- 0:01Speaker 1: We've got a wild Card special pod today as Sam
- 0:03Speaker 1: has hit the button. Is Harland in all routes? Which
- 0:07Speaker 1: other budget for was? Can we bank on? And who's
- 0:09Speaker 1: the best keeper to own for those elusive clean sheets? Hello,
- 0:18Speaker 1: welcome back to the FPL pod. Kelly, Summer's back with
- 0:21Speaker 1: you being honest and I really want to talk about
- 0:23Speaker 1: fl this week because I've had another stinker. But hopetually
- 0:25Speaker 1: Joels and Sam are in a better mood when it
- 0:27Speaker 1: comes to their SDL teams. Morning Joel's Morning Sam.
- 0:30Speaker 2: First to you, Joels, you in a good mood about you?
- 0:32Speaker 3: Tay? Hello, guys, Yeah, very good, fifty three points. I
- 0:34Speaker 3: think the first time you seen that beat both of you.
- 0:36Speaker 4: So hey, I'm happy. I'd ride through the whole episode.
- 0:41Speaker 1: That doesn't make any change normally. And what about you, Sam?
- 0:45Speaker 1: How are you feeling quite smug? Big spurs win, big
- 0:48Speaker 1: solanky Haul.
- 0:50Speaker 2: I was very happy about that one on Sunday. I
- 0:52Speaker 2: wasn't so happy on Saturday obviously another Harlan disappointment I think.
- 0:57Speaker 2: And as you know, Carols, I was very very close
- 1:00Speaker 2: to the back end of last week to completely changing
- 1:02Speaker 2: it up my team and hit in the wild card button.
- 1:04Speaker 2: And having Salom instead of Harlan, and in the end
- 1:06Speaker 2: decided not to do it, and it was the right thing,
- 1:08Speaker 2: I think just about because Solanki would have been sacrificed
- 1:11Speaker 2: as part of that wild card. And of course he
- 1:13Speaker 2: went on to be the top screen player of the week.
- 1:14Speaker 2: So fifty points a green arrow, which is nice. I've
- 1:18Speaker 2: not seen one of them for a little while, so
- 1:20Speaker 2: it feels quite nice. And yeah, into a big week
- 1:23Speaker 2: for me.
- 1:23Speaker 1: Now you know who you've got to thank, by the way,
- 1:26Speaker 1: for Solanki being the highest score of the game week?
- 1:28Speaker 2: Yeah, I do. It's you, isn't it. I'm laughing through
- 1:32Speaker 2: the tears.
- 1:34Speaker 4: You have, Kenny. Yeah, you kept she sold them wrong.
- 1:38Speaker 2: Dominic, I told him because I sat with them. Yeah.
- 1:42Speaker 1: I got quite a lot of abuse for being in
- 1:43Speaker 1: the Dominic fan club last week. And then I was
- 1:46Speaker 1: with Sam on the Fantasy Show on Friday, by the way.
- 1:48Speaker 1: You can check that out on the Premier League's YouTube
- 1:50Speaker 1: ban app if you haven't seen it. And Sam had
- 1:52Speaker 1: this amazing, some really good status about Kunya one of
- 1:55Speaker 1: the did I get this right?
- 1:56Speaker 2: Of Sam?
- 1:57Speaker 1: He was top for expected assists in the whole Premier League. Yeah,
- 2:00Speaker 1: and then when I got an assist, so I was right.
- 2:02Speaker 1: So I was quite pleased. Come Saturday night, I was
- 2:04Speaker 1: like great. I mean, I wasn't that enthralled by Wolves.
- 2:07Speaker 1: His performance, to be honest is a doubled up Wolves
- 2:09Speaker 1: owner now, but whatever, I was like an assist and
- 2:13Speaker 1: Slanky scored one, and I was like, okay, I can
- 2:15Speaker 1: deal with that. Slanky wasn't meant to go on and
- 2:17Speaker 1: do what Slanky did. And then I get a text
- 2:18Speaker 1: from Sam saying did you sell Slanky? And I just
- 2:22Speaker 1: sent Hie and my g's back.
- 2:23Speaker 2: Sam.
- 2:24Speaker 1: That was a sly move because I know you checked
- 2:26Speaker 1: Man and Jeels his teams after the dead, rubbing it in.
- 2:30Speaker 2: Honestly, if I didn't, I promise you. I had such
- 2:33Speaker 2: a busy weekend last weeking because were on Sky as well,
- 2:35Speaker 2: so I didn't check. And I honestly thought that you'd
- 2:38Speaker 2: just sold Calvin Lewis couldn't.
- 2:40Speaker 1: I couldn't get to him. I was pointing to Off, Oh,
- 2:43Speaker 1: that's really annoying.
- 2:44Speaker 3: Yeah, because if you're going minus four with the sixteen
- 2:46Speaker 3: from Slanky used to yeah.
- 2:48Speaker 1: Exactly, I thought that after and also Dominic Carvert Lewin
- 2:52Speaker 1: still hasn't returned Also, I've owned Slanky twice this season
- 2:55Speaker 1: and I haven't got one return.
- 2:56Speaker 3: From him, to be fair, until the seventieth mini or
- 2:59Speaker 3: so on to the first goal, and he did nothing.
- 3:01Speaker 3: So watching that game, you would feel like, Okay, this
- 3:05Speaker 3: is fine, and then suddenly I'll not merch.
- 3:08Speaker 4: Oh.
- 3:09Speaker 1: So I know I wasn't alone, and I'm an idiot
- 3:11Speaker 1: for doing it ahead of ipswitch at home. That's what
- 3:12Speaker 1: I'm annoyed about. I should have waited another week, but
- 3:15Speaker 1: I know why I did it. I also did it
- 3:16Speaker 1: because I was at BBC on SASTA. I was presenting
- 3:18Speaker 1: Football Focus and I always checked my team just before eleven,
- 3:22Speaker 1: and I was so in the I go into rehearsals
- 3:24Speaker 1: at eleven, I was so like in my head was
- 3:26Speaker 1: in that I looked at my phone it said ten
- 3:28Speaker 1: fifty eight and I just went on the app, panicked
- 3:30Speaker 1: and did the transfer, almost if i'd have forgotten that deadline. Anyway,
- 3:35Speaker 1: it's a silly it's a wonderful game. I'm a silly manner,
- 3:37Speaker 1: and you're still a good pick moving forward. So it's
- 3:40Speaker 1: not like I don't hate it, but I just I
- 3:41Speaker 1: feel like that move. We can talk about Cole Palmer
- 3:44Speaker 1: in fact, there's park Cole Parmer. Yeah, exactly correct answer.
- 3:50Speaker 1: This is a lanky transfer completely sums up everything about
- 3:54Speaker 1: my season, a move that makes total sense but totally
- 3:57Speaker 1: goes against me. It's just bad luck, is it? But
- 4:00Speaker 1: you have moments? No, I know you don't, but I
- 4:03Speaker 1: know I think I.
- 4:05Speaker 2: Genuinely did you rubbed in it all weekend geors? Honestly,
- 4:10Speaker 2: when that first slanky girl went in, I was in
- 4:12Speaker 2: the south so behind it and I almost cried. And
- 4:15Speaker 2: the guys around me were like, are you actually okay?
- 4:18Speaker 2: And I was like I don't think I am, and
- 4:19Speaker 2: they were like, have you got him in your FBL team?
- 4:21Speaker 2: Is that the problem here? Yeah? So I was like yeah,
- 4:24Speaker 2: actually genuine Then when the second one went in, they
- 4:26Speaker 2: all went absolutely bonkers, and I was just like Even
- 4:29Speaker 2: my little one was like, I think you might get
- 4:31Speaker 2: a green arrow now, mummy, and I was like, I
- 4:33Speaker 2: might be, but yeah it was. And then I thought
- 4:37Speaker 2: of you, and I was like, that's all right because
- 4:39Speaker 2: Kel's got him as well, so the pair of us
- 4:41Speaker 2: will have a nice week. And then you told him.
- 4:44Speaker 1: Yeah, anyway, in solidarity with all of the fellow slanky sellers,
- 4:48Speaker 1: I feel your pain, but the move did make sense
- 4:51Speaker 1: as long as you brought it in for someone good.
- 4:53Speaker 1: If you didn't bring someone good, it didn't make sense anyway. Sam,
- 4:55Speaker 1: you ended your last answer by saying, to me, onto
- 4:58Speaker 1: a big week for me, Do you want to tell
- 5:00Speaker 1: everyone why it's a big week?
- 5:02Speaker 2: I played my wild card on Saturday afternoon, so a
- 5:05Speaker 2: week earlier then anticipated, and I know you. I immediately
- 5:09Speaker 2: text you too as well, pretty much, and told you
- 5:10Speaker 2: because I knew you'd give me grief in not telling
- 5:12Speaker 2: you because it was earlier and then anticipated. But yeah,
- 5:15Speaker 2: I just felt like I was very close when I
- 5:19Speaker 2: saw you on Friday, I was, I said to you.
