- 0:00Speaker 1: Thanks Mike Lane. Very wild game in Tampa. You guys
- 0:04Speaker 1: get your second all time win over the Lightning. Berkeley
- 0:07Speaker 1: Catton dropped the gloves. You had a big game from
- 0:09Speaker 1: the likes of Copple, Coco and Brandon Montor. So much
- 0:12Speaker 1: to unpack from that overtime win. Take us through it.
- 0:14Speaker 2: Yeah, no, we know it was a It was a
- 0:17Speaker 2: high compete game. Obviously it needs to be at this
- 0:20Speaker 2: time of the year. I thought our guys stepped up
- 0:22Speaker 2: to the plate. We had some bumps and bruises throughout
- 0:26Speaker 2: the game where a couple of guys were out with
- 0:29Speaker 2: concussion protocols and things like that for a period of time,
- 0:32Speaker 2: and I thought that everybody stepped up and you know,
- 0:35Speaker 2: did their job and we worked our way through it. Certainly,
- 0:40Speaker 2: I thought Berkeley Caton sparked our hockey team, you know,
- 0:44Speaker 2: And that's kind of the way he's been. It's been
- 0:48Speaker 2: a great year for him, a great learning year form,
- 0:50Speaker 2: a great experience for him, and he just keeps getting better.
- 0:52Speaker 1: Probably not ideal to see your nineteen year old eighth
- 0:55Speaker 1: overall draft pick dropping the gloves, but what did you
- 0:58Speaker 1: would you like about that willingness and that battle level
- 1:01Speaker 1: from him, Well, it.
- 1:02Speaker 2: Just shows you that he cares about his team and
- 1:04Speaker 2: his teammates, you know, And you know that's like I said,
- 1:09Speaker 2: that's I thought it was great from that standpoint because
- 1:14Speaker 2: that shows you what kind of leadership you're going to
- 1:16Speaker 2: get out of this kid. And so from my perspective,
- 1:20Speaker 2: it's a great pick.
- 1:22Speaker 1: Copple. Cockle's been having a really good set of games
- 1:26Speaker 1: after the Olympics. What did you say something to him
- 1:28Speaker 1: coming back from Italy? Where do you like about his
- 1:32Speaker 1: game right now?
- 1:33Speaker 2: Well, you know what he's I think, in my opinion,
- 1:38Speaker 2: everybody thought the break was going to be so good
- 1:40Speaker 2: for guys that were getting the break. I think the
- 1:43Speaker 2: break has been a lot better for guys that went
- 1:45Speaker 2: and played. And you know, he kept his rhythm going,
- 1:49Speaker 2: he kept his momentum going, and you know he's just continuing.
- 1:53Speaker 2: He's getting to the net more than he was. You know,
- 1:56Speaker 2: he's playing good hockey for us. He's battling, he's proving
- 1:59Speaker 2: it the time of the year that he has an
- 2:01Speaker 2: idea of what it takes.
- 2:03Speaker 1: You talked about the injuries that you had in that
- 2:06Speaker 1: Tampa game. You call up Logan Morrison on an emergency
- 2:08Speaker 1: basis can you share some updates from the Tampa game
- 2:11Speaker 1: and a peak in your lineup tonight?
- 2:14Speaker 2: Yeah, I think everybody's pretty much status quo tonight. Rgan
- 2:17Speaker 2: was called up on, you know, a precautionary basis, but
- 2:21Speaker 2: as it stands right now, we should be status quo.
- 2:24Speaker 1: Buffalo on track to break a fourteen year playoff drought
- 2:27Speaker 1: this season probably one of the best stories in the NHL.
- 2:30Speaker 1: You haven't seen this team since back in December and
- 2:32Speaker 1: they continue to win. What do you like about their
- 2:36Speaker 1: team and what type of challenges do they present to
- 2:38Speaker 1: Seattle tonight.
- 2:39Speaker 2: There's a lot to like about their team. You know,
- 2:41Speaker 2: they're big, they're skilled, they're fast, their d can all skate,
- 2:45Speaker 2: they're long, heavy. They've done a nice job of building
- 2:50Speaker 2: that team over the course of time, and they're starting
- 2:54Speaker 2: to reap the rewards of you know, that building process.
- 2:58Speaker 2: So the city is excited, the building will be electric.
- 3:04Speaker 2: It's going to be a hard hockey game tonight. They're
- 3:06Speaker 2: a great hockey team right now.
- 3:07Speaker 1: It seems like they've added a lot of physicality into
- 3:10Speaker 1: their game in recent weeks. How important is that side
- 3:13Speaker 1: of it going to be here tonight for Seattle?
- 3:14Speaker 2: Well, you saw what happened in Tampa too. You know,
- 3:17Speaker 2: playoff games or about physicality, and they're ramped up. Like
- 3:21Speaker 2: I said after the game, probably even forty percent more
- 3:24Speaker 2: than it was in Tampa. If we thought that game
- 3:25Speaker 2: was physical. Playoffs is another level. And you know, these
- 3:31Speaker 2: teams that are in that situation and in that moment,
- 3:35Speaker 2: you know, and then I've added those veteran players at
- 3:37Speaker 2: these this time are fully understanding that that is sort
- 3:41Speaker 2: of an element that has to be turned up at
- 3:43Speaker 2: this time of the year. So it's going to be
- 3:45Speaker 2: a challenge for us again, and it's a great experience
- 3:48Speaker 2: for us.
- 3:49Speaker 1: You took a really strong third period in Florida overtime
- 3:53Speaker 1: into Tampa, you got the win there. What do you
- 3:55Speaker 1: need to do to continue building especially all these last
- 3:59Speaker 1: four periods.
- 4:00Speaker 2: Got to have a good start tonight. I've got to
- 4:01Speaker 2: continue building that momentum. You know, we can't we can't
- 4:06Speaker 2: go down you know, two or three goals, clearly, you
- 4:09Speaker 2: know we've got to come out of the first period
- 4:11Speaker 2: either even or up. And that's going to be the
- 4:14Speaker 2: focus here to start the game. They obviously have I
- 4:17Speaker 2: don't consider three losses in a row because they lost
- 4:20Speaker 2: in overtime twice. But you know they're going to be
- 4:24Speaker 2: a hungry team tonight. They haven't won here at home
- 4:28Speaker 2: in three games
