I'm not gonna comment on that.
- 30:14Speaker 11: New York a good amount of chances on their power plays.
- 30:17Speaker 11: You're able to keep the puck out. What are you
- 30:18Speaker 11: seeing from the penalty kill in front of you?
- 30:20Speaker 23: And tonight PK is great tonight, It's an elite power
- 30:23Speaker 23: play over there. All five guys are you know incredibly
- 30:27Speaker 23: highly skilled, and I thought we did an awesome job tonight,
- 30:32Speaker 23: and you know, we gotta just keep keep building on
- 30:35Speaker 23: that momentum on our penalty kill moving forward.
- 30:38Speaker 11: They putting you or putting them in in lanes that
- 30:40Speaker 11: you were kind of expecting to see shots, and you
- 30:42Speaker 11: kind of reference that in the preseason about the penalty
- 30:45Speaker 11: kill alignment.
- 30:47Speaker 23: I mean, I think with every team, you're gonna see
- 30:48Speaker 23: different plays, like what they like to do and what
- 30:50Speaker 23: they're trying to do. New York's a team with a
- 30:53Speaker 23: ton of skill that likes to make a lot of plays.
- 30:55Speaker 3: So it's a little bit.
- 30:56Speaker 23: More complicated power play than some other teams that we play.
- 31:00Speaker 23: So it's just really being aware of all their threats
- 31:03Speaker 23: and when what they're trying to look for.
- 31:05Speaker 1: Joey a lot of big saves tonight, Cutch saves.
- 31:08Speaker 6: What did you see on that first goal or not see?
- 31:10Speaker 1: Maybe I got.
- 31:12Speaker 3: To watch it. I don't know what happened.
- 31:13Speaker 23: I think it was going over the net, and then
- 31:15Speaker 23: I haven't seen it. I just know it hit my
- 31:17Speaker 23: stick like way over the net. So just a fluky one,
- 31:21Speaker 23: you know, sometimes it was read once just find a
- 31:23Speaker 23: way in and you just toss in the garbage and
- 31:26Speaker 23: move on.
- 31:27Speaker 3: That's a big key right there for a goaltender trying
- 31:29Speaker 3: to rebound. Joey Decor is saying you basically just flush
- 31:32Speaker 3: it and move on. And you reambounded after a tough
- 31:34Speaker 3: first period giving up two goals and the crack and
- 31:37Speaker 3: falling down to one, but then Tocord rebounding with a
- 31:40Speaker 3: couple of tough saves that he certainly showed as a
- 31:43Speaker 3: game progressed and the cracking getting to overtime as a result,
- 31:46Speaker 3: eventually falling three two to the New York Rangers. Want
- 31:49Speaker 3: it and again remind you here for the Crack and
- 31:51Speaker 3: Road trip that is powered by your Western Washington Toyota dealers.

- 36:35Speaker 3: Once again the krack and pushing this thing right to overtime,
- 36:38Speaker 3: but once again having to settle for a point early
- 36:40Speaker 3: on here in the regular season, they fall again to
- 36:42Speaker 3: a pretty tough team as a result, three two to
- 36:45Speaker 3: the New York Rangers, and we are lied back at
- 36:47Speaker 3: Tom's Watchbar. Place is packed and food is on the
- 36:51Speaker 3: table wall to wall. This table as well included in

- 36:57Speaker 1: Hat for it, my friend.
- 36:58Speaker 5: There may be one Tom Watch part that might be
- 37:01Speaker 5: a little more packed than this one.
- 37:02Speaker 6: I think it's down in LA.
- 37:04Speaker 5: But do you have cheese curves over there? There used
- 37:06Speaker 5: to be cheese curds in the corner there, now gone.
- 37:09Speaker 5: You said a world record delicious. I think that these
- 37:11Speaker 5: are riot about probably five minutes ago.
- 37:13Speaker 3: Oh yeah, yeah, no, you vacuum that thing up.
- 37:16Speaker 6: I was a man.