- 5:22Speaker 2: I think at the end of the show, I was
- 5:23Speaker 2: fifty to fifty on whether I was doing it or not.
- 5:25Speaker 2: And in the end, I just got myself in a
- 5:27Speaker 2: right stress with it because I didn't want to be
- 5:31Speaker 2: doing content on the Saturday morning and worrying about a
- 5:35Speaker 2: wild card deadline and all of that stuff. So on
- 5:38Speaker 2: Saturday afternoon, the results of the games made a massive
- 5:42Speaker 2: difference in my thinking, and then there was a lot
- 5:44Speaker 2: of pride. Wise, It's going to happen over the weekend,
- 5:46Speaker 2: and I thought, I'm going to lose an awful lot
- 5:48Speaker 2: of team value just in Saturday alone, and players that
- 5:53Speaker 2: were rising were players that I wanted. So I thought,
- 5:55Speaker 2: I just go early and then hope that I can
- 5:59Speaker 2: manage game Week eleven because there's only really one game
- 6:02Speaker 2: in Game Week eleven that I don't like. And I've
- 6:04Speaker 2: got a little plan for how to manage Arsenal and
- 6:05Speaker 2: Chelsea which involves not necessarily investing heavily now and having
- 6:09Speaker 2: one chancefer for next week to bring one in. So yeah,
- 6:13Speaker 2: while come's active, okay, so.
- 6:15Speaker 1: We'll come on to that very shortly. It's always quite
- 6:17Speaker 1: exciting when the world cord active on this pod. I think, Jewels,
- 6:20Speaker 1: anything to say Sam about the fact that she's told
- 6:22Speaker 1: us the wrong week again for a World cord or
- 6:24Speaker 1: should we just expect it?
- 6:25Speaker 3: We expected completely, We know, we know how devilition she
- 6:28Speaker 3: could be sometimes.
- 6:29Speaker 1: So here we go, just before we do move on
- 6:33Speaker 1: to kind of chat through the week, Jewels, it is
- 6:34Speaker 1: a European week. You are not in England? Where are you?
- 6:37Speaker 4: I mean, lel I was at Lead Juventus last night.
- 6:40Speaker 1: I mean, what use is that to us?
- 6:41Speaker 2: In Why were you at one of the Liverpool or
- 6:43Speaker 2: City games?
- 6:44Speaker 3: Come on, yeah, but I still had screens. Although I
- 6:48Speaker 3: was live during my game, I still had screens everywhere
- 6:50Speaker 3: to watch everything. So I can tell you that obviously
- 6:52Speaker 3: Luisia has got a hat twaak and maybe more importantly
- 6:55Speaker 3: than the hat twak, he played central in from three
- 6:58Speaker 3: with Sala and codigakpur gap post Scorde as well. Sala
- 7:01Speaker 3: had to assist.
- 7:02Speaker 4: He was a very good.
- 7:03Speaker 3: Second half from Liverpool, not so good in the first
- 7:05Speaker 3: half or not as great in the first half, let's
- 7:08Speaker 3: put it that way. So maybe Luisias comes back into
- 7:11Speaker 3: the conversation when we talk about the World card for
- 7:13Speaker 3: Sam or whoever is playing the World card or thinking
- 7:15Speaker 3: about a transfer.
- 7:16Speaker 4: Because he looked amazing in that position.
- 7:19Speaker 3: In Curtis Jones, who gave him a wonderful assist on
- 7:21Speaker 3: his first goal, looked also great in midfield. No, Dominiq's
- 7:24Speaker 3: was like another Dominique for UKs and then for much
- 7:28Speaker 3: the city heavy defeats of we all know for then scored,
- 7:31Speaker 3: which is good, but Hallent missed again a lot of
- 7:33Speaker 3: chances and a penalty too, so not a good week
- 7:36Speaker 3: at all for Ellen halland.
- 7:37Speaker 1: No, I couldn't leave that when I saw mister penalty
- 7:39Speaker 1: as well. Doesn't really vde very well does it for
- 7:42Speaker 1: him at the moment as an owner. I'm sure we'll
- 7:43Speaker 1: talk about him when we come on to talk about
- 7:45Speaker 1: Sam's wild card, because that is a big decision. But
- 7:47Speaker 1: just a quick check in with the FPR Pod Mini League,
- 7:50Speaker 1: it changed at the top. Actually the leader last week
- 7:52Speaker 1: was James White.
- 7:53Speaker 2: Get this.
- 7:54Speaker 1: He took a minus sixteen one six heading into the
- 7:58Speaker 1: game week, so he brought him Palmers, Saka, Visa, Kunya
- 8:01Speaker 1: and Mikhlenko. But it only brought in fifteen points because
- 8:06Speaker 1: only Kunya picked up a return.
- 8:07Speaker 2: Towards your face.
- 8:10Speaker 1: That would you with those players, but it was one
- 8:12Speaker 1: of those game weeks where you kind of would actually,
- 8:14Speaker 1: to be honest, I'm wondering if you sold Slanky as well.
- 8:18Speaker 1: He's now six place. That means he's nine points. Find
- 8:20Speaker 1: the new leader, who is Roushane Simpson, child of Prophecy,
- 8:23Speaker 1: is Rushane's team and they got seventy points. All of
- 8:26Speaker 1: their defenders returned, which is quite rare at the moment.
- 8:29Speaker 1: It feels like with Aina, Virgil and Bardiol as well
- 8:31Speaker 1: as cells in goal, they also had returns Rogers and
- 8:35Speaker 1: like Jules did, they had Salah as captain. Plus I
- 8:37Speaker 1: feel like this is lucky. Well, it's not lucky, he said.
- 8:39Speaker 2: I'm on the bench.
- 8:39Speaker 1: But even had Hardwood Bellis who got six points, who
- 8:42Speaker 1: would have seen that coming on the bench. Wayne Jensen
- 8:45Speaker 1: and Charlie Shepherd are tied second. They returned sixty two
- 8:48Speaker 1: and forty eight points respectively, so they're on course for
- 8:51Speaker 1: a season that will get seven hundred and eight. That
- 8:53Speaker 1: is five points behind the leader. Wayne did play his
- 8:56Speaker 1: triple captain on Mosala in game week ten though, So yes,
- 9:00Speaker 1: really strong performances so far in fpr PO Mini League.
- 9:02Speaker 1: We're backing all of you. We would love the winner
- 9:04Speaker 1: of FPL to be in our league, that's for sure. Okay,
- 9:07Speaker 1: wild card time, we'll do a brief check in on
- 9:10Speaker 1: how many chips are active. We don't need sound effects
- 9:13Speaker 1: on the show, and we've got jewels making making.
- 9:18Speaker 3: Bloom boom boom boom.
- 9:20Speaker 4: It doesn't Okay, Sexty wasn't.
- 9:24Speaker 1: And I'm guessing he's not gonna be in Sam's wildcard,
- 9:25Speaker 1: but who knows. So yeah, currently there are sixty one,
- 9:29Speaker 1: nine hundred and eighty eight wild card chips active. I
- 9:32Speaker 1: mean that's probably changed during the duration. We say in
- 9:34Speaker 1: that number, almost thirty seven thousand three hits, over thirty
- 9:37Speaker 1: thousand bench boosts, and over twenty thousand triple captains, So
- 9:41Speaker 1: not too many chips active. Sam, I think you've kind
- 9:44Speaker 1: of explained why did you get to a threshold of
- 9:47Speaker 1: players as well that you didn't want anymore?
- 9:49Speaker 2: Yeah, And it was it was so weird, though tallous,
- 9:52Speaker 2: because usually it's five five players I don't like, I'll
- 9:55Speaker 2: play the chip this week. I was looking at my
- 9:58Speaker 2: team on Saturday afternoon and and I had ten, ten
- 10:02Speaker 2: players I didn't want to keep. And I was like, however,
- 10:03Speaker 2: lot to a place with my jewels. There were five left.
- 10:06Speaker 2: I've got five players left in my team that I
- 10:08Speaker 2: had before five check.
- 10:10Speaker 1: I think I would be the same. And I only
- 10:12Speaker 1: world condo a few weeks ago.
- 10:13Speaker 2: Yeah, And I just looked at them and I was like,
- 10:15Speaker 2: I mean, there's a couple in there that you could
- 10:17Speaker 2: have stayed like they were. They're players in there that
- 10:20Speaker 2: I could have gone, well, I could keep them. But
- 10:22Speaker 2: in reality, like when you look at your team and
- 10:24Speaker 2: you're deciding what the the world card, you have to
- 10:26Speaker 2: kind of be a bit brutal with it and think well,
- 10:28Speaker 2: if I was starting from scratch, if this was like
- 10:30Speaker 2: I had to just change everybody at this point, would
- 10:32Speaker 2: I keep you, Like normally there's a good ten, ten twelve,
- 10:38Speaker 2: however many players you go, Yeah, I definitely would keep you.
