Transcript
- 0:02SPEAKER_00: Hello, everyone.
- 0:04SPEAKER_00: Welcome to Crushing Strongholds.
- 0:06SPEAKER_00: This is a podcast where we turn pain into power, trauma into triumph, and a place where we can expose the lies of the enemy and break curses through truth and equipping believers to walk in lasting freedom.
- 0:22SPEAKER_00: Okay, and how do we do that?
- 0:23SPEAKER_00: We do that through grace and the power of Jesus Christ.
- 0:27SPEAKER_00: Because you see, you know, your voice and your testimony, it has a huge impact on dismantling strongholds.
- 0:34SPEAKER_00: And when we share the obstacles that we've overcome in our life and how we've crushed strongholds in our life, it truly is the heart of this podcast when we get to share Jesus Christ and share what He's done in our life and see people, you know, get free from that.
- 0:54SPEAKER_00: So welcome in, everybody.
- 0:55SPEAKER_00: Um, my name is Mickey.
- 0:57SPEAKER_00: I'm a Christian life coach, and today I'm your host.
- 0:59SPEAKER_00: This is day six, day six of the seven-day overflow challenge workshop.
- 1:04SPEAKER_00: And let me tell you, it has been a challenge for me because normally I only do podcasts once a week, but I'm doing a seven-day-in-a-row podcast run.
- 1:14SPEAKER_00: And um I just was uh well, I was led and I felt that God just wanted me to pour out um an overflow because he because he has overflowed onto me.
- 1:27SPEAKER_00: So I'm super excited to be here, and I can't wait to get into today's lesson with everyone.
- 1:33SPEAKER_00: So let's dive in, shall we?
- 1:35SPEAKER_00: Because I don't want to keep you all day.
- 1:36SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 1:37SPEAKER_00: Um in my life um with this episode is called The Oil Won't Run Out.
- 1:47SPEAKER_00: Have you ever had that fear where your supplies just might run out and you just you're not sure what you're ever gonna do?
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 1:54SPEAKER_00: There's times when I felt spiritually drained, um, physically drained, emotionally drained, and um I just you know, I just didn't know if I could go on any any further, any longer.
- 2:07SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 2:08SPEAKER_00: I kind of wanted to give up.
- 2:10SPEAKER_00: But in 2 Kings 4, which we're gonna talk about that scripture, um we're gonna talk about verse 5 and 6 specifically, but the whole book of um or the whole chapter of of 2 Kings 4, sorry, uh my brain is like all over the place right now, so bear with me a moment.
- 2:28SPEAKER_00: Um, it talks about replenishing.
- 2:31SPEAKER_00: So it talks about the jars being filled with oil and never running out as long as we're pouring, we're pouring from within, okay.
- 2:40SPEAKER_00: Um, I hold on to that promise because sometimes if I don't, I feel even weaker and I feel like um I'm gonna go back to that emptiness and again being physically, emotionally, and spiritually just completely drained.
- 2:58SPEAKER_00: So as long as I'm holding on to that promise, that even though I'm still pouring out, as long as I keep pouring out, God's gonna keep pouring in and he's always gonna keep me replenished as long as I keep faith in that.
- 3:09SPEAKER_00: And so that's really helped helped me, and it's strengthened me.
- 3:12SPEAKER_00: Definitely when I'm weak.
- 3:14SPEAKER_00: Um, he he has literally brought me peace when there was chaos and grace every step of the way.
- 3:22SPEAKER_00: I I mean, he's really helped me through some amazing obstacles.
- 3:26SPEAKER_00: Okay, so his spirit never runs dry, ever.
- 3:31SPEAKER_00: Even when I thought I had nothing left, he still poured into me.
- 3:36SPEAKER_00: So, anyhow, he always gave me enough for myself, enough to get through.
- 3:43SPEAKER_00: It was then that I learned in God's presence, like this topic says, the oil just never runs out, it just stays.
- 3:53SPEAKER_00: So as long as we stay connected to him, it's never gonna stop.
- 3:56SPEAKER_00: So let's dive into today's scripture, okay?
- 3:59SPEAKER_00: I don't want to repeat myself too many times, so I just want to dive right in.
- 4:03SPEAKER_00: Let's go to 1 Kings, which is in the Old Testament, and we're gonna go to um chapter 17, verse 14.