- 37:18Speaker 3: I have a hummus platter over here, Celery. I mean,
- 37:23Speaker 3: hummus is okay cold though that's true, that's true, ms
- 37:26Speaker 3: is okay cold. I've learned to enjoy the simple pleasures,
- 37:29Speaker 3: you know, hot, cold, whatever. And we'll probably take that
- 37:32Speaker 3: home as well too. I got a post game should
- 37:33Speaker 3: I get too? On top of that here cracking the
- 37:35Speaker 3: Fall three two to the New York Rangers again. Come
- 37:37Speaker 3: on down and join us here if your local at
- 37:39Speaker 3: Thom's Wahbar. We're here throughout the entire season after cracking
- 37:42Speaker 3: home games as a crack in this evening gets one
- 37:45Speaker 3: goal from Chandler Stevenson first period, one goal from Brandon
- 37:49Speaker 3: mon Tour. But we're gonna get after this here thirteen shots,
- 37:53Speaker 3: you're maybe looking for a lot more despite getting an
- 37:56Speaker 3: OT point out of this one. So what's your level
- 37:59Speaker 3: of set satisfaction based on a game like this? Four nine,
- 38:02Speaker 3: four or five to one Texas? Right now, we're gonna
- 38:05Speaker 3: hear from cracking head coach Lane Lambert a little bit
- 38:08Speaker 3: later on here, and we're gonna get some more of
- 38:11Speaker 3: your reaction on top of that again, Texas four nine,
- 38:13Speaker 3: four or five to one on the Kjer text line,
- 38:16Speaker 3: You know, I kind of had my feelings going into
- 38:19Speaker 3: this one about how tough this would be from the
- 38:22Speaker 3: standpoint of facing a Ranger team that their record didn't
- 38:26Speaker 3: necessarily I think reflect their potential. And we were talking
- 38:30Speaker 3: about this a few days ago. You don't want to
- 38:33Speaker 3: be the opponent that is their get right game, and
- 38:36Speaker 3: they were going through a tough run at home, started
- 38:40Speaker 3: out in a tough run as well on the road,
- 38:42Speaker 3: found their rebound game at Edmonton. But this again was
- 38:46Speaker 3: a team that's got a loaded core that you could
- 38:48Speaker 3: see right from the get go. They were challenging the
- 38:50Speaker 3: Kraken in their own zone and it took a while
- 38:53Speaker 3: to get their game going.
- 38:54Speaker 5: Also, yeah, I mean get right game, you know, I
- 38:57Speaker 5: expected to be a statement win. I think you got
- 38:59Speaker 5: to two over two time wins two games in a row.
- 39:01Speaker 5: Certainly things are looking in the right direction for the Rangers.
- 39:04Speaker 5: But as far as the Seattle Crack can go, tonight
- 39:07Speaker 5: I wrote down slow start, I don't think it was
- 39:10Speaker 5: slow in terms of intensity or speed. I just thought
- 39:13Speaker 5: that New York brought intensity and speed that Seattle just
- 39:16Speaker 5: couldn't match for a full twenty minutes in that first period,
- 39:19Speaker 5: and it started to pay off for New York pretty quickly.
- 39:22Speaker 5: In the second period, it kind of eased up a
- 39:24Speaker 5: little bit, but too many good opportunities for New York
- 39:27Speaker 5: over sixty minutes, not enough for Seattle.
- 39:29Speaker 6: As you said, just thirteen shots on goal for Seattle.
- 39:32Speaker 3: See I think the first and fighting moment, and I
- 39:34Speaker 3: that really was I think partially defined by special teams,
- 39:36Speaker 3: because again, let's look at it here. From this way,
- 39:38Speaker 3: this game does not get to ot unless the Crack
- 39:41Speaker 3: had won the special team's battle. You guys were talking
- 39:43Speaker 3: about this, We were talking about this earlier as well too.
- 39:46Speaker 3: If you had to stay out of the box. The
- 39:48Speaker 3: Rangers are a loaded team talent wise, but yet they
- 39:51Speaker 3: had been struggling on the power play, but yet I
- 39:55Speaker 3: think to go three of three really no small task
- 39:59Speaker 3: against the range. And I think the first a funny
- 40:02Speaker 3: moment of this game was back in period one the
- 40:05Speaker 3: penalty kill. Maybe in if he call on the Latroner trip,
- 40:09Speaker 3: but you keep shots right of the outside. And Joey Decord, yeah,
- 40:12Speaker 3: he would love to come out of period won a
- 40:14Speaker 3: lot better than two goals allowed. But he had a
- 40:16Speaker 3: big save in that penalty kill. And the Krack can
- 40:18Speaker 3: come out unscaled.
- 40:19Speaker 5: Yeah, I think there are three things that get the
- 40:21Speaker 5: Krack in two overtime. Number one, you're right, special teams
- 40:24Speaker 5: were fantastic for the Kraken, one for two on the
- 40:26Speaker 5: power play, the Channer Stevenson goal being the power play goal,
- 40:29Speaker 5: perfect on the penalty kill, so check there. I think
- 40:33Speaker 5: that Joey Decord's game was also fantastic. He came up
- 40:37Speaker 5: with some game saver saves throughout the second half of
- 40:40Speaker 5: the game, is certainly in the third period. I think
- 40:42Speaker 5: the other one is the Cracking had some puck luck
- 40:44Speaker 5: tonight as well. What's puck pluck? Puck luck is when
- 40:47Speaker 5: the puck bounces your way, well, it bounced their way
- 40:50Speaker 5: in that it bounced over top of some ranger sticks
- 40:53Speaker 5: when they had wide open cages to put the puck
- 40:55Speaker 5: in the back of the net. This very easily could
- 40:57Speaker 5: have a four to two five to two regulation loss
- 40:59Speaker 5: for the Crack and had a few Beet had a
- 41:02Speaker 5: few as well. Sometimes puck luck works in your favor.