- 10:40Speaker 2: I had five that I was like, I would definitely hold. Actually,
- 10:44Speaker 2: on Saturday afternoon I had four because one of them
- 10:47Speaker 2: I changed my mind. On Sunday afternoon, I wonder who
- 10:51Speaker 2: that was. Who were the five?
- 10:53Speaker 1: So I think we can probably both guess that while
- 10:55Speaker 1: that you are keeping a dominic in your team.
- 10:57Speaker 2: Yes, I am keeping a dominiqu in my team can
- 11:00Speaker 2: be calvot Lewin's definitely not going to be Catalun maybe
- 11:03Speaker 2: only four one week. He might just get another week
- 11:06Speaker 2: and then I might might do something different with him
- 11:08Speaker 2: after that. But I do like him for the home
- 11:11Speaker 2: game against Ipswich, so I've kept him. So Weirdly, Vardiol,
- 11:16Speaker 2: who's only just come in for me, I've still got
- 11:18Speaker 2: him there at the moment. Rogers I think might just
- 11:21Speaker 2: be a permanent hold for the entire season, so I've
- 11:24Speaker 2: kept him in Bomo, I've kept him, oh and Robinson currently,
- 11:28Speaker 2: I've kept him alongside Fabianski as my second goalkeeper. So
- 11:31Speaker 2: five of them, that's it. But Robinson is I'm into
- 11:35Speaker 2: minds about him. He was going and then he got
- 11:37Speaker 2: that assist on Monday evening and then I was like,
- 11:40Speaker 2: I'm not sure what's to do about you now? So
- 11:42Speaker 2: he's in there for now, but he could easily not be.
- 11:45Speaker 1: Who are the first players that you brought him?
- 11:48Speaker 2: Salah Saloh first, because at the end of the day
- 11:53Speaker 2: that I played it because I wanted to go big
- 11:56Speaker 2: in midfield. So Salah Palmasaka came in quite quickly. Ryan
- 12:01Speaker 2: aint Nori, he was very quick. He was a player
- 12:03Speaker 2: that I mean. I watched that game, the Wolves game
- 12:05Speaker 2: on Saturday night. Max and I sat and watched it
- 12:07Speaker 2: together and I was just like, does ain't Nori? No,
- 12:10Speaker 2: He's supposed to be a defender, like he was so attacking,
- 12:13Speaker 2: and I just thought, this is a player that longer
- 12:15Speaker 2: term I do want to have, particularly for that fixture
- 12:17Speaker 2: run that has coming up. And then I was keen
- 12:19Speaker 2: to change that front line. I really like were Sir,
- 12:22Speaker 2: I've got a bit of a thing about him. At
- 12:24Speaker 2: the moment. I like Kunya. So there's a lot of
- 12:26Speaker 2: players that I was kind of like, well, these are
- 12:28Speaker 2: the players that I want want to target. As I
- 12:31Speaker 2: mentioned at the beginning, the one thing that put me
- 12:33Speaker 2: off playing it this week was that Chelsea and Arsenal game,
- 12:37Speaker 2: because ideally you don't want to have a team that's
- 12:41Speaker 2: got a load of players all playing against each other. Particularly,
- 12:44Speaker 2: I find that game quite difficult to call at the minute.
- 12:46Speaker 2: Like normally i'd have gone, oh, that's an Arsenal win.
- 12:48Speaker 2: So I'll just keep my Arsenal players and I won't
- 12:50Speaker 2: go so heavy on Chelsea. But at the moment, I'm
- 12:53Speaker 2: not sure exactly how I feel that game will go.
- 12:56Speaker 2: So my plan is to be a little bit rogue.
- 12:59Speaker 2: I'm building it with both Sokka and Palma, and depending
- 13:02Speaker 2: upon injury news on Palma, I will likely go into
- 13:06Speaker 2: game week eleven without one of them and go for
- 13:10Speaker 2: a bit of a Ponty pick in that slot, keep
- 13:12Speaker 2: the money in the bank so that for game week
- 13:13Speaker 2: twelve I can bring whichever one I don't have for
- 13:16Speaker 2: eleven back in.
- 13:17Speaker 4: Okay, so you get rid of Horland?
- 13:18Speaker 2: Oh yeah, I have indeed got rid of Harland. Oh sorry,
- 13:21Speaker 2: well done. Joel's glad one of us is a wait
- 13:23Speaker 2: this morning, that's.
- 13:23Speaker 1: Quite big news.
- 13:24Speaker 3: Isn't it.
- 13:25Speaker 4: This is big?
- 13:25Speaker 1: Would you do that? You you've been very against that
- 13:28Speaker 1: actually on the podcast? Is it not changing week on
- 13:30Speaker 1: week and or are you still in the Holland income?
- 13:33Speaker 3: No? No, no, no, I mean I realize that you've got
- 13:38Speaker 3: other great options when the other great options really are Salah.
- 13:42Speaker 3: Although you can go with Salah and Highlands and still
- 13:44Speaker 3: be fine, but that means no Palma or no Soaka.
- 13:47Speaker 3: You can maybe squeeze a Sacka or Palmer with Salah
- 13:50Speaker 3: and holand still I think some did that in one
- 13:54Speaker 3: of the drives before. And Okay, the rest of the
- 13:56Speaker 3: team is maybe not great, but it's still possible and doable.
- 14:00Speaker 3: But do not go with Harland at all. I just
- 14:02Speaker 3: think that yet it doesn't look it's starting so well.
- 14:05Speaker 3: And now it looks a bit like his Man City team,
- 14:09Speaker 3: maybe a bit jaded. Maybe just something is not right.
- 14:13Speaker 3: Maybe it's the Rodery absence, maybe the Brown absence, although
- 14:17Speaker 3: he's coming back.
- 14:17Speaker 4: Maybe it's just for them not being completely at his best.
- 14:20Speaker 3: I don't know this something maybe, but I think Harland
- 14:23Speaker 3: would still score thirty gore this season in the league
- 14:25Speaker 3: and get a lot of points. So I think I
- 14:27Speaker 3: think it's a very brave move, but I'm all for
- 14:30Speaker 3: it if he works out for it.
- 14:31Speaker 1: For some I thought someone was going to say something
- 14:33Speaker 1: about then because you were agree and I.
- 14:34Speaker 4: Don't know that.
- 14:35Speaker 2: I do not disagree with anything George just said, Like,
- 14:38Speaker 2: I think he will get he probably win the Golden
- 14:42Speaker 2: Boat this season. But part of my justification for doing
- 14:46Speaker 2: this is that over the weekend that we've just had,
- 14:49Speaker 2: and in previous weekends I have had Harlan and Phogin
- 14:54Speaker 2: and so watching the Man City games, I've been like, Okay,
- 14:57Speaker 2: this feels comfortable. And I've had Valdi all as well,
- 14:59Speaker 2: so I feel comfortable. If there's a Man City girl,
- 15:02Speaker 2: I would expect to get some points out of it.
- 15:05Speaker 2: But then the Arsenal games, the Liverpool games, the Chelsea games,
- 15:08Speaker 2: they've all felt incredibly uncomfortable. Like every time they say, right,
- 15:14Speaker 2: we're going to anfield or we're going to the Emirates,
- 15:16Speaker 2: I'm like, oh no, like because it's gonna cause pain
- 15:20Speaker 2: because I can't have all of these guys in my team,
- 15:25Speaker 2: particularly salah Is. I know you've done it, Jewels and
- 15:27Speaker 2: it is doable, but you're still having to sacrifice other
- 15:30Speaker 2: big assets. So one of the decisions for doing this
- 15:33Speaker 2: is that there's only now one team that I'm going
- 15:36Speaker 2: to fear going to like it's just going to be
- 15:38Speaker 2: that City game. And yes, Harlan will go off, there
- 15:41Speaker 2: will be weeks where he gets a hatchet and I
- 15:44Speaker 2: haven't got him, but it will have Palmer and Socca
- 15:49Speaker 2: and Salah, So I would expect the three of them
- 15:51Speaker 2: to be able to counteract some of that suffering because
- 15:55Speaker 2: for most people, like for Jewels, who have got Salah
- 15:57Speaker 2: and Harlan, the pain if you don't, if it's a
- 16:01Speaker 2: Soccer or a Palmer that returns. So I just think
- 16:03Speaker 2: it's about balancing how you're able to invest in all
- 16:07Speaker 2: of the teams, and with the way that Man City
- 16:09Speaker 2: are playing right now and the fifteen million that you
- 16:11Speaker 2: have to pay for Harlan, it's a lot of the budget,
- 16:15Speaker 2: and Salah and Palmer and Soccer feels like the main
- 16:22Speaker 2: three that I really want to have right now given
- 16:25Speaker 2: their performances.
