- 0:27Hey everybody, good morning from the chicken coop.
- 0:31So this is recovery week and the reason that I decided to do this
- 0:36week all about recovery, apparently he agrees with me is
- 0:40because we had an interesting little conversation after I saw
- 0:46something come across the television the other day.
- 0:49Can you imagine what is the most?
- 0:52Use day for plumbers. What?
- 0:54What day is it that plumbers get called the most in the world?
- 0:58Well, that is Thanksgiving Day and the day after.
- 1:02And the reason that the plumber went on and on about this, on
- 1:06the thing that I saw was people put things down the drain.
- 1:10They stuff potato skins or peels from the potatoes down the drain
- 1:15they do. The grease from the chicken and
- 1:18the Turkey down the drain, they do.
- 1:21All kinds of stuff down the drain.
- 1:23And he said, and I quote, which is very funny, he said, you
- 1:27know, the drains are not like even if it's a garbage disposal,
- 1:32it's not meant to just stuff anything in.
- 1:34Although why should they stop thinking that that's the case
- 1:38when they do it to themselves? And I thought, Oh my gosh, he's
- 1:41too funny. And he cracks me up that he just
- 1:43said that because that's what we do.
- 1:45We go into Thanksgiving and it gives us a license to just
- 1:49absolutely. Do all the things that we don't
- 1:52like to do and then we wonder why we feel like crap on Monday
- 1:56morning. So here we are because most of
- 1:59us will say, oh, it's the weekend.
- 2:00Because you know, Thanksgiving always takes place on the
- 2:02Thursday. So we always have that Thursday,
- 2:05Friday, Saturday, Sunday to just, you know, eat the
- 2:08leftovers consistently. Eat all that stuffing, eat all
- 2:12the pie, everything. And by Monday morning we truly
- 2:15feel terrible. So this is recovery week, and
- 2:18the first thing that we're going to talk about is dealing with
- 2:21the fact that we need to detox and hydrate because nothing is
- 2:26more important than detoxing yourself from.
- 2:30And most of us, you know, have definitely gone through the
- 2:36sugar highs. Of the week.
- 2:39We know we've eaten a lot of sugar, so the detox is really
- 2:42from the sugar. Alcohol turns into sugar, so
- 2:45please know it comes under that category.
- 2:47And hydration is one of the quickest ways to start your
- 2:51process off. Now as many of you may know, if
- 2:54you're loyal listeners, you've been around for a while.
- 2:57When I worked for Tony Robbins, this was something that we all
- 3:00learned regularly was the detox process, the hydration process,
- 3:04because you can't be healthy. And you can't think at your
- 3:08best. You can't emotionally be at your
- 3:10best if you are stuck in this vortex of feeling completely
- 3:14dehydrated all the time and having so much sugar in your
- 3:17body. So this is a vital part of it.
- 3:19And you know, people will often say I don't.
- 3:23I don't really love the idea of giving up all the sugar.
- 3:26Neither do I. Let me just be very clear about
- 3:28that. I do not want to give up all the
- 3:30sugar in my life. I actually.
- 3:32Like having cookies. I actually like having sweets.
- 3:36It was just a part of my childhood and I like it.
- 3:40I I just have to figure out a way and have had to figure out a
- 3:44way in my life to limit it to the points where I know I can do
- 3:48it and I offset it by doing the hot the.
- 3:51Hydration portion of this meaning I will have a little bit
- 3:55of sugar, I will have a little bit of dark chocolate.
- 3:57I will have those things every day.
- 3:59I use honey and tea, but I will tell you.
- 4:03I know for a fact that after this holiday, it comes time to
- 4:06say I've got to buckle down if I want to be healthy by the time
- 4:10Christmas gets here. Because you can't make this
- 4:12whole entire month in between now and Christmas holidays or
- 4:16whatever holidays you're celebrating, whether it's
- 4:19Kwanzaa, Hanukkah or whatever may be coming up for you
- 4:23Festivus. I had to say that one and throw
- 4:26that in there for all my Seinfeld fans.
- 4:27Whatever is coming up for you, you have to make sure that by
- 4:31the time it gets here, you're ready for it and you're not
- 4:33miserable and sick. So First things first, make sure
- 4:36you're drinking plenty of water. Plenty of water.
- 4:39Plenty of water, you know. Again, Doctor Botman Gotti, I've
- 4:43mentioned him before, is a specialist in.
- 4:47Hydration. He has a little tiny book on
- 4:50Amazon that you can pick up called Your Body's Many Cries
- 4:53for Water and it will change the way you look at water for the
- 4:56rest of your life. In a nutshell, it comes down to
- 4:59this. If you're peeing any other
- 5:02color, then clear or very, very pale yellow, there is a very
- 5:07high indicator that you are dehydrated, and that is
- 5:11incredibly important to your well-being because that's how
- 5:14your system flushes. So no pun intended.
- 5:16With the toilet, make sure you're hydrated.
- 5:19Take a look at your pee. That's your homework.
- 5:21And detox that sugar. Limit the sugar every time you
- 5:24write down sugar this week. Write it down every day.
- 5:27Write it down so you can see. Because knowledge is power, my
- 5:30friends. So write it all down and let's
- 5:32get this hydration and detox underway.
- 5:35I'll see you tomorrow for Part 2.
- 5:38Bye.
