Five state capitols moved on AI chatbot safety this week. Five different architectures. Georgia became the first state to enact a chatbot statute that covers Meta AI and Google Gemini, not just standalone bots. Colorado and Connecticut adjourned Sine Die with omnibus AI bills on the governor's desk. California let the marquee chatbot safety bills survive its Appropriations suspense file. In Santa Fe, the judge denied Meta's directed verdict and Meta's defense begins. Tuesday is the federal TAKE IT DOWN Act compliance deadline.