- 16:27Speaker 1: Okay, let's go through the wildcard then by position. We'll
- 16:30Speaker 1: start with your favorite position on the pitch. We'll go
- 16:32Speaker 1: to the opposite end to the forwards. I think goalkeepers
- 16:36Speaker 1: is quite topical anyway, because there just isn't many clean sheets.
- 16:39Speaker 1: Once again, Newcastle got one against Arsenal. I don't think
- 16:42Speaker 1: too many people saw that one coming. Don't know really.
- 16:44Speaker 1: I know Southampton were playing Everton, but I still didn't
- 16:47Speaker 1: really back them to get a clean sheet and forrested
- 16:49Speaker 1: against west Ham. Now Forest have been obviously brilliant. Maybe
- 16:52Speaker 1: that one was the most predictable of them all. I imagine, Sam,
- 16:55Speaker 1: when you look at your goalkeeper, you're looking at the
- 16:57Speaker 1: fixture ticker for defense going forward. We know that Wolves
- 17:00Speaker 1: are really high there, but we're really low on clean
- 17:03Speaker 1: sheets this season. So it must make picking a keeper
- 17:05Speaker 1: really tough.
- 17:07Speaker 2: Girls, and it's you, I especially, I am not the
- 17:10Speaker 2: person to be picking goalkeepers. I'm finding it hard because,
- 17:13Speaker 2: like you say, Wolvestop of the ticker, so ideally you'd
- 17:16Speaker 2: go for the Wolves Wolves keeper, But then is it Johnson,
- 17:19Speaker 2: is it jose Sah, Who is it that's going to
- 17:21Speaker 2: be between the sticks? That's another mindfield that we have
- 17:24Speaker 2: to contend with.
- 17:25Speaker 1: Also, Wolves aren't keeping clean sheets.
- 17:27Speaker 2: They're not, no, well nobody. The only real team that
- 17:29Speaker 2: consistently is keeping clean sheets this season is Nottingham Forest.
- 17:34Speaker 2: But when you look at the fixtures that they have
- 17:35Speaker 2: coming up. It's Newcastle next where Isak has decided that,
- 17:39Speaker 2: you know, he's finding his form again after injury. Then
- 17:42Speaker 2: Arsenal then it's a nice game against Dips which their
- 17:44Speaker 2: Man City, Man United, Villa, Brentford Spurs. Those teams look
- 17:47Speaker 2: like they'll score goals against Forest like they and when
- 17:50Speaker 2: you look at the games where Forrests have kept clean
- 17:53Speaker 2: sheets this season, with the exception of the Liverpool game,
- 17:56Speaker 2: which is a bit of an anomalye they have, I've
- 18:00Speaker 2: come against the slightly you know, weaker teams in terms
- 18:03Speaker 2: of the attack. He would expect the teams that they've
- 18:05Speaker 2: got coming up to score goals. So I'm struggling with
- 18:09Speaker 2: investing in sales right now. I think I'm going to
- 18:12Speaker 2: go Raya. Arsenal haven't kept a clean sheets since the
- 18:14Speaker 2: North London derby, but after the Chelsea game in game
- 18:18Speaker 2: week eleven, the fixtures are really nice and that Arsenal defense,
- 18:22Speaker 2: it doesn't become a bad defense overnight. Like Gabrielle and
- 18:25Speaker 2: Sleeba have both been missing for bits and bobs, so
- 18:27Speaker 2: I think once they're all back in the team, and
- 18:30Speaker 2: most importantly with Erdegarde now back in training. I would
- 18:33Speaker 2: expect Arsenal to be stronger coming back in through GAMEIK
- 18:36Speaker 2: eleven and then moving forward through the rest of the season.
- 18:39Speaker 2: So I think I'm going to go for Raya, keep
- 18:41Speaker 2: Fabianski in the second slot. The only thing that puts
- 18:45Speaker 2: me off Raya is that he's a million more than
- 18:48Speaker 2: most of the other goalkeepers that I would like to
- 18:50Speaker 2: go for, and you have to spend that extra money.
- 18:52Speaker 2: But if I spend the extra money on Raya, it
- 18:54Speaker 2: does mean I don't have to find the money for
- 18:56Speaker 2: a Gabrielle or a Saliba in the defense, and they're
- 18:59Speaker 2: even more expensive again, and so in terms of budget,
- 19:02Speaker 2: he feels like the best way into Arsenal. Does that
- 19:04Speaker 2: make sense to you, Joels? Would you be going for
- 19:06Speaker 2: Rare on a wild card?
- 19:07Speaker 4: Yeah, if you can afford him.
- 19:08Speaker 3: I still think that it's probably the best choice right now,
- 19:13Speaker 3: though it's hard. It's hard to say that because they've
- 19:15Speaker 3: been they haven't been good defensively for the last six games,
- 19:19Speaker 3: to be fair, so I think they will get stronger,
- 19:22Speaker 3: they would get they would get good again defensively, but
- 19:25Speaker 3: it's tricky. I mean, I like sales and I like forests,
- 19:28Speaker 3: but Sime is right. They the games coming up are tough.
- 19:33Speaker 3: I think you can look at Flecking again because they
- 19:35Speaker 3: look quite good defensively Fulham until the last few seconds
- 19:39Speaker 3: of the game.
- 19:40Speaker 1: There's probably almost as frustrating for me as the slanky thing,
- 19:46Speaker 1: because it was we felt so unbelievably close to a
- 19:49Speaker 1: clean cheating. Not only that I can see too, it's
- 19:51Speaker 1: going to be to a point ho that was I know,
- 19:53Speaker 1: I was going to think I was on course to
- 19:55Speaker 1: beat Jewels or at least beat one of.
- 19:57Speaker 3: The definitely a few more points, and to be if
- 20:00Speaker 3: you look at Branford, they've got one with Evert and
- 20:02Speaker 3: Leicster coming up. So those three games before Vella, so
- 20:05Speaker 3: those three games can be defensively, can be can be
- 20:08Speaker 3: signed too.
- 20:08Speaker 4: So I don't think flick And is bad. I don't
- 20:10Speaker 4: think Henderson is bad.
- 20:11Speaker 3: But Raya looks and if you can afford him, the
- 20:15Speaker 3: better goalkeeper of all that list.
- 20:17Speaker 1: Okay, so we're going with Raya. Then defense, Sam, you've
- 20:21Speaker 1: already said eight nois in. You said you're keeping Vadio.
- 20:25Speaker 1: Did you mention any other names? I can't remember, so
- 20:27Speaker 1: my memory is really bad. I wrote some of them down,
- 20:28Speaker 1: but I didn't run them all.
- 20:29Speaker 2: I'm potentially potentially keep Robinson potentially, Yeah, he's up for debate.
- 20:35Speaker 2: He could easily be Lewis Hall for him Newcastle because
- 20:37Speaker 2: actually quite like the Newcastle fixtures coming up. I was
- 20:39Speaker 2: really impressed with him against Arsenal as well, and I
- 20:42Speaker 2: think you know they are starting to get players back
- 20:44Speaker 2: from injury now. I like the fixtures that they have
- 20:47Speaker 2: coming and he's point three cheaper. So again, if it's
- 20:50Speaker 2: about clearing the team, because in reality, Robinson is likely
- 20:55Speaker 2: to spend a lot of time on my bench anyway,
- 20:57Speaker 2: he'd be my fourth and fender. So I'm kind of
- 21:00Speaker 2: at that point where I'm like, well, I would really
- 21:02Speaker 2: like Robinson, and if I've got the extra point three,
- 21:04Speaker 2: I'll keep him. But if I am struggling and I
- 21:07Speaker 2: need that point three, then he could easily be Lewis Hall.
- 21:11Speaker 2: So at the moment, my starting front three would be
- 21:14Speaker 2: Gvardio and eight Nori. And I've also taken a little
- 21:17Speaker 2: bit of a punt, but yeah, sorry on Dallo because
- 21:24Speaker 2: the Manchester Unite fixtures are looking quite nice now. The
- 21:29Speaker 2: new manager is known for loving his wingbacks and I
- 21:34Speaker 2: think that will only bode well for Dallo. In that position,
- 21:37Speaker 2: I would expect him to play well there. The next
- 21:39Speaker 2: three especially, well, you don't for sure, but I would
- 21:45Speaker 2: hope that it would be. It certainly is going to
- 21:47Speaker 2: be in game week eleven under Vanistroy. So it's just
- 21:52Speaker 2: whether when the new manager comes in he keeps him.
