  SPEAKER_00: And I just had this thought of suffering is not primarily for you.

  SPEAKER_00: Now, there is suffering that we endure that is absolutely because of us, because we did not listen to the Father, we were not obedient, or we're just being stubborn and allowing the enemy to steal all of the goodness of God from us, all the gifts that He's given us, right?

  SPEAKER_00: So there's that kind of suffering.

  SPEAKER_00: But then there's the suffering that I want to talk about today, in that it's not for you, but many times, and it okay.

  SPEAKER_00: Let's back it up a little bit too here.

  SPEAKER_00: Because there is obviously in James where it talks about suffering produces perseverance, right?

  SPEAKER_00: Absolutely.

  SPEAKER_00: So there is suffering that is for us.

  SPEAKER_00: But I wanted to pull this back into that bigger picture of yes, it's for us, but it doesn't stop with us.

  SPEAKER_00: Because that suffering that we endure produces perseverance, and through it, we would be lacking and complete.

  SPEAKER_00: We'd be lacking nothing and complete, excuse me.

  SPEAKER_00: Right.

  SPEAKER_00: Through that, that's the testimony that God develops in and through us for the good and saving of many, right?

  SPEAKER_00: What the enemy means to harm us, God doesn't allow to go to waste and uses for the good of others, right?

  SPEAKER_00: For the saving of many.

  SPEAKER_00: And I think that this ties back into a couple episodes about perspective of why is this happening?

  SPEAKER_00: Um, one of my dear friends and um one of the gals in high-level wife, who she just I got to spend some extra time with her when we were in Texas for the marriage advance weekend.

  SPEAKER_00: Um, her daughter, like I got a text late, I don't even remember what night it was, last week, um, or in the weekend, maybe it was it was Friday, I think, um Thursday or Friday.

  SPEAKER_00: And she just said, like, they were going to the hospital to asking us to pray because her daughter, who's only like 12, I think soon to be 13, was having signs of a stroke and like just crazy situation.

  SPEAKER_00: And it's so easy in those situations to question, like, God, why is this happening?

  SPEAKER_00: Right?

  SPEAKER_00: Like, why is this happening to us?
• 3:07
  SPEAKER_00: And to think, like, oh my gosh, are we being punished for something?

  SPEAKER_00: Or like, what's the outcome gonna be here?

  SPEAKER_00: Right?

  SPEAKER_00: Like, oh my goodness, like, are we gonna for our brains, our human brains to race out of control in 50 different directions at one time, right?

  SPEAKER_00: When if we can have the perspective of this kind of suffering as for God to be glorified, my friend had no control in this situation that was going on, right?

  SPEAKER_00: Now, she responsibly cares for her daughter every single day in modeling to her the importance of disciplining her body through fitness and exercise, right?

  SPEAKER_00: And through healthy eating, fueling her body well, right?
• 3:55
  SPEAKER_00: Resting, um, and more importantly, walking with the Lord and seeing him first, right?

  SPEAKER_00: Like she does all those things, she's responsible in those areas, right?

  SPEAKER_00: So then when things like this happen, right, bad things happen to good people, if you will, which is the the question heard around the world, right?

  SPEAKER_00: Well, first of all, there's no good people, we're all sinners, we've all sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

  SPEAKER_00: We all deserve death and separation from God, but God, but God, right?

  SPEAKER_00: We received faith, it's a gift.

  SPEAKER_00: Jesus took on for us what we deserved so that we could have what we didn't deserve.

  SPEAKER_00: Amen and amen, right?

  SPEAKER_00: Um, and so because my friend has perspective, because through this, she picked up the weapons of warfare to praise, to pray, to be in community, right?

  SPEAKER_00: Of reaching out to brothers and sisters to pray through this, of having that faith that God is good.

  SPEAKER_00: This whole thing turned into a giant worship party, right?
• 5:16
  SPEAKER_00: Even through the unknowns, and especially through the unknowns.

  SPEAKER_00: The way that they were able to interact with the doctors and the nurses and everyone else that was there, right?

  SPEAKER_00: Now I wasn't there in person, but I know my friend, and I trust that this is absolutely the picture that played out, right?

  SPEAKER_00: Though her she had fear, she was rooted and grounded in the love of Christ.

  SPEAKER_00: Though she had no idea what was going to happen, if her daughter was going to recover, or if this could be life-altering, she trusted in the Lord.

  SPEAKER_00: Her peace was not shaken, and her joy was not taken because of this perspective that she has, that the Lord is good, his word is true, and that she can trust that and stand on his truth.

  SPEAKER_00: It's not about how we live and think and act and speak, when life is quote unquote going good, going our way, right?

  SPEAKER_00: It's what happens when everything is shaken and broken and the rug pulled out from under us, right?

  SPEAKER_00: When injustice happens, when when you do the right things and evil is done back to you, right?

  SPEAKER_00: Like this is when our faith is tested, and this is when God's power and might are on display, so that God gets the glory.

  SPEAKER_00: God does not share his glory with anyone.

  SPEAKER_00: So I will tell you with with marriage, if you were trying to fix your marriage, God is not going to allow you to do it.

  SPEAKER_00: Why?

  SPEAKER_00: Because it's he and he alone that is going to transform in and through you, in and through your spouse, what only he can do, so that he gets the glory.

  SPEAKER_00: It's Gideon's army of 30,000 being taken down to 300.

  SPEAKER_00: Why?

  SPEAKER_00: So that they wouldn't say, look what we did by our hand.

  SPEAKER_00: God does the same in and through us, and especially in marriage.

  SPEAKER_00: So, wife, God is not going to allow you to fix your marriage, but he will position you to learn heart posture and surrender fully to him so that he can do what you cannot do, and you will give him the glory, and it will be for the good and saving of many.