- 4:10SPEAKER_00: It says, Um, thus says the Lord God of Israel, the bin of flour shall not be used up, nor shall the jar of oil run dry until the day the Lord sends rain on the earth.
- 4:24SPEAKER_00: Okay, that scripture is talking about um Elijah is actually telling the widow of um Zarephath that um um God is going to not let her run dry, even though they were in a drought and supplies were very sparse.
- 4:45SPEAKER_00: Flour was they're running out of flour, running out of oil, but Elijah um reassured her that God had said, You're not gonna run out, you're gonna have enough.
- 4:54SPEAKER_00: You're gonna you're gonna sustain.
- 4:55SPEAKER_00: Okay, and there's times when God gives us just what we need, and then there's times when God gives us more than what we need.
- 5:02SPEAKER_00: So I think God does that to kind of see how we we react and how um little or much faith that we have in him.
- 5:12SPEAKER_00: So that's why this story is kind of two parts where one part the oil just keeps pouring out as long as we're pouring out, and then this part is like he's just giving just barely what we need, but enough to get through and still be comfortable, okay?
- 5:28SPEAKER_00: Because it's really important that we understand what God's purpose is, he wants us to kind of lean on him.
- 5:35SPEAKER_00: So when we're going through something, especially if we're in a drought, we're running dry physically, emotionally, spiritually, we need to make sure that we are leaning completely on him.
- 5:47SPEAKER_00: Because if we lean on our own understanding, we're probably gonna mess up, we're gonna fail, we're we're not gonna we're not gonna get the full replenishing that we need.
- 5:56SPEAKER_00: Um we won't get enough because we're we're we are relying on ourselves, and so we need to be definitely um leaning on God because his supplies don't run out ever.
- 6:11SPEAKER_00: He will always provide.
- 6:12SPEAKER_00: So we just need to remember that.
- 6:14SPEAKER_00: Um, God wants to provide for your needs, and not all of our needs are the same.
- 6:19SPEAKER_00: So I want to talk about that a little bit, okay?
- 6:21SPEAKER_00: For the widow, it was flour and oil.
- 6:24SPEAKER_00: For myself, it was faith.
- 6:27SPEAKER_00: So I didn't have a lot of faith, and um I literally had to study, literally, do a whole six-month series of studying just faith five days a week, every single day, 30 minutes a day, um, just devouring the word about faith and what it means, what it means for me, what it looks like, what am I supposed to be doing with it?
- 6:52SPEAKER_00: How am I supposed to be trusting God um through faith, okay?
- 6:57SPEAKER_00: Because I didn't have a lot of faith.
- 6:59SPEAKER_00: I didn't have faith in a lot of things.
- 7:01SPEAKER_00: So, and God started showing me the more time I spent with him and looked up his scripture and his word and studied it, God gave me faith.
- 7:10SPEAKER_00: So he gave me what I needed, he gave me just enough to keep me going.
- 7:15SPEAKER_00: But once I started living in faith and honoring faith and believing in faith, then God started just keep he just kept pouring into me because the more faith I had, the more I was able to pour out.
- 7:28SPEAKER_00: So it was kind of a a double whammy for me.
- 7:31SPEAKER_00: Like he sustained me until I got to a point where I could overflow.
- 7:37SPEAKER_00: And I think that's the great thing about God when it comes to outpouring and and the overflow in our lives, he's gonna provide um always, whether it's just enough or it's abundant.
- 7:47SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 7:48SPEAKER_00: So I want to dive in today's challenge.
- 7:51SPEAKER_00: Let's take 10 or 15 minutes to just spend time with God.
- 7:55SPEAKER_00: And I know um for me, when I first really decided to devote some time to God, 10 or 15 minutes seem like hours.
- 8:07SPEAKER_00: Hours.
- 8:08SPEAKER_00: Now I can't get enough.
- 8:10SPEAKER_00: I can't get enough of it.
- 8:11SPEAKER_00: I want to be in God's Word.
- 8:12SPEAKER_00: Um, I want to listen to messages.
- 8:15SPEAKER_00: I I like to get into the scripture, I love to listen to worship music.
- 8:19SPEAKER_00: I just I just want to be in his presence always.
- 8:23SPEAKER_00: But when I first started out, again, learning about faith, that 30 minutes a day for five days a week was tough.
- 8:29SPEAKER_00: It was really tough.