- 21:54Speaker 2: But in reality, Jews if he doesn't. He's the most
- 21:57Speaker 2: expensive of the Manses United defenders, so it's very easy
- 22:01Speaker 2: if it's not him to swap to one of the
- 22:03Speaker 2: others or if it's wrong. And actually Manaester United defensively
- 22:08Speaker 2: aren't good, but I don't see that happening because actually,
- 22:11Speaker 2: of all the things that Manchester United have been this season,
- 22:14Speaker 2: defensive solidity has been a thing. Like they've been all
- 22:16Speaker 2: right defensively, They've kept you know, clean sheets, and they've
- 22:20Speaker 2: looked okay defensively. So I think that the next three
- 22:23Speaker 2: in particular look promising for clean sheets. He's also created
- 22:27Speaker 2: nine chances so far this season. That's more than any
- 22:29Speaker 2: of the other United defenders, and of those three have
- 22:32Speaker 2: been big chances. So I think when you look at that,
- 22:35Speaker 2: plus the fact that he's top for expected assists across
- 22:37Speaker 2: the United defenders, like he is the most attacking of
- 22:40Speaker 2: their defensive units. So I'm going to go with him,
- 22:43Speaker 2: and if when the new manager actually arrives it's the
- 22:46Speaker 2: wrong thing, then I'll just move to one of the
- 22:49Speaker 2: others instead. Does that make sense to Jews? Now satisfied it?
- 22:52Speaker 3: I think there's a conversation to have about United anyway
- 22:55Speaker 3: when Robin and Murim arrives, because I think not only
- 22:58Speaker 3: there could be a really nice sort of new manager
- 23:01Speaker 3: bounce if you want, but I think the way he plays,
- 23:05Speaker 3: and if if he hits the ground running straight away
- 23:08Speaker 3: and the team just if he can implement his ideas
- 23:11Speaker 3: straight away and they're very much in it everybody, I
- 23:14Speaker 3: think you could see a big transformation and then suddenly
- 23:17Speaker 3: some of the assets become really interesting. So like a
- 23:19Speaker 3: hole and like a ganachual that defensively, whether it's dialogt
- 23:22Speaker 3: or mass RAWI whether the ganactual can play maybe left
- 23:25Speaker 3: wing back and then bring something.
- 23:27Speaker 4: New to the game too.
- 23:28Speaker 3: I think there could be a lot of interesting things
- 23:30Speaker 3: from a United point of view. Okay, maybe not now,
- 23:32Speaker 3: and Sam is right, we wait until Amorim arrives. There's
- 23:35Speaker 3: an international break. After that we can give it a
- 23:38Speaker 3: few game weeks two or three, maybe after Amarim arrives.
- 23:41Speaker 3: But there's also I think a good conversation to have them.
- 23:44Speaker 3: But suddenly some of their players who we've ignored for
- 23:47Speaker 3: most of the season coming back into the conversation is like, Okay, do.
- 23:50Speaker 4: You want Bruno? Could you get Harlean? Could you get him?
- 23:53Speaker 4: Could you get that? Because I think it could be
- 23:55Speaker 4: very interesting.
- 23:56Speaker 1: Yeah, I'm sure we'll be talking more about Manchester United
- 23:58Speaker 1: in the coming weeks. Let's go into is that all
- 24:00Speaker 1: your defense? Some I think it is all your defense,
- 24:02Speaker 1: isn't it?
- 24:02Speaker 2: And there's Vandenberg as well, because you need a four million,
- 24:05Speaker 2: so he's there need a four million. He's been regularly
- 24:08Speaker 2: starting for Brentford. If Greeves was fit, I probably would
- 24:12Speaker 2: have been tempted to have gone there instead, but he
- 24:14Speaker 2: is point one more and given it to the final subslot,
- 24:16Speaker 2: Vandenberg feels like the best option. Okay in midfield then,
- 24:20Speaker 2: so he've gone busy with a busy big could so
- 24:24Speaker 2: busy as well? You've gone big both, Yeah, with Salah Soccer, Parma,
- 24:32Speaker 2: Core and Rogers. You said, oh and Rogers.
- 24:35Speaker 3: So it's just one slot basically, right, because you've got
- 24:39Speaker 3: them when they left.
- 24:42Speaker 2: Is the last one. Nice, You've wanted him for ages,
- 24:44Speaker 2: haven't you. Well, I've had him for the last couple
- 24:46Speaker 2: of weeks. He's stayed. But my plants and my plan
- 24:49Speaker 2: here is because I ideally I don't want to go
- 24:52Speaker 2: into the Chelsea Arsenal game, as I mentioned, with Palmer
- 24:55Speaker 2: and Soccer and Rai ring goal like, it feels like
- 24:58Speaker 2: it's quite heavy in that game, and I'm not quite
- 25:00Speaker 2: sure how to read it. So my plan has always
- 25:03Speaker 2: been to budget for soccer, have the money there, and
- 25:06Speaker 2: then just before the deadline, I'm going to do Soccer
- 25:09Speaker 2: out for Bruno Fernandez and have Bruno for the game
- 25:11Speaker 2: against Leicester this weekend, and then further down the line,
- 25:16Speaker 2: I'll use that money to being sackering. If Palmer is
- 25:18Speaker 2: actually injured because he's flagged, we'll find out a little
- 25:21Speaker 2: bit more, I would hope before the deadline, although of
- 25:24Speaker 2: course he's not in Chelsea's European squad so we might
- 25:28Speaker 2: get less news on him. Then I'll do Palmer out
- 25:31Speaker 2: for Bruno and play Bruno this.
- 25:34Speaker 3: Week What's What's what's wrong with having both Palmer and
- 25:37Speaker 3: Zacker for the game. Why if they finished two two
- 25:39Speaker 3: and they both scored two. There's nothing a defender and
- 25:41Speaker 3: Palmer or like a Chelsea defender in Psycha, and that's defender.
- 25:45Speaker 3: I would understand because Palmer's scoring will take away points
- 25:49Speaker 3: from the Arsenal defender and the other ruman.
- 25:52Speaker 4: But if there's two attackers.
- 25:53Speaker 2: There's nothing wrong with it. I just think the Bruno
- 25:56Speaker 2: Fernandez feels like he could do really well this. I
- 26:00Speaker 2: think like Bruno Brennan Johnson. There's a couple of midfielders
- 26:04Speaker 2: this week, and if I hadn't wild carded this week,
- 26:06Speaker 2: had I waited till next week, that's what I'd have
- 26:08Speaker 2: been doing. I'd have been taking some punts on those
- 26:11Speaker 2: type of players. And so just because I'm wildcarding doesn't
- 26:15Speaker 2: mean I have to then lock my team in so
- 26:18Speaker 2: that over the international break, I don't do anything to it.
- 26:20Speaker 2: Like I'm happy to have a punt this week and
- 26:23Speaker 2: then move them to one of the more premium ones
- 26:26Speaker 2: for the week after. So yeah, that's why. Really, it's
- 26:29Speaker 2: just it's just a bit of fun, I think, and
- 26:32Speaker 2: he's got potential for a bigger hole.
- 26:33Speaker 3: Yeah. Sorry, it sounded like because they were playing each
- 26:35Speaker 3: other you didn't think it was a good idea to
- 26:37Speaker 3: have them both in your team.
- 26:39Speaker 4: That's how I think. That's why I asked the question.
- 26:41Speaker 2: If you've got them both in your team already, you
- 26:43Speaker 2: would absolutely hold them both for this week. But given
- 26:46Speaker 2: that I have the flexibility to have whoever I want,
- 26:50Speaker 2: it makes a lot of sense I think to kind
- 26:52Speaker 2: of to play that a little bit.
- 26:54Speaker 1: Okay, then your front three is, I'm guessing from what
- 26:56Speaker 1: you said before, Kunya, Visa and Slanky. Well, oh so
- 27:01Speaker 1: it's not so at the moment, it's not, but that's
- 27:04Speaker 1: only because of budget, and this is where I need
- 27:06Speaker 1: to kind of make some big decisions at the moment.
- 27:10Speaker 4: The three.
- 27:11Speaker 2: No, so at the moment it's he's quite expensive, Selanki
- 27:18Speaker 2: seven and a half, so so Lanky Whista. And then
- 27:22Speaker 2: I've got Strand Nelson at the moment in that third.
- 27:26Speaker 4: Good he did good.
