- 7:58Let's talk science. In a remarkable discovery,
- 8:01doctors have identified a new blood type called
- 8:04Guada negative in a French woman marking the
- 8:0848th known blood group system in humans. The
- 8:12woman from Guadeloupe was found to carry a unique
- 8:15genetic mutation during routine testing in 2011.
- 8:19Researchers revisiting her case in 2019 sequenced
- 8:23her genome and confirmed she is the only known
- 8:26carrier of this blood type. Discovering new blood
- 8:30groups offers patients with rare blood types
- 8:32a higher level of care, said the French blood
- 8:35establishment. This breakthrough expands our
- 8:38understanding of human blood types, which now
- 8:41encompass a total of 48 systems. And in entertainment
- 8:47news, this year's San Diego Comic -Con, the mecca
- 8:52for geek culture, will notably lack major franchises.
- 8:57Marvel Studios, Lucasfilm, Warner Bros., Legendary,
- 9:01Sony, Lionsgate, and Paramount are all skipping
- 9:04the iconic Call A, which is known for significant
- 9:07franchise announcements. This absence is intriguing
- 9:11given the superhero genre is at a pivotal moment,
- 9:15especially after recent disappointments like
- 9:17Marvel's Captain America Brave New World. While
- 9:22some studios will still present, including Universal
- 9:25Pictures and Amazon NGM Studios, the overall
- 9:28lack of superhero content raises questions about
- 9:32the effectiveness of Comic -Con as a marketing
- 9:34platform. Well, alrighty folks, it's time for
- 9:39the quote of the day. And today, our quote comes
- 9:43from the American civil rights activist and author,
- 9:46Alice Walker. And she said, The most common way
- 9:50people give up their power is by thinking they
- 9:53don't have any. And that's a wrap for this morning.