- 8:31SPEAKER_00: And making myself take 10 or 15 minutes and go to a quiet place where it was just me and God, that was really tough too.
- 8:39SPEAKER_00: I swear it seemed like an hour or two.
- 8:41SPEAKER_00: I was like, oh my gosh, this is the longest 15 minutes of my day.
- 8:45SPEAKER_00: It shouldn't be that way.
- 8:47SPEAKER_00: But in the beginning, sometimes it is.
- 8:48SPEAKER_00: And if this is the beginning for you, it gets better.
- 8:51SPEAKER_00: I promise, it really does get better.
- 8:53SPEAKER_00: And you'll crave it.
- 8:55SPEAKER_00: Kind of like when you're thirsty and you're craving something to drink, you and then you drink it and you crave more and more and more.
- 9:01SPEAKER_00: That's how God is, that's how the overflow comes.
- 9:03SPEAKER_00: And it's so exciting when you get it because it's just replenishing, it's refreshing.
- 9:08SPEAKER_00: It you you just walk through your day, enjoy.
- 9:11SPEAKER_00: Um, not as many things in the world bother you when you're sitting at the feet of Jesus.
- 9:17SPEAKER_00: And yeah, yeah, there's a lot going on, and all of that chaos never stops.
- 9:21SPEAKER_00: It doesn't ever stop, ever.
- 9:23SPEAKER_00: So, in today's daily challenge, I just want you to do one thing for me.
- 9:28SPEAKER_00: Okay, again, it's a challenge workshop.
- 9:31SPEAKER_00: I'm challenging you, and I need you to do the work.
- 9:34SPEAKER_00: So, um, the best way to gain overflow um is by doing the workshop, okay?
- 9:43SPEAKER_00: So I want you to sit and just meditate on today's scripture, okay?
- 9:51SPEAKER_00: Meditate on it.
- 9:53SPEAKER_00: And um on 1 Kings and 2nd Kings, okay.
- 9:59SPEAKER_00: And read it.
- 10:02SPEAKER_00: Second Ching, Second Kings chapter 4 is a great chapter.
- 10:05SPEAKER_00: You should read the whole entire chapter.
- 10:07SPEAKER_00: Just read it.
- 10:08SPEAKER_00: That might take you more than 10 or 15 minutes, but if you read chat uh verses five and six, um, that'll get you started.
- 10:16SPEAKER_00: But I want you to seriously sit and talk to God, and I want you to find out from God.
- 10:26SPEAKER_00: Um, like, have you ever felt emptied out and had fear of not being replenished?
- 10:32SPEAKER_00: And an area where um you felt like you were gonna just dry completely up, and you just need to know that God's supply never dries up.
- 10:44SPEAKER_00: So I want you to declare something.
- 10:47SPEAKER_00: I want you to sit and meditate and just declare this over yourself.
- 10:53SPEAKER_00: Um, I want you to declare, I will not run out.
- 10:58SPEAKER_00: I will not run out, okay, over one area of need that you have in your life, one area that you're struggling with in your own personal life.
- 11:08SPEAKER_00: Because what you're lacking may not be what I'm lacking, okay?
- 11:14SPEAKER_00: So work on you.
- 11:17SPEAKER_00: The best way to be the best person you can be in life is to constantly work on yourself.
- 11:24SPEAKER_00: A lot of times we want to work on everybody else.
- 11:26SPEAKER_00: We like to be the fixer-uppers and we like to try to change people.
- 11:29SPEAKER_00: Well, that doesn't necessarily work.
- 11:31SPEAKER_00: We need to change who we are, okay?
- 11:33SPEAKER_00: So that is your daily challenge today.
- 11:35SPEAKER_00: I really want you to do that.
- 11:37SPEAKER_00: I want you to sit, meditate, and speak this and declare I will not run out over the one thing in your life that you're afraid that you're gonna run out of.
- 11:46SPEAKER_00: Okay?
- 11:47SPEAKER_00: Or the one thing that you don't think you have enough of.
- 11:50SPEAKER_00: Okay, let me put it in a little bit different words.
- 11:52SPEAKER_00: So, or the one thing that you're just really struggling with.
- 11:56SPEAKER_00: You're not gonna run out.
- 11:57SPEAKER_00: It's not gonna run out.
- 11:59SPEAKER_00: Okay, speak that, speak it over your life, speak it over yourself, talk to God about it, see where He wants you to go with it, okay?