- 27:29Speaker 2: Now ideally in Everything's Rosy and Sam's World day, No,
- 27:37Speaker 2: I know I would have Kunya absolutely and I would
- 27:40Speaker 2: still like to find the extra million to do that. However,
- 27:43Speaker 2: that would mean losing either Cavardio, who I'm not sure
- 27:46Speaker 2: I want to do that because that would be no
- 27:47Speaker 2: Man City at all, and that feels really horrible. Given
- 27:51Speaker 2: that you know everyone else going to have hardor or
- 27:54Speaker 2: it would mean not having an arsenal defender, which I
- 27:57Speaker 2: kind of keep questioning whether I can make peace with that,
- 27:59Speaker 2: but I'm not sure I can. Where the fixture is
- 28:01Speaker 2: the way that they look to come after game we
- 28:03Speaker 2: kill even or it would mean downgrading Robinson to another
- 28:08Speaker 2: four point oh because this team that i've bt does
- 28:11Speaker 2: have money in the bank. There's point five in the bank,
- 28:13Speaker 2: might even be point six, so I could go Robinson
- 28:16Speaker 2: down that's the least big sacrifice thing. But the problem
- 28:20Speaker 2: is that's two four point oh's then on the bench,
- 28:21Speaker 2: and that feels quite a lot to be you know,
- 28:25Speaker 2: I would be happy for Robinson to come off the bench.
- 28:28Speaker 2: Would I be happy for multiple four point oh's to
- 28:31Speaker 2: come off the bench? I'm not sure. And then the
- 28:33Speaker 2: underlying stats actually look all right for Stran Larson. No,
- 28:36Speaker 2: obviously he was the one that gets the guard at
- 28:37Speaker 2: the weekend. He's got the slightly higher expected goal numbers
- 28:40Speaker 2: over Kunya. Kunya's got the better expected assists tally, as
- 28:43Speaker 2: we mentioned, because he's top for expected assists across the forwards.
- 28:47Speaker 2: Kunya has had over double the final third touches to
- 28:50Speaker 2: stran Larson, but I don't know. They've both got the
- 28:53Speaker 2: same number of attacking returns this season, so I might
- 28:57Speaker 2: go there. The thing is that third forward slot is
- 29:00Speaker 2: going to be a Brighton one in a couple of
- 29:01Speaker 2: weeks time. Anyway, I will probably go for Brighton now.
- 29:04Speaker 2: The plan was to go s Lankey down to a
- 29:07Speaker 2: Wellbeck or a jel Pedro or whatever it is from
- 29:10Speaker 2: Brighton eventually, or maybe even go to Hoyland if Manchester
- 29:14Speaker 2: United start playing really well, but that would mean stran
- 29:16Speaker 2: Nelson stays. The other thing here is that this is
- 29:20Speaker 2: a proper front eight, like there's no one because Morgan
- 29:23Speaker 2: Rodgers is my cheap midfielder and Stran Larson would be
- 29:26Speaker 2: my weakest forward. So every week I've got a bench
- 29:31Speaker 2: at least one of them. So is it worth having
- 29:33Speaker 2: Cunya because then Cunya. But the conversation is then on
- 29:36Speaker 2: my benching Cunya, Whissa or Rogers And nobody really wants
- 29:40Speaker 2: to spend any of them, do they. Yeah, it's tough,
- 29:43Speaker 2: Jeors even what do you make of that? Would I
- 29:47Speaker 2: my gut definitely don't take my advice. Sam My gut
- 29:50Speaker 2: is I would go with the strand Larson. Because maybe
- 29:53Speaker 2: it's because last week, if I'd have.
- 29:54Speaker 1: Gone Dominic Calbert Lewins to Strand Larson, I'd Selanki and
- 29:57Speaker 1: I'd have got a goal, and then Slanky's returns as
- 29:59Speaker 1: well in a team because it is a team like
- 30:02Speaker 1: Wolves where they're not performing that well yet and Stran
- 30:05Speaker 1: Lawson is still getting points. It's not like Kunya's playing
- 30:09Speaker 1: in a team where he's going to get loads of
- 30:10Speaker 1: assists and goals. Wolves are never going to go crazy.
- 30:12Speaker 1: So if it's if it's meaning sacrifice elsewhere on your team,
- 30:17Speaker 1: that would be my gud.
- 30:17Speaker 2: What do you think?
- 30:18Speaker 3: Yeah, I saw stran lasson was I think my differential
- 30:20Speaker 3: two weeks ago, and the differential is not as we said,
- 30:23Speaker 3: just for one week or for Christmas. So I'm glad
- 30:25Speaker 3: he returned because I told you it would anyway. Mostly
- 30:29Speaker 3: it's cheaper, some said than Kunya. The thing about Cunia,
- 30:32Speaker 3: and I was pretty obvious watching the game at the weekend,
- 30:35Speaker 3: is the board comes to him all the time, so
- 30:37Speaker 3: so much. Every time somebody's he's a half, yeah, they
- 30:41Speaker 3: look for Kunia and then Cunia make things happen, whether
- 30:43Speaker 3: he scores or assist and he could have had more
- 30:45Speaker 3: than just the one assist of the weekend too, So
- 30:49Speaker 3: if you can, I think Kunia maybe as much as
- 30:51Speaker 3: I like straining laston because I like strikers like him,
- 30:53Speaker 3: you know. I find he has a lot of qualities
- 30:56Speaker 3: and he would get better and better because he's still
- 30:58Speaker 3: new in the league and he's still a new him
- 31:00Speaker 3: for him. But Cunia is just the main guy in
- 31:03Speaker 3: that team. I think, the guy you give the ball
- 31:05Speaker 3: to all the time, like a Palmer or those kind
- 31:08Speaker 3: of players that other teams have. So I'll be tempted
- 31:12Speaker 3: for Counia more than trying to last And if you
- 31:14Speaker 3: can find the.
- 31:15Speaker 2: Money probably doesn't help, really, does it sound to be honest, No,
- 31:18Speaker 2: it's but it's difficult because the part of my brain
- 31:21Speaker 2: is going just to have a cheaper one because you've
- 31:23Speaker 2: got to bench in many way some week so that
- 31:26Speaker 2: that makes a lot of sense rather than trying to retect.
- 31:28Speaker 1: The only thing is it would you you're probably the
- 31:29Speaker 1: one thing I would say is with whoever you go
- 31:31Speaker 1: for from Wolves with their fixture run, you're probably not
- 31:34Speaker 1: going to bench the Wolves player.
- 31:35Speaker 2: Well, so and this is another thing, so that you've
- 31:38Speaker 2: you've got to kind of look at who's got fixtures
- 31:41Speaker 2: and when, So like the Bournemouth game, for example, on
- 31:44Speaker 2: the fixture ticker that is rated quite easy for wolves,
- 31:47Speaker 2: but I don't think it is given what we've seen
- 31:49Speaker 2: hi from Burnemouth that moln you isn't it it is? Yeah,
- 31:53Speaker 2: but even then I still wouldn't be one hundred percent
- 31:56Speaker 2: sure that wolves will be Bornmouth. Then I guess you've
- 31:59Speaker 2: got to look at who Villa I've got. So then
- 32:00Speaker 2: then exactly so then you look at well, okay, who's
- 32:02Speaker 2: Morgan Rodgers got, Well, Morgan got arsenal, so probably don't
- 32:05Speaker 2: want to play him, so I probably would still play
- 32:08Speaker 2: him anyway. But then in other weeks where like Morgan Rodgers.
- 32:11Speaker 4: Has got not arsenal.
- 32:15Speaker 2: Still still yeah, like you know, it's the same, it's
- 32:18Speaker 2: the same principle. So I think that's the thing is
- 32:20Speaker 2: it's looking at how they rotate with each other. The
- 32:22Speaker 2: other thing is to not go with Wisser and to
- 32:25Speaker 2: go with somebody else. But actually he sits in that
- 32:27Speaker 2: quite nice price point. He's six so yeah, so like
- 32:32Speaker 2: even like Canya's like you've got to get another half
- 32:36Speaker 2: put more than half a million to get to him
- 32:38Speaker 2: from from there, and do I really want to have
- 32:40Speaker 2: two Wolves attackers and date Nori given how Wolves are
- 32:43Speaker 2: playing right now, Like I'm not, I'm.
- 32:45Speaker 1: Not gonna There's also a simpler theory here. Could you
- 32:49Speaker 1: not downgrade Dominic slank.