- 41:04Speaker 5: I think it worked in the krakens favor tonight. So
- 41:06Speaker 5: those three things get them to overtime.
- 41:09Speaker 3: When you look at the totality of this game and
- 41:12Speaker 3: why you got to overtime, maybe you're happy here with
- 41:15Speaker 3: the point, but you're also thinking of where could they
- 41:17Speaker 3: have been better? And thirteen shots on net a new
- 41:21Speaker 3: franchise low, Well, you're going to go through this over
- 41:24Speaker 3: and over. It's usually not enough. But where do you
- 41:26Speaker 3: look at here as far as improving the shots on
- 41:28Speaker 3: net total?
- 41:28Speaker 6: Yeah, I mean that's just a matter of puck control.
- 41:30Speaker 5: And I haven't looked at the h the uh, you know,
- 41:33Speaker 5: time of puck possession over the course of sixty minutes
- 41:35Speaker 5: so far, But that's a big part of it is
- 41:37Speaker 5: how much of the time did the Crack and control
- 41:40Speaker 5: the play as far as offensive zone puck time. And
- 41:43Speaker 5: I know in that first half of the game, it
- 41:44Speaker 5: was a lot of ranger puck time, and that's simply
- 41:48Speaker 5: a matter of taking.
- 41:50Speaker 6: The puck away.
- 41:51Speaker 5: There weren't a lot of takeaways by the cracking over
- 41:53Speaker 5: the course of sixty minutes.
- 41:55Speaker 6: It's a it's offensive zone time. It wasn't as high
- 41:58Speaker 6: as as it it's been past games. So that's how
- 42:01Speaker 6: you ultimately get shots on that.
- 42:03Speaker 5: You don't want to just put pucks, yeah, onto a
- 42:05Speaker 5: guy like Egro Schuster. Can you want to put pucks
- 42:07Speaker 5: there with traffic? You want to put in tense pucks
- 42:09Speaker 5: on net, like the goal that Brandon Montour scored.
- 42:12Speaker 3: Results right now are a bit of a mixed bag again,
- 42:14Speaker 3: Texas year satisfaction your level from one to ten here
- 42:18Speaker 3: based in a game like this four nine four five
- 42:20Speaker 3: one again Texas four nine four five one on the
- 42:23Speaker 3: KJR text line, and a mixed bag because again there's
- 42:25Speaker 3: two schools of thought. Last half empty, class half full.
- 42:28Speaker 3: You found a way to force overtime and get a
- 42:30Speaker 3: point against a pretty talented team. But then again, what
- 42:33Speaker 3: were you missing to get to? What opportunities did you
- 42:37Speaker 3: pass up to get better? I mean case in point
- 42:39Speaker 3: two oh six texting in thirteen shots isn't nearly enough,
- 42:43Speaker 3: they were lucky to get a point. That reaction from
- 42:46Speaker 3: the two oh six for the four to two five
- 42:49Speaker 3: saying impressed with the fight got the cracknners showing this
- 42:52Speaker 3: season as shown by earning at least a point in
- 42:55Speaker 3: all but two games this season so far. But mystify
- 42:58Speaker 3: by what is set here as slow starts something that
- 43:01Speaker 3: is frustrating here to maybe the crack in and especially
- 43:05Speaker 3: as well head coach Lane Lambert that from the four
- 43:07Speaker 3: two to five.
- 43:07Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean the thing about these OT games, and
- 43:09Speaker 5: when I was talking about this in the post game
- 43:11Speaker 5: is now you're now six games of the season.
- 43:14Speaker 1: I think I think three and three is the record
- 43:16Speaker 1: in OT.
- 43:18Speaker 5: If at the end of the season you get into
- 43:19Speaker 5: the playoffs by three points, you're gonna look back at
- 43:22Speaker 5: these games and say, thank goodness, the fight was there
- 43:25Speaker 5: because you got those three points, even though you lost
- 43:27Speaker 5: in overtime. But if you missed the power of the
- 43:29Speaker 5: playoffs by three points, you're gonna say, gosh, it would
- 43:32Speaker 5: have been nice to win those other three in regulation.
- 43:34Speaker 5: You missed it by three points. So we'll see how
- 43:36Speaker 5: that breaks out. We're only eleven games into this this year.
- 43:38Speaker 3: Well see Also I go back here to you know,
- 43:41Speaker 3: just being in the fight for the postseason. That's pretty important.