- 12:07SPEAKER_00: So, now the second challenge, which we've done all week long, um, this, like I said, day six today.
- 12:13SPEAKER_00: So, the second challenge is to whatever platform you're watching this podcast on, I would greatly appreciate it if you could go and like and comment and share it with five people.
- 12:24SPEAKER_00: And I say five, that's the challenge, that's part of the workshop, that's your that's your assignment today.
- 12:30SPEAKER_00: But if you want to share with more than five, please feel free to because I I know a lot of people don't take time to pick up the word and just get a hold of five people individually and pour out into them um what God is doing all the time.
- 12:44SPEAKER_00: Sometimes we're busy, we don't have time, we're working, we have kids, we got school, we got whatever um is going on in your lifetime.
- 12:50SPEAKER_00: Sometimes, you know, just getting the 10 or 15 minutes for yourself with God can be a lot.
- 12:55SPEAKER_00: So I know a lot of us um don't always have time to get a hold of five people each day and be like, hey, I want to I want to share a podcast with you about overflow, um, talking about the woman who um was lacking flour and oil, but God replenished and made sure that she had enough to get her completely through the drought until the rains came back.
- 13:15SPEAKER_00: And I just want to share this story with you.
- 13:17SPEAKER_00: And about the woman that um she needed her jars filled up with oil, but the more she filled up the jars, the more they stayed full.
- 13:24SPEAKER_00: And it came even to the point where her jars were so full that she ran out of jars to fill.
- 13:29SPEAKER_00: She didn't even have any more jars to fill because they were all filled up.
- 13:32SPEAKER_00: God poured into her and filled them up as long as she was pouring out of them.
- 13:36SPEAKER_00: So we need to make sure that we are um sharing and engaging with people because it's super important, excuse me, to let people know about God and his word and what he does.
- 13:50SPEAKER_00: People are missing out on it.
- 13:52SPEAKER_00: People miss out on it because they don't know, because they're not in the word, they're not paying attention, they're not, they're too busy.
- 13:58SPEAKER_00: Um, you know, and I'm not saying people are making excuses because we are busy.
- 14:02SPEAKER_00: There's a lot going on in this world, this great big world we live in.
- 14:07SPEAKER_00: We need to just remember God's in control.
- 14:11SPEAKER_00: What he decides and what he does is not of our control, it's of his.
- 14:15SPEAKER_00: But we can control what we do with our time, and we can control who we share God's word with.
- 14:22SPEAKER_00: Excuse me.
- 14:24SPEAKER_00: So before I go on to prayer, I just want to remember or remind you, excuse me, that we need to be engaging and we need to be sharing the word of God.
- 14:33SPEAKER_00: Um, the gospel say to go and share the gospel.
- 14:37SPEAKER_00: We're supposed to be sharing, sharing God every single day.
- 14:41SPEAKER_00: So I just want to encourage you to do that.
- 14:43SPEAKER_00: So let's jump into prayer right now because I just want to um I want to be done so that you guys can go sit and spend time with God and you can work on declaring what overflow you're gonna have in your life, okay?
- 14:55SPEAKER_00: Super excited about that.
- 14:57SPEAKER_00: And I just um I want to give you that time and that space today to do that.
- 15:01SPEAKER_00: So, Heavenly Father God, Lord, we just thank you.
- 15:04SPEAKER_00: We thank you so much, Lord.
- 15:06SPEAKER_00: We thank you for your outpouring of oil, Lord, when we need it.
- 15:11SPEAKER_00: We thank you for not letting us run dry, even in the drought of things that come along in our lives.
- 15:18SPEAKER_00: You supply all of our needs.
- 15:20SPEAKER_00: Today I just want to say thank you.
- 15:22SPEAKER_00: Thank you, thank you, thank you for all you do.
- 15:27SPEAKER_00: Thank you for this podcast, thank you for blessing it.
- 15:30SPEAKER_00: We love you, Lord, and we thank you for your grace and mercies are unfailing, and your love is everlasting.
- 15:38SPEAKER_00: Help us today to be more like you, to desire you, Lord, above all else.
- 15:46SPEAKER_00: In Jesus' precious name, amen.
- 15:49SPEAKER_00: Thank you today for being here.
- 15:51SPEAKER_00: Thank you.
- 15:52SPEAKER_00: I also want to share real quick, I always do this at the end.