- 32:51Speaker 2: Not before Ipswich. I don't think you can. I think
- 32:54Speaker 2: you know when you look at the next three weeks
- 32:56Speaker 2: for Spurs, obviously it's Ipswich, then it's the game upper
- 33:00Speaker 2: in Manchester against City, and then after that it's Fulham
- 33:03Speaker 2: at home. So Spurs at home are really good, Like
- 33:08Speaker 2: we're really good that halftime. No, we still played well
- 33:12Speaker 2: in the first half. We just Dominic Sank was so
- 33:15Speaker 2: Dominic Szankee wasn't going to stay. But actually the way
- 33:18Speaker 2: that we played in that second half is gone. I'll
- 33:20Speaker 2: give him. I'll give him Ipswich now. I am happy
- 33:22Speaker 2: to sell him after the Ipswich game. So yeah, I
- 33:24Speaker 2: could do that, And that was on the radar. You know, Well,
- 33:27Speaker 2: Beck's five point nine, he's a nice option. Jel Pedro
- 33:30Speaker 2: because of the injury, is now back at four point Sorry,
- 33:32Speaker 2: I'm back at five point four. So actually going for
- 33:35Speaker 2: him when he comes back if and it's a big if,
- 33:38Speaker 2: if he comes straight back into that Brian team again,
- 33:41Speaker 2: could be a nice option. The front three feel like
- 33:45Speaker 2: that's where I'm going to play this year. They feel
- 33:47Speaker 2: like the ones that are going to change. Like I
- 33:49Speaker 2: think when you get a midfield that's got Rogers is
- 33:52Speaker 2: going to be a perma hold, I think, and Lettie
- 33:54Speaker 2: gets injured and then Salah Palmer and Soccer, they're going
- 33:58Speaker 2: to be permanent holes. I can't see them going in
- 34:00Speaker 2: they're injured. So the front three is going to be
- 34:02Speaker 2: the where I target changes and it might be that
- 34:06Speaker 2: some weeks I want Jackson and I can go there.
- 34:08Speaker 2: Some weeks I want to come down and have I
- 34:11Speaker 2: don't know whoever it is, Chris Wood if he continues
- 34:13Speaker 2: to be absolutely peakue. So you know, I think the
- 34:16Speaker 2: front three are going to be the changeable slots, and
- 34:18Speaker 2: it's just working out how much money I want to
- 34:20Speaker 2: invest in that third forward, which is why at the
- 34:23Speaker 2: minute it's it's strand Arson.
- 34:24Speaker 1: Anything else that you would suggest to that Angels, Do
- 34:27Speaker 1: you think anything other than Arling Harland?
- 34:29Speaker 2: Obviously no, I think.
- 34:31Speaker 3: Who seems to come back to some some sort formula
- 34:34Speaker 3: with Greg goldgrahead against against Arsenal. There's obviously Chris Wood
- 34:37Speaker 3: and Dannie Welberg who keep returning, whether it's goals, assist,
- 34:41Speaker 3: whatever you want, which, as we said last week, might stop,
- 34:45Speaker 3: might not stop. I mean, Chris Wood just amazes me,
- 34:47Speaker 3: really incredible. But then if you bring him in and
- 34:52Speaker 3: he I guess in some position, you can always bring
- 34:55Speaker 3: one of them and a she says, you can swap
- 34:57Speaker 3: a you know, Strain Larssen and c. Yeah, and the
- 35:01Speaker 3: players of that kind of budget with Wood with well
- 35:04Speaker 3: beg that that should not be too difficult. As the
- 35:08Speaker 3: men striker, I think Slanke for the depite game makes sense.
- 35:12Speaker 4: You know.
- 35:12Speaker 3: I wonder where what Kins is going to go. It
- 35:14Speaker 3: was a bit disappointing at the weekend considering the position
- 35:18Speaker 3: that he had and where he had the ball and
- 35:20Speaker 3: stuff like that. But yeah, Nicol is a good shot
- 35:22Speaker 3: for some games too. I like the fluidity that some
- 35:26Speaker 3: can have. Really, if you don't have Harland that that's
- 35:28Speaker 3: also what you can bring to your team is because
- 35:31Speaker 3: you don't have that fifteen million tied up in him,
- 35:34Speaker 3: you can play a bit with that front line, for example,
- 35:37Speaker 3: and have a super strong midfield like she will have,
- 35:39Speaker 3: and then with your front three you can look at
- 35:41Speaker 3: the fixtures over one game week, two, three game weeks.
- 35:44Speaker 3: Maybe you don't even have to look at you know,
- 35:46Speaker 3: midterm or long term. Just short term is enough and
- 35:49Speaker 3: then you can you can choose and you would always
- 35:51Speaker 3: have every transfer maybe to be able to play with anyway.
- 35:54Speaker 3: So you know, why not using the fluidity for the
- 35:56Speaker 3: three forward positions?
- 35:58Speaker 1: Yeah, that's actually a really key word. Know, Harland might
- 36:00Speaker 1: be scary, but it does give you fluidity absolutely. So yeah,
- 36:04Speaker 1: there's a lot more you can do with that team.
- 36:05Speaker 1: I'm very envious samifonly I telled mine.
- 36:09Speaker 4: You haven't played your world card yet because both of you.
- 36:12Speaker 2: Have now got a salas. This is just going to
- 36:14Speaker 2: get more and more powerful for me. I don't have Harlance,
- 36:16Speaker 2: so every week that's going to be a stress for
- 36:18Speaker 2: me with you to him. So it's compromises and sacrifices,
- 36:22Speaker 2: isn't it. So it's just making sure that if you
- 36:26Speaker 2: don't have Harlan, you build the biggest and the best
- 36:29Speaker 2: squad you can to compensate for that.
- 36:32Speaker 4: You just can't get it wrong. That's the only thing
- 36:34Speaker 4: you can't get wrong. Who you're replace him with, Like
- 36:36Speaker 4: your three forwards.
- 36:37Speaker 3: I know we talk about fluidity, but they have to
- 36:39Speaker 3: return at some point because you know inevitably he would
- 36:43Speaker 3: return a lot. And I know you still have Sala
- 36:45Speaker 3: and Palma and Sakka, so you less three best. No, No,
- 36:49Speaker 3: I'm just saying, you know, like he didn't score the weekend,
- 36:51Speaker 3: he had you upon eight expected goals. This is this
- 36:54Speaker 3: is just mental for him not to score with that
- 36:56Speaker 3: many chances and opportunities.
- 36:59Speaker 4: So I'm just it's what we saw all the.
- 37:00Speaker 3: Time is who you replace your players with that is
- 37:03Speaker 3: the most important, not who you don't have.
- 37:05Speaker 2: Yeah, and I think you know, for the rest of
- 37:08Speaker 2: this season, all the money and my team has been
- 37:10Speaker 2: in the defense, in the forward line, and I've had
- 37:13Speaker 2: very very little of it in midfield. Like I had
- 37:14Speaker 2: one premium and it was Fodin and then otherwise it
- 37:17Speaker 2: was in Bomo and then down from there. So it's
- 37:20Speaker 2: just changing the way that I've invested in the team.
- 37:22Speaker 2: So I just need my midfielders. As long as Soccer
- 37:25Speaker 2: and Salah and Palmer continue to perform as they have been,
- 37:30Speaker 2: it will compensate for not having Harlan as long as
- 37:33Speaker 2: one of that front three also chips in. And it's
- 37:36Speaker 2: it's just who they are, and I think, you know,
- 37:38Speaker 2: having Slanky for the next week, having like Whissa, I
- 37:42Speaker 2: really like Partickely for the next three. But then after
- 37:44Speaker 2: that the fixtures do change a little bit for Brentford,
- 37:46Speaker 2: so he could be Hoyland at that point because of
- 37:48Speaker 2: course then manager Bounce will have kicked in properly, will
- 37:51Speaker 2: have a bit more understanding of how Manchester is United
- 37:54Speaker 2: are playing. So I think it's just it's just making
- 37:57Speaker 2: sure that that front three work works as best as
- 38:01Speaker 2: it can without the budget restraints of Parliament.
- 38:05Speaker 1: Okay, makes a lot of sense. Okay, then it is
- 38:07Speaker 1: time to move on to differential of the week. Now,
- 38:11Speaker 1: last week's differentials, both of you returned. Kidovsky got five points,
- 38:15Speaker 1: got an assist for Dom Silanky's one of Dom Slanky's goals.
- 38:18Speaker 1: Sam went for Bruno fer Nandez ten points, It's got
- 38:21Speaker 1: a penalty and got all three bonus points. Interestingly, this
- 38:24Speaker 1: week on the script, with Sam doing so well, George,
- 38:26Speaker 1: she's put the current standing just to remind you, I
- 38:30Speaker 1: don't put.
- 38:30Speaker 2: The total though. Notice I'm not that man. I counted them.
- 38:33Speaker 1: Don't worry.
- 38:34Speaker 2: I thought you set me up. I thought you sent
- 38:35Speaker 2: me a little challenge no, I left that off. Just
- 38:38Speaker 2: my point was that actually doing quite well.
- 38:40Speaker 4: She picked super stars though, I mean, I don't know
- 38:42Speaker 4: what to say well.
- 38:43Speaker 1: Out of the week. So Sam on this grid has
- 38:45Speaker 1: done it. Read if they do, it's read if they blank? Yeah,
- 38:52Speaker 1: do you know what I've worked out? But I've worked
- 38:53Speaker 1: out wrong. Well, we're going to say, is Sam is winning?
- 38:55Speaker 1: Sam is doing a lot better. I think that Sam
- 38:57Speaker 1: has won seven week.