- 43:43Speaker 3: But go back to predictions, and again this is all
- 43:46Speaker 3: coming here from national narratives. And again some of these,
- 43:50Speaker 3: you know, predictions can be just basically made by looking
- 43:52Speaker 3: at the standings, looking at who's at it. You know,
- 43:55Speaker 3: who who they with, teams lost with players, and you know,
- 43:59Speaker 3: really it depends upon how much homework is done. And
- 44:02Speaker 3: you know, in some cases the homework isn't done enough
- 44:04Speaker 3: here on these teams in these predictions. But yet on
- 44:07Speaker 3: the cracking case you're seeing a good start. Now, next
- 44:11Speaker 3: question is what can you do to sustain this? So
- 44:14Speaker 3: you're finding ways to get to ot and get to points.
- 44:17Speaker 3: But how much of a concern is it right now
- 44:20Speaker 3: with the time that they are spending back in their
- 44:21Speaker 3: own defensive zone.
- 44:22Speaker 5: Yeah, I think that's a big issue. And you know,
- 44:25Speaker 5: it's two things. It's one, it's it's defending, which we
- 44:27Speaker 5: know Lane Lambert is a big fan of and he's
- 44:30Speaker 5: definitely installed a system with this team that can defend
- 44:33Speaker 5: when necessary. But then there's also the attack of the
- 44:36Speaker 5: opposing team. And I thought both in the Montreal game
- 44:39Speaker 5: and in the New York Ranger game tonight. Both of
- 44:41Speaker 5: those teams did a great job of taking away the
- 44:44Speaker 5: outlet passes along the boards. Yeah, by pinching. Pinching, their
- 44:47Speaker 5: defense been down being there when the puck got there
- 44:49Speaker 5: to disrupt the play or actually intercepting the puck cracking.
- 44:53Speaker 5: I gotta find a way to beat that. They worked
- 44:55Speaker 5: on it and practice this week a little bit, and
- 44:57Speaker 5: I think they're they're making strides in that area. But
- 45:00Speaker 5: tonight we saw it again. The Rangers pressured them and
- 45:03Speaker 5: them in their own end too much.
- 45:05Speaker 3: In baseball terms, it was like basically throwing a good
- 45:08Speaker 3: hitter a pitch where he's breaking his bat or he's
- 45:10Speaker 3: just tapping immediately over to the second basement.
- 45:13Speaker 5: Sure, Mike, gonna have to go with you on that.
- 45:14Speaker 5: I'm not sure what's happening in baseball tonight, but whatever, that's.
- 45:16Speaker 3: The only time I go to baseball. I promise you,
- 45:19Speaker 3: I promise you. I told you i'd be locked.
- 45:22Speaker 5: I see guys with bear chests up on the screen here.
- 45:24Speaker 5: I don't know what's going on.
- 45:25Speaker 3: Yeah, well, well we'll say that here for the conversation
- 45:28Speaker 3: on KJR. I know Sophie's gonna be all over that
- 45:30Speaker 3: one here. By the way, the Dodgers be the Blue
- 45:32Speaker 3: Jayson game seven again four nine four five one on
- 45:34Speaker 3: the kJ Are text line and more reaction here to
- 45:38Speaker 3: this From the four to two five, Jeff writes in
- 45:41Speaker 3: saying last two games have shown that teams know how
- 45:44Speaker 3: to attack the krack and keep the game in the
- 45:47Speaker 3: defensive zone. A couple of nice shifts here this evening,
- 45:50Speaker 3: but an adjustment is needed that from Jeff in the
- 45:54Speaker 3: four to two five, To what degree then do you
- 45:56Speaker 3: go to shaking lines up once again? And is too
- 46:00Speaker 3: early maybe to think about moving say somebody like Coppo
- 46:03Speaker 3: Coco back to with Matty Veniers as well.
- 46:05Speaker 5: I mean, you just got Coppo Coco back in the
- 46:07Speaker 5: lineup tonight. You do want to find the right place
- 46:11Speaker 5: for him. I think the thought of putting him on
- 46:13Speaker 5: that right side with Shane right in the middle and
- 46:16Speaker 5: Mason Marshman on the on the left side was to
- 46:18Speaker 5: get those two going. I don't know if you can
- 46:20Speaker 5: say that worked. It didn't work after one game. We
- 46:22Speaker 5: might see it for one more game. But you also
- 46:25Speaker 5: want to get Coppo Coco going as well, so it'd
- 46:28Speaker 5: be nice to see all three of them I think
- 46:29Speaker 5: you probably give that test one more game before you
- 46:31Speaker 5: make a change. But we also saw Berkeley Katten's ice
- 46:35Speaker 5: time get to reduced significantly in that third period. He
- 46:39Speaker 5: had sixteen minutes of ice time last game. I haven't
- 46:41Speaker 5: looked tonight, but.
- 46:43Speaker 6: It was eleven eleven thirty six, So there you go.