- 15:55SPEAKER_00: Um, because if you're not a Christian and you don't know Jesus, I want to tell you who Jesus is.
- 16:01SPEAKER_00: Um, Jesus died on a cross to save you from your sins.
- 16:05SPEAKER_00: Okay, we're all sinners.
- 16:06SPEAKER_00: We were all born into sin.
- 16:08SPEAKER_00: We all make sin, we all we all sin and we all um have our free will to sin, okay?
- 16:14SPEAKER_00: But God wanted us to be saved, He wants us to have eternal salvation.
- 16:19SPEAKER_00: So I want to share this prayer with you and pray it out loud because the enemy flees when we talk about Jesus.
- 16:25SPEAKER_00: So let's do that, okay?
- 16:27SPEAKER_00: So I'm gonna say this and just just read it along, or cut um, you can read it in the worksheet and say it out loud for yourself, or you can follow along with me.
- 16:35SPEAKER_00: Either way is fine.
- 16:36SPEAKER_00: Okay, dear God, I come to you admitting that I am a sinner.
- 16:41SPEAKER_00: I believe that your son Jesus died on the cross to take away my sin.
- 16:48SPEAKER_00: I also believe he rose from the dead so I could be justified and made righteous through faith in him.
- 16:56SPEAKER_00: Jesus, I choose, I choose to follow you.
- 17:00SPEAKER_00: And I ask that you fill me with the power of the Holy Spirit.
- 17:03SPEAKER_00: Thank you for saving me.
- 17:05SPEAKER_00: Amen.
- 17:06SPEAKER_00: Congratulations if you prayed that prayer.
- 17:09SPEAKER_00: You are now in the kingdom.
- 17:10SPEAKER_00: So welcome to the family.
- 17:12SPEAKER_00: Welcome in, welcome in.
- 17:13SPEAKER_00: If you did pray that, please go to crushingstrongholds.com, go to the welcome page, fill out your information, and put in the notes I accepted Jesus because I want to send you a gift.
- 17:25SPEAKER_00: I want to um welcome you in, and I want to um um encourage you.
- 17:32SPEAKER_00: And if you have any questions, you can also put that in the notes as well.
- 17:35SPEAKER_00: But just let me know that you prayed that prayer and accepted Jesus today because I do want to send you a just a special little gift.
- 17:41SPEAKER_00: Now, I want to recommend that you start in the Bible, you get it, you you get the Bible that you want to read, and start with um the gospels.
- 17:49SPEAKER_00: Okay, the gospels of Jesus.
- 17:51SPEAKER_00: Jesus died on the cross for you, so it's really a good idea to get to know him.
- 17:55SPEAKER_00: Um, have a personal relationship, develop relationship with Jesus, okay?
- 18:01SPEAKER_00: It's one thing just to hear him, hear or hear of him, speak of him, but it's really important to have a relationship with him, a personal relationship.
- 18:12SPEAKER_00: So the best way to do that is by diving into the gospels, which are um Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John in the New Testament.
- 18:21SPEAKER_00: So do that and then get yourself into a good word-believing church so that you can learn and grow.
- 18:26SPEAKER_00: And if you have any further questions, please feel free to ask me because I'll be happy and delighted to share any information with you that you ask of me.
- 18:35SPEAKER_00: And if I don't know the information, then I will I will look for it for you.
- 18:38SPEAKER_00: Okay.
- 18:39SPEAKER_00: So thank you again for joining today.
- 18:41SPEAKER_00: Today was day six of the seven-day um overflow challenge workshop.
- 18:47SPEAKER_00: And um we have one more day left, one more day, and we're gonna wrap all of this up.
- 18:52SPEAKER_00: So stay tuned for the finale, day seven, which is living in overflow and overflowing in gratitude and service.
- 18:59SPEAKER_00: Okay, we want to, once we learn how to overflow, we want to continue to live in it.
- 19:05SPEAKER_00: So that's what we're gonna close out our seven-day week overflow challenge workshop with.
- 19:10SPEAKER_00: So I'm super excited about that.
- 19:12SPEAKER_00: And um, I cannot wait for tomorrow's episode because it's gonna be a finale, I promise you, okay?
- 19:20SPEAKER_00: Thank you again for being here.
- 19:21SPEAKER_00: And um, if you need prayer for anything, reach out to me.
- 19:24SPEAKER_00: But other than that, God bless, take care, and have an amazing day.