- 39:02Speaker 4: Sam?
- 39:02Speaker 2: Is it seven of the ten.
- 39:03Speaker 1: Weeks you've got greens two for five year? Yeah, so
- 39:07Speaker 1: seven of the ten weeks. Jawles has got greens on
- 39:09Speaker 1: four of the ten weeks. Second guests myself.
- 39:13Speaker 2: That is shared with you both, by the way, so
- 39:16Speaker 2: you can look at it any game.
- 39:17Speaker 1: Weeks four and five, both of you are disastrous and
- 39:20Speaker 1: both both of your picks, all of all four picks
- 39:22Speaker 1: between the two of you got a point to week four.
- 39:25Speaker 2: Five was a low point.
- 39:26Speaker 1: But since then Sam's differentials have returned every single week,
- 39:29Speaker 1: so she's on a bit of a hot streak. So
- 39:31Speaker 1: let's see who we're picking for game week eleven gone
- 39:34Speaker 1: and Sam Mika First.
- 39:35Speaker 2: I'm going to go with Bowen this week, so he's
- 39:39Speaker 2: got a really good record against Everton two goals and
- 39:42Speaker 2: assists in the last three Premier League meetings between these
- 39:44Speaker 2: two teams. He had two attempts on goal in game
- 39:46Speaker 2: week ten orso, supplied five crosses and created a chance.
- 39:49Speaker 2: And all of the midfielders this season only five have
- 39:52Speaker 2: been more creative than Bowen. He's made twenty three chances
- 39:55Speaker 2: for his teammates and he's also the seventh best across
- 39:58Speaker 2: the midfielders four crosses as well, so I think, you know,
- 40:02Speaker 2: it could be could be a decent option. He's also
- 40:04Speaker 2: on corners, taking thirty one of those and had four
- 40:07Speaker 2: attempttion set pieces. Comes up against an Everton team that
- 40:10Speaker 2: have conceded seventeen goals this season. On the road they've been,
- 40:13Speaker 2: especially Paul. They conceded four against Birds, three against Villa.
- 40:15Speaker 2: They even conceided one against Southampton, so you know, on
- 40:19Speaker 2: the road not being great and they're only clean shitt
- 40:21Speaker 2: on the road came against Gpswitch in game week eight.
- 40:23Speaker 2: So I do think that west Ham need this, They
- 40:26Speaker 2: really need this win and Bowen will be the talisman
- 40:31Speaker 2: in that team if they get it. So jeles so.
- 40:35Speaker 4: Impure sim styles can by less than but I mean
- 40:44Speaker 4: there's more players, they're just coming through really boiler.
- 40:47Speaker 2: Neither of them will turning fr this week.
- 40:49Speaker 3: So instead, because I'm not Sam, I went for coudigap
- 40:53Speaker 3: because Codigagpo is only owned by two percent of the managers,
- 40:57Speaker 3: which I thought that was super low.
- 40:58Speaker 4: That's that's to be the only reason I picked him.
- 41:01Speaker 3: Also because he's scored in three games in a row
- 41:03Speaker 3: now in all competitions, four goals in his last three.
- 41:07Speaker 4: It was very good in midweek.
- 41:08Speaker 3: We said that against Bio lever Cuisine that in the
- 41:10Speaker 3: second half. It was very good last weekend too against
- 41:13Speaker 3: Brighton in the second half as well. Because Liverpool is
- 41:16Speaker 3: still not fully consistent over nineteen minutes, but that doesn't matter.
- 41:19Speaker 3: They have such a great form and that game against
- 41:21Speaker 3: Villa Villa SIDEA is not doing as well, had a
- 41:25Speaker 3: poor week before their Champions League outing against Bruges on Wednesday.
- 41:28Speaker 3: So later today after we're recording the show, So I
- 41:32Speaker 3: think this could be another good weekend for Liverpool and
- 41:34Speaker 3: for Cody Gakpo. Yeah.
- 41:35Speaker 2: I like the gagpipet.
- 41:36Speaker 1: It feels like another one of the Liverpool players that
- 41:38Speaker 1: we've ever looked. Because we're also obsessed with my Salah
- 41:41Speaker 1: and a lot of people now probably look at Lewis
- 41:42Speaker 1: d As this weekend as well, and yeah, maybe overlook
- 41:45Speaker 1: Cody Gakpo again. Okay, then let's go on to transfers
- 41:48Speaker 1: and captains. So, Sam, we don't need to run through
- 41:51Speaker 1: your transfers because you've made a lot of them. Jills,
- 41:54Speaker 1: what about your transfers. It's Wednesday, by the way we're recording,
- 41:57Speaker 1: so and this is very much not in FPO my
- 42:00Speaker 1: in terms of the beginning.
- 42:02Speaker 4: I know you're right, so right, you know me? So
- 42:05Speaker 4: two three transfers. I have to be fair. Rogers is flagged,
- 42:08Speaker 4: but it should not be too bad, I think. And
- 42:10Speaker 4: I like Rogers. I like them.
- 42:11Speaker 3: I like the midfield with salab Brnon Johnson because he
- 42:13Speaker 3: SIPs switch at home and Johnson could easily be my
- 42:15Speaker 3: captain as well. Rogers and Bomo, who's got Bonemouth at home.
- 42:19Speaker 3: He's seen the defense. I can't find the defense right.
- 42:22Speaker 3: To be fair, I don't think I've ever written defensively
- 42:24Speaker 3: out out of Robinson, who got really lucky to get
- 42:27Speaker 3: the assist at the week on Monday. Let's be honest,
- 42:29Speaker 3: it was a girl from a shoulder from Wilson, So.
- 42:32Speaker 4: I don't know.
- 42:32Speaker 3: I think I might keep the same team and have
- 42:34Speaker 3: three free transfers the following weekend, where I'll have a
- 42:37Speaker 3: you know, I think you can start a block of
- 42:40Speaker 3: game weeks from next week, like when someon wanted to
- 42:42Speaker 3: play a World Card, and I think it's probably smarter
- 42:44Speaker 3: to just wait and I have the three free transfers
- 42:47Speaker 3: to just get fresh blood and new legs into my team.
- 42:52Speaker 1: Yeah, makes a lot of sense. I just wish I
- 42:53Speaker 1: had the patience to do that. So it was probably
- 42:55Speaker 1: not doing anything Sam. Your transfers pretty much set. What
- 42:58Speaker 1: about your capsin say.
- 43:00Speaker 2: Probably Salah do quite fancy a punt on Selankey at
- 43:04Speaker 2: home against Itswich, so but I'll probably be boring and
- 43:08Speaker 2: put it on salad. Given it's my first time in this.
- 43:10Speaker 1: I was going to say, I feel like if you're
- 43:11Speaker 1: going to wind most Sally, you've got a captain and
- 43:13Speaker 1: you captain him as well.
- 43:14Speaker 3: Yeah, Brennan Johnson because I like I like the idea
- 43:17Speaker 3: of Spurs against its which I think they could absolutely
- 43:20Speaker 3: batter them. And although a lot of Spurs players can score,
- 43:23Speaker 3: as we've seen the whole season, I think Johnson is
- 43:25Speaker 3: in great form too, so he would be one of
- 43:28Speaker 3: the two.
- 43:28Speaker 1: Okay, yeah, some good options there, that's for sure. Gosh,
- 43:31Speaker 1: I'm going to really struggle to owning my salo are I.
- 43:33Speaker 1: It's going to be interesting.
- 43:35Speaker 4: Seem like the boy in our you know, in our league?
- 43:38Speaker 4: Do you know?
- 43:39Speaker 1: Sometimes I feel like I should and it would then
- 43:43Speaker 1: as well, couldn't you. I'm not going to do anything
- 43:45Speaker 1: this week. I'm just gonna be patient bench cavalry and
- 43:47Speaker 1: he's just going to stand my bench at the moment.
- 43:49Speaker 2: That's the thing.
- 43:50Speaker 1: I can play Morgan Rodgers over him and deal with
- 43:51Speaker 1: him at some point.
- 43:53Speaker 4: Yeah.
- 43:53Speaker 1: Anyway, enough about my team. No one wants to hear
- 43:55Speaker 1: about that, So let's end the podcast there, shall we.
- 43:57Speaker 1: It's a one thirty pm deadline this week, you're and minded.
- 43:59Speaker 1: This is the last weekend of action for the final
- 44:02Speaker 1: international break until March, so if you don't want to
- 44:04Speaker 1: hold your transfers, you've got a couple of weeks to
- 44:06Speaker 1: make them. But there is no eleven twelve thirty even kickoff,
- 44:10Speaker 1: so it is a slightly later deadline. Give Sam a
- 44:12Speaker 1: little bit longer for her transfers. For her wild card,
- 44:16Speaker 1: there's just three o'clock games, four of them. Brentford versus