- 46:46Speaker 5: And I think that five minutes was probably all in
- 46:48Speaker 5: the third period, where again we can speculate was he
- 46:52Speaker 5: not playing well?
- 46:53Speaker 6: Was it was he playing okay?
- 46:54Speaker 5: But Lane Lambert just won a different personnel on these maybe,
- 46:58Speaker 5: but a big difference from last game.
- 47:00Speaker 3: We'll see on Monday if there is any change here again.
- 47:02Speaker 3: Yonnie Newman was scratched this evening in favor of Copocaco,
- 47:05Speaker 3: who came back. Jared McCann still date to day, but
- 47:09Speaker 3: you know, for the indications we received last few days,
- 47:12Speaker 3: he might be a little bit more further out than that.
- 47:14Speaker 3: So again, a lot of a fluid situation surrounding this roster,
- 47:18Speaker 3: especially upfront. But we move the attention now to the
- 47:20Speaker 3: back end. How good has Brandon montour Ben begin this season?
- 47:24Speaker 6: How much was he missed?
- 47:25Speaker 5: I mean, you know the way he played last game
- 47:29Speaker 5: with two goals and assists, the way he came into
- 47:30Speaker 5: the nice game and got a very similar, you know,
- 47:33Speaker 5: four seam fastball from the point bomb of a mond one.
- 47:38Speaker 5: That's the last of my last week, Will Smith, that's
- 47:40Speaker 5: my last baseball reference.
- 47:41Speaker 3: And as I know you're celebrating back there also.
- 47:45Speaker 6: No the way he shot that puck coming off the bench.
- 47:48Speaker 5: First of all, it started thirty seconds before that where
- 47:50Speaker 5: the Cracken did a very textbook style maintained control on
- 47:54Speaker 5: the offensive zone while you get five fresh bodies on
- 47:57Speaker 5: the ice and Mantra was one of the last ones
- 47:59Speaker 5: to come on the ice. And then it was a
- 48:01Speaker 5: great feed by Jaden Schwartz back to him that he
- 48:03Speaker 5: could step right into that shot. But it's all Brandon
- 48:06Speaker 5: Montour's far as laying that shot go. It's nice to
- 48:08Speaker 5: have him back in the lineup again.
- 48:10Speaker 3: Four nine four five one text us your reaction. What's
- 48:13Speaker 3: your level of satisfaction with how this one turned out
- 48:16Speaker 3: this evening getting a point but losing an overtime. That's
- 48:19Speaker 3: the final Rangers three and the Cracking two. Mike Benton
- 48:23Speaker 3: al Kaniski with you will pause for a bit and
- 48:25Speaker 3: come back with reaction and crackinghead coach Lane Lambert. We
- 48:28Speaker 3: are lying that Tom's watched bar. It has packed this
- 48:31Speaker 3: evening right across from Climbing Pledge Arena. Come on in,
- 48:35Speaker 3: stop in, say hello with us after crack at home
- 48:38Speaker 3: games throughout the entire season. Again, more reaction from Lane
- 48:41Speaker 3: Lambert right after this, and this is talking cracking on
- 48:44Speaker 3: ninety three to three KJRFM.
- 48:49Speaker 12: Here come the Rangers fox right side in fro tat
- 48:53Speaker 12: Miller Stone by towing a card.
- 48:57Speaker 13: Oh my goodness, the cord fails out.
- 49:01Speaker 1: Well, crack it with a goal line stand.
- 49:05Speaker 6: At GG Miller Lieutenant shot going to that far left post.
- 49:08Speaker 5: The puck gets onto his stick, he puts it back
- 49:11Speaker 5: towards the middle of and then I'm not sure.
- 49:12Speaker 1: If he was sticking five hole on Joey to Cord.
- 49:14Speaker 6: But the cord either way coming up with a big
- 49:17Speaker 6: stop there.
- 49:18Speaker 3: He got better as this game went along without a doubt,
- 49:21Speaker 3: and that was one of the twenty four saves and
- 49:23Speaker 3: maybe the biggest one that Joey to Cord made for
- 49:25Speaker 3: this evening as a crack and again for silver time,
- 49:27Speaker 3: but fall three to two to the New York Rangers.
- 49:30Speaker 3: Mike Bent and Al Kiniski with you back at Tom's
- 49:33Speaker 3: watch bar more reaction in a bit, but we'll go
- 49:36Speaker 3: back downstairs right now and hear the reaction from cracking
- 49:39Speaker 3: head coach Lane Lambert.
- 49:42Speaker 24: You said a few weeks ago you mentioned that you'd
- 49:45Speaker 24: like to see your guys do a better job coming
- 49:47Speaker 24: out of the face offs. How recently have you seen
- 49:50Speaker 24: them coming out of the face offs? And now are
- 49:51Speaker 24: they doing it to your liking?
- 49:53Speaker 9: Uh?
- 49:54Speaker 26: Well, we were thirty nine percent on face offs tonight,
- 49:58Speaker 26: so we clearly you know, it's an area that we
- 50:02Speaker 26: have to improve on. We'll continue to work on, and
- 50:08Speaker 26: it's a pivotal area of the game because if you're
- 50:11Speaker 26: in your own zone and you're losing face offs, you're
- 50:14Speaker 26: giving up opportunity and you're spending time in your own zone.
- 50:18Speaker 18: So we have to be better off faceoffs.
- 50:20Speaker 11: What was your assessment of the penalty kill tonight relative
- 50:23Speaker 11: to you know, the quality of the opponent and you
- 50:25Speaker 11: know the amount of shots that Joey face there.
- 50:27Speaker 26: Well, it's funny how it works, right, They had probably
- 50:29Speaker 26: about three or four really good chances to score whereas
- 50:32Speaker 26: and they didn't. And you know, for a number of
- 50:35Speaker 26: games teams haven't had very good chance to score at
- 50:39Speaker 26: all and it goes in the net.
- 50:40Speaker 18: So it ebbs and flows a little bit.
- 50:44Speaker 26: I thought we did a pretty good job, you know,
- 50:47Speaker 26: in certain areas, but they did hit a couple of
- 50:49Speaker 26: seams on us and we were fortunate and our goaltender
- 50:51Speaker 26: played well.
- 50:53Speaker 18: Lane.
- 50:53Speaker 21: Is it fair to say that your team didn't have
- 50:58Speaker 21: a shoot first mentality tonight?
- 51:01Speaker 3: And if that is fair, what he chalk that up to.
- 51:05Speaker 18: It's fair to say it, you know.
- 51:08Speaker 26: I think we passed up too many shots when we
- 51:12Speaker 26: did have good opportunities.
- 51:13Speaker 18: We missed in it as well.
- 51:14Speaker 26: We had a two on one, Winterton missed the Nette
- 51:16Speaker 26: Chandler had a good chance right in front in the
- 51:19Speaker 26: slot in the second period, so you know, but at
- 51:23Speaker 26: the same time, they defend well, they're in lanes, so
- 51:28Speaker 26: you know, it's.
- 51:29Speaker 18: It's easy to say shoot the.
- 51:31Speaker 26: Park, but if people are in the lanes, it's it's
- 51:34Speaker 26: a little bit harder to do, you know, and it's
- 51:36Speaker 26: not going to get through. But at the same time,
- 51:39Speaker 26: I thought we passed up shots and we had opportunities
- 51:42Speaker 26: to shoot pucks from you know, even bad angles and
- 51:45Speaker 26: create a second opportunity, and we didn't.
- 51:47Speaker 18: So it's fair to say it. And we have to
- 51:50Speaker 18: do it better.
- 51:53Speaker 3: How would you assess Coppo Coppo's first game back.
- 51:55Speaker 26: Yeah, I thought he played well. I thought, you know,
- 51:58Speaker 26: he big body, big strong body. You know, you could
- 52:02Speaker 26: see what he what he is going to add to
- 52:04Speaker 26: our you know, team down low in the offensive zone.
- 52:08Speaker 18: So I thought he was you know, it's it's tough.
- 52:11Speaker 26: He hasn't played a game for uh, you know, really
- 52:14Speaker 26: for a while obviously, or a game of any meaning
- 52:18Speaker 26: since uh, you know, last April kind of thing. So
- 52:21Speaker 26: I thought he played well for for not being and
- 52:24Speaker 26: and having been off this long.
- 52:27Speaker 5: Then what's the what are the takeaways positive takeaways from tonight?
- 52:32Speaker 26: Well, I think you know, we've got we've got some
- 52:35Speaker 26: things and some things we've got to got to work on, obviously,
- 52:38Speaker 26: but if you look at it from a positive standpoint,
- 52:41Speaker 26: we you know, that's six overtime games this year that
- 52:45Speaker 26: we've played in. You know, we're understanding and getting a
- 52:49Speaker 26: real good, uh I guess, a real good experience in
- 52:53Speaker 26: what it means to play in situations and and games
- 52:57Speaker 26: that you know, you never know what two or three
- 52:59Speaker 26: seconds is going to win or lose you of the
- 53:01Speaker 26: hockey game. Right, So that experience for our hockey team
- 53:04Speaker 26: is going to be valuable.
- 53:05Speaker 18: That's a positive. I thought our guys battled.
- 53:08Speaker 26: Yep, we want them to shoot more, you know, and
- 53:12Speaker 26: you know we we thought we could do a better
- 53:14Speaker 26: job of that. But certainly, I thought there was a
- 53:17Speaker 26: lot of battle to our game. I give our guys
- 53:19Speaker 26: credit for that.
- 53:19Speaker 18: For sure.
- 53:21Speaker 26: It wasn't an easy game by either team. And you
- 53:25Speaker 26: know they they moved the puck around pretty good on
- 53:28Speaker 26: that team.
- 53:28Speaker 18: But I thought we battled hard.
- 53:33Speaker 22: Coach, are you comfortable with the amount of time that
- 53:35Speaker 22: that the team is spending in its own zone right now?
- 53:37Speaker 22: Would you rather see it generating more on the offensive
- 53:41Speaker 22: end of the eyes?
- 53:41Speaker 1: Man?
- 53:41Speaker 22: I know, shoot first mentality is one thing, but like
- 53:44Speaker 22: getting into those positions too right where you're controlling the
- 53:47Speaker 22: puck more.
- 53:48Speaker 18: Well, I think the answer is obvious. I you know, we.
- 53:51Speaker 26: Don't want to spend this much time in our zone.
- 53:53Speaker 26: We're battling when we do. But again, you know, the
- 53:57Speaker 26: first period was a classic example of what I've been
- 54:00Speaker 26: talking about it all year long. We're you know, we're
- 54:02Speaker 26: misfiring on passes where you know we're not at times.
- 54:07Speaker 18: I'm not saying all the.
- 54:08Speaker 26: Time, our guys are working and they're doing you know,
- 54:10Speaker 26: they're they're giving it everything that they have from that standpoint,
- 54:14Speaker 26: But we've got to we've got to find a way
- 54:15Speaker 26: out of our zone better and have more composure and
- 54:17Speaker 26: have more poise.
- 54:18Speaker 18: It's the bottom line.
- 54:19Speaker 26: We turned the puck over and we spend another thirty
- 54:21Speaker 26: forty seconds in our zone.
- 54:22Speaker 18: So we wonder why. That's why.
- 54:26Speaker 3: Pretty honest there from mccrack and head coach Lane Lambert
- 54:29Speaker 3: is a crack out again. Fall three two to the
- 54:30Speaker 3: New York Rangers. Mike Betton Alkiniski back at Tom's watchbar
- 54:33Speaker 3: right across from Climate Pledge Arena. Now, this takes me
- 54:36Speaker 3: back to a conversation I had this morning with Shane Wright,
- 54:39Speaker 3: and there's two schools. Have thought about playing defense in
- 54:42Speaker 3: your own zone, and there's there are teams in the
- 54:45Speaker 3: NHL that will be perfectly fine pushing shots towards the outside.
- 54:50Speaker 3: Let and let them shoot out there from all day,
- 54:53Speaker 3: just keep the puck away from the middle of the eyes.
- 54:56Speaker 3: Not so with this team, Shane Wright told me, because
- 55:00Speaker 3: the more time that you spend back in your own
- 55:02Speaker 3: defensive zone, the more that it takes away from your
- 55:05Speaker 3: attack game. And that's the point all of this here
- 55:07Speaker 3: for the krack and you want to get back up
- 55:09Speaker 3: on ice and push pace.
- 55:10Speaker 5: Yeah, I mean the Rangers had sixty three percent of
- 55:13Speaker 5: zone time and the cracking end of the ice tonight.
- 55:15Speaker 5: That's just way too much. As Lane Lambert was pointing out,
- 55:18Speaker 5: Obviously you don't want that. But the way to get
- 55:20Speaker 5: out of it is you've got to find a way
- 55:22Speaker 5: to beat that intensity that the Rangers brought early in
- 55:26Speaker 5: the game, where they were clapsing down on cracking wingers
- 55:29Speaker 5: really quickly collapsing down to take away passing lanes.
- 55:33Speaker 6: You've got to find a way to beat that.
- 55:34Speaker 5: Maybe it's sending the guy, maybe it's doing something different
- 55:37Speaker 5: than what wasn't working there in that first period, but
- 55:40Speaker 5: clearly that's an issue they've got to get sorted out.
- 55:42Speaker 3: Well more attacks here from the four to two five,
- 55:44Speaker 3: saying given the crack at a seven on this one,
- 55:46Speaker 3: because they're not rolling over for anybody now doing enough
- 55:49Speaker 3: to win though in regulation however, but yet the points
- 55:52Speaker 3: start is still the best enfranchise history, so that's got
- 55:56Speaker 3: to count for something that from the four to two five,
- 55:59Speaker 3: and certainly because as you now go into a stretch
- 56:01Speaker 3: where you're facing teams that really aren't built like the
- 56:05Speaker 3: Rangers are, like what Montreal is, even Toronto for their
- 56:08Speaker 3: top start they have Austin Matthews on top of that.
- 56:11Speaker 3: So you now have a stretch where you're playing teams
- 56:14Speaker 3: like the Blackhawks, the San Jose Sharks coming up, Saint
- 56:17Speaker 3: Louis as well, off to a pretty tough run. And
- 56:19Speaker 3: that begins now on Monday. Where can you find ways
- 56:23Speaker 3: to capitalize against teams that maybe can commit more mistakes
- 56:27Speaker 3: per se? And that's what Chicago, despite the talent they have,
- 56:30Speaker 3: they're still trying to find more answers here at five
- 56:33Speaker 3: four and three.
- 56:33Speaker 5: Yeah, And I think that's just it is that this
- 56:35Speaker 5: team has the personnel to be successful. We've seen that
- 56:39Speaker 5: over the first ten games. Like I said, they're just
- 56:42Speaker 5: missing that one piece. It could be a player, it
- 56:45Speaker 5: could be just a tactical thing. You still got Jared
- 56:48Speaker 5: mccannon out of the lineup, You've still got Freddy Gudro
- 56:50Speaker 5: of the line if you still have Riker Evans out
- 56:51Speaker 5: of the lineup, And yes, every team deals with injuries
- 56:56Speaker 5: throughout the season, but I don't think we've seen the
- 56:58Speaker 5: full capability of this team yet.
- 57:00Speaker 6: And we won't until they're fully healthy.
- 57:01Speaker 3: When they play Chicago, they're going to face a team then.
- 57:04Speaker 3: As we said, they're looking for answers, but really more
- 57:06Speaker 3: on the question of is this run sustainable because five
- 57:09Speaker 3: four and three with the young crop they have is
- 57:11Speaker 3: still pretty impressive for what many are considering still a
- 57:15Speaker 3: rebuilding year, but they could be emerging out of it.
- 57:18Speaker 3: That teardown began three years ago. Jonathan taves out Patrick
- 57:21Speaker 3: Kane out last year minus seventy gold differential in the NHL,
- 57:26Speaker 3: they won just ten to forty one games on home minds,
- 57:29Speaker 3: so you can say the madhouse on madis said, well,
- 57:32Speaker 3: they just made some fans at home just playing Matt basically,
- 57:35Speaker 3: but it was a tough year. Yet they're five to
- 57:37Speaker 3: four and three and they have Connor Badar maybe taking
- 57:40Speaker 3: that next step right now with his play where he's
- 57:42Speaker 3: over a point per game.
- 57:43Speaker 5: Yeah, I'm not worried about the Chicago Blackhawks. I think
- 57:46Speaker 5: they're absolutely laying down the bricks to take this team forward.
- 57:50Speaker 5: Obviously Badard helps with that, but it's not just Badar.
- 57:54Speaker 5: There's lots of pieces to this organization that's going to
- 57:56Speaker 5: see them back at the top of their divisions very
- 57:59Speaker 5: quickly well.
- 57:59Speaker 3: Also feature another reunion game of sorts Andre Burikovsky now
- 58:04Speaker 3: with the Blackhawks. He's getting plenty of einsteime. Ryan Donato
- 58:08Speaker 3: a former Cracking as well, a part of that team
- 58:10Speaker 3: coming off a big extension. But Borakowsky nine points so
- 58:14Speaker 3: far in eleven games, Donato eight and twelve gonna be
- 58:18Speaker 3: a good one here for game four of the five
- 58:20Speaker 3: game homestand coming up.
- 58:21Speaker 5: Yeah, Andre Brukowski had a pretty one the other night
- 58:23Speaker 5: between the legs in front of the net top shelf,
- 58:25Speaker 5: and he seems to be comfortable where he's.
- 58:27Speaker 3: At again, the Blackhawks coming in. They recently faced the
- 58:30Speaker 3: Oilers and took them to overtime, losing three too. The
- 58:34Speaker 3: final score again Cracking Blackhawks coming up next game here
- 58:37Speaker 3: on the homestand on Monday at Climbing Pledgerina seven o'clock
- 58:41Speaker 3: puck drop That will do it for here. Thanks again
- 58:43Speaker 3: to Andrew Surch, technical director, Terry Ryan Oer on site engineer,
- 58:47Speaker 3: and as well for your reaction and for Alkiniski joining
- 58:50Speaker 3: me by my side and crushing those cheese curds and
- 58:53Speaker 3: record time. Folks. The food is worth it. It comes
- 58:58Speaker 3: as advertised right here at Tom's Watch Part. Perhaps come
- 59:00Speaker 3: and joy Makay that we'll do it for here again
- 59:02Speaker 3: for al Koniski. This is Mike Benton saying good night
- 59:05Speaker 3: from Climbing Pledge Arena and Tom's Watchbar, and thank you
- 59:08Speaker 3: for joining us. Your final score before a crowded seventeen
- 59:11Speaker 3: thousand one fifty one in sudden death overtime, the New
- 59:15Speaker 3: York Rangers three and the Seattle Kraken two. This is
- 59:19Speaker 3: Talking Kraken on ninety three to three KJRFM
